This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
Listen to Hey, Jonas, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast.
Just listen.
We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy.
Not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the ice.
Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever
reported on, a Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud.
But how long can this alliance last?
Tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me?
Listen to Kingdom of Fraud on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports
and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories,
their reactions in the moment and the stuff nobody gets to hear.
Listen to SportsSlice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
And for more, follow Timbo Slic Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok.
Thanks for listening to The Heard podcast.

You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Oh, lucky you.
Friday.
Kavino and Rich in for Colin on the herd.
A true pleasure as I know what Kavino's doing.
You'll be watching the Yankees scratching your ass later.
You've got your road colors on, your gray and navy blue.
Look at you.
Can't wait, dude.
I'm so pumped.
Baseball's back.
The weekend is here.
Soto hit a bomb tonight in his first game at City Field
has a bet? I hope not,
but yeah, this is a good chance to that.
That would be sweet.
I haven't forgiven them.
We'll talk about that later on.
People and players, you just can't forgive.
That doesn't mean I hate him.
I mean, I kind of hate him, but not really.
Again, we're at Covino and Rich on social media,
at Steve Covino, at Rich Davis.
Remember to catch our podcast.
Search Covino and Rich, wherever you stream your podcast.
And guess what, Herd Nation?
We're having a big party, doing a live broadcast,
and everybody's invited.
This is your invite.
Don't expect an e-vi or a personal text.
This is it.
We're going to be in Vegas,
June 20th, 21st, and 22nd.
So book your flights now.
Details to come.
We're going to have a party.
We're going to have events.
Three days of fun.
We've done it in the past,
but this is a huge party.
Hundreds, thousands of people showing up.
Meet some Fox Sports Radio listeners.
Friends of ours.
We've been doing this for a long time.
So come and hang with us.
We're celebrating.
And if you can only make it one day in Vegas, make it 21st, because that'll be the big party night.
June 20th, 21st, 22nd.
I know a lot of the Fox Sports radio crew will be there.
So again, like you said, June 20th to the 22nd.
What not to look at?
The stock market.
What to look at?
The highlights of that Lakers Warriors game last night.
We talked about that.
Man, that was an electric atmosphere.
The game was so fun.
So much back and forth.
If you missed hour one of the herd today, we talked about,
what do we really want out of the Western Conference in the playoffs?
Because OKC is just so damn good, but is that what we really want?
Do we lean towards the nostalgia of one more time, like a Brady Manning?
How many times there was a point where you're like, come on, one more time.
Do you want Steph and LeBron to battle one more time?
Is that who you want to emerge from the West?
And don't forget, we have affiliates listening in Colorado screaming at their radios.
What about the nuggets?
What about the Joker?
Best Nuggets, Chick-fil-A?
By far.
Royd Rogers back in the day.
No, but I'll be honest to the Joker, you can't count him out.
And to be honest, I don't know if anyone has a big man that could play against Yolkits in those big situations.
In fact, some argue I heard Adam Shine.
For our old pallet serious X-M.
Unbelievable.
Hey, who's better than you, Adam Shine?
My guys.
I heard that Adam Shine.
Adam Shine.
Who?
talking about how perhaps the Lakers with Anthony Davis before the trade matched up better if they were to bump into the Denver Nuggets.
Well, you could say that for the Lakers against the Warriors as well.
The one thing that I felt, one mistake, I feel like the Lakers made, we talked about it in hour one where they didn't lock down on defense until towards the end of the game, which, you know, is just an effort thing.
What about driving to the hoop?
The Warriors are a much smaller team than the Lakers on their starting front line.
The tallest player was Jimmy playoffs at 6-7.
The Lakers went into a shooting contest against the Warriors.
You're not going to beat the Warriors like that usually.
There was a moment in the fourth quarter where they were going three for three for three.
And in my mind, I'm like, this is sweet and all, but the Warriors win this battle.
Drive to the hoop, Lakers.
That's what they should have done.
And I think in an extended series against the Warriors, they would make that adjustment.
You know what's interesting?
am I
you back me on this thought
or you think I'm
incorrect
in all the major sports
football
we've accepted over the years
Are we including hot dog eating?
You know what?
Add that
Yeah the four majors
Football, baseball basketball, basketball,
basketball, basketball,
and hot dog eating
Okay, just making sure
Though I did go to a king's game
the other night
Always fun to go to hockey live
Then I get back to reality
I'm like, man, I'm not going to watch on TV
But I love going to a hockey game
I digress
We've accepted
over the years because it's been proven.
Defense wins championships
in football. We've seen it
with the Steelers before a lot of us were born.
Steel Curtin, we saw
it with teams at the 80s, the
90s, the Ravens, the
Seahawks. There have been teams
where defense has... Denver. Denver.
Defensive
have carried teams. So we acknowledge
defense wins. Other sports,
we still don't
accept the fact that defense
is such a big part of the game.
you watch baseball.
A team makes one error.
That could be the difference in the ball game.
A great outfielder tracks out of fly ball that a bad fielder would have let bounce.
No, no.
Aaron Judge has a torpedo glove now.
He's not dropping anything.
But yeah, defense in the NBA, again, because scoring and threes and, you know, back in the day, dunks.
Everyone loves offense.
Defense will play the biggest factor in the Western Conference.
Who could lock up some of these high-power teams?
It's any edge you can get.
You're talking about the elite athletes in every sport.
So, yeah, if you could prevent anything from happening or them scoring in any way,
you're getting any advantage you can.
Defense, of course, matters.
I'm saying when you hear analysis, though, it's shocking how the NFL is the only sport
we really talk a lot about defense because you've got a whole conversation about defense in the NBA,
but it's not really that exciting conversation.
But that will be the factor if the Lakers are going to go anywhere.
The Lakers are going to go anywhere.
Luca can't have the traditional, you know.
You saw it last night.
You didn't dream on green.
If he didn't get that ball last night, the Lakers could have turned it around.
Jimmy Butler with some great defense.
You saw defense win in the fourth quarter.
Usually Luca has a much better performance playing the Warriors.
He usually shoots well against Golden State.
And so he had a bad night shooting the ball.
He contributed in other ways.
You saw those nice passes towards the end of the game.
game that got the Lakers back into it.
When they got cut it to, what was it,
105, 100. I think all of us
were like, okay, here we go. They're going to lock
that defense down. Maybe Luca is
going to find his shot. So
now, Steph scored 37.
Against the Warriors, Luca's a
deficit on the defensive side of the ball. He
needs to score 37 points for the Lakers.
No doubt. So, again,
we're Covino and Rich. Your thoughts
at Covino Enrich. We talked about
that first hour. Now, next hour,
we're going to play some games, like I said, for prizes.
right now we're going to talk about Ashton Genti
Ashton Genty
Wait is that the guy with the morning routine
No, I'm kidding
Ashton Hall
I'm joking
That guy is
Some ice sweater on my face
Yeah he's all the rage
He has his nighttime routine
I gotta rub bananas on my on my skin
I've been rubbing bananas all over my body
Banana peels
Banana peels
What do you do with the
Okay
No no no but Ashton Hall is the viral video guy
Who's all about his morning and nighttime routine
Ashton Gentie is a junior for Boise State.
This guy's a beast.
And you know a bit more about him because your girlfriend's family is from Boise.
They have, yeah, true.
And that's the first I heard of them.
I'm like, yeah, yeah.
You know, they're always talking about it.
It's huge there, right?
Season ticket holders.
And there's a lot of pride for the team.
So I've heard about this dude for a long time,
running back 5'9-215.15.
So we're talking to a tiny bridge.
house. But they compare this guy to the
the speed and agility of a
McCaffrey with the muscle tone and strength of like a
D.K. Metcalfe. They're saying that
he's a special kid. And can you
show the stats for last year? Again, 5-9-215.25 from Jacksonville
playing for Boise State. 3754 carries
over 2,000 yards, 2,6001 yards,
29 tuddies. And he averages
seven yards of carry. So again, over 2,600 yards
for Boise State. That's pretty wild. Now, that's
the stats, that's the backstory. That's what you did at Boise State. He's by far going to be
the first running back selected in the draft. And here's the update.
Raiders GM, John Spitech,
says, and I quote,
my son has made it no secret that if we don't pick Ashton Gentia at number
six that he's walking out of the family and he's going to find someone else.
So that's from, again, Raiders, GM, John SpyTech on series 6M NFL radio.
It reminds me of when the Giants Joe Shane, his son was like, Dad, you got to go with
Jayden Daniels.
And we saw that courtesy of Hard Knocks.
Those clips are released.
And you got to think to yourself, is having your kid.
who really is invested.
Like, think about when you were a teenager, right?
I'll be honest, I feel like I was as locked in as ever
when I was a teenage boy watching sports.
Because other than girls, but when I was a teenager,
you didn't have a job, you didn't have responsibilities
and a mortgage and a house and all that.
I'm not sure, you were in it.
When I was a kid, all I cared about was girls and sports.
So I feel like maybe I was even more into sports as a teenager.
I would say I was the most locked in at probably 12.
You were like baseball cards?
Yeah.
That's it.
Like you knew every stat,
you knew everything that was going on.
Not the business.
Because you had no other responsibility.
Not the business side of being a GM and making moves like that.
But when I'm talking about watching highlights,
really locking in,
is it crazy when GMs and owners take into consideration what their kids and family members say?
I'm always a fan of fresh set of eyes,
fresh set of ears.
I'm never the person that's like,
I'm in charge and Marseille's final.
I love the idea of like, in the past
we've been like with interns or young producers.
You know, if you got something cool to contribute,
let us know.
I want that new perspective.
And I wonder if you think that's ridiculous.
It sounds ridiculous.
I don't think it is when you really break it down.
I think it's ridiculous when Woody Johnson.
When you pay a guy to be the GM and he's getting his tips from his 10-year-old kid.
No, I think it's ridiculous.
I think he's 10-year-old this kid.
When Woody Johnson was not.
wanting to do a Jerry Judy deal because this kid didn't like the Madden rating.
That's, that's ridiculous.
But if you have a kid, and think about it, if you're a family that's so locked in,
think about it, your dad's a vending machine repairman.
My dad worked for the Department of Environmental Protection.
He was like an office guy.
If your dad was the GM or owner of a franchise, you don't think you would be a little more
locked in?
You don't think your family eats, breeds, and what do you think the dinner,
conversation is it's probably football.
Oh, there's no question about it.
And I get it. You're making sense of something that sounds ridiculous.
It's a matter of, you know, who has their ear?
And I'm sure everyone in his circle, his wife, his girlfriend, we've heard those stories too.
Oh, yeah, my wife was a big fan, so, you know, this is why we did it.
And also, but the kid, you know, he's a 10-year-old kid.
He's not that far off the mark because he knows the hype.
He knows what his little friends are talking about all the time.
You know, these kids are playing very big.
video games all the time.
They're watching it.
They're glued in.
They're locked in.
I understand where you're coming from, Rich.
I don't think you just, I don't think you want to hear that.
That's a high profile position.
You want to think that there's some sort of analytics or real thinking involved in the decisions
they're making for the future of the franchise.
You don't want to know that it comes over your kids' lunch discussion with his
nose-picking buddies while he's eating a sandwich out of his lunchbox.
It's crazy to think there's tech people that are millionaires and billionaires,
creating apps and all that.
you don't think they check with their little nose-picking kids and their friends do?
You're keeping your ear and I to the playground?
No longer to the streets.
Keep your ear to the playground.
You've got to know what kids are interested in if you're trying to appeal to that next generation.
So if you don't think tech people are constantly saying,
what is the younger generation doing?
Spy tech people are definitely saying that.
Because again, that's the word.
He's getting this tip and he's making this move,
hoping to make this move based on his son's choice and his son's pressure.
actually saying the pressure that his son is putting on him is too much to ignore.
So you remember when you would beg your dad to take you to Toys R Us and he'd be like,
yeah, get away from me and he'd slap you in the head?
Eat it.
Remember when you would beg your dad for a dollar because the ice cream man was down the street?
And he'd like, yeah, I don't have any.
You don't have a dollar dad?
And you'd beg this nose picking kid.
He's like, Dad, you got to get Ashton Genty.
He's putting so much pressure on him.
and he's actually listening.
That's the difference too.
Our parents wouldn't listen to anything we said.
I sure, as a Raiders fan,
I sure hope Spitex listening to his son
because this is Brady's boy from Tampa Bay
and he's known to be fond of big offensive linemen.
Okay.
And so I think a lot of the mock drafts out there
have the Jets at number seven taking Membu of Missouri.
Can you imagine a Spytex kid
going nuts if his dad
selects Armand Mambu
offensive tackle from Missouri
instead of Ashton Genty.
You know, I mean, we've heard
ridiculous stories through our, look at the
and sometimes it pans out. Look what happened
with the Dodgers and
Piazza, right? I mean, that was a
favor. So it
could work out. Either trust your kid or not,
that's really the question.
My mind changed on this, and this is by
no means disrespect.
but when we worked with Steve Phillips years ago at Sirius XM
Man what a head of hair on that guy
Great head of hair inspiring in fact
I remember him and I would always chat it up in the kitchen
About baseball and sports in general
And I realized
This guy ran my team, the Mets, for years
He's just a guy
He's just another man
He's just another human being that might have a little more inside here or there
And it's great quaff
And great hair but
He had like a Leslie Nielsen like impeccable
Bull cloth.
And from that moment on, I'm like, you know what, do they really know much more than we do?
Every year there's swings and misses in every draft.
They have to, though.
What's the whole joke?
Why are they getting paid to do this job?
What's the whole joke, though?
Look at the draft board every year.
There's misses, right?
Like, someone missed on Aaron Rogers, you know, the 49ers picked Alex Smith.
People miss Lamar Jackson and people that were taken after who, like, Josh Rosen.
Like, there's misses every year.
So a teenage kid who's like, dad, I really like this guy.
There's only silly reasons that pan out.
Didn't Jeannie Buss also admit recently that she really pulled that trigger on the Luca trade
because of how fond Kobe was of Luca?
I mean, it's an easy choice.
I get it.
But that also played into her decision to honor Kobe.
He was a big fan of Luca.
There's always like some weird decision.
It's just a matter of who has that influence on that powerful person.
I'm sure, you know, we give a lot of.
of credit to moves that managers and
GMs make. I'm sure their wives
are also in their ear all the time. I mean,
because that's who you're bouncing things off of.
You just said, Jeannie Bus. What if Jay Moore
who used to work here at the network? What if
Jay Moore is like, yeah, babe.
Yes. Luca.
Yes. I think you'd be silly
to downplay his influence.
You don't think your wife or, my wife has
influence on my decisions? That's what I'm saying.
So it's just
things we don't want to factor in
and you don't want to necessarily believe that a 10-year-old
is pulling the string here.
but that's really the story
because guess what?
His dad is the GM of the Raiders.
Your dad isn't.
Yeah, and it all goes back to, again,
Shane on the Giants,
Joe Shane, where you saw his kid laying on the couch,
doing whatever kid does.
Remember when you would land the couch,
you'd throw the football up and the ball up and catch it,
and you're just horsing around?
Dude, I couldn't get my dad to play video games with me.
Imagine getting your dad to draft Gentie?
Come on, Dad, dad, play Mario Brothers.
Yeah, I don't know.
Do you remember how hard it was to get your parents to do stuff like that with you when you were a kid?
Dude, imagine all the trades and movement and how exciting the NFL draft would be
if all the general manager's kids made the team selection in each slot.
Oh, that'd be hilarious, dude.
Imagine if kids were in charge of everything.
You know, there is something to be said, Rich, honestly.
Oh, we'd have four-day work weeks.
I got to say, that's true.
For sure.
If I was in charge of everything, we'd have four-day work weeks.
I bet you'd have better snacks in the vending machine here if kids were in charge.
Oh, without a doubt.
Without a doubt.
I think the coolest point you made was how locked in a kid really is between like 10 and 13.
Because after 13, you turn into a little pervert, right?
So now you're distracted.
But from 10 to 13, you're so locked in on video games, sports.
And most of the video games you're playing are sports related.
So you're so locked in, probably more locked in than any adult.
Adults have more distractions and responsibilities that take them away from their focus of making those right moves.
So, you know, honestly, I was going to come here and dump on this.
That really swayed my thinking on where we were going.
I did because I thought about that mindset and I said, you know what, we do this for a living.
I know, that sounds crazy.
We don't have the knowledge and IQ of a Colin.
That's not our vibe.
We're more of a fun light show.
But we're locked into sports and what's going on in the world of movies, TV, pop culture.
We're locked in because it's our job.
But if you would ask me, is there any other time in your life when you may have been even more locked in?
And I'm thinking 12, 13 year old me?
Because your whole life revived around it.
If you asked me any place, you could have been like, Rich, Brett Saberhagen.
I probably knew it's ERA.
If you asked me.
Hey, Rich, how many home runs is Andre Dawson have right now?
19.
I would have known every stat, mid-season, after season, everything, because you are locked in.
So when management actually hears and listens to their kids,
I don't think it's as crazy as you think.
The crazy part is him making this a public announcement and a story out of it.
I think that's the crazy part.
I think it's happened forever and all the time.
But the fact that it's a story is what's surprising here.
No doubt.
And the other interesting question, too, yeah, if kids were in charge,
the world we live in and the other moves that would be made, that's hilarious.
Think about that.
and coming up, we're going to talk about forgiveness.
Who are those athletes that either said or did something?
A blunder on or off the field where you really can't get over it.
For some reason, you don't respect or like that athlete anymore.
Can you forgive them?
A story Kavino has.
We'll get to forgiveness.
We'll talk a little more NFL.
Some NBA, we got music with the herd line news.
That's all coming up right here.
Kavino and Rich, in for Colin on the herd.
One more herd?
The herd streams 24 hours a day.
seven days a week within the IHeart radio app.
Search heard to listen live or on demand whenever you'd like.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to a...
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen.
We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends
on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis,
and I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast,
I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris.
Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on clay.
Genshin win.
I mean, she went down at three to,
Rabakina, but I'm delighted.
She's an outsider to win the French for me.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lena Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now.
And I actually can win on any surface.
Because if she's serving, well, good luck.
Consider this your court side seat to the French Open.
Listen to the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever
you get your podcasts.
Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
All right.
Good day.
I said good day.
Going to make it a good day.
Great day with Kavino and Rich.
The CNR show in for Colin on the herd.
Giving away prizes next hour.
And again, you're invited to our party, live broadcast party June 20th through to 22nd in Vegas.
So just book your flights, details to come.
But we're going to be out there celebrating.
And we're happy to be here on the herd.
I'm Steve Kavino.
That is Rich.
any G producing on the phones, 877
for the herd. That's
877 484-84-3437.
We got Big Sexy Ryan. We got Ryan music.
We got spot on the videos at Covino
and Rich. Before we get to the
herd line news and forgiveness and the
NBA and the NFL, I got three
rando questions for you.
You cool with that? I guess.
And they're all over the place because
ADD at its finest with me.
Can I say one last thing though? Sure.
When it comes to SpyTech and his
son making the decisions for the Raiders?
Yes.
10 year old nose picking son.
I was having an epiphany.
I was in the hallway thinking.
And I was like, you know what?
It sounds ridiculous, but it's not that ridiculous.
Because we all do that sort of thing on a lower and lesser level.
Like how many people listening bought a car because their kid liked it or got an apartment
or bought a house because their kid was like, yeah, this is the one.
It's great.
I really like it
And at the end of the day
It helped you make the decision
But you had the final decision
So with SpyTech
Yeah his kid is pointing him in a direction
With Ashton Genti
But he's still making the final decision
So it sounds silly
But it's not that silly
It doesn't sound that silly
Because when my wife and I were looking for a house
This is a true story
Our kids were very little
And when we walked in the house
We looked at the kids to be like
You all like
Yeah
Are they vibing?
And they're like, yeah, we love it.
And they're like, well, they love it.
If you made the decision.
If your kid's eyes light up, that's the story right there.
That's your answer.
It's the same thing on a much bigger level with the Raiders.
But he's a superstar player.
You're probably going to get superstar results.
Again, 5-9-215-215.215.215.215.
Ash and Genti of Boise State.
Now, that was my thought.
You have rando questions.
Three rand-o questions.
And then we're going to talk forgiveness.
All right. The Yankees are currently what?
Four and two? Yeah.
Mets are currently what? Three and three.
So right now you have a one game lead over me.
Meaning I'm a Mets fan. Kavino's the Yankees fan.
In the beginning of the season, we made a bet $1,000
whose ever team had a better record.
Do you want to up the ante at all?
That's a good one.
Meaning, I don't want to, I'm not going to say like another couple thousand.
I made this bet before Garrett Cole went down.
Oh, that's excuse me.
I'm giving you a little.
You have a one-game lead right now, five games into the season.
That's nothing.
I'm still confident in the Yankees.
So if I would say, $1,000 bet, and then an additional $100 for each game that they're better.
So if the Mets are five games better and they win, that's $1,500.
I know you're looking for the radio effect of like, let's go.
No, I'm looking for you to back down.
You're saying the Yankees are so great.
I'm not backing down, but what I do want is like, let me think about it for a minute.
Like, you're not going to get to, yeah, all right, let's do it.
Music, during the break, how much was Kavino talk in this fact about how great the Yankees are and some Soto made a mistake and the Mets stink?
That's true.
There was, yeah, some very heated discussions about the superiority of the Yankees over the mess.
So take the last sip of your cold brew.
Go ahead, let's hear it.
Last sip of your cold brew.
100 bucks for each additional game?
I got to think about it.
You're not going to get that handshake right now.
Okay.
About this, when the Dodgers repeat, you both give me a thousand hours.
You know what, Danny?
That's easy money for you.
That's a good one.
The goal is the Dodgers went 120 games
and much like every other team
in every other major sport,
the best record.
This is a fun fact music.
I'm sure Colin has pointed this out.
The Bruins,
the Patriots,
the Mariners,
and who did I miss?
Oh, the Warriors.
Yeah.
All four best records,
those teams all went on to lose in the playoffs.
So I'm hoping.
Best records doesn't mean best team always.
You just had the best record.
I'm hoping the Dodgers go 120
and 42 and then losing the NLDS.
Anyway, that's question one.
So, Kvino backs down.
No, no, no, no.
But hold on.
Let me get this right before we move on, not to drag it out.
You said, let's up the ante.
Do you want to make it $2,000 and or just another $100 for every game?
$1,000 bet, and then $100 for each game that's best.
So if the Yankees have an eight game better record than the Mets, that's $1,800.
Okay, so, all right, let me think about it.
Okay.
Question number two.
if you coach kid sports like I do
I'm coaching my daughters
ate you softball and my son's
pony ball team ball
Are you really coached no
I heard your daughter's pulling all the strings here
I heard your daughter made the line up
No here's the question
Is this because remember when you were kid playing sports
Because we all did
I heard your daughter set to draft
Little Becky McMillan
So when you were a kid
Was there any better time than playing sports right
Not nothing else compares to
Pop Warner football
P.A.L.
basketball, Little League, pony ball.
Is it fair as a coach
for me to back kids later in the lineup
that show up late?
Because it's on their parents.
But if I'm saying, all right, kids,
show up a half hour and hour before the game for warm-ups.
You know, little Johnny's good,
but he's showing up right before the game
and his dad's all clutzy.
Like, oh, sorry, he's here.
And I'm like, yeah, I put him at the bottom of the lineup.
Do you make your lineup based on the kids that are there?
Or if the kid's parents are flaky,
like the kid misses practice,
but they're good.
I wouldn't take out
the kid
just because his parents suck.
I never understood that.
But I'm saying if I'm making the lineup
and it's 15 minutes before game time
and you know
little Becky Johnson's not there
because her mom's like flustered
and I'm making the lineup
if she's one of our best players
do I say,
here 10 minutes before the game
you're batting last.
I'd make the adjust.
Well, at this stage of the game
your goal isn't necessarily to win
because they're so little.
But just to teach,
lessons maybe? I don't know. Teach a lesson
and yeah, I would say that's
you're teaching fundamentals, you're teaching lessons.
That's really the stage you're at right now.
So do it while you can.
Because next year I think you're playing to win.
Yeah. And the last question. We lost Val Kilmer
this week. If you would recommend
let's go around the room, music, Big Sexy Ryan, Danny J.
Spotty even chime in if you want. If you would
recommend one Val Kilmer movie for everyone to watch
this weekend to honor
The late great actor, 65 fast away.
What's your go-to Val Kilmer movie?
Music?
Man, I'm torn between two, but I'm going to go.
Give us both.
The first one that came to mind was Tombstone,
but Heat is also very, very close.
I'll go with Tombstone if I got to choose one.
It's wild.
Everybody has a favorite.
That's what we've learned and noticed as we honor him this week.
Everyone has a different go-to.
When you say Tombstone, I think of pizza and the,
the movie. So yeah, it sounds like, yeah, it sounds like a good plan for the weekend because I haven't
had enough pizza this week. I know. Um, no, Tombstone is the one I would like to see because it's
been a minute and it's the most classic, even though there's so many great options. Like, I've seen
doors. I always say he's more Jim Morrison than Jim Morrison in that movie, but I've seen it so many
times. Tombstone would be my go to this weekend. Danny G. Big sexy Ryan, what you guys got?
I'll go first here since Tombstone was already taken. How about one from the late 80s?
burn this VHS tape out.
It was in our collection. Willow.
Think of Val Kilmer as an action star in that movie.
Sexy Ryan.
Two, actually.
Top Secret and Real Genius.
Good one.
These are good ones.
I'm going to go way recent just because
the guy to the right of me
that thinks his Yankees are going to win 100 games this year,
Steve Kavino
has never seen Top Gun Maverick.
and that's true yes
and I'm
yeah
and on our show
yesterday afternoon
into the evening
rich you were
pestering him to do that
which is a mistake
well yeah
can you know
I compare it to
you tell him to do something
he won't do it
I don't know if it's like
a trait that I inherited
from my dad
or like a Mexican thing
my mom's Mexican
because they often say that
the more you pressure
Canelo Alvarez
to do something
not comparing myself
to the great Canello
but I am
the more you pressure him
to fight like a David
Benavitas, the more he's like, now I won't. Now I won't do it. You tell me to do it. I won't do it.
I don't need to do anything. I'm Canelo. The more people pressure me to do things, the less I'm
inclined to want to do it. It's your hardheadedness. I have to feel like it's my own choice.
And the more he pushes this movie on me, the more I'm like, no. Because I'm not giving in.
Here's a thing. It's not a big. I'm going to watch Tombstone and the White Lotus finale.
It's not a big role for Val Kilmer. But I was telling him that I wasn't even. I was telling
him that I wasn't even a big top gun
fan as a kid. I want to put Top Gun as one of my
favorite 80s movies. That's the thing and I watched
the original recently.
I watched it when I was a kid.
I used to play the video game for Nintendo,
Top Gun. I watched it recently.
I was never that need for speed
kid. I did not
like the original. I hated it
in fact. So like for me, I want to watch
the new one. The sequel is actually a better
agreed. Wouldn't you agree?
Agreed. I told Kvino, I go, dude, we're talking the same
language. Back to the future. Gunnys, Indiana Jones,
Karate Kid. We all love the same things. Top Gun was not in my
top list. But the second one, you've got a nice big TV, the Sonos
surround sound. It's... In honor. In honor, it's this
weekend. All right. Well, with that said,
it is time for the Hurdline News. Let's go.
No, no, no, no. Turn on the news.
This is the Hurdline News.
All right, let's check in on some NFL news. James Winston,
now a member of the New York Giants.
after playing one season with the Cleveland Browns.
Well, apparently it was an impactful season for James
because he's posted a thank you to Cleveland on his Instagram.
He said, I'm so happy and grateful for everything we experienced together this past year.
Now, that was just a small part of what was a much longer caption for the post.
And look, I hate to be this guy and do this because his intentions are clearly in the right place,
just trying to show some gratitude to the city of,
Cleveland and to the organization.
Feels like we've got a little
far with like these thank you
posts and tribute videos.
It's not a lifer. It's not like Jeter leaving
the Yankees or Big Poppy leaving the Red Sox.
It's not Tom Brady's
farewell to your own. It's like it's like the
pressure to do it. It's like when
that random person leaves the office and they have
to send the mass email to everybody.
It's like I barely knew the guy. It's all good.
John's leaving accounting?
I have Lortier and I hard for 12 years.
Who's that? Hey, it's John. I just wanted to
it was a great run and Godspeed to everybody.
It's like, hey, beat it, dude.
I barely knew you.
And, you know, I really feel like it's just become the thing to do with my point.
Oh, absolutely.
And, like, you see this a lot in the NBA with, like, the tribute videos.
You know, Luca's going to make his return to the Mavericks in the next few games.
And I'm sure they'll give him a video.
And, like, I get it.
Obviously, Luca's a great player.
And they went to the NBA finals and everything.
No, no.
But, like, you traded him.
And he's going to have a much.
longer career. I mean, we hope
obviously. But he should have a much longer
career elsewhere outside of the Maverick.
So it's just, I find these things
to be kind of weird. Like you guys
said, look, if it's
if someone like Dirk,
if Dirk had played and then he's like, hey guys, I want to
go take like a one year deal to go play
with the Knicks or something.
And then Dirk comes back, you're giving Dirk a video.
You're giving him a send-off.
Some of these others. I think the Mets
gave someone a video recently.
I'm a big Mets fan.
It was honestly like an irrelevant player.
Yeah.
And I'm like,
you know where I was getting this vibe too?
Like farewell seasons.
Oh, yeah.
Like, oh, wait, is that becoming a thing where everybody gets that?
Like, you know, you have to earn that sort of thing.
I was getting that vibe that everyone was just getting some sort of farewell tour at every game for a while.
Yeah.
It's definitely, uh, we've gone a little too far.
But hey, look, James, a gracious guy.
Oh, good for him.
I think the Mets gave Michael Conforto like a video.
Someone that was like, you know, a key player for a couple of years,
it's like, everyone gets a video?
I don't know.
Yeah, it seems a little odd.
All right, we'll stick with the NFL here.
We continue to wait on Aaron Rogers,
and if he's going to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Inevitable or what?
It seems to feel that way, but look, the Steelers,
they're not waiting around.
They're going to start making some moves
while they wait on Rogers' decisions.
Today, we have multiple reports.
Steelers hosting Ole Miss quarterback Jackson DART
for an official press.
draft visit.
That also doesn't make
terribly bad sense because it's not like Aaron Rogers
would play more than a year or so anyway.
Totally. And nobody's buying Mason
Rudolph. You can keep trying to sell
us Mason Rudolph and nobody buys it.
But I mean like, wouldn't Pittsburgh love a situation
when you have Aaron Rogers for a year or so
with some young stud waiting in the wings?
That seems to be the template, right?
Absolutely. By the way, is Colin
sold on Iron Rogers in Pittsburgh?
He sold on
it's either retirement or that
and he doesn't really buy that
even if the Steelers
sign an Aaron Rogers that it's going to
make much of a difference. Colin did some of
his pre-draft over unders
and I think right now they have the Steelers
at 8 and a half win total
and he looks at it and goes
if they sign Rogers
maybe they're like a 9 win team
if they don't sign Rogers they're like
a 7 or an 8 win team. Aaron
Rogers needs to start working on his good buy
letter.
A guy like him, you want to play to win.
I don't think you're winning anything with the Steelers.
I don't think he's the difference maker.
I don't know how crazyer things have happened.
But how do you feel about the theatrics of the, you know, a little workout with D.K.
Metcalf?
To me, it's like, come on, pull the trigger or not, dude.
Exactly.
Exactly.
Like, we're supposed to believe that you've had all this time to look at what the Steelers are
and you're like, oh, no, I went and threw some passes with D.K., now I'm in.
Like, you've seen D.K.
Play. You know what he can do.
It's all good here.
All right, we'll wrap up with this.
Odd and unfortunate sort of injury in the NBA last night.
T. Wolves taken on the Nets.
They're the superstar for Minnesota and Edwards.
Shooting like a fallaway three in the corner.
And he actually ended up stepping on Nets coach Jody for,
Jordie, excuse me, Jordie Fernandez's foot.
So yeah, he sort of rolled his ankle, needed help off the court.
Now, he did return to action, ended up scoring 28.
Timberwolves got the win.
Thankfully, everything seems to be fine.
Fernandez apologized for not moving out of the way
and sort of causing sort of the injury there.
But I've always wondered about that.
You know, basketball coaches at times, they go way out onto the court.
And obviously we know in all levels of football,
you have the get back coach for the guy who needs to pull him back off the sidelines.
Who had the get-back?
Was it McVeigh?
Someone had their personal get-back guy?
Mick Vase for sure got one because he's way out there.
But yeah, obviously, everything's all good.
But I always find that kind of interesting that these coaches sometimes get a little
aggressive and you're like, I hope this doesn't
create any issues. No, it's got to stop
there because then it leads to like Mr.
Fuji with his cane like dipping into the rain
tripping people. She'd be the mouth of the south
with his megaphone. Stay out of the way
and don't wear extra long cockroach killer boots
just to trip up the other players.
Like, yeah, it sounds like an illegal move.
Well, thank you, Ryan. That's your herd line news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by. The
Heard Line News.
All right. So, we have
games to play next hour, so stick around for that.
No, Candy Land.
We're going to play...
Hungry, Hungry, Abyss.
We're going to play Operation.
What are on the knee?
Collect a thousand dollar fee.
Did anyone actually play Operation?
No.
Did anyone play Mousetrap?
No, you just set it up.
I know, yeah, I never had those games.
No one ever played it.
No.
We're going to play a game called, quote me.
Your job, Fox Sports Radio Nation, the herd,
is to guess who said it?
Multiple choice for some prizes here on the show.
We do that next hour.
But coming up,
forgiveness. Is it just like saying sorry?
Forgiveness. People and players, you'll never forgive for whatever reason.
Even if it's a dumbest reason.
It involves Will Smith, the actor, not the baseball player, all right?
So it involves him, and we'll talk about it next.
The CNR. In for Colin on The Herd.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays in noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific.

And the fact that we've been friends for the last 20 years and still work together, I mean, that says something, right?
So check us out.
We like to get you involved, too.

Hey, it's us to Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, huge news?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to a...
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name,
Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it
one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy,
not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends,
me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis,
and I know firsthand, because I,
competed there myself. I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast, I'm breaking down
everything happening at Roland Garris, every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win
on Clay. Jenschen win. I mean, she went down to three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted. She's an outsider
to win the French for me. And she likes Clay. Listen, Lina Rabakina is arguably the best player
in the world right now, and I actually can win on any surface, because if she's serving, well, good luck.
Consider this your court-side seat to the French Open.
Listen to the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the
athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Thanks for hanging.
Covino Enrich, that's us, the CNR show, in for Colin on the herd.

So we could shamelessly promote our stuff, our show.
And it's an honor.
Thank you guys for hanging out with us.
We're on from 2 to 4 Monday through Friday on Fox Sports Radio, 5 to 7.
So affiliates who don't carry us.

Listeners come meet some people June 20th through the 22nd.
Again, I'm Steve Kavino.
We got Danny G on the phones.
And this is where we chop it up and get you involved.
So write it down.
8774-88-847-4-the-Hard or at Covino and Rich.
Because the question is this.
who is somebody you're never going to forgive.
It could be in entertainment, it could be in life, it could be in sports because of a bonehead play they made or a bonehead decision they made.
The story goes like this, Rich.
I don't know if you heard about this or if you realized, but Will Smith came out with a new record based on a true story.
And I'm not here to promote it.
And I'm not here to make fun of it either.
I'm really not.
But it's got that old school
hip-hop Will Smith sort of vibe
to it. It's exactly what you'd expect, right?
Based on a true story.
And the first track is called Barbershop
and it's based
about
based on people talking about Will Smith
in the Barbershop.
There's a video to go along with it.
Jazzy Jeff's on the track.
I'll tell you what. I watched the video
of the song. It's entertaining.
Yeah, no.
It's a bunch of, it's Will Smith
dressed with a bunch of characters,
a la Eddie Murphy and coming to America
where he's everyone in the barbershop.
Yeah, and I liked, I liked,
liked, I liked,
parents just don't understand
Will Smith.
I like that, Wilson, and that's kind of what you're getting here.
So I'm like, alright, where?
Do you like summertime, Will Smith?
Drums, please.
Sorry, sorry.
But then again, you're a guy that didn't love
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
So let me start off, I didn't.
So I'm trying to be positive.
I liked his early stuff.
independent sake one
I kind of liked it
but I didn't love it
Now his classic album
He's the DJ I'm the rapper
If you've never listened to that album
Go back
It's where there's a song called
Brand New Funk that still hits today
Oh dude like I said I want to start with props
Okay
He's the first ever to win a Grammy
What do you keratat?
I'm keratap I got lots of props
To get props
Break out the golf club
He put he helped put rap
On the map as far as mainstream right
he's the first to ever win a rap Grammy, if I'm not mistaken.
And for 56, he looks fantastic.
So there's my positive spin.
And he portrayed the late great Muhammad Ali.
And you know what?
On social media, for a guy that's that age, he's relevant working with all these young influencers.
Will Smith is a great follow on like TikTok and Instagram.
So there's the props.
There's the props.
However, in the song Barbershop, it's sort of based on.
what people say about him.
And the premise of the song is,
I'm never going to forgive him for that
as he did, for that is he did.
That's the hook and that's
the chorus of the song.
And he's singing to you because you're one of those
people. I'm never going to forgive him for that
as he did. Meaning,
what he did to Chris Rock,
I've never been a big Will Smith fan.
I never hated him either.
But I've always been a Chris Rock fan
and I sort of hated what he did to
Chris Rock. I don't know anybody.
that thought that was appropriate.
That was the weakest.
And in a really weak moment,
and until Chris Rock
forgives him, I'm not forgiving Will Smith.
I hate what he did to him and how he humiliated him.
So based on me, never forgiven Will Smith
until Chris Rock does.
Who else are we not forgiven?
I have.
I have a few.
I have the number one answer on the board.
Really?
And there's no way that's a better answer.
All right.
People never forgiving this guy.
Sports, entertainment, you name it.
Who will you not forgive?
More next.
C&R. In for Colin.
Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers.
I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.

We created our own podcast called,
Hey, Jonas.
