Today's the official start of free agency, but we all know the worst kept secret. All this stuff's worked out days in advance, probably last weekend, Thursday, Friday, most of this stuff. both Harbaugh's went and got a running back so the running back market is alive and well doing fine

I think Atlanta probably arguably improved the most in terms of overall wins because I think Kirk Cousins Desmond Ritters minimum two to three wins we talked about that yesterday Kirk Cousins is better than people thinking more productive but he's such a nice quiet guy and nice quiet guys you know we just they just don't make headlines

and I mean Aaron Rogers gets 15 times the exposure of Kirk Cousins in the last three years. Kirk Cousins a better quarterback. What's the saying nice guys finish last? Isn't that what it is? Well, he'll finish first in the NFC South. So I want to talk about this. So I'm reading some stuff here regarding Justin Fields

and multiple NFL sources saying he is now, he's a backup. It doesn't look like there's a starting job out there at the moment. I mean, my take is if you're still saying that Chicago should stick with Justin Fields, You didn't watch the games or you're not living in reality. I've heard so many bad, strange Justin Fields takes in the last six months. There's only one opinion you can have. He's a very good athlete who's bad in the pocket. That's it.

Wayne Gretzky was great at hockey. That's the only opinion you can have on Wayne Gretzky. That's it. Mike Tyson in his early 20s had a devastating knockout. You get no other opinion on his punching. Like there's certain things that are true. This is a non-fiction show. If you want to do podcast and go down rabbit holes or YouTube,

there's a lot of conspiracies out there. We don't do them. So far in his career, from the pocket, Justin Fields is basically Davis Mills, Taylor Heineckee, and Mack Jones. And you don't like any of those guys. Okay? So he doesn't have a market. Again, he's athletic.

But when you're hearing, he's a backup, the market is speaking. The NFL GMs, they're looking at full. film. And the film is telling you, he's got some wiggle, he's got some Zach Wilson arm strength, but in the end, he's not very good from the pocket. So the Raiders needed a quarterback, and they took Gardner Minshue. There you go. So now, the question is, what do the bears do? So we don't have to just sit here and bang on Justin Fields. What do the bears do? So I said this earlier this week. If you have a declining asset, anything. Could be an old used car. Sell it quickly. If you have an ascending asset, hold it. Be patient. So obviously,

Obviously, Justin Fields now is a declining asset, but is it too late to move him? There's an argument to be made that you hold on to him to the draft, and if a team that wants a quarterback doesn't get one, because I think five of these quarterbacks are going in the first 15 picks and a team that's 18, 19, 20, 21 that doesn't want to give up draft capital, doesn't get their guy. Then, then you may have leverage again. Then you may have an ascending asset for two days. days in the draft, three days in the draft.

Or if he didn't go in the draft, you can't trade a minute. Do you wait to camp somebody gets hurt? So how do you turn a declining asset into an ascending asset? It may just be now get to the draft or get to the start of the season. That's up to Chicago. But back to the nonfiction, which we tend to think this show is, not always right, but nonfiction, find me the quarterbacks who after three years aren't very good in the pocket and then they pop.

The Giants thought that with Daniel Jones. they now regret giving him the contract, according to more sources today that are worried about his durability. The Tabibay Buccaneers kept thinking, James Winston's going to turn after five years are like, let's go get Brady. Jacksonville convinced themselves. You know, this is that Blake Bortles just took a while to bake.

They paid him. It never got good, and he's out of the league. So it's just, there's not a history of guys getting a lot of starts, 35-40 starts, and with decent enough weapons the last couple years, it's not very good from the pocket. It doesn't pop in year four. Generally, even Josh Allen needed a second year. You've seen that before where somebody needs refining and sandpaper. I thought Josh Allen you had to sandpaper a little bit.

Brian Daible had to clean him up. But he was called by Mel Kuiper, one of the 10 best prospects in draft history at quarterback. So you knew the talent, the size, the arms. the moving. It was all there. Sometimes you just need the right coach. Maybe that's it for Justin Fields, but my guess is he's just viewed by the league as a guy that you'd kind of have to change your entire coaching staff to make it work, which people were willing to do for Lamar Jackson, because Lamar Jackson got great really fast. Remember rookie year starts week 11? You're like, whoa! Next year he's MVP. That's different. Lamar Jackson,

People were willing to literally change the offense, hire this, hire that. People thought Tim Tebow was that. I didn't. People thought Johnny Mansell. They got to change the up. Very few guys you could get Colin Kaepernick for a couple years. They kind of changed the offense. It worked.

Had some success. But with Justin, they made all sorts of moves. It's not getting better. Just straight line. You get what you get. So with that, Albert Breyer, Monday morning quarterback is joining us live. So my point about the leverage, right now. he's a declining asset, there is a way that he becomes an ascending asset, which is, you know,

you go to the draft and one of these teams doesn't get a guy. Is that now the best move, or do you think he moves off the board here in a couple days? Yeah, it might be. You know, the bears have explored different options with Justin, and I think one thing that kind of, you know, struck them at the combine when they're going through the paces with Caleb and Caleb's checking every box was, you know, how some of their suitors were operating at the top of the quarterback market, right? So they'd have to wait, they thought, to let the top of the quarterback market settle and then see what there was out there.

And things went the wrong way for them there. Atlanta, a potential suitor, wound up getting Kirk Cousins. Pittsburgh, a potential suitor wound up getting Russell Wilson. And so by waiting then, you know, they wait for those two teams, those two teams obviously going in a different direction, land the guys that went through first for them and then you look at Justin versus the rest of the quarterback market and I think what the league's telling us now is that there isn't a drastic difference between Justin Fields and Jacoby Rossett and Gardner Minshu and Sam Darnold and all these other guys that were out there

and remember all those other guys that are out there are out there and don't require draft picks coming back right and so I think they sort of got caught between those two the bears did and now you know you look at it and if you're Chicago I think you you say okay like we're going to reset a little bit here. We're going to bring Caleb Williams in for a 30 visit after his pro day next week in Los Angeles. And you just hope something develops where someone winds up having a need at that position. But right now it does look like the options would be to send him to a team that collects quarterbacks as a backup where Justin can have a good year developing. Like Philadelphia is one that sticks out to me as a team that has done that in the past where they run a system that would fit him.

They need depth at that position because Jalen Hertz does have some injury history now. And because of the way they play, you always have to be prepared for that. But certainly isn't where I think Chicago thought it would be a couple weeks ago. So, you know, it's interesting. The Cowboys have done nothing. And what's interesting is there, we showed this earlier, there are real clear numbers that in Dax's career, when he gets run support, he's really good. Really good, exceptional.

But he's only won nine games in his career when he gets less than 100 yards rushing. He is very run game dependent. Mahomes isn't. Josh Allen isn't. That's okay. Some quarterbacks are, some aren't. So Burrow isn't. So my takeaway is, are you surprised at all?

Running backs have had a great four days. Dallas hasn't done anything. And basically they have a tiny six-round pick, a tiny running backs. They're a guy. What do you make of that? Yeah, you have to want to. if they're a little gun-shy about spending on the position now. You know, they got great, great production out of Zeke Elliott, then they paid him and things went the other way. They got great

production out of Tony Pollard. They paid him. Things went the other way. You know, if you look at their history over the last 10 years, Colin, their history tells us that they've gotten the best out of running backs when they've drafted and developed them themselves. You know, so I think that's probably the way they go here, even though it's not a great class in the draft. Maybe the best running back in the draft is the kid coming back off the ACL, Jonathan Brooks from Texas. And just as far as like where they are, you know, from a global standpoint, you know, Jerry made that comment all in. And, you know, it's obviously affected some of the narratives over the first couple of days of free agency. I remind you like last year, their big move came much later in the offseason.

It was a trade for Stefan Gilmore. I think the Cowboys have a swing or two in them. I think they're going to be creative about this. I don't think it was ever going to be on the first day of free agency. I think they've viewed it. the top of free agency the same way a lot of teams did, which was, it's a very thin market. And with the exploding cap, there were going to be a number of guys that were going to get overpaid at the top of the market. So, you know, I think the whole plan coming into this was for them to operate creatively. And it wouldn't surprise me if they've got a creative swing or two left in them. Remember, you know, it's only been 48 hours since all this started.

Yeah. Are you surprised? If I would have guessed the teams that would go after Seekwan Barkley, Eagles would not have been on my short list. I love him there, by the way. He gets a better O-line. They have star receivers, so you can't crowd the box. You know, he's had safeties in the box for the last six years, and he's still been 7,000 yards, over 40 touchdowns. I like Philadelphia, but I am kind of surprised they went for it. Was it a Jason Kelsey reaction? What did you make of the move? No, I think it's a way to add another playmaker to their offense. You know, like they've already got the both receiver positions taken care of, and A.J. Brown and Devante Smith. They've got Dallas Goddard, who they're really happy with at

tight end. And this is a way to add another element to what they're doing offensively. And I do think, you know, you've gotten to the point, and the Eagles always look at these sorts of things where running backs have become a bargain. I mean, do you know what receivers make $15 million, Colin? It's like Hunter Renfro and Cortland Sutton. And look, like running backs traditionally have been a bad investment. Like, right? Like when you invest in them later in their careers, it can blow up on you. But we're talking about $12 million a year, which is $3 million

less than Hunter Renfro and Cortland Sutton are making. I mean, you tell me what's a better deal, you know? This is a guy who could be getting the ball 15, 20 times a game for you. So I think that's part of it, is reading the market that way. And then there's the reality of who they're up against, right?

And I think that's what's so interesting about the running back market this year is we've heard forever what a bad investment running backs are. on the second contract, right? There was a team in the Super Bowl that had the highest paid running back in the league on its roster, and maybe as this most important offensive player in Christian McCaffrey. And so I think you'd be silly not to look at that and say that might have influenced a team or two. Maybe the Eagles themselves who beat the Niners in the NFC title game a couple of years ago.

You know, it is funny about that, Albert. You know, used to nobody paid tight ends. And then you get Travis Kelsey and George Kittle, and you're like, we need to pay tie. If you're great at what you do, you're an asset. Christian McCaffer. You know, if I can remember the longest time, people didn't like to pay interior offensive linemen. The Rams now have two expensive guards.

That's just, I mean, if you're great at what you do, you will eventually get paid. I've got to ask you, Russell Wilson of the Steelers feels like the right fit. Because their offense tends to have some drama, and Russell can kind of, you know, sink it up. Yeah. Do you see it as a long-term thing or just a, hey man,

Mike Tomlin's going to do what Mike Tomlin wants. In any drama, he had it with Big Ben, he'll move off it. What do you make a rust of the Steelers? Is it long-term potentially? It's on the Steelers' terms for now, no question. You know, when they brought him in, they set expectations. He is going to have to compete for the job. He's going to have to beat out Kenny Pickett.

He had fished around, you know, for a second year. That would have been one way to get around the offsets and get some extra money in the deal. The Steelers said no. So, you know, on Friday he went home after meeting. with the Steelers. He huddles up with his group on Saturday and it makes the decision that Pittsburgh's the place he wants to be and obviously gets done on Sunday. And so this was done very much with expectations and parameters set very clearly by Mike Tomlin and the Steelers. And I think it's ideal for Pittsburgh too. Like if Kenny Pickett's a rookie, I don't know that you

want to put Russell Wilson in the quarterback room. But the kick gloves are off now. They've got to find out about their first round pick. It's decision time on him. And so I think one or two things happens. You know, either Kenny Pickett, this lights a fire under him and he beats out Russell Wilson and the Steelers have their quarterback of the future, or Russell plays really well, then you have your answer on Kenny Pickett and you move forward with Russell. You know, part of the whole logic here is, you know, the point at which you're buying into Russell Wilson, and it's a point at which where you have leverage in this situation if you're the Steelers, and he's going to be motivated to rebound and prove a lot of people wrong. And I know

that they feel like that's a really good place to be. Obviously, they still have some work to do at receiver, having offloaded Deonté Johnson, but I think the Steelers feel pretty good about where they are a quarterback now, given the sort of year they had last year, cycling through Kenny Pickett, Mason Rudolph, and the rest of it. Anybody, you know, nobody ever wants to say this, but Free Agent, we always have the lists of the winners.

Is there anybody you didn't love it? Any team, like, I thought Buffalo moved off some really important team leaders in the room. I didn't love Buffalo's week. Your thoughts? Well, I mean, like, see, that's the trouble, though, is that we're always going to look at the teams that are inactive and we're going to say that they're the losers.

And the reality is, like, teams that are most active are usually the ones that don't win these things. Right. So as far as teams, I had some questions about what they were doing. I'd have to think about that. The Chargers obviously have some big decisions to make. over the next few hours here on the four guys with big contracts, Joey Boza, Kulow, Matt, Keenan Allen, and Mike Williams.

So it'll be interesting to see what they do. You know, I'm just trying to think if there's a team where there was some inactivity. You know, I think the Panthers could have done more. And I wasn't wild about letting Brian Burns go so quickly. I think, you know, $28 million a year for a 25. year old pass rusher isn't a bad price yeah i'm still not sure that they've done enough around bryce young dante johnson comes in and he had attitude issues in pittsburgh and if you want to look up like the history of skill position players being offloaded from the steelers right like productive ones it's not very

good in their next chapter and you get and i don't need to name names but you know who i'm talking about here um so i do wonder with carolina like i like i'd like to see more of the plan like i like that they go get Robert Hunt from Miami and get a piece for that offensive line and get Bryce Young some protection. But I mean, look, like it's not like the clock's ticking already on finding out on Bryce Young, but you're going to have to find out over the next two years, you know. And so I'd feel a lot better about it if there was a swing there, right? Like if the Brian Burns trade, moving Brian Burns off the roster coincided with acquiring T. Higgins from Cincinnati, something like that, right? So I'd say I'd come out of the first two days.

like wondering, okay, where are the Panthers going with, you know, their young quarterback who struggled in year one and Bryce Young on his rookie contract. You're in that window right now. Do you have an aggressive move or two left? And that'd be the question I'd have. Yeah, good stuff. Now, I kind of think I agree with you on that. Buffalo and Carolina, some head scratchers, but Buffalo has Josh Allen, so they'll figure out ways to win games on Sunday. Hey, Albert, it's great seeing you as always Monday morning quarterback following breaking stuff and he contextualizes it about as well as anybody else does. So I appreciate you coming on the show, bud.

All right, thanks, Colin. Yeah. So what would you do if you ran the Bears? What would you do with Justin Fields? Would you wait for the draft? I would ship him FedEx to the first team that called me this week. Really? Yeah. He's got to get him out, start over. You say this all the time. Like, smart

businesses, know when to like break it off and move on. This is like relationships and dating and stuff. The longer he sticks around, the more this narrative builds and the nonsense and the noise in Chicago. And the truth is, even if you went to the draft and things worked out, what would you get a a three instead of a five?

Like you're waiting. You probably just want to be like, he's out of the building, good luck to the kid. I mean, you don't want to treat a kid. I mean, I would like to see him go somewhere where he plays.

I said it before. His comp to me is a more athletic, Sam Darnold. I wanted Sam Darnold athletically to get another shot. I'd like to see Justin Fields in an organization that doesn't ruin quarterbacks. I would love to see somebody else give him a run. Hey, I'll throw one out to you.

Carolina. I mean, seriously. I mean, listen, Bryce Young could struggle early on, and people, let's get Justin Fields in here. You don't need that, Bryce Young's thinking. I think the backing up Jalen Hertz, backing up Anthony Richardson, I mean, that's interesting. That's interesting. I think Jalen Hertz is an easier backup because Jalen's... He's a pro.

And he's been to Super Bowls. You're not going to have anybody asking about his he... If Anthony Richardson gets dinged up and Justin has a good two-game stretch, do you have a quarterback controversy. I think Anthony Richardson has a chance to be really good. He also has a chance to get hurt again. I mean, he got hurt. Didn't he get two concussions?

No, no, no. He's got to figure out, you know, he's so big and strong that I don't think he's, when Justin Herbert walked in this league, I remember twice, him running to the sidelines and running into a linebacker, sizing him up. And I'm like, Justin, I know you're 6, 6.2.30. Don't do that. There's video on the internet of Justin Herbert having a sideline collision with a linebacker.

and you're like, it would knock 90% of the quarterbacks. Josh Allen had a couple of those. You like, boys, let's just step out of back. Learn to slide. So there you go. I got stuff moving. I got a feeling something's going to happen here. On the fields front or elsewhere?

Seattle, Justin Fields. I just, I think it's one of your better takes. That and Iona plus the points are not. Money line, money line. Okay. That's some courage. right there. Iona, a dog in the money. It was a parlay. I needed four teams to

So I have buddies who grew up in Connecticut, and they loved Yukon basketball, and they were not big Celtic fans, and the Knicks weren't any good. So they're college basketball fans. You grew up with a lot of college basketball.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. We're in the 70s, where I became a fan, the Sonics were great, and the Blazers were great. So I grew up, like, that was a big deal when you're in the Northwest to get your teams on national TV. Brent Musburger was on CBS. They had the NBA. That's the stuff I watched.

So it's, I'm not. And I love three weeks of March Madness. That's a blast. But you grew up in it, so that's what you like. Like a lot of people grow up. I grew up in a small town. We didn't have Major League Baseball until the late 70s in Seattle. So my favorite team was the Cincinnati Reds because they were on TV every week.

They had Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan, Pete Rose, Tony Perez. So that was my team. And then I also loved the Kansas City Royals because my favorite player was George Brett. And they had Freddie Pawtech. And they had great teams. I think Amos Otis was on that team. Just rattling off 70s baseball players. I was a big Midwest baseball fan.

The Cardinals, the Reds, the Royals. And I love the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Phillies because we didn't have Major League Baseball. So I'm an NBA guy, basically, because what I watched at 10 years old. So I grew up in Northern Virginia, and Georgetown was dominating the Big East. And a headline machine. Oh, my, great. And the Big East was stacked, and the NBA team was the Washington at the time, Bullets,

who were a joke. I read the Washington Post all the time. Tony Cornheiser would just rip the Washington bullets to shreds every week. And as a West Coast kid, I grew up with a big, you know, even though we had Pack 12 basketball, I was a huge Big East fan. I mean, Louis Carnasek, P.J. Carlissimo, and Rick Petino and Roli Massimino, and it was like I was a West, small town guy on the West Coast. That was the only conference I watched.

I didn't care about it. At that time, Duke and Carroll, I was a big East fan because their games were more physical. There were brawls and fights, and the coaches were huge personalities. But I'm also a big Knicks guy because I was. born in New York, we would go up to visit relatives in New York. And of course, New York's a big pro-town. College is not as big. Why do I like college football? Because I grew up in the 70s where the Huskies had Don James as a coach. And so they were playing, you know, they were dominant in Rose Bowls, beating Michigan in Rose Bowls. And so you kind of, what you grow up

with, what's the first thing you love? 7, 8, 9, 10, when you start getting into sports, I was college football and NBA. Now, I've become a huge NFL fan. But my first two favorite sports, NBA basketball because my local teams were good. The Washington Redskins were the NFL team. They were dominant at the time. And of course, you know, Jason, I don't want to root for the Washington. Everybody roots for them. I'm going to root for my hometown Jets.

What a mistake that was. Oh, my. There was a season. They went, I believe, one in 15. And their only win was like 3-0 over the Washington Redskins. And I was like thumping my chest at school, you know, third grade, Jason. We beat you guys. They're like, bro, you guys have one win.

I know. You're the Jets. You picked the wrong team. J-Mac with the news No No no Turn on the news This is the herd line news

The Eagles have the best front office in the NFL. Hashtag, how about them cowboys? Listen, this guy chimed in on the Cowboys after the loss of the Packers.

He's trying to play the blame game. Does Dak need to tell him, baby bro? Let's power down here. Well, he's doing it out of love for his brother. Like, people in your family that chatter, you know, they're supporting you. So it's hard to tell somebody, how do you know Dax not privately complaining to Tad? How can we can't get a running back? I mean, Dax's there.

He knows. I mean, the numbers are pretty staggering. We showed him earlier. When Dack has 100 yards rushing support. He's hard to beat. His numbers are up there with Lamar and Josh Allen. He wins 70% of his games. Jack has only nine wins in his career when he gets less than 100 yards rush support.

Wow. But you and I have been doing this long enough that we know the teams that spend. I think Breer even said it. The teams that spend, it's kind of dumb money. You're a bad team and you're just spending because you have cap room to get guys. A lot of these moves, in the grand scheme of things, are going to be insignificant. Well, that's fair, but I don't see a single team that's spent foolishly. I don't have to love what Carolina's done.

But there's not a single team out here that I feel like they're trying to buy wins. That used to be the case. Like a few years ago, Jacksonville, and then the year after at New England, they spent a fortune. Yeah. It didn't do anything. So I'm not saying, like I think Atlanta improved their team. And I do think, like, you know, I'll just say our hometown Rams, they're going to move their great guard, the rookie last year to center. They're going to be exceptional guard center guard.

They have an older quarterback Stafford. I totally get what he's doing. I don't want anybody to touch Stafford. and I can see that's kind of strange spending guard spending I can see Philadelphia with Stake Juan Barclay saying

Jason Kelsey's gone O-line not going to be the same and we do not want Jalen Hertz They're trying to reduce the number of times Jalen Hertz carries the ball I think by the way Baltimore is doing the same is we know Lamar runs but it would be nice to have a guy that can do

22 carries a few times here. I did see some Ravens fans little skittish. They lost I think four starters so far between offensive the defense. And I know you bring in Derek Henry, and there's hope that the kid, what was the day? Mitchell, the running back, who was awesome. Well, that Roquan Smith is such a great linebacker. You can't pay two linebackers. So you had to move off one of those guys. And if I had to move off one, I would have moved off the guy that went to Pittsburgh. Yeah,

Rockwood Smith is arguably after Fred Warner, the best linebacker in football. You want to criticize anybody. The Pittsburgh linebacker move? I mean, overpaying a guy that your division rival just said, yeah, we can afford to lose him. That's, I don't. I don't. I don't. and the Brian Burns contract? I know Burns is really good. I don't know. I think the Giants are... What they're saying is, listen,

we don't have Jalen Hurts or Dak. We're stuck with Daniel Jones for a year. The GM and the coach need to keep their jobs. Their takeaway is we'll have the best pass rush in the division because we're not going to be close at quarterback. So I get... That's what the Raiders said. We don't have Herbert and we don't have Mahomes.

But Christian Wilkins with Max Crue. Crosby, we'll have the best pass rush in the division. I get that way of thinking if you don't have a star quarterback. I get the Giants and Raiders. Do you think inactivity of Dallas is worth getting? It's not like they've got money to go out and get Sequan-Barkley, right? So I don't understand what Tad Prescott wants. I thought an interesting, you know, they got Dobbins from Ravens still on the market.

He's coming off another. I know, but he says something for Dallas. You can't go in with Duce. What's wrong with Rico Dowdell? He's a new starting running back. For who? Dallas. I think it's Rico Dowdell. That's, come on.

All right. Next up, CJ Stroud and the Texans. Now, here's a team quietly that's been doing some awesome stuff. Man, their offseason has included Joe Mexins. Yeah. And the Texans will reportedly add Danielle Hunter, two years, 49 mil, 48 million of a guarantee from the Vikings. He will replace the guy that left the Texans on the defensive line. I think Houston is shaping up as a pretty solid.

team. Okay, so this is interesting. So when Belichick started stacking Super Bowl wins, he took over the front office. And the Patriots drafts, this is indisputable, for the last five years have gone into the tank. That's indisputable. Google them.

Look at their last six drafts. Belichick controlled it. So Nick Casario was up there. He goes, I'm getting out of here. I'm going to Houston. Dysfunctional as they are, I can run scouting. And look at the last two. Free agent signings by the Texans in last year's draft.

Excellent. It was good. We said this last year. You rolled your eyes at me. I said, Houston's not getting stars, but last year in free agency, they went and got a bunch of B-plus players. You go look at Nick Casario's draft last year, this free agent period in last year. So here's my question. Belichick wouldn't let this guy work his magic in New England, clearly, because every opportunity he's had in Houston, the three.

Three opportunities. Two free agent periods in a draft, he's been excellent. Yes. You see they got that linebacker. He's pretty good. Okuda. No, these are good signings. He's had a rough go, but if he's like your number three cornerbacker or situation.

I don't have, I think these are all excellent signings. Joe Mixon is, I've been arguing for Joe Mixon's done some stuff off the field I don't love. Regrettable, not redeemable. I'm just saying as a football player, Joe Mixon's a very good football player, Hunter, excellent. And also these defensive edge signings, they have a defensive coach. And they got Will Anderson who they got in a draft line. What's just amazing, though, is Belichick clearly muscled the young guy from New England in the front office because this guy's hit nothing but B plus hits and A hit since he's been there.

I don't know if he was there for the Stingley over Sauce Gardner. We could call that a brick. Well, Stingley was... He's been okay, and I know we have a Houston guy on staff who pumps him up. No, Stingley is really talented. Soft Gardner is elite. Stingley has been okay. Final point.

Are we at the point where, like, the Colts are now looking up to Houston? We thought the Colts would dominate the division for years. I think Houston goes in as a favorite again in this division. It ain't the Titans. We know that. Well, the Jags were going to come back. They have the best quarterback. I will just say.

Do they? Well, that's a good question. That's fair. CJ was good. I think. I mean, I'm a Trevor Lowe. Lawrence guy, but Stroud's year last year was so much better than

Lauren. Not even close. I don't even like the Texans ownership situation, but if you get the GM coach and quarterback right, it's amazing what happens in this league. And I still think they have one of the weaker ownership situation. Indeed. Final story is the paper clips last night, tough one. So they were up

22 and they end up losing to the T-Wolves. And worse yet, Kauai Leonard had his back flare up. They're calling it back spasms. He basically couldn't sit down. So he went to the locker room, didn't return. I mean, he left the arena.

So, we know Kauai Leonard has had some issues with injuries throughout his career. He basically got dressed. He's like, I'm out. I'm not sticking around. I'm surprised Paul George could not carry the team. Anthony Edwards outplayed him straight up. Anthony Edwards is very good. I mean,

last night he put Paul George in a body bag. It was all, like, locking him up defensively. If Edwards tries, I mean, he's like a top 10 player in the league. He was amazing. Yeah. And here we go with the Clippers, Colin. Once again, injuries lining up just as we get to the police.

Let's be fair to the Clippers. It is an older team, Kauai, Paul George, Westbrook Hardin, little older. They got some guys with some. Westbrook's now out with the injury. Yeah, so it's a little bit of an older team. Let's not be too harsh at the end of the regular season. This is still a team outside of Denver. I have no interest playing in the West.

I think the Clippers match up because I think they're so potentially good on the wing defensively. They've got size. Take Denver out of it. Would you be shocked if the Clippers beat the Warriors, the Lakers, the Sons? I would know. OK.C. Minnesota, I would not. Clippers are dangerous.

So Clippers are four. Look like they're locked in there. Pelicans 5. Looks like that'll be a first round matchup. So I would take the Clippers absolutely there. You got veteran playoff guys. I got some work to do on that. Are you sure? I like the Clippers there. And I also think Ty Loo is one of the better top five coaches.

in the league. Yeah. So you win a game on coaching. You have experience. Excellent wing defense. I would take the Clippers over the penalty. So that would be Clippers, Lakers' second round because the Lakers are beating O KC. That is a great series.

That's a go either way. I'd probably take the Lakers because LeBron, it would just do something. You know, he would take things over. I would take. And also, AD and LeBron, AD hasn't been hurt in forever. Hey, hey, let's not jinx anything. Come on. I would probably take the Lakers.

That'd be a great series. I should point out, if the Mavs beat the Kings and the Mavs are the seven, Kings Lakers for the eight spot. Kings have owned the Lakers. Own them. Sabonis has never lost Anthony Davis straight up. Lakers cannot guard Dier and Fox. So you already have the Mavs losing to the Kings in round one?

You're finally acknowledging it? No, no, the Mavs are beating the Kings and the play-in. So the Mabs would be the seven, and then if the Kings beat the Lakers for the eight. What happened to the old light the beam nonsense? You guys, you and Nick Wright were on that thing. It was like a political campaign last year. Light the beam. Who do you hate more?

The Kings or Jason Tatum? Just be honest with the audience. I like the King's starting five. Sabonis, Keegan Murray, Deeran Fox, Sabon. They have good player. Harrison Barnes. They got some good dudes. What about Red Velvet?

That's what's going to come down to. We've had a lot of third-party candidates. They're all a little unique, a little quirky. RFK Jr. certainly qualifies as that. It doesn't bother me at all. I thought the internet yesterday was actually very funny with all the comments about it. It says basically that Zach Wilson's fourth in line to be the president of the United States.

That was my favorite line. You know, again, I don't have a problem with any of it. Like, it just doesn't mean, hey, he likes Aaron. Aaron has opinions. I'm for non-political candidates. Like, our politicians can't get things right all the time. So why not? But it is so noisy and so on brand for Aaron Rogers.

and here, by the way, Aaron was, when they got rid of Brett Favre, Brett Favre got very noisy. Remember, I'm going to retire. I don't want to learn a new offense. He had controversy in New York. I mean, Farrv got incredibly noisy, and Aaron Rogers walked in, and for about seven years was very quiet. Just went about his way, had a good sense of humor and won a bunch of games.

Now, Aaron at the end, the darkness retreat, you know, skirmishes with the front office, you got, you know, vaccine stands, whether you agree, or not got very noisy. And here's Jordan Love, like young Aaron Rogers, sitting on the bench for three years, watching an iconic legend sort of bristle, get prickly, don't want to learn a new this, don't want to learn a new that, don't love the coach, I'm out of here. I mean, it literally is the same thing. And so Jordan Love, this West Coast quarterback who went late in the first round, so did

Aaron, ends up sitting behind a legend for three years, starts playing and looks like physically, he has a little bit of the previous quarterback style. Aaron was a very robotic quarterback at Cal. I remember watching him play a USC game. He was good, but he was very robotic. And Farv was always this sort of loose gunslinger. And Aaron sitting behind Rodgers, or Farron sitting behind Farv for years, loosened up his mechanics and kind of not mimicked,

but sort of looked like he borrowed some of Farv stuff, which is great. You know, Farv's, legend. And then Aaron has his style, gets noisy at the end in Green Bay. Here's Jordan Love, much like Aaron, late first rounder, had a good arm, there was a lot of talent. Then he sits behind Aaron. And then when you watch Jordan Love play this last year, he also, not mimicking, but shares some of Aaron Rogers' qualities, especially with his feet. He sometimes throws sort of off the ground, which nobody else does. But Aaron Rogers and now Jordan Love, they do it. repeatedly. So it is interesting.

Green Bay, the Rogers' Jordan Love's situations are the same. And, you know, the first year Aaron started, he was super talented, but they were like six and ten, lost some close games. He knew he was super talented. And this year, Jordan Love started really slow, got good at the end. The NFC is weaker now. He did get to the playoffs. But at the end of Aaron's first year, didn't make the playoffs, but your takeaway was, this dude's talented. end of Jordan Love's year you're like this dude is talented so it's just so interesting how farv got noisy

Aaron got quiet took over and you had a great 10 year run Aaron gets noisy moves quiet Jordan Love comes in focused on football it's the Green Bay quarterback's syndrome whatever it is do they feel under respected ignored in Green Bay whatever it is Farv and Rogers love and Rogers they feel so similar to me and I think Green Bay is looking at this presidential nominee thing. And I mean, I don't know how they feel about Aaron now. I'm sure they feel like they sort of won. But you have to admit, the Green Bay people are probably looking at this thinking,

this is what you get. You know, when you hang around people who monetize headlines and have big opinions and that's fine. That's fine with me. I don't care. Vote for who you want. But I do think the Packers are watching this going, we got out of that space.

And Green Bay, for the record, went and upgraded. Many believe it running back. So Jordan Love, like early Aaron, he got a lot of weapons to play with.
