Five minutes, Matt Hasselbeck, the three-time Pro Bowl or 18 years in the NFL. We'll be joining us. Six playoff appearances with the Seattle. Seahawks got to a Super Bowl, should have beaten Pittsburgh, but the zebras decided that day it was the Steelers. Anyway, sounded like a homer from the Northwest. J-Mack, I watched the first series of the New York Giants game. The first series, it was painful.

And I'm like, wow, they have to draft another quarterback. Like, wow, it was so disorganized with Brian Daibel. The first series of the year for the Giants, you're like, that can't be the first series. That cannot be the first series for a quarterback in his fifth or six year in the league. That can't be it. Did you see the stat that Daniel Jones has more pick sixes three than touchdown passes two since signing his massive contract extension, I believe 18 months ago? That's how bad it is.

Go to YouTube. This is an offensive coach. Go to the first series. It is, it looks so disorganized, so inept. And I'm rooting for all these guys to play. I don't want guys to fail, but it's like, Giants need a quarterback. They're asking the coach, Dable, right now at the press conference, who's your starting quarterback this week?

They're asking if it's over for Daniel Jones. Not yet. He should light up Washington, right? Baker hung four touchdowns. You know, Baker's a different player than Daniel Jones. Washington secondaries, really bad. They need more good players. That may have been a bad gamble by me to take Washington to make the playoffs.

It might be a whiff. Can I get a mulligan on that one? I think I need a mulligan on the commanders. All right, Colin right, Colin wrong, Monday. Here we go. Where Colin was right. We said it's not going to take long for Harbaugh. 10-11 wins seems reasonable. No turnovers. More rushing yards than passing yards. Justin Herbert had just 26 attempts. It was exactly what we thought it would be. Ugly, tough, physical, a street fight with the Raiders. I mean, it's like they had 155 yards rushing in the second half. It looked like Michigan.

This is exactly what we said. They're not a Super Bowl team. They got to get better on the perimeter offensively, but this is what they'll look like and how they'll win, and they did it in week one. Where Colin was wrong. The Bears' offense. I mean, I knew it would be turbulent.

What was that? 64 passing yards. I mean, again, I worry about the erratic accuracy by Caleb Williams. His passer rating was 55. It's another game under 50% completion. He missed one down the same. sideline there. And again, my expectations are so low for young quarterbacks, but that was a little concerning. I didn't think it would be that bad. Where Colin was right? Well, the bills are going to be

fine without Stefan Diggs. Now, do they have the weaponry to go toe to toe to with Kansas City later or Houston? I don't know if they do, but it should be noted, Josh Allen is going to lead a football team. Not one single wide receiver is going to lead a football team. His passer rating was 138. Nine different Buffalo Bills had a catch. So too much is made of the dominant number one receiver, the best quarterbacks in this league. I think Dak got better when Des Bryant left.

He didn't feel beholden. Now, you've got to have some weapons. Cincinnati was weapon light yesterday, but Buffalo's going to win games as long as Josh Allen is upright and in his prime. Where Colin was raw. I had the Saints finishing last in their division, and I think Derek Carr has found the perfect coordinator. I've never seen Derek Carr play that well.

They scored on their first nine drives. That's officially, has that ever happened? Did Alabama score on their first nine drives against Troy State? What is that? So I thought this team was a fourth place team. I thought Dennis Allen was on the hot seat and they were flawless. Where Colin was right? Sam Darnold, I just said, I don't know how good Sam.

is, but he's a lot better than his career so far. He's got a really good coach and a good left tackle and a run game and a star receiver. He started 12 for 12 as passer rating was 113. It's like Baker Mayfield or Gino Smith. You've got to give the guys a shot. You got to give him a functional organization. Gino and Baker yesterday had days. Sam Darnold did too.

I've been told by coaches through the years. He's got the physical traits. He's got leadership skills. He's a tough guy. played linebacker in high school. He just needed a coach that got him and you saw what he can do. Where Colin was right? I don't get Will Levis. I think he's too mechanical. I don't think he's fluid. Since his NFL debut, he had a great debut since then, five touchdown, six picks and nine starts. I don't see it. I don't think he sees the field. I think he struggles with progressions.

I don't think he has a sense of the pocket. He got whacked a couple of times. He got whacked a couple of times. He doesn't hear the footsteps. I don't know how. Some quarterback play is innate. Do you have a feel for it? I think he's a big, strong kid with a big arm. I don't think he's got a feel for it. I didn't see it last year.

I just don't get it. Where Colin was wrong. I thought Oregon was a national championship contender. Their O-line through two games is a disaster. They miss Bo Nix. They're not close to Ohio State, Georgia, Texas. I mean, they'd get blown out of the building tomorrow by USC. I'm not joking.

Like their offensive line is a problem. No question, they miss Bow Nix. They're just not fluid. They got good receivers. Their defense. They allow 200 yards rushing to Boise State. They're bad right now. Where Colin was right?

I've said, Colorado is the classic timeshare sales pitch. Everybody pop champagne when you land the recruit, when you buy it. Two years later, you want an attorney and try to get out of it. Colorado's a mess. in seven in their last eight games. They don't look well coached. Shadour Sanders has a lot of talent. He's a really talented kid. But what is this whole thing walking off the field early? I don't like the feel for this program at all right now. Here was Shadur taking a shot at his offensive line after the loss. Whenever you're able to run the ball consistently and whenever you're

able to, then that opens up the past, you know. But it's just like you've got to understand like what your team good at. So it was like, why would we keep running the ball? If, okay, we are, we out there, we get in a situation where it's a must get and we don't get it. Yeah, I don't think he's helping himself in the NFL draft and I'm out on Colorado. It's a lot of sizzle. I don't see the steak. I don't see the details.

I thought Dion got outcoached and Colorado got outplayed. Where Colin was right? The new kickoff yesterday, it was actually entertaining. Listen, it looks weird. And maybe it's not perfect. But I'll be honest about it. I think you're going to get double the kickoff touchdown returns, and that's all I care about. Again, a lot of times, the NFL, it took them 10 years to figure out the catch rule.

I'm not going to be too punitive. If you give me kickoff touchdowns, then it's a win. Maybe it's just, I mean, I'll give you this. It looks weird. But is it weird, or does it look weird because I'm used to the other way? But we've already got last year, I think we only had four kickoff returns for touchdowns. We've already got one, and that's my prediction, is that there's one line you have to get through.

If you can get through that first line, it's off to the races. So just take a deep breath. It's wonky-looking. I think it's going to be okay. Colin right, calling wrong on a Monday. And from that, we bring in a guy who ever respected and liked for a long time. 18 years in the NFL, three Pro Bulls, got to Seahawks to six playoff appearances. Matt Hasselbeck joining us on a Monday, a regular for us on a Monday.

You know, it's funny, Matt, I've said to everybody, you guys, we got to understand. The defensive coordinators are great in the NFL. This is hard. These guys are all going to be turbulent. But there are things I look at, like Caleb Williams, the accuracy thing, Matt. College preseason yesterday, he's struggling to get to 50% on stuff. Is that just he's a young guy, or does that concern you, Matt, at all? come on Colin you're not going to celebrate the win i mean the guy got a win in his first rookie start let's

go it'll be so difficult about these guys so you you don't care to you a win's a win no matter what the what it looks like aesthetically no no i actually agree with you i actually agree with you i thought it was a little ugly you know really for all the all the young quarterbacks but i think that's what you expect i mean caleb if i had to point to one thing the sidearm throws you like he's got guys wide open. He's got this like cool like I don't know sort of like TikTok style workout throws, but like there's an offensive line in front of you. So like the fundamentals and technique got to come. But he's a young talented player. I think the danger, you know, with all these rookie quarterbacks is taking what happens in the first game and then making an immediate just,

you know, like an immediate opinion on him forever. My rookie year, 1998, it was the, it was the draft class of Peyton Manet and Ryan Leif. Those two guys went head to head. Ryan Leif won that first matchup against those two guys. Ryan Leif outplayed him. Did that mean that Ryan Leif was going to have the better NFL career? No.

In fact, that rookie year, guys like Brian Greasy and Charlie Batch, Charlie Batch probably had the best year of all the rookie quarterbacks, my rookie year. So I think we need to slow down a little bit. But, no, I think all the rookie quarterbacks struggled struggled quite a bit yesterday. So for Chicago to get the win, that's huge for them when their quarterback really is learning on the fly. Let's talk about a veteran quarterback.

I said I thought the Rams loss was as impressive as any loss I've seen. They're missing both tackles, Pooka Nakua. Their offensive lines makeshift. They're on the road against a very good roster. The pass rush. And Stafford is throwing dimes to one receiver, basically. You play this at a very high level. I watch Stafford, I think, I don't know if you can throw the ball better.

I was so blown away by him yesterday. How do you view him? Yeah, he's a superstar. There's like no doubt about it. That's why they gave up all that they gave up to go get him. And he helped him get that Super Bowl. He's one of those guys, I think, like the bigger, the crowd noise, like the more intense the atmosphere, the better he plays. I would even say, like maybe the more he gets hit, the better he plays.

It's almost like you poke the bear just like. a little bit and he's got all the different throws in his golf bag. Now he said, that was a great game. It was like one of the reasons why the NFL is the best. Like, that was literally one of the greatest games that I've seen. The NFL couldn't have scheduled it better. But at the end of the day, they lost. And I think they lost because they're a little bit of a finesse team.

Yeah. You know, like they're very creative. They get the ball to Cooper Cup, all these different ways. But at the end of the day, this is tackle football. This is not, this is not OTAs. This is more like training camp. And to me, it looked like the, Detroit Lions had the tougher training camp.

They were the tougher team, and they're going home one-and-oh. The other team's 0-1-1. But Stafford's legit, but you need all 11 guys. So they've got to figure out a way to finish out and close out those types of games. I thought it was great yesterday that Sam Darnold and Baker-Mayfield just crushed. And I like Sam. I know Sam. I don't know if he'll ever be great.

He can be a little slow. The process is a little slow. rid of the ball. Baker, I think, is a better natural thrower, but there is something to be said, Matt, about fit. John Elway needed a Shanahan. The idea, I mean, you had a Mike Holmgren.

It just, there's very few offensive genius. I feel like watching Donald and Baker yesterday, that was the best version of themselves. That's what it felt like to me. Yeah, well, hey, we could all use a Shanahan and a Holmgren. That would be awesome. I think

those are two examples of guys that played two early. You know, they played too early. We made a quick judgment on them right away. I mean, I remember Sam Darnold, he's playing for the Jets. He beats Detroit. And like, they're ready to name buildings after him all over New York. It was just, it's like everyone slow down, pump the brakes. I think you're seeing a very good version of Baker Mayfield with Liam Cohn right now. I think you're seeing a very, a much improved version of Sam Darnold with Kevin O'Connell. Like, this is a good fit, play caller, quarterback, and also maturity. And I do think in the case of Baker and also the case of Sam Donald,

it's kind of nice that they get to do it not in the major spotlight. Like both those guys were in the major spotlight. Now you're hearing about them. You're talking about them. But they're not in the AIDS. They're not in the lead story. And I think this is a nice opportunity for two young guys to get a second chance and do a really good job. You know, Harbaugh is, I said earlier,

he's a little bit like a great movie director. when you watch a great movie director, their movies all feel kind of the same. Like I can tell you, you can say, oh, that's a Christopher Nolan film, or that's a Scorsese film. Every time I watch a Jim Harbaugh team, I could just say,

that's a Harbaugh team. So they take stuff off the plate of Justin Herbert. It becomes very much about run game, clock management. And I said, I think Herbert's going to win way more games, but I don't think his numbers will be great. if a coach came to you and said you're going to throw seven to eight times less

a game, would it bother you if he told you we're going to be less reliant on you? How would that play to you? Yeah, it would bother me actually, but I'd be fine with it at the end of the day. And listen, just like we talked about Dan Campbell, the identity of the team is like seen and like with the identity

of the coaches, that's what's going to happen with Harbaugh. You saw it in Michigan, you get J.J. McCarthy, who's a first round draft pick quarterback. They didn't build the whole thing around him. They built it around the running game. Even go back to when Jim Harbaugh was at Stanford, okay? When Jim Harbaugh was at Stanford and his quarterback was Andrew left, he built the thing around the power run game of like Toby Gerhardt. Yeah, he had NFL tight ends all around. It wasn't about just the quarterback. So this is exactly, you know exactly what you're getting with Harbaugh. And you make a great point. It might not be pretty, but it really doesn't matter.

Let me just tell you, losing in the NFL is brutal. Taking a beating the way Justin Herbert has taken a beating is brutal. Playing with broken ribs, playing with broken fingers. That's no fun. You know what's fun? Winning. You know what else is fun? Being relevant in January and February.

That'll be new territory for the charges if they can get this thing turned around. And I really think they will. They do need to probably, I think, probably just get an identity in terms of like, you know, the whole team, like they need a whole team identity, the way the Detroit Lions have picked up on that. But offensively, you're seeing it, and it's definitely, definitely horrible all the way. I said earlier today, Matt Hasselbeck joining us for our radio audience, 18 years in the league, three Pro Bowls got to a Super Bowl as well, that I'm nervous tonight for Aaron Rogers, is that he's good for content.

And when guys get hurt in the NFL, I remember when Brady got hurt, he didn't want anybody near his knees. for two years. I mean, he would be marketed officials. And I could see Aaron coming in tonight. New offensive line, Matt, new pieces. Old guys don't play in the preseason. Here comes Bose off the edge. And part of me's like,

God, just make it easy for Aaron. Get the ball out fast. You tell me, I don't know how many injuries you had, but that's got to be in his head. He's taking four snaps in 500 days. How is that not in his head? Yeah, well, I don't know if it's in

head, but it's a real thing. I don't care what line of work you're in. If you take some time off, you're going to be rusty when you come back. That's normal. I would just say this about Aaron Rogers, though. It seems like every year, he's amazing week one. He's amazing. And this judge's defense is pretty good. So it's not like Aaron Rogers needs to go out there and be the MVP. He just kind of needs to be one of those guys that, that doesn't turn the ball over, basically, is what he's done. So, like, if he comes out and has a sort of a pedestrian year for him, like, which would be like, I don't know, 30 touchdowns, six interceptions. That would be kind of just, like, not the best year of his career. It's okay.

Like, that's okay for this team. It reminds me a little bit when Tom Brady replaced James Winston in Tampa. James had this great defense. James had 30 touchdowns, 30 interceptions. Brady just needed to come in and kind of steady the ship. Yeah. You know, they really got bad quarterback play last year. in New York for most of the year.

So if Aaron can just go in there, we don't need him to be running around. We don't need him to look like he's 25 years old. But I think that's probably the key is just that he has to sort of like, I think he might have to accept that in his mind because his health is incredibly valuable to this team. Finally, Dak Prescott got, as they say, the bag yesterday.

And for years and years on Dak, I've said, listen, he's a grown-up. He may be the best quarterback at the part. podium. He's an adult. You can win a lot of games. I don't know if he can go toe to toe with a greats and win. But he does create. And in the NFL, half this league

feels like it's in chaos at quarterback. I think there's value in DAC being good, a grown-up, dependable, tough, resilient. When you see his contract, do you think to yourself, $60 million for DAC, or are you comfortable with it?

I mean, there's a lot of money, but they feel good about it. I really think that that's the key. They feel good about it. And here's what I feel good about. DAC plus Mike McCarthy basically calling and designing the offense. I feel really good about that. Dak with maybe like a defensive head coach, I don't know if it's worth the money, but you've invested in Mike McCarthy, and I had Mike as a coach.

And one thing I would say, like, you know, in recent years in Dallas, I don't know that he was all that much involved in the offense the way that he is now. I think he was kind of delegating. He was head coach. I think now that he's so involved, you see the creativity. You see how he and Dak are really on the same page. Dak has the keys to the car. And I think probably most of all, his teammates really believe in him.

So I think it's a great investment given the circumstances of where they are as a team, where they've been, and really the relationship between those two. Like Mike and Dak, you mentioned earlier, like with me and Mike Holmgren or with John Elway and Mike Shanahan, like the play caller quarterback relationship is really, really, really, really valuable. I don't know if I can overstate it. And understanding that you are the coach on the field, understanding that you need to be like in lockstep

with your guy. And those two guys have it. So if you were not going to sign Dak, I don't think you really have a solution. So this is the right thing. And I think that's basically living up to it right now. Yeah. So Matt Hasselbeck's going to join us on a regular basis, hopefully here on Mondays

or Fridays, 18 years, three-time Pro Bowl. I like him way more than his other brother who used to pick on me when it was at the other network. Matt's much more agreeable. You know, he's my boss now, Colin. Tim's coach in high school football in Nashville, Tennessee. I'm the offensive coordinator, so I've got to take orders from the middle child. It's tough.

Good luck with that, by the way. Good luck with that. Matt is always. Good seeing you, my man. I appreciate it. Thanks, Colin. All right. Really, really smart guy. I think he makes a great point there. Maybe if Dak has a defensive coach and he has to carry more of it. But I thought the second quarter yesterday, I thought the part,

play calling and play designed by the Cowboys was incredible. You know, I beat up on Mike as much as anybody, but when you watch, I thought, go back to the second quarter and just, they had a couple of drives where it was very McVe-like, where you're just kind of, you don't know what they're doing. They're using all the tools in their bag. Dack was very comfortable. They're moving the pocket, everything. They used all the tools.

And I don't think the Cowboys outside of C.D. Lamb have a ton of offensive skill. Now, C.D. is great. And to their credit, they use it. They use CD Lamb. You can say all you want about Mike McCarthy. He knows who his best player is. It's a lot of DAC and a lot of CD Lamb. But, oh, by the way, Jim Harbaugh is joining us around the corner.

How about that? Not a bad yet. Not bad at all. You know who they're playing this week, right? Cross-country trip for the Carolina Panthers. Line soaring on that game. I don't know. Chargers laying points with that offense, Colin?

Can you ask Jim why they run the ball so much? I'm just kidding. I mean, honestly, it was like, it's not really a Justin Herbert-led offense anymore. It's a Jim Harbaugh offense. Yeah, and I'm totally comfortable with that. Yeah. J-Lab headphones, I'm hooked.

I did not pay a ton of attention to it because I think this win is just going to validate the way the Steelers do business, win with defense and field goals. They basically had six for six on field goals, no touchdowns. Toughness wins. That's not sustainable to me. Atlanta's got a lot of new moving parts. Kirk Cousins' first game back. I don't know what to take of it, but I don't think this is sustainable.

I think the schedule gets really tough in a couple of weeks when it's Chargers, Colts, Cowboys. We knew they had a soft launch with Atlanta and Denver. We said, oh, that really works on their favor. But I see a lot of Aaron Rogers and DAC and some really good quarterbacks coming. So, you know, it was loud. It was physical. It was tough. That feels like how the Steelers win.

But I don't know if you can wake up this morning and think to yourself, this is the future of the NFL. The quarterbacks they face are going to get much better, much younger, in their prime very soon. Justin Fields did not attempt to pass over the middle. middle in the second half. It is what it is. It's their brand. Toughness over everything. Physicality over everything.

I like that as a component, like with the Chargers, but I like the fact that they have Justin Herbert. So I just think, I think this is an eight-win team, maybe a nine-win team. It validates what they currently are. I mean, they'd be better than Cleveland, apparently, after watching

What was the biggest challenge with, when you took it over, Jim, go back to the first two or three or four weeks. Like, what was the biggest challenge for you here? Yeah, that's a good question. after being on the field with the players, I realized that, you know, guys like Derwin James, And that's what it hit me. I mean, just do whatever Derwin James is doing. There's guys here, Derwin, Justin Herbert, Joey Bosa, Clil Mack. I mean, they just do everything, right. Rishan Slater, Zion, Johnson. I realize that the culture's already here.

It's already set. It's already, these guys are already been, they've already been doing the dirty work, and they do it with a great love and passion for football, care for their teammates and the organization. so it was it was already set so I just realized real early on that I'm the lucky one to be here and just go with what they what they've got established and that's really it caused me to say it's the best darn job I've ever had to start out with and and now you know being into it for these many months man this this feels like just the best darn job I've ever had

well some of that's Justin Herbert usually you don't get you don't inherit Justin Herbert as your first quarterback. When you met him, how long did it take because yesterday was classic Justin Herbert. Three or four big throws, doesn't turn it over, smart kid. How long did it take you to figure out

Herbert and go, wow, I got something special here? I mean, right away, first time you watch him throw, the talent is there in every single way. Athletic ability. The work ethic, nobody works harder than Justin Herbert on our team, smart as they come,

like a human brain for a computer chip. Many times I just sat by my desk and go, yeah, he's on our team. But then just everything about him is leadership qualities. And then you see it, you see it all, the fierceness, the way he competes. He is a fierce competitor. there really really has it has it all and um you know i i thought we did some really good things a lot to improve uh nothing like winning a game but still having a lot there on the table to uh where you can get better and but we did a we did a pretty decent job of protecting him and uh and that's that's job

number one make sure jason herbert can finish the throwing motion you know it's interesting when you took joe alt first pick we sat on the air here we said oh this is jim jim and jim's going big, strong, tough guy. Forget receivers. You'll figure that out later. I watched Joe Alt yesterday, Jim. Holy smokes. You got a good one.

Were you even surprised a little how effective, how good he was right out of the shoot? Well, I mean, I just couldn't wait to watch Joe, watch Joe and the other guys compete. And that was a organization decision. Joe Ortiz. I mean, he wanted Joe Old. So did John Spanos. Dean Spanos. I mean, it was just cool.

Everybody was aligned. Everybody saw the talent that Joe has. And he did really great yesterday. And it was fun to watch all our new guys, you know, the ones that, you know, they lack experience. Let's face it, they lack experience. But I just really felt like what they lacked in experience, they would make up within experience because they want it so bad. You know, there's that fire in the in the belt.

and Joe brings a lot of talent. And he really carries himself like a guy who's been playing for four or five years in this league. He acquitted himself really good and tough. And probably no bigger challenge than to start your first game in the NFL, having a block's Max Crosby, who is, he is incredible player. I have tremendous respect for him. There's a play in the game, not to digress off of Joe, But, I mean, he's playing against one of the best edge rushers in the history of the National Football League.

And he did a really admirable job, you know, really proud at Joe. One thing about Max, I just want to point out, there's a clip early in the game within the first 10 plays where Max Crosby goes to tackle. I think it's Gus Edwards. And, you know, just would have been a classic hip-drop tackle from, the past years before they made it illegal. And Max Crosby made that tackle without hip dropping, got Gus for a gain of like zero or one yards. Just more respect for Max Crosby.

I mean, that's just, you know, class guy who's a great football player and adapting to the rules that make the game safer for everybody. But, yeah, so much, I just thought I'd point that out. Yeah. finally Jim you got the game ball from Dean Spanos I said this last week I've never seen you this happy you you you are happy and after that game when he gave you that game ball you are like you were 23 years old again 24 years old what did it mean to you? You haven't seen me in the after after wins very often that you know

let's uh yeah I'm really love winning and uh just you know there's probably no better place to be than in a winning locker room when you're you know you picture it I mean it's just a group of guys you know men and women in a in a organization that are you know striving putting everything their heart and soul into into a game and just means so much when when you're victorious so yeah there's not a lot of better feelings you know uh than that Now, maybe a road win, you know, when you're playing on the road and you've got to battle the opposing crowd and the opposing team. And if you throw in some elements, you know, maybe some weather, some rain, some snow, some cold, you know, nothing makes you feel more like a man than getting a win in that kind of environment.

But yesterday, yeah, pretty darn great. And they're all, they all feel really good, Colin. it's hard to win in this league, as you know. Joe Burrow yesterday found out playing the Patriots. Everybody thought that was a rollover, and it's like, nope, it's the NFL. There are no easy weeks. Joe Burrow found that out yesterday. Sofi, Raiders win.

Now it's week, by the way, week one to week two, Jim. That's the big growth week, isn't it? Yeah, it sure is. I truly believe that in the span of a course of the season, there'll never be another week where you have the opportunity to make as many gains as you can going from, you know, week one to week two, because week one, you find out where you're at. Now it's begun. You find out, you know, where you're good, where you can get better, and to go and attack those things,

you know, that's going to be our mission this week. And you just want to make the most hay that you possibly can. J.K. Dobbins, what a run effort, 170. six yards running the football. Man, have you looked at the game film yet? You're going to have so much fun looking at that game film. Have you looked at it yet? Oh, yeah.

Been through it a couple times and now going back on. Going through it for another time. But, yeah, JK, you know, coming off the injury, you know, JK all day. J.K. all day. That's a Gus Johnson phrase who, you know, Yeah, and JK played for my brother. I mean, it's like family.

And my dad said it. He said, they're watching JK through training camp, and he said, you know, JK's back. He's back to where he was and maybe even a little better before the injury. So, you know, major, major, you know, admiration for what JK's being able to done, do, and come back from that serious injury and even be stronger, faster, quicker. And to have a great day like he did yesterday, that was tremendous. Now, you see the great runs, but there's some pass protection.

I mean, you want to talk about blue collar doing the dirty work? J.K. has some tremendous pass protection shots in this game. And he, I mean, man's man, all the way. All right. We've got to let him go. Jim Harbaugh. Can't wipe that grin off his face. They're off to Caroline in a few days.

So if Russ is healthy, you start... But I'll tell you, one of the things we talked about over and over was, what happens if Justin Fields starts winning with this young locker room of young dudes? They're going to be totally connected to Justin Fields. Even in Chicago when he wasn't winning, players love Justin Fields. It's good guy, team guy.

Players loved him in Chicago. So for TV executives, they would love Russell Wilson. They could hype Russ versus the Broncos. Remember, the whole Peyton saga. It got ugly there at the end. They basically said, I think, restructure, you're done, and then he's like, fine, kick me to the curve. It's a, you know, listen, Bo Nix facing that Steeler defense. By the way, T.J. Watt?

Oh, my. He almost murdered. Kirk Cousins yesterday. It was bad. TJ Watt was dominant. There are guys in this league, Max Crosby, rarely gets blocked. He did yesterday a little bit. There are just guys in this league

that are virtually impossible. Miles Garrett yesterday, he is so strong. And that first round left tackle, you know, for the Cowboys have a left tackle. He's out of Oklahoma. He was an All-American. Dighton? Yeah, he's a massive kid. Miles Garrett just plowed

through him. I am a little worried for Boe Nix going against T.J. Watton Company, but I'll say this. Like, the Steelers want to run the ball. Denver's run defense got torn apart by Kenneth Walker. I think the Steelers probably go into Denver. Now they're favored.

You don't love Tomlin favored on the road. Don't. What's the line on that, two? I think it was three. I probably sampled Denver there. That's a tough one. Stamming Bo Nix against T.J. Watson. Well, I disagree with everybody else. I thought Bo Nix, they asked him to throw 42 times

on the road against great corners and a pass rush. It was so deceptive because, you know, I was heavily invested in Seattle in that one. Denver's 13 points came without a first down, Colin. They got like turnovers, safety, like they didn't do anything on offense. Nothing. Bonyx was not good other than that garbage time touchdown run, which really ticked me off. But I sat to settle for a push.

Should have seen the text. Jay Max sent me after Bo Nix scampered in. Pretty angry texts. Let's just move on to the New York Giants who were abysmal in a 286 blowout at home. Daniel Jones basically boot off the field, two picks. One was a pick six. And of course, Brian Daibold was asked a lot of questions about what his situation is at quarterback. Did you ever consider taking Daniel out of the games?

No. No. Right. Where's your confidence in Daigle right now? Yeah, I'd say just overall we have to do a better job and that starts with me. We can consider the quarterback change as you review this game. Yeah, we're just, we're going to watch everything, Pat. No, that's not in my mind.

That's not a denial. That first series, you're like seasons over. Well, the pick six to Van Grinkle or the kid who's any edge. Yeah, that's the worst play. But he's awful. Throwing stuff in the flat, just basic stuff. Boom, is a challenge. Now, the good news for Giants fans is that they have Washington on deck.

Daniel Jones has really dominated Washington, but that's the old Washington. Now, Dan Quinn, who was in Dallas, and he ate up Jones historically. I don't know. to do. All I know is the Giants are a really bad football team right now. Like Malik neighbors had... You like those new unies? Oh, so ugly. They're so ugly. I'm just so happy I'm not a Giants fan. I mean, you guys have had your Super Bowls.

Hooray, wonderful. And now you stink. And I mean, look at the jersey, Colin. It's like something out of a bad movie. Final story is your Houston Texans. Got a big win. Did not cover the spread, though, which was nice. Stefan Diggs had two touchdowns. Joe Mixin. Boy, Bengals, could have used him. Mixing looks spry. Had a buck 59.

By the way, when he went there, my first, remember when he went to Houston? I'm like, why isn't everybody celebrating this? He's a top three back in the league. I love Joe Mixing. Well, no, no, no. I'm not saying he's a perfect human. I'm just saying judging the football stuff. Joe Mixing, he may not be Seekwan in terms of elusiveness, but power.

I don't mean, we got a Bengals fan. I love Joe Mixing. He looks spry. Like, he looked like he's lighter and quicker. I mean, I was pretty impressed. He's a big-time player. So listen, two new additions accounted for three touchdowns. C.J. Stroud was perfect on third down.

He is. Look, if you are, wonder if you have the right quarterback. Like, you watch Bryce Young play and you watch C.J. Stroud. Bryce Young can never get as good as C.J. Stroud. I don't care about situation. Yeah, that's not happening. You watch Bryce Young or Will Levis. They will never be as good as C.J. Stroud.

He is so effortlessly accurate. He can be off platform, moving to the wrong side. He can be rushed, step up. That ball just comes out, boom. He is a beautiful, effortless thrower of the football. I love watching him play. If you look at recent draft classes, a lot of these quarterbacks are flopping. They're not looking good.

You go back to that Trevor Lawrence class. It's like since then, the quarterbacks have not been good. CJ Stroud, by far, has been the best guy to come out of the drive. You don't even have to. I'm not sure if anybody in this league throws a prettier ball than C.J. Stroud. I mean, it comes out of his hands. Well, Anthony Richardson's got a pretty big arm. He's got a back foot, 65 yards in the air?

He is. Both those teams are good. Colts Texans are both good teams. And Anthony, did you see the touchdown run there? I think it was on fourth down late, like a two-yard ride. And he got in there carrying defendants. Anthony Richardson's fun, but C.J. Stroud is good. Well, I thought, I thought like Buffalo, Arizona, watching Josh Allen, a totally different body type than Kyler Murray, I thought was tremendous television.

The little guy scampering around, the 6.6. quarterback. It was good. Herbaline with the news. Jay Mack with the news, excuse me. All right.
