This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Clifford Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media.
Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show.
This is a place for raw, unfilled conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but the show.
celebrated. So let's get to it.

On the Look Back at it podcast.
From 1979, that was a big moment for me.
84's big to me.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went
down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors.
Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.
84 was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Thanks for listening to The Heard podcast. Be sure to catch us live every weekday from 12 to 3 Eastern, 9 to noon Pacific on Fox Sports Radio and FS1.

You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
For those of you that don't know, T.J. Hushmanzada, he's one of the more interesting people that I know.
I always have an interesting conversation with T.J.
He just has some things.
He's just not going to move on.
He's a picky eater.
T.J. Hosh Mazata is joining us in the studio, Joy Taylor, and for Colin Coward, along with Alex Curry.
So you're a picky eater.
I know that about you.
I am.
T.J. does up on game with Lavaar Arrington and Plaxco Burris.
Their show is right before mine on Saturdays on Foxx.
sports radio. So I always catch some, on the way in, I listen. So I always catch some random take
from them in the mornings. So you're a picky eater, so eat a lot of fruit. You're not a big traveler.
I've been forced to travel now. My wife, my kids, they kind of force me to travel once a year.
So I'm forced to do that. But it's like, it's the not traveling thing. We're talking about this
because Alex Curry is going to Italy after the show today. What is it about traveling that you don't like?
It's just the food?
Not really.
I don't like the long flights.
Well, that's understandable.
But like, you know, you just, you don't drink.
I do.
I go now.
When you drink, it's easier.
Yeah.
Class wine, pass out.
Yeah.
All good.
You know what?
Not think about it.
I have had wine one time.
It was a bottle of recently and it was like, oh, this is pretty good.
That's sweet.
That's like dessert wine.
Yeah, it has to be.
If it's not sweet and it's, I don't want it.
Yeah.
Well, then that's your wine.
You're missing out on one of the great joys in life.
I don't want.
Hey.
The traveling part of it is the food part.
Like, what am I going to eat?
But the long flights, but I will say this, when I do travel and vacation, I enjoy myself.
It's just getting me to go.
I will enjoy myself.
That's fair.
The travel part, the actual getting there, the transportation part is not my favorite part of traveling either.
Yeah, I'm not a debby downer once we get there.
I'm going to enjoy myself for sure.
Okay, that's good.
You're not a big grump.
That's good.
Can we reveal the big tell that you said right before you came on air?
Oh, my point?
Yeah, go ahead.
What?
He's got three.
Three million points on his credit card.
What are you doing, man?
Do it a free flight.
The trip is free.
Yeah.
You're not paying for anything.
A friend of mine told me that.
I showed them my points and they were like, man, let me get them points.
Yeah, that's how we travel.
You put everything on the credit card and then you use the points to get your flight.
For a long time, though, I hadn't even had a credit card.
I just paid with everything with a debit card.
And my financial advisor kept telling me like, get a credit card.
Get a credit card.
So I got one and I just been using it.
And I just use it.
Yeah, they don't teach us that.
It took me a long time to get a credit card with points too.
I was like, why, but the credit?
They're like, yeah, but then you pay for it pays you.
Yeah.
There's a little financial advice for you.
My kids won't be having the same problem that I'm having now.
That's for sure.
Well, that's good.
Thanks for coming to TJ.
We were just talking about Baker Mayfield earlier.
Obviously, you know the AFC North well.
And I'm out on Baker Mayfield.
I think he'll do fine at his next stop, whatever it is.
I don't have huge expectations for him.
I think I've seen enough.
Not just the personality side of things,
but he doesn't elevate a team that's not great.
around him. We have evidence of that.
But I do think if he's going to end up
anywhere
relatively soon, it would be the Panthers.
And there's a report today
that the Panthers have a little bit of urgency about
getting him in if they're going to bring him in
because of mini-camp. So if you
were the Panthers and you were going to go for Baker Mayfield
this year, would you want to try and get him
sooner? I mean, he is injured, but there's
values him being in the building, no?
I would have wanted him months ago.
When you're a quarterback,
you have to know everything to run
game, the past game, protections, checks, there's just so much you need to know.
He's not going to learn that system and be able to play effectively.
So it's going to be an excuse of I got in late.
I didn't know.
I would have wanted him before the draft so he could learn a system.
If I couldn't have gotten him before, I don't want him now.
Because is he an upgrade over Sam Darnold?
Is he?
I think he is.
Is he really?
But he's not, maybe a game or two.
If you look at Baker Mayfield since he's been.
with the Cleveland Browns.
He's played with much better players than what Sam Donald has played with.
And so now you go to Carolina, which isn't as strong as the Cleveland Browns roster.
He didn't do anything with that roster.
And I like Baker.
Certain guys on the team, they're not going to want him there just because of his personality.
So automatically he's going to walk in the door and people are going to have an assumption of what he is.
He's going to have to show them that I'm not this.
and as soon as he shows him something that may make somebody think,
ah, that's what I thought he was, it's a problem.
And so they should have done this a long time ago.
I don't think he's an upgrade from Sam Drono.
One, he doesn't know the system.
And him and Sam are just completely different people.
Yeah.
So, Jack Prescott has said that he's in much better shape this year.
The hype train for the Cowboys is starting to dial up.
I don't know where you stand on the Cowboys, but I'm going to tell you this.
If he's not my team and I pick you and you disappoint me, I ain't doing it again.
And I don't know what this lifestyle is, these cowboy fans live.
But my mom is a Cowboys fan, so I guess that's why I fall for them sometimes.
They won three playoff games in 25 years.
I just, I love Dak Prescott, but I just don't believe that the Cowboys are a real contender.
Jack Prescott is not my question with the Cowboys.
I was a Cowboy fan growing up.
Really?
I really was.
Well, that's fair, because they were awesome.
They used to be on Fox every Sunday.
So all my homeboys were 49er fans, and I was a lone cowboy.
fan. No longer a fan. Once you start playing, I'm not a fan. But the Cowboys have a good team.
The Eagles are good as well. I think the Eagles are going to win the division this year.
And so, back Prescott, yeah, you can look better. You can feel good about yourself.
But when you've lost Amari Cooper, who is shown, I play better when he's in the game,
you re-sign Michael Gallup. Michael Gallup's coming off in ACL. So he's not going to be ready to
to go and if he is, he's not going to be 100%.
City Lamb can play.
But what is that going to do?
Who's going to be his comfort?
Who's going to be that guy on third Nate that he wants to throw the ball to?
You can look good.
You got to give me results and play good.
And so the Cowboys, because they are the Cowboys,
will always be news.
But the Eagles are going to be better.
And so that going to have to play as good as he's ever played before
if the Cowboys are going to do anything.
I agree with you.
I think the Eagles are going to be better.
I think they'll win the division this year.
So we talked a little bit about Kyler Murray earlier.
Cliff Kingsbury said he's praying they get the deal done before training camp starts.
I agree.
I do not like talking about people's contracts.
I'm not running you the money, so it really doesn't matter to me what anyone pays you.
But I will say when it comes to paying quarterbacks, I don't understand why this is like a poof surprise the people.
It's like when you get your credit card bill.
Oh, my God.
You spent it.
Why are you confused up.
Why are you confused about how much it is?
That's what you spent.
If you get a quarterback who has improved the team every single year, which Kyler Murray has, he has the potential.
He has a star power.
Are there questions about him?
Sure.
But who said you have to give him a 10-year deal?
We're talking about a four to five-year deal here.
If you do it sooner, you may actually save yourself some money.
And this is a good problem to have to pay your quarterback.
It's the only position that you should be worried about paying if we're being honest.
So what do you think happens with Kyler Murray and should they give him a deal?
Absolutely.
They should have been given.
He should have a deal already because they drafted him number one.
They're not picking in the top 10 since Kyler Murray's been their quarterback.
They have not picked in the top 10.
Go ask the Cowboys how it does when you wait.
Ask him how about that.
Ask them how it is when you just wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
You end up paying more than you would have paid.
Kyler Murray is a franchise quarterback.
Is he Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Patrick Williams, Aaron.
No.
But he's much better than any.
anything you've had in years.
Just pay him.
Four years.
You want a short-term deal
because you don't want to commit long.
The price is doing business now is four years
close to $200 million.
It's just, it is what it is.
You're going to have to, you wait.
It's going to be more because
if Lamar Jackson signs before him,
he's going to want close to what Lamar has.
Of course.
And so I don't know what the Cardinals are doing.
It's incompetent when I look at it
because you guys have been bad for so
long and you are no longer bad.
Just pay them.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports
Radio, FS1 and the IHeard Radio app.
What do you make of Lamar Jackson's situation? Obviously, he doesn't have an agent.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games. Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman.
recommended it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tapped Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do?
a little kill. Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast. I'm Sam Jay. And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack. I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so you y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS.
on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Welcome to my new podcast, Learn the Hard Way with me, your host, and your favorite therapist,
Kear Games.
And in recognition of mental health awareness month, I'm bringing over a decade of my own experience
in the mental health field and conversations
with so many incredible guests.
I'm talking.
Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing
and we're still chasing it
and we don't know when we've done enough
because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person
while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

I'm not somebody who believes you have to have an agent throughout your entire career.
Guys have negotiated contracts without agents before.
But I do think in the situation that Lamar is in,
where he obviously wants to be completely dedicated to football.
And there's only so much time in a day.
He's not a lawyer.
He's not an agent, obviously.
And this is his first big deal.
I think this is a time that you would want someone negotiating on your behalf.
I think they can get it done.
But he's sort of betting on himself if they don't get it done this year.
No?
Lamar should have an agent when you're getting your first big contract.
And because he's Lamar Jackson,
he can set the parameters of what I'm going to pay you
and the best agents in football will say,
okay, you're going to pay me this?
Cool.
I just want Lamar Jackson as a client.
You want to pay me X amount?
It could be less than 1%.
They would take that contract on
because Lamar Jackson is my client.
When they go to negotiate
and they start talking about the negative of Lamar
where the Ravens, who do they say that to?
Who do they say what he doesn't do well?
Right.
And so that's why you need that middleman to be that buffer.
I don't know what he's doing with this.
Every player that I've ever been around,
we want to get paid sooner than later.
And for Lamar, it looks like it's later.
So this leads me to believe that the Ravens have not offered him a deal that he
feel he wants.
That's the only reason he hasn't signed a deal.
Oh, we're ready to sign Lamar whenever he wants to sign.
That can't be true.
That can't be true.
That's what negotiating is for.
like you get a deal offered to you you don't like it then you negotiate and then you eventually reach a deal that
and that could be that first deal they offered them or that first contract that they sent he probably was like oh
no i'm not taking right that's why you need a middleman right go get an agent you're not going to outbid
yourself so they're going to start low in theory something that that you would want if you're the
team or the company or whatever and then the agent would negotiate
up. I've always felt like, and I said this last week, a negotiation, both parties should feel
like, I gave a little more than I wanted to give. That's a negotiation. I should have got a
little more. I shouldn't have given up this much. But I don't know what Lamar's doing,
but you always one play away from being injured. He should get paid and get paid. Now,
find an agent that will take X amount, not a percent. I'm going to pay you this.
And they're going to do it because you're Lamar Jackson.
They want you on their roster of clients.
We've got T.J. Hushmanzada, Fox Sports NFL analysts in studio.
So game six is tomorrow night.
Who did you pick to win the series?
Golden State in seven.
Me too.
Me too.
So you think that Boston's going to win tomorrow night then?
I actually, I think Golden State may pull it out in six now.
I really do because in order.
Alex's pick was Golden State and six.
In order for Boston to win,
Jalen Brown and Jason Tatum, they have to play well every game.
Tatum played well, but he didn't play well in the fourth quarter in game five.
Jalen Brown didn't play well at all.
They had no chance.
Steph Curry played terrible, and they still won.
He's not going to play terrible again.
He's not going to play terrible.
And so the crazy thing is Jordan Poole didn't even play much in the fourth quarter
because I think defensively they feel he's a liability.
Boston is in, it's a rock and hard place because Marcus Smart is giving them a lot.
They take him out of the game.
They bring Derek White in.
Derek White missed two shots.
The Duck was like, get out.
You got to come out.
He missed two shots.
They take it him right on now and they put Marcus Smart back in.
They need a game one where Derek White, Al Horford kind of go off and take the pressure off Jalen Brown,
Jason Tatum, and Marcus Smart.
Because Marcus Smart, to me, is their third best player.
he's the third best player on that team
offensively people think
defensively yeah by far and away the best defensive player
but when he's knocking down threes
Curry can't guard him back him down easy
who can guard Marcus Smart
and so they probably need to make him
more of a focal point offensively to take pressure
off of Jason Tatum and Jalen Brown
but I think Golden State is probably going to win in a six
I don't know that's going to be a very
not that they haven't been in hostile environments before
and big moments before but
I think it's going to go seven.
I just, I think Boston is a really good team.
And also, Jason Tatum is amazing in elimination games and has been through this postseason run.
This year he was, he's been, he's been fantastic.
Jason Tatum, like the Celtics, that's my son's favorite team.
I have no idea where it comes from.
He loved Jason Tatum in the Boston Celtics.
No, I, look, I have my issues with the Celtics overall, but I really do like this team.
They're going to be good for a long time.
And I think EMA has done an amazing job.
I'm a big fan of Eme O'Doka.
And I've actually been saying for years that I get that Brad Stevens is like a basketball
genius and all that, but he has a lot of talent that isn't able to get over the hump.
So whatever you said about Brad Stevens system is not working.
So, I mean, you're good.
But if you're just trying to be good, then great.
Because you continue just being good.
But I think that Celtics have a standard for being great.
So I love what EMA has been able to come in and do.
And to the Celtics credit, they didn't get rid of it.
or Brad Stevens.
They just move them upstairs where it seems like this is now all aligned.
That said, I think it's Steph Curry's moment.
Sometimes we just have that.
I think it's going to be a really intense, tough game.
Celtics pulled off tomorrow night and then they go back to Golden State.
Golden State is just like they got old talent, middle of the pack talent, really young.
Like they're going to let Looney go and James Wiseman is going to come in and be better than
Looney next year.
Like that's how good they are.
Well, they just have an amazing culture.
They really focus on developing players.
I love what Golden State has done.
I wish Cominga could be on the legers.
I'm like, he don't even play.
Put him on the leg.
Like, he doesn't play.
I mean, I think Andrew Wiggins is the perfect example of this.
What Golden State is able to do is get the best out of their players,
the best out of whatever it is you can do
because they don't ask players to be something that they're not.
And as a player, you can appreciate that.
Putting people in situations that they can,
cannot be successful in because it's not what they do is going to play out exactly how it sounds
poorly but organizations do it all the time they have wild expectations of players whether it's
intangibly that they don't know what their personality type is and they try to force them into
leadership roles they try to force them into physical roles that they're not ready for and fits
like Andrew Wiggins fits perfectly with this team they're not asking him to be anything other
than what he is and he's striving how many teams could could have their best
best player and Steph Curry
played how he did in game five and still
win. I don't think any. There's not, and that
just shows you, Golden State
is the epitome of the word
team. They move
the ball. It doesn't, they don't
care who's getting a shot.
Draymond Green is a superstar
but doesn't fit the description
of a superstar. He does a little bit of
everything. He's the emotional leader.
Jordan Poole, who
carried them early in the playoffs,
not even playing much in the fourth quarter.
okay, it is what it is.
They just have a good coacher up there.
But when you win, everybody kind of,
you settle for whatever when you're winning.
Well, yeah, it's much easier to buy into things
when you see that the results are that you're going to win.
Do you think Steph is the finals MVP?
Yes.
But I will say this.
If it goes seven and Wiggins continues to do what he's doing
and play how he's playing,
it can get interesting.
If they go seven games and Wiggins,
I mean, Wiggins is getting 20,
in 10 every game.
I know.
We talked about this with Ryan Hollins earlier,
but he's like,
you know,
he's not getting the same looks that Steph Curry.
Like,
he's being able to thrive
because the attention's on Seth Curry.
Hey.
I'm with you.
I think Andrew Wiggins has been unbelievable.
I'm loving watching what he's doing.
Steph is going,
Steph deserves it.
He deserves.
I mean,
he should already have a finals MVP.
There's no way a Goda
should have got the finals MVP
when they played Cleveland.
There's no way.
It should have gone to Steph Curry.
I get it.
I don't hate that it went to I Goddala.
I do think he earned that.
Steph's carried him.
You take away game five.
He's carried him.
He's carried him.
Well, so Alex and I were talking about this earlier before I let you go.
I find this all the time with fans when we talk about Steph Curry specifically because
Steph has transformed the game and he inspires so many people to feel like I could play like
that.
Like I could shoot threes.
I don't have to be the biggest guy.
I don't have to be the strongest guy.
And I always push back on the idea that Steph Curry isn't strong.
wrong. Like people look at Steph Curry and you're like, oh, we're the same. Yeah, I can do that.
No, you're not. You're not even close. But you are a football player, so you can, you were a tough guy,
so you can speak to this. Is there this, like, idea a little bit because people can go play basketball
and they can't step on a football field that they're, like, closer to Steph Curry? Because I get this all
the time. We're like, oh, it's not strong. It's not that hard what he does. Like, he just chucks up
threes. That three point line is all the way over there on the other side of the studio. And not only does he do
that while someone's guarding him in a huge moment after he's been playing for an entire game.
He rises up over a seven-footer and shoots that in their face.
You can't do that.
What Steph Curry is doing, it's not easy.
Just go to the park without anybody covering you, guarding you, and just do a fadeaway
and see how hard that is.
It's so hard.
Like, it's not easy.
And that's the park's three-point line.
That's not even the NBA three-point line.
It's built like he's not dunking on people like Westbrook and Derek Rose and John Morant.
He's dribbling a ball.
He's shooting a jump shot.
We all can do that.
We just not going to make them like Steph makes them.
And I think people feel they can relate to him because he's not doing what those guys are doing.
That's my only thing.
But Steph Curry, to shoot a fadeaway three, you have to be strong.
Just try it.
You're not going to make it.
And with somebody seven foot jumping trying to block it, you got to be real strong to do that.
Yes.
Thank you for saying that because it's important.
It's tough.
I can't tell you how many people are like, no, I could shoot that.
No, you could not.
I almost want to line it up and have people try and do it just from an NBA court.
Like, just shoot it.
When you're a professional, just being a professional athlete at any level,
guys that don't play are way better than the average person.
Oh, yeah.
The worst player on any, on the worst team's roster is, it's astronomically better than you.
They don't understand that.
With dunk on your face 10 out of 10 times and not even break a sweat.
Thank you, T.J.
Yeah, that's a fact.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tapped Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam Jek.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how
we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
and we're still chasing it, and we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you
here on earth, or are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

Joy Taylor in for Colin Cowherd.
Let's get to Alex Curry with the news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
Will the Bears?
be running a new offense this season under their new head coach, and Justin Fields didn't sound
very confident in the bear's progress when asked about the upcoming season.
Are you ready for the season to start?
No.
Ready for the season to start.
You know, I'm the type of guy to like to know that I'm prepared.
So right now, I'm just being honest, we're not ready to play a game right now.
So, but when that time comes, we will be ready.
So right now, no, I'm not ready to play game.
Now, anytime you have a new leader, it's going to take some time.
Okay.
I appreciate the honesty here and that he's not saying, oh, no, we're going to be fine.
It's going to be great.
You have a new head coach and you have a new offensive coordinator.
It's different.
And they received a lot of criticism this offseason for not getting the pieces
that you need to surround Justin Fields with the kind of talent that he needs to get them to that next level.
It is what it is.
It's going to take time.
And I think that's kind of what you saw there in an honest response.
I love his honesty.
Yeah.
It still makes me a little.
I mean, I was nervous before this.
Yeah, yeah.
But I like that he's being honest.
Look, I don't trust the bears.
There's nothing the bears have done recently that would make me trust them.
I love Justin Fields.
I thought he showed real promise and potential.
And part of the reason why I don't trust the bears is how it started with Justin Fields.
You got Justin Fields.
What are we talking about Andy Dalton for?
Why am I talking about Andy Dalton?
What are we talking about here?
And that's the type of stuff that drives me insane.
It's the same thing the dolphins did with Tua.
you're stunning development and I don't want to see it or hear about it.
It doesn't matter if they struggle.
They're supposed to struggle.
They're not supposed to come in and be awesome day one.
That's unrealistic expectations.
You want to see potential.
You want to see talents.
You want to see growth throughout the season.
I have very high hopes for Justin Fields, but I doubt the bears very much.
Yeah.
This is a situation where time will tell.
Yes.
We'll have to see.
But hopefully they get done in time and don't squander the start of his career.
Exactly.
All right, switching gears.
The Celtics are down 3-2 against the Warriors,
but they aren't losing faith in their chances
as they prepare for game 6 in Boston tomorrow.
We know what we need to do.
We know what we've been messing up on.
Like you said, we've been in before,
got the most confidence in everybody in that locker room.
Just going back to what the OG said.
Just got to look each other in the eye now.
Our backs against the wall.
At this point, we didn't work incredibly hard.
All season to put ourselves in this position.
I still feel like we have.
so much more better basketball to play that we haven't played in the last two games.
And I'm hoping that the next two games we play Celtic basketball and put our best foot forward like I know we can.
I'm going to have to nicely disagree with Williams.
They have not been here before.
Coming into this finals, the Boston roster had zero finals experience.
Yes, they've been in a series before where they've been down and come back.
But the finals is a different beast.
And this is where experience matters not only mentally,
but as a core to work together to know how to turn things around
in the biggest moment of your life, of your career,
to reach everything you have worked for in your life
to be an NBA champion.
The good thing for them, they are favored in game six by four points,
according to Fox bet.
For my sake, in my bet, I hope I pick the Warriors in six.
I hope they come out and win.
But I do have a gut feeling this is going to go to game seven.
I think it's going to go to game seven.
I do think Boston is going to play their best game in game six and force a game seven.
I wouldn't be surprised if it went either way.
I would not be surprised if Golden State closed it out because of the experience factor that you mentioned.
But I do think my prediction is that it's going to go seven and that Boston will win tomorrow night.
But you're right.
They haven't been there before.
They've been in elimination games before, but they haven't been in the finals against the Golden State Warriors.
Who have the most finals experience as a core.
team in the NBA. Yeah, I'm with you there. I think that they just can't beat themselves. You can't
have the turnovers. You can't, you can't go on the, let Golden State go on runs. That's what
Boston has been doing is beating themselves. If they can clean that up, I think they'll get the game
six win. It's going to be a fun one. And Jason Tatum has to have a big night. Yeah, it's going to be a fun
one. All right. Well, last week, Live Golf held its first tournament, and there has been a lot of talk
about the players who have chosen to play in it. And Brooks Kepka doesn't appreciate it overshadowed.
the upcoming U.S. Open.
I'm here at the U.S. Open.
I'm ready to play the U.S. Open.
So, and I think it kind of sucks, too.
Y'all are throwing this black cloud over the U.S. Open.
And, I mean, it's one of my favorite events.
And I don't know why you guys keep doing that.
But, you know, more like you give it,
the more you keep talking about it.
I think that sucks.
I actually do feel bad for him for once.
Right.
Because it's, I mean, it's a situation.
like we're here to play and you're talking about some event that happened last week
you know the saying any press is good press well right now everybody is talking about golf
and that is not the case most of the time it's a very interesting situation i feel like people
are very strongly on one side or the other very polarizing yes but i would not put it on the media
i understand brooks's frustration but it's everyone thinks like the media we get like our agenda
is she? Like here Joy, here's your agenda to push today. That's not how it works.
Although it would be very easy to believe. There's no agenda being pushed here. People are talking
about it. Therefore, the reporters are asking about it. And of course, this very much affects the
tour that you're on. So you're going to be asked about it. That's why what's what happens when
controversial things are going on. And yes, it is going to overshadow what's happening right now
because this is a big story. To your point, not all press is bad press.
it is being discussed.
There is extra attention being paid to the guys
that are staying on the tour and why.
I mean, I gave my opinion earlier.
I think money talks and...
I'm with you there.
I'm not going to judge someone
who's going to take hundreds of millions of dollars
to do what they do for a living.
Exactly. Now, I think the reason it's such a big deal,
obviously, is the PGA has suspended all the players
who have joined Live from participating in events
at all PGA levels.
But again, as an athlete, you have a specific time in your life
to be able to earn this kind of money.
It is not anyone else's
No one else can have an opinion
I believe. It is that one person,
that athlete's choice, what they want to do with their life,
how they want to earn their money.
And if that's what they want to do,
that's on you.
Well, they're not the Avengers.
No.
Hold politicians to that standard.
Hold community leaders to that standard.
They are golfers.
They're not Superman.
Okay?
They're not Captain America.
They go out and golf.
That's what they get paid.
to do. So where your check comes from, you might be surprised
is not as squeaky clean as you would expect. So this passing judgment
and saying I wouldn't take this money or that money, really the only people's
opinion that I truly care about are the other golfers who are staying on the tour.
Because anyone else, quite frankly, telling me what you would do or wouldn't do if someone
offered you $125 million check is a waste of everyone's time. If someone walked up to you
and gave you $125 million, there's very few things you wouldn't do. I'm going to tell you
that right now. It sounds good, sounds wonderful, but I just don't believe you. So yes, I mean,
obviously I could ran about this all day. But I get Brooks's frustration, but it's just, it is what it is.
This is what happens when you have controversial stories. That's Alex Curry with the news.
Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by. The Heard Lye News. Should we do a quick,
best for last? Should we do that? Call an audible? All right, let's do it. Best for Last, oh, joy or
oh boy? All right, Alex, what's the first one? First one. Steph Curry's legacy.
is set no matter what happens in these finals.
Okay, oh joy, I agree.
Oh, boy, if I disagree.
So, oh joy, I agree.
He's a two-time MVP,
only unanimous MVP, three-time NBA champion.
I don't need to go over Steph Curry's resume.
I do think it will be an extra jewel in the crown
if he wins finals MVP,
but he is an all-time great player
and transform the game no matter what happens in these finals.
I'm with you there, Jason Tatum,
will never be considered a superstar.
Oh, boy, I disagree.
He's a very, very young player.
He's only 24 years old.
I don't think that his personality is going to change much.
I think this is who Jason Tatum is.
He's a little bit on the quieter side.
He's not a Draymond Green type.
He's not a, you know, Kobe or a Michael.
But he has his own style, and there's plenty of basketball left to play.
He could very much go on a terror for the next two games and win finals MVP.
So he absolutely has potential to grow into a superstar.
I think he's right at that level.
knocking on the door, but I disagree
that he won't ever be considered a superstar.
Clay Thompson will never return
to the clay we once knew.
Oh boy. That means no.
I mean, he's coming off a torn ACL
and an Achilles. Can we give him a little bit more
time? Seriously. He's already had
moments where he looks like old clay, and
I think once he gets through a whole other off-season
healthy, gets back into the routine of things
completely, he will be right where
he was before. Jalen Brown
should win MVP if the Celtics
win the series. If it keeps going the
it is and Jason Tatum doesn't have the big night that I think he's going to have tomorrow
night. I think I agree. I mean, he's, he's been amazing. He had a team high 27 points and the
game three went over the Warriors. He's shooting 49% from the field going 25, 8 and 5. I don't know.
I think I would have to give it to Jaylon at this point.
Draymond Green's offense is becoming too much of a liability. Oh, boy, I disagree. I mean,
he scored eight points, made three of six field goals in the game five win. He's not a guy.
you go to for offense. If he happens to have a big game, great. But he's struggled. That's fair to say,
but he's not somebody you go to for offense. So him bringing that is not something that you should be
concerned about. He's an energy guy. Robert Williams is a top five defender who was snubbed out of
NBA, all defense first team. I disagree. He missed a lot of time this year. So I think that's why he was,
he was on the NBA second defensive team. And he's been unbelievable. If you had an most outstanding player
and most valuable player,
I would give most outstanding to Jalen Brown
and most valuable at this point to Robert
Williams. But, I mean, he did miss
some time this year. So he's been unbelievable.
So was Andrew Wiggins, which you didn't get to.
Well, thanks for hanging out with me today.
Alex, sorry, Alex, we got to go.
All right, all right, I didn't know the time.
I know, I'm so excited.
Well, enjoy your trip.
