Ah, here we go. Hour number two in a Tuesday. Live in L.A., it's the herd. Wherever you may be and however you may be listening, IHeart Radio, Fox Sports Radio, FS1. Last night, made myself nachos at about 9 o'clock. I knew they weren't good for me, but I got to tell you something, when a man is left alone, my wife's out of town,

when a man is left alone to his own devices, the winner is always nachos. And I don't care about the repercussions. I'll worry about that down the road, I had nachos, homemade nachos last night. Did you chicken nachos? Not chicken nachos, but I put a lot on them, a lot of peppers, a lot of sauce, a lot of cheese. I'm going to taste up.

I was the winner last night in my house. That was my kingdom and I won going away. That was your dinner? No, that was post dinner and I knew I didn't eat it. But I just, I was in a mood. And a lot of times, you know, I didn't have anything to play for, right? Like it was, I already got the title. I own the house.

Nobody was there, not even the dogs. So I was just playing for myself last night. It's, you just have nacho ingredients at your house? Oh, yeah. Always have chips. I love salt. Always have salsa somewhere in the house. And cheese.

I mean, it's America. We got cheese. Yeah, I mean, I always have cheese. All right. So, and then you just make stuff happen. You find a pepper. You find a lime. You squeeze some stuff on.

It's amazing what you can do. And again, I got nothing but time because I'm home alone. So, you know, I'm making dinners. Are you, I got another process of this. So are you, are you, like, mixing, are you baking them? or are you like, like, are you melting the cheese? You microwave it. Okay.

Not that patient. Not getting crazy. Boy, it was great. It was a real win for me. It was, I felt like I almost felt like, you know, yeah, you got to run the score up sometimes. Exactly. So you just got to run the score up. Congratulations.

You know, I've been, I've been Mr. Negative. I'm on, as I do this TV show, I'm on radio in Los Angeles. And, you know, I've been on radio in Los Angeles for like 20 years. So people have put up with me for a long. time and sometimes they turn me off and sometimes they hate me and but I'm not a kind of blow fluff guy like if the team's good I'll say it if a team's bad I'll say it I've been very Mr. negative Lakers because I mean it's it's they just don't have enough components I said it after three games they don't shoot the three particularly well they don't defend it particularly

well they've got no bench and they're way too old it's exactly what's transpired old teams get hurt more that's why you want contributing youth you want young players young players bang a knee they may miss a game old guy have been bangs and knee, he goes on the IR. You want young players. They don't have to be great in the postseason, but young players get you through a regular season, get you better seating. They're not, they don't miss as many games.

So, Shack said this yesterday, and I will tell you this, I have this sourced. LeBron does not want to leave L.A. He loves L.A. He loves L.A. and the Lakers don't want to move off him. But they have told him, this is your mess. We didn't want Westbrook. It's a disaster.

He's hard to move. We're not making wild swings. wings here. This is not Cleveland. We're not doing it. So Shaq defended LeBron on CNBC yesterday. If you trade LeBron, you'll never win again. So you have to, you know, make a decision. If you put LeBron around the right guys, he's definitely going to win. So, you know, I think whoever put that team together needs to step up and try to

fix it. All right. Well, you could, you know, listen, they lost Kareem and Magic and, you know, Lakers have moved off. They moved off Shaq, and they still won. So, But working under the assumption, and I hear this a lot, well, you got into the LeBron business. You just have to understand when you get into the LeBron business, you've got a deal with some of his leverage. Yeah, they did. It's called the Anthony Davis trade. They gave away all their young players and picks.

They did. It's called the Westbrook deal. The Lakers have done that. So let's get past this, you know, who's got the next chess piece? Let's get over that. The Lakers and LeBron are in a business relationship together, and he's a player and an employee and they're the franchise. Jeannie Buss could trade him tomorrow.

Well, at the end of the year. He's still an employee. So let's not worry about the egos here. Let's fix it. Okay, let's solve it. They're in a business relationship. Lakers don't want to get rid of the LeBron, and LeBron does not want to leave L.A.

Star athletes love L.A. I know there are conservative news outlets that tell you nobody wants to live here. Yeah. You know where they don't want to live? Indianapolis. They like living here. We got good weather. So let's look at what the best teams in the league. Who are they? Let's identify teams that I think, you know, kind of feel like they're in that championship bubble. Phoenix, let's put them up here for you. Grizzly Suns Warriors out west. They kind of feel like they're going to be a little viable teams. And let's go, Bucks, Bulls, heat, 76ers. I don't, give me a break on Brooklyn. As Joy said yesterday, that's a next year team.

Like, you ain't winning that. come on they got moving parts everywhere bucks bulls heat 77 that's seven teams so one of the four components those teams have um contributing youth young players uh at least two stars strong chemistry great guard play okay a lot of them have good bench play but i didn't put that in there because the sixers don't they got a weak bench so you got two stars strong chemistry contributing youth great guard play. So the Lakers have the first one. Now, they're not healthy all the time, but they have two stars. Let's be glass half full here. Anthony Davis and LeBron are really, really good stars. So let's put that up again. So do they have great chemistry? No, I'll get to that

in a second. Contributing root youth. No, I'll get to that in a second. Great guard play. Well, I'm going to make an argument. They do have great guard play. It's called LeBron. Like Milwaukee and Yonis, they run their offense through a big. The Lakers run their offense through LeBron. Memphis does it through Job. Golden State does it through Chris Paul. Most teams do it. You know, Miami does it through Kyle Lowry.

That's not what Milwaukee does. They kind of run it through Yonis, and it's not what the Lakers do. They run it through LeBron. So that is their guard play. And LeBron's great. So let's go with, they've got two stars. they've got sufficient guard play. Now let's go to the other two.

Very good young players. That one I can't solve. It's not a great draft. You don't have a lot of picks. And teams in the NBA cling to the young ascending players who are cheap. That one you'll have to figure out. But the chemistry piece is kind of solvable. Because I think LeBron gets along with A.D.

And Mello and Reeves and Stanley Jones. Johnson, and I do think they like Vogel. I think they get along fine. Westbrook ruins the chemistry. He's a star. He wants to be treated like it. Vogel doesn't like him as a player. He doesn't play off the ball. You got to move Westbrook.

And you'll be able to do that once the season ends. So you got the stars. The offense goes through LeBron. You're fine there. You can elevate chemistry. Now, you do have a bunch of old guys. There's only six guys guaranteed to be on the roster next year. There's only six guarantee players for the Lakers to be on the roster. Stanley Johnson,

you can keep. Kendrick Nunn, M. Taylor Horton Tucker, whatever. Anthony Davis stays. LeBron stays. You got to move Westbrook. And then you solve, in my opinion, the chemistry issue. Chemistry was great in the bubble. LeBron and AD like each other. And Bill Orham of the athletic covers the Lakers talked about the Westbrook piece yesterday. There has to be a move made with Westbrook, barring something just unimaginable. You're going to have two draft picks this summer, two first-round draft picks for 2027 and 2029. So, you know, far off, right? But you can use those to incentivize, you know, getting someone else to take the last year

of Russ's $48 million contract. And you're going to take back somebody else's money, but that might at least be players who fit a little bit better alongside LeBron, guys who are comfortable playing more of a role alongside LeBron and Anthony Davis. And then you're going to be in the same position where you are building it out with minimum contracts again. You're invested in this, at least this duo, Anthony Davis and LeBron James still represent your best path to being a contender. And remember, you'll trade Westbrook. You'll probably have to inherit bad contracts. But as long as they work with Evan Fornier, Knicks,

people talk about, they need a shooter, nice guy, been in the league a while to better fit than Westbrook. Because I do think you got two stars, get Westbrook out the chemistry's fine, And not that Westbrook's a bad guy. It just doesn't work. Listen, man, you can be best friends, Hardin and Westbrook. If the team don't work, the relationship doesn't work. That's the reaction. Joy and I can be best friends.

If the show suck when we were together, it would hurt the relationship. Like, you got to get along at work. You got to make work work, or it doesn't. Stafford and Sean McVeigh could have totally separate interests. They're good together. Relationship works. You got to, it's got to work at work. And so that was Mr. Positive.

I mean, seriously, right there. That was very positive. Everybody should love that, right? I thought it was very well put. Now, if we can just find someone to take that Westbrook contract. Well, it's an expiring contract. You can move it. You can definitely move it at the trade deadline.

Can you move it early? We'll see. But you can move it. And by the way, you don't have to be great in December, January, in the NBA. That's not when championships are decided. You don't worry about that. I don't worry about them being average early. What I worry about is they're good late.

You'd like to, you know, get the chemistry going earlier, though, especially for a LeBron team. Like there's, you know, there's a ramp up to teams that he's on. I'll tell you, this next guest is very controversial. Well, he was last week. Greg Jennings, former Packer, 11 years in the NFL 10. Fox Sports. So here's what's funny.

So you came out and talked about salary. Aaron said it's categorically false. But I now have a second reporter that I trust, Ian Rappaport, that has come out and said, yeah, they're working on a contract to make him a highest paid player. and although Aaron said it's categorically false, Mahomes makes $45 million a year, and if you're the highest rated player, it's going to be close to 50.

So I said this earlier today. The vaccination, he wasn't up front. The story that broke the day of the draft, he wasn't up front. And he's now saying it's categorically false. He wants to be the highest paid player. I have now two reporters saying he wants to be the highest paid player. And I said this earlier.

I said, Aaron's moved into an area where he's just kind of sometimes making stuff up. Whether he's protecting himself, his brand, but when he talks now, I'm being honest. It's a little bit of an eye roll because I do think he wants to be highly compensated. What did you make of it when your talks and concerns about his salary were pushed back at you as if you just made it up? Well, for starters, a lot of times, as players, when you play in this league and you hear these reports, like there's, there's, there's, always something behind a report. There's very few times where the reports that are out there are just completely left field and they're off. Very few times because people talk,

whether it's in the organization or it's the player or people around them. Having said that, for me, once the reports was out there about him wanting to be the highest paid player, I believe that. I truly believe that because players want two things. especially at this stage in their career. They either want to be in the business of making money. How much can they make on their way out? And can they win? And so in my opinion, Aaron Rogers is not completely sold out like a Tom Brady

or LeBron James when it comes to being all in whatever it takes to just win. I don't believe that to be the case. However, I do believe that he is in the business of making sure that he is well compensated and he is leveraging his leverage based on what you tried to do to me a few years ago with Jordan Love. Yeah. I just believe that to be true. Now, you can say it isn't or whatever you want to say, but the proof will be in the pudding when they finalize whatever deal that they're trying to get done.

We'll see what it has to be and what it looks like. But it's always about the money in a situation where you can win. If one or the other outweighs, if I was to tip my hat to one of the other, it's going to be about the money. Yeah. By the way, he said it wouldn't take long to make a decision. Green Bay, they do not like to go public. Their history is they like to keep stuff in-house.

But we have two stories now. And I think it comes from the Green Bay side, not the Aaron side, because Aaron doesn't want it out. it comes from the Green Bay side, they are now creating a massive two-year contract to make him the highest-paid guy. And I think Green Bay is doing this for a reason, because they don't know what he's doing. And if he leaves, they can say, you saw the stories.

It won money. I don't think they have a clue. And I don't blame him on this. They are protecting themselves if he leaves. And I think they think it's 50-50. That's my interpretation. You. So I do think they have a clue.

You think so. I really do believe that they, I do believe that they have a clue. However, I am 100% in and subscribe to the fact that they've been protecting themselves. When you talk about an organization and you said it, they've always kept things in-house. Well, this off-season and even starting last off-season, it's been, you know what, we're doing everything that we can within reason to make sure and to ensure that we have the best possible chance of retaining Aaron Rogers and his skill set. They want that not only to be known to the media, but more importantly to their fan base, because optics are everything.

You want to always in a relationship like this that can go one way or the other, if Aaron goes off, like Tom Brady, when he left New England, and then he goes and went, you don't want it to be up. They should have kept them because he wanted to stay. and they pushed him out. They don't want that. They've gone through that before when Aaron was the backup and Brett Farr was the starter and they pushed him out. And so right now you see them making sure that they share all that they've been doing to support the cause of we're trying to win now with you, Aaron Rogers. So I agree with that part. I do believe they have an idea of what he wants to do. And I think Devante Adams plays a huge role in. that idea. Now, T.J. Hushmanzado said yesterday he thinks he's gone. Mercedes-Lewis had sort of an ambiguous tweet about don't get locked into the past, look to the future. I know Mercedes well enough. He doesn't go on Twitter and make stuff up. He says stuff when he knows stuff, when he's got a

strong vibe. Are you this morning subscribing to Aaron and Green Bay or Aaron leaving? I'm subscribing to Aaron and Green Bay. Okay. I just don't, I just subscribe to that because for me, when I look at the quarterbacks that are willing to leave, like the Russell Wilson and his whatever's going on in Seattle, Aaron Rogers, obviously we're talking about. And then the Kyla Merr, Kyla Merr is the only personality that I really feel like will completely go against the grain and will stick to his gun. I just don't believe Aaron Rogers is that bold to say, you know what, hey, screw it. They've tried everything I've still won out by because he's going to have to force himself out or they're going to have to agree to a destination that both parties are okay with

and they're going to receive assets. I just don't see that happening. Yeah. By the way, Eric Burckhardt texted me yesterday. He wants to talk to me, the agent for Kyler. Hey, well, Ryan, what are you doing? I didn't tell you that this morning. Well, I didn't think it was going to lead the show. So I said stuff about Eric Burkart. I didn't like this whole thing they put out there yesterday. I thought was terrible. So he called me. He wants to talk to me. We're going to yell at each other. Anyway, that's not the point. Who cares about me? But the point, I will say this.

The point is, Kyler's a real wild card. A couple years ago, before he was drafted, he sat down with Dan Patrick and did the strangest interview I've ever seen. So I thought, okay, he's different. You know, he's a baseball guy. That's a little different. They brought in veterans to the team because he wasn't what they call the classic

sort of quarterback leader guy. So let's just be honest. Aaron is different. Kiler is different. It's not bad. Jay Cutler. It's a lot of stuff. All these guys aren't the same.

And we want them all to be, you know, coachable and Patrick Mahalms or Alex Smith or Dak. It's not the way the world works. Some people have their stuff. So the Kyler-Marie thing is fascinating because I'll take Arizona side for a second. You didn't run in the last playoff game. You essentially didn't want to get hurt. You had the fewest rush attempts in your career in a playoff game.

We didn't, that was not the game plan. You didn't want to get hurt. You're already being paid. You've been difficult. We've had to bring in leaders because you're not a leader. You're a different personality that makes, you know, some of us here, we're not in love with it. All that said, what would you do if you ran Arizona? Would you pay him a year early?

He's small. He's been hurt twice. What would you do? You can't pay him. Wow. Well, they've created this problem. And it was a good friend, Larry Fitzgerald. He loves the organization.

Obviously, everyone in Arizona loves him. I remember sitting down and talking to him and asking him about Kyler, and he said one of the things that he felt was that they rolled out the red carpet too soon. Too soon for a young guy. They gave him everything that he wanted, anything he had free reign, and it started to show in his personality and the way he carried himself. When you do that, when you make that decision, early, you set yourself up to fail. And this is what, this is what has happened in that organization

right now with Kyla Murray. You, you've already given them everything that he's ever asked for. You wrote out the red carpet, you turned over the car keys and said, here, this is your car, this is, we go as you go. And now all of a sudden, he doesn't want to drive that car anymore. He wants a brand new car. And he wants, hey, look, he wants it shiny. And you have to now make a decision, a tough one, because he controls how good you are. Now, you can make a decision and say, you know what? We'll let you, we'll make this ugly and we'll let you go and we'll do all these different things. And Kyler can say I'll hold out. But I believe he has that type of personality to where he's going to bet on himself. He understands his talent and what he means to that and his

value to that organization. So for me, I think he's progressed. You ask what I pay him. He's progressed as a player. He's gotten better each and every season. He's allowed them to win more and then getting into the playoffs. Each and every season, they've gotten better. However, when you compare him to the quarterbacks that are making 40 plus million dollars, which is around the range of what he's going to be asking for, has he done enough to say, we can pay you that? I don't think that's the case. Yeah, no playoff wins yet. I said yesterday the two things, I said this about Aaron Rogers. I'm not paying you to win the NFC North. 15 quarterbacks in the league can win that crappy division. The bottom line with Aaron, and I said, two things I'll pay you as a

quarterback. Playoff production. Because if you're good, you're going to win regular season games. I'm not paying you to beat, you know, the Raiders if you're Justin Herbert. I'm paying you to beat Mahomes and get the playoff game. That's where the 45 million comes. The second thing is personality matters. I would not have paid Jay Cutler too much. Aaron's in a space now. That's a negative for me. Kiler's a little different. Like, I think the Kiler thing, what you say about Larry Fitzgerald's fascinating because we all know he's talented, but it does show that if we're going to back up the Brinks

truck, like the personality becomes it's a big deal because the franchise is basically handing you the keys financially. And, you know, I think what your discussion with Larry Fitzgerald is fascinating. All right. So you think Aaron's staying. I got you on record. I appreciate that. Absolutely. I think he's staying. Okay.

Where does he go? Where can't control it? Those orange uniforms are very attractive in the fall. Leaves are orange. The uniforms are orange. Very attractive. All right, Greg, thank you. Yeah, that's interesting.

That is interesting. Larry Fitzgerald says they rolled out the red carpet too soon. Changed his personality. It does. It does, right? I always tell you my cat story. My cousin Kathy found a cat. It was on the street, stray cat, no hair in Oregon, and she fed it milk and tuna fish for a month.

Hair grew back. And then one day she didn't have milk and tuna fish. This is a cat. And she gave it like kibbles. And the cat put up its paws like, talk to the paw. Nope, I want milk. You got, you know what I mean? Like trust fund kids, they don't have the aspirational kind of.

Yeah, but that was a stray. Kyler Murray is the, you know, disgust is the greatest. I know I'm saying. I'm not saying that. I'm just saying like everybody. It doesn't matter if it's humans. It doesn't matter if it's hard. You know,

it's hard to go. It's like the UFC thing. You know, it's hard to go back to getting punched in the face for a living when you're sleeping on silk sheets. Yeah, like Connor McGregor as a whiskey company, he's like,

I don't know, sure if I want to get punched in the head anymore. Yeah. I mean, it does change things. But I would also say it's a pretty miserable life without a franchise quarterback. And Tyler Murray's pretty good.

That's why I would pay him. So he's kind of there because you drafted a quarterback who wasn't very good and now you also have your jobs because of Kyler Murray. Yeah, I would pay him. I would pay Kyler Murray, yes. Yeah, but 55 makes me uncomfortable. Look,

the money is the money, right? Like, if you pay a franchise guy franchise money and that's the deal you make. You don't pay a bridge guy franchise money. Don't pay an average guy franchise money. All right. A lot of big decisions here in America. I know I made mine last night.

Doing a pretty good job right now. What happened? They were planning last night, weren't they? They were leading when I watched in the first half. 112.99. All right. Gabe Vincent and Tyler Hero, each out of 20 points. and Jimmy Butler and Bam at a bio each scored 15.

They led by as much as 24 at one points. And the Bulls miss 14 of their first 15 three-pointers. So that does tend to happen when you are taking risky shots like that and not hitting them. DeMarrazen's streak of 10 consecutive games with least 30 points ended. So he finished with 18 points. And Miami is now won nine of their last 10 games. Playing very good basketball. They have beat the Bulls all three times they have faced them this season.

And the heat hold the head-to-head tiebreaker. So currently in the Eastern Conference, the heat are in first place at 41 and 21. Bulls and seconds, sixers, third, bucks, fourth. Then you have the Cavs, Celtics, Raptors, and Nets rounding out the top eight. Heroes had a very good bounce back year. He's probably going to win six men of the year. Yeah, he's had a good bounce back year. Good player.

Yeah, I mean, I think he's, we had Jimmy Butler on the show on Friday when you are out, and he said he's matured a lot. Yeah. He's gotten into more of a comfortable place. And I think it happens with young players. He burst on the scene in the bubble. It's Miami. It's Miami.

Maybe you go through a little bit of a process. And now he's more comfortable and confident in his play. I said earlier in the show, I think that this is a really unique situation for the NBA this year. There's just a lot of parity. And it's exciting. It's not something that we generally have in the NBA. The NFL is much more of a parody league.

You go into the postseason with a few teams that you think could make a run. You generally don't have that in the NBA. It's usually the Warriors or it's the team that LeBron is on. It's not the case this year. Well, yeah. I mean, I think Phoenix is the best team in the league when Chris Paul's healthy, but now suddenly he's not. I think Phoenix is going to win it because I think Chris Paul is going to come back.

Phoenix is good enough and has a big enough lead in the West. And they also, they can win on the road. I mean, they went to the finals. So they're a team now that's been to the finals. The seating becomes less important once you've gone through the gauntlet. Yes. So I think Phoenix is going to win it. I've watched a lot of Milwaukee because when I work out in the afternoon,

four, it's like 630 or 7 in Milwaukee, so I get the first half all the bucks games. Yeah. They won last night. They're good. They're not as good as last year, but there is part of me that watches them and thinks, well, they won the championship. The NBA is the one sport, baseball and football aren't. The NBA is the one sport. You can flip a switch.

I've seen it done a hundred times by teams that have won a title. They have a lethargic, you know, regular season. Well, they just realize that getting through, especially this part of the game. the regular season is about being healthy. So that's what's so interesting about it because you have the heat who were just in the finals two years ago. You have the Bucks who just won the championship. That's sort of why I don't have as much faith in the Bulls because this is a team,

a group that hasn't been all the way through yet. And look, the NBA postseason is a long postseason. It's a long series. It's a long process. You want to get through all of it healthy. And sometimes you just have these great regular season teams that don't necessarily have enough to get through one of those series. But the Warriors are another team that have that experience, the sun.

So I think it's just going to be a really fun postseason. I agree. Totally agree. And there's just a lot of young, exciting players that are, you know, bursting out of scene. You're going to have a lot of long series. Yes. You're going to have, there's nobody here that's going to fly through it. Phoenix first round would fly through it. That's really like what becomes tedious in the NBA postseason is, you know,

you have these complete mismatches with these teams that are loaded that you know are just going to breeze through to the finals. I don't think that's going to happen this year. So the Lakers are making some roster changes after their disappointing loss on Sunday to the Pelicans. According to Shams Sharania, they are waving D'Andre Jordan to clear a roster spot for veteran point guard, DJ Augustine. Yes. He will serve as a backup to Russell Westbrook. He most recently played for the Rockets. He waved him in February after 34 appearances this season, including two starts.

He can hit an occasional jumper. He's a career 38% three-point shooter. Averages 5.4 points per game, 40.4%. from the floor. DeAndre Jordan did a nice job of the Lakers, 32 games, 4.1 points, 5.4 rebounds. But according to Woj, the Sixers are interested in signing Jordan to back up Joel and B. Because they let Drummond go, so they need size. Yes, they do. So no one is certain of where Aaron Rogers is going to end up next season, but the Packers want to make sure they have a plan in place if Aaron Rogers decides to stay. According to Ian Rappaport, the Packers and Rogers

representation are working on a deal that he will remain in Green Bay. It would be a short-term deal that would make Rogers the highest paid player in the NFL on a per year basis. And the Packers GM said last week that Green Bay's off season plans for resigning free agents all hinge on Rogers decisions, as they should. And so is the rest of the NFL. Everyone is sort of in a holding pattern waiting for Aaron Rogers. I'm with you. I don't, there's no reason to believe anything Aaron Rogers says at this point.

You lost that privilege. Yeah. Now, what he's going to do, where he's going to go, none of us know, when we can't predict also because of the fact that we, can't really take his word at face value. You can't anymore. You can't be a sucker in life. When somebody lies a third time.

Yeah. And that's it's your prerogative if you want to lie. I don't care. It's not changing my life. Listen, we got to go to lie. But then I don't believe you anymore. Yeah, well, I mean, we had somebody that was president who just made crap up every day. Like people, a lot of people are okay being lied to.

A lot. No, they want to be lied to. Yeah. I don't care if you lie to me. But if you lie to me, I don't believe you. I don't believe you anymore. There are consequences to decisions that you make. It's not like I'm not upset about it.

I'm not triggered. just don't believe you. But the situation with the Packers and with the rest of the league is all waiting on Aaron Rogers. I'm torn day by day by what's happening here. Part of me feels like he's just trying to figure out what the best exit strategy is from the Packers, and that's what they're working on. That's what's taking so long because it has been weeks since the season has been over

and even longer since his season has been over. And then the other part of me, this report comes out and I'm like, yeah, they're probably just working on a deal privately for him to stay. But at the end of the day, I'm just, the story in Green Bay is just, I've seen it. I've seen the movie. Yeah, I get it. This particular movie is going to be different because they're up against the cap, so it's not going to be as talented as a team as you had this year.

And now if you're talking about an increased amount of money, that's even less money available for players. So I just feel like I'm not excited about the Green Bay Packers next year if this happens. I mean, I know he's going back to the exact same way. They'll be good. They'll be good, but I can't take them seriously as a Super Bowl content. tender. It's just like when Lincoln Riley left Oklahoma. They'll be good.

Not championship team. Good. Why is that a sneak in an Oklahoma job? It's not a jab. It's just honesty. They'll be good. The good team, good nine-win program. No, they will be good. But they're not going to be as talented as they were this year and they were the number one seed

in the NFC. Nine, ten wins, not 11-12. That space is done. You're talking about it. All right, Joey with it. Are you done? Yes. Joy with him. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by.

The Heard Lie News. Everybody complains about dynasties, but they're good for sports because the ratings go up. So you determine they're good. And dynasties are very interesting. We always tend to think dynasties happen because somebody's just so great. And that's part of it. But a lot of what creates a dynasty is you get this momentum around you because there's so much dysfunction around you. There is no quote.

When Tom Brady broke into the NFL, Peyton Manning was in his division. the Colts were. If the NFL doesn't break that up, Tom Brady's not winning all those Super Bowls. Tom Brady's not getting home field advantage in a buy. Not saying Brady and Belichick aren't great. It helped. LeBron James in the Eastern Conference.

He ain't getting to the finals every year in the West, as great as Jordan was. He could never get through Bird and McAil or the Pistons when their best players were young. What happened is they got old, the Knicks and the Knicks and the Pacers didn't have enough offensive weaponry. And I'm not saying the Bulls weren't great,

but they couldn't get through the pistons. And they never beat the best magic teams. Like, let's be honest, Bird without magic would have won six titles. Magic without Bird would have won nine titles. Like, your obstacles determine it really helped Yukon women's basketball that Pat Summit, they took it over from Pat.

Pat aged. They weren't quite as dynamic. It's not saying they wouldn't have one title. But if Tennessee in their prime, Yukon in their prime, they would have gone back and forth, back and forth. So there's a next dynasty happening in sports, and it's right in front of us.

And you can try to guess on this, but it's right in front of us. And a lot of it is on this Aaron Rogers situation. I'll explain it coming up next. You need opponents to get old. You need a great star quarterback to change teams. And I mean, you obviously have to have, you have to be great.

But if you look at the next dynasty in sports, you can make a really strong argument. It's the Rams. So McVeigh is an A-plus coach. It's over. He got Gough to a Super Bowl. He got Stafford there to win one. He's A-plus. And unlike Belichick or Mike Tomlin, he's on the right side of the ball going forward.

They also have an A-A-A-plus GM who's literally created a different way of doing business. They don't even go to the combine. We also know that Matt Stafford, for all those who question him, has sort of a Tom Brady fourth quarter thing that is indisputable. He is absolutely better than Aaron Rogers in big moments in the fourth quarter. Stafford was the highest rated fourth quarterback in the league. 14 TDs, no picks. So they have all those things. But the other component to great, Nick Saban goes to the SEC.

Auburn's been a mess. A&M was mostly irrelevant. Georgia couldn't get their act together for years. Florida's a mess. Tennessee was a mess. Now Georgia's got a legitimate coach. They just beat Bama. And Texas A&M has a big boy coach.

They just beat Bama. Okay. I'm not saying Saban wouldn't have won a lot of titles, but Pete Carroll dominated the PAC 12 in college football for about five years. You want to know why? Because the rest of the conference was a mess.

UCLA was a mess. Oregon was a mess. The minute Chip Kelly went to Oregon and Harbaugh showed up at Stanford, USC didn't dominate the conference. Part of it is your greatness. A big part of this stuff is getting home field advantage, is dominating recruiting,

is weakness to your contemporary rivals. Look at the rambority. right now in the NFC. Is anybody paying attention to what's happening? 16 teams in each conference. 10 of the 16 teams. Remember, Brady's out of the NFC now.

Drew Brees and Sean Payton are out. So two big rivals, Saints, Bucks, gone. Aaron could be. Of the 16 NFC teams, 10 are not Super Bowl threats. Bears, bucks, commanders, Eagles, Falcons, Giants, Giants,

Vikings, lions, lions, lions, Saints, Vikings. Stop. They're not. They're not. That leaves six left of which the Rams are won. So look at the five other teams they have to compete against. Cardinals, major drama. Do we know if Cliff Kingsbury is a great coach?

Cowboys, I think we all agree. Rams have a significant quarterback and head coach, and I would argue, GM advantage. Packers, drama, Seahawks, drama. Niners? Formidable, but we don't know what we're getting with Trey Lance. folks, it's weak. It is weak.

Kansas City's got to go through a gauntlet. If Aaron Rogers leaves Green Bay to Denver, it is your conference. You have arguably the best GM in the conference. You have arguably the best coach in the conference. I say you do, not arguably. You would. You have as good a big game fourth quarter quarterback as the conference has. I mean, if Aaron leaves the conference, who would you take?

Stafford Russell Wilson, list's pretty short. So is, with Brady and Breeze both leaving the NFC, those teams go from viable contenders. I mean, Saints gave Tom Brady trouble. Done. Tampa, done. Green Bay potentially. Done.

Pretty interesting. It's not just you. A lot of anybody's growth is, what did my rivals do? They got, I mean, the NFC, listen, I work for Fox. We want the NFC to be good. We televise the NFC games. Aaron Rogers leaving hurts our product. Like, Aaron Rogers matters.

We put them on seven times a year. Like, Aaron doesn't show up in the one o'clock window a lot. Like, we put them in the late window as often as we can. Dallas Cowboys being viable. We put them in the late window as often as we can. Rams are not as formidable a national team as you think, even though the Super Bowl number was great. I mean, they're new in L.A.

So, but if you start looking around what's happening right now, Rams are very, very highly possible to be the next, you know, you can say Kansas City, but folks, look at their division. Look at the quarterbacks, Burrow and Allen and Herbert and Carr and Lamar. It just keeps going and going. And we saw it this year with them. This John Morant stuff, I know he's great, but I want to remind you, fans in the media have fallen for this five times in the last 12 years. It's called John Walt. It's called Westbrook.

It's called Derek Rose. Derek Rose was every bit John Morant. He literally took over social media. He took over cable TV. I am very skeptical about the long-term championship odds for springy athletic guards that drive and score. The multiple MVP guard winners, Magic with 3, Stephwood 2, Nashwood 2 are distributors and shooters. The guys that knock your socks off, the little guys. that drive to the basket because they're not great shooters do not last.

Wall, hurt, Westbrook, multiple hurt. Start looking at him. Derek Rose was every bit John Morant, but he was not a great shooter. He had to finish at the rim, and he got hurt. Right now, John Morant is second in the league in paint scoring behind a center. Yonkich. So I'm not disputing any of this. The highlights last night were incredible, but I've seen us do this over and over and over and over again.

is he has got to at some point. He's a good distributor, not great. He's good. He's got to pull up. He's not big. And Darryl Morey told me a week ago, you have no idea how physical it is in the NBA around the rim.
