Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an IHeart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
Starting point is 00:00:30 you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the ice. Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Winning on Clay is an art. The rallies are relentless. And at the French Open, only the toughest survive. I'd know. I competed there for decades. Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast for no-nonsense breakdowns of the biggest matches, the toughest players, and the moments that define Roland Garris. She can win.
Starting point is 00:01:21 She's an outsider to win the French fame. And she likes Clay. Listen, Lina Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now. And I actually can win on any service. Listen to the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games.
Starting point is 00:01:46 Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days I'd put on 10 pounds, I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where Sports Slice comes in.
Starting point is 00:02:20 I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves. Their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear. Listen to SportsSlice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slicalife-Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. Hey, thanks for listening to the Covino Enrich podcast. Be sure to catch us live every weekday from 5 to 7 Eastern, 2 to 4 Pacific on Fox Sports Radio.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Find your local station for Cavito and Rich at Fox SportsRadio.com or stream us live every day on the IHeartRadio app by searching FSR. Yo! What's up, everybody? Feeling good on a Friday. Let's go. Feeling great. Pump for the weekend. Pump for our vacation.
Starting point is 00:03:15 I wonder how Monty and Dan Byer are going to do next week. That's what I'm thinking about. I told you five innings, four runs. Right now, though, broadcasting live to Tyraq.com studio. Go, Tyrax.com. We'll help you get there in unmatched selection, fast-free free-roth hazard protection,
Starting point is 00:03:30 over 10,000 recommended installers. Tyraq.com, the way tire buying should be. Tyraq. And don't forget, after the show, Danny G's got the podcast up if you miss anything, and don't forget the Fox Sports Radio YouTube page. If you want to see what you hear, I'll be honest.
Starting point is 00:03:47 Once you watch Overpromised our video podcast, you'll say to yourself, why is this not a TV show every day? and I feel like it should be pretty soon. Yeah. From your lips to God's ears, Rich. Before we get back to the NBA, could I bring up one more thing?
Starting point is 00:04:02 And don't worry. It's not about love is blind or it's not about the trailer I saw for Temptation Island. Ooh, the hoties on that. By the way, you love trash TV, man. You love it. I think I just like hot girls on trash TV. 87799 on Fox, by the way, if you want to get lined up to play a game. quote me, going to win a C&R Swiggy.
Starting point is 00:04:25 Before we get back to the NBA, just want to say if one more person sends me the video of Juan Soto missing a fly ball in right field, it's spring training. I don't care. He's going to be awesome. I'm a Mets fan. I think it matters, bro. Don't give me this BS.
Starting point is 00:04:41 You want him to dive against the wall? As a Yankees fan, Jason Dominguez stinks in the outfield. I don't think he's going to magically become great once the season starts. So don't expect a lot from Monssoe as a defensive. player. Do you think I want Juan Soto diving against the wall? But you're saying it doesn't matter. It does matter. I think a lot of those things do matter. I know it's preseason, but it's not, like I said, he's going to turn it on and all of a sudden he's great. Spring training last year, you know who had the worst record? One of the worst records, a team called the Dodgers and another
Starting point is 00:05:10 team called the Yankees. Spring training means nothing. Someone also hit me up saying, it means that baseball is around the corner. We're 20 days away is what it means to me. Some A-hole hit me up. He's like, you know, look at Soto. He stinks. and Edwin Diaz got rocked. I'm like, again, for all we know, Edwin Diaz, the Mets closer, break out the Timmy Trumpets. What if he's just working on like a secondary pitch?
Starting point is 00:05:32 It's spring training. Stop it. Monty, you got to at least agree with that, no? Matters a little bit, bro. It is just spring training. Come on. The matter is very minimal. I agree.
Starting point is 00:05:46 My dumb friends that... The Yankees are getting closer to getting your boy in Glacius for third base because DJ Lemayhew can't. can't not ever be injured. That dude is forever injured. He's not with the Padres, though. So a minor league deal, it seems.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Oh, really? I don't know. I heard so. As of when? A couple days ago. Yeah. Remember I said spray paint your OMG signs? Right.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Yeah. Yeah, I must have saw an old TikTok video. Must have. Must have. Because this was like days ago. That's right. No, because I remember Rich saying it. Right.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Well, hey, back to the NBA. The intensity for the Lakers Nixon last night, had a playoff atmosphere. And it got us thinking that is this, Are the Lakers now in a position where when Luca and LeBron have clicked, that they now feel as though they're the team to beat? Or do you say, listen, OKC, you still 10 games better than everyone?
Starting point is 00:06:35 It's not all on LeBron's shoulders anymore, and you're seeing that. You know, he has someone else that he trusts, and both of these dudes make other players on the team better. And you saw that with Gabe Vincent hitting a key shot yesterday. You know, Danny G's believing in his boy Hayes now. And you were talking about him, Danny G. I didn't believe you, but what's the minute thing you're saying when he plays more than 20 minutes, they're good.
Starting point is 00:06:54 The Lakers are now 13 and 1 when Jackson Hayes has been in the lineup for 20 minutes or longer. And we were saying, you know, he only need a big guy, Danny. He was like, no, man, he got Jackson Hayes. He's good. A.D. was really impatient with Hayes' development because obviously Anthony Davis does not like to play the center position. He said that. Yeah. And so when the Lakers wanted him to play the center position, he's like, no, no, no, no,
Starting point is 00:07:17 either trade for any said out loud, we need to trade for a center. and Jackson Hayes was over here like, dude, I'm on the team. So now with AD gone, Jackson Hayes has stepped up. Steped up, eight points, but Luca, 32 points, LeBron, 31 points just yelling. And again, a game that goes to overtime like that, that was so fun to see last night. But even, like I said, Jalen Brunson, you know, he was trying so hard to even finish out that game. And that wasn't some BS wimpy injury. His ankle rolled all the way.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Have you ever seen an ankle go? all the way to the floor like that? And he got up, hit the free throws, and he wanted to stay. You could see he so badly was trying to walk it off. And the trainer went to rub it. You saw him like, don't even touch it. Yeah. I mean, he did walk off.
Starting point is 00:08:03 They did show him walking. So that was a good sign. But no, he rolled it on all kinds of ways. Yeah, but major, major win last night for the Lakers. You're seeing them, again, gel at just the right time. It's exciting. Not all games that exciting, but it's nice to see. and then the other side story is the whole confrontation
Starting point is 00:08:21 Oh, between LeBron and Stephen A. He looked at me as a father. Not as a player. He came to me as a father and I understand. I mean, the fact that that's a story, like, I get it. I mean, Stephen A, if you don't know what we're talking about, was confronted by LeBron, caught off guard. Said if you could do your best John boy,
Starting point is 00:08:42 it was something along the lines of leave my son out of this S, as if there's to say that, you know, if you're going to take shots at me, don't bring my son into this. But I'm very surprised that Stephen A didn't say as a broadcaster and as I got to covers the NBA.
Starting point is 00:09:00 It's my job. It's his job to cover anyone in the NBA. Maybe he went a little too far. That's up for debate, but I think he has every right to have an opinion on a man, a young man, but still a man,
Starting point is 00:09:15 that's on the Lakers. So, you know, LeBron bullying him around a little bit. But luckily Stephen A had Larry David as some backup muscle. Bro, you took the words right out of my mouth. I was going to say, the funniest takeaway I had. I was there with Larry David. I'm picturing afterwards. He had my back.
Starting point is 00:09:33 I picture afterwards Larry being like, what was that? What was that? Why did you got to talk to here? He came to. He's working. I can only picture it like if it were a curb episode. I see it. What would he say to Stephen A?
Starting point is 00:09:47 conversation of Stephen A is a star. Stephen A probably loves every second of this, but he's also torn because I'm sure he does feel a little bad. He is a father and he understands. But. But Brony hasn't been like, nobody's talking badly about Brony as a person. No, I think everybody likes Brony as a person. Everybody likes Brony. And you're rooting for the kid.
Starting point is 00:10:08 Yes. But this move does come with criticism. Of course it does. And let's not forget the tweet. Remember the tweet where he said his son was better than current players? Yeah. But I think there's context to all of this. Stephen A blurs that line of journalist and maybe crossed in the line sometimes, you know.
Starting point is 00:10:24 So. But I think LeBron, you know what is? Like, listen, I got two little kids. You're a dad. Danny G. You're a dad. When someone talks about your kids, it's, you know, you get all twisted because you're, you lose all sense, right? And I think it's the one spot where, you know how a lot of times when you watch like a movie about like, you know, like, you know, like,
Starting point is 00:10:47 FBI agents and all murder. Their weak spot is like, if you know their family, if you get to their family, that's their weak spot. Yeah, but it's not personal criticisms. These are basketball criticisms. That's the difference. You know, it's, I know it's basketball criticism, but when someone talks about your kid,
Starting point is 00:11:05 like if someone told me my kid stunk at Little League, I'd be like, yeah, that's great, but now I hate you. But again, he brought his son into the league. He did. There's so much to it that I don't think it's like a normal you guys. speaking about your kids in Little League. It is not the same. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:22 I think it's fair game. It would be like if my son one day worked for, you know, Fox Sports Radio. Here. And people like Rich Davis's son, not very good on the mic. And like, I'm like, Stephen A, what did you say? And at the same time, you got Charles Barkley criticizing Stephen A and like, there's a lot of drama going on in the NBA right now. And Kendry Perkins.
Starting point is 00:11:43 As far as, as LeBron, you know, step into Stephen A, remember the one instance. on live TV that morning where Stephen A was really going in hard on LeBron, almost like calling him a bad parent. That's what I'm saying. He blurs the line. Yeah. As a father, stop this. Yeah, he does. He blurs the line. Then this morning he's like, or things LeBron thought I said. No, no, you said it. Yeah, he was gaslighting in LeBron. So that was unfortunately the other story here when we should be talking about, man,
Starting point is 00:12:15 LeBron and Luca, which we did, but we have to acknowledge. that there was that drama all over social media today. That went super viral because you saw LeBron step out of basketball player. He wasn't defending his teammate. He was protecting his son. And I get that. But you also have to understand that journalists, and I use air quotes, journalists have to do their job.
Starting point is 00:12:37 I just, it feels genuinely like weirdly personal between these two. It does. On top of it too, which makes it like, because, yeah, it is a guy's son and whatever. but some of the criticisms of Brony James feel like it's going even further than it should just because it's LeBron James' son and thus you have to crank it up to 11 to get the reactions too and that's maybe fueling LeBron's like we've seen him start to take shots at media figures he hasn't usually taken before so it's a little embarrassing because you're a man at a certain point right and Brony has to be his own man and he's at the workplace and he's doing his best and everybody likes
Starting point is 00:13:15 Brani. But I mean, no matter what it is you do, you might garner criticism. You could own a restaurant and you get a bad Yelp review. If you want your parents to come in there and defend you, it's embarrassing. I wonder how Brony feels about that too, because exactly that. Like, he's got to be like, I don't want my dad stepping into it. That's my point. To do anything about this. I can stand for myself. And, you know, maybe it's, he's a rookie. He's just trying to find his way around the NBA. Maybe next year, though. I mean, we're radio personalities, right? Let's say we're doing a show and we're getting all this bad feedback, which we do sometimes, Right? Because they don't necessarily always agree with our opinions.
Starting point is 00:13:50 How embarrassing it would be if my mom was defending me? Leave my Stephen alone. I'll do one that we actually have. If Ian, if I and Eagle had to step in and defend Noah Eagle. Steven was a good one. Right? Like Noah Eagle shouldn't want to have to hear his dad defend it. I thought my mom was a pretty good example.
Starting point is 00:14:06 Leave my Stephen alone. I'd be embarrassed by that. I'll be honest. There are times where, I mean, my wife has never said anything. But there are times she reads something on social media about maybe. and she's like, I so badly want to say something. I'm like, yeah, but you know not to. Moncie, you've had some moments where you've said stuff
Starting point is 00:14:21 and people come, in my opinion, wrongly at you. Your family or boyfriend or anyone ever be like, yo, I want to say something. You're like, no, no. Most of them. Yeah. No, they all want to jump in. I'm like, just don't.
Starting point is 00:14:33 They're fine. It's not worth it. So then how do you think Brani feels? Right? Right. I don't disagree. I'm sure Brani was like, I really hate this spotlight that I'm in. But at the same time, he has probably the crowsy.
Starting point is 00:14:45 crazy utmost respect for his dad. He has to. Right. He has to. He's okay with it. So anyway, that happened to, and it does take away a little bit from an amazing night of basketball. Yeah. What are we going to sit up here?
Starting point is 00:15:01 This is what happens. You sit in the front of it. We might have to rumble, Larry. Be ready. I'm lamping. Lamping. So. How about Luca's 27-footer in overtime?
Starting point is 00:15:15 time. And the reason it really stood out to me, and Monsi, you'll appreciate this because of the one clipper back in the day, I used to love watching shoot the ball. Jamal Crawford. Yeah, I was like, who's sweet Lou? But Jamal Crawford. Because he shot that rainbow shot. Almost like what you got to do at a theme park to get the ball into those little hoops that are oversized. That rim is definitely not a proper shape. Crooks. And sometimes when Luca does those quick shots, they go straight up. And I'm like, you don't even really see them release it. Yeah. And that was one of those shots. And when it fell in, did you see the net? The net swished all the way on top of the rim. Speaking of Luca, right?
Starting point is 00:15:53 Luca comes to the Lakers. The whole narrative changes on the team. People are now comparing LeBron to his MVP seasons. Now LeBron in the MVP conversation. The chance last that MVP, Coach of the Year. These are all great things, but they're all because of Luca. Let's be real about that.
Starting point is 00:16:10 You know, he was bringing out the best in everybody on this team. Well, that trade, energized. the entire league. Without a doubt. The Lakers were in a good spot. Now they're in a potential NBA finals path. I'm so intrigued to see how the experience and veteran leadership of LeBron and Luca
Starting point is 00:16:28 together with the young key players we're seeing emerge, how does that match up against OKC? A less experienced team. I mean, think about it. Last year, Luca went to the NBA finals. LeBron's been there almost 10 times, right? we're talking about
Starting point is 00:16:44 an experienced team versus one with not but you would argue the inexperienced team is maybe a better team so that's gonna really bring some fun to the Western Conference
Starting point is 00:16:54 and let's not forget you still got the Nuggies and you still got Steph who has been rejuvenated by Jimmy Butler Absolutely and did you see now listen
Starting point is 00:17:03 99 out of 100 people I'd say oh that S is lucky but when he took that half court shot I was like that skill yeah he's like the one He's the one human where you're like, no, that wasn't lucky. In an odd way, it's like, no, that was step-right.
Starting point is 00:17:18 I love the way he turned around and kind of skipped down the court, too. Oh, yeah. No, no, no. But he just really turns it on when the game is on. I saw him. He's always making circus shots. I get it. But I saw him miss 10 three-point shots in a row warming up.
Starting point is 00:17:31 And then he comes out and does stuff like that. So amazing to see. All right. So some great basketball guys. It's the example to use with your kids. If your kids, I got little kids that are playing. and, you know, softball, baseball, all their little sports, when I teach them about how you need to practice,
Starting point is 00:17:49 like I'll throw my son five ground balls. And he's like, okay, I'm like, no, no. You want to get good, buddy? We're going to do 100 ground balls. Right. And I told my kids the other day, I told the dad movie, I go, hey, look at this guy. I pulled up a Steph Curry highlight.
Starting point is 00:18:01 I go, this guy shoots thousands of shots a week. He doesn't take five shots and then gets a foot roll-up. Right, a pat on the back. He shoots. And he's not that big. He shoots thousands of shots. We forget the discipline. So when you see Steph turn around against a defender
Starting point is 00:18:19 makes a half-court shot, that is not luck. That is thousands of shots. And that's a great lesson for little children. It's not practice makes perfect. It's perfect practice makes perfect. You never hear that? So great basketball, heating up. Thank your friend that tipped you off like Danny G. did last night.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Yo, guys, you better be watching. Because really, you don't want to miss games like that. So great to see. Now, we're giving away prizes today. Starting point is 00:20:30 Hey, it's us, the Jonas brothers, and guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, huge news? We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas, we invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty.
Starting point is 00:20:43 Yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts We're starting a trend. But this one's extra special. So how did we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it
Starting point is 00:20:59 one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast. We could call in and say, hey Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
Starting point is 00:21:19 But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. Let me tell you. The world famous, Kavino and Rich. I do not lie when I say, this is the most fun two hours of my day. Listen, I enjoy spending time with my kids and coaching and, you know, having fun.
Starting point is 00:25:00 Kids. Having fun with my wife. Little Baron. Little kids. Why am I getting into Trump mode? Because you must be watching a slew of his videos or something. Jeez. I hear it.
Starting point is 00:25:12 Trust me, I've talked to this guy for 20 years. The children. I get down when he gets into that. Or if I watch too much Sebastian Manuscalco. Right. Yeah, he's like, eh. Why do we do this? It happens.
Starting point is 00:25:24 Look, it happens. We're going to play a game in a second. I just want to point out two things, one that bothers me and one that made me laugh. I see headlines every day. No, who needs to go away? Bad baby. That's the cash-me-outside girl. What does that mean?
Starting point is 00:25:39 How has this training? wreck from Dr. Phil a decade ago turned into a hip-hop star and OnlyFans girl that's made millions. It's like proving that all the wrong qualities could get you somewhere. So I don't want to hear anything more about Bad Baby. You're the biggest hypocrite ever. You started off this show talking about how it was great that flight attendants and professionals in the NYPD should have OnlyFans. But this one who leans into it, she's the worst? Yes.
Starting point is 00:26:05 Number two, speaking of airlines, you're way to be consistent. I know it hasn't been a great year for the airlines. Listen, there's been some incidents. But did you see the Southwest story where there's a woman that was running up and down the aisle naked? I did. Like, imagine you're on the plane. And all of a while, too, they said. Yo, Monzi, she got the jubboes out and she's like bouncing around.
Starting point is 00:26:25 Like, imagine you're there with your kids. Like, yeah, we're going to visit Grandma down in Florida. Did those count as her two carry-ons? And with that, it's time to play a game. Let's go. Yeah. Sports media and athletes are quoted a lot. For me?
Starting point is 00:26:39 Stars. Attract other stars. Here comes the high. Hot take quotes. Andy Weed should step down as head coach. This is not a one game we ask him because they lost. In this game, you guess the talking head. You can quote me on that.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Quote me. All right, here we go. Happy Friday. In this game, you need to tell me which blabbermouth said it. I love this game, Danny, because you know, no matter who you are, man, woman, young, old. We all see social media clips. You're walking past a TV. You'll see something on FS1 or ESPN or listening to a Fox Sports Radio podcast.
Starting point is 00:27:12 And some shall you, who said that? Sometimes you are a sports fan. These are in your algorithm for sure. No doubt. All right, let's meet the contestants. God's gift to divorce dad rock, Steve Covino. Disturbed, celebrating 25 years this weekend. Out on brands.
Starting point is 00:27:28 The sickness. I've been down with the sickness for 25 years. To the right of him. The first really successful broadcaster out of Syracuse, Rich Davis. Only one, right? Only one out of Syracuse. And in for Dan Byer. is a woman who had Yassil Pueig,
Starting point is 00:27:44 ask her for an Alaskan Airlines like twerk. Monceebelano. Yes. Imagine if you were Mrs. Pueg. Oh, no. No, no. All right, let's go to the studio lines. We're going to see who's playing for C&R stainless steel Swiggy.
Starting point is 00:27:59 All right, Moncee, I'll use you for this. Would you love to travel to beautiful Las Vegas, Nevada? Always. Burlington, Vermont. Okay. Louisville, Kentucky. Okay. Claremont, Florida.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Okay. Or Boise, Idaho. Well, obviously, we're going with Las Vegas. Obviously for you. Thunderdown other. Cigarette smoker. That is Daniel. What up, Dee? Oh, what's up, Dee? Hey, man.
Starting point is 00:28:19 Hey, what's going on? Damn, Daniel. Daniel, what do you do for her living there in Ovi? He does only dance. I am a liquor and wine salesperson. Ooh, the hookup. All right, cool, Daniel. Here are the rules for quote me.
Starting point is 00:28:35 The first contestant with two correct dancers is the champ. If there's a tie, I have two overtime, fill in the quotes. to go. Your name is your buzzer, but you do have to wait until all three possible answers are read. If there's two wrong answers in a row, we move on to the next quote. Are you ready? We're ready. Let's get it on. All right, guys. The first quote. Uh, oh, I got to pull it up here. Talk amongst yourselves. So I have pulled this up. Oh. So, uh, have any good plans this weekend? Uh, yeah. My kids' little league pictures are tomorrow. Cute. And since I'm a coach, I had to make sure I got my shape up and trim my beard a little bit.
Starting point is 00:29:10 Is it weird that I care how I love to the kids' days? because this is about you. Moncie, I'm Coach Rich. I'm the number one coach on Fox Sports Radio. It makes me think of coaches in our Little League photo. They had cigarettes like sticking out in their pocket. Yeah, mustache. Yeah, mustaches.
Starting point is 00:29:25 Moor in the photo. They didn't care. Nicely done there. Thank you. All right. Here comes the first quote, guys. Steph Curry is the best great player we've ever seen. That's a great shooter.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Or the greatest shooter who's a great player. But is he the greatest player of all time? No. You can't be the greatest player of all time. all time and we have to hide you on defense. All right guys, quote me. Ooh, me. Was that A, Calvin Washington, B, Doug Gottlieb, or C, Dan Patrick? Monty. Monty. Monty. A. Calvin Washington.
Starting point is 00:29:56 No. Oh, you were so confident. He literally said that yesterday. Something along those lines. All right. Covino. Code for the steel. Doug Gottlie. Yes, sir. Yeah. Covino on the board. Nice. But is he the greatest play? Let's hear it. Let's hear it.
Starting point is 00:30:13 Oh, let's hear how it sounded. Steph Curry's the best great player we've ever seen. That's a great shooter. Or the greatest shooter, who's your great player? But is he the greatest player of all time? No. No. You can't be the greatest player of all time, and we have to hide you on defense.
Starting point is 00:30:29 That was the tell when I was listening to it. No, Scott. As soon as you said, no. No. No, Scott. Duck, duck, duck, duck. Good job, Covino. He's on the board as we go to round two.
Starting point is 00:30:41 All right, here's the quote. Do I think Max Crosby has any real influence over what the Raiders do? Absolutely not. I think there's a better chance that Max Crosby has traded than the Raiders listen to Max Crosby on who should play quarterback in Vegas. Quote me. Was that A, Rob Parker, B, Jason Smith, or C, Ben Mallor? Monty.
Starting point is 00:31:05 Moncy. B, Jason Smith. No. Rich, Rich, you're terrible. Rich for the steel. I feel like that's something Rob Parker would say. You're both losers. That was Ben Mallor.
Starting point is 00:31:19 Do I think Mack Crosby has any real influence over what the Raiders do? Absolutely not. I think there's a better chance Max Crosby's traded than the Raiders listen to Max Crosby on who should play quarterback in Vegas. And hours later, the Raiders gave Max Crosby one of the richest contracts in the NFL. Did you do that just to bust the chops of your buddy, Ben Mallor? Maybe. You can hear about it on the fifth hour podcast.
Starting point is 00:31:43 Perfect. All right, we move to round three. Covino's the only one on the board so far. And by the way, Daniel, you just got to say your name and guess. Yes. All right, guys. Third quote here. I'm like, man, when Steph is off the floor, this is pre-Jimmy Butler.
Starting point is 00:31:59 I'm like, this is a boring-ass team. This is a bad watch. And I said, I'd bring in Jimmy Butler just for energy and juice. He'll get everyone all worked up. Quote me. is that A, Paul Pierce B, Monica McNutt
Starting point is 00:32:14 Or C, Colin Cowherd Daniel I'll go Paul Pierce No Rich Rich Stars, Colin Yes, sir
Starting point is 00:32:29 Oh, Rich is on the board This is how that sounded I'm like, man, when Steph is off the floor This is pre-Jimmy Boller I'm like this is a boring-ass team This is a bad watch And I said, I'd bring in Jimmy Butler just for energy and juice. He'll just get everybody all worked up.
Starting point is 00:32:48 You know, there's certain key words when you read these. Like, I could hear Colin saying juice. I can hear it. So you got to pay close attention. All right. And I'm glad you at least got in there, Daniel. We go to round four, both CNR on the board. All right.
Starting point is 00:33:02 All right, here's the fourth quote guys. Barkley does television. He'd never be accused of knowing television. That would be Ernie Johnson who handles that responsibility. Maybe Charles Barkley should look at his rundowns from time to time. Even though they're an NBA show as opposed to a show that talks about an abundance of things, some stories get a higher profile than others because they resonate with the viewing public. Quote me.
Starting point is 00:33:25 Who me? Was that A. Stephen A. Smith. B. Kendrick Perkins. Or C. Richard Jefferson. Daniel. I'll go A. Stephen A. Smith is correct. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:33:39 The fact of the matter. And here's what that sounded like. Barkley does television. He'd never be accused of knowing television. That would be Ernie Johnson who handles that responsibility. Maybe Charles Barkley should look at his rundowns from time to time. Even though they are an NBA show as opposed to a show that talks about an abundance of things, some stories get a higher profile than others because they resonate with the viewing public.
Starting point is 00:34:05 I mean, Stephen A's right about that. You got to talk about what's hot. That's just how it is. Truthfully. No one wants to hear about a boring game last night. I mean, the simple fact that we were talking about, you know, Knicks, Lakers last night, two big market teams, exciting game. OKC just doesn't have the like out of that juice.
Starting point is 00:34:23 The juice. Yeah, you know. All right, guys, we go to overtime. Moncie, I'm sorry you're not on the board. So you're out here. I gave up real quick. All right, three-way tie between Rich, Covino and Daniel. And guys, here's overtime.
Starting point is 00:34:35 You need to finish the quote. Oh, I love that. Yeah. All right. Okay. Whoever's closest? No, no, no, you finish the quote. You get multiple choice here.
Starting point is 00:34:42 Can we try to... No, you can't finish it on your own. Finish this quote. Like mad lips? Finish this quote from Damar de Rosen. Okay. The refs were terrible. Terrible as bleep.
Starting point is 00:34:55 Dot, dot, dot, dot. A, it's as simple as that. Oh, terrible is when they forget to put the hot sauce in your Taco Bell bag. No? You got to let him read the answer. Yeah, you got to let me read the... Disqualified. Yeah, the three possible finishes.
Starting point is 00:35:07 Yeah, Rich is disqualified. All right, here we go. The reps were. terrible. Terrible as bleep. A, it's as simple as that. B, I don't even want to play tomorrow or C, but you didn't hear that from me. Daniel. Daniel for the win. C. C? No. Covino for the steel and the win. B. No, you're both bluevers. All right, we go to the final, we go to the final overtime quote. All right, finish this quote about Brunson for Carl Anthony Towns.
Starting point is 00:35:41 It's next man up. He's a huge part of our team. We've been playing with grit and, A, deserve a break against the clippers. B, all need to score 10 extra points. Or C,
Starting point is 00:35:54 have to go out there and do it again. Daniel. Daniel for the win. What's that? C. Yes. We are mailing. Daniel.
Starting point is 00:36:08 Daniel. Nice. Yes, sir. Earned. He earned it. Daniel in Las Vegas on your liquor runs, you will be holding a shiny new CNR stain the steel Swiggy. Nice.
Starting point is 00:36:19 Congrats, buddy. With that big win, he no longer has to do his only dance pitch. I know. Hey, Danny G. If other people listening want to qualify for Swiggy, you still giving them away if they leave a nice comment? For sure. Yeah, we're going to get back to reading some of those five-star reviews.
Starting point is 00:36:35 But go to Apple Podcast and type in Covino and Rich. I'm sure you already subscribe if you do, don't. If you do, if you don't do. Yeah, wait, stop, reverse that. And, yeah, write a nice review and leave your email address. And I randomly email people and put them on our mailing list. We're not above bribery is really what to come down to them. Oh, it's straight bribery.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Leave a nice review. We might send you something. Monty Belonius. Yes. What are you? Monty, you were terrible at that day. I really was. So here's what's so funny.
Starting point is 00:37:04 I swear Calvin Washington said something really similar to that. And I was here the last two nights working that. And I swear Jason Smith said something really similar to the back. I need cameras. I need cameras on everybody because she was so proud and certain that it was telling you. Remember the one question? She had her hand up. I think she twerked a little bit, too.
Starting point is 00:37:26 I sure did. The best one was where Monce was like, it was Dr. Phil. I'm like, he wasn't even an answer. Like, what are you doing? I was so confident. And then I quickly just made me. Retreated. Yeah, quickly made me sit down and rethink.
Starting point is 00:37:40 my thoughts. All right, guys. So a lot of NFL news today, like former Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup, who abruptly retired last offseason, while he intends to make a comeback, he is just 29. Bill's linebacker, Terrell Bernard, has agreed to terms on a four-year, $50 million contract extension. The commanders have released two-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jonathan Allen. After failing to find a trade partner, he was with the team for eight years. The Dolphins restructured linebacker Bradley Chubbs contract to create $16.3 million in salary cap space. In college football, Michigan cornerback, Will Johnson will not participate in Pro Day on March 21st because of a minor hamstring injury. He is expected to fully be cleared and have a private workout for NFL teams on April 14th.
Starting point is 00:38:22 In baseball, Mariners pitcher George Kirby is being shut down due to shoulder inflammation. His MRI didn't show any structural damage, so the Mariners are taking it week to week. In the NHL, the Boston Bruins have agreed to trade Brad Marshan to the Florida Panthers. And in women's college hoops today, the big 10 quarter finals, USC defeated Indiana, 84 79, Juju Watkins, 31 points and 10 rebounds. Damn. I know. Oklahoma defeated Kentucky, 69 to 65.
Starting point is 00:38:48 That's still the big 10. And then the SEC quarter final, South Carolina, topped Vanderbilt 84 to 63. Last I'll tell you, did you guys hear the story about Arizona State running back, Cam Scataboo being sued by a former teammate? No. So there's a story right now that a teammate is suing him because during the season, the teammate was driving a golf car and Cam jumped on it and it caused the golf cart to fall over and then the guy got injured.
Starting point is 00:39:15 So he was originally suing Arizona State now has added Cam to the lawsuit, but they can't find Cam like to serve him papers. And so a lawyer said that the judge granted him permission to serve him papers on a local newspaper, like to put a notice out. Oh, wow. If they cannot get a hold of him because he keeps moving around. Easy to try to sue a guy that's about to sign his first NFL contract, right? But the fact that they're like, you could do it in a local newspaper. They're like, what? They're not doing that yet.
Starting point is 00:39:43 But that's last case scenario. A newspaper notice that you're being sued. Thank you, Monty. By the way, one last story. I don't care about facts. I just want speculation. Sure. Who cares about facts?
Starting point is 00:39:53 I saw some social media buzz of something Kavino said maybe about a month ago. Aaron Rogers want to stay put on the East Coast. Giants, Aaron Rogers? Is there any truth to that buzz? So it's funny that you say that today Doug Gottlieb spoke to Mark Dominic, and that's who Mark Dominic was putting Aaron Rogers with the Giants. It could be interesting. Like at first it was like, why would you want to go to?
Starting point is 00:40:16 Well, the story of Stafford, they were throwing money his way, and he actually took less to stay in L.A. Yeah, because he didn't want to go anywhere. He was just trying to get respect. And that's exactly what we were saying. Like, why would he want to leave there? His family's all set up. He's got a few years left.
Starting point is 00:40:31 He's going to want to stay here. and Aaron Rogers is already in New York. And he already said he loves the city. He won. He did win fans over. He did play that card right. And you and I also talked about how we often downplay that side of an athlete where are they happy? Is their family happy?
Starting point is 00:40:47 The Staffords live in a beautiful mansion in Hidden Hills, 20 minutes from here. Do you think they want to pull their kids out of a school district? Kelly Stafford's got a podcast of his career too. Yeah. I mean, he wants to be out here. He won a Super Bowl here. So Aaron Rogers, John. Giants could get interesting.
Starting point is 00:41:04 We got more Kavino and Rich next. And plus, what to watch this weekend in the world of fighting, sports, TV, streaming, weekend hobnobbing is next. Hey, it's us, the Jonas brothers. And guess what? We have some big news. What's the news, next? Huge news. We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
Starting point is 00:41:23 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to a... We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, a wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special. So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
Starting point is 00:41:37 I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this. We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
Starting point is 00:41:57 where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title. for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Starting point is 00:42:15 Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform?
Starting point is 00:42:35 We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. Starting point is 00:43:02 Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
Starting point is 00:43:50 because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth? Are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. a good person. Join me, Keir Gaines, as we have real conversations about healing, growth,

Starting point is 00:45:12 The divorce dad rock ambassador, Steve Kavino. That's true. I am. Angry Dad Rock is my specialty, aside from, of course, you know, being lazy and watching baseball and last night the Lakers, the L.A. Lucas. Covino and Rich on Fox Sports Radio, timestamp for real, whether you like disturbed or not, Perfet, playing some disturbed the sickness. 25 years ago
Starting point is 00:45:33 today. It came out. Yeah, 25 years ago today it came out. This was everything on the radio. Oh, man, I remember when this came out. I bumped it like for an hour straight. 25 years ago today and they're celebrating it on Turbo 41. Listen out for me on 3.6M.
Starting point is 00:45:51 But it's always a pleasure to be here on Fox Sports Radio. And we do it every Friday. We got some weekend hobnobbing. but first, just want to remind you that we're live from the Tyraq.com studio. Don't have the right team on the court. Express Employment professionals can help. Starting point is 00:46:20 Living for the weekend. Your winning bets for talking points if you get stuck socializing. You ever done anything dangerous? You ever dance for the devil and the pale moonlight? That is dangerous. Friday brings us. Weekend Hobnobby.
Starting point is 00:46:35 You know, my apologies. I also have to let you know about the Express Pro Pro of the week. How could I forget? And I don't, this is a tough one. Are you going, uh, go Luca or LeBron? I think it's the guy that makes everybody better, including the coach. I don't think anyone was saying MVP LeBron or coached a year, Reddick until Luca got it. So Luca, you, my friend.
Starting point is 00:46:58 of the Express pros, pro of the week. They have been unstoppable. It seems to see him. 32 points last night in 43 minutes. With a sweet win in overtime. 113-109 over the Knicks. Exciting game in March, like we said earlier. So props to Luca.
Starting point is 00:47:16 And when he was talking to rooks after the game, fresh fade. You see, I feel like he came straight from the barbershop, too. I wasn't really checking out the fade. I was checking out rooks. But okay. Okay. I don't blame you.
Starting point is 00:47:27 Just kidding. All right. Weekend hot. Bobnob and what to watch, not only in the world of sports, but entertainment. What do you got, buddy, dude? All right. I'm going to start it off with, well, you know, Big Sexy, Chocolate Cheeks. Ryan, that works here?
Starting point is 00:47:38 Who? Big sexy. Oh, yeah, of course. He was talking about Daredevil and how great it was. I'm like, yeah, yeah, but then he came in the next day. He's like, yo, dude, it's really good. You got to check it out. So maybe I will.
Starting point is 00:47:49 Daredevil born again on Disney Plus. Now, for the Danny McBride fans and Adam Devine, I really do like both of them. Righteous Gemstone Season 4 on Max. Oh. There's something called Plankton the Movie. If you're a SpongeBob guy. That's on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:48:10 Is that new or what? Because I'll check it out. Plankton the movie. And for you fight fans, you got Pereira, Ancolaev, and Justin Gaci fighting. UFC 313 is this weekend. So enjoy your fighting.
Starting point is 00:48:25 And of course, Rich, overpromised. Episode 83, as we mentioned before, our brand new bonus pod is available. Are you watching the Love is Blind Weddings like Moncey and I are? Yeah. Love is Blind Weddings. That's today. You can check that out. Now, if you love all the clips you see this guy on social media, if he's in your algorithm, a new special with comedian Andrew Shulls on Netflix called Life. You're not a fan? You are a fan?
Starting point is 00:48:52 I'm a fan of his comedy. His haircut bothers me. He's not enough faded. I mean, I know he's going for that. Fade not strong enough for Kavino's liking. But Andrew Scholl is very funny. So life is on Netflix. Same with the weddings on Love is Blind. Now, I've talked about this show for a while.
Starting point is 00:49:14 It's done. Season one, if you need something to binge and, you know, NBA or fights aren't really tickling your fancy, I promise you paradise on Hulu. All eight episodes are done now. catch up get ready for season two Sterling K. Brown Sterling K. Brown. It's a great show. But that last episode, man, I don't know. What?
Starting point is 00:49:35 Episode 8 was Are you serious right now? Is that right? Can I show though? It was good. But the last episode, I was like, can I save everyone time? Because part of this is telling you what not to watch. Zero Day with Robert De Niro is terrible. I watched all six waiting for like,
Starting point is 00:49:51 what is it going to get good? And the answer is, guys, never. Rich did the research for you. I did the homework assignment. You don't have to watch it. I promise you. It's terrible. And if you want to watch something with the kids, Despicable Me 4 is now streaming on Netflix.
Starting point is 00:50:05 And a show on Disney Plus. I mentioned this before. Let me mention it again. Win or lose from the creators of Inside Out. It teaches kids a little bit about sports, teaches them a little bit about life. It takes each character. Kavino in each episode of the series is about a different character.
Starting point is 00:50:25 and it all sort of comes together. The umpire, the kid playing Little League, all the stuff, and it's a lot of fun. Win or lose on Disney Plus. Danny G., anything on your radar this weekend? Thumbs up on that winner, Lewis. That's a good little series there. Yeah, besides 1923 and Love is Blind,
Starting point is 00:50:41 some NBA action to pay attention to tomorrow. Lakers at the Celtics, that's tomorrow night. Oh, big one. And then Sunday, daytime game, morning 10 a.m. for us on the West Side. Nuggets at OKC. That's the Western Conference Battle. Yeah, that's going to be a good one.
Starting point is 00:50:55 Yeah, I feel like, do you think the Lakers can take OKC, man? I do. Really? Yeah, if they stay hot with their shooting and their defense is on point the way it has been in this little win streak here, yeah, man. Not disrespect to other teams, but the Western Conference doesn't it feel like it should be OKC, Denver, Golden State, and the Lakers? Don't you feel like that's what it should be? And by the way, if you want some ridiculous action that's far-fetched but awesome, Reacher season three is out on Amazon Prime. It's pretty good.
Starting point is 00:51:24 If you like Reacher, if you like big hunky dudes that beat everyone up, your lady might like it too. So enjoy your Reacher. Enjoy your NBA. And again, UFC 313. Catch us on Overpromised on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page. And have a good one. Arriva Darci, baby.
Starting point is 00:51:40 See you in the Promise Land. Goodbye, guys. Hey, guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what?
