We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.

We're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
It's a heard Fox Sports Radio.
LeVar Erington, Jonas Knox, in for Colin.
We will be taking you all the way up until 3 p.m. Eastern time,
noon Pacific.
You can hear LeVar and I and Brady Quinn on two pros and a cup of Joe
throughout the course of the week.
Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. Eastern time.
You know, a little grab-ass to get your morning.
started in the world of sports and beyond. So we'll be there tomorrow morning as well, too.
But we are talking about college football. We're talking about the NFL. We've got the Peach Bowl,
which is kicking off here in just a few moments from now between Arizona State and between
the Arizona State Sun Devils and the Texas Longhorns there. Our guy Pete Prisco, who joins us
throughout the course of the week, he's already sent out a tweet. He is there. He actually
made it out for that game, a proud Arizona State alum. So we will keep.
We posted on that throughout the course of the show.
Maybe the Sun Devils will keep it close there and make that a game with Cam Scadaboo, who's a beast.
But it feels like he's going to have much a similar task that Ashton Genty had last night to where he's got to try and potentially carry that team if they want to have any success against Texas.
So again, we'll keep you updated on that throughout the course of the show.
The other running back in the news is Saquan Barclay.
and Sequin Barclay has got an opportunity.
He's 101 yards shy of breaking the all-time single-season rushing record.
And so the big discussion is, well, Philly's got nothing to play for.
They're taking on his former team, the awful giants this week.
And if Philly's got nothing to play for,
why would you risk throwing Sequin Barclay out there to get injured?
You'd rather have him for the postseason,
even though he's got an opportunity to chase history.
Nick Siriani, the head coach of the Eagles,
spoke about his decision and thought process going into the decision yesterday.
I'll talk to our staff.
I'll talk to the players.
I'll talk to Howie.
I'll talk to Mr. Lori.
I'll talk to everybody to try to make sure I'm making the best decision for the football team.
And that's your job as a head coach.
You know, I'm going to always do what's best for the team and the individuals going for that.
And I'm still thinking through a little bit of this too, but something I haven't told the guys yet.
So I'll always let them know before I let anybody else take into a lot to account.
Again, it's what's the best thing for the team?
And then also what's the best for the individuals that are going for the record?
You know, if you'd think back a couple years ago to 2021,
Smitty was going for the rookie receiving record.
I think he was going to break Deshaun Jackson's rookie receiving record.
And everybody else was resting, but we wanted, or everyone else, whatever it was,
we didn't play some other guys in that game.
We went and got him that record.
Every situation is a little different, not saying one way or the,
other how that's going to play out or even that I've made a decision yet but again I got to tell the
guys first when I when I do come to that decision and I'll let you guys know but a lot goes into it
all right so Labar you have a gift all right now you just hear you're able to hear what a coach is saying
but really translate what he's saying or get a feeling for what way they're siding with as far as a
decision goes and then making a decision so you hear Nick Seriani on WIP in philly yesterday
talk like that.
How do you think this thing goes?
Well, I think there's two ways.
I interpreted it two ways, Jonas.
I think the first one that I took from it is,
because you don't,
what do you need to talk to all those people about?
Like, if the man wants to go out there and play
and you know what he's going out there to play for,
what's all the goes into it and all this and that and the others?
So there's that.
So I kind of took it as he's talking to all of them because he's going to play them.
And he don't want to lose his ass if, you know, if Seekwon was something were to happen to Seekwon in that game.
Or two, you know, option number two, the way I took it, was I'm not playing them.
And I don't care if, you know, or I shouldn't say I don't care.
I want to be clear that we're on the same page that, I mean, how important is this record?
Because here's the thing.
We're looking at this as an individual record.
But you got to keep in mind, that goes down in the record book for the Eagles, too.
You know, and that adds to the history for the Eagles.
The Eagles will now be able to boast having the single season leader in rushing yards, right?
So there is more to it than just the individual.
Yeah.
So I think that those are the two ways of looking at it is I don't want to get in trouble if I put him in there and he gets hurt.
Like it's like sign me off.
Sign off on that.
So going into hearing those comments and following those comments, my thought was I leaned towards he was going to play.
But I looked at it and said, I wouldn't do it, but it felt like that's maybe where he was leaning.
Nick Siriani just spoke with reporters in Philly a couple of moments ago,
and they have made the decision to rest Saquan, Barclay, and other starters.
And this is my thought on it.
That is crazy.
Well, I think the only way, so the quote from Nick Siriani is this.
It's a very special record that's been standing for a very long time by a great player,
but you try to do what's best for the team.
When the buy was how guys are gone, how guys are feeling.
our goals are to have success and play good the next game we play.
So that's the quote from Nick's a that's a bunch of crap.
Like that to me, I don't buy that at all.
That, like that man ran for the amount of yards that he's ran for.
And to be in position to take down one of the greatest running backs of all time who did one of the greatest feats of all time
and putting that record in place where it has not been,
it has not been broken.
It has not been broken.
And this man is 100 yards away from doing it.
And it's to rest him for the playoffs.
I don't, I mean, you play the game.
You play the game.
You know what I think.
So aren't they going, let me ask you this.
Let me ask you this.
This is last game of the year.
Yeah.
Does, does Philly get a.
buy week.
No.
They got to play right away.
Yeah.
And that's,
they're not going to be at one seat.
Yeah.
And that's why I, going into it, I thought, look, if they would have had a buy week,
I could understand them playing him because, hey, listen, we're getting next week to rest
anyways.
Let's do it.
But my thought, if I was, you know, before hearing Nick Siriani's comments from yesterday,
I started to lean towards, man, I think they're going to end up playing him.
When you hear his comments today after they make the official announcement that they're
not going to play Saquan Barclay and chase the record and they're going to rest starters.
I got a feeling they wouldn't have done this unless Sequin wasn't okay.
Yeah, I'm with you on that.
I can I can I can buy that.
Because there was a point so he was miced up.
But why put him?
And he said the record didn't matter to him.
Listen.
Earlier this year there was a point where he was on the sideline and there was an opportunity
for him to break a record of some sorts to go back into the game and they asked,
hey, what do you want to do?
It's up to you.
It's your call.
And Sequin Barkley, because he's such a great guy, and you know this, obviously, him being Penn State alum, he made the call that, listen, let other guys get some burn time.
I don't need to go back in.
So I don't think that they make this call unless he gives him his blessing and the okay.
I just don't like it.
I don't like it.
I don't like it.
I don't like for him to have to be put in a position where that's the, like, him being a good guy can ultimately, sometimes that can work against you.
and that might sound selfish and that might sound like, you know, I don't know what it sounds like, but I don't like it.
You're that close to it.
You're a professional.
It's the game.
It's the season.
And you work towards things.
Like you work towards greatness.
You work towards immortality because you know the moment you're not playing that game anymore, you start to see and feel.
your mortality.
You're not an immortal anymore.
And now you start down a different road in your life.
When you have the opportunity and the ability to be able to do things like break records of the greatest of the greats.
So you're telling me they would rest LeBron James.
If LeBron James had the opportunity to break a record from Michael Jordan or any of the other greats,
you know, when he broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's record, stuff like that, you're going to rest him?
Like that to me, that's an overstated, that's an overstated cop out, if you ask me.
Like, resting?
You're in season.
Aren't you preparing for a season?
When you're preparing for the season, you're not preparing for every game that you're going to play
and possibly play in the playoffs?
All right.
He's not, I mean, he's not crazy old.
I know he's had injuries.
And I'm sure you take that into consideration.
it just he'll he probably will never come this close to that record again he'll probably never come that
close to this record again and it's oh he's a nice guy so go ahead and rest him because he's not going to
care or that that record well maybe it'll matter to his kids maybe it'll matter to his grandkids you know
how much that record matters to Eric Dickerson he don't want nobody to break that record just
ask and he'll let you know
That is a serious feat.
And people say, oh, well, he played more games.
Well, you know, the record that he broke, OJ Simpson played less games, too.
So I don't care about the whole idea that, well, Sequin is doing it in more games than what Eric Dickerson did.
I don't care.
You didn't like when I, that was my excuse a couple of days ago.
It doesn't matter.
I don't care.
He broke somebody's record that didn't play as many games as Eric Dickerson did.
but you know what?
Eric Dickerson went and broke that record.
I can't remember a whole lot of things about Eric Dickerson's career by detail, right?
When you think about people that have played the game,
you can't remember a lot of things that they've done by detail.
You know what you can remember?
Records.
You can remember records.
There are certain things you can remember, man,
but you don't remember everything.
You get an opportunity to etch your name in the record books as such the highest
level of competition and you're saying, oh, well, we're going to rest them for the playoffs?
I don't, I don't buy that.
That's not a decision I would have made.
I'm like, let's get this man that record.
Like when, if I'm the coach, let's get him.
Let's get him that record.
And if I'm the O line, I'm sitting there and I got snobbles and I got saliva coming
out of my mouth.
Oh, God, let's get it.
I'm foaming at the mouth.
Let's get him that record.
Because you know what?
That's the offensive lines record just as much.
as it is Sequin's record.
Here's what's weird
about just, and this is why
I think that Sequin was obviously
heavily involved in this and he was
a decision maker. If
Jeffrey Lorry and Howard Roseman
and all these guys in Philadelphia
at the front office said, no, no, no, we don't want him
playing. And you had all these teammates being like,
Seekwon, it's not worth it. And then they go to Seekwon
Barkley afterwards, say, hey, your thoughts,
we don't think it's a good idea. No, I want to play.
Like, Nick Seriani's
not going to go against everybody
in the organization and and or and and let sayquan play and he's not going to divide and put create
this divide when there's already been stories about a divide that's there between seriani and other
coaches and syriani and hurts and a j brann all like to me this is pretty cut and dry they went to
sayquan barklin said what do you think if he would have put up any fight whatsoever i don't think
they would have gone against him i just i feel like he was heavily involved in the call i don't
I think he's earned it.
I don't think you do it.
I think you say we're going to get this, like if I'm Nick Siriani,
we're going to get this record.
You're playing against your former team.
They discarded you.
Threw you in the trash of sorts.
You're not worth it.
And they did that s on hard knocks.
Everybody in the world saw it.
You get to go break that record.
You get to go break that record against the former team that didn't want you in the same
conference, same division.
I don't like it.
I say let's go get it.
Let's go get it.
And then you take that type of momentum.
You got an early gift in your season.
You're going for the Super Bowl, but you got an early gift in your season.
You're not getting the number one seed.
So if you're not getting the number one seed, get this momentum.
Let's carry that momentum into the playoffs.
Our offensive line are some dogs.
So let's go out here and beat dogs again and carry this into the playoffs.
And oh, by the way, we're going to make history.
every last one of us were going to make history.
You know what?
I didn't get 200 sacks in my career, but you know who did?
Bruce.
You know who was right there in the picture?
Go look at the pitcher.
Go look at the pitcher.
I'm going to be right there in the picture.
I'm going to be right there.
That wasn't just Bruce Smith's record.
That was not just Bruce Smith's record.
I was right there with him.
You ran it.
You're like, guys, we did it.
We did it.
You got that.
Man, I was all.
I was grabbing him and hugging him.
I knew that camera was out.
And I knew I was a part.
I might have only been a part of it.
Hey, hey, Jonas, I might only been a part of 20 of them 200.
But you know what?
I was a part of the last 20.
I was a part of the last 20, baby.
And I'm going to have my moment.
Damn.
We broke that record.
I tell Bruce that every time I see Bruce like,
hey, man, we give each other big eyes.
and we broke that record, didn't we, Bruce?
Pray.
Pray.
Pray for why.
I used to tell.
Some of this madness going on around here.
When Brady and I were doing the Sunday night show together, so I said, Brady, between
you and I, we threw 95 touchdowns in college.
You know, like, I used to claim that all the time.
Like, I'm a part of that.
That's part of this.
Well, you do radio with them.
Yeah.
It counts as mine.
I mean, I get it.
You guys are first round draft picks.
Me too.
No, you're not.
My ass.
Check the show.
You're part of this.
Yes, I am.
Yeah, so again, that's the latest.
It felt like Nick Siriani speaking yesterday was going to make the call to let Seekwon play.
But as it turns out, he spoke with reporters a short time ago.
And no Sequin Barclay or other starters in the finale against the Giants coming up this weekend.
So the record is saved.
I also wanted this.
If Sequan had broken the record.
in 17 games,
would Eric Dickerson,
much like Mark Gastineau,
have accosted him at an autograph signing
years later for a faulty record
if that was the case like he did.
No.
Man, come on, which is funny.
That's a funny throw out there.
Because he really did want to get at Brett Far
for that, man. And you know what?
Don't records be matter, man.
Those records matter.
You know, it would be the ultimate move by the Giants.
If say Seekwan Barkley,
was, you know, 20 yards shy of the record. And they just let him get it. Oh, man, because then
he would feel guilty about getting it because he'd be like, oh, this is not right. But the,
giants could be like, you know what? Michael Strayhan got a gift from Brett Farve years ago. We're
going to go ahead and give you a gift. And then it would put a stain on the record completely.
And then everybody would be like, what was the point? You know, like that's still Eric's record.
To me, that's where it gets confusing, you know, not, not any other way. I mean, Brett Farv took a
Paul. He took a dive. I mean, everybody's seen it. He took a dive. That might have been the worst
way to break a record I've ever seen in my entire life. But you know what? It happened.
And you know, that's a record. It's a record. Mark Gassanil wanted to tear Brett Farv's head off
his neck. And you know what? And maybe rightfully so. Because he know what he did.
Why does he go after T.J. Watt tied the record. I mean, come on, man. All I'm going to say,
All I'm going to say is, all I'm going to say is that was a dive.
But here's the thing.
If you're resting starters and you're saying I'm resting starters because this is what we're doing.
I mean, I get it.
I just feel like why wouldn't you play them long enough to get to the 100?
Do you got to play four quarters to get to the 100?
I mean, but probably not.
Maybe reassess it, re-evaluated at halftime.
Like, where is he at?
he might have ripped off a 50-yard or 40-yard or 60-yarder.
You never know.
I just think it's crazy, man, to be that close to history and not go get it.
If that was Dan Campbell, he would have had Sequin on special teams, too.
Like, oh, listen, oh, you're going to hurt it, buddy.
Hey, hey, you're on kickoff.
Have fun out there.
Yeah, so, listen, disappointing.
I'm disappointed, but, hey, it is what it is.
There's the, I'm a Sequan fan.
There's the little bit of breaking news here on the herd with LaVar Erington and Jonas Knox.
Nick Siriani makes the announcement.
It's official no Sequin Barclay in the final game of the season trying to break the all-time rushing record.
It is the herd here on FSR.
Again, LeVar, Jonas, in for calling here.
Coming up next on Fox Sports Radio, though.
Apparently we've got a little bit more insight as to what the future looks like for one of the all-time greats at quarterback.
That's yours right here on FSR.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio, FS1, and the IHeart Radio app.

Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name
Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it
one of the early names of our band
before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas,
title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

It's the heard Fox Sports Radio, LeVar Arington, Jonas Knox, in for Colin.
We are going to get to this latest story.
involving a team in the NFL that's got a lot of stories that have come out this year.
But we may now have at least a little bit of an indication as to whether or not they're going to go in one direction as far as parting ways with this player after the season.
So we'll have that for you coming up here in just a couple of moments from now.
An update on the big story that is currently going on, which was the tragedy in New Orleans.
There was a suspect who drove a truck into the crowd there.
obviously people there in New Orleans celebrating New Year's Eve, also getting ready for the sugar bowl, which will be taken place there later on tonight.
And reportedly, there is some thought that, and there's a report out there from WDSU in New Orleans, that they may be postponing the sugar bowl 24 hours.
So we may not actually get the sugar bowl later on tonight.
It may be tomorrow.
Again, we're waiting on a second confirmation of that.
but that is at least what the initial report from WDSU is saying,
that they are investigating it as a terrorist attack.
And before, you know, they feel comfortable playing the game.
They want to make sure everybody is safe and all parties involved are not in any danger.
And so the thought is they may be moving it to tomorrow of the bar.
So that's at least the initial report.
Safety first.
Safety first, you know, and to all the people that were impacted by affected, you know, by what took place.
Thoughts and prayers, obviously and positive thoughts to them and everyone involved.
It's unfortunate that there's such evil that exists in our world, but nonetheless, it does
exist and proper protocols and proper precautionary actions.
I agree with that.
I think that that makes sense here.
I think that that's right.
and you know you want to make sure that again whoever was impacted did do we have like the
you know do we have any more information on like the the level of injuries that took place
uh dozens injured i've seen 10 deaths i've also seen uh 12 out there as well too yeah it's it's bad
yeah that's that's that's just that's yeah that's that's that's that's that's that's that's that's horrific where
you don't you know how do you celebrate a game you know how can you properly celebrate a game it's so
quick afterwards man so quick yeah right right so i think they got it right i think it makes sense to
postpone it for now um you know even if it's just for you know the day to make sure that like i
said protocols wise everything is handled the way that it's handled and done the way it needs to be
done i think that that's the right the right move and and you know what like
These teams are going to have to, you know, figure out how to, you know, kind of pot down a little bit,
but be able to ramp back up to get going for the game when the game, you know, is played.
So, you know, things happen.
You got to be able to adapt and adjust to the moving variables sometimes.
And sometimes it's out of our control as to why you have to be able to adapt and adjust.
And in this case, it's so sad and upsetting to hear something like this take place.
Why would you do it?
Like, what are you thinking about?
What are you trying to prove?
What are you feeling after you did it?
Like, it really was it, is it that bad?
Is whatever going on that bad where you have to impact other people's lives that way?
It's just I don't understand it.
But you know what?
Thoughts and prayers, like I said, to the families.
Yeah, and again, if we get confirmation, it does appear like that's where it's heading,
that the Sugar Bowl will be postponed 24 hours.
If we get another confirmation on that, we'll have that for you throughout the course of the show.
It is the herd here on Fox Sports Radio elsewhere in college football.
Texas is up 7 to 3 in the Peach Bowl over Arizona State.
So the Longhorns have just scored eight minutes and change left to go in the opening quarter there.
We'll have updates on that throughout the course of the show.
Also, in about 15 minutes from now, a little over 15 minutes from now,
apparently an NFL team is making a decision that's going to piss off their fan base.
Apparently, that'll be yours here a little over 15 minutes from now.
So we do have another update on your favorite team, the New York Jets LaVar and Aaron Rogers.
Oh, wow, that's wonderful.
Courtesy of a stadium, sources say that barring an unforeseen change,
the Jets are expected to move on from both Aaron Rogers and wide receiver Devante Adams'
this offseason. Source tells us the relationship.
Hold on.
I'm sorry. I'm trying. Go ahead. Go ahead.
Damn. Dang.
Source tells us that the relationship between Woody Johnson, the owner and Rogers is irreparable.
That, of course, on the heels of Woody Johnson throwing out there that, you know, maybe they should have benched Rogers earlier in the season.
and Rogers, you know, although I will say that he has been pretty patient as far as discussing Woody Johnson but did sort of call out.
You know, I think there needs to be, you know, some patience from ownership as well in the NFL, just in general, which everyone perceived as him taking a shot at Woody Johnson.
Now, as somebody who was featured in episode three of Enigma starring Aaron Rogers on Netflix, I support Aaron Rogers and whatever his decision is.
I hope he gets touchdown 500 this weekend.
And I hope he leaves the New York Jets and realizes, you know what?
It wasn't all that bad in Green Bay, you know, really wasn't all that bad.
And him and Devante Adams end up somewhere.
I'll say this.
Devante Adams is still playing at a high level.
Like there's been some miscommunications with the Rogers on the field that you've seen.
But when he's playing, like against Jacksonville a couple of weeks ago, he lit them up.
So I don't have any thoughts about Devante Adams' future.
I think there's going to be a place for him in the NFL.
I'm just wondering what the hell happens with Rogers after this year
because it felt like this was where it was heading that he wasn't going to be back in New York.
Probably call it.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
You know, this is what I do know is that whatever it is that he did,
he needs to make a men's fort in Green Bay.
so he could go back home and be celebrated at the end of the day, right?
Because it's a rap.
Like wherever he goes, I don't even know how much it, like, how much does that,
how much does he have left in him to be able to impact his career?
You know, I mean, maybe he can go.
Is there a team out there that he could actually go to that would be good enough for him
to kind of, you know, redeem himself with.
in his career.
You know, I would say no.
I don't think that that exists.
I don't think that team is out there.
I don't think that team exists.
Wasn't that supposed to be what the Jets were?
That was what the Jets were supposed to be.
Yeah.
That was what they were supposed to be.
And that is not what they ended up being.
And you know what?
I don't know.
I don't know that you get the opportunity with the reputation that you have,
which is kind of sad, right?
Because you think about it.
he has been a brilliant football player throughout his career.
But you got to think about the idea that, you know,
a lot of the drama that played out in Green Bay was associated and attached purely to Aaron Rogers.
So now you see it taking place in a whole other environment.
Why would you bring, why would you take a risk on bringing him into your organization,
knowing that everywhere he's been, he's generated this constant media attention that's driven by drama.
I just don't see that being a good decision for an organization to make on a player that's at the juncture in his career that Aaron Rogers is in.
So if you're asking me, what's next?
He might not be, he might not be touchable.
I think he walks.
I think if he gets.
the 500th touchdown and it's two Devante Adams.
I think he looks at that as, you know what, I wanted to try and win another Super Bowl.
It didn't happen.
The injury came up.
The season hasn't gone how we thought it was going to go.
But I got to finish my career playing with my best friend and I got to throw my 500 touchdown
pass to my best friend.
I'm good.
Good.
And I think he walks away.
I don't think he plays again.
I got to be honest with you, though.
I think Devonte Adams is impacted by this as well because of the way.
things played out in Las Vegas.
Like, you drama your way up out of there.
But you don't think that he had a little bit of an argument there because what he's signed up for.
There's no quarterback.
Yeah, I get it.
He signed up for, I'm going to play with Derek Carr, who's another good friend of his.
And I felt like I, you know, we were, we had this plan in place.
And then all of a sudden, Carr gets benched before the season's even over.
They bring in Josh McDaniels.
That's a disaster.
All that played out.
It feels like what Devante Adams went to Vegas for,
they didn't provide on their end.
And that's why he looked at it.
I will say he was let down in that way.
I will agree with that.
But while I will agree with that,
he now still becomes like a de facto, basically like a journeyman,
like overnight.
If you think about it,
I mean, he'll be going to his third team.
Yeah.
Right?
Well, I mean, this will be his fourth team.
This will be his fourth team.
Third team after leaving the Packers.
I mean, I just, I don't, I don't think that that bodes well.
I mean, you know, different positions have different reputation kind of implications connected to him.
And maybe he goes somewhere else and he's able to have the type of season that he's been, you know, that he's been trying to have.
but I don't think that this bodes well or plays out well for him either.
I mean, it's possible that it could work against him if you ask me.
So, you know, I don't know.
But I don't find that just as like I didn't find the first breaking news piece of news on Cal Shanahan and John Lynch to be a surprise.
This one also is not of a surprise to me.
that it's going to happen.
Because I'm thinking...
Just so we're clear.
Because I just look at like,
what are the options, you know?
Like, if you...
Like, the only option would be,
and Rogers has been open to this.
Like, look, I'm totally okay
with being a mentor in a mentor role
to a younger quarterback
that gets drafted.
That's why when he has said,
like, I love New York,
I just built a place out here.
I love Manhattan, all that.
Man, the Giants isn't the worst idea in the world.
If they draft a quarterback
and they feel like, look, let's have a veteran here and somebody that we,
you wouldn't bring in Rogers to be the mentor?
No.
He's not going to have the guy.
You do not know what you're going to get.
All right.
Do not know what type of confusion that is going to be generated.
All right.
Because there's going to be an agenda connected to Aaron Rogers wherever it is he's at.
Let me.
That's not necessarily, I'm not going to put that necessarily all on him.
I think that the media plays.
a lot into that as well.
Are you worried, and I want you to just be
honest here, okay, just be honest.
Are you worried that, let's say,
for example, total hypothetical,
Cam Ward is the quarterback with the Giants.
They draft him, he ends up being the guy
there. Are you worried that
if Aaron Rogers is his mentor
with the Giants, that
Cam Ward is going to be found
riding on top of a camel
in a desert somewhere, smoking weed
out of a ukulele or
something like that? Is that what you're worried about?
I'm going to say yes for the sake of laughing at it.
Like, yes, that will concern me, that that becomes something he wants to do and prioritize with his time.
No, seriously.
First off, I don't think these, you would have to find the right quarterback for Aaron Rogers to be able to mentor.
A lot of these guys, they already have their mentors.
Who are you thinking, Todd Morinovich?
A lot of them already have their mentors, man.
And you know what?
They're not really like that whole idea of how it works with the whole respect thing.
And I know who you are and this, that, and the other.
And, you know, this is how it's going to work out and blah, blah, blah.
Like, those days are kind of gone, man.
Like, these new age athletes, they'd be like, I don't care that you're Aaron Rogers.
Really?
Oh, yeah.
Damn.
Oh, yeah.
I don't care.
I don't care.
Like, that's not, that's what, that's not what my concern is.
And you come in with those strong personalities and these guys have already been,
already been handled in a way where, you know, they're doing things at a high level.
I mean, like, think about this.
Like, guys like myself, I train guys from the time they're in the eighth grade.
You know, I mentor them and talked to them from the time they're in the eighth grade.
until they go to the pros.
You know, you have guys like TJ, you know, Hushmanzada, you know, you have these former,
you got these former pros that be out here, you know, mentoring and teaching these kids and,
you know, whatever it is that they're into.
And they already have a developed sense of identity and self by the time they get to the pro level.
So I think that's a little bit overstated at this point, too, to say,
oh, well, we're going to bring Aaron Rogers in to be a, you know, to be, to be a mentor to him.
Like, I don't, I'm sure a guy like Cam or, or Sador Sanders or whatever, whoever it would be,
I'm sure they'd be like, yeah, no, I'm good.
Like, I got my mentors.
Come on.
Like, hey, bro, you just worry about making sure that my bag gets to my, to the bus and to my room
and make sure that I have a coffee when I get to the meetings in the morning.
That's what you could do for me, Aaron Rogers.
Hey, come on, Cam, you don't want to microdose with me?
Come on.
Come on.
You play to Miami.
Let's go.
By the way, so Lee DeLap sent me attacks that they are the college football playoff and sugar
bowl officials are in a meeting with the FBI right now discussing the status of the
Sugar Bowl.
But there is a thought that they are still strongly considering postponing at 24 hours.
Some reports have said that.
that is the case, but we are waiting for official confirmation on that.
That is the status as far as what could take place following the tragedy overnight there in New Orleans.
So again, keep you posted on that as soon as long as information comes in.
We'll have that for you here.
Also update on the Peach Bowl, Texas has a...
Yeah, Texas has a 14-3 lead over Arizona State.
Arizona State went up by a field goal early.
Texas scored.
And then a punt return for a touchdown for the last.
longhorns and so they now have the ball back there with five minutes and change left to go
in the first quarter.
It is The Herd here on Fox Sports Radio.

We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band
Before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Turn on the news.
This is the Herd Lerd.
News.
I mean, who needs Jason McIntyre or Ryan Music when you've got Lee to Lab for the
Heardline News?
Lee, what's happening?
Oh, gosh.
Hey, guys.
Letting you know, well, Steelers.
Hey, thank you very much, there.
Hey.
Hey.
Was that vanilla sky?
One of the great seeds of all times.
You imagine walking into a bathroom and some guy looks like his neck is melting and some
a hole behind him says, hey, dude, fix your eff.
face.
All right, Lee.
Lee, what do we got?
Guys, the Steelers were reportedly told yesterday that they will be hosting an international
game next year in Dublin, Ireland.
And the thought is that they will be hosting the Green Bay Packers.
Oh, yeah.
Russell, Russell O' Wilson.
What do you think about that?
Oh, Wilson.
Yeah, what do you do?
Well, you know, that I believe the ruin.
are like ambassadors to Ireland.
They've been something to that effect.
They've been really pushing for this.
Like they've,
because I think the last game in Ireland
was a preseason game. I think it was Steelers,
Bears. Was it, uh,
98? Do I have that correct?
It was back in the 90s. Uh, yeah, I think 98
is correct. Yeah, around that time. And I,
like, they did a huge number.
So, you know, that does
that does make sense.
But they're losing a home game.
You know, there's probably people that are like, dude,
I mean, we don't want to have to shell
out all that cash to fly over to Ireland.
Can we just go down and go to, you know, acupuncture stadium?
Stiller fans aren't looking at it that way.
They're just going to roll.
One thing about Steelers fans, they just going to roll, man.
It is wild, but it doesn't matter where you are in the country,
there's a Steelers bar somewhere.
Yeah, everywhere.
I just literally.
I was really about to say we're everywhere, but, you know, I don't know.
That's weird.
What do you mean?
I am a tremendously big Steeler fan.
What's wrong with that?
You know?
I don't know.
Could be worse.
Could be a Bears fan.
I just think it's weird when fans say us.
Like, you know, my, like, you know, we want.
I don't know.
It's like weird to me out.
Yeah, us Packers.
We, you know, own the team here.
Yeah, it's weird.
Packers owner here speaking.
And you know who ruined it for me?
Dallas fans?
They ruined it for me.
Like, because they'll talk to you like they play for the team.
Yeah.
Like literally, like you were about to go up against them when you play against the Dallas Cowboys.
So thank you to the Dallas fans for ruining it, you know, saying us and me and we and my, you know, as it applies to the teams that I love.
That's all right.
As, you know, they got a, they got a way I ain't done winning yet.
The, you know, fate had some payback for the Dallas Cowboys.
It was called no Super Bowl since 96.
So you're right there.
You know, by the way, 30 years.
You know, it's still my.
my favorite stat about the Cowboys is like the Jaguars and Jets are the laughing stocks of the league
they've been to a conference championship game more recently than the Cowboys have like that
that's one of my favorite stats about the Dallas Cowboys you know what one of my favorite
things is right now about America's team what's that is that they realize they are not going
with no Super Bowl and so they let let one of their players go to got try to go find one yeah what's
What's your problem, perfect?
No, I just, I always love, you know, as a Lions fan, I used to love people bringing up, you know, the 19th, 1990s NFC championship between the Cowboys and the Lions.
It's like one team became the 90s team and the other, you know, bombed out and somehow we flipped that script.
Yeah.
Well, listen.
Well, you haven't totally flipped the script, my guy.
I know, but I'm just saying, I'm just saying, I'm just saying, we're talking about conference championship periods.
Lions didn't make one.
I don't remember what else happened after that.
Although, if you listen to Rob Parker, they're not going to do anything with Dan Gamble as their coach.
Stop being.
Why does he not like Dan Campbell?
He's been trying to fire him since like the mid-2020,
and that's exactly when the Lions started winning a whole bunch of games.
I always tell something to tease Rob, I'll say, listen, if that was Jim Caldwell making those decisions,
you wouldn't complain at all.
Because you know what that.
You know why.
Don't know why.
Why is that?
Racist.
Hey.
Lee, what else we got?
Guys, we've talked a lot about the MVP race between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.
Well, Joe Burrow was asked about the chance from his fans saying MVP MVP, but he said, you know what?
Got to win the division first.
Did you get the MVP chance when you went off the field?
I did.
What were your thoughts?
I win one one day.
You feel like this year by mid-year-finder or no?
I doubt it.
Why?
Usually you got to win your division.
He's so cocky, but it's great.
Like, yeah, I'm going to win one one day.
Yeah, I'm not worried about that.
You know, it just won't be this year.
By the way, if they get to the playoffs,
who the hell wants Cincinnati in the playoffs right now
with Joe Burrough slanging it?
Just think about that, VAR.
Get that work.
Let's take a break, man.
