Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Here we go.
It is our number two on a Friday, live in Los Angeles.
It's the hurt.
Wherever you may be, however you may be listening.
IHart Radio, Fox Sports Radio, FS1.
So, J-Mack, in my life, I do not remember a time where I watched the Jets and I was a glass half-full guy.
I see talent there.
I see back-to-back great drafts there.
You've got to feel good about it.
You forget the Mark Sanchez teams?
I mean...
I know.
I like them, but I never was a huge Rex Ryan guy.
Understandable.
A little bluster from them.
They had great, great foundational defensive pieces.
Offensive line was...
No, no, they were.
They were.
But it's, you know, they're...
I'll give an example.
The Raiders are one and four.
I actually think they have a chance to turn it around.
I mean, you don't, just because you're, I mean, Seattle right now is not a great roster,
playing out of their mind.
So you can be last place and hopeful.
You know, the Jets, I don't think have a roster that equals Buffalo or Miami now,
but I do think Sol's defense is starting to show signs of, you know, the intensity and energy he brings to the table.
The arrow's pointing up for the Jets.
I think so.
There's a by sign there.
So let's just, let's not waste any time here.
Let's do my Blazing Five.
Here we go.
It's a hot one.
Let's blaze it up.
Fire it up.
It's Collins, blazing fire.
Ravens a Giants.
Like it, I love it.
The Ravens are one of two teams.
Philly is the other one that have led by at least 10 points in every game.
Their offense has been spectacular.
Lamar's running.
He's passing.
It's amazing.
They don't spend much money on receivers,
but their top five and virtually everything.
Points, yards, big plays.
The Giants are coming off a 14-point comeback win against the Packers.
I think they're bound to come down a little.
Daniel Jones is 29th in the league in yards per game and 27th in yards per attempt.
It was a nice win against Green Bay, but I don't think Green Bay is very good, and I think
Baltimore is exceptional.
I think the Giants pull back.
I love Baltimore in this spot, minus six.
Ravens win 28 to 20.
Jets at Packers.
Jets are off back-to-back wins, 2-0 in the road.
I like him here, plus seven.
Robert Salas' defense is playing hard and with passion, but it's
The rookies, these last two drafts, last year's draft,
the rookies for the Jets are all contributing.
Breece Hall, Soss Gardner, Garrett Wilson.
They've got four different receivers, only team in the league with 200 plus receiving yards.
There's guys open on every pass for the Jets.
Guys are wide open.
What happened to the Packers' defense, by the way?
What happened to it?
I loved it coming into the season.
They've disappointed everywhere.
I think the Jets go in.
They're real.
They've got firepower.
and they upset Green Bay.
This number may go to seven and a half.
You could bet it up.
I'm going to take the Jets with the upset, 28, 27.
49ers at Falcons.
I actually think this is going to be a nail-biter.
Falcons plus five and a halfs might play.
Arthur Smith is a very clever coach.
Their top 10 scoring offense in the league.
Do you know they have 37 big plays offensively,
and you don't think they have any talent?
They're a top three rushing offense,
and the Niners are falling apart.
Bosa, out, Kinlaw, out.
Armstead out. Emmanuel Mosley out. Jimmy Ward out. Forget Elijah Mitchell and Trent Williams.
San Francisco is running out of healthy bodies. I think the Falcons can run it on them.
I think the game is quick. It's a lot of handoffs. They take away Jimmy Garoppola who watches a lot of it.
Niners win close. Close. Even the kickers out for the Niners, by the way. They win close.
But I like Atlanta the side here. 24-23 San Francisco.
Buccaneers and Steelers.
I got one rule.
If you get humiliated in the NFL, I almost always take you the following week.
I'm taking the Steelers plus eight and a half.
It's a bounce back spot.
Hey, by the way, you can all bang on Kenny Pickett.
Last week against Buffalo, he had 34 completions in the win, 327 yards, and three plays over 20 yards.
I like Pickett.
He just got overwhelmed.
And the Buck's offense is second worst running offense in the league.
So even if Tampa takes the lead, they can't.
can't run it and eat the clock.
Atlanta had a chance to beat him in the end,
and Atlanta was dominated by Tampa.
Even if Tampa leads, San Francisco will get possessions.
I like the Steelers a lot here plus eight and a half.
They don't win 27-21, but I think it's a very competitive football game.
Cardinals at Seahawks.
I don't even understand this line.
Seahawks plus two and a half, I'll take it all day.
They're scoring a bunch of points.
Seahawks are converting on 48% of third.
downs. That's top three in the league. Offensively, what do you want me to say? Points, yards,
big plays, all of it. Meanwhile, the Cardinals are the worst first half team in the league. What does it
mean? Division rival playing behind. Now, Arizona may come back to cover and win, but I know this.
Seattle will lead. Seattle, Gino Smith, with a lead, running the football, an improved offensive
line. I haven't bet the Seahawks in a while. I like him in this spot. I think.
right now. They're playing
great football early in games.
They jump out to a lead. The question
is, can they hold on?
Because Arizona's been a very good fourth quarter team.
I'm going to take the Seahawks 28, 23
in the northwest. So there you go.
I like dogs. Outside of Baltimore,
I like underdogs this week.
This is a proud league. Everybody bangs on...
You know, we always bury all these young quarterbacks,
but Kenny Pickett against the great
defense in a windy environment, threw for
330 yards.
It's not terrible.
You know, the other thing, everybody was banging on the game last night on the internet.
And it was like I was fascinated by it.
And the reason I was fascinated by it is because I think Matt Eberflus is a good coach.
I think Getsey, the offensive coordinator was doing everything he could to get the pocket moving.
I don't know if Justin Fields is ever going to be great from the pocket, but he's talented.
I thought it was a very interesting three-hour watch on the Chicago Bears.
There's a lot of things to be hopeful for.
unfortunately, history tells us they don't do offense well.
Who's their best receiver of all time?
You have to go back to the 60s.
One of their best offensive players ever is Mike Ditka.
So they just don't do offense well.
That's why I don't know if Justin Fields is talented enough to overcome what I believe is the
worst receiving core in the league in the bottom 5-0 line.
Josh Allen didn't have a good O line.
But Josh Allen is a transformational talent.
He's overcome his first three years, a bad O line and no running game.
defensive coach, windy weather.
I don't, he's rare.
He's Andrew Luck.
There are these guys that are just, they can overcome a bunch of obstacles.
There's a bunch of offensive obstacles for the bears.
I don't know if Justin Fields can overcome them.
That old line and that receiving core, I'm not trying to be, you know, snarky here,
but it's bad.
Like that receiving core, I made a comment about it last night on the internet.
And Roddy White, former great receivers like, you're not wrong.
like that receiving court does they have one number two receiver
Darnel Moody that's it the rest of those guys San Francisco
Pettus they thought he was a bust it's a lot of cast off guys so I don't know if
Justin Fields what do you can do with that and Peter King now joins us live NBCSports.com
I fit you know I've said this with Justin Fields I'm going to be patient
because I think sometimes Peter the Andrew Lux and the Josh Allen's those are like
once a decade that you don't have to be a perfect
and they can just win a bunch of games.
I watched Chicago last night.
I really do think they're a well-coached team
without any offensive talent in an offensive league.
Does that make any sense?
Well, I thought Kirk Herbstreet put it well last night.
Early in the game twice,
he pointed out the receivers that Justin Fields missed.
And he missed them because it appeared.
There's an old cliche, Colin,
that open in college football is wide open in pro football.
Yeah.
And, you know, the windows are just smaller and narrower in the NFL than they,
than in college football.
And I think, look, you know that Aaron Rogers loved Luke Getsey.
Yes.
When he was his, almost like his personal coach teacher in Green Bay.
And Luke Getsy did a great job with Rogers.
So now he's there as the offensive coordinator.
And to me, Justin Fields is not very accurate right now.
Right.
And he misses some of the receivers that he should be hitting.
This throw last night drove me crazy.
The one you just ran of the perfectly open, tight end, right in the end zone.
And I just said to myself,
Just watch this. Perfect play action.
Watch this.
And he's got it wide open and he throws it two feet over his head.
I don't know.
He's a work in progress, but he's got to learn to take shots to players who aren't wide open,
but are going to be about as open as you get in the national football.
So it's the Bucks and Chiefs this weekend.
Excuse me, the Bills and the Chiefs.
In the last week, the Chris Jones play, the Jarrett play.
there is a sense Mike Pereira was on my show earlier this week.
And I said, Mike, do you think the NFL has met with the officials and told them call it more closely?
And Mike Pereira said, no.
But referees read the paper.
Referees see the two a situation.
Referees are on YouTube.
And there's this natural inclination to protect the quarterbacks.
You don't have to have an email or a meeting.
But I do think, Peter, and maybe their hearts in the right place, I do think there's an overreach here.
That's what it looks like to me.
me with the defense i thought chris jones made the defensive play of the year for alignment they
wouldn't give it to him what do you make of what you're seeing well last sunday after the teddy
bridgewater play goes out on the first play of the game nobody sees him wobble nobody sees him
unsteady right other than apparently the uh the spotter upstairs who can he has the he has the power
to get people out of the game and then after afterwards teddy bridge
Ritter goes in, he does not show any signs of a concussion. He's cleared from that, but he can't
come back in the game. So that happened. And then the Grady Jarrett play with Tom Brady happened.
And I wrote my column on Monday. Am I the only one to be thinking that these two are connected
just in the mind of, you know, the officials and the people, you know, whose job it is to keep
players safe. And I'll just say this, Colin, on Sunday night, I made a call around to people who I know
very well in the league. And one long time, very top executive in the league say, you know,
you guys in the media, you always have overreaction Sunday. Well, you know what we had,
or overreaction Monday? What we had today is overreaction Sunday. Everybody is being too
careful because of Tua. And I think that is exactly what has happened.
the league has spent the whole week saying, no, that isn't the case.
We're calling the way we always have.
Look, that Grady Jared call was pathetic, absolutely pathetic.
We all know it.
And the Chris Jones call was understandable because he landed on him with his body weight.
However, he also dislodged the ball and got the ball.
And there was no other way he could land, by the way.
But at least that was understandable because he,
did land on him with his body weight. But be that as it may, I do think that the NFL is
airing on the side of over caution right now. So, you know, it's interesting here. I watch Russell
Wilson in the previous four years. He was very good. His passer rating is like 105, 106.
But something hit me last week and it was really stark. He has lost all ability to accurately
land deep balls. And it was his specialty in Seattle.
the raindrop. He now is incapable of it. He's, he's underthrows him. He overthrows him.
Now, there's a story this week. He had a shot. But when you talk to your sources, they're probably
laughing in Seattle. But is there a feeling that this is just Pete saw it before we did and he's
washed because if he can't deliver the deep ball, Peter, that was his number two pitch.
After mobility, that was his great curveball. That was his out pitch. Is there a feeling he's
Washington the league? I mean, there's a lot of people with varying opinions right now on Russell Wilson.
Colin, I'm sorry. I refuse to believe that a guy who the last five years, every year he's in the
top seven in the NFL and pass a rating and he's 22nd now, I refuse to believe he fell off the
end of the cliff. Okay. I think there's two things at play here. Number one, he has to regain the
use of his legs. That's part of his, his weaponry. And I don't know what's going on. I don't know whether
he told Nathaniel Hackett, I don't want to run anymore, or I, you know, I'm not, I want to play
from the pocket. Yeah. Or whether there's something else at play. And I don't know what that would be,
but he needs to start running again. Colin, do you realize in five games, he's only run in, and I'm
not count kneel downs. He's only run 14 times. Well, you know, he averaged in his,
in his height of his success in Seattle, six rushes a game. And he's got to get back to that.
That's part of his game. Number two, I understand what you're saying about the deep ball,
and I get it. We don't have enough evidence yet that he can't throw it or that he's lost his
mojo. It looks bad. It absolutely looks bad. I refuse to believe that someone who isn't,
physically incapable of doing it.
And I don't see any way that he's physically incapable of doing it,
just lost it overnight.
I don't think he did.
I still think he's going to be a good quarterback.
But you're right, it does look bad now, and I get it.
He's got to get his legs back in the game.
So he has a few more openings in the secondary with safeties and linebackers
who are aware that he might run.
So I don't buy the Dack Cooper Rush controversy, but I do think it's interesting in New England.
Generally, is there a precedent is what I asked myself.
So, Belichick, remember, Bledsoe's more talented than Mac Jones, was in the middle of a huge contract,
and had led the Patriots to a Super Bowl pre-Belichick, and Bill moved off him.
And he drafted Garoppolo and wanted until Robert Kraft stepped in,
He drafted Garoppolo and wanted to play him.
There's a precedent here.
And I think Garoppolo and Bledsoe are more talented than Mac Jones.
And I watch Bailey Zappi, and I'm like, I watched Mac Jones early in this year not play well.
And I'm watching Bailey Zappy play extraordinarily well.
I don't think it's, I have credible people like Ian Rappaport.
People Albert Breer, they're like, you know, you know what?
That backup quarterback controversy, Peter, in New England.
I kind of buy it.
If the kid wins again this weekend is impressive, I kind of buy it.
Do you?
I agree, Colin.
It won't shock me.
But let's remember one thing when we're comparing when we look back at the Bledsoe thing.
There was something else at play with Bledsoe and Bill Belichick that Bill just simply
didn't like.
At that time, Drew Bledsoe was doing a lot of stuff on his own, was making a lot of calls
that they had not planned to make during the week.
When they did the game plan, Bledsoe would do a lot of stuff on his own during the game.
Belichick hated that, hated it.
And after a while, he said, I want the quarterback to play as we have forecast this game to be played,
not making it up as we go along.
That might be harsh with Bledsoe because he's a really bright guy.
There were reasons why he was doing what he was doing.
but I will just say this.
Bledsoe, the difference is, you're absolutely right,
he was the highest paid player in football.
And that was a pretty gutsy call by Belichick to go with Brady,
even when both of them were healthy at the end of the 2001 season.
Now, about this case, look, I just don't think Mac Jones has enough currency in the bank
to be sure of anything once he gets hurt.
and if Bailey Zappi plays well is a little bit more accurate,
is doing the stuff in the offense that the coaches ask for,
I would not be surprised at all if Bailey Zappy continues to play.
Yeah. Peter King, there we go.
Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.
You know, I said this.
A lot of times in my life in a decade, there were two quarterbacks.
Whether they won the most or not, they had a wow factor.
In the 70s, for me, it was Stoback and Bradshaw.
In the 80s, it felt like Marino and Elway.
Then it was Farvin Young.
Then it's Brady and Manning.
I do believe when I watch, I know everybody loves Brady and they love Aaron Rogers and Lamar.
And I get it.
But Mahomes and Alan take my breath away, Peter.
I feel like they've kind of separated a little bit from the league.
You buy that?
Well, Colin, I think it's so perfect that here are two guys who have yet to start
their 70th game. I think they're both in their 60s. They've yet to start their 70th game,
but it appears to me, to you, to most people, and we could argue about who's better and whether
to put Lamar in there or whoever to put, but everyone would include these two on their current
Mount Rushmore of quarterbacks in the NFL. And the great thing is they're both very young.
They're both cornerstone players. And the other thing,
thing that they do, Colin, both of them are modern quarterbacks. And what do I mean by that?
They use their legs. In the four games that Josh Allen is played against Kansas City,
he has been the leading rusher on the bills in every one of those games. And Mahomes,
obviously, is a great threat to run the ball. So I think these guys, just as Brady and Manning
for the first 15 years of this century were, you know, one in one A and they were the great
matchup of quarterbacks. We are in a new era now, and the great matchup is two guys who throw it
great, who lead their teams great, but who also run it very, very well.
Peter King, NBC Sports. Great seeing you always. Peter, love your stuff. You know that. Thank you.

I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so you all know.
I mean, at this point, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table.

Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Penn State heads to Michigan tomorrow for a massive top 10, Big Ten showdown on Fox, and you
could win $10,000 playing along on the Foxx Bed Super 6th.
app, download the free app and enter your six picks in the big noon contest for a chance of the
jackpot. One of the questions is, which team will win and by how many points? Colin, I'll go
Michigan by 13. I'm, I like Michigan to win in cover. I don't think it's as close as everybody
thinks. I think it's a good football game, but I think once again, we're doubting Harbaugh.
I think Harbaugh, this is the best team he's had, the fastest team he's had. He's young at quarterback,
but I think Michigan wins and covers. Yeah, a lot of money on Penn State driving the line down a little.
I'm not, I think Michigan pulls away late.
Yeah. Hey, by the way, this is interesting. So Troy Aikman was on the ticket in Dallas,
and he said, and Troy Aikman is not like, you know, trying to create headlines, but he said,
you know, listen, if you win against the Eagles, you do start asking your question.
Do we put DAC in? And Aikman said years ago, I got hurt, Steve Berline went in, went five and O.
And Jimmy Johnson knew I was better and was the future, but he kept Berline in.
Jerry Jones this morning was asked.
Okay, Dax not starting this week, but will Dax start next week, and Jerry Jones wouldn't commit to it?
Well, I don't want to say, but he has made a lot of progress.
And throwing the ball with Zip, and those are all very, very, very important physical amending or rehab.
and so all systems on go there.
Listen, momentum in sports is a big deal.
It is hard to attain and harder to maintain.
And Dallas has it.
Let's be honest, with Cooper Rush, the expectations are lower, and they're exceeding them.
So the vibe in the locker room is, look at us.
Men like to look smart.
Cooper Rush going on a winning streak makes Jerry look very smart, makes Mike McCarthy look very smart.
because the expectations are low and they're winning.
Nobody's talking about firing Mike McCarthy for the first time in a year.
Hey, look what we're doing with a backup quarterback.
So Jerry looks smart.
McCarthy looks smart.
Steve Berline was on our show earlier this week,
and he talked about,
knew he was less talented maybe than Aikman,
came in,
and Jimmy Johnson stuck with him.
Here's Berline.
When Troy Aitman got hurt,
I came in and I had,
hadn't played in about a year and the half after my time with Al Davis and the Raiders in Los
Angeles, but I got a chance to play and went five games in a row without losing, including a
playoff game in Chicago. And there were guys like Skip Bayliss out there that were trying to create
a quarterback controversy in Dallas. Cooper's doing a phenomenal job managing all this stuff, but he
knows his job is just to do the best he can do right now, find a way to win games, and then
turn it over to Dak when Dak's ready to go.
handle it. He didn't like it. He did not like it at all. Troy really wanted to come back in,
but Jimmy said basically, hey, Troy, you know, we were six and five with you. We're four and oh with this
guy. We're going with this guy. It's hard to win in the NFL. Sean McVe says it. You can't get picky.
You win. You celebrate. You have a big glass of wine. They're winning games. And they're
winning games with expectations being lower. So therefore, it makes Jerry and McCarthy look like
geniuses. The locker room's good. They're overachieving. The minute that comes in,
now you've got to win games. Hey, McCarthy lost again. The expectation now is lower in your
winning. So the vibe, it's like when Jeremy Lynn came in and Carmelo was out in the next one.
They were just average NBA regular season games. But the sense was they were overachieving.
That's great for the room. Great for the coaches. Great for the staff. Dallas feels as happy.
This is as good a vibe as Dallas has had in five years. What do you do?
with it. It's not about talent.
Aikman was more talent than the Burlijn.
It's not about just talent.
So it's like, I think
Philadelphia is going to beat Dallas by a touchdown
2720. And I think
by Monday the story ends.
Dak will play. The story will end.
But if Dallas
knocks them off,
momentum is really
hard to attain in this league. Five, six
game winning streaks.
I mean, even for Brady in his prime. It's a lot
of games to win in a row. You remember how Brady became
Tom Brady, right? Drew Bledsoe got
knocked out by Mo Lewis of the Jets.
In comes Brady. The rest
is history.
J. Mack with the news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
Speaking of mediocre quarterbacks, Colin,
let's start with the Chicago Bears and
Justin Fields. A lot of
miscues. Peter King getting all over his case for that
miss of the tight end. Here's a miss
of Mooney. It's kind of a drop by Mooney, actually.
I can't kick. Crush Fields for that.
He hasn't been great, but Fields is kind of frustrated.
that the Bears keep coming up short.
We always get told that we're almost there.
We're almost there.
Like, me personally, I'm tired of being almost there.
I'm tired of being, you know, just this close.
I feel like I've been hearing it for so long now.
But, you know, at the end of the day, all you can do is get back to work.
That's the only reaction you have, living you learn.
Get back next weekend, you know, keep going, keep being better.
A bad combination in this league.
line and no receivers.
If just their O line was good,
then he would be throwing on second and four and third and one.
But the problem is without O line is he is thrown on second and eight and third and six,
and he's not at this point.
They have a huge problem.
You don't have to have great running backs in this league,
but you got to have a good O line and weapons.
And they are at the bottom of the league in both.
I think their coaching is fairly clever.
There's just nothing to work with here.
They have to go spend money on three receivers and draft two.
It's just unfortunate for Fields.
Remember how dynamic he was at Ohio State?
It was a great playoff game against Clemson.
You're like, this guy's going to be a stud in the NFL.
Like look at the movement, the arm, and it just goes to a bad team, bad franchise, no offensive line, no skill position.
No chance.
Literally no chance.
Now, you know, what if Justin Fields goes, I don't know, to a competent team like the Chargers?
What if he were in the Chargers' offense with that offensive line?
Well, he would certainly be better.
Yeah.
How good, I don't know.
I feel bad for the kid.
Anyways.
Moving on to the show.
the most important one o'clock game on Sunday.
The Packers and the Jets.
Aaron Rogers, you know we're hyping the hell out of this game here.
Colin, we love it.
Aaron Rogers, hey, he's got a positive mindset.
Of course.
He's manifesting a positive mindset.
I love that.
Love that.
I love that.
I expect that typical stretch coming up at some point where we get really hot.
Hopefully it starts this week.
But I think that's right around the corner.
I know this game is there's ebbs and flows to it,
and it's not going to affect my confidence.
It actually makes you over-communicate, I think,
because you care about it so much and you want to have success.
But I think we're real close to getting this thing going,
and hopefully it starts this week.
Well, they got the Jets, and then they have Washington,
argued with the worst team in the league.
So everybody in the world thinks they're going to get it going.
My argument is, I think they are what they are.
I don't, first of all, forget the offense.
What is wrong with their defense?
they have first rounders all over it.
Seven first round picks on the defense.
And the Giants with an average offensive line
pushed them around for the last hour on television.
Bullying. So I mean,
so we can talk about all you want about Aaron Rogers
and blame Aaron. But this organization
doesn't draft receivers in the first round.
So some of it is Aaron stuck with what Aaron stuck with.
My takeaway has been on Matt LaFleur. We have annoyeded him
great. Tell me the part of the Packers now
that is better from last year. Maybe
special teams. The defense is
underachieving, the run game underachieves, the passing
game underachieves. Aaron, you
tell me. At some point
I can see coaching. I watch that game.
I saw Brian Dables coaching.
Show me Matt Lafleur's coaching. I don't see it.
My favorite stat that I've seen this week, all these
people push it on social media. Aaron Rogers
and Lafleur, off a loss, 10
and they're crushing teams. Yeah, they always
play the lions. Well, that's exactly what I said.
I said, hey, Fox, go look at
who they're beating. And it's a lot of lions
and bears, which are, you know,
terrible teams and franchises. Just be careful
if you like the Packers here. The Jets
last two drafts. They
have five or six
really good young offensive players. They're healthy
and they are open a lot.
They've got real speed
on that offense. The Jets' offense,
we told you, we love their GM.
They got players. I bet the over on this game. I think they'll
be able to move the football against the Packers.
And if you've seen two teams come back from London
last week, they got just obliterated
in the second half. The Saints gave up a ton of points.
The Vikings gave up a ton of points to the Bears.
This game's going over for sure.
All right, Colin, we will wrap up with this.
Mike McDaniel praised Tyree Kiel and the Dolphins' captains for taking the ping-pong table out of the locker room.
He said it showed leadership to remove any distractions and focus on preparing for Sunday.
But Tyreek Hill explained that wasn't really the truth.
Tyree Kelle said the original table was damaged and he is working to have it replaced with a new custom designed Miami Dolphins' ping-pong table.
Oh, great.
So they put more emphasis on this ping pong table than they did Tua's concussion against the Buffalo Bills.
Like, this is a team that I feel, I know a lot of people like Miami this week.
I did not, I don't like Miami this week.
I know that you didn't put them in the blazing five.
Do not like them.
I took the jets, so you know I don't like Miami.
Yeah, this, I mean, how many times am I going to have to hear from people?
Skyler Thompson crushed it in the preseason.
Do it, he was so dynamic.
And now I'm hearing about a ping pong table.
Can we stop?
It used to be five years ago that if you did have, Dak had a great preseason.
You could buy into it a little.
Starters don't play in the preseason.
Romeo Dubs was great in the pre-s.
Great in the preseason.
He played against number three and four corners.
Those guys are working at Home Depot now.
Something we used to say that you can't say anymore is the guy was great in the preseason.
It no longer matters.
It is all fringe players playing in the preseason.
That's why they went from four games to three.
I believe they'll cut it to two,
and you'll never see a veteran take a step.
that again within about three years.
Yeah, Miami, I don't want to say reeling, but they've lost two straight now.
Got to write the ship here against the Vikings.
I'll just warn you, that schedule in November, December is brutal for Miami.
Not for the jazz.
I know a lot of people were saying, playoffs, playoffs.
Not happening.
All right.
J. Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.

Do you remember when Diana Ross
double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam Jette.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack,
so I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now, so.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross.
Because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth.
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

Billies and Braves are ready to get going.
Oh, 2.
Got him.
Wow.
Straight through, Luke shot.
Who wants it.
Swanson.
Oh, baby.
Groundball.
The first in this series is time.
Game two, Dodgers and Padres.
Machado has given the Padres the early lead.
Freeman sends one to deep center field.
And it is gone.
Bouncing ball, that's through.
In the air to right.
Betts turns around and watches that goal for Clononworth.
And this series is even.
The NLDS continues today on FS1 with two game threes.

But the internet likes cool.
He's not cool.
He's viewed as cringy and eternally optimistic, very much Kirk Cousins with more talent.
But this week, they've only scored over 16 points once, and that's not great.
I think there's reasons for it.
He just had a shot for a lat problem, rookie coach.
O-line's not great.
They've lost their best running back.
They're reasons.
but Russell Wilson
comes out again
I know
social media hates this
but he's optimistic
a lot of season left
a lot of greatness in store
done it before I'm going to do it again
yeah I'm motivated not by criticism
I don't think you get motivated by that
for me I can handle it
you know I'm built for
I'm built for the good times
and the tough times it's never supposed to be easy
So if I'm going to criticize Aaron Rogers for being snarky and Kyler Murray for being aloof,
and for years I criticized Jay Cutler for not like embracing people, always negative, bad body language.
If I'm going to criticize all those guys for that, then I have to be fair and give compliments to the guys that are optimistic,
even if it's eternally hopeful, Kirk Cousins and Russell Wilson.
There's a video out there of Kirk Cousins.
He's miced.
And he's this past weekend and he's playing like Chicago.
And he's just, he's the nicest guy in the world.
It's aw shucks.
He refuses to swear.
But I will take awkward over ambivalent a hundred out of a hundred times.
I would love to have Brady who can bark at you, but is positive.
Same with Mahomes.
That would be perfect.
But let me ask you this.
Doesn't Denver need.
Russell Wilson's optimism.
New coach. He signs a massive deal.
If he was snarky, that locker room would split and go south in a second.
He is setting the tone of optimism and resilience.
In tough times, in good times, he's the same guy.
I know, it's a little cringy.
But what if he was Jay Cutler now or aloof like Kyler or prickly like Aaron?
Would it be better?
Really?
You know, it's funny, as Green Bay sort of struggles, they're not as good defensively as you'd think.
They're not running the ball like you'd think.
Green Bay is kind of struggled, and they had a really bad ending the last year.
Nobody will talk about this because they play nice, but I think Matt Lafleur is struggling with Aaron Rogers.
I think he throws when he should run to appeal and appease Aaron Rogers.
In fact, there's a piece of video where Aaron was saying, run the ball more, run the ball more.
They don't run the ball more.
I think that relationship between Matt and Aaron is not as great as everybody thinks.
I think Nathaniel Hackett and Russell, it's actually good.
It's not successful, but I think Hackett really likes him, appreciates his optimism.
It just doesn't look very good.
And Aaron's throws always look good.
But I'm going to take it.
I'm going to take the eternal optimism from Kirk Cousins and Russell Wilson.
Because this league is hard to win, and when you don't, it goes south fast.
So three people I trust, Albert Breyer, Ian Rappaport, and for the athletic, Steve Buckley, he covers the Patriots.
These are three credible sources.
They're all saying Mac Jones could be replaced.
And I think Bill Belichick is a realist.
He looks around his division and he's like, well, we don't have Josh Allen.
We could lose twice a year to him.
I can't win a shootout with Josh Allen.
He looks at Zach Wilson and thinks, remember, he drafted a quarterback in the Zach Wilson year.
He said, well, Zach's a better athlete than Mac.
He's got a better arm.
That's indisputable.
I have my issues with Zach Wilson.
He's more talented than Mac Jones.
And then he looks on his division at Tua.
Well, I mean, Tua had a better high school career and a better college career than Mac Jones.
He's been dinged up, but I think Tua is arguably more talented than Mac Jones.
And then here comes Bailey Zappy.
I don't think Bailey Zappy is great.
But it seems to me he looks and plays like Mac Jones, but he's not making the mistakes.
He should have won at Lambo.
He crushed Detroit.
Albert Breer yesterday.
Why would you be loyal to Mac Jones?
Here's Albert.
Bill Belichick has had two chances to shut down the idea that there would be any competition here.
And Bill is boxed twice.
Now, I don't think that's because there's an open competition.
What I think that is is I think that's Bill putting pressure on Mac and saying,
listen, dude, over the first month of the season, you freelanced a bunch, you turned the ball over a bunch, and we need you to stick to the script.
And oh, by the way, look at this kid who's coming from a spread offense in college, who played at Western Kentucky last year.
Look what happens when we tell him what to do and he follows direction.
Yeah, I always think there's a higher probability that the backup will replace the starter if two things happen.
you go in a winning streak with the backup and there's not a huge gap between starter and backup.
I don't think there's a huge gap between Dak and Cooper Rush.
Dak's better.
He's a better athlete.
Dak is better.
But look at the gap between Mahomes, Lamar, Herbert, and their backups.
Josh Allen and Burrow in their backups.
So you do get when you have a winning streak, hard to get in the NFL.
and the gap between starter and backup.
Now, I think Mack Jones is obviously better than Bailey Zappy.
But like the Dak Cooper Rush thing, it's not the Grand Canyon.
It's not Josh Allen and Buffalo on his backup Case Keenham.
It's not Patrick Mahomes and, is it Chase Daniels, whoever the backup is in Kansas City.
That's not what it is.
It is not Tom Brady in Tampa and Kyle Trask.
It's not that.
So you start going on a winning streak and the gap's not that big.
And the coach is sitting there thinking,
what am I replacing?
Max better, Dax better.
I don't think anybody disputes that.
But I watched Bailey Zappy the last two weeks.
He's like Mac Jones with a little better feat,
and he's not making mistakes.
I get it.
I can get him saying, you know what?
We're going to play him until he loses.
If Bailey Zappy went in a six-game winning streak,
why would you replace him?
Why would you screw with the locker room vibe?
I get it.
