This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Clifford Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in sports media.
Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifers Show.
This is a place for raw, unfilled conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that not only deserve to be heard, but the show.
celebrated. So let's get to it. Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast. And for more behind the scenes, follow at Clifford and at TikTok's
podcast network on TikTok. Hey, what's good, y'all? You're listening to Learn the Hardway with your
favorite therapist and host, Kear Games. This space is about black men's experiences, having
honest conversations that it's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them
with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing. How many men carry a suit or armor?
signals to the world that you not to be played with.
And just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to,
listen to learn the hard way on the IHard radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.

Hey, JMAX on this.
The Colts are ditching Matt Ryan for the year.
There's a story out there.
Jim Ursay, the owner of the Colts, is increasingly getting, having influence over personnel decisions.
Well, Carson Wentz had 27 T-Ds and seven picks, had a bad last game, and Ursay wanted him out.
You can't convince me, Frank Reich wanted to get rid of Carson Wentz or Ballard.
You can't convince me of that.
We need to refer to him going through.
So now apparently Ursa is like, I don't want to see him anymore.
Sam Ellinger.
Come on down.
He's a backup.
I know.
But he had great numbers in the preseason.
Everybody's saying.
Starters don't play in the preseason.
So you're dealing with like fourth string corners and like third team pass rushers.
By the way, Greg Jennings was a packer for seven of his 10 years.
So they don't even have an owner.
But you played two years at Minnesota, one with the dolphins.
Did you ever as a player, could you feel ownership?
Did you ever feel like owners like we're making personnel decisions
or had a little bit too much power in the locker room?
Down in Miami, yes.
But never in Green Bay, obviously, didn't have an owner
and didn't really feel that in Minnesota either.
But this is interesting because, you know,
we've seen this for years with the Cowboys and Jerry Jones,
and we've seen it blow up in their face.
Right.
And this team once was one of the greatest franchises in the NFL winning Super Bowl back to back to back.
And then all of a sudden, Jerry Jones wants to do it his way, riff with the head coach, blows everything up.
So if I'm Jim Ursay, I really tread lightly when it comes to making decisions.
It's never really worked out well when you have owners making decisions that you've hired guys to make those types.
of decisions.
Yeah, think about it.
Washington's owner, Dallas's owner,
have had more influence than you'd like.
As you mentioned, Miami's owner.
Let's just, let's tick them off.
Now, Indies owner.
Oh, by the way,
Jimmy Haslam had more decision power than you'd want.
Al Davis, at the end with the Raiders.
Al Davis, yeah.
By the way, before Burrow,
Mike Brown with a Bengals was like the GM.
Like, we have a precedent.
Owners who move into that, like it doesn't turn out well.
Like Dallas has been okay, but I think this is a big mistake.
You know, when you want, you got to be honest with me here.
I mean, I know you're an honest guy.
When you watch Green Bay and Aaron, eye rolling all these young receivers,
what is your first thought?
Because we kind of thought this was going to happen.
He's not a mentor, you know, he's not an old, he likes his old receivers.
It took him a long time for he and Devonte to work.
When you watch Green Bay and Aaron right now,
what do you think is going through his head with all these kids?
Like, this is not happening.
It's not happening.
I don't believe he believes in the guys around them.
And it's evident when you look at what they do offensively.
They don't push the ball down the field.
He doesn't give them opportunities to truly make plays
and they're not being available or they're not making the plays
when he does decide to give them that opportunity.
So if I'm Aaron Rogers, I can see why he's frustrated.
At the beginning of the season,
all the new vibrato, the new Aaron Rogers,
as far as his emotions and it's just a approach to practice
and the team and everything,
it was so on point and on par of what they needed.
When you start to lose and you start to hear the chatter
and your play is declined,
and you're not able to make and improve the guys around you.
You need more guys to step up and that's not happening so your frustration level goes through the roof.
And rightfully so, because I believe Green Bay has not done enough to support Aaron Rogers.
When you look at the Kansas City Chiefs, they let Tyreek Hill go because they had a plan.
Andy Reed and staff had a plan to replace Tyreek Hill with not just one guy but multiple guys.
The Green Bay Packers lost Devante Adams and never had.
had a plan. Never prepared for that and never supported Aaron Rogers and this offense
to move forward without a skipping a beat. This is unacceptable. Not only for the Green Bay Packers,
but even for Aaron Rogers because he's just not playing well either. So when you,
when you watched Miami and Pittsburgh last night, Peyton Manning's first year, Joe Burroughs
first year, Josh Allen's first year, it's hard, man, you're going college to pro. But
Pickett's 24.
Pickett's been a four-year starter.
Pickett's got great receivers.
There's a lot here about Pittsburgh.
This should be a little easier transition than it was for Burrell having to carry the Bengals
a losing franchise.
This is a winning franchise with unbelievable receiving tight-end talent and a real defense.
You watched it last night.
What do you make a picket?
Well, number one, I like Pickett.
I think this is obviously a year that he's going to either.
show us that he can grow and learn from this or this is going to ruin his career.
I believe the former rather than the latter, he has a lot of great pieces around him.
He's just making uncharacteristic decisions, decisions that he can't make.
He can't put the team in a bad position defensively and offensively.
And that's what you're seeing him do.
When they have a chance to make plays and just keep the ball in their possession,
he has to find a way to do that.
I like a lot of things that I've seen out of him.
He can't turn the ball over.
Obviously, if he eliminates that, what is our complaint then?
But it is a huge if because he continues to turn the ball over.
Listen, I've had a, I've, Eric Mangini told me this one.
I can say Eric's name on this, that you have no idea week to week.
You're dealing with young men.
They've got money problems.
they got family problems.
There are dramas every week in an NFL locker room that never make the public.
They don't make the newspaper.
And then there's stuff like Brady where he's a star, and I'm reading the newspaper,
and it's like ugly, bitter divorce.
And I'm like, oh, yoy, I would be a mess.
I don't know.
I mean, your entire career 10 years in the NFL, do you ever see?
Because Tampa right now, some of it, I can't imagine going through that personal hardship
and then showing up on Sunday, totally focused in.
Did you ever see in your NFL career, 10 years of at three teams,
personal stuff end up on the field?
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
It happens.
And more often than not, guys are able to compartmentalize,
meaning they're able to allow that football field,
that moment of three, three and a half hours to kind of be their sacred space
where they can just let life go and just,
focus on this. But when it's so close, when it's right in your face and every time you turn
around, somebody's mentioning it or throwing it back in your face and you can't do the things
that anyone else in this National Football League would be able to do, you're Tom Brady. And you
can't run from it. And so it's going to impact your play. I believe a lot of what we saw last
year the last couple years was a matter of what impacted his play to for the better being that his
family was still in lockstep they were supportive when that's not the case Colin you mentioned
it it is hard it is hard to not think about or consider what's going on in your personal life
when you're trying to play a game that everybody is relying on you for and on to be great and yet
the ones you love most, they're relying on you and you feel like you've let them down.
Yeah.
I couldn't imagine.
Yeah. Greg Jennings, first things first.
On after our show, he's on their set right now.
The show is rolling.
Their Mondays are unbelievable.
Watch Greg and Kevin Wilds and Chris Broussard and Nick Wright.
Nick's wrong a lot, but that's okay.
We still love Nick even though he's wrong a lot.
They're all in the show 30 minutes away.
It's good seeing you, bud.
Likewise.
Take care.

Hey, this is Robert from the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast.
Joe and I are both lifelong Star Wars fan,
so we're celebrating May the 4th with a brand new week of fun,
thought-provoking Star Wars-related episodes.
Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far, far away,

or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith rule of two.

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 was big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode
where we've discussed crack, so I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now, so...
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
Yes, I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years.
from black people in American history.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your
podcasts.
Yeah, Trent Delfare said this earlier, is that when you start looking at Brady, is that the warning
sign was a little bit, because his numbers are still fine.
But when he went to Robert Kraft's wedding and then missed the Saturday, like, what do they
call it?
Like the film walks through.
that would be inconceivable for Brady.
And again, I defend the right for, I don't ever doubt Tom's commitment.
But we now have multiple connecting dots.
He wanted to retire.
He wanted to own the dolphins.
Like we know, the other thing is as you get older, you know, Tom is now trying to monetize
everything, every burp and hiccup he wants to sell.
Tom's got a lot of stuff.
He's got a global clothing brand or a domestic clothing brand and TB12 and he's got football
he's got kids and he's got Zoom and he's got a podcast.
I mean, there's just, I don't know how he does it.
Like there's only so much time in the day.
And so, and then Brady's like, oh, I got to go to this wedding.
And then I can't make it something.
You have to sacrifice something.
You know, it's very hard to be a global CEO and always available to your kids.
You know, you're over in Dusseldorf closing a deal and your kids have a recital.
It's hard.
Life is a series of, um, um, um,
you know, sacrifices.
And then you have married.
Then you're a kid.
Now you're adding global clothing brands or whatever he's got.
Marriage strife.
It's just way, guys are supposed to be great at compartmentalizing.
They say.
Psychologists say that's what guys do really, really well, compartmentalize.
At some point stuff leaks in, you know, your personal life, leaks into your football life,
leaks into your business life.
I don't know how he does it.
This was Trent Dilfer.
I thought he really summed it up earlier on Brady's struggles.
Most of Tom's career, although wildly successful, the greatest of all time, he was surrounded
in an environment where he was forced to be uncomfortable and things were very hard.
The accountability was hard.
The expectations were hard.
One of Belichick's geniuses is to make everybody on edge.
As you seek ease, as you seek comfort, it actually works against you in terms of productivity.
Most of us are far more productive when there is pressure.
when you're uncomfortable, when you're challenged, when you're stretched, when things are brutally hard,
is when your genius comes out.
You know, the other thing is, think about the three quarterbacks that feel like they're on every commercial.
Brady, Russell, Wilson, Aaron Rogers.
I mean, seriously, it's now Mahomes is on a bunch too, so you could say, well, what about Mahomes?
But there is something to be, there is an argument to be made when you're in the season.
You know, I used to criticize Baker Mayfield for that.
I'm like, dude, you got 26 commercials.
Brady just feels like he's got the weight of the world on his shoulders, personal stuff, business stuff, football stuff.
And, you know, it's his team now. Todd Bowles isn't going to tell him what to do.
Ariens barked at him. Belichick barked at him. Josh McDaniels barked at him. Now he's got ultimate offensive power and it's a mess.
You know, this is all me theorizing what I see. But I don't know how anybody balances all this personal business football stuff in the middle of a season.
I don't know how you do it. I mean, when you watch that Tom versus Time,
documentary. He was literally watching film all day. He can't do that now. Tonight's his podcast night.
He can't do that. He's got other things, other business. He's taking calls all. You can't have
TB12. You can't have this nutritional brand. You can't have this clothing brand. Those things don't run
by themselves. You're taking calls. You're on Zooms. You're on podcasts. I just think it's a lot. It's a lot
to balance. He got the power because LeBron James. You know, LeBron didn't have full power
in Miami. He's never won more than Miami. He did not have power. There was a construct. There was
structure. He and Eric Spolstra battle. He and Riley battled. LeBron James did not have power. He had power
initially in Cleveland. He had power more. The second Cleveland got total power in L.A.
that he told him to get Westbrook. What's it looked like now? But Brady, LeBron in Miami didn't get
his way. Riley ran and everything. He didn't get everything he wanted.
Have you heard the phrase power doesn't corrupt power reveals?
There you go.
I kind of like that.
I think it's credit to the movie Superman.
Oh, really?
Really, yeah.
Greatest quote ever comes from Superman.
It's a great quote, honestly.
I mean, Tom Brady has the power, and he's not using it in Tampa right now.
All right, Jay Mack with the news.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
All right, this Colts benching has me a little shaken, Colin.
Mattie Ice, apparently he has some shoulder injury,
The Colts coach, Frank Wright, came out and said, this is for the rest of the season.
Sam Ellinger's the guy.
That feels like Ursay.
Well, just remember, Matt Ryan has the Colts paying him $12 million next season, Colin.
Next year, Maddie Ice is getting $12 million from the Colts.
This has been a disaster.
Mattie Ice, I have some stats for you.
He's been sacked 24 times, most in the league.
So the offensive line, they never fixed.
And he is tied for the league lead, I believe, an interception thrown this season.
So Sam Ellinger, the Texas Longhorn, will get the start against the commanders.
He's a backup.
I wish him the best, but that's what he is.
Listen, I just talk, Washington's sneaky wildcard team in the NFC, if they beat the Coltsier, that's three wins in a row.
I think Taylor Heineke's better than Sam Ellinger.
That's my guess.
Taylor Heineke started, I think, two years.
Where are you on this whole Jim Ursay owner stepping in?
I think it's bad.
I think, give me the last owner that meddled.
That was good.
Jimmy Haslam did. Jerry does. Al Davis did at the end.
And I've heard from somebody very credible.
Robert Sala has pushed back significantly.
And Woody Johnson is hands off. It's working for the Jets this year.
You don't want the owner meddling. Imagine if the powers here at Fox came down and told you what to talk about every show.
How would you like that?
I wouldn't.
No, I think we have a precedent for meddling owners. It's not great.
Now, now it's, that's in football.
In baseball, Steinbrenner did it and had great success, but maybe baseball's got a different
sensibility and culture.
But in the NFL, where you got to, it's, I mean, the NFL is very much choreographed offense.
Every minute counts.
You know who's been meddling for, I think, 25 years?
This guy named Jerry Jones, Cowboys.
Not really.
But it's tough to tell you, a billionaire.
Hey, man, I know football you don't.
Just go back to your glass office.
I'll handle this.
Jimmy Johnson has told the story before with Jerry Jones.
Jones is that in the first three years when Jimmy Johnson got there, Jerry was building the business part of it.
And then Jimmy started winning and Jimmy was getting all the credit.
And Jerry's like, hey, I own this. I want to have some fun too.
And then Jerry started doing, you know, more public stuff and radio stuff.
And that's all vanity and ego, which Jerry Jones has a right to have.
But there is a clear, I mean, the idea that an owner sort of needs to talk on Monday, I'm not a huge fan of.
Definitely not.
All right. Next up, we'll talk about the Seattle Seahawks.
I think the biggest surprise story in the NFL this season, above my jets and the Giants.
Listen, Seattle came in with some of the lowest expectations of any team in the league,
and they whipped up on the Chargers 37-23.
They led 17-0-0-0.
Right out of the game.
Oh, no, no, they totally dominated the football game.
And I got my issues.
What is the Chargers offense?
Chargers are going to be a topic, I think, this off-season.
Can you explain to me what the – again, what is the offensive philosophy of the charge?
What is the offensive philosophy of the Steelers?
It doesn't, we got a bunch of good players.
I don't, I can, when I watch your offense, I should have an understanding of what you're trying to do and what you want to be.
I can't figure it out with the Chargers.
I can't figure it out with the Steelers.
Everything feels like an eight-yard hook, and the defenders are sitting on all the plays.
Everything's behind the line of scrimmage.
And by the way, Keenan Allen tried to come back from the hamstring, Colin.
You see, did not play in the second half.
They have a by week now, but let's get back to the Seahawks.
Pete Carroll very excited that they are leading, yes, leading the NFC West.
Nobody told me that before we started.
The meetings in there.
I would have been going nuts about that because that's fun too.
Yeah, that's good.
Seven weeks in, look where we are.
Who to thunk it?
I really liked this today.
I like the way we played.
I thought you could feel us in all three phases.
We were humming.
And guys were running and hitting the way we want to.
It was a really physical game.
And it was good to see the offense be able to go down the field.
and put some points on the board, the defense has slowed down, other than the
turnovers that screwed us up.
Listen, the Jets and the Seahawks nailed their drafts.
First four and five picks are starting, and not just starting, not filling in, like, starring.
Those two tackles and Kenneth Walker, they will not have to draft a tackle in Seattle,
barring an injury for seven, eight years.
They literally solved, they're still not great in the interior line.
they've had tackle issues for years in Seattle.
They're over.
Walker, we knew Walker was going to be good.
You and I.
I didn't know he'd be this good.
I mean, he's going to be the offensive rookie of the year now that Breece Hall's down.
Walker's unstoppable.
How about their fifth round corner from University of Texas at San Antonio?
Roadrunner, baby.
Woolen, I believe, is his name.
He's fantastic.
I'll just say this about Gino Smith.
This guy's been very, very good, but it wasn't long ago that we were talking about the
quarterback controversy in the preseason,
Gino Smith versus Drew Locke.
Remember that? And now Gino Smith is
top 10 in the league in like every category.
So Seattle, because of the Russell Wilson trade,
has two first, two seconds, a third, and two fourths.
Could Seattle get more?
I mean, Seattle's to a point now where
if this is what Gino Smith is.
But do you think this is what Gino's Smith is?
No, no, no. They're going to draft a quarterback.
Okay.
But I'm just saying is, if you got two first,
Could you do it with the second one?
I mean, if, I don't know, Seattle's going to be too good.
They're not going to be picking on the top 10, are they?
I don't think they are.
Well, the Denver pick that they get should be top 10, but their own pick probably not.
There's a scenario where this team is like kind of in the mix for a playoff spot.
I just took a gander at the schedule.
It's not awful.
And the division suddenly is like, are the Rams any good, call?
Well, I believe they're off a buy.
They get their center back.
Here's the thing.
Think about this.
So the Niners.
Defense just got humiliated.
True.
Now they face the Rams.
Are they going to get their guys back, though?
Well, all I'm saying is when a great side of the ball gets humiliated, that Niners defense
is today humiliated and embarrassed by the performance.
Good luck to the Rams offensive line.
Watch that Niners defense play with their hair on fire.
When's the last time a Niners defense looked like that?
That was embarrassing.
They gave out just big play after.
big play. Now, Sean McVey's probably
sitting there thinking, no, no, no, no. Oh, God,
no. They just got humiliated.
Here they come, ticked off
facing us. Was it a little weird? Their strategies seemed to be, we're
not going to play the two high safeties. And Mahomes
killed them down the field. I know. Mv.S.
Schuster, guys wide open. Like, Sanford,
what were they doing? How about Schuster?
Pretty productive now. He looks good. D'Amico
Ryans. You know, I was hyping him up for the Carolina
job. This was a bad performance yesterday. Now, I know
guys are hurt, and you want to defend the Niners,
but I digress. Let's move on.
Final game of week seven tonight, Bears Patriots.
I don't know if this, like if you got a dinner reservation tonight, are you going to that?
Are you watching this game?
I'm watching this game.
I'm watching this game.
I think New England's going to win it.
I'm discouraged that Bailey Zappy, who I would have played until he was crappy.
Bailey Zappy is sitting.
Mack Jones is back in.
That's definite?
Well, that's what I read this morning.
Isn't it definite?
All right.
I mean, it sounds like Mac Jones is ready, but Bill Belichick's keeping the cards close to the vest.
This will be interesting because Bailey Zappy doesn't make mistakes like Mac Jones.
Here's my guest tonight. 2410 Patriots.
I'll take that because I am loaded up on the Patriots to cover.
I'll go 239 Patriots and a bit of a snoozer.
Patriots will not get caught looking ahead to the Jets next week.
I had to say that. Come on.
Looking ahead to the Jets.
We got a big one of five and two Jets next week.
Those words have not been uttered in 10 years.
looking ahead to the Jets.
No, it's usually looking forward to the Jets.
So FoxBed has this as eight and a half as the point of red.
I would take New England to win in cover.
Yeah, I hammered to England.
J. Mack with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurt Lakers, O and three.
Do you see the viral videos on the Lakers?
You mean AD and LeBron?
I'm not happy with Westbrook taking that shot.
But again, LeBron got power.
LeBron won in Westbrook.
and this is what you get.
What about the Portland coach saying, yeah, we put our worst defender on Westbrook.
We'll just give him shots, essentially.
I mean, it's a bad video.
And Russ at his locker, did you see that?
No.
I didn't look like he was going to cry.
I felt bad for the guy.
No, I've said it.
My thing this year, I'm not going to pick on Russell Westbrook.
Like, it feels mean-spirited.
He's not the problem.
He's a symptom of what they don't understand.
You do not bring LeBron to a franchise and not surround him with shooters.
Miami.
Pat Riley's a really smart guy.
That's what he did.
It's like when you have Steph Curry, you surround him with defenders because he can be a little bit of liability.
Andrew Wiggins, Clay Thompson, Moses Moody, they think can play.
So when you have a star and you find out what the star does, you double down on that to support your star.
Like Green Bay has got a great receiver.
They never draft a great quarterback.
They draft linebackers.
They draft corners.
What are you doing?
It's Aaron Rogers.
Like that's why Aaron's got his issues, but it's like Trent Delfare said.
you find very early with your franchise.
Forget baseball, like basketball, football.
Who's your star?
And then draft and acquire people that feed your star.
You know, when Tom went to Tampa, they got him A-B, they got him Gronk,
they got him a right tackle, they got him Leonard Fernette.
You feed your star.
Lakers get LeBron and they get rid of their shooters.
KCP could shoot a little.
He's gone.
So what do you do now if you're Polinka?
I know what I do.
Can you try to make the deal now?
because Wode Janorowski said they want to try this for 30 games
and then see if someone will not.
Say someone wants to tank and make a deal.
I don't think you can wait that long, Colin.
Utah was supposed to be tanking.
You're 3 and O!
I know.
Stunning.
NBA early is a little crazy.
Some of these scores.
Effort wins a lot of games early.
Just effort.
Colin Sexton of Utah.
Have you seen that guy?
No.
He's tough, man.
He wants all the smoke from everybody.
I just need to work that phrase in more.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd.

It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode
where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

All right, a little report card.
our NFL quarterback report card on a Monday.
J. Mack, here we go.
What are the grades?
Let's start with your guy.
Mr. Unlimited.
Russell Wilson, so far, he didn't play this week, but six game sample size.
How would you give him a grade?
Listen, it's a D, maybe a D plus.
58% completion percentage, worst red zone offense,
and he refuses to run, even though that's his game to a large degree.
His deep ball accuracy has gone off the cliff.
I can only blame him for that.
All right.
Aaron Rogers, if Russell has got a D, what is Aaron Rogers?
C minus, too many giveaways as a team. And let's be honest, Aaron, they need your leadership.
They're young kids. He's like ghosting people. At some point, turnovers, lack of patience.
Part of being a quarterback is leadership and mentorship. That's part of the job.
Let's get to a good quarterback and a layup for you, Colin. How would you grade Patrick Mahomes through the first?
Not an A-plus because he's had some ugly picks this year.
more of an A.
Okay.
He's still a wizard.
Number one scoring offense.
32 completions of 20 plus yards this year.
But he can get, we know this.
Mechanically, he can get a little off the rails.
He's had some ugly picks this year, but a definite strong A width, even without Tyreek Hill.
A lot of big plays.
All right.
This is going to be a tough one.
Tom Brady of the Tampa Bay Bucks three and four.
All right.
Brady.
I'm going to give Brady a C-minus.
His numbers aren't a true.
atrocious, but they've only had 33 big plays, some of its injuries, some of its O-line play.
But this is the worst, like, seven-game span of his career.
He is a distracted quarterback, and he's losing to, like, the Steelers and the Panthers.
So some of this is they have better players, and they're not performing.
Boy, I wish you were grading me when I was in middle school.
Next up, Jimmy Garapolo.
How would you grade him?
Nobody wants to hear this, C-plus.
his passer ratings in 96.
He's increased his passing yards in every game this season.
He had over 300 against the Chiefs,
and he's 3 in 0 when he doesn't turn it over.
Did not start the season.
He didn't get all the reps until week three, all of them.
He's gotten better every week.
I thought he had a really bad pick yesterday.
By and large, I'm okay with it.
All right, let's go to a quarterback who started the season
with four interceptions in week one,
but he's rebounded a little bit.
Joe Burrow.
A, only reason to don't give him an A plus,
is his first six quarters.
Since his career high, five turnovers in week one,
113 passer rating.
Now, they've done a really good job
to surround him with pieces.
But he would get an A plus, if not for the first six quarters.
But I don't know.
Right now, neutral field,
I think they can play with anybody,
including Kansas City and Philadelphia and Buffalo.
Spicy.
All right, let's go to quarterback who does not want to run.
Kyler Murray, how would you grade him through the first seven weeks?
I would give him a C, a C, bordering on a C plus.
By the way, they're averaging only 4.9 yards of play.
Why?
Because DeAndre Hopkins had been out.
We don't know if he has a great coach.
So I am way more optimistic on this situation.
Did you watch him this past week with DeAndre Hopkins?
He targeted him like 14 times.
It's funny.
You get a star receiver back.
It's funny.
Aaron Rogers isn't as good without DeVonte Adams.
It's amazing what happens.
It's just crazy.
Isn't it?
Excuses, excuse.
Let's get to Josh Allen for an easy grade, Colin.
A plus.
MVP favorite, yes.
By the way, 373 yards, totally yards a game.
That is 50 more yards than the next closest quarterback.
He is an offense.
He's not a quarterback.
He is literally an offense.
He's insane.
The next guy should be an offense, but the last few weeks he sputtered, Lamar Jackson.
This is a tough grade right here.
It's not tough.
all to B plus.
Okay, time out.
12 touchdown passes from the pocket.
Only Josh Allen has more.
They've led every game 10 plus points.
He doesn't have a number one receiver.
He's had bad fourth quarter
QBRs.
Could some of that be because he is the offense?
If you lead every game by 10 points and you're losing,
it can't all be on the quarterback.
What about the D.Bs?
I wish I had you as a teacher.
Daniel Jones, Danny Dimes from the New York Giants.
A B, he does lead the NFL with five game winning drives.
That's something, right?
But he's only had two games throwing over 200 yards.
They have a formula.
He's not always a big component to the formula, but he gets a B.
I would give them he should feel good getting on the bus and driving home to mom.
A quarterback we love.
Tough one here, Justin Herbert.
Okay, again, I'm not sure if he's got the right coach.
I'll give him a C, some ugly interceptions.
But it's the third straight game.
The Chargers have trailed by double digits in the first.
first quarter. What's the offensive identity? I got nothing here to work with. What are they
offensively? You tell me. What are they? I don't know. All right. We're out of time. We're out of time.
Okay. We're not going to do Zach Wilson? The rest of the kid, Zach Wilson's not on the board.
The jets have literally taken the ball out of his hands. It's an incomplete. He's got to stay after
school and study. Study. See you tomorrow. The herd. Another podcast from some SNL late night
comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious
guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's
