Yeah, we were just talking about this. There's so much negativity out. there. I don't even want to watch TV in October and November. Oh, my lord. You'll watch sports times. Everybody always talks about how the economy is. You said something during the break. You went to get your car fixed and they're like, sorry, three weeks,

places packed. You go to a restaurant any day of the week. And it's like, there's a line to get in. I don't know. Maybe it's just California, but... 61% of Americans are in the stock market. 158 million people. It's at 41,000. Don't tell me the economy's terrible. It may not be great. Don't tell me it's terrible. inflation down,

unemployment law. But that's what you do. You fearmonger. You'd say the world is ending unless you ride with me, you got to back me. Listen to me. And, you know, that's kind of where we are. It's not pretty. No. So Jordan Love's going to sign a contract here for the Packers very, very quickly.

I'm reading a couple stories here on the Bleacher Report. It looks like it's pretty close. They're working on it. And I would love to see about eight more starts. But, you know, I trust the Packers. They do quarterbacks well. But here's the thing about Jordan Love. Green Bay maybe knows and maybe they don't.

but we don't know exactly, exactly what he is yet. We know he's talented. But what is really interesting is that the Packers, according to PFF, have about the 13th best roster in the league. So we didn't have the Philadelphia roster, the San Francisco roster, where we question whether or not he's winning the game or the roster's winning the game. Right? Like the Niners, that roster, Detroit's roster, stacked, Kansas City.

That's not what Green Bay's roster is. And I looked at the schedule this morning and what is really cool about Jordan Love and the Packer schedule. Take out Matt Stafford. Week 5. Outside of that, he basically faces the entire schedule is one of his peers. I mean, Tua, is he great? Or is it the coach? Purdy.

Is he great? Is it the roster in Shanahan? C.J. Stroud, one great rookie year. Trevor Lawrence, one great year. J. Hertz. one great year. We don't know what Jalen Hurts is yet. We don't know.

I don't really know. We know Stafford's great. But if you look at this, we're going to have a real sense of what Jordan Love is at the end of the year. He's facing all of his peers. He gets to face Caleb Williams twice. You know, that's a game I mean. Anthony Richardson, Will Levis. They're all super talented, but they're young, so we don't know what they are.

So this is not a schedule that's got like Lamar, Alan, Mahalms, guys that are clearly better than him or rosters that are clearly better. He's facing a lot of – he's facing himself, a lot of good rosters and a lot of talented quarterbacks, but we're not really sure if they're going to be great. And that's where I am with Jordan Love, really, really talented for about an eight, nine game stretch. I don't know if he's going to be great. I think there's a real opportunity. again, the kid says the right thing. Every time he's asked a question at the podium,

he's got a Dak Prescott quality. You know, that Brady quality, always good at the podium. But really interesting, if you look at Green Bay schedule, how it fares. All his peers, one week after another. So most of the time when it comes to a football coach, there's like one opinion. Andy Reid is great.

Any other opinion that. that you're an idiot like we know he's great right uh and there's and there's guys i don't even need to mention their names and be mean-spirited they just they're over their skis like we saw one in the NFL last year out west over your skis but generally you can have one opinion works the same in college and nick sabin great uh you know texas the last 20 years had a lot of coaches that weren't great you usually have one opinion steve sarkis and the coach of texas is one of few coaches in pro or college football, you can have a strong opinion, pro or con, and they're both right.

I like Sark. I know Sark. But you can have the opinion that, and Nick Saban said yesterday, what kind of tickles me, all these people talking about Texas always ran the conference they were in. They're not going to run the SEC, which, by the way, I agree. I think Bama, Georgia, and Texas will run the. SEC. But you can be either side with Sark. Either side. I'll give you an example. The critics. Well, he was fired at USC and couldn't get his act together personally. You're right.

Hey, one 10-win season, win the big games, pal. All right. You can't right on that one too. Or you can say he was Pete Carroll's best offensive coordinator. Washington was 0 and 12, and he turned him around in a season and a half. He is arguably the first, second or third, best recruiter as a head coach in college football. And, oh, by the way, the Texas Longhorns program was a tire fire. In the 11 years previous to start getting there, they won 10 games or more once. And that's a huge brand. Since he's arrived, they've been better in every season.

He took them to the playoff. They are stacked at multiple positions, and they are completely relevant as a recruiting machine. All of those are true. He is a great recruiter, a great offensive mind, with tremendous energy. And he's got to win more big games, and his teams at times outplay other teams and lose. Sometimes they're a little situationally ill.

For the record, Kyle Shanahan has been a little situationally iffy, and Andy Reid got clobbered for years in Philadelphia. In late games, he couldn't manage the clock. I think coaches over time that works itself out. It's like fumbles in the NFL. Some years you have a lot. Some years you don't. I don't think there's any science to fumbles or recovering them. So I think you can go both ways on Sarkin.

He's one of the few coaches. You can have a strong opinion, pro or con. They're both kind of right. He's at the SEC Media Day. I think Alabama, Georgia are the best teams along with Texas in that conference. And here's Sark. In this conference, you've got to have depth. If you don't have depth and everybody wants to talk about the O&D line, yes, that's vitally important.

And I think we've got great depth there. You've got to have depth at quarterback. You've got to have depth at running back. You have to have depth at safety. You have to have depth across the board. And for us to be able to sit here and say this is the deepest team we've had, probably the most talented team we've had in my four years here, I can unequivocally say that.

Now, I will tell you that I tend to root for certain stories. And I'll tell you what I'm rooting for. I don't necessarily think it's going to happen, but in both cases, it could be true. I kind of want Oregon to win the Big Ten, because it'll freak everybody out. Here comes the interloper. They're coming from out west. They can't handle the physicality of the Big Ten. And then Oregon beats Ohio State and Eugene runs the table.

and Oregon could do it. Don't think they will win the Big Ten. I think they'll finish second. But that would be good for my business, the interesting business. And I want to see Texas win the SEC. Because the SEC is very tribal, very insular. Here comes Texas from the old soft, squishy Big 12. And if they go into the SEC and win it.

So I am this year, I try not to root. I would love to see Oregon and Texas go into these new conferences. They both are stacked at the NIL, stack with NFL talent. be honest. If a West Coast team goes into the Big Ten and finishes above Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State, that's a great college football story. And if Texas goes into Georgia-Bama territory and wins it,

that's incredible for the sport. And I've said this for year. I love college football. I root for interesting. Texas going into the SEC and kicking arse is awesome. The last time a college football game got a massive NFL rating, USC against Texas. Texas is a massive brand in college football.

Smack dab right in the middle of the country. Got a kind of a Pac-12 cool feel, an SEC feel, but all Texas as well. Jay Mack, Eric Musselman's going to be joining us in the last hour of the show today. Albert Breer is right around the corner. What do you got plan for the big weekend? How is this a big weekend?

Well, I have a... Oh, you have a big weekend. Well, I'm not going to get into... that I've got something called. I've got a party that I will actually, it's on the beach out east, I'll wear sunglasses. Are you impressed that I didn't ask you about it? I'm waiting for a good moment of weakness where you'll just tell me about it. I've been told the party I'm going to is catered.

Is this one of those parties like young, hot people or is it like an old person party? Young, hot people? Yeah. It's a party with attractive people and lobster. It's very beachy and very northeast. It's in like Boston. I'm not going to get into that. But you're not doing anything this weekend?

You know, schedule's kind of wide open. We got our last regular season game for the Grey Foxes. We're undefeated. We'll win. You know, my family gets back in town, which is nice. Probably go to the beach. It's going to be like 80 degrees. Nothing too spicy.

I thought we talked a lot of Chiefs this summer, you know, because they're not going to win the Super Bowl. It's going to be a letdown. So we'll just get out of the way now. The Chiefs, obviously, on the hunt for the NFL's first three-peed in the Super Bowl era.

You know, they've got Hollywood Browns, Xavier Worthy. And although the first round pick has missed sometime this spring with the hamstring injury, that's worthy. Mahomes said he won't be treated with kid gloves. There's no, he's going to have to be ready to go. We got a lot of competition on this offense. Brett Veach and Coach He did a great job bringing a lot of competition in. And Xavier, I mean, he got a lot of mental work in these last few weeks that he had during OTAs and minicamp. But it's time to go now.

And, I mean, y'all saw with Rashid last year and some of the throwing up days he had. I mean, we're going to push you to the limit and prepare yourself to be ready to go for the season. And that's not just him. That's everybody has to have that mentality when they come into camp. Listen, if the kid hits and Rishi Rice, after some suspension comes back, they do have two viable receivers. And last year, most of the year they did it without one. So if Rishi Rice, who got better, it felt like, throughout the course of the season, Travis, Kelsey, Rishi Rice, and Pacheco's always been good, we like him. And if this kid hits.

And again, I'm talking 65 catches, three touchdowns. He didn't have to be. 65, that's how to be a damn good season. Well, 65 is four catches a game in this offense? Four? A rookie? Yeah, but I mean, receiver and cornering and running back. I mean, Breece Hall, first carry can play.

I guess you're right. Rishie Rice may be in a work-release program for the first month of the season. I don't know where he is. Is he in jail? I don't know. I don't know where he is. Brutal off-season. Yeah, he had bad.

But I think it's a suspension, but he'd be back. Probably, you know. I think, didn't the team handle the suspension on that? I don't know. Chiefs love to just push things under the rug, so. Well, that's kind of unfair. I think everybody in the league pushes stuff under the rug. Well, I sort of, but the Chiefs, you know, they get kind of a free pass at this stuff.

Because they have Patrick Behold. It's Super Bowl. Certainly an argument. Well, I respect them, but it's pro sports. I'm not looking for a locker room of perfect. Everybody's just, you know, on the straight and narrow. Sometimes people do a little. When you're 21 and rich, kids do crazy stuff.

I wouldn't know I was never 21 in rich. But you had hoop ear rings and you were at night clubs. You didn't have any lettuce, but if you had lettuce, you did have done this. Well, I acted like I had lettuce. Yeah. I had a credit card. ran up some debt. But anyways, I am just curious, what do you think I would be like if the Jets took down the Chiefs in a playoff game? Just spitball. Take the day off.

I mean, it would be historic. All right, let's get to the next story. Speaking of teams I like, how about the 49ers? Forget this Brandon Ayuk nonsense. I'm not worried about it. They still got Debo Samuel. I mean, he had 892 receiving yards, 225 rushing yards, eight touchdowns, An anonymous AFC executive said that although durability has been a bit of a concern, Debo is the ultimate weapon. Got to love it. Look at this crossing around. Over the middle is tough.

He's just awesome, man. He's a different kind of player, but the late Aaron Hernandez for New England, it was like you could put him in like backfield, slot. Debo is just, there's just not a lot of guys like him. Corderole Patterson's got a little bit of that. I think Debo's much better, but there are these players that are just big and talented, and you just kind of, offensive coach can just kind of figure out where to put him. No, Kyle Shanahan is, I think, who was it that had him?

Was it your guy, Middle Cough, had him, is the number one coach? I would have had him, too. Number 1A, Andy's one. Oh, Andy, Andy Reid, obviously, number one. But Shanahan's scheming up the best stuff for Debo, and the ultimate weapon. It's on a team with Christian McCaffrey, who is catching like 100 passes and rushing for 1,000 yards. Is Debo a better weapon than McCaffrey? I think he might...

No, no, no. Well, this AXE executive. Take out Walter Payton. And there's an argument McCaffrey is neck-and-neck with Barry Sanders as the best running back in the history of the sport. Well, hold on. No, he's totally different. LeDaney and Tomlinson was unbelievable.

He's third. McCaffrey could start at wide receiver in the league. Could be the best kick-and-punt returner in the league. Debo can do all that. Debo is not McCaffrey the running back. No way. All right. Final. I didn't get invited to McCaffrey's wedding, and I was there in town.

Did you feel slighted? A little bit. His dad saw me, though, came over and said, I apologize. The son. Ed came over. It felt terrible that I wasn't best man. The whole thing didn't sit well with me, but I'm not going to get into it. That's not a big deal.

Final story, you know, let's get back to. talking about dumpster fires. The New York Giants. Gosh, I love when you take shots at this team. Obviously, they tried to move Daniel Jones' this offseason, specifically trading up for a franchise quarterback. Although they didn't get one, on Hard Knocks, GM Joe Shane asked the room if the group had seen enough of them to trade up for Jayden Daniels,

to which Brian Dable responds. I would. Yep. And on Hard Knocks, they explored the possibility of trading up for Drake May. So they were quarterback hunting. Oh, there's absolutely no dispute. The Giants were quarterback hunting. But here's where

I'm going to defend. I think Daibol's actually... Oh, no. I'm not going to defend Joe Shane. I'll defend Daibold, because I don't know where I land on Joe Shane. But we suggested, and this is what somebody I trust in the NFL and that's been a source for me, Mara really

wanted them to sign Daniel Joan, because they think he's sort of... I mean, he's much more athletic than Eli, but he almost looks like Eli. Southern kid, you know, both the David Cutcliffe connection. So there's this sort of,

he's kind of like Eli's little brother, and he's not. Eli is one of the best ever road, late game, two-minute quarterbacks, never got hurt ever. So if the owner says

sign this quarterback to a contract above his skill set, I'm going to mostly defend the coach and the GM who have to deal with all the shrapnel because he is just

And again, I don't want to pick on the kid, because he is athletic. He reminds me of a more athletic Alex Smith. You know his nickname is Vanilla Vic, right? They can run. That's a good nickname for Daniel Vils. He can run, but so what? He can't throw. He's a turnover machine.

Let me just hypothetically for the Giants, right? They go five and 12. Well, they're not going to go five and 12. Why not? Because I think they've upgraded it receiver. They have a good coach and a good defense. You know, they have one of the lowest win totals in the NFL. This, Colin.

Let's just go quickly. Let's just go to the schedule. Okay, they get the Vikings at home. They can win that game. I think they'll win that game. I'll probably be on the Vikings in that game. All these games are winnable. Good God.

Oh, really? The Browns game in Cleveland? Deshawn Watson, is he going to play? Let's forget Watson. The defense of the Browns is super as loaded. There's how many unwinnable games here for the Giants? Well, they're not being the Browns. They're not beating the Raven.

No, they're not beating the Raven. I don't think they're going to Seattle and Daniel Jones is solving McDonald. You don't think. But they could win that game. They can win every game on this. They're not beaten the rapids. You're going to talk yourself into these clowns again. They play Carolina.

Bengals are beating them by 30. Eagles probably by 45. Is Burrow going to be available? Huh? Is Burrow going to be available? Is there an injury? I don't know about that. You understand, but look at the schedule.

They'll probably split with Philadelphia. They'll probably spend. Well, because of the week 18 game, the Eagles might be arrested. Listen, I don't think the Giants are, but if I have a good coach and a good defense, I can win seven games in the league. Indults me. They go five and 12th. They're not going to go five. Are they blowing out the GM and table?

Are they both going to? I don't know. I don't love the GM, but I think the coach is too good. They're kind of a, I don't know if they're a package deal, but they came over. You start looking at this schedule, and you know they're not going to face. They can't beat the Saints and the Panthers and the Bucks and the Falcons and the Colts. They're getting most of those games at home. Well, no, they got to face the Panthers in Munich.

You can't just go to Munich and show up and expect to beat Bryce Young. Yes, you can. You can beat Bryce Young anywhere. I'm just telling me, this is a five or six win team. Oh, boy. They're going to be fun off-season store. Are you done? You got one more.

Can I just crap on the Giants for another minute? Do you have one more? No, I mean, I've got some more material on the Giants. No, I don't want to keep crapping on the Giants. Okay. All right, J. Mack with the News. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by.

The Hurd Lie News. Let's bring in Albert Breer, Monday morning quarterback. Senior NFL report. I will say, I said this yesterday, these hard-knock shows, you know, I think a lot of it's playing to the television. But about every episode, there'll be a moment. And I've said this before. If you put a camera in my house with my wife and I knew I was being taped, at some point I'd forget about it. And so you do get these moments in hard knocks where it's like, I think they forgot the camera was on.

that whole Mara Saquan, Barclay, Joe Shane I mean, I don't think it's been a great look for the Giants am I being hypercritical? What have you made of the hard-knock stuff with them? I think this is a good sign

of how we're reaching at all-excess tipping point when it comes to these sorts of shows just because they've been everywhere forever now and so much is being asked to these teams, whether it's their in-house people, is the NFL films people. And there's a totally different dynamic that enters when you're talking about

doing this in the off-season, whether it's this series or the Roku series that had the draft for the Rams and the commanders and the Cardinals and the Bears. It introduces a whole bunch of new dynamics. You know, when you're doing it during training camp, Colin, it's very

self-contained. Yeah. For the most part of the prominent players who are on that show are going to be on your team. You're not really involving other teams quite as much, the game footage is pretty vanilla. When you're doing the off-season, it's totally different. And so there are all these people involved in it that maybe didn't sign up to be a part of it. And so you see some things that are a little bit different.

And so I think as the NFL has continued to ask more and more and more of these teams, it's just, you know, become tougher and tougher and tougher for films to play between the lines, which I think has affected the relationship between films and the teams. And so it's going to be interesting to see where it goes from here, because I can tell you for a fact, there are a lot of teams that are watching this right now and saying, yeah, we'll never sign up for that. Yeah, yeah.

You know, I saw a story not to go New York-centric, but I did see a story the other day where Aaron Rogers was given a heads up that they were considering bringing in Arthur Smith to help Nathaniel Hackett call plays. and I thought, that's not good. That's not great. If you look at the Jets season, I think two things will become very, very important.

We know they have a good defense, but defenses don't win the Super Bowl. You've got to score points. The growth of their offensive line left tackle specifically, the health of less tackle a rookie. That'll be key. And the other thing will be,

if Aaron loses some games they should win, Nat Hackett's getting the heat. It's not going to be Aaron. A year ago, I thought Hackett, Sala, Aaron, Kumbaya, I don't feel like that now. Is that me or what is the relationship

going there now? I think there's a good amount of trust still. And I think they're in a fine place. Now, is it more volatile than it was a year ago, probably, just because now a year is gone, you know, and there's always a sense of urgency that they need to win now because of Aaron Rogers age, because of the makeup of the roster. But that's ratcheted up even another level.

And certainly Nathaniel Hackett is a part of that. Now, you know, what I would tell you is part of the reason they were looking at other assistants is because Robert Sala has always wanted to have a certain number of people in that quarterback room. And he was looking to add a coach to the quarterback room because they were one short at the start of the offseason. and the question was, were we going to do it with a high-level assistant or a low-level assistant? And they did look at the idea of putting a high-level assistant in there in the quarterback room with Aaron Rogers, which would have, you know, obviously, I think not only added to the play-calling dynamic, but also, you know, created a situation where if Nathaniel Hackett

has a couple tough games, well, then everybody's going to be saying, like, let's just go with the other guy. Yeah. But the relationship between Rogers and Hackett is still strong. I think the relationship between Rogers and Sala is still where it needs to be. They work through the whole Egypt thing now that it's out there where he is. We don't have to dance around it anymore. And I do think the other thing you mentioned is a big part of this too.

Like they really believe the offensive line is going to be a lot better. And one reason why, and not a lot of people have talked about this, they're over the moon with what they've seen for Molo Fushano, their first round picks so far. So even if they do have injuries and they have two older guys there, tackle at Tyrant and Tyrant Smith and Morgan Moses, they believe they've got a future pro bowl player and Olufashano on the roster coming in as the 11th overall pick from Penn State. So they feel a lot better about their offensive line. And again, like, you know, I think the

attitude there is, and this is going to be kind of a crass way of saying it, Colin, right? Like, but if we win the whole thing is going to take care of itself. Yeah. And if we lose, we're probably all gone anyway. Yeah, yeah. So we, I'm getting a little Brandon Ayyuk fatigue, but where there's smoke, there is off and fire. I do think you could get a first round pick for him. I think if one of their two young receivers they drafted hit, you've got McCaffrey, Kittle, Jennings, Debo, a young rookie, they could move him if it got noisy. I think he's really, really good. But I think it to Kyle Shanahan, Christian McCaffrey Debo-led offense. That's what I think. That's the engine to this offense. I. Yuc is some icing

on the cake, but I do think they could move him. Again, if one of the rookies hits, and I saw both them playing college, the fourth round pick maybe better than the first round, but they can both play. If you don't think he's going to get moved, what would be the impetus, do you think there's a possibility

they just get tired of this? It's distracting, and they do move him. Well, I think we have to look at their history, too. Right, Colin. So go back two years. What happened with Devo Samuel? At this point, in the calendar, that thing was probably worse than this is right now. And if you remember, the narrative at the time was Debo Samuel does not want to play running back, right? They don't,

this is not about money. It's about the wear and tear his body. He doesn't want to carry the ball that way anymore, period, end of story. Well, what winds up happening? He signs a contract, and this is amazing. This is the amazing thing. Two years later, the last two years, he's carried the ball more times on average per game than he did in 2022, when he was looking to, or in 2021, when he was upset about his role, right? So they worked their way through that one. The Nick Bosa thing lasted all summer last year. I'm bringing these things up because they've weathered the storm before. And this is a really important year for them. They're going to have to pay Brock Purdy after this year. The dynamic from a cap standpoint is going to change. They've got this bottleneck of

big contracts. In a lot of ways for this iteration of the Niners, this could be it. They may have to retool a little bit after this year. year and so they really want to make a run at winning a championship this year and brandon iuk's a huge part of that on top of that i think if it were up to them and you ask anybody there who they would rather trade brandon i yuk or dbo samuel i think 10 people out of 10 there would say to you we trade samuel and we sign i yuk and the reason why is because i yuk they view i yuk as a number one receiver for the long term for brand and i for for for broad purdy so they believe that IUC can be the guy there long term.

Kittles older, McCaffrey's older, Dibos beat up. Iyuk is a guy you can look at and say, this is a guy that the next iteration of the Niners can be built around. So both for today and for tomorrow, doing everything you can to keep running and Iyuk makes sense. And their history shows us, again, that they've been willing to weather the storm with these things. They did it both of the last summers.

I think they'll do it again this summer. I know this is looking way out through the windshield, yield. But somebody I trust, and I've seen it reported, said, you know, Belichick's going to do this media thing, and he can, you know, he can trot out on these shows and be fine. He wants the coach. This is a coach. To the very, Parcells tried TV, he's a coach. And that this is a one-year media thing. I'm sure Bill will be fine. But is there an argument? I saw the documentary on Belichick and the Giants, and I saw Bill publicly get emotional. I've never seen that. Like, the Giants touch his heart, not just his head, right?

And I think to myself, is it possible that Dallas, Philadelphia, and the Giants are the three opportunities, if he came back, those are the three teams. Yeah, and you know what? Sort of a zero-thum game, too, isn't it? Like, somebody has to finish third in that division. Somebody has to finish fourth in that division. That's right. So I think a lot of our attention is going to be pointed right there, you know, at the

NFC East when it comes to Bill. And I think as Bill goes through this, he's going to become more likable. And people are going to remember his record over 24 years and not just what happened in 2023. So, you know, I think as he becomes more likable and people start to look at the big picture, he's going to become more appealing. I think this happens in a lot of cases like this. And then you look at those teams in the NFC East, right? Well, Philadelphia, my belief is that if Nick Siriani had been gone after last year,

that either Mike Frable or Bill Belho. would be the coach of the Eagles right now. The Giants, obviously, there's a lot of pressure on those guys to win, and there's the natural connections that you mentioned with the Mara family. Bill still got a very close relationship with John Mara. And then there's the Cowboys, which would have the Parcells dynamic, right? Like the idea of one-uping his old boss and being able to win in Dallas and the relationship that he's got with the Joneses,

which has gotten closer and closer over the years. So I think Bill's desire right now is still the coach. And I think there will be opportunity for them after the year. I think you're right to look at the OECEs. I think that's what we'll be looking at over the course of this year. Because, again, somebody has to finish in third, somebody has to finish in fourth in that division. And I think what's going to be interesting is just kind of to follow how Bill feels about it,

you know, and how that evolves over the course of the year. Because we have seen it before where, you know, Bill Cow or John Gruden, where guys have gotten into media and they get comfortable with a little bit of an easier life. And it's like, I don't know if I want to jump. back in so fast. So, you know, that's the part of it that's unpredictable. But I think as of right now, as intention is to coach, and I think there's a decent chance he winds up in the NFCEs next year. That's just crazy. We root for good stories. That would be a great. That would be great stories. Albert Breer, it is great as always my friend seeing you. Thanks, man.

All right. Thanks, Colin. What would be more interesting? You say Belichick, I think Belichick, God, Belichick coaching the Eagles, the intent of of that city, I'd be so crazy. So, you know, I do this gambling stuff on the NFL, and I got some buddies who were in deep. I had one on my podcast this week. He's picking the Eagles to win the Super Bowl. Win the Super Bowl.

Thinks they run away with the division. Apparently there's some advanced metrics from last year that are looking good for the Eagles, some injuries. Well, I'm picking them to win the division. Don't you have, I have Philly winning the division. Washington is a playoff team. Wild card. I'll go Eagles winning the division,

But I don't think I'm ready to watch him to do that. But here's the thing. What does Siriani have to do to keep his job? If they win the division, he'll keep his job. Win the division and lose in the first round? I don't know about that. If they win their division, it means the coordinators that they brought in have hit. You don't have to be Shane Stuyck and to be successful.

You go 10 and 7 win the division. You weren't that impressive. If you go 10 and 7 and win a playoff game, Siriani's keeping his job. And that also means that Jalen Hertz rebounded and was at least effective. I'm not that worried about Hertz, but I'm worried about Siriani. If you've got the names Breer just said looming, I think you've got to do more than 10 wins and a playoff win. I don't care if you beat Atlanta in the playoffs, 2710.

Like that doesn't mean anything. They went to the Super Bowl and nearly beat the Chiefs. I think they're real expectations. They've got to make a run. Yeah, it's harder in the NFC to make a run this year because I think Detroit, Green Bay, and the Rams are all going to be noticeably better. Well, we'll see what the Sequin Barclay thing does. There's an article out there.

I think I referenced it, where people are saying Sequin could have an impact on the Eagles that McCaffrey had on the Niners. Well, McCaffrey's better, but it's possible. Maybe we're asleep a little low on the Eagles. I don't know. Have you looked at the schedule? Do we have the schedule? I don't never sleep on the Eagles.

There are teams I've slept on. I don't sleep on the Eagles. I pay attention to them. It's favorable. Like, there's a world where they're a 12-win team. Well, there are schedules. I still think it's funny that everybody was outraged by what the Falcons did in the draft and with cousins. Atlanta's a guaranteed 10-win team.

That schedule is one of the weakest I've ever seen in the league. Philadelphia's schedule, they still have to go to Dallas. Those division games are always intense. We don't know what Dallas. Dallas is another mystery team. I don't think they're making the playoffs. I'm starting to warm up to your, they could miss the playoffs. Yeah, I was thinking about this this morning.

A lot of the great ideas that come out of this head. In the shower, I'm sitting there. Putting the head and shoulders on and just things percolating. If C.D. Lamb twisted an ankle for a month, what's the number one weapon for the Cowboys? They are a twisted ankle to C.D. Lamb from being bad. What are their weapons? They gave Dalton Schultz. He's in Houston. I mean, they don't, they're probably the weakest running back room in the league.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist But if Jerry wanted to get out of the DAC and McCarthy business This is how you do it What business do you get into? Well, you get into a Belichick business and draft another quarterback. But if you wanted to get out of the DAC and McCarthy business, bring in a limited group of weapons, don't make any moves, put more pressure on DAC. Jerry, for one year instead of paying $60 million, this team is going to be DAC-centric, 42 passes a game. That tells you he's going to struggle and put more pressure, less offense on McCarthy to win game situationally.

if you're trying to get out of the DAC and McCarthy business, the off-season looks like it did for the Cowboys. You take a step back for a year, get Belichick and draft a quarterback. It's a little sinister for my liking, but it's not your worst work. I think there's probably something. Considering what's been on the internet in the last week,

that's a pretty light conspiracy. It's tough, though, to con, an eight, how old is Jerry, 80-something? He's just punting on the season A. We're not winning anything. He's not president. You're punting on a football ownership season. and they'll be okay.

But DAC won't be good enough to give $60 million to, and McCarthy won't be quite good enough to bring back. They'll still go like 9 and 7. But is that a good job if you don't have a quarterback and no weapons, and then you've got to pay Micah Parsons? I'm sure they'll be able to fill it. By the way, give me the Eagle schedule. You said was a cupcake schedule.

That's not a cupcake schedule. Why? Because Green Bay is at the top? Look after that. Time out. Win, win, win, buy. Time out. Starting in week eight, let me just name the quarterbacks you face. Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawrence, Dak, Matt Stafford, Lamar Jackson, Russell Wilson,

Dack. Russell Wilson, what is he? Look at the end of the season. Even if they're like, oh, nine and six, look at that. Carolina, they're going to be favorite. Jane and Daniels, when he walks in and looks like Lamar Jackson, L.L. Let's go to the Cowboys schedule. Come on.

Let's go to the Cowboys schedule here. Crank this up, graphic guys. That Eagle's schedule, the last six games are a joke. It's kind of a, it's, it's, it's a, there's a lot. The problem is they've got the Browns on the road week one. I'm not, I'm going to tell you. That is, that is a game, that's a lot of close games. Cleveland, Baltimore, Detroit, San Francisco, Atlanta, Philly, Houston, Cincinnati.

That is a, that's tougher. That is a close game schedule. The kind that Mike McCarthy's situational blundering could lead to his unemployment. It's what happens when you win the division. So they go before the buy, against Detroit, which is very good. Detroit had them beat in Dallas last year. Remember that game?

And then they go to the buy and then they come out in San Francisco. I'm telling you right now, this cowboy schedule, and they made no moves in free agency. The pressure is all on DAC to Purdue. They got like seven elite quarterbacks in this schedule with better weapons than back has. Wrap it up next.

Saturday, it's baseball night in America on Fox as the Red Sox take on Shohei Otani and the Dodgers. Or the Diamondbacks take on the Cubs. It all begins at 70s. Turn on Fox. Check local listings for the game in your area. By the way, baseball ratings are up. Women's basketball ratings are up.

F1, ratings are up. Soccer, the Euros, and the Copa up. NFL last year up, college football up, NBA down. Why is that? And then the NBA is the one about to get that billion-dollar TV. They've always had money. But if I said to you, why is that? Now, the Internet will tell you there's so many cultural factors.

My argument is the league's gotten very global. And so we're segueing from the LeBron, KV, Steph League to the Janus Yokic Wembe League. And we're going to have about a two-year window here. You just have to be, we're kind of rebooting with new star. The league really weighed in heavy on Steph and LeBron for 15 years. Did not develop a lot of other stars. Some weren't guys that wanted to be stars. But I do think the NBA is going to be fine.

We know they're going to be fine with money, but I think it's easy to say what you want. But the reason the WNBA ratings are up, we've introduced a new star. And the NFL ratings are up. They continually introduce new stars. Brady leaves. Now you got Josh, Lamar, C.J. Stroud. Baseball, by the way, is up. Some of it is the shortening of the game, but Otani is like introducing a new star.

Do you remember the big star before Otani? It was Trout. Nobody cared. Nobody cared. Now you got Otani a big-time global superstar. But there's a lot of things about the NBA. I think they could do a better job. But I will say, I think the quality of basketball is better.

But I do think it's gotten very international. And many international players don't want to be the face of the league. Wemby and aunt, to me, will be the faces of the league. I don't know if they are as dynamic as an MJ or a magic or whatever. But, I mean, the hues and the cries of the NBA. They are just banking money like never before. I think the biggest mistake the NBA has made. Adam Silver's made in 10 years.

They've demonized college basketball, which is basically a marketing micro way for your league. They've demonized it. The last star out of college was Zion. You know I know who he is? Duke. And Nike, his shoe blew up. That's why I know him.

I think they've demonized it. They have elevated the G League. Nobody watches it. The coaching's not great. The G League is not your answer. Use college basketball. which you may be able to do now because NIL is going to pay some top players. Use college basketball as free marketing.

Jack Eadie. He's a rookie of the year favorite now. I can't wait to watch Zach Eadie play. Why? March Madness in Purdue. That's a good point. So I think college bass, I think you're going to get a little more college basketball stardom,

pivoting to the NBA. Kids are going to stay in college or go to college that wouldn't have previously because of the NIL.
