I thought they outplayed. I thought Tyler Adams was the best. best player on the pitch. I thought he was as one of the, a sensational, sensational performance by Tyler Adams. I know non-socker fans. There's no score. Let me tell you something. Tyler Adams controlled a lot of personal battles, the tempo, the pace.

I thought he was sensational. It felt like Ed Reed out there, just patrolling the field, back-saving plays. By the way, the U.S. did not allow a goal against England. and against Wales, the only goal they allowed was a penalty kick. So this defense has been pretty darn good. Greg Burhalter, the first thing he did was clean up the back end. They were a mess defensively. And they really didn't.

For years and years, we always had goalies. But over the last two years, we've been trying to find somebody in the net. And Matt Turner has been sensational. It's always been sort of the backbone of us. We can't find scores. And we still have sort of a striker issue. But I thought it was a very, I thought we were aggressive. I thought we had

opportunities. I mean, I honestly came out of that and I thought we could have easily beaten England. We could play with almost anyone in the world. I don't know that we could beat them, but we can certainly be on the pitch with them and Iran tomorrow? I think we win that game.

Yes. That was really fun. Very excited. I don't know how anybody, any American watches the United States men's national team in a World Cup and is not literally feel like they're going to throw up. I am so nervous.

watching our guys. Edge of the seat the entire time, nail-biting, texting a million friends. Everybody's into it. It was awesome. All right. We do it every Monday at this time. Colin Wright.

Colin wrong. Here we go. Where Colin was right. I said three weeks ago, the top three quarterbacks in this league and they've separated from every buddy else are Mahalms, Josh Allen, and Joe Burrow. They're now seven and four.

He started rough because of a surgery in the off-season, but he didn't have his number one running back or his number one receiver and he goes to Tennessee and beats the brilliantly coached Tennessee Titans. 23 TDs this year, completing almost 69% of his throws in a passer rating of 102. Where Colin was wrong. Listen, Russell Wilson's certainly not all his fault,

but he's been brutal. Accuracy is dipped. Teammates yelling at him. He has eight touchdown passes all year. That's fewer than Carson Wentz, who hasn't played in a month. They're dead last in scoring. Listen, I like Russell Wilson, but this is far worse than I thought it would be. He's 31st in completion percentage.

I mean, I never thought he was Joe Montana, but he's that inaccurate. Passer rating in the low 80s. Is he washed? Maybe I'm wrong. Where Colin was right? Told you two months ago, you would see that Caleb Williams was the best quarterback in college football, and I was told before the season he would be the number one pick in the draft if he was eligible. He wrapped up the Heisman this weekend. There is nothing he can't do.

Move, throw, accurate, adjust. He's got 34 passing touchdowns, 10 rushing touchdowns, so it's 44 total touchdowns, and three interceptions. And again, this is a brand new roster. Caleb Williams, after the demolition of Notre Dame. I think we're as good as any team, and it doesn't, I'm not just talking about today. From spring ball to summer workouts and things like that, I thought we were going to be a great team. You know, the outside world, we talked about this, is that the outside world is going to say what they have to say. And we're 11 and 1 right now. So obviously it doesn't matter.

And we thought we were a great team, like I said, and we've shown it. USC fans, wrap your arms around Caleb Williams. He is one of one. That is arguably the greatest player, talent. I'm serious. They've ever had. There's just nothing else in the country like Caleb Williams. Good kid, rock solid, all-world talent.

And if you don't give him the Heisman, give up your ballot. I mean, seriously. Just stop voting. Give it up. You didn't watch the games. That's fine. Where Colin was wrong. Well, I said the Jets shouldn't bench Zach Wilson.

And then I watched the game. and I realize Zach Wilson is the second best quarterback for the Jets. Mike White's good. He's good. I mean, I've seen him do stuff before, right? But you watch them in a rainstorm, and I know the Bears' defense isn't great, but he had 315 yards, three TDs. It's still not a great offensive line.

He's got Zip on the ball. He's accurate. As Trent Dilfer said, he's got the past catalog. He can make several throws. Obviously, Robert Sala after the game summed it up. The coaches like him, the players like him. He did a great job. You know, he didn't need to be anybody but Mike White.

We didn't need to turn into the greatest show on turf. We just wanted him to play within himself and play efficient. He made the easy look easy. And I thought he did a really good job with that. That was wrong. Mike White is the Jets best quarterback. Yeah, you didn't need to bench Zach Wilson for any other reason that he was the Jets' second best quarterback. All right.

Where Colin was right. Trevor Lawrence, baby. the light has flipped on. In his last three weeks, six TDs, no picks, 76 completion percentage, 116 passer rating. He's getting a feel for the offense. Doug Peterson's given him support. He is clearly the number one quarterback in his class. His last couple of drives against the Ravens, I mean, I'm talking lasers all over the field, multiple tough throws on late downs, Trevor Lawrence officially, as good as we thought he would be. Where Colin was right?

Jim Harbaugh critics. It's awfully quiet out there. Power outage in Ohio? I don't see anything on the internet. Last two years, he is 24 and 2. The team has an identity. He has blown out the Buckeyes in back-to-back years. And you know what?

He can coach. Turned around San Diego. Turned around Stanford. It's turned around Michigan. Got to a Super Bowl. I don't win a Super Bowl title either to Dan Marino. They're sort of hard to win. Jim Harbaugh, top five coach in college football, been saying it for years.

Now it's impossible to deny. Where Colin was wrong. Two, two, a, two, uh, I thought they'd make the playoffs. I thought he would improve. I didn't think he'd be this good. Number one passerating in the league. Listen, he's an accurate thrower of the football, but I thought the Drew Brees comps were silly.

Maybe they weren't. number two in completion percentage. He always had the leadership thing. You know, he stepped to the podium. He's an adult. He's a grown-up. He can handle that stuff. He came from a dominant college program,

a dominant high school program. But they have not lost a game that two starts and finishes. They're eight and three. And I thought they'd be good. I didn't think they'd be this. Where Colin was right? Well, we have been saying for a month, the Rams got to get back into the NFL draft

business, it's time to move off Jalen Ramsey. He got burned by a tight end this weekend. He's had a lousy year. And Jalen Ramsey's a good player, but you're not letting go a Stafford, Cooper, Cup, or Aaron Donald. That's the foundation of your franchise. Everybody else can be moved. And the reality is Jalen Ramsey now is expensive, is sometimes engaged, sometimes isn't. And if you look at the year he's had, opposing quarterbacks have a hundred-past. acerating against him. He is getting burned regularly. I think it's time to move him. You could get a number one pick. Where Colin was right. I said be patient with the Raiders. Stop this fire. Josh McDaniels talk. This was a tire fire. It takes longer to turn around bad businesses. The Raiders have

the quarterback, the left tackle, the star pass rusher, the star receiver, and a big time running back. They'll win games. Just give them some time. Josh McDaniel. knows what he's doing, but this is not an easy job. This is not like Andy Reid and the Chiefs where you've got great ownership, a great front office. There's a lot of instability with the Raiders. They've got some momentum. It may be too late for them to make the playoffs,

but they got there last year and they've got the right quarterback, the right coach, and the right leadership. Not every business you can turn around overnight. Where Colin was right? Ah, the snarky hipsters laughed at me when I said the Vikings may double their wins. Well, they're nine and two, and look at that schedule. Jets, lions, Colts, Giants, Green Bay, Chicago? No, no.

I said before the year, they lost a ton of one possession games. If you give Kirk Cousins an offensive coach and make him feel supported, this is going to be a team. I said they'd win their division. They'd pull away from Green Bay. They'll win these one possession games, and they're going to be a 13-14-ish win team. They won eight last year. They're not going to win 16, but they were going to be the most improved team in the league.

And that, after beating the Patriots, in a surprisingly high-scoring game, the Vikings are now 9 and 2. That game was, I had, you know, on paper, I thought that thing would be. I thought that was the best Mac Jones had played in a long time. Yeah. Two or three touchdowns. He looked like an NFL quarterback. Vikings defense is bad. Mike White comes to town this week.

Your new guy, your new favorite guy, Mike White, right? I mean, I'll watch the game. And then you're like, in rainy weather, I'm like, oh, Mike White's better than Jack Wilson. It's okay. Dak a fourth rounder. Kirk Cousins a fourth rounder. Brady is six-rounder, Montana, later rounder.

Was Drew Breeze, a second rounder? Second rounder, yeah. But Mike White went to the senior bowl and was awesome. But then he had to go to the combine and he's like slow and he's not athletic, very limited. I think he's six-five. So his stock kind of fell a little bit. I think he fell to the fifth or six round, right?

Like you said? Yeah, but I mean, at some point, it's like people bang on Kirk Cousins and Jimmy Garoppolo. And my takeaway is, if you're completing 67, 68% of your throws, that's, that's like a high percent. And this league, it's hard to take guys off the field when they move the sticks. Mike White is moving the sticks. Third down's a first down. Third down's a first down. It's hard to, and that Jets defense, when you give them like time to recuperate and rest,

and it's not a three and out offense, they're even better. Yeah. Mike White, accuracy is kind of a big deal in the NFL, right? I mean, he's good at that. Yes. Zach Wilson, it's a rough. One more herd? The herd streams 24 hours a day, seven days a week,

I hate to say, that's so much pressure on Sean. But he's already coached for 15 years. He's got a Super Bowl. He comes in on money.

My buddy's always say, hey, is Peyton coming on this Monday? He's missed one Monday. Of course he's coming on. So I want to talk about something. You just brought up a fascinating point that we were talking about Caleb Williams. And it's with Mahomes, we didn't get to see him play college. And it was a small brand. Now we know what Mahomes looks like.

Now it's the USC brand. And now it's Caleb Williams. And it's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, he would be the number one pick now. And you made an interesting point. Yeah, I think, well, a couple things. It's healthy when we, in scouting, like to say, well, who does he remind you of? And we're not putting that pressure on Caleb saying, oh, you're going to be the next moment. But it's very good when you can say he's like this.

And so I brought it up yesterday on the show. I think he's a generational player now. I've seen three or four games, obviously not as much as I would if I was truly doing the evaluation. But at some point, especially with the relationship our league has in gaming now, at some point we're going to move to a lottery system in the NFL. Because this is a player that possibly does that, where at the end of the season, here you are, and we call it 14, 12, and clubs begin to lose to try to put themselves in that position.

That's not been a problem to date with our league as we know it. I mean, and it very well could have been. We've had two teams that I know lost games. One of them was to get James Winston. Tampa Bay, Lovie Smith, great coach, a good friend. And we're losing to the Buccaneers last game of the season. All their starters were pulled. All the linebackers were pulled.

And I'm on the headset in the third quarter asking our staff, like, what do you mean? Levante David's out. Coach, he's out, such and such. And right away, they were at the one spot. Had they won that game, they risked going to the two spot, and they wanted to select James Winston. So that actually happened, but it happened at 1 o'clock on a small rating game,

and it just disappeared in Tampa, and we never talked about it. That's right. Now, last year on a national stage, or two years ago, I forget, Philadelphia, Philadelphia took out their starting quarterback and put in Nate Sudfield. And everyone thought, what are they doing in this? And it was on Monday night football now or Sunday night football.

And that was a problem for the league. And it was a problem because, look, Philly wanted to stick at the five or six spot. There was nothing that they were playing for. You're always playing for something, though. And you lose a little piece of your locker room when you do that, I think. but this player I think is the type of player that we would look back on in five years and say he's why the lottery exists now.

Like who's the worst team? If I said who's going to have the worst record next year? Well, probably Houston, if they, if Houston decided, Jason said this during the break, we're going to take Will Anderson of Alabama, we're going to go get our generational pass rusher and stink on offense and an offensive lead. And then, by the way, warm weather, Caleb Williams running around. You know, I mean, I'm here for it. It's eventually it's going to happen. Because look, we weren't tied to the casinos, but as soon as this spreads at six,

and all of a sudden we watched the Eagles at that time or the Buccaneers or another team pull their starters and you're sitting, you know, with a parley going, that's going to piss some people off. I think it is. So, you know, speaking of great quarterbacks. So I like Kyler Murray and have defended him. But when you go public with your problems, okay, if you, if I was having problems with my wife, I certainly wouldn't argue with her at a party.

Okay. When you go public with stuff, the toxicity, people don't want to be around you. So I've had the owner with this franchise in Arizona put an addendum out in a contract. track to embarrass the player. Now I have the player yesterday ripping the schematics with the coach. And I think, if I'm a coach and Cliff gets fired, I want no part of that. I think they have a real mess on their hands. Is it solvable?

Yeah, it's a good question. It's certainly more of a Rubik's cube than a simple X and an O thing. I mean, this is, it's pretty complex. It began to become complex when word got out about the contract. you know the additional I was a ball boy for this team back in I'm going to date myself but when the St. Louis Cardinals

before they were the Arizona Cardinals their training camp was held at Eastern Illinois where I went to school and so the early years there in 83, 84, 85 it was Hannafin and then became Gene Stollings you know we'd clean the rooms bring towels to the rooms

we'd have a summer job. Neil Lomax teams. Neil Lomax had just taken over for Jim Hart Mr. Bidwell Senior was the owner at that time. And I think I know that family well enough. And shoot, Joe Buck was, I was 18 or 19, and he was 16. He was there. And then finally, my junior senior year, I handed out rosters and got to eat with the team, worked for the team.

So, yeah, I, I'd like to say this is something that's a one-off, but this repeats itself. every year. I mean, it's and it's the teams that aren't having the success they expected. You know, it's frustrating when you lose. Man, you're seeing it in Denver. You're seeing it in New Orleans. You know, Alvin didn't talk to the media

yesterday. You had two fumbles. He's got, all these things build up and they're magnified when you lose. And then when you don't, you know, when you have success, it seems to be like the nice spaghetti sauce that covers everything. And it all just tastes good.

I said this watching the Jetsch yesterday, because I didn't want to bench Zach Wilson. And then Sean, I watched the game and I thought, Mike White's the better quarterback. As a professional, bigger, accurate? Obviously, this is the part we never get to see, right? We don't get to see the seven-on-sevins during the week, the scout team practice. And so when the decision was made, hey, we're going to sit. Zach, and then, man, one step further, he's not going to be active. That was unusual, right? And we're going to play this Mike White. I mean, we were like, I'm thinking, why not Flacco? And then we see Mike

White, and then I'm like, Google searching Western Kentucky Hill Toppers, you know? And that's the insight that they're privy to or they have. And look, uh, he's accurate. Yeah, that was something, you know, and so this guy is, is in obscurity here, and all of a sudden he's doing the post-game interview with whoever's covering the game. You know, he's won the game ball. Right. And so that was a good win for them. And in a good time, the timing, I think, was good as well relative to who they were playing.

A lot of things, you know. Their way. Yeah. And so, but that's what the head coach does. And I think credit Robert. I mean, that was, you know, hey, things like that can energize. your team. Even when you're winning, I just had this conversation with another team. When you're winning, that doesn't mean everything is just status quo. You're still looking for, hey, how do we improve?

That's right. And that's a great message and a sign to your whole locker room. And look, it'll be discomforting. It won't be pleasant for Zach, but that'll eventually go down. The medicine will go down, and he'll be better for it. So I remember when Jordan loves him. I remember when Jordan came out. And I called a couple executives who I trust. And they both kind of had the same opinion. He's a little rough. He needs time to develop. He has to refine his game. His mechanics

be a little sloppy. And he's not quite mature enough to run your franchise. Well, now he's 24. He'll be 25 next November. He's moving into adulthood. And I watched him last night. There's something there. Yeah. And prior to last night, I feel

like he's been this like almost this figure that none of us know anything about. Anything. He just, I don't know how many years it's been since he was drafted first, but we just like, what about love? And someone got a clever picture last night of love hurts.

I saw that. And I thought that's the photo of the year. I thought he did well with the reps he had last night. I thought he did very well with the reps he had last night. And sometimes the timing which you enter, like when you're Mike White, you're entering a situation where you're playing with house money. Aaron's hurt.

Yeah. And when you're when your love coming in, you're behind, like Aaron's injured, you know, it's much more difficult when you enter, oh, and you're in a position where you've been winning and you've got to continue to win. We saw that in Dallas with their guy earlier in the year. So I thought last night was the first time I was anxious. I mean, we've all been saying, hey, when are we going to see love? see him play. Yeah, I want to see him. I want to see this

like car come out of the garage. Right. And we saw it a little bit. We kind of liked it. Yep. I want to talk about Sean Payton's joining us for our radio listeners. I want to talk about the Niners because it was an ugly game and you know, you can tell the good teams in this league. They don't play well and they win. That's when you're good. When you just know about the second quarter, the game plan's not great. Guys, we just got to pick up. You had some breeze teams like that.

You figure out a way to win. Nineers had one of those. Jason said something. earlier, they are 1985 physical. Like almost on the edge of being, that's a little bit. I love it. So you love it. Yeah, I do because I think it's hard. Look, our practice times are reduced. The padded opportunities are reduced.

All of these things in the off season are reduced. Training camp, all of it, right? And so, man, you feel that team when you watch them. I mean, you see it. It's coaching. It's also the players. And I know it wasn't aesthetically pleasing maybe for a lot of people relative to the 49ers. But I would argue defensively, it's brilliant.

Their confidence yesterday, like they were talking about a shutout. Like, that was very much on their mind. Mind you, the first shutout the Saints have had since 21 years ago. Since I don't know when, 2001. They've never been shut out. So I know that they've got to clean some things up offensively. The hardest thing is the head coach when you go in there. You're Kyle.

You're the play caller. You're in charge of moving the ball and scoring touchdowns. You have to be able to go into that locker room and celebrate that win, which I'm sure he did, and celebrate the dominance of how they play defensively. That is going to serve you well later. And so it wasn't the perfect game that we wanted to see because the scoring was down. But, man, it's the perfect game if I'm a 49ers fan. And I understand that I'm going to have to play this.

team to get where I want to go or I'm going to have to play this cowboy team. I think they're one of the best teams in the NFC. And I think they can win the Super Bowl. So do I. I want to talk about because Drew Brees did this and you did this a lot. There are just certain people. I remember spotting fairly early about year four or five with Eli Manning. And it was about the time he won a Super Bowl.

I was like, boy, he's good in the two minute drill. Some guys, the DNA, whatever, it at Russell Wilson for years in Seattle. It was almost like he was better late. than he was early. Yeah. And I'm watching Justin Herbert win another fourth quarter comeback. He hasn't had Mike Williams. Keenan Allen was there yesterday.

O-line missing his left tackle. He's had cluster injuries all over the offense. He's got a defensive head coach. There are some things working against him. But there is something about the way he plays. And I want you to kind of go into the brain of Breeze and you late. I find sometimes Herbert is better. I, Burroughs got a little bit of this too.

Yeah, I know exactly what you're saying. And I would agree with it. Urgency. Yeah, and there's a more spontaneous flow to the game. When we watch the World Cup tomorrow, there's an ebb and flow. There's no plays. I'm not sending in, hey, winger right, kick it left. There's a flow to that.

And some of that exists a little bit more in the two-minute. That doesn't exist when we collect ourselves, huddle up, change personnel, go out to the line of scrimmage, call a play, run a play, huddle up again. The same personnel's on the field. There's probably seven or eight routes, a couple handoffs in a screen. And that's what you use in the two-minute drill. That's what we use. And so, look, when you get with someone who's really good, and I was with Breeze, man, he was the best in that. Sit back and watch it happen. Like, in other words, I'm going to beep in. I've got the remote, but I'm going to beep in when clock stops.

You know, in other words, occasionally I might say Drew heads up for whatever, or be it, but he's going, his mind is thinking, and then let's say the pass is incomplete, boom, we huddle. All right, here's a thought. Tell me if you like it, if not, get right back to one of your plays. Like, he's got one of the eight plays that he likes, and he might just look at me and say, I'd like something else, or, you know, he might like something. So when we have the meeting the night before games, we would look at our two-minute call sheet,

would dot the four he likes at a double, and he'd like the four he likes at a trips, and then maybe three or four from empty with the same personnel. And so we kind of have an outline versus this defense and what they do defensively in the two-minute of what he wanted to call. And then right beneath that, we had huddle calls that had the same personnel that were in the plan in other areas, but we could access them right there without change in bodies. Right. So, yeah, I think, look, that's a good sign for a young player to be that comfortable in it, because he's still young and to watch him. I thought Trevor Lawrence yesterday was better in those hurry-up offenses.

Yeah, and so now, it's just got to be, it's just got to be, it can't be all the time, because there is a downside defensively. We saw this with Chip Kelly. You're right. Everything that, you know, that was the new rage. we're going to get 100 plays off. And the whole time your defense is struggling, your time of possession, all of that. So there's a balance.

But, man, we had two walk-off, two-pointer wins yesterday. We had a walk-off overtime run. It was interesting. The finishes, both teams we saw win going for two. I thought the Chargers two-point play was fantastic. I want to look at that clip again. Not Joe Brady. What am I say?

Joe LaBardi. You know, just a little fly motion. And it was just kind of a little stick-in, you know, with a bird. vertical release. It shouldn't be that easy. So when I see a play like that, I say play, not player, right? That's right. High release point by the QB, good drive by those guys and an exciting win for them. And as fun as that was, we go back to Phoenix and we had the crisis back there we were talking about earlier. We were this close away from that being flipped. Right. Well, that's the league. That's the league. Yeah. I want to talk about Jim Harbaugh was in the

NFL for a while. He can rub people the wrong way. I once had a disastrous interview with him live, and we decided to just hang up. He's different. He's intense. But I do tend to think that when I see a really good coach, the team becomes the coach. Vrable's teams are tough. Belichick's resourceful and smart. Andy's clever. You become a part of the personality. And I watch Michigan this weekend, and I'm like, they're a little bit like Harbaugh, wildly competitive, almost over-the-top intense, physical, not gifted, physical. And I watch him and I'm like, do you remember coaching against Jim? Yeah, listen, he's a really good coach. University of San Diego, we worked with the Raiders as an assistant, Stanford, and he eventually makes his way to the 49ers and probably our most difficult loss that I can think of.

in 2011, our best team in New Orleans played the 49ers back at Candlestick. Alex Smith was a quarterback. Throughout the course of that game was fairly low scoring. And in the last four minutes, I think four touchdowns were scored. And the momentum just went back and forth. And it was Sproles. And then it was the 49ers. And then it was freaking Jimmy Graham scores.

And then they score with 28 seconds. And they win this game and end up losing to the Giants. and our matchup with the Giants we thought was such a good one. And then the Super Bowl team they had with Kaepernick. Look, I know Jim, I know his brother John Moore, because John and I worked together at Philadelphia, but they come from a head coach's family, Jack Carr, you know, and so he's a football coach.

They had an outstanding day the other day. And it was a culmination of a number of years. You know, it took a while. Absolutely. But, you know, there it was, and they're clearly one of the teams. Look, the thing about it for me, my son's at TCU, and he's a student assistant. They're at four, probably going to go to three. I don't know how this all works.

So they'll open up with them. But there's a chance they're playing Michigan, you know, and then I can't stand hardball if that's the case. Then I'm with, you know, I don't want to do the interview with him. But I like him. I think he's good. He's not for everyone, but a lot of these guys aren't. and that doesn't matter. Ultimately, it was a great weekend because, look, we went through a stretch.

It was interesting when they showed the head coach's history. That rivalry has been in clumps of five or six. And then chances are if you were the other coach, you probably got fired. So the five or six. They're just clumps. And it's such an important game to those two universities and such an important game to the alumni. and look, I sat next to Charles Woodson and walked in, like he was

just on cloud night. Yeah, so good for Michigan. By the way, you said before we let you go, you said a couple weeks ago, you said, you know, I don't know if you said it to me on the air off, but you said, you know, I kind of like some of the Raiders pieces. That's an interesting team. And to your point,

back to back weeks, it's, that's not over the course of 10 years, the Benson family. It's not been well run. You didn't have a Mickey Loomis. This is going to, this rebuild. is not a nine-game rebuild. Yeah, that's right. And so...

I was happy for him yesterday. I was too. Who has that vision? Who has that vision forward to look at the incremental gains that maybe we don't all get to see? We have to fight Manic Monday, right? I mean, look, we love Monday.

There's so much to discuss. But I think it's important and not everyone can do this. Look clearly at the ship and say, are we heading in the right direction or are we heading to an iceberg? Right. And the Raiders just found a way. Top place to play.

This is the herd line news. Tough calling to follow Sean Payton. I mean, what a storyteller. He's good. But we'll try. We'll give it a shot. Why don't we talk about the Jets? You know, let's work that minute.

the show, yeah, yeah, yeah. So they make the quarterback switch. Mike White delivers 315 yards, three touchdowns. Yes, he carved up a terrible bear's defense. He did. But after the win, here's what the jet said about Mike White. Personally, the way I approach the quarterback position is being a calming presence in the huddle, especially when things aren't going well, because that's when things can start to spiral and snowball. But it's just a just, distributing the ball and letting them them be who they are. They're all in that locker room for a reason. This is the NFL.

Everybody that wears pads on Sundays are very good, and you just got to get them the ball and get their confidence going. And once someone's confidence is up, I believe at least that you'll see their game go to the next level. Good for him. Listen, life's about opportunities. He got one and made the most of it in rainy weather. Probably going to work against the Vikings.

They have a nearly as bad of a. past defense as the Bears. Some of the numbers say the Vikings are one of the worst past defenses in the league. And it's indoors. The week after that at Buffalo, they get pressure on the quarterback. Mike White, not mobile. Let's just worry about one game at a time. One game at a time, baby. One game at a time. Up next, Justin Herbert. Boy, what a finish. I honestly think he's better. I think he is better with two minutes to go. I swear to God he's better. Some of the play calling very questionable during the game, but down seven less than two minutes left. Herbert goes the distance of the field and the two-point conversion. Colin, it was a pretty phenomenal ending.

Gerald Everett caught it. I got to just say, if you watch the Cardinals, all they did was blitz, blitz, blitz. They hit Justin Herbert 13 times. Go look at that final drive on YouTube. It's crazy. He's getting hit every play. Well, and still deliver. They've had major injuries on the O line, and so he doesn't have his star left tackle. So the good news for the Chargers, They've addressed the O-line the last two years in the draft and in trades. So they have like a little bit of depth on the O-line. Thank God they drafted a kid from Boston. I think Zion Johnson, I think.

Yeah, yeah, he's playing well. Yeah, he's played very well. They got a six-rounder out of Georgia. He moved over to left tackle. He's a guard. So thank God, Telesco, the GM, Tom, has, they've addressed the O-line. They've got just enough depth to survive losing Rishon Slater. That was a wild last draw.

Brandon Staley needed that win. Oh, big time. Huge. And listen, they tried to address the run defense for like three years now, Colin. They let James Connor look like Walter Payton out there. Yeah, like 120 yards rushing. Like, it's Arizona. They couldn't do anything against San Francisco.

Chargers, they got a little lucky, but I love Justin Herbert. All right, final story, Colin. Winner go home for the U.S. tomorrow at the World Cup. Final match of the group stage against Iran. Listen, a draw or a loss, and they're done. Okay. U.S. has to get aggressive. Now, I wrote this up for foxports.com. If you look at Iran's defense, they were shredded by England.

England had total control of the ball. Guess what happened against Wales? Wales had control the ball for the entire match. They got a red card. Iran was able to score two goals late. The U.S. should win this. I don't want to say handily because nothing's easy. Well, against, and I'll throw this at you and you follow it more closely.

But against England, we were very aggressive in the first half. But you have to be careful because they can counter and burn you. Iran does not seem as capable. We can be aggressive and it's not as punitive if they counter. So to me, it tells you we'll probably have a very aggressive approach. I do wonder if, you know, for possession, are we going to see more Gio Raina, the young kid who came on late? There's a lot of drama and controversy. We won't get into it.

He's only 19, though. Is it possible this is too big of a state? There's some issue. Apparently there's some stuff with Burrhalter and him. I don't want to get into it. But bottom line is we need to see him out there. He is one of the most promising players we have. Overall, Colin, our lineup has been great. I got to give Burrhalter props.

That game plan against England. They choked the middle so England had no real attacking through the middle. And it was just a great game plan. It worked wonders. You got a tie against England. They're one of the three best teams in the field. Okay, that was a great result. Look at the upsets we've had.

Yeah. This thing, it's almost like college football this year. The World Cup appears to be a little more open. Yeah. Than the perception. It's not as, we felt like there was a hierarchy. There were like four teams. It doesn't appear to be the case.

It's weird. The North America, Canada, they're done. It scored one goal. Mexico has yet to score a goal. They're on the road. The U.S. has one goal. So what's up with the North American soccer teams not really scoring over there? Now, remember, there is that rumor like,

Oh, the South America and North America teams don't deliver at a World Cup on the other side of the world, but it's here in 2026 where we should do much better, obviously, with a home field advantage. You know, we've talked a couple of times about the Kyler Murray call out on the staff after the game. I just thought I couldn't believe this.

And I've defended Kyler Murray. but basically he called out Kingsbury after the game after losing and here's the bite. Worth an inch is calling the second quarter that resulted in interception. Did you like the call? Did you feel like you had a hop? No, it wasn't. That wasn't for Hop actually. Schematically, I mean, they kind of, we were kind of f***.

I'd try to keep that to myself. You know, like I said before, you don't have to show every meal on Twitter. You don't have to share every thought. You don't, when you go to a microphone, a podium as a franchise quarterback, some of it is what you don't say, not just what you do. And, you know, that's where the maturity comes in. And I've supported Kyler. But you got the owner out there putting an addendum on his contract and leaking it to embarrass him. You now have Kyler saying that.

We've seen confrontations. this is becoming an unattractive job to guys like Sean Payton who may go back to coaching. Sean Payton sitting out there. Everybody understands he's going to look around. That has become toxic. Like too noisy, I'm out. Not interested. A lot of coaches have egos.

They think they can handle Kyler Murray. Buy or beware. He's talented. He's not a talent issue. He also knows he got paid. He doesn't care. We know he doesn't do the homework. They don't love him in the locker room.
