I feel like everybody's America's... I forgot to turn on my mic. I'm going to get yelled at for that. Okay, so Albert Brewer in a couple of minutes. I'm going to do something right now, J. Mack. So there's this feeling that Russell Wilson, there's a lot of speculation. Albert Brear in a couple of minutes talked about this, that the trade, the movement, something's happening.

in the works for Justin Fields and Russell Wilson. And so I said, you know, the disaster of Russell is not that bad. I never thought he was washed. I still think he's athletic and efficient and accurate. He's not in his prime. But I thought this was fun this morning. So two years into Russell Wilson and Denver, because everybody in Denver is now, got to get him out of here.

Two years in Denver, and that includes the Nat Hackett year. He has a 91 passer rating, 42 touchdowns, 19 picks, and he's completing about 63% of his passes. So let's play blind resume for those that think he's washed. Now remember, one of those years, the coach was a disaster, and then this year, he had to relearn a new offense. So let's do blind resume. For our radio audience, this quarterback has the same number of picks, fewer passing touchdowns, and a lower passer rating over the last two years. is this guy washed who's that quarterback?

Baker Mayfield, comeback player of the year, who we have said multiple times should be re-signed by the Buccaneers. Let's go to the next quarterback who's got far fewer passing touchdown, same number of picks, same passer rating. Is this guy somebody you should get out of town immediately? It's Matt Stafford

with Sean McVeigh for the last two years as a head coach. Let's do it again. Ross is washed. Get him out of town. 42 touchdowns, 19 picks, 91 passer rating. The numbers are very similar. More touchdowns, more picks, though.

Trevor Lawrence. Hmm, interesting. Who, for the record, had a disaster first year as a head coach. Finally, here's somebody with, uh, that looks slightly better passing picks, passer rating. Slightly better. A tick better. Who is this quarterback? one so good Harbaugh left Michigan to go coach in the NFL

for a franchise with a dicey history. Justin Herbert, Baker Mayfield, Matt Stafford, Trevor Lawrence, and this includes the Nat Hackett year and having to learn and relearn two offenses in two years. So Sean Payton was at the Combine this morning in Indy and he was asked about the importance of the quarterback position in Russell Wilson. I saw this humorous meme the other day

where there's a Bronco fan with a shirt on and there was like eight quarterbacks names across through it and he's drinking the quarterback Kool-Aid

and our job is to make sure that this next one doesn't have a line through it and with that next one Albert Breer does now join us live from Indy at the NFL Combine I mean that's saying the next one

either he's got to rehab Russell a little or draft somebody with their pick. What did you make of that comment? And what are you hearing about that situation? I mean, I think it's a little bit of a hint that they're moving on and that they're going to have a new quarterback in 2024. And, you know, my sense, Colin, is they're going to do all of the work on all of the quarterbacks. They could explore trading up. Don't think they're going to get up to get Caleb Williams, but Drake May, J.D. Daniels. And then, you know, there's that second tier with J.J. McCarthy, Bowen.

Nick's Michael Pennix. They wind up really loving one of those guys. I think they're going to do all the work. Doesn't mean they're going to take one. I think they're going to do all the work on those guys. And I think part of it for Sean Payton now, you know, it sucks for Russell, but I do think that there's a point when you have to move on. Yeah. And you know, I they're paying him the $37 million for this year one way or the other. He's going to have to agree to waive his guarantees for 2025 if he were to stay. Is he willing to do that? I don't know. I mean, it sounds like he's amenable to staying in Denver, but what are the terms of that? I just think because of the way the last two years went, it's really, really complicated. And I think it's really hard to uncomplicate a situation like that. Sometimes you get to these points where everybody just needs to hit the reset button and get a fresh start. I think Russell would be best off going somewhere else and getting a fresh start. And I think Sean Peyton, with a chance to enact his own quarterback plan, not the one he inherited. He has that chance to do that right now. I think he winds up taking that chance to do it. So Peter King and I disagree on this.

He thinks you keep Justin Fields, you mute down and get a bunch of picks. And my argument on that is if you get the quarterback right, picks don't become nearly as important. Lamar Jackson, Josh Allen, finally got a receiver and a running back respectively. They win every year. Mahomes is hoisting trophies with a bad receiver group. I don't need a million picks. I need a quarterback that can play.

There's a reason Harbaugh took the Chargers job. One reason. Justin Herbert. You've got to get the quarterback. quarterback right i would take caleb williams but peter is suggesting and he obviously you love him you know him that hey yep at the bottom of his column he said i don't know anything but the winds are blowing they're going to move down what can you illuminate me on this because i can't believe they'd move off the pick yeah i i love peter i still think the like the the likelihood is that they stick at one and they

pick caleb williams unless caleb williams goes on some sort of wildcat strike because he doesn't want to play in chicago and like listening to ryan polls today and reading some of the tea leaves, I don't know that Caleb Williams is going to go through it doing something like that. So, you know, I think you have to look at this, you know, from every perspective. Number one, Justin Fields is a really good player.

The people in the bear staff believe you can win with Justin Fields. But Caleb Williams could be a generational talent. There's the financial piece of this, right? Like where, you know, a year from now, if you want to keep Justin Fields, it's going to cost a minimum of $25 million, and you've got to make that decision after the draft on whether or not you're picking up that option.

And if he has a great year in his fourth year, then it's going to be even more expensive than that. Whereas with Caleb Williams, you have four years of cost control. And you know what he's going to cost from now through 2027. And then you have the option for 28. And then I think there's the real life application of this, too, Colin. Ryan Poles and Matt Iberfluse didn't draft Justin Fields. And just from a job security perspective, this is a chance for them to start anew. Let me just lay out this scenario for you, if you're those two guys, right?

Say you go seven and ten with Justin Fields next year. What do you think happens? Oh, you're, you get, you get fired. Right, yeah, yeah, yeah. Right. Now, let's say you go seven and ten with Caleb Williams, and Caleb Williams is a rocket ship at the end of the year. What happens?

You get extended. You're called brilliant. Yeah, so, I mean, I just think that there are so many of these factors at play here. It just, it makes the most sense. They love Justin Fields. And I believe Ryan Poles has been great as far as managing the relationship. between team and quarterback. And I don't think this is a huge indictment on Justin Fields.

It's just the opportunity that's in front of them right now to get a generational talent and get a guy who, Cliff Kingsbury himself, who coached both of them, said to me, it's eerie how similar he is to Mahomes, right? You have to take that shot. You have to pick up the bat and take that swing with the number one overall pick, in my opinion. All right, I've been watching Dynasty.

Belichick's reportedly looking for a TV gig. He's not happy with how he's being portrayed. My takeaway yesterday is Randy Moss is hysteria. Brutie Bhrushy's great, Bledsoe's great, Brady's Raw. All these Patriots are fantastic. Bill comes off as defensive, rigid, and grumpy. That's a bill issue. Your takeaway, now a lot of people say, hey, it's basically a craft documentary. Is that fair that Bill's like, I'm not giving you anything, I'll talk, but the crafts are

running the documentary. Is that fair? Right. And I think that's exactly what it is. And I actually, like, you know, it's funny because, like, there's always that question, like, how they get everybody to talk? I think the magic of a project like this where they were able to get so many people is they almost, I think they got so many people to talk because everybody was afraid of what

the next guy is going to say, right? And because Kraft was behind it to some degree, that fear got amplified, you know? Everybody in that organization knows, there's been a couple books that have been written on the Patriot Dynasty. The dynasty by Jeff Benedict was considered Kraft's version of events. In fact, if you go back, like, the Patriots actually sent copies of that book out to their season ticket holders. What does that tell you about what ownership thinks of that version of the story? That's what the Apple TV thing is based on. And so I think, you know, it's interesting because you watch some of it, and it seems that there's a fair bit of score settling going on here and a fair bit of territory marking going on here. And I, my perception

watching Bill here is, I think Bill views this as a craft production. So he's going to sit for it Because he wants to hear everything that's in there. And by sitting for it, he's going to get a pretty clear picture of what's going in there. But maybe he's not all that motivated to help, which to me is part of why, and I think they've done a great job with the first four episodes. The first two, I think were better than the last two. But I think that that's sort of why, like, the last dance, like that 20-year kind of ability to sit there and let things marinate and come back. I think that's why, like, the last dance works a while. And honestly, I think that's why Bloodso is so great in it.

You know, like, Bloodso's so great in it because he's 20 years separated from this. Yeah. Some of those other guys aren't. Yeah. The, you know, as an Ohio state guy, I laid out my concern with J.J. McCarthy. If you go to the last seven or eight guys that are a little short or a little light, not good. Kyler Marie's had success, but he's been banged up. It's a big man's league, even at quarterback.

It is a big man's league. Yep. I mean, even Lamar Jackson came in. He was spindly. Three years later, he's jacked. Like Jalen Hertz came in a little small. Two years later, he is jacked. Russell Wilson's put on more weight. This is a really physical league. McCarthy's thin. Five of the last seven games he didn't throw for a touchdown. Three games, he had half his touchdown passes in against garbage teams. I'm not a buyer of it. I think he's thin. I think he was carried by a defense in a run game and a coach. I think he's a draftable player. I think he's a second round guy that you sit. for several years. I'm here in lottery. So as a Buckeye, how did you view it? I'm fascinated by him. Yes. I mean, I'm fascinated by him because he's clearly a winner, right? He's clearly a winner. He's

competitive as hell. You like his approach. You like kind of the moxie that he has. And there is talent there. Like he can run. He's got a loose arm. He's a loose athlete. He has a lot of things that you like. But I'm with you on you'd like to see him carry the team more. And that's a problem for NFL teams because if you go back and you look at the history of it right like the some of the best quarterbacks in the NFL now Josh Allen carried Wyoming Patrick Mahomes carried Texas Tech Lamar Jackson carried Louisville and then you take the one guy who didn't have to carry his team right which Joe Burrow of the young guys and he had all his help around him and he broke every record that was out there not just for LSU but for the

SEC right so I think that's sort of what you're looking at with JJ it's like he yes like he wasn't asked to do this and he he's he's he's he He's done a lot of good things with what he was asked to do, but why wasn't he asked to do more? That's something in teams are going to have to dig through. And the other part of it, too, which is very clear. His frame is going to be under a lot of scrutiny here in Indianapolis? Is he 6-1? Is he 6-2? Is he 6-3?

I had a guy who went into Ann Arbor in the fall say that he was taken aback when he stood up next to McCarthy at how narrow he was and how thin he was. Yes. He actually said to me, he looks like a stretched out Bryce Young. if you want to talk about a comp. Build wise, now he's taller, but he looked like a stretched-out Bryce Young, and we saw how obviously that played out in year one in Carolina.

I get the questions. I also know there's a lot to like about him as a player. So he's going to be fascinating to dig through. I think Sean Peyton is going to be, I mean, I look at McCarthy and I look at Nick. I'm fascinated to see what the Broncos think of him because I think they both have some traits that Sean Payton would like. Is he willing to go all in on them?

It's going to be an interesting question. You know the comp I always use on that? So years ago, I've stood next to Aaron Rogers one time. Aaron's my height, six one and a half. Yeah. Aaron is 29 pounds heavier than me. And you would not know it if we stood together.

So I asked somebody about that, and you're like, you should see Aaron's ankles and his wrists and his shoulders. Yeah. He said, Aaron with his shirt off is, he's six, one and a half, two, 224. And I stood next to Aaron. I'm the same size. So Aaron packs 28 pounds more than me. and we look the same. We're both, he's kind of slender,

and I always say, that's an NFL player. Aaron carries his weight like a pro athlete, calf's, wrist, shoulders, butt. That's why I'm a talk show host, right? I have a great example for you. Like, I was standing on the sidelines before the NFC title game with John Lynch two years ago, right? This is a game Purdy got hurt on,

heard in, and we were talking about Purdy as a prospect and kind of what they saw in him coming out and all of that. And, you know, you sort of get the same. impression looking at Brock because he's a little baby face that he's small right right and he's not overly tall but Lynch like when I started in on that Lynch immediately said look at his legs and I'm like oh my god he looks like a running back and I never noticed it before but those are the sorts of things that they look at you know what I mean like seriously anybody watching out there Colin you can go and look too like pull up a picture of Brock Purdy and look at his legs he's

actually a really big dude you just don't look at him that way yeah there you go that's the kind of thing Breer and I look at these are the kind of scoops we give you folks the trunciness the legs we're all checking out people's legs Albert brayer at the NFL combine in a hotel somewhere in Indianapolis is always buddy appreciate you stopping by all right thanks Colin no I've told you J Mac I'm gonna I'm gonna put my stand I like Bo Nix more than J. J.J. McCarthy and I watched Bo Nicks play live and I was taken back by how athletic you I saw him twice, Bo Nix twice in person and I thought he's way more

athletic than you think, and he is yoked. I'm glad you guys brought up Josh Allen. He said Josh Allen carried Wyoming. You took some jabs at some of the numbers from J.J. McCarthy. So I took a gander at Josh Allen's senior year at

Wyoming. Did he have a Harbaugh as a coach? He threw in the final game 154 yards before that 70 yards. He had 138 yards passing, 234 against Oregon in a beat down. He had 64 yards passing. Listen, I'm not going after Josh. Did he have 21 NFL players on the roster?

Like JJ McCarthy? Totally agree. It's not Apple's Apple. He had zero. But I do. Zero. I do agree. Zero to 21. Okay. Their frames are different, but I don't like the JJ McCarthy. You think Josh Allen and J.J. McCarthy are even in the same galaxy. I just didn't like using passing yards as like a barometer. What he's not, it's throwing for 150 yards. Like, I don't like that. If you're a lot of, first of all, Josh Allen was so such a good prospect.

that Pete Carolyn John Snyder, off a Super Bowl win, went to check him out. Went to his, went to his Combined Day. That's how good he was. By the way, Russell heard about it. His agent heard about it, Mark Rogers, and they were ticked off. Like, people that had star quarterbacks went to the Josh Allen. And by the way, Wyoming was terrible with no pros. Michigan was literally.

I don't know that they were terrible. I mean, it looks like it won like seven or eight games, but. They got destroyed by the two programs. I watched them play Oregon and I think Iowa. They got destroyed. Yeah, they lost to Iowa by a lot. Yeah, they couldn't stop Iowa. And Iowa's offense could be stopped by a traffic cone.

And Josh Allen threw 57% completions, two interceptions, 174 yards. Non-factor. All my point is, I don't like using passing yards as like some kind of barometer. How about throw a touchdown pass in more than two of your last seven games? What a standard I've said. He's beholden to what the coach wants to do. We're going to win with defense and running the football. That's what Michigan wanted to do.

That's what Harbaugh's game plan was. You know what? It worked. They won the Natty. Can't really knock it, can you? Well, Teebo won a natty. What does that mean? Well, wait a minute.

Tebowl was never projected as a top 10 pick the way Daniel Jeremiah and these guys. He went first round. He did. It was a terrible draft pick. Everybody got on Josh McDaniel's case, remember? I'm saying if you draft J.J. McCarthy in the lottery, it's going to be a regrettable draft pick. you sure?

I mean, there's a lot of people. I know, and I'm just saying. People we trust. Lance Zerline, your guy, right? NFL Network. Well, we may have to reconsider Lance being a regular on the show. Oh, wow, okay. No, listen, I'm sure I could be wrong. I mean, I've been wrong all the time, but I've been right a lot.

By the way, you know, everybody loves the Sam Darnold thing. What's the Sam Darnold? Yeah, because I liked Sam Darno. Who didn't? Now, everybody liked Sam Darnold. Everybody was a huge. Universal top five pick. But everybody.

Mansell? I was like, no. Baker, like him, not a number one pick. You know, Jamarcus Russell, run for your life. There's a lot of these guys. Jack Wilson, Daniel Jones. I was like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Tebow.

I was like, no, no, no, no. So I, Darnold is still, I just saw something yesterday. Former NFL GM, Randy Mueller, had a list of the best free agents. He had Darnel as the third best available quarterback. Listen, I know Randy. It's not crazy. Come on.

That's how Darnold's viewed in the league. People like him. Coachable, tough, physical. I got to see the list, but you're telling me, Sam Darns was one. And I think Baker was two, and Darnold was three. I think that was the list. Okay, so, well, Fields is not a free agent, and neither is Russell Wilson. But they would certainly be ahead of Sam Darnel.

Russell Wilson, to me, is the best available quarterback. I think Baker, for the money, is the best available. So what has Sam Darnel done for you to love him so much? Listen, I have moved off him, but I, I, I knew him, I liked him, I thought his town. You know who likes him? Shanahan and John Lynch. A lot.

I don't usually work on Tuesdays, but I'm here on her, too. I really appreciate that. Let's start with Justin Jefferson, who I kind of teased this to you yesterday. This is going to be a story. There are reports out of Minnesota saying that they could look to move receiver after the NFL's salary cap increase. Teams got an additional 31 million cap space and Justin Jefferson. He wants big bucks. There's a belief he will earn more than 150 over five years.

Colin, that's an extraordinary number for a receiver. But the market talks. He's at the top of the market. He's one of the best players out there. Vikings should move on maybe. Well, ask yourself, you're the Patriots. If you don't like Mack Jones, fine. You could draft a quarterback with the third.

pick and get Justin Jefferson and start your new franchise. I think you got to give up the third pick. I'll give you next year's number one and this year's number two. I have to pay them. Don't I get something for that? I don't think that's going to cut it. All right. I'm not giving you a number one this year.

I'll give you number one next year. I'll give you number two this year. Minnesota needs a quarterback. So I think they would gladly take the three from the Patriots and other stuff. Remember, I have to pay them. So I'm not giving you the house. I have to pay them. You've got to give me something back.

I'm giving you a freedom from not paying a receiver 25 large a year. You go get Sam Howell or go get Justin Fields or make a move on Gino Snith. You laugh as you say that. I know, I know. I would look at the teams that had a rookie quarterback this year. Anthony Richardson, C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young. Now, the Panthers don't have that one to trade, but maybe they move off a Burns or some other player.

So I'm going to throw something out and you may push back. I don't think you need a number one receiver to win a Super Bowl. Because what I worry about with a number one receiver is that they can be very demanding to a young quarterback. So I'd make the argument that if you, now, Cooper Cup won a Super Bowl and was a won, but he's not terribly, he's high-volume guy, but he's not like a demanding wide receiver, a lot of underneath stuff and breaking tackles. that I'm not a belief,

I'm not a huge fan of emptying the bank for a receiver for two reasons. Number one, they can be, once you get the money, they can be very demanding the young quarterbacks. You have to have like a real veteran quarterback who can handle it, a DAC, you know, Kirk Cousins that can handle it. Second thing is, college football

gives you 20 wide receivers a year. I can get Tank Dell in round four and Pooka in round five. There's so much talent at White. There's no, there's no position in football in college football that is more chalk, full annually than wide receiver.

I like Justin, but I had no, I would have no, they got Jordan Addison and the great tight end. I would have no problem moving him for a first and a second and just go drafting another receiver that I don't have to pay for four years. How much do you think two of the last three years, teams in the Super Bowl? Joe Burrow had a stud young receiver in Jamar Chase. Lost. They got to the Super Bowl, please.

Okay, and then Jaylen Hertz last year, they get him, AJ Brown. Lost. Don't do this. Come on. Josh Allen, add Stefan Diggs, huge. I know they haven't got to the Super Bowl. Yeah.

But you, that's what you do. You help the young quarterback. I, I am not anti-receiver. I'm saying emptying the bank. But the bank is full when you're not paying your quarterback. I think.

Bryce Young, Young quarterback has no talent anywhere. You're taking an extreme. They have no receiver. Okay. Go get Justin Jefferson. So if I'm Minnesota and I have Jordan Addison, Osborne, a tight end I like, and then I go draft in the second round or the first, a wide receiver, I'm okay with that. They've already got nice pieces there.

That's an offensive division. They'll need to score. They've got an offensive coach. But if I have a good tight end, a top 15 tight end I do. If I have a, I think Jordan Addison is a one. Sure. It's already damn good. Come on. I think Osborne's a three.

Go get a two in the draft in the second round. Who's throwing a ball to them, by the way? We'll see. Maybe that's your first round pick. But I'll say, I looked yesterday at a mock draft, eight receivers taken in the second round. There's a lot of good receivers. You'll have at least 12 receivers taken in the first two to two and a half round.

Oh, by the way, three of them are going to be busts. What happened with the Chargers' first round receiver? Like, they're not all going to be slammed up yet. Let's give them a second year. You were just so. Sometimes. I know it's hard. I am very nice. Let's get Quentin Johnson another year. Chargers fans are ready to run him out of town.

You can't catch a cold. You know what? Sometimes glass half full guy's right. Yeah, glass half full call in on a Tuesday. Next up, the Chicago Bears. We can't stop talking about them. They are rumored to be moving off fields to draft Caleb Williams with the number one pick. Wide receiver, DJ Moore, has made it clear he believes Chicago should stick with his guy, Justin Fields. With his latest pitch being, he doesn't believe any of the QB prospects compared to his current quarterback.

Oh, boy. Instead preferring the draft, wait for it, Marvin Harrison, Jr. We spent a lot of bandwidth. That sounds like something Chicago would do. We spent a lot of bandwidth talking about Justin Fields. Colin, I'm going to be blunt. We like Fields. Is there any evidence he's a good NFL quarterback?

No, none. Last three years go to his second halfs in his entire career. His second halfs, no longer on the script, off the script. He's Zach Wilson. That's what the numbers tell you. And Zach Wilson has to go against McDermott twice a year and Belichick twice a year in his division, elite defensive coaches. Fields in a weaker conference gets all offensive coaches.

Dan Campbell, Jordan, Matt Lafleur, Kevin O'Connell. So there's not an elite defense in Justin Fields' division or an elite defensive head coach. Not one. They're all offensive cultures now. Lions defense has stunk. The Packers, surprisingly, is all. always underachieving, and Minnesota has been a great defense in years.

Zach Wilson has to go against Belichick, who destroys historically young quarterbacks and Sean McDermott. And their numbers are the same after halftime last three years. I'm sorry, but that's what the number said. I would say it's much harder to be Zach Wilson. If you have to face Belichick twice a year, also... By the bet the bill's defense has been good the last five years ago. And McDermott's an excellent defensive coach.

So I'm just saying you can say all you want about this stuff, but this has been my Com for the last several years. When I see Justin, I see a more talented Zach Wilson. And the numbers will bear it out. I know he makes millions of dollars and he should be okay with the critics. I just feel a little bad for Fields. Colin, CJ Stroud came into the league

and has already had five, six, seven games better than Fields has done that. That's because he's a better quarterback. And it's not even close. No, no, no, no. I mean... And that's the tough part. I feel a little bad for Fields. Like the spot wasn't great in Chicago. But we saw the spot look terrible for Stroud. They were projected to win, what? Five

game, six games? I mean, the Bears were a better franchise than Houston. It have been the last several years. And C.J. Stroud walked in week one missing four of his top five offensive linemen. And by the second half of game one, you're like, the hell, what am I watching? By the second week, you were like, we got ourselves a story. By week three and four, C.J. Stroud was a talk of the league. It can't take this long. And I don't, I think, I think Justin could play some more. I'd love to see him in Atlanta with those young kids. I think Atlanta makes sense. Yeah, I think it would be five would like to watch that, and I think he would vibe for

a division title. But you've got to remember, he's been in a division. We have to put some context on this for the Chicago media. You're in a division with Green Bay, Detroit, and Minnesota, all offensive cultures, all offensive cultures. You've got to do some eating. I've got to see like touchdown,

three, four touchdown games occasionally. As much as we like the Packers, did they or did they not the last two years underachieve on defense? Detroit last two years. They fired their defensive coordinator. Yeah, he's bad. Detroit last two years. No defense. It's weird. We don't talk about Matt Jones at all. We don't talk about Zach Wilson

at all. Because Justin has more natural gifts. There is something there. Wait a minute. Matt Jones rookie year, you were going gaga for that dude. But he's not a gifted physical athlete. That's production. Justin Fields, the eyes don't

lie. There is talent there. Where? Not in the arm. No, he moves. He's got a very good arm. He's just not accurate. He's just not accurate. Very good. No, but he's a big kid who moves with a big... Now, the other thing is he misses a lot of starts. He's missed nine starts in three years. That's too many starts.

Eli can go 15 years and not miss any. Let's wrap up with the NBA. I know you watch the NBA during the week. I don't know if you saw this Nick Pistons game last night. Just absolute bonkers in the final seconds. Ansar Thompson looked like he had a steal to win the game. And then he was essentially tackled by Devenzo. No foul called.

the Knicks end up getting the ball scoring. I mean, a crazy ending for my next. It was a bad call. Monty Williams went off after the game and understandable so. The absolute worst call of the season. No call. And enough's enough. We've done it the right way.

We've called the league. We've sent in clips. We're sick of hearing the same stuff over and over again. We had a chance to win the game. And the guy dove into Assar's legs. And there was a no call. that that's an abomination you cannot miss that in an NBA game period we just want a fair game called and I got nothing else to say we want a fair game and that was not fair I'm done

well it was a bad call doesn't mean the game was poorly efficient you're watching on the screen it's it's just move Devencenzo passes it's a horrible pass and then look he just body checks the guy well he's going for the ball if I was You know I coach you sports. If that had happened in front of me, I would have lost. I still have no technicals in my career. But that is abysmal. Well, he was going for the ball.

Yeah, going for the ball. Let's watch it again. Let's watch it again. Jalen Ramsey could learn how to tackle and watch this highlight. I think he's going for the ball. Either way. Go either way playing. Well, Monty Williams has ticked off.

The Pistons are 8 and 49. They're threatening the worst record in league history. They do not want that on this season. They don't have enough shooters. They don't have enough of anything. They're not good. They've lost six in a row, and Monty Williams got a massive contract.

He's one of the highest pay coaches in the league, and they have eight freaking wins gone. Well, you've got to have players to win. Got to have players to win. You're not really going there, right? You can blame Monty for everything, but you find me all their elite players. A lot of high drafters.

Cade Cunningham, Ivy. He didn't play Ivy for a half. I mean, listen, I'm not going on with business. Nobody cares. Sorry, I know nobody cares about Detroit, right? Well, I mean, I think they care about the moment. I just feel bad for Monty Wood. I think that play, you know, a little tackling.

I look at that play, and I think to myself, hey, hey, get away from the Bengals' death chart. Ryan, is that, I don't see that as an egregious call. I think it's a go either way. I thought Vin Genzel's going after the ball. It's a go either way, play. It doesn't bother me. it's probably not a great call. I don't think it's a great call.

I'm not going to put it on the highlight reel for refs. It looks like a very physical, urgent play, going for the ball. You get that at home. You don't get that call on the road. That's how I view that. It's got to be something. It's got to be a whistle in some way shape of them. That's not just like a play on.

Yeah, there's probably got to be a whistle somewhere. But that's not why they lost. That's not why they're bad. Correct. Also correct. Everybody always goes to the end of the game and goes, that's why we lost. and I'm like, by the way, look this up real quick. How many free throws?

Free throws did the pistons miss. Everybody wants the refs to be perfect. What did the pistons shoot from the floor? How many turnovers did they have? These are good questions. What did they shoot free throws? I mean, I hear this all the time. You want the refs to be perfect,

but how many free throws, wide open pro basketball player, you have a free throw. How many did Detroit miss? All right, I'll call it up here. Detroit missed five free three. Throw. 80%. Make all five of those, you would have won the game.

They played well. How many turnovers that have? The Knicks wanted the ball more. Well, the Knicks are better. You look at that eye like. They're all over there. Oh, time out. Time out.

17 turnovers. If you had 11, you win the game. If you hit three of those free throws, you win the game. So you want a perfectly officiated game, but you miss five free throws. You have 17 turnovers. What did you shoot from the field, by the way? What did Detroit shoot from the field? No, they shot 48 percent, Colin.

That's not bad for them. It's not bad for them. 14 threes. They got to get that win, man. They got to get that done for them. They don't have a lot of shooters. Correct. Don't think the game's going to be perfectly officiated when you have 17

And the general rule is don't add lib. come up, be friendly, be cordial, say what you've got to say, move on. Don't get cute, don't get glib, don't get clever. It's interesting. Sean Payton at the Combine was talking about quarterback,

and did he kind of tell everybody he was asked about the draft and Russell Wilson? Did he tell everybody that are moving off Russ? I saw this, like, humorous meme the other day where there's a Bronco fan with a shirt on, and there was like eight quarterbacks names across through it, you know, and he's drinking the quarterback Kool-Aid. And, you know, our job is to make sure that this next one, you know, doesn't have a line through it. Now, is this next one improving Russ or going out and getting the next one?

Keep your eye on Boe Nix, in my opinion. Albert Breer was on earlier, and we talked about that. But it did feel like he sort of told you. And, you know, yesterday on X, the quix, the quickly deteriorating X that gets worse by the week there was a lot of defense of Ross

and this isn't good for Ross but let me just throw this out there Andy reads the best coach and Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the league won't have to face them twice a year Justin Herbert's a top five quarterback and Harbaal will be very quickly a top five coach won't have to face them twice a year

Atlanta and sound that bad with all that by the way Atlanta much better old line than Denver star running back two I like young tight end young wide receiver and a defensive coach

so defensive coaches and offensive coaches I said there's yesterday I can see an offensive coach being irritated if their quarterback Rust doesn't run the offense he liked defensive coach is a Mike Tomlin and Pittsburgh, or Rahim Morris in Atlanta, Pete Carroll for many years, hey, you do you,

you take care of the offense, just don't turn it over too much. So Albert Breer earlier talked about, and this is why I think Atlanta is a prime example of everybody's looking at places quarterbacks go. I think Russell, Wilson, and Pittsburgh is a better situation than not having to face Mahomes and Herbert twice a year. Now, you've got to face Lamar Jackson, but he's not. Mahomes. You've got to face Burrow, but he's been hurt a lot. I don't worry about Cleveland long term. Like the coach, everything else I have questions about. Now, as far as Justin Fields,

I think he is a bad fit in Pittsburgh because it's a defensive culture and he's not efficient enough, accurate enough, or refined enough to go into a defensive culture and overcome that. Russell is. He'd be fine. He'd bring maturity to Pittsburgh, efficiency, accuracy, he's a grown-up. But I do think Justin Fields, although I'm not a huge fan, I think there's talent there. In Atlanta, everybody's like banging on Justin Fields and the Bears. They ruined Justin Fields. Let me ask you, do you want to face Detroit and Green Bay's young talent for the next two years? Or would you rather go to the NFC South? So everybody's, oh, Russell's getting treated poorly. Steelers are a better fit. Justin Fields being traded terribly.

Atlanta's a better fit indoors in a wonky division. Green Bay in Detroit. in my opinion, have the two best young rosters in the league. I think Detroit is a little older than Green Bay, but I would argue both offensive cultures, Green Bay and Detroit right now, offensive, really, really good. You think Justin Fields is going to overcome that? Chicago's history. They can't get offense right.

So I think everybody's all freaked out. This is unfair to Ross. Pittsburgh's a better fit. I don't have Herbert Mahomes four times a year with Harbon Andy Reid. Justin Fields. Chicago can't get offense, right? Go down to Atlanta, better all line than the Bears, better weather, weaker division, and take the thing over. Here's Albert earlier talking about the Bears' decision to move to Caleb and move off, Justin.

The people in the Bears staff believe you can win with Justin Fields, but Caleb Williams could be a generational talent. There's the financial piece of this, right? Like where, you know, a year from now, if you want to keep Justin Fields, it's going to cost a minimum of $25 million, and you've got to make that decision after the draft on whether or not you're picking up that option. If he has a great year in his fourth year, then it's going to be even more expensive than that. Whereas with Caleb Williams, you have four years of cost control, and you know what he's going to cost from now through 2027, and then you have the option for 28. And then I think there's the real-life application of this, too, Colin.

Ryan Poles and Matt Iberfluse didn't draft Justin Fields. And just from a job security perspective, this is a chance for them to start anew. Yeah, he made a great point. If the Bears, Iber Fluse, Ryan Poles, and Justin Fields go 7 and 10, everybody gets fired. If Caleb Williams goes 7 and 10 and really ends the season strongly, everybody gets an extension. So there's a lot of factors here. Polls and Iberfluse, Justin wasn't their guy. So you start the financial clock and you also start the emotional media clock.

Because even if you have the same record, you're not paying Caleb for years. There's more hope with Caleb. You can't look back at all the losses and interceptions and misstarts and you're like, I love. I mean, they're defending Justin Fields now. And Caleb's more talented than Justin Fields.
