Wherever you may be and however you may be listening. Thanks for making us part of your day. J-Mack, we have had a very busy, very frenzy, very frenes.

Week. There'll be a little more movement today. Albert Breyer in about an hour to talk about the rumblings. Cowboys, though, haven't done anything surprised by it? Not particularly. The only people who've had a better week than us, Kirk Cousins, right? Because he got paid. Otherwise, he's two great shows in the books. And you had Iona last night, right? College Hoot? Yeah. Oh, when in doubt, go Iona. One of my rules, go Iona. So, I don't normally pay too much attention to Des Bryant former cowboy receiver. But he did say something that I thought was interesting.

On X, get ready to take the blame, Dak, because I really don't see any help coming your way unless a miracle happens. Everybody in the NFCEs made moves and got better during free agency except the Cowboys. Well, they did re-sign their long snapper, so there's that. We've said this for years. The Cowboys tend to be really, really insular. it's a small family business worth a lot. They believe their draft picks are the players of the future.

Almost always, and I think that's a problem. I'm not a big believer in spending big on free agency, but you've got to spend something because the Eagles got better. Washington's getting significantly better, the Giants who knows. But as of today, there's a very poor running back class. This is a bad running back class. There is no first rounder, arguably no second rounder. the Cowboys running back right now, this is their running back, is tiny sixth round pick deuce Vaughn.

That's it. It's why the smart people and the smart teams are gobbling up running backs. Doesn't it feel like running backs are having a very good offseason? Jim Harbaugh and John Harbaugh have gone out and gotten a top running back. Derek Henry to the Ravens. Josh Jacobs to the Packers, a well-run franchise. People like Adam Peters, the new GM in Washington, he goes and gets Austin Echler from the Chargers,

a running back that can catch and run. Texans had a great draft. Nick Casario, they're very smart young GM. They go out and get Joe Mixon, Sequin Barclay to the Philadelphia Eagles, Gus Edwards to the Chargers. So the smart coaches and the smart teams are saying, it's a bad running back draft.

Let's gobble up the guys we have, the right price. Cowboys, nothing. And why does it matter? Because there are some sobering numbers and data on Dak Prescott that are almost hard to believe until you look at him. Since Dak Prescott has been in the league, this is pretty amazing. When he gets 30-plus rush attempts behind him, he's virtually impossible to beat, 53 and 7. Less than 30 rush attempts, he's not a very good quarterback, 20 and 34. But this is more so. If Dak just gets 100 yards rushing, again, he's Mahomes, he's 64 and 17. If he gets less than 100 yards, Deck Prescott has nine career wins.

That's it. And the Cowboys are making no move at running back. It is very clear, indisputably, inarguably clear. Dak is a completely different quarterback with a run game. Now, Josh Allen and Mahomes are. or better quarterbacks, they don't need it. I mean, Mahomes and Josh Allen regularly in big wins, playoff wins, they're the leading rusher.

That was Mahomes in the Super Bowl. But once again, the Cowboys fall into this. We're smarter than everybody else. We're just going to go back with our guys that we drafted. For the record, the very well-run Philadelphia Eagles, who have been to three Super Bowls since the last time the Cowboys were in one, it's a revolving door of running backs.

they're acknowledging all the time. Hey, this receiver, AJ Brown, he's better than the guys we drafted. Hey, this running back, Sequin Barclay, he's better than the guys we drafted. The Eagles have no problem acknowledging, and this is what smart companies do, we don't have all the answers, some of our draft picks, we guessed wrong, our scouts missed, we'll go buy somebody on the market for a reasonable number. and the way Philly's doing it, as this league pivots to offense over the last five to ten years, look at the Eagles offensive skill people.

A highly athletic quarterback Jalen Hertz moving into his prime, excellent tight end, Dallas Goddard, two star receivers, Devonte Smith, A.J. Brown, and a top three or four running back, Sequin Barclay. That is an all-star cast. You would not be surprised if any of those or all of them made a Pro Bowl now. next year. The Cowboys, C.D. Lamb and cross your fingers on C.D.

Lamb's health. That's their guy. And they're making no moves in free agency. So, I mean, Philadelphia and Baltimore have very, very dynamic running quarterbacks. Dack no longer due to injuries, runs like he used to. He's okay. He's not special.

And Philly and Baltimore, knowing that, went out and got star running backs. to lessen the burden on superior quarterbacks. Right? Lamar is better than Dak. We're going to make it easier for him. I think Jalen Hertz is more talented than that.

We're going to make it easier on him. So look at the Ravens and the Eagles the last two years, going out with dynamic quarterbacks and adding running backs, drafting star receivers, adding more players. Dallas, we're good here. Now, I do think there's one or two running back still on the market, but it is just crystal clear. The numbers are indisputable. If you give DAC, not even great run support, good run support, good.

He wins three out of four games. And when you don't, he's got nine career wins. Jane Slater does report this morning. She hears Dallas is about to make a lot of. a move. Again, they have re-signed their long snapper to this point. I don't think I'm being negative. I think I'm being honest. They don't have enough weapons.

You can't have one star receiver and cross your fingers. He stays healthy. Oh, so I saw this yesterday. And you know, from time to time, not a lot, but people come up for me and say, why don't you say anything nice about

blank team? I always say, I always talk well about the chiefs and the war and, you know, teams that win. I spoke nice about Michigan this year and Washington this year in college football. Oregon, win more games. Stop blaming the messenger.

So I saw this yesterday and it made me chuckle. Steeler fans, you know, prime number two, number three fan base in the NFL. And Steeler fans think I don't like them. But what I just keep doing is pointing out that they keep rinsing and repeating something that doesn't work. So yesterday, the Steelers traded a very talented young receiver, Deontay Johnson, to Carolina for an okay cornerback.

And they also spent a fortune on a linebacker, linebacker Patrick Queen. And I just laughed. If I said to you, hey, there's this NFL team yesterday. You're busy. You didn't see what happened in the NFL. I say, hey, this team. and they traded a really promising young receiver for an average corner,

and then they paid a fortune for a linebacker. Who do you think it is? Oh, well, wait, I'll give you another hint. They will once again lead the NFL in defensive spending this year by $30 million. Well, I'll give you another hint. They spent the second least amount of money in the NFL on offense. I'll give you another hint. They still can't get the offensive line right for like the fifth or six year.

At this point, if you can't figure out it's the Steelers, you're not paying attention. This is what they are with Mike Tomlin. And I've been saying this on free agency. The Rams went and paid in the last year a lot for two offensive guards. No defensive coach would do that. They want to pay safeties and linebackers. Rams are not going to pay a fortune for a linebacker. Steelers did.

Defensive coach. Making $15 million a year. Power in the building. Pound the gavel. Pound the table. Young GM, new GM listens. I like Mike Tomlin. But at some point, we've got to be honest here.

Denver and Sean Peyton, offensive coach, rebuilt their line, their offensive line in one-off season. They had a top 10-0 line this year, Denver. Look it up, PFF. Andy Reid did it several years ago in one year, Sean McVeigh did it

in eight weeks this past year. Now, the GMs in all those cases, they get credit two. But three offensive coaches rebuilt their offensive line in weeks or months. We're going like five, six years. Steelers can't get their own line right.

So as long as Mike Tomlins, the head coach, just understand. The Steelers will never be terrible, but they are viewed as a defensive first, spend your money on defense, make your moves on defense, stack your defense first as the league pivots to an offensive league. Why don't you say anything nice about our team?

If you keep doing stuff over and over and you lead the NFL and defensive spending again by a long shot and you don't spend money on offense and you're always looking to go cheap, Trebisky Russell Wilson on quarterback, and I actually like the Russell to the Steelers move, this is what you are in the AFC, which is a gauntlet of 10 of the top 12 to 13 quarterbacks in the National Football League is the entire culture and league pivots

to the other side of the football. I mean, Belichick looks outclassed. Pete Carroll couldn't get it right. How come you don't say anything nice about our team? I'm just telling you what you're doing, what's transpiring, and what it looks like over and over

again. All right, Jay Mack, I don't know about you. but it sounds like Aaron Rogers could be on the presidential ballot here in no time. Very exciting news. I thought you were going with some Taylor Swift lyrics. I don't know about you. I'm feeling 22. Listen, man.

Am I wrong? I think a large portion of Jets fans would be thrilled if he were on the vice presidential ticket. And not on the sideline this fall for the Jets. Just press the restart button and let's get rid of them. I mean, honestly. Isn't he the same guy who said, let's get all the BS out of the building? two months ago? He's like, non-football stuff, let's get it out of the building.

And now he's running on a ticket with a conspiracy theorist. Well, remember, you are the company you keep. You are your friends. Yeah. So if your friends are clickbaiters or monetize headline people or famous podcasters, or that's the company you keep. Yeah, he hangs out with the Joe Rogan crap. people, people that are seeking headlines for various reasons.

That's okay. And there's nothing wrong with that. I like some Rogan podcasts. I don't mind. I'm not, but when that's your company, you are the company you keep. So I want to talk about Aaron, because I really don't have a problem with non-politicians running for office or being part of a ticket. If Mark Cuban would run, I'd be happy. I mean, do you think I'm happy with this ballot?

I know you're not. Wait, what? You know, what about you? Are you any shot you run for president? Not even, I wouldn't even be a mayor of a small rural town. You and Russell Wilson? I've always said I like my quarterbacks to be quarterbackial. You know what I mean? I always try to be, I also don't like my quarterbacks to be too noisy, even though I understand you're a celebrity. That's kind of a general theme on this show. So there's a story yesterday. Listen, this stuff makes me laugh at this point. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. confirmed to a newspaper that Aaron Rogers and former pro wrestler Jesse Ventura are his potential running mates.

Now, Ventura was also sort of a contrarian governor of Minnesota. Interesting cat. The domain name Kennedy Rogers.com was registered last week using a go-down. Daddy host. Can you imagine 30 years ago hearing that? Kennedyrogers.com registered using a go daddy host. Whatever that means. First of all, I don't have a problem with any non-politician running for office and being elected. I mean, listen, our current politicians are struggling to figure out our homeless issue, our borders, and our kajillion dollar debt.

I'd love to see Mark Cuban run for president. Fresh set of eyes. Secondly, just because Robert Kennedy Jr. wants Aaron Rogers, he likes him. So what? A lot of people like Aaron. Doesn't mean Aaron asked to be a running mate. Somebody's interested in him.

You know, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., probably not somebody I'm going to vote for. A little conspiracy friendly, but whatever. I don't have a problem. You vote for who you want. But this is. exactly what you get when you acquire Aaron Rogers. And this is why the Green Bay Packers this morning are laughing their butts off. This is hysterical.

They have a young, focused, talented team. They just got to the playoffs and blew out a really good team. They have Jordan Love, who, by the way, was second in the NFL and passing touchdowns last year and could be first next year because their tight ends and receivers are getting better by the minute. And what the Jets have is a quarterback that makes zany headlines three times a month. now this does beg some key political questions can you do a darkness retreat at camp david i don't know maybe sean hannity will give us an answer do they test for iawasca at the white house well hunter biden hung out there i'm sure it'll be okay but seriously you are the company you keep and when

your buddies are headline seeking monetizing clicking buddies this is what you get. And Aaron, it wasn't long ago, about a month and a half, two months ago, said, we got to get everything that's not football out of the locker room. As J. Mack pointed out. And I will say this. I've never been a fan of noisy quarterbacks. Let's go to the last four quarterbacks who were noisy. Russell Wilson, two years ago coming to Denver, all the big headlines, has his own office, going to be the savior. Aaron Rogers, same year. Talking about a darkness retreat, not happy with the front

office didn't make the playoffs last lost at home to detroit final game is a packer let's go to the previous year kiler murray pushback owner calls him out kiler murray on video games got very noisy disappointing let's go to the year before that like 2019 dac prescott's contract it's all anybody talked about jason garrett's final year the cowboys got incredibly noisy had a better roster in my opinion than now and went eight and eight noise equals distraction. Distracted teams are not good teams in the NFL. That Denver team, Aaron's last Green Bay team, the Arizona team, or Jason Garrett's final team. Noise gets in the way. So again, you can hang out with whoever you want. But if Aaron wants the non-football stuff to go away,

then Aaron's got to stop leaning into non-football stuff. Payton Manning, Tom Brady, Mahomes. They're not leaning into it. There's a time and a place for everything. So I don't have a problem if he was on a presidential ticket. I don't have a problem with RFK Jr. like him. I think all the stuff's actually funny. You know, I don't know much about go daddy.com sounds fascinating. But to JMAX's point, if you're trying to clean out the non-football stuff,

bathrooms have mirrors. They still work. People just don't want to look at them. You're starting and you're continuing. and you're prolonging all the non-football headlines. Jay Mackle the News. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news.

This is the herd line news. Just to clear up something, as someone who has hosted a website or two, GoDaddy is just the host of the site. I know it sounds funny, but that's normal. It's not that big of a deal. The other stuff, I'm just not going to touch. All right, let's go to the Kansas City Chiefs. They've made more moves than the Cowboys.

have. The latest is restructuring Patrick Mahomes' deal. Help free up 21.6 million in cap space. The Chiefs went from about $6 million over the cap to $15 million under. Does the cap really exist, Colin Coward? Josh Allen did this too in Buffalo. Well, the NBA cap has always been very easy to manipulate. The NFL's had a harder cap, but you can kick stuff down the road. You know, the NFL draft, unlike the other drafts, the baseball draft, the hockey draft, The NFL draft can give you five, six starters, right? And so if you hit on a draft, you can alleviate cap problems very quickly. You can cut guys, move off guys.

So I don't really, I mean, like, right now I was just looking at teams that were up against the cap, and it was like the Green Bay Packers, and yet they're not paying anybody on offense because they're getting rid of Voktiari, and they move off Aaron Jones, and I don't spend a ton of time talking about it. I do know Washington has a lot of cap space. The Niners don't. There are things I know to be true, but the Niners don't need a lot of players, so they don't need a lot of cap space, and they're not pan-purty, and Washington does because they're a bad football team. So most of the time, the really good loaded teams don't have a ton of cap space, and the bad team should.

So there's an analogy here for social media. You know, like, some of the most important people in society right now are the guys developing the algorithms to get you hooked on Instagram, TikTok, and they're behind the scenes. I believe in the NFL, the capologist is probably way more important than most GMs. Because analyzing talent, GMs are going to swing and miss on left tackles and quarterbacks, hello jets. But the capologist who can get the team to structure and free up cap space is invaluable, Colin. For the chiefs to sign Mahomes to the, what, $500 million deal or some massive number, and then all of a sudden, oh, we'll just restructure it.

And now we've freed up $21 million in cap space. Like to do that, invaluable. And Josh Allen, the Buffalo Bills did it. I'm just, those are what the smart teams are doing. And you look at Dallas with this Dak Prescott situation, they're not making any moves, and they're going to pay him what, you said, $50 million, $60 million?

Yeah. Capologist better figure it out in Dallas pretty quick. Next up, Buffalo. It's not not Buffalo. The Chicago Bears will likely select Caleb Williams with the first overall pick. Justin Fields. The market went from robust. to non-existent maybe?

However, according to former bear, Kyle Long, the team should look to keep Fields and draft Caleb. If you're a Chicago Bears fan, and a lot of you thought Justin Fields was worth X, and now we've seen that Justin Field is obviously in the minds of the National Football League worth Y. So this is why I'm saying you retain Justin Fields,

you keep him. You also draft Caleb Williams. At some point during the season, somebody's going to come knocking on Ryan Pohl's door because they will have an injury in their own building. They will need a quarterback that's ready, an explosive dynamic option, and that's Justin Fields. In theory that you keep fields until the draft or the season starts, in theory, it's not a bad idea. But you pretty much want Caleb Williams getting all the starts, and I think it would be a very uncomfortable, awkward, weird quarterback room doing it. I think his theory, which is, and I think this is where the bears are now,

do you just say we're not moving, Justin, until the draft, and if a team misses out in the draft, let's say the Seahawks don't get a quarterback, and they've got Gino Smith, and their Drew Locke just got picked up somewhere else, and you're like, okay, we'll have him. That may be, because what you're trying to find is a leverage point, and they clearly thought they had it here, Chicago, and they don't, your next leverage point could be the draft, and then if you don't get anybody at the draft, your next leverage point is the start of the season, the quarterback gets hurt. So in theory, he makes sense. I just don't think that quarterback room over the course of an NFL season,

even half an NFL season would be awkward. There's no chance of this. You can't keep field, right? But you can bring in a veteran quarterback to backup field, showing the ropes, an Andy Dalton, a Ryan Tannahild. I know they like the kid, Bejant, who came in a little bit last year, the young kid. But I think you need some kind of veteran presence. I'll float the name Joe Flacco.

I don't know if he wants to uproof his- So Caleb Williams and Joe Flacco? Yeah, Caleb Williams and some veteran who's not going to like vie for the job. Chicago's situation now is in order to get what you want in any trade, you have to have leverage. So they thought they had it here with Fields and the market said, no, you don't. So the draft and the start of the season are the two other leverage points. I could see holding them until the draft because there will be a team out there that wants a quarterback at some point, even if it's a second, third, fourth,

And they just don't get them. Because after your top quarterbacks this year, it's a pretty Spartan group. So if five of them get gobbled up in the top 13 picks, J-Mac, and there's only panics hanging around. So you could get into a situation because I know, like for instance, I'll give you an example. I'm just so it's out. The Rams want to draft a quarterback, probably not a first pick, but they like to get because Stetson Bennett didn't work out. And Stafford has a history of banging his hand on a helmet, missing a game here there. So they love the next quarterback.

But they don't want to spend a fortune on it. So all of a sudden, if they don't get any of their guys in the first two rounds, because they're drafted 19th or whatever, and by the second pick, they're like, listen, all the guys we like are gone, that's where I think you could have a leverage point again if you're Chicago. Apparently the Rams' depth chart has Carson Wentz's the backup. Is this at stats still true or no? I mean, I think he's actually a perfect backup because he has a little bit of Stafford.

What, big arm, been in big games before. Stafford's much more consistent and talented. I would keep Carson Wentz if it was my druthers, I would keep Carson Wentz. I think he's actually one of the more talented backups. But I think there's teams like that that are just sitting there thinking, hey, if our guy gets

banged up, especially a team that has a shaky O line. Rams don't. But if you have a shaky O line and you're thinking to yourself, we have to hit in a couple draft picks. I mean, this sounds crazy, but the New York Jets. Aaron Rogers off a surgery 40. Who did they? They got somebody this week. But here's my problem with this strategy. Tyrod Taylor, yeah.

out there's my problem with that strategy to keep them till the draft what happens if the draft goes no takers because everybody got their quarterback they said we don't want fields and now you've got him after the draft and now you're like what the hell do we do we have to cut him and take the cap hit like i i know this sounds bad and not great business i think you move him now for whatever you can get well i think that's what new england not going to be much that's what new england did with mac jones they could have played this the same exact game in new england and they just said let's just get him out of the room new england's just like we're not we're going to move them out of the I think New England could have gotten a fourth or a fifth if you go to the draft and all of a sudden you get to the second round and you're looking at Mac Jones who made the Pro Bowl as a rookie and some kid out of wherever that you don't even think is ready to play.

And you have a team that you think is playoff viable. I think my take on Mac Jones is New England probably should have waited to the draft, but they just wanted them out of the room. Get him out. And I think maybe that's his personality. But I do think waiting to the draft, it's very top heavy in the draft and it fins out. quickly and I think five guys are going by the top 15, 16 picks. I'm looking around, Colin. Listen, but maybe we should just stop talking about a quarterback who's 10 and 28.

Well, that. But I do think Seattle's fascinating because Drew Locke's gone now. So what's Seattle's backup? I think Seattle's the one that you pointed out two months ago. Imagine that somebody thought, and Brian Daibel, I think, was the guy who got him, right, John? Yeah, let's make Drew Locke our backup as opposed to going and getting Justin Fields to compete with Daniel. Well, I think Justin Fields in Seattle now is probably as smart as anything. They don't know Gino any money after this year. Gino's not the future. So if Gino goes down,

he's older, don't you need somebody that started the NFL? I guess they're circling Michael Pennix as their guy. Remember the new OC in Seattle? Okay. From Washington and Pennix is going to be there. Okay, but here's my question. If you don't get panics. So that's why the bears say we go to the draft Seattle, drafting where they're drafting 17, 18, wherever. They don't get Penick. Somebody before them gets it, and Seattle's like, we don't have a backup. Then Justin Fields, to me, then you can get a third or a fourth round pick for Justin Fields. That's interesting. Right? Today, maybe not. Because I do think Seattle is interested in Bo Nix and Pennix.

But I thought Bo Nix was a ticketed to a deadline. I believe, but that's just what I believe. But I think Pennix and Bo Nix. J.J. McCarthy is probably going before him. Drake May, Caleb, Jaden, going before. The guess I'm hearing in all these mock drafts and people I trust is that Nixon Penix will be the last two taken. Many are suspecting it's in the 20s. and one of the highest IQ offensive linemen in forever, you probably have to you probably look at it and think we're going to have to upgrade at running back. We're not going to get the tush push. Can we get that extra two yards? I mean, that's how I look at it. They're not going to do the tush push. And just know, if they lose, if they end up

going like eight and nine missing the playoffs, coach is probably fired. No, no, Nick's intro. And then you're going to have, what, a third straight year with a new offensive coordinator for Jalen Hertz? That's not great. So it feels like Philly is making, I don't want to say desperate, but some splashy moves to keep this thing together. I don't know if it's going to work. Eagles are probably top five fascinating teams heading into next season.

Well, I feel like taking a bow this morning, but as a humble honesty broker, I will not. But running backs have had a very good last week.

The overreaction by the media about the death of running backs was ridiculous. But a lot of people in the media haven't been around that long. I have, so let me just say, all businesses perpetually shift, adapt, evolve, and get new data. There's new data available in the NFL over the last five, ten years, and young GMs like those analytics. and data. And two things have been clear. It suggests that signing running backs, even good ones, to a second long expensive deal, doesn't pay off, and building a team around a star running back, Tennessee Giants, doesn't win enough. The media often lectures us on follow the science and follow the analytics. How about you follow your own lecture? The analytics say, you, you know,

can't sign most running backs, maybe any of them, Adrian Peterson, Derek Henry may be exceptions physically to big second contracts. And what have we seen? Take a deep breath. Running backs have had a wonderful last week. Why? Well, as we mentioned earlier, there'll be a coach trying to create a new powerful sort of narrative. Jim Harbaugh, get me a power back. Baltimore loses a back. They go get the perfect fit for their offense. Derek Henry. Washington has a young quarterback coming in.

They want a playmaker, Austin Eccler. Green Bay didn't want to pay Aaron Jones. The Vikings across the street did. They get Josh Jacobs. Running backs perhaps don't get the years, perhaps. They don't get the exact money. It's actually a fine time to be a running back. It's a bad time to be a safety.

Why? because the most important person in the NFL is quarterback and the safeties are furthest away from the quarterback. Guards are getting paid, running backs, tight ends receivers, and guys that chase down quarterbacks are all getting paid. Even interior defensive linemen now getting big money, Christian Wilkins Raiders, because they make quarterbacks uncomfortable. The safeties are probably not, if you put everybody on a field,

not that tied to a quarterback. So my thought always was on the running backs, not getting the money they wanted, was let the market play out. Stuff is cyclical. It comes around. Whenever I hear these absoluteism, Hollywood is dead. Barbie Oppenheimer, jam theaters, Oscar ratings up. COVID has crushed and killed capitalism. Later's report, ascending job growth.

running backs, it's over. I don't know. I'm seeing the last five days. Outside of the Cowboys, everybody's getting one. Take a deep breath. It's going to be okay. Businesses adapt and evolve, and they get data. And if you lecture us on follow the science and follow the analytics, then take your own advice.

Stuff changes. Running backs are fine. All right. Jay Mack and I agree on a lot. lot. But we have had this one player that we have disagreed with. Not Justin Fields, because I don't think J-Mack thinks he's great. He just thought he would have a bigger market. It is Jason Tatum of the Celtics, who I think is the best current domestic player in his prime. I think Steph's better, but he's not in his prime. I think LeBron and his best knights is better. AD is better. I don't

think they're really in their prime. Best domestic player in their prime is arguably Jason Tatum. And last night, Tatum had 38, Celtics used a 20-0 run and blew out mediocre Utah. But this road trip of J-Mack was watching carefully really signified what the Celtics have been for the last three years with Tatum and Jalen Brown as their star players. They blew out the bad teams, can't beat Denver, and gagged away a win against an inferior team. team Cleveland because Tatum couldn't hit a big shot late. This road trip is the Celtics. This year, they lead the NBA in blowouts. Last year, they led the NBA in blowouts.

The year before, they were number two in blowouts, with Brown and Tatum being the guys, musical chairs around them, this is what they do. They get a high seat in the east. The east is awful. Worse than we thought this year. They're 33 and 7 against the east. They still can't meet Denver, and I still don't try. Trust them late, Cleveland, Ohio a week ago.

Last night, though, whew, man, was Tatum good. He's also really good against Portland. This is what the Celtics are. There's a very Mike Tyson quality. If Mike Tyson fought, and I said, the fight goes two rounds, who you like, you pick Tyson. If I said, yeah, it's Holyfield, Lennox Lewis. It's going to go, like, the distance later rounds.

You'd be like, yeah, I don't trust Mike in those spots. He's not good there. that's the Celtics so I thought this road trip in a nutshell was Boston still can't beat Denver crushes the mediocre teams and against the

calves a team they're better than and would beat probably in five games in the playoffs they had a last shot to win and they took a terrible one but again they're 33 and seven against the east so they are going to roll I would not be surprised if they didn't

have one or two sweeps in the eastern conference. But they're two and five against the top four teams in the West, and they cannot stop Yokic because he's the best player in the league. And at any time in my life, the best player in the league is unstoppable. As you look at that video against Cleveland, which still, despite what Eddie House said earlier this week, I still think it's an awful shot to get when you have a seven-inch height advantage in 18 seconds and a pick to get the shot to win the game. So So J-Mack, this road trip, three and two for the Celtics. I can think two things simultaneously.

They are going to blow through the East and then eventually get beaten five by Denver. And they would not be nearly as dominant if they played in the West. Good, but not as dominant. I think we're buddies. You know, we text a lot, we talk on the phone, you know. You seem like you're a nice guy to me, and then you just randomly throw in a Jason Tatum bashing segment. in the first hour. There's tons of NFL. College basketball's on fire,

and you're bashing the Celtics for beating up on the Utah Jazz in the middle of March. I'm contextualizing the second best team in the league, and I watched this road trip, and I thought this literally crystallizes my thoughts on the Celtics as you come out of the trip, and you're like, still can't beat Denver, still crush the bad teams,

and God did you see the way it ended against Cleveland? So when we're out here in July and you're mailing in shows frustrated that there's no topic, That's what the Celtics are doing. They're mailing in March because they got the number one seed lockup. Nobody's even close to them. No, they look. They're up by like eight or nine games in the east.

It's like we can just be on cruise control the rest of the way. Put zero stock in this, bro. Celtics will match up good with the nuggets in the finals, assuming Denver gets there. Keep an eye on Phoenix. But more importantly, how are you not on college hoops right now? Coward. Have you been watching these games? Thrilling stuff.

Yeah. More important, more better than the more better. more impressive than the Celtics just beating down Utah. You know I'm a pro basketball guy, not a college guy. If college basketball is either freshmen that are talented and it'll be gone in three weeks or it's upper classmen that aren't good enough to play a professional, it's okay. Utah Jazz. Listen, people, I talk to people all the time. They're college basketball people over pro basketball. I grew up with pro basketball. I was a Sonics guy in the 70, a big. Bill Walton guy in the 70, a Dr. Jay guy in the 70s, Elvin Hayes and the Bullets in the 70s. That's where I didn't grow up with college.

My region of the country was not a college basketball region. It was the Blazers and the Sonics kicking butt in the 70s. So what you like at 9 you like for the rest of your life, and I'm an NBA guy.
