Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an I-Heart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Starting point is 00:00:23 Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque.
Starting point is 00:00:42 Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. On the Look Back at it podcast. For 1979, that was a big moment for me.
Starting point is 00:01:08 84 was big to me. I'm Sam J. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it. With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s. 84 was a wild year. It was a wild year.
Starting point is 00:01:25 I don't think there's a more important year for black people. Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Thanks for listening to The Heard podcast. Be sure to catch us live every weekday on Fox Sports Radio in noon to 3 Eastern, 9 a.m. to noon Pacific. And if you do dig our show, the worldwide leaders of nonsense, Covino and Rich, check our podcast. We got a few of them. We got our best of Danny G. puts up every day. Covino and Riches search it. Starting point is 00:03:31 you stream your podcast. And we have a bonus podcast called Overpromised. And we did a brand new one yesterday, Rich. You could see what you hear. It's on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page. Search Overpromised with Covino and Rich. But before we talk, Aaron Rogers and more nonsense, the worst fan bases. There's this AI story in the news.
Starting point is 00:03:54 We're wrapping up old school when 50 hits. When 50 hits on the clock, we reminisce on a Thursday. We throw it back. and there was this meme of scrambled porn. You guys know exactly what we're talking about. And it says, your dad and I are leaving for dinner. 14-year-old you, five seconds later was trying to watch some dirty movies. And I brought up the classic.
Starting point is 00:04:17 You'd be at a friend's house and their parents would be like, hey, we're going into our bowling night. The minute the parents love for the bowling night, you'd tap into the liquor cabinet. And you know what you would do? You would replace the booze with water or apple juice or something. and then they would find out years later. Do you know how many parents of my friends when we were in college or something
Starting point is 00:04:37 would jokingly hit us up? Like, you kids, we tapped into the vodka that we hadn't touched in a while and realized it was water. You kids. By the way, you tapped into something else that we need to remind people of. Well, first to call and share your story, 818907-0662, 818907-0662 at Covino & Rich at Fox Sports Radio, tag Kavino is the man. I don't think that's good.
Starting point is 00:05:03 Hashtag Kavino rules. It's not only when your parents left, right? Because some of you may have been so fearful of your parents. You didn't do anything. A lot of times it's when your buddy's parents left. What did you do at their house? So when the parents were gone, it doesn't have to be your parents. A lot of times it was your buddy's parents and you just went buck wild.
Starting point is 00:05:24 So we have other examples. I have two. All right. I have two things now that I'm thinking about it if you want to go old school. And we'll take your feedback and then, like I said, I have a really interesting Aaron Rogers hypothetical on deck. We're going to talk some Jets, NFL, but also Aaron Rogers? The politician? We'll get to that.
Starting point is 00:05:42 And of course, some NFL fan rankings. Who has the worst fans? But right now we're going old school. I got two for you, Kov. I remember back in the day. Ryan, you probably remember this. You're a little younger than us, but before the days of easy Internet access. and before the days of smartphones,
Starting point is 00:06:01 I remember we would be at a friend's house and we would call like dirty phone numbers. Dude, I can't believe you said that. You ordered that, really? Look, parties at friends order sex lines. I remember you would call like, 1-800-something, and your friend would be like, hang up the phone, and their parents would get a phone bill charged.
Starting point is 00:06:22 Like, what did you call here, Johnny? We would do that just to mess with our friends. You know what I mean? Because you wouldn't do that at your own house. Remember that day and gee? People would pick up the phone and call some dirty number? Oh, not just that, but we would do jerky boys style, all the crank calls, the prank calls. From other parents' houses when they were gone.
Starting point is 00:06:38 I remember calling bowling alleys and being like, hey, do you guys have 10-pound balls? And of course they'd say, oh, of course, I'd be like, well, how do you walk? I was never that kid to disrespect my parents' house in this particular way, because I didn't want my parents has to be ruined. But, man, yeah, if your parents, if your buddy's parents were away, and they were throwing parties, it would be so wild the things that would go on. It's like the movie's 16 candles, you know, it's just, if you remember the John Hughes classic,
Starting point is 00:07:06 just total mayhem at these parties when the parents were gone. I got some other examples, Rich. Here's what I would do that. I would do this. I didn't do a lot of parties, but you know if your parents were gone, your living room turned into a full-on wiffle ball field. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Like, you were definitely breaking something. I wrote that down as well. Oh, you're having a home run dirty contest in the living room. See, we're all the same kids. Yeah, living room sports because what did your mom always say? Yeah. No throwing the ball around in the house. Yeah, forget about it.
Starting point is 00:07:33 Remember the old school Nerf basketball hoops that you had over the doorway? You know those cheap ones? Of course. We were having full on slam dunk competitions falling into the wall. You were Dominique Wilkins. Yeah, your head went through the wall because you were going so wild playing a game of 21 in the living room that your parents came home and were like, what were you doing? So that definitely went on because you weren't able to throw the ball.
Starting point is 00:07:56 ball around. I have, of course, because it's me, I have one smutty one and one regular one. Does this involve your dad's collection? I knew it. Let's say you knew where your dad hid his adult stuff? The big puffy case. His art? Yeah, my dad hit his art. You know, those VHSs. It was either a Disney film or something really bad. Yeah, for some reason, it was like Disney or Smut came in puffy VHS cases. I remember being like, what his dad got here, but then what you had to do, you had to make sure you rewound it. Had to.
Starting point is 00:08:31 To the spot where he had the video. Which is really gross when you think about it. Yeah, when you think about you, like, whoa, this is where dad left off. Oh, boy. The second one, less dirty. Sorry, heard audience. You ever get caught doing that? Sorry, Colin.
Starting point is 00:08:43 You ever get caught, though? No, but I did get caught. I blamed it on my friend Phil. My mom found all my, what she thought were Sports Illustrated and WWF wrestling magazines. and I'm like, I used to take the covers of Sports Illustrated and WWF magazines put them on nudie magazines. And a lot of people also would disguise their stash of VHS smut and label it like Chicago Bears 85.
Starting point is 00:09:12 I had Bears 49ers MNF, Monday Night Football. No one mom would never watch that. That was HBO's Bikini Car Wash Company. I got one more that's not dirty, so it's not just all. smud here at CNN. Well, this all started from the scrambled porn media. I mean, hey, we're reminiscing. When you were a kid and your parents left, what did you do?
Starting point is 00:09:32 Danny, you guys said living room sports became a thing? Yeah. You're playing wiffleball. You're throwing around the football in the house. You know, slam dunking on the little mini basketball. You're jumping on the couches. This happened not only in my house. You're not jumping off the couch.
Starting point is 00:09:48 You're dropping big legs off the couch. Oh, yeah, yeah. This happened not only in my neighbor's house. You're putting your siblings in wrestling moves. This happened at my house, too. So we're talking two kids in the neighborhood have the same story where I grew up. We're playing football when parents aren't around in the house. Holes in the sheetrock.
Starting point is 00:10:06 The legendary story goes, we made a hole in the basement wall of my house, like a finished basement. And no joke. In the shape of your brother's head. The second shout out he's getting today, I mentioned Mookie Wilson before. For a decade of my life, there was a Mookie Wilson poster over a hole in a little. the wall my parents didn't know about. When they sold their house, they're like, there's a hole in the wall. Is the real story
Starting point is 00:10:31 you were trying to escape? I was trying to escape like Shawshank style. And that's what you had? Richie, isn't that bad here? No, no, Mom, I'm not trying to dig out like Andy Dufreina. We just put my brother Jimmy's head through the wall and we were like, oh no, and it was that wood paneling. So it was like a cracked wood paneling. We're like, what do we do? Mom and Dad are going to come home. I took a Moogie Wilson poster. Boom. Right over the hall on the wall.
Starting point is 00:10:55 and yeah you know what because your your mom would be well my mom would always complain about the same things wipe your feet before you come in the house in or out don't use all the paper towels then your mom would get mad when you would pee in the toilet after she put the comet in right oh yeah yeah yeah it was like um i don't know it was like it's fun anytime my mom was sweeping it's like my feet were would gravitate right toward the pile i get it my kids do that now so yeah just this is how you were when you were kids but they would also say like no no roughhousing things like that and the second
Starting point is 00:11:29 they would leave that's when you would start this stuff you'd roughhouse I have a few more examples rich and again your feedback at Covino and Rich and the number just for the hell of it just for the smell of it 818-907 0-0662 Covino and Rich in for Colin Colin well you got to say that number one more time slow
Starting point is 00:11:45 818 907 0-062 call now so I remember listening to a lot of questionable lyrics. If I was listening to some old school NWA, I didn't have to lower it playing
Starting point is 00:12:01 automobile, or I'd rather F with you, or even some old school rock songs, you know, like, I didn't have to lower it because my parents would hear. Didn't you say your dad once walked in your room when you were listening to like old school hip-hop? I remember what it was. When it wasn't actually old school at the time, it was actually just hip-hop.
Starting point is 00:12:16 And I looked at him, I said, I want to rock. And I threw him out the window, Rich, like Twisted Sister. No, no, no, I remember what it was. And my dad, you got to realize, my Dad never reprimanded me. That's why it stands out, and that's why I am the way I am. No one really ever reprimanded me. I just respected my parents.
Starting point is 00:12:33 My dad came busting the room. He was like, hey, this is the crap you're listening to, man. And I was listening to Cypress Hill. How I could just kill him, man. Hey, you're going to kill a man. This is what you're into. It's good killing people. I swear to go.
Starting point is 00:12:48 I'll never forget it. What you got, Ryan? In the same vein of turning the inside of the house into just total mayhem and chaos. in the outside, when the parents were gone, pool tricks, backflips, all the stuff like that. Because they're always like, okay, you can jump in the pool, you could swim in the pool, or you'd find the one spot on the house that was just a roof or tree. Yeah, exactly, 100%. As soon as they were gone, it's like, all right, boost me up.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Let's see, how high can we go? I had a pool, and my friends, like, let's say my parents were there, they were climbing like the pine tree jumping. I'm like, yo, guys, I would be worried about it. But you're so funny you say that because, again, it's not only if your parents left, your buddy's parents left, or if you knew that, dude, if we knew in my neighborhood, I grew up in Union, New Jersey, a bunch of hooligans, right? If we knew our buddy's parents were away or that kid was away, we would pool hop. We would, yo, that means we're using their pool this weekend. We would do that.
Starting point is 00:13:46 So pool hopping, and I think I had one more I wanted to share with you. Rich, did you ever do this? You're a deviant, so I think you did. You ever bring a girl into your parents' bedroom just like to switch it up? Really? I never did that once and I remember my sister walking it on me. What? Oh no.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Hey, get out of here. I remember being so awkward, but again, the things you would do when your parents were around. You were brave. I guess. I don't know. Damn. You know, we got a lot of phones coming in right now, so I thought it would be hot in Ben Franklin's bed. My parents have like an old school Ben Franklin bed.
Starting point is 00:14:23 Yeah. I think, Rich, you covered the smut. How about violence? My stepdad had weapons in a special closet that we were not allowed to touch. It was his hunting rifles. Oh, damn, I know. He had a pellet gun, a BB gun. He had a crossbow with arrows in there.
Starting point is 00:14:41 Do you see, Daryl Dixon? I thought he was. Shoutouts Rialto, California, because it turned out to be grimy and overpopulated in that city. But when we were there across the street, there were still some big trees and some swamp land left, he would go across the street and shoot his bow and arrow. He thought he was an outdoorsman. He was not. Right. But when he would leave, or he'd leave with my mom to go to Costco for five hours,
Starting point is 00:15:07 wherever they went, my older brother would go into that closet. He never touched the real ammo, but he would grab the BB gun, the pellet gun, go to the backyard and start shooting, you know, pellets. So you're trying to get birds. He thought you were so scared of him that you guys would never. touch it. Exactly. But you would dip in there and mess with his numchucks. You just unlocked a memory. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:15:30 You just unlocked a memory. And I'll share one more. I don't want to bore you and then we'll take some of your feedback. You played with your dad's samurai sword. Oh, his Babe Ruth's baseball? Yeah. Then it went over the fence and some dog. Yeah. Oh, man. No, this one time I knocked over a statue and the junk fell off. Oh, really? No, wait, that was goonies.
Starting point is 00:15:46 And then they included it upside? That was not my life. No, but you unlocked a memory and I don't know why this is so funny to me. because I wasn't doing anything really scandalous. I was in, like, junior high. And you know when you had your free study hall or lunch period? Like, I guess if you were a junior or senior, some high schools you were allowed to leave campus.
Starting point is 00:16:06 You were allowed. So I think I was a junior. I left campus and my girlfriend at the time. My high school girlfriend was homesick. And she's like, if you want to stop by. And I was trying to be the nice high school boyfriend. Like, I'll bring you medicine or something. I went to her house.
Starting point is 00:16:21 Medicine. Yeah, I got the medicine. I got the internet So I go I'll stop by And I was like I'll bring you bagel And a juice or something
Starting point is 00:16:29 I was trying to be a nice kid She's like My parents are both at work So this is a school day As a dad This story bothers me I have a daughter I know
Starting point is 00:16:39 It bothers me too So I go to bring her Like a juice and a bagel And we're in her basement She's got like the TV on Under a blanket She's like not feeling 100% All of a sudden
Starting point is 00:16:51 I hear like footsteps and something upstairs. It's like her dad randomly stopped home during his lunch hour to be like, honey, are you okay? I brought your chicken soup. So I immediately hide in the basement closet and I had a sit in this closet
Starting point is 00:17:08 for her dad's hour lunch break. Sounds like a movie. Multiple times I was like, I'm going to give myself up. And I was like, let me just wait it out, two more minutes. And I waited out. I got in trouble at school because I missed a period at school but I was like, I can't leave this. Clark Kelly wrote a song about that.
Starting point is 00:17:25 I know. All right. You know what? Who do we got to the phone? I don't think we have the call screen in here. Who's on line 2? We'll start with line 2. Again, 818 907-0062 Kavino and Rich in for the herd. Danny in Oregon, what's up, man?
Starting point is 00:17:42 Hello? What's up, bud? Hey, I got a couple stories for you. I'll just go with the one that's off the top of my head, but if you want to me to divulge more, I'm free. So the best one was
Starting point is 00:17:56 I was up in high school. And I've, they're just really good looking church, girl at church. They go to the same high school. But all of her sisters, she was probably the cutest of them all. She ends up throwing a party with her,
Starting point is 00:18:09 with her family gone. And at the end of the party, gets to the end of it, everybody leaves, I stay. And, you know, things happen on the table. I'm not going to get into details, but her aunt, the mom, she wasn't answering her phone.
Starting point is 00:18:28 The mom calls her sister to check on her daughter. The aunt comes home, finds us in the moment. And I get sent outside to think about what I just did, get brought back in. She ended up being really cool about it. But that was probably one of the, I guess, the juiciest moment. Yeah, you know what this is a reminder of, you know, Danny, I like your story. but I'm hating this conversation more and more because as I am thinking about it, you and I both have kids and daughters. And houses.
Starting point is 00:18:57 And houses. I have a house. I'm a daughter. Yeah. And I have a son. And I'm like, oh, man. You know, my wife brought up a good point. And it's awesome and a bummer at the same time.
Starting point is 00:19:08 And what that is, is that with ring doorbells and all the technology we have now, listen, it's great because your kids aren't going to be pulling too many shenanigans. Like, if you go out for a dinner, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, an ass print on my coffee table. Yeah. Are those cheeks on the island? Whose ass was on my table? But the reality is you were able to do whatever you wanted. Sneaking in your girlfriend's window or like, oh, no one's home.
Starting point is 00:19:31 Right now, three times already since we've been here, my ring doorbell went off. My wife dropped the kids off at school. It's Amazon. I saw her coming back with a coffee cup. My wife went to storebooks. Amazon again. It takes away the thrill for a kid. But you know what?
Starting point is 00:19:45 As a parent, I'm okay. Yeah, I keep them on the level. Absolutely. One more call from Ryan in Wisconsin. What's up, man? Hey, guys. Hey. So, you know, I grew up in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and, you know, there's snow on the ground basically eight months out of the year. And me and my buddy were big baseball fan. So we would start Jones in a little bit. So middle of winter, my parents go out of town, we would break out the wiffle ball and the whiffle bat. And we'd have to, now mind you, we had to hit left-handed because of the way the hallway was set up. So we'd be pitching down the hallway and just trying to whack that wiffle ball as far as we could. We had markers for double, home run to the other side, all that sort of stuff. And then sure enough, you know, my mom's one of those knick-knack people. So I go and smack off the knick-knacks.
Starting point is 00:20:25 They hit the floor. They just scatter all over the place. And I ever so gently restacked those buggers just perfectly. No glue. No glue because I'm not that smart of a kid, of course. And, you know, about a month or two later, as she's dusting, she grabs the head of one of them. And it just comes off, of course. What did you do, Mom?
Starting point is 00:20:44 My precious moments. Your mom. My Norman Rockwells. Oh, no. Oh, that's great. That was a Brady Bunch episode. Yeah, I love the hallway whiffleball memories, though, because I've definitely done that too.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Again, if you just joined us, we're wrapping it up. It's old school and 50 hits. We do this every Thursday. We throw it back. Based on a meme, it's the things you would do when your parents or when the parents were away. Yeah, when your parents left for the night or dinner or bowling night. Yeah, the drinking and shenanigans and sneaking in and indoor sports.
Starting point is 00:21:13 Or you turned into Greg Luganis doing flippy dips at the pool. I love that one. That was a good one. Your pool tricks. Dude, I agree with you 100%. If someone was out of town and they had a pool, you were not a good kid. You would go on the pan.
Starting point is 00:21:28 No. You would try. Well, thank you for the feedback, everybody. We got more Kavino and Rich in for the herd. Now coming up, we got Ryan's herd line news. And in Aaron Rogers, deep thought hypothetical, it has to do with the Jets and politics? All next right here.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Fox Sports Radio. Be sure to catch live editions of the herd. Weekdays at noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
Starting point is 00:22:03 embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth. Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:22:23 Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football, or my career in sports media. Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined. And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show.

Starting point is 00:23:32 Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far, far away, such as the biology of tauntons and wampas on the ice planet hot, or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith Rule of Two. Listen to Stuff to Blow Your Mind on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, hey, welcome back. Steve Kavino, Rich Davis, C&R,

Starting point is 00:24:27 he did rob who wants kamikaze shots i was like wow how two thousand is rob parker i love it no i was going to say that if someone says because i know when we filled in for colin today we're like sweet an honor always love filling in for colin on the herd but we said you know also a good opportunity what if we make some new friends so if you are listening on the herd

Starting point is 00:25:06 Search Covino and Rich wherever you stream your podcast. But details on our event are at Covino and Rich at Fox Sports Radio on social media. Again, I'm Steve Covino. That's Rich Davis. And if you just joined us, you missed us talking about some of the moves, Rich compares some of the NFL moves to Love is Blind, the Love is Blind reunion. We talked about Mike Tyson and Jake Paul and Rich. I just saw a story right now that might tie back to that.
Starting point is 00:25:27 So before we talk about Aaron Rogers, just listen to me, hear me out real quick. We're talking about how Tyson doesn't have a chance, really, unless he gets him early in the fight, if it's legit. But I just saw this from Shaquille O'Neal. Shaquille O'Neal said something interesting on the Big Pod. He said, I've heard players say,
Starting point is 00:25:51 include to myself, I feared Mike. Meaning Michael Jordan. I've never really heard any players say they fear LeBron. I've never heard anybody say it. Yeah. We have to remember the intimidation factor
Starting point is 00:26:08 of Mike Tyson. Remember what he said? Yeah. It's still Mike Tyson. I would know just looking in his eye that the fight was over that I already won. I knew I won in the stare down. If Jake Paul could get past that intimidation factor, he's got an edge. But we have to give that edge to Mike Tyson.
Starting point is 00:26:27 There's something to be said about it. You got Shaquille O'Neill admitting today that he and his peers feared Michael Jordan. People don't fear, in his opinion, LeBron James. I know Danny G. doesn't like to hear that as a Lakers fan. He's saying that's the difference. But, you know what? The intimidation factor, you know how scary is going to be to see Mike Tyson? I think...
Starting point is 00:26:50 I think the only thing about that, because I agree. Mike Tyson. Might be the most intimidating guy ever. But the fact that he now has this new, like, I'm not that guy. Like, I hop boxing, smoking weed. I'm a chill. Now I'm playful, Mike Tyson. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:05 But you know, he could switch on a dime. What do you mean by that? What do you mean? He gets a little weird. I think if we see a glimpse in between now and July, if we see one or two glimpses in an interview or a podcast where he appears to be like crazy, Mike Tyson? That's going to be a good thing.
Starting point is 00:27:21 I saw a glimpse. Just this week there was a clip where some reporter was like, well, Mike, you got this fight coming up. And how do you explain all the ups and downs? Like, what do you mean by that? Like, what do you mean ups and downs? Like, that's his life. We're all going, we're just all going through it.
Starting point is 00:27:34 And you saw everybody has ups and down. So you saw him snap a little bit? And I was like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Because you want that intimidation factor that a Michael Jordan gave to his competition. And if Tyson could bring that into the ring, yeah, that's scary for a guy like Jake Paul. So that's another edge. And, you know, speaking of Jordan, I've heard we're filling in for Colin. I heard him the other day talk about how, you know, some people are just intimidating legends that, like, let's be honest, Jordan's wizard days, we're not good.
Starting point is 00:28:07 But there was still an intimidation factor because he was my mind. Michael Jordan. So even when he wasn't playing great, it was still like, my God, it's Michael Jordan. Dude, Shaq feared Michael Jordan. That's amazing, right? And speaking to Shaq, he's now hosting a segment every Tuesday. It's actually, what do we call it? Shack Diesel basketball trivia. Wack Diesel. Yeah, Wack Diesel comes in and host some trivia for prizes. So join us on Tuesday's Cabino and Rich. But Aaron Rogers in the news. Yeah, you know, Aaron Rogers in the news, not only because all these moves in the NFL, free agent signings, quarterbacks moving, big players, changing cities and teams.
Starting point is 00:28:45 I think we got to remember that Aaron Rogers, that was a grand opening, grand closing. Four plays done. There's another storyline where, you know, Kirk Cousins, Atlanta, Derek Henry now running the ball alongside Lamar Jackson. There's all these cool thoughts. Like, you know, Sequin, we're in that Philadelphia green.
Starting point is 00:29:06 but Aaron Rogers is going to play football again. But the question is this. Or is he? Based on all the speculation of RFK Jr. Third party candidate. And by the way, who knows how that's going to mix up the election, right? The takeaway votes from Biden or to Trump or both or neither. Forget the politic part of it.
Starting point is 00:29:30 If Aaron Rogers is, if they're saying he is RFK's VP on the short list of possibilities. Well, hold on. With all the moves this week in the NFL and all the Love is Blind Talk, some people may have missed it. I don't know. But Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the story was that he had asked
Starting point is 00:29:50 not only Aaron Rogers, but Jesse the Body Ventura, to run with him in some sort of capacity and to one of them be their VP and apparently both showed interest. Now, here's the interesting thought. You could say, that's absurd. But might I remind you, I'm going to give you some names, ready? Donald Trump.
Starting point is 00:30:12 Arnold Schwarzenegger. Ronald Reagan. Steve Garvey running for office, right? Yeah, in California. Clay Aiken ran for office. Clint Eastwood was the mayor of what? Carmel? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:23 Bill Bradley. Manny Pac-Man Pac-Man Pacquiel. It's not new for celebrities and athletes of people. Jesse the body. You just said it. Jesse the body. conspiracies. Now, it's not crazy to think that someone in the
Starting point is 00:30:38 public eye in the world of sports and entertainment and music enters the world. Steph Curry announced this week that he'd be interested in running for president for meaningful change. They asked him, he said, yeah, he would be interested. Sonny Bono, remember back in the day? I do. So, Donald Reagan? The president? The actor? The actor? I look at it this one. If I give you this hypothetical,
Starting point is 00:31:00 the answer might sound ridiculous. But if I said, what is a more likely outcome. Aaron Rogers winning a Super Bowl for the New York Jets or Aaron Rogers becoming vice president of the United States. I think this is such an easy answer. I really do. No, no. Let me say
Starting point is 00:31:20 one more thing. I didn't say now. I'm just giving the general broad question because he has a one to two year window with the Jets. Maybe you get two years out of A-Rod. Aaron Rogers. Maybe you get
Starting point is 00:31:36 two years out of Aaron Rogers, right? So if you get two years out of him, the Jets going to win a Super Bowl in the next two years? I mean, two years is generous, and I know that's probably his goal. Yeah. But again, he's coming off an injury. We don't know what he has. And he's 40, dude. Yeah, going to be
Starting point is 00:31:52 41. Yeah. So keep that in mind when you think about it. Midseason, he'll hit 41. And this is his what? 20th or 21st season coming up. Oh. Let's see, started in 2005. Think of 21 then? So ask yourself this.
Starting point is 00:32:08 Is he more likely to ever hold the office of vice president or win a Super Bowl for the Jets? And the crazy answer is, dude, he's 40. Both presidential candidates in their 80s. So he has 40 more years to accomplish something that seems preposterous. But you know what the Jets winning the Super Bowl also seems preposterous? So what's your answer? My answer is more likely to be in the Oval Office.
Starting point is 00:32:33 When Rich and I agree is fact, I don't want to agree with this guy, but he's absolutely right. He's got 41 years as far as I see it to, you know, Biden's 81. So he's got 41 years to make it into office. That's way more likely than him sniffing, as Colin would say, sniffing a Super Bowl with the Jets. Yeah, listen, when you first brought this up this morning, my immediate reaction was like, you're out of your mind.
Starting point is 00:32:56 And then I really thought about it. I was like, yeah, I mean, the Jets don't seem particularly close to winning a Super Bowl. So, when I tell you that, what I tell you that Mahomes is back, they have a dynasty going on there. Then you say,
Starting point is 00:33:09 well, you know what? Harba is there now. Patrick Mahomes here. The start of a dynasty. Okay. We just started a dynasty, ready for next year.
Starting point is 00:33:19 You know, and you got to say, well, look, you know, Herbert now has Harbaugh. You got to say, Lamar Jackson. That was the second time
Starting point is 00:33:26 he was an MVP, and they were the favorites going into the playoffs to go all the way and they, you know, laid an egg. Lamar Jackson, Joe Burroughs back. Josh Allen's focused. There's a lot of teams in the AFC that Aaron Rogers and the Jets would have to get past. I think in the next 40 years,
Starting point is 00:33:41 he has a better chance of, you know, sitting in the White House. Easily, especially when he knows a big popularity contest. He's a name that people recognize. People know Aaron Rogers. If he teams up with the right guy, I think this is such an easy debate. You don't know what he's got on the field anymore. His window is way short in the NFL. 21 seasons in at 40 years old. No way! The answer is easy. We ask you, Fox Sports Radio Nation, the herd.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Does Aaron Rogers have a better chance being an eventual VP of the US of A? Or winning a Super Bowl? The answer is VP. Yeah. He has a better chance of being vice president. Sounds ridiculous. And you know, just to prove, by the way.
Starting point is 00:34:29 And think of how many years he's been in league. He's only won one. Just to prove... Just to prove why being the president or getting into politics nowadays stinks. The same reason why likable people like Mark Cuban
Starting point is 00:34:41 or I believe recently John Stewart was asked like do you want to be president? All the people that would be reasonably middle of the road people that Republicans and Democrats alike might be able to gravitate towards the rock at one point
Starting point is 00:34:55 and people like, oh the rock? No one wants to do it. Because... Kanye? I don't know about that one. I voted for him. So, please don't say. I'm kidding.
Starting point is 00:35:05 So you look at it and say, who would want to be a politician in 2024? When the minute your name comes up, they start dragging it. As of like a day ago, Ryan, you were talking about how... Not like that, you age, you know, in high speed. Yeah, there's already stories about Aaron Rogers. You see one of those people that think Sandy Hook wasn't real. And he had to actually come out already and clarify. to quote Aaron Rogers on
Starting point is 00:35:30 X, Twitter. I'm on the record saying in the past what happened in Sandy Hook was an absolute tragedy. I am not and have never been of the opinion that the events did not take place. Again, I hope that we learn from this and other tragedies to identify the signs
Starting point is 00:35:46 that will allow us to, and he goes on and on he is a bit of a whack-doodle though, and we all know that because when he found out about Robert R.F. Kennedy Jr.'s request of him being VP. He was on like an ayahuasca retreat
Starting point is 00:36:02 somewhere. So that's what we want in office? You know, I would do Iowaska if you didn't poop yourself. But you're not running for office. I don't care what you do. I don't care what people are listening do in their free time. We're talking about a guy who could potentially be running the country. All right. Well, think
Starting point is 00:36:20 about that. You can hit us up at Cobian-on-Ritch, but it's time for the Hurt Line News. Let's go. No, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the Heard line news. All right, guys. A small move in the NFL free agency period.
Starting point is 00:36:35 Defensive back, C.J. Gardner Johnson, returning to the Eagles, solid players should help fix their secondary issues. Here's the best part. When he left the Eagles last season to play for the Lions for one year, he said Philly fans were blanking, obnoxious,
Starting point is 00:36:51 and the people were his least favorite thing about Philadelphia. Well, now he has to apologize for that, posting on social media. I do owe the fans of Philly an apology. Regardless of this regardless, this is an amazing place and we have some memories together.
Starting point is 00:37:05 Let's go get us one. Hashtaggly Eagle Sports. We talked about it yesterday. We talked about it yesterday, Ryan. You know, he was casual about it. I think he should have pulled the Larry David. You know what that is? When Larry David was a writer for S&L,
Starting point is 00:37:18 the classic story is that they weren't using his bits. He flipped out. He's like, after this place I had him out of here. I quit. And his friend, Kramer, who was based on, you know, he based the character Kramer on. The real Kramer said, hey, just go back to work on Monday
Starting point is 00:37:34 and pretend it never happened. And he did, and no one said anything. I think, I think he should have just pretended that he never tweeted that. Just that movie, you don't forget it. Yeah, I mean, at that point, like, he didn't go far enough to be like, oh my gosh, you know,
Starting point is 00:37:50 come to this bar, first rounds on me. I'm so sorry, Philly fans, whatever. Like, you might as well just pretend like it never happened. You know what he should have said? Yeah, but sports fans don't forget. No, Philly's tough, right? We're East Coast guys, you know, growing up. I thought I was him, I would be like, yo, Philly, you're not soft.
Starting point is 00:38:04 Get over it. I'm back. Let's do this. Don't be soft, Philly. That's a good point. All right, a lot of questions for the Vikings after losing Kirk Cousins to the Falcons. Most notably, what's going on with their superstar,
Starting point is 00:38:14 Justin Jefferson, who's looking for a new contract. It's not clear if he will demand a trade with a big void at the quarterback position. But what is clear, Minnesota's commitment to keeping Jefferson. Diana Rusini reports The Vikings came close to extending Justin Jefferson last offseason in Indianapolis for the NFL Combine. Their GM,
Starting point is 00:38:35 Quessia dofa Mensa was aggressively rejecting the idea of trading the star and the departure of cousins has not changed things. They have no plans to trade Jefferson sources tell me. You know, Ryan,
Starting point is 00:38:49 not to kiss his butt because we're filling in for him. But, you know, I'm a big fan of Colin and what he does. I'm with Colin, not just because of a nine. Finer's fan and I saw Darnold. I think if Brock Purdy didn't perform the way he did,
Starting point is 00:39:01 I think Sam Darnal could have took them into the playoffs for a nice run too. I'm not sold that Darnold's done. Give him a chance. Who knows? I'm with you on that. He's still young. We forget these guys. He's not 38.
Starting point is 00:39:13 I think he's 26. Yeah, he's not, he's not, he's not Aaron Rogers age. Nah. Look, Kevin O'Connell, Collins very high on Kevin O'Connell, what he was able to do with Josh Dobbs. There's no reason why he can't do something similar with Sam Darnold, if not better. with an actual training camp and offseason and the whole thing. It could be one of the surprises of the 2024 season.
Starting point is 00:39:31 He's 26 years old. I know. Let's give him another chance. All right, we'll wrap up with this. A lot of questions for the Cowboys, as they've done, well, basically nothing so far in a free agency. Fans kind of starting to freak out. Ask what's going on. Well, here's Stephen Jones talking about their lack of moves thus far.
Starting point is 00:39:49 It's frustrating for us as well. I mean, whether it be Jerry, whether it be by myself, whether it be Will, the coaching staff. organization, our family those are all things that no one wants it more than we want and I know our fans want it and certainly it's very understanding
Starting point is 00:40:07 that there's frustration. Frustration for America's team I will say I'm not backing up the Cowboys organization but sometimes you know I feel like fans feel this in all sports Ryan
Starting point is 00:40:22 sometimes they want a move and sometimes no move is better than the wrong move. And I don't like the move. You see this in baseball a lot with pitching staffs and bullpans. Like, sometimes people are like, they're not making any moves at the trade deadline. Or sometimes no moves better than the wrong move. And the Cowboys might say, there's nothing out there that's going to make us better.
Starting point is 00:40:43 You know, to appease some fans, like, oh, they made a transaction. Who cares? And thank you for the herd line news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by. The Hurdline News. All right, well, who has the worst fan base in all of the NFL? We have the answer to that, and it's not from the human perspective.
Starting point is 00:41:04 It's from the robot perspective. Oh, chat GPT. Yeah, they came out with a list, an AI list of the worst fan base in the NFL. We'll let you know what that is next. Kavino and Rich, in for Colin, on the herd, Fox Sports Radio. One more herd? The herd streams 24 hours a day, seven days a week, within the iHeart radio app. Search heard to listen live or on demand whenever you'd like.
Starting point is 00:41:28 Hey, what's up, everybody? It's me three-time Pro Bowl of LaVar Arrington, and I couldn't be more excited to announce a podcast called Up on Game. What is Up on Game, you ask? Along with my fellow Pro Bowler, T.J. Hushman Zata and Super Bowl champion. Yep, that's right. Plexico Burris. You can only name a show with that type of talent on it.
Starting point is 00:41:49 Up on Game. We're going to be sharing our real-life experiences, it with teachable moments. Listen to Up On Game with me, LaVar Arington, T.J. Hushmanzada, and Plexico Burrish on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast from. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
Starting point is 00:42:14 It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the apps, and with the athletes for a full year. Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Starting point is 00:42:33 Listen to Superhuman on the I-Hard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care which I'm saying. Yep, that's me, Clifford Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, the reactions, my journey from basketball to college football,

Starting point is 00:44:12 All right. Kavino and Rich. And for Colin on the herd. What a day. What a show. What a country. as we speak, I'm posting the RSVP for tomorrow's broadcast. Again, live from the Graduate Hotels in Nashville.
Starting point is 00:44:29 Join us. Join us 4 p.m. Central time. RSVP, it's free. By the way, free. And Rich said, if you heard us on the herd and you say, hey, I heard about it on the herd, I'm here in Nashville to Graduate Hotels. Rich will buy you a drink.
Starting point is 00:44:42 See? Yeah, we're hanging, by the way. And broadcasting live. So join us tomorrow. And if you like our show today, it's always a pleasure filling in for Colin. But we do this every day on Fox Sports Radio, two to four on the west.
Starting point is 00:44:53 That's four to seven on the east. No. Five to seven on the east. Four to six in the central. Are you your dad? I'm turning it to my dad. Hey, what time is it over there again? Dad, it's always three hours.
Starting point is 00:45:07 Oh, yeah. Hey, hey, hey. So if you like our show. Tell my friends that text me about, you know, baseball or football at 5 a.m. I'm like, dude, I'm on the West Coast. Like, I know you could say put your phone on silent, but my East Coast friends, if you're a group chat about your team? I delete group chats. I don't want to be on them.
Starting point is 00:45:24 You don't do them? No, I don't do them. I'm allergic to them. It's a fair factor set. It's a fair take. Yeah, that's my advice. But hey, if you like our show, join us every day, Monday through Friday, join us live tomorrow, and please follow our podcast. Search Covino and Rich, wherever you stream your podcast, C-O-V-I-N-O and Rich. Do you get offended if someone leaves a group chat? No. I'm not on them.
Starting point is 00:45:45 So what do I keep? No, but I'm saying if there's like six people on a group chat about on the Dodgers. Danny, if you saw one of your friends on a group chat was like, yeah, I'm just out. Would you be like, you leave in the group chat? It says something. I'm on a family chat. That I'm on, right, to keep and check with my family. And every once in a while, my dad will leave.
Starting point is 00:46:01 I'm like, ooh, someone pissed off dad. Dad left the family chat. I can't, I don't want to deal with you. You can't drive me nuts. It doesn't bother me. What bothers me is when I see family members feuding on Facebook, I'm like, oh, yeah, that's why I'm not on Facebook. Yeah. Oh, boy.
Starting point is 00:46:17 And you know what? Last night to tie it all together, because we did talk about. about Love is Blind for a second earlier. They made a reference to like, and they were iced out of the group chat. It's like, you know, group chats are, they're fun, but annoying. I hear you. Well, speaking of chats, chat GPT is all the buzz. Yeah, well, it has been.
Starting point is 00:46:36 And there was a list of the best and worst fan bases according to chat GPT. Well, before you break the news, it's all you terrible fans out there. Can I just say that I put it to an experiment recently. I think there's great opportunity here with chat GPT. I think kids could use it as a tool. That's a conflict in itself. My daughter is like, Dad, I'm doing a book report. Is it wrong to use Chat GPT?
Starting point is 00:47:05 I'm like, well, it's wrong to plagiarize, but it's a tool that's available. Like, use it to your advantage, but schools do have a problem with it, which is odd. But anybody can go to the library and get micro-feesh? It's 20-24. Businesses are using it to advertise. their companies. I have a friend that works in real estate and they do all their listings through AI now. So there's pros to it but
Starting point is 00:47:25 is it better? Will it replace you at the job? I'm here to quickly tell you no because it doesn't replace the human element. It's still robotic. It's still at the phase of you're not fooling me because at Sirius XM I still do turbo and Boneyard. We still do the music
Starting point is 00:47:41 stuff at Sirius XM, Kavino and Rich. And they asked me for a quick bio the other day. And I was like well, you know what? Let's put it to the test. I'll see what chat GPT does. And you could tell that it was very robotic in its tone. It gave a really nice elaborate bio. But I wrote one myself and it was way better. So that personal touch is still key. It's still important. According to robots and AI,
Starting point is 00:48:04 they've come up with the most passionate fan bases and the worst fan bases in the NFL. Let me give you the top five and bottom five real quick. Tell me if you think anyone's left out. Top five fan bases, I'll go five to one like I'm doing a countdown like Seacrest or Spider-Harrison. Can you do it in your best Spider-Hen Number five. The Eagles. I think they deserve to be in the top five.
Starting point is 00:48:23 Philadelphia, passionate. Patriots number four. Cowboys number three. Steelers number two. Carbonator number one. The Raiders. You know what? I don't think that's a bad list.
Starting point is 00:48:36 Maybe you could say the bills or chiefs. Well, you could say that's the human element. Now, Chad GPT says, no. Raiders. Worst fan bases? The bottom five? Cardinals. at number 28.
Starting point is 00:48:51 I could see that. The Bucks, even though they won a Super Bowl, a couple years of Brady. I don't know if anyone's that passionate. The Jets, and the bottom two I agree with. Sorry Chargers fan.
Starting point is 00:49:03 And the Titans were going in Nashville. Marion Duh. The Titans, last place. Wow. Great city. Great team. Worst fans? Yeah, worst fans, I guess.
Starting point is 00:49:14 What do you think? Your thoughts at Covien-on-Ritch. We'll see you guys tomorrow. Live in Nashville. Thank you, Colin, for letting us fill in the herd. Cavino and Rich, we'll see you then. Arimidacci, baby. We'll see you in the Promise Man. Thank you, Fox Sports Radio. Goodbye.
Starting point is 00:49:26 Another podcast from some SNL, late night comedy guy, not quite unhumored me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
Starting point is 00:49:42 help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque.
Starting point is 00:50:05 Others say it's unleashing human potential. A win is a win. A win is a win. I don't care what you're saying.
Starting point is 00:50:31 Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th. You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media. Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Cliver Show. This is a place for raw, unfills of conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but celebrated. So let's get to it. Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok podcast network on TikTok. This is an IHeart podcast. Guaranteed human.
