You're listening to Fox Sports Radio. So, you know, J. Mack tries to make it sound like I don't like Jason Tatum. And I say, if you want to make him first team all NBA, I got no problem with it. I like Jason Tatum. But do I have questions in big spots of him taking games over? The numbers are on my side here. It's not great in these last second shot. you know, variable situations.

Eddie House, broadcasting for the Celtics, they're in Portland. So I'll give you an example, because I'm always viewed as a Tatum Hater, and I do think he's a great player. I'd love to have him in the franchise top eight, nine player in the league. I love him. But there was a moment against Cleveland, and this is what drives me nuts. They set a pick. The team tells him, walk it up the floor. It's your game.

Darius Garland off a pick is 6-1. He's 6-8. and he settles for a 13-foot fallaway. And my take is, that's what drives me nuts. You can't settle for that shot. Now, isn't that a fair criticism? No, if you really look at that play, the spacing was horrible. I felt like their late game execution on that,

in that particular game, wasn't on point. Jalen Brown walking behind him. Look at that spacing right there. There's no, Jared Allen is helping. He's taking a shot virtually over two. people with one guy behind him. So I don't blame that on Jason Tatum taking that shot. I blame that on the late game execution, the spacing of that team right there. And I'm going to live with Jason Tatum taking a shot 10 out of 10 times. You want to talk about that you

don't think that he's clutching in these last moment situations. Well, there hasn't been too many this year, right? They've been in 29 closed games. They're 19 and 10. I think I would take that. Okay. There's sixth best in NBA in NBA history with margin of victory. at 10.9 right now. So they're really not in that many situations where they are close games. Now, we could be prisoners of the moment to where those two situations, he had a chance against the Denver game to knock down the three. He had a chance against Cleveland to win the game in both of those games.

Shot don't go in. Make or miss league, right? But we're not talking about regular season. When you talk about a clutch player, Colin, can I ask you? When you think about a clutch player, you expect him to show up in the playoffs. Right. Right or wrong? Right. Okay. And so that's how playoff Jimmy got his name, correct? Right. Yeah. Let me rid off the numbers. Let me rid off some numbers to you. So last year in the playoffs, Jason Tatum, true shooting percentage. Account of field goals, a count of three-point field goal, and also free throws. He was 60%, 66%. He ranked fifth. And it was 15 players took at least 10 field goals in clutch moments, right?

he ranked fifth amongst them. You want to know who he was in front of? He was in front of Jimmy Butler at seven. He was in front of Jamal Murray at nine. He was in front of Steph Curry at 10. He was in front of Jokic at 13. And he was in front of LeBron at 15. So, I mean, I don't know this narrative that they're trying to create for Jason

Tatum. I don't think it's fair. And he's a young player. He just turned 26. We got to also take that in account. When did all the greats start becoming great? It was never when they was 19, 20, 21, 22. it was always after they had been in the league a while and understood exactly what it took to when basketball games.

So the notion that he's not clutch, I think it's just somebody, it's just a false narrative against him. I will say this, though, in the history of the league, there are these players, wilt in his prime, Kareem, M.J., LeBron, and I think Duncan and Yokic. there's really no answer, Shack for about six years. There's literally no answer. I think Boston could end up being the second best team in the league for the next six years. I look at Yokic and his efficiency. Eddie, I don't think he doesn't have off nights. I think we're looking at historically one of the most efficient players.

I mean, there's a combination here of the Dunkins and the Shacks. How do you, I mean, I think Boston's the second best team in the league. I don't know how you beat Yokic in Debt. Denver. I think he's unbeatable down the stretch. Your thoughts on that? Well, I'll say this. The two games they played against Boston, the first game was in the garden, and that was the game that they stopped the home game win streak of like 21 straight that the Celtics had, right? And so I'm there live, and I was my first time seeing Yolkits live. Nobody gives him credit for how quick his first step is. Everybody thinks that he plays slow,

but that's all, that's just the way he lures you to sleep. That's why a lot of the big fellas, They can't sag off because he'll shoot the shot. They don't want to get too close because his first step is impeccable. It's a lot quicker, a lot faster, and he's so smart. His basketball IQ is through the roof. The thing about what he brings to the table is steadiness. And everybody around him, he's very similar to, like, how LeBron had been the system a lot of times in Cleveland. He has the right pieces around him.

You put Aaron Gordon at Dunker's spot. You're going to have hell to pay. if you don't put a body on him while Yolkitch is going to work. If you want to come doubling, then you've got Jamal Murray that's able to go to work. And you've got other guys, Porter Jr. that stepped up, is able to knock down the shot. Yokic is the best player in the league, hands down, and it's not even close to me. There's a big gap between Yokic and the next best player in the league, just because what he brings to his team.

You look at his teammates, Jamal Murray, he took over that game when they played the Celtics in the fourth quarter. And then the last game that they played, it was Aaron Gordy. It was off of passes of yelkage. It was off of coming off the dunker spot, rebound in the basketball. They're a complete team. They find ways to win the basketball game, and that's all you look for if you are a team.

We've got to just find ways to win, no matter what it is. And I think he's a selfless player as well. So when you have your superstar being a selfless player, that trickles down to the rest of the guys. So I've been saying this. I've been critical. You know this. I've been critical to Lakers,

even though we live in Los Angeles, and I go to occasional games. but then about a year and a half ago, I don't know if it was diet, I don't know if it's workout. Anthony Davis doesn't get hurt anymore. Outside of Janice's freakish athletic ability and Yokic's offense,

he may be the best big in the game. He's now healthy. I mean, last night was another clinic. I think the Lakers, I've seen him beat OKC, Boston, Minnesota, Clippers here in the last 15-17 games, and I even think they match up with Denver, though I don't think they'll beat them.

is this finally, this rarely happens, a Laker team that's actually a little undervalued size, experience, A.D. Reeves is a good complimentary player. How do you view, as somebody that's seen him this year, how do you view this Laker team? I think the Lakers go as LeBron James, number one. We know he has to be there. He has to be healthy. also Anthony Davis if you get that version of Anthony Davis

and then Delo I really believe Deelow his inconsistency this year you'll see a game where he'll go for 30 plus and then he'll have a game we'll have 12 in the first half and only two in the second half and to me those are really key

you can't have inconsistencies with your main guys that you're relying on in the playoffs and Anthony Davis for as great as he was last night we expect to see that every single night and he just doesn't bring it And it's not 25 rebounds, but 25 points, 12 rebounds, 13 rebounds, things like that. I also believe that Austin Reeves is a great ancillary player.

He's not going to be a guy who's going to take you to the promised land if you need to lean on him night in and night out. So you need the guys that step up like D.Lo, but be consistent with it. You need Austin Reeves to be consistent. You need LeBron to be healthy, AD to be healthy and playing their best brand of basketball. It's been some games where I look at AD. If he's playing a bigger body, it seems like he has an issue with bigger guys. But definitely, obviously, a top 75 talent, one of the best players in the league. But at the end of the day, it all is about consistency.

And this team just hasn't been consistent throughout the year. Yeah, they haven't been healthy, but most of the time is the ancillary players that ain't been healthy. Where the main guys have to step up. And in the playoff, that's what it's always going to lean on. Your main guys have to be there. Eddie House broadcasting in Portland, Celtics broadcaster. All right, J-Mack, a lot of stuff moving in the NFL. J-Mack with the news. No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. What? It's done. Have you seen the note or no?

No. Okay. Kirk Cousins to the Atlanta Falcons. Wow. It's official. Four year deal. We don't have the money yet, but I'm just stunned. I don't.

Well, here's why it works. Here's why it works. Okay, he's coming off surgery, and they have an excellent O line. So he'll get protection. Secondly, very talented, but super young. offense. He's an adult. He's a grown-up. Also, weakest division in football. So his impact in this division is much greater, in my opinion, that is impact in the better NFC North, where Green Bay is stacked and not going anywhere, and Detroit is stacked and not going anywhere, and you have,

in my opinion, two good front offices. So in Minnesota, age, O-line's got a good left tackle, but you kind of look around and you think, I don't think Minnesota's heart is broken. I don't think they wanted to pay him. What Atlanta? What's the number on the Atlantic? We haven't seen the numbers yet. We're waiting for them.

Atlanta, so this is interesting. Now that division, I have Baker and Kirk Cousins, both more than capable of winning that division. So the Derek Carr-denis-Sallon combo feels like third best in the division. Well, let's not go over. I mean, I don't think Derek Carr has a playoff win. Kirk Cousins and Baker each have two, I'm fairly certain. I like it. I mean, I...

So we're saying Atlanta's tops in the division? I mean, I'm just saying, let's... Relative to fit. Kirk coming off an injury would not be a good fit with a bad O line. Atlanta's is excellent. It's maybe not quite as good as Detroit, but it's excellent. Pro football focus had them graded out as fourth best in the lead. So that's big. Right.

Secondly, you've got some... Drake London, pits, two viable running backs. Okay. Then you have a coach in Rahim Morris. He's a defensive coach. But we know defensive coaches. Don't turn it over, move the chains. I want an adult.

I don't want you ad-libbing out of it. That's what Kirk Cousins does. He doesn't add-lib. He's going to sit in the pocket. I think it makes, his cousins, by the way, was with Rahim Morris and Washington for a couple of years. Yeah. So, Rahim Morris, who's a smart, understated guy, who is friendly to offense as a defensive guy,

he knows Kirk's demeanor, his temperament, his maturity. So Rahim's comfortable with that. The O.C., I believe, Zach Robinson came from the Rams. Now, he's never called plays before, but he comes from the McVeigh tree, which is we love play action, you know, and Kirk fits that perfectly. None of McVeigh's offensive coaches, none have missed. They're all good. That sounds probably accurate because we like McVeigh, but I'm just stunned.

Why are you stunned? Well, maybe I have a heart here on a Monday. I just feel bad for Justin Fields. I don't know what happens to him now. Well, again, he was... So I'm Rahim Morris. I'm a defensive coach. I get it.

I have a young group of offensive players. Let's bring a young unproven guy who's not really refined and gets hurt a lot. Or Kirk Cousins. I get it. He's a good... Like I said, Russell Wilson is a good fit with Pittsburgh. Is it Stamper to the Rams? No, Kirk Cousins is a good fit with Atlanta.

I like it. Remember, when Aaron Rogers went down, I begged the Jets to go get Kirk Cousins. Then he gets, you know, Achilles injured. That was Lamar Jackson. Well, that was in the offseason. I'm talking, you know, like three weeks in. I was like, get Kurt Cousins, they stink. So now the interesting thing.

So now this is very interesting. Let's talk Minnesota. So where is Minnesota drafted? Well, I think 13. Okay. They're very much. They're at 11. That's very much in the.

Panics, Knicks, J.J. McCarthy territory. So, by the way, Minnesota is an underrated place to go as a young quarterback. Two excellent receivers, excellent tight-in, great left tackle, super bright. Hold on. You guys, when you put this on my screen, I can't read that. Yeah, I can't read that. You have to get rid of that thing in front of it. Sorry, audience.

I can't read it. It doesn't matter. So something else, Diana Rusini is reporting something. I can't read it on my screen. Well, anyways, Kirk Cousins to Atlanta, a big one. Congrats to the Falcons. They'll probably be a playoff team next year, I would say. I would say Vegas will favor them as a playoff.

We didn't get this division. I had the Saints winning it. You, I believe, had the Panthers. And out of nowhere comes Baker, Mayfield, and Tampa Bay and steals the division. I think everybody's going to like Atlanta this year. Did you figure out what's on the screen or no? Yeah, just type it up. Instead of retweeting that, just type it up.

All right, so we'll go to the next one. And the Philadelphia Eagles, they had a rough start to the season. season, sorry, rough end of the season, one and six down the stretch. Jalen Hertz took a lot of criticism. Former Eagle Donovan McNabs believed Philly can get back to Super Bowl form. I think for Jalen is really just a restart. Obviously, new offense, new offensive coordinator and Kellyn Moore coming in. I'm sure he's going to work with him individually to make sure they're on the same fate. And maybe he'll get a chance to put up some of those back Prescott numbers that Kellan was, you know, part of that. He stripped that defense and create some

special teams opportunity for field position. I think we're talking about Philadelphia back in the NFC championship at least. I don't know about that. Now, Eagles did make some moves today. They stole Bryce Huff from the Jets. Huff had an incredible year, but didn't play a lot. He was like a situational pass rusher. They gave him a lot of money. And they also kept Landon Dickerson, the offensive lineman. And there's a lot of chatter right now that Seekwan Barkley and the Eagles could be close to something. Stealing from the division, Josina Anderson's reporting that. Nothing signed yet, or locked in, but Sequin Barclay or the Eagles, I mean, that would be a pretty good get for them. The offense needs some more pieces. Do you know who the Vikings are going after?

What position? Quarterback. The unheralded, underrated. Jacoby Versette? Sam Darnold. Oh, my gosh. According to Diana Rusini, look for the Vikings to go after Sam Darnold, who also has other suitors. Oh my gosh. This will prove to be a great day in American history. Is this like the Baker-Mayfield impact? Hey, he bounces around the league,

then lands somewhere with a good offensive guy in Canales. I'm telling you, what are the messages being sent today? The messages by Atlanta is Justin Fields, too many questions, not enough answers. Kirk Cousins, answers, not many questions. That's what Atlanta's telling. We want Rahim Morris saying, I want answers. I don't get him what Justin Fields.

What is Russell Wilson to the Steelers saying? Hey, listen, we're kind of immature on the offensive side. Tomlin doesn't, not that he's allergic to offense, but he doesn't have a feel for it. Russell's a veteran, been around, he's free. Let's bring Russell in to get our offense right. And what you're telling you is Minnesota, Kevin O'Connell, the coach who I think is super bright. We like it. He's saying, listen,

for us to get the quarterback that we really like, we probably have to give up a ton of draft capital or Justin Jefferson, and I don't want to give him up. So I'll go get Sam Darnold's sign him to a two-year deal, and then if I want to draft Pennix at my spot, but what

the offensive coach is telling you is, I'm not giving up draft picks, or my star receivers, or my star left tackle. I'm not giving that stuff up. I'll roll the on Sam Darnold. I'm an offensive guy. I'll get the most out of him. By the way, Kevin O'Connell's close to McVey, Shanahan.

Shanahan's probably said, listen, the guy's good. This also probably opens the door. Niners will need a backup. Do they go, Zach Wilson, who can do a lot of play action, is in that Sam Darnold was drafted high, has showed some flashes but needs a lot of refinement. Maybe the Niners take Zach Wilson off the Jets' hands. What a great Monday.

What a great Monday. show. Yeah, we, uh, I don't know. I'm surprised you're surprised. I'm so, first of all, Atlanta, Kirk Cousins would be fine. The Minnesota piece is fascinating. Okay, well, hold up. When you get a quarterback, you don't want to let go of them.

The Minnesota Vikings just said, thank you for your service, Kirk, we'll move on. No, what they got to have a game. What Minnesota is doing is what Dallas won't. Minnesota is saying, we don't want to pay A plus for B plus. Dallas can't do it. Dallas is like, we'll keep paying A plus for B plus. Minnesota is like, no, we like Kirk Cousons. We don't.

like him when the first number's four. Yeah. So I agree with that. Sam Darnold, the first number may be won, as in like 18 million. Okay, but what if Sam Darnold is not very good and they win seven games? And the quarterback they drafted ain't the guy. Kevin O'Connell's on the hot seat in two years. If they kept Kirk Cousins, you're going to win, you know, eight, nine, ten, eleven games. Ooh, whoa. What's stagers? I don't know. What do you want? Job security? Hey, everybody. When you train for the Olympics, go for the bronze. Go for the silver.

The takeaway is, again, what is Minnesota telling you? We're going to go sign Sam for about a year to two deal. It's telling me they're going to draft the quarterback, but they don't want to move up to draft the quarterback. That's what it's telling you, is that we're not going to get Caleb and we're not move enough to get Drake, May, or Jane Daniels. But we'll take Pennix, Knicks, or McCarthy. We'll take those guys, but we don't want to have to force them to play,

Because we just don't think they're quite ready for. McCarthy becomes interesting, but will he fall to 11? Well, no, no. If you have to move up now, though, let's say we're Minnesota and we're at whatever we're at 11. I don't have the board in front of me. Okay, I can move to 9 and give up a second round. I don't want to have to move up to 3 or to get my guy. Right.

So I'd be very interested to watch the Chargers at their draft spot because they have a need for a receiver, and there's a couple there. but I can see the Chargers hardball move into 11, like to a Minnesota, because they don't need a quarterback or a left tackle. And the draft is all quarterback's left tackles in the first 12 picks. Is McCarthy 5 too rich for your blood, though? They're not, no, I'm saying the Chargers. If Minnesota trades up.

I don't think you'd have to go to 5. You'd probably have to go to 8. Okay. Because other teams have needs. I'm just saying if, I think the Vikings now are fascinating. And I keep your eye on the Chargers Vikings, because the Chargers do not need what the Viking presents, and they need another extra pick,

because they've got to get a center, a right tackle, a receiver, a tight end. They got some needs for about a year. What they don't, and it's a very rich receiver draft. So my take is the Chargers will be an interesting team that can move around and, you know, move five spots, get a second round pick, and then a Minnesota could get their quarterback. Listen, there's a history in this league, that if you have a college quarterback,

It's not the worst thing to sit them. Lamar Jackson sat for like 10 weeks. Mahomes sat for three and a half month. It's not the worst thing in the world. Joe Perl will go play and get beat up. Final story, Niners. So they promoted Nick Sorensen as their new defensive coordinator. Obviously added Brandon Staley to the staff as well.

But according to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Niners reached out to Bill Belichick during their defensive coordinator search. Talks reportedly did not go out. Anywhere. Do you think Belichick hung up after 10 seconds, 30s? I mean, I can't imagine. Oh my. Oh, boy. More breaking news. What is it? What is it? Sequin Barclay to the Philadelphia Eagles. Oh, damn. Mike Garofalo. NFL Network. And Ian Rappaport.

Wow. So former Penn Stater goes back to Pennsylvania. So the Giants basically... Chargers missed out. Well, they didn't miss out. They don't have the money. They're ever running back. Eckler's gone. with Kelsey leaving and Fletcher Cox leaving, Nick Sariani, okay, this goes back to what we said an hour

ago. So the Eagles coach, offense or defense? Offense. What does he do? Bang the table to Howie Roseman. We're getting rid of Fletcher Cox. Let's go spend money on offense. And weaken, I mean, the Giants are what's their office? They're toast, yeah.

So they lose D'Andre Swift to the Bears. They replace him with Sakewan. Parkley is a completely different players. And I like Swift. He's not Seekwon Barkley. Who's offensive coordinator in Philly? He could dial up some. Who is it?

Kellynne Moore. Oh, yeah. Who's had a dominant number one back in Dallas. A lot of familiarity in the NFC East. Yeah. Eagles turning it around, turning the Shipper, turning the Titanic around right now. Sequin Barkley to the Eagles. I mean, he's obviously a great player.

Also, you don't have to be quite as reluctant on Jalen Hurts' legs. you now have a star back. What are the Giants offensive? There's three wins. That's what they are. Take out Carolina. Show me. I don't even think they qualify as a BB gun. I mean, there is nothing there.

Maybe the worst team in the NFC, Giants. I thought the Texans was going to be the fit for Sequin Barclay. For a team in division, what a facial that is. Oof. Woo, we. Okay, I'm going to do the next two hours. Tell Nick Wright, tomorrow's his day. All right, we take a break.

So I'm starting to see that there's a through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. Thank you finishing that sentence. Yes. I don't think there's a more. important year for black people really yeah for me it's one of the most important years for black

You can win that division with Kirk Cousins. I like it for Atlanta, Minnesota reportedly, going after Sam Darnold, probably a bit of a band-aid for a year or two.

I think the Vikings with the number 11 pick in the draft, if you look at the draft board, Chicago reportedly would love to move down at nine, I could see the Vikings moving up two spots. Or they could eventually move up to the Titan. Titans have many needs offensively. The Vikings don't. The Vikings just need a future quarterback. If they get darnold, they don't even need a quarterback for next year. So the Vikings have their receiver, left tackle.

I like the Vikings offensive talent, and I think their coach is young and brilliant. The Broncos also, they could move up, but my guess is they have to get some hits on draft day, draft weekend. I think the Vikings have a greater opportunity to move up than Denver does. I wouldn't be surprised to see Minnesota move up and find their future quarterback. Again, J.J. McCarthy is not going to go as high as Caleb. He's not going to go as high as Jaden Daniels, probably not as high as Drake May, though that's arguable this morning. But I would look at the Vikings moving up a little, putting it in their hands, giving up some draft capital, Darnold for two years, draft your quarterback and plan

by the following year. I'm not being a Chargers homework because they're out here and I've been to a couple of their games. I like the team. They are sitting awesome at number five because everybody now knows the Giants need a quarterback, right? Do the Giants? So do you, if you want a quarterback, if you want the fourth best quarterback, Colin, you've got to get ahead of the Giants to get to the charger spot. So the chargers are sitting pretty right now. They could trade that down for possibly a hole. I think the Giants are looking at a quarterback at six, no? They have no other players.

Yeah, I mean, if I'm the giant and you're stuck with Daniel Jones for at least a year, my theory on this thing, outside of having a great quarterback prospect, there's about one a year. I'd always trade down. Now, the Vikings are a different situation. They have all the offensive elements. The coach, the left tackle, the receivers, the tight ends, they've got their elements. So is, okay, so you're saying possibly the Giants say we don't want to, we don't want the fourth best quarterback. Let's just rejigger the roster.

We're going to win three or four games and we'll take the best quarterback next year at the top. I'm not saying you punt to year. Or take the best quarterback available as you trade down to 15th. And that may be Michael Pennix. Also, Sequin Barkley leaves the Giants. He goes to the Philadelphia Eagles, the division rival. You know, Fletcher Cox and Kelsey are gone. You've got money to spend.

You've got increased salary cap options now. The revenue for the NFL is great, so let's go make the Giants weaker, a stronger. Barclay's an absolute home run hit. Got some injury concerns, but you'll be less reliant on Jalen Hurts running with Saquan Barkley now in-house. Wild Day. Expect more of the same tomorrow and Wednesday. Good Monday.
