It's really interesting. It is going to be a carousel. I can't wait for this stuff.

By the way, in the last three years, Lane Johnson, who's going to get a lot of Hall of Fame votes, nine years in the league, three Pro Bowls, he's going to add a couple to that. He's allowed two sacks in three years. So he's a handful. And he is outspoken. And right now he's in Oklahoma. Everybody in the state hates me. Every single person. And he's a sooner.

And he is joining us live. I am not well-liked in your state. So let me be honest. When Lincoln Riley said, you know what, I like it here, but I'm going to try USC. Were you just beside yourself when he did that? I was beside myself for about two minutes, and I saw kind of what he was given. And I was like, that's a pretty sweet deal. But, yeah, I mean, unfortunately, losing a great coach is something you don't want to do at a program like Oklahoma.

With the person that we hired in Brent Bidables, I think he's going to turn things around for the better. He was there as a defense coordinator whenever I was playing. Yeah. And I just think he brings the intensity that this program is needed. I think the emissos maybe on the defense can hopefully get us over the hump. And I think it's where we're at right now. But yes, there was still a lot of angry, angry Obamans around here.

Oh, yeah, yeah. I hear from him every day, Lane, every day. Let me ask you about Doug Peterson. So he took the Jags job. I always liked Doug. I've had him on the show. I think he's fun. I think he always feels like a players coach.

Like you can't wear your players down. We've added another game. Camps are long. He's got a McVefeel to him that like he's good to be around. If you have to be around somebody a long time, I always liked him. When I go back to your years with Doug, what's his strength and what are things he could work on in your opinion? Well, I think he learned a lot from being under coach Reyes. I think just how to handle the, you know, the staff, handle the players.

I feel like he always wanted the players, the leadership to lead the locker room, and he would speak a lot to the older veteran players. So I think he commanded a lot of respect. I don't know, I guess something maybe to work on. I mean, he was very successful with us as far as making the playoffs. I don't know. I just maybe, you know, with Newtown coming to league, It's just a different type of person coming in.

So communication, I think, is ultimately the key in everything. Yeah. But I think you'll have a lot of success there. I know he's excited. Yeah. It's close to his home. Yeah, no, I like it. So I'm a fan of Carson Wentz.

He didn't end the year real great, but I will say this, 27 TD 7 picks. And I don't think the Colts have a great wide receiver group. I think Pittman's really good. And then it's kind of T.Y. Hilton's good, but he's about ready to go. So I thought Carson, I watched him this year, Duel Brady, go up against Matt Stafford. I mean, I watched them make a lot of plays. That's all I know.

There was, though, Lane, and you're a straight shooter. There was some knocks on him that, you know, what Noah was a great locker room guy, whatever. Listen, Aaron Rogers is a lot different personality than Russell Wilson. These guys aren't all the same dude. Are any of the criticisms of Wentz Fair, because we know he's talented? Lane, are any of the criticisms that he may not be one of the guys.

all the time. Is that fair? You know, I think the quarterback position is just under probably the most scrutiny maybe ever that has ever been. But I think that kind of comes with the territory of being the head of a franchise, the face of a franchise.

I think he's going to, if he doesn't stay with the Colts, I think he's going to land with a great team. I heard you talking about Pittsburgh. I think it would be a good pickup for him. Yeah. Just having that defense they have and then what he brings to the table. So, yeah, It's unfortunate that, you know, maybe not getting to the playoffs.

That's all you look at is in quarterbacks or what they do in the postseason. And then you can say it's fair, unfair, but at the end of the day, it's what comes with the territory. So moving forward, I think he'll get a shot somewhere. And I think this will be a point to where he can prove all the doubt that's wrong. So Lane Johnson did not allow a sack this year, and he's got a very mobile quarterback in Jalen Hertz. So you've been around this game for a long time. You know where the skeletons are buried. You know the ins and outs.

You got it down. Like at this point, you're one of the guys, the coaches come to, ask you about practice, ask you, you, you're going to lean on you and say, Lane, how's the locker room, blah, blah, blah. So then you get Jalen Hertz, who's a kid. And you're a veteran, he's a kid. And I could see a veteran offensive lineman, you know, being impatient or are we rebuilding. Where are you guys at? Because he did get you in the playoffs.

Where are you guys at with Jalen Hertz? I thought this year he made a tremendous statement. I feel like once we got back to our identity or established an identity and used, you know, everybody's strengths. I think, you know, we took off. It was unfortunate how the Tampa Bay Bay game turned out, but a lot of momentum, especially from going two and the five and then switching that around to what we did. So, you know, it's kind of been the tell of us the past few years that we started out slow. And I think that puts us in a bind there in December. And now have we come through?

Yes, but it's always been early playoff exits. So around the board, I know we're going to look at everybody. It comes with the nature of this business. Everybody gets evaluated. But seeing some of the plays that he made and what he's capable of, you know, we have a young receiving corps that's just getting better. Our offensive line, you know, Jordan Malotta, Landon Dixon coming to their own.

So I feel like a lot of upside is heading to this all season. And as you know, it's going to be a quarterback carousel. nobody knows what's going to happen or what's going to take place. But I think he proved what he's capable of and slowly build upon that. You know, even you look at Trevor Lawrence's situation. You know, Peyton Manning, one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. But, you know, he had 18 interceptions as a rookie or close to that. So, you know, like I said, a lot's done on their plate.

And I think he did a tremendous job this year. Yeah, I'm watching some of these highlights. He's making good throws. Yeah. And it does. make, especially for offensive tackle, if you have a mobile quarterback, it does change the pass rush. A lot of guys aren't going to break inane. They don't want him to escape. You look at Lamar Jackson a few years ago when he comes onto the scene, has that dynamic running ability. And it does.

It makes, it's a headache for the defense, especially whenever they're in zone and everybody's accounted for, then a guy breaks. And you see a lot of this with Jayland's able to break for 20, 30-yard scampers. And, you know, that's very deflating for a defense if you can't get it under control. I think I like Lane so much. a lot of these sooner people, they just are not very nice to me. I like Lane. You know what?

You just, you move way up on my sooner board. I like Bob Stoops. I like you. You know what? Baker and I, I think we have a chance. Hey, y'all had some corals early,

but it's, uh, see? Tritting upwards. That, Elaine, exactly. Baker and I, listen,

not every relationship's perfect. You have fights even with your wife, right? It happens. Yeah. No big deal. Hey, by the way,

part of it. Yeah. You've got something called a bro barn. So are you, are you, you got one of these things where all your guys work at this thing? Is this like a like a Jay Glazer workout place? What is this?

Man, it actually was an old horse barn on the property. So when I bought it, it was just nothing there. So I turned it to a gym. And even when I'm gone, a lot of the guys are still, um,

going over there working out just because it's, you know, maybe closer to their house and, and not to worry about anything. So, yeah, so the, uh,

a lot of the young guys are in there right now. Even when I'm not there. So how about that? It's all been good. But all right. Well, you know what? He was very classy on that Lincoln Riley question. You were very classy.

You could have gone sideways really fast. But you know what? You're a guy that's moved. When somebody comes up to you and they give you a big check and they sell you, you know what I mean? Like what did Chris Rock the comedian say? A man's as loyal as his options, right? Hey, there's always a few sides of the story. And I think, you know, it's really what you got to evaluate.

And so, like, yeah, I was shocked at first, and I saw some of the things that were, that were places on his table when I was going on. Not so bad. All right. It's great seeing you. Have a great offseason. Good soon. Appreciate you.

They find my rare bad takes, and that's all you hear. You know that rare. A joy with the news. No, no, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. All right, let's go back in time for a second. Oh, I'd love to.

Don't wear, never worn a watch, but I'm willing to go back in time. This is travel. The Warriors were up 3-1 on the Cavs in 2016. I remember. That was one of the great finals ever. NBA finals, it was. And there was a very specific moment in that finals that is still heavily discussed. And that is Jemann Green getting suspended.

Oh. The flagrant foul on the brawn in game five. That was brutal. Cleveland ended up coming back and winning the series. Many argue that that was the turning point in the series, that they would have won the Warriors had Jemann not gotten suspended. And Jemond said there's still one aspect of that situation that still bothers him. I think the one thing when I look back on it,

that bothers me is I would have been the finals MVP. And that totally changes the narrative. Good luck leaving me off the NBA 75 if I was finals MVP. Good luck even having the debate if I'm a Hall of Fame or not if I was finals MVP. But when I look back on that from a selfish standpoint, which I rarely do, I would have been finals MVP and that changes the course of everything. I don't think he's wrong. Oh, he don't know.

listen, it was a, people forget this. You go watch that MJ documentary. You forget how annoying and valuable Rodman was. Yeah. Okay, Draymond is that but can score and can handle the ball and pass. Like, Drayman's got skill set. And I feel like Draymond is a difference. He's a different guy than he was during that series.

Well. Like he still has the edge that Draymond has, but that particular incident, happened, the suspension, because he had so many flagrants. So like to me, that was the series right there. When Drayman was out and there's a lot of controversy about

whether he should have, it should have been a flagrant foul and whatnot, but you know, he's speaking personally to his legacy and what that I would have done had he not been suspended for his legacy. But overall as the team, which is, you know, he obviously cares about more. But you know, they would have, I think they would have won the series. I have a little bit of a connection to Draymond because he works

from my podcast network. So I know him and know people that work with him a lot. What makes Draymond absolutely rare is that he's a star and only wants to get better. It doesn't matter if it's podcasting. It doesn't matter if it's basketball. He is an absolutely curious soul. He has zero ability to rest in his laurels. It's just not in his DNA.

It's why it's one of the reasons we liked him so much is that he had like a grindersman mentality, but he was a star. Right. When you watch him broadcast, he is so authentic and raw, and all he cares about, he'll tell my guys, don't tell me nice things. What do I stink at? And so he's a very... That's also why he's going to transition to broadcasting after he's done playing very

seamlessly, because despite what everybody thinks, you do have to do some work. Yeah, no, he's just a very unique person. And I would absolutely confirm that him leaving the series changed the series. is an absolute pain in the butt for the calves. Totally pain in the butt. I think everyone would agree with that. I think the controversy comes in whether he should have been out and whether the calves would have been able to come back

and who maybe people would debate whether he would have been finals MVP or not. But it was obviously the turning point in the series. So the dolphins are committed to making it work with two as their quarterback apparently. And new quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator, Dale Bevel, said they're ready to mold the entire offense around him. He said the first thing is to get Tim ingrained in the system. Once we're able to do that, then I think the system is going to be built and tailored to him and bring out all the positives in his game.

The Dolphins had the last ranked offensive line last season, according to pro football focus. So all of this is very exciting, but I don't know how any of that works if you don't improve the offensive line. Right. I think that Tua deserves this opportunity to be the starting quarterback, unquestioned for one year of his career. Okay. If nothing else, considering where they took him in the draft. Very caring. I mean, it's not about caring.

It's what was the point? What was the point of drafting to it? It's been two in Fitzpatrick and then two in Deshawn Watson. And now you have a new coach. So I think that they should just give him the year at this point. What do you have to lose, Dolphins? Now, they do have Miles Gaskin, Devonte Parker, Jalen Waddle, Alan Hurons, Austin Jackson, and Jesse Davis under contract in 2022.

You know, it really is unfortunate that Brian Flores thing didn't work because they actually have a good team. I mean, they got players here. They got their old line. You've been on a seven-game winning streak last year. No, it's the last two years. They got players. It's not it.

They're old lines, the only part of this team that Brian Flores couldn't get right. Everything else is fine. They have receiving players. Waddle's been a great player. He's been fantastic. But to that point, you know, there isn't like, you know, an offensive line store. everybody wants a great offensive line. Everyone would like a great offensive line.

There's four good ones in the league. You can't be the worst. Yeah. It doesn't matter who your quarterback is. But you definitely can't be the worst with a smaller, not mobile, not as athletic, timing quarterback that needs that kind of protection in order to be successful. That's the key.

He's a timing quarterback. He's not Burrow. He's a timing quarterback. And for as incredible as Burrow was this year, he was also sacked 70 times. after coming off of a major knee injury and seven times in the Super Bowl. I really like a lot of the Dolphin players. I really do. I like a lot of their players.

They had back-to-back winning seasons and won seven games in a row last year. And in division with Belichick and the bills. They got players. But now they have a new coach. So we'll see. So Tom Brady has his next project lined up. He will produce and star in a comedy called 80 for Brady. It's based on a true story of four best friends and Patriots fans

who take a road trip to Super Bowl 51, New England. versus Atlanta, which was in Houston, which we were at. I was at that game. I wasn't at the game, but we were Fox had that game and we were in Houston leading up to the game. Brady will play a part in the film alongside Sally Field, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Lily Tomlin. Rita Moreno? Yep. It's based on four best friends.

Let's say something. Go look out Rita Moreno on images. She is age well. Marita Moreno is feisty and his age well. Well, 80 for Brady will be produced. There's production company, 199 productions, and it's set to begin this spring. He's done cameos playing himself before in Entourage and Ted 2. I admittedly did not see Ted 2.

I didn't either. I saw Ted, which I enjoyed. But, look, Hollywood is big business right now, probably more than ever because of all the platforms that are out there. everyone has a production company. A lot of these guys are producing really great content. Are you going to watch? You're going to check it out?

Yeah, no, I'll watch for Rita Moreno. It's a great cast. Google it right now, live TV. Rita Moreno. You want me to Google. You don't even know who she is, do you? I do know who Rita Moreno is? I don't know.

I bet you you're going to be surprised. Wonderfully. Like, everybody over 50 in my audience is. Yeah, she's beautiful. Isn't she beautiful? Yes. Hold on. Let me see this.

Hold on. One second. Folks, I usually am breaking stories here. Look at how good she looks. She has aged well. Look at her. How sophisticated she looks. Hey, Ryan, different generations. Sorry. You go down, get your hockey scores. We're talking about Rita Breno. No, I mean, she's literally like 90 years old. She looks unbelievable.

Isn't she? How old is she? She's 90? Look how good she looks? Gorgeous, beautiful woman. I think they've all aged well. Yeah, all. I don't, yeah, I don't know about 90. I think I'm probably going to let it go at like 80.

No. I'm going to hold on. Oh, 702, I ain't leaving the house. I'll tell you right now, I'm not leaving the house. You're done at 72? Nope, I'm not leaving the house. I'm going to do plastic surgery every couple weeks and just try to stay afloat. All right.

It's time for Hurd Stradamus. We have teams that need quarterbacks. Sorry, radio audience. You can't see this feeble attempt at our graphics department. I would have been a bad philosopher. Nobody would have taken me seriously with that point he knows. I disagree. Look at that.

Most of our show is about your philosophies and predictions. Court jester. You can't take that guy seriously. It's ridiculous. That's a sincere beard, though. It really is. Once you have a beard, you almost have to believe people. Literally, it's like it almost comes with like.

It's more learned. Yeah. This guy's got way, he's like an encyclopedia, just growing. All that knowledge in the beard. So here we go, Joy, heard stradamus. I'm going to predict the starting quarterbacks, week one, week one, team's quarterbacks, who's where? Okay. Who will be the Brown starting quarterback week one?

Baker Mayfield. They owe him $19 million when he was healthy last year. The offense was functional. Let's not go overboard here. They had the number one ranked offensive line, number four rushing game. By the way, if you wanted to trade him, why would you trade him now when he came off a really bad last month? Get him healthy. They still have, I still like their coach. I like their Jarvis Landry will get healthy. If you're going to move him, do it at the trade deadline. But week one, Baker. Seahawks, who's starting week one? My guess is Russell Wilson. He has a no trade clause. So if you want to move him, you're completely limited, and I don't think they want to move him. So, you know, guys got more wins 104 than any quarterback in league history through 10 years.

And that division, good luck starting over at quarterback. And again, if you were in the NFC South, maybe we could have a discussion. How do you move him out of that division, McVeigh, Shanahan, Kyler Murray? you can't move off him. Who will be the Steelers starting quarterback week one. I honestly believe this. I think Kenny Pickett, the Pittsburgh kid. First of all, he's old.

He's going to turn 24 this summer. They also have a ton of young ascending offensive players. I think he fits. This is not a veteran guy who'd get frustrated. Naji Harris, Chase Claypool, Deontay Johnson, the rookie tight end. Like, it's perfect. They're rebuilding their defense is expensive. But now you've got all these young, inexpensive guys.

on offense, he'd be a perfect fit to grow together with them. Who would be the Colts starting quarterback week one? I'm going to throw this out there. Mitch Trubisky. Unlike Wince, he's got a lower ceiling, but doesn't make as many big mistakes. And I'll throw this out there. He had a winning record, three of his four years in Chicago. The Colts will save almost $14 million moving off Wence.

Reports they're going to do that. Tribisky is viewed by a lot of people in this league as a starter, not a bridge. Now, he's a lower-end starter. But I think what they're looking for is the athleticism that Wentz provides, Mitch has that, with more stability and maturity, which they think Trubisky provides. Who will be the Giants quarterback league one? Daniel Jones. I mean, I don't want to be personal.

I mean, this is not what I would do. I think there's limitations. But they've already said that they want Brian Daibald to fix this. and I think one year from now they'll be drafting another quarterback. So I got nothing against him. I wish he and his family the best. But in this division, you can get away with it, maybe win some games, get a better coach in there. But this is it.

Broncos. They want Aaron Rogers. I don't think they'll get him. And I think having had Bridgewater, who's not reckless but limited, they're going to go Carson Wentz. It's not their first choice. But what they're doing is they're looking around and they're going, well, we have a much better receiving core than Indianapolis, and we have a better tied-end fan than Indy. So we're going to give him a younger offensive coach, way better weapons, and we think

we'll live with some of his recklessness. And for the record, they're a playoff team with Carson Wentz. I think they're a fascinating team. I think they're probably better with Aaron. But remember, Wentz is having to make a lot of things happen with that offense and Indy, because after Michael Pittman, they don't have a really dependable receiving core. T.Y. Hilton's older. So I think Denver would say, we're giving him way better weapons.

Let's make it work. Eagles. I think you're going to run back with Jalen Hertz. You just saw that video. The other thing is, you have great draft picks. Yeah, I think if you had Joe Burrow out there or Justin Herbert, I think they could make a move. But right now, why not? Seriani made it work.

There's some limitations. But the pocket's moving. He's athletic. he got him to the playoffs and in that division you can be patient for one more year. I think you, in that division, let's run it back one more year. He's the second best quarterback in that division right now. You can make the playoffs consistently, consistently. You have the second best quarterback in the division.

Who will be the saint starting quarterback? So this is where it gets interesting for me. It's going to be Taysam Hill, but I think they're going to draft Malik Willis at 18. Okay. So I think this is what they're saying. So they hired a defensive coach, right? So they lose the brilliance of Sean Payton. So what they're saying to themselves is,

we don't know if Taysam Hill, we've got him under contract, is the future. But he plays a similar style a little bit. He's not as good as Willis as a thrower. But they're going to bring Willis in to back up Taysam. They're both hyper-athletic guys. They're playmakers.

And their takeaway is Taysam can get banged up. Willis shares some of his skills. We're going to make our offense a little more RPO here. Okay, we're not, a lot of people think they're going to go James. I think that ship sailed. I think they're going to go draft Willis with Taysom. And in about a year, they're going to move off Taysam or he'll be the backup to Willis.

But I think there's a symmetry in the way they play. Willis has a much higher ceiling. But there is a similarity. They are strong athletic playmakers. The Packers. I am in the minority here. I think he stays. I think he's had a lot of success.

There's a lot of familiarity. He just got his heartbroken, the poor guy. His passer rating the last couple years has been 117. And again, I think I'm sure I'm, you know, I don't know. But my takeaway is there's just so much familiarity here. The division is still awful. He'll win it going away. He likes his coach.

I think he's going to stay. But if I'm wrong, you heard it here first. I'll probably be wrong. Who will be the Bucks starting quarterback with him? Okay. Now you're going to think I'm crazy. I'm going to go with Jimmy Garoppolo on this. I don't know when it happens, but the Buccaneers have the kind of roster that they could give a starting player to the Niners in the secondary or O line.

So I think what San Francisco wants for Garoppolo is a draft pick and a starter, and Tampa's got the depth to do that. By the way, Jimmy's 21 and 7 on the road as a starting quarterback, second only in league history to Patrick Mahomes. Why? Garopalo's gutty. Say what you want about him. he can be limited, but I trust him in big spot. No, I shouldn't say that. I think he gives you everything he has.

He plays. He's got an alpha in him, and I think for two years he'd work. The Niners. Trey Lance, I think this is a smokescreen that he's not ready because they want to get more for Garapolo. I think he's going to be raw, but I think they're going to give him as many snaps as they can. OTA, preseason camps, let it run. And I do think you didn't give up, I mean, they gave up three picks. three first round picks.

That's a lot of capital. And a third. And a third. The commanders. They want Russell Wilson. They won't get him. So what's a reasonable facsimile of an adult that learns the system quickly that you can trust? Teddy Bridgewater.

So what they want to do, I know, I know. But what they're saying is, Heineke runs around. I think they want to change their culture from the logo. I think they want like an adult in the room, a dependable guy. and I also think they could move up and try to draft a quarterback. But I think Denver's going to move Bridgewater, and I think Washington is not going to be one of the leading suitors for the other guys. And so I think they settled for Teddy,

and he gives them an adult presence in the room. He's not as flighty and turnover prone as Ryan Fitzpatrick. He's probably a better thrower than Taylor Heineke. And he's an adult. I love that game. I could be wrong on every single one, and I love that name. I think you're probably right for sure about the grounds and New York. I got a Trubisky Colt thing.

I feel very strongly about it. The Carson Wentz to the Broncos is interesting. Carson Wentz with Fant and Sutton, Patrick, Judy, Hamler. That's like that, and those backs, that is a lot of athletic. Denver's got dudes all over that offense and good corners and a pass rusher and a great young safety. I'm done. Joy is taking over the show tomorrow. Watch, have fun.
