I'm going to watch some college football tonight, USC, Utah, then college football all day tomorrow.

But in the morning tomorrow, USA and Netherlands, first thing on the docket. Tell my wife, October, November. Work months. We can go hang out on vacation in May, February, March. Good to have you in.

It's been fun doing this. Got my whole food's coffee right around the corner. Had oatmeal this morning. No scones today. But I did shower for the crew. Went the extra mile because I care. All right. I think we came off a pretty good week last time we did Blazing 5, 4 and 1,

feeling good. Here we go. Let's blaze it up. Fire it up. It's Collins Blazing 5. Chargers and Raiders. I'm going to take the Raiders at home plus 1. They're coming off an overtime win, back-to-back walk-off overtime win,

so they're feeling themselves, and they have to win here. Their offense, explosive, and doesn't. beat itself. Only nine giveaways this year, fewest in the league. The Chargers, weird team. They've trailed by 10 or more points in seven of their 11 games. Their defense isn't good, and it may be getting worse. They've allowed 150-plus rushing yards in five straight games. Longest active streak in the league, and here comes Josh Jacobs. I like the Raiders to win. I'll take the point 3128. at 49ers. My only favorite.

I like the Niners minus three and a half. It could be uglier. Two teams on winning streaks. The Dolphins, five straight, and the Niners, four straight. But who have the dolphins beaten? The Steelers, the Lions, the Bears, the Browns, and the Texans. They can't defend the tight end. And here comes the Niners.

Four and O. Since running back Christian McCaffrey was inserted into the starting lineup, the best scoring defense, the highest rate of receiving yards after the catch. Kittl, Debo, McCaffrey. I think the dolphins flying cross-country get exposed. Niners win it. They cover 2824. Titans at Eagles.

Like it, I love it. How are the Titans getting four and a half? Two run heavy teams, the difference is the Titans have the number three rush defense. and the number one third down defense, they'll get Philly off the field, Eagles on a short rest week. Eight of the 11 Titans games have been decided by one possession,

and Brable has been great in one possession games in his career, 25 and 13. The Eagles defense, they'll let you run it. 99 plus rushing yards in seven straight games, Derek Henry, maybe you've heard of him. I think the Titans could be the better team here. I think they win and they cover Titans 27, 24 over Philly.

Jaguars and Lions. Lions minus one. Lines fluctuated back and forth. I like Detroit at home, coming off extra rest. They've won three of four. Jared Goff, by the way, has only been sacked 17 times. That is the fewest of any starting quarterback with 10 starts. This is an elite O line.

Jamal Williams, the running back, has 13 rushing touchdowns. Armour on St. Brown is scheduled to play. The Jags are a young, fun team off a wildly emotional win. Doug Peterson's biggest, I think they pull back, not mature enough to finish off games on the road. Lions been a very good home team. Detroit wins. I'll swallow the point, 32 to 27. Jets said Vikings.

You know, I really do like the Vikings, though I bet against them a lot. because I think they're overvalued on the market. Jets plus three is the side to me. New York's been a good road team. Why? Because they have a great defense. Defense travels. They're four and one on the road.

And they've held four straight opponents under 200 passing yards. That's why I like the Jets. Sauce Gardner, the great rookie corner, should slow down Justin Jefferson. Eight of the nine Minnesota wins have come by one possession. They simply play a lot of close games. and their offense, their running game. Where did it go?

Three of the last four games, they rushed for under 75 yards. I think it's an ugly, low-scoring, close games. Three points is too many. How about a shocker? Jets went in cover 24 to 23. I do like the Vikings, but when you're overvalued on the market, you bet against them. So Eric Mangini. So, Eric, Albert Breyerhardt an interesting line.

I want you to hear this. I thought it was very interesting. And it's good to hear from your coach, Fox Sports Analyst. He said, with a lot of the young coaches, they not only give you a what, but a why they're doing it. Young athletes like that. Why? Belichick, because he had so much success, doesn't necessarily explain why as much. We're going to do it this way.

And because he's got hardware rings, wisdom, age. You know, a lot of players just, you know, Bill's going to say this is what we're doing. And Max Jones, apparently his nickname at Alabama was McEnroe Jones. He wants the why. He's a barker. He wants answers. He's not interested in you just telling him what to do. And we've got multiple breadcrumbs preseason, early season, last night of him barking at coaches and questioning things.

It does feel like something, Eric, does it not? Yeah, the whole situation there is. is a little bit unique in the way that guys are talking a lot more out of school than they ever have. And someone, I think it was Kendrick Bourne maybe, was talking about the third down problems and how it was a team issue, which is shocking. And there is a lot of truth to what you're saying in terms of young athletes wanting the why. And in my mind, they deserve the why. Sure. When an athlete sits there and asks, why are we doing this?

As a coach, you should be able to explain what the thought process is. And with Bill, he had so much credibility built up over time. Because sometimes come the why takes time. And it takes time away from getting to what you need to get to. And he's had so much success that everybody just accepted the why. Right. That was a given. But now when you have an unconventional offensive coordinator set up,

and you're not having the success that you've historically have, people quickly transition back to, why are we doing this? Sure. And especially for a guy like Matt Patricia and Joe Judge, they need to be able to give the one to someone like Mac Jones, who frankly has more offensive experience than they do. Yeah, it's, you know, it's, this sounds crazy,

but I said earlier today, Andy Reid got fired, And he was getting fired, taking teams to the NFC championship. And I don't think Robert Kraft would fire Bill, but there's no vision offensively. It's kind of embarrassing. And you look at Tua, and you look at Josh Allen, and you look at Mahomes and Burrow. And Robert Kraft is a sharp cookie. And he was always closer to Brady than Belichick. And I do wonder, he's sitting there thinking as a billionaire and you know, I'm a smart guy,

what's our vision? You got kids on the staff, fired ex-coaches. the quarterback's not happy, no dynamic players, the business culture of football's offensive-driven and pivoting. I think it's a weird position. I mean, just take me through a little Belichick craft. What do you think he's thinking? Well, remember when Jimmy Garoppolo became an issue, it seemed like Kraft stepped in and said,

no, we're not doing this. We're keeping Tom. and we're moving on from Jimmy. And that ended up proving to be the right decision. And then even when they decided to move on from Tom, and you can argue that Tom wanted out, but really, Tom, in my mind, would have stayed had they given him a decent contract.

And it seemed like Robert wanted him to stay at that point. So they move on from him, and what's happened? He's won a Super Bowl. He's been successful, and the Patriots haven't. So Robert took a huge chance on Bill Belichick when nobody else would. He traded it first on draft it for him. The guy's proven over and over again that he's got really good instincts. So I would imagine for him, as he's looking at this situation,

he's probably going to be hesitant to make a move quickly. But he's also got to feel pretty comfortable that he makes good decisions, especially on the big decisions. Yeah. So a topic, it sounds crazy, but over the course of five years, we've seen these big quarterback moves in this league. And I told you a year before Tom Brady left, yeah, he's going to go to that weird organization in Tampa and bail on Belichick.

You'd have said it's crazy. Lions are going to move off the only good player they have, Matt Stafford. You'd have thought it's crazy. It's not. And I look at Aaron Rogers. If Jordan Love comes in, Eric, for the last five games, and chops it up, and he's cheap. And you look at Aaron and you think, we've been walking on eggshells for years, we're not paying our young receivers anything. If Tennessee walked up, Vrable's a great coach, great culture, great defense, and said, guys, we're not going anywhere in the AFC with Tannehill.

Let's give up some picks and go for it. I could see Green Bay, if Jordan Love looks capable saying, Well, hell, we've already got our two young receivers. Now we've got two more first round picks, two second round picks. I don't think it's crazy given, given Aaron's age. He wants to win Super Bowls. Vrable looks at it and thinks, I'm not getting through Burrow and Mahomes and Allen with this. I don't think this stuff is crazy.

I would have said crazy 10 years ago. But would you be shocked if Vrable, Rogers, by the way, story in February, Aaron's building a place in Nashville. You know, I mean, what do you make of that thought? I don't think it's crazy anymore. The Russell Wilson trade, to me, I thought was crazy because of the amount of dead money. And the thing that limits Green Bay is the amount of dead money that they have with Aaron Rogers.

That, to me, is the absolute limiting factor. I think they'd love to be able to move on from Aaron Rogers. And I think they really wanted to, when they drafted Jordan Love, thinking what he wasn't going to be here for very much. much longer, and this was the next smart move to make. Now, he goes back-to-back MVP, makes it impossible for them to make that decision, but he's difficult to deal with. Yeah.

Now, the Russell-Wilson trade also changes things because there had been so much success with the high-profile quarterbacks moving to a different team and having success. Now you have a high-profile quarterback moved to a different team, and it's an abject failure at this point. the league's going to take a step back and say, okay, these aren't slam dunks anymore. That's right. And that makes it hard to give up what you'd need to give up to get in Aaron Rogers

and deal with the contract. So the thought process, I don't think is crazy at all. I think Green Bay would love to do it, and they'd love for Jordan love to hit. I do think the money is a huge issue, and now the Russell Wilson, is this an outlier? or is this, you know, maybe the other decisions were outliers, and this is really where it is with older quarterbacks? Yeah, I mean, Philip Rivers worked in Indy for a year.

Brady's work, Stafford's worked, Russell didn't. Wence, I thought actually worked in Indy. The owner said he didn't. So I do think by and large, you get a star quarterback at works, even if he's old. But to your point, I don't think it's nuts anymore. So you live in Cleveland. Deshawn Watson's going to play this weekend.

I cannot imagine going from practice to a game. I mean, my expectations are not great for him. What you live there? What are you hearing? What do you expect from him? It's so interesting being out in the community and talking to people because there's this excitement about having a great quarterback, but then everybody has this guilt about being excited

about having to Sean Watson. So people are torn because of everything that's happened, but yet they love the idea of, you know, maybe this guy is going to propel them into the perennial playoff team and potential Super Bowl team. Not playing in, what is it, 700 days when he starts on Sunday, it's going to be, now he has a perfect opponent to come back against him in a sense of they should be able to handle him pretty.

easily, but I don't know how much, how quickly he's going to be able to get back to his old form, and I'd imagine he's going to rely significantly on his seat early on to make splash plays and to keep the offense moving. Yeah, that's kind of how I feel. You know, I looked at the standings this morning. There are a couple of surprises. I didn't think the Jets would be this good. You know them well.

And I think the Rams and Denver are much worse than I predicted. no huge shocks for me. Now, last year, you accurately predicted the Raiders would make the playoffs. When you look, I mean, but if you start looking around, the best or healthiest quarterback is winning most of these divisions. You know, Denver and the Rams, I missed on. But of the 14 playoff teams today, 11, you know, I chose better quarterbacks. Is there a team?

Maybe it's Miami the Jets. Is there a team to you, Eric, that you go, wow, I didn't see it coming? our team that I thought would be better this year than they were last year. I really fundamentally believe that Josh is a really good coach, especially a good offensive coach. I love Mick Lombardi, the offense coordinator. They get Devonthe Adams. They got a solid core there.

They got a quarterback to me that is pushing sort of that top level of quarterbacks. I thought they'd be so much better than they have been. The defense had let him down, and the offense hasn't quite clicked the way it should have. I thought Cleveland would be better, too. I thought Cleveland could just ride Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, even with Jacoby Brissette, to a significantly better record than where they are right now. I didn't see this being a four-and-sevent team. Yeah.

I got to ask you one college question because you know Jim Harbaugh. He's quirky. He's different. I've always said he may be on the spectrum. He's so unique, his personality. And I say that because I think there's levels of genius and levels of unique that are hard to explain with his personality. But I like him because he's so good for college football. He's such a big personality and I love the sport.

I think he now has an identity at Michigan. And I'm not sure Ohio State has anything more than really good players. I don't know what their identity is. They're no longer that physical. Explain Harbaugh to somebody that knows him better than we do. His gifts, his uniqueness. Just explain him to the audience. So everybody talks about in sports, and especially sports leadership, coaches,

GMs, people in those roles about being authentic. Jim Harbaugh is the most authentic guy that I've been around, bar none. And when people say, I love football, I live football, a lot of people say that because I think it's the right thing to say. Jim Harbaugh loves football and lives football like nobody I've ever seen. I remember him coming into the first day at training camp, we got back earlier than most teams, and him saying, oh, my God, could none of you guys sleep last night? Because today was the first, like he was excited about the first day of school, dress us were thinking, man, we're here a week early for vacation.

He was so excited about being there, and it wasn't fake at all. And I think that really resonates with players, with coaches. Outside of that, there's also this incredible openness to try anything. So many guys get caught up with, we got to do it this way, we got to do it this way. He used to say, we're the San Francisco 49ers. We can do whatever we want. And that was, but it was, and I'm sure he's saying it, the same thing in Michigan, it was this idea of we're not bound by conventional wisdom. We're not bound by what people think we need to do.

We can try anything we want to try. And I thought that was amazing. I thought that was, you know, it really taught me a lot being able to view that, that lens that he was, he was doing things through. Yeah. Eric Mangini. Love the Insight. Coach. Have a great weekend. Yeah. He really is. So many people get, especially if you're marginally successful, you get kind of burdened and bound by it. Like, this is the way we have to do things. And what you find is almost every business. You don't care if it's real estate, medicine, tech, obviously, sports, they're all growing. Like, don't fall in love with yourself. That's where I think Belichick and Greg Popovich. have sort of like fallen in love with themselves and their culture.

Yeah, Saban did and then said, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Nope, the sport's changing. Lane Kiffin, there's an article of the New York Times where Kiffin basically sat down with Nick and said, you can't stop me if I've got equal players. And Nick admitted, we're going to become an offensive program. And Bama is. And by the way, Mike Shishowski did not like the one and done at all. And he's like, I'm not going to be stubborn like Bob Knight.

I'm getting beat by one and done players. We're going to embrace it. It doesn't matter how great you are. Sabin is probably the best college coach ever. Coach K is the best college basketball coach ever. Both briefly stubborn, pivoted. And in the pros, I think Belichick and Popovich kind of fallen in love with their belief system. Stuff's changing, man.

Jake Butt, former Big Ten tight end for the Michigan Wolverines, last hour to talk about Harbaugh, blazing five already in the books, only took one favor at the Niners over Miami. This is interesting. Laker trade rumors, according to the athletics, Jovan Buha, the Lakers are operating under a

new timeline. They're awaiting December 15th. That's the date in which most players who signed free agent contracts last off-season can be traded. So December 15th, the Lakers are looking around. According to Jovan at the Athletic, three things they're considering. Trading Russell Westbrook plus one or both of their tradable first-round picks in 27 and 2029 for a star or package of multiple role players.

Second thing they're considering doing is some combination of moving Patrick Beverly, Kendrick, Nunn, and picks for role players who, you know, give them size and shooting. or two separate trades. One involves Pat Bev, none, first round pick. The other would involve Westbrook, other picks. My takeaway is the schedule now is going to get really hard. Milwaukee, I think tonight. Milwaukee's next.

Lakers go on the road and five of those six teams on the road trip. Midwest, East Coast have a winning record. Then they come home for the Celtics, which will be an L. Boston's playing great. So this Laker team is not good. they are four, they are eight and twelve currently. 13th in the West. Half of their wins.

Four. Three have come against the tanking spurs and one against awful Detroit. It's a bad team. The good news, though, I'm not Mr. Negative, is AD is playing out of his mind and he's healthy. Fingers crossed. And Westbrook has embraced the sixth man role. he's not as toxic. I would move both.

The Lakers, I think, will move Westbrook. So we could all acknowledge the Lakers are not close to Milwaukee or the Celtics or the Warriors. They're miles away from that. I think with a bold move, they could become a competitive playoff team. Right now, there are several games out of a playing game, and the schedule is getting tougher. And their next home game is Boston and Denver. Very easily two L's. So trading Westbrook is not bold.

It's common sense. He's a bad contract. I don't think the Lakers franchise has a bold move in them. I mean, let's just say they trade Westbrook and they get workable pieces. Okay. You'll still have an old LeBron. You're crossing your fingers on AD's health. You gave up your draft picks and you have slightly better role players.

Really? Winning time on HBO, the story of Jerry Buss. It was virtually like a chronological order of big moves, bold moves. The Lakers standard has always been championships. It's very Yankees. It's Bama football. It's Ohio State football. They're not playing for the Sun Bowl.

So, you know, let's say they trade Westbrook and they get Miles Turner and Buddy healed. That's not terrible. They're a better team. they're a mile from the Celtics Warriors and Bucks. So I would start over. I have no problem having an old LeBron who can give you about 55 games a year. But, you know, this organization was built from the forum, from the purchase. It was all built on big swings, not obvious ones.

I mean, go look at the NBA right now. Warriors. Kevin Durant. swing. Andrew Wiggins. Big swing. They've taken some real chances. It pays off aggressive wins in sports. We're seeing it all. USC. Big swing Lincoln Riley. How's it worked out? Moderate moves, obvious moves trading Westbrooks, not changing anything. You'll be slightly better. But still, not a real viable playoff team. Here's Ryan with the news. No.

This is the herd line news. Well, Colin, we got some breaking news, and we got some good breaking news. That is the United States men's national team have announced that their best player, Christian Pulisic, is cleared to play for tomorrow's match versus the Netherlands. That is huge. That gives us a shot. Yeah. And that's all you really want at this point. You know, have you guys noticed that the gap between great?

And just at the World Cup, just to be there, the margins have gotten tight. We're seeing, I mean, you're watching these what we thought were dominant European teams. A lot of close games. I mean, Spain beat Costa Rica, I think, like 7-0. Have not been a lot of blowouts, have been shocking, shocking outcomes. I mean, you had, Italy didn't even qualify. So you had, they didn't even make it. Then you had these other teams, I believe it was.

Germany didn't advance. And it's in Mexico. Yeah. So it's been. I think they've got a shot. I think I, you know, my guess is my, I think it's kind of a one-nothing score. I will say this against Wales, against England, and against Iran. We were very, very aggressive.

I thought, and played a really good first half. Our second halves, it feels like we're holding on for dear life. But if we can, you know, we're not getting a ton of shots on goal, but you take a lead on Netherlands, then they're the favorite. They get tight. We have really set a tone early in these matches, and so I can't wait for tomorrow morning. Yeah. So that is on Fox, 10 a.m. Eastern Time.

One of the biggest soccer matches we've had in about a decade. Oh, yeah. I'm very much looking forward to that. Now to the NFL, Colin, one of the marquee matchups on Sunday will be the Dolphins taking on the 49ers in Santa Clara. 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was asked about the potential of him playing for the dolphins this season before he ultimately returned to the Niners. They were in a conversation.

Not much came from it, but they were definitely one of the teams in the conversation. It seemed like a good spot as an offense. That's tremendous skill players, everything. They got going over there. Mike, you know, being a great coach, had been with him in the past year. And it was discussed, but I'm glad the way things worked out. As you heard there, Colin, the reference to Mike McDaniel, the Dolphins current head coach was an offensive coordinator with Jimmy back in San Francisco.

I think this is the type of situation where it really worked out for everyone involved. I mean, clearly the 49ers are far more successful with Jimmy since he stepped in for Trey Lance after that season ending injury. And with Miami, it was time to really see what you had with Tua. Yes. I mean, you had your questions and we all had our questions about his physical limitations, and we still do. We'll see what happens in the playoffs.

But he clearly wasn't getting the full support. the full belief, the entire franchise behind him. And so now you're seeing, hey, he can win you some games. And bringing in a veteran like Jimmy G just would have muddied up that whole situation. And you would have been more or less where you'd been the previous two years. Listen, that's another reason. I think you've just got to see what you have with Jordan Love and Green Bay. They've got a star back, two emerging receivers, a top 5-0 line according to PFF.

Like, if he can't make it in these five games, then he's not the guy. But you've got to give yourself an answer. I mean, Tua doesn't lose games when he starts and finishes them over the last year and a half. So, I mean, I think there's limitations, but he wins games. It's what I've always said about Lamar Jackson. He's different. He wins 75% of his starts. That's all I care about.

Right, and you needed the opportunity to be able to see that for yourselves, not what you had seen with Brian Flores. Right. He plays for three quarters, and then you pull him for the fourth quarter. Right. You have no idea if the guy can perform in crunch time. All right, Colin, we'll wrap it up with this. You spent some time talking about Jim Harbaugh. As you said, we have former Michigan tied in Jake Butt on next hour.

It's been an incredible year for Jim Harbaugh in Michigan. The win over Ohio State obviously put an exclamation point on that, locking up another appearance in the Big Ten championship game. And if they're able to win that over Purdue tomorrow, that will seal their second straight Big Ten title. But for the first time, since he was hired in Ann Arbor, Jim Harbaugh was named Big Ten Coach of the Year. Oh!

Yeah, the offense is seventh in the nation in scoring. the defense is second in scoring. Only Alabama is the other team in the country that ranks top 10 in both categories. And I thought this was interesting. Mike Sando of the Athletic, who you know, very reputable reporter. An AFC executive told him he believes Harbaugh

could still make a return to the NFL, most notably returning to a team that he used to play for in the Colts and perhaps keep an eye on the Denver Broncos. Now Harbaugh made a run at the NFL last off season, mostly looking at the Vikings. The Vikings ended up going with their current head coach, Kevin O'Connell. But people around the NFL not taking it off the table for Harbaugh.

Yeah, I think Michigan, his dad lives right next to him in Ann Arbor, the grandkids. Listen, college is better unless you have Mahomes or Josh Allen. Like, I think a college job where I can control personnel and don't have an impulsive crazy owner, I think it's, I would take... I would want no part of the Indianapolis job right now. None. But if you give me USC, you give me Michigan, you give me, you know, Georgia, those are great, great jobs. Now, Kansas City's better, Buffalo's better. I'll take, if you give me, because it's better coaching. I always say this about radio. A local job, if you're a local guy in San Francisco and you're doing mornings in the Bay Area, it's better than 90% of the syndicated radio jobs.

It's a great gig. If you're doing mornings or afternoons in Dallas, you've got a great life. That's a great gig. Well, we just talked about this yesterday with Matt Rule. I mean, can Matt Rule coach in the NFL? I can honestly say, I have no idea because he never had stability at the quarterback position. So if you're Harbaugh, do you want to go to that Colts job, which has been a rotating door of next man up since Andrew Luck?

Now, the Denver thing, I guess, I mean, it depends on how. how you feel about their new ownership group, whatever he thinks you can or can't do to salvage Russell Wilson would be a separate conversation. The Colts is something that I think would be a big, big mistake for Harbaugh to leave Michigan for the Colts. Well, you've got an impulsive owner. You don't have really the players at the right spots,

corner, edge rush receiver you need, and you don't have a quarterback. That's become very quickly a bad job. Right. Like really quickly. Yeah. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by.

I think I like USC. I like Michigan to win comfortably. USC to win by 7 to 10 tonight. TCU close Kansas State. Watched them play a little bit earlier. TCU fell, it was close early and then TCU had a big second half. And yeah, I think Georgia is going to smoke LSU. And they'll score a lot of point. That'll be a bet the over. There's my bet. I will say this, watch a match. I'm

Mac Jones last night. It's always fun. And, you know, I take big swings, I miss, but it's fun to predict, project how a college quarterback will do at the next level. There are very few certainties. Andrew Luck was my guarantee. Trevor Lawrence was my guarantee. Those are like once every 10-year guys where they're just good enough to overcome

nonsense. And it looks like Trevor Lawrence is already pulling away from his class, 2021 class. But I went back and I looked at the class this morning. so Trevor Lawrence is as you predicted and I predicted. He's the guy. The second pick was Zach Wilson. I didn't like him at all. I thought he was cocky, hero ball, undisciplined, small.

So far I've been right. Trey Lance and Fields, I thought were both mega talented, but it sort of depended where they landed. And right now we don't know. And then Mack Jones, I thought you'd realize very early what he is and what he isn't. He's a leader. He's accurate. But he's got a low ceiling.

And that's exactly what he is. So the tougher guys now to project or predict are guys from small colleges like Trey Lance and Josh Allen because you don't see him play much. And they play against weaker competition. They often have average coaching staffs. And you don't see them much on television. But, you know, like if you look at this class, Bryce Young and Alabama's coming out. He'll be probably the top pick.

He's small and light. Quick release. Moves well. Processes well. he will need to land in the right place with the right protection up front. He could be like Tua. Gets an offensive coach and weapons? Very successful.

Do I think he's good enough to overcome a mess? No. Will Levis, Kentucky, big, strong needs coaching and development. Like Bryce Young, give him the right coach, give him the right weapons. Could he win? I believe he could. Not talented enough to overcome nonsense. sense. So I think, you know, if you put quarterbacks in college in three categories,

locks to be good, I think Caleb Williams looks like one of those guys. I think luck was Trevor Lawrence says, Caleb Williams looks like, yeah, that's going to work. That's going to work. Then the next group is could work depending on the fit and how he lands. And then not a guy. It's kind of three groups. and the first group is really, really rare. Most guys, 90% of these guys fall into, or 95% fall into two categories. It's going to depend who is coaches, the team, the owner, the roster. He's not good enough to just overcome silliness.

That's 90% of it. Or dude can't play. E.J. Manuel. Nice guy. Can't play. Josh Rosen. Good guy, can't play. And at that level, not going to be able to, you know, durable, whatever it is. So, but Caleb.

Williams looks like to me, closer to the Andrew Luck, Trevor Lawrence space, and it's rare, which is, that's going to work. I mean, that looks like it's going to work. Now, if you go to Houston, you get the wrong coach, maybe I'm wrong, and it goes sideways and he gets banged up. But he is really special. He is, he is really, when a guy, you know, like, Kyler's small and looks small, Russell Wilson's small and looks small.

Baker's small and looks small. Tua's small and looks small. If you look at Tua says he's six feet tall. Aaron Rogers is six, one and a half. I never think about Aaron Rogers size. I don't think about Mahalm's size. I don't think about Caleb Williams' size. They just pop.

They play huge. Those are unique talents. That Aaron's really not that big. In fact, early in his career, he was sort of sensitive about his height. he was not one of these six, five guys that he went to junior college. Big schools didn't offer him. So, and he's, you know, early in his career, I had a little chip about that. But, you know, Caleb Williams, the remarkable thing is, I remember I was, I can tell

this story. I was at a place called the 900 Club in Manhattan Beach. It's a little club I signed up for. And just a great beach club, kind of a private club, but not that private, a lot of people there. And so you'll see anybody there. You'll see, you'll see Sean Payton, Chip Kemp. Kelly. I remember I talked to Chip Kelly this summer and I said, I'm really excited to see Caleb Williams play.

And Chip's like, yeah, he's really good. He's not real big, though. And it wasn't a criticism. He was like, yeah, he's not, he's not real big. And I'm like, yeah, I know. And that night I googled it. And I'm like, six, one and a half, you know, 2.15. He's not. But God, when you see him play, he does not. Size is just, it's shocking. He plays six, three and a half, 2.30. Big arm. Multiple angles. Holmes isn't that big, but multiple arm angles. I mean, size, there's been three quarterbacks. Cam, Big Ben, and Josh Allen, those are just, genetically, that's just different.

Yeah, I mean, Cam Newton was bigger than defensive ends. I mean, I remember Cam Newton at Auburn, and SEC's got NFL dudes everywhere. he's running over defensive ends and linebackers, and you're like, all right, that's different. Josh Allen is leaping over linebackers. That's just really rare. Andrew Luck was big and thick, but he wasn't that. Trevor Lawrence is tall, but he's not terribly thick. But, you know, when a guy is not that big and you never think about his size, that's Caleb.

He is just such a unique talent. Can't wait for tonight. And listen, here I'm bragging about him. Probably goes out tonight and completes eight passes. they lose by 30. I'm like, it doesn't know anything. But I do like USC tonight.

And it's sold out. So it's not a very far drive, but a four-hour drive, maybe L.A. to Vegas. And what is Salt Lake to Vegas? Four and a half, five, something like that? Five? We all have different ideas about success.
