Rams, it was very an artistic last night. It was a frustrating. Boy, back-to-back nights. We got the Dodgers and their exhilarating, nerve-wracking, unbelievable win over the St. Louis Cardinals. And then the Rams.

We've had a, you and I have had about a three-year stretch in Los Angeles. A lot of happy mornings. Oh, you mean, like, since we've been working on the show together? Yeah, it's almost as if since Joy and I started doing this show together, the city of Los Angeles is a better place to live for all of us. That's how we view it in our self-absorbed world. No, it's like we've, sometimes you get lucky. Boston had that half-decade run. And right now Los Angeles, our teams win.

And they win close. And they went big. And it's just. There's a lot of stars, a lot of aggressive owners, a lot of standards. Well, you know. And you see that really, actually, I think it's reflected kind of in fan bases, too. And you talk about Boston, that's a demanding city where they expect excellence from their teams.

And you really can't be bad. That's not an option. So it's reflected in your sports teams because everybody has held to that same standard. when she started winning. Yeah. And, you know, years ago, you and I talked about this, when LeBron James came to town, we said, are all these other competitive teams saying,

okay, LeBron and the Lakers are two huge brands, we've got to be interesting. And so the Clippers, Steve Balmer, said, we've got to go after Kauai. We have to get stars. We are in the same building. And I do think, you know, SoFi Stadium, Stan Cronky.

I talked to Stan Cronky about this a week ago. Like Stafford felt like an L.A. Rams quarterback. We've got a $6 billion stadium. We want to feel big. Yeah, not just feel big. You have to compete big. Yeah. And that's what being aggressive is.

All right, Fox bet. Here, all of our odds on our blazing five picks. We were three in three last week. We told you to get the Rams. The Rams counts. We have six picks this week. The Rams were the first one yesterday. They'll want to know.

Here we go. Let's blaze it up. It's Collins, Blazing Five. Eagles and Panthers. I like Carolina here, and I like the number of lot minus three. First of all, Sam Darnold didn't play great against the Cowboys, but he's been wildly productive. He had four touchdowns, two running, two passing, and five rushing touchdowns this year, and Christian McCaffrey, it looks like he's back and he'll play. But the Panthers defense is the

story. It has been excellent this year, and I believe they feel embarrassed by their performance last week. Don't forget, they can really ball. The Eagles have lost three straight, and their defense is falling apart. They've allowed four. 40 plus points in back-to-back games. And the Eagles O-line is missing four starters this week. Second straight road game. I like Carolina here to win it and cover, 27 to 20 Panthers. Packers and Bengals.

Upset alert. I'm going to take the Bengals plus three. I'm betting the money line. Joe Burroughs won back-to-back games for the first time in his career. Notice the protection. Sack just won. over the last two weeks. He's really blossomed. All his numbers are exceptional. Jamar Chase is another Bingle draft pick on the offensive side that's hit. The Bingle's defense now. Last in the NFL in

sacks, this year, top 10 in sacks. They're getting pressure. Jeyer Alexander could be out for the Packers, maybe the best corner in the league, and Green Bay's red zone defense has been awful. Of the 11 trips against their defense in the red zone, people have scored on all of them. That's the worst in the league. Upset Bengals 28, 27, their biggest win in years. Dolphins and Buccaneers. I'm going to take the Dolphins plus 10. Tampa's not good enough.

I'm sorry. They're not good enough to give up 10 points. Gronk is out. Tom Brady didn't play well without Gronk last week. He's his security blanket. There are three of their top four cornerbacks from week one. are all out. They're banged up on the back end. And by the way, this defense, look at the numbers. You know, I love Todd Bowles. They're not playing well. They're not getting a pass rush.

And the dolphins have 34 quarterback hits this year, second most in the league. Tampa wins, but I think it's ugly. It's played between the 20s. And I'm not surrendering 10 points. I'll take Miami plus 10. They'll lose 24, 20, but it's too many points. for a team in Tampa right now that's not playing particularly well. Browns and Chargers. Okay, this is a value pick. So Cleveland played very poorly on offense. So everybody now doubts them.

The Chargers won a stand-alone game on Monday, so now they're overvalued. The bet is the Browns here plus two and a half. I know what you're saying. Colin the Browns, that offense was focused this week because they were nothing last week. The stadium's also going to be 50-50 Browns fans. The defense for the Browns is coming into its own.

But this game is really simple. The Browns have the number one rush offense in the league, and the Chargers have the fourth worst rushing defense. Cleveland will control the clock, and therefore I like the pick. The Browns win a close one. You know I like the Chargers. I think they're overvalued by the line in this spot.

Brown's 2726. Bills at Chiefs. Yeah, this could be a blowout to me. Folks, we got to be honest about Kansas City. They've got problems defensively. You're talking about a Buffalo Bills team that gets three points. Their defense this year, and they've really worked on this. Sean McDermott, a defensive coach, the last two drafts,

they've really tried to pass up their defensive front. It is working. Takeaways are first in the league. Passer rating defense first in the league. The Chiefs win against the Eagles last week. It was Kansas City's first win by more than six points since week eight last year. They can't stop anybody. 30 first in scoring defense.

They're allowing almost seven yards of play. That's something the Vegas pays attention to. I like Buffalo here, and I think they could win it by more than this. I'll take the three points, Buffalo, 36, 28. All odds provided by Fox Bet. As I said, it's going to be a good week for Ohio. Last week was a good, rare, great week for New York football, and we told you we picked the Giants to upset the Saints.

I think the Bengals are going to have their biggest win in years. You know I like underdogs I always do. And I think the Bengals story is they got the tackles right. So Joe Burrell, who's just becoming a really, really captivating player. Good for him. Off that injury. We didn't even know if he was going to be available in September. Good for Joe Burrell.

Peter King, NBCSports.com. Football Morning in America joins us. So let's go backwards for a moment. and talk Seahawks Rams last night. I worry about this. So stuff gets out. You're a reporter. Stories get out when somebody wants them out.

Some side wants a story out. So last year, offseason, Russell Wilson's not happy. Suddenly four teams are out. That gets out because somebody wants it out. It could be Russell's side, whoever. And I know through people close to Russell that he's not been happy in the last year. A little bit of an outdated offense. Well, now the defense looks outdated.

You know, I watched them last night, and I don't want to overreact here, but this defense is bad. I don't see how you solve it. They're up against the cap. I think Seattle's in some – I don't want to overreact to a standalone game, Peter, but this defense's been bad for two years now mostly, has it not? Look, the defense is no longer the Legion of Boom. It's not even close. It is a bottom five NFL defense.

and they came very close to getting what I might call lucky win last night. When Carlos Dunlop batted down that ball to Matthew Stafford, you know, at one point, you know, you start to figure, oh, okay, well, now they got a chance. And they really did have a chance, but the sort of fluky interception and all that. But Colin, look, here's the end game for Russell Wilson. At the end of this year, I think he and his agent, Mark Rogers, start to figure out, should we sign another contract with the Seattle Seahawks? Or should we basically say, listen, before this gets all ugly, why don't you trade us somewhere,

you know, that we can both agree would be preferable to us, you'll get three ones and we'll all live happily ever after. I'm just absolutely guessing. Yeah. Okay, because that's all you can do at this point, and I can tell you right now, the Seahawks absolutely unequivocally don't want to trade Russell Wilson. But, you know, they may have to come to a pragmatic decision at the end of the year. Yeah. You know, it's interesting. I said most of us didn't watch Lion Games for 13 years with Stafford. They were 1 o'clock and they were losing generally to somebody. Matt's very good, obviously. But I said this earlier, Peter, that when you get in a relationship, don't give up too much yourself. Last year, McVeigh's brand is smart, clever, misdirection, play action. He was second

in the NFL last year with it. Now they're second to last. Now it's all drop back. And listen, there's a reason when you go to a concert, you want your band to play the favorite hits. McVeigh, I think, is given up a little too much of himself and that the clever and the misdirection is kind of, it was very, it worked. And I think Stafford deserves some of that. They become just very much a predictable drop-back team. And I do think Peter McVeigh, some of his wizardry, is his misdirection. They don't even look like other teams. They were very clever.

Jet sweeps. I kind of feel like they've gone too far the other way. Your thoughts? Yeah, I know exactly what you're saying, Colin, but I will also make this point that if we were speaking a week ago today, never would be heard a discouraging word. And in the last two weeks, people have done a few things to them defensively, particularly Arizona. And I think we got to give it a little bit more rope than that.

And here's why. Because in the first three weeks of the season, Matthew Stafford was, I don't want to say, the perfect quarterback, but he was very close to being the perfect Sean McVeigh quarterback. eminently trustworthy more than any quarterback he could have in that regard. So I'd prefer to give this another couple of weeks before I make any value judgments on this. They're still a very explosive offense. And as long as they can get that one or two plays a game or the threat of one or two plays

a game from Deshaun Jackson, I'm okay with what they've been doing so far. By the way, what was your big takeaway from the Mac Jones Brady game in Foxboro for those who haven't read your stuff? Tell the audience your takeaway from that performance. That both teams won. That, you know, the Patriots, if they weren't going to win the game, at the very least, it had to look like they knew what they were doing when they let Brady walk and eventually drafted Mac Jones. And time will tell long term. but look, Colin, if Tom Brady had stayed in 2020, it was not going to be a pretty picture, nor do I think even with Hunter Henry and John Huss Smith and Nelson Agilor necessarily would it be a pretty picture.

He needs to be protected well and he needs to have great weapons. That's what he has in Tampa. And Mack Jones. So Mac Jones took four or five really big shots in that game, and he can't continue to do that. But Mac Jones, at the very least, can get out of his own way. You know, and I think at this point, Mac Jones completed 19 in a row in that game, showed everybody, you know what,

the future is not bleak without Tom Brady. We're going to be okay. And even though the Patriots are 8 and 12 post- Brady, I don't think that's going to last. In fact, I think they'll contend for a wild card spot. All right. So I said earlier today, Peter, that first impressions, we all know there's the old saying are very powerful.

And it's very easy when Daniel Jones came into this league, a lot of fumbles, a sixth round, a sixth pick. We thought it was a reach by Dave Gettleman, got banged around a lot. It's easy to bail on him. He's not turning the ball over. He's the same size as Justin Herbert. He's got a good arm. He's mobile.

There's not a lot he can't do. He went to Duke. He's a bright kid. 6'5, 235. No turnover. He's got to fumble this year. And I watched him this past weekend, and I've got to be honest. I don't think he's the problem for the Giants.

I think I think Jason Garrett has to open things up. I think they're a little conservative with him. But I watched Daniel and I thought, I don't think he's the issue. I think they found their guy. Hey, look, the offensive line is much more of an issue overall than Daniel Jones is. And look, he's got to prove that he can play consistently well without turning it over. and once he gets his receivers either all healthy or enough of them healthy so that week in and week out, they can be a big, big factor and they can play competitively with Dallas.

You know, look, this is not exactly like Tampa Bay, New England this weekend, the Giants in Dallas, but it's a little bit like that. The Giants cannot get blown out 37 to 10 in this game. Can't do it. Yeah. They need to play this. game competitively, and I think they will. So do I. Their offense showed enough signs last week that I think they will play this game

competitively, and it'll be a game into the fourth quarter in Arlington, Texas. You know, Peter, last week, I mean, listen, I'm going to be fair-minded. Aaron Rogers sometimes drive me nuts, but he's great, and he's too smart. When he starts flirting with coaches, you know, it kind of, it raises my eyebrow. So the one team in the NFL that has a great defense and a Super Bowl winning coach and good receivers that maining to quarterback next year is Pittsburgh. And he starts flirting with Mike Tomlin. And I'm like, Aaron knows what he's doing.

He can see around corners, Peter. It's funny because I put a list this morning as I was doing prepping for the show. And I'm like, Pittsburgh's one of the two to three spots that actually he would fit. Privately he's told people I'd love to once have a great defense. What did you make of the flirtation with Tomlin and Aaron for the last two weeks? I mean, you know, flirtation, respect, whatever the word might be. You know, Colin, this is going to be decided either this coming February or the February after that. If it's decided this February, then Aaron Rogers is going to be traded to a team,

and he's not necessarily going to have the first choice where he gets traded to. It almost certainly would be if the Packers are correct, or if they do it their way, it'll be to an AFC team. Yes. Two most logical teams are Denver and Pittsburgh. Yeah. Now, he could wait until after the 22 season, and if he does that, he can go wherever he wants.

The danger there is, let's say he really does. want to play for Pittsburgh. He could either get traded to Pittsburgh this coming off season, or at the age of 39 in March of 23, he could sign with Pittsburgh, but he risks one thing. Okay? And that is, what if the Steelers, whoever it is, Randolph, Haskins, John Doe out of the draft this year, what if the Steelers have their quarterback and they don't have a spot then? Yeah. So to me, if Aaron Rogers definitely wants to go to Pittsburgh, the way to go is to demand a trade after this season and tell his team, Brian Gutakunst, I want to go to Pittsburgh. And if the trades are even remotely similar, I think he'll get his way.

Yeah, that is an interesting dilemma because if you're Aaron, you'd prefer that your team doesn't have to give up a lot. to, you know, when Carmelo Anthony said, I'm going from the Nuggets to the Nix, and he demanded a trade, and the Nix had to give the nuggets everything, and he went to a house with only a chandelier, and he was the only one. The benefit is always going to a team that doesn't have to give up five draft picks and three players to get you. So it's a fascinating dilemma. Peter King, good stuff.

Thanks, Peter. All right, Colin. Yeah, that is interesting. Ideally, you don't want them to give up two first-round picks. Those could be wide receivers for you. But if I'm Aaron, but if I'm Aaron, I don't want to, because Pittsburgh's going to draft a quarterback. They have to. They maybe give Dwayne Haskins a year.

But if they're going to be bad this year, you don't want to be bad for two years. And your division's getting really good. So aggressive generally when, if you want something, go get it. Pittsburgh has traditionally not been aggressive. Well, not traditionally, but over the past couple years, not been very aggressive. Well, Mika Fitzpatrick was aggressive. Yeah, but that's, like, why are we in this situation? Why are we having this conversation?

Ben Rothesberger. That was not an aggressive situation. Yeah. To your point earlier, there's a lot of nostalgia attached to this. They're going to have to handle it. Trust me. Did you grow up in a nostalgia-ish part of Pittsburgh? Like a very popular old neighborhood like Wanstatt did?

No, I wouldn't call it a nostalgia place. It's just a regular place. Yeah, just a neighborhood. But in Pittsburgh, though. Oh, nostalgia's big. Nostalgia's big and the Steelers and how they're going to handle this is big. Now, they want to win, but this offseason will be very interesting for the Steelers and how they handle

Ben Ross. The bottom line is Aaron Rogers has told friends publicly. He's told friends this, because I know people that know Aaron is that, God, I would love to have some of Brady's defenses. I would have loved to have had some of Russell Wilson's defenses. He's had one great defense. They won a Super Bowl. I mean, Peyton Manning, I don't know if he said it privately, but probably would have loved to have had some of. He had some good. ones with Dungey. But I mean, a great deal of, if you start looking around to Aaron's peers,

his contemporaries. Yeah. Peyton Manning, defensive coach, Ben a defensive coach, Brady mostly a defensive coach, Russell Wilson, a defensive coach. So best spots for him are Denver defensive coach, Pittsburgh defensive coach. He doesn't need the offense. Aaron will run the offense himself. No, we know that we know that he's going to end up. If they're going to trade him, they want to trade him to the AFC. Yeah. And he wants to go somewhere where he's going to feel comfortable, like he has a say. I mean, you're going to have a say in Pittsburgh.

My question is, what is Pittsburgh going to do? I don't see them handling this in a way that we're all going to say, yeah, that makes sense. It's just they haven't. You wouldn't go into the situation within Rothensburg or this year the way that you have if you had any idea that he was going to be this way. Like, they don't have a future in that situation. Yeah, I'd give up, you know, they don't, they're not,

because Aaron's so expensive, it's going to be a cap situation where you're going to have to look at, okay, here comes Aaron, who do we have to give up? I do wonder, though, with Russell also, because this is becoming a conversation with him, do Russ and Aaron start, you know, reworking their contracts? I don't think Russell Wilson is going to be in Seattle in two years. I have doubts in a year. And CR is going to have a big say where he goes.

This is not going to. If Green Bay loses Aaron, C.R. is not going to Green Bay. That ain't happening. I'm just going to tell you right now. No, they have Jordan Love. That's why they're in the situation in the first place. Right, right.

But there's certain CR, like Giselle, Giselle's not going to Indianapolis with Tom. That's just not going to happen. No, Sierra's not going to Green Bay. She's not going to Green Bay. And tells me where we go. Of course, as she should. We know best.

We've got Penn State at Iowa. I think it's going to be low scoring, potential upset there. I like Penn State, but it's going to be two excellent defenses that can really run. Texas, Oklahoma, Steve Sarkeesian, could he knock off Lincoln Riley? And then Sunday is fantastic. Keep your eye on the bingles, potentially, potentially upsetting Green Bay, who's a little banged up in the secondary. Joy Taylor with a news. No, no, no, no, no.

Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. So last night's game really had injuries to both quarterback's fingers, but Matthew Stafford was able to continue playing. Russell Wilson was not. He was forced to leave after Aaron Donald's kind of collided with Russ's finger, which we got to see up close and personal many times. After the game, Pete Carroll said Russ has a badly sprained finger.

Yeah, it looked like that. And there's no timetable for his recovery. We're showing it here. X-rays did not. not show a fracture, but he will reportedly get an MRI today and seek consultation from a hand specialist here in L.A. The initial belief is that he has a mallet finger, which essentially is a sprain joint, which makes it hard to flex. All of it sounds extremely painful, and obviously it was too much for him to, I can't look at it, come back in the game. And Stafford had one too.

Yes, but Stafford obviously was not as extreme because he was able to continue playing. And You know, Gino Smith came in, had a nice drive. 10 to 17. Well, he had great first drive. It was insane. 131 yards, one touchdown, and then the interception at the end of the game, which was kind of a... Well, receiver felt was weird play, yeah.

Yeah, Tyra Lockett tripped. It wasn't necessarily his fault, but it did kind of take the air out of the end of the game. But the first drive for Gino was... Oh, so exciting. What am I watching? He made three great plays. I felt good for Gino. As good as I felt for Gino is as bad as I felt for him because he came out, ready for

that drive. He's like smiling, so excited. Like that's, you know, that's like when you really remember like this is a game and like this is fun. Well, that was not a backup quarterback drive. Like you were watching it going what? I was literally at my couch going, I've seen Gino Smith play. What am I watching here? He made a great throw to the end zone like a big boy. No, I mean, that's what Gino's capable. But like that's what being a backup quarterback is. Like you got to come in and, you know, make something happen. And then if it goes on for too long and something bad might happen. Now, that interception, I don't think, was Gino's fault. But that game was very, the first half was uneventful. And then it really exposed the struggles that the Cioxx defense has.

I mean, they are, they're in bad shape. Seahawks are 18th in the NFL and rushing also, which is a problem because they really need to run the ball. And, you know, Russ is a very consistent and available, durable quarterback. So we'll see what happens with this injury. Obviously, So you don't want to go moving forward with Gino for multiple games. They have multiple tough games coming up, too. Yeah. So hopefully they'll get some good news on Russ today. So another injury that we're watching is Jimmy Garoppolo,

who hasn't been practicing this week because he's dealing with a calf injury. Tray Lance has been getting the first team reps in preparation for the Cardinals game on Sunday. But Kyle Shanahan said Jimmy G wants to get out there for practice today and test what he can do. Jimmy told me he wants to give it a go, so we'll see him out on the practice field. If he looks good, then I'll have a shot. If he can't, then we'll shut him down. Jimmy, it's more just his health. And if he feels good enough to where he can protect himself,

he feels confident to step into all of his throws. Jimmy's been here long enough, and he's not a guy who's just sitting here in rehab and all week and checked out. He's a guy who, besides the practice field, you would think he was starting. The fact that he wants to give it a go means he's feeling better, but you never really know until he goes out there and does a full drop back and has to react and really step into some throws. And that's what you want to see from.

Really tough. game to be having to deal with this kind of injury going into the Cardinals. Cardinals are favored by five, according to Fox Bet, but, you know, they have to run with Trey Lance. It's exciting because we'll get to see what Trey Lance can do. That's a tough spot. You don't want to be doing this against a divisional game against the Cardinals. And it could also be a shootout.

So you may have to, if you'd love to get into an ugly low-scoring game where Trey can run a little, 20, if you're, the Arizona kind of forces you to throw 35 times. Well, you got to score more than 30 points. I know. That's what they're putting up in every single game. So not the ideal situation for the Niners this weekend, but a big divisional matchup, nonetheless. And Sunday will mark almost one year since Dak had his season ending ankle injury.

He'll be facing the same team he was playing against when it happened in the Giants. And as he prepares for this week's matchup, he said he decided not to watch any more replays at that moment. Oh, yeah. I definitely fast-forward through that play. As I've watched that play a couple of times, and yeah, when it comes up, it's just I don't watch the – I can say I watch the beginning of it, but not the end of the run. So I mean, and I don't think much about it. And then, yeah, as I said, it's kind of past it.

And it's whatever, not something I care to see and know that I've done a lot to get past it. Cowboys are favored by seven. That's a lot. I, I, this, I'm a Giants fan. Now, you got to, I'm a value investor. Yes. I don't know if they're going to win. But that line was eight initially.

If you got eight, I didn't do it because I had seven. If I would have had eight at a taking them, I think New York keeps it close. You know, Joe Judge has only been blown out one time as coach of the Giants. They lose, but they lose close. And they're not giving the ball up. And it's a divisional game. It's a divisional game. It feels like a lot of points.

And I'm very high on the Cowboys right now. And they're playing, they're playing great. Their defense looks good. Michael Parsons. They're flying around. Yeah, but seven is a lot of points for a divisional game against the Giants. But to Jack's point, he is moving past it. He has looked great and looks confident.

That's a big thing to move past. Cowboys feel for real this year. Yeah, this show, I don't give a lot of love to the Cowboys, and not because I don't love them, because they've been averaged for most of the last 25 years, slightly better than average. So this year they feel like they're slightly better than slightly better than average. So it's a good space for them.

The last couple nights have been so great, and not just because we live in Los Angeles, but we got this incredible Dodger win, which was just you couldn't get up off the couch. And then, you know, my wife's out of town now, and the dogs are out of town.

So it's just me in a pork chop. I'm doing nothing but sitting there watching sports. And the last two nights, I've been sitting there and thinking, you know, I'm lucky to do what I do. It just riveting games, sports. Tomorrow is great on Fox. We got big college football games all over the country and then Sunday. And then I just, I feel like I'm so grateful that, you know, our country's been turned a little upside down by, you know,

what we've been dealing with with the COVID and stuff, and everybody's yelling and screaming at each other, and we don't feel quite as united as I wish we did. But I just love seeing the fans. I love seeing a Pack Dodgers Stadium. I love the wet fans up in Seattle or whatever kind of weather it was. And it was just, it's really touching. Like I feel very fortunate.

We've gotten back-to-back great nights of America at its best, loving their local teams. We will never take sports for granted again. At least I won't. Because I just took it for granted for 30 years. I didn't take it for granted, but you didn't realize how much not only sports means to your life, but how much it means to our routine just as a people and being able to just sit down and turn a game on and enjoy and watch the competition. It wasn't raining.

I'm going with Wilder. That's my pick. In a decision. Fury, I don't like this going to gain, what do you say, 30 pounds? 20. He's a little loose to begin with. He doesn't have the tightest body. I don't like that idea.

I'm boxing later today. You're boxing later today? Well, I mean, workout. Oh, you do that? Yeah. I'll tell you, since my wife left for a week, she didn't leave me. She left me for a week. I didn't have socks this morning.

I'm not wearing socks. Stuff runs out. I don't have any socks. What do you mean? I don't have any socks. It took me 15 minutes to find a toothpaste. The whole house is like a haunted. There's just a mystery.

I'm opening doors. I've never knew existed trying to find stuff. I got to be honest with you. I need a wife. I need my wife. You do. I need her back. So in the NFL, there's kind of a general rule.

If you draft somebody, you're more loyal to that player, you know, confirmation bias. You don't want to bail on your draft pick after a year because you're acknowledging, yeah, I screwed up the draft pick. That's why it was so rare when Steve Kime, the GM of Arizona, bailed on Josh Rosen for Kyler Murray. He also fired his coach after a year. So he admitted the two most important things in the league, quarterback coach, I made a big mistake last year. That is incredibly rare. That just doesn't happen in the NFL. I'm not sure it's ever happened before.

You've got to give Steve Kheim credit. But if you inherit somebody else's picks or coach, it's different. Never forget that Andrew Barry, the GM of Cleveland and Kevin Stofansky, the coach of the year, inherited Baker Mayfield. He's not theirs. They're trying to make it work. And it's very interesting. We have to judge quarterbacks. Let's be fair here on what they have to work with.

Right? It's a salary cap league. Baker's not making money. So Baker has three or four things going for him. Great offensive line. Probably the best in the league. Number one rush game. A star receiver, either Jarvis Landry or right now, Odell.

And he's got a very, very competent offensive coach. Kevin Stavansky won coach of the year. He's a very good coach, one of the better young offensive coaches. So let's look at Baker's numbers compared to DAC, who has the same thing. So Baker, 65%, 89 passer rating, two touchdowns, two picks. Only the Bears have fewer touchdown passes. So I would say Dak Prescott also has a top five offensive line, a robust running game, a star receiver or two, and a competent offensive coach.

Well, Dak's numbers blow Baker away. All right, well, let's go to another guy that has a defensive coach, but I think Kirk Cousins has a great running game when Dalvin Cook's healthy, excellent receivers, a decent offensive line, and a capable coach in Mike Zimmer, though defensive. Oh, his numbers are much better than Bakers, too. Folks, Jimmy Garoppolo's numbers are better than Bakers. This GM and coach did not draft Baker.

inherited Baker. That's why this game this weekend's important because he's going to be going up against the contemporary Justin Herbert, Baker Mayfield. Justin Herbert, Baker Mayfield. The GM's looking down. Then it's Kyler Murray. And then it's Lamar Jackson. And then it's Joe Burrow, side by side.

Not great. Now, I defended Baker after last weekend. Everybody has a stinker. But he's got to get this thing with Odell Beckham Wright. Since O'Dell Beckham came to Cleveland, you got to get the star receiver right. Dak and Amari work. I mean, Stafford's working with Cooper Cup and last night, Robert Woods. You got to get that right.

Kirk Cousins, Jefferson. You know, it works. You got to make that work. Baker and O'Dell Beckham. I'm not blaming anybody. It doesn't work. O'Dell talked about that. Anybody who wants to be great and expects that level of greatness is going to be not happy with

the result if it isn't what they were aiming to get. So it's just something we've got to figure out. We're winning. I think it'd be easier to create a little controversy if we were losing. So we'll keep the train rolling, 3-1. Just keep it rolling. Now, I heard this week through my labyrinth of sources that the Cleveland Radio is kind of picking on Baker,

and you should slow down. He needs support, not a lot of negative criticism, and he is better than his backup case. Keenham, although that was the prototype I said when Baker came into the league, I said he has a much better arm, but he and Case Keenham are kind of athletically sized kind of the same guy. And Case Keenum at one point won 11 games with the Vikings when he had support, a good old line, good receivers, good run game, played with the lead. But it is important to know when you look at what Baker has.

Excellent all line, great run games, star receiver, excellent tight ends, offensive coach. His numbers are completely pedestrian. Completely pedestrian. They're not good enough. and these guys inherited him, they didn't draft him. So these next six, seven games, when he's playing his contemporaries, the Burroughs, the Lamar's, the Herbert's, the Kyla Murray's, he's not only going to win those games.

He's got to help win those games. Can't all be running. Can't have two touchdown passes at this point. Only the bears have fewer. All right, so let's talk about this. So I don't think, you know, this would be called speculation on Russell Wilson. but it's not that much speculation because stories get out when somebody wants them out. And Russell Wilson in the offseason, it was brief, but there was some contempt with the organization.

He was not happy with Seattle, and he released four teams. Four teams suddenly surfaced, and his wife, Sierra is an entertainer, and it just so happened. They're all entertainment towns. Dallas, Chicago, Las Vegas, and New Orleans, lounges, concerts. These are, you know, along with Miami and L.A. A little juicier towns, right? You got a little action there. And so let's eliminate if Russell wanted out after the year.

Because I do think it's this organization right now, I don't think Russell's happy. I know that for a fact. He's not in love with everything here, but he'll be a good soldier during the season. So let's eliminate the Bears. They're not going to go get him because they've got Justin Fields. And let's eliminate the Cowboys. They shouldn't. They have Dak Prescott.

deal's done. I think the Raiders would be a 50-50 call, but I do think the Raiders would kick their tires on it, but I will say this again. Derek Carr has been the life preserver the last several years, not the issue. He's not the hole in the boat. He's the Bondo fixing the hole or the row in the boat. So I don't think Derek Carr is the issue. But I do think John Gruden would look around and make some calls. I think New Orleans, there's two or three teams that I think Sierra would Russell and Sierra, it's a package deal. She's not going to Green Bay. I doubt highly she would go to Denver. My guess is Sean Payton, New Orleans, you know, more East Coast. I think that feels right. Atlanta could work for me, but between Matt Ryan's

contract and Russell's, I don't think it could work. Miami is very fascinating. It's an international city. Miami's an entertainment capital kind of city like a Vegas or an L.A. or a New York. We had an argument this morning. I do not think the Jets or Giants would move off their quarterbacks. Although Russell Wilson is good enough, you'd have to consider it as a staff. You'd call the owner in. Russell's the kind of guy you'd have to consider it. But New Orleans, Miami, and a little bit Vegas, I'd keep your eyes on.

But, you know, the other thing, we were talking about this this morning, and I thought it was a really good point by a member of our team as we were kind of talking about this, is that, you know, a lot of times in life, you look at your situation, and I'm talking to you, and you kind of look at your peers and what do they get and what do I get? Well, it's interesting with Russell Wilson. So he looks around his division and Arizona has a 42-year-old offensive head coach and San Francisco has a 41-year-old offensive coach. And the L.A. Rams have a 35-year-old offensive coach. And he's got a 70-year-old defensive coach.

It's something. Twice the age of Jean Mavet. Something. and especially when you think up to the previous offensive coordinator that you guys have been kind of like stuck in quickstand offensively and running an outdated offense. You start connecting things in your head. My coach is old. He's defense.

Our offense is outdated. I'm just saying this is the kind of stuff. You know, we all think it's all focused. But you have seven, eight hours a day you're on your phone. You're sitting out there looking at your peers and looking at your opportunities. I keep your eye on the Saints because they're doing a lot of babysitting with James Winston. I think Sean's looking at Russell Wilson
