This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Hey, guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey, Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel. Help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the ice.

This is Saigon, the story of my family and of the country that shaped us.
From IHeart Podcasts, Saigon.
You don't think I'm serious about a free Vietnam?
One city, a divided country, and the war that tore America apart.
This is for Vietnam.
They're pouring patril all over here.
Freedom for Vietnam!
There's a fire coming to this country, and it's going to burn out everything.

Welcome back to the herd.
Jason McIntyre in for Colin Cowherd.
He's under the weather.
He will be back Thursday from New Orleans.
Can't wait.
Super Bowl is nearly upon us.
And to celebrate, let's bring in one of Colin's favorite guests, Greg Koschell, NFL films.
The guy's a legend, breaking down videos, wait until you see the Sequin Barclay stuff.
He's got cooked up.
Greg, it is a pleasure to finally talk to you.
I'm so excited.
You know, first of all, great to officially talk to you.
excitement level for the Super Bowl begins and ends with.
My excitement for the Super Bowl is always high because, you know, it's funny you say that
because people always ask me, you know, what's going to be the deciding factor?
And I always feel I can't answer that because to me, from watching tape, I think there's,
you know, 10, 12 variables that could play out in these games that we just don't know.
There's always a few tweaks that coaches make.
You know, the obvious stuff is the Sequin-Barkley stuff.
The obvious stuff is Mahomes.
That's the obvious stuff that everybody can talk about.
But I just love getting into the weeds and the details of these games.
And that's what really fascinates me, Jay Mack.
Yeah.
So you mentioned Mahomes.
Obviously, his legs have been huge in the last two games, scrambling.
Do you think we'll see that same success against the Eagles?
Well, you know, it's funny you say that.
I actually went back, and we did in our matchup room here at NFL Films.
And we looked at some of the games when he was the head coach at baseball.
Denver because he played Mahomes six times. And they did not spy Mahomes when Vic Fangio was the
coach at the head coach at Denver. So I'm very curious to see how the Eagles decide to deal in those
kinds of situations, you know, third and seven, second and eight, how they decide to deal with Mahomes
because he clearly, as you so rightly pointed out, he uses his legs much more in the playoffs
because it's such a big factor in breaking down the discipline of defenses.
So I'm curious to see what Vic Fangio does with his rush.
The Eagles are not a heavy blitz team.
When they do pressure, it's more often what we call sim pressure,
meaning they still rush four.
Just one of the four tends to be a linebacker,
and they drop out a defensive lineman.
So, you know, my sense, it'll be much more of a controlled rush,
trying to keep him in the pocket.
But again, he obviously throws the ball really well, so that in and of itself doesn't mean that you stop him.
Yeah, that's a great nugget on looking at Fongio's history, not spying Mahomes.
I'm sure gamblers are interested in that, but I'm going to take it next level.
So do you think that's because of the personnel he had with those teams, and maybe he has different personnel that are able to spy Mahomes this time?
He's got to change tendency, right?
Yeah, and that's a great point because there's going to be some tendency breakers.
there always are in a Super Bowl because teams have two weeks to prepare.
So obviously they don't reinvent the wheel as far as their entire concepts of what they've done all season,
but they always add some things that are just a little bit different than what they've done.
So maybe they will spy.
Look, they've got a really long athletic linebacker in Oren Berks.
He's 6.3, 2.30, 2.35 in college, he played a lot of safety.
It's very possible that they could use him as a spy.
Even Zach Vaughn is a very athletic player.
Now, Zach Bonn has other really strong traits where I'm not sure they'd want to use him as a spy.
But, again, I'm not Vic Fangio.
I don't know.
But Orrin Borks seems to me if they do want a spy, that would be the likely candidate to do that because of his length and athleticism.
I like that name.
That's good stuff.
How does Casey's running game?
Kareem Hunt looks invigorated these last couple weeks.
I guess the by week really helped him.
How do they match up against Eagles?
Because nobody really runs on Philly.
Well, you know, it's funny, too, because you get to the playoffs,
and it always seems as if the Chiefs add a little more to their run game.
I mean, we've seen that when you go through the playoffs, even in the last number of years.
You can even think back two years ago to the Super Bowl against the Eagles
when they really came out and ran the ball.
And even in the AFC championship game this year against Buffalo,
Hunt was a pretty big factor.
You know, he may not run for 130 yards,
but the run game is a little bit of a factor.
I guess the larger point for me is the Chiefs have kind of evolved over these last two years,
J. Mack into a team that plays a lot out of multiple tight ends, two and three tight ends.
Close to 50% of their offensive snaps often come out of multiple tight end personnel.
The Eagles want to play nickel with five defensive backs.
They do not want to take Cooper Dijian off the field.
So the question is, will they do that against two and maybe three tight ends,
or will they take Dijian off the field?
Now, Dijin is a big physical guy for a slot corner,
but I think that's one of sort of the games within the game of this Super Bowl.
Yeah, that's great stuff.
And Dijin, for those who remember, he's the one who really jacked up Derek Henry in the regular season.
It was like, whoa, this is a tough rookie.
Let me ask about the tight ends.
The middle of the field has really hurt Philly.
Ertz, I think, had 11 catches in the conference championship game.
They have been suspect defending tight ends.
Enter Travis Kelsey, maybe Noah Gray.
What do you see happening for Kelsey there?
A lot of people betting him to win the MVP.
Yeah, for the most part, though, in all honesty,
the Eagles have done well versus tight ends.
I think I think Ertz, I don't want to say they wanted Ertz to catch that many balls,
but I think they'll play this totally differently.
You know, Kelsey's a fascinating player in the Super Bowl,
because the last two years, his numbers have really gone way down in terms of yards per catch,
in terms of catches that went for first downs.
You know, so it's hard to say he won't be a factor because it's Travis Kelsey's going
to be a first ballot hall famer. But he has not really been as big a factor in their past game
as in previous seasons, you know, going back three, four years. And the Chiefs past game,
J. Mack, it's really become very scheme-based, more so than individual-based. So again,
these are the kinds of things that are so hard to predict and speculate because, hey, no one would
be surprised if Kelsey goes nine for 125, but that really hasn't happened very much this year.
so it's hard to say that that's going to be the case.
Be sure to catch live editions of the herd weekdays in noon Eastern 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports

I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it
one of the early names of our band
before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing,
a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say,
Hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad
Hey Jonas and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.

Hey, I'm Jared Adano. You might know me as that loud guy who yells out, help on the internet.
Help! Somebody! Please! But there's so much more to me than me. I'm an actor. I'm a comedian,
and recently, I've become quite the helper myself. And on my new podcast,
I was ho from a hypocrite, I'll be changing lives,

One ring is too scary.
Oh, cream of chicken suit.
Hey, cream.
Cream a chicken suit.
This is Help from a Hypocrite, the worst advice from the dumbest people you know.
Listen to Help from Hypocrat as part of the Mike Coutura Podcast Network
available on the IHart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
That's a good point.
So where do you attack this Eagles defense?
I know they have the two rookies in the secondary, maybe that's it,
on the outside with running backs out of the backfield.
I don't know.
This is a really, really strong defense that Fangio has.
Yeah, I think it's.
As I mentioned, the past game has been very scheme-based for the Chiefs.
I think that's how they're going to do it.
I think they'll do it with formations, personnel motions.
They'll do stacks.
They'll do bunches.
They'll try to create just the slightest bit of hesitation and confusion and coverage concepts
because the way you play bunches and stacks, you have to communicate.
I think they'll try to do that.
I think they'll try to make the linebackers be beat slow due to eye discipline,
motions, things of that nature.
you know, what's really been interesting is the Chiefs have not really been a vertical passing team this year,
which when you think about Mahomes and how well he throws it is really crazy.
In fact, he's not been very good throwing the ball 20-plus yards in the air from the line of scrimmage.
He's had the worst completion percentage in the NFL at 26%, which is very surprising.
That's not the way they've played offense this year.
It's been very much situation scheme-based.
We saw that against Buffalo.
down. They expected man. They ran mesh. They ran pick plays. That's what their offense has been.
So I think, look, every game is situation-based, but the Chiefs have really become that kind
of team on offense. Wow, that's a crazy stat on Mahomes. Let's go to Jalen Hertz, his counterpart.
He had a rough start to the season. They decided to rein him in. He ended up making a joke about
being unleashed late in the season. I don't know. Where do you think he stands heading into this
matchup? What does a tape say in the postseason for Hertz?
Yeah, I mean, I think when you watch the tape of Jalen Hertz, I think that they understand what his strengths are and what, you know, his limitations are.
And by the way, most quarterbacks have that.
That's not a knock on Jalen Hertz.
You could say that we could go through some of the top quarterbacks in the league and you could say the same thing.
He doesn't throw the ball great in the middle of the field.
He's not comfortable.
I mean, in the NFC championship game, he did not make one throw between the numbers, not one attempt.
That's not his strength.
I think what they do really well is their offense is so layered with different options on every play.
You've got the Barclay element, you've got the Zone Read element, you've got different screen elements.
So you've got a past game that works off all of that.
And say what you want about Jalen Hertz.
This cannot be overstated, J-MAC.
He does not turn the ball over.
And with the defense that they have, that's critical.
I know many fans probably get upset when he runs out of the pocket to his right and throws the ball
away. And you know what? That's better than trying to force a ball at throwing interception. If they
punt, the other team has to go 75, 80, 85, 90 yards. That is really hard to do against the Eagles
defense. So to me, Jalen Hertz has a tremendous understanding of the overall team concept and what
he is within that. And he plays the game really smart. And the other thing I think you'll see a lot of,
no huddle. The Eagles are a big, no huddle offense. And that, in their mind, hopefully, will calm
down the Steve Spagnolo's situational pressures.
That's a great point on the Hertz turnover.
So I'm looking at his game log.
He had four picks in the first three weeks.
He's had won the entire rest of the season.
Let me ask specifically on Hertz versus, man, we know.
AJ Brown's a matchup nightmare.
He will eat against McDuffie.
I don't care if is McDuffe, anybody.
And then if it's against his own, Devontas Smith is just great at finding the spots.
What's your best guess is the Chiefs?
What will they do defensively?
Heavy blitz, zone, man, all of it?
Yeah, their blitzing is very situational.
Because they're so good at it, people probably think Spaggs is just a heavy percentage blitzer.
He's not.
It's very situational.
But they will play man.
You know, these two teams played week 11 last year.
This was after the Super Bowl.
Obviously, I'm talking about the 20-23 season.
They had a legerius Sneed at Corner.
He matched up to Brown in that game last year, and he actually ate Brown up.
I think they're going to, I don't know they'll do this, but it wouldn't surprise me if they match Trent McDuffie on Brown.
They do play a lot of.
man. Maybe they'll say, hey, let's stop the run, do the best we can and see if they can beat us
throwing the ball. You know, all this, we're just speculating, but I don't think Spags is going to
do anything dramatically different overall. I think situational, you'll see a few different things
that he hopes the Eagles haven't quite seen and maybe prepared for. But in terms of overall concept
of how he plays defense, I don't think that'll change. That's a good, I forgot about that game.
So the Chiefs were up 17-7 at the half, and the Eagles dominated the second half.
It was a big D'Andre Swift game, and what a memory you have.
A.J. Brown in that game, you must have looked at it.
A.J. Brown, one catch for eight yards.
Oh, my gosh.
Well, that's what we do, Jay Mack.
That's what we do here.
We look at all these games on tape.
Wow.
That's good stuff.
All right, we can wrap up with this.
Your big play of the week, Sequin Barkley's incredible touchdown run against Washington.
Yeah, I wanted to show this play, and we can go to it because it takes a little
a while before we get to the actual breakdown. I wanted to show this play. Obviously, it was the first
offensive play in the NFC championship game. But one of the reasons I wanted to show this play is because
most people think of motion as being a big factor in the past game. That's the way people see the
game. They see motion. Is it our zone man indicator? But it's really important in the run game as well,
and it's so important here. So this was the first place. So what you're going to see is
tight bunch to the wide side of the field. And Saekwon Barclan, Barclay.
is the eye back. You don't see this very often with Jalen Hertz under center, but Barclay is the
eye back, and it's going to be a toss to the wide side of the field. And the concept is a basic one
that everybody runs. It's what we call pin pull. A.J. Brown is going to block down as the pin blocker
on the defensive end, and they're going to pull Dallas Goddard and Jordan Myelotta. As I said,
it's a pin pull concept, very basic concept. They're going to run it to the wide side of the field
where there's a lot of room. Now, watch what you.
what they do. They take Devontas Smith. They're going to motion him across the formation. Why? That
removes a defender from run support to that side of the field, because Marshawn Latimore is going to
run with him across the field. Now, there's one less defender, and the two defenders that are there
that can defend this play are defensive backs. So look what you get. You get Goddard and Maillata
blocking two defensive backs. And by the way, they outweigh them by a few pounds, as you can see,
right here. In fact, the Eagles O-line weighs over 1,700 pounds. It's the biggest O line in all of
football. So now you get Goddard and myelada blocking two defensive backs. Barclays clean off the edge.
We know Jay Mack, no safety can tackle Barclay in the open field. So this is a great example
of motion in the run game, which is such a critical aspect of what the Eagles do. And you're
definitely going to see that in this Super Bowl and see how the Chiefs react to it.
Damn, that's good stuff.
Now, I don't know historically if you make a pick or not, Greg, do you want to make a pick or I don't want to put you on the spot?
No, it's okay.
I've had to do that already, so it's out there.
You know, I'm on record, Jay Mack.
You know, I picked the Eagles.
You know, I think it's going to be a really close, intense game.
I just, there's a part of me that can't get beyond the fact that this Eagles O line is so, so good.
no knock on the Chief D-Line.
It's obviously very good.
But this O-Line has been such a dominant, dominant group all season long.
And, you know, Barclay has the most yards before contact.
Think about that.
As great as Barclay is, and he's great.
But he has the most yards before contact far and away of any back in the league.
Yeah, Greg CoSell, NFL films.
Great stuff.
You heard the pick.
He's on the Eagles.
I'm on the Eagles.
I don't know where Cowherds at, but probably the Chiefs.
Thanks a lot, Greg.
Enjoy the game.
Great stuff this year.
Thanks, Jay Mack. Really appreciate it.
Yeah, that was fun. Greg Cosell.
Just an outstanding breakdown of everything.
I mean, he's good.
And he picked the Eagles, so I'm geeks right now.
I know, I know Chiefs fans, you're fine.
But he's right.
Eagles are better in the trenches, offense and defense.
They're better at wide receiver.
They have a better running back.
The only place that the Chiefs are better is head coach and quarterback.
And I know that kind of sort of matters just a little bit, a little bit.
All right, coming up next.
Hey, Greg, Gerald McCoy, live from New Orleans.
at Radio Row. Yes, live. That's next year on The Herd.

Back here on the herd,
great stuff from Greg Koschel.
A former NFL quarterback was listening
and texted during the show
about the Chief's offensive line,
why they're not throwing the ball down the field.
I got to say the audience for the herd is formidable.
You guys have good stuff
and very much forward looking to the game.
And let's bring in Gerald McCorme,
Boy, former NFL defensive tackle.
He is live from Radio Row in New Orleans.
Gerald, how you doing, my man?
I'm incredible, man.
I mean, I'm taking in Nalans.
And that's what you call it when you hear.
I'm taking in Nalins.
I've been here plenty of times on my playing days.
Obviously, we played the Saints here every year.
But it's different when you're not getting ready for a game
or prepper for a game, well, at least a game you're playing here.
Yeah.
Nice.
I have a great time.
It hasn't gotten too crazy out here yet, but it's Tuesday.
Tomorrow, everything starts to kick off even more.
Yeah, yeah.
It'll start to get fun there very shortly.
Obviously, you spent a long time with the Bucks.
They played at the Saints.
I want to ask you about this Eagles defensive line, man.
They are dominant.
I have a feeling they're going to bully the chiefs in the trenches.
What do you make of this matchup, Eagles defensive line versus the chiefs
makeshift offensive line?
The saving grace of the offensive line is Andy Reed and Patrick.
They have the great equalizers.
They know how to manipulate defenses, and that's what they do best.
But at some point, in a key moment in the game, this offensive line is going to have to hold up.
And that's what the chiefs have done offensively all years be real methodical moving down.
They dink in and nickel and dime you down the field and control the clock.
They're great on third down.
and we've seen at the end of the game
in the AFC championship. It wasn't what
Patrick Mahomes did. It was how Andy Reed drew
it up. And we've seen last year
on that final drive versus 49 is Andy
Reed's ability to draw things up
in the clutch.
He's just the best at that. So
as this game goes on,
if we don't see this Eagles
defensive line start to get after
Patrick Mahon, it won't happen
when the clutch time comes up because at that point
Andy Reed got to figure it out.
So if they want to get on this team,
with Patrick Mahomes, who's been hitting sacked more than he's been in his entire career.
This season, they need to do it early and often.
Because if they don't do it early and often, you had Andy Reeves mercy.
Yeah, that's a great point.
And the Eagles actually led, I believe it was 2414 in the last Super Bowl meeting with the Chiefs,
and ended up blowing it, of course, because Patrick Mahomes, that's what he does.
But this time they have Saquan Berkeley.
And he has been unbelievable this season.
tremendous talent.
And I just wonder, Chiefs' run defense has been leaky, Gerald.
How do you stop this guy if you're Kansas City?
Yeah, it has been extremely leaky.
But at the same token, here's what I know.
Going into the Houston game, there wasn't one player where all week they said this one guy
to beat our team.
It was collective.
They knew who Joe Mixon was, but they also knew who CJ Stroud was, and they knew they
had to work through certain things.
All right?
You go into the Buffalo game.
Josh Allen is the guy.
James Cook is the ex-factor.
He helps.
But Josh Allen is the guy, and we've seen that.
Even though their run-debans was very leaky versus Buffalo,
Buffalo stopped giving the ball to James Cook because Josh Allen is the guy.
I don't know why they did that, but they did.
In this game, Seekwon is the guy.
Philly knows it.
We all know it.
Kansas City knows it.
I play for Joe Coole.
I know what he's telling this defense of line.
He's telling them they believe this one person can beat our entire defense with one guy,
and they're going to take it personal.
So what do they need to do?
You can't get undisciplined.
But the Kansas City Chiefs are not undisciplined because if they were,
they wouldn't have been at this point having an opportunity to three feet.
You got to stay in your gaps, have gap integrity,
because you're facing a guy who can go lateral and vertical, zero to 100, like that.
Make one mistake, and he can go to the crib.
And they're teaching and coaching that.
But they're going to take this person.
I'm telling you, that's what they're going to do up front.
But Philly's going to do what Philly do.
Seyquard will touch this ball 25 to 30 times for sure.
Is your guess that the Chief's offense is the key to this game?
Because I don't know, I just don't say they're not exciting.
They're not explosive.
It could be Hollywood Brown.
It could be Noah Gray.
We don't even know who their weapons are going to be.
I still don't know how the hell they beat the bills, you know.
But this is not like an explosive, scary Kansas City team.
They're just methodical and they have the best quarterback on the planet.
So here's the thing with being scary.
Scary doesn't mean better.
The Philadelphia Eagles are scary.
They're top to bottom the better team.
I don't care how you feel as a Kansas City chief.
If you're being honest with yourself, you're going to say top to bottom,
talent for talent, number for number.
The Philadelphia Eagles are the better team.
The names and the resumes don't reflect the numbers for the Kansas City Chiefs.
It reflects the record.
There's no Kansas City Chief with all of these top names that's up for a postseason award.
You go look at the numbers.
I could give you four different numbers, stats, and don't put a team attached to it.
The average numbers, you're not going to say that's the Kansas City Chiefs.
But if I showed you records, you're going to pick the one with the best record
and say that's the Kansas City Chiefs
because there's no
substitution for experience.
Tom Brady talked about it.
You have to be great in the clutch.
It's technique time.
You got to know how to win.
You know how I know that that stands true?
Because Tom Brady went to Tampa
in a year of COVID,
and he won a Super Bowl.
And since he left,
the Bucks haven't missed the playoffs
because he established a culture of winning.
There's a way to win.
And Kansas City knows how to win games.
It's not about the best team or who has the most speed.
It's the experience.
And these guys have the experience.
They've been here before and they know how to win games.
Yeah.
Since you play defensive tackle, we talked a lot about Jalen Carter.
Recently, he's been utterly dominant.
But people forget about Chris Jones, who's a pretty damn good defensive player.
And for some reason, in crunch time, he always appears to show up and make a great play.
Whether it's lining up outside or inside, tell us about Chris Jones a little bit.
How he could factor in here against the best offensive line in the league.
Chris Jones is the only player in all of football to have 25 pressures inside and outside.
Chris Jones is going to the Hall of Fame and it's going to say defensive tackle next to his names.
The most impactful plays he's made in his career in the playoffs have been a defense event.
And last game in the AMC championship, as great as he's been, I can argue that,
that was the best game I've ever seen him play.
I'll tell you why.
What he did to that office of line was demoralizing.
It's not going to show up on the stat sheet,
but he's taking grown men from left tackle all the way to right tackle,
tackle, tackle, center guard, tackle,
and he's taking them on any given play,
regardless of the result and putting them three and four yards in the back field.
That's what he does.
He impacts the game without having a stat.
And when you're doing that, it makes the offense say, dang, we should stop giving the ball to James Cook.
It makes the office say, we have to speed up our operation.
It changes everything.
It makes your offensive line think for it.
It makes your running back have to cut sooner than he wants to.
It makes your quarterback start seeing ghosts.
Just because this guy at any given moment is taking your defenders, who's supposed to be defending your quarterback,
and he's taking grown in and saying, you're going to do what I say,
on display. And that's the moralizer to any offense, but that's what Chris Jones brings to the team.
Well, listen, I know you like him. You were a defensive tackle. He ain't doing that to Jordan
Milata or Lane Johnson. You know that. That's the best tackle duo in the league, right? Would you
agree? I don't. I don't know that. No, I don't know that. And he, Chris Jones is so elite
of a player. We see him by Milata give up sex.
against the Rams, didn't we?
So it's not like that.
Yeah, verse had a disingen.
And we're talking about Lane Johnson.
We're talking about Lane Johnson.
I'm not going to say anything bad about
Lane Johnson. He's a sooner.
So Lane Johnson can do whatever he wants.
He's an Oklahoma sooner.
The best right tackle of all of football.
I love you, Lane.
I would never say anything bad about you.
But everybody else got to deal with Chris Jones.
And Chris Jones has been here over and over and over again.
So if he's done this over and over and over again,
I'm playing statistics that he'll do it again.
Well, you just gave Jordan Milata some bulletin board material.
Hopefully some Eagles fans will clip that off.
He didn't get pushed around by Chris Jones.
Write it down.
Write it down.
Stamp it, do all of it, man.
Chris Jones is Chris Toe.
All right, let's go to.
And I'm a defensive guy.
I'm going for the defense.
Obviously, obviously.
Let's quickly go to Miles Garrett.
He requested a trade this week.
Listen, he's 29.
I'm sure he still got a couple good years left,
but there's a lot of tread on those tires.
He's had some injuries mouth.
He played injured all season.
The guy's a warrior.
What's your best guest?
Do the Brown say, hey, he wants out, we've got to trade him?
Or do you think they're just, we're not trading you?
What's your guess?
If I had the guess, I think they give him what he wants,
and I'll tell you why.
This guy has been loyal to a fault.
All to the, I mean, when I left Tampa,
But we parted away.
The first place I went to visit was the Cleveland Brown.
And they asked him.
At this point, they didn't have no all-pro defensive tackle or nothing on the team.
They had Larry Ogden Jobi, who was the three technique, and I love Larry.
Larry's a great player.
But you have an all-pro that's willing to come sign with your team,
and they asked them, how would you love to have Joe McCoy, partner with you,
and y'all be a tandem?
His response was, we good with what we got.
because he's that type of person
when it comes to who he's with
and the team he's on.
Extremely loyal.
The only time you've seen Miles Garrett
making about him was this year
and it was targeted at TJ White.
He said, I'm the guy.
I just want you to know that around his parts
when we talk defense, I'm the guy.
But that's still in representation of his team.
When everything this team has been through,
he's never made it about him.
He's always been loyal to his team.
So when a guy has been doing that,
One defense's a player of the year.
When that says he was a player of the year, which team he was on is going to have your name.
He's a finalist again this year.
A guy like that, he's given what he won't, man.
He's earned that right.
He's a legacy guy, and he's earned the right for you to say, you know what?
You gave us everything you had.
We have no quarrels with what you got.
We'll do what you want.
Yeah, I would hope you're right.
You want to get a final pick in for the Super Bowl, Gerald?
You got a pick yet?
Yeah, I'm going right now.
without breaking everything down, blindly picking the Kansas City Chiefs,
28 Philadelphia Eagles 21.
Okay.
So not liking field.
28, 21, Kansas City Chiefs.
Oh, boy, three-peat, says Gerald McCoy.
Good job, Gerald.
Congrats on a great career.
And enjoy Radio Road.
Maybe I'll see you down there.
All right, thanks, brother.
All right.
Gerald McCoy, former defensive tackle standout.
I see in the notes here six-time Pro Bowl.
He a beast.
I do disagree with him on Chris Jones, Jordan Milata, but that's fine.
We can have disagreements.
That's life.
And I totally disagree with his pick, and I will be probably betting the under on field goals.
So I'm with him.
Total field goals in the game under.
I haven't seen the line yet, but I'll dig in a props while I'm on the flight tomorrow.
All right, we can wrap up the show with this.
Luca Donchich met with the media this morning out here in L.A.,
Rob Polinka.
Very dapper Rob Polinka.
I didn't get a chance to Google this.
I think he was on the Fab Five.
I'm pretty sure he was.
Maybe one of the producers can yell at me that I'm wrong.
He was on the FAPA.
Yeah, thank you.
I remember, I'm just telling you guys, I love the FAB five.
Young Jason wearing the baggy pants down beyond my knees, yes.
This was when I thought I was going to the NBA.
And then you go try out for freshman year basketball,
and you don't even make the final cuts.
And you're like, oh, I'm not going to be an NBA player.
So Rob Polink was on the FAB five.
He was very dapper in the Lubea.
Press Conference. Here's what Rob Palinca said about the impact on Luca joining the Lakers.
Luca Donchich joining forces with the Los Angeles Lakers is a seismic event in NBA history.
And the reason I say that is because we have a 25-year-old global superstar that's going to get on the stage of the most popular and
influential basketball brand on the globe.
And I think when those two powerful forces come together,
it brings basketball joy to the world.
I just had to call up the Lakers schedule.
So tonight they are against the paper clips
at 7 o'clock out here in the West Coast.
And then Thursday against the Warriors.
I'm going to go ahead and guess Lucas not ready to play anytime soon.
My guest would be post-all.
Star Break, let him get acclimated to L.A. Not going to lie, I don't live that far from the
Lakers facility. I would love it if Luca kind of moved into the neighborhood. That would be a lot
of fun. As you can tell, like, I'm going to be ordering the Luca 77 jersey. I'm a fan. What can
I say? What's not to love about this guy? He likes to eat. He likes to drink. He likes to play
basketball. I mean, come on. This is a guy you want to hang with. You know, I guess I got to
brush up on my international foreign language. But, um, you know, I'm not. I'm not. I'm a lot. I'm
I can work on that this summer.
Folks, it's been fun filling in for Colin.
We are in New Orleans, Thursday and Friday.
He will be healthy and back on the mic.
