Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an IHeart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
Starting point is 00:00:30 you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the ice. Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Last night, a blown call changed a game. This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where SportsSlice comes in. I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline. And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear. Listen to SportsSlic on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.

Multi-million dollar house, Ferraris and Lamborghinis, private jets, a billion dollar fraud. But how long can this alliance last? Tell me what you're. know is somebody coming after me? Starting point is 00:03:41 He's awesome. So you got kids in sports, really fun hang. So Coach Ball Game right after the show today. But hey, we got lots to still get to. David Robinson. He pulled the move that some are questioning. Yeah, the admiral, remember him? We are also going to talk about dire wolves
Starting point is 00:04:00 and the idea of scientists bringing back formerly extinct species. Is this a terrible idea? How many movies have been made warning us not to do this? Again, if we have time and if we don't overpromised in an hour on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page, join us live with Coach Ballgame. I'm Covino. That is Rich.
Starting point is 00:04:19 Danny G., Sam, Monty Spa. Everybody's here at Covino and Rich. on social media. It's National Siblings Day, which again is better than, I don't know, National Macaroni and Cheese Day or whatever else is going on this week, National Donut Day. At least it inspires you to post a nice picture of your family or make a phone call or go out for a brouhaha with your bro.
Starting point is 00:04:40 I just know that the criteria for Kavino is much like most siblings. When you post a picture, you're not going to care about what they look like in the photo. You care about what you like in the photo. Yeah, I don't care what they look like in the photo. Rich, you're going to love this tomorrow is National Barbershop Day. Oh, we have a Brutus Beefcake on? Sweeney Todd? No, you go get a new cell phone plan.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Who's our, yeah, that was a fun story yesterday. Check out yesterday's podcast, yeah. Catch the podcast. Hey, now, I'm Kvino. Not only am I here Monday through Friday on Fox Sports Radio, but I also have been doing rock radio for 20-something years, right? Started at K-Rock, New York. I'm still on turbo every night on Sirius XM Channel 41,
Starting point is 00:05:26 which is Angry, Divorced Dad Rock. And I'm just throwing us out there because I know I'll be talking about it later. When it comes to brothers, I got some surprises before I get into my stories. People listen to rock music, huh? They do. Like the band Filter. The lead singer of the band Filter. Richard Patrick.
Starting point is 00:05:43 Who sings, I want to take your picture. Yeah, filter. Filter, Richard Patrick, lead singer. They used to be a nine-inch. nails started filter. His brother is Robert Patrick from Terminator 2 and Sopranos, the actor. Robert Patrick, the cop. I did not know that.
Starting point is 00:06:00 A lot of people don't know that because they're two different worlds. Like, wait, the rock star and the actor they're brothers. They're absolutely brothers. I got another one for you. Rob zombie, of white zombie fame. Rob zombie. And his brother Rod. Not his brother Rod. Rod. No one really talks about his brother, Rod.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Rod zombie? He's kind of cool. But not as cool as Spider 1. Who's Spider 1? The lead singer. of Power Man 5,000. This is what is like when worlds collide. They're actually brothers, actual brothers. The band Incubus, Brandon Boyd and Scott Einsinger,
Starting point is 00:06:34 all their little brothers are in a band. Their little brothers are in a band called AudioVent. And Corn, Jonathan Davis's brother, you know corn. Jonathan Davis's brother, it's actually his half-brother. Markey Chavez is the lead singer of Adema. So when you hear Adema songs, they sound like corn songs and that's why.
Starting point is 00:06:53 So I know I'll be talking about that later on, but as far as sports, this is how the game works. Corn? Never says goodbye. It says, see you later. No, the band corn. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Not the actual vegetable.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Come on, come on. And I know what you mean by that. Covino, can I give you one hip-hop? Yeah, give me one. Siblings. Andre 3000 and Big Boy from Outcast. Actual brothers? Let's see here.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Are you saying like the black guys? Like, they're black guys? Like, they look like. A little different. I don't know. Yeah, okay. They've said that they're brothers for life. Okay. Let me give you one.
Starting point is 00:07:26 How about? Blood brothers. Pinky swear. How about, I don't know if the third one's a brother, but if you do the blood oath, are you really, like, are you stepbrothers? You might be. I don't know if the third ones are brother, but Fred Savage, Ben Savage. And macho man Randy Savage?
Starting point is 00:07:41 Yeah, yeah. I mean, I'm not sure about Randy, but the other two for sure. But fun fact, the late great macho man, Randy Savage, if you were a wrestling fan in the 80s and 90s, his brother in real life is Leaping Lanny Pafo. That is true. And if you're a wrestling fan, you know that. But look it up.
Starting point is 00:07:58 You don't believe it. How about the island boys? They're definitely brother. Danny G. I got another one off of Danny G's bunk list. Danny's like, what about Buster Rhymes and Ryan Ryan Ryan? They're the top of this list.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Look at, they're the top of this list. I'm like, I didn't know that. Then I clicked on it says Blood Brothers. Come on. That Google AI overview needs a little tweaking. Yeah. I mean, could we say the most? most famous ones.
Starting point is 00:08:21 You got to say like biological siblings. We know Reverend Run and Russell Simmons too. Yeah, for sure. You know what? I don't want to take the answer. So let's go to Josh and Ohio on National Siblings Day. You want to go to the calls real quick? Yeah, sure.
Starting point is 00:08:34 Your favorite athlete brothers and your story about your siblings on National Siblings Day. Old school and 50 hits, we reminisce every Thursday. Josh, what's up, man? Good afternoon, gentlemen. Yeah, keeping with the W with the wrestling theme, My favorite athlete's siblings, brothers are both amateur wrestlers and professional wrestlers from my University of Michigan, the Steiner brothers. Oh, they used to those, these were those official wrestling head gear.
Starting point is 00:09:03 I remember that. I prefer the Von Erics. Yeah? Yeah. I prefer, he was everyone's brother, brother, love. Oh, that's a good one. That's a good one. And Josh, did you have a quick story for us?
Starting point is 00:09:17 I do. All right. What you got? So my brother and I, gigantic Wu-Tang fans, were coming up on the 25th anniversary. We were set to go to Chicago to see them at the House of Blues. All nine members were going to do three-songs set, solo set, including ODB, who was still alive, and then we're going to come back and do a group set. We drove from Indianapolis all the way up to Chicago.
Starting point is 00:09:45 We hit Lakeshore Drive. I said, my brother, you got the top. tickets, right? He had left them all the way in Indiana less two and a half hours. Most show sold out. What an ass clown. That was before facial recognition.
Starting point is 00:10:00 That's the worst. All right. By the way, you ever blame something on a sibling and no one knew until years later? All the time. Like, I mean, you have to, that's like if you're the older sibling, you bully them and you blame everything. I'm saying like someone dented dad's car with a baseball
Starting point is 00:10:14 and you're like, oh, Jimmy did it. Anything like that? That's the best. Let's go to Matt in Alaska. You also have to practice your wrestling moves on them. You know how many times my brother was a recipient of a figure for a leglock? My goodness. What's up, Matt? Hey, what's going on?
Starting point is 00:10:31 I'd say my favorite sports siblings are probably the Curry brothers, just from the simple fact that how can both of them be so freaking good at shooting basketball? You know what the sad part is? Seth, if not for Steph, would be almost like more respected. I almost feel like poor Seth Curry is like, well, let's see you, Steph's brother. Yeah, I agree with that. I completely agree. Funny sibling story is about 25 years ago.
Starting point is 00:10:58 My brother and I were talking sports, and I said that somebody, I don't remember who we're talking about, but I was like, yeah, that did so good. And he goes, who's Seri? And I said, what? And he goes, who's Sergi? And now, me and my other two brothers have never, ever referred to him by name. He has only known as Sergi. Sergi. He's so Gary.
Starting point is 00:11:16 Absolutely crazy. That's so stupid, but I can see that being a thing. That's very funny. That's what brothers do. Trip in Vegas, what's up, man? What's up, gentlemen? Look forward to next week, hearing all in the morning. So my favorite would be the Hanson brothers from Slapshot.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Those are good ones. And then the story real quick, my sister's nine years older than I am. I was eight years old. She'd been beating me up or something, and I was mad. Oh, I had got a Red Rider BB gun. I ran her through the garage where we had a screen door. And I was like, I'm going to shoot you. She's like, go ahead and she bent over and put her butt to the window.
Starting point is 00:11:54 What she didn't realize was the screen was up. I shot her right in the butt. And to this day, she remembers that she thought the glass was still there, but the glass was up. I mean, she, to this day, she remembers that. Look, Tripp, Sharp Shoot. Thank you, Triper. I appreciate it. So again, I'll tell my story.
Starting point is 00:12:11 My nod goes to the Konseko brothers. come on two beasted on twins Ozzy and you got goofy Ozzie Kinsego is that your answer to? Yeah. I mean to me they're the most famous because you still got Jose who's a legend. He's still calling out Aaron Judge. Have you heard that story? Stupid Jose Konseko
Starting point is 00:12:28 who I love. He was great. 40, 40 hitting bombs but he claims that he could hit a softball farther than Aaron Judge could hit a baseball and he has half a million dollars on it. I have a question. And Judge won't take the challenge. But weren't there stories though where he would use Ozzy as a
Starting point is 00:12:44 standing? Yeah, there were a lot of weird Ozzy Canseco stories because they were twins, but Ozzie looks like a little different when you look at him closely. He looks a little different from Jose. Not as massive. So they're my sports nod when it comes to brothers on Siblings Day, but I got
Starting point is 00:13:00 so many siblings stories. You know, you mentioned that my brother is an appraiser. My mom's not going to like this story. So mom, earmuffs, if you're listening. But he's a young, 30-something-year-old stud, right? My brother. he goes in for an appraisal
Starting point is 00:13:15 and it was like an old realtor lady there and let's just say she threw some moves on my brother and he was like but she was old yo and I was like how he was like old and I was like like
Starting point is 00:13:29 mom old he's like yeah I'm like oh my god in someone's house yeah so he was appraising well I don't know whose house it was I guess yeah he was appraising a house a house and the realtor lady who was there. No, I think they had relations like
Starting point is 00:13:47 somewhere else. I don't know, but she made the moves on my brother. So he went real old. That's one story. Another story is he saw For Boris Gump and thought it was real for years. I think that was great. He was born when I was heading to college. He thought I was just some dude
Starting point is 00:14:05 that would visit every once in a while. Until years later, he realized that was his brother. It made no sense to him. And unfortunately my grandpa passed away when we were kids, right? So by the time my brother was aware of things, when grandma would visit, grandma would always visit with my uncle Tommy, my dad's brother. So forever, my brother thought that my grandma was married to her son. Your brother's a dope. Yeah, but that's usually the youngest sibling, right? They don't know the family dynamics.
Starting point is 00:14:38 I'm like, so wait a second. If you thought grandma was married to Uncle Tommy, Did you think Uncle Tommy was your grandpa? He's like, I never really thought about it. I'm like, what? It's really, honestly, it's the youngest. I never thought about it. The younger siblings just have no insight on those dynamics. And they don't care.
Starting point is 00:14:56 There was a Christmas Eve where my younger brother, my dad's first cousin, like, grew up like a brother to my dad. They lived in the same neighborhood. My dad's first cousin. And they also worked at a supermarket in high school together. My brother at a holiday was like, so, dad, you met Donnie at the supermarket? You met Dot? Jimmy, that's your uncle. How did you guys meet again?
Starting point is 00:15:17 Oh, they're related. That's how they met. They didn't meet it to supermarket. So I think it's just younger. My sister, Grace, she's always dye in her hair, like purple or something ridiculous, right? And she was dying her hair
Starting point is 00:15:29 and got it on her arm. And she was going out and didn't know how to get it off. She used magic eraser on her arm, burning all her skin off her arm. It still has, like, all the scars from like the burns on it. So, you know, siblings, you have stories for days. Danny G., I know you got brothers who listen.
Starting point is 00:15:46 So tell us your stories. Yeah, I'm one of eight. It's almost like Tyree Kill is my dad. Oh, my God. Really? Really, though? Three dads and three moms involved. Wow.
Starting point is 00:15:55 One of my younger stepbrothers, Andrew, he went to school with Colin Kaepernick in Northern California. And not ironically, he is a 49er fan. You'll love this, Rich. So we're at one of the famous Raider Niners Candlestick preseason games. All the fights in the parking lot. action-pack games before the season began. He was one of the fans they called down for halftime to kick a field goal to win, I think it was like $1,000.
Starting point is 00:16:22 So we can't believe he's one of the ones chosen. We're like, oh, my God, so he's down there. He's athletic, by the way, good basketball player, pretty good athlete. He slips on the grass as his foot touches the football, so they counted it as the kick. He eats bleep. He hit the grass so hard. To this day, he never lives it down. If we're at a family picnic, anything, we're like, hey.
Starting point is 00:16:45 Oh, old slippy ass. Andrew, get the football out. Let's see you kick. Dude, you know, and that's a sibling's job to, like, never let him forget these things. It's great. Sam, you want to tell us more about your hot sister or what? Hot in comparison to me. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:17:02 Well, she's a few years older than me, Dr. Martha. She's a pediatrician. Her name is Martha? What? Martha? Yeah. Wow, people are with that name in the 80s, huh? Yep, yep. She was born in 84, so she turned 40 last June.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Oh, look at that. Well, we just had, I mean, we got along pretty well growing up. She did kind of like up until we kind of got to that, that peace deal when we were like, you know, 12, 14, whatever. She would, like, you know. Would you try to hang out with all of stuff? Would you try to hang out with all her hot friends? Oh, yeah. Were you the younger brother that was clear?
Starting point is 00:17:36 Were you the guy that lingered around like, hey. No, they wanted to hang out with me. Nice. there was like expectations they're like oh it's fate that sam and alley are going to like hook up over the fourth of july and then like i was too chicken chicken s to go through with it i was like she's too intimidating oh man So I Missed opportunity, Sam I know I tagged along a lot
Starting point is 00:17:56 though We had great times But she's great And she lives out In Philadelphia But she would like She would bully me around Physically like
Starting point is 00:18:03 She threw a stapler at my head once She threw like a magazine With like a really thick Binding on it Hit me in the forehead But then like one day I was like big enough Where I just like sat on her
Starting point is 00:18:12 And she did one of those like Cartoon like banging the ground Like no let get off of me And from there like Ralphie in a Christmas story Exactly so like from then on though Like I You know she was like
Starting point is 00:18:22 Was that one was that too weeks ago. Dude, I swear to God. This was like 25 years ago. Spot who's doing our videos at Covino and Rich. Spot, you got to see his brothers. His brothers are straight from the Jersey Shore cast, right? His brother, his name is James.
Starting point is 00:18:39 They call him J. Rock. And he's a DJ in New Jersey. It's almost like if they didn't go with the situation, they would have went with J. And he was on stage. I'm like, I don't get that at all. He was on standby. We've got so many X-rated stories about. Jay Rock that we can't even talk about him here on the radio.
Starting point is 00:18:56 But one time he's like, yeah, I'm a robot now. I'm like, what do you mean you're a robot? At the clubs in New Jersey, not only does he, or did he DJ or I don't know if he still does it, but remember when he had like an eight-foot robot outfit that he would march out to? He said to, he goes, guys, well, he comes up. He's a total guido guy. We called him Guido-Tron for years because he would come out as a robot with like neon lights in the middle of the club.
Starting point is 00:19:19 Guido-Tron. Oh, that's great. put on a show at the Jersey Shore. So he was that guy. He really is. The intergalactic Beastie Boys music video. Just know that if Paul E.
Starting point is 00:19:31 would have messed up. J. Rock would have been in there. If Ronnie did not bring the Ron Ron Jee's, J. Rock would have been in there. But hey, yeah. Siblings Day, look at all the mutants that you see on social media. Those are the siblings of your friends. Let's say hi to Zach to wrap this up.
Starting point is 00:19:47 What's up, Zach? Hey, guys. How you doing? What's up? sports sibling Steelers fans. So I got to go with the Watt brothers, mainly just because of T.J. And then two real quick stories about my brother when we were little kids, remember, like, dad slipping curse words into stuff instead of calling you an A-hole, call you a grass hole.
Starting point is 00:20:13 And remember my brother screwing it up, and instead of saying that, called him a grass A. and always just thought that was really funny. Yeah. Those are things that live, all those family things live on for years and years. Those are the jokes you bring up at the holiday or the barbecue. They never go away. They never go away. Other one, still when we were like kids to the point where we would take baths together,
Starting point is 00:20:38 we would stand up on the back of the ledge and then slide down the bath. Water would splash everywhere. Dad came in, picked me up by my foot, smacked me on the butt, took off Ryan. run into the bedroom like a little kid, picked my brother up, smacked him in the butt, set him down, he turned around and said, are you done yet? So still to this day,
Starting point is 00:20:58 Logan, with our parents, are you done yet? Do you, do you remember when you took baths with your siblings? Yeah, you still do, right? You and your brother Jim? Yeah, my brother's weird when we get together.
Starting point is 00:21:08 I always thought that was weird. Rich's butt still do. It's not normal? And Rich still doesn't wash his feet. Yeah, so weird. You know, Rich, I never did that because I'm eight years older than my next sibling. I'm way older than my siblings.
Starting point is 00:21:22 Yeah, there was one last question about siblings who will move along. Are you shocked that Joey Bosa didn't take a little less money to play with his brother in San Francisco? Listen, when you're making tens of millions of dollars, I get it. You're trying to get the best deal for yourself. But there was a part of me that thought you would get the brother discount because there was speculation that. You know, Nick Bosa was trying to tell his brother, yo, Joey, now you have the ability. Come play in the Bay area. Come play.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Do you think some of that, though, is you want to be your own man? Like, imagine if your brother wanted to join you on your radio show. Yeah, I guess so. But there was a part of me that thought, wow, how cool. They probably dreamt about it, right? Like, yeah, the Bosa brothers on the same team. They had the chance. He went to Buffalo, right?
Starting point is 00:22:03 Right. I always thought that was interesting. I was like, I know it was like a million dollars more. And like, you can't, you can't sniff it out. You can't hold your nose up in a million dollars. Like, well, I would he do it. He probably just thinks he has a better chance of winning with Buffalo. Man.
Starting point is 00:22:17 Monty, do you have siblings? I do have two older brothers, much older, so 10 and 8 years older than me. And I do have a funny story. Are they protective of you or not really? Yeah, they're protective, but they're not crazy. I met her brothers. They are stand-up guys. They're very enjoyable.
Starting point is 00:22:33 Yeah, they're good people's. When I was like, I don't know, maybe 13, they were playing basketball and I would tag along. And one of my brothers, Gus, Gustavo, the middle brother, he's real, like, if you want to try to punk him, he's going to stand his ground. So he kind of got into a push and shove with the player. And the player punched him in the jaw and he went to the ground and was ejected. We didn't know, but he had a concussion. We had no idea. And he's like a jokester.
Starting point is 00:22:59 So we're in the car driving back home and he's like, who won the game? And we're like, oh, no, you guys lost three minutes later. Who won the game? And we thought it was a joke. Get home. He's asked us a million times thinking it's a joke. He cut his hair. This was around 2002.
Starting point is 00:23:12 There was a player from Brazil. The World Cup was going on. And a player from Brazil had like a little patch of hair. here at the top and he cut his hair in the garage. By the end of the night, we realized he had a concussion, and so we took him to the hospital. When he finally got all better, he was like, why did you let me cut my hair like this?
Starting point is 00:23:29 And we were like, we didn't know what you were doing. We had no idea you had a concussion. He should have done something productive like rob a bank. Yeah, no, he did not do that. And he had like a full head of hair, and then he had to just shave it all off. But we did not know he was going through a concussion. Oh, that's so sad.
Starting point is 00:23:48 and funny at the same time. I know, sad and funny. So Gustavo, who's your other brother? Juan Carlos. Oh, Gustavo and Juan Carlos. Gus and J.C. I can't wait to meet him. Yeah, they're a treat.
Starting point is 00:23:59 On Siblings Day, you know what I thought? I always thought that Clay Thompson and Trace Thompson didn't get enough credit for being brothers in two different sports. Like, I thought that was really cool because, I mean, Trace had his moments. He wasn't a big-time baseball superstar, but he had his moments. With the Dodgers. With the Dodgers. and, you know, Clay Thompson, obviously,
Starting point is 00:24:21 he's an NBA legend at this point, but I always thought that was kind of cool. I think we also need to mention the Williams sisters. Absolutely. And Peyton and Eli. Absolutely. And the most famous brothers, the Kelsey's. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:32 I mean, you know, you know the crazy part to put in perspective? You know how a lot of times, you know, life and kids and work and all the stuff takes over, you might not talk to your siblings or, you know, you might go weeks or months without really connecting. Do you know that Jason and. Travis said before they did that podcast, New Heights, they would go months and months and months without even communicating at all. And now, you know, they've used their brotherhood to sign a $100 million deal.
Starting point is 00:24:57 Yeah, not too shabby. Yeah, so there you go. Brothers, sisters, enjoy. Oh, and for the record, there's another Thompson, Michael Thompson, who also is a former basketball player. But Rich, you mentioned the Kelsey's. You think Travis is mad at Kanye today? You know, we were talking about that during the last break.
Starting point is 00:25:16 laughs at it or do you think he's mad about it? Kanye tweeted something ridiculous, didn't he? Like he still hasn't got his way with Taylor Swift or something like that. Of course, we don't give any credibility to anything he tweets. Well, but Kanye said, Kanye said I haven't done a Super Bowl halftime show for these three reasons. One, because I said George Bush doesn't like black people. Two, I took the mic from Taylor and three, I wore a MAGA hat. And I'm thinking, no, there's like 20 other reasons.
Starting point is 00:25:46 I can name like 20 other reasons you haven't done this. How about the merchandise you have on your website? It's like Nazi-esque. How about the Nazi stuff or all your other terrible antics? But Kanye put on social media that I'm mad. I haven't F. Taylor Swift yet. And I'm thinking like, do you look at him as a mental case? I am sick of this guy.
Starting point is 00:26:05 I'm saying, flush him away. But what's Travis is like when he sees it? Does he chuckle and laugh? Or is he like, no, that guy when I see Kanye, do you think Travis Kelsey is bothered or laughs at what a clown and embarrassing Kanye? I look at him. What a clown.
Starting point is 00:26:26 That's probably it. That's probably the answer. Well, with that said, more Kavino and Rich. We'll talk about David Robinson. And if you got thoughts, do you think Travis Kelsey's mad at Kanye West? And any other thoughts about Sibling Day? And like I said, there's David Robinson's story. I think will be a fun one.

Starting point is 00:28:16 Huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts around there. But this one's extra special.
Starting point is 00:28:31 So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band Before Jonas Brothers. This is how you guys remember it going down? Yes. I have a very different memory of this.
Starting point is 00:28:52 We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas. And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast. But thanks for remembering that, guys. Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Starting point is 00:29:12 Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, Not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smigel and Friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, S&L's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes.
Starting point is 00:29:34 Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Last night, a blown call changed the game. This morning, the internet lost its mind. Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened. That's where SportsSlice comes in. I'm Timbo.

We go straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear. From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial, calls, we break it down, give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered. SportsSlice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them.
Starting point is 00:30:24 Listen to SportsSlice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more, follow Timbo Slices Life 12 and the TikTok podcast network on TikTok. The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis. And I know firsthand because I competed there myself. I'm Renee Stubbs. And on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast, I'm breaking. breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris. Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on Clay.
Starting point is 00:30:52 Jenchen win. I mean, she went down in three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted. She's an outsider to win the French for me. And she likes Clay. Listen, Lerner Rabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now. And I actually can win on any surface. Because if she's serving, well, good luck. Consider this your court side seat to the French Open.
Starting point is 00:31:13 Listen to the Renee Stubbs Tennis Podcast on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Presented by Capital One, founding partner of IHeart Women's Sports. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
Starting point is 00:31:39 for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Two fun facts. A lot of people don't know this is a cover song from Slade, and a lot of people don't know that
Starting point is 00:32:02 Kevin Dubrow, Dubrow, Kevin, elite singer of Quiet Riot, his brother is Terry Dubrow, the doctor on botched. So the lead singer of Quiet Riot who died in early age, his brother is a TV star on Botch. So your wife definitely knows Terry from botched.
Starting point is 00:32:28 And the truth hit us up on Twitter saying the same thing at Covino and Rich. His siblings day, we are Covino and Rich. I got one more. I got one more to wrap it than a David Robinson story. Nothing's going to beat my brother thinking his uncle was his grandfather. I think your brother thinking, his whole life. I think your brother thinking little people worked inside red boxes, handing out DVDs. is the best one.
Starting point is 00:32:49 All right, what do you got? I think the best sibling story. Yeah. It's not a sibling story. It's, I don't think a lot of people know this. There's a third property brother. Oh, yeah, that's true. And it's Rich Davis.
Starting point is 00:33:01 It's me. Yeah, it's rich. You guys see the property brothers. Like, you know, the handsome, dorky white guys. Rich looks more like the third property brother than the actual third property brother. Picture the property brothers. The third property brother's an emo guy. Picture the third property brother with like a Goo Goo Goo Doll's Johnny Resnick hair
Starting point is 00:33:17 with tattoos and he's a rock dude. So there's a third property brother that's not suited up doing real estate. He's like emo, emo property, bro. He was at one point, you know. They're actually all really great guys and super talented, but there is a third property brother, and he looks nothing like the other two guys. People love, what is the story you always hear?
Starting point is 00:33:38 Well, you know, Eli and Peyton, who's really the brother who was the best of all and he got hurt and everything. That's the story you've heard for years. We'll never know how accurate that. is but don't they always talk about how the brother cooper manning was the most athletic of all three manning brothers that's the story and there you go he's got archmanning at texas now so what a family huh what a family is right hashtag national siblings day again you can see my siblings at steve covino at rich davis at danny g radio all of us at covino and rich we're live from the tyrac.com studio be sure to

So I don't want you guys to miss out on it.
Starting point is 00:34:41 Today we welcome Coach Ballgame. And we just talk youth sports. and how it's changed. And, you know, we'll talk to him about the coaching methods of today. Just a little reminiscing about where we all played sports. He's super famous online. So please check it out and join the live chat on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube in about 20 minutes. Now, this is David Robinson's story.
Starting point is 00:35:03 We could squeeze in here because I do think there's something here. They're in an event. And keep in mind, this is around the time of March Madness in the Final Four. San Antonio, which I think is an important part of the story. I think it takes place waiting online at the Alamo Dome, right? Yeah, outside with all the events. So that's why I think saying and letting it be known that it was in San Antonio is even more important. It's in San Antonio and David Robinson's there probably with a client or a sponsor doing something.
Starting point is 00:35:33 To be honest, I don't even think it matters what he's doing. He's there and there's fans there. Some dude in a non-pushy, from what I saw, not pushy, just sort of mosey's up to David Robinson. The Admiral with a white San Antonio Spurs David Robinson jersey. Number 50, right? Pretty sure. Hands him the jersey and has a sharping.
Starting point is 00:35:59 He's like, hey, do you mind signing this? And David Robinson gives him the, nah. And then the guy rudely just drops the jersey. Like, what if you then? It walks away. Like he dropped a mic. Like you have to pay attention to the video to see the jersey hit the ground. He just left it there in front of him.
Starting point is 00:36:15 And then David Robinson. Right at Robinson's feet. Then looks frustrated like, all right, jerk. Like, what's doing here? And you got to wonder, like, there's times, like you said yesterday, both things could be right. They could both be jerks. What was the jerkier move? David Robinson denying the autograph or this guy then just throwing it on the ground.
Starting point is 00:36:35 Like, were you that big of a fan or was this a money grab? If you're just going to throw the jersey there like that and be rude about it? Because I don't know. If you're a real fan, are you parting with that? jersey or yeah were you that let down there's so many ways to look at it but you're david robinson you're you're in san antonio no one's really bothering you so i think he could assign the autograph and not have been bothered even though he's hard to miss he's seven foot one so there's no way you're missing the admiral of this scene it's like when rich got dissed by cappernick it's true
Starting point is 00:37:05 we were in a vip section at an espn event where it wasn't like fans all around and i was like yo cap this is when he was a nineer I'm a niners guy I was like yo we take a quick picture and he gave me the nah and from that day on I was real buddy tummy with everybody else and I remember thinking like this guy's a jerk so you know it's a battle of
Starting point is 00:37:25 who's the bigger jerk in this situation because it became a somewhat viral clip it's not a good look for either party but especially David Robinson here's the difference nobody knows who that guy is but everybody knows who David Robinson is so it makes him look worse but is it
Starting point is 00:37:40 is it a weak move or not? Because you also have to think two other things from Robinson's standpoint. If I sign this, then it might be a whole bunch of other people bothering me photographs, right? And he's just chilling. And how does he know that this guy doesn't turn around and just try to make a profit off of it? It doesn't matter. It does matter a little bit. Like you really hate throwing some random dude of bone?
Starting point is 00:38:02 To me, you're David Robinson 100% you need to sign that jersey. You're in San Antonio. You're a legend there. Who cares of this doofus sells a jersey? Maybe he needs a couple hundred bucks. Guess who doesn't? David Robinson. No, because I'd rather sign it for a fan that would appreciate it
Starting point is 00:38:16 as opposed to some guy who just wants to turn around and sell it. I think the key here, it wasn't a bag of jerseys. It was just one. Remember that punked episode where Dirk was at dinner with a teammate? And they set him up and the kid kept coming up with different things for him to autograph. And he was so polite about it. But then the fake mom was like, you're not going to sign anything more for him. And he's like, I signed like 17 things for this kid.
Starting point is 00:38:38 That's so funny classic club. totally remember that. But hey, your thoughts about David Robinson, as we go to Moncey for an update. Hold on, hold on. We're going to tell the story. Didn't your mother-in-law meet David Robinson once, and he was nothing but a sweetheart? And it is siblings' day, but I was thinking to my mother-in-law, because my mother-in-law met
Starting point is 00:38:55 David Robinson at a church in San Antonio. He's at a church. And he was sweet. Oh, you think it's not just because people are church or good people. David Robinson was that my mother- was. You better be a good person while you're in church. She was at a church. David Robinson was there, and she was small talking with him. And then afterward, it was like, what do you do?
Starting point is 00:39:13 And I'm like, what do you do? He's 7-1. What do you think he does? Take a guess. He works at H-E-B. He drives a dune buggy. He works at Bucky's. It's David freaking Robinson.
Starting point is 00:39:23 And he's like, ma'am, I'm the center for the San Antonio Spurs. So I play professional basketball. So you always have to remember that sometimes the timing might be bad. You catch somebody at a bad moment. Not everyone's in a great mood all the time. I don't know. You hear like people running into Alec Baldwin on a plane or like he's like, like a jerk to some flight attendant and then they run into him at a coffee shop and he's a nice guy.
Starting point is 00:39:45 Yeah, you never know. That's pre-em. Pre-every-every-th. All right, let's go to Moncie for an update. Bolognaz. David Ravenson needs to sign the jersey or what? Yes. Yeah, I agree.
Starting point is 00:39:56 I agree with that. Yeah. No one else for my opinion. All right, guys. The Masters round one continues. Justin Rose has been in the lead all day. He is done. Still in the lead.
Starting point is 00:40:06 Seven under par overall, shooting a 65 on the day. Cory Conner, Scotty Sheffler are three shots back. They're done. Bryson DeCambo also three shots back. He's through 16 holes. Rory McElroy through 16 holes, 17 holes is even on the day. A lot of baseball day games, only one night game, but one game going on right now. Blue Jays, Red Sox tied a two apiece, bottom of the eighth inning.
Starting point is 00:40:30 The Angels crushed six homers by three players as they beat the raise 11 to one. The Guardians completed a three-game sweep of the White Sox. Sixth win was the final there. The Rockies out. scored the Brewer 7 to 2 and the Royals edge the twins 3 to 2. In men's college hoops, ESPN reports that high point coach Alan Huss is stepping down and will rejoin Greg McDermott's staff at Creighton where he will be named head coach in waiting. And lastly here, Penn State Defense and Abdul Carter's Medical Recheck in Indianapolis today showed that the stress reaction his foot is healing.
Starting point is 00:41:03 There's just been improvement. So no surgery is going to be needed according to his agent, potentially being the number one pick in the upcoming. NFL draft. Back to you guys. Thank you, Monty. And I want to give a shout out to our buddy, Rob Baker, who listens all the time in San Antonio. One of our supportive pals friends with my wife from back in the day, he said, that's not David Robinson at all. So he must have known that this guy is some autograph, hound, or jerk because David Robinson apparently in that community is known as like a good dude. Yeah, right? Like context matters. For all we know, Robinson knows that this dude is just
Starting point is 00:41:35 turning around and selling him. He's just looking for a quick buck or payday or this guy's a trash bag. We don't know. But maybe there's something leading up to that. For all we know, maybe that dude snag that jersey from a little kid. You know, you don't even know. You know, I feel bad that I judged David Robinson. Rob changed my mind. David Robinson's the
Starting point is 00:41:53 man. F this guy. All right, we got more, Kavino & Rich, next right here on Fox Sports Radio. Now, tires matter. They're the only part of your vehicle that touches the road. Now, a few reminders before you wrap up, tomorrow will be here like usual. But Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week, in for Dan Patrick. So wake up with us early in the morning
Starting point is 00:47:30 right here on Fox Sports Radio, the Dan Patrick show. And right after this show in 10 minutes, overpromised, Our bonus pot on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page with Coach Ballgame. Let's say hi to Todd. Wrap up the previous conversation. David Robinson, it appears as though some dude asking for an autograph and he was like, nah. And at first, like, is that rude of Robinson?
Starting point is 00:47:54 But the more details we're getting, because this is not a big story. The more you're investigating, David Robinson apparently is a great guy. It was set ahead of time like these autographs are not happening. It was his team USA jersey too, by the way. And it was a team USA jersey. So like, it appears. appears as though this could have just been some autograph hound that Robinson sniffed out. Let's say what's up to Todd.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Hey, Todd. All right. Yeah, what's up? Nate and Nick Diaz from the USC. Oh, that's a good one. Yeah. Love it. For sure.
Starting point is 00:48:33 How about the Charlo brothers in the world of boxing? What about the Klitchcos? Yeah, the Klitsch goes, man. They ruined the heavyweight division for a decade because they wouldn't fight each other. Laddy wants back at 48 for a title shot. That was the rumor for a minute. How about the Gassal brothers? Oh, there you go.
Starting point is 00:48:49 The Gassal Brothers definitely on there. Don't hate me for mentioning them because I feel like we need to nowadays. Jake and Logan Paul. No, I mean, that's a fantastic one. Who's a bigger name to you? Jake. I mean, Logan Paul is a wrestler. Just because of what he's been able to do.
Starting point is 00:49:08 I mean, he fought Mike Tyson. Logan Paul fought Floyd Mayweather Jr. It was nowhere near as big. I don't think. I mean, I think they're both hugely successful, good for them. I, you know, one's in the WWE, ones in the world of boxing, so they're both
Starting point is 00:49:23 doing great. Now, it's National Siblings Day. If you want to chime in with your answers and your stories again, you hit us up at Covino and Rich. You promised dire wolves, Rich. We're never going to get to this. Well, it is a big story. You talked about this yesterday, Rich. This is going to be like, all right, you may
Starting point is 00:49:39 how, what is it, Jimmy Kimmel would always be like, they have to bump Matt Damon? That's like the running joke. Are you one of those opposed to this, like you're mad about it or no? I'm not mad about it. You know, they made woolly mammoth mice. I don't know if that's true.
Starting point is 00:49:54 It is true. They were testing on these mice to see if they could create the woolly mammoth. The woolly mammoth or they're experimenting first, I guess. So they're like mice with tusks? No, they got the fur, though. Now it's like people want them. Like people want these dire wolves. Like Cesar Milan is like, I would like one of these dire wolves, for favor.
Starting point is 00:50:14 No, Ciswold did not say that. What Ciswong came out and said was, You know, remember the dog whisper? Caesar Milan? Yeah. Caesar Milan. He came out and said, there are so many people on social media
Starting point is 00:50:26 that are now saying dumb-ass stuff like, I want a dire wolf. And he's like, these are apex predators from 10,000 years ago. These are dogs. These are dogs. So let's not think we need these as pets.
Starting point is 00:50:38 And as we said yesterday, again, we didn't leave ourselves enough time. But Sam, we talked about how there are multiple movies that have warned us of what happens when we mess with God's creations and nature. Or actual real stories that when you allow another animal into somewhere it wasn't, it changes the ecosystem completely.
Starting point is 00:50:58 But I'm saying like you may say, well, they'll keep them contained. But what if they don't? What if they don't? Can I say something? I think that they went extinct 10,000 years ago probably because of humans. So I would think that like if they brought them back, they would have even less of a chance to thrive because there's 7 billion of us and there were certainly fewer of us back 10,000 years ago.
Starting point is 00:51:15 That's just my take. What would you want to see, though, if you had a dire wolf, the woolly mammoth dinosaur? What would you want to say? Definitely like the elephant related. Just me. Think about that. Probably to woolly mammoth.
