obviously that's a dad joke that everybody uses oh yeah yeah I'm sure she's laughing He's heartily right now. Okay, so the World Series starts tomorrow. It's going to be a bonus. We got very lucky. The Yankees felt like the best team in the American League. They've got, you know, a stable of really good starting pitching. And so if it comes down to a pitching series, Yankees have an advantage.

Dodgers have to really get that bullpen to hum. It did against the Padres. It did against the Mets. But the Yankees are a different animal. So we thought I always do this for a World Series, a national championship, you know, an NFC, championship, NBA finals, I put down, I tend to like who has the most good players because I don't think, you know, I think your stars carry you to championships. So in order of who I think right now are the 10 best players in the World Series, here we go with number 10. Tommy Edmund for

the Dodgers, first of all, versatile, experienced, NLCS MVP, leads the Dodgers in hits and stolen bases this postseason. I mean, he's been clutch. He's versatile. He's versatile. He can run, you get extra bases, he's got power, and the guy is playing a different position than he was several months ago. He has been a total spark plug for this team, the NLCSMBP, Tommy Edmonds at 10. Number nine, a guy that when the Yankees and Dodgers played at Yankee Stadium earlier this year, kind of dominated the weekend. Teoscar Hernandez, a two-time all-star, one of the best under-the-radar signings in Major League Baseball this year. Now, he's struggled in the NLCS. That's why I'm going to put him lower.

He can be a bit hot and cold, power-hitting guys can, but he's in a great spot in the batting order behind O'Tonnie and Bet, so he gets good pitches to hit, right? And the guy got real power. Go back to that Yankee series in New York. He can take games over. Number eight, I would do third baseman Max Muncie, a two-time All-Star.

Best way to say it is, he's led this entire franchise and on-base percentage in the playoffs. That's pretty good when you got a roster like the Dodgers. At one point, he reached base in 12 consecutive plate appearances. People don't do that in Williamsport. That's like not even a realistic little league stat. Muncie's one of those guys everybody forgets about, but when he gets smoking, again, he can carry you through big late-inning surges,

Max Muncie. Number seven, John Carlos Stanton, five-time All-Star. Now, he led the Yankees seven-extra base hit. this postseason, but he's also a power guy. So, you know, power guys, like I tell Oscar Hernandez sometimes can disappear. He has 16 home runs, though, in 36 playoff games. So they got him for a reason. Playoffs, delivering bombs, I put him in number seven.

Number six, and this guy may be the key to the series, is Garrett Cole. Always been a good postseason pitcher. In this postseason, three starts, 3.31 ERA. Now, guys don't throw complete games anymore. so I don't have a lot of starting pitching in my top 10. It's not like 10 years ago, where you could say, oh, yeah, Burlander is going to go two full games. That's not what you're going to get here.

But he's a six-time All-Star, a Cy Young winner a year ago. And again, he could pitch in game one, game, you know, what if you have a rain in New York, maybe game four, a couple of innings in game seven. He could decide the series, Garrett Cole. Number five, he's got an extra time off, Freddie Freeman, an eight-time All-Star, got him from Atlanta. He's absolutely delivered.

A great guy, locker room guy. Now, he missed some time in the NLCS, but you get big time power. And a guy that just always feels like, to me, can burst the game open. Now, again, hitting singles. He's not going to leg stuff out. You're not getting a triple out of a double and a double out of a single with him. He's limping, but he has had extra rest. And I put him, I'd be surprised if he didn't have a good world series.

Freddie Freeman at 5. Juan Soto at number four. Now, again, if this guy was MVP of the series, you wouldn't be shocked. He may become the richest player in baseball here in a few months. What's great about him is he walks a ton, he gets on base, he doesn't strike out, he hits for power. I mean, if it wasn't for guys that are above him on this list, you know, there's arguments that he's one of the great players in the last 10 years in terms of pure talent. If he's the MVP of this series, nobody in the world will be surprised.

hit 368 during the ALCS, just an all-time great talent. Number three, in a bit of a slump, Aaron Judge. Now, again, he is a power hitter, and I'm always a little worried about power hitters in the postseason. To Oscar Hernandez, if he told me he had a bad series, I wouldn't be surprised. If Aaron Judge struggled, I wouldn't be shocked. He was only 5 for 31 with 13 strikeouts in the postseason. So again, and the Dodgers know this. Like, he can be hot and cold, but he did, you know, he.

He did lead baseball and home runs and RBIs and slugging percentage. Also a great guy. Number two, I think he's one of the most versatile. He reminds me to Joe Morgan as a kid growing up. What doesn't he do well? Morgan could run, field, power, average, Mookie Betts. Over the last nine games, he's hitting 3.42. He played shortstop.

He plays outfield. He leads the Dodgers with eight extra base hits. Here's a guy, Freddie Freeman won't. But if you need a single, turn to a double, a double to a triple, it's Mookie Betts. You get speed. I don't even know how he generates all this power for his size. You get massive versatility. He has played outfield, second base shortstop.

I still can't believe the Red Sox let him go. They've never been the same franchise. If it's not for Otani, he's the best player, most versatile player in baseball. Mookie Betts. Again, how does he generate all that power? He does. He's amazing. And number one, Shohei Otani.

18 for his last 23 with men in scoring position. Again, that's... the college world series, that would be insane. He's batting 783 with 28 RBI. He leads all players this postseason, 12 runs scored, reached base 16 times in the NLCS. There's my 10. So you got one, two, three. I got six Dodgers, four Yankees.

Anything bother you? I don't know. I think that looks like one of your better lists. Pretty solid. I mean, I would maybe quibble with Betts versus Judge. You could argue Judge should be second. I think the versatility of bets in a postseason, the versatility I get with Betts, I think it's power hit. Like if Aaron Judge hit six home runs, you would not be surprised.

But if he had 13 strikeouts, you would not be surprised. With Milky Betts, I'm going to get average power speed versatility that are. I'm going to get a lot more guarantees with bets than I am judge in this series. And we don't have a ton of pitchers, just one guy on the list? I think that's great for the casual fans. We're not going to see like two one games. We're not going like seven, five. Starting pitchers are going six innings.

I'm not getting Justin Verlander who gives me two complete games. That's not what you're getting anymore. So it's hard for me to put pitchers up there. Greg Tooie, our baseball savant in the back is probably grumbling. I don't have any Astros on my top ten. Oh, that's a shot. Wow. Where are they, by the way?

Where they go? Anybody's seen Houston lately? Let's bring in Greg Kosell, 45 years NFL films. Here we go. This is an old-school world series. Old-school world series. So let's start with Kansas City. They face the Raiders, and they just came out of the big game of the weekend.

So we all know this now. Spags is great. Brett Veach has drafted. I mean, I don't know where he finds all these guys, but they just have an endless supply of corners and safeties and linebackers that run. What did they do, though, Greg? What did the film say they did to make Brock Purdy so ineffective?

Well, I think it's what they kind of do, Colin, to everybody, and you don't see it a ton in the league. They play a ton of press coverage. So now the burden is on your receivers. They have to be able to win and separate versus man coverage. The other thing they do, which is different, and they do it perhaps better. than any team in the leave, maybe with the exception of Todd Bowles and the Bucks, is use defensive backs as blitzers.

And when you line up a lot in reduced splits, in other words, when you have your receivers closer to the formation, which the Niners do, there are a number of teams in the league that do this, those corners are in much closer proximity to the quarterback, and therefore they become much more effective as blitzers. And they also have safeties who are very, very good blitzers. Justin Reed is a very good blitzer. Shemari Connor, number 27, who's become a real factor this year, is a really good blitzer. So the combination of playing a ton of press man, which Steve Spagnolo really believes in in today's NFL,

with the increase in these quick timing throws, so many passing games now are three-step timing drops, quick five-step timing. It's very, very difficult to get to the quarterback and impact him on normal down-and-distance plays. So what do you have to do? You've got to disrupt receivers. And that's what Steve Spagnola does extremely well, and it's very difficult for teams. So the Niners struggled with it a bit in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs, and they struggled with it in this past weekend. Okay, so very rarely do I look at something and just go, wow. So I didn't think, I mean, Justin Fields was winning enough.

He was athletic, relatable, he's young. nobody in Pittsburgh liked the move to Russell Wilson. And after the first couple series, all of us who were cynics looked really smart. And then something clicked. And Russell in the second half moved. He was good in the red zone. He did those little fades to a tight end, a receiver.

And it's like, boy, with this defense, Tomlin, Najee Harris, Arthur Smith, it's like, oh, that's a pretty good team. What did you see, especially in that second half, with Russell Wilson and the Steelers. Colin, it's the Seahawks profile. It's the same thing he did in Seattle for all those years. It's run-game profile, run-game foundation as the starting point.

It's play-action and play-action boot. It's schemed throws so that the reeds are clean and defined, and then it's taking shots down the field. He's a great deep-ball thrower. So Pickens will become probably more of a factor in terms of targets, volume because they'll take those shots, which he's very, very good at, and he's very good at those fade kinds of throws. So it's basically going to be the same profile and the same formula we saw when he was

in Seattle because that's who he is. He's not necessarily a drop-back progression reader. So that's not the way you play with Russell Wilson. They had a number of really cool concepts of play-action boot where they clearly attacked voids in zones, and they did a really, really good job with it. a play to Darnell Washington. There was a play to Frymoot through 30 yards. Just really well-schemed plays. But they're going to look very much like the Seattle Seahawks when Wilson was there. Yeah. Well, that's not a bad thing. So, listen, we all kind of thought that Amari Cooper and Buffalo,

and by the way, the bills go to Seattle to face the Seahawks in one of the more intriguing games this weekend. But we all kind of thought, you know, Amari was a good fit. But what is also really crystal clear, Josh Allen's not throwing picks. And again, Amari Cooper is a good route runner, and, you know, quarterbacks like dependability with their route runners. They don't want to throw in guess. So my take is Josh Allen and Amari Cooper, the films should say eventually this is a nice fit as they head to Seattle.

Yeah, and I think one of the things that stood out this week, and in some ways I've been waiting to see this. When I watch passing games, particularly against zone coverage, one of the things I really look for, the lions are great at this with Ben Johnson, is spacing of routes, because you're trying to find voids in zone coverage, and you're trying to put zone coverage secondary players in conflict

because they have multiple areas in which they have to cover. And I thought that the bills did a really good job with it this week. And what that does is it really defines the throw for the quarter. Because you and I both know, as good as Josh Allen is, and no one would argue that he's not in the top three or four quarterbacks in the league, when he doesn't feel like he sees it clearly right away, what does he do, Colin? He moves. So there are times he leaves the pocket prematurely.

So if you can really define it for him, and you made a good point about Cooper as a route runner, but if you can define it for him with really outstanding spacing in your route concept, then he's going to play more consistently from the pocket and play well. from the pocket. Yeah. So I want to talk Baltimore Ravens. And it's just, I find them the most entertaining watch. It's so much fun to watch.

Why, it's probably simple, but I don't think Derek Henry would have been this good on any other team. He would have been fine, but he looks like, you know, Derek Henry five years ago, is it just Lamar? Is that why he's a perfect fit? because it seems to me a month ago we worried about the Ravens O line. Why is Derek Henry such a great fit? Yeah, you know, I'm not sure he's anything different than he was. I mean, he certainly had all those great years in Tennessee,

and he's on a team that obviously has a fully-dimensional offense. I mean, Lamar Jackson is playing really high-level football, but there's no question that the Lamar factor in the run game definitely adds to Henry because the backside pursuit, can't get to Henry the way it might if you just have a more conventional quarterback because you have to account for Lamar Jackson in the run game and that dictates how defenses have to align. So very often that backside pursuit is not a factor at all. But Henry to me essentially looks like he did in Tennessee. He always gets long runs. I mean you're looking right now at that

what, 81-yard run and I think he was genuinely surprised that the corner was there. But But no, I don't think he looks any different. I just think this is a really fully dimensional offense. Lamar Jackson is playing great football. Physically, we know what Lamar is. Mentally, I think he's playing better than he ever has. And now you have quality receivers. But what's so interesting about them, Colin,

they play the lowest percentage of three wide receiver personnel of any team in the league. This is a team that plays with Ricard, the fullback. They play with what we call 22 personnel with Ricard and two tight ends. They're very different from pretty much every team in the league in what they do from a personnel standpoint. All right, where the Cowboys are sort of unraveling and imploding,

but they are going to San Francisco, and the Niners are all beat up on offense. The Cowboys are a little beat up on defense. I think at the trading deadline, my take is they'll only be able to do so much offensively. And in the NFC now, Detroit stacked, Minnesota stacked, Green Bay Stacked, Philadelphia Stacked. You can't win big in the NFC with Dallas's personnel.

Or are you seeing something I'm not? I just think they're limited. No. Well, they can't run the ball. Up to this point, all we have is what's up to this point. Obviously, they had a buy week. I'm sure they did a lot of self-scouting. We'll see what they come out with.

But up to this point, they've been unable to run the ball. And the fact is, and I like that Prescott, I think he's a very good. very good player but that press got has settled into in his career and there's nothing wrong with it because you could argue somewhat Jared Goff the same way he just says more with his offense but that with no run game it's very difficult for Dak they can't run the ball at all and he's forced to drop back too much they're playing with a rookie left tackle they're playing with a right tackle that's not a great pass protector so now you have major limitations to

your offense so it becomes a week-to-week proposition based on who you're playing against So this week, I guarantee you'll see Nick Bosa line up numerous times on the right side of the defensive line. So he goes against the rookie Tyler Guyton, who did not have a lot of experience playing at Oklahoma, and then he was moved to left tackle in the NFL. So you'll see, you know, they have problems on their offense that a run game would be able to help, but up to this point, they've really had no run game at all. Okay, let's talk briefly about Rams hosting the Vikings tonight.

T.J. Hawkinson comes back. What does he do? What does he add to Darnold, Kevin O'Connell, a tight end beyond versatility? Is he a real cog in this machine? Oh, for sure, because they play a lot

of 12 personnel with two tight ends, but he's explosive. He can run the seam. He has a vertical dimension to his game, and he's very, very good run after catch. You know, he was the tight end before La Porta, and Hockinson is probably a more explosive athlete than Leporta. So he adds a ton to their offense, and this is an offense that attacks at all three levels

really, really effectively. So again, it's his first game back. I don't know what that means tonight. Very often it takes guys, you know, a couple of games to get back, but overall, he really adds another multi-dimensional player to their past game. And as you know, Darnold's still playing really good football. Yeah. So you came on the show the year Jordan Love was getting discussed, and here's what Greg CoSell, he loved a young quarterback out of Utah State. This is our Carson Wentz.

Nobody hears about him, and you go out and go, there's this kid in North Dakota. So Jordan Love at Utah State. Utah State. He has the overall skill set to be in the discussion for a top five pick in the 2020 draft. He's got arm strength. He's got pace and touch. He threw with precise ball placement. He's got athleticism and movement.

He's got secondary action ability. He's a natural thrower comment. How about that? 2019, our show. I didn't have a full head of silver hair. Things have really changed. But, obviously, you loved him then. You give me that notebook.

You give it to me personally every year before the draft so I can cheat and get my notes. You loved him. Some of my GM buddies were a little gun-shy. They weren't sure about him. So has he become what you saw? Well, it's funny because then his last year in college with the change in coaching staff and a lot of lesser players, he did not have a good year, and therefore he dropped.

But the traits remain. He has become what I thought he could become. Everything you heard me say there back in 2019, he's now showing in the NFL. And one thing I really like about him, and I've talked with coaches about this, is he may be the most aggressive throwers in the league. Now, at times because of that, he can be a little reckless.

But here's what most coaches will tell you. You can dial a guy down, and once he gains experience, sometimes he learns that himself, but you can't dial a guy up. So if a guy is a checkdown artist, it's very hard to get him to make those difficult throws that you have to make at the NFL level at the intermediate levels, whereas he has no problem making those throws. And yes, every once in a while he'll make one that's a head scratcher.

But he is such an aggressive thrower and he's such an easy thrower. He threw a touchdown this week to Kraft. That was a big time arm strength throw. He was probably a hair late throwing it. And I know Bullock, the former USC safety, probably thought he was going to make the play, but the ball had such velocity that he couldn't. And arm strength does matter. It's not the only thing we know that.

But arm strength does matter. but he is a very aggressive thrower. So the play of the week is with Jordan Love, take it away. Yeah, let's look at this. This is a great example of what I'm talking about, too. This was the touchdown he threw last week, so let's take a look at it to Dantavian Wicks. And this was against Cover 2.

This is a big-time throw. It might look easy because he's such an easy throw over the football. But let's start with the fact that we're going to see him in the gun. And it's going to be a two-by-two set. So now what they're going to call here is they're going to call four verticals. That's what the route concept is. It's a very common route concept in the league, four verticals. Now, what you're going to get here initially what he's looking at is a too high structure,

two deep safeties. But what this is actually going to be, which is part of a too high structure, of course, is cover two. So you're going to see cover two here, which is a good coverage for four verticals because the corners are not deep player. So now when Wicks, now he's the number one plus split outside the numbers to the wide side of the field, he is going to run the vertical route. The corner's not going to carry him because it's covered two because he's a flat defender. So right now, Jordan Love knows that, and he's getting ready to deliver the ball.

Really, the only one who can play this is the safety to that side. But because it's four verticals and Tucker Kraft is running the vertical from inside, the same. safety can't fly over the top. I want you to understand. People understand how difficult to throw this is. That's from the far hash to the outside void to the other side of the field. Because

Love is such an easy throw over the football, as you can see here, he makes it look easy like anybody could make this throw, Colin. This is a really difficult throw. Greg Kossel, 45 years, NFL films. As always, absolute money, Greg.

Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Something's going on with the Houston Texans, Colin. I know they're five and two atop the AFC South, but kind of on the struggle bus. And it was evident last week against the Packers. The biggest issue has been past protection. CJ Stroud had a career low, 86 passing yards last week, got sacked four times. D'Amico Ryan's knows they need to protect their franchise QB.

For me, everything is on the table. When it comes to, it has to get fixed. I know how we're a coach, what we're asking to be done, and it's just not showing up on the tape. And it's not just one person. It's the entire thing. So it's just the entire offense from the top to the bottom. We have to get it cleaned up.

And obviously the numbers are brutal. C.J. Stroud is the third most pressured quarterback in the NFL has been sacked 20 times. He's pressured 46 times on third down and sacked 10 times. They can't protect him. Laramie Tunsell has been a turnstile there on the left side when he's played. Well, nothing slows the growth of a quarterback than when he's on his back. And we've seen this. And C.J. moves okay, but he's not a natural fluid runner.

That's not what he is. His comp coming out of the draft was Jared Goff with better movement. So he's not his escapability. He moves well in the pocket, but that's not what he is. He's a pocket guy. And I don't know. We've talked about potentially a sophomore slump. We haven't seen a slump from him and they are 5 and 2.

But no Nico Collins, plus a shaky offensive line. Plus Joe Mixon's been hit or missed availability. So I just think, I mean, the fact they're 5 and 2 and they've dealt with all these offensive issues tells you how good he is. Well, so they were favored by six and a half against the Colts at the outset. Oh, I'd love the Colts. Well, that's down to five now. Yeah, I'm going to take...

Colts are getting healthier, Jonathan Taylor expected back. Yeah, I like the Colts in that spot. Are we sure the Texans were a lock in that division? No, in fact, I was... My bet was the dysfunction in the rest of the division with Tennessee and Jacksonville, and we just didn't know... I didn't love Houston, but I thought they had the most stability. continuity, continuity, and dependability in a wonky division.

I mean, we both kind of, I mean, obviously, Jacksonville's gone sideways. Neither one of us like Tennessee and Indianapolis were like, well, Anthony Richardson remain healthy. And after the first month, you're like, I'm not sure. Yeah, I don't, this Jacksonville team's interesting. If they can somehow beat the Packers and the Texans lose to the Colts, Jacksonville's only two games back in the division. And the Colts are kind of live of Anthony Richardson can ever figure things out. Interesting weekend for the Texans for sure.

Next up, Colin, is the Kansas City Chiefs, the last unbeaten team in the NFL. And they'll probably keep it that way against the Raiders, right? Nine and a half point favorites against Vegas this weekend. Antonio Pierce was asked about where Patrick Mahomes stacks up in the all-time quarterback ranks, and here's what he has to say. Speaking of Mahomes, Aviv, you know, where does Patrick Mahomes stack up against the great quarterbacks

you played as a player like Brady and Manning? I mean, I'm sure by the end of it, he'll probably move up, but the two gentlemen you named obviously a Hall of Famers, one is the greatest of all time. Game playing against him is the same, you know, countless sleepless nights that you had as a player. And it's tough because he's a tremendous talent, very competitive. And to be honest, even with what's going on in the season with the interception,

he's still playing his best ball. Maybe saying a little too much there? Patrick Williams, even with the interceptions this season. And of course, obviously in the off season, You had this Kermit the Frog moment. A rookie, poor rookie doing this. At the time, he probably thought it was hilarious. I'm sure Andy Reid's going to be showing that to the locker room this week.

Chiefs, Raiders. Remember, Raiders' last team to beat the Chiefs Christmas Day. That's right. That caused me a lot of money. Antonio Pierce's team last week. They don't have any offense, but they kept that game with the Rams competitive, and they got nothing offensively. Antonio Pierce's teams, you know, you can roll your eyes,

but remember the first year with Detroit when they had Dan Campbell and we just said, well, they don't win a lot of games, but they play hard. The Raiders play their butt off, and they got nothing to work with offensively. If they get the quarterback right, watch out. So Kansas City coming off the huge emotional game against San Francisco. I'm looking to see who they have next. It's Tampa Bay, not a big deal. It's just tough for me to make a case for the Raiders here, Colin.

If Patrick Mahomes wants revenge and do exact it, and Andy Reid says, you know what, let's embarrass these guys. Let's get these Gardner Minshu. Come on. What's Mitch you going to do against his defense, Colin? He's trapped for the league lead and picks. His Chief's defense? They made Brock Purdy look pedestrian. Well, the reason the line's at minus nine and a half.

I mean, that's a gigantic NFL line. It was 10, though. Well, I mean, I just, I always tell you, biggest spread of the board, I just get rid of it. When's the last time I bet the biggest spread of the board? Lions Titans is the biggest. I'm not going to bet it. I just stay away from it.

The Clippers opened their new arena last night and lost a heartbreaker to the Suns. It was quite a scene there at the, what are they calling it, the Intuit Dome? Yeah, look at the wall.

Look at that wall. They just packed fans back there, almost like a college atmosphere. Yeah. Pretty cool. It features a 51 row section, including the first 13, the standing room only, and you have to be a fan of the Clippers to sit there. The Suns felt the presence of the new wall. Rutgers, they keep losing close. I think they're going to cover the 13-point spread. Big Ten teams traveling multiple time zones for conference matchups. are 5 and 11 this season. USC defense, third down defense is top three in the country. Rutgers, I'm going to take the frustrated team who keeps losing close.

Yes, I don't like the Maryland loss, but Penn State, LSU, they look like two touchdowns better. They'll take out their frustration on Rutgers and cover the spread. Dang it, I'm with you. Trojans here roll. Since that Rutgers win over Washington, they've lost four. straight. They're cratering. And Washington basically unraveled in that game and

gave them touchdowns. That certainly happened. And again, I don't want to act like I'm defending USC during this losing streak. But like every loss they have is a close one. Three losses by a combined 11 points. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just late game lack of execution. You can figure that out. Won't need it against Rutgers. USC rules. Okay, I'm going to take the over. Nebraska's at Ohio State. I'm going to take the over 48 and a half.

Nebraska got whacked last week. They'll come back and play better. Ryan Rihola, the quarterback, he has the most passing yards in the FBS of any true freshman. Ohio State's an offensive machine. Let's just be honest about this. Offensively, they got like nine NFL players. All of their wins have come by 28 plus points. They're averaging 43 a game this season. I like Will Howard.

I think they're receiving cores the best in the country. I think it'll be a fun game for about a half, but I think it blows past the over at 48. and a half. Yeah, I'm actually opposite you on this game. Last week, I picked Nebraska and they got throttled like 56-7. But I'm only under in Nebraska Ohio State. For one reason, Colin, we mention it all the time. The spot, Ohio State, Penn State, Happy Valley is coming up. And you know that's the focus of Ohio State, not a team that just got creamed by 40-some-odd points. So I can see Ohio State kind of sleepwalking through like a 2317 type game. And under 48 and a half. By the way, this open 49 and a half.

It's now down to 48.5, and I'm seeing some 48th pop-ups, so money coming in on the under. I'm going to take the over 54.5 points in Illinois at Oregon. So Illinois is averaging 30 a game. Okay. Oregon really didn't play very well last week. We knew this. They beat Ohio State. They sleepwalk through Purdue and don't play well.

They're going to rev the engine back up. Oregon, again, 35-0 win over Purdue. but they didn't play well. And I'll say this. Luke Altmeyer, the quarterback for Illinois, 17 total touchdowns, one pick this season. Illinois tends to play very well against better teams. I don't think they'll win here,

but they'll force Oregon to show some of their playbook. They'll make Oregon compete. And I think in this spot, I'll take the over here. Unbelievable. We are opposite on two. I'm under on this one, Colin. Again, primary reason. Who does Oregon have?

half coming up next. On the road in the big house in Ann Arbor, huge. I know Michigan's not ranked right now, but that's still a big game, Oregon, Michigan, like preseason, you circle some games, that'll be a game where Oregon travels to. I don't think the focus is here on Illinois. And this Illinois team is pretty strong defensively. I like them. I think this is kind of nip and tuck deep into the third quarter early. I think it's a close game. Yeah, and I think it'll stay under the total of 54. How about that? We both love the Trojans. Head to head. You're beating this season? Dude, I will say, I've got five straight winning weeks in this contest.

Now, the first two weeks I fell on my face. It was ugly. I wasn't seeing the ball well. Now I am. And your boys getting a little hot. We'll see. We'll see who wins out this weekend. I'm watching a lot of college football.

We talk NFL. So tonight is the Rams and the Vikings. I think the Vikings defense, which got pushed around a little bit, will resurface tonight. I like the under for the Rams here at 23 and a half. I think it's a very low-scoring game. I think it feels like 24-20 Vikings win this game. Let's go to the week eight schedule in the NFL. So this is a very good Thursday night game.

I ask you every week when we get to Thursday and Friday, you've got to get me the big upset. So I'm looking at Seattle hosting Buffalo. I think that's a really interesting spot. can't believe you brought this game up. Okay, so do you remember what I had to shave my head, the Seattle Seahawks thing? So a lot of Seahawks fans started to follow me and I started to talk to some of them. One of them pointed out something genius to me that I didn't think of. So Seattle new head coaches, McDonald, where was he last year? Baltimore. Right. How did Baltimore do against Buffalo

this season? They throttled Josh Allen. Remember it was like 35, 10 or something? Blowout City. Josh Allen could do nothing offensively against the Baltimore defense. Do you think McDonald's talking to his old guys in Baltimore? Hey, what did you guys? do. Was it the single high safety? I believe, now getting healthier, it sounds like Bolin is tracking a play, the great cornerback. I think they will cook up a scheme defensively to really rattle Allen. And I don't know if Amari Cooper's ready to be like a contributing factor. I think I'm with you on Seattle, Colin. Yeah. If you really look at Seattle's season is they went to Detroit, had 38 first downs. They had none of their top four defensive

lineman. So when Seattle's gotten healthy, I always go back to the check the box belief. So we like their coach. We like their run game. We like their defensive front. We like their weapons. They have a shutdown corner. You know, Gino is a multiple pro bowler. He's more than capable. Seattle checks a lot of boxes to be giving them ever a field goal or more at home. I think, and I said last year, I thought the Seahawks should have drafted a quarterback. They didn't. And because I thought last year's draft class, I don't think you're going to see anything like that for another three or four years. And when you see a quarterback draft class with potentially, we already know two, three guys can play. Two really can play. And I think J.J. McCarthy looked great in the

preseason. I think Seattle made a mistake last year. John Schneider's a good GM. I thought they should have moved up, taken a quarterback. There is some concern. D.K. Metcalf obviously, the injury carded off against Falcons. He's tough. I mean, and also Noah Fant could look for him to be a big factor against the Buffalo linebackers

who have struggled. It's the Buffalo secondary that's kind of scary against Gino Smith. But we'll see Kenneth Walker. I think that's a great game. Probably, is that the game of the week, Colin, second best game? I don't know. Niners, Dallas has the name and the Starwadage. But I'm fascinated by Buffalo, Seattle.

anybody, it's amazing. The wise guys like Dallas at San Francisco. I like San Francisco. I think that's about the injuries, you know, that it's got to be. Well, Dallas is not 100% hell. I think Dallas is such. Well, come off the buy? I think that helps Andy Reed.

What about Micah Parsons? I mean, I think buys don't work for everybody. Andy Reed, McVeigh are unbelievable. Is Nick Seriani off of a buy special? I mean, I just don't. Is he special ever? Yeah, I mean, I just, I don't. think certain offensive coaches are great off a buy.
