This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with
Robert Smygel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Winning on Clay is an art. The rallies are relentless. And at the French Open, only the toughest
survive. I'd know. I competed there for decades. Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs tennis
podcast for no nonsense breakdowns of the biggest matches, the toughest players, and the moments that define
Roland Garris.
She's an outsider to win the French win. And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lina Rubakina is arguably the best player in the world right now. And I,
actually can win on any surface.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days I'd put on 10 pounds, I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Well, this is, you never know quite what you're getting as a reporter.
The day of the draft.
But there's a lot of stuff swirling.
Diana Rusini, weighing all of it, the athletic senior NFL insider,
covered the league for a decade.
Give me something today that just buzzing.
Is there a, you know, I heard Will Johnson is plummeting in the draft.
I thought he was such a good player at Michigan.
What are the hot rumors you hear,
and you're just not sure what to make of them?
Yeah, that's a good way to put it,
because you hear things,
and then you have to go check in on how much, you know,
truth there is behind it.
So there's some stuff running about Gen D.
Right now, the running back, perhaps,
getting a little bit more love at the top of the draft
than we expected.
I predicted, just based on some conversations
that the bears were targeting him, that they really liked him.
And there's a little chatter out there right now that the bears may be willing to move up to even go get him.
But I'm not ready to go that far.
The other one that I've consistently heard for the last few days, and I've even heard it from people there,
is that Jacksonville is going to be electric.
So I don't know how to define electric for you right now,
but they want to do something with that fifth pick, whether that means move up, perhaps,
maybe have a conversation with the Cleveland Browns for that number two spot.
Yet I don't really think if your Barry wants to move off that.
I really don't unless Jacksonville is willing to give up a lot.
But they apparently have something up their sleeve that's going to, you know,
cause some fireworks tonight.
So I'm hoping they follow through and this just isn't one big tease.
I'd say that.
And then, of course, the quarterbacks.
An hour ago, I saw someone talk about Chodor Sanders is back in at three for the Giants.
After almost 24, 48 hours now, we've been reporting that the Giants collectively had made a decision to move on and go best player available.
And I'm still pretty comfortable going with that, that they're going best player at three.
They're still in the market for a quarterback, of course.
But I see them just trying to trade back in to get one, if anything, which I know they're currently making calls at this moment.
Okay.
The Rams last year tried to move up to get Brock Bowers.
They went and got Matt Stafford, Devonte Adams.
There's rumors they're frustrated with Kyron Williams,
fumbling. They're not really wildly productive at Tide End. There's two big time
tight ends, three potential first round running backs. What about the Rams? In my mock draft,
I had them moving up to get Loveland, but I also think the Broncos love him and the Chargers
love him, the Michigan tight end. What do you make of the Rams? Last year, there was a lot of
talk they were moving up. In fact, I got it validated. They were very interested in Brock Bowers.
Guess who told you? Me on your show last year. That's right. We did it. We were
We were on the show, actually, when I got the text and we were talking about it.
And, you know, eventually later, I think the Rams wound up coming out with it a little bit.
Or I think they shared it in one of their behind-the-scenes videos.
Either way, you look even back, forget even last year when we talked about the Brock Power's potential trade-up for it.
The year before that, remember, they were trying to get Dalton Concade who wound up in Buffalo.
So they're over two right now in trying to trade up to get the tight end that they want.
And I think we've all covered and seen less sneed for a while.
we know his personality kind of just goes after it.
So to me, just knowing that they met with five different of these tight ends coming up,
that they like it, there's a need.
It just makes a lot of sense.
Now, let me preface this with almost every team I'm talking to right now,
with the exception of maybe one or two, are trying to trade out, right?
So I think if, let's just say, the New York Giants call the Rams to try to get up,
I think less is going to take that deal and try.
try to get out just because they know they can get a tight end in the later rounds.
But that being said, I think if they're stuck there and perhaps this thing shakes out a little
while tonight, I could certainly see the Rams trying to get aggressive to move up to get one
of these tight ends.
You talked to some people inside the league.
What are they saying about the draft overall?
That it's weak compared to last year.
I had one coach say this is one of the lightest drafts he's seen in his years,
and he's been a coach in the NFL for over 10 years at least.
I had another coach say there aren't a lot of Robert De Niro's here,
which one ages this coach,
but also tells you that his point essentially is there's not a lot of big headliners.
There's not a lot of stars and not a lot of guys that stand out outside those three, right,
of Cam Ward, Abdul Carter, and Travis Hunter.
Those are really the three.
And then after that, you know, the Shador Sanders sort of rock star name makes this exciting.
But in terms of the actual talent, there's not a lot of past catchers.
There's not a lot of great quarterbacks.
They're just really strong players in the trenches.
And that's where I think a lot of these teams are trying to be organized in this draft in building,
not just getting one offensive lineman, but getting two or three.
Also knowing the prices of these positions have gone up.
so much in free agency, that getting some of these young guys build, bring them in, make them
one of their own, and continue to build on that. This is this type of draft where they think they can
do well there. Yeah. So if Shadur drops to the Steelers, which we're hearing, does that affect
Aaron Rogers at all who, you know, is ambiguous. You're not trying to guess what Aaron wants
is impossible unless you're a guess in a very tight inner circle. But if Shadour went there to Pittsburgh,
What does it mean for Aaron?
I don't believe the Pittsburgh Steelers are doing anything tonight with any regard to Aaron Rogers.
I think they're 100% operating as if Aaron's not going to be here because they have to, right?
So look, they still feel good they're going to get him.
But until he's a Pittsburgh Steeler, he's not a Pittsburgh Steeler.
And we saw him talk in the Pat McAfee show about some of the personal stuff he's dealing with.
And we'll take his word for that.
And I know the Steelers are aware of it.
and they're going to allow him to handle those personal situations until he's ready.
But while he's doing that, time is going by.
And training camp is going to be here before you know it.
You know, we obviously have the OTAs now.
And I do wonder, I don't know this,
and I know I have a shared thought around the league.
A lot of people have said this as well,
that maybe Aaron's just waiting for a better opportunity, a better team,
a team that he thinks he can step in and win.
But for the Steelers, they're building.
this thing. They've got two superstar receivers on their team right now. One, they just traded
and spent a lot of money on. They need to get a quarterback that's not just Mason Rudolph,
and they know that. And in that regard, by the way, I know there's a little scuttlebutt about
George Pickens. Right. That they're looking to shop him and trade him. From my conversations,
nobody's called them. No one's called for George Pickens yet. So maybe that'll change by the time
we get to the draft tonight, because that's usually when it starts to heat up when we're on the
but for right now, George Pickens is a Pittsburgh stealer,
and I don't get the sense from Pittsburgh,
they're quick to get a move on this.
They traded for D.K. Metcalf,
knowing George Pickens is here,
and purposely trying to amp up this offense.
They're not going to try to move another wide receiver
so they have another need here,
especially in a draft that they don't think that they can get one.
Okay, Dallas Cowboys, I said earlier,
I think they're going to rebuild.
I think if you have a bad O line,
which was bad before Zach Martin left,
retired,
don't think you, I think the best teams in this league, we showed a graphic earlier,
the best O-lines in football of the top 10, nine teams made the playoffs or eight or nine
teams made the playoffs.
In an offensive league, if you can't get push on third down, if you can't protect your
stark quarterback, you're not a good team.
They got a bad O line.
My guess is they would take a call on Micah, but everybody's got them taking a running
back, and I get it, there's a need.
Is there a chance they would take a swing or move down, that they're just active in
round one do you believe? Yeah, I think they're going to be active. I think they're going to take a
player. Look, we talk a lot on the show about the Cowboys and we're tough on them for a lot of good
reason. But this is where they're stars. This is where they do well. They don't spend a lot of money
in free agency. But Jerry and Stephen Jones, they do a nice job of finding players. And this is
where they can shine. You know, you bring up the point of they rebuilding here, or they closer to
that at least. They certainly are, especially with the situations that they have, the holes that
they have. They don't want to believe that they think there are a few pieces away,
but I can see them continuing to focus on the offense. That is really where they need to get
better. And from just having some conversations around the league, it seems that wide receiver
is going to be the position that they're going to try to look at. Obviously, you know,
the other part of this, Colin, and I had some conversations with coaches today about it,
look, the board is going to move so much.
And we can all say we know what teams are going to do, but we really don't.
And everyone's got plan one, two, and three, depending on what happens.
And then the overarching storyline above this, which it's there and it's not that sexy,
but it's there, is Kirk Cousins, right?
Because if a team trades with Atlanta over the next few days for Kirk Cousins,
that's going to change their need for quarterback, which then affects what
they're taking, who they're taking, and what other teams are then going to do.
So that's one of the stories I'm keeping an eye on and trying to stay close to because I know
how much it's going to affect a couple of these rounds here, especially in regard to
quarterback.
So you've got the Cleveland Browns, the Minnesota Vikings, and the Pittsburgh Steelers,
who've all had conversations with Atlanta about a possible trade for Kirk.
So it's just something that you've got to keep an eye on.
Yeah.
The whole thing's interesting.
I heard going back, I heard Jacksonville really wanted Travis Hunter this month.
morning was really interested. So you're,
I said electric, right? That would be, I would put that in as electric.
Yes. You know, I've had a general manager not in Jacksonville say, you know,
when I was just tossing that idea, like, what do you think of Jacksonville doing this?
His response was, that's a lot. That's a lot to move up for a position player that, you know,
we're not sure how Jacksonville would use them. I do know Jacksonville wants an offensive player.
So it would make sense that Travis Hunter would go there and be a wide receiver for them.
Obviously, we know the player wants to play both sides of the ball.
So maybe that's something that this new regime would be open to.
But if there's a team that is going to make a statement tonight, that certainly can be it.
If they do that, right, but then think about it.
So Travis Hunter goes to, we'll say the Browns move out.
We still go back to what are the Browns going to be doing at quarterback.
I still think that's going to be a question, right?
because you got Joe Flacco there, you have Kenny Pickett.
You have Deshawn there, but you know, that situation at this point.
I still think they're going to try to get someone somewhere.
We didn't talk about the Saints.
I know we talked about Chador.
And there was some scuttlebutt about the Saints possibly showing interest in him.
I feel pretty confident at this hour telling you that they are not going quarterback with that
pick at 9, that they are going best player available.
and if they had a choice today, it would be defense.
They're redoing their front, so they need some players.
Cam Jordan's getting older.
But I do think they're in the market for a quarterback.
I just don't think it's going to be with their first pick there, you know, in the top 10.

Hey, it's us, the Jonas brothers, and guess what?

Huge news.
We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to a...
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
And...
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Diana Rusini, such a fun night.
Great talking to you, always.
Thank you, Diana.
I'm glad that you think it's so fun.
It stresses me out.
It stresses me out.
I just sit here.
I'm going to have a Corona and Hineken or something and watch the whole thing.
I'm excited.
I know.
Instead of me sitting here in cold New Jersey, I'm going to come out to California,
have a cocktail with you, one draft.
But let's plan for it in the future.
We'll have our own war room, all the cool people.
Yeah, I love it.
Let's do it.
Small group.
There you go, the athletic Diana Rusini.
J. Mack, by the way, good NBA night.
Nuggets play the Clippers tonight.
Knicks early game.
I'm going to watch the first half of the Knicks intently against the Pistons.
We both like, so even, I think we've done three days.
days in a row, three games in a row. So we both like the Knicks tonight, minus one and a half.
I'm a little freaked out about the half point, so I want minus one with a little juice.
Okay, what about the Clippers Nuggets? What's the line on?
I'm not touching that. I don't understand that series at all. I think I saw five and a half. I don't have it up.
Sorry. It might be three and a half.
Cleper's getting five and a half? I'll have to look. Listen, Denver at home in the altitude,
different story. Or is the game here in L.A.? No, it's in L.A. What am I talking about?
Yeah, I'm looking into some of this draft stuff. Sorry, I was off.
off there. It's okay.
Off there.
It's fun.
J-Mack with the news.
No.
No. No. No. No.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
The first story, Colin, is about the Dallas Cowboys.
And listen, there's no way to slice this.
They've been terrible this off-season.
Yet, you know, you got the Jones family.
Jerry Jones said he's been working on substantial trades.
And now Stephen Jones spoke out and said they've handled this off-season much better than last.
Ooh.
I think we did a, you know, over.
overall a much better job than, I say, last year of really, you know, doing quite a bit of volume in terms of really improving our roster and giving us, you know, the opportunity and having an environment where we can pick the best player.
And I think our work we did in free agency is going to really pay off.
I think it's going to make us a deeper football team one way or the other.
I do not see it at all.
What they see and what I see, maybe I'm just off.
I don't think it's a top 10 roster.
I don't think it's a top 15 offensive line.
Right.
So these are all the moves they've made on the screen here.
Sorry, radio audience, but it's...
None of those glaries are worth.
I think Javonte Williams is a decent running back.
I like him.
Decent what?
He's a two at best.
Yeah, he's a number two running back.
But they have a two, they can get a one in the draft.
But they lost doubtle.
No, I'm saying if they went and got Hampton,
and then they had Giovante Williams.
They've solved their running back room.
That's a good, that's a good.
But they haven't solved their offensive line room.
No, their wide receiver room.
Like, they've got so many problems.
Kair Elam was like, you know, he could barely get on the field last year.
Dante Fowler Jr.
A little long in the tooth.
Joe Milton?
I mean, come on.
I think they, I think Javante Williams signals they want another back.
They want to solve the running back room.
Wait, you also see Miles Sanders there, the running back from, I think he was a Carolina.
he's a bounce around the league guy.
He's a three.
So they picked up two running backs.
He's a three.
I don't know, man.
You can't convince me this is like a seven win team.
Well, and they lost key players.
DeMarcus Lawrence, Zach Martin.
Rico Dattle was a good player for them.
That was solid.
He's a solid guy.
Yeah, I know.
He's better than Giovante Williams.
Sorry.
I mean, Solomon Thomas was with the Jets for a minute.
He's not good.
Kenneth Murray is probably the best guy they picked up, I think.
And linebackers, I don't know what the value is.
So it's almost like these.
guys, it's like politicians. If you lie enough, people start to believe it. You can just
keep saying, hey, we've had a great off season. We're doing all this stuff. It's great. We're making
all these moves. And eventually people will believe that you've had a good off season. But
smart people like you and I can see through this nonsense. Yeah, I just don't think it's a very good
roster. And they're giving away draft picks left and right. Milton, Lance, Mingo. Who is the
receiver? Mingo. You have a fourth round pick. Well, they don't have a fourth round pick tonight,
or this weekend. It's like, guys, fourth round pick.
for you could be a number two corner.
What are you doing?
Very shady.
Let's go to now the Denver Broncos.
They hold a 20th pick in tonight's draft.
According to Ian Rappaport, Denver is one of the teams late in the draft looking to move up.
Rappaport believes they're targeting wide receiver Matthew Golden from Texas.
He is really talented.
I think he's going to Dallas.
I guess the Broncos are hot for him and want to move up.
Now there is a report that Omerian Hampton earlier this morning
was the betting favorite to be drafted by the Broncos.
Again, these betting lines are moving with a win.
You know, like, I don't know.
If I got Bo Necks, I'm going for a wide receiver.
I don't know about a running back.
Who are the two running backs that you like?
There's a USC guy that you can get later in the draft.
Woody marks, there's a lot of backs.
I would say Denver, I think they would go Colston Loveland.
I think they would like a clever piece to go with Cortland Sutton.
I think they'll get a running back.
I mean, let's face it, once you get the quarterback, they've got their left tackle.
They've got their number one receiver.
Once you get the quarterback, you got to make it work.
So their running back room currently is Jaliel McLaughlin, who flashed last year.
He was okay.
Estimee, who their wide receivers are Cortland Sutton, Marvin Mims, and Velley.
That's not a strong wide receiver.
Well, they also have Franklin from Oregon.
He's like listed as fourth on the depth chart.
Well, he was disappointed.
And then they picked up Evan Ingram, the tight end in free agency.
He was good last year for Jacksonville.
Yeah.
So like, I don't know.
They, Bo Nix needs some help on the outside.
I would go get him another receiver.
Well, I don't think there were, I think Mims and Cortland Sutton are nice players.
Mims is sort of one dimensional.
He's a burner, but he can't do much other than the straight line action.
I like Sutton.
I would go after Golden.
Open it up.
I like Nick.
You've turned me on him.
I was kind of lukewarm on him and you hyping the heck out of him.
Well, I don't think I hyped him.
I just alerted you to the clear truth that was available to everybody.
Yeah.
Final story, Colin, is to the NBA.
Lakers are now knotted with the wolves at one apiece after Luca absolutely roasted every defender in his path for 31, 12, and 9.
I think you and I believe that Luca is the best teammate LeBron's ever had, right?
However, there's a writer named Tom Haberstro who said that Luke,
Luca's 34 points per game in his two playoff games with LeBron,
partially makes him the best teammate LeBron has ever had.
LeBron has never had a teammate this good.
I fully agree.
I don't think that's that hot of a take.
I mean, Dwayne Wade's a Hall of Fame.
I think Luca's a much better overall player than Wade, no.
Well, no, no.
Luca is the most gifted offensive player.
LeBron's ever played with.
Kairie would be second.
and then I would say D-Wade and AD are tied for third.
Kyrie's an unbelievable player.
Luca is a bigger body and I think is a greater pure score.
LeBron's had a lot of good teams.
Let's be honest.
He's had DeWade, Bosch, Kyrie Irving, Luca, AD.
Kevin Love.
But he had to create those teams.
He tried in Cleveland for what eight years.
They couldn't get him a second star.
Nobody wants to go to Cleveland.
He had to create his own teams.
Yeah.
You didn't mention DeLovine.
Juante West.
Or whoever, Adronus Zalgaskis and side show ball.
I mean, I would say Luca is the greatest scoring talent he's ever had.
But you're not going to get me to badmouthed D-Water AD.
They're both Hall of Fame first ballot guys.
Let me just, your whole Kyrie is the second best, most offensively skilled, gifted, whatever after Luca.
Listen, Kyrie has never been the number one on a team that went anywhere in the playoffs.
Dwayne Wade won a championship as the alpha.
I think he's a better overall offensive player than Kyrie.
Sorry.
Well, I think Kyrie's much more skilled.
I think Duane's a better overall player.
He's more durable.
He's more physical.
He could fit with multiple stars.
Kyrie gets hurt a lot, but Kyrie is your classic.
You know, you go into a gym and everybody's like, what is that?
Yeah.
I mean, he is all-time skilled, but he's a small athlete that doesn't defend and gets hurt a lot.
And that's his career.
But, you know, again, Hall of Famer.
Let me ask.
Iverson or Kyrie?
Kyrie.
Really?
More gifted.
Just a reminder, Alan Iverson took the Sixers to the finals
and his second best player was Mutumbo.
Kyrie Irving has never done anything as a leader of a team.
Never.
It's close.
I'd take Kyrie.
I think Kyrie's a better offensive player.
Can you get them to put that poll on social, Iverson or Kyrie?
That is interesting.
I don't think it's close.
It's got to be.
I get four responses on draft night.
But go ahead.
I think it's close.
There's things about Iverson I like.
I like his defense and his toughness.
And with Kyrie, I just love...
What about his practice habits?
I don't care about that.
I'm kidding.
I'm joking.
J. Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Heard Lye News.
Yeah, you know, Dee Wade's one of those guys that he is...
There's so much dexterity to what he did.
I mean, D. Wade was an elite defender for his size, elite rebounder, smart,
played with multiple star.
D. Wade could play with anybody.
Hold on, real quick.
Just got the Clippers line.
Clippers at home tonight.
Let me guess.
Let me guess.
Let me guess.
Minus four and a half.
It's five.
It was five and a half down to five.
So some nuggets money coming in.
There's some question about Michael Porter, Jr.
Who got dinged up last game?
I would take the Clippers.
This series is crazy good, man.
By the way, close games.
I wonder what happens.
I would take the Knicks minus one to one and a half.
Yep.
And I would take the Clippers as a favorite minus five.
What about OKC minus nine and a half?
I'm not to stand away from that mess.
That's a mess.
So TNT picked that game to televise over Clippers Nuggets.
I don't know what those executives are thinking.
That's a crazy decision.
Both Nuggets Clippers games have been sensational.
Yeah, right down to the end.
And it's all a bunch of, like, name marquee players.
It's like Yokic, Murray, Kauai, Hard.
You got a star.
Even the role players like Batum have been around forever.
Michael Porter Gordon.
That is a great first round series.
I don't get this OKC Memphis.
That's like unwatchable.
You know the team that gets no respect is Janus and Milwaukee.
They got a title.
They put them first game up all the time.
Yeah.
That series, I'm telling you.
It's got to get out of there, man.
The most under-discussed team in the NBA that's good, though, is Indiana.
The Pacers have- They're awesome.
They've got a ton of talent.
There's a report that Janus will hold his going-away party at the Dells in Wisconsin
when he's leaving.
That shopping mall?
By the way,
nicest people in the world of Wisconsin.
It's beautiful.
I went to a golf course
on the water up there.
It's beautiful.
Wisconsin's beautiful.
You took the private jet in,
played golf in the left.
I don't private jet anywhere.
My wife went there when,
you know,
as a kid,
they would go vacation,
you know,
in the Dells in Wisconsin.
It's not a shopping mall.
And Wisconsin is like one of the lakes everywhere.
You know,
maybe this summer,
if we go to Chicago,
we could do a weekend,
in Dells, Wisconsin.
We couldn't know, whatever that is.
With me in Chicago, you'll have fun.
Chicago's on the water, too.
I'm just saying Wisconsin's one of those states that it gets overlooked.
Rhode Islands like that.
It's like, no, go to Rhode Island and Wisconsin in the summer.
It's about as good as it gets.
As good as it gets?
Oh, I'm telling you, in the summer, Wisconsin?
Oh, yeah.
They got beers.
Nobody else in America has beers in the summer.
Cowherd, what are you doing?
All right.
Rhode Island in Wisconsin.
Midwesterner.
Okay.
You know.
All right.
Live in LA, it's the herd.

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, news?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a new?
name Hey Jonas, guys.
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
We were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say,
Hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy,
not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

ever come across. When Jacob met Levin this went to a billion dollar fraud. But with two kings

Jacob told Levan, you're ruining my life.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind.
Highlights are trending, opinions are flying, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo.
Every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the plays, the controversies, and the stories behind the headlines.
We go straight to the source, the athlete themselves.
Their locker room stories, their reactions, the stuff nobody gets to hear.
The laughs, the drama, the triumphs, the moments that never make the highlight real.
From viral moments to historic games, from buzzer beaters to controversial calls, we break it down,
give you context, and ask the questions everybody wants answered.
Sports Slice brings you closer to the action with stories told by the people who live them.

So there's an article that came out.
I think it was Tom Pelliserra.
What is the other day?
And an assistant coach hammered shooter Sanders and said he wasn't one of the
worst interviews I've ever had.
And at the time, I just said, you know, take a deep breath.
We get all these all the time.
You know, you're just looking for information.
But Joel Clatt, he touched on something earlier today.
I had mentioned it briefly.
I feel kind of the same way he does on this.
of the harsh criticism that Shadur Sanders is the worst interview ever,
and there's all sorts of problems.
Here's Joel.
We're teaching kids that the biggest issue or thing that they should be concerned about
is their brand and how much money they're making.
So then a lot of them make a lot of money in college football,
and then they sit in these meetings in the draft process
with these assistant coaches that they make 10 times more money then.
And they're like, I don't.
Like, who are you?
There's a lot of bitter assistant coaches in the National Football League that have not made a ton of money and they have not moved up the ladder.
And then these kids walk in and they don't kiss their butts.
And so then they run around to the next guy that'll write an article for them and they start talking about how this kid's interviews were terrible.
I think that exists.
Jay Mack and I have talked about that.
I don't give a lot of people oxygen on the internet.
There's a lot of bitterness, especially when it's anonymous.
Now, I've had to cover up.
I don't give the names of a lot of the executives I talk to.
And the reason being is that's how I get information.
Because sometimes they want your opinion too.
Like what do you say?
I mean, right now, you know, if I talk to somebody, they don't, they'll ask me
question.
What do you think?
What do you make?
They just want everybody's opinion.
I don't think, I mean, I didn't see anything that indicated.
And I defended Caleb Williams last year.
I knew Caleb pretty well.
Every interaction I had with Caleb Williams, he was a gentleman.
I mean, I remember walking into a Notre Dame USC.
sweet this year, and Caleb was in the first row, and I just walked down to him and just said,
hey, so I wanted to say hi. He got up. He didn't have to do that. Shook my hand. How are you doing?
And I was like, bro, sit down. You enjoy the game. You know, again, thoughtful. From what I've
heard was Shadur, he's a thoughtful kid. He's a nice kid. He's a hard worker. I don't necessarily
buy that. Some of that stuff sounds personal. But I do think Joel's bigger point is these kids don't
come in and grovel as much, and that's the reality of it. They've got a bigger bank account than
some of these coaches. Now, do I think you should kind of just, you know, yes or no, sir? Yeah,
that's probably, you know, I mean, listen, we've all had to kiss the ring to management at some
point in our lives. Like, it's not the biggest thing for 15 minutes to nod, shake your head. And,
you know, we all have different personalities based on the room we're in, right? And who we're talking to.
So I think it shows some self-awareness if you're humble, even though somebody's driving you crazy.
These are brief interviews.
You're not sitting there for four hours.
But I don't buy a lot.
The stuff that always turns me off is the stuff I can see.
And I always had this theory that if a couple is arguing at a party, what is it like on the drive home?
Like if you can't hide your animosity or lack of respect for your partner at a part of
party, what is it like at your home? And I kind of feel that way, if you can't control your
decision making or your judgment, when the game is going on, that worries me. You know, how many
times in your life, think about this, J. Mac, how many times in your life have you, you know, you go,
you talk to somebody. And even in boxing, you have three different judges, every one of them
different side of the ring, and they all have different perspectives. But one of the things I've
noticed is
I've interviewed people for my company
and had multiple people at my company
interview people and we all have a different perception
of what the person's like.
That's why resumes are matter.
Resumies matter. But I mean, you can interview somebody
and what is arrogant to you is confident to me.
So like Baker Mayfield interviewed incredibly well.
He was really smart,
looked in the eye,
very confident.
confident, great on the whiteboard. A couple people said, little cocky, which he was when he played,
but the people that I talked to that I trusted are like, he's very, he was better than Donald in the
interviews. And people took his personality as confidence. They didn't take, you know, one person said,
you know, he's Oklahoma cocky. You know, he's got that little, little chip on his shoulder thing.
But the other two people I talked to were like, he's just, he was hard not to like.
Well, what if you had a given Baker $8 million in his bank account because of the NIL,
would Baker have been even more confident?
And that confidence just moved the meter to arrogance.
So I think these kids are coming in now.
They don't grovel like they used to.
How much does the setting matter?
If you're meeting someone in an office for a formal interview versus going in a car ride with them somewhere
versus having a meal with them, I think that can matter and change the situation.
I like to see how people interact with waiters.
You know?
Oh, same.
Somebody smart once told me, you see somebody treat a waiter badly?
No, please, no thank you.
Talking gruff, just know that's coming your way eventually.
I told you before.
I've dropped friendships on poor tippers.
If you are a poor tipper, it's like, well, I don't, that's say, I don't like people.
I was a poor college kid.
I didn't have any much money.
So I wasn't tipping the pizza guy every single time.
Sorry, I didn't have different.
But people that I, people that I know do well for themselves and treat help poorly or tip poor.
That's a bad sign.
It's a bad sign.
Just like, listen, I'm that kind of guy.
And then validated.
Well, I thought, no, no, no, you're cheap.
You don't respect people.
That's good.
How about this?
Somebody's coming out of Starbucks.
I'm going in.
I hold the door for them.
If they don't say thank you, I turn and say, you're welcome.
So they know, like, that's protocol.
That's how you treat people.
That's how you are nice in a culture and a setting.
And like, if, you know, Shadour Sanders going to the interview and being kind of not friendly,
I don't know that I want that guy as my quarterback.
I personally like him, but I have an interview.
you know yeah i the the stuff is i mean some people i think shadur's dad i think dion has given him
enough wisdom in life because of deion's had such a wild varied i mean he's done everything he's
coached he's played he's broadcasted i mean deon's been around the block so dion has so much
life experience i am sure he has imparted some of his wisdom to his son so my guess is
Shadur didn't walk in and get real cocky.
I don't buy that.
Also, Shadur probably also grew up in a mansion, driving a really nice car in high school,
and then he gets to college, and he's got the NIL money flowing.
So he's been pretty well.
He's nothing points to Shadur being like a hungry coming from the mean streets of wherever,
like working his way up.
He's always kind of had it pretty nice, right?
What's your line about satin sheets and boxers?
Well, Marvin Hagler said it's hard to get up to train at five in the morning
when you're sleeping in silk sheets.
Once you're a champion,
you know, Connor McGregor,
you got all that money,
the whiskey brand.
I'm not saying you mail it in,
but it's a little harder to instill that.
He was like a plumber on his way up.
Wasn't he,
Conner McGregor?
His story's incredible.
And then he gets to the top,
and it's like,
you know,
a little different story.
I don't know.
What about my guy,
Jalen Milro?
No chatter about him at all.
Well,
he is a wonderful kid,
and he's got a great family.
But when you watch him,
You can see the mechanical nature.
He's not a terribly rhythmic athlete.
He's just a wildly gifted, fast, explosive athlete.
But when you watch him throw the ball in college,
it looks uncomfortable.
It looks mechanical.
That being said, I did bet him to be drafted in the first round.
Not a significant bet.
But I'm just telling you, if you look at Lamar coming out of Louisville
and J. LaMille Millrow coming out of Alabama,
who's the better prospect?
Say it again.
Jaila Milrow coming out of college.
and Lamar coming out of college.
Oh, Lamar.
Lamar.
They were telling him to switch positions.
Well, one guy was.
A prominent former GM.
Well, I mean...
I think it's close.
I don't.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers.
I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
