This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel
and friends on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes
for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, this is Robert from the Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast.
Joe and I are both lifelong Star Wars fan, so we're celebrating May the 4th with a brand new week of fun, thought-provoking Star Wars-related episodes.
Join us as we tackle science and culture topics from a galaxy far, far away, such as the biology of tauntons and wampas on the ice planet hot, or the practicality and corporate business sense of the Sith rule.
of two.

A win is a win.
A win is a win.
I don't care what I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, my basketball and college football journey, or my career in
sports media.
Well, now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Cliver Show.
This is a place for raw, unfills of conversations with athletes, creators, and voices that
not only deserve to be heard, but celebrated.
So let's get to it.
Listen to the Clifford show on the IHeard Radio app,
Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.

On the Look Back at it podcast.
From 1979, that was a big moment for me.
84's big to me.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it.
With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors.
Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.
Before it was a wild year.
It was a wild year.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Thanks for listening to The Heard podcast.

You're listening to Fox Sports Radio.
Yo, your best friend you never asked for.
CNR on FSR.
And for Colin on the herd.
I feel like I see Colin every day of my life, but not in person.
I watch his social media clips.
Whoever does his Instagram and Facebook and all that, fantastic.
Good stuff.
You ever notice his shirts are never wrinkled to Colin?
Where does he get those done?
He's always looking spiffy.
I like non-wrinkled light blue shirts.
Always looking spiffy, man.
Tui steams him.
Yeah, Tui is his steamer.
Too, is that what you do?
It's a pleasure hanging out with Tui and music.
Again, our super producer, Danny G.
Fee, Kavino and Rich shows here on the phones.
Good crew.
818, 81775-09.
We also have Big Sexy on the ones and twos.
Good to see Ryan.
Spot is on the videos.
You can see what you hear at Covino and Rich.
At Covino and Rich.
I'm Steve Kavino.
That is Rich Davis.
And again, if you like our show, you dig it.
We're doing something different.
We've been doing it for a long time.
We're on 5 to 7 Monday through Friday on Fox Sports Radio.
5 to 7 on the East, out here on the West, 2 to 4 p.m.
Where the traffic is way better than coming in for the hurt.
Oh, I know, right?
My goodness.
And you could also check out our bonus podcast.
Search Overpromised on Fox Sports Radio's YouTube page.
It's a fun show.
Check it out.
I think you'll enjoy it.
Now, we're going to play some games this hour.
Showtime Mahomes trivia.
Mahomes is here.
He asks the questions.
You get a chance to win a coveted CNR Swiggy, a stainless steel water bottle.
We got to talk quarterbacks.
Okay.
But the kind of you like to hang with or maybe not like to hang with.
Okay.
Well, I got to go old school radio and give a couple shouts to guys I play softball with that say,
I only listen to the herd.
Sorry.
So now that we're filling in for the herd, you know, the guys that ignore their friend.
Yusuf, my buddy Sean Weller, my buddy Tuttle, guys that listen to the herd every day that say,
oh yeah, you're on the radio too? Yeah, I'm on the radio.
Why are you kissing her ass?
The ones who say you need batting practice.
Yeah, yeah, batting practice.
So Weller also hit us up saying we said that the best white pompador in the game is now Steve Phillips.
What about Steve Martin?
Only murders in the building debuts today.
Oh, well, I'll never deny.
that. Steve Martin looked like he was 85
in the 80s.
And he looks the same now. He's got
great hair, but it's not as impeccable.
It's not as precise.
It's not as like... Steve Phillips looks
like he should be on the cover of an
underwear ad or something. You know what I mean? Or like...
You have a soft spot for Steve Phillips.
He's like to adjust for men before.
We worked with Steve Phillips. He's a good guy.
We used to see him all the time. I'll...
Kvino and Steve Phillips.
No, that dude's hair is on point.
It really is.
Yeah, Steve Martin, anyone else kept the mind?
That Steve Martin, meme you speak of,
it's wild to think that in our lifetime,
in the movie Father of the Bride,
he was supposed to be like the 40-year-old dad.
Spot, who was his wife in that movie?
What was that?
Diane Keaton.
That picture of them sitting on the couch,
Dan Keene was like 79 at least, right?
Steve Martin had to be like 82 back then.
Yeah, 40-year-old couples don't look like that anymore.
Not anymore.
I think it to sports really quick.
Bill Parcells.
Oh, yeah, you know, but is it as
It's not as like...
Rex Ryan's got some...
Rex Ryan?
That's a good one.
I'm trying to think.
Who are we adding to the list now that Donahue's gone, rest and peace?
Oh, dude.
Jimmy Johnson.
Come on, how do we forget that?
Jimmy Johnson, what he used to promote?
Extends.
He used to promote extends.
I think it does wonders for your hair, too.
Because he's got a sweet pompadew.
Well, if you're going to talk about hair, I always ask the question.
Does Hulk Hogan go to the barbershop and say,
give me the Terry Bradshaw
or does Terry Bradshaw go to the barbershop and say
give me the Hulk Hogan?
The world may never know.
I don't know, Rich.
We'll figure it out.
I have a dumb question before we get to NFL quarterbacks.
It has to do with football because mid-September
we're going to be one month into the football season.
You'll be having your pumpkin spice lattes and beers.
Every kid will be back at school.
You'll break out your NFL hoodies.
September will be here.
And you know what else will be here?
What?
You know the two guys that just signed their $100 million
podcast contract.
Makes me sick being a broadcast.
Barf.
I mean, good for them.
Good for them.
New heights.
To what you were saying during our meeting.
Everything lined up perfectly for them.
Super Bowl winner.
Perfect storm.
Then the other brother wins a Super Bowl.
Oh, you're going to date the biggest pop star in the world.
Oh, you're the most likable dude on earth, Jason Kelsey.
So they signed their contract.
And next month is the debut of the Kelsey mix.
In supermarkets, mid-September, they've taken their three favorite general
Mill cereals. I thought they had
an album coming out. No.
The Kelsey
Mix tape. General Mills
they said their three favorite
cereals are Reese's puffs,
cinnamon toast crunch,
and Lucky Charms.
And they've mixed them in the same bag.
And apparently that's the Kelsey mix.
I know. Yeah. They're making cereal now.
Mid-September, it'll be available
in your supermarket. The peanut butter
doesn't match with the other ones.
That one has to stand alone.
After a couple drinks or an edible or something, you might want to mix all.
I don't know.
Does it sound good to you?
Does that combo sound good?
Reese's puffs, Lucky Charms, cinnamon toast.
Look, cinnamon toast crunch is just delicious, right?
You add some peanut butter to that.
Yeah, I think it's the Lucky Charms with the marshmallows that throws it off.
No?
Cinnamon and sugar, we're baking up a bunch.
Got the whole grain taste of the cinnamon.
Toast crunch.
Yeah, it's just ridiculous.
Staying for me Lucky Charms.
Yeah.
Is it the peanut butter?
It does sound odd.
I'll give you that.
Hey, that's how popular the Kelsey's have become.
Broadcasters, NFL analysts, dating Taylor Swift.
You said the party the other night, Taylor Swift through Blake Lively party.
And now it's headlines like the Kelsey's and my homes are there.
They're celebrities.
You know what?
I made up my mind.
They are not three-peating.
Too many distractions.
Cereals, podcasts, hanging out with Taylor Swift at Blake Lively's birthday party.
I'm all for having fun, but the party's over chiefs.
Tell Nick write that, too.
Colin says too much noise
When there's too much noise
Too much noise
Too much noise
Remember Rocky Bobo when he started
Training and there was hot women around
And people were blowing bubbles
And Mickey was like well
You know
It's like Rocky 3
He got too big for his britches
Yeah he had a robot and everything
Yeah he started to live in focus
I get it
Okay
So they got you
I just figured I throw it out there
The Kelsey cereal this month
Next month
Well hey man I'm pumped
Hook it up
Dude I lived that life anyway
I lived a serial life
I was a serial killer growing up, right?
But I also had a lot of siblings.
So you would discover these concoctions by default
because you think you had more than you did.
And then you would have to combine cereals
just to complete a full bowl.
Right?
So I would always combine the...
Can I put Apple Jackson and had to?
And tricks together?
I don't know.
Just to make one bowl.
And nothing annoys Cavino's mom more.
Yeah.
When he says, I grew up on cereal
because she does that mom thing.
It's like, oh, I'm sorry I didn't cook for you.
No, no.
What noise or more is when you bring it up on national radio
for the herd, yeah, and make her look like a bad mom.
Yeah, Camino's mom never made
eggs or pancakes or anything.
That makes her even more mad.
So that's Rich Davis, everybody.
Blubberlips.
And I'm Covino, Danny G.
We got Tewian Music.
Thank you guys for hanging.
818, 81775-0-9.
Now, before we took quarterbacks, Rich,
it was a story about Qantas Airlines.
You ever flown Qantas?
No, and I think that's a reflection of me not doing
cool enough international travel.
It's Australia to you.
It was an Australia to U.S. flight.
And Danny G. correct me if I
get this wrong. But
there was about 300 people.
They're booking flights and there was a coding
error. They're saying it was a coding error
where these 300 people got first
class tickets for coach prices.
Yeah. So they all show up. They're like
sweet. We're getting
food and wine on the flight.
If you've never flown first class, if you've
never had that privilege. Champagne.
I never buy it. Let this be clear.
I don't make count hurt flow. They pay me
meatballs and cereal bonuses.
So I would get upgrades every once in a while.
It is a delight.
It really is.
Just because I fly so much.
You get that upgrade.
There's something about the feeling of floating to those seats.
You're like, don't mind if I do.
Camino closes the curtain and he looks back at everyone else in shame.
Oh, that's a Seinfeld.
The Seinfeld says you look back and you say to them,
you should have worked harder.
And you close that curtain,
You float to those seats.
You sit back.
You enjoy it.
I don't know if I'll ever be at the point, rich, where I want to overpay like that,
unless it's like a crazy flight to Japan or Australia or something like that.
Where you're treating yourself like an anniversary or something.
It really is next level.
So I got to make that point because you got these people on this flight that are all pumped about.
You know, we just got first class tickets.
Every time I fly...
We're going to get that treatment.
Every time I fly New York to L.A.
and it's JetBlue, I always look at the prices.
You know that they call it mint, and it's like those
brand new beds.
Yeah.
But it's a difference of like $300 round trip or
$500 round trip or $5,000.
And it's like, oh, by the way, when you're walking to your coach seat,
tell me there's not a like a disgust when you see these people in first class.
Don't you sort of want to punch them in the face?
I mean, can I tell you?
Can I tell you what I do?
This kid's sucking on a lollipop.
He's in first class.
Get this kid out of here.
They have the warm cloth on their face.
Yeah, I do eye up everyone in first class and do a quick way.
What do they do?
What do they do?
It wants it.
You'll be like, oh, it's an ice cube or something.
You'll see like a celebrity and then it's like, who's that old lady?
What does she do?
This lady has her dog in a seat.
You're like, how does this happen?
How come I got to sit in the back?
I sit in the back with the chickens like Indiana Jones.
These people are up front.
People don't know.
Camino takes soul plane.
Yeah.
I'm like, I got to sit back here.
You guys are in the front.
Yeah, Camino's like,
Have you got a sole plane or do I take
You're angry about it
Yeah, you're envious, you are
There's that envy that you have
When you see them sitting there all relaxed
But you got the story
So Qantas says
Hey, we're sorry
Because they now sort of
Made this weird promise to these people
And they're sort of let down
They want their free wine
They want their champagne
They want their food
And as a way to make it right
Quantis Airlines says
That you could buy the business
class seats at the same rate.
So they mostly honored it
minus the food and the champagne.
There's small print that every airline
uses in case there's an error like this.
So what they do in that small print it says
we'll refund your money and you rebook.
But to be in good faith, they said,
tell you what, instead of an 85% discount,
we'll give you a 65% discount.
So they sort of honor.
Yeah, no champagne, no food.
But they sort of honored their mistake.
mistake, okay, sort of honored their mistake.
They couldn't put 300 people in first class seats,
but that's what they thought they were getting at Coach Prices.
So that got us thinking, it was a viral story today,
Qantas Airlines, got us thinking about the best deals you ever got.
The best deal you ever got, maybe it's sports.
Hey, we worked at SNY.
We did a live TV show, Mets, Jets, all things, New York sports,
and Kavino and Rich.
We would do a live, goofy show every day.
It was awesome.
and for Rich, they gave us the best deal.
They said, we'll pay you in meatballs, but we'll give you Mets tickets every home game.
I went, because we were on six months of the year, and then we were not on during the baseball season,
but part of our contract was, yeah, we'll give you like a season ticket package.
I went to like 50 Mets games that year.
And dude, I had all these tickets.
I used them as like, um, bartering money.
Hey, man, because I had these, I went on.
I'm a Yankees fan.
So I didn't want to go to the Mets game every time with Rich, but I had all these tickets to do something with.
So that was kind of cool.
That was a good deal that we got back in the day.
But it could be anything.
It could be sports related.
It could be a concert.
It could be a car.
Something ridiculous.
I'll tell you a stupid story just to get the ball rolling.
818, 817-7509.
818-1-7-509.
Or at Covino-N-Ritch at Fox Sports Radio.
You ever get these advertisements,
these advertisements on social media?
Of course you do.
But you don't know what to trust, right?
Women buy stuff.
Women be shopping.
Women buy stuff.
all the time. They have a better
knowledge of what's legit and
what's not, where to buy certain
things, how to do it, what codes
to use. There's boxes
at my house, at your house
probably every day. What do you build in the
clubhouse? I don't
buy stuff online as often. That's the
point. I don't think most guys do.
And I kept getting
these ads for these summary shirts,
these summary button downs.
Kind of like what you're wearing, Tui, a little bit.
But a little flashier,
You're like more vacationy, but short sleeve button down vacation style of shirt.
And I realized I was going to the beach.
I had a few barbecues coming up, a few cookouts.
Rich and I are going to Miami for the Raiders Dolphins game.
So we're going to be in Miami.
You need to wear a Mike McDaniel shirt.
I got to look like a, you know, scarface or something.
And I got to wear something cool.
So they were advertising three of these button downs for $79.
bucks. I'm going to make this quick, but follow the math.
Three for 79. I go to my girlfriend. I go to my
friends. You ever heard of this brand? Like, no.
I'm like, I don't know. I'm going to take a chance. I'm taking my chance.
Sure enough, you know, they ship from China.
China.
Had to say it that way. Three for 79.
One of the three, I finally get them, right?
One of the three, we're a little stiff. I'm like,
the other two were fine. Third was stiff. I'm like,
what's the return policy? I just hit them up.
Hey, what's your return policy?
I'm like, well, we're based
out of China. We'll send you three new ones.
You just got to pay for shipping.
I'm like, just pay for shipping.
How much is shipping?
Eight bucks.
And you're going to send me three new ones?
All right.
I don't like any of the three I got.
He did this three more times.
You know what, Rich?
You're right.
Long story short, I got about 12 of these shirts now.
12 because guess what?
I want to pay.
I'll pay for shipping and that's it.
Some little kids' hands are really tired right now.
So now my whole wardrobe looks ridiculous,
and I'm trying to get use out of him because I got nowhere to go yet.
Every other day, Camino looks like he's going to an all-clos.
I just came back from...
Dmitigure Republic.
Yeah, it just came back from D.R.
So I got a sweet deal.
I got like 12 shirts, Riches and Lion, for 88 bucks.
See, people get deals.
I was thinking when you're talking about this,
Qantas, wrong listing,
people getting first class tickets for cheap.
This is, I guess, can we do a sleazeball tip of the day?
I'm not saying I endorse this, but sleazeball
tip of the day.
Is it sleazeball or cheap skate?
Maybe I think cheapskate tip of the day.
If you're trying to go to the Dodgers game,
maybe an NBA game,
whatever you want to go to, football's coming up,
what I think is an interesting theory
someone once told me.
Buy inexpensive seats
and then go to Stubhub and Seat Geek
an hour before the game.
See what good seats haven't sold yet?
And there's a good chance
people might not be in those seats.
So if an hour before the Titans game,
Section 108 looks like there's a ton of seats
that no one has purchased
that are on the secondary market,
buying those bleed and some just be like,
I'm going to see if I can walk down to section 108
because there will be seats
and no one's going to kick you out of seats that never sold.
Best deal you got.
I want to hear about it.
Let's chop it up. Let's share some stories.
And he comes to mind for you guys.
Jump right in.
Best deal you got.
Was it a deal on a sweet car, sweet pair of kicks?
I remember someone tried to sell you a car once.
Yeah.
And the guy was like, great deal.
Women love green.
Women love green.
I don't want green.
Take the green car.
Women love green.
You got one, too?
We got one, too?
Kind of sort of.
It's, so we had a bunch of families over a while back, and we door dashed.
Okay.
and it was like a $400 door dash order.
And I got a notification that they dropped the order off,
but there was no food outside our house.
So we called to complain to the restaurant.
We said nothing was ever delivered.
They go, okay, we'll make you a whole new order to bring it over.
So they do that, they bring it over,
and then one of our friends who went out and grabbed the food
looked off the side of our house, there was the original order.
There you go.
They put it in front of our door,
they put it like off the side of our house.
Oh, perfect.
So we got like $400 worth of free food.
Double the foot.
See?
Pack it up.
Yeah, for a week.
I love it.
All right.
Well, hey, at Covino Rich, if you want to share any stories.
You know what I like Rich?
I don't want to give any free advertising, but Rich buy sunglasses from one of these
online places that are in your social media feed.
And if you break them, and you always do, you always sit on a pair of sunglasses or you
break a pair.
They do replace them with a new pair.
I think that's pretty awesome
I think it is
and they're decent
and I realize
that'll give me their shout
that's shady rays
I think that's a sweet deal
but you know what
I realize what they do
it's a good trickery
because what happens is
you pay for shipping
so it's like
I replace my glasses
I have $20 shipping
and then at checkout
they're like
do you want a second pair
for like another 30 bucks
and you're always going to be like
yeah
and then you realize
you just spent 60 bucks
to replace the glasses
that you were like
oh I thought I just
get a free replacement
so it's good marketing
and good trickery
that's great
The best deal you got, Quantis Airlines, again, they're doing it right.
They hooked their passengers up.
It was a story we want to share with you.
We'll take your phone calls and feedback next.
And also, we're going to play Showtime Mahomes Trivia.
So if you want in, you want to win a Kavino and Rich.
Fox Sports Radio Prize, a Swiggy, some cool Fox Sports Radio stuff.
B-Dylin.
What's in the ring?
818.
817-7509.
Yeah, a different number than what we're used to.
I know.
You want a 817-7509.
Start over.
Thank you guys.
817-750 and Rich.
817-7509.
Yeah, it's like, do you really memorize anyone's number anymore?
No, no.
All right.
So we'll play Showtime of Homes trivia.
Coming up next, right here, Fox Sports Radio.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.

Yep, that's me.

Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger than I ever imagined.
And now I'm bringing all of that excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show.

Do you remember when Diana Ross
double-tap little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with a little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack all day, but yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, we don't have plenty.
But just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point,
Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed correct.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
Welcome to my new podcast, Learn the Hard Way with me.
your host and your favorite therapist, Kear Games.
And in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month,
I'm bringing over a decade of my own experience in the mental health field
and conversations with so many incredible guests.
I'm talking, Tripp Fontaine, Ryan Clark.
Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it,
and we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.

On for the herd.
You heard.
As we get into the herd line news, let's go.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the Herdline News.
All right, guys.
We have our Mahomes trivia coming up soon,
but let's start with the Kansas City Chiefs here in Hurdline News.
First story up, it is that cut down day in the NFL.
And the Chiefs will be parting ways with wide receiver Cadarius Tony.
That's right.
He came over from the Giants in a trade after being drafted in the first round by the Giants.
Never really took off in New York.
him and Daniel Jones never really had a connection.
He came over to the Chiefs, just an electric player, tons of athleticism,
made a couple of huge plays for them in their Super Bowl win over the Eagles,
two Super Bowls ago.
But, you know, had his ups and downs, was never a consistent enough player for them.
So that Chiefs team, we always have questions about wide receivers,
how they're able to do it, but they're parting ways with Cadarius Tony.
Interesting.
Yeah.
Only because, you're right.
That is, you know, someone posed a question the other day.
Is there a quarterback that gets it done without elite wide receivers?
And you can say Mahomes is the only one who has consistently found ways to win.
You can say, well, Kelsey, he tight-end received.
Sure.
But yeah, since Tyree Kill, has he had a guy that you're like, that's an elite guy?
No, I mean.
And they win.
They also, the chiefs are bringing back Juju Smith-Schuster,
who they won a Super Bowl with as their leading wide receiver.
Now, Kelsey led the team in receptions and yards that year.
but Juju leaves Kansas City, goes to the Patriots,
who needs some talent, and even the Patriots were like,
yeah, you're not really doing it for us here.
Wow.
It's remarkable what Patrick Mahomes is able to do
and what he's been able to achieve in Kansas City.
Now, along those same lines, another roster move made.
The Arizona Cardinals, according to Ian Rappaport of NFL Media,
they're going to wave quarterback Desmond Ritter.
So Desmond Ritter goes from,
the starting quarterback in Atlanta
to battling for a backup position in Arizona
and couldn't make the cut.
Grand opening, Grandin, grandkids.
You look at this and it makes you wonder,
earlier we were talking a lot about teams
you kind of can't get a good feel
for how you think you're going to do this year.
And what do you make of the Falcons
and the fact that they did win seven games,
they weren't a total disaster
with mostly Desmond Ritter
as their quarterback who can't even get a backup
spot. I guess you feel pretty good
about it if you have, if you believe
that whether Michael Pettix Jr.
or Kirk Cousins
coming up by Achilles. I think that team,
I think that is, I'm oddly
confident in that team. Just also based
on that division, the Panthers aren't there yet.
I think Tampa, you know,
Tampa won that division almost by default last
year. Sure. And then they beat a struggling
Eagles team and the play. I think
that's Atlanta's division to lose,
to be honest. I think they should be.
Fucking ears are tough. Yeah, are they? I don't know. I'm not
sold on the bucks. And the Saints,
not really feeling. Nice defense
in Atlanta, and they're stacked at
wide receiver and tight end. Yeah.
I mean, they got a lot to like.
But yeah, so a little surprising
there. Desmond Ritter, quickly from
the starter in Atlanta
to unable to make the roster
there in Arizona. Now let's
wrap up with this. I love this story.
This is great. All right. So the NBA world
has been at odds since
Anthony Edwards, obviously a huge breakout
star for the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Had his moments with Team USA, brought home the gold medal.
Well, he came out and said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal
that back in the day, Michael Jordan was the only player in the league that had any skill.
It was a physical game, but Michael Jordan was the only one.
So it's led to a lot, a lot of backlash.
Well, let's bring in Kevin Garnett.
So Kevin Garnett had this to say on the Ticket and Truth podcast responding to Anthony Edwards.
I don't think anybody in this generation could have played like 20 years ago if I'm being 100.
And this is to, this is to everybody in our lead.
Tatum, all y'all, let me tell y'all something, bro.
20 years ago, bro, you couldn't get to a triple step back.
You hear what I'm saying to you?
You couldn't get to a triple step back.
And then if you shot that, it had to go win.
You know what?
Because we had efficiency lap back in the day, my dude, and it was so hard.
It was too physical.
You know,
This has caused so much controversy.
Earlier this week, it was Magic Johnson who responded by not responding.
He said something along the lines of he doesn't acknowledge people who never won a championship.
He goes to win.
He says something along the lines, I don't think he won in high school.
So this guy doesn't even know what he's talking about.
But outside looking in, don't you sort of understand what both sides are saying?
100%.
They're both invested, right?
Each generation is going to stand up for themselves.
But I do see what Edwards is saying about the skill level of today's player.
They play with a different level of skill.
But then the physicality of yesterday's next level.
So it's a different game.
I never know that line of when do the old veterans sound like,
get off my along versus like them being honest.
The way that Magic Johnson played the game,
the way that Jordan played the game,
that's sort of the way these players today have emulated their game and their style.
I'm not saying they're as efficient as those players,
but they have those moves.
Not everybody had those moves.
moves back then. It's ridiculous to say
that like a guy like Magic Johnson didn't have
skill. That's just silly talk. Yeah, but he
was an exception back then. But when you hear about
like Garnett saying
like, yo, these young cats couldn't play, I
don't buy that. I don't. I think
that, I think it would just be all competitive
and they played. Like when people had that
92 dream team versus this Olympic
team, these are silly conversations because we'll
never know, but to downplay the
athleticism, size and strength of the current
players. Like LeBron James
is a, I
I'm not even a huge LeBron fan,
but you can't tell me that LeBron
wouldn't have fit in in any generation.
It's homage, honestly, to guys
like Magic and Jordan, because they
changed the game
for the players today.
Yeah. So, yeah, it's a fun one, man, but they're not
taking kindly to Edwards, that's for sure.
And just to show you how much time is passing. I know we've got to get to
Mahomes trivia, but you started with
Juju Smith Schuster. Yeah. Which, by the way, I wasn't
sure if that was a real story at first. Time is
flying so fast that
it's over five years since he was having
killer seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
To me, that was like, oh, what, a year ago or so?
2018 was the big breakout year for Juju, and really hasn't
been the same since. Did all right with the
Chief, so we'll see. It's interesting. Thank you, Ryan.
Thank you. Well, that's
the news. And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd-Lie News.
It's been a minute for him, huh?
Juj-J-J-Smith-Schuster. All right, we do this
every week, Kavino and Rich.

It is NFL season.
FSR security walking in the one and only broke Patrick Mahomes.
Hey, where's Iowa Sam?
Where's that guy?
Wrong time slot, buddy.
Hey, what's going on?
Hey, Danny G.
Hey, so are you going to be three-peeding?
That's the big question.
Yeah, I keep hearing.
Let's hear what this guy is to say now, too much noise.
Too much noise, Patrick?
Too much noise.
I don't know.
No one's three-peding.
They said that last season.
But I do want to say peace out to Cadarius Tony.
Good guy.
but yeah I'm also working on my Mahomes mix cookie crisp
fruity pebbles and Frankenberry
Frankenberry that's my home's mix
That's better than the Kelsey mix

one. All right, go ahead and punch that up.
Who we got. Rob in San Antonio. What up, Rob?
Yeah, what's it, Rob? Not a whole lot. Fellas yourself.
We're good, man, ready to play.
Rob, what do you do for a living there in Texas?
I am a transportation driver.
Nice. Oh, cool.
Appreciate you having a song while you drive around, man.
Here are the rules for Showtime Mahomes NFL trivia.
The first contestant with two correct answers is the champ.
If there's a tie, we have a tie breaker question.
Your name is your buzzer, but you do have to wait until all three possible answers are read.
If there's two wrong answers in a row, we move on to the next question.
Are you ready?
Let's go.
Let's get it all.
We go.
All right, Patrick Mahomes here.
Running backs are not as important as me, but let me ask a question about them.
Which of these NFL running backs did not rush for a 2,000-yard season?
A. Terrell Davis, B. Jamal-Lewis or C. Marcus Allen.
Rich.
Bob.
Ooh, Rich got in there first.
I feel bad taking Rob's thunder, but it was Marcus Allen did not run for 2,000 yards.
Yes, correct.
Rich immediately on the board as we moved to round two.
Hold on, he did on Tecmo Bowl, without a doubt.
On Tecmo Bowl, he definitely did.
I think on Tech Bowl, he read for 5,000 yards.
Marcus came close, but never 2,000.
All right, Patrick Mahalms, round two.
Who was the last defensive player to have won an NFL MVP award?
A, Reggie White, B, L.T, Lawrence Taylor, or C. Ray Lewis?
Ryan.
Oh, Ryan.
Lawrence Taylor.
Yes.
1986.
Ryan on the board.
On the board. Coming for you, Rich.
You don't bother me, Ryan?
We asked a bunch of youngsters at a live remote once,
who's L.T.
And they were like, L Danian Thompson?
I'm like, get the hell out of here.
LDadian Tom.
LT is Lawrence Taylor.
He had a pretty sweet dangly earring, too.
Yeah, you should wear one of them.
I might this season, yeah.
All right, Rob and San Antonio, you've got to be quick on your buzzer, okay?
Let's get Rob a chance.
All right. Round three.
Which NFL team has the most Hall of Fame inductees?
Is it A, the Bears, B, the Packers, or C, Danny G's Raiders?
Rob.
Rob.
I want to say the Bears.
Yes, Chicago, baby.
On the board, here we go.
Boom.
They got 37 busts in the Hall of Fame.
There you have it.
Good one.
All right, round four.
They have a bunch of busts as quarterbacks.
Hopefully, Caleb's that one.
All right.
Rich, Ryan, Music.
And Rob all on the board.
Oh, it's getting heated.
All right.
Patrick Mahomes here.
I did this easy in 2022, but who's the first quarterback in NFL history to throw over 5,000 yards into season?
A, Dan Marino, B, Dan Fouts, or C.
Rich's hero, Joe Montana.
Rob.
Rob.
Rob for the win.
I'm going to go to Dan Fouts.
No.
Rich.
Rich for the steel and the win.
It's Marino.
I win.
It is.
I just got to call on our boy, Rob.
You went Dan Fouts over Dan Marino?
Dan Fouts is a good guess.
Montana never threw for a ton of yards.
That's like one of those misconceptions.
They had a pretty well-balanced attack.
And back then, those guys' numbers pale in comparison to the offensive numbers now.
And speaking of pale, you definitely need to hit the beach.
You need some sun.
But yeah, Dan Marino did it in 84.
Guys, I got things to do.
I got training to get to.
Have a great show.
Colin Cowherd, Kavino and Rich, Danny G.
All right.
Can't wait to see Max Crosby chasing you this season.
I'm here.
Let's go.
Rob in Texas,
thank you for playing.
Patrick Mahomes out.
Appreciate you,
I just saw Patrick Mahomes in the hallway.
He's all fired up, man.
That dude's way too hyped.
You know, it's all that sugary cereal he's eating, the Mahomes mix.
You know what?
What was in the Mahomes mix again?
I think he said cookie crisp,
cocoa pebbles, and Frankenberry.
All the things my mom was like,
no.
By the way, speaking of the chiefs of Mahomes,
thank you for the Showtime trivia.
what is your instinct without thinking too much about it?
Ravens at Chiefs.
We're talking about, what, eight, nine days away next Thursday.
That's a nice one.
Casey at home by three.
So we're talking like Vegas has just given them
the field goal home field advantage.
So do you like Lamar in the opener
or do you think the Chiefs pick up where they left off?
I'm going to go with the Chiefs.
I mean, outside of last season,
I think that was when they didn't have Travis Kelsey
and Chris Jones.
Yeah.
I think that was like one of the only losses Mahomes and Andy Reid have had in September.
Yeah, they do start strong usually.
That was interesting.
I also feel the opposite of what you said about the Jets.
The Jets are going to jet.
The chargers are going to charge and you always find a way to be that team.
I feel that way about Mahomes.
You don't want to bet against the guy about the Chiefs.
I'm going the Chiefs on that.
Starting off strong.
Kansas City's run defense.
I'm sorry, the Baltimore Ravens run.
No, Kansas City's run defense.
Better be ready for Lamar.
and now they've added to that running back.
What a nice matchup to get things going.
I know, right?
Arguably the two best teams in the AFC.
All right, hey, we got more.
Kavine-on-rich.

Quick, knowledgeable, and funny, opinionated.
What are you doing?
You're interrupting our promo.
Yeah.
He wasn't talking about you.
You took those clips totally out of context.
Oh, yeah.
Well, after this promo, I'm going to take you out and beat you.

Yeah, anyway, just listen to the Folly and Tony Fusco show

To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Hit us at Covino and Rich.
So,
We talked about it.
We teased it.
Now we got to get to it.
Yeah.
Earlier this week, we talked about Justin Herbert.
15 players, right?
15 players and staff.
12 or 15.
15 total.
We're stuck in an elevator for over two hours.
Get this.
A group of 15 people, including NFL players and staff.
We're stuck in a hot-packed elevator Friday night for nearly two hours.
That's a long two hours, too, probably.
start getting frustrated.
You think they start thinking who are they going to eat first?
Oh, no, no, not an island.
Who's ass am I going to kick, right?
You get hot and annoyed and everything.
Firefighters, get this, were called to pull each one out one by one through a narrow ceiling panel to escape.
So it was like a full-on rescue mission.
It's not like they fixed it.
And then the elevator came to the fifth floor and they let everybody out.
They had to pull them out of the panels.
It's kind of scary.
Imagine it turns out to be some weird team bonding thing that Jim Hall.
barball just set up.
Like, they'll get closer by doing this, trust me.
What if only one of the person stuck had a water bottle?
Oh.
Yeah, right?
You got to share it?
Yeah, I beat that.
No way.
You're not getting any.
But anyway, what really made it a story, I mean, I'm glad everybody's safe, but it wasn't
just Chargers, players.
It was Justin Herbert, too.
He was there.
So it got us thinking of other quarterbacks.
Maybe it'd hate to be stuck with.
But if you had to go to the bathroom.
Oh, that's...
Yeah.
Oh, you use that water bottle.
That'll change your perception of teammates.
Offensive liven, squatting in the corner.
Wow, we're in an elevator.
Oh, imagine if it's all big, like, giant linemen too.
That stinks.
Yeah, not good, not good, literally.
So the question is, think of the 32 teams in the NFL.
If you had to be stuck with a quarterback in elevator.
Nothing against her, Berber.
It just got us thinking.
Are there a few that are all.
automatic, like that would make the story worse if we were stuck with that guy.
I think there's two obvious answers.
I don't want to sound mean because you're pretty much saying like, I don't, I wouldn't want to spend time with this guy.
It's all in good fun, right?
I mean, what the general population would probably say.
If we surveyed 100 people, Family Feud style, I think that there's two people that would be in the top 100.
And I know your number one answer, and it's unfortunate because perhaps he's the nicest guy in the world.
but I feel like most people,
if this were Steve Harvey
and his big ass mustache
he's like,
survey says,
I feel like Russell Wilson's number one.
It is.
It has to be right.
Is everyone thinking the same?
Was that your first?
Can we say that respectfully?
Ryan, you agree, right?
Music.
Okay.
Here's why it's not disrespectful.
Okay.
Oh, thank you for doing that
because I feel,
I feel the minute I thought about
I'm like, yeah, I feel rude saying this.
Are you coming from a malicious place?
No, no.
Here's also why it's not disrespectful.
He is the clear-cut number one answer
because that's not even
necessarily our opinion.
That is the opinion of a lot of his former teammates.
You know?
Yes.
So that's not even like, oh, I don't like this guy.
Like, if you were like, oh, Kirk Cousins because he wears shirts from Coles, like, that's mean spirit.
Russell Wilson is like, no, a lot of his former teammates have come out and been critical of him.
I feel like Kirk Cousins, in two hours, I feel like I'd get to know him and he'd be inviting me over for a barbecue.
Absolutely.
Yeah, he seems like a swell fellow.
Actually, a good fellow because he wears good fellow clothing from Target.
That's true.
So I think, unfortunately, that would be the number one answer on the board.
But I do agree with Rich.
I bet you'd see him, meet him in person.
We'd switch out right away.
Yo, man, what's up, Russell Wilson?
Nice to meet you, man.
He's probably a really nice dude.
He's just a little misunderstood, let's say, in the locker room.
I think the number two answer, if we were going to ask 100 people with Karen Rogers.
I really do.
Just because of political differences, he's very outspoken, could rub people the wrong
I have nothing against him.
I think he's a great quarterback.
I just think he would be on that list of,
I would not want to be stuck on an elevator with that guy.
But he's not my answer.
No, he's not my answer.
I would be intrigued.
I feel like by the end of that elevator stuck situation with Aaron Rogers,
you might come out of there thinking about doing ayahuaski.
You might not know if we land out on the moon or not.
I think it might have a...
The reason he's in the news is so often is because he's polarizing to a lot of people.
I feel like that would be a fun one.
All right, my answer is...
Because it's bad enough I got to deal with this egomaniac
for 20 years now, Rich Davis.
You think I want to be stuck in an elevator with Jimmy Garoppolo
and his handsome face?
I'd like, get out of my face with your handsome face.
It would bother me too much to be stuck in an elevator with that guy for two hours.
No thank you.
He's my answer.
It'd be like looking at Rich again.
I'm like, what, can I escape this guy?
No thanks.
Is there someone that's a little eye-roly to you?
Like, from personal experience, I know Danny G.
Last year said, C.J. Stroud gave him the cold shoulder at the Super Bowl.
Oh, me and a couple other media.
he just was not interested in meeting anybody from the media.
Which was really surprising though, right?
Because Danny G's a cool dude and Danny G's just wanted to give him props.
Yeah, I didn't ask for a picture.
I didn't ask for an interview.
I just went up and said, hey, we talk about you on the network a lot.
He was by our stage.
Granted, you never know what people are going through.
Maybe he had a bad day, but.
Yeah, exactly.
You give people at least two chances, right?
But that's his story, is the truth.
So who comes to mind for you?
Does it have to be current quarterback?
What about Zach Wilson's mom?
Not him.
I'm kidding.
Zach Wilson?
No, but it has to be current, right?
No, I don't think so.
I was thinking...
So which quarterback would be the biggest nightmare based on that story?
Big Papa and I, we both used to work with Donovan McNabb.
If you were trapped in an elevator with him, he might vomit.
Yeah?
Yeah.
D-Nab.
I went to Syracuse.
We overlapped one year.
I got to watch him my freshman year.
Rich had to do his laundry.
Yeah, Rich May.
But hey, that's an interesting friend.
God, who would you not want to be stuck with?
Then you got to ask himself, who would you want to be stuck with?
As much as he's broken my heart as a Niners fan, two Super Bowls,
I think my homes would be fun to talk to.
I feel like my home's a good dude.
Really good.
If you watch quarterback on Netflix, like you said, Kirk Cousin seems like a really nice guy.
It's a good, dumb question to ask your buddies or bring up at the barbershop or something.
Well, it's always like, yeah, I mean, who'd you like to have a drink with?
Like, no, no, this is the elevator story.
This is what happened this week, so we're rolling with that.
Think about it.
You can chime in at Covino and Rich.
Any other answers as far as polarizing?
As far as Aaron Rogers, you could do some drugs with him.
Yeah.
I think those two immediately come to mind, Rogers and Russell Wilson.
His image changed completely in the last 12 months to a year to a year and a half for sale.
Baker Mayfield.
You might have rolled your eyes like, oh, Baker.
You may have been stuck in an elevator with him because he lived in Rich's place.
He lived in my building for a while.
He was training out here, and I didn't know it was him.
I was just, oh, the do the trains here.
I'm like, wait.
So it may have happened.
I do want to thank you guys for putting up.
I mean, hanging out with us today, Covino and Rich, to learn more about us at Covino and Rich.
And remember to join us tomorrow.
We'll be filling in for Colin.
Perfect.
Thank you, Colin.
Thank you, Colin's team.
And we'll see you then.
Arributarchee, baby.
See you in the Promise Land.
Have a good day, guys.
Let's go.
and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

On the look back at it podcast.
From 1979, that was a big moment for me. 84 was big to me.

There's a more important
