Here we go. It's hour two. It's a Wednesday. Live in Los Angeles, it's the herd wherever you may be and however you may be listening. Thanks for Megan S. Part of your day. How is reading this story, J-Mack? Sometimes you just got to give people credit for being a great businessman. So there's a story today. The Dallas Morning News had a reporter that discovered that Dallas has a couple of void years in Dak Prescott's contract. What does that mean? it means they can convert some of Dax's salary into a signing bonus. So instead of him being a $59 million cap hit, he'll be a $41 million cap hit, saves the Cowboys about $18, $19 million a year. But the truth of it is, if you read this story, Dak has really worked the Cowboys.

He has no franchise and no tag clause, so you can't tag him. He has a no trade clause. Very few guys in the league do. You can't trade him. Smart. Yeah, Dax's been a great businessman. I don't think people understand this. Jerry has been worked by Dack.

Dack has not delivered on what great quarterbacks do that make that money, and yet he's been paid like it. You can't trade him. He's got a no tag clause. You've got to give Dack, his agents, his representatives, massive kudos. I mean, they're not moving off Dax. So my takeaway, if you're not moving off Dack, and they're not going to,

first of all, it would be very hard to upgrade from DECD, DAC in the draft. The Cowboys have the 24th pick. So Michael Penix maybe, but that's not necessarily an upgrade. We don't know if Michael Pennix is a great pro. You can't upgrade with Dak with Kirk Cousins and Free Agency. He's five years older than Dak and some of the same red flags, limitations on the postseason. So DAC is hard to replace in the draft or free agency. So to me, the only solution to this is because he's got so many limitations, you can't tag him, you can't trade him, just get him more help. The first pick for the Cowboys should be offensive tackle.

They got to get a left tackle. It was a revolving door last year. Secondly, they have to get him another receiver because after C.D. Lamb, they have a very average offensive group. Ferguson's okay at Tide-in. He's not great. He's good. Serviceable, good. Good young guy, tough kid.

But you've got to go, I would go offensive tackle first round, wide receiver, second round. You can probably get a running back because Tony Pollard's a two, maybe a third. three, but right now golf has better weapons. Purdy's got better weapons. Jordan Love's got better weapons. Jalen Hertz has better weapons. Matt Stafford has better weapons. Seattle's got better weapons.

They don't have the quarterback. You can argue if C.D. lamb twists an ankle, Dallas has some of the worst weapons. I mean, Baker Mayfield. Godwin and Mike Evans has better weapons. So, I mean, DAC has

worked the Cowboys. You got to give him credit. Can't trade him. Can't tag him. So go get him help. Get the most you can get. If you have a car and you can't, you know, you have a house and you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, you can't, well, then you better upgrade it and make it a quality life. Spend some money on it and it's where you're going to live and where you're going to live in Dallas is with back. So help him out. Go get him pieces. Stop worrying about, you got your edge rusher. You got a corner you like. You got to Marcus Lawrence. Go get him weapons. I'd go tackle. receiver, couple picks later, running back, get another tight end. Dallas's weapons are not very good outside of C.D. Lamb. They're just not, purties are great. Goffs are excellent. Stafford. Jalen

Hertz, start looking up and down. Seattle's got good weapons. Arizona's going to end up with Marvin Harrison Jr. with that running back Connor, and they have a young tight end they like. So Arizona's going to have better weapons. Got to help back out. You're not moving off him. He's got too good of representatives. You can't move him. With that, James Jones, Super Bowl, champ, I know the Packers lost, but he's got to be feeling good about that. And as a Raider

broadcaster, what a day for you. My buddy, Tom Telesco's your gym. I was talking to Tom last night. He's all jacked up. You know, he asked, we were talking, I said, do you know Antonio Pierce? He said, I don't, and I said, I find him incredibly agreeable,

gets along with people, all about winning, we'll live at the facility, That's my interpretation of what Antonio Pierce is. Absolutely. And when we say players coach, he's truly a players coach. And in the National Football League, it's really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really hard to find coaches that keep it real with you.

Well, he was a grinder as a player. Absolutely. And that's what he is as a coach. So now you have a guy coming in there. We don't care if you're a superstar or not. This is how it is, all right? This is how it's going to be. I don't need no complaining about the ball.

Don't, you know, complaining about playing time. I don't, you know, complaining about, you know, what position you're playing on defense. This is how it's going to go. And I'm going to keep it real what you make plays. But Antonio Pierce has a Raiders coach, man, I mean, this is truly what the Raiders needed. I mean, the way he has that locker room, just talking to a lot of the players around, that play for the Raiders, man, the way he has that locker room, the way these dudes believe. They play the way down the stretch. You know, even this season, they feel like it just happened a little too late.

If Antonio Pierce got a hold of this thing a little bit earlier, they think it would have been a different, outcome. So I got to ask you, Harbaud of the Chargers is being discussed. I don't know if he keeps it real, but he keeps it winning. Yes, he does. Yes, he does. Now, does it matter that he is one everywhere, and he's going to be demanding. How much value does it matter that the coach walks in,

having just one a Natty, do the players like, you take step back, does that matter to players? Absolutely, right? You got a guy like Jim Harbaugh stepping into this building, and you know, as a player, everywhere he has been, he has won. Immediately. The National Football League, college football, high school football, it does not matter. Wherever he's been, whatever the roster may look like, he has won. Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, all those dudes, Austin Echler, in that Chargers locker room, they should be extremely excited. And Justin Herbert, with him walking in the building, he should have went out to dinner last night and he should have celebrated because I've seen him.

Jim Harbaugh turned Colin Kaepernick into a really good player. I seen him turn Alex Smith into a really good player. And we all know. Hey, Alex Smith, people thought was a bust. No question until he got in that building. And we all know they both do not have what Justin Herbert has. We can say whatever we want about Justin Herbert, not winning two-minute drill. He is that guy.

And if you get a dude like Jim Harbaugh in that building, and a lot of people want to say, do you believe in Herbert? I believe in him because he has won everywhere he has won. And I believe if he gets this job, the charges are going to win here too. So, you know, it's J-MAC struggling with this. I said, if you look at the numbers of San Francisco when Debo plays, since he arrived, first game, and when he doesn't, they're a field goal less. And we tend to think nobody's worth a field goal.

All the data points to, no, this guy is. And I think there's two things to think about with Debo. Lamar Jackson can lose a star. Mahomes can lose Tyree Kill. Brought Pertie losing a star as a different ball game. Way different. You know, you were with Aaron, Farr, they're overcomers. No question.

And so to me, I don't know if they can beat Detroit without Debo. I think Debo, now, Debo is not a classic receiver. He's kind of tight end, meets back, meets, how do you view him in his value? Debo is a playmaker, right? And it's crazy because before he got hurt, I'm watching that game. And right when he touched it, I'm like, tackle, tackle, tackle, tackle. Because I know Debo, the first person is not bringing them down. The second person is not bringing them down.

Debo is the ultimate playmaker. If it's anybody in the National Football League that you don't want to see with the football coming downhill, including running backs, receivers, titan, it's Debo Samuel. And when you're a quarterback and you have Debo Samuel and the way Cal Shanahan, uses him. It's so easy on a quarterback. Debo is catching these balls two, three yards behind the line of scrimmage. We talked about this. He's turning them into 20 yards. He's the ultimate out. Yes. You're having a bad day. You can't grip the football. No question. Get it out to Dibon. Just get it out of your hands to Debo and he is going to make you right. And then you're going to be looking up there.

It's going to be third and two and Cal Chanahan got 32 plays. He can call on third and two. And it's way easier on Brock Purdy. So when he's not out there, then you're like, okay, I cannot just check this ball down because you're not going to make every. everybody missed like Debo Samuels is. And then that's a mindset thing as a quarterback to where I got to take some of these chances down the field because I don't have Debo Samuels in there. And that is why I truly believe Brock Purdy struggles with him out because you cannot rely on that anymore. Now you've got to take some of these shots down the football field.

So it's interesting with Jordan Love. I feel he's much more far than Aaron. Aaron I always viewed as more of a precision quarterback. Farves a little bit of a playmaker. And I think Jordan falls into that. So Jordan kind of got beat. I defended him, although I'm in the minority, on that last interception. And my take is, okay, I saw Fav do that 15 times.

Yeah, me, you know, me both. Okay. So you can't ask Josh Allen, Mahomes, you know, the late Kobe, Brian, you're going to take some bad shots. No doubt. You can't ask these playmakers. I mean, Debo's going to fumble sometimes because he initiates so much contact. I thought love was great. Yep.

I thought for the moment, the weather, the last pick didn't bother me, although there's an argument that you're supposed to like, let's just get all four plays out. No question. As a Packer guy, how is it being discussed in Packer circles? How do you view that pick and the game? Well, number one, as I was watching the game after it was over, I truly took it as that's a young player trying to be the hero, right? You know, you got the Niners on the ropes.

You've been playing well all game long. The ball is in your hands to go to the NFC championship. And all year long, we have seen the arm talent that this young fellow has. He's made a couple of those throws this season. More than a couple. You know, so for him, it's like, boom, I've seen this before. I made this play week four. You know what I mean?

Boom, I'm going to do this again. You never do that. But as a young player, I truly feel in that moment, Jordan Love was trying to be the hero, you know, had the ball in this. hands and he made a bad throw and it got him here but through that game he made a lot of really good throws and he outplayed brock purdy all game no question so you know jordan love is going to be all right everybody keeps saying the future's bright in green bay which i absolutely hate because i'm like we had them boys and we should have won that game because when we lost or when we won in 2010

the super bowl everybody said the future's bright and i will be sitting here right now and i will tell you we're going back to 10 of these things and we have never seen one. So I hate when they say the future's bright because it is hard to get back to where the Packers just were. If you just take out just two players

in the last 30 years, take out Mahomes and take out Brady. Arguably the two best quarterbacks we've ever seen. If you take them out, every single run is shorter than you think.

No question. We thought the Seahawks, we thought that the thing was going to last a decade. They're the best players by far. Then Harbaugh arrives. Doesn't work. We thought Harbaugh was going to last forever.

Battled with the front office. We thought the Ravens, Lamar, all of a sudden, Lamar starts getting hurt. Buffalo's never gotten there. Burrow hurt again. Just take out Brady and Mahomes. It's hard. It always is shorter than you think. No question.

It is hard to get there. That's why when the future bright, I was angry after the game, too. The future's not bright. I know who we got over there, but it's hard to get back to these games. I've been in these situations. Well, you're a Green Bay team. Yeah. The next year, weren't you 15?

15 and 1 and lost in the first round at home to the Giants. So I'm like, I understand what everybody's saying. I'm extremely proud of the Packers. I'm extremely proud of Jordan Love. We have a bunch of young receivers who are dogs. They are ballers. All that is there. We have really good players on the defensive side of the ball.

Seven first rounders on the defensive side of ball. You just need the kids. get one more edge rusher. That's about it. Other than that, I like them. But every season is just so different. That's why I don't like the futures bright because one injury here, one injury there. You know, it's just every season is so different. And I know how hard it is to get back to the division around, to get back to an NFC championship. It's hard. And when you have an opportunity and you have a team on the ropes like the Packers did, you got to capitalize on that. So, you know, I don't even play no more, but this one's done. All right, four teams left. Baltimore,

KC, Detroit, San Francisco. And I said yesterday, I like all of them. I like their stories. I like the coaches. I like, they're all good kids. I mean, the NFL is so lucky. These guys are making tens of millions. Nobody gets in trouble. They're really good kids.

If I told you, you could have one win for some emotional reason or a person, who would it be? Lamar. I kind of feel the same way. Lamar. I feel the same way. I want Lamar to win so bad. I want Lamar to get a Super Bowl so bad. It means so much to him.

He cares so much. And not only that, like, he's been through so much, too. Like, go to receiver. You're not a quarterback. You know, you pick four quarterbacks in front of him in the draft. After he just won the Heisman and was clearly the best player in football. You know what I mean? He comes to the National Football League, wins a unanimous MVP,

and the first thing people want to say is he's not a passer. He's just a runner. Like, you know, so I just feel like the credit, Lamar never gets the credit and the praise. And I feel like this is one of those. moments to where if he can beat Patrick Ramon Holmes at home, whether he's running it, whether he's throwing it, whatever it is, he got his team to the Super Bowl, and if he gets there, he's going to have a really good chance to win it. And it always comes back to my mind when Dion was interviewing him at the Super Bowl. And he was like, you know, built with emotion and all

that, knowing that he was 30th pick or whatever it was. And he told Dion Sanders, they're going to get a Super Bowl out of me, you know, so I'm rooting for Lamar. I hope Lamar gets it done. But Patrick Mahomes is just a different dude man it's just something with him it just don't matter what he got who we got how he got it where he got to play boom he delivers we were talking and i agree with you totally i think Lamar it's hard for i've said this before i root for people who care deeply if i when i see athletes cry yeah and it just always hits me as you know i got kids if you like i never bothered me that the cc dominated college football because it mattered more yeah South. They wanted it. I live out West. We got pro teams. We got ski resorts. We got the beach.

It mattered more. No question. Southerners loved their college football. So it never bothered me. I thought it made the sport less interesting. Yeah. But I feel like Lamar cares so deeply. He gets so mad at himself. No question. Um, there's we were talking about this yesterday. And I said, there, they did somebody, Nick Wright said this a few days ago that years ago they tested Patrick Mahomes. And his heartbeat only changed when he was on the bench.

When he didn't have the ball against Buffalo, he got anxious. In the game, it came down. And I said, it is really strange that Peyton Manning, who's one of the greats ever, was kind of a teeth clencher. He got

up tight. Aaron sometimes can get pretty intense. Mahomes is historically unique. Jeter had this. It's like he's more relaxed in game seven. When you go back to Fav and Rogers, go back to some huddles in the biggest moments.

Is it like that with the greats? They're chill, or could you sense sometimes urgency in the voice of Aaron? Sometimes you could, but for the most part, Aaron was cool and calm too. I remember in the Super Bowl, we had got the ball back, Pittsburgh Steelers was kind of making a run and we got the ball back on kind of our on our last drive. And we needed to get some points.

I think we ended up getting a field goal. And we're starting that drive and Aaron cracks a joke like with somebody in, you know, somebody's in this. He's like, look it, man, cracking a joke with, you know, somebody that was a star, somebody in a stand. And he cracks a little joke like, man. And I'm in there like, man, like, you know, I'm ready to go. Like, you know what I mean? And he was just, he's just cool. He's just cool and calm.

And that was every situation. Even like Brett Farr, man, we are in Kansas City. It's a two-minute drill in Kansas City, right? We're in the huddle, and all of a sudden, we're in the huddle, and it just stinks really, really bad as we're in the huddle, right? And nobody wants to say nothing because this is real, like, this is game is on the line. That's two-minute drill, so everybody, like, focus. And he throws a bomb to Greg Jennings.

We score, and then we get in the locker room, and Brett was like, Did you all smell that? And we like, yeah, after we wanted like, yeah, he's like, I let one loose in that. Just like playing around or like, bro, like this is real moments right here. So them two dudes, even though Brett was a gunslager, them two dudes was all cool and calm. But I was talking to some of my buddies and I'm like, I have never seen Patrick Mahomes when the game is on the line not make the place. It's incredible. It, like, you can touch on some things to like Brett through a pick last.

last minute of the game. Aaron, you know, fumbled, whatever it may be. Brady had some bad moments. Patrick Mahomes, it's always somebody else. Catch fumble. Drop a touchdown. Like, it's never him like they lose the game because of him. Dude is special. It's fun to watch. I mean, that's why I'm scared for Lamar, even though Lamar has a team with the better defense. Clearly. Better playmakers around him. Run offense. Run offense is special. And, and. You act. the bank. Andrew's going to play. Marlon Humphrey may play. Dude, they're getting healthier. You're healthy. Everything says this should be a win for Lamar. And a comfortable win. And we all are sitting here scared

Mike Vrable, you don't hear much about Mike Vrable. Maybe the second best candidate.

Probably the second best candidate. You don't hear anything. I'm out Vike Vrable. Let me throw this at you. So I've always believed in patience. Like if you're unemployed, you're fired or let go, obviously some people have to pay bills. But if you've been fortunate that you've been, Mike Frable got rich as a player. he was a millionaire, and rich is a coach.

So he's got a player pension, a coach pension, and a lot of salary. Just think about this. If he just said, I'm going to broadcast for a year, and Mike would be a good broadcaster, good-looking guy, Alpha. Just think in one year. Because this year, there's only one quarterback, Justin Herbert. There's only one star quarterback that needs a coach, Justin Herbert. Washington doesn't have one, Atlanta, Tennessee.

There's one. In one year. I'm not going to name the coaches. I don't want to make it too personal. But in one year, is it possible these quarterbacks need a coach? Josh Allen, Jalen Hertz, Dak Prescott, Derek Carr, Trevor Lawrence, just those. In one year, it is reasonable that all five of those quarterbacks will, need a new coach. This year

there's one great quarterback that needs one. And you can only win in this league, as good as Brabel and Belichek are, you can't win without the dude. Think about in one year, McCarthy's on a hot seat. Sean McDermott, regardless of how much they support him, got out coached again.

Siriani, if he loses, you know Philadelphia is out. So, Josh Allen, Hertz, Derek Carr, Dak, to just just to name a couple That's good. I guess the only pushback is

those are going to be high-profile jobs. My guess would be the owner already has a guy in mind. No, wait, time out. Vrable is the second best candidate this year. Okay, so why is he interviewing anywhere? He's just saying no? Well, I think he's saying to himself, I've had the Tanna Hill level quarterback.

You can't win in this league. I've had home field advantage in a buy with Tannihill against Burrow. I couldn't beat him. So he's looking at the market and he's saying there's one great gig. And if he can't get it, sit for a year, do broadcast. I've said this before. When Sean Payton took, Sean and I would communicate as people were calling him.

When he stopped texting me back, I knew he was taking a job. He wanted the charger job they wouldn't pay. All right, they wouldn't go get him. They should have. They didn't. Okay. But when he took the Denver job, my takeaway was, well, he got the quarterback, but he's expensive. and I don't know if he works with that.

But Denver had a lot of things to change. Chargers really don't. Hit on some draft picks. They're going to be good. There's not another great job. Next year, you're going to have six minimum. If Dennis Allen doesn't win, he may not make it past Thanksgiving. McDermott, McCarthy, Siriani, Doug Peterson's on the hot seat.

What happened to that mess? I would just, again, that's certainly one way to look at it. I would go back and look at, what was it? with the Week 18 video from Brable before the game, where they asked him, you know, they were out of the playoff mix, and he's like, because losing sucks.

And he went on this, like, minute of a mini rant. Like, you're out of the playoff mix, and he's so damn competitive that he wants to win every freaking game. But he also, he's smart enough to know, you can't,

Belichick can't win in this league with a senior. You know how these guys have egos. I know. They can fix any quarterback. They can win any game. They can overcome anything, because they're that good. I'm still going to stick with my chiefs Vrabel thing

for it for a, By the way, I won't even mention this. Andy Reid retires. Now, it would be hard to see Andy leaving Mahomes in his prime. So let's just say that is a long shot. The other ones aren't even a long shot. McCarthy, I mean, Josh Allen and Dak and Siriani have to win early next year. I mean, if Buffalo, if Dallas started one and four, McCarthy's on the hot seat.

He could be out with a trade deadline. Like, believe me, Jerry may like him, but even, Jerry acknowledge he's coaching his last year. So we know that McVeigh's safe, LaFlewer's safe, Shanahan safe. We know the guys that are safe. Andy Reid's safe. There's about seven guys are safe. It's remarkable because we've said this year is a very good candidate year for coaches.

The full season body of work of Brock Purdy and the Niners, utterly dominant, were three quarters in the rain where they sputtered around and struggled big time as they head into the Lions matchup. Well, I take it all in.

It's not going to rain. Helps. They also won and played poorly. Helps. Those are the best kind of situations. So I can see them coming out and playing really well. Also, Detroit winning that playoff game, very emotional. Back-to-back wins.

You could see them letting down a little. I think you have a coaching edge with Shanahan. If Debo plays, the Niners are winning, and I think there is potential where they look great and they flex. but I also think of Debo doesn't play and Ben Johnson and Goff first quarter take a lead gets very interesting

get a little bit tight I just we know the narratives this is a week to week league and that applies in the playoffs right we would agree I think one of the most bet sides

He's significantly better what? Like, TEPA, you think he throws up better balls than your Brock Party? Oh, I think golf is an absolute, those one of the best balls in the league. So if we took a poll of 30 GMs, excluding the two that already have these two. They'd all take golf. All of them. Everyone would take golf. Every single one.

GM of the bill's Brandon Bean believes Diggs is still a number one receiver. He is. He's a number one receiver. You know, I firmly believe that. I'm not wavering off of that. We have to continue to put weapons out there to keep teams from bracketing him locking him down in different ways to take him away. He's super competitive.

He's going to work his tail off this offseason. And, you know, that's, I don't, I know there's various reasons or questions on this or there's production, all that. But I still see Steph as a number one receiver. We got to slow down on selling the bill stock. They've added Cook, Shakir, Stefan, Josh Allen. O-Line had their best year, I think, under McDermott. Kincaid was excellent.

Kincaid's fantastic. By the way, they overspent on Vaughn Miller. We all kind of thought it when they did it, and they've had injuries on the back end. Buffalo's the top four team in the league next year. They're top four team in the league. I got issues about Miami going forward. I got issues with a lot of people going forward.

I have no issues with Buffalo. Buffalo's going to be fine. When they repurposed the offense centered around Cook and the two tight ends, when Knox and Kincaid were healthy. Good tight ends. They were thriving and dominating. Diggs was putting up no numbers. I would say Diggs put him in Carolina next year.

I don't think he will be in Buffalo. I don't think you need him. Who needs that headache? Now, that's a legitimate, and I like Stefan Diggs. I think his time has come. Yeah. I don't think. A good wide receiver draft.

No, they have great tight ends. They found a star back. They have Josh Allen. The running game now is excellent. The tight ends are fantastic. I like, I mean, Kincaid's a star. So I think it's time, and it's a great wide receiver draft. I would make the argument for,

Buffalo, I would draft a receiver in the first round. I think that's a great call. I think that's a need. And I sometimes, just because you move off a coach or a player, it doesn't mean the player and the coach isn't good. There's just a time element. So I would move off dig. Can you trade him?

I mean, Houston has cap room to absorb it? They got a rookie quarterback. So he's a free agent? Is Stefan? What's his contract? I don't have that in front of me. But bottom line is, I don't think you need him in Buffalo next year. I'm the same way and I like him.

I think that their running game has been supplanted with good players. They upgrade it tight end. I think you can let him go, go get cheap there. Because the Josh numbers aren't going backwards. Like Josh is more expensive now going forward. Final story. Following the Packers' loss to the Niners, Matt LaFleur was noncommittal when asked about D.C. Joe Barry's future with the team.

Now, NFL Network's Tom Pellasar reports, Barry is done. He will not be back next season to coach the Packers' defense. The defects was good against the Niners Pretty good against the Cowboys They gave up a lot of garbage time stuff late But the body of work for the season was abhorrent I mean this is unacceptable

Devonte's got opinion. It's okay for players to have an opinion. I'm okay with it. Final story? There's some guys. I don't think you really know them that well. Who are in the mix for the Packers' DC job? Who?

Who? Who? Who? Who? Householding. Chris Harris from the Titans. But bottom mind, if they can find a defense, Colin, with your guy, Jordan Love running the offense, you love LaFleur. Why can't they be a 12-win team next year?

They will be a 12-win team. Well, not if the defense don't improve. No, no, they'll be a 12-win team. I've already done next year standings. I'm all set. Wait, wait. Are you the Packers in the Super Bowl? I have the Packers winning the division next year.

The 2024 NASCAR season drops the green flag next month with the clash at the Coliseum. And on February 18th, it's the most iconic day in all of motorsports as the great American race returns. The Daytona 500 only on Fox. So there is a story, J-Mack just said. Leader in the clubhouse for the Seahawks job is Dan Quinn. Seahawk fans are cool on that. and potential leader in the clubhouse for his offensive coordinator would be Chip Kelly, UCLA's coach.

I can tell you, UCLA football is in a weird space. The move to the Big Ten is crucial because Big Ten fans will come out to Southern California, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Nebraska. They'll fill the stadium because UCLA fans don't, but they don't really have a collective in the NIL. Chip's fighting uphill. there's not a lot of money. They've lost some really good players in the portal.

So that's a very interesting. You wouldn't think somebody would leave a head coaching job for a offensive coordinator in the NFL. NFL pensions are great. Chips moved his entire career. I just saw he and his wife at my birthday party a couple of weeks ago. And he was noncommittal on certain things when I asked. I shouldn't be asking him at my birthday party. But I think there's a reality about UCLA football.

People don't understand outside of it. is that they don't they can't compete in the NIL world. They just can't. They're not to basketball school. They don't have the money to go get the best players. And I think there's a frustration inside the program. And there's been a lot of pressure on him to win. And the truth is they just crushed USC.

They've beaten LSU. They've won some big games. And I think that, and I've said this before, I think UCLA is unrealistic on what they really are as a football program going forward. The big 10 is great for them because they want. now fill a stadium with these hearty and local and loyal, well-traveled Big Ten fans, but this does not surprise me at all. UCLA has never quite understood what they have with Kelly, like one of the smartest guys out there. Go ask Lincoln Riley in that last time they faced

what he thinks. Pretty smart guy. Okay, so it's time to do the much anticipated face bracket, which was a disaster when I first started it at Fox. It's gotten a little better. So for the wild card round, I went 3 and 0 in the AFC and 0 in the NFC, so I was 3 and 3 in 3. Last week, again, I went undefeated in the AFC, 2 and 0, 1 in the NFC. So I am 6 and 4, I'm 5 and 0 in the AFC, where I pick the game just based on who's the better quarterback. So it did me well with C.J. Stroud, Josh Allen, Mahomes. Last week, Lamar and Mahomes. Remember, I like Buffalo last.

week, but my face bracket, I took Mahomes the better quarterback. So in the face bracket, I won. So here are my picks this week in the AFC championship. I think Baltimore is the better team and could clobber them, but I can't deny that Patrick Mahomes is the better quarterback. So in my face bracket, where we pick solely on who the better quarterback is, because it is a quarterback league, I'll take Mahomes. I have yet to lose in the AFC.

I am 5 and 0 in the AFC. In the NFC, golf and purdy, well, I would take golf over. Joe Montana. So obviously, I'm going to take Jared Goff, so I have got Mahomes and Jared Goff. Even, well, I'll just leave it at that. So the face bracket, it did not go well when I started, but eventually you just take the best quarterback. And so far, I'm six and four. I took Jordan and Love over Brock Purdy, and you all kind of winced should have won for the record. That was the only game last week I lost. I took Lamar over CJ, Mahomes over Allen, golf over Baker.

I took Jordan over Purdy, and they outplayed him. So I could have gone four and oh last week. Could or should have woulda. The last time Jared Goff played an outdoor game was in Chicago, December 10th. That's a bit outdoors. Yeah, in Chicago. Right, I know. It's not going to be blustery in Sanfrania.
