Part of the winter, everybody's sick. Race for a really cold winter weekend. It's even cold in L.A. a little bit last couple nights. Ryan's in L.A. kiddies. You know, he's not going to Kansas City or Buffalo for a game, but a lot of people are, and they're going to have a great time. It just going to freezer, took us off. I'm not really a – I've gone to, you know, Seattle kid.

I went to a lot of Husky games that was pouring rain. I didn't mind it. Yeah, at one point I had season tickets to the Jets went to a game in September and October, zero in November, December. Just no thanks. Too cold for me. By the way, I wake up every morning and ask, Alexa, what's the temperature? And it's been in the 40s every day this week.

Like, that's crap. Nobody wants to hear that from us. Nobody wants to hear that. that. All right. So we had a heater this year. Playoff football is a little different. Weather can affect the lines. You know, during the season, we have all these games

and I just pick five. Now, we've got six games I have to pick five. But I did find a few games that I like. I'm going to stay away from the Steelers and Buffalo. I mean, that thing could be a whiteout. I'm not sure if you could even see the field. So I'll stay away from that one. But here's our Blazin' Five.

Let's blaze it up. Fire it up. It's Collins. Blazing Five. Browns to Texans. I'm going to take the Texans plus two and a half straight up to upset Cleveland. C.J. Stroud did not play earlier when these two teams met. Their offense just doesn't make any mistakes. 14 giveaways is the fewest in the NFL, and C.J. Stroud throwing the ball down field.

Forget for a rookie. Nine touchdowns, no picks, and 123 pass-er rating. It's like the Matrix. This kid is off the charts, throwing the ball down the field. And Cleveland's defense, weirdly, is bad on the road. I don't know why, but they allow 29 and a half points a game on the road. They're a different defense, and Joe Flacco love him, but he's got eight picks in five starts. He's a better story than a quarterback. January Joe meets his match.

I'll take the kid. 28, 27, take the points in Houston to win. Dolphins at Chiefs. Initially, I like Kansas City, but the number's got up to four and a half, and I don't know how many points anybody's going to score. So I'm going to take Miami plus four and a half. I think it's a 16-13-feeling game. Listen, the Dolphins got more first-downs and out-game the Chiefs when they played earlier in the year in Germany,

and now the weather's bad, so forget Kansas City throwing the ball all over the yard. Miami can run the ball. Number six rushing offense, and the Chiefs this season? Mahomes has a losing record since week eight. Over the last 10 games, they're averaging 19 points. Now I'm supposed to believe they're going to light the scoreboard up in minus 30 wind chill. I think it's going to be an ugly low-scoring game. And again, initially I like Kansas City.

But the line move, I'm going to take Kansas City to win Miami plus four and a half to cover 24-21 KC. Packers at Cowboys. I'm going to take Green Bay plus seven. First of all, this matters. They are a great first-quarter team. They take leads on people, and that's coaching Matt LaFleur. They leave the NFL and first-quarter point differential since week 12, and they're the only team without a first quarter turnover this season.

So they're not going to get buried early. They probably come out with a chance to take a lead. And Aaron Jones, now that he's healthy, since week 15, he leads the NFL in rushing yards. And when he has been a Packer and had 100-plus yards from scrimmage, they've won 25 and 26 games. Jordan loves last eight weeks, baller. Confident, great, twitchy, clever, wide receiver talent.

By the way, Dallas is 1 in 5 this year when they allow over 21 points. I think Green Bay scores over 21 points. I think it's a shootout. There's no way I can give Jordan Love in this offense and this staff seven points. I'll take the Cowboys to win narrowly, 33 to 28. Feels like the right side. Rams and Lions. You know what?

I got talked into it. Too many injuries for the Lions. I'm going to take the Rams plus three here. They're 7 and 2 since 2018 in the playoffs. Only the Chiefs have a better winning percentage. McVeigh in big games is excellent. They've won seven of eight games since the buy, and their only loss was the Red Hot Ravens in overtime.

Rams are a good football team, and Matt Stafford's on an absolute heater since week 12. The Lions have the least amount of playoff experience of any playoff team. 17 games? They've lost their last three games against playoff teams, Ravens, Packers, and Cowboys, and their past defense is awful. Sam Leporta, great young tied-in.

probably doesn't play. That to me feels big. Coach quarterback advantage. Rams plus the points. Upset Detroit. Slide upset 2827. Eagles and Buccaneers. Lines moved. I don't love it as much as I did earlier. I'll take Philly minus three to win by about four.

Listen, they beat the bucks the last time they played. They ran all over them, and A.J. Brown had nine couches. It was a big match-up issue. Best offensive line in football is Philadelphia, and I think they lean on Jalen Hertz. PFF has this is the best O-Lon in football. I think that matters in playoff games. Vox can't run the football at all. Worse rushing offense in the NFL. As Jemack had pointed out, they've beaten some bad teams down the stretch. So, I mean, they won the division, but it's not been pretty. Baker Mayfield is one in five versus playoff teams this

year, and he's not 100%. I'm going to take Philadelphia 2824. I don't think Tampa's a huge home field advantage. So they agree. go, I'm taking points. The dogs are barking this weekend. I'm going to take the Texans plus points, the Dolphins, the Packers, and the Rams plus points. And I think Philadelphia beats a Tampa team. They're a nice story. And good, I'm happy for Baker. He's done well for himself, won a division. Can he win a playoff game in the AFC and the NFC? Certainly possible. Because right now the Eagles are completely reeling. Anything J-Mack that jumps out to you quickly? Everything I don't like. Four road teams. Wow.

Oh my gosh. This is going to be a fun, fun weekend with these picks, Colin. Big sweats coming for you. Albert Breer joining us live, Monday morning quarterback. All right, Gerard Mayo gets hired. Are you surprised, Albert, by that move? No, I'm not. Maybe a little bit by how fast it happened, but this is something the crafts have had in mind for years now. Not days, not weeks, not months, years. They really grew an affinity for Gerard Mayo when he was a player. When he got out of football in 2015, he went to finance, and Robert Kraft helped him there. And when he came back into coach, and they quickly identified him as somebody who would be worthy of succeeding Bill Belichick.

So I'm not surprised it happened. And all of this is one reason why it was so important for them to hold on to him last year. In fact, he had a chance to interview for the – panthers job and as you know colin like it can help guys just to go and interview and interview well because owners talk to owners and if you do well then it's going to get around and to keep him off the market they revised his deal and the provision that he'd become the next head coach was part of that deal that was signed a year ago and now obviously that's come to pass so not a great year obviously in 2023 for the franchise but again this belief that the crafts have and drod mayo has nothing to do with a

single year. It's something that's been built up over the last 15 years. What's the market for Bill Belichick, in your opinion, Albert? I think there's a lot of curiosity. I think there are some teams that still have coaches in place that, you know, would like to sniff around a little bit. Ultimately, I don't think Bill is guessing on what's going to be out there for him. And I think the opportunity in Atlanta is probably the best one right now, as it stands right now. There's an owner, obviously there who's been in place for a long time. And a guy in Arthur Blank who hasn't really hired a sure thing before he's hired five coaches. You know, four of them were assistants, Jim Morham, Mike Smith, Dan Quinn and Arthur Smith. And then he hired a college coach and Bobby

Petrino. So he hasn't taken this sort of big swing ever before. He's 81 years old. He's got a roster that's ready to win right now. And he can offer Bill a chance to remake the organization in his own image. And I think Joe, I think Bill for his part, would bring an all-star staff with them. You know, I think he'd bring a lot of former head coaches, maybe guys like Josh McDaniels, Bill O'Brien, Matt Patricia, Joe Judge, to try to take another swing into championship and, of course, Don Shula's record. And I also think that Bill would rather stay east than go west where most of his life has been, you know. And so I think everything lines up for him to be the next coach of the Falcons, but again, there are some teams that have

coaches in place now that I think could be factors in the coming days. Pete Carroll, leave Seattle, I don't know if it's shocking. They underachieve. The defense has been bad for five years. Total defense, worse than the league, and he's a defensive coach. You talk to players. You talk to people inside the building. What was the vibe on Pete?

The players still like them. I think there's still a positive atmosphere there. I mean, you've been there calling it. So a really unique environment that Pete's been able to build, both the USC and with the Seahawks. I just think this for the owner was time. And, you know, two years ago, she really considered moving on from Pete Carroll and turning the page. And that, of course, was when they moved on from Russell Wilson. And she stuck with it when they made the playoffs last year.

But I always feel like when an owner opens the door for something like this, it's never fully shut again. And, you know, I think that's sort of what happened here, where she got in her head a couple of years ago, okay, I think I'm ready to turn the page. And then, of course, they bounced back in a big way and had a couple of really good draft classes in a row and okay here we go and then they don't make the playoffs this year and that old idea comes back so i think it's a combination of a lot of different things but i think at the top of the list it's just the owner having it in her head that she she wanted to turn the page and by the way i think pete's leaving an outstanding position situation for someone there you know it might wind up being dan quinn we'll see but whoever

inherits that situation there's a lot of good young talent they really knocked it out of the park the last couple of years in the draft. Jim Harbaugh, what are you hearing? I mean, he's going to have his pick, it should be. Are you hearing he's leaning NFL, and if there are a spot, Destiny, you think he'll land in? I think, again,

like, if the right opportunity is there for him, the time is now, the NCAA sanctions could be coming down. He's got 44 seniors. He just won a national title. He's done everything he set out to do of Michigan, and he's got unfinished business in the NFL. So, I think the time is now. I think the right

places the Chargers. We've talked about this column. The Chargers do have, you know, sensitivity to the perception that they're cheaper, that they're irrelevant in L.A. and hiring Harbaugh would address both of those things. You know, and going to Los Angeles for Harbaugh geographically, it makes sense. You know, he's coached and played in California. He likes it out there. You got a quarterback in place and Justin Herbert and a roster that's ready to win right now. And just an interesting little nugget here for you, if you want it. Yesterday they interviewed the Giants Assistant General Manager Brandon Brown, who's very well regarded.

He's a guy who not only has great scouting history, but also has a law degree. He's got a relationship with Harbaugh. So that's one I would keep an eye on potentially pairing a GM with Harbaugh as head coach. Finally, Steelers Bills, I saw a weather forecast this morning. It's Armageddon. I mean, it's crazy. I don't even know how you can broad. 65 miles an hour, is that right?

I don't know how you can see the game. If you're a broadcaster, I don't know if you're a broadcaster. So is there any talk about moving it? I actually checked in with the league less than an hour ago, and they said to this point there's been no discussion about moving either the Chiefs Dolphins game, which I don't think that wanted to get moved. That sounds like it's just cold

or the Bill Steelers game. Now, they still have some time because that Bill Steeler's game is on Sunday and not Saturday. And generally what this comes down to, it's not whether or not you can get the players in there, the coaches in there, it's safety for the fans. You know, and so I think that that's probably what dictates this one. If it becomes an unsafe thing for fans to go to the game, then maybe they move it.

But they've been pretty reluctant in the past to move playoff games. So I think that's why they haven't really discussed it in earnest yet. And I think it would take the forecast getting even worse for them to do that. You know, let me throw this out there. Vrable's obviously a great candidate. If Harbaugh gobbled up the Chargers job, I think the Washington job is the second best one in the market. Is that where Vrable would lean? And what are you hearing?

Well, that's sort of interesting because the new head of football operations there is a guy named Adam Peters, right? Who was with Vrable in New England. And so I think, you know, AP would at least kick the tires on Mike Vrable and gauge his interest a bit. I think that there would be a good match there. I would also keep an eye on Vegas with Vrable. Tom Brady was at practice on Friday, their final practice of the regular season. And it was the first time Brady had been at the Raiders facility since before Josh McDaniels and Dave Ziegler were fired. Brady also, of course, is looking at buying a piece of the team.

That still needs to be approved by the league. But he certainly got Mark Davis's ear. So if Brady is involved in this coaching search, you know who he's very close with. The guy he played eight years together with in New England. And so Brady's involvement there could help them with Harbaugh. They want to make, you know, another run at Harbaugh. because there's the Michigan connection, but I think Brady's connection to Vrable is even stronger.

And the Raiders could offer Vrable the opportunity to set up the entire operation in his own image, which was sort of what he was looking to do in Tennessee. So I think the commanders did make some sense for Vrable, but I think the Raiders do too, Colin. Good stuff. Albert Breyer, Monday morning quarterback. That's exciting stuff.

Albert, great seeing him Friday. All right, thanks, Colin. Yep, he just called the league on the Steelers' Bill's game. You know, I'm thinking from a broadcaster, I'm like, if you have snow and then you have 60 million hour wins, first of all, you can't throw the ball. This can't. But then I'm thinking all the snow that it dislodges, like you can't see the field. So, I mean, I'll tell you something. These fans that go to games, it's remarkable.

Baseball gets drizzly, and they call the game. Football, you could be 65 mile an hour wins and people go to the game. I mean, how do you get to the stadium? How would you get to the stadium? I don't think I've ever been in 65-mile-hour winds. I don't think I have. Why would you be in 65? Well, I mean, if you love your team and, you know, that's what fans do.

You can love your team from your sofa with bonbons and fireplace lit. That's how I view it. But, you know, a lot of fans, they want to be there. They want to experience it. They want frostbite? Yeah, I mean, I don't know. It's 65-mile-hour winds. So I like to ski, right?

And so occasionally all over's looking. I don't mind skiing in cold weather. Wind is the, you know, to me is the stop sign. Like if I see wind, it's 65 miles an hour. They close a mountain because the ski lift is a swim. So a mountain's closing. But try to throw a football around. I mean, I don't even know how you play a game in 65 mile an hour wins.

My wife used to have to work in some HR. She used to go to Buffalo. She said the nicest people in the world, great place. And I was always like, it is eight months a year. Yeah. But there are limitations on how much I can tolerate as a fan. You like driving in snow, by the way? I don't like driving at all.

No. But if there's a palm tree and water, it's more enjoyable. I had a four-wheel drive and I was hot-dog in it in a parking lot when it was snowing. And it did not go well, skid it into a lamp post, totaled the car. Yeah, I thought I was, I could drive in the snow. I mean, I was like 24 years old. I was an idiot. I've seen pictures of you when you were like 20.

You had a lot of stuff to get through. What do you mean? I was enjoying life, bro. Come on. That was 20. You were a little ramboxious. photos of you at 20? No, just in a suit being a professional. Even at eight, nine. Yeah. Had a great parlay for you this weekend.

But just so y'all know. I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS. on the table right now. Thank you for finishing that sentence. I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Really?

Welcome back. I just saw a story. Kalin-Nabor, Washington Coach, is now who Alabama is focusing on. I said this on social media three days ago. So my sources, two sources told me three or four days ago, right after Nick retired, that Greg Byrne, the athletic director, had been keeping his eye on Kalin DeBore.

And I was told that by two separate sources, and they were rock solid sources, said Kalin DeBore's they got to keep your eye on. So he would not be overwhelmed. He's an offensive coach. His cupboard's obviously not bare. I have a theory. I'm going to throw this at you. is that now that we're going into a 12-team playoff, just think about this for a second.

I don't think you have to leave Washington to get to the playoff, and that's going to be really the goal for all the coaches going forward. Can you get to the playoff? That's a big part of it. So when you had a four-team playoff, it's very easy for Washington to get ignored, you know, right? I mean, they had the best quarterback in the country this year. Michael Pennicks, he couldn't even win the Heisman.

I guarantee you if he played at Ohio State, of Michigan or in Alabama, he wins the Heisman. So, I mean, the one national championship they had, they had to share that. So there's always been a feeling at Washington that you get ignored up in the Pacific Northwest. And recruiting is harder. You're not surrounded by states with tons of high school division one football talent. But with a 12-team playoff, it's different than a 4-team playoff. So as Washington moves to the big 10 next year, Harbaugh, if he leaves Michigan, they'll not be as good.

Now, it may take a few years, but it's very doubtful that one of Jim's assistance is as good as Jim Harbaugh. So Michigan at 80% of what they are if Jim leaves. Ohio State will make the playoff every year. And then it will be USC, Oregon, Washington, Michigan, those three vying for, those four vying for three spots. Because I think the Big Ten is going to get four teams in a year and the SEC is going to get four teams in. And then four others will come from Big 12, ACC, and, you know, small. conferences. So with a 12-team playoff, all you want to do is get into the playoff. And Washington, Oregon, USC, Michigan, Ohio State are the five best programs

going forward in the conference. Four of those five, I think, are going to get in every year. Now, you may have a year that Wisconsin gets in or Penn State gets in, but those are the really committed football program. So the ID you have to go to Alabama. All these coaches, now the top ones make $8, $9 million a year. It's not a money thing in BAML. I just think Brian Kelly at LSU, that's a handful. Kirby Smart, handful. Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss, now Sark's in it, if Oklahoma gets it right. That is a jammed-up SEC.

That is packed. So here was Joel Klatte yesterday why Kailen DeBore should be the top choice for Bama. He did more with a lesser roster than even Laning did at Oregon. So this guy is a guy that I think has been looking quietly. Jen Cohen was the athletic director that hired him at Washington. She's now the athletic director at USC. And so for Kalin DeBoer, who hires Jimmy Sexton, now he can be really in the middle of all the SEC conversation.

Alabama's going to try to go quickly. In my estimation, the most logical candidate in terms of the expediency of the way that they want to operate is Kalin DeBore. I would, I would, if I was Kalin-Dibor, consider the 12-team playoff. You can get there perhaps just as easy in the Big Ten as you can at Alabama. But Alabama has a better recruiting base in-state, bordering states. That is an advantage. It's harder to recruit, warm-weather kids in Texas and California to come up to the Pacific Northwest. It's always been an issue.

but when Washington has a good coach, they usually get to the top of college football, top five or six. So that's the latest. We don't know that it's, I'm just telling you what I was told by two sources, that Kalin DeBoer was going to always be somebody in their top two or three choices.

Sark has said, I'm not leaving. Dabo Sweeney, I'm not sure if he's been interviewed yet. Mike Norvell, great coach Florida State. He's staying. That's the latest. J. Mack with the news. No, no, no, no, no. Turn on the news.

This is the herd line news. One name we've heard in the NFL with a lot of coach openings, Dan Quinn, specifically Seattle. You know, defensive coordinator has been a head coach. Well, Micah Parsons on Dan Quinn's defense is one of the best defensive players in the league. And here's what he said about his defensive coordinator possibly leaving. It's the nature of the business. It could possibly be my last ride with you. And if it is, we're going to make it sure it's a damn good one.

I think he does a great job finding ways for you to love the game, find ways to go around the game. It isn't always, has to be hard, nose. I'm, you know, the coach. And I think it's more of a friendship. He's always there for me when I need him. And we have, we're not afraid to have this hard conversations, you know. Either there's father, the son, a player to coach, we have no matter what. So, you know, Dan's my guy.

And if he do leave me, you know, he does. you know, it's always loving. You know, he might take me with him. You never know. Yeah, they don't want that in Dallas. Dan is, many think, a good fit in Seattle, although it feels like Pete and Dan have the same ideology. That feels like a lateral move.

That's what the Patriots just did with Mayah. Right? Well, Seattle's got a good organization. Pete got to do Super Bowls. They may feel they want a younger version of Pete. I mean, Pete's beloved in Seattle. My sister's texting me. I watched this press conference.

It was so sad. mad. We love Pete. So it's like, you know, Pete. McVey and Shannon. Because they dominated Pete in recent years. If you're, you know, bring on another defensive guy. All I know, and I'm not saying

this because I'm from the Pacific Northwest, that roster is a quarterback away. That's the Tampa roster before Brady. It is a stacked roster. They got two backs, two corners. They have, they don't have quite the edge rush. Two good linebackers. They've got a good roster. The problem is,

Where are you going to find a quarterback? There isn't one a free agency. And if you're going to move up to get one in the draft, you've got to give up some. Okay. Here, here. Okay. Okay. So the Chargers have, what, the fifth pick?

They don't need a quarterback, a left tackle or an edge rusher in abundance in the top ten picks. Seattle calls the Chargers, says, let's flip. So the Chargers say, what are you going to give us? And they say, you give us your pick in the first round. you get our next two first round picks, and the Chargers could probably use a corner. They have Asante Samuel. Give us your number two corner and give us two first round picks, and we'll flip. The Chargers don't need what the top 12 picks provide.

Left tackles, quarterbacks, edge rushers. They don't need it. They could use a wide receiver, but one of them is gone before they pick, and there's not, there's a million receivers every year. So I think if I'm Seattle, I go give two firsts, a number two corner. I may have to give a couple seconds. That's the move. Seattle is a stacked roster.

Okay, but Seattle would take a quarterback at five, I assume. Absolutely. So then they're going to be really good in a playoff team every year, and that first-round pick you get from them is like 23 to 27. So what? It's two first-round picks. I'm picking at five? What if I can get Adunizze to replace Mike Williams and pair him with Keenan Allen to help Justin Herbert?

Do you remember when the Bengals had the choice of Penae Sewell or Jamar Chase? And all the old school guys, you've got to get an offensive tackle to protect Burrow. Thank you. We'll go with the wide receiver star. Kind of worked out well. Senul. Penais Seul's great. He's very good.

But Jamar Chase is unbelievable. And him plus Burrow, they get to a Super Bowl already. Now, Burrell's been hurt several times. Why? The O'Line's not very good. Well, he's the last Joe. That's his nickname. Sorry.

And by the way, Adam Schaeffer reports, there's a mystery team for Belichick. Well, we know it's not Washington because everybody's talking about that. it's not the Chargers. A mystery.

It's also been reported by another reporter. Apologized for not top my head knowing that there is a place Belichick is interested in that currently has a head coach. Albert Breer, 15 minutes ago, said there are teams that have coaches that are interested

in Belichick. Well, it's all pointing to one franchise. It's also pointing to Dallas and McCarthy. Oh, boy, that's not that's not what. You really are hot on that. I don't buy that at all. Well, we both think the past. You bet the Packers.

I'll be doing the Packers soon. I don't have them winning, though. I just think it's a wild fun game. Okay, well, it's about to get worse for the Eagles. So Jailer Hurtz has the finger injury, right? And here's what he had to say about his status. Yeah, just going out there and giving my best and doing my best. I told you it was a day-by-day thing.

And, you know, getting the preparation in this week doing everything that I can to lead the guys. Obviously, leaving that game and attempting to get. back in that game probably wasn't physically the best idea. Not having much control over the things that I want to do. But time, time will tell with that, and I can assure you everything's progressing in the right way. I'm really, really interested in Monday night.

The things aren't going well. So you never want to overreact to social media, right? You and I know that, be in this industry for a while. I'm a little temperamental like an NFL wide receiver. In my contract negotiation, if I scrubby, wouldn't that be like the management would be very freaked out? Oh, yeah. with the Cardinals. Oh, but he throws a beautiful ball. A.J. Brown does it with the Eagles. Oh, he's temperamental diva. Remember, Kyler, your guy did that. You remember that. A lot of people say it

was his social media director. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, Colin, here's the thing. A.J. Brown didn't practice yesterday. Now, he had the knee injury against the Giants. Now, this game is Monday, so they're technically a day behind on the practice reports. If he's unhappy, and he's

like, I don't want to risk further injury, I'm not playing. Listen, I know wide receivers aren't worth, like, you know, two points. He's valuable. Oh my gosh. He's had a bad December, so he's probably not in a great mood. He's not getting the ball. He's not happy.

Yeah. Maybe you're onto something with Shariati. I think McCarthy's a guy to watch. You keep saying like I make, it's coming out of nowhere. Dan Graziani said on the table. Adam Schaefter said mystery team for Belichick. That means a team with a coach. Albert Breer doubled down with Schaefter saying there's a team with a coach that Bill.

I'm not making anything up. It's like, good God, forget smoke and fire. The house is. burning. I just see smoke coming out of the chimney in Philadelphia. I'm like, yeah, that's the house that may be burning. All right. So we have another one. The final story here's another issue. So Antonio Pierce and the Raiders, the Raiders players love him, right? Pierce had a really strong end to the season. He did. He did. Everybody loves him. So Breer just said, Tom Brady was at practice. Tom Brady knows Harball. Tom Brady knows Rable. Well, guess what? Max

Crosby, who's on Antonio Pierce's defense, tweeted out, hashtag hire AP. He won. He won. Antonio Pierce. According to Ian Rappaport, Crosby is drawing a line in the sand regarding the next head coach. Maybe Crosby is going to say, get me out of here if you don't want Pierce. I've seen enough crap. Well, let me tell you something. Max Crosby, he can get a first round pick in a second. I mean, I love Max. You're moving off Max Crosby? No, I love. It's one of my favorite players. I think he's one of the great players in the league. Great story. But if he draws a line in the sand, I can get Vrabel or Pierce. I'm taking Vrable.

And if he wants to go out, you cross your fingers. You get two first for him. And I mean, there's not a lot of Max Crosby. be in the league. But eventually here, if you're giving me Vrable or Pierce, gosh, I like Vrable a lot. A lot. Those guys played hard for Pierce. They all are keeping up for him. I'm not denying it. I thought Antonio Pierce and I know him. Listen, Brady comes

in there and tries to say, hey, I'm getting my guy in. Sorry, guys. Well, Brady owns a team. That could be a rocky transition. Listen, there's not a ton of talent on that team, but Pierce coached them up. I think there's more talent than you think. I think the Raiders have players. I mean, I watched their last five games. They play.

They played toe to toe with teams. Where were those guys during the first 10 games in last year with McDaniels? Well, coaching matters. Didn't play very hard. Didn't like Piersen. Like Crosby said, hey, coaching matters. I'm not anti-Antonio Pierce. Vrables are really good coach.

Against number 14, Indiana, it all tips off at 7.30 Eastern only on Fox. So here are the coaching vacancies in the NFL. These are the current vacancies. Gerard Mayo's taking the Patriot's job.

So the current vacancies are the Chargers, the commanders, the Falcons, the Panthers, the Raiders, the Seahawks, the Titans. So the most cap space is the commanders. The best job probably because you have a quarterback is the Chargers. But the best roster is the Seahawks. The roster in Seattle, two backs, you got your tackles, your corners, your linebackers, your receivers. It's a really good roster. It's Tampa before Brady got there. They don't really have a weakness.

Their O-line ranked lower, but some of that, I think, is defensive coaches struggle, elevating O-line play. As we talked about earlier this year, if you go to the top five or six ranked O-lines, a lot of times it's an offensive coach. Similarly, the bad old lines are often defensive coaches. So I think the Chargers is the best job due to Justin Herbert. Commander's the most cap space. Seahawks the best gig.

So Titans don't have a quarterback. Raiders don't have a quarterback. Falcons don't. Panthers don't have much of anything. It is funny how the Seahawks are not included in this. The best roster and cap space, because most of their great players are young, is Seattle. That's a great job. Winning culture, stable ownership. There's no weakness outside a quarterback. Even Gino as a backup is a great backup. And like nobody's mentioning that job.

Like, why wouldn't Harbaugh consider it? You want the answer? Yeah. You've got to face McVeigh and Shanahan four times each season. You look at that Atlanta job. Remember, Brady leaves goes to Tampa. Boom. Win's a Super Bowl because the division's a joke. Baker Mayfield looks to resuscitate his career. Goes to Tampa. Oh, they're going to be terrible. Wins the division. He's in the playoffs. You go to Atlanta. Go ahead and write the ticket. You're the best team

in the division. You're the best coach. And, you know, what are you worried about? Derek Har, Bryce Young? No. So Harbaugh went to Stanford. They were the worst program in Power 5 in the country. Pete Carroll had USC rolling. A couple years later, he beat USC as a 40-point dog. By the way, Pete was in

Seattle. Owned the division. Here came Harbaugh. I don't think Harbaugh thinks about other coaches. I think he looks at his style and his game as better than everybody else's. I think he looks at McVeigh and Shannon and thinks, I'll beat those guys. I mean, Shannon doesn't have a ring. I mean, I think he looks

at McVeigh, he's like, oh, he likes to pass, I like to run. I don't think Harbaugh thinks about that. It's just, yes, we know the commanders have the most cap space, and we know the Chargers have the quarterback. Seattle's got the best roster. I mean, honestly,

two backs, two corners, three receivers, both tackles, two excellent linebackers. There is no huge hole. Everybody in the league needs another edge rusher. Go buy one. Their cap space is reasonable. They have a great GM, solid ownership, wildly supported in the city. That job to me is like, hello, Dan Quinn's good, but I don't know.

If I was a candidate, you go to Washington, new owner, don't have a quarterback, Two, Eagles have a quarterback. Dallas has one. I don't know. I look at Washington. There's a lot of unknowns. You look at the Chargers. Again, they have a history of not quite living up to expectations.

Seattle has been well run for 14 years with Pete. So would you put Seattle where the second best job? Yeah, I mean, I think to me, the Chargers job just simply because of Herbert's the best job. But this is why I stay with Seattle. Seattle's the second best job. I thought you loved the idea of Washington for Harba. I did because his brothers in Baltimore and his parents can live there. But Jim's been out west.

Stanford, San Diego, Niners. He's fine out west. I just, I look at the Seattle job, and I'm like, why, and not just because I'm from there. Why are we not mentioning this roster is ready to win weapons, corners, tackles, running backs. Maybe he doesn't want to, maybe he likes the West Coast, but not the Northwest. He wants no part of Seattle and the dreary rain and the cloudy. I don't know. I just think it's, is it, why is it, why it's, I know it's geographically pinned up in the

Northwest, but it's a great roster. I think you're way low on it. Is Atlanta that much worse of a roster? Beech, give me, Jason Robinson over Kenneth Walker. Give me, Atlanta's got two backs. I like Seattle's receivers. Drickland did's excellent. Come on.

Yeah, I get Metcalfe, Smith & Jigba. We can look at the offensive line rankings. No offense. I think the O line for Atlanta is better than Seattle. But the defensive personnel for Seattle is excellent. Now, again, Justin Herbert is the game changer. That's the best job because you have a very competent quarterback. Albert Brier talked about Herbert, the Chargers, hardball, and a new wrinkle.

If the right opportunity is there for him, the time is now, the NCAA sanctions could be coming down. got 44 seniors. He just won a national title. He's done everything he set out to do of Michigan, and he's got unfinished business in the NFL. So I think the time is now. I think the right place is the Chargers. Just an interesting little nugget here for you, if you want it. Yesterday, they interviewed the Giants Assistant General Manager, Brandon Brown, who's very well regarded. He's a guy who not only has great scouting history, but also has a law degree. He's got a relationship with Harbaugh. So that's one I would keep an eye on potentially pairing a GM with Harbaugh as that coach. Now, Pete Carroll and Harbaugh have a frosty relationship so that could hurt the Seahawks.

But from what I gathered, my intel is Pete wants to coach again. He doesn't want to be an advisor. He's doing that now. It sounds good. Pete wants to coach again. And I think he'd be a more than capable coach. So if Pete stays in Seattle, you know, he would not advocate for Jim Harbaugh. But he would advocate for Dan Quinn, but that,

That just feels like a lateral move to me. I guess my whole point is there's some bad jobs there. Seattle of all the jobs, including the Chargers in Washington, has the best roster. And almost all of their great players outside of Jamal Adams are cheap. They're on good team-friendly contracts. I don't know. It just seems obvious. I think you need to make a list, you know, like before I moved west.

We did the pros and cons list, right? Like maybe Harbaugh needs to do something like that. Like, it's not just the roster of Seattle. It's like, I don't know, like the division I think matters a ton. Well, if I go to the Chargers, I get my homes twice a year. Good luck with that. And I get Sean Payton twice. I mean, every division outside.

The NFC South is a mess. Outside of that, all these divisions are you got great coaches. You've got innovation. You've got star quarterbacks. I mean, at some point, you can't run. You can't be afraid of challenges. Like, there are situations. where I look at Kalin-de-Bore, and I'm like, just stay at Washington, get into the Big Ten,

and if Ryan Day moves, take that job. Instead of going to the South and replacing a legend, that's one of those where I would, I would have a little bit of a pause taking that job. But I doubt he will. I was told by a source this week, Kalin-de-Bore's temperament, it doesn't matter where he's at. NFL College, Bama, Washington, Ohio State, it doesn't matter. He's built to be a head coach with intense pressure.

It just doesn't affect. He's like Chris Peterson. It's not going to affect him. He's just going to be a good coach. So hold on, hold on. Yeah, this is a good point. Somebody put this on the screen. If Harbaugh is worried about tough competition,

why take the Michigan job? Ohio State had owned Michigan, and Michigan State had won like 11, 12, 13 games, hadn't they the previous years? So your two rivals were rolling. He took the job. Make it a great job. Michigan, man.
