Starting point is 00:01:46 I'm Akela Hughes, and Rebel Spirit season two is about both of those things. As I was watching these statues come down, I was thinking about what it meant that I grew up in a majority black city, in which there were more homages to enslavers than there were to enslave people. Starting point is 00:03:47 Your observations, your takeaways from divisional weekend of the NFL, I got two more quick things I want to point out, and then it's all you on the phones. Number one, when you see Taylor Swift in the booth, when you see her in the suite, with Caitlin Clark. I did think, is there a...
Starting point is 00:04:07 I thought Beyonce maybe. Is there another woman that's as popular as those two? When Caitlin Clark and Taylor are up there schmoozing, add Beyonce to that mix, and that might be the three most popular women on her. How about Sidney? Sidney-Sweeney's pretty popular. But is she popular that popular to other women?
Starting point is 00:04:29 I don't think so. I think a lot of men like Sidney-Sweeney. How about Galinda the Goodwitch? Alpha. No, I think... Oh, she wants to be popular. You know, I would say that's a good question. Two women who is popular.
Starting point is 00:04:43 Taylor Swift, Caitlin Clark, and Beyonce. That wasn't your first question, though. I mean... Who would you... Hey, what's up, D.B.? Kamala. Megan Markle? Oh.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Women do love Megan Markle. They love royal family stuff. Kamala did just run for president. Yeah, that's all news, but... Are they the most? popular. Yeah, you're being divisive right now. I think so.
Starting point is 00:05:07 I think you're right. Throw Beyonce in there? Man, I mean, come on. That's a powerful for you. And Melania, but only if she wears her hat. Yeah. My other observation, I saw something online, and you're going to now notice this. You know how every generation thinks they're the young, cool generation until they hit
Starting point is 00:05:22 like 30 or so, and then it's like the younger kids make fun of you? Like, you know how it's funny to see millennials now get picked on by Gen Z? I love it. Because forever, millennials are the annoying, like, no-it-all. Gen Alpha's now making fun of them. So apparently there's something called the millennial pause and younger people get such a kick out of it and they're just making fun of all millennials.
Starting point is 00:05:45 Apparently when millennials post anything on social media, they pause for a second like the almost, Kavina, I'm going to record you. And go. Hey, it's Kavino. Like they're saying millennials don't trim the beginning of their videos and that's like the big joke among, probably like your daughter's generation.
Starting point is 00:06:04 It's like us using an ellipsies and getting cramped for it on social media. Yeah. Dot, dot, dots make you old and apparently smiley face emojis make you old. Now. And low socks make you old. As far as observations over the weekend, we're going to have a lot more football to talk. So I'm going to throw some UFC 311 out there. More and more of these names are getting impossible.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Just look at that card and try to pronounce any of the names that fought over the weekend. Dude, we should do a UFC spelling bee. But UFC. death. UFC 311 came original. Get it. And I was down enough to watch it. Get it? Get it? 311. UFC 311? Good one.
Starting point is 00:06:43 But Mahachev was victorious over Micano. Some good fights over the weekend. But in other fight observations and inauguration observations, I don't know if you saw John Jones was invited. He was there. But you know who was rolling together
Starting point is 00:06:58 today? The Paul brothers and Connor McGregor. Now, they looked like they were buddy chummy at the inauguration, but I think they're probably working out a deal. Yeah. Because there was the talk of Jake versus Connor. No, Logan versus Connor. Yeah. Okay. So I would say, hey, if they're paling around like that, I think they're probably also talking business and negotiating for the casual fight fans who like a spectacle. But for the actual fight fans, I hope you enjoyed your 311 over the week. kid. Now, another observation I made was just how good Jaden Daniels is. Now, we know that already,
Starting point is 00:07:39 but here's what you're hearing, and it's not what I was hearing prior to maybe this week, last week. There's not only, he may have had the greatest rookie season ever, but I think it's easy to say that he's having the greatest rookie quarterback season ever, right? Or both. What are your thoughts on it? I mean, have you seen a guy as poison as electric as he's been playing? in his rookie season? I mean, last year, C.J. Strali got that attention, and then, you know, not that it died down, but, you know, they didn't make it as far. I find him to be so much more, well, his game, his game.
Starting point is 00:08:15 They play different games, right? They're both great. But his game is so visually exciting and easy to understand. This dude is just great and so fun to watch. And I've heard people on this channel, people on TV. My buddy's greatest rookie to ever do it. And I'm like, wow, that's pretty, those are some pretty big words when you think about all the greats that have stepped in, especially at quarterback. Now, but it makes me saying, hmm, and it makes me want to watch the guy.
Starting point is 00:08:45 No rookie quarterback has ever won a Super Bowl. Now, you might say, wait, Ben Rafflesberger? No, the year two. Championship game, year two. So when you think about second year quarterbacks that got to the big game, Warner, Brady, Rathlisberger, Wilson. Janine Daniels is one game away. And I'm not saying the Eagles didn't look good because it looks like Sequin Barkley at any given moment could just bust open a 50 plus yard run.
Starting point is 00:09:14 But you know what made me say hmm about him. It made me happy for him to found a place where he gets to flourish. You saw how excited he was. He even said that again to be there to get this opportunity. He meant the world to him. You saw his excitement in the end zone. But I saw O'Dell Beckham Jr. post about him over the weekend, too. Did you happen to see that?
Starting point is 00:09:33 I saw that saying how he was so happy for him. Saying like he was one of the nicest, coolest dudes to ever strap him up. So when you have your peers and your colleagues, other great players speaking that highly of you, I think that says a lot about who you are. We know how good he is, right? We see that. But it seems like he's also really dedicated and good dude all around, which makes you root for him even more just as a player. You can hate the Eagles all you want.
Starting point is 00:09:58 Do you remember when we were filling in for the Dan Patrick show, What was the last holiday we filled in for him? Was it Christmas? Yeah, probably right around the holidays afterwards. Yeah. And you guys said pick one quarterback if your life was on the line to lead you down the field for a winning touchdown. I remember who I chose? No, but who was it?
Starting point is 00:10:18 You guys took the big names off the board. I don't remember who I chose in my defense. I surprised you a little because I said even though he's a rookie, Jaden Daniels looked so poised. And that's the one thing that we've noticeably poised. Yes, the way he just calmly. And he's having fun out there. Like, these are high pressure situations. With high pressure moments, he just looks like he's playing football in the backyard.
Starting point is 00:10:39 He really stands out. People say that about other players, but I can really see that with this dude. Like I said, his game is easy to understand and it's exciting to watch. You don't have to know a lot about football to watch him and appreciate, wow, this dude, that dude. Yeah, that guy. He's really good. You can see that. So Danny G.
Starting point is 00:10:59 Rewind. to when we filled in, you made a good call. I don't remember who. I think I'm a game wiping. You said Daniels. I said Josh Allen and Kavino said Tommy DeVito. I'm pretty sure that was a. I was prisoner of the moment.
Starting point is 00:11:17 I think you're like, Tommy DeVito. I was big dreaming. All right. Let's say what's up to Jimmy in Texas. Jimmy, what was your observation? You got a really fun divisional weekend in the NFL. What up, Jimmy? Yo, what's up, but, Amanos?
Starting point is 00:11:31 Hey, I can't wait for you guys to get a three-hour time spot. Do you guys? Y'all need that extra hour for sure. Thank you, man. Man, I just got to say, I need to preface it. I'm a Texan fan. I'm not hating on the Chiefs at all, dude. I think that they are a great team.
Starting point is 00:11:45 I'm kind of rooting for history outside of Daniels for sure. But my thing that made me say, hmm, because I don't, the Texans would not have won that game. They shot themselves in the foot too many times, but those calls were terrible. What made me say, hmm, is why, how? How is it that we can have replay assist? Call down and stop a play and get somebody out with the bank has a concussion, reverse the call on if it's an actual catch or not, things like that. But you can't have one for, you can't have them help out to see if somebody was actually hit from the quarterback position.
Starting point is 00:12:16 It's going to change the NFL. You know, they've talked about that in all the games saying how there's got to be a way to be able to change some of these calls. And listen, you don't want to get tied up. Remember when they did the past interference thing? And it was so subjective. Like, with his arm, touch him, it didn't. That was, I agree. We should not be having pass interference calls reviewed like we did.
Starting point is 00:12:37 It was a failed experiment. But if some guy is accused of roughing the passer, late hit, something that is a 15-year penalty. And a lot of times these things coincidentally happen on like a third and long. And it goes from a turnover on downs or a punt to. Yeah. Now it's, the drive continues. And you can see how it could get called incorrectly in real time. because like when the two Texans helmets hit,
Starting point is 00:13:01 they heard helmets hitting. They see Mahomes down, so the flag goes. But you're right. A quick replay on that, you would see that it wasn't a headshot on Mahomes. And anything it makes the Chiefs more hateable. And I feel it takes away from their game a little bit because they're a great team without that. They don't need that.
Starting point is 00:13:21 You know what I mean? They're already hard to beat. And now you're just given extra advantage to the Chiefs. I think that's just a bad look all around. I think you saw, I think what that game was Buck and Aikman, right? And I think every announcer on all four broadcasts, all, you know, all the A teams were out. I think every game there was the sentiment of, yeah, we need to clean this up and fix the replay process when it comes to these calls. Because much like baseball, maybe it's a separate category.
Starting point is 00:13:51 Like, it's not a, it's not a challenge for a first down or a catch. Maybe there's another category, like not the red flag, like a blue flag, something where you could challenge, like, that wasn't a penalty. Or, you know, you ever see a play reviewed and they can't call the face mask because it wasn't originally called? There has to be the ability to. Didn't that happen over the weekend with the shoulder pad? There has to be an ability to go back and see a play and be like, well, we got it wrong.
Starting point is 00:14:20 If we're correcting everything else, why can't we correct this? and I was talking to the guys I was watching the game with. I was hanging with some of my daughter's friend's dads. And we're saying it's so subjective, right? Because if Mahomes is tiptoeing along the sideline trying to get one more yard, if a guy hits him as he's about to step out versus a guy tackling Omar Jackson and tackling him where the play falls out of bounds, like it's so tricky for these refs.
Starting point is 00:14:47 And especially hearing the crowd go nuts to not grab that flag. and I think it has to be reviewable. I agree. Things that made you go hmm over the weekend. Any observation you may have made. We'll take one more phone call now. Say what's up to Doug. Hey, what up, Doug? Hey, what's going on, guys? I don't have any
Starting point is 00:15:06 hums, but I do want to say a couple things. Burrow played in the Super Bowl when he was rookie. Lost to the Rams. That was his rookie year, right? Was? I don't think it was. No, it was not. It was his second year. It was his second year. Yeah. I mean, impressive, but yeah. Marino lost the Super Bowl in his second year as well.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Look, I'm also drawing a comparison. You guys were talking about Lamar Jackson earlier. I draw a comparison of his career so far of that of Dan Fouts, who was a quarterback for the Chargers, played in a, you know, two AFC championships lost, lost several other playoff games. And, you know, I know Lamar still has, he's got a few more years, maybe five, six, seven years left, good years left. So far, his career is drawing similarities to that of Dan Fouts.
Starting point is 00:15:54 Yeah, I mean, listen, there's greats that never win in all sports. Yeah, I hope. That's not in his future. I like Lamar Jackson. All right. Let me ask you this. Go around the room. You're allowed to pick three quarterbacks that have never won to win a Super Bowl.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Who do you think deserves it in your mind? Of all the 32 starting quarterbacks in the NFL, you can't pick someone that won already, obviously. would you say, you know, in fast forward 20 years when we're, you know, about to start collecting Social Security? Like it would feel wrong if they didn't win one. It would feel wrong if they didn't. If you had to pick three. Yeah, it's easy. Easy answer to me.
Starting point is 00:16:33 I mean, but I think once you say easy, I'm going to name others. And you're like, ooh. Lamar Jackson, we already established that. It would feel wrong if he went down the merino path. Like, man, I can't believe that greatness. And he never won a Super Bowl. Lamar Jackson. You can't see Lamar Jackson went out.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Josh Allen. Okay. Dude is great. And the other could ball. And the dude balling back and forth and playing a completely different game than Jackson. Just so fun to watch. And Joe Burrow, he just seems too good to not win one. These are three AFC quarterbacks that every year they have to not only compete with each other, but Patrick Gahombs.
Starting point is 00:17:06 Justin Herbert, you know, he's not in great favor right now. He had a terrible postseason game. But now you're saying Justin Herbert's not going to win one? No. Right? I mean. You heard of Kelvin Washington? He just didn't call them.
Starting point is 00:17:19 Justin Sherbert. Yeah. Yeah. And then Rob Parker said, I love Sherbert. I mean, people are debating, you know, that he sucks. I'm not going that, that route. But no, I don't put him in that category. Cove, do you think your boy Baker-Mayfield will ever get to the big game?
Starting point is 00:17:36 I don't, I don't think so, man. I would love to see that. What about you? You just named these three quarterbacks say you're leaving off Jaden Daniels, huh? I mean, you said right now, who's more deserving? He's, this is his rookie season. It's crazy that we're even talking about. Is this deserving or exciting, Rich?
Starting point is 00:17:53 Because we got two youngsters in C.J. Stroud and J. and Daniels. I was going to say, the way I interpreted what you said, when the record books are written, it would be a shame to see these dudes not win one. Okay. That's, uh, that is how I angled the question. But you could also take it and say in 20 years from now when we're, you know, like I said, older men, who would you be like, oh man, they never won one? Because again, you could add C.J. Stroud, Jane and Daniels, Caleb Williams.
Starting point is 00:18:17 I mean, he didn't have the greatest rookie campaign, but with a new head coach and Ben Johnson and an offensive guy like that? Who's to say Caleb Williams doesn't go bananas next? Yeah, but we haven't seen his greatness in the NFL yet. So I would say I'm pretty confident in those three names as far as being high caliber proven dudes in the NFL. I mean, all right, so do you think Jared Gough wins one?
Starting point is 00:18:38 I don't. You think Detroit's windows done? No. I'm not rooting against golf, but those are my three. Who are you three? I think Burrow is the number one guy for me because, listen, they missed the postseason this year, but I feel like Joe Burrow somehow, there's just something about him where I feel like he has that winning DNA or something about him. I could see Lamar or Josh Allen, my bet is that one of them doesn't win.
Starting point is 00:19:05 And that would be really sort of a bummer, right? And that's why I thought it was really big of Lamar Jackson to say he's rooting for Josh Allen to win it on. He's like, go out there and win it, win it all, man, do something. I'm rooting for him. So based on what you're saying, Kavino. Because you know what? They're always going to be compared together. And if Josh Allen has one and Lamar Jackson doesn't,
Starting point is 00:19:25 Josh Allen gets the best of them in that conversation. So let me get this straight then. Brock Purdy, Jalen Hertz, Dak Prescott. These are all guys in your mind that will never win. I mean, if I have to choose three, yeah, they're not replacing anybody. ideal of the memes that are going around today that it took it took jaden Daniels one year and he made it further in the playoffs and Dak Prescott has seen it.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Incredible. Hey, you know what else made me say hmm before we move on? It's not even football related. Ben Johnson did the Bears. That was cool. That's a big story today. But what really made me say, hmm, is this UAP retrieval footage that was released.
Starting point is 00:20:06 Come on, man. Have you seen it? It looks like a twillard and an egg. Hold on. Stop it. Hold on. This is real. Kavino told me he's like,
Starting point is 00:20:13 yo, the footage. Stop it. The footage looks like nothing. A former. Footage bro. U.S. Air Force guy, right?
Starting point is 00:20:20 Jacob Barbara. Just because she said footage, bro. Infusiously. Aliens, bro. People have been buzzing about this guy's footage for a while now. He released it over the weekend. So apparently this guy was in some top secret air force,
Starting point is 00:20:36 UAP, UFO, retrieval. right and he's like I got footage I took footage which is a no-no in that world that I'm gonna release I have the footage of me retrieving what they say is a UAP this footage is blurry than there's a Bruder film so they have they've released over the weekend I'm watching it right now aerial footage this is this is real it's like um what's it called when it's in green and black night vision yeah you know night vision footage of him operating the helicopter that's hoisting this, it's an egg.
Starting point is 00:21:12 It's basically a Mork and Mindy egg that the aliens travel in through telepathy is what he's saying. And you can see it's a perfectly shaped, perfect egg shaped. They're saying UAP or orb or whatever it is, but that is what they're saying is going on here.
Starting point is 00:21:30 They're retrieving a UAP in that video. Made me say, hmm, made me say, wow, they were really onto something in Mork and Mindy. Who's the guy that does that? does the late night like UFO show. Wow.
Starting point is 00:21:41 George Norrie. Are you going to fill in for him and Dan Patrick? Dude, this was a big story in the alien world for sure. Like this is, look it up. And here's why I was a big story. Yeah. There's so many people that are like under, it's like, be sure to drink your oval team. Underwhelming.
Starting point is 00:21:58 People are like, that's the video, an egg. And then other people are like, wow, man, that's incredible. It's like one of those really split down the middle things. But it's actually, they're saying, the footage is real. The footage is supposed to be real. What it is? Because it's from the U.S. Air Force.
Starting point is 00:22:15 Yeah. This guy's a credible source. Says, I mean, it's not a guy. He's not a guy. Right. I mean, his resume. Give me 20 minutes and a word doc. And I can give you a resume.
Starting point is 00:22:24 Says the egg encountered the U.S. Navy fighter planes. Right. So, hey, think of it what you will. Believe it or not. Probably a giant rock. But I'm telling you what happened over the weekend that you may have missed and made me say, You know what, Kavino told me about? He goes, I hope it probes spot first.
Starting point is 00:22:42 And you know what? I'll gladly accept it if I'm wrong. You know, back to Ben Johnson for one second. I don't want to get off of your alien topic, but just one thought. Oh. Just hear me out one second. When you're coming off a devastating loss, a blow to the team in the city like the lines did. Yeah, it was tough, man.
Starting point is 00:23:04 Do you think Ben Johnson, when you're finally granted the privilege and honor to coach a team in the NFL. Do you think he's got a short memory or you think he's a ball of emotion? Do you ever see someone like, yeah, they lose a family member, but then, you know, something big happens the next day or you get dumped, but then you get the job promotion you want? Like, do you think Ben Johnson's a ball of emotions right now? Or you think he was able to be like, Lions, that's in the past. I'm not a head coach.
Starting point is 00:23:31 He has so many friends in the organization and it was such a journey that you'd have to think he has some sort of a hangover today. But I'm saying like what a mix of emotions. Have you ever, you know, have you ever dealt with that? Like tragedy and happiness all at the same time. That's a really interesting point. Didn't we know someone that they like lost their parent but then they had a kid like in the same week? And it's like that's like I feel like, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:24:01 You're dealing with a lot of highs and lows. That's real life and death. But I'm saying you don't think Ben Johnson's like, oh my God, our 15 and two dream season is over. Hey, well, now I'm the head coach of the Bears. Let's go. Like, that's got to be. Yeah, I think that's a really cool point. I wonder how he feels.
Starting point is 00:24:18 A little of both. How could he feel anything else? Every other member of that Lions organization is bummed. He might be the only guy that's like, yeah, that's great, guys. I'm a head coach. And I got Caleb Williams. I think he feels bummed, but I also think he feels excited about the future. In a weird way, you're feeling both.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Yeah, no doubt. All right, listen, we're going to play. last one Stanley. If you want in, you know the number? 87799 on Fox. It's my favorite game. Starting point is 00:26:38 I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say, hey Jonas, and then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:26:57 Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
Starting point is 00:27:14 help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last night, a blown call changed a game.

Keith Gianmanca seemed like a mild-mannered suburban dad, but secretly, he became someone else, a master of disguise who went on a crime spree. At the time, did it seem like a crazy idea? It seemed very crazy, but I felt so desperate that I felt it was the quickest, easiest way out. Did you allow yourself to think about how it could go wrong on what that might look like?
Starting point is 00:28:51 No, I didn't want to manifest that. I was trying to manifest success. Every family has its secrets. But what happens when you discover that your dad has been living a double life? that is not the look of an innocent man. This is going to change my life and my family dynamic forever because everything that had existed prior in my reality is now untrue. Listen to Deep Cover the Family Man on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is,
Starting point is 00:29:34 getting a racist statue removed. And here's something that should be a whole lot easier. than it is. Getting a new one put up in its place. As long as there's a politics of race in America, there's going to be a politics of remembering the Civil War. To get to school, I had to go down Robert Lee Boulevard. Get to the grocery store. I had to go down Jefferson Davis Parkway. If you're an historian and you leave out half of what the history is, you're not doing your job. I'm Akila Hughes, and Rebel Spirit season two goes deep on both of those things. The fights, the politics, the people who won, and my personal campaign to add something to the Kentucky Statehouse.
Starting point is 00:30:08 that's actually worth the wall space. We are more than our bodies. We contain essence. We contain spirit. How do you represent that? They are just fueling a fire that is really catching. You'll see what I mean. Listen to Rebel Spirit Season 2 on the IHeart Radio app,

Starting point is 00:30:57 Yeah, I'll applaud those too. Amazing legs. No, not the legs. I'll applaud that any day. Besides, obviously, doing your amazing Sunday night football theme every week and making a million dollars a week, she performed accapella. There were some technical difficulties. and then the Armed Forces Choir

Starting point is 00:36:26 Philly. Philadelphia. No, not on the list. Rich wins that round. Detroit was probably on that list. Detroit? No, I was thinking. Honestly, what I was thinking.
Starting point is 00:36:37 We were in, weren't we in Tampa? No. When we watched the Steelers? Maybe. You missed the two of the. biggest ones, one in which we're heading to in a few short weeks, New Orleans. I'm good. I would have, me and Dan Byer would have went ahead to.
Starting point is 00:36:51 LA, 8, Dallas, Dallas, not on there. Atlanta, San Francisco and Minneapolis. San Francisco Bay Area, yeah. All right, second category, basketball royalty. You have five seconds to name an NBA player who had their jersey retired by multiple teams. 14 answers on the board in one player whose number is retired league-wide. All right, once again, NBA player who had their jersey retired by multiple teams.
Starting point is 00:37:18 Brian, you're going to be up first as soon as the clock goes now. Corrine. Yes. And let's see, Rich. Multiple teams. Three, two, one. LeBron? In the future.
Starting point is 00:37:39 Are you serious? Are you serious? Corrino. I have to go shack on that one. Shack. Yes. Back to Brian. in the future.
Starting point is 00:37:48 Moses. You said Moses below. Yes, on the list. Bill Russell. Bill Russell, the our league-wide, yes, sir. Back to Brian. Oh, stop.
Starting point is 00:38:04 Magic got me. No. I think Brian's out of there. What's the league-wide answer? I got it, Bill Russell. Oh, that's the league-wide answer. Oh, that's the league-wide answer. No, Vino is the winner of that round.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Yeah. How are you guys not get Michael Jordan in there? I was his retired by? The Wizards? Yes. That's the weakest answer in retirement of all time. Still counts. Barkley.
Starting point is 00:38:29 Drexler, Dekemey Matumbo, Dr.J. There's a whole list. Honestly, we could do that again next week. Because I have both number one answers. I should win some. I should win some. I mean, the greatest kind of. All right.
Starting point is 00:38:42 Rich and Covino both on the board as we moved around three. The category is where the stars multiply. Stars. You have five seconds to name a team who's on the top 12 list for NFL teams that have produced the most pro bowlers in history. Wow. All right. Covino, you're going to be up first. Now, go.
Starting point is 00:39:01 Most pro bowlers in history. 49ers got to be there. 49ers are on the list, number three with 343. Yes, sir. Rich. The Dallas Cowboys, number two with 356. Brian. The Rams.

Starting point is 00:39:30 Of the top 12th. Okay. Yeah, Brian. Sorry, Rich. The Steelers. Steelers number one. Yeah, that was my best. I was saving that.
Starting point is 00:39:38 Don't save. Stop saving. Covino. Three. Packers. Packers, number seven, three eleven. Three eleven. Yep.
Starting point is 00:39:48 Brian. You're so down. Browns. Browns? Not in the most. No. Covino wins. I did it.
Starting point is 00:39:57 I did it. Who do you think you are? I am. Speaking to pro bowlers, shout out to my favorite Dick Weber, everybody. Okay. Covino is the last one standing. That's right.
Starting point is 00:40:10 I did it. And it's just his fourth win in his game, but maybe that's why he's so excited. I know, that was worth it. What do you mean? By the way, did no one say the chiefs? Were the chiefs on the list? The chiefs are on the list.
Starting point is 00:40:22 No one said it. They were sixth with 332. Wow. Cowboys, commanders, Vikings, giants, raiders. Yeah, you know, I have no excuses, but I thought I wasn't going to say the Patriots. And then I said, they won so many Super Bowls. Whatever, I'm glad I beat you. You're condescending big head.
Starting point is 00:40:40 Did you hear what he said? Don't think I didn't hear what he said. Me and Dan Byer would have went a toe-to-to-to-to-on that one. Why don't you do that in your spare time? Brian in Virginia, we appreciate you playing the game with us. Thanks, Brian. Thank you, Brian. Thank you, Brian.
Starting point is 00:40:54 Thanks, Brian. Thanks, Brian. That's Brian in the front row. Brian, what do you do for work? I'm janitorial. So you married? You guys together? What's going on here?
Starting point is 00:41:05 What's going on here? All right. This is my friend. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, everybody. I appreciate it.
Starting point is 00:41:13 What do you think you are I am? We will get into. to other observations. There's a story about Ryan Clark I want to touch on real quick. Perfect. Let's see that next. His son's in the game tonight. We'll get into that next.
Starting point is 00:41:25 And it's about your kids' accomplishments versus your own. Are you more stoked about their accomplishments? There's reasons. There's pros and cons that maybe you should be. We'll explain. We'll explain. We got more Covino and Rich next. Now, we are not weathermen, but we know a lot about driving in winter conditions.

Keith Gianmanca seemed like a mild-mannered suburban dad, but secretly, he became someone else, a master of disguise who went on a crime spree. At the time, did it seem like a crazy idea? It seemed very crazy, but I felt so desperate

Get ready with me as I put on all my Yankees gear. Yes. Yeah, can't wait for that. Broadcasting live, like you said, from the Thai Iraq.com studio.
Starting point is 00:47:51 And just a quick reminder, we are T-minus 56 minutes and 42 seconds from the national championship. Who do you got, Notre Dame, Ohio State? Well, Draft King's Sportsbook, we've talked about this, eight and a half. Ohio State by eight and a half. I still like Ohio State to win by double digits. Don't go throwing me a safety last minute like that, like the Chiefs Texans game, which, my goodness, that was blowing up on social media, huh? And, Rich, we had two of the NFL playoff games that the lines were both impacted with missed extra points over the weekend. Dude, it's like Vegas nose, bro.
Starting point is 00:48:27 So hopefully you have some fun watching tonight. Again, Draft King Sportsbook. Right now it's eight and a half Ohio State. I also have it a teaser. I did a Buffalo plus seven and a half yesterday, which clearly covered. Now I have tonight, Ohio State minus two and a half. So hopefully that hits from me. All right.
Starting point is 00:48:44 At Covino and Rich. Now, there is one story I know you wanted to get to Cove before the end of the show. That's more of like, hey, think about it for a second. Again, I'm Cavino, the winner from Last One Standing. That's Rich. And again, there's a few games tonight. Obviously, the championship. But you also got Gerald's game.
Starting point is 00:49:04 I don't know if you heard about that on Netflix. Gerald's game. I heard about it. Eight years ago. Check it out. Honestly, let me know what you think tomorrow. I'm going to watch tonight just because I've never heard you come in. so adamant about me watching an eight-year-old movie on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:49:18 Gerald's great, bro. I didn't know what to expect, and I'm like, what am I watching? There's so many twists and turns of that movie. It is like a fascinating. I had to shut it off. I never get to that point where I'm like, this is, I don't. What? You miss the best part?
Starting point is 00:49:32 I have a question. I really don't know. What is Donald Trump doing right now? He's signing executive orders. Like already, right? Yeah. On first day. Oh, I thought he's signing memorabilians.
Starting point is 00:49:41 I was going to say he's at a table with a Sharpie. I feel like if they still throwing the, you know, mega. He orders. Jersey's up there. And he hands out the... Signing his leaf card right now. That's what they do on the first day. Well, hey.
Starting point is 00:49:51 That's a big. It's just that usually it's not done at a rally. Usually it's done in the Oval Office. Yeah. Right, right. Now, the game tonight, there's so many storylines, but Ryan Clark said that his son, Jordan Clark, is, you know, hyped up for the game,
Starting point is 00:50:08 but he's just as hyped. He's saying that he's more excited for his own kid than he was winning a super Bowl trophy. Now, take a listen to Ryan Clark talking about his son, Jordan Clark, who's playing from Notre Dame. First and foremost, your husband, your dad. What is Monday night going to be like
Starting point is 00:50:30 as a father? Well, one, I think it would be, from a football standpoint, the most important night in my family's lives. Wow. And he says it doubles anything you do as a parent. Like when your kid accomplishes something, it doubles
Starting point is 00:50:46 anything that you do as a parent. Now, look, If you never made it to the Biggs, of course you're going to be happy. Maybe more happy, I don't know. But I think it's easier for a guy to say who played in the NFL, who won a Super Bowl. You're going to be so pumped for your kid. I think you're pumped for your kid no matter what. But truthfully, double? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:51:07 To be honest, if you all my kids succeed. But I wonder what the truth is there. What have people said about you, Kavino? Kavina, you self-centered son of a... Of course you couldn't be proud. your kid. I get that. I, until I had kids, and I don't want to be that guy like, until you have kids, but until I had kids, I never thought I would care more about someone else than myself. I'll be honest with you. Is it obvious? Is it double? Like what he's saying?
Starting point is 00:51:31 Because it is very cool. Dude, if you told me right now, we'd end up with the most popular TV, sports radio show, there ever was, but my son succeeded beyond me. I would choose my son. It's like, you're supposed to want your kids to be you, but improve. No, you know what it is? I don't disagree with you at all. Of course, it seems obvious, right? But when you hear Ryan Clark say that without skipping a beat, it really does bring it home and remind you that, yeah, like,
Starting point is 00:52:02 when you care about something more than yourself, it's sort of amazing. Here's a guy that succeeded in the NFL still doing well. But does it have to be something you're interested in? Because I'll ask you this. Did it mean more when you were like Steve Kavino, Allstate Baseball High School player or that your daughter's cheer squad won this weekend? See, that's interesting. Yeah, it meant more for me, I think.
Starting point is 00:52:24 You know, but I was proud of my daughter, right? You know, this weekend. So I understand the feeling. But he's saying, think about it, though, put it in perspective of where your heart really is. Maybe he's watching his kid do what he did. Here's a guy that won the Super Bowl. Yeah. But he's saying that his son winning tonight would mean double that.
Starting point is 00:52:42 And I guess we could all understand that if you're a parent. But to hear that spoken, you're like, yeah, that is kind of true. and that's kind of wild because you think of the Super Bowl championship as like the beacon end all, you know, everything. Ask a legacy family, the Mannings, the Griffies, the, you know, do you wonder if those fathers would say, you think Archie Manning said it meant more to see my sons win Super Bowls than if I ever won one? Yeah, it's just an interesting question. And he put it nicely, again, double than anything he's ever done. And he couldn't be prouder of his son.
Starting point is 00:53:16 So Jordan Clark representing Notre Dame tonight making the Clark family proud I can't wait to it Two great games tonight Ohio State Notre Dame And then I'm going to watch Gerald's game bro Gerald's game bro
Starting point is 00:53:26 Weird movie man I am going to watch this dumb movie It's on Netflix Have a great night Enjoy Ohio State Notre Dame What do you think At Covino Rich and we'll see you later Arirchi baby
