This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged. It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque. Others say it's unleashing human potential. Either way, the podcast's
superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds. I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

Radio. He's a senior NFL reporter, Monday morning quarterback covering the NFL for almost 20 years.
He's joining us live on a busy day, Albert Breer. By the way, I said, listen, Pennsylvania, you're going to
decide the country's democracy going forward, stop panicking and acting like an eight-year-old
that didn't get your own way. If Sequin catches it, you're two and o over the Packers and the
Falcons who could both win their division. That's my takeaway, is that they've spent more money
on offense than defense. They're going to lose some games like this. They're the opposite of the
Steelers. They're great offensively, some limitations, defensive. That's my perception. Do you sense
panic in Philly? No, I don't think so. I mean, I think they're sort of where they expected to be
No, A.J. Brown last night, obviously, that's a factor.
But the big thing, Colin, is they're still really strong at the lines of scrimmage.
And I think if you look at last night, that wasn't a problem for them.
Could the run defense have been a little bit better?
Sure.
Is there some transition moving from Fletcher Cox to Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter?
Absolutely.
Same thing on offense with Jason Kelsey gone and Cam Juergens in as a center.
But they've invested so many resources in the offensive and defensive lines.
that's going to keep them in every game.
And they were right in this one until the very end.
And the good news is they should get better outside of those areas.
You know, again, like, A.J. Brown wasn't out there last night.
What does it look like with Jahan Dots
and having a month or two under his belt as the number three receiver?
And then on defense, like how young that secondary is,
guys like Quine and Mitchell, maybe it's not, you know,
Darius Slay covering Drake London, if this is two or three months from now,
maybe Mitchell's out there covering him, you know, their first round pick.
Gene's playing a bigger role.
So look, like, they're still really good in the areas you need to be good in.
And I think they're going to get better over the course of the season everywhere else.
They beat a really good Packers team in Brazil.
This was a coin-flict game.
They'll be fine.
Listen, they didn't have Jordan Addison, T.J. Hawkinson,
at the end, Justin Jefferson, and Sam Darnold ate San Francisco for lunch.
Do you think even Minnesota?
And we're seeing guys like Gino and Baker and Sam, kind of a rebrand.
boot for these veteran guys with a lot of snaps if they get decent protection.
You think Kevin O'Connell, you talk to him in the camp, is a little surprised by how good
it's gone for Darnold?
You know, I actually talked to him on Sunday, and I don't think he really is.
And I know that sounds weird, but, like, they looked at how Donald finished his last season
in Carolina playing for Ben McAdoo, and then how he played last year on Kyle Shanahan.
Now it was very limited, the action he got.
But go back and look at that Christmas night game
against the Ravens for San Francisco.
Now is a blowout.
Baltimore won by a million.
But Darnal got in there in the fourth quarter.
And if you go and you really watch Darnel play,
he looks like a different player.
He does.
And he's an excellent fit for what Kevin O'Connell wants to do.
He's got a big arm, put the ball wherever he wants,
and he's athletic.
He's got all the trace that he had when he was a third overall pick.
In fact, I would argue if you go back and you look at his history,
history. Go back and look at what happened with the Jets. He played for Adam Gase. And Adam Gase was
trying to put in an offense that worked for Peyton Manning. Darnold came in the league as somebody who
was very raw, athletic, like almost the antithesis of what we think of when we think of
SC quarterbacks. That's what he was. He needed a lot. He needed time. And he needed a simpler
offense. And, you know, I think what's happened over the last couple of years is he's gotten
in offenses that are simpler, that get him playing faster, that take some of the mental load off of
him and allow him to go out there and be an athlete. And I think we really saw that on Sunday.
This is a really good fit for him in Minnesota. Maybe not, maybe it's not a long-term fit because
J.J. McCarthy's there. But I think he's going to play really well the rest of the year. I know
Kevin thinks he's going to play well the rest of the year. And he's going to set himself up if he does
to play somewhere in 2025, whether it's in Minnesota or elsewhere.
So listen, I said that's one thing that there's red flags that surface with Caleb Williams.
It's all the red flags, coaching competency, Keenan Allen's health, regression of O line,
lack of accuracy, not staying with instructor.
And I've said this.
You can go back to Lamar and Mahomes and Josh Allen.
It was strong coaching and coordinating that took these improvisational talents,
put them get back in the fairway.
Let's clean your game up with Josh Allen.
He's been very – Josh Allen with Dave O'N Brady's a different quarterback, right?
So strong coaching good coordinator, they can take these wildly gifted quarterbacks
who can get a little ad libby, a little off script, pull them back in the fairway.
My question is in Caleb.
Is Chicago's infrastructure set up?
Do they have the ability to get an improvisational start on the fairway?
You know, it's interesting you bring that up, Colin,
because, and you bring up Josh Allen specifically,
because I remember talking to Brian Daibol about this when he first got Alan,
and he had him watch a lot of tape of Tom Brady.
Now, Brady, of course, was together with Daveyall and New England two separate times,
and Dave all's offense is New England's offense.
So what he wanted Josh to look at was how many easy throws Brady made,
how many layups he took.
And he was trying to impress on Josh Allen so much of what Tom Brady is,
is doing the easy stuff.
It's taking the easy things.
It's taking the easy money.
And he eventually got through to him,
and that's really what got Josh
to buy into what they were trying to do.
I think you're starting to see that with Caleb Williams.
And there are two pieces to this, right?
Like there's the first piece,
which is the improvisational stuff,
which Caleb's going to go through a process now
and has been going through a process
the last couple of weeks of figuring out
what he can and cannot get away with.
Then there's the other piece,
which is playing with Instructure
and learning to do the easy stuff.
And that's what Shane Waldron and the offensive staff in Chicago have been trying to do.
And I actually think if you watched that broadcast, right, you watch back what Chris Collinsworth said.
I think we all thought Chris maybe went a little overboard when, you know, I think Caleb completed a little slant in the second quarter.
Yeah.
And Chris Collinsworth was acting like he was like reinventing the wheel.
Like, oh, my God, we didn't see this last week.
Well, Chris was in the production meeting with all the coaches, right?
That's what they're trying to get them to do.
They're trying to get him to do the easy stuff.
And after what Caleb went through last year with the offensive line being what it was at SC and everything else,
like he kind of got off track with that stuff.
So they're trying to get them back on those rails, like you said.
And again, it's about taking the easy stuff.
And we saw little glimpses of it against Houston.
We're going to need to see a whole lot more of it.
The good news is the bears are good enough on defense and special teams to keep him in games while he's figuring it out.
So I have to be very cautious with my Jets' opinions because old J-MAC gets hypersensitive.
But my takeaway through two games is that Aaron's mobility is closer to Kirk Cousins than Kyler, Lamar, Josh, Mahalms.
Yeah.
He doesn't move.
That's fair.
Okay.
That's number one.
Number two is Nat Hackett is not a top 10 coordinator.
They have very little motion.
I was told years ago that Aaron doesn't like a lot of motion.
He's not a fan of it.
He wants to see the defense.
That's fine.
But the best offensive coaches in this league, Saints now with Kubiak, they're moving.
It is deception and sleight of hand.
Everybody thinks this is a defense first and that Aaron's a savior.
But he's now a 40-year-old that doesn't move in the pocket, an okay offensive line,
and not a highly deceptive offense.
have we kind of overhyped this whole Aaron's the Savior thing?
I think this offense is a Breece Hall sprained ankle from remedial.
Well, let me explain to you like why he doesn't want motion first of all.
Okay, like this is this goes back and look like Matt LaFleur is from the Kyle Shanahan,
Mike Shanahan, Sean McVeigh School of Offense.
They love motion.
They love movement.
And LaFleur basically cut it out of the offense because Aaron didn't want that.
it. The reason why Aaron doesn't want it, the same reason Peyton Manning didn't want it,
which is they want to see the field and they want to move guys around on their own
so they can figure out what the coverage is and make their decisions accordingly.
So that's an Aaron Rogers thing. Some veteran quarterbacks like it that way.
That's why Aaron wants it that way. So, you know,
like they have to do things to create, you know, open receivers to create a running game
without the motion. And that's a process too, and they're going through that right now.
I think if there's one encouraging sign from the game against the Titans on Sunday,
it's the big run that Braylon Allen broke at the end, the 20-yard run at the very end of the game
that wound up being the game winner was Braylin Allen's second touchdown, right?
He's a big burly back out of Wisconsin, 20 years old.
That was the result of them chipping away and chipping away and chipping away with the run game.
And I think over time what we're going to see is that they're going to lean a lot on the run game.
they're going to lean a lot on their defense.
They are trying to set this up.
So Aaron doesn't have to be the savior.
They want to set up like Tampa had it with Tom,
where they can win lots of different ways.
And the first two weeks have been about trying to build that sort of team.
So the run game really didn't get on track against San Francisco,
much better against Tennessee.
And the hope is now you're going to go into the New England game on Thursday,
and you're going to be able to see something that's a lot more versatile
and a team that can win a lot of different ways.
So, you know, I always hesitate to call the first month of the season and extended preseason,
but that's sort of the way the NFL sets up now, and the Jets are still building the offense for Aaron Rogers.
And I think such a big part of the offense is what they're doing with that run game,
what they're doing defensively as well.
And I think the very end of that Titans game, when Braylon Allen breaks that run off at the very end,
and what Brees Hall was able to do earlier in the game is a sign of where they're going offensively.
and maybe we'll see a bigger view of what the vision's going to be for the offense on Thursday against the Patriots.
I don't want to spend too much time in the Carolina Panthers, but Bryce Young,
is there a possibility?
They're just done.
They're moving off.
They're moving in at the trade deadline.
I mean, I'm sorry, but two weeks in tells you this offensive coach sees nothing.
I mean, Andy has been out of its prime for seven years.
Is it over for Bryce Young?
can I see I'll tell you what opponents are seeing because I think that that's really
like that that can be really informative as far as where the Panthers are with him right now
the Panthers the opponents of the Panthers right now are seeing a guy who is very
reluctant to push the ball down field who isn't seeing the middle of the field which could
be a symptom of the fact that he's 5 foot 10 and worst of all a guy's whose eyes are dropping
who's looking at the rush and that means he's already at the point in his second year
where he's taking enough hits where he doesn't want to take any more.
And I think that's part of why Dave Canales is in this position where he had to sit him down.
Because remember, Dave Canales is in year one of his program there, and he's still earning the trust of the players.
And a big part of that's going to be, what are you doing to help the team win?
What are you helping to do me individually?
What are you helping me do in the long run that's going to help me get paid?
And if there's a player in there that's holding everybody back, that's holding the group hostage,
well, then it's on the coach to get that player out of there.
And I think players have some understanding of,
okay, well, it's a young quarterback.
He's coming along.
But if other players aren't seeing the progress,
at least incrementally being made,
well, then that can create a problem for a coach
with the rest of the locker room.
And I've got a sneaking suspicion.
That's where Dave Canales is right now, Bryce Young,
that he needs to get him back to a point
where he can sell the guy to the locker room.
And, you know,
if you want to talk about a potential trade,
happening. I just, I mean, Colin, right now, based on the investment that they've made in him,
I don't know where some team is going to come along and offer them something that's going to make
it worth it for them to move off of him, right? Like, I don't think they can give up on him this
early. But I do think, like, the way it's gone the first two weeks has made it so it's difficult
for Canales to sell the quarterback back to the locker room. And if you're a first year coach,
two games in, and you can't sell your quarterback to the veteran.
players in your locker room who aren't concerned about your three-year plan who are more concerned
about where they are individually well then you know you got to do what you got to do i think that's
where canales is right now albert bairn nobody better monday morning quarterback is always buddy great
seeing you all right thanks calling not throwing the ball down the field justin field's not
throwing the ball down the field californs throwing the ball down the field just not accurately
and cj stroud throwing it anywhere he wants to i mean that
the great ones, you can spot it real quick.
I used to always say it. You watch these shows, The Voice, America's got talent, American Idol.
Takes you about eight seconds.
You're like, yep, that's a star.
It doesn't take very long.
It's the same with C.J. Stroud.
Second start.
Wow.
Kyler Murray, second start, Burrow, second start.
Cam Newton's first start.
I remember he made a throw up the left side against Arizona.
I'm like, yeah, that's going to work.
I remember Matt Ryan playing at home against Chicago left sideline, made a throw.
I was like, yep, that's going to be a 10-plus year starter.
It does not take long to see it.
That's what's disturbing.
Like Bryce Young now, we got lost arts.
How's the a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-n.

Do you remember when Diana Ross
double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam Jek.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it.
And we don't know when we've done enough.
Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross.
Because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth.
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

J-Mack with a news.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on a news.
This is the herd line news.
You know who didn't have it early is Gino Smith, who flamed out bad.
badly early in his career, but man, he has rebounded strong, led the Seahawks to a really
nice fourth quarter comeback and the overtime victory over the Patriots Sunday.
Gino said he's been preparing for these moments since he was a kid and he wants the ball
in his hands in crunch time.
My mindset put the ball in seven hands, man.
That's my mindset.
You know, I always, you know, dreamed about these moments growing up.
It's a dream come true just to be here.
So whenever I'm in this situation and the game's on the line, I'm so happy and just excited, you know, for those
opportunities. I look forward to them actually. So I know that there's going to happen more and more
times throughout the season. And, you know, the best quarterbacks always find ways to win.
And I want to be, you know, regarded in that light. So I just want to continue to be there for my team,
you know, do what's right, make the plays when they come. You know what I love about Gino Smith,
and I've been critical of Gino Smith. All my Seahawk buddies are like, we need a new quarterback.
Here's a great quality in life. That dude is grateful, and that's a great quality.
Gino Smith is completely grateful, not just about the money, about the opportunity to get a second chance.
And this defensive coach, they're not going to have to score a lot.
Seattle's got some dudes.
Those last three drafts for the Seahawks, John Snyder, they got dudes.
They're a fast, fast team.
Well, he got humbled early in his career.
That's right.
And by the way, Baker's still got a little chip, but he didn't have a chip on both shoulders.
Baker now is grateful.
I know Sam Darnold's grateful.
So it's like, Gino is, I can't root against Gino.
I do think to hoist a trophy, they got to a Super Bowl with Hasselbeck, they won a Super Bowl with Russell Wilson.
So, I mean, I don't think, in my opinion, I think those guys are in their prime better.
But I will say this, the qualities that Gino provides, glimpses of are great qualities.
That dude is nothing but smiles and so grateful for the second chat.
You're seeing this all over the league, these guys.
It's great.
It kind of flew under the radar, but in week one against Denver, it was a Kenneth Walker game, right?
Gino didn't have it.
He's banged up again.
He's hurt.
He misses.
So they put in Charbonnet, the kid from UCLA, he couldn't get anything going on the ground.
So they're like, Gino, we got to put the ball in your hands.
And I had Seattle in that game, and I'm like, that's not good news.
Gino, 33 of 44.
No, he's.
He played his mind.
75% completions, touchdown.
Like, he was pretty flawless.
To me, that's a huge sign.
And they have three, three good receivers.
This team is dangerous.
Like, quietly, I don't think people are buying in yet.
Gino is a little Kirk Cousins.
If you give him ample protection.
He's a little more mobile, but it's not a terrible.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Kirk Cousin Gino throw a gorgeous ball accurately.
They need protection in the pocket if you hurry both.
It doesn't usually end well.
But there is something to be said.
Gino throws.
Gino is a big, you know, that's the thing about C.J. Stroud and Bryce Young.
Who's the bigger, stronger athlete?
I know we all love the small guys.
Let's be honest.
The majority of the guys in this league that can play are big dudes.
And Gino, stand next to Gino's a big dude.
He sits in that pocket, top of his feet.
He's a big dude, can see the field, and he throws strikes.
Help me understand this.
Seahawks at home against Skylar Thompson and the Dolphins.
This was at five and a half.
I don't get the line.
Somebody's betting Miami, it's down to five.
Five is a dead zone, but still.
I guess the line was seven and a half.
That was my guess.
You know, sometimes I look at the lines like on last night, I'm looking at lines.
I thought it would be a seven and a half line.
So that, to me, is one of my plays.
I wonder if the Malik Willis comes in.
Nobody thinks he can beat the Colts.
and Malik Willis was like competent
and knew what he was doing.
I know it was our heavy run game,
but do people see that and think,
oh, we're overvaluing Tua.
Yeah, but Skyler, he was a quarterback
in a playoff game for them.
They didn't win.
Malik Willis is a much better athlete than Skylar Thompson.
You can do stuff, and also Malik Willis,
nobody'd ever seen him play.
People have film on Skyler Thompson.
Yeah, I want to take, I mean,
I did bet Seattle already,
but I want to take them in the contest,
and I'm a little scared off by this money on Miami.
What am I missing?
Like Tyreek here,
I mean, the Seattle secondary is good.
You know, Bitcoin's big in Miami.
Maybe it's just Bitcoin guys from Miami, betting on the fence.
Bitcoin guys.
Okay, let's move on.
Oh, I love this.
Titans coach Brian Callahan caught on camera cursing at Will Levis after that horrific
turnover against the Jets on Sunday.
Well, the media asked Callahan about it, and he apparently has no regrets about F-bombing
his quarterback.
Don't regret my feelings about it, but yeah, I'm sure there's some things I could probably
do better.
I'm generally pretty composed.
I think you guys have seen that for the most part.
You know, that one just set me off.
And I'm human like everybody else.
I have blackout moments where I'll lose my mind.
I try not to.
I try my best to keep it together.
But that one was hard for me to watch.
Here's the first day.
The interception against Chicago.
I can't even watch that.
Yeah.
I had Tennessee and the points.
I'm sick to my stomach.
And then here's the one again.
Against the Jets.
Look at that.
Oh, I can't.
Come on.
So then look at Caliand.
There he is.
I love that play by Willis.
I want more of that.
Now, listen, we got our team here came up with some stats on Will Levis.
So in his NFL debut, do you remember it?
He had four touchdowns.
No, he was great.
Okay.
Do you know what he's done since that?
Oh, I don't.
Bad.
Here we go.
Two wins, eight losses, six touchdowns, seven picks in ten games.
But here's my thing.
It was all fool's goal, Colin.
It's the giveaways.
Yeah.
Dude.
Look at that 13 giveaways in 10 games.
I mean, I don't think they can, like,
bail on him at this point in the season,
but this is a prove-it season.
Otherwise, Callahan's just going to be like,
we need a new quarterback.
I don't know where you go,
because Tennessee's not going to be drafted in top five, right?
They're probably a 6-7-win team.
They're probably drafted in around the 10-15 range.
No.
Oh, no.
No, Tennessee's a 5-win team.
In Indianapolis, the Jags, and the Texans
are absolutely bad. They could go
1 in 5 in division. These
are the games they're supposed to win.
There's a strong argument. Titans should be
2 and 0 right now, if not for Levis.
I think sometimes
what does it tell you this? Here's what I take.
This coach is being personal.
He's not apologizing.
I mean, usually when you have a young
quarterback, you're encouraging. Callahan
is saying we're better off punting.
I believe
that is Callahan
seeing this ego and saying,
I am, bro, I'm popping this balloon.
I am popping this.
This is not a gracious kid.
By the way, the Giants do everything they can to say nice stuff publicly about Daniel Jones.
Because Daniel Jones is a good kid.
He's struggling, but he's a good kid.
When a coach comes out aggressively, ripping him and doesn't apologize, there is a reason for that.
And the reason is, this is a cocky kid.
And they're going to just, they're puncturing the balloon with this kid.
So what if it's that Callahan has seen, I mean, his dad is coached forever?
He's seen that you get one opportunity to be a head coach.
Okay?
And if it fails because your quarterback stinks and he's giving the ball away, that might be it.
You might just be a coordinator the rest of your life.
What if Callahan sees that and is already like, guys, I'm not failing here because of this guy.
No, because everybody is the reason they're owed to.
Yes, and everybody in the world gets that.
So Callahan does now, now maybe his personality is edgy, perhaps.
But I do not remember a coach coming in.
you know what this feels like
Sean Payton Russell Wilson
Sean told you this is bad
and called him out why
because he wanted him out the door
that's the last time a coach just said
I'm not even going to apologize
and what happened
see ya
Levis this is Levis's last year
in Tennessee
Quinn Ewers
Quinn you know what
I'll give you credit are you coming around on Quinn Ewers
I am all right it took a couple years
he was a little Drew Locke a little
loose for me
he's grown up.
Now, Shadur Sanders, no thank you.
So I'm coming around on Quinn yours.
All right, final story is Dave Canales.
After Sunday's game, he said that Bryce Young would be his quarterback going forward
that lasted less than 24 hours when he announced that
Bryce Young is getting benched in favor of Andy Dalton.
Fox Sports NFL insider Jordan Shultz said that Young was very shocked at the benching
and the decision came out of nowhere.
Bryce Young, I don't know how he looked at his stat line of 18 for 26 for 84 yards and thought that I'm not in trouble.
He was only pressure on two of 28 dropbacks.
Chargers weren't even pressuring him, and he was still a disaster.
Listen, you don't want to pile on the young kid.
He's probably going through it right now.
I don't know, Colin.
Again, he has been bad, and his organization feels bad about the benching.
They're saying positive stuff because Bryce is a good guy.
kid. I do think there's this. Bryce played at a high school powerhouse and a college powerhouse.
He's managed. I mean, he's good player, but he's never had to carry anything. Not that he's
been carried, but he's never had to carry. It's the first time. It's a big lift.
Yeah, he says three coaches in 18 games, right? Whoever the interim was. I mean, Caleb Williams went,
Lincoln Riley, Lincoln Riley, now a defensive head coach. It's a whole different ball game.
J-Mac with the news. Well, that's the news. And thanks for stopping by.
lie news. Man, this show
flew by today. Just flew
by. Wasn't a great hair day, but
you can't. Some days, things just don't work out.
I got, I slept like a
bear last night. Last night.
Dude. You got a text
about the hair? What's good? What do you want? I'm not going to get into it.
Oh, boy. Oh, all right.
People came out here. Very sensitive.
Management a little on edge.
Why?
You know, whatever.
A lot of reasons. Okay.

Hey, we're Kavino and Rich. Fox Sports Radio every day, 5 to 7 p.m. Eastern.
But here's the thing. We never have enough time to get to everything we want to get to.
And that's why we have a brand new podcast called Overpromised.
You see, we're having so much fun in our two-hour show.
We never get to everything.
Honestly, because this guy is over-promising.
and things we never have time for. Yeah, you
blubber lips. Blame in me. Well, you know what?
It's called Overpromise. You should be good at it because you've been
over-promising women for years. Well, it's a
Kavino and Rich after show, and we want
you to be a part of it. We're going to be talking sports,

it will continue on our after show
called Over-Promised. Well, if you don't get enough
Kavino and Rich, make sure you check out
Over-Promis, and also uncensored, by the way. So, maybe we'll go at it
even a little harder. It's going to be the best

I'm Sam J.
Thank you finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

in the pursuit of the thing, we
get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we
are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it. And we don't
know when we've done enough. Because people
scoreboard watch. Life becomes about
wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross.
Because you find it important to be a good person
while you hear on earth? Are you a good person because
you're afraid? Because that's two different
intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

Nick Wright last week when I had the Eagles in the Hurt hierarchy,
pushback, mocked me, eye-rolled me.
After last night's loss, Nick Wright remained steadfast in his belief,
the Eagles aren't it.
They are as poorly coached, and I know it's weird
because Siriani's got a great record,
But he makes his fourth down decisions like a blackjack player that alternates hitting on a 12 against a 2 based on feel of the deck.
And then at the end of games, he makes incomprehensibly bad calls, which is one of the reasons the Eagles in their last eight games three times have led in the final two minutes and lost.
They have a bad defense.
They're poorly coached and their quarterback is becoming increasingly hard to trust.
Yeah.
I can't strongly disagree with that.
I did not have them in the top 10.
I didn't have the Steelers in the top 10.
I didn't have the Packers in,
although a lot of that's because I don't think it's fair.
What are you now?
Well, with Malik Willis, the Packers are not a top 10 team.
I had San Francisco at like 8 because they don't have Debo or McCaffrey.
I'm asking, what are you now?
Like the Chargers, totally healthy, Houston totally healthy.
That's different.
So I think the three best teams, three or four best teams I've seen actually are AFC teams, but five on, it's a lot of NFC teams.
So the four best teams I believe right now are Kansas City, Houston, Buffalo, the Chargers.
Those feel like the four best teams in the league.
So here's why I think he's overrating this Eagles struggles poorly coach.
So A, their secondary is very young, right?
They brought in a new guy, and then they drafted a couple dudes.
So it's very great.
It's going to take some time, obviously.
New defensive coordinator.
No AJ Brown last night.
Okay, I think that
that hurts him.
They had no vertical passing game, Colin.
This is a Super Bowl contender
in what is it kind of a surprisingly good NFC?
You tell me who's definitely,
right now, definitely better
than the Philadelphia Eagles and the NFC.
Well, the Niners are not.
They're beat up.
They're beat to hell.
Atlanta just beat them in Philadelphia.
Come on.
They trail the, no.
You live in this world of, you know,
if this would have happened, well, that doesn't really count.
I would argue Atlanta, Kirk Cousins will be better in a month than now, just like Aaron will.
When you're older and come off a surgery, you tend to be weak.
I mean, Kirk looked much better in the second half than the first half last night.
Why?
He's coming off of surgery.
He looks stiff in the first game, a little stiff first half, great in the second half.
Like Aaron and quarterbacks that are older off surgeries, it's a process.
Okay.
Well, what about quarterback with a new center?
Kelsey gone and a new offensive coordinator.
The push push still works.
New running back.
Come on. A lot of newness.
You really think the Falcons are that good, huh?
I picked them to win 12 games
in their division. That is not happening.
That is definitely not.
Does you watch that final drive?
They're not a 12-11. Looked like Mahomes
in his prime.
One drive.
Boom, boom, boom, boom.
Hey, you know who else had a good drive?
Gardner Minshu had a couple
good drives in the fourth quarter.
Let's put them in the Hall of Fame, Cowherd.
Come on.
The difference is Kirk's a four-time Pro Bowl.
Ooh, Pro Bowl!
Now, I have not gone overboard on this,
but you would acknowledge,
Sam Darnold looks good.
No, undeniably.
Didn't have his number two receiver,
his number one tied end,
and then Justin Jefferson got hurt,
and the game clinching drive without him.
They got Texans this weekend, huh?
I think so.
That's a tough draw.
That's a really good game.
But it's at home.
Yeah.
I kind of like Houston, unfortunately.
I think, don't know.
Well, if Justin's Jefferson's out,
and Jordan Addison's out, and Hawkinson's out?
Do we know if Jefferson's out for sure?
I mean, I don't think he returned to the game, did he?
Well, that's different.
Bro, they're down their top three pass catchers?
We'll see.
I think it's a little early in the week,
but I don't know how they keep up with this Houston offense.
But then again, the Houston offense couldn't do anything.
I was actually really underwhelmed by Houston,
and then I was like, timeout.
This is a really young Houston team.
Everybody's young.
The receivers are young.
I mean, Joe Mixon's one of the veterans.
There's a lot of young kids.
Stefan Diggs.
They got chemistry stuff.
They have youth.
I was underwhelmed by him.
But I also think Chicago's defense is pretty good.
I felt like they ran on first down like 90% of the time, like dives into the middle of the line of scrimmage.
Jet sweeps to tank dell.
I didn't love the sequencing at all times from Sloick.
But I'm nitpicking because I had the Texans and they didn't cover.
So did I.
Very disappointing.
And I'm done.
and Will Levis. I'll tell you that. Definitely.
See you tomorrow.
