Uh-oh, here we go. This place, it imploded on the set because J-Mack is outraged that the Cowboys, and I've seen a report, they're going to pay DAC 60 million a year. And now, now, you are incredulous, but there's eight teams every year, and there's no question that Kirk Cousins and Dak Prescott are B-plus

quarterbacks. They get to the playoffs. They can win a division. They're B-plus quarterbacks. They're both grown-ups. They're adults. I mean, they're great at the podium. Like, you can be very proud of having them. They're not Mahomes and Allen. They're not. So what? They're not Stafford. So what? Who is? So like four guys in the planet that are that good. 60 million for Dak. Your take was If Dak comes to the table, it says, I want $60 million a year. I'm the Cowboys.

I walk away. I say, Cooper Rush, you're our new started quarterback. And I'm fine with that, okay? Dak is not getting you over the hump in the playoffs. Regular season, you can win a lot of games. They're very good. He ain't overcoming in the playoffs the way Mahomes is. You pay Cooper Rush $18 million and go buy four good players.

You're the Brock Purdy model in San Francisco. Now, what throws a monkey wrench into this is that McCarthy, who does not have an extension, is like there's no way I'm keeping my job. You give me Cooper Rush, so that makes it difficult. But I'm telling you, I... You think there's no market for Dak? Well, no, sure. The Atlanta Falcons are some dumb team is going to pony up and say, yeah, 60 mil, come on down and pay them.

Well, they're not paying anybody else. Okay, go ahead. Good luck, Atlanta. Well, they just need to get to the playoffs. The Cowboys goal is bigger. You're not winning a Super Bowl paying Dak Prescott's 60 mil. You can guarantee that. There's an argument, the only quarterback in the league that could win a Super Bowl making.

that as Mahomes. And that's reasonable. So I'm not a fan of doing that, but I think there's a better solution than Cooper Rush. There's a middle ground, sure. His name is Gino Smith or one of those mediocre guys. I would go get Baker Mayfield and pay him 35. Yeah, if you can get Baker-Mayfield, plus two-star players, equal 60 million bucks, bring over Mike Evans with CD Lamb, get me a pat, well, get me a, get me another offensive piece. then we're talking. Brock Purdy. I'm not going to Cooper Rush.

I'm not going from a Mercedes to Hyundai. Hyundai, Hyundai, whatever. Listen, Brock Purdy, conference championship and Super Bowl, the last two years. That's how far he's gotten them. That organization has seven Hall of Famers on. Dallas has one of the best rosters in the league, Doug, don't they? No, no. How many pro bowlers do they have?

They're stacked. They have two great players in the whole roster. Micah C.D. Lamp. That is it. Wait. Diggs, who was an excellent? cornerback, a Gilmore was his top shelf player? His nickname is Toast.

Well, that was two years ago. DeMarcus Lawrence is really good. The offense of line has guys? The Marcus Lawrence is really good. Oh my goodness. Iyuk, star, Christian, Hall of Famer. The Niners are better, but you don't think the Cowboys have a top like six roster? Better head coach, better.

Cowboys, can we stop with his Cowboys have a great roster? They have two great players. Two. Niners have seven. Eight. Ravens have seven. Two. Mike is great.

CD's great. So how they won in 12 games in the last three years? How are they winning 12 games in the regular season? Three letters, NFC. Oh, come on. Jordan Love is destroying the NFC at the end of the year. Detroit wins their division going away. Better roster.

Lions are Cowboys? Lions, not close. Not even close. Lions not even close. Lions have an elite left tackle, an elite receiver, an elite tight end. An elite now safety. An elite edge rusher. A top 10 quarterback, an elite center, another good right tackle, an elite running back.

Detroit's roster is two cowboys absolutely start for them. Two. What? C.D. and Micah start. No question. Everything else we can argue about. They probably have a corner. You can take one of the corners as well. Detroit's kind of weak at corner. Everybody outside of Kansas City and the Jets is bad at corner. Whatever.

That's not even class. It's the easiest question of the day. Detroit or Dallas. Okay. Lions went toe to toe with San Francisco. Lead 24-7. Dallas was waving the white flag eight minutes in. Game over.

Wasn't even competitive. It's fair. Detroit physically dominated the Niners for two and a half quarters. Should have won the game if it wasn't for a goofy ricochet off a guy's helmet. Wait a minute. Give Brock Bernie some credit for the comeback. Come on. I know you don't want to.

If not for a weird ricochet, Detroit wins that game. and controlled them. San Francisco couldn't get the ball for a half. Just pushed them around the field. Shout out to Calhurt. He's used the word goofy twice in the first 65 men. Goofy's a great work. You thought you had me.

Detroit Dallas is like, you're not close. Detroit's got a top five, six roster in the league. You've got to rank the rosters tomorrow. Come on, off-season content. Sam Amick is having to put up with his nonsense. He's a legitimate writer for the athletic, senior NBA writer. I'm sorry. I'm exhausted, Sam.

It's an exhausting job putting up with this nonsense. Listen, man, as you know, Colin, I'm here in Northern California. If you want me to get some Niners-Fan neighbors to come away, and I can do that. I'm with J-Mack, get rock some love, man. Give Brock some love. So I want to talk about this because you just wrote about the Warriors. And one of the things we've talked about recently, Sam Wright for the Athletic, is that usually post-Jordan, bulls are awful for three years, post-Duncan, it's really hard.

LeBron leaves the heedles. There's always this reboot where you're bad, you get better draft picks, and you start over. The Warriors are in this interesting situation where the rookie pods can push Clay to the bench, where Clay's a great bench player. Cominga now is flourishing. Steph's still great. Draymond's playing some ball, and Wiggins has kind of figured it out. He was choppy early, pretty good.

And I look at the Warriors. So you recently wrote about this. This is hard. Legends to the bench, Steve Kerr, Clayton. Were they worried at all that it was just going to implode the locker room? Were they concerned? Yes, I think the answer is yes. Clay's an intense, intense individual.

I think there was frustration right out the gate when they made the choice. You know, strangely, I give a hat tip to Andre Igwadala. If you go back to 2014, which is a lifetime ago, Andre makes that choice to go to the six-man role. Steve Kerr convinced his hand. that sets the culture for the Warriors. Clay was part of that. And from then until now,

they have had a culture of sacrifice that Clay is now having to live up to. But yeah, I think they were worried because he's a proud dude. He fought like hell for two years to come back from the ACL, the Achilles. We've seen earlier this season, these moments of vulnerability

where he shares with the world how hard it is to not be the guy that you were before. And then you come out, I guess right before the All-Star break, they tell you, hey, what do you think about the six-man,

I think they were worried for sure. Yeah. You know, they don't match up terribly well with Denver, but nobody matched up with Duncan and the Spurs for about 12 years. I said this. I don't know if it's good for ratings. I don't really care about that. We don't have the NBA at Fox.

I don't care. I like watching playoff basketball. But when I watch Denver, in a league where we always talk about mobility and all-stars, they've had one all-star in Forever, Yokage. They're perfectly constructed between length, IQ, perimeter bench scoring. I'm okay saying this.

When I watch them dismantle people, when they really zone in, I think we're looking at for the next three to four years, the best basketball team arguably since the Spurs and Duncan. I mean, I think they're better than the Heedles. I really do, and I may be over my skis on this. How are they viewed with your sources in the league? How is Denver viewed? It's like somewhere, you know, it's right, they're not dominant.

That's the thing. They're respected. they are, you know, fear to an extent, but they're not dominant. If I'm being honest, last week, I'm in the Warriors locker room, and I had a casual conversation with Draymond about this. Now, listen, we know the way he's wired, and he made the point that Lee replied that they're not afraid of anybody, you know, and he has given nothing but love for Joker recently.

He has a lot of respect for him, but I brought up Boston and Porzingis, and he was kind of poo-pulling what they're doing. So the fear factor is not there, but Denver, I think they changed last year when they won that thing, in June. They are wired differently now. They are, you know, as dangerous as anybody. So could I see them when in the

whole thing again? I could. You know, Boston, to me, you know, is obviously at the top of that conversation, especially with their story and their journey of falling short two years ago. Porzingis, I think, is in the middle of that discussion. He's never been part of the game like this. But Denver,

I mean, Joker's absurd. Jamal Murray, like I wrote last week, might be the best guy in the history of the game who's never been an all-star. Their chemistry incredible. They lost some depth in the summer, as you know, and that remains a question. But yeah, they're right there. You know, it's really interesting. When Drew Holiday went to the Celtics, I remember being on that day and saying he's a much better offensive version than Marcus Smart, who I thought was a good player, but sort of had served his purpose. And I thought, but I had no idea.

And everybody loves Drew. He's one of the more respected guys in Lake. I had no idea that he was going to leave this hole in Milwaukee. I mean, because Dame's such a great person. perimeter score. Are you surprised? Are people in the league surprised that Drew, I mean, it's a lot of the same pieces, Dame for Drew, and Milwaukee doesn't feel and look quite right. Are you surprised by that? I'm not stunned. I mean, did I think Dame and Janus was going to work better than it has? Yes. But I feel like we have learned for so long now that, you know, the simplistic star power perspective in terms of, you know, take this guy and that guy, put him in a pot and it's magic.

is just more often than not, that's not how things go. And I was around the old Bucks teams a lot. And I saw the value that Drew brought every single night. And I was there covering the finals when they beat Phoenix. And Drew Holiday is right there with Janus as an MVP candidate in terms of big moments. You know, it was a very, very nuanced trade, the decision by Milwaukee to go after Dame Lither

because you let go of a guy in Drew who was part of what they accomplished it, was still playing at a high level. You know, we'll see where it goes. Doc, I think, has had a good influence so far. Coaching-wise their defense has gotten a little bit better. But, you know, that relationship, Janice and Dame and finding chemistry has been pretty challenging. So LeBron, Paul George won't play tonight. Lakers play tonight.

I think Nick's Warriors is tomorrow, so it's been a very good week. You know, I saw a story yesterday. Brian Winhorst said, LeBron's going to sign an extension. It's going to be, you know, 50, 60 million, whatever it is. And I said, you know, LeBron takes so much oxygen out of the room. There's only been four guys, in my opinion, since the 80s, who have been the face of the league, where they were the best player for several years,

and they leaned into it. And I think that is Magic, Michael, Shaq, and LeBron. I never felt Kobe for an extended period was best player in the league. He always felt a little MJ light, plus Shaq was so, so magnificently interesting, his size, his personality. He even shrunk Kobe a little. And I think to myself, LeBron still remains. the face of the league to a lot of people.

International players don't necessarily seek the spotlight. They don't lean into it. Do you think, what do you think LeBron and the Lakers? I don't think they're moving off him. But how viable is he on the market? I mean, what do you make of him and the Lakers? Would you think they'd sign him to a three-year deal, a four-year deal? What is his future in this league?

So I believe, and hopefully I think I'm accurate on this, he's actually capped out at a three-year deal because of the over 38. rule. So, you know, there's a limitation there in terms of how long the contract can be. Market-wise, you know, listen, I wrote last month about his flirtations in New York when he was sending all these passive-aggressive signs that he might be unhappy with the Lakers and wearing Nick's colored shoes and things like that. But then immediately you're reporting, okay, by the way, the Knicks had not spoken about him internally. He's not in their plans. You know, Dallas is a team that in the past has, you know, internally shown some interest in, and, you know, maybe going down

the LeBron road. But now, I think with Luca and Kyrie, that's a different calculus. It is a really unique situation because he's LeBron, like you said, face the league, maybe the greatest player ever. But the market, I don't think, would be all that robust. And I think that's why he looks at the Lakers and knows my family's here, the market, entertainment-wise, business-wise, is what I want. The Lakers need star power. They don't want to come off him. It's a little bit of a marriage of convenience that, like Brian, windhorst said, I do expect to continue most likely. Yeah. Hey, finally, we've been talking about this for the last, I would say, three or four days.

Wembe's got a little Sam Bowie, a little old-school George Gervin, the length. He's got this sort of delicate touch around the basket but can play with power. He's a combination of a lot of people. But again, these international players come over here, Sam, and they are all business. They want sleep, practice. It's the reality is when you travel, if I change. travel overseas. I'm not ad-libbing. I've got a schedule. I stick to it.

I do what I do. These kids come over. They are all basketball, all business, and I don't know. I knew he would be good. I think he's better offensively. I knew he would block shots. I think he's a little better offensively than I thought he would be. Chet Holmgren also with his

length is better offensively than I thought early. What are you hearing about Wemby around the league? You know, people are amazed. He's living up to the hype. yeah now personally i just i do struggle with the idea and maybe this is the inevitable kind of backside of all that hype is that i thought he'd be able to come in and have more of a lebron type impact on

winning you don't mean it and you see the guy coaching him on the sideline of course is is nothing but a winner uh... and i am surprised at how bad they have been collectively i know the rosters you know not the best but they they just have struggled all year long and i actually think the next five, six weeks are going to be interesting in the rookie of the year race.

You know, halfway through the year, I had Chet winning it. Now it feels like if you vote for Chet over Wemby, you're getting it wrong in terms of the narrative. Yeah. Because he has been that good individually. But my God, Chet is an incredibly important player on a team that might win the way. Yes. But Wemby's great. You know, his personality is fantastic in terms of media.

Such a bright guy, like you said, he talks about going to bed at 9.30 a night and putting his phone on. By the way, I should interject real quickly. I think Luca is one of the outliers in terms of international guys. I think Luca likes to get after a little bit. Yeah. It has fun. But yeah, I mean, he's been great. You know, and you talk about a ceiling.

This guy doesn't have one, and I can't wait to see what's next with him. Yeah, 20 points a game, 10 rebounds, which are good numbers, but it's interesting. Because defensively, he's just, he is, there's nothing like him. He's a total unicorn defensively. I mean, six, seven guys look short and, They look small, but offensively, it's weird. When I watch him, there are gaps in his game offensively. Like I see holes in gaps in it.

I don't see a ton defense. I thought he'd get pushed around a little bit, not necessarily happening. Isn't that amazing? Look at that, J-Mack. 21 and a 10, 19 years old in the NBA. And this, by the way, I'd argue, the NBA's never been, because of its global reach, has never been more talented. Those are insane.

What does he shoot? What's his field goal percentage right now? All right, Sam's looking at up. I'm trying to look at this here. Yeah. Well, here's the other thing for me, Colin, and hopefully I can get to it quickly, is that I'm trying to find the Spurs' defensive rating collectively. That's where you look at it.

And he's such a presence on that end, but they are currently coming in at a not-so-excellent, oh, man, 24th in the league and defensive. You know what I mean? So that is where I think the conversation is tricky. with him. And I think about the Joelle and Bede game where I know that's maybe not fair. Apples to oranges in terms of Biggs, but Joel put it on him that night when he scored 70 and was pushing him around like he was a third grader. So if you want to spin it positive, you talk about an

exciting conversation because he has been that good, but you can sit here and I think have some fair criticism of how it's gone. Yeah, I mean, he's only shooting like 46% from the field, which for his size and as many easy baskets as he gets, you would suspect, that would go up over time. You would suspect. Sure. Yeah. Good seeing you, Zoha, Sam. Thank you, Callum. Appreciate you. Be good. So how many, I've watched Wemby a half dozen times. I think when you watch him, you would know that he's young. His offensive game, you know, you can get him off his spot sometimes. He'll shoot a much higher percentage

over time. There's gaps in his offensive game, but he's still giving you 20 a night. That's a lot. Now, now, the league, the scoring is up. Like, guys are scoring 30 a lot in this league. Just to be clear, the scoring is up not because people don't play defense. It's because the players are so damn skilled. That's right. You can't stay in front of anybody.

Well, no, no, no. There's two things happening. And we've been on this, I think. Yeah. There's no hand check. So these people, it just cracks me up. The old NBA, the Knicks Pacers played in the legendary series. One guy could shoot in the whole series.

Go try to watch those games on YouTube. Unwatchable. Nobody can shoot. Nobody, yeah. So you got two things are happening. So seven footers can now handle the ball and shoot. So Biggs can't camp under the basket. Biggs have to go out to the perimeter to guard other bigs.

And there's no hand check. So you can't stay in front of anybody. Jordan got to direct people around. Gary Payton can direct people. Can't do it. So now, and it used to be that you'd drive to the basket, and there was a forest of Biggs. Yokic is now playing out 28 feet from the hoop.

So he pulls his big out. And you have to guard him because he'll make those three. Of course. That's the space. And like, I know people don't want to understand this. Chad Holmgren can hit a three. The league right now is better than it's ever been by a mile. It's not even close.

Baseball, hockey, and basketball, because unlike the NFL, they are international sports. The quality of baseball and basketball talent right now is easily, easily the best I've ever seen. It's, I mean, basketball right now. Now, seven-foot guys come down the floor and can handle the ball. It used to be they all were back to the basket. I mean, there was a time not that long ago when Tristan Thompson was viable. And I have always used him as an example. And then two years later, you looked up and you could not have Tristan Thompson on the floor.

He's unplayable, yeah. Charles Oakley could not, look, what's he doing in the current NBA? Charles Oakley can't play in the league today. And I was a big fan. I mean, I love Anthony Mason. Dwight Howard was literally a back-to-the-basket. rebounding Maven. And like two years later,

he was done. He was like a backup. A backup. So it's not about the old days, when you could keep people on the perimeter with a hand check, like Michael was a great defender. You know what, Michael Jordan today? He wouldn't be able to stay in front of any.

John Morant would have Michael Jordan in circles. You can't touch anybody. Anthony Edwards would be torching him. And that's not disrespectful to Julian. But it's like. whatever he wanted with Mike. Michael couldn't stay in front of stuff. You can't put your hands on anybody. Can't touch anybody. It's so weird, Colin.

We, like airplanes, the advancements in airplanes have been incredible over the last 20, 30 years. How about medical advances? Basically, anything across the board, except the NBA was better in the 80s. Everything else on the planet is pretty much better, but not basketball. It is not approved. According to Jordan's sick of fans.

I can't. Yeah, I don't have time for it. We just don't have time for. I have time for Cooper Rush versus Dak. That Cooper Rush is not the answer. Cooper Rush is winning 10 games of Dallas. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the Herdline News. Okay, let's go to the Super Bowl champion, Kansas City Chiefs. What happened? They are going to franchise tag, Legerius Sneed, according to Jordan Schultz. 19.8 mil is the tag for Sneed. That means, I guess they got to work out a deal with Chris Jones long-term.

I did see, you know, there's a lot of chatter at the combine. Yes. Sounds like Chris Jones is going to get north of whatever Aaron Donald's got. Well, Chris Jones is the guy. if you gave me a choice, I would take Chris Jones. There's no other duplicate in the league. The Chiefs have done a very good job to find really good corners for several years. So, I mean, you can find, there's, now, Kansas City's hit a couple of home runs at corner.

There's no Chris Jones on the market. So I talked to Les Need once we were talking about this stuff. And, you know, he made a point of you really have to in the NFL. You probably should spend a lot of money on offense. That's where the league is. but you're going to have to pay for a Max Crosby, an Aaron Donald, a Chris Jones. Those guys end up making significant plays in Super Bowls, and that's the difference between winning and losing.

I would rather put all my money on offense. One exception is a great pass rush. So Sneed, by the way, had an unbelievable postseason. He was excellent. A bad Super Bowl, but a good year. According to Jordan Schultz, Sneed is agreeable to the franchise tag, giving him a chance to talk with other teams while leaving the Chiefs in play. I think he has a market.

I do think he's got, you know, he's a physical corner. He didn't have a great Super Bowl. And the other thing with the Chiefs is, they have McDuffie, who's a top three or four corner, arguably young corner in the league. So do you want to pay, you're going to have to pay him in two years. So do you want to pay two corners? For people that aren't thrilled with the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, it's kind of disappointed that they're going to bring back Sneed and Jones,

and Kelsey, and Mahomes, to people who are like, let's see another team win the Super Bowl. Those are sad people. Everybody outside of Kansas City. I don't have a problem with Kansas City Wing again. Do you have a problem with it? I don't have a problem. I mean, I like the Taylor Swift angle, but I want to see some new blood in there.

It's called the playoffs. There'll be all sorts of new blood. We'll have at least four to five new playoff teams, minimum. And let's be clear. I don't dislike the Chiefs, but I don't think, like, if they lost in the first round of the playoffs, like that would be like a significant dent to the NFL. No, I mean, I think if I would love to see Buffalo win in Thailand, Baltimore. Buffalo, Baltimore, maybe the Jets.

I root for excellence. I rooted for the Warriors dynasty. I rooted for the Healds. I'm rooting for the Dodgers this year. Chargers? Well, they haven't been excellent. I'm not one of these anti- Now, not all dynasties. I don't have any envy on that. If you give me great basketball, the Warriors, I root it for MJ's Bulls.

I love the Yankees. When I lived out east and the Yankees were great, I loved those teams. Admit it, the Patriots dynasty got a little boring. Well, it's 20 years, yes. I get, I mean, like, I think Alabama football. I got tired of it. A little fatigue. San Antonio, like, not all dynasties.

HECK. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. Like, I mean, not all dynasties are riveting. I don't think Denver's going to be riveting. I love watching Denver play. It's very old school. There's a lot of old school elements I love and some new school. But the Warriors dynasty, I never once rooted against it.

That was the best show in sports. It was fantastic. It was fantastic. All right, next up. Ooh, Eagles, a team you currently do not have in the play. Well, why do you say that laughing? Well, I mean, listen, I mean, they went to the Super Bowl two years ago. They started 10 and 1, but then cratered losing five of six, bounced early in the playoffs.

Jalen Hertz got a lot of criticism after the offense struggle, but Nick Siriani is confident in a rebound. Jalen sees something that he feels as a weakness of his or we feel like as a weakness of his. He's going to dive everything that he has and pour everything that he has into it to get better from that. Like, that's leadership. Like, that's a form of leadership. And so, again, I know that, you know, obviously I'll keep some of the things that we've all talked about, you know, what I need to get better at, what he needs to get better at, you know, to ourselves. But I know this, that he'll put everything that he has into getting better as a football player,

being better as a quarterback so we can win more games as a team. Third place, Cowboys, commanders, Eagles, Giants. Yeah, I don't know, kind of a disappointing season. Start 10 at 1. Now, we knew there was a lot of smoking mirrors right there were winning close games. They were, yeah. I still bought into them until the end. I bought into them. They're getting old in the trenches. Very, very old in the trenches. There's a lot of A.J. Brown chatter. He's trying to knock it down.

They got smoked by Tampa. I mean, destroyed. That was an embarrassing loss. Is this a great head coaching job once Siriani gets fired? Oh, I think Philadelphia is a great place to coach. People care. It's got a history of winning. Yeah, I would coach in Philadelphia in one set. second. There's about a... I want to work for... When I came to Fox Sports, I want people that have as much invested as I do. They love sports, I love sports. Yeah, runoff a coach two years after they get to the Super Bowl.

Well, so what? That's called pressure. That's a privilege. It's a privilege to work for a place with high standards. That's not pressure. Oh, really? You know, the same Philadelphia that ran off Andy Reed, right? Yeah, and that was dominating in Kansas City. Let's slow down. He was there 14 years. It wasn't a carousel. It's not making Carolina. You've got to let things bake for a little bit. I mean, Siriani on the hot. years is baking. I think Andy would tell you. I think Andy Reid would tell you

we were getting on each other's nerves a little bit. It was time to restart. Nobody lost there. Philly won Super Bowl. Andy's doing great. You don't last for, like Eric Spolstra for Miami and Steve Kerr Golden State. That's the outlier, Popovitz. That whole league is flying through coaches.

I never, this whole thing about pressure. Do you know how lucky you are in life if you work in a place and you have a job with a lot of pressure. That means it's an important job. People are counting on you. The standards are high. I'll take pressure every day of the week. Now, I may

not want it for 30 straight years, but I'll take pressure. You know what, there's no pressure? Win immediately in anywhere in the NFC South. Well, Tepper may fire you, but I mean, at that division,

there's not as much urgency. There is urgency in Baltimore, Pittsburgh. I like that. I like I'm a fan of pressure. I make love to pressure. Well, I didn't need to hear that. Final story, let's go to the Patriots. Gerard Mayo in the Patriot Way.

Is it dead? At the Combine this week, New England's scouting director, Elliot Wolfe, subtly took a shot at Bill Belichick when speaking about a new era in Foxborough. He said that the Patriots' new culture, Wolf said there will be less of a hard-ass vibe. Yeah. Yeah.

He's right. What's wrong with a hard-ass vibe? Well, I think you can still coach hard, but there is a time. Things change. It's an offensive league. There's certain places you can't hit people. It's just changing. Players have more power.

And by the way, you know, SEC football coaches like de-base and scream at players. They don't even do that as much in the Big Ten or the West Coast. Like, there are different cultures, I understand. New England's culture was very coach-driven, very sacrifice for the team. My problems, though, has been Bill won't sacrifice. Bill's like, I want to coach certain players. Bro, that's not sacrificing. Sometimes you get a knucklehead.

Get a goofball, but he's talented. You can't just coach who you want. Popovich has fallen into that. I don't want Kauai. Well, he's the best player in your team. You want a title with him. Keep Kauai. Instead of sending him Toronto where he wins a title,

and you've never really replaced him yet. I mean, Wemby's good, but let's win some games. So I think it's okay. Like things change. Language changes. Actions change. I think Bill, I think that form of sort of grumpy, just lighten up. It's okay.

Lighten up a little. For the record, Tom Coughlin, every New Yorker knows this. Tom Coughlin was like, face was the color of a plumb. He'd just get out red. And the Mara family came to him to Tom. Chill out. Get a therapist. And Coughlin, to his credit, really looked in the mirror, very introspective.

And Tom changed. I mean, when Tom first got there, it was over the top. And the Mara family is like, we have players coming to us complaining. Like star players. Chill out. Coughlin did, and they started winning. Those players must have been soft. They couldn't handle the heart.

Saturday at 430 Eastern on Fox. So the Chiefs, Brett Veach, real smart guy, the GM says they're going to resign Chris Jones. It's a priority. You know, the salary cap was created to instill parity, right? That you'd be good, you have a roster, you win a bunch of games, you go to the playoffs, and then guys get expensive and you have to move off them. But the NFL is growing in terms of revenue and ratings so fast that they announced last week, yeah, all you teams,

here's an extra $30 million of cap space. And it's going to allow the Rams and the Ravens and the Bills and the bills and the Niners and the Lions and the Chiefs, Miami, to keep their best players. Now, there are teams that have more cap space, Titans, Bears, Patriots, commanders, but they're going to have to overpay to get players there. Everybody overpays on free agency.

The time you can get a discount is sometimes resigning your own players who want to remain in a winning culture. It matters. Guys don't want to go and play for Christ. crappy teams. So the teams that have the most cap space will end up burning a lot of it overpaying for good players, paying them great salaries. But I've said this before. When you have kids, the days are long, especially when they're young, but the years fly by. You look up and they're like 22. It's like, what happened? In the NFL, week to week, there are surprises. Big picture,

Week 1 to week 20? Not really. Kansas City. AFC Championship Super Bowl again. Five years. San Francisco. Four NFC championships. They'll probably both be back.

Because San Francisco now can keep George Kittle. Can keep both linebackers. Kansas City can keep Sneed and Chris Jones. And now, I don't have a problem with this, but I'll tell you right now, this league is about quarter. quarterbacks and coaches, I'll tell you right now, Sincy, Kansas City, Buffalo, Baltimore,

Chargers, those five teams, very strong likelihood because of the coach and the quarterback, they're making the playoffs in the AFC. And I think there's a very strong likelihood in the NFC. Sorry if this bothers you, but San Francisco, the Rams, Detroit, and Green Bay, I think Jordan loves for real those four. So nine teams I feel strongly about of the 14 that would get in.

Now, you could have surprises. I think the Colts, the commanders, Arizona, year could be very, very interesting. But the sport is growing so fast and the revenue is exploding between sports gambling, TV revenue, new contracts that it allows the well-run teams to keep their stars. That's huge for Kansas City. There is no Chris Jones on the market. You'd have to pay about Chris Jones' salary and get 70% of the player.

Now you can keep Chris Jones. So in terms of cap space, the first four or five teams aren't very good. But then you start getting into, you know, the Bengals have 48 million now. And the Rams are way up to. Now you start getting in the good teams. The Lions have 56 million. That means they can keep a couple of their veterans. So, you know, the rich are going to get richer.

The strong are going to get stronger. I don't have a problem with it. Listen, sports, ebb and flow. Like boxing has died, horse racing. It doesn't have the impact it used to. do. I think college basketball is in big, big trouble. Transfer portal, one and done. You can't name players. The NFL's never been stronger. I think basketball and baseball, they're very international. I think that doesn't necessarily equate to great ratings, but I think the quality

of the games are great. But in the NFL, and it's not necessarily a bad thing, never had more good quarterbacks, and you're going to have the same seven to eight really good teams, big brands all be good again. I'm okay with it. They earn that spot. They're They're very well run. They're smartly owned overwhelmingly. But I don't think, I think the NFL on a macro level is fairly easy to predict. Pick the best quarterback if they have a competent coach. I think week to week there's all sorts of surprises.

But I don't think there's a ton of surprises over, I mean, I can name like eight, nine teams today. I feel, I can go look at their schedule, don't know when they play the teams, know who they play. Feel very strongly about them. Like Dallas is going to make the playoffs again. You may not like it, but Dallas is going to make the playoffs. again. Baltimore is. The Rams are, San Francisco is, Detroit is. I think Green Bay's, these young players are getting good really fast. We do need to pump the brakes. Remember, Rams go to the Super Bowl following year.

The health didn't hold up. Now the Rams have 40 million a cap space. They're not paying any of these young players and they have 11 draft picks. I'm sorry, my point was that like just because you make a deep run or you go to the Super Bowl, it doesn't, nothing is guaranteed the next year in the end of the turnover in that week. If you have a great coach and quarterback, it kind of is guaranteed. Got a bit of a head start. Buffalo is going to be, how many years in a row? Buffalo won their division. They're going to win it again next year.

Well, they needed a comeback there to take down Miami at the end and win the division. Like it was close. I would not be shocked if Miami won the division next year. You're, I mean. Four straight years with Josh Allen. Let me just say five of the next six with Josh Allen. You know how old that team's getting? Have you looked at the defense? They're going to have so much turnover on that team. They've also hit on last couple of years on some draft picks so they can move on. This is a glass half full Collins gone from Tuesday to Wednesday.

Now, you love everyone. I heard you slip in there. Arizona could be dangerous. Arizona's going to be garbage next year, okay? Let's settle down. Oh, okay. All right. Garbage.

Maybe that was a bit strong. Six wins, seven wins, whatever. You may want to take that garbage out. And the other thing we argued about, it is funny. I don't want to pay Dax 60 million. Reportedly, that's what he's going to get. $60 million a year. I don't want to pay him that.

But every year, what you're going to pay him that. you don't want in the NFL is chaos. And then the GMs fired, the coach fired, new staff. There's no chaos with Dak. You're disappointed with he and Kirk Cousins how it ends. There's no chaos with cousins. I don't want chaos. If I don't have

my homes, I'll take Dak and Kirk cousins and I'll have to overpay for him. I don't love it. But what's the what are you? Atlanta? Carolina? Is that what you want to be? Well, I don't know. I mean... You're telling me you're going to pull up to the negotiating table off an embassion.

Home Loss that you, yesterday, you blame Dack. No, he's the big reason they lost. No, no, no, no. He is a primary reason because of his salary. He's a B-plus quarterback making A-plus money. I would go to Dac, and I'd say, Dac, do you want to win more? Brady took a pay cut. Breeze took a pay cut.
