Guaranteed Human.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
you get your podcast.
Just listen.
We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy.
Not quite.

Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind, and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where SportsSlice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode, we're cutting through the noise, breaking down the biggest
moments in sports and giving you the real story behind the headline.
And we're going straight to the source, the athletes themselves, their locker room stories,
their reactions in the moment, and the stuff nobody gets to hear.
Listen to Sports Slice on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
And for more, follow Timbo Sliced Life 12 in the TikTok podcast network on TikTok.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

You still didn't tell me who was in a dunk contest this weekend.
Mack McClung.
Remember that high flying?
Is he in it? He's won it a couple times.
A couple other guys.
Yeah.
I went to a dunk contest one.
I did see they just canceled the NBA versus WNBA three-point shooting thing.
Curry versus a WNBA player.
They were going to do it, but then they scrapped it.
Not great.
Is Caitlin Clark?
She's not. Come on. She's way too big for a three-point shooting contest, even against Curry. So she's not doing that.
No, I think against Curry would be fantastic.
And no win for Curry. No win for Curry.
So what's he doing?
I think it would be.
Caitlin Clark will get that monster TV rating, but it's not happening this year.
Maybe when it's an indie, she'll do it or something.
She probably wants to do it for the WNBA. Why would I want to help the NBA if I'm Caitlin Clark? I want to help the WNBA.
Well, to reach a new audience, I guess, of viewers, right?
a bunch of NBA fans who maybe
haven't, aren't familiar. It's interesting
because it's a huge platform
and if you beat Curry, it
would be one for the ages.
Yeah, I mean, Curry's secure
enough that I think he'd probably do it. He's like, dude, I'm a legend.
I'm a top 12th. I don't think so.
These guys literally, Rachel
Nichols told us yesterday,
they get worked up over who's the last guy
announced for the starting lineup.
LeBron like worries about that stuff.
Like if Caitlin Clark said, Jay Mack, I want to do
a three-point shooting contest with you,
I'm going to embarrass you.
I would still do it.
Like, that would be fun for me.
You're not Steph Curry.
I know.
It would be a huge win for you.
It's not, you know, years ago, I think it was Nike.
It was the agent David Falk.
Apparently something had been proposed for Michael Jordan to play Magic Johnson in a one-on-one game.
I think I heard about it.
And MJ said, no, no, no, no, no, no.
He said, Magic's already considered the better team.
guy. If he beat me in one-on-one, it is terrible for my brand. He goes, I don't think he would,
but I don't want to do that. So Michael Jordan, very smart, said, I'm not putting myself in that
spot because Magic was viewed as the better team guy, Jordan, the great one-on-one guy.
Well, if Magic beat him, you got both over it.
I think that's an antiquated way to look at things. Like, now in the current atmosphere, you
lose one-on-one. Who cares? Within a next week, there's 75 million other stories.
Let me ask you, why is LeBron never in the dump?
dunk contest.
Because he don't want to do it.
You know, you've got to be creative and a lot of energy.
And Michael Jordan won a dunk contest or two.
Back in the day, LeBron never won one.
And LeBron would be compared to MJ.
You can't just enter a dunk contest.
You've got to have like a game plan, some dunks that haven't been seen before.
You don't think LeBron's got those?
He probably does, but I don't know.
Why am I turning into a LeBron defender?
No, I'm just saying.
When Rachel Nichols acknowledged,
that the last guy announced for the Lakers,
is it LeBron or Luca?
And it matters.
What?
That's like me worrying about a parking space,
which people in our industry can worry about,
which I think is the dumbest thing in the world.
I know who you're talking about.
I'm not going to get in names.
I know who you're talking about.
Anyways, come on.
I almost had a great line.
Yeah, I know.
I know.
All right.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news,
huge news?
We created our own.
podcast called Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to a...
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how did we actually come up with a name Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys...
remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say,
Hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

J-Mack with a news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
All right, here we go.
Into the NFL offseason, Colin.
Fox Sports.com had an interesting article breaking down the top seven quarterbacks
under the most pressure to succeed next season.
Oh, okay.
Obviously, at the top of the list is Lamar Jackson, no doubt about it.
Number two, Josh Allen, again, no surprise.
Number three, mild surprise Justin Herbert?
No, I think people want that.
I would think Trevor Lawrence has got to be up there.
No, this is a pretty good list.
This is a pretty good list
Who did this?
Boxports.com
on Dack Prescott 4, 2.5.
Well, who wrote it?
I don't know.
Trevor Lawrence 6.
Anthony Richardson.
Why don't you give somebody credit?
I'll look it up.
I know if you wrote it, you'd tell me.
I would be bragging, yes.
I think this is, is there any pressure on DAC?
We know what DAC is.
I don't think there's pressure on that.
You mean the highest paid quarterback in the sport?
Yeah, there's pressure.
I guess.
I think there's pressure on Anthony Richardson
and to see if he can complete 50% of his throws.
What about Jared Goff?
No, we know what he is.
We do?
A guy who can't win the big game?
How about Brock Purdy going into a contract year?
I know, listen, and being good on a day it's overcast.
By the way, Ben Arthur is the author of this piece.
Where to go, Ben?
I think Brock Purdy should be on that list.
How's he under pressure?
He's been in a conference championships.
I'd like to see if every time it drizzles, his passer rating plummets.
Oh, here comes a cloud.
It's going to be a bad day.
Wednesday.
He was glass-hast.
He could play with overcast guys.
Thursday is just take shots at everyone.
Oh, my gosh.
All right.
Next up is your team of destiny for next season.
The New England Patriots, Colin.
New England brought in Mike Vrable as a head coach.
Josh McDaniels is going to be the OC.
They got a rebuild team culture, help guide Drake May into year two.
Kurt Warner, you guys remember him, obviously, recently discussed where he thinks McDaniels
will help Drake May the most.
Take a listen.
I think he's always going to give Drake options.
You know, the one thing that we would talk about with Tom a lot was, you know,
they would play a little bit more small ball.
They weren't this throw it down the field all the time.
And obviously when they had Randy and stuff.
But a lot of their offenses were, you know, kind of pick you apart and, you know,
and take what the defense gives you and giving Tom easy options more often than I think
Drake had this year.
And so that's one thing that I think Joss will do a great job of is I'm going to give you
chances to just complete balls and move the chains and not have to make the big throw or the big
run all the time to do things 10 wins 10 and 7 wild card team behind buffalo i feel strongly about this
this is my Washington commanders make the playoffs pick they got a ton of money they need a number
one receiver i think i think they need a left tackle receiver they need an offensive line
badly.
What if they don't get T. Higgins?
Is there like a backup plan after T. Higgins?
Like, the receiver market's not amazing, Colin?
Cooper Cup, I don't know that he does much to help.
I'm not going to pay.
Free agent market is T. Higgins, and that's it for receivers.
There's other people, you know, there's some offensive linemen.
You know, they could look at Trey Smith.
I don't know.
I worry if Chiefs guys are almost getting to the point.
Remember how Patriots players would be awesome under Belichick and then leave?
And go elsewhere and they would not really deliver?
That's a good point.
I wonder if that's a Chief's thing.
I mean, Sneed did nothing in Tennessee.
He did nothing.
One of our producers was texting me, hey, you know, the Titans defense was good.
The first six games was Sneed.
First six games.
Then he got hurt.
It was like it wasn't that great.
Patriots are interesting in the offseason.
If you do your list, you know, in two weeks, most interesting teams, Patriots have to be top.
Well, if you look at the free agent market, we put it up earlier.
Who out of that list?
T. Higgins.
would go after.
I think everybody's in on T. Higgins.
Chargers are going to be all in.
They don't need a corner.
Gonzalez played well.
I like him.
They just need an offensive line badly.
They need every position on the line.
Is there a good right tackle in the free agent market?
I'd draft a left tackle.
I'd get a right tackle.
Like of those guys, I don't think you're getting Chris Godwin.
I don't think he's leaving.
I really like Nick Bolton, but again, it's a linebacker.
And he's a lot.
And he's a chief's guy.
In the Spagnolo's scheme, is he all of a sudden going to turn into a
Pumpkin in New England?
Now, a guy like Khalil Mack, to me, is plug and play.
You get him on the defense coming off the edge.
He's expensive.
He is going to be expensive, yeah.
That list is not awesome of free agents.
I'm more excited about the draft.
I would want picks this year.
I like this coming draft.
Final story, Collins, to the NBA, where Kevin Durant,
he's had a lot of controversy in his career.
Look like he might have got traded at the deadline last week.
Nothing came of it.
He's still in Phoenix.
Now an NBA insider believes.
Durant will probably get traded over the summer, adding Durant knows it, the sons know it,
the rest of the league knows it.
Now, we know that Durant said he does not want to go back to Golden State.
Colin, give me a couple options for KD next season.
Turning 36, I believe in September.
He's still gotten a lot of value.
It's Kevin Durant.
Could you convince him to take less?
I'm sorry, turning 37 in September.
Could you convince KD to take less?
To go where?
Play with Luca and LeBron.
Hey man, you don't have to be a leader.
You just got to be a spot-up shooter.
That'd be interesting.
We need help defense badly.
That'd be interesting.
But would he take less?
He's already known as like a guy who jumps on the bandwagon or whatever.
I don't totally buy into that.
Who's saying that?
Everybody who watch them go to Golden State and then follow Kyrie, you know.
You know, the Washington Wizards.
What about the D.C. area?
Houston.
That's a good fit.
They need like a veteran.
Yep, Houston. A bucket getter?
Yeah.
I mean, he is still a remarkable
offensive player.
Yeah. And it feels like he
he's had some injuries, but I kind of feel like
he's okay. If you want to have fun, go to his
social media account and then just scroll in
and he will just say some outlandish stuff.
Like what? You know, he'll just reply to random
people, be like, I don't need your negative
energy in the building, just don't come to Sun's games.
He says that to fans, which is pretty funny.
You know, I got to respect him.
Unlike Aaron Rogers, who talks down to everyone.
and Kevin Durant just will talk right to you.
Hey man, I don't need that crap.
Scram.
I like him.
I think we both like him.
I like him, yeah.
I thought, I think he kind of tanked his career, but he would, if he saw me and he
yell at me and to shoot a jumper over me for saying that.
Yeah, he would probably yell at me.
I thought he was 30 years old, back-to-back MVP in the finals.
He was arguably as good as LeBron.
I didn't think so.
Most did.
And he went in Brooklyn.
I wonder would he admit that Draymond Green is the reason he left Golden State.
Well, I don't know if he'd admit that.
I think it's part of it.
part of it.
And he likes Kyrie.
Kyrie, you know,
I wanted to hang with his guy.
J-Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd-Lie News.
Chris Broussard, joining us live,
haven't talked to Bruin a while.
Well, let's ask you on that Kevin Durant thing.
I threw out Houston.
I said this yesterday is,
he's really a remarkable player.
I wish he would have stayed with Golden State.
I thought Brooklyn just didn't work,
but he's a different, he's an artist.
He's a different kind of cat.
where do you think he ends up?
Because I still contend he's a top bucket getter in the league.
Where do you think he ends up?
Yes, interesting.
You say he's an artist because I do.
Just based off some of the things he says, Colin,
I feel like Kevin Durand is one of those guys that I don't care.
You guys are all in the winning championships.
I just want to be better today than I was yesterday.
I want my jump shot to be smoother today than it was yesterday.
My handle to be better.
So that is an artist.
But look, I still, if I'm Golden State, because what some people around the league are saying,
this is not from Kevin Durand or anything like that, but what some people around the league are saying
is that Durand didn't go to Golden State because he didn't want to play with Draymond again.
Now, from what I'm told, they've rekindled their friendship.
That's fine.
But it's just playing with Draymond.
Draymond is always running his mouth.
He's always directing traffic, go here, go there, go.
And a lot of guys don't like that.
Steph's fine with it.
He's able to play with it.
But a lot of guys get tired of that.
And I'm getting the impression from what I'm being told that, you know,
Duran just doesn't want to be directed and yelled at and go here and go there,
even though, again, he and Dremont have made up as far as being friends.
So if I'm Golden State, I'm willing to move.
If I can move Dremont to get Kevin Durant, first, that's what I'm trying to do if I'm
Golden State.
Now, if that can't happen, Houston, yes, I like him.
Look, what about San Antonio?
A veteran, Whimby, Deere and Fox?
I don't know if they could make it happen,
but that's something that I would like to see happen
or I try to make happen if I was the Spurs too.
That's a good one.
That's Stephen Castle Kids a stud.
Wemby, Fox, KD.
Poor, that'd be a handful.
So through two games, it's pretty obvious.
The Lakers are not going to be as good defensively.
I said this.
All the attentions on Luca, but what we forget is AD is arguably the best defensive player in the league the last two years.
You lost the best defensive player, and now you get Luca's one of the worst defensive players and out of shape.
I watched them last night, and the Jazz were like, let's just start a bunch of big guys.
The Lakers just got out flanked and outsized.
What do you think it's going to look like?
Also, the Lakers are not a big three-point shooting team, but now they're going to become a huge three-point shooting team with Luca.
It's a transition.
what do you think it's going to look like at its best form in a month?
I'm not writing them off as a Western Conference contender.
I think the top two teams in the West are Oklahoma City and Denver,
and I would throw the Lakers in there as maybe that third top contender
because the other guys are young.
Houston, I think, is just too young.
Memphis is very good, very talented, great offense and some defense.
But they might be a tad bit too immature and young as well.
And then you got teams like the clippers.
So the Lakers have a shot, but they're still working out.
You mentioned the defense last night.
Now, their defense over the past month had been great.
And that was not all Anthony Davis.
Like their last 11 games, they were the best defense in the league.
And Anthony Davis only played five of those games.
Dorian Finney Smith was helping a lot.
Gabe Vincent, who was injured most of last season, he's helped a lot defensively.
And those two guys didn't play last night.
So that was part of the problem defensively.
And then Jackson Hayes, look, when Jackson Hayes is a critical piece, that might spell trouble for you.
But when Jackson Hayes went out in the first quarter, that was their size.
And Alex Lynn just wasn't ready to play well.
And so their lack of size is huge.
Defensively, let's see.
Because like I said, they've been a good defensive team recently.
Last night they went back to being poor.
We'll see what they do going forward.
And offensively, Colin, Luca has been off the ball a lot, and Luca needs to be on the ball.
Now, he has to improve in terms of moving the basketball quickly, not just dominating it, and also moving without the ball.
But if you want the Luca who's the MVP candidate, then you better put the ball in his hands.
You can't have him standing at the top of the key or the wing without the ball or standing in the corner without the ball.
So they have to figure all of this out.
LeBron's become good at playing without the ball.
And Austin Reeves, it can't be one moment it's Reeves, one moment it's LeBron, one moment it's Luca bringing it up, because Lucas is not used to that.
And so I think they're going to have to eventually put the ball in his hands and let him go to work.
Listen, the Knicks play everybody well except the Celtics.
I've watched them twice play Boston and get bulldozed.
Game was over in four minutes.
The Celtics just attacked Carl Anthony Towns and Brunson defensively.
But I like this team.
when they made the move for Carl Anthony Towns,
I thought it was a move for another move like Janice.
Do you think this is as it's currently constituted?
Are the Knicks potentially a championship team,
or are we looking at a team that needs to make another move?
Because I don't like the way they match it with Boston,
but I do like the way they match up with everybody else in the league.
Yeah, I mean, Boston and some other,
some of the top teams they've had trouble with,
if I'm running the Knicks, what I'm doing is, like this year,
Look, we're going for it, of course.
We want to win a championship.
We made our big move to get Carl Anthony Towns, who has been fantastic, right?
Right.
But I want to see how we play in these playoffs.
I don't know.
You're right.
They haven't matched up well against Boston and some of the other top teams.
So to me, what I'm watching, if I'm the Knicks, let's get into the playoffs, make this run,
and see what we need from there.
Obviously, if we win the East, then great.
We just kind of run it back, maybe add a tweak.
But you'll probably find out if they lose in the Eastern Conference playoffs, they'll know what we need to kind of get to that next level.
Because you look at them on paper, you got the great big man that scores, you got the great point guard that scores and distributes the ball.
You've got defenders, you've got role players, you've got shooters.
They, you know, like their defense has to get better.
Ironically, Tibbs has always been known as a defensive coach.
They don't defend the three very well.
So that's something they can improve on.
But on paper, they look like they have what they need.
I just think you have to see what happens in the playoffs to know,
okay, this is the final straw for us to get to that championship level.
By the way, Jimmy Butler makes the Warriors more interesting.
I had a guy Ethan Strauss on earlier that said maybe that's all it's for
is that when Steph Curry was off the floor before Jimmy Butler, they were unwatchable.
And I don't think they're a championship team.
You know, Cominga, Butler, Curry, Draymond, I think your KD,
take is interesting. Do you think it to, are they, could they win a playoff series with Jimmy Butler?
Yes, because remember how great playoff Jimmy is. We know Steph can deliver in the playoffs.
Draymond is great defense. You know, you got some good role players around those guys.
And so if playoff Jimmy shows up, they could absolutely win around. They can't win the West.
This is not a championship team, but they got better. What they did to me is assure themselves of making like the
play in and having a good chance to get into that final group of playoff teams.
And then, you know, they could win around depending on the matchup.
But it was a good move for them.
But again, it's not a move that gets them to the championship level.
So I'm not closing the book on Kevin Durant if I'm the Warriors because we all think
you'll get moved this summer.
And I'm open to move in Draymond if that's possible to make room for KD.
Chris Broussard, he'll be on first things first.
after our show.
But a bad week for Nick Wright.
But a great week for Brew.
He's just loving it on that show now.
Good for him.
I had a ball Sunday and Monday with Nick.
Good seeing you.
Great show as always, buddy.
Yeah, that KD, that's an interesting thing.
KD.
to the Warriors moved Raymond.
That's interesting.
KD. and Wembe is also freakishly.
Oh, my God.
I watched them last night against Boston.
Again, they're not ready to beat Boston.
They got dudes.
We got to get to the play-in.
We need one being at least the play-in.
I think they're 11-year-old.
Oh, don't make the plan.
Somebody's got a drop.
Mabbs, Sons, Warriors.
Somebody's got a king, maybe.
I can't believe the Mavs won last night.
They couldn't stop Kyrie.
Warriors couldn't stop Kyrie.
All right, take a break.
Come back.
J-Mack.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
I didn't even know where you were getting it today.
It's like a bouquet of flowers.
It's like a box of chocolates.
It's a gift.
Coming up next.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd.

We have a lot of fun talking about the stories behind the stories in the world of sports and pop culture.
Stories that, well, other shows don't seem to have the time to discuss.
And the fact that we've been friends for the last 20,
years and still work together. I mean, that says something, right? So check us out. We like to get you
involved, too. Take your phone calls, chop it up, as they say. I'd say the most interactive show on

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers. And guess what? We have some big news.
What's the news, new?
Huge news. We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there. But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with the name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it. And we were thinking, I'm an original.
Originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers was...
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, Hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Good. All right. Tomorrow's headlines today. Let's have some fun.
Okay, headline for the Raiders quarterback this season. Let me ask you this before you do the headline.
I think they have their tackles of center. Chip Kelly, too good tied ends.
I don't think it's a terrible spot for quarterbacks.
It's not a bad landing spot. They got, like you said, Chip Kelly's a smart offensive mind.
We're doing a quarterback carousel today on headlines, and I think the Raiders have a good one.
The headline will be Darnolds and Dragons. Vegas rolls dice on main role player.
You know, I'm looking at the depth chart here for the Raiders.
It's not awful, Colin.
They've got some dudes.
And you have the sixth pick in the draft.
You could get a starter on defense there.
I mean, we know Chip Kelly would like a mobile quarterback.
We saw what Will Howard, remember moving the pocket a lot at Ohio State late the season.
It worked well.
I think Sam Darnold's a good fit there.
I don't think it's a long-term deal.
I don't think they're doing like a four-year deal for Darnold.
I would guess probably a three-year deal for like 120, something like that, right?
40-milly year.
We know he needs a mobile quarterback.
The backup option, if they don't get Darnold, could be like a Daniel Jones, who doesn't excite anybody.
So if you're not going to get a quarterback in the draft, you bring in Darnold,
and at least as a two-year starter because the following year you'd get a quarterback, but he could sit for a year.
Yeah.
Which is what Minnesota did with Darnold, and they wanted J.J. McCarthy to sit and watch for a year.
Yeah.
And I'm sure you've seen the video.
Shadour Sanders was working out at the gym and saw on the screen.
Somebody on TV said that he's going to go sick, and Shadour's like apoplectic.
No way.
I'm not going sick.
No shot.
He's going to go before.
Raiders are not going to have a chance at Shedore.
I know you don't love him as much as some of the other people.
He's not going to fall to six, so I think they go darn old in free agency.
Yeah, no, somebody, it's a quarterback.
The closer we get to the draft, people move up for quarterbacks.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
Now, this is a tasty one.
Headline for the Indianapolis Colts next season, because I think Richardson,
I gave him a second year, I don't think it works.
Right, but can you totally move off of him?
Do we still give him more time?
he is very young had only a few college starts at Florida.
The headline for the Colts will be.
Don't Russ to judgment.
New Colt could cook.
Yeah, I mean, like Russell Wilson, if he's leaving Pittsburgh,
you look around the landscape, Colin.
There's not a lot of great options.
I don't think Russ is a long-term threat to Richardson, right, with the Colts.
And frankly, if Russ can get to the playoffs with Pittsburgh in the AFC,
why couldn't he put Indy in position to have some success?
I like the kid on the outside Pitman.
They got a great run game.
Shane Steichen, smart offensive mind,
I think the Colts are close.
I thought Richardson would take a bigger leap than he did,
and I think Russ plugs in there,
and they could be a 9-10-win team.
That's interesting.
You're not as bullish on Russ anymore, are you?
It's nothing against him.
I just think Sam Darnold's in his prime,
and I think Aaron from the pocket is better.
So if you're giving me options,
I would take Sam Darnold one.
Because he's in his athletic prime.
But he would be longer than one year, and I don't think they're bailing on Richard.
Do you think you're officially done with him after two seasons?
No, no, but I, listen, I know that he's young, but I'm watching him last year.
Dude, he can't get to 50% on throws, and he's missing on the easy stuff.
He just may not mechanically be an NFL quarterback.
Sanchez had a funny line about someone else, but he's like, the lights are on, but is anybody home?
Yeah.
You know, you see that with Anthony Richardson, like, just you're not making the easy stuff.
The layup throws are a real struggle, and that's just the...
a sign, you know, he only played 13
college games, so I thought give him a second year.
Right. I just didn't see it. All right. Tomorrow's
headlines today. Here's another saucy
one. The New York Giants
quarterback situation. Saucy.
Well, we like this. We've been all over this for
about a week now. We started talking about it last week.
You started it. And I think you liked it
at the time. The headline for the Giants will
be Stafford
infection. Giants Hope
Vet influence spreads. Now,
you know as a Jets fan, I am
very anti-Giants. But
I think Stafford going to the Giants,
and I do believe Cooper Cup will come with him on a discount.
Colin, you draft probably a couple offensive linemen.
Like you said, Andrew Thomas, graded out well when he's healthy.
I think this could be a playoff team with Stafford in New York.
Oh, I think absolutely viable.
They're definitely better than the Cowboys.
Yeah.
I don't know if they'd be better than Washington with Jaden,
but Stafford instantly can have an impact.
Brian Daibble, remember he took Daniel Jones to the playoffs.
Remember they beat Minnesota?
They have their left tackle.
They have a receiver.
They have good defensive person.
up front. They need a back and a tight end.
You got to keep that third pick, or maybe, like you said, you trade down, accumulate more.
They still need a lot of talent. They don't have a running back.
I don't like the running back room.
Tracy showed well the rookie for a little bit. I think he's from Purdue.
But they need a lot of pieces.
But Stafford instantly gives them credibility.
And it's like, oh, we've got something.
I like Daibol. I think they're a playoff team with Matt Stafford.
Malik Neighbors wants it to happen. Go look at his social media.
Oh, he does?
He's been hyping. He didn't put their name, but he puts their jersey number.
for Cup and Stafford.
Neighbors is really pushing it.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
The old
L.A. Rams. What say
you?
Well, we touched on this yesterday, and you
really like, folks, peek behind
the curtain. Coward called me yesterday after the show.
It was like, hey, hey, that's stuff we were talking about. There's something
here. The headline for the Rams
will be. Aaron, meet
Air One. Rogers
trades Big Apple for gluten-free
goods. Come on.
How legendary is that?
Come on.
Aaron Rogers, in L.A.
Listen, you get Puka.
You still got Kairn Williams.
You've got McVeigh.
We saw McVeigh go to the Super Bowl with golf.
McVeigh go to the Super Bowl with Stafford.
I don't, I think the Rams still are a playoff team.
And we mentioned it yesterday.
They played the Eagles tougher than anyone in the playoffs.
Just play a slow start in that game.
If they move Stafford, they're going to get multiple picks.
Their defense outside of a corner and maybe an inside linebacker is set.
They can start giving Aaron weapons.
This is a good old tackle draft, great running back draft, a couple good receivers up top.
The Rams could really do to their offense what they've done to their defense the last two drafts.
Because remember, if you give Stafford, he goes to the Giants, you're getting at least like a three and a four or a one in a five.
Well, they've already got, you know, two, three, threes.
They got, they have draft picks.
So I'm just telling you, the errand to the Rams thing, they're getting tired of,
Cooper, Cup, Stafford, they don't like all this public stuff with, you know, get us paid.
It's not sitting well with the organization.
And you look at the open spots for Rogers.
I don't, he's not retiring.
He's not going out like this, right?
He's not going to Pittsburgh.
I don't see that as a logical.
He's not who he is.
This Rams one is interesting, Colin.
And, you know, he still can be good.
Like you said, Final 10 games or whatever.
I was poo-pooing that.
But Rogers and Puka is kind of sort of nasty.
And McVeigh, that's a playoff.
team next year with Aaron Rogers. They're not falling out.
Third string coaching staff last year.
Go look at his last 10 games.
They were excellent.
Yeah. All right. Finally,
tomorrow's headlines today.
Well, what the hell of the Jets going to do a quarterback?
This is the tough one.
You know, and you process of elimination,
there's not a lot of guys out there.
There's a world where some Jets fans are like, hey,
let's just not get a guy tank and play for Archman.
I get it. That's in play. I don't think that happens.
The headline for the Jets will be
because I'm free! Free Falcon!
Kirk drops from Dirty Birds into Jet status.
Now, Kirk Cousins to the Jets kind of fits the, hey man, we got a good run game,
we had a solid offensive line, we got the young kid from Penn State.
We don't need you to do that much, Kirk, because the Jets, like you said, you like their roster.
They got Breece Hall in the back field.
They need another receiver and a tight end.
You move off Rogers, then you move off Devante Adams.
I mean, again, I don't love Kirk Cousins.
I hated what I saw at the end with Atlanta,
but motivated, right, healthy after the Achilles.
Is there a world where Kirk Cousins shows well?
Zach Wilson won this team seven games two years ago.
Kirk can't kind of sort of do that?
Yeah, this is not, and here's a thing.
Kirk would go there for a year, retire.
He'd be a statesman.
He'd be a mentor.
He'd be a good dude.
He'd be a little locker room guy.
you know, New York's got enough noise.
You don't get any noise with Kirk.
He's clean off the field.
And let's be real, he's not going to stay in Atlanta and be the backup, right?
Not at his price point.
Pennix has obviously got the job.
Cousins has got to go somewhere.
Did I miss a team here that you think Cousins fits better than the Jets?
Raiders, maybe?
Chip Kelly wants a mobile guy.
That's not Kirk.
I think the Raiders is an...
So they have Colton Miller.
They just drafted a right time.
tackle. They got a center last year in the second round.
They have two
excellent tight ends. Jacoby Myers.
Chip Kelly. They need a quarterback
and a running back. The division is
brutal, though. Yeah, but you know, as
Pete Carroll would tell you, you've got to face those
teams anyway. You might as well face them
twice. The Raiders gave the Chiefs
problems last year, and were abysmal
at quarterback. Let me ask you, if the
Jets went into Woody Johnson and say, hey,
here's our plan. We want to tear this down.
I don't know about this guy, this guy. Ten
starters jobs are up.
just give me a year to break down the roster.
Do you think that's a sell?
No, because the Jets have a good roster.
I like it.
I like their two running backs.
But it's also from the last regime, the new GM, the new coach.
They might have a different system.
You don't have to tear it down to win five or six games.
The NFL next year, a lot of the bad teams now have solved their quarterback issues.
I mean, look around.
Two, three years ago.
Washington's bad.
Not anymore.
Houston's terrible.
Oh, not anymore.
You start looking around right now.
Bryce Young now.
You're like, oh, actually he can play.
He did play.
I mean, there's just not a lot.
Chicago's a mess.
Probably not anymore.
So do you think the Jets are one of the like five worst teams in the AFC?
In their current quarterback situation, their bottom three.
I mean, seriously, I mean, you can bang on Tua.
Tua's going to, Tua's a pro bowl level quarterback.
Drake Mays better than what the Jets have currently.
Yeah.
So I might take his play hard.
Don't rebuild the roster.
Just get a great draft pick.
Easier said than done, but, you know.
Just go get a great drafting.
All right, we're off tomorrow.
Best of the Herd.
J. Mack is, maybe he's going to the Gulf of America.
I'll tell you what, I'd maybe piggyback on that one.
I can't.
It's a new part of America.
I want to see.
