All right, let's waste no time and jump right into it. our next guest, we're buddies. And he used to be out here in L.A.

We would jump on his podcast together and just spar for an hour over the NBA. I would beat him up a lot. I felt bad. Chris Broussard, star of First Things First. I think he's a retired Hooper now. Chris, how you doing, my man? I'm great, man. I have pretty much retired.

Not officially, but I played like once in the last five years. Oh, my gosh. So, yeah, I think I'm done. I think I'm done. Listen, a lot happening in the association. Let's just dive right in last night to Rick Mahorn. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Dremont Green, who is doing swinging punches to, for some reason, he keeps picking on these European dudes.

He stomped on Subonis, right? He choked out Rudy Gobert, and now here he is swinging on NERC and just clobring him. I mean, Chris, I don't even know where to go. I'm thinking 10-game suspension. What are your thoughts on what the hell's going on with Draymond Green? Yeah, and I've been a guy. I haven't defended him, but I think I've been a little more lenient with him than others, at least in my opinion. Like when he got the go-bearer, when he was choking him, I thought two or three games would have been fine.

Obviously, the league gave him five. So I'm not a guy that's, you know, been anti-Dremont over the years, but this was ridiculous. This was completely out of line. He essentially threw a punch at Yerker. Nerkich. I mean, that's essentially what he did. I know he didn't have a closed fist. It wasn't a slap either. I would say it was darn near like a karate chop and it clearly was on purpose. He didn't mean, I don't even buy his explanation. He swung at Nerkich, period, the end. And you said 10 games, I think that should be a minimum. I wouldn't be mad at 15 games. I think he needs to be, a message needs to be sent. And look, he may be beyond receiving a message, right? Like, getting suspended for a game in the finals that probably caused him a championship wasn't enough for him. Getting the five games from the Gobert choke didn't teach him a lesson.

So he may be unteachable or reachable at this point, but you have to lay down a just punishment and you have to protect your other players. Like, who's he going to do next? You like you said, he stomped those a bonus his chest, and next time he might really hurt somebody. And so, yeah, I think 10 games minimum, I wouldn't have a problem with 15. And they also probably should send him to some anger management. I don't know if this anger management. I like Draymond, but this is out of control.

He doesn't seem to be able to control his actions on the court, and that's a problem. Yeah, reckless, repeat offender, everything you said, I just wonder, Chris, is there any way we can drill down and take a guess at what's going on. Obviously he's unhappy. The team stinks. He got a big fat contract and he clearly didn't deserve it. This is a guy who sucker punched Jordan Poole. He's watching his buddy Clay kind of rot on

the bench. Clay's done in Golden State. We know that. Is there any justification from his end? Like I'm trying to fire up our team. Does anything, if he were to sell you on it, does anything make sense here? No. Now he may be, and I don't even, I have no idea what's going on in his

personal life. If there is an issue there that's bothering him, anyone would listen to that, but you still, we all have to be professionals. All right? People all over the country are going through different issues in their personal lives, but when you show up at work, you have to be professional. And so there's no excuse, period. It just isn't. And if you're talking about, you mentioned Clay. You mentioned a team struggling. Even if he were upset with the way the team's playing, you're not helping. You're not. helping them by getting suspended. Part of their struggles have been that he's not there.

And I don't look, I don't think they're a championship team. That's no revelation even with him. But they're certainly better with him. Draymond, to me, is a Hall of Famer. And this doesn't change that for me. But I do think he needs to be punished. Okay, let's go to Steph Curry. There was a moment late in the game where he went over to the son's bench.

Durant in street clothes kind of covered his mouth and said something. Curry looked at him. I don't know, Chris, I don't want to go overboard here, but the dynasty is done in Golden State, okay? Have we reached the point where Steph Curry has to think about his future with the Warriors? So if we assume Clay's gone, we know Steph Curry's from Charlotte. I'm sure he loves the Bay Area.

I just wonder, what is the big next move for the Warriors? We're talking three ejections in 15 games this season for Draymond. Like, I think he's done. I mean, he's not a first-team all-defense guy, but does Curry say, you know what? Bob Myers is gone, Wiggins is shot, Clay's done, why don't you guys just move on from me, let me go somewhere else and try to win? Is that too much of an incendiary take?

It depends on what Steph wants. I mean, he may be one of those guys that wants to play his entire career in Golden State. Obviously, to say he's a legend is an understatement there. So, yeah, I mean, if he wants to play out his career with Golden State, I think everyone would be fine with that. Like you said, they're not going to win any more championships. without some huge move that you can't even really foresee coming. But on the other hand, if he does want to win more championships,

if he says, you know what, I want to be viewed as greater than Magic Johnson as the greatest point guard ever and win another championship. I want to win more championships than LeBron. And I will go wherever I have to go to do it. And he wants out, then I think people would understand that too. I think a lot of people would love to see him retire in the blue and gold. But if he wants out, I'm not going to be mad at him. I kind of feel like Steph will just play it out in Golden State.

Or if they just start breaking it down around him and going young, then, of course, he could be moved. But if he's moved, it has to be somewhere where he has a chance to win a championship. I would love to see that because, as you said, in this situation, I don't think it's going to happen. So it really is up to what Steph Curry wants individually, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's content to just stay in the Bay Area. All right, we're contractually obligated, Chris, to talk about LeBron and the Lakers here on the show. We have to do it every single show. LeBron wins the in-season tournament.

It's another thing that he did that Michael Jordan could never do. Jordan never won an in-season tournament. And this is great for LeBron, obviously, and his legacy. Big picture. Where are you on Lakers this season? Let's not go overboard. They're only 14 and 10. half a game up on the paper clips who we'll talk about next.

Well, look, the whole West at the top of the West is very jumbled. And the Lakers are among those contending teams. Most people have Denver at the top. But obviously, they're having some struggles. And, you know, it happens when you want a championship, the next year getting through the regular season can be challenging because you know you're playing for May and June. So Denver is a team that most people have at the top of the West.

But after that, it is a jumble. And the question is, are Oklahoma City and Minnesota for real? That's the question, because those are the two tight teams at the top of the West record-wise, and they're young. And so come playoff time, are those teams going to be legitimate threats? That's really the question, because after that, then you've just got the cast of usual suspects. You got Phoenix, you got the Clippers, as you mentioned. You've got the Lakers.

You've got the Kings now who you might want to throw in the group with OKC and Minnesota. But the Lakers are one of those teams. And LeBron James looks fantastic. I'm not going to go as far as to what he was in his prime, but I will say this. He looks better than he looked last year to me. And maybe even the past few years with the Lakers, you hope he stays healthy. But I think his jump shot is improved. His three-point shot obviously is improved, but I mean the mid-range as well.

He looks smoother shooting the J. He's going to the basket. He's playing smart. He realizes, look, you get in the paint, nobody can stop LeBron in there. The floor is spread. You got one, maybe two defenders when you get to the lane, and he's big enough and strong enough to finish in there. So he's scoring, it looks like, fairly easily, and AD is AD.

So the Lakers are right there. I wouldn't call them the favorite by any stretch in the West. But yes, they are a legitimate contender out there in the Western Conference. All right, let's pivot to the inferior L.A. team, the paper clips, who are the hottest team in the league? Five straight wins. I mean, listen, Calhurt was out here banging on him. It's never going to work. James Hardin.

It's just not happening. They're starting to figure it out. These things take time. Clippers kind of sort of dangerous in the West, Chris. Are you with me? Well, again, one of those teams. necessarily picked them again. They wouldn't be the favorite either, but a few things have happened. You said they won five straight and they've been some good teams. Denver, Golden

State, Sacramento. Kawhi Leonard is starting to round in the form. He wasn't playing as well earlier in the season as we've come to expect from Kawhi. I don't know if this will continue, but the last three games he's averaging like 35 points. He's shooting an incredibly high percentage. So we'll see if this continues with him. And the other thing, the key move a few weeks ago, and I got to give him credit, and I think you,

I don't think you like this guy. But Russell Westbrook, his decision or willingness, some people think Ty Lou went to him and Russ just said it was his idea, whatever the case. His willingness to go to the bench. And he's playing

less than 20 minutes a game. All right, it's not like he's playing coming off the bench playing 30 minutes. He's playing about 19 minutes a game. His willingness to come off the bench and say, look, I want to win. And the best thing for this team, the win is for me to come off the bench. I can't say enough about his selflessness in this situation. And Russ has something that the clippers need.

Energy. Energy is a skill and a talent, all right? And he brings that to this team because Hardin, Kauai, and Paul George are low-energy stars. And so Russ bringing that energy and that hustle is big for them. And then Hardin, look, Hardin is a great point guard. I have often said of James Hardin, he is one of the few players in history who has been an all-time elite score and an all-time elite point guard or playmaker.

When he runs the point, like he did in Brooklyn, with Kyrie and Durant when he was healthy, and now he's doing it with Paul, George, and Kauai. They're good. I mean, they're dangerous. Again, I wouldn't pick them as the favorite out there, but they are a dangerous team, and they've got depth beyond those four stars. So they're good.

All right, one quick last one. The Spurs have lost 17 games in a row. The Wembenyama excitement was over in like two weeks. I mean, is Popovich getting a pass here? What's going to? 17 losses. I know the Pistons are 20, but come on, this is unacceptable. It is.

And first of all, let me say this about Victor Wimbunyama. He's going to be everything people have said. People expect it. Like, the dude is awesome. And I've said this from almost the jump watching this team play with him. they don't look for him they don't feature him the players don't look for him

any more than they look for any other random spur and they're not running offense through him and that is a problem Popovich look I don't know if it's like he's not doing a good job I'll tell you that it's kind of like watching Belichick

in New England I've always compared those two franchises and coaches but he's not doing a good job whether he can't make the other players run through Wimbayama or he's just unwilling to. And again, I don't think their offense should run through him completely. He's too young for that. But there are times when they need to look for him,

when he's open and they don't give him the ball, when they just look him off and things like that. It's ridiculous. And what Pop does need to tell these guys is, look, because this is the problem when you have a team full of youngsters, is they all want to show that they're good individually, so they can get the best contract out of their rookie scale. That's the problem.

And what Pop needs to tell them is, look, your future here in San Antonio is tied to him. How well you play with him. All right? And I've also seen guys in San Antonio, look, he's 7-4. He's always going to be open in the post, right? I've seen guys try to throw bounce passes to him and get it stolen when he's on the post. Just throw the ball in, make a real. regular post entry pass, no one can get it but him.

So I am not down on Wimby at all, but I am down on the rest of the Spurs and the way there, I don't know if they have an attitude issue and they don't like all the love and publicity he's getting, or if they just want to try to shine individually themselves, or if Popovich needs to do a better job, because there's no, nobody expected them to make the playoffs, or at least I didn't. But I also didn't expect, and no one expected 17 straight L's, and that's not what should be going on there. I do like last game he played against Houston. He was incredibly aggressive when Banyama.

He was ferocious, and this kid is going to be dominant. He already is somewhat dominant, but he's going to be tremendous in the future. All right, great stuff. Chris Bussar, catch him on first things first right after this show. Chris, enjoy it. Pick up a basketball, my guy. Will you? Come on.

No, no, no, no. Turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Well, J-Mack, let's start in Vegas because Devonte Adams has aired his fair share of frustrations during his second season with the Raiders. Now, despite the positivity behind Antonio Pierce following the first, firing of Josh McDaniels, Vegas has lost three straight, including a brutal three-nothing lost to the Vikings. Here's Devante on the loss.

I mean, it's embarrassing, too, not that that's the main thing that drives it, but it's, you know, you walk off that field and, you know, you got a lot of fans that came to, you don't pay their money to come and see you play, and you go up and put up a goose egg. And, I mean, it almost looks worse that they only score three, too. You know, sometimes you've seen plenty of teams win 22, zero, whatever, but when the other team, wins by three and they only scored three, it just looks horrible. So hopefully we don't make any more history like that on this side. I mean, it's hard to wrap your head around that score when you saw it. You're like, is that a soccer score? Like what's going on?

And right now, I mean, they have no starting quarterback for the future. Do you think Devante should do everything in his power to try to get out of Vegas? Oh, he's done. Yeah, I think this off-season, I mean, was it Houston? Is it Carolina? I don't know if he could be talked into Carolina. But anybody with a rookie quarterback should be going after him. Yeah.

Anybody. Yeah. He needs to be done. It's good to the NBA. Okay. Where the Bulls have announced that they will be creating a ring of honor with the inaugural class being headlined by Michael Jordan, Scotty Pippen, and Phil Jackson on January 12th. Now, everyone has the invites, but it'll be interesting if both MJ and Scotty show up and how

they'll handle the reunion. And if they do, this will be the best sports reality TV show of all time. you get Michael Jordan and Scotty Pippen potentially in the same room next month. Now, as you know, Michael's son and Scotty's ex-wife are in the process of planning a wedding. They have a wedding in the works. They're not just date. They're engaged. Rumors, they got weddings in the works. And I was listening to Charles Barkley this morning on the Dan Patrick show.

And this was the first he heard that they were possibly both going to be there at the same time. He's, Barclay goes, I'm going to be there, just sitting in the crowd with some popcorn, fly on the wall watching how this reunion goes down. That's going to be awkward. Could you imagine, though? Yeah, I mean, oh, Roy. Could you imagine? I do not want to imagine anything like that. That's rough.

Scotty Pippen, Michael Jordan, Phillips. Where was Horace Grant? He didn't get the invite? No, Tony Cooch. First, this is the first ring of honor. It feels like they're copying the Cowboys, right? Don't they have the Ring of Honor? They have the Ring of Honor.

but also like they probably just need a bright sight in their season. The balls. Yeah. You know, it's a tough. Although Zach Levine got hurt and now they're better. Yeah, but this is also like the, why now? What took you so long? Yeah.

Have like a little Hall of Fame. Well, LeBron Wednesday inaugural in season tournament. Michael Jordan, we need a ring of honor. Got to back it up. All right. Well, let's move to Major League Baseball where Shohei Otani is set for his intro presser with the Dodgers tomorrow after he signed a record-breaking 10-year, $700 million deal, which the Giants apparently made an almost identical offer to Shohay,

but he ultimately decided to stay in Southern California. Why? I think because the Giants are not built to win now. Yes, they've won three World Series in the last 14 years, but they are 10 years removed from that. The Dodgers are the perfect fit for Shohay Otani. They are built to win now. They have shown that. They are one of the best regular season teams, and hopefully Shohay Otani can be that missing piece. to help them be that same team in the postseason. Obviously he's not going to be pitching next season. And with all the deferred money that he has, Dodgers can go out and get pitching because

they need an ace, they need a co-aise. There are a lot of pieces they still need to put together. But Otani's a two-time unanimous MVP who has never won a playoff game. Put that into perspective. He's desperate for Ws. Desperate, which is why he came up with this idea of a majority deferred contract. going to make around $2 million a year. You're the baseball expert.

I have no domain expertise over baseball. If you're trying to woo the biggest free agent that the league has seen in some, some time. Yeah. Is the move to just offer something identical that the Dodgers did? Wouldn't you go outside the box and get creative? More. Yeah, and show him, hey, this is how creative we are.

We're doing this, that, and the other. So you know, we own a soccer team. Obviously, I'm a minority owner in Mexico. We're going through the free agent process. We can't just go to them. We're the small market team. We can't just go to free agents and be like, come on down. They're offering this.

We're going to match it. You can't do that. You've got to get creative. Show them that you're willing to think outside the box and do unique things and be like, oh, they're going to build something. I think this is horrible by the Giants, no? I don't think they had as big of a chance because Otani's number one thing is he wants to win now.

He wants to win championships and he wants to win now. Dodgers have been the best team in the NLS for the past decade. just haven't fully been able to continue that into the postseason minus the 2020 World Series win. Otani could be that missing piece. But again, they still need to go out and they still need to get some pitching. And now they can because of all the deferred money that Otani did. And so Otani won't pitch this year, obviously. No, he's going to DH.

He's DH this year and then he should be able to pitch following year. Huh. Yeah. So then you have your co-aise there. If you go out, get an ace now. Bobby Miller is a young arm that was just absolutely. insane for the Dodgers last year. They haven't for sure signed Kirschau yet, but he's on the back end of his career. Obviously they lost

Arias last year for just not being a good person. But they need to go out and get some Marns. They've kind of been linked to Glass now. They have Bueller who's coming back from Tommy John. They've been linked to Josh Hater, Yamamoto. So the Dodgers have the ability to go out and get a big arm. They need to go do that. Have you looked at any tickets to Dodgers games yet? Oh yeah, do you know his debut, Standing Only?

His Dodgers debut, Standing Only, I think, was around like $480. And then a seating in the dugout club was around $10,000. I mean, he's finally going to get the attention he's always deserved to get. The eyeballs, the celebrities, that Hollywood star, he is the biggest star in L.A. right now. And the Dodgers just got an entire country of Japan. that have now become a fan of their franchise, their team. That 700 mil, they're going to make that pack in endorsement deals. All of their advertising, everyone buying now Dodgers Otani jerseys.

Like, this was the best investment that the Dodgers could have made. Smart move. And 10 years, most likely he's going to be breaking all of his records going into the Hall of Fame as a Dodger. Buffaloville's offensive tackle, Dion Dawkins, just outstanding season. He's having one sack allowed in 56-blocking snaps this season. Dion, how you doing, man? What up, man? It's crazy because when I see her face now, man, all I think is,

is J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets, right? That's all I see, man. It sucks. Yeah, we got your number in the first game of the season. We, I mean, like I'm part of the team or something. A phenomenal game. Listen, Buffalo, you guys have had a tough season, up and down, little rocky stuff, but an incredible win last week in Kansas City.

Dion, is it safe to say you saved your season with the win last week in K.C.? If that's how you want to put it, I mean, put it there. But like we understand that in a game, in a sport, there's winners and losers. And we just wanted to come out of there with the win and not a loss. But hey, if you want to say that we saved our season. Okay. He is in a facility where they lost the connection, I guess. Listen, Dionne Dawkins is a great guy, and it was nice of him to make an attempt.

We'll try to get him back here in a second. You know, listen, the biggest game of the season, I'm sorry, biggest game of the week is Buffalo. against Dallas. And I was eager to talk to Dionne about matching up with Micah Parsons, the great Dallas Cowboys pass rusher. Dawkins, like I said, one sack allowed all-season pass-blocking, highest-graded offensive linemen for the bills this season. The bills only have allowed 18 sacks this season. All right, we got Dionne Dawkins back. Yes, there he is. All right, Dion. Glad to have you back. I was just going to ask about this week's matchup with the Cowboys

and Micah Parsons. You may have matched up with him in a Pro Bowl, but what are you seeing on tape on Michael Parsons, one of the best pass rushers in the league? Elite, you know, he does what he does week in and week out. He's one of those guys that you have to understand where he is on the football field

and understand that he can wreck a game at any point of time. So we have to come out there and get our hands on 11 and respect his game, obviously, but, you know, It's a killer B-Kill world. So I know that he's coming to play his best ball,

and he should know that we're coming to play our best ball with, we live with our back against the wall. So we plan on seeing his best, and he for sure knows that he is going to get our best. I know some people will say that, like, Draymond Green had a podcast, and he was talking about stuff about the NBA on his podcast during the playoffs. And there was some chatter that he's giving away some stuff on his pod.

Do you have to now listen to Micah Parsons' pod to see if there's any strategy that can be gained anything you can get from this Dallas defense? Which, man, listen, they've been pretty lights out all season, and you guys could have some trouble with them. Yeah, of course. Well, to answer your first question, absolutely. I'm listening to every last thing that is being said because you never know what jam might pop up. So definitely listening to his interviews, his media, how he talks about us. But any little bit of edge that we can get, why not take it?

Like we're playing in a game. It's not cheating. It's preparing. And we're preparing to get a victory. So anything to put more plusses in our basket than minuses. You know, I'm off for it. Yeah. Listen, the Buffalo Bills have been Super Bowl contenders the last few years.

And, you know, you guys, 500 this year kind of sort of sputtering it for much of it. I got to ask. how much of a break do you catch having a face backup quarterbacks after this with Easton Stick and Bailey Zappy before the season finale with the Dolphins, which could be, could be for a playoff spot? Man, I hate to let you down, but I haven't even looked that far ahead yet. Like we have a big week, just like every week, and we need to put all of our energy on these cowboys for us to have a chance to win.

And we understand that there's a couple of games left, but the biggest one is now, man. I don't even know what's after in this game and what's after that. Like, I think it's the Chargers or something. But, like, right now we're cowboys full throttle, and we need it because they got guys like Michael Parsons. And to respect the game and to respect this game fully, we have to put all of that mental on the Cowboys and who our opponents are. I'll wrap up with this, Dion. Michigan went through something with their coach, Jim Harbaugh, with the suspension, and it was like, it's us against the world. You guys have had a tough season, a lot of chatter in the media, whether you're your coach, your quarterback, a lot of outside criticism.

Is there a mentality right now? Listen, it's us against the world. It's not Josh Allen against everybody. It's us. This locker room, we've got a team, we've had a great run. You guys have a veteran squad that's been through some postseason battles. Is that the mindset right now in the locker room? Well, no. The mindset isn't really us against the world. It's really us against ourselves. We've had games where we might have did things that beat ourselves. And in this league, it's hard to win an opponent or beat an opponent in a one-on-one battle. So why play a game when we're playing against ourselves and the opponent? So I would more so put the death.

definition is it's us against us and then it'll be us against the world then it'll be us against the universe but right now it's us against us i like that dion dawkins pro bowl left tackle for the buffalo bills good luck this weekend i mean you don't need to know this but i already bet buffalo against the cowboys i think you guys are in a great spot good luck in the game and dion we'll talk to you uh maybe next season when you face the jets yeah right j t s not not not man All close snow.
