that a date once broke out a guitar, and he played an original lyric he wrote in front of you, and you were mortified by it. Yeah. It was very awkward. Yeah. I bet it was. But it's, you know, I've been in those situations before where it's not,

it was, I mean, that was very awkward, obviously, because what am I supposed to do? Right. And he wasn't bad. It was just like, what am I supposed to do? Clap right now. Cheer. Like, I'm supposed to melt or something.

Light a candle. I don't know. Yes, exactly. Hold the cell phone light. It was a long time ago. We didn't have those. But like, if you have, like, I've been in situations where people just, like, start singing in front of me.

Oh, Lord. I am so glad I'm a guy. I cannot tell you. I would not. I've never had a woman break out of guitar. Thank God. Women don't think they're clapped. I don't think they're clapped.

I don't think I present. as that nice. So I don't know why this happens, but it was a long time ago, so maybe my mood has changed. I appreciate you. I have lots of stories like that. I like dogs this week. Here we go. Let's Blaze it up. Fire it up. It's Collins Blazing Fire. Washington at Phil. Like it. I love it.

In fact, I bet this Monday night, I got eight and a half. The number is not as good now, but it's 7 plus 7 Washington, and I'll take the Washington football team. Nobody's fooling anybody in this game. McDermott and Ron Rivera used to coach together in Carolina. Taylor Heineke may not be Brady, but he completes 70% of his throws in the three games in which he started. They have excellent receivers, decent running game. Washington will be able to move the chains against a Buffalo team that is a big. better defense, but their offense right now is totally out of sync.

They have the second lowest graded offense, according to pro football focus. Only the jags are worse. And Washington's defense hasn't allowed a hundred-yard rusher in 15 straight games and hasn't allowed somebody to score over 30 in their last nine. This is way too many points here. I'm going to take Buffalo to win in the last seconds, but I'm take Washington to keep it close, 24, 23 bills. Saints and Patriots.

Like it, I love this. We got the Saints living out of a hotel for another week. This is too much chaos for an organization. In two games, I know exactly what I get with the Patriots. They're one in one, but I know exactly what I get. The Saints, first week great, last week, terrible. They have the worst passing offense right now in the league. In New England's defense is fantastic.

Not only is New England's defense, number two in the league total. but it has five interceptions this year, most in the NFL. I get a team where I know exactly what I get against the team that's given me two different images, one of which was absolutely atrocious. Patriots win and take the points. They're going to win as a favorite and cover 2720, New England. Bengals and Steelers. Like it, I love it.

I love the Bengals plus three. Big Ben, not 100%. He hasn't been good when he is 100%. The Steelers are the only team in the league, bottom three grade in passing and running, and Ben's not healthy. They can't do anything right. And the Steelers' defense is suffering because of it, because they're on the field too long. Their defense now is the fourth worst past defense in the league.

How is that possible? T.J. Watts not healthy, and the defense is on the field. entire game. Joe Burrell last week, worst game is a pro. He bounces back. I'll take the Bengals to win outright. 27 to 24. Dolphins and Raiders. Now, I got a better number than this, but it's Dolphins plus three and a half. Really like Miami here. Here's a funny stat. Raiders are the 38th NFL team to start the year with three straight games against teams that won 10 plus games the year. The first 37, none of them went 3-0. So are the Raiders going to do what's never been done in the league? Think about this. The Dolphins are coming off a humiliating loss. Teams that get beat by

30 to 35.62% of the time come back and cover the next week. The Dolphins' defense, despite their issues, still graded highly. And the Raiders cannot run the football. They are a one-dimensional offense. I think it's going to catch up to them. I think the dolphins upset the Raiders. 26, 23, take the points. Eagles at Cowboys. Love this. By the way, Jalen Hertz has the second most rushing yards as a quarterback in the league, and he's averaging 7.8 yards before contact. What does that mean? He's a good offensive line. He's got eight yards before you touch him. That's good scheming and a good all line. And their defense right now, as long as it's healthy, has played way better than expected. The Cowboys are also surrendering a lot of big plays. Dallas's defense has surrendered

12, quote, big plays this year. Second most in the NFL. And Jalen Hertz is average in eight yards before he is touched. I'm calling an upset Philadelphia plus three and a half. Eagles win 24 to 23. All odds, Fox Bet, Sportsbook. A lot of dogs this week. Only favorite I like is the Patriots. Well, I'll tell you, the Chicago Cleveland game, I think the Bears are going to play well. I think they're getting healthier defensively.

And I think Justin Fields is a dynamic player. And here's the advantage Chicago has. Cleveland's never seen Justin Fields start. You have no idea what you're getting. Andy Dalton, I know what I'm getting. Justin Fields, I don't know what I'm getting. Also no Jarvis Landry. And O'Dell Beckham may or may not.

May or may not, yeah. So this is, I think this game's going to be close. I think this is a, you know what? Sometimes a quarterback gets an opening start and it's like, you know, when Zach Wilson last week was playing New England, you just know it's going to be bad. That's just a bad matchup. Belichick, great defense young quarterback. I think Justin Fields, I think he's going to have some success.

Cleveland hasn't quite figured out their defense yet. They have seven new starters. So Lance Briggs, seven Pro Bowls. 12 years second leading tackle or an all-time NFL great 100 plus tackles in 8 to 12 years that is a lot of collisions my friend that is a lot of it's a lot

is a lot so let's start with this I have been supportive of Matt Nagy Lance I don't love him saying hey Matt you know Andy Dalton's a starter well well you've already lost the city if Justin Fields is good and you start

you know Andy Now you've lost the locker room and you can't fool players. I think you have to watch this game and then make a decision Tuesday morning. Your takeaway on this Andy Dalton starting no matter what thing. Well, if you've watched these games, Andy Dalton hasn't played bad. Let's start right there. Now, listen, I'm a fan if Justin Field starts, you know, the rest of the season, I'm a fan of it. If Andy Dalton comes in and Andy Dalton starts and Justin Field comes in later, I'm a fan of that as well.

I think the biggest factor here is the play of the defense. If the defense plays the way that they played last week against Cincinnati, it really is not going to matter too much about who's going to play a quarterback. Because when you're getting six sacks, especially going into Cleveland, you're getting six sacks. Defensively, you're going to be dominant and you're going to put any quarterback on the other side in a position. to win. If the defense plays the way they played week one, then we're going to be in trouble, you know, and that's going to cause, in my opinion, for Justin Fields to probably have to come in a little earlier. So let's talk. Bears do get a couple of people back defensively, so I do think it's a very close game. What would Justin Fields have to do? Lance, you face these young

quarterbacks for years. 21 of 30, a pick, a touchdown, but felt like under control, didn't have nervous feet, kind of felt like he controlled the game. What would you have to see that you'd be like, all right, kids ready to go? Well, the things that you already see from him, he's confident in the pocket. And, you know, the walking up to the line, helping with protection, pointing out, you know, the threats to the pass rush, to the protection, moving his feet coming around, you know, having more positive plays than negative plays. He's still a young guy. He's still a young kid. he's still a rookie and mistakes are going to happen.

But do the things that you do extremely well and show that and be productive that way. Be consistent that way. You know, it is interesting because Andy Dalton doesn't have a lot of loyalty in the Bears locker room because he hasn't been there for years. Like I get Garoppolo and San Francisco, Lance. I mean, I get guys that caught a lot of passes. He's their guy. They've gone out drinking with him. They've hung out with him.

I get it. Andy doesn't have that, you know, that reservoir of support. Do you think this could divide the locker room? If Justin Fields isn't great, but he's good, they lose close, and half the locker room wants Justin, half wants Andy. I don't think that's the way the locker room would work. You can't be that fickle in the locker room. You have to go with whoever that choice is.

I've been on teams where Kyle Orton, he had led us to seven games in a row, wins in a row and Rex Grossman comes back from health and Lovy Smith says Rex Grossman's our guy. You know, it didn't divide our team. It was, okay, that's our quarterback. That's who we're going to get behind. So, and I'm assuming, and I'm not in that locker room, but I'm assuming that's the same way that the locker room is with the bears now. Whoever's getting the call, that's who we're going to be behind. That's the guy that's

the guy that's going to lead us out. So we've been saying this is that during the offseason, Aaron Rogers, and as a bear you know all about the Packers and Aaron. Aaron said during the offseason, silence is wisdom sometimes. Yet Aaron won't stop talking. He has a grievance session every week. And how does it, how does it land for you? He, I mean, he's, he's been combative. He's argumentative. This yesterday, he said, you know, maybe I was too harsh. You have a right to your opinion. I've just never seen a quarterback this verbal, this talkative going at people. Does it matter to teammates? Or, I mean, what, do you make of it? Aaron Rogers is in a different category. And whatever Aaron Rogers does,

whether it be in front of the media, in front of his team, or whatever it is, he's earned that right. You know, he's one of the most talented quarterbacks to ever play this game. And certainly that I've ever played against. So, you know, when he walks into the room, you know, he not only demands respect, but he's going to be heard with whatever is going on on his mind. You know, as a rookie, you come in, nobody wants to hear what you have to say. But on the opposite end of that spectrum is an Aaron Rogers. And what he says matters. Yeah. So, you know, Brady this week has to face the Rams in Los Angeles. That's a tall order. Then he goes and faces New England. And that's a very good defense who can unravel quarterbacks,

even Tom, if he's not on his game. And his trainer went out and took a shot at Belichick today. And I probably wouldn't have loved that. But, you know, It is what it is. It's out there. Tom's a star. Belichick's got a legacy to protect. It is interesting, though. When are you surprised at all that the divorce is now so one-sided?

Because we went back and forth for years. Belichick is it Brady? And you wake up this morning and you're like, man, that's a slam. That's Dr. J. slammed Duncan on an inferior defender. Are you surprised by the post-divorce result so far? Well, you know, most most quarterbacks that leave don't find the kind of success that Tom Brady has. You know, he left and won a Super Bowl the year after.

You know, it reminds me of Joe Montana leaving the Niners and going to Kansas City and going to the AFC championship and losing the AFC championship, you know, getting hurt and losing the AFC championship. So most times when these players leave after a glorious career, it's like I leave and then you just, it's like you're collecting a paycheck. Right. You know, most of the court are collecting the paycheck. And that's not the case here. You're getting even better than you were years previous. So it's a great storyline for Tom.

It's a great storyline altogether, but kudos to Tom for continuing to play well. All right. Let's circle back. The Chicago Bears go on the road to Cleveland. Now, Cleveland's got seven new defensive starters. They're not synced up yet. You can tell in the passing game. There's chunk yardage available.

Kind of tell me what kind of game you expect to see the Bears and the Browns this weekend in Ohio. You have to play too. Justin Field's strengths. His strengths are, you know, he can move in the pocket. He's got good feet. He can elude defenders. Get them outside. You know, let allow that, move that pocket.

You know, don't let them just sit in there and let Miles, Miles Garrett and Jadavion Clowny close in on him. Let him move his feet, you know, run the ball and keep them off their toes. And on the opposite side, keep that offense off the field. You know, be as dominant defensively as you were last week. That's where most of the money is for the Bears, and that's where they have to show up. That will help Justin Fields come Sunday. What did you make a Sam Darnold?

He was pretty lousy his first few years. What do you make of that team in Darnel? We are a fan? What do you make it? He can be a little bit reckless. But boy, it's nice to play with a running game and a lead. What did you make of him last night? You know, if you're able to make it into the NFL,

you know, I don't typically see you as a bad player. You know, maybe you're in a bad situation. So for Sam, over these first two games, he's proven that he was just in a bad situation. And hopefully this trend continues for him. And he has to do it, but it has to be consistent. You've got to do this for 17 games and into the playoffs and do it again next year to prove everybody that you're the real deal.

Because everybody's going to that game in Los Angeles.

You know, one of the many great things you can do in Los Angeles, 37 music venues, eight pro teams, a beach, but all you small college coaches by stay in your small towns. I'm sure it's great instead of USC. the point being is people are asking who do you like. And I would say home field advantage matters. I would take the Rams to win by a field goal, 3330 high scoring game. I don't love the way the Buccaneers defense is playing. I don't always love the way the Rams' offense is clicking.

I think it's very competitive. I think the home field in the NFL is usually worth about three, three and a half points. And I think that's the difference in this game. I think it's very close. I'd probably lean Rams, but would not be surprised at all. It's 35, 30, the other way. I did not make it, by the way, one of my blazing five picks for a reason. When a game is wildly popular and gets bet by everybody, it screws with a line.

That's why I often bet like Panther games and dolphin games and Bill games. They're not as bet. They're not as heavily bet. I bet a lot of Washington football team games. So this game's got everybody pouring in. Everybody's going to bet Brady and the line's going to get messed up. I think it's a field goal game either way. I have no strong conviction on either side.

and Joy Taylor with the news. No, no, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. It feels like that Rams Chiefs game from a couple of years ago. Yeah, you're just like both teams are humming. They're both really good. It'll come down to a, like a, somebody, a running back will be heading up field,

get hit, the ball's fumbled, somebody gets a short field scores. Like, everybody thinks they know who's going to win. When you have two good coaches, two good this, too good that, it usually comes down to one play, one play, one fumble. I mean, last week, Dallas Chargers, there's a lousy call against Justin Herbert and the Chargers. That had a huge impact on the game. It'll probably come down to a call or a fumble or a penalty. Well, speaking of Dallas, Zecchio Elliott has been outplayed by Tony Pollard through two games.

And though it's early in the season, there are a lot of critics chirping about how much more Zeke is making to not be the top performer. Zeke doesn't seem bothered by the haters and wanted them to know what he thinks about it. You hear it. You hear it. You hear it. But what really matters? is what's going on in this building. So, I mean, they're not the one signing the checks. They're not the ones sitting in the wires. So, I mean, I don't think it matters. Well, it doesn't, really. No, it doesn't. And he's not wrong. That's, that is actually my mentality when people ask about Twitter trolls. I'm like, none of them sign my check. And by the way, I wish Aaron was more like this, which is, who cares? Well, look, the criticism is fair,

But should Ezekiel Elliott be concerned about it? No. Of course not. Zecchio Elliott should be concerned about his play and what's going on in the building, like he said. But the criticism is fair. His rushing yards per game have declined in every season of his career. That's the only running back in NFL history to see his yards per game decline in each of his first five seasons. So, you know, we're showing the numbers there.

But we know that Zeeke has not been performing the way that he is being paid to perform. He's on a six-year, $90 million deal. They paid him early. They paid him notoriously before Dak Prescott. because everyone was saying that the offense ran through Zeke, which I always pushed back on. Like, obviously, Zeke was incredible in that rookie season, and they had a lot of success. They also had an unbelievable offensive line, and DAC was a lot better than everyone was giving him credit for. They won one playoff game since they drafted Zeke in 2016.

Yeah. Now, obviously, they had DAC as well, but... I mean, listen, if you watch, Tony Pollard's more dynamic. It doesn't know what I mean he's better in pass blocking. But, I mean, you would prefer that your number two back isn't more. dynamic than your first, but Tony Pollard is free because he's a fourth round pick. Right, so the money doesn't

really matter. Well, yeah, the running back unit, generally you have to pay somebody. So here's what we have to pay the running back space, right? It's fine because you're getting production. It's just the two is better than the one right now. Right, so if you were getting no production and you're

in big trouble, then you're in big trouble. So they face the Eagles on Monday night. Cowboys are favored by three and a half on Fox Bet. Love the Eagles. Collins Blazing Foxx. Take the Eagles to cover. Watch. Say what you want about Jalen Hertz. The stat that's fascinating.

Eight yards per carry before getting hit. That tells you the offensive line is creating real holes for Jalen Hertz. And the scheming's good. And that he knows when to run, which is important. So Tom Brady's trainer, Alex Guerrero, spoke this week about the quarterback's relationship with his former head coach Bill Belichick. And Guerrero said Belichick's treatment of Brady can be attributed to why he left after 20 seasons. He said it was never really like, it was like Bill never really.

I think his emotions or feelings never evolved with age. I think in time with Tom, as Tom got into his late 30s or early 40s, I think Bill was still trying to treat him like that 20-year-old kid he drafted. I think that was such a Bill thing. He never evolved. You can't treat someone who's in their 40s like they're 20. It doesn't work.

Well, especially when in their 20s, they weren't very good. And in their 40s, the best ever. Yes. And I don't, like I know this is kind of controversial because, you know, it's Brady's trainer who, you know, there were some issues with him in New England. Right. Right.

And, Brady had him at his own facility. And then other guys started going to Guerrero. And then it was like conflict between the training staff of the Patriots. And I get it. I get all of it. So it's not, it wasn't exactly the most smooth transition out of there. Not that there ever was going to be a smooth way to do it. But I don't disagree with what he's saying.

Because if you look at the way that Bella, check has, it's not that about the Belichick has changed, but we always kind of felt like it was a little obnoxious the constant like, not belittling, but just like Tom's in the same level as everyone else. To your point, when he comes in, he's a sixth round draft pick

and he has to prove himself, you treat someone a certain way. When they're the greatest to ever do it and you've won five championships, loosen up a little bit. No, no, no question. You can keep the same energy for the rest of the team. You can keep the same mentality. And you know that Tom is going to be that way anyway because he's been there 20 years. Look how much nicer I treat you today?

than three years ago. I know. It's like boot camp out here. Yeah. Now it's literally like ice cream for breakfast. It's nothing but layups all day. I mean, you have to, you just, there's no point in it. You know what it's like, it's like when you have a tough father.

Right. And he's tough on you. He never let you get away with anything and like got to get perfect grades and you got to be home by nine. Then you get to college and you graduate from college and you graduate with honors and you get the job and you have the family and you have the car and you sold the company and he's still hard on you. Like, man, guy.

the point of being hard on me is so that I do all this. Oh, I know. I am so much easier on my kids than I was zero. Because I read a book one time. I met this woman who was a child psychologist. And she's like zero to eight is going to be really crucial. So like zero to 10 to 12. I was tough on my kids. Now it's, again, I'm like dad cries at a marginally sad movie. So I'm because my kids police themselves and my kids I think have good values. And they, So I thought about this a lot. Like I think I was a tough dad. Tom Coughlin, purple face early. And then he lightened up because Eli was good and the defense was good. Right. And you don't have to police. I think it's, but I think it's hard, especially for dads or men.

I can't speak for women. But men, so they're tough, they're tough. And it's working. And so they think, ah, and they forget that people who they're tough on evolve and grow. And Pat Riley always said it. After about, you know, 10 years, it's all white noise. Yeah. People tune you out.

The raw, raw stuff is over. It doesn't work. But look, like, you can have ice cream for breakfast every day if you choose to, but you don't want it. So, like, because you learn you're not supposed to do that. And then you don't desire it. So, like, I think that's what Guerrero is talking about. It's not so much evolving because you probably still need to treat the other young guys that way.

Obviously, this system works. You had a dynasty. But for the guy who's the face of it, man, like, have a whiskey. and like, you know, a little chat. Go golfing once in a while. Don't tell anybody, but you've got to keep some consistency. So according to Mike Floreo of pro football talk, Dolphins owner, Stephen Ross wants Deshawn Watson.

Oh, here we go, meddling owner. Even with, well, he is apparently not meddling. He's not happy that the word is trickled out regarding his desire to get Watson, and obviously the team has not pulled the trigger on the trade. But apparently it's not just because of the legal situation. it's because of the asking price, which would be three first round picks and two second round picks. Now, once again, I, and obviously Stephen Ross is not happy this story is out. I don't get the point of the story coming out if you're not going to do it.

To me, this is a conversation, if you have it, it's very close-door conversation. So this is fascinating. So the story gets out. Yes. That means somebody in the building wants it out. Because stuff didn't escape New England for years and Flores is a New England guy. And Flores is not a real, you know, extrovert, verbal. Like, he's Belichickian.

He's not saying things for no reason. So now this is the story behind the story. Who wants it out? Is it somebody in the building? It is not a Tua fan. They're over it. Their job could be in peril. And they're like, if it leaks out, it puts pressure on us to do it.

I mean, my takeaway is this is out because somebody wants to make a move to Deshaun Watson. Right. That's the only reason this is out. Somebody wants it out because they're over Tua. They know it doesn't work. I'm telling you, when they didn't name Tua captain, that is saying something in the building. He's the only starting quarterback from last year, not named captain as a quarterback. The players vote on that, but I'm with you.

I think that it's something. But it just, the story being out at all, like is my issue with it. You're not going to hear this unless you are 100% in on Tua. It's impossible. So that tells you they're not. You're not hearing this about the Chargers. You're not hearing this about San Francisco. You're not hearing this about the jets.

Where there's smoke, there's fire. This is about the third clue that Tua is not the guy. Forget my opinion. So we had the trade rumors. Now we have this. He doesn't get named Captain. He struggled last year. Like the word is out.

There are people in the building in Miami that aren't into two. A dolphin fanboy. You got to come to terms with it. Your team's telling you what they think, smoke and fire. But this is not a good situation. Like, I would prefer to have Tua. If you're going

to even have, there's even the slightest possibility that this particular story is going to get out. Because if Deshaun Watson didn't have the legal situation going on and you were out on Tua, why wouldn't you just make the trade? Yes, it's an extreme ask, but we know what Deshawn Watson is on the field.

Like, we know what he's capable of. You instantly become Super Bowl contenders. But if you make that trade, and you bail on, which you are bailing on Tua if you make that trade. Three first rounds and two seconds, you're done with Tua. Okay, I would give you, I don't care about the first. I'd give you three first for Dishon Watson. As long as I know there's closure with Dishon Watson's legal situation.

You can't know, though. See, then I'm not interested. We don't know. But let's say tomorrow, there's a decision Monday. Then I make the move in a second. So the reports are there won't be a decision until next year. Okay, then I'm out. So the fact that the story is happening right now is my issue, because you have,

no closure on the legal situation. And forget the legal situation, because we don't know what that's going to be. We don't know what the NFL is going to do. So for that asking price, and it's not just that you're getting that asking price. If you do that, the two era is over. So the amount of risk is enormous.

Are you really that desperate? I don't think so. All right. Joy with the news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by. The herd lie news. So I have,

I'm going to throw a theory out here on Andy Dalton and the Bears and I want Joy to react to it. Okay, so I'm going to throw my theory out. So I haven't finished a thought. Usually I come into the show with six or eight thoughts. And I have, you know, I have notes like make sure it lands here. This is what I want to say. I don't want to just ramble on and on.

So I have a thought on Andy Dalton. And I'm going to do it on the way back with Joy because I want a woman's perspective on this more than a guy's perspective. but I just how guys think and I think it'll be interesting. It's not a finished product or a finished rant, but it's something that I noticed because we observe for a living and then we have opinions on it. And this is something I noticed. And on the Bears and Andy Dalton.

All right. So, cool matters. I mean, Michael Jordan sold a lot of merch, not just because he won. He sold it before he won championships.

Dr. Jay didn't have a lot of championships. He sold stuff, shoes. You go, Russell Westbrook can move merchandise. Cool matters. You like to buy cool stuff. Young people like to be cool. Young people set trends in art and music. Athletes are cool.

They're playing sports. They're millionaires. They have beautiful girlfriends, wives. They get paid to just say, I like this company. They fly private jets. They get adoring fans. It is cool to be a pro athlete in America. Nothing against you accountants.

But it's cool to be a pro athlete. And in a locker room, you're talking about guys that were the big man on campus in high school, big men on campus in college. And then they made the NFL, and they're playing in Chicago Bears, Denver. They're cool. Some of the coolest people in Denver are professional athletes.

They end up with a lot of pretty girls. There's a reason. Okay, it's cool. And so just hear me out. Andy Dalton was successful, but never cool. Right? That wasn't his thing. I mean, the red rifle.

Remember that, oh, I'm three go. And the team's like, He was effective. He wasn't cool. But Cincinnati's not cool. Chicago's cool. And as Andy is aged, he is now competing for a job against the cool guy. Justin Fields, good-looking kid, great college career, number one high school quarterback,

hand him the job, top pick. And it matters. And Andy Dalton knows it. And he's like, I'm going to do a little transition here. I'm going to get a little edgier. to relate to young people. Andy Dalton is done a makeover in the last year with his appearance. I'll show you.

Andy Dalton, Cincinnati, Andy Dalton, Chicago. Show the picture. You tell me. Looks like a badass on the right. He does. He looks like a punk rocker. Andy looks tough. Look at him on the left.

He looks like Cincinnati. That Andy rebranded himself because he knew he had younger locker room. He was not the guy. He could be competing against a cool guy, kind of a guy with a little attitude, a little swag. And Andy's like, I'm going to change her up a little bit. I think it's really smart. I don't know if it works.

I just thought about this this morning. Is this the dumbest thing you ever heard, Joey? No, this is a thing that Andy Dalton had a glow up. It's a 100% of a thing. He went from, let's have fun and play together to let's bleep and go. I mean, look at this. It's a different look. It is.

It is. It's very modern. I mean, it is. No, I think, I don't look. Everything is something. And I do think that, you know, he obviously has a new look. I don't know that that. And I think, by the way, he's got a beautiful wife.

He helps how he's playing. But he looks like Prince Valiant on the left. And he looks like a punk, he looks like a punk rock guy on the right. But it is, by the way, it's also, he was always a nice guy. Yes. And he came out. That was his speech. And in Chicago, it's different.

And play together. Now in Chicago, what is? It's my team. Yes. So I think Andy is like, okay, I got to rebrand myself here. I don't want to be Cincinnati, Andy. I want to be Chicago. Chicago is also a cool town.

You got the mercantile. I mean, Chicago is one of the great towns in America. I think it looks good. So do I. We can't be a nerd in Chicago. Gotta be a guy. Got to have something. So that's my theory.

And you agree with it. What did you call it glowing up? What is that? A glow up, yeah. What is that? That is a glow up. That is a visual representation. I have no idea half the thing she says.

But I will use glow up. I use lit for a year after she told me what it meant. Okay, so here's an interesting thing. So Alex Guerrero, Tom Brady is obviously flourishes when he works with intense, detailed people. He flourishes with Josh McDaniel. He flourishes with Belichick. He flourishes with Alex Guerrero, who's like this, you know, high-end trainer, intense, passionate. And Guerrero, we can show the quote, came out and criticized Belichick.

He said, you know, Belichick treated Tom. like a 20-year-old kid when he was 40. And he just didn't get it. That's such a bill thing. He never evolved. You can't treat somebody in their 40s like their 20s. It doesn't work. And it is interesting.

I think about this. Every CEO, the great ones, they all have a hole. They all have a blind spot. They all have a flaw. And one of the things I've worked on with therapy for years is a person's greatest asset can also become a liability. Like your focus. I'm focused.

a great asset. And then you don't pay attention to your kids or you don't pay attention to things you're so focused. So your great strength becomes your great weakness. And it's something, that's why therapy is important. That's why talking to people and not being surrounded by yes men, you know, that matters. But it's funny. The knock on bill in Cleveland intense and harsh. The knock on bill in New England intense and harsh.

But do you get a 20-year dynasty without that? I mean, Steve Jobs was brilliant and difficult. And Elon Musk is brilliant and crazy and difficult. But do you get the brilliant without the difficult? We never try to make an artist, an accountant. And we understand when we hire our accountant, we hope he's not a flaky artist, right? Handling our money.

So you want people to evolve. But if you marry somebody, come to terms with it. If you marry a rock star, he's going to flirt on the road. That's how you met him. You know, the old saying, you marry your mistress, well, then you need another mistress. So be very careful about that guy, right? So when I look at Belichick, I do think he has to evolve. But I think the brilliance to extend a dynasty for 20 years is his intensity.

And he does not play favorites. Now, I do think Bill, when Tom left him, and Bill's really smart, right? Mom spoke seven languages. his dad's one of the guys, the founders of scouting. So Bill's highly educated. I do think Bill, not that he's softened, but I do realize, I do think when Tom left, Bill had to come to Jesus meeting. And how do I know that? Because when they got Cam Newton, he was nicer to Cam Newton initially in the first six months. My God, he couldn't stop saying how great Cam was. And it wasn't anti- Brady. It was he wanted to send a message. I got to be a little softer with my guys.

He let Josh McDaniels, the coordinator, come out. He needs. He needs. never lets his coordinators talk. Josh McDaniels came out and talked about Cam. And I do think Bill, he maybe would never admit this, and maybe I'm wrong. But I do think he had a moment where a little bit of moment of clarity where got to give a few game balls to the quarterbacks. They are the face of the franchise. Maybe I'm a little tough on Tommy because it became fairly clear. It was documented. It's been written in books that Tom just got tired of Bill's blank. He just wore him out. And so I do think that the Belichick Brady divorce was a very natural predictable ending and that they were both great for each other.

And in the end, Tom really, really works well with intensity. Bill's intense. Alex Guerrero's intense. You've seen those workouts. Josh McDaniel's intense. I mean, the Boston weather's intense. The Boston media is intense. Tom's great with all of it.

He likes to be coached hard. He likes the intensity. He feeds off it. Tom's not loose and fun. And that's what we always said when he moved to Tampa and Bruce Ariens, Cocktails at 5. Are they ready for Tom's intensity? Remember what I said?

I said, Tom will be good, but are they ready for the tsunami of obsessive, compulsive football passion? Like, I'm not sure Tampa's ready for it. And by the way, it took a lot of weeks, a lot of months to get it right. But, you know, for Alex Guerrero to say that, I would say, well, what if somebody came up to Alex Guerrero and said, you know, you're kind of intense. lighten up. Just chill. Don't be as passionate about training. Don't be as passionate. You're a little intense. You're kind of rigid. And Alex Guerrero would be like, well, wait a minute.

That's why I'm Tom Brady's trainer. Now, one loosey-goosey guy. There's a million. I got 30 trainers that live in my gym every day. So there's that balance between evolving and acknowledging, this is what I am and this is what I do. And I think Bill did acknowledge it with Cam. But in the end, he went back to Bill. He released him. because that's Bill, that's his nature. That's what he is. Steve Jobs, Elon Musk, you want people to evolve,

but I do think we have to realize sometimes, not to be Dr. Phil Hill, but sometimes you just have to accept people for what they are. They're a pain in the butt. And we don't ask our rock stars to tone it down. We don't. They're rock stars. Michael Jordan, you got his intensity on the floor.

And then you watch the documentary. And he's still intense and hold. holding grudges. Well, you don't get the great Michael, and then soft bubblegum Michael 20 years later. He's still fighting and arguing about Gary Payton. I'm done. I really like that Andy Dalton segment. Not going to lie to you. Hour three next.
