I just learned something about James Jones. So in our company, James is the most well-built guy. You and Greg Jennings, but you're bigger than Greg. Appreciate it. And I said, so Jay Mack goes during the break, James Jones, Super Bowl champ, former Packer wide receiver, Fox Broadcaster, and Jay Max, like, you must eat great. And you said, I said in the bed last night I ate two bagels, right? And midnight, I'm just two bagels watching some old basketball.

You're a bad eater. I'm a bad eater. And I used to always tell our trainers in Green Bay, they used to be like, you got to eat this. Drink this shake after practice. Eat this before you take off on the plane and all that. And I'm like, the dudes is doing that guy. Pulled handshstrings, they hurt. I'm like, I'm going to eat this twicks and this snickers because if a 300-pounder

land on me the right way, I'm hurt. ACL gone, ankle gone. I'm hurt. A banana is not going to save me from the 300-pounder falling on me. So I'm a pass on the banana and I'm going to grab me some of these bags of chips. of something. Genetics, been good to you.

I've been good. That's great. So, I got to own this. I don't think Jordan Loving the Packers, they're too young to go on the road

and beat a Dallas. But I will admit, I didn't like him in October at all. But he wasn't playing with this confidence in October. I don't know what flipped.

He plays now like he feels like he's Mahomes. Like, If you, I, we both watched in October, the play calling was cautious. He was caught. What happened? And I think that's exactly what happened because I came on this show and I told you, he got to stop, LaFleur got to stop being playing Jane.

He has to let this quarterback know. If you're trying to figure out if this is the quarterback of the future for the Green Bay Packers early in the year, he was playing Jane, he was cautious. He was trying to help him, save him, whatever it may be, whatever you want to call it. And he wasn't calling the game the right way. Jordan Love is a really good football player, sees the game extremely well, a really good arm. Like he can play the game at a high level.

And that confidence is coming because Coach LaFlor said, you know what, young fella, ball is in your hand. You're running back room being up and down hurt. You know, receiver room been up and down hurt. But the ball is in your hand. And the way he has been calling the game, the last two games. I mean, the Detroit game, he came out with a big shot play. You know, last week he came out with a shot play.

And then this week against the Minnesota Vikings, he comes out with another shot play. So that lets me know that he's extremely confident in Jordan Love, but Jordan Love has earned that the way he has played football and the way he has throwing this football. And it's fun to watch right now. The Packers, to me, got their quarterback of the future for a while. Jordan Love is going to be that guy under center. How many franchises in the history of the league have gone far Rogers and a third? And San Francisco's had a lot of good quarterbacks.

I don't think they've done three in a row. But they did Montana Young. And then I don't know who's after. I forget. But that's hard. Now, the Cowboys went Staubach. Were Danny White somewhere in there? And then.

Danny White. Then there was a couple of misses. And Troy. When was Troy, it was Stoback, Danny White, couple misses, Troy. And then a miss maybe, and then Romo. Romo did and Dak. But Cowboys done pretty good with it. That ain't.

I'm sure I've filled in the gaps. But I mean, the Niners since I was a kid, they had John Brody when I was a kid. And then they had, you know, Montana. Yeah, Montana Young. Montana Young. Then eventually Alex Smith came around. Kaepernick for a while was pretty good.

They played well. Jeff Garcia was pretty good. Jeff was there, San Jose State stand-ups. By the way, Miami, Marino to Tua is a lot of lean years. Yes, it is. It is hard to find. So let me ask you about this.

We talk about the rest versus rust. So I would rest Christian McCaffrey for two weeks. Yeah. Running backs are different. They just get old. No doubt. But I'm not a huge fan of two weeks rest. Me neither.

Me neither. Go back to your career. I absolutely hate it. And to me, if you're not a true veteran, like McCaffrey's a true veteran, he knows how to prepare himself. He knows how to get ready to play. Brock Purdy, he's not a true veteran in the national football league. So for me, watching the way he played against the Baltimore Ravens, then you bounce back, you have a good game against the commanders.

But I don't want him sitting for two weeks. In this football game, I would love to see him get 10. 10, 15 plays a series, jump out there and play. So now you got a decent week off and you're going to get ready for whoever you play. I've never been a fan of sitting out two weeks, especially when you're playing good football. He just came off of playing a solid football game. Now you're not going to step on the football field for another two weeks. I absolutely hate it.

To be honest with you, Mike McCarthy had a rule in Green Bay to where if you weren't two years plus, if you didn't practice, you're not going to play, you know, because you have not shown me that you cannot practice. and go out here and play at a really high level and help our team win. I might dress you just in case somebody gets hurt or something, but if you're a young player and don't show me in practice, you're ready to go, you're not going to play. Charles Woodson, you can sit on the training table, watch film, come out here when a defense player to year.

I know you know you know how to prepare yourself. You know what I mean? Because yeah, that is what Charles Wilson did when he won defensive player the year in Green Bay. I would come in there as a really young player. He's sitting on a training table, they rubbing his foot. He's looking at an iPad and he come out there. calling all Paymanny's plays out, calling all everybody's plays out, picking stuff off, tackling, balling at a high level.

And I said, that's what Coach Mike means. Because as a rookie, I wouldn't do that. I need to be out here practice. So I would love to see him play. I hate taking the two weeks off. Yeah, I mean, Green Bay is a super young team. I want those guys out there. Christian McCaffrey, Trent Williams, been around the block, know what they're doing.

You know, we were talking about McCarthy earlier. He's got the same winning percentage as John Harbaugh. I can argue Harbaugh has had better ownership. He's had no owner and then a semi-meddling owner. He's had Harbaugh's had Lamar, who's the best player, the planet, often on Sundays, and Flacco and his prime was a dude. Yeah, they play the game. So I'm saying, we're lumping McCarthy in with all these guys that get fired Monday if he doesn't win a playoff game.

And my takeaway is if Mike wins a playoff game and Harbaal wins a playoff game and they both lose their second. There's a lot of people that are getting rid of Mike. and I'm like, his winning percentage is an inch below Andy Reid's. With a franchise with no owner and then Jerry Jones. There's got to be something. Why do you think there's so many anti-mic guys? You know, I wish I had the answer for that because I fight for Mike every day, any day, all day. I mean, this show is what, three hours?

It would have to be five, six hours because, you know, I'm going to arrive for Mike. But I'm with you on that. I hear guys talk about the hard balls. I hear guys talk about the Andy Reid. I hear guys talk about the John Fitton's over there, you know, who won one Super Bowl with Drew Breeze. And every single time it comes to Mike McCarthy, it's always something else, but Mike. Like, you get that from everybody. They're winning, but it's not Mike.

But when they're losing this, Mike. You know what is? I'm going to throw this out. So we both would acknowledge the Cowboys are the biggest brand in the world. Manchester United of our fake. Okay. Name the player in the history of the league that is far better than anybody will acknowledge a quarterback. And I'll argue it's Tony Romo.

Who? Tony could spin it. Tony could spin it. Tony was a great player. No, I mean, he was great. Talk about it. Talk about it. So I think he's a better runner and a thrower than Dak.

And Dak's going to be a, right? 100% agree. Okay, so I'm Rono. No. Romo and McCarthy are better than their public image. Why? Because both played for the Cowboys and both had a handful, not a lot, of fourth quarter picks, fourth quarter clock issues.

And when you coach Duke, manage the Yankees. So Romo got beat up for years. And then if you go back and look at Tony Romo's, it's crazy, James. His fourth quarter passer rating, at one point it was. second highest in the history of the sport. That's crazy. If you make that pick for the Jags, nobody sees it. Yep. So my knock on, so what I'm saying, Romo's McCarthy, we just see the meltdowns.

In about once a year, maybe twice, Mike butchers the clock. And about once a year twice, Romo throws a fourth quarter pick. I think that's it. But not only that for me, we're talking about Mike with the Cowboys. Mike came to the Green Bay Packers organization to where they were not good. That's why the coach got fired. Mike comes in there. It's winning season after winning season, after winning season, after winning season.

I deliver a Super Bowl. I have a Mike McCarthy Way, a street named after me in Green Bay. He changed around the program and organization in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and won a Super Bowl and should have went back to another one if we can recover an on-side kick. But with all that being said, that's gone. He gets let go from there. Goes to the Dallas Cowboys, and it's 12. wins it's 12 wins it's 12 wins and i'm in the playoffs i win a playoff game last year like everywhere mike

has gone mike has changed around the organization's crazy even like even when you look at this roster and the way they're playing football the way dac is playing football that is all mike mccarthy that's why he said you know what kelly more you are doing a great job but i know how i want my quarterback to play and dac prescott to play and dac prescott was the runner the leader for mvp voting the way he's playing football and he's still playing football at that a high level. Mike is such a great coach and I understand it's certain situations and all that that people may come to

and say, Andy Reid got crushed about clock management. There's a lot of coaches like that. You know, but for me, it just strikes me to my core because when the Cowboys are doing great, it ain't Mike. So look at this. My staff, thank you to the guys in the back. Tony Romo

has a 102.7 fourth quarter passer rating. Second highest in league history. Higher than Brady. That's crazy. second highest. And when you say Tony Romo fourth quarter, oh my God, he gagged.

Second best quarterback league history fourth quarter. So it's like when you're part of these, like if I have to hear how Aaron Boone doesn't know what he's doing as a Yankees manager, if he's with the Marlins, nobody watches the games. True. And so it's just the reality of taking the big,

the corner office comes with a lot of pressure. No doubt about it. All right, you're on speak today. Let me think here. I'm not going to ask you that. No, I asked you that. One more question. All right, great.

Look out. And he's another one in my book that's just like Mike McCarthy. Wherever he goes, I go to Stanford, never had a 12-win season. Boom.

Four season, here go 12 wins, right? I go to Michigan. three big 10 championships, right? I'm in the national championship. I go to the San Francisco 49ers, eight losing seasons, 11 wins, 11 wins, 11 plus wins, three straight seasons in a row. Everywhere he goes and everywhere he touches it,

the organization, the program is turned around and his players play at a high level. You know, it's funny. Somebody once told me this. Successful people know how hard success is, not only achieving it, but maintaining it. No doubt. A lot of the Harbaugh critical

critics are not successful people. I know three coaches that have been on his staff over the course of the last 20 years, all successful people. They're like he is the most obsessed football person. Manjini's one of them. They're like, they don't do it like anybody else. He's like, it is so repetitive.

Everything about Jim is live in the moment. Every practice feels like a playoff practice, and it bleeds over to the intensity. You know, they have 130 programs, third fewest penalties. They never commit penalties. Well coached. Well coached. Well coached.

And I mean, I know Andrew Luck is good. I know Andrew Luck was dominant in the pros. You win 12 at Stanford? But Justin Herbert will probably be the best quarterback that he's coached. When you just talk about strictly ability, he's got to be the best one that he's coached. And you coming over there with a really good quarterback. We know he's going to have the defense. Good left tackle on an edge.

Yep. Keenan Allen. Yep. Mike Williams coming back. You got the young rookie. It's a lot of weapons over there. So I would love to see Hardball go over there because with my two eyes, everywhere he's been, I see him changing around.

Yeah. Super Bowl champ, former Packer, now at Fox Sports, James Jones. Great stuff, buddy. J-Mack with the news. He's Twix. The whole team was having a power smoothie, and he was eating a Twix before the Super Bowl. Can I get one more question? Yeah.

So I'm a big fan of Debo Samuel. I think he's a top five receiver. Michael Parsons said C.D. Lamb is one. Yeah. He thinks Debo is more of a chess piece. As a receiver, how do you see Debo who lines up everywhere all over the first? Well, top five receiver, I wouldn't put him in the top five receiver conversation. Top five playmaker is Debo and then whoever else you want to put behind it.

But when you talk about receiver, like I truly feel like a complete receiver, I feel like Brandon Ayuk is the most complete receiver over there. But ball and ball and you know, you can. hands and playmaker, however you can get him to ball, Debo Samuel is a monster. And I tell my kids, watch Debo, because at the end of the day, you know what it's about? Results. And every time he touch it, it is a result and it ain't a battle. Well, here's another thing. There are certain players, you'll see this occasionally.

Corners are small. Safeties are smaller than they used to be. When Debo's running downhill, those guys are trying to get angles. Linebackers don't want Debo. Debo is no body fat. I don't know if he's 2.35, but when he's running, it's like Anquan Bolden with more power. No doubt. These corners are 191.

Safety's now are 212. When Debo's running downhill, watch defensive backs. They try to get angles on him. Nobody wants him head on. But even the play, the first touchdown he scored in Philadelphia, the linebacker got him wrapped up. He just slung him off like he wasn't even there. Like Debo, linebackers don't want to tackle them.

Secondary corner safety days definitely don't want Debo. But Playmaker, for me, he's my number one. It's Debo and anybody else behind them, good luck. But receiver-wise, I like Brandon Ayuk as a more complete receiver. Route running releases all that. Coming from a route runner, I totally respect that. All right, let's go with Jim Harbaugh, Colin, to start things. He's got the Natty on Monday.

He could be coaching his final game for Michigan. NCAA is still working through the sign-stealing scandal. and Harbaugh was asked about this potentially affecting his future. If down the road, the NCAA vacates or forfeits some of your wins from this season or past season, how would that play with you or impact you regardless of where you might be at the time? Yeah, as I said, you know, getting ready for this game, one track mine. I mean, I want to live in the world of Rummerville or speculation, but we just don't really have any room to be doing that at this point.

I've found elsewhere. I got no problem with that answer. I'm going to use that from now on. Anytime any blogger asks me thing, I'll say, hey, as my good friend, Jim Harbaugh says, I don't want to live in the world of Rumorville. That's a great quote.

Because Rumorville's Wackadoon land. Anybody can just make anything up. We live in a world of now. You know, it's funny, I don't have a single friend. Maybe one friend that can occasionally. I don't have any, like, conspiracy theorists anywhere in my social circle. They're everywhere.

like the whole world. And so what he's basically saying is this stuff is just rumors. Nobody calls anybody. So before the internet, conspiracy theories were limited to like whoever you talk to. You didn't know what people in Utah or. Did you know this many people in America that literally think like they think? I don't know that we should start going here. I know where you want to go and I've gone here.

I'll go here private. We can talk about it at a bar. I don't want to bang on. Anything else to come up to me and talk conspiracy theory is great. I just don't want to do it on air. Like I didn't do it on my podcast. I'm not going to do it here. No, I know. I don't want to talk about, you know who.

My takeaway, though, is it's way more mainstream. I didn't think this many people, like sometimes you'd go somewhere, you know, and you'd hear somebody say something to you that. No, that's a loony tune. Now, like, successful people all over the country are buying into, like, nonsense. Because it's stuff just, it's like, it flies on the internet. Remember when I ran the blog and I would post photos and then you'd put, like, sometimes, you know, Rob Grancowski dating a celebrity and you'd put, like, an attractive girl that he's dating.

And like, boom, it's huge. It goes everywhere. It gets clicks. Now the conspiracy theories get a ton of clicks. People are like, wait, what now? Who's hanging out with what? And what is this background? And it's all people just get so into it that they can't resist.

But it's like a post-truth society. You can give people data and facts. They still don't believe it. They don't want it. They used to be in America if you said, no, this didn't happen. Here's data. Now people are like, yeah, that's fake. No, it's not fake.

data from. It's crazy town. Who's feeding you that? There's a reason. It's like... So Harbaugh basically said, I'm not in the crazy, wacko rumor guy. I like that he's locked in on Washington and Pennets. Um, Michigan by 10 plus?

No, God, no. Michigan by six. Five. It's close. It's a 2723 feel to me. That's four, but okay. That would be not covering the spread. Next up, Chicago Bears are out of playoff contention, but they can play spoiler against their

friends the Packers on Sunday. Green Bay has a win and in. Justin Fields thinks it's important for Chicago to end the season on a high. It means a lot to, you know, the team, the fans of the city. I think it'd be great, you know. We know that Green Bay is playing for a lot at stake. They're playing for a playoff spot right now. So I just think with, you know, kind of all that on the table, I think, you know, it'd be great, a great feeling that, you know, end the season off with a winning Lambo. I know their friend is going to be loud because it's not much to do. Greenbegs that watch football, but it's going to be a great environment to us for us to play in, and hopefully we have a great game and get the double on Sunday.

You've got to tell Justin Fields about the Dells in Wisconsin. He clearly doesn't know. He said there's nothing to do in Green Bay, but watch football, taking shots. Well, the Dells aren't in Green Bay. Oh, here we go. Did I butcher that? Where are they? Up there.

Over north. Got it. So the Bears started out, 0 and 4, 1, and 5. and now they could finish 8 and 9. Oh, huh, oh, great. I think he saved his job. I still don't think the field stuff is real. If he puts on a show and beats Green Bay, I think they're...

That's a, is that a Fox game? Because it's NFC. That's kind of a low-key, interesting game. Fields against Jordan Love. What if Fields rocks it. See, I already have my decision made up on Fields. If I'm the GM, I already know what I'm doing. I do too.

I would train for a second round. I don't give me throws for 400 yards. It doesn't matter. No, no, no, no, but fans do. If he goes out and lights the world up, oh my God. We should root for that because it would be mayhem. But wait, I don't know who would be the seven then. Who would be the seven scene?

Would it be like Minnesota? I don't want to see Minnesota. No, no, no. By the way, Nick Mullins is starting again. But I kind of want to see Jordan Love against Dallas. Oh, I think it would be fun. I'll tell you this. Here's the other thing.

I'll throw this scenario. Jordan Love goes to Dallas. They get in and they face Dallas. First quarter, second series, C.D. Lamb, twist an ankle. Doesn't play the rest of the game. Jesus. Well, I'm just saying. That is bleak.

No, no, I'm saying he just out for, it's not a serious injury, but he limps off the field and is limited. Then Green Bay has got the four best receivers in the game with a red-hot quarterback. Brandon Cooks is better than some of those guys. No. Dantavian Wicks or whatever's name is. Come on. Reed is.

Watson, Reed. What's up with Watson? Do we know? Craft. Watson's hurt every week. That guy can't stay healthy. I'm telling you something. Jire Alexander gets out of the nonsense.

Locks down CD Lamb has its best game of the year. So I think Green Bay is too young. But there are scenarios. Last two years, Dallas has lost to Brock Purdy and Jimmy Garoppolo in the postseason. I'm sad or not. I can't wait for it. That'd be a great opening game. Final story.

Because they have a punch. Green Bay's got an offensive punch. They do. Yeah, yeah. All right. Final story. Detroit Lions, who you seem to like this week. They're coming off that brutal loss to Dallas with the referees getting involved.

The team says they'll use it as fuel going forward, but fans haven't let go yet. Billboards are up in Detroit with one saying, Decker reported. Oh my God. And I know that with their record, 11 and 5 crossed out and 12 and 4 written. Somebody spent after-tax dollars to put up a billboard. You know what? That is great. Detroit's a great sport city.

People there love. I got family members. Detroit loves their sports. There's an argument. I've said this for years ago, I used to say this, that Detroit's the best sports city in the country. No, no, time out. New York?

Now, half won't make it, whatever. But I was thinking we have 32 teams in the NFL. How many if you use this? This as your model. Have a franchise quarterback now and going forward for three years. So I would count Deshaun Watson, though I don't love him, he counts. I have 17. So Miami does. Buffalo does. Aaron Rogers isn't. Buffalo, Miami. Kansas City Chargers

Because I think Baker's, I'd give them a three-year deal. I would. I don't know. I wouldn't. I couldn't extend Eric Carr. I have, so I only have. And Bryce, again, Anthony Richardson and Bryce Young, now you're going to ask me,

how can I like Jordan Love and not blankety blank, right? No, no, no. I just need to ask about Deshaun Watson. Because I'm counting Baker and Jordan Love. I view them as I could. I would have no problem paying them for three more years. We have more than 16 games of data on Deshawn Watson with Stefanski. correct?

Yeah. We've seen Joe Flacco outperforming. We've seen Watson look like a shell of his former self. I think they go into this offseason, what's starting to wonder, do we need to draft the quarterback every year? The money's guaranteed. You're screwed. Like Russell isn't all guaranteed in Denver.

So I guess technically you think because they have to pay him. And I think he's good enough. You can win games with Deshaun. He would be near the bottom of my 17. Money, performance. He's not my cup. But I'm saying 17 to 32 teams that I count. Now, I do think Jordan Love, no, you can say you've only seen seven, eight weeks of it.

I'm just saying what I'm seeing is a franchise quarterback. And Baker, I would have no problem paying Baker three years. Three? I mean, you pay them three. Geno Smith had as good of the years Baker last year. And they said, hey, Gino, we like you, we don't love you. We're going to give you a basically one plus one. Geno may be 18, but I, I, I, I'm not to be on the, uh, see.

I'm just saying seven to, over almost slightly more than half. Now that should get to 20. They could get to 20 to 22 next year if two of the rookies hit, Anthony Richardson hit. But that just tells you. So I mean, Greg Kosell came on earlier.

He talked about Justin Fields. What are you seeing with the Bears quarterback? His overall field vision and his capacity to process with the needed speed and clarity from the pocket, that's gotten better, but it's still not where it needs to be, okay? But the question is, quarterbacks like fields is how much of a sliding scale, Colin, do you feel comfortable with

because he's such a high-level playmaker? Obviously, he's not going to be Tom Brady. He's not going to be Joe Burrow. We know that. It's easy to look at quarterbacks in this draft and say, aha. But, you know, there's no guarantee, and do they want to start over? I don't know the answer to this, but then you're starting over. There's no guarantee that whether it's Caleb Williams or Drake May, that they come in and play

well right away. Yeah, yeah. Now, I look at Justin Fields as a playmaker. I look at Jordan Love as somebody that can make plays, but I like him much more from the pocket. Here's CoSell on the Packers quarterback, Jordan Love. He clearly has high-level traits, and I think that was lost in all this. He's a high-level traits guy. He has easy arm strength. You mentioned it.

He works outside the numbers as well as any quarterback in the league. he makes tough throws effortlessly. I mean, he's made more throws outside the numbers than any quarterback in the league and has been really effective with those throws in terms of completion percentages, first downs, touchdowns. There's no question he looks like a more comfortable quarterback now than he did early in the season. And by the way, we shouldn't be surprised by that. He's a first-year starter.

I know he's been in the league, but, you know, he has to play in games. Yeah. So there go. I agree with him on both. He's a little higher on fields. But Justin is a playmaker. I've said there's a YouTube quality to Justin. Like, I could put three minutes of tape together, and you'd be like, of course he's a franchise quarterback.

But that's, I've always said, the gift of Michael Jordan and Mahomes. Three times a game, they look otherworldly. But Mahomes just doesn't miss his, he doesn't miss layups. Jordan didn't miss 18 footers wide open. Most of this sport is stuff in the flat. Screens, don't miss them. Don't overthrow the seam route. Drag route.

Hit it 100 out of 100. it. Zach Wilson makes plays. He misses easy stuff. And that, to me, that is quarterback one-on-one. Mahomes doesn't miss on stuff in the flat. It's just, Justin Herbert is a machine on stuff in the flat. Just doesn't miss it ever. All right. We moved today. A lot of stuff happening today. Show brought a lot of heat. Tomorrow, blazing three.
