Oh, here we go. Breaking News live in L.A. It's the herd wherever you may be. However you may be listening. IHeart Radio, Fox Sports Radio, FS1. We say it here. It comes out there. Five minutes ago, I asked Joy Taylor, what are the Steelers doing at quarterback? What are they doing?

And officially, Joy, we've got breaking news. Two-year deal, Mitchell Chibisky. He is the expected starter. Very athletic. Limited arm. They're better today with Mitch Trubisky than Big Ben or Mason Rudolph, in my opinion. Listen, I know Mitchell Trubisky's reputation. I get it.

I didn't really love him either. But he is a bridge guy. You can't just not have a quarterback. That's not an option in today's NFL. Well, remember this. In Chicago, he had a great defense and made the playoffs twice. In Pittsburgh, he will inherit a great defense. and and an emerging star at tight end, Dante Johnson.

Deontay Johnson, Chase Claypool. Okay, those are really good receivers, better than he had in Chicago. You've got a better tight end than he had in Chicago, arguably. He's got running back about the same. I like Naja Harris. I don't like him as much as everybody else, but he's good. By the way, in Chicago, O-Line was an issue. In Pittsburgh, O-Line is kind of an issue.

It's the same team. The difference is he started, Trabiski, with John Fox defensive coach and got Matt Nagy and made the playoffs. The roster make-up's the same. Good defense, except Pittsburgh's got better wide receivers and a tight end. But I would say Chicago was defense, a little bit of a running game, shaky O-line, and Mitch Tribusky's athletic ability was very valuable with the Bears' average online. Pittsburgh's own lines, the weakness of the team.

Tribisky's a very good athlete, better than Alex Smith, who's also a good athlete. So he can move around. Mitch can move around a lot. Doesn't have a ball to push down the field. It's a little tie rod Taylor. You're not going to push the ball way down the field, but the Pittsburgh Steelers are better today. They're not as good as Cincinnati.

I don't think they're still as good as Cleveland, probably. But I mean, I don't know where they're at, but this, and by the way, I think right now they are third in that division. Before this, they were fourth. All right. I don't believe in Baker Mayfield at all. I've sold all of my stock on it. You did.

I, I, I, is the Warren Buffett. The barn is empty. The Bayer Mayfield stock. Sold, sell it off. Sell it low. No, I like this move. It's a bridge situations. People are going to freak out,

but the history on Mitchell Chubisky is a little foggy. He's 29, 21 as a starter. You know, playoffs twice. In a division with a Hall of Fame quarterback. With Aaron Rogers. So just simmer down a little bit. He's not the future. He's not going to be the guy for the next 10 years.

He's way more. He's way more athletic than Mason Rudolph. he's way less expensive than Big Ben. So you're going to be able to supplement the Steelers O line maybe. Go out and get somebody. And it's a two-year deal. There's no saying that you can't move up in the draft next year in a draft that's going to have a better quarterback market than this year's draft.

Why reach for someone when you have somewhat of a known commodity in Mitchell Trubisky? Yeah. The Steelers are better today than they would have been without Mitchell Trubisky. I like it. I've been talking about this move since the end of the season. And he's cheap. Yeah. So again, you're not dealing with a big cap hit like Green Bay is, or perhaps, you know, Denver's got some cap space. So Pittsburgh's got an ability. And by the way, Mike Tomlin doesn't have a losing season. He's better than what you got. It's only two years. The money's reasonable. It's just so funny. Five minutes to go, I looked at you on the air and said, what's Pittsburgh doing? I said, I don't know. I guess maybe they're going to draft some would and not show their hand. All right. Here we go. We do it every Monday at this time where Colin was right. where Colin was wrong, plenty of both, and here we go.

Where Colin was right? Aaron Rogers, officially back with the Packers. I said, I didn't think he wanted to go scorched earth and be a villain and dump Green Bay. He likes to manipulate control narratives. He did. He moved the chess pieces around for the Packers and the media. I still don't think Green Bay has two things he would prefer. An owner, and it's not a top free agent destination.

And now you have a Devante Adams issue. but I predict that he would go back. He did. I just, you know, I don't think he wants to be a villain. That's just not him. He does care what people think. He likes to control things. And without an owner, he can control Green Bay more than most quarterbacks can, a football

franchise. Where Colin was wrong. I said it starting three years ago that Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson had issues. Russell Wilson's camp didn't like when Pete Carroll went and checked out Josh Allen. There was a rumor a year ago that I thought was legitimate. legit, I was told legit, that he and Sierra considered the New York Giants viable. The list came out, and so it's official he's gone. Listen, this is a guy that wants to be Brady.

He wants to win multiple Super Bowls. And he, I was told a couple years ago, simply did not trust the front office and the coaching decisions. He wanted out. Not a shock. It did come earlier than we thought. We thought he'd play this year in Seattle, but not a surprise. Where Colin was wrong.

Tom Brady came back. I thought there was maybe 5% chance. I thought San Francisco may be the spot, but Bruce Ariens made it clear. If you're coming back, you're not playing for anybody else. And so generally Tom, and this is why I'm wrong, Tom's really planned. He's a planner. He didn't do a lot of stuff ad-libbing it. So I am surprised that after six weeks, he's like, all right, I'm done.

I'm going to come back and play. And for that, I'm wrong. Listen, NFC's week. He's going to win a lot of games. where Colin was right? We broke the story Wednesday. Carson went to Washington, and I told you that he was not going to be in Indianapolis. Jim Ursa is an impulsive owner, not a bad owner, but he's very volatile and impulsive.

And now Indianapolis, in my opinion, is in a dark spot because you cannot win without an elite quarterback. You're running out of pieces now that Tribisky's a stealer. I would say Garoppolo is probably on their list, or they drag. a guy, but we broke the story and we said Wents was done in Indianapolis and both are right. Where Colin was right? The Cleveland Browns, according to Mary Kay Cabot, who has been breaking stories for over a decade, Cleveland's in on Deshawn Watson. I said this during the season, that Andrew Berry was running out of patience and Baker Mayfield was frankly exhausting and just too much work. Now, that doesn't mean Deshawn Watson will end up with Cleveland.

I would say they're a long shot, but don't shoot the messenger. Mary Kay has been on this for weeks. She is right. My sources are probably not hers, but they told me mid-season that Andrew Berry was looking for a veteran quarterback. The division's tougher, Joe Burroughs emergence. Here it is. Don't shoot the messenger. Where Colin was wrong. Well, I guess Mitch Trubisky would be the next quarterback with the Colts.

he's going to be the next quarterback with the Steelers. It looks like Gardner Minshu, according to Stories, is in the running for the Colts job. And by the way, before you bang on Carson Wentz, if you end up with Gardner Minchu, who you can probably get for a fourth round pick, you're going to tell me you're better? You're better than Tennessee?

I think Jacksonville with Doug Peterson and Trevor Lawrence are going to make a significant step up. So I thought this was where Mitch Trubisky would land. the Steelers probably outbid them, and Gardner Minchew appears to be the future for the Colts or Jimmy G. Where Colin was right? I said for a year now, we said. Denver is Tampa before Brady.

George Payton is an excellent young GM. They have a tremendous roster, very, very good offensive roster, wide receiver running back, and Denver landed Russell Wilson. What did they give up? A good tight end, a decent, alignment and a couple of first round picks. We said, Aaron Rogers probably ends up in Denver, didn't, so Russell Wilson did. But this was the team we identified basically a year ago and said, whoever goes to Denver,

their hole is Tampa's hole before Brady. Russell's going to win really, really fast. I want to hear how great the division is. This roster right now, Denver's, is as good as anybody in that division. vision. And that's saying something because Kansas City and the Chargers are deep and talented. Where Colin was right? The doom and gloom baseball crowd was predicting the season was in peril. And I said, April, if you own a baseball team, April's the worst month. The wind, the rain, the cold weather, the cancellations, and yet you've got to pay all the players and pay all the bills.

In the end, you're going to miss a couple of games. Baseball makes too much money for the players. too much money for the owners, and frankly, it's too important for America. We disagree and fight over everything. Baseball is a great community binder, not the coolest sport, not the hottest sport, not the most talked about sport, but it makes a lot of people money. It's great for the economy in many cities, and frankly, we all sort of grew up with baseball on the radio or baseball on the TV in the summer months by itself. It's good for America.

We argue over everything. Baseball was never going to get canceled. But you're talking about billions and billions of dollars, and you're going to fight over that stuff. Colin right, Colin wrong. By the way, there's a picture of the Mets, Max Scherzer. Mets pitching staff is good. Now, the Mets will underachieve because that's what the Mets do.

But they are, Mets pitching staff is good. All right. Mitch Trubisky. It just broke. Mitch Trubisky. is officially a Pittsburgh Steeler. So, yeah, I don't love it. I like it. It's fine.

What you don't want to be in this league is awful. That's what you don't want to be. Everyone wants a franchise quarterback. No one's saying that the Steelers don't want a franchise quarterback. If there's not one on the market, why are you going to overpay and leverage situations for next year that could be potentially more beneficial long term? Yeah, the Steelers draft and develop well. always have good weapons.

I mean, they've just, here's what the Steelers have had my entire life. A pass rush and good receivers since I was nine. For whatever reason, they draft wide receivers better than New England. Usually a running game, but. Yeah. New England cannot draft a wide receiver to save their life. Pittsburgh stumbles into receivers every draft. Whoever is the scout in charge of wide receiver talent for Pittsburgh deserves a raise.

But my whole life, they've had a pass rush and they've had receivers. So Mitch Trubisky, like how. Chicago, it's a defense first team in a division. Well, there'll be a favorite. Trubisky made the playoffs with Aaron Rogers. The Bengals and Baltimore are probably your favorites. This is not an unfamiliar scene. It's a northern, geographically, it's a northern tier team. He's played in cold weather. One of the knocks on Trubisky later in the year. He didn't have a terribly strong arm. He's athletic. So the ball kind of dies in Chicago weather. But, you know, it's something. It's better than what they have and I'll take it.

Rick Stroud been covering the bucks since when I work there is joining us now live,

host of Sports Day, Tampa Bay. You know, so much of this stuff. Let's just start with this. How surprised are you Tom's back? Let's start with that. I'm a little surprised. I'm not over-the-moon surprise. I mean, I talked to somebody close to him that said,

look, with somebody like Tom Brady, you've got to wait maybe 90s. days. It turned out it was 40 days, right? And I've said this, they've built an arc in 40 days, so why can't he change his mind? But I think Brady, you know, I don't know if he was, you know, premature and having to retire or how that all went down. It was, it was poorly handled. And so you knew something was going on this weekend when all your sources dry up, Colin. When they go zero dark 30 on you, you know, something's about ready to happen. And I didn't think it was Deshawn Watson, although they were looking into that situation. But it was, but it's, you know, it turned out that everybody wanted Tom to have this opportunity to announce it himself.

And I mean, we all, you know, had to look at that and, you know, two or three times to say, what am I looking at here? But when you put it together, at the end of the day, the guy's a football player. That's what he does. And he does it better than anybody in the world. And he just led the NFL in passing 5,317 yards, 43 touchdowns. He's going to want to play football. And I think he realized that at some point and let the Bucks know probably three or four days ago. I think they'd been pretty much clued into what he was going to do. I always thought he and Arians were an odd fit, but I didn't think it was the kind of fit that couldn't win. They won a lot.

Last year, they were 13 and 4, but I always thought, you know, a little bit old school. It's odd. You know, one guy is throw it down the field. One guy is driven by efficiency. Is there, are there differences overstated? Is my concern overstated? Yeah, totally. And in fact, you know, over the summer, or just not with summer, just since the season ended, you know,

Bruce got to a point where he was ticked off about that narrative. I was talking to him about something else about coaches and replacing coaches. And he texted me and said, hey, I've had enough of this. What do I do? And it was basically, okay, well, you know, debunk the narrative that somehow their relationship had eroded. And there was that nonsense about him redlining the game plan and stuff like that just didn't happen. You know, does everybody get along with everybody all the time? I've been married for a while.

I don't get along all the time with my wife. but I love her and I'm going to stay married. So I think that, you know, Tom has enjoyed his time here. And from an organizational standpoint, he's close to Jason Light. He knows that they will do everything they can within their power. And they have done that to put him in the best position to win. And he gives him that chance. And so they're going to take it and they'll do it again.

And I never believe that he would go somewhere else, Colin. I know we've heard, you know, San Francisco and things like that. being around Tom in the short time that I've had, you know, he creates edges, right, like Jordan did. And they passed on them and got Joe Carmazzi to begin with. And then when he was a free agent, he called them. I mean, they approached the 49ers. They thought about it and said no. There was no way in my mind he was going to give the 49ers a third chance to turn him down.

And so I think, you know, Jason Light said it. If he's going to play, he was going to play here. And that's what he's decided. All right. Give us an update on Gronk. I thought Gronk looked really good last year. The warm weather, having lived in Tampa for a short time, that warm weather, the bones don't ache nearly as much as they do in New England.

Gronk, you think he comes back? I think he absolutely comes back. I imagine him, like in that commercial, yelling at his mom, where's my football pants? I mean, I think that's happening, you know. Tom would have called him much the way he called Ryan Jensen. they've gotten him back, you know, for three years, $13 million a year. He probably could have gotten 15 on the open market. So you're right.

I mean, Rob played some really good football down the stretch. Yeah. Now, he was beat up. You know, he broke those ribs against the Rams. That was no joke. And I think it reminded him of why he retired in the first place. But he absolutely loves playing for Brady. And I don't think he can say no to Tom.

So if Tom is in, I think Ronk will be in real soon. Yeah, by the way, good point. Ryan Jensen, who's a really top five center in the league, has re-signed. So that is a big, big deal. Finally, you know, Brady's dad said there was this pressure from outside to retire. And as you alluded to, it was a clunky ending. It was out of the blue. You know, he would talk to Jim Gray two weeks later and say, oh, you never say never. When his dad said outside sources, how do you interpret that? What does that mean? You know, I'm not exactly sure. I think maybe he had made up his mind that he was going to do it. I don't know that he was ready to announce it. There was really no pressure to have him announce that. And it got out in the media, you know, Jason Lockham for at first and then 20 hours later, Adam Schepter and Jeff Darlington pretty much said, no, he's retiring. And then there was a couple days that passed him. You're kind of like, well, okay, why aren't we hearing from Brady? And then he did do it. I don't think he was on his own

time or maybe his own terms. I do think he was, you know, ready to do that at the time, but it was just clunky, and I don't know who to blame for that really necessarily. Tom keeps the circle pretty tight and somebody obviously went outside of it, so I don't really know.

All right, Rick Stroud, Buck's reporter, Tom Brady, is officially back, and it's good for us at Fox. These NFC quarterbacks like Russ going to the other conference, that's not good for our business. Rick, as usual, good senior, great info. Thanks, bud.

Great seeing you, Colin. Thank you. Yeah. So, you know, it's interesting. So let's, Joy, let's just top my head right now. Okay. So Denver was a team that we needed a quarterback. Check. All right. Pittsburgh needed a quarterback. Check. Tampa

needed a quarterback, we thought, right? Check. So now Colts, Seahawks, Saints. So we just changed teams. So Colts, Seahawks, Saints. And Panthers. Well, the Panthers have, I would say Panthers have Darnel. They have something. They're not happy with it, maybe. They have something. But the Colts don't have anything. Seahawks don't have anything. Saints don't have what they want. They have Taysam Hill. I still contend Malik Willis to the Saints. Tasem Hill shares a lot of us qualities. I think that's really an interesting one.

Oh, you're right. That's right. My bad. Washington. Who broke that story? Oh, it was us. Anywho. Okay, Washington needed a quarterback. So that's four. Okay, so now what do we have on the market? Well, someone is going to trade for Deshawn Watson. Okay, let's do that. Deshawn Watson? Jimmy Garoppolo. Jimmy G. Teddy Bridgewater.

To Rod Taylor. James Winston. I'm getting pretty desperate. I would say Jimmy G and Deshawn feel like, let's see. Well, Seattle's not getting Jimmy G. And I don't think they're getting Deshawn. The Colts, I guess now, because I'm not. I thought the Colts would get Trubisky.

What the Colts want, like you can just figure out the Colts. They feel burned by Wentz. He met, right, right? The playoffs were right there and he burned it. So what the Colts want is maybe a little less talent, but can you make the labs? Can you do the simple stuff? We think the roster is good enough in our wonky division. Can you hit the labs?

Wentz missed Labs. Now, he could dunk. He could give you the old occasional dunk, but he missed too many laps. So the Colts are pretty predictable here. Can he hit the laps? Jimmy G. Can mostly hit the labs. So that would be my, I thought Trebiski, because Trubisky, that is absolutely

Trubisky. He's athletic. He can make the 18 yards and in stuff. He's not pushing the ball down the field. Pittsburgh's going to be very predictable. Trubisky is interesting with Pittsburgh because it, he got to the playoffs with the same formula in Chicago. The difference is these wide receivers that Pittsburgh has and this tight end.

end are better than what Chicago had. I mean, they're Deontay Johnson and Chase Claypool and that rookie tight end. There's also Jacoby Brissette, Andy Dalton, Marcus Marriota. Oh, boy. Can we get over the Marioita stuff? Come on. Let's move on. He can't stay healthy. I mean, it's bleak out here.

I don't think Marcus Marietta is a starter, but. I don't either. What do you do if you were Carolina and you don't get to Sean Watson? Well, you stay with Sam Darnal and draft one. Or you just stay with Sam Darno. I don't know that Matt Rule is in a position to do that. Well, he may not have a choice. That's why I think Matt Rule, I called somebody yesterday that appears on our show

semi-regularly and asked him a question about something. And he told me, Carolina's been working on Deshawn Watson for close to a year. And I mean, investigators on the ground. Like Carolina has been the most aggressive team on Deshawn Watson. And a lot of that is Matt Rule. He gets it. That's why he overspent for Darnold. Like you can't win in this league without a quarterback.

Correct. So, all right. Joy Taylor with the news. No, no, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. So much fun. Well, NFL media reports that Deshawn Watson wants to meet with interested

teams before making a decision as to which team he will waive his no trade clause for. Okay. According to the report, trade offers have been made by the Saints and the Panthers. Yes. He has a deposition for his civil suit tomorrow, so he probably can't meet with teams until Wednesday. According to USA Today, the Panthers, Browns, and Seahawks have also expressed strong interest in Watson. And the Saints just restructured March on Latimore's contract to free up space, cap space, 18.45 million in cap space for 2022. And as you just mentioned, the Panthers are going to be aggressive for Watson. He didn't want to go to the Panthers last season. But the situation with, the, the situation with,

to Sean Watson as far as no trade clause goes is there are teams who are he may want to go to who are not interested in him. So there is not, it's not a market where he would be available to everyone in the league before all these legal things happens. Before this happens, the trades would be out of control. But there's certain teams that don't want him who are in the quarterback market, for example, Pittsburgh, just signing Mitchell Chubisky, or Washington getting Carson Wentz. So there are teams that are not going to be able to make those deals or are not interested in getting to Sean Watson. So there's levels to this trade markets that are not just, you know, a blank slate. So that's why he's having these meetings because he has the power to veto these trades.

That's right. I don't think he wants to play in Cleveland. I do. I think if you're asking him and he could take the Saints with a defensive coach who's already failed as a head coach once, or Matt Rule, I think Deshaun Watson in his heart looks at all that stuff, and you're asking him, Seattle, defensive coach, Cleveland history of dysfunction, Saints, a coach that's already failed, defensive coach, or Matt Rule, if I was Deshaun Watson, I would choose Carolina. Yeah, I think Carolina is the place that makes sense. Also, it's great business for Deshawn because he's a legend in that geographical footprint. He is a legend. He beat Alabama. Correct. Like, he's a legend. If I'm Deshawn Watson, Carolina is the fit for me. Yeah, I think it makes the most sense.

Also, and their owner is very aggressive. Super aggressive. So if Matt Rule doesn't end up working out this year, he's going to make moves next year to set up. Like, wherever Deshawn Watson goes, that's where he's going to be for the future. Like, this is the next 10 years. This is why this trade has been talked about as much as it has been. Here's what will be interesting. So Darnold, let's say I'm Dishon Watson and I choose Carolina.

You don't want to pay Dishon and Darnold. Darnold becomes an interesting backup because you're not paying Trey Lance anything. And Darnold moves around, not as great thrower. Trey Lance is Darnold. Could Darnold play behind Trey Lance? Because we always talk about this. Your backup should be a less talented version of your starter. Right.

That's why Colt McCoy and Kyler, it kind of works. Case Keenham behind Baker. It kind of works. Darnold's interesting. If you bring in Dishon, you want to get that Sam contract off your book. looks, A, he may end up being a starter somewhere, but he would be an interesting fit somewhere. If you've got an athletic quarterback, Sam's your backup, especially if it's an athletic quarterback on a rookie deal. You're not paying him anything. Yeah, so I imagine we'll

get news on Deshawn Watson by the end of the week, early next week, as all these moves are to play out. So Pittsburgh has reached an agreement on a two-year deal with Mitchell Trubisky, NFL Network's Mike Garofalo reported. Pittsburgh fans are freaking out. Are they? Why are they freaking out? I don't know. I mean, because there's standards for Super Bowls every single year in Pittsburgh. Okay, but what's on the market?

Deshawn Watson's not going there. I understand. There's a reason that has to be applied to this, but you're not going to talk that into fans. Full disclosure, I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. It's been 18 years of my life there. So I will say this. I like it. He's not the future of your organization.

Let me ask you this, because I think you're, You and I agree on this. Can you make the playoffs with Mitch Trubisky? Yes. Yes. I've seen this done. And you can say what you want about Cleveland's roster. And I don't care about Baker Mayfield.

He's an average quarterback. Unimpressive. Joe Burl just played in a Super Bowl. But losers in the Super Bowl, they just lost a defensive lineman an hour ago that Bengals did to the Bears. It's not the same season to season. I love Joe Burrow. But there are a lot of things that can happen throughout the season.

Nobody expected the Ravens not to be in the playoffs this year. What happened? They got completely rabbiards. by injuries. I'm not saying it's going to happen again. I don't think it will. But you can't just say, oh, well, this team's here and this team's here and this quarterback. Like, yes, but it's a long season. There's a lot that can happen. Mitch Trubiskey made the playoffs twice on a less talented team than what the Steelers roster has. Very similar roster with better receivers. Here's what I'm seeing on the internet. And this is why the internet is insane. He's no different

than Mason Rudolph and Wayne Haskins. Oh, God. Give me a way more athletic than Mason. Google is free. It's an amazing search engine that, does have some facts out there. Here's some of them. Not the same. Dwayne Haskins is 3 and 10 as a starter with Washington. Didn't start for Pittsburgh. Mason Rudolph, 5, 4 and 1 as a starter.

Mitchell Trubisky is 29 and 21 as a four-year starter. Okay. Made the playoffs twice and played in a Pro Bowl. With two coaches that got fired, Mike Tomlin is better than historically Matt Nagy or John Fox. So the two coaches, Trubisky had that he got to the playoffs, right? Twice. they both got fired.

And that roster wasn't as good as the Steelers roster. People, these search engines work. No one is saying he's the future of the Steelers. That's right. But if you're out there saying they were fine with Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins, I don't want to have a conversation with you about this. You're insane. Mason Rudolph is a good backup.

He's a good backup. I don't know what Dwayne Haskins is. It doesn't matter. They're all going to go into camp and guess who's going to win the starting job of he's healthy. Tribisky. Easily. Easily. Easily.

No one is saying he's the future of the Steelers. But you can't go out there this. year in that division with Mason Rudolph and Duane Haskins as the options for your starters. Can't. If you didn't like anyone in the draft, which clearly they don't. Well, maybe they don't. If Malik Willis falls to them, maybe they take him

and develop him. But it's better than to do this than to reach. Also. Which you're going to have to move up to get one of those guys. Also, Tribusky was really well liked by players in Chicago and Buffalo. Dwayne Haskins, I mean, we've heard a lot of stuff. There's a maturity issue.

Yes. Okay. And Mason And Rudolph, you can't fool players. Those Steelers players, no. There's limitations. The ceiling's really low with Mason. You can't fool players. Trubisky's going to be new blood. He's athletic.

You'll defer it. And he played in Chicago, so it's not like playing in high and steel is going to be a problem. No, he's been in a big media city. He's taken criticism. Again, I don't have to love every move. I can like it briefly. I know. I feel like we've become the mental Chubisky defender.

I just think it's a reasonable move by the Steelers. The idea that you were just going to run it with Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins is insane. And don't reach for a quarterback in the draft if you don't love one. Next year's draft will be better. Way better. He's a two-year deal. He's cheap. He has experience.

And next year, stay afloat, stay competitive. And next year, trade up and get somebody if you like them. Yeah. He's a bridge guy. He's not the future. I'm sorry, Steelers fans, freaking out. You got to calm down a little bit. Katie had an unbelievable game against the Knicks yesterday.

Oh, yeah, he did. When he is rolling, I don't know that there's a more fun player to watch. He's the more than any, there's two players in the league that when they're hot, it's almost playground basketball. Yeah, it's laughable. They're double teaming him. KD. and Steph, when they get hot, you feel like you're at Rucker Park. They're talking to the fans.

They're doing the shimmy. Like when KD gets into this, chat, chat, chat, chat. It's so great. Well, he finished with 53 points, a 19-to-37 shooting, six rebounds and 9. nine assists. It was the most points scored by Annette's player against the Nixon franchise history. The big conversation from the game yesterday was

that Kyrie was in the crowd sitting courtside with no mask on. He is unable to play in games in New York City but he can be a spectator in the arena. There he is. And sit next to a bunch of fans without masks but he can't play. I mean look, two things can be true.

The rule looks laughable when you see Kyrie sitting courtside and he's there in the building. unmasked. The New York City mayor has no obligation to Kyrie Irving or to the Brooklyn that's to make an exception for him and not the thousands of people that he has the rule in place for. And it's Kyrie's fault. Yeah, get vaccinated. Get vaccinated. It's a very simple solve. He's not even anti-vaxies, just anti-mandates. Yeah. This was always going to end up being the situation and this is why it looks so ridiculous. But everyone's outraged. There's a very simple solution.

Go get vaccinated. New York City is not going to make an exception for Kyrie Irving. Yeah. They can't. I agree. It looks ridiculous, and it doesn't make any sense. I'm with you there. It doesn't make any sense. But the solve is right at Kyrie's feet. Walk into a Walgreens.

It's readily available. It's getting out of control. But Brooke Lopez and out since October back injury, set to return against the bucks. Return to the bucks line up tonight against the jazz. That's good news for them. So we've been talked about that. So Milwaukee gets Brooke Lopez back. He gives them length and size rebounding.

Because they're deep. is starting to get healthy again. Yeah, Milwaukee just has not been the same team defensively, so here we go. Did you watch Phoenix at all yesterday? Oh, my. I watched, oh, my, that first half. Folks, I'm telling you right now, Phoenix, the suns are winning the championship. When they're on, they are so fast.

They are so hard to defend. It does feel like they're here. I mean, when you watch Phoenix play and the Lakers are old, the difference in like twitchiness and quickness between Phoenix and the Lakers, I mean, they just get any, they just get great shots. They just get, they're open, they get great shots, they move the ball, they're well coach. Phoenix is so much fun to watch.

Tom Brady's dad said his son felt, quote, pressured by outside forces to retire in February. I have no idea what's. that means, is that Giselle, who's been talking about Tom's retirement for like five years? The quote was, he, Tom, felt pressured by outside forces. I think people kind of put him into a corner, all these rumors and things before he was ready to make a decision. And he had to say something

just to get the news, people off his back. Tom always gets mad when his dad talks. So that doesn't mean that's factual. That's just Tom's dad talking. Tom Brady's been under scrutiny. I mean, Not saying as his father. I'm just saying Tom Brady's been under pressure and scrutiny for quite a long time. So some people were guessing that was a Giselle thing. And my takeaway is that's just Tom's dad talking. And our parents say stuff. And then we have to call our parents and say, get off the news channel and get off social.

Yeah, Tom usually says it. It doesn't like his dad talking. I mean, I could see if outside forces his wife, then that makes sense. But the news people, like she's not really an outside source. Yeah, that's very much an inside source. She's in the house. force, I guess, from football. Yes, but...

Can I throw this out there? Football's a lot more safe than people want you to believe. How many teams made the playoffs? 14. And all 14 teams had their starting quarterback. And Tom Brady was the least hit, least sacked quarterback in the league last year. End of the year, all the quarterbacks were healthy. Kyler Murray was banged up but played.

So the practices, less hitting. The game's less hitting. Especially for veteran players. There's a new culture in the NFL. Veteran guys don't, they're not getting hit in practice. The equipment's better and getting better. Now, if you're an interior defensive lineman or offensive lineman, by all accounts, the game is still really hard.

It's no fun blocking Aaron Donald. I've never done it. I know it. I can watch the tape. If you're an interior defensive lineman, Ali Marpet just retired. Get out. It's bad on your hands. It's bad on your shoulders.

It's bad. It's hard. But the game, we went through this thing for a few years. You know, it was around the CTE lawsuit time where a lot of the media are like, oh, it's not. The game is actually much safer today than it's ever been, especially for like quarterbacks. You just can't hit them anymore. I mean, the NBA this year, of its top 15 players eight were out near the trade. deadline. Now, those are different injuries, but the NFL is much safer than people think. And it's got,

it's been, this has been something they've been managing for years and years and years and years. The other thing is, last week I gave a Super Bowl bubble and the Super Bowl bubble always changes based on your draft, your free agency. So I had a bubble last week. I've made a couple of alterations after this weekend. So here is my new Super Bowl bubble. In pure March madness, fashion. Green Bay is a classic bubble team. I have in the AFC, Denver, Kansas City, and Buffalo should be favored win the Super Bowl. In the NFC, Tom's back, Buccaneers and the Rams, but Tom's emergence, Tom's return to me makes it harder for Green Bay, a roster now that may not have Devante Adams based on what we're hearing. So Green Bay is a real bubble team. Then I think the

Chargers that were not on the periphery last week. Kaleel Mack, I had a GM call me and say, boy, that's a good move. He can defend the run. You can't double and chip Bosa on every snap. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't draft two more defensive linemen, an interior defensive tackle, and another edge guy to take some snaps away from Mac or Boso, so they're fresh at the end of the year. So my periphery teams that are close but are missing something,

Chargers, I still don't know how good their coach is. Dallas, Cincinnati, losing Super Bowl teams. They just lost a defensive tackle, by the way, too. Tennessee, and then Green Bay is kind of in the middle. So there we go. There we go. There's my Super Bowl bubble. And as Joy has said, Devante Adams is now saying publicly, I'm not franchising.

Yes. You can't franchise me, which is an issue. And I said this all weekend. The Steelers just got better this morning. Washington, say what you want about Carson went. Washington is better today. Correct. Whoever lands Deshawn Watson is better.

There is no question. The Chargers with Kalil Mack and Justin Herbert and other eight. The Chargers are better today. Tampa is better today. Seahawks are worse. All these teams, though, a lot of them, NFC teams. Washington, probably Carolina, Deshawn Watson, Tampa Bay, all getting better.

What did Green Bay do this offseason? Pay Aaron Rogers more. That's what they did. So Zadaria Smith out. Devante Adams. Don't franchise tag me. I will say this in defense of Aaron and Devonte Adams, in defense of them. I do think, maybe I'm overthinking this,

but I do think when you're a star player in Green Bay, Favre, Rogers, Devante Adams. they make a lot of noise. Like Aaron and Brett made a lot of noise. You don't have an owner. See, it's almost like growing up, you know, without a loud voice in the house, you know, right? You don't have an owner get on the phone and say, Brett, be quiet. Aaron, stop it.

I mean, that matters. Like, if your owner comes down, I mean, Carson Wentz is out of the cults because the owner wanted him out. It's not because Frank Wright wanted him out. It's not because Chris Ballard wanted him out. All right? Period. And so I, you know, I look at Green Bay. That no owner situation, sort of empowers star players, specifically quarterbacks.
