He's the story of the day. He's that 6'8-17-year-old little goon from Maine, incoming freshman at Duke that schooled the U.S. Olympic team. So props to him. He's on that U.S. select team, that scrimmage. He put up big numbers and we talked about, you know, what were you doing at 17? You were just excited about Newty Magazine Day. This guy is playing against the best and doing well.

I was making my broadcasting debut, but not at a radio station at the Wendy's drive-thru. Can I kick your honor? And it looks like you're wearing the same headset. I am. Yeah, exactly. I'm broadcasting live in Texas. Camino's back in L.A. It's those dog days of summer where it's a lot of nonsense going on in the world of sports.

Well, perfect. Baseball. We're the worldwide leaders of non-examination. nonsense, so it makes sense. It's a baseball season, my Mets. Every time they get back to 500, they flounder a little bit. Your Yankees are struggling. Danny DG, your Dodgers are, you know, when you're good like the Dodgers,

you're sort of just biding time until the playoffs. And that's got to be a weird feeling as a fan. Because, like, you enjoy it, but aren't you just like, man, you better not choke in the playoffs again? Like, that's in the back of your mind, right? For sure. And they're dealing with a lot of injuries and the pitching rotation is a little screwy right now.

So you're right. as long as they can finish the regular season strong. Every championship team goes through their ups and downs. It's a long-ass season, so you don't have to worry about that stuff. But yeah, I hope you're having a Cooper flag sort of week. Rich, not to pat myself on the back like Barry Horowitz, but your boy's having a week. I've had a great past seven days, let's say. But in the bedroom?

Maybe. Slate it on Dan Patrick. We're having fun on the herd. We're in for Colin Cowherd, the biggest show in the country, right? It doesn't get bigger or better than this. Having fun in the old studio. Your boy was on Axis TV last night. Music Mayhem.

I don't know if you saw me, but I was also on the History Channel this weekend icons that built America talking shock jocks. That's right. And you schooled some kids at the 24-hour fitness. And I was hitting threes. Like, you don't even know. I went a game of horse. Yo, my week's been all right.

I haven't slept well, but... When are you going to challenge Jason McIntyre? What is it with you in this? What are you challenging Colin in? I want to know. Oh, Colin? Yeah, are you trying to set something up? I'll play.

Scrabble. Rich is going words with friends. I feel like I look good in light blue button down, so I'm going to challenge him to a... Oh, nice. All right, all right, anyway. Like a runway walk. I feel like I'm having a pretty good week, and this is a good way to cap it off early on a Tuesday.

Listen, man, your Yankees while they are struggling, I thought Ben Rice was a great story for the Yankees. And I'm excited about the All-Star break because, as we always say, of all the four major sports, you know, football, baseball, basketball, and hot dog eating. The home run derby, by far the most fun, and they adjusted the rules a little bit, so we'll be looking forward to that. That's a week from yesterday.

A week from today, you got the All-Star game with 32, New players, so that's something to look forward to. But you know what else is? Tomorrow, Kavino, we're less than a month away from football kicking off. This is the last month without football. And tomorrow on Netflix, receiver. Now, we all watch quarterback following the life of Mariotta, Kirk Cousins, who became the most lovable dork in the NFL,

and Patrick Mahomes, not only is his wife looking real good lately, and these bikini shoot she's doing, you realize that she is just... By the way, who previously had the title? for most lovable dork in the NFL. Is it Eli Manning? Who do you think previously held the crown? Oh, Eli's the goat in that category. So yeah, that cousin's definitely up there.

But it is great insight, Rich. And the first taste that I got of this as a sports fan is 24-7 back in the day. I used to love that. You know, because you're following two fighters. You don't know a whole lot about, and you feel more invested. And you felt more invested

watching quarterback, you're going to feel more invested watching receiver moving forward. That's the key to this. You get to know these players on a personal level. Rich, you're a 49ers fan. So, of course, you know kiddle day in, day out, and Debo. But again, it's Justin Jefferson, Devante Adams. You get to know what these guys are about. So aside from your own team, there's a little bit more of a rooting interest that pulls you in to the storylines this coming season.

I love that. I love when I feel more invested about these players as people or these athletes as people. Well, much like you tying it into next week's baseball festivities, if a guy on your team's in the home run derby, or if your NBA favorite player is in the three-point shootout, there's more interest because it's like, yo, that's my guy. Danny G., I can only imagine that you're interested in this, but the fact that Devante Adams is on it,

you're like, oh, I get some insight into the Raiders locker room in that world. Yeah, let's go. And he's out a little bit of a crossroads right now because he's still one of the elite receivers, but he's obviously getting up there in age a little bit for a receiver. But you've seen Kittle miced up before, so you can only imagine Kittle will be a very interesting part of the series because he's just a character.

So that starts tomorrow in the NFL. And did you see they asked Travis Kelsey if you wanted to do it? But he said, yo, no more of this reality TVS. He doesn't want to be in the spotlight. But Kelsey was asked to do it, but I think you've got some great stars. He has some PTSD in the world of reality TV. If you remember, we interviewed Travis back of the day when he was promoting, what was it called chasing Kelsey? His reality dating show back in the day.

That's where we met him years ago at Sirius XM. And then we recently had on Ed Kelsey at the Super Bowl. Was that last year? That was last year, right? Two years ago? Two Super Bowls ago. Man, Times flying. So this is pre-Taylor, right?

So two years ago, we had Ed Kelsey on the show. and I remember Ed was very very forthcoming about his disdain when it came to that reality TV world he was like I told him not to do it it was stupid he said something along the lines of you know we told him not to do it he did it anyway he wasn't a big fan of that so I'm sure

Kelsey's decision especially with the circus that he's surrounded by now had something to do with that I feel like we're all going to come out of this the same way we came out of quarterback where are you going to be like oh I like that guy more than I thought or that guy's sort of boring I wonder

I think we need more of that fill in those roles Yeah we need more of that in sports Like I said Nothing got you more fired up than the voice of Leif Schreiber And him talking about Mani Pac-Man Pacquiao

And Floyd Mayweather Whoever he was covering While they were jogging the streets of Oxnard, California. That would get you so pumped up. So when they bring this into the world of football or any sport, I think we need more backstory, more of that, get us intrigued, pull us in, get us invested. Well, I think receiver is going to be a huge hit. Like Danny G's dude, Devante Adams, that's an interesting story. He's a star, but at a crossroads on a team with maybe not their quarterback.

Everybody's got a story. You just don't know it. Look at Kittle and Debo. They're on a team that keeps getting close but can't finish in San Francisco. There's a story there. Jefferson, getting all that money. He's in Minnesota. There's a lot of great stories that you're going to see. And Brown, by the way, that's a great story. Detroit, coming out of nowhere and everyone's like, wow, are they here to stay? Are they a competitor for the next five years or so? We'll see. Again, this is all tomorrow, episode one. I'm sure there's a few that are released tomorrow. You know, it's funny about this, though. You keep talking about receiver tomorrow. And everybody is excited about it, but you totally like jump over the fact that hard knocks is on.

You so don't care about the New York football giants that you just don't even care. That's tonight. So episode two is tonight. And the first episode I'm telling you is good. That's the beauty of all this stuff. You don't have to be a fan who appreciate it. You don't have to be a Giants fan to get excited about Hard Knox and learn a little something about the team. Dude, anyone that believes that Daniel Jones is the future of the world, I can't get on board.

No, they don't. They don't. The new GM of the Giants tells his staff, we don't know if this is our guy or not. Yeah, it's awkward. Yeah. And that Saquan money they didn't have is in the quarterback's pocket. And he's like, we're going to see if that money was well spent or not. Dude, by the way, Danny G. points out some really good observations because you're sitting there thinking, am I supposed to be hearing this? Like, you're really fly on the wall watching this stuff. It must be really awkward for the players to hear. all the management talk about them. Just like their budget cuts, their numbers.

They're just numbers in the company. How are we going to figure this out? How are we going to balance this? Do we let Seekuan go? It's really cool to see, really cool to hear. So again, receivers different level of intrigue. I get it and they cover a lot of different players. But don't sleep on hard knocks.

If baseball's boring you and you're excited about football a month from now, you can watch episode one and two tonight. Who cares, Giants or not? It's good. I'm telling you. It's good. I'm intrigued enough on a boring night. I'm trying to catch up on the boys on Amazon.

I'm caught up on my other shows. Well, now you told me I have to watch The Bachelorette. So maybe I watched The Bachelorette and Hard Knocks tonight. It was surprisingly decent. The girlfriend, for reference, was watching it. And I was there by default and I got invested myself. Are you justifying? Yes, I am because there's a lot of people who are these idiots?

This one's talking about crying at a cartoon. The other guy's talking about the best. Bachelorette. I'm not trying to get that reputation. I'm trying to make it clear. Be a man. Be yourself. I am myself. I was, I got hit with the shrapnel of the bachelorette. It was just on. Own it. I don't, I like it. I like Bachelor in Paradise. That's, that's my, I like that. I'm not a big trash TV guy. All right. Well, and to answer your question, really quick, Rich, a quick Google machine search says all eight episodes of receiver premiere tonight on Netflix. July 10.

I don't know if I want to relive the 49ers falling short, but I will watch. I'm excited to see a little behind the scenes. And you know what? Kavino, there is a thought, you got me thinking based on what you said. I think it's fair, and I'll tell you why, as far as them talking maybe out of school, as you would say, these guys are making tens of millions of dollars.

This isn't like someone talking smack about a Walmart worker or someone at your office. It's like this is, you know, if you're talking, is Daniel Jones worth it? When a guy's making $40 million a year, I think you can publicly speculate it. I really do. It's like, yeah, we're paying you $40 million a year. Deliver or we'll publicly say we made a mistake and it's you. Yeah, it is wild to see though.

So worth to watch. Again, Hard Knocks episode two tonight. Speaking of football, I know we're getting fired. It's All-Star Week. Baseball is in the air. Rich doesn't care because he's a Mets fan. I get all that. No, I care.

The boy, I'm a lot of Polar Bear Pete. Yeah, Polar Bear Pete. He's going to win the home run derby. He's going to put on a show. I'm excited about it. But a lot of people excited about football being a month away. You know, Joe Burrow was in the news for defending his backless suit, and he was talking about the football schedule.

Yeah, he was also talking about how he thinks there should be no taunting penalties. He did a pretty cool interview with Barstool, and I was like, the takeaway that people are talking about with Burrow, they're making a team like this is his idea. Hey, if you want to give Joe Burrow credit, have Adam. But Joe Burrow, by the way, Rich, really likable, regardless of who you root for. I think everybody could agree. Certain guys like Patrick Mahomes, you can't hate the dude, right? And as we get to know, Joe Burrow, you could just appreciate that he is a cool dude regardless of what team you root for.

He's a very likable guy. For years, you and I have talked about the difference between confidence and arrogance, and Joe Burrow knows that line. I look at him as just a confident dude that he can laugh at him. himself. He could have some fun. I like Joe Burrow a lot. I'm a Joe Burrow fan. Well, isn't, isn't confidence a lot like arrogance with a smile?

Confidence? Isn't that the saying or the sentiment is it's sort of arrogance with the shrug, with a little bit of a smirk, with a little bit of a smile, because you're not taking yourself that serious. You're just confident yourself. Yeah, that's when you're arrogant and you're

a J.O. When you're the guy that's like, you're the man, but you never laugh about It's like, dude, don't take yourself so serious. Joe Burrow is talking about the NFL schedule. I don't think he's the guy that you get credit, but I see a lot of people on social media saying, man, Joe Burroughs onto something. And Danny G. Spot, guys, we talked about this the other day,

briefly with our update anchor Moncee. Joe Burrow suggested, eventually we will go to an 18 game schedule. It's inevitable that Roger Goodell and the teams will agree to 18 games. When we do go to 18 games, about it. We went from 16 to 17 like that. We didn't blink an eye. We will go to 18. When we go to 18

games in the NFL, if each team got two buy weeks, and then Burroughs suggested, week 13, everyone gets a buy, and it becomes sort of like an all-star weekend, an NFL Pro Bowl weekend, where there's skills

competitions and, you know, the fans celebrate the stars of the league, then by doing that, two-by-weeks, the all-star, Pro Bowl weekend. You're backing up the Super Bowl to be President's Day weekend, which means everyone would have that Monday off.

Which is what everybody wanted always. It's sort of like maybe that caveat the Burrow added with the Week 13 Pro Bowl festivities. It seems like a touchdown, pun intended. It really does seem like, all right, 18 games, two by weeks,

expanded roster, 13, everyone gets off, and then the Super Bowl. Ball holiday weekend. Do you think anyone will dispute that, Danny? Kavino? No. Is anyone going to say that's not a great idea?

No. And again, like I said, that's what everybody always wanted. Let's make it a national holiday. We should have that Monday off. This lines up perfectly where you could just still have off and still enjoy your Super Bowl and not worry about work the next day. So I think it's perfect. So Joe Burrow, not only Joe Cool, he's got the swag, he's got the style, he's likable,

but he's got the answers. So again, any thoughts? Danny Gene, you like it, music? Yeah, we especially raved about the holiday aspect of this when we were doing Sunday nights on the network because we were on live for the Super Bowl, remember? And you guys during that shift, we're saying,

man, it should be a national holiday tomorrow. I mean, everybody dreads that next day at work. You know, how much five-layer dip could you eat and not feel it the next day, right? you're boozing and schmoozing, eating wings like your Joey Chestnut. Would you have 200 wings, you slob? And then you have to go to work the next day? No, this, you get to celebrate with your A. Blinking Top Hat.

You get to enjoy your day off. President's Day weekend. I like it. Music. You like it? You feeling it? I think there's a lot going on in the world and in America that we can be divided over. But this has got to be the one thing we're all unified on. I'm trying to think what would be the problem, though? The extra buy week?

No, music brings up a great point. We fight about everything as a society. I haven't heard one person say, terrible idea. And it's about to get worse. No one's going, I would love to have work the Monday after the Super Bowl. That person doesn't exist. That actually raises an interesting question because there's always somebody, right? Nine out of ten doctors?

You're like, who's the one? Yeah, exactly. There's always somebody who didn't vote for Derek Jeter in the Hall of Fame or something. There's always one idiot, right? So what would be the problem, Rich? The extra. the extra time off? We keep adding too much football.

Like, who doesn't want more football? Who doesn't want these guys to get the proper rest so they don't have injuries? Who doesn't want that holiday weekend? And not only the other caveat, Kavino. There's something, though. Imagine if you made the Pro Bowl and those skills, things relevant, like mid-season, instead of the throwaway week after the Super Bowl or in between, like, no one wants that. Well, let's know it out there.

What's that famous meme? It's like, it's a meme of a stick or something like that. It's like, here's a stick. argue about it and people are really like debating it's a stick. It's not, it's more of a twig. You know, people will fight over everything and anything. I'm really curious to see what the problem is.

I don't think, and you said the extra game rich, I don't think any real football fan would complain about more football. Yeah. So I don't even see that being an argument or a solid one at least. And not only is Joe Burrow coming up with brilliant ideas. We'll give him the credit. Joe Burroughs hanging out at the white party. with Tom Brady and Livy Dunn and Jake Paul and, you know, Drake was there.

Every one of importance. I'm glad you brought up. I got to ask. You're the type of guy, Danny G., you know Kavino. He's the type of guy that so badly wants to be there. I totally do. Again, you need... You can park cars there.

You can hand out hors d'oeuvres. You know, that would probably happen. Someone would hand me their keys and I would be really insulted. But, and that's happened to me in real life so many times. I'm not even joking. Yeah, I'm not even joking. Dude, I was waiting for my car at a car wash. someone told me I missed the spot and handed me a towel.

I'm not even kidding you. True story. Racist. I know. But I do want to get to that white party. And if you don't know what we're talking about, Michael Rubin is the owner of fanatics. I became a fan of this dude from watching him on Shark Tank, believe it or not,

because he's one of those guest sharks trying to audition for Mr. Wonderful's job. Barbara Corcoran says she hates guest sharks because they're just really trying to figure out who the next shark is going to be. Is it going to be A-Rod? Is it going to be Michael Rubin? But he's the owner of fanatics. All the jerseys that you're rocking that you see in MLB, all the memorabilia, fanatics, hats,

jerseys, clothing, sports. And he throws this ridiculous invite-only white party 4th of July weekend. And it's almost nauseating to see the celebrity stroke fest of invites that are there. It's everybody from Joe Burrow to I mean, you got to be somebody who knows somebody. It was doing something big to get this invite.

The invite itself is an art piece done by some sassy artist. And each invitation's worth like $50,000 to $100,000. But you've got to be the hot dude in the moment to get this invite. So why wouldn't you want to be that? It'll never happen, but why not use that as motivation? We work in entertainment. If you're Doug who works as an electrician, yeah, I don't know how you're going to make your way there. Who?

And Doug, you're a great guy, and you probably make great money. But we work in entertainment. That would be awesome to get that invite. Keep dreaming, bro. Why not? You wouldn't want to go? I'd end up divorced. But you wouldn't want to go to it?

You know what I always, I roll my eyes at Hollywood elite, or I guess this would be sports elite mixed. with Hollywood Elite, like met gala's and stuff like that. Like, I'm not going anywhere where I got to wear a ridiculous outfit or a backless suit like Joe Burrow, but a party schmoozing and boozing with all the people you admire and talk about every day, who wouldn't want to be there? I know there's also speculation that it's a little bit of a weird thing going on. Yeah. But I don't see it that way.

I see it as like, yo, that's cool. And I would like to go. Did you see the white party that Donald Sterling through? that's a different one. That's a totally different one. It was a white party. Really white party. Let me ask Ryan music because

there are times where music would look so good in a flowing white button down. Would you wear pants or shorts? I'd probably go shorts. Oh, I can see Ryan in that. So here's my thing. If we're going to go pie in the sky

and I did get an invite, sure, I'd probably go. But on a much lower level, I remember the first time I did a Super Bowl remote and being there for the week leading up to the Super Bowl and when you walk into it as just like a random producer and there's even just small time stars there,

you're like, I'm not going to talk to any of these people. Yeah, you're just like stuck in the corner talking to the other producers that you already know. So it's like if I just out of the blue got an invite to the white party, I'm not going and hanging and starting up a conversation with Tom Brady or Kim Kardashian. So I'd probably be like, there's no point in me going. You're ruining the fantasy, man.

doing shots with Kim Kay. I'm doing shots with Brady. I got to ask for it in music because he works on the herd every day. On those moments where Colin does have like a Tom Brady in studio, is it, is it an awkward like, should I say how to Tom or not? Like, do you guys, like, what's the vibe when he has one of those A-listers on? I'm staying doing my job.

I'm not going. I'm not interjecting myself into situations I know I shouldn't be doing. I'm just going to start wearing white outfits around 4th of July weekend next year. see if people get the head manifestation yeah you gotta think it i mean look my goals are bigger than that but it's a cool invite rich it's a really cool invite i don't care who you are where you are if you don't look at that and and there's a part of you's like man i kind of wish i was there because it's the cool guys club and there's beautiful women everywhere and it's at this super swanky beachfront house of his you're just hating honestly it's like i think you're just mad that you're not that person i'm at least

willing to say, no, I wish I was there. I wish I was invited. I wish I was. Listen, I'll back you up on all the elite parties that I roll my eyes at. That is the one that I'm like, oh, that would be a cool thing to go to. By the way, next year, just wear all white on the 4th of July. And if anyone says, hey, Camino, where are you going? Just say you're going to Ruben's party.

Just don't tell them it's... Just don't tell him it's Rubin Stuttard's party. No, it's Ruben Cierras. Yeah. Yeah. You can get the invite to that, I bet. Yeah, I'm sure you guys have seen it. Your sports fans is Fox Sports Radio.
