We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
Starting point is 00:00:30 you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the ice. Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Hey, it's Edwin Castro, also known as Castro 1021. And I'm Kunky, his best friend and business manager. And we've got a new show called The 1021 Podcast. Starting point is 00:01:37 If you're watching the latest season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, you already know there's a lot to break down. Gorsha accusing Kelly of sleeping with a merry man. They holding Kay Michelle back from fighting Drew. Pinky has financial issues. Starting point is 00:02:16 I'm Joey Dardano, and on my new podcast, Hope from a Hypocrite, I'll be changing lives, helping people in need with thoughtful solutions. Sike, I'm a comedian. I'm not qualified to give good advice. Join me and my comedian friends as we riff rant and recommend some of the most Legally dubious advice known to me. This is Help from a Hypocrite, the worst advice from the dumbest people you know. Listen to Help from a Hypocrite Wednesdays on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, thanks for listening to the Covino & Rich podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:52 Be sure to catch us live every weekday from 5 to 7 Eastern, 2 to 4 Pacific on Fox Sports Radio. Find your local station for Covito Enrich at Fox Sports Radio.com or stream us live every day on the IHeartRadio app by searching F-SR. ADD radio at his finest. That's Rich's way of saying, I can't focus on anything. Passive spin on it. Yeah, that's Rich's spin on I can't focus at all. But we do it the best.
Starting point is 00:03:23 You say, no focus. I say, I'm the league leader in ADHD. All right, that's what makes us great. I got the Triple Crown. Out for greatness. Got the eye of the Vato, Steve Kavino on a taco Tuesday. That's Rich Davis, C&R on FSR. broadcasting live from the Tyraq.com studio.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Tyrax.com will help you get there. An unmatched selection, fast-free shipping, free road hazard protection. Over 10,000 recommended stores. Tyrax.com the way tire buying should be. Bring in the greatness on a Tuesday, CNN. And don't forget, after the show, Daniel Gradyo, Danny G. Yeah, let's rock the stats, man. He, uh, what are you, uh, Topanga?
Starting point is 00:04:02 Yeah, rock the stats and download our podcast. Let's do it. Get it for free. and Rich wherever you stream. And remember, overpromised our bonus pod. Have you seen Topanga from Boy Meets World? There was like drama on her podcast. And Kvino's right.
Starting point is 00:04:15 They said the phrase rock the stats like 50 times. We're trying to rock the stats. Lock the stats. Download the podcast, Danny G. Oh, man. I read about that little beef this morning. I was less of a Topanga guy. I was more of a Kelly Kapowski guy. I was more of a...
Starting point is 00:04:29 You would, Morris. I was more of a Samantha Maseli kind of guy. Angela, Mona, Jonathan. Samantha. I was more of Samantha. By the way, those girls, and in some guys that do podcasts now, what would they do with their lives right now if there was not a platform like podcasting? You know, some of them do well on podcast about the show they were once on. That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Yeah, no, I know that, I mean, the office probably makes a ton of money in residuals. Behind the scenes on a 30-year-old show. I think about all the great podcast we missed out on as a reason. result like Kirk Cameron's and Gary Coleman's like I would have loved the Webster's podcast That's a great point Covina what would have been the juiciest podcast in the 80s or 90s I would love to hear Philip Drummond's podcast. Oh, what I bet Arnold and Willis or Webster's podcast? Yeah, man, I would love that.
Starting point is 00:05:23 You know, what's a good one we missed? I bet you there would have been a good like saved by the bell podcast. Rerun and Raj had a podcast. That'd have been cool, man. Everyone's got a podcast. You know, in the Sopranos heyday, like a week. Recap. There's a Soprenos one now, like looking back
Starting point is 00:05:39 The kids, yeah, Jamie Lynn Sigler and the, whatever his name is, Robert Seiler. Yeah, they actually get a lot of props. They do great. They have a great chemistry together, for sure, yeah. So, podcasts are like opinions. Everybody has one and most of them stink. Do you think Archie Bunker's podcast would have been racist? Oh, absolutely. Definitely uncensored.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Yeah. So again, thank you guys for checking ours out. And it's available again, wherever you stream your podcast, Search Covino and Rich and Danny G puts a best of every day and there's a best of the week if you want to just check it out. So thank you guys again for being here. Lots of fun this hour. Shaq Diesel, Wack Diesel trivia
Starting point is 00:06:15 to get you all fired up for Lakers, Mavs tonight. Well, my analogy, stars. When it comes to Luca and the Lakers. Stars. Stars. In any relationship or job, when someone insinuates you have a deficiency and that's why they cut things off.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Like I said, dating, job, any situation, if you ever the opportunity to prove them wrong or thrown in their face, Luca right now was pretty much told, dude, you're a little soft and lazy and we don't think you've got the long-term ability to stay in shape, essentially. I mean, there's no question.
Starting point is 00:06:59 That's exactly what happened. That's why they got rid of them. would be like some girl who had a dirtbag boyfriend that was like, yeah, you're chubby. And then she comes back with a rock and bod and was like, look at me now on like Jenny Jones or something. Lucas is going to, what is the over under? Let me look this up because I feel like there's a bet to be had. It's like going from zero to hero on Ricky Lake. I bet you on Draft Kings, it's got to be 30 something, right?
Starting point is 00:07:25 You're going to see the most motivated Luca ever. Ascon, you said he had a Colin like analogy. He did say something along the lines of, you're going to see officially why this is the most awful trade ever. You're going to see how awful this trade actually was when he lights them up tonight. And we were talking about bringing your best and being great. He's going to remind everybody that he's one of the greats. And he's going to put on a show tonight.
Starting point is 00:07:51 Oh, damn. And believe you me, when we do things like Radio Row at Super Bowl, a lot of our former employers are there. You don't think that motivates Rich and I to be like, you, let's bring our best and show them what they're missing. It's always great motor. Failure is a great motivator. Her breakups are a great motivator.
Starting point is 00:08:08 How many times you get dumped by a girl? You're at the gym. In your mind, at the back of your mind, you're like, wait until they see me with the next hottie and my rocking bod. If you don't think that's what Luca is sort of feeling a little bit now. You're crazy. Of course he is. Like you just said,
Starting point is 00:08:23 every time, if you say, Rich, when have you been in the best shape? When have you been the most motivated? But probably after some girl told me I stunk. Yeah, when are you really trying to get that promotion or get ahead? When you got dumped and dissed because, you know, she left you for a guy with deeper pockets, that motivated you. So you're going to see that.
Starting point is 00:08:43 Luca's human and he's just going to want to show you. He's not pouting about it. He's going to show you tonight. Well, other people have my idea. So the over under is pretty steep. 31 and a half over under. Luca points tonight. What do you think? Yeah, we guess 30.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Because I mean, like, normally, I think he'll light it up. What I'm saying? What he dropped Saturday, 34? And by the way, everyone's going to be feeding him the ball so that he can light it up. You know, I just think that it's going to be his night for obvious reasons. Mav's big men are out. Like, they're just destined to be destroyed tonight. And their fans are going to be so sad about it.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Oh, man. Let me pull a couple things here. He dropped 32 on Saturday. So Luke is averaging 28. So it's not substantially more than his season average, but 28, 31 and a half. Could he drop 32? And the Lakers are favored by almost double digits. Lakers by nine.
Starting point is 00:09:39 It's the pettiest thought, but it's so true. Do you go Lakers win by double digits? Yes. Yeah, I think he's going to dominate them. And again, I think he's going to show them every reason why they should regret making that move. Like I said, it's a silly petty motivation. I admit it. He's like Julie Roberts and a pretty woman.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Yeah. But when you got dumped or if you've ever been dumped, there's a sense of satisfaction if you're able to make them feel in any way possible that they made a bad move and they regret it. And that's what he's going to do tonight. What's up, DB? Here's my question. Who truly has the motivation tonight?
Starting point is 00:10:22 Is it Luca against his former team or is it the Maverick's team as a whole that has been told that they are significantly worse without Luca Donchich and no Anthony Davis. Aha. And who knows more about Luca Donchich than the Dallas Mavericks? To quote, coming to America. It's a good one. I was shocked, though, for the Maverick's one.
Starting point is 00:10:44 You know what? Danny, Dan Byer makes a great point because we talked about this at the Super ball and we were trying to decide, who's got more motivation for the three Pete or for Jay Lynn Hertz to get there? And we made the argument that how can you judge, like, everyone's going to be motivated. If you don't think the Dallas Mavericks locker room is like, yeah, let's shut everyone up. Sure. And maybe their time comes when the game's in Dallas. But I also think like when that game plays, like I'm almost thinking that Luca would have the motivation when they go to Dallas just to have his homecoming and have the fans on his side.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Very interesting. And I think that the betting lines make it so interesting tonight. I just said under earlier today. So that's that was from where I came from. I think both sides of the coin can be seen here. but I think that Dallas will at least be motivated. They also got blown up by the Warriors on Sunday, so it hasn't been a great time for them that maybe tonight they, for some reason,
Starting point is 00:11:35 just ended up bringing it. Well, the truth is, we don't know until it happens, and that's the beauty of sports. That's why it makes it so exciting to watch and see. You know, for all we know, Dan Byer could be completely right. We come back tomorrow and like, yo, man, I can't believe that. Man, where was Luca last night? It would only surprise me because there was only one guy in that whole deal
Starting point is 00:11:55 that was called fat. Right? And, Covino, when this first happened, you said, oh, my God, if that happened to me, I'd be on the treadmill that night. Dude, I was let go by my previous job. Every time I crack the mic here, I want to remind them that they made a mistake. Every girl that broke up with me, every day I used that as motivation as, man, wait until I make my millions.
Starting point is 00:12:18 I can't wait to post a picture of myself on a yacht and hope they regret it. Ha ha ha. Yeah, like in the back of my... mind is petty motivation. He has that. He has that. So, and that's why you're seeing him so fired up. You're seeing a fired up, Luca. You're seeing the Lakers play great defense all of a sudden. You're seeing them win. They're playing good ball. And that brings us to something else, too, that we haven't had time for in the past few days, Rich. Before we do Shaq Diesel trivia, when Binyama made a statement about how, well, he was asked, like, who's the most underrated
Starting point is 00:12:49 player in the NBA? By the way, I got a plus 250 bet here. Can I just throw it at you? Sure. plus 250, bet 100 win 250. I got Luca 32 points or more. Lakers minus 8.5 in the game and Lakers win the first half. So Lakers win the first half. Lakers win the game by 8 and a half or more by 9. And Luca 32 plus. You like that one?
Starting point is 00:13:16 It makes it fun. Yeah, for sure. Let's lock in. I think he's enlightened up tonight. But again, what Dan Byers said could very well. well be a possibility. And that's what makes it fun to watch. So when Binyamo was asked who was the most underrated player in the NBA.
Starting point is 00:13:31 And if you missed it, here's what he said about it. Whose game is most underrated in the league? I'm going to go with LeBron. Underated just means you're not rated out to your right value, right? I think LeBron's underrated. And I had people scratching their heads. But when you think about what he's doing at this age, even though he's very rated and everybody,
Starting point is 00:13:51 I don't think there's a sports show in the nation. That doesn't bring his name out like once to show. Even though he's very rated, would you say that's a fair assessment from Wembe Niyama? Because he's saying, yo, man, I still see some greatness. And what a compliment coming from a young man at the top of his game. You could be very rated and still underrated. I don't think that's impossibly. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:15 I think there's NFL players. There's players in baseball, basketball, all sports where you're like, no, no, they're respected. But I'm telling you they're not respected even enough. The value he brings to a team, the leadership. You know, you got a factor to criticism that he gets because he gets a lot of it. I think what Wenyama said about LeBron speaks volumes. It's like, yo, here's a guy that's so rated. And we know that.
Starting point is 00:14:38 He's in a goat conversation 150 times a week still. But he's still underrated, in his opinion? That's amazing. When you look at your own team, I think everyone could draw one name where it's like, I watch this guy day in and day out. he's underrated. Everyone has that guy in their own team. I'm saying on a bigger scale, LeBron James,
Starting point is 00:14:59 because there's so many LeBron haters and people like to kick him down and put him down and he's not Michael Jordan. He's not the goat. He's not this. He's not even Kobe. He's not even magic or bird. I think LeBron James, I said to Kavino
Starting point is 00:15:13 in the hallway yesterday. LeBron James. Lebron James. Lebron James. By the way, that kid's like 40. That kid's 40 now. That's how long LeBron's been dominating. That kid?
Starting point is 00:15:25 LeBron James. He's married with children. LeBron James, if somehow... He's Ed O'Neill. If he wins the NBA title this year with Luca, that would mean two championships with the Lakers, two at the heat, and he took the Cleveland Cavaliers in the greatest season
Starting point is 00:15:47 where the Warriors were the best team in NBA history and lost after being up 3-1. That would be five NBA titles for LeBron. I think you would argue he's underrated. For what he's done for this long? I get what he's saying. I know it sounds crazy, but I totally get what he's saying. When we watch the Olympics last year,
Starting point is 00:16:09 what did every superstar in the NBA say? Y'all, I don't get to play with LeBron every day. No one practices harder. No one has the work ethic. No one brings to the table what LeBron James brings. and clearly has the respect of all the players in the league. No one has more respect from their peers than LeBron James. That speaks volumes, dude.
Starting point is 00:16:28 LeBron never. You know how they always have those like those silent surveys like, hey, most overrated player, most of this, most of that. LeBron James will never win most overrated. He is respected by his peers. Facts. And that was just an interesting story that, what was that last week or was it? Yeah, it was the end of last week, right?
Starting point is 00:16:47 We just didn't have time for it. But speaking of the Lakers tonight, I think we're going to. going to see why he said that. I think we're going to see a really great game tonight. I think we're going to see what the Lakers got. And, you know, there's so much hype that they could go all the way this year, man. And just like that. Just like that. They're playing great defense. Like, whoa, I'm going to win. You know one guy who's a little underrated right now because the, the Lakers are like 18 and four in this past stretch of the season. And so you've got to give a lot of credit to J.J. Reddick. We haven't talked about him at all. And remember that. I heard, I even heard Stephen A.
Starting point is 00:17:21 Smith, who was very critical of him. I might have been wrong. I might have been wrong. Before the season started, he may be coach of the year. I remember dudes on our own network laughing at that saying this is a joke. And look at where they're at the third, fourth seed. They're doing well. They got to keep this up going into the final stretch of the season here.
Starting point is 00:17:41 But Austin Reeves, what a tear. What a tear. That guy has been on. Taring it up. Yeah. And again, it's understated because who, well, you see what the number of season. putting up but I'll go back to the JJ Reddick thing just for one second though you're right the criticism that he got it is worthy of you got to take it back or apologize just LeBron's
Starting point is 00:18:01 podcast boy exactly that's insane and like you said Reeves just yeah the combination and we saw it in Denver and hopefully they could keep that formula going but the big three really have been LeBron Luca and and Austin Reeves so if those three can stay hot this team can go far Coach of the year, J.J. Reddick. So, man, they're firing on all cylinders, as the expression goes, at just the right time. And we're going to see it on the main stage, on a big stage tonight. Just some reason to enjoy some tacos, LeBron style on the Taco Tuesday. You know, it's the coolest part about Austin Reeves.
Starting point is 00:18:38 Austin Reeves. His cool headband? His corny, like, haircut? Well, these are all, I mean, you keep going. His unassuming nature? His wristbands? Austin Reeves, undrafted in 2021. When he broke on the scene, you remember those first couple games?
Starting point is 00:18:55 Danny, we were doing a show together early on. This was like the early days of Kavino and Richer on Fox Sports Radio when he started coming into his own. There was almost a sense of like, all right, is this, is this like for real? Is this like another Alex Caruso type of guy? Yeah, you know, a great white hope kind of guy you root for. Like is he could be like the guy off the bench and it's like, oh, wow, he's become a key component.
Starting point is 00:19:16 He's a, he's a star now. He's a good team. And defensively, too. He's like this. Anytime he gets on the floor, he's a spark plug for the team. And what makes him great, Rich, you already said it, is that he's unassuming. And I think that makes it more fun. That's why I loved Ganadi Golovkin, Triple G, because he looked like a nerd who would beat your ass in the ring.
Starting point is 00:19:37 You know, when someone's unassuming like that, it just makes us so much cooler. So major props to him. And we're going to see what the Lakers got tonight. Or are we going to see what the Mavs got? Can't wait. The one thing that we can't wait. Based on this conversation. we just had.
Starting point is 00:19:51 I gave LeBron all these props saying how great he is. If he scores 45 and that prevents me from winning my Luca over 30 point best, I'm going to hate LeBron tomorrow. All right, we got more, Kavito-N-Ritch. Coming up, we'll do our Shaq Diesel trivia. So if you want in the number, 87799 on Fox, we'll give away Kavino and Rich, stainless steel swiggy, some Fox Sports Radio prizes right here on FSR. Now, whether you're teeing off heading into the office or kicking back to watch the big game, Lakers Maths tonight.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Travis Matthew has you covered. Versatile apparel designed to make you look and feel your best wherever life takes you. Look at Danny G. What a, looking tripping swagger today. What a sweet Travis Matthew had. I love that one. So if you're ready to elevate your every day, it's all about Travis Matthew. I know it's a couple weeks ago now, but it was pretty cool to see all the Fox Sports Radio host
Starting point is 00:20:43 breaking out their new Travis Matthew gear on set. And I was like, yeah, where'd you get that jacket? They got sweet jackets. And I'm a jacket guy. I love those, like an over shirt. Like an overshirt jacket. Or that cloud waffle crew. I got that one.
Starting point is 00:20:56 Our boss man, Scott, got that one too. It just fits and feels so nice. Again, whether you're heading out or just chilling, it's not too baggy, not too tight, just a perfect shirt, a best-selling product from the famous cloud collection. Look it up. You'll enjoy it. They got quarter zips. If that's your style, if you like that sweatshirt with a little zip,
Starting point is 00:21:14 goes down to the chest. That's the look. That's the Rob Parker look. Rob Parker rocks the course. Who rocks a quarter zip harder than not? Does Rob Parker have a shirt that's not a quarter of a shirt? I know, man. Did I do that?
Starting point is 00:21:26 Whether you're lounged on the couch, enjoying your box seats or commuting to the office, Travis Matthew quarter zips. Rob Parker style. I love a quarter zip. Design with comfort style and movement in mind. Guys, elevate your everyday. Visit Travis Matthew.com for 20% off your first order. Hey, it's us to Jonas Brothers.
Starting point is 00:21:47 And guess what? We have some big news. news news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast. Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. And, well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before.
Starting point is 00:22:18 Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
Starting point is 00:22:35 But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, Not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
Starting point is 00:22:56 This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Starting point is 00:24:21 Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark. Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses.
Starting point is 00:24:40 Steve Burns, Dustin Ross. Because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth? Are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different. tensions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust.
Starting point is 00:24:51 I want you to just really be a good person. Join me, Keer Gaines, as we have real conversations about healing, growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new podcast, Learn the Hard Way. Open your free iHeartRadio app. Search Learn the Hardway and listen now. Jacob Kingston grew up in an isolated polygamous sect. We were God's chosen kingdom on earth. He felt destined for greatness.
Starting point is 00:25:16 So when a swaggering Armenian businessman catapults Jacob into an extraordinary world, he doesn't look back. Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, meeting the president of Turkey. I'm Michelle McPhee, and this is one of the most shocking criminal conspiracies I've ever come across. When Jacob met Levin this plant to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings from entirely different worlds, just how long can their empire survive? The largest tax investigation in American history. You need to tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me?
Starting point is 00:25:54 Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life. Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. That's what Luca's singing tonight, bro. How you like me now? And in fact, it's over, bro. Starting point is 00:26:59 He has a full on like black suit, black tie. He's ready for business tonight. The car is a midnight racer. Is that what it is? Yo, Dini G. Aside from the color, I think you'd like that car. Anyway, props. I just saw that video of him pulling up to the game.
Starting point is 00:27:14 Thank you, Brian Albertson for sending it. And as we watch a bunch of spring training baseball on the TVs around here, props to my dude Keith Hernandez on the S&M. while I call for the Mets. Why are you giving him props? He didn't give you props when we worked at S&Y. That is true. He acted like he didn't know us.
Starting point is 00:27:28 But he did give us, he did give me joy as a child. True, true. Great mustache. I can't take away from his stats. He rocked the stats and he rocks the stash. As you know, Keith, one of the more entertaining color commentators in the world of baseball. Always got a lot of old school type of opinions. No, I love it.
Starting point is 00:27:46 I love his takes. Keith is so great in the booth. They're doing a spring training game. and they cut away for some reason B-roll, you know, down in Florida. Starting point is 00:30:26 Your name is your buzzer, but you do have to wait until all three possible answers are read. If there's two wrong answers in a row, we move on to the next question. Are you ready? Let's go. Let's get this big Aristotle party started. Which NBA legend averaged a double-double for 10 straight seasons in the 80s? Say that again? A, Kevin McHale.

Starting point is 00:33:09 No, please. I thought it was Michael Thompson. Yes. Oh, right. Bahamas. Yes, Bayer with the win. Bahamas. Blazers took him.
Starting point is 00:33:17 1978. Of course, he made his name with the Lakers, Clay's dad. That's right. The Lakers, who are going to win tonight. But again, I don't know if they're going to go all the way. You know why, D.N.EG. Why is that? No big man.
Starting point is 00:33:29 Need a big man. Everybody needs a big man. Jackson Hayes has been looking okay lately. Everybody needs a big man. You're right, though. They probably could use one more big. I'll give me an analogy, Shaq. Does anyone really have a big great man?
Starting point is 00:33:40 Like in baseball, everyone's like, our team's rotation stinks. I'm like, does anyone have a great rotation in 2025? you know, so I think they can do it without the big man. Hey, Ken and San Francisco, we appreciate you playing the game. Hey, guys, thanks very much. Hey, thank you. All right, can I go home now? Later, San Francisco.

Starting point is 00:34:33 Yeah. His chicken franchise closed out by us, and I think they're completely separate. Oh, really? Yeah. He has so many. Yeah. He has his hands in a lot of adventures.
Starting point is 00:34:47 Is he owned like Papa John's pizza? Yeah. Yeah. Chacononi. Those are disappearing by us too. But it's good. I'll tell you that. That Tuscan cheese, oh, delicious.
Starting point is 00:34:58 Garlic breadsticks from Papa John's. Tuscan cheese. Love it. Very good. The Tuscan 6 cheese. It's delicious. Yeah, recommended. Highly recommended.

Starting point is 00:36:16 Guys, back to you. Thank you, Dan Bayer. All right, Kavino and Rich, Fox Sports Radio. Now, before we get out of here, there's still so much to get to. What do you want to, where do you want to go, pal? Besides to the moon. Which, by the way, earlier off here, Kavino goes, I want to go to in and out because when Shaq was talking double-double, I was thinking hamburgers.
Starting point is 00:36:39 He owned some five guys. By the way, five guys, they recently came out with a survey. Most expensive fast food burgers. five guys by far. Number one on the list. I love five guys burger, but you ever go there and it's like two people? It's like 40 bucks. It's worth it to splurge on that sometimes.
Starting point is 00:36:57 They think they're doing your favor by filling your bag with French fries. They're just making you more fat. That's the trick, yeah. All right. Well, hey, more. More. We got more. Kavino and Rich coming up.
Starting point is 00:37:07 We'll talk a little NBA and a story about O'Shea Jackson Jr. We've been putting off for a couple days. We'll get to that next right here. Fox Sports Radio. Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, name?
Starting point is 00:37:22 Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to a... We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts. We're starting a trend.
Starting point is 00:37:35 But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. And we were thinking I'm originally calling it. One of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers was... This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes.
Starting point is 00:37:56 I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, Hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Before we get to your O'Shea Jackson Jr. story, he celebrated a birthday yesterday, Ice Cube's Kid, actor, musician, good dude. We've interviewed him a few times, nice guy.
Starting point is 00:42:46 you know how like a year ago or so we had a conversation about everyone thinks their team's clothes or stinks unless you were mariano o'ervera in the 90s or Trevor Hoffman in his prime every fan base is like our closer stinks our bullpen's horrible that's just like a common sentiment right mm-hmm like in football everyone's always our defense unless you're the Ravens defense of the 2000s or the steel curtain in the 70s or you know everyone loves to complain about the same things. I think the version of that now is starting rotation.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Unless you're the Dodgers who have like eight pitchers, Yankees have a pretty decent starting rotation too, but there's injuries. Do you know? Yeah, Jean-Carlo Stanton's got to stop playing tennis. How much tennis does this guy play? What is tennis elbows? Yankees line up not looking that good.
Starting point is 00:43:36 They're pitching better be good. But like I have Metfan friends. They're like, Manias on the IEL already. Same with, you know, Frankie Montas. Listen, guys are banged up already. But don't you feel like that's the new? You know why? Because pitchers today are made a glass.
Starting point is 00:43:51 But do you agree, though? They're just going down all the time. So you could have some big names in your starting rotation, but health is wealth. But do you know what I'm saying, though? Like, remember back in the day you'd be able to say, I can name one ace from each team almost? And if you have like two or three guys, I feel like you look around baseball. And I don't know if it's because these guys go five. And the bullpen, there's more emphasis on that.
Starting point is 00:44:14 I look around baseball and I'm a pretty big baseball fan. In fact, I think ESPN blew it. I think that's the weakest story. Letting baseball go. I heard Colin talking about that. What a ball drop, literally. I mean, I don't know if you guys heard, but after the 2025 season, ESPN and baseball no longer have a partnership.
Starting point is 00:44:33 You're not going to be seeing baseball covered on ESPN. And a lot of us listening, we grew up watching baseball tonight and Sunday night baseball. And you're not going to see that anymore. It's ridiculous, especially when. baseball's on its come up the past few years, it's major ball dropped, like Aaron Judge in the World Series. The ball drop is judge level
Starting point is 00:44:52 because baseball's had a great two to three year pocket here, and I feel like there's a lot of buzz going into the season, but with the offseason last year especially, yeah, you got big stars on big teams. Now is when you would think a network would be leaning into baseball. Well, someone's going to benefit
Starting point is 00:45:08 greatly based on ESPN's failure. Hope is me and you. Do you agree, though, that there is a sense of, yeah, no one's really got that great a starters. Do you feel that? Aside from the Dodgers? I feel like the Yankees starting five,
Starting point is 00:45:26 believe it or not. Plus they got Stroming like lingering around somewhere. Yeah, I feel like the Yankees actually have a pretty decent starting five. Not bad. No one has it. So if you're looking at your team, you're like, who are four and five guys? Who are these guys? As they said in Major League,
Starting point is 00:45:44 who are these effing guys? I feel like, Like everyone feels that way because starting pitching is just not what it once was, where you can name all five starters. You are guaranteed they're all going to go 25 to 30 starts a year. That's just not baseball anymore. The Dodgers won the World Series with a few bullpen games in the playoffs. Baseball pitching is just set up differently now. So when you're looking at your team's roster and you're like,
Starting point is 00:46:06 I don't know how things are looking, don't be discouraged if your team's starting pitching doesn't look at it. Everybody's, for the most part, looking a little shaky, little sussex. respect. Quick search says MLB power rankings going into this new season for top rotations, Braves, Diamondbacks, Red Sox, Rangers, Tigers, pirates, Dodgers. Wow. Yankees aren't even in there. Red Sox. Right underneath. Yeah. Ranking moves. And they got all this Chapman in the bullpen. Yeah, you're right. They're right under the Dodgers here. Wow. So obviously we're excited about baseball. ESPN not so excited about baseball. Listen to the Yankees projected starting five.
Starting point is 00:46:44 and this is a team that's projected to a 90-something games, right? The Yankees are the American League. Remember, you have to preface each guy as bearded Garrett Cole. Okay, bearded. Rodon. But when I say, you know, this is a team that's projected to in 90-200 games, the Yankees are of the elite of the AL going into the season, correct? A.L. Defending Champions.
Starting point is 00:47:04 Lost in the World Series. Garrett Cole. I'm sorry. Garrett Cole. Bearded, well-groomed Garrett Cole. coming off an entry, but I think he's great. Max Fried from Santa Monica, California. Yeah, Scruffy.
Starting point is 00:47:19 Carlos Rodon. Yeah, and that guy... He said he's definitely growing the beard, so he's bringing some intimidation factor with him. And then after you get past Cole, Freed, and Rodon, I don't think the average baseball fan knows who Luis Gil or Clark Schmidt are. Luis Hill was an all-star last year. But Luis...
Starting point is 00:47:38 And rookie the ear. Right? To expect, you know, big numbers from that guy in the four hole in the four spot. They're the most highly touted, though. So he's king of the heel. So just a deep thought I had because, yeah, the deeper point here is if you're worried about your starting five, it feels like everybody is. Yeah, as a Mets fan, and I'm all pumped, you know, Soto and Lendor and Pete Alonzo and Nimmo and Viantos. The lineup stacked.
Starting point is 00:48:05 I'm like, all right, so we got Senga? Who else? Minaya's on the I.L. Peterson? Clay Holmes from the Yankees is now a starter on my team. What's going on here? Everyone feels that way at the end. And by the way, how do you feel about Clay Holmes as a starter crossed down on the Mets?
Starting point is 00:48:23 I mean, he wasn't doing it as a reliever. It's an interesting decision. All right. Let's get to this O'Shea Jackson Jr. story. Yeah, real quick, right quick. It's a two-part doozy because O'Shea Jackson turned 34 yesterday. We ran out of time yesterday. So happy birthday to him.
Starting point is 00:48:38 and The Rock His little French bulldog passed away So it's a relevant story on two parts Happy birthday O'Shea Jackson And our condolences to the Rock This is about being starstruck Take a listen This is Ice Cube's son
Starting point is 00:48:57 O'Shea Jackson Jr. On being starstruck I'm in sixth grade Word around the school spreads like wildfire Share your dad's here So I'm thinking What did I do? Picking me up from school is grandma business.
Starting point is 00:49:10 My dad's not doing this too. So I'm like, I'm f***. I can't think of what I did. So when I get outside, he's outside in the nice car. Now we got family vehicles, four doors, but he's here in the two door. So this is the nice car. Again, the car, he drives all the way to Venice.
Starting point is 00:49:26 Sit down at this restaurant. We're at a table that's bigger than it should be for two people. In walks my f*** hero, the rock. Jesus. And he just sits next to me and him and my dad have a meeting over a lunch and I am starstruck beyond belief. I can't get any words to come out of my mouth. As a kid, the memories I have from is I got a cheeseburger. He got a cheeseburger. I got a root beer. He got a Diet Coke. Thought that was weird. Wasn't really filling that. Wanted caffeine, but he
Starting point is 00:49:53 didn't want the sugar. My dad was like, dude, talk to him. Who's what do you want him to kick? And I'm just like, I can't talk. He signed my shirt, took a picture. He paid for his meal. Lady came back for the change. He didn't take the change. He just walked out. And I took his quarter and put in my pocket and I put it in a sandwich bag and I still have it. You still got the quarter. Damn right. Where's the quarter at? Give it to my mom's. She has it in her safe. The lucky quarter. Yeah, dude, dude, bro. How old were you? 12. Oh, so you're in the heat of loving wrestling. Dude, yeah. This is the biggest. I went to the Scorpion King premiere. That's a rock fan. That's a rock fan. Yeah. I went to see the mummy returns twice. He's in the movie for five minutes.
Starting point is 00:50:30 This was my dude, bro. So how cool is that? Like, those are the celebrity perks that you dream of. having lunch with his dad and the rock. But the point here is he was so starstruck, he couldn't think of anything to say to the dude, and he still has that quarter, which is great, because deep down inside, we're all a little 12-year-old kid
Starting point is 00:50:50 who remembers how we felt about our heroes. Seriously, you know, we all had heroes at 12 years old. That was his. When you, if you ever get the opportunity to meet someone that you would consider a hero, It really is It is an awkward moment
Starting point is 00:51:08 One story comes to mind for me The first Super Bowl that I ever went to cover Was in Jacksonville, Florida And I was in my 20s And across the room This is before Kavino and I were interviewing I guess athletes on the regular This is like when we were sort of new to the athlete world
Starting point is 00:51:28 This is our first coverage of the Super Bowl So this was big, yeah So they're like, yeah You're going to have the opportunity to interview some legends, I see across the room, Joe Montana. And to know me, I'm a diehard 49ers fan. And Joe Montana is the reason I wore 16 when I played sports. It's why my daughter wears 16 because she knows that's my favorite number.
Starting point is 00:51:51 Like, I play red 16, Danny, every time we go to Vegas, right? It's my thing. Montana's my guy. As O'Shea said, this is my guy. I was like, what am I going to say when I finally meet Joe Montana? would you believe the best I could come up with was Hey Joe I had your pajamas when I was a kid
Starting point is 00:52:09 I couldn't believe he said it And you know what he said to him Because I hope you don't still wear him Because Richard is a grown man He had a snappy comeback We've met him a couple times since But I remember always thinking back like I wasn't a kid I was 25 maybe
Starting point is 00:52:21 Yeah because he'll always be your hero So who was that for you And who would you be starstruck to meet For me that was Don Mattingly And I'll tell you a story on another day Let's just say I got caught right next to him in traffic one time, and I lost it. All right. Have a great night.
Starting point is 00:52:38 We'll see you tomorrow. Until then, Arriva there. See you in the Promise Land. Good back. Hey, guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin.
