So many weird topics today to talk about. Strange, tragic, chaotic. Live in L.A., it's the herd, wherever you may be. However you may be listening, thanks for making us part of your day.

J. Mack, one of the strangest stories I ever recall. Scotty Sheffler, the number one golfer in the world. got cuffed this morning by police and it was after a tragedy and there was chaos and there was utter confusion and so he's now back on the course but it big picture remember when I supported golfers bailing on the tour to go to the live tour and I got a lot of pushback on that and I said golf's always been every man for himself so there is a prime example of what happened this morning so Scotty Schaeffler is the best golfer in the world he may not be Tiger Woods dominion it. He just won the Masters. He's great. He's your number one asset. He's going to make people tens

and hundreds of millions of dollars on the tour. So this morning in Louisville, Kentucky, and everybody's picking on Louisville, but it's a major, right, the PJ Championship. A man, you know, entering the golf course is struck a spectator by a shuttle bus, just a tragedy, but it's five in the morning. It's dark out. Nobody can see. So somebody gets, so what happens is, before this golf tournament, right? Is that as the golfers are coming in, there's a long, long delay. And it's very hard to get an exception

to move at tea time. This is a major. Remember golfers? This is not a league, right? Like, golfers have to make their own way. They pay for their travel. They pay for everything. So tea time.

What's happening? Well, it's 5.30 in the morning. There's flashing lights. There's cops. There's security. Scotty Schepleard drives up early tea time. And he doesn't know the difference between cops and security.

he's just trying to get around the accident and get into the tournament. So he drives up on the median for about 10 yards, and some local, I guess, cop, not a security guard, races over, attaches himself to the car, makes it a wildly serious incident for driving over a median, handcuffs him. He gets stuck in the back of a police car, and you're sitting there thinking,

this is how you, yeah, we know it's a tragedy. By the way, Scotty Schaeffler said this morning, he goes, there was chaos. We're all confused. He goes, I feel terrible for the family. It's an absolute tragedy. So, Scotty Schaeffer wasn't disregarding anything. There was just massive confusion.

But this is what I've said about golf. So the PGA championship, this tournament, is run by the PGA of America. The last major, the Masters, is run by Augusta National. The U.S. Open is run by the US Open, and the British Open called the Open is run by the Royal Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews. I wonder why there's a little chaos at the Pug. PGA championship. Do you realize that Aaron Andrews, Tom Rinaldi, Kevin Burkart, and Tom Brady will have better

security getting in and out of football games than the number one golfer in the world has getting into a major? They'll have security from the airport. They'll have somebody pick them up at Fox that takes him to the hotel, then hotel to the stadium, then stadium to the airport, back home, security, the NFL security, and Fox security, protecting our broadcast teams, not even in playoff games, preseason games, regular season games. Carolina could be playing Tampa.

The security is better protecting the announcers than golf does. Here's the number one golfer in the world driving his rental car by himself, no idea, pitch black, 5.30 in the morning. Cop, security, he can't tell. Yes, it's a tragedy. Maybe he should have been patient. But this is why I supported golfers when they bailed on the PGA and went to the live tour. Golf has always been every man for itself.

Even the PGA was a sanctioned charity. So they were taking care of themselves. Kind of an interesting charity, right? So when everybody was outraged by it, I'm like, this is a sport that wouldn't give their golfers who were stars. Like international stars, they couldn't own their own YouTube page. They couldn't profit, monetize their social media. They don't have like escorts to majors. And yes, it's a tragedy.

And yes, there was chaos and confusion. And that is obviously very important. But other golfers were a mile and a half away in the pitch black were getting out of their cars walking to the golf course. Again, these are the most important people in this entire sport. Can you imagine Patrick Mahalms being cuffed and arrested traffic? That's a picture of him on our TV screen. Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert,

Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson being cuffed and arrested in traffic getting to the AFC championship. Come on, man. Take care of your prized assets here. Rental cars, figuring out five in the morning, pitch black, lights, they don't know what happened. They don't know of the tragedy. And, of course, the tragedy is number one.

We're acknowledging that. But it just sometimes golf feels like a circus and it's why I always defend the golfers over the event. It's every man for himself. They're all independent contractors. It's also why you'll find broadcast employees and NFL employees often very loyal to the NFL or a Fox or a CBS or an ABC because they're treated well.

They're protected. They're promoted. They're marketed. They can own their own YouTube page. Just a thought. Sheffler, by the way, on the course. obviously a tough day for him and everybody involved in this

a lot of good people in this sport in this event it's not pick on Louisville that's not it's not about Louisville it's just about a circus and golfers out of their car walking up there by themselves pitch black the number one guy in the world getting cuffed we've got to do better

speaking of got to do better so Caitlin Clark 28th year of the WNBA they have never had a player either good enough or interesting enough to drive marketing, revenue, and TV ratings so that the entire league can fly private.

They fly commercial like the rest of us. That doesn't mean they haven't been good players, very good players. But Caitlin Clark, who's never played until a week ago in a WNBA game, is the first player that appears, they're banking on her. And I say banking literally.

They're literally going now to private flight. for two years. The money they're going to spend on that's more than the WNBA payroll. So they finally have this moment. Don't put Caitlin Clark up in the first four games against New York twice and Connecticut twice. The best defensive teams. The NFL gets Jim Harbaugh in the league. What does the NFL do?

They give the Chargers the two potentially easiest games on their schedule. Caleb Williams to Chicago. So whereas the NFL has. has the chargers facing the Raiders at home. The NFL with Caleb Williams in Chicago won't have them playing the very good Packers until week 11. Why? They want Caleb Williams to get his sea legs, open up with Tennessee, give him a fighting chance, not a lot of TV exposure until weeks 1517.

They figured it out. Connecticut, the New York Liberty twice. Connecticut twice. Caitlin Clark's struggling. She struggled last night. You've got to take advantage of these opportunities. You know, a great example. The MLS, and it's closer to the WNBA than it is the NFL,

they made sure Beckham got to Los Angeles. They weren't going to put a middle of the country. They made sure he got to Los Angeles. Have you noticed with Messi? The MLS has a salary. cap. I was told this morning, Messi makes more than all but four teams. What about the salary cap?

Whatever. Sometimes you got to make stuff work. David Beckham got to L.A., Messi got to Miami. I'm not sure if it was the Illuminati, secret handshakes, smoke-filled rooms. Make it work.

Caitlin Clark, this may be, I mean, when Tiger Woods came on to the the tour. It was still, it was the tour. But Jack Nicholas getting older, they needed a driving star. They just made stuff work for Tiger. Well, I should say this, the networks did. The NFL. Remember that year when Goodell was having to defend the catch rule in the NFL? It got real murky for two or three years. And then in the Super Bowl, Philadelphia, New England, huge numbers, great game. They change the catch rule in the Super Bowl.

Sometimes what Super Bowl halftime shows. You lip sync. Make it work. Just figure it out and make it work. Caitlin Clark's opening with the Liberty twice, the Connecticut Sun. I don't know what they have to do. I don't know if they have to change the trade rules. If they have to get her better players, lighten up the schedule.

But this is the 28th year. This is the first place. player that is driving revenue and interest so that the draft for the WNBA tripled the WNBA finals. Tripled it. That's insane. I watched

it. I could barely tolerate the NBA. I don't even know if I'll watch it this year. I don't know who the players are. Sometimes you just have to get stuff done. You just have to figure it out. Get messy paid. Get back into L.A. Get Caitlin Clark an easy schedule. The NFL acknowledges.

Chicago, New York Jets, Aaron Rogers. We don't know what the Jets are going to do by week 12, but we're going to get them on TV as much as we can early. The NFL is totally authentic about that. They were quoted yesterday. A guy in the NFL is like, well, you know, the Jets always won. So we're going to squeeze every bit of juice out of the orange we can with Aaron Rogers and get them on TV a bunch early.

Light, easy schedule early, but television early, to let Aaron shine. WNBA, you've got to do better. you got to help Caitlin Clark because for the record when Tiger came to the tour everybody won the tournaments won the other players won the purses went up the networks made it work

networks for changing programming whatever whatever you got to do change the programming got to do a better job of that all right so two of the strangest opens I've ever had to a show the golf thing is just a tragedy and chaos

I just feel bad for everybody. Also, we said this yesterday in our show. We said this yesterday that bet the Minnesota Timberwolves. Now, we didn't say they went by 45, I think it was. I gave it up middle of the third. They emptied the bench. But I'll tell you what it does show you about the NBA, the T-Wolves beating the nuggets by 45,

and it's not necessarily showing you something that's a bad thing. and I'll talk about that coming up. Nick Wright, by the way, in studio. He's out in L.A. this weekend. It's four. I think I'd take Denver to win. But I think they'll roll. But I would say this, what it really shows is that anybody that can beat Denver by 45 points in a playoff game, a close-out playoff game, is a hell of a team. The Celtics record against the East. East this year was 41 and 11, 8 and 2 in the playoffs. You know what the Celtics record was against Denver, Minnesota, OKC? Two and four.

They were one-on-one against the Lakers who already got bounced. The Celtics are just a team out west. They're unbeatable. They're the greatest team on Earth in the East. And the West remains the grown-up table and the East the kids table. And these Western teams are only getting you better. Minnesota, once they get Ant, a great run. running mate, his Pippin, watch out.

They're well coached, brilliantly constructed. Denver's not going backwards. OKC and all their draft capital and stars. Dallas, these are, this trench warfare. And what you notice about good teams in the playoffs, Minnesota can win in Denver, Denver can win in Minnesota. I mean, Dallas has won a couple of games in OKC. OKC won in Dallas.

The Indiana Pacers, they're not at home, they're done. Six playoff games, one in five on the road, most blowout losses. They don't even look like they can compete. So if you go back to MJ's Bulls, the six titles, half were one on the road. If you go to the Warriors, four titles, three of four were one away from the Bay Area. So the better the team, the less reliant you are on fans and the home crowd. The Knicks, I'm sorry to say, are highly reliant on Madison Square Garden and the energy it provides. But when I'm watching this stuff last night, I'm like, tip of the captain.

to Minnesota. I mean, Jamal Murray's hands banged up. Mike Conley finally back. But in the West, if you're short-handed, if Jamal Murray was just playing with a bad hand, you're in big trouble. Mike Conley's out? You're in big trouble. The Knicks are missing four of their top eight players. They're probably going to win a game seven and go to the Eastern Conference Finals. They're missing a center, a power forward.

Oh, gee, they're missing all their size. They're starting four guards and because they're at home they'll win. It's just a totally different sport. It's the SEC, the last 20 years. You know, the Alabama, Georgia run, it was like you could find the third or fourth best team often in LSU. They would be better sometimes significantly than the champion of another conference. And so that's what it feels like. Tip of the cap to Minnesota. Jamal Murray had a bad hand and that was enough to get torched by a great T-Wolves team. Really good roster. Jay Mack with the news. Turn on the news.

This is the herd line news. Start with the big game six tonight in Indiana. Jalen Brunson has the Knicks on the verge of their first Eastern Conference finals since 2000. They're in Indianapolis for the game. Josh Hart recently spoke about Brunson's late game heroics compared him to Dame Lillard, saying in my short stint with Dame in Portland, my mentality was to make sure the game was within striking distance in the last couple of minutes. So Dame can do what Dame does. and it's the same thing with Jalen.

Brunson's going to have to do it tonight without O.G. Narnobi, who has officially been ruled out again. Will he play in the next series? Should be, yeah. I mean, maybe he's there for game seven. I don't know. Maybe they're just precautionary in case they need have been home game seven. I'm just curious, on the Brunson comp of Lillard.

I don't know if I'm buying that. Lillard's more of a three-point, like, specialist. Well, Brunson's... He can make... three's but he's more of a mid-range killer. Dames a more naturally gifted offensive player. Brunson's a lot of a grinder, floaters, mid-range game, better defender.

You know, it's almost like Dames an offensive long ball specialist. That's what he does. And as well as almost anybody ever except maybe Steph Curry, so they're really actually, despite the position, they're really different players. Yeah. I don't know if you know this guy, it's not quite 70s,

but Andrew Tony, who played for the Sixers. Yeah. I barely remember him, but he was like a mid-range. assassin, stocky guard. Yes. Number 22, I think, Andrew Tony. Yeah, something like that. And he was just like a good... Physical. That's who brought... But we don't see a lot of point guards being mid-range guys now.

Well, Chris Paul made a career. There you go. That's a good one. Very good defender. Great. If you're going to, Brunson, if he has a comp, it's Chris Paul. But Chris Paul, more of a distributor than a score? Nobody can. Chris and his prime could score. He was a great. So Brunson and Chris, good defenders, smart guys, great leadership, are going to bark. You know, they're going to, going to take control of the floor. I think Bruns is a lot more

likable than Chris Paul. Chris Paul is weird. I thought like, I thought Chris Paul's commercials were funny. No, Chris Paul was demanding of screw off teammates. Chris Paul was demanding. By the way, Phoenix stunk, even with Booker, he got there. All of a sudden, it's like, oh, it's a finals team. You know, sometimes leadership is hard.

Tampa never had a leader at quarterback. Everybody loved James. Tom had to bark at people. Remember Tom's screaming? at the Buccaneers O-line in that meltdown in Chicago, and Brady screaming. James Winston's not going to do that. He doesn't have the leadership, Moxie. So, you know, leadership's hard.

You have to bark sometimes. You know, the two best teams Carmelo Anthony was ever on had Jason Kidd as a point guard in New York, and I think Chauncey Billups was in the backcourt in debt. You need that leader, that point guard, and Brunson is kind of that guy. I like it, but I like the Pacers tonight, though. It's six and a half.

Is that too steep for you? I'd stay away. Yeah, Nick's got an extra day. Pacers on the money line, but... Pacers are so bad defensively. If you go on the road in a big game, a game six or game seven, there's no assurance that you will shoot well. A great defense will keep you in any game seven.

That's why, like the Pistons, and if you go back to the Pistons, the great Celtic teams, the great Bulls teams, it's hard to blow those guys out. Because even Michael can have a bad game. Even Bird can be off. The Pacer's problem is you're getting no defense. So the only way for you to win is hit threes because your defense is awful. And that's why if I see a bad defensive team, I cannot take you seriously.

You can't win big games in a series because, I mean, even a legendary offensive player, an Embed or a Hardin. Kobe Bryant got to a game seven, the one that meta hit the threes to beat the Celtics. Remember that? Kobe was atrocious. Couldn't hit anything. But the Lakers would not give the Celtics any easy bucket. They couldn't score. And it was like in the end,

Meadow was the hero, a defensive guy who hit three. So the Indiana Pacers are going to have to win a shooting contest to have any chance. Brunson may have to go for 40. Finally, Brunson or SGA? Who would you rather build around? This is a tough one. They're both... SGA is a more gifted, offensive player.

But I think New York... Where would I rather build around in New York? Brunson. No, no. In most cities, I'd take SGA. Huh. In New York, the grittiness, Villanova, toughness, leadership,

and an organization that's lacked it for 30 years, I'd take Brunson. There are certain players that work in certain towns and cities. Brunson in New York. Brunson in Portland, nobody cares. Brunson, with all these Nova guys in New York, the resurgence of a bad franchise, I'd take him over virtually anybody not named Yokic or Luca.

Brunson, the two, in Dallas, conference finals. He was very good. Out dueled Donovan Mitchell a couple times. You could never move him in New York. He's too valuable. All right. Next up, Tua, Tung of Aloha, entering the fifth year of his rookie deal. Still waiting on that new contract. Tua has reportedly been mostly absent from voluntary OTAs since the team reported back on April 15th. The report speculates his absence is related to his contract, obviously. Tua's coming off the best year of his career, Colin.

Best year of his career. He just watched Jared Gough get. The bag. And don't give me this, well, look at the playoff game. That's one data point. If you look at the season, Tua was phenomenal. He was healthy. You said, can he be healthy?

He was healthy. Did he put up numbers? They were one of the best offenses in the league. Gough's a better player than Tua. Okay, fine. Maybe he's a $3 million a year better. Gough has no injury history, college or pro. Tua has substantial injury history, both.

That has to figure in. So Tua says I want $45 million a year. What are you doing? 37. Don't get it. I don't get an opinion as the team. You get a great opinion. I also have the opinion to walk the hell out of the office, slam the door.

I'll see you good luck out week one. Slam the door? Who's a backup? Mike White? Is that the backup performance? So if Fox doesn't offer you what you like, you're going to slam the door. I'm not doing that. That's the agents dealing with Fox.

I don't know. Well, I think it's mostly the agents deal with two. I don't think Tua is sitting down with the owner. And yelling over a oak table. Two is the franchise. Like, come on, he is. You take two out of McDaniel's offense. What are they?

Back to the Ryan Tannahill world. What are they? Battling for a wild card with about two weeks to go. What do you mean? They almost won't they win the division last year? Well, it's the same offense in San Francisco where Brock Purdy can get you to the NFC championship. 37. Do you think he's $16 million a year less than Jared Gough?

That's what Goss getting? Daniel Jones got 40. Well, that's a bad content. I don't care. He's getting 40. You can't let the Giants control the league market. No. Oh, yeah, the market talks.

And if two-a-hits the market, he's getting more than 37. The Giants talked. We're stupid. Cleveland cannot set the precedent. Nobody else is getting guaranteed money. Lamar Jackson's much better than Deshawn. Baltimore didn't go, well, Cleveland set the market. Well, the timing.

Everybody does it individually. I'm not buying this. That guy got money. Our situation's different. Do you know what's different? Hey, Raiders, do you want to roll the dice with Shedur-Sanders? Or you want Tua, who could take you to the playoffs instantly? By the way.

Raiders will give up $40, $45 million in a heartbeat. I don't have. Telesco likes him. The GM likes to it. Why would you not like it? I have no problem with Tua hitting the market and leaving. But that's what you're doing by saying, hey, you're $37 million a year. Well, what I'm saying is no state tax, Tyreeke Hill, Jalen Waddle, brilliant offensive coach.

You don't think Miami's an attractive. active place for a free agent quarterback next year? Okay, great. They would be number one. There would be number one. There's nobody. Dak Prescott could be available. You think Dak's better than Tua?

I think Tua throws a better ball. I think Dak has a proven history of his longer. He's been on the tarmac longer. I got more reps. Somebody here gave me a good team for Dack next year. I forget. No, no. Dack, keep your eye if, if Dax's going to have a

tell you right now. Vegas and if Tua left Miami would be interested in DAC. No question. I mean, Kirk Cousins had a market. Kirk Cousins had two or three teams after him. But my point is, Miami's got a brilliant offensive coach, tremendous weapons, drafts pretty well, no state tax, playing in warm weather. You don't think Miami Dolphins are attractive to a free agent quarterback. If I'm a free agent quarterback, if Miami would have been available this year and I'm Kirk Cousins, I'd have gone to Miami over Atlanta. I get Tyree Kill, Waddle, and that offensive coach, or losing franchise Atlanta defensive coach. Yeah, and like $8 million a year more. I don't know, what's a state tax situation in Nevada? I don't know. Raiders. Zero, zero state tax.

He is not, I'm sorry, he is not definitively significantly better than any of those quarterbacks, Colin.

Jared Goff, come on. He's that much better than Jordan Love? At this point, I have a big full resume of Jared Goff's two NFZ championship with two teams. Jordan Love's giving me eight good weeks. Jordan Love's going to get his money. He's just not going to get it now. This idea that you have to pay everybody early, this is not the NBA. What do you mean early?

It's not early. He's got a year left in his contract. And if he gets injured this year with an ACL or something, he's screwed and he's not getting paid at all. That's not right. In today's medical advancements, an ACL. Joe Burrell's been hurt four times. He's up right now. You're ready to move off if he gets hurt again.

Kurt Cousins just got $188 million. As an old man with an Achilles surgery. If Jordan Loves tears his ACL, they're not moving off Jordan Love. They heal it. Fine, fine. Let's say his throwing shoulder. Something real scary. Come on, man.

You've got to protect these guys. You have to. There's a difference between protecting a golfer. getting into a tournament and giving somebody 240 million when I just want like six more starts. You're conflating two things. Like the Packers are going to sign him. Okay, so let's say they have six starts. We now have the Packer's schedule.

And he goes five and one. It looks great. Okay. They'll be working on that deal. I don't know if we can pull the Packer schedule instantly. But, oh, hey, look, we can. Technology is amazing. So they start with the Eagles.

It's a tough game. The Colts game is not going to be a cakewalk. they should handle the Titans and the Vikings. It will not be about winning and losing if he plays Anthony Richardson and looks like the second best quarterback and Jalen Hertz and looks like the second best quarterback and gets outclassed by Matt Stafford and Kyler and C.J. Stroud. Yeah, so then what? Then you're like, guys, our personnel's equal.

We have to reconsider what we pay him. Oh, interesting. My rule in the NFL has always been the same. pay huge money very infrequently and only to quarterback left tackle edge weapon. That's it. I'm not paying corners. I'm not paying linebacker safeties. It's four positions.

Quarterback left tackle, edge rusher or interior dominant lineman and a weapon or two. So in theory, that works. But, Colin, there's this thing called chemistry that kind of sort of matters. What's it going to do to the locker room? What's it going to do to the franchise? If you screw around with Jordan Love, all you've been saying is the Packers are the model. They got Favre. They got Rogers.

They got Love. They're set. And now you're going to mess around and lowball a guy or wait to pay him. Show that man his money and keep that train rolling in Green Bay, Colin. Come on. The train is rolling. And the train will continue to roll. Just because it doesn't make an unnecessary stop in your town doesn't mean Amtrak's not rolling.

They've got a scheduled stop in about eight weeks. If he starts four and oh, this story is going to change to love and the Packers. Contract on the horizon, the story will shift. Very quickly. And then the price, what's the line from the wire? Today's price isn't what yesterday's price was. And now that 40 becomes, I need to see 50. Well, he's going to get more than 40.

So Tua is at 37 and Lentua has an injury history in college and the pros. Jordan Love has none. And he's also a bigger quarterback. He's more athletic. I think he's got a better arm. Jordan Love, in terms of size, mobility, whip, injuries, beats two and all those. All of them. I don't disagree.

I'm watching Jordan Love against Dak, and it's not close. Jordan Love's better. It's not close. The way you talk about him is like, just. Pay the guy. I mean, give him a lot of them. You love him. I love my kids. They're not getting anything until I'm in a casket. There's a time and place to pay everybody. I'll be gone. J. Mack with the news.

So I thought this was incredibly honest. And transparent. I don't, you know, we're in a time in society. I don't care if you have a different opinion than I do.

You have a perspective. You can be a kicker for Kansas City, a quarterback for Green Bay. You can have a different opinion. I've said this about Aaron Rogers. I think he's gotten a little kooky. The darkness retreats, ayahuasca, whatever. He can have his opinion on vaccines. A lot of people had that, you know, got rushed to the market.

You know, there was conflicting evidence on some of the vaccine stuff. It's just an opinion. point of view. You can have one. It's okay. I don't have to agree with it. Just give me honesty. Give me your honest opinion, and I'll deal with it. But it's just a perspective. But the NFL just opened up and admitted something on the NFL's NFL schedule. And the New York Jets, which they jammed a lot of their early games, very little rest, night

games, television. And Mike North, the vice president of broadcast planning, said, yeah, it's a lot of games in prime time, but we kind of feel like the Jets owe us. he goes, we had this conversation a year ago, and then Aaron Rogers, four plays in, gets hurt, and we had all these TV games for the Jets. So I feel like we could run it back. Our broadcast partners, said Mike North, when they came to us early in the process, to talk about what storylines they want to focus on early in the season,

the networks, obviously Aaron's return was a key one for everybody. The NFL admitting were a television show. We're a sport first, but 1A, the size. car is we're a television show we talk to our partners our partners say eight months ago yeah these games this feels like we'd and then we put the games up and we move our schedule and we manipulate our schedule they pursue the best stories they don't necessarily create the story no the league's not rigged or aaron rogers doesn't get hurt last year they don't rig it they don't create it but they pursue it and they help market it and they can manage

manipulate the game. Sort of how I do my show. How come you don't give us credit? I'm not Visa. You get interesting. I'll talk about you. You're not. I won't put you on the show or I'll put you on later.

So the only downside to having a star quarterback. And this is about the only one. I mean, they're expensive. They can limit some salary stuff. The other downside is your schedule, you will get a lot of inconvenience. The Kansas City Chiefs in December, three games,

10 days all against playoff teams last year. And the Jets have six inconvenient night games. I looked this morning. The Chiefs play on Sunday, Thursday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. They only get Tuesday off this year. And it's all due to Patrick Mahomes. So I just appreciate the NFL's willingness to be frank and honest that they're a television show. And I think a lot of other leagues kind of struggle with this.

And they're like, no, we want the Chargers to start. start well, so we gave them the Raiders at home, easier than playing in Vegas, and we gave them Carolina. And we want Caleb Williams and Chicago a major market to help Fox, our broadcast partner, so they don't have to play the Packers the first time until week 11. Packers are really good. So Gadell gives the Chargers Harbon Herbert the weakest team in their division, week one, at home.

They don't make Caleb Williams play the Packers an excellent team, maybe the best team in their division, till week 11. that's not a mistake. They've got to play them anyway. The NFL, I've said this for years about March Madness. If I was TNT or CBS or whoever pays billions of dollars for the tournament, if I'm paying for the wedding, I get to make up the seating chart. I don't get to pick the teams if I'm TNT or CBS,

but I'm going to tell you who I want to play each other in the second round. I'm paying for the wedding. I get some say. And so, yeah, the downside is they did this a couple of, a couple of years ago, the NFL did, where they stacked Russell Wilson and Denver early, and then when they stunk, they disappeared. So Aaron's got all his games on TV early, none late. But the NFL has flex scheduling.

And so if they want to get Aaron back, they protect themselves Sunday night football flex scheduling. Peter Schroger talked about the jet schedule. If you ever thought the NFL was scripted, I promise you, the last thing the NFL wanted was to lose Aaron Rogers for snap. into the 2020-3 season. So now they're going to load up the front of the schedule with the New York Jets. And there is an expectation that Rogers is healthy, that this is the number one media market in the world,

and that that same story that kept us afloat last year with hard knocks and all the hype and all the expectations is going to carry over to this year. The NFL shows their cards a little bit by who they put on early on in the season and who they promote in these primetime games. And my takeaways are the NFL is a lot higher on the Jets. That's, yeah.

For the record, JMAQ, 45 minutes ago, I started the show lamenting the WNBA. So unlike the NFL, which is sort of grooving Kayla Williams to a potentially easier start, doesn't guarantee anything, but it can help. The WNBA, with a bad Indiana fever team, hasn't played the Connecticut Sun, a top defensive team twice in the first four games, and the New York Liberty twice. to one of the better teams. Schedule bad teams. Give Caitlin Clark

a little bit of help early on. She struggled in the game last night. So it's like, oh boy, MLS is a great model for the WNBA to follow. They have just made sure Beckham got the best possible way to succeed. Messy got the best possible way to succeed. And again, I don't know if you, You have to move up a trade deadline, get Indiana better fast.

Well, Colin, what are you saying? I'm saying leagues manipulate schedules. There was something a couple years ago that happened, JMAQ. It was rumored. I don't know if it officially happened. Remember when the NBA put up an amnesty contract deal? Because the Knicks were so buried in contracts. I know it was discussed.

I don't know if they went through with it. But there was like this amnesty rule they were talking. about that everybody, if you had a really bad contract, I mean, you've got so many things happening in collective bargaining. Sometimes you just have to change stuff on the fly. So the WNBA, this is your Tiger Woods.

You just got to figure stuff out fast. Like really, really fast. And NFL, and I've been on this for years, they absolutely work their schedule to put stars in early. If we have to put them on late, we'll flex it. If not, we'll bury them. And there you go.

Did you see this, J. Mack? I'm not going to, I'm going to talk about it to leave next hour, but it's an interesting story. So Donovan Mitchell, you've been high on him coming to the Lakers. Yeah, okay. NBA rumors. Donovan Mitchell grew frustrated by some of the Cleveland Cavaliers' lack of maturity and focus. Now, when I read that story, tell me the NBA, star that has never liked playing with young players.

Who? Could it be LeBron? That's why Donovan Mitchell, you talk about the Lakers, I can guarantee you Donovan Mitchell and LeBron's people would be talking. LeBron James, there was a certain player that played in the Eastern Conference for years, and his people contacted LeBron and LeBron's people. And LeBron's smart group was like, no, he's too immature. he's really, really good, but he's an idiot.

He's just on a grown-up. So LeBron's history, I mean, he was in L.A. about a year. He was moving off the young guys. Remember, he went to Cleveland. Give me Kevin Love, not a number one pick. I don't want to take a chance that Andrew Wiggins isn't ready to play.

So LeBron, look at his history. No interest playing with young guys. Donovan Mitchell, making sure. Telling somebody if it's on the rumor mill, I don't like playing with the young guys. young guys.
