We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.

I'm Michelle McPhee, and I've been unraveling the strangest criminal alliance I've ever
reported on, a Mormon polygamist and an Armenian businessman.
Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud.
But how long can this alliance last? Tell me what you know. Is somebody coming after me?

That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions,
the moment and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

Coming up, what are you going to say?
Bob, coming up, I was going to say,
Check Diesel Trivia.
Yeah, buddy.
Giving away a Swiggy.
And whose image has changed the most
in your mind when it comes to sports and entertainment
because Brett Favre our producer's spot,
our associate producer, our video producer spot.
He has changed a lot.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Because when we first met him, Richel,
Rich always says that he had like a Jonah Hill vibe.
about him? I used to say, if you
met Spot and you didn't immediately
love him, something was wrong.
Now Spot walks around with the tank top,
like he's in Adonis. Now it's like,
if you like Spot, I'm curious why. I'm kidding.
I've never heard my entire life.
Right. He's not the same guy.
That's evolution, baby.
Look, you can't stay the same.
And I got to say, look,
respectfully, when it comes to
Bill Belichick, I'm not
mad at the guy. I don't care at all.
You're just dating a young hottie. Leave me a
But it is the story.
It's a hot story.
You can't ignore the story.
No one emptied up the interview where she's like,
we're not talking about that.
Yeah, no doubt.
That to me was the, this was like a little flame in a forest.
That interview clip to me poured a tub of gasoline on it.
It really did to me.
Hold on though, Rich.
I don't want to sound like a double-talking hypocrite.
Like double-talking Davis, yeah.
Like Chatterbox Davis, I don't want to double-talk.
Like me? Okay.
If it was my daughter and she was,
24-year-old dating a 74-old.
Yeah, you better believe I would care.
But no is my problem.
You know, if this is what makes them happy, for sure.
But, I mean, we'd be doing a disservice to not acknowledge the story.
It's a hot story.
And not only is it a hot story, but the story grows.
Did you hear the other story today?
I did.
There's layers.
Brett Farv got a new boat.
No, not Brett Farv.
I mean, Bill Belichick got a new, well, Brett Farv's.
We're trying to get a new boat so he could just sail away and never be seen again.
Mississippi paid for a new boat.
So we just got a new boat based off he stole people's money.
Byer insinuated that there is a rumor of Belichick being engaged.
Yeah.
And, hey, I wish him all the best.
You saw the headline with the boat, right?
The boat is the other side of the story.
Not far, Belichick, where he got a new paint job on his boat.
They go to Meko?
and I believe he used to read like eight rings or something, right?
That was the name of the boat, eight rings.
Yeah.
Something like that.
And now it's repainted as one plus eight rings.
Oh, man.
So where's the other ring that adds fuel to the engagement fire?
And of course, you wished them all the best.
Who really gives a diddley squat, right, about their relationship?
But it is front and center.
And you have changed or maybe have made some sort of different assessment because here's a leader of men.
the most alpha men in all the land.
And it appears he's being bossed around by a young woman, which is odd to see.
Is that the facts?
Is that the case?
Maybe that's what he likes.
We don't know, but that's what we're led to believe.
But you definitely have a different image of the guy.
You would have never pictured Bill Belichick, the type of guy to be hanging around a 24-year-old woman.
So his image has changed.
My image changed when he was doing yoga moves with her on the beach.
I was like, wow, he's up there.
He was doing like the fly-like Superman that you do with your kid.
Right, right.
And from that moment on, I'm like, you know what?
I don't hate him.
You know, to me, my stance all along has been, if Bill Belichick is a guy that dedicated 50 years of his life to football.
And now that he's like 70, he has a single guy.
74.
If Bill Belichick's the type of guy that's like, you know what, I'm going to tap some young ass before it's all over.
God bless him.
I'm not that girl's father.
But still.
And you know what?
don't look at him the same way.
I don't.
And that's what we're talking about.
So it's not from a judgey place.
We're just telling you the story as it is.
And we'll keep you posted on the rumors.
And then, of course, the other story today involves Brett Farv.
We all knew the story.
We all knew the shady side of Brett Farv.
But no one really ever talked about it.
It's like he got his coverage as you thought it was.
It's like he got by unscathed because he was such a hero on the field that the fact
that he was a piece of trash with women
and Jen Sturger among others
in that Jets organization and the fact that
that you know there was you know the money in
Mississippi like Brett Farr, his true
colors are being shown today and I think moving forward
everyone's going to just hate Brett Ful.
Well if he just joined us again, we bring
him up specifically because
after today you're going to know
the untold story, the fall
of Farr debuted on Netflix
and people are buzzing about it like damn
Danny G came in today and Danny G
knew the stories but hearing it
firsthand on this documentary.
You were like, yo, man, he was a piece of truth.
What did you say?
I don't want to misquote you.
I just think that half the people are still going to ignore this, though.
Wow.
Yeah, that's what it...
But you said it was legit.
Like, it did not make him look good.
Yeah, like when Sturgis was talking, I believed her.
Yeah.
You know, and I don't think there's any reason anybody probably shouldn't with the story
and the facts.
Like, she has proof of what happened through text messages, emails, everything.
else and then there were witnesses to her side of things including people in this room right and then so i mean
like facts you know but then the second the second half of the dock though with the money it's for the
underserved the money is supposed to go to the underprivileged in that state and so that probably will
bother you even more yeah it's a welfare fraud scheme that he was a part of and you learn all about that
when you go home later tonight you're probably going to have a different opinion of brett farm
your friends are going to be talking about it but rich
says despite these two stories that are
big and front and center today,
there's still a number one
image change
in the world of sports. It's undeniable.
And, you know, the matter what happens,
no matter what athlete
goes heel or gets arrested
or does something dumb or anything,
nothing will ever trump.
No one will ever trump
the perception
of O.J. Simpson.
Or Renthal James.
And I still think, yeah, that is the number one.
it will always be the number one.
I mean, we're talking about a guy that was the most loved player broadcaster.
As I say in many of the documentaries, he was an African-American man that racist white guys liked.
Like, he crossed every demographic age, sex, race, everything.
People loved OJ Simpson.
He was a naked gun.
He was a broadcaster.
He can't even explain it to people.
The Hertz commercials.
My girlfriend who's slightly younger than me, when I try to explain to her the importance and significance of OJ.
And I always have to say, like, imagine Shaquille O'Neill.
Or Strahan was the other one.
Or Michael Schrahan.
Like, beloved, but even more love than them, arguably.
You know?
Imagine they went on a murder spree.
When you say a younger girlfriend, Jordan, like, no Belichick, right?
No Belichick.
Okay.
Yeah, I have to, yeah, no Belichick.
You just said murder spree, so Aaron Hernandez would have to be way up there on the list because
it's multiple kills.
Yeah, definitely.
But he was always known as a bit of a weirdo, right?
As an outcast.
Yeah, but we all heard.
that he had cleaned up his act.
It was the Belichick and Patriots way
and the effect of their organization.
And so we thought
he was like one of those great stories.
And as a casual fan, you didn't
know the back story. You just knew this dude was tearing
it up. He was a great tight end. And all of a sudden
he killed people. Danny, I don't
discount your answer. It's in the top.
It's on the list. Without a doubt. But I just think that
Aaron Hernandez was always
like, yo, that guy's a little rough around the edges.
Because of where he was from and his
friends and all that. But what my point,
which was we were all told that this was this great American story about how he got a second chance
and he totally cleaned up his life.
Yeah, not the case.
And you know what?
It doesn't have to be all negative, right?
Because I get throw Tom Brady into that conversation.
I think that after his retirement, I have a totally different understanding of who Tom Brady is and what he's about.
And he became a hell of a lot more likable to me after retirement.
Once he got away from the whole Patriots way and,
and again, we started to see a different side of the guy,
image shift completely,
because I thought he was like a stiff, boring sort of vanilla guy.
Really funny, personable dude.
So it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom.
Yeah, so image changes in the world of sports and entertainment.
Who did you go from loving to hating, hating to loving?
I just think after you watch this far of documentary,
if there was still a party that's like, yeah, man, hero, Brett Farm,
I think you're going to think differently.
And I don't judge Belichick,
but to say that it's not a.
different impression than the hard nose
my life is football
now when you're you're seeing him
being all cutesy with his 20-something year old
girlfriend you may not be
offended I'm not offended but I do look at him
differently like in my mind I thought he
only cared about football now I'm like
no he cares about booty yeah I know
yeah definitely why else would he different look
yeah like I think that's a funny part sports
isn't ignoring because sports doesn't like to
you know but you know what rich
we're not sexual stuff but let's be honest
sports people don't like to dive into the
sexual part of things is it's a little taboo.
But why are we ignoring the fact that there's a reason you get with a hot young woman
when you're a powerful older man?
If you don't think sex is a motivator, you think they're hanging out because she's cool?
We have a lot in common.
Do you think because, oh, we share a love of art?
No.
What do you think about the Vietnam War?
Bill Pellichick.
I live through it.
You didn't.
Billalich.
Bill DeWatch.
He's grabbing a hold of some young hot bod that he probably thought he would never do
again. Why are we pretending that's
not the real part of this?
And the other weird part about it is not only
do we look at him different. You don't think his young
players look at him in a different way.
Probably both, yeah. Yeah, like, oh man,
hey, you know what he's into.
And that's not the kind of look you
want for a guy in a leadership
position. Our society has always kind of glorified
it, though. Look at Hugh Hefner. Yeah, I was going to
say, like, midlife crisis buying a sports car.
Yeah, it's weird. And you know what, though?
If he wins, though, it's all forgiven.
it's all good. So that
cures and fixes everything.
A la Brett Favreve. Look how long we ignored the
Brett Fartf thing because he's a superstar.
So image shift the ruse. Let's get back to
it. Let's go to Josh in Ohio.
And then we'll go around the room here. What's up? Josh.
Hey guys.
Mid, mid-weight,
I actually changed my answer. Originally,
I was going to go with Vince McMahon, but
you inspired me to go from
positive to negative back
to positive. And that's Michael
Vic. We started out. We loved him as a
college quarterback. The pit bull thing happened. And now he's back to being a commentator. So he's
changed his image from positive to negative back to positive. And I think he needs a lot of flowers
for that. Speaking of, and I think that's a great answer. Isn't he in this documentary? He's a big
contributor. Yeah, he's part of this Brett Farr's documentary because he's all over the trailer.
Michael Vick was hated more for messing with animals than people are for murdering humans.
There are people that are like, I will never forgive Michael Vick.
The tales of that story are awful.
Horrible. Let's not downplay that.
I know, I know. Totally.
But for him. The simple fact is
if he was, quote, rehabilitated
and now fights for animal rights and does stuff
and he's a positive force,
then what a great turnaround. And that's
a great answer from Josh. It is a great answer because
you saw all different sides of it.
What did Josh say his original answer was? Vince McBan.
That's a great one because Vince McGrath was a
man, a business genius
that took wrestling from sweaty
you know,
hairy guys grappling to a billion
dollar sports entertainment world
and then you find out, oh man, he's into
weird stuff.
Vince.
Here's the tough part that,
and why I think the Michael Vick answer is magnificent.
Nobody here
thinks that guy
seems like he could be a murderer.
So when you're talking about
image and the OJ thing,
I just don't think
that you can, because nobody
would think that. Like if it was like, oh, this guy went and slept with a bunch of different
women or whatever, like, oh, it didn't seem, seem like he was a family. But when you get to
the murder part of it, I don't think anybody could see that, like at all. Like, it's, I think,
I think it's more of an extreme. And that's what makes the Vick so good. And what I think that
the, like, my recommendation was Tiger Woods for of loved, for everything that we thought
that he was, not knowing who they are behind the scenes. And then
has the scandal with all the different women and then comes back and is reloved again as he wins
in the 40s and is then looked at as a dad, you know, of his two kids.
Yeah, that's a really great answer too.
I just think when you have like a murder or the Hernandez situation, same thing and how he
ultimately, you know.
Yeah, murder shocking.
Animal cruelty, though.
That's really what it comes down to.
You're like, man, yeah, I don't have never guessed that.
Yeah, that's the part where.
And then Tiger Woods, you know what he always.
picture. Do you guys remember the SNL bit where Tim Meadows played like a goofy Tiger Woods?
Do you remember that bit or Tim Meadows? He's like, you know, being all goofy?
Because Tyke was like a real goofball, all shucks kind of guy. When you heard these stories about
what a womanizer he was, you're like, what? Tiger Woods? Listen, I'm not trying to defend
Tiger Woods. But and then again, he's beloved again. I look at Tiger Woods in Bill Belchick.
I'm not saying the same, but when you're so dedicated to something, the way Tiger Woods was so
discipline with golf, the way Bill Belichick dedicated 50 years to, you know, I'm going to win at every
level of football assistant coach, coach, most Super Bowl rings. I think there's a party that forgets
men's downfall so many of times is women. And like it wasn't shocking to me that Tiger Woods
mixed in with emotional championships and injuries in life. You don't think Tiger Woods like
every other man had a soft spot for a good looking woman. It sounds ridiculous and so juvenile.
But look at politics, look at sports.
So many downfalls revolve around women.
Sure.
It was the extent of what Tiger was doing as well
with so many different women at different times.
What was the end count?
Is it 18?
I don't know.
18 holes of golf, not 18.
I think it was.
I think it was, man.
I think it was.
Stop.
But you're right, Dan.
And then totally reinvented himself again.
So it's sort of on that Michael Vick era of we saw
how the image changed twice
or three times.
I mean, again,
we forget that with great power and success and money,
a man could very well fall into a world of women
that may not be there for the right reasons.
And trust me, Tiger Woods, when you look back now,
you're like, dude, since he was a little boy, golfing,
success, greatest of all time, injuries take place.
Everything has the equation to fall.
And women is a great reason.
Yeah.
So let's say hi to Mark and the Q's have some dinosaur barbecue.
What's up, buddy?
Hey, Mark.
We got Mark?
There we go.
Mark.
Mark.
Hey, buddy.
What's up?
What's up, bud?
I didn't even think of him.
But the one I was kidding.
Yeah, Ryan Leaf was one of those guys that,
He's also self-admittedly had, you know, his demons, but what a great guy he is every time we see him.
He's always been cool with us.
So Ryan Leaf is a guy that high hopes ended up in prison.
Right.
Now we see Ryan Leaf at sports events, footballs, media rose.
Ryan Leaf is the first got to stop and have a great conversation with you, really good guy.
Health, a big priority.
Like, he's fit and looks great.
So, yeah, he's definitely turned it around.
Delaware.
What's up, Jimmy?
Adrian Pitchison
Yeah, I mean
AP with the hall
Remember the switch
And hitting the kid
Right?
That was the thing like
That was a big moment
Yeah
That was a big debate
His son
Yeah
And now he's having
He's in some serious
Financial
Deep waters
Yeah
And the story of
You know
How to discipline your own kid
And he got a DY
recently too
What was common
For certain cultures
Not common for
Everybody
It opened up a lot of eyes
And yeah
He's he's one of those
That deal with that
What about
I think Alex Rodriguez is quite the turnaround.
Yeah.
What about Roger Clemens?
Well, that's a good one.
You're kind of an under the radar.
And the reason I bring it up is here's a guy when you think of back when we were growing up,
I mean, you would think that he would just be a legendary Red Sox player, right?
And so then he goes and plays for the Yankees and the Blue Jays and all those teams.
And then with the PED scandal.
and now like when you're looking back at like those eight like it's just like yeah it's a little different wasn't rocket roger yeah
you know what's crazy about that too dan is how yeah he won sye youngs with a lot of those teams and
the yankees even turned their back on the guy and you never saw him in any highlight videos until
recently he was brought to spring training or whatever but that's the first we saw him i think even
this year was the first we saw him there so as a guy who you believed was all about baseball and all
about the Red Sox, like you said.
Ended up being viewed as not the guy we remembered, for sure.
Image changers a la...
I think I like the A-Rod answer too a lot.
Fav and Belichick and a lot of people where one day you feel one way.
By the way, A-Rod, the broadcaster totally, like, redeemed any sort of cringy moments he may have had.
Kavino and I both agree that A-Rod went from putts, like, puts that just couldn't get it right,
but yet a legend, to a broadcaster.
that's very likable.
Like just recently, remember.
I love his analysis.
Remember recently he just, he was walking past, grabbed the two kids.
Kids were playing cornhole.
He grabbed it, threw it, nailed the shot.
He's like, yeah.
Like, A-Rod's sort of likable.
Got busted twice for PEDs.
I know.
Like, we just, you know, you just mentioned, you know,
Roger Clemens in that, like, conversation.
And I'm not saying that that's still being held against Roger Clemens.
Hughes, I thought his profile just would have been bigger than what it is.
And Arod got busted twice.
The Yankees, as he said, well, the Yankees couldn't wait to
get rid of A-Rod either.
But, yeah, but now,
front and center everywhere. He'll be front and center
tonight, probably in Oklahoma City
as the T-Wolves owner.
Let's say hi to Greg.
We'll wrap it up in Hartford. Then we'll play a little
Shaq Diesel trivia. If you want in,
877-99 on Fox. We'll get
a contest and Danny G. will line that up.
We'll give away a stainless steel
Swiggy. What's up, Greg? Harford.
Looking at this is, who
am I not getting a selfie with
because it would just blow up my feed? Like, why
would you do it? So, who I would not get a selfie with is Lance Armstrong.
Don't have time for that. But I would, and then, but one of redemption is plasticoburst.
I would love to get a selfie with him. So there you go. Those are my two. Yeah, he's on our network now.
You know, based on his assessment of the selfie, OJ would be the most controversial one.
Because we were on, you know, before he died. Do you remember this day?
Yeah, of course. I mean, how much it was the one that.
pointed about. You guys were like, what? He was wearing a
Bill's hat, too. He was in row
one seat A of our Southwest
flight from Burbank to Las Vegas.
And he was greeting everyone, like little headnods. It's like, oh, hey, juice.
Oh, my God, it's OJ Simpson. I was hoping Carma
didn't play a part in our flight. And Kavino, the
whole flight was like, you know, if this flight goes down,
people will cheer. Damn it.
I know. And when we
were about to get off the plane, we
joked, Danny. Do you remember saying, like, yeah, if you
got the Huevos to get a selfie with OJ,
like 100 bucks? Like, yeah.
So the rest of your answers.
We also said if that plane had unfortunately crashed, the headline would be football legend dies.
And no one can about us.
And murderer dies.
And two radio hosts.
Yeah, we need.
Two radio clowns, I think is what we agreed on.
Two radio clowns.
And the reason we bring this up, guys, image shifts, image changes is because there's two stories today.
Bill Belichick might be engaged to his 24-year-old girlfriend, renamed his boat.
One plus eight rings.
Not the Bill Belichick you knew a year or two ago.
And Brett Farve, after you see this documentary that premiered today,
you'll probably think differently of the guy.
No doubt.
All right.
Well, hey, you want in?
We'll play some Shaq Diesel trivia coming up.
And we'll pay tribute to a TV legend who passed away.
If you don't know, we'll give you the sad news coming up.
All here on Kavino and Rich Fox Sports Radio.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, new?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts around there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band
before Jonas Brothers
was...
This is how you guys remember
it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing,
a bit for the podcast
where people could call in and say,
Hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down

She's an outsider to win the French for me.
And she likes Clay.

Ah, rest in peace, George Wentz, 76 years old.
Norm from Cheers.
Died peacefully in his sleep.
That's the update there.
By the way, just to put in perspective,
you know how we talk about how,
for some reason back of the day,
you look at your parents' yearbook
and everyone looks like they're 30 in high school?
Dude's had full-on mutton chops.
They were 50 years old in high school.
TV dads of the 80s.
You're like, how old are they?
According to the stats, the cast of cheers.
When you're looking at the group shot, they've labeled the ages.
George Went was supposed to be 34.
Ted Danson as the bar owner, 35.
Who's the guy that played the mailman with the mustache?
What was his character again?
Cliff?
Yeah, Cliff.
35.
and
yeah, Cliff Clavin
and the women on that show
were both 33 years old.
33.
George Went was actually
like in his mid to late 30s
though and he,
but I'm saying it's like
they looked different.
Like I was Sam,
I was saying I'm guessing
your grandparents are no longer with us.
I lost my last grandparent
in March.
I have a theory,
but let me just tell everyone right now
if you want to call the win.
Let's get the phones going
87799 on Foxx.
Oh yeah,
we're going to play our game.
Shack Diesel,
trivia. It's real easy to play and we're giving away a
swiggy to the winner. A stainless
steel. Stainless. The other one?
Stains. This one? Stainless.
Stainless steel water bottle.
It's midnight black. It's real nice
and your chance to win is
now. 87799 on Fox.
Now back to my grandparent theory. And I bring
that up Sam because I feel like most of us have lost our
grandparents, right? You think
of your old grandma and grandpa and the people that help
raise us. You'd be a grandma's house.
My grandmother wore a mumu. My grandfather
was a World War II veteran who like brushed his hair back and washed his hands with like lava
soap after he worked on his car in the driveway.
My grandpa watched his face with lava so.
They looked like they were 80 when they were 55.
And I look at my dad and my mom now who are roughly both around 70.
They look 20 years younger than my grandparents looked at that age.
So when you look back at the 80s and you're like, wait a minute, hold on.
Like these TV dads are supposed to be 30?
They look 50.
I don't they just we age differently.
Look at me.
I look like a little man boy.
Look at me.
You are a man boy.
A little man boy.
Look at me.
Yeah.
Maturity level.
Man boy.
Man boy.
All right.
Danny G.
Phones are all hot.
We'll get that contested right now for Shaq.
Diesel trivia.
Saw him in the hallway.
Spock, go get him.
He looks like he's in a rush.
Obviously a big night tonight.
Wolves at Thunder.
And we're pumped about it.
So always excited to see Shaq Diesel.
Well, I'm going to give some basketball picks in a few seconds.
for tonight's game while Danny G. gets a contestant.
I just want to point out one thing, Shaq, when he gets in here.
You know the rumors about the NBA draft lottery being rigged?
Do you see what Shaq said?
I was going to ask him about it.
He said in the 90s.
David Stern asked him.
David Stern says, do you want to play in a hot or cold place?
You're stealing all of Shaq's material.
Well, you know what?
Well, you know what?
We'll talk to Shaq in a second.
No, I mean, he already said it.
He asked, David Stern asked Shaq,
you want to play where it's hot or cold?
And Shaq said,
where it's hot. And he ended up in Orlando.
What if he was just asking his preference?
Well, why?
What do you prefer?
I just coincidental.
Let's do what I was saying.
Shack Diesel trivia.
Whenever we say not to name drop,
that means we're about to name drop.
I'll name drop.
Oh my goodness.
Not only are CNR friends with Tyson and Mahomes.
Hey, man.
They're also buddies with a big Aristotle.
Shish!
Oh, what's up is bitch.
Shaq Diesel, aka Shaq Fu,
aka Shaq Daddy,
aka the Big Aristotle.
Guess what?
It's time to win some seeing our pride.
Time for some basketball trivia.
Shaq Diesel basketball trivia.
What he said.
He's the great bad boys now.
Breaking records for FSR Radio.
Shaq Diesel Basketball Trivia.
All right, FSR security,
walking our broke Shaq Fu into the main studio.
Are you ready to get this?
Great to you guys.
The semi-finals, duh, going tonight?
Out of breath.
So, draft lottery, Rick check, or what?
You know, allegedly, Davis-Tern asked me, but you already told the story.
So, carry on.
I will tell you this, though, rest in peace, George Went.
He's my third favorite George on TV.
Who's your first two?
Well, George Jefferson, number one.
George Jefferson, and I'm not talking about Stephen A. Smith.
I'm talking about George Jefferson, and then George Jetson, and then George Went.
Rest and peace.
Jets, Jetsons fan, huh?
We're a big Jetsons fan.
Who do you got tonight for game one of the Western Conference finals?
He already said NBA is rigged, allegedly.
So tonight is going to be the Timberwolves, but the Nix are definitely in.
All right.
You heard of from Shaq.
Let's meet the contestants.
10-time winner, Rich Davis right over there.
Here we go.
Shack.
Four-time winner, Spotty Boy.
Great to see you.
Let's do this.
All right, let's go.
Leader in the clubhouse, 13-time winner, Dan Byer.
Hello.
And looking to win a CINR stainless steel Swigie on our.
studio lines. The first one through
was Neil in
La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Neil. Yeah, Neil, what's up, man?
All right, let's go. All right, Neil, what you do
really quick for a living there in lacrosse?
I'm with cheese.
What was that? What do you do for a living
in Wisconsin there?
Oh, I deliver
just deliver goods.
Delivering goods to the Kuli region.
He's what he does.
Here are the rules for Shaq Diesel trivia.
The first contestant with two correct answers,
is the champ. If there's a tie, we do have a tie breaker question. Your name is your buzzer,
but you do have to wait until all three possible answers are read. If there's two wrong answers in
a row, we move on to the next question. Are you ready? Yeah, let's go. Let's get it on.
Let's do this. Who is the first team to lose three straight NBA finals?
No. Was it A, the Lakers, B, the Celtics, or C, the Knicks? Shack Diesel.
Who you got? Come on, I'm giving you a chance, Neil.
We got first team to lose three straight NBA finals.
Neil?
Yeah, no penalty if you're wrong, Neil.
Rich.
Rich.
Lakers.
Oh, Rich, you say Lakers?
Yeah, it's Lakers.
No, it's not.
Oh, it's not Lakers?
It's not?
No, but that was nice.
Nice try.
He's so confident.
You were so confident.
Neil, shout your name.
Neil, what did?
Yeah, Neil, you got to shout your name out.
Yep, Celtic.
His name's yep.
And you're both losers.
It was the.
Knicks.
Knicks lost to the Rochester Royals in 51 and Minneapolis Lakers 52 and 53.
It's the Lakers.
All right.
Wait to be wrong.
Hold on, ass clown.
You know why the Lakers were an obvious good answer?
Because do you know how many years they lost to the Celtics back in the day?
This guy's always justifying.
I love what he's so confident.
Why are you talking to Shaq like that?
Every time he loses.
But so wrong.
You talk to Cavino like that.
You can't talk to Shaq like that.
You better stick my foot up your ass, Shaq.
You better relax.
All right.
Nobody on the board yet.
Let's go to round two.
What was I once quote of saying about my habits?
Oh, here we go.
A, excellence is not a singular act but a habit.
What are you repeat?
You are what you repeatedly do.
B, I've got three habits I've dealt with, cars, women, and collecting businesses.
Or C, a lot of bad habits finally get broken when they break your bank account.
Oh.
What have I said about my habits?
Spot.
Spot.
I want to go with C.
No.
Ah, man.
Neil, you're going to jump in or what?
I'll go a beat.
You'd be wrong.
Come on.
You'd be wrong.
He said, oh, hey, excellence is not a singular act, but a habit.
You are what you repeatedly do.
Neil, you're like Shaq at the free throw line.
I'm sorry.
All strikes so far.
No one on the floor.
As we go to round three, yeah, Neil, just buzz in by saying your name.
Your name is Neil.
Remember your name is Neil.
Round three.
Your name's yep.
Round three.
I felt bad for Jason Tatum.
Let's get a question in about
the C's Glory Days,
who is the only team to defeat the Celtics
at the infamous Boston Garden during the
1985-86 season.
A, the Washington Bullets,
B, the Portland Trail Blazers,
or C, the New York Knicks.
Dan, Byer.
Let's say the Blazers came to town
and got to win.
You are correct.
All right.
Yes.
Bobam.
Yep.
Yep.
Yep.
Yeah, December 6, 1985, the only loss at Boston Garden.
They finished 37 and won that season.
Yeah, that's insane.
That's amazing.
That's insane.
All right, buyer on the board.
We go to round four.
That's right.
Jack Diesel, round four.
I was a busy boy back in my day as well.
How many children does the T-Wolves Anthony Edwards have?
Is it A, 8, B, 6, or C-4?
Now, Neil, if you don't get this right, I'm going to take my shoe off and hit you over the head.
You say your name first.
Neil, you got to buzz in by saying your name.
His name is now, yeah.
Shout out, Neil.
Yep, Neil.
B6, no.
No, he had D.
Just put it away, Dan Byer.
Just put it away.
Byer for the steel and the win.
Oh, gosh.
See?
Yes.
All right.
Yes, four.
Anthony Edwards has four kids.
Look at this.
Four kids by four different ones.
women, so he's off to a good start.
He's only 23 years old.
All right.
Thank you.
And Bayer gets his 14th win.
My God, that was painful.
I had to save Wisconsin's pride.
I know.
Come on.
Now,
now,
piece, George went.
Now, usually,
Bayer's a no-brainer for you to still mail the Swiggy out.
No.
Matt,
I want to interject and say, we have to set a standard.
That guy was, as my,
my good friend Charles would say, terrible.
It's Shaq's game.
Yeah, he was terrible.
He gets nothing.
We love you, though.
He gets a slap in the head.
That's what he gets.
We still love you, though, Neil.
Thank you for listening.
Goodbye.
Thanks, yep.
Later, guys.
All right, guys.
Enjoy the game tonight.
Bye.
Bye.
Bye.
Running late.
Update.
Let's go.
Yeah, a couple of things, guys.
Guardians and Twins postponed tonight.
They were supposed to resume the game that didn't complete yesterday.
They're going to do that tomorrow.
Play on Wednesday.
And then they'll make up tonight's game later on the season in September.
Tonight on the hardwood,
It is the Thunder and Timberwolves playing game one of the Western Conference finals.
8.30 Eastern time.
Game one of the Eastern finals on the ice.
Panthers and hurricanes skate and Raleigh at 8 Eastern.
NFL owners did pass a rule that will allow players to play flag football in the 2028 summer Olympics.

Those were his words.

And Hall of Famer Charles Woodson had his purchase of a minority share of the Cleveland Browns approved today by NFL ownership.
Guys, back to you.
Hey, thanks, Dan.
Appreciate you.

Yep.

We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it
one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing.
a bit for the podcast for people could call in and say, Hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.

Let's hear it, Rich. Here's what I
like. Now, a lot of times
Draft Kings does this cool thing where they sort of
give you a gimmie. You ever see these things where it's like
Anthony Edwards, more than 0.5
points because they want you to, you know, want you
to play. Sure. I'm taking advantage
of the sweet offerings from Draf King. So here's what
I'm doing. It's
Anthony Edwards more than half a point.
It was 25 and a half,
but they're giving that to you as like the little bonus.
So I'm going more than Anthony,
more than 0.5 for Anthony Edwards.
And for also Minnesota,
Julius Randall more than 19 and a half.
He scored 20 or more in, I think,
five of the last six games.
So Julius Randall needs to hit 20 or more.
Now, Alex Caruso on the other side of things.
OKC, he's had double-digit games.
I think also like six of the last seven games.
He bawled out in that game seven.
So eight and a half, you know,
just think Crusoe to get nine.
I like that.
And the one risky one I did,
because he has proven to just be a big game player.
You're likely MVP.
SGA more than 31.5.
So you need 32 from SGA,
20 from Randall,
double digits for Caruso,
and Anthony Edwards just to score a point.
And that's 10 bucks.
wins you 80.
Are they that?
Ten buckaroos?
Yeah, ten bucks win jaded.
Wow.
Why not, right?
Yeah.
By the way, I'm thinking about what Shaquille O'Neal said when he was here, broke shack.
He said, I'm never coming back.
He did say, you know, Rich talks too much, and that guy sucked as a contestant, but glad he played.
And he said he was very busy.
He also said that the NBA is rigged allegedly, right?
Yeah.
He's sort of leaned into it to a funny one.
Based on David Stern.
and saying, hey, where do you want to play?
Where it's colder, where it's hot, and then Orlando gets the first pick, and they pick Shaq.
If it comes down to ratings, and we already alluded that the NBA has to want the NICS,
because that equals ratings, who, what would be the better ratings grab?
The Knicks, Timberwolves, or the Thunder?
SGA is your likely MVP, but then again, Anthony Edwards is one of the more exciting
players.
They're both like,
Brokshack did say
Nick's Timberwolves.
Edwards has the bigger star power.
Yeah.
That's what I think too.
Yeah.
Is that the answer though?
You know, Danny,
I'll compare it to the NFL when we said
Brock Purdy sitting with a similar salary
to Tua and Goff and other guys.
We're like, yeah, so does it make sense.
I think the T-wolves and the thunder
in that same level of like, yo, young,
exciting team, but not, they don't have the star power of the
Lakers, the Warriors.
And it stinks that they're a small market team because when
they're clicking. They're really fun to watch. They play a fun brand of basketball.
What do you rather say? You might rather see Minnesota because I'll make your boss happy, right?
Yeah, no, I agree with Danny G. The Anthony Edwards storyline is probably a bigger story for the casual
guy because they all know him by now with the Jordan comparisons. The young superstars on
the Thunder, people aren't that familiar with, maybe Caruso and SGA, but again, not as a
exciting as Anthony. But I do wonder, is this
the beginning of like,
SGA's first of many? And then we'll look
back and be like, why do we downplay this
kid? Like, you know, so what is
the finals that you would want to see or that the
networks would want to see? Hit us up at
Covino and Rich. We'll see you guys back here tomorrow.
Thank you, Danny G and I with Sam and Spotty.
Until then, Arriva Darci, baby. See you in the
