This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

excitement to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show. This is a place for raw,

On the Look Back at it podcast.
From 1979, that was a big moment for me.
84 is big to me.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors.
Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.
84 was a wild.
I mean, it was a wild year.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days I'd put on 10 pounds, I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.

I just saw something that made me laugh.
I saw a picture on the internet of Luca having a beer this afternoon in the Bay Area.
I saw that.
People are freaking out.
With Bobon.
It could be Mott's apple juice, but I think it's a beer.
Maybe it's a cider.
I like to have a cider.
Before big games.
When I don't want to, you know, do too much.
What if he had, would it bother you if Luca had a beer this afternoon?
It's all water.
I don't care what anyone does.
Just go do your job.
I don't care.
If you go to your job at the highest level, it doesn't matter to me.
You go out all night and then come and show up and you're hung over and you put up 50.
What do I care what you did?
Yeah, I mean, if you're a pro athlete that weighs 240 pounds and you have a beer at noon and you play at 8,
and by the way, you're European and they drink and smoke more casually, they drink.
Does that confirmed this afternoon?
Well, I don't think I'd be bothered by it.
I don't know why I think that.
Seven minutes ago, let's see.
I don't know.
Let's get him Bruce Ard.
Chris Broussard.
Yeah.
He would do a little more journalism.
Okay, you're a journalist.
You're a journalist.
We're not.
We're just out here throwing crap against the wall.
Does it bother you if he's having a beer before the big game?
No.
Look, when you first hear it or see it, it's stunning just because of what we think of our athletes nowadays.
They used to be commonplace, Colin.
Bob Lanier, the great Bob Lanier, who died.
I think it was last week, he used to smoke cigarettes at halftime, which sounds crazy.
But, you know, that's how it was back then.
And so, Luca, let's put it this way.
I doubt, Colin, this is the first time during a playoff series or regular season even,
that Lucas had a beer, right?
If he is having a beer today, he was probably having beers during the Phoenix series, too,
and we saw how that turned out.
So, no, I can't be upset about it at all.
All right.
I can't be bad.
And also the European thing is, you know, they're a little more free with their lifestyle.
So, well, you know, whatever.
I mean, kids in Europe drink with their families at like 14, 15 years old.
So maybe that's why I'm going to move there.
Okay.
I like Golden State to win the series.
But Steph's numbers were not as good.
I looked it up last night.
They weren't as good against the Mavericks.
So I like Golden State, but I don't think it's going to be easy.
What do you make of this series?
Because they played a couple of times this year.
Anything jump out to you when they played earlier, Chris?
Well, look, I'm with you.
I've got Gold Estate and six.
Luca is scary.
There's no doubt about it.
Luca Donchich scares you because no one's been able to stop him.
And if you go back to his playoff history,
even Kauai Leonard and Paul George,
two of the great perimeter defenders of this era,
could not stop him.
And so, yeah, they're scary and you got to give them a puncher chance just because of him.
But I do think Goldstein takes care of them.
Now, a lot of people are looking at the regular season, Colin, and oh, Dallas beat him three out of four times.
Steph kind of struggled.
Nick Wright, I heard it from him all this morning, and he's just going on and on and basing everything on that.
First of all, the regular season is totally different.
Some teams are on a back-to-back.
some teams are playing four games and five nights and most importantly everybody's not playing and
here's the thing colin people people aren't looking at this they play four times clay thompson
only played two of those games draymond green only played one all right and jordan pool
had not yet emerged into what he is when they were playing against that and so all of that's a
factor so yeah they threw the kitchen sink at step
But you can't do that when Draymond's on the floor because Drayman's the playmaker at that point handling the ball.
And now Steph is running around moving without the ball rather than handling it all the time.
And then, of course, if Clay is there, you're going to pay the price by throwing the kitchen sink at Steph.
So we can't take a ton from what they did in the regular season.
Yeah. One of the games when Steph and Clay played together, they blew Dallas out by almost 40.
And so, look, Phoenix, for all of Phoenix's defensive prowess,
offensively, they had one bona fide 20-point score, Devin Booker.
That's true.
DeAndre Ains a really good player, right?
He's not a consistent 20-point guy.
And Chris Paul's a reluctant score.
Doesn't like, that's not his nature to go out and get 25 a night.
And so they have one guy, Gonsay's got three, Jordan Poole, Clay Thompson, and Steph,
plus Andrew Wiggins can light it up.
from here and there.
So I think Go and Say gets them.
The, um, it's, I said with Boston last night, they found out right before the game.
I think Marcus Smart wasn't going to play and he would have helped guard Jimmy Butler.
Um, I kind of, I really did feel like last night.
I thought Miami had three more days rest.
I mean, they were missing a starter, but they knew it going in.
They've been playing without Lowry for a while.
I just thought, I honestly thought that at halftime, I thought, after Miami,
weather the first half.
I thought Boston just looked sloppy and tired.
That series with Milwaukee, Chris, Milwaukee throws big bodies at you.
They're a physical team.
And so in game one, I thought the second half, I thought Boston looked shot.
So I didn't take a ton from the game.
Or should I give Miami more credit?
Well, certainly you give Miami credit.
I think they knew it halftime.
Look, this is a whole, if we lose this game, this could be.
be a hole we can't dig ourselves out of.
I mean, I was watching the game and I picked Boston in six.
But from the first half, you could be thinking, this might not go six.
I mean, if they beat them in Miami, as you mentioned, Miami had more rest in Miami,
without Al Horford and without Marcus Smart, both of whom are expected back at some point
in the series, Miami's in deep trouble.
And I think Miami turned up the heat, credit to them.
But a lot of what happened in that third quarter column was just self-inflicted.
No ifs, or buts about it.
Jason Tate, and what it showed you is that just because you're a good ball handler,
great ball handler maybe, you're not a point guard.
Yeah.
And he struggled bringing the ball up and making those point guard type decisions.
Most of his turnovers, if you look at them, were like, what are you thinking, Jason?
Credit Jimmy Butler and the defenders.
but he could like some of them were just terrible boneheaded plays him dribbling into obvious double coverage
or him Jimmy Butler lurking you could see him playing the passing lanes and he still passes the ball
getting his pocket picked by Victor Olipo throwing a terrible pass at the rim to Robert Williams III.
So I think that it's possible Boston relaxed because as you mentioned it,
What you saw from Miami in the first half defensively was like a day in the park for Boston
compared to what they had gone through with Milwaukee.
They have 40-something points in the paint in the first half against Miami.
So they're thinking, wow, this is a little bit easier.
And I think they may have relaxed the next thing you know, here come the gangbusters from Miami.
So I think it's a good series, but I still feel very comfortable about Boston being the better team.
Hey, what did you make...
When they're healthy, when they get their guys back.
What did you make of that story on Westbrook the other day where...
I thought... I laughed about it, actually, where they said they're asking potential Laker coaches.
How are you going to use Westbrook?
Now, I will say in the last 35 years, the Lakers have eight titles.
The Celtics have been more consistent, but they have one.
So we can keep lauding all the draft and developing of Boston, but it's not getting them the bag.
and the Lakers have had the bag eight times.
So say what you want, but L.A. tends to be a pivot,
a track, free agent, trade.
They're much more aggressive than Boston.
They don't really, like Yankee baseball doesn't develop as much as they acquire.
Lakers acquire more than develop.
But I saw that headline, I thought, man, they have bottomed out.
If you're trying to figure out the enigma, I mean, that's like a big bottom line.
They're not going to hire somebody who can't figure out Westbrook.
This franchise in big, bigger trouble than I think.
What did you make of the story?
Well, what I made of it is that I think it's due diligence, Colin,
because they may not be able to trade Russell Westbrook.
I think they will, ultimately.
I thought, I mean, at the end of the day, you might just buy him out.
But let's say they don't want to do that.
They can't move him in a decent deal.
And he is back.
You at least want to see what a coach's game plan is if Westbrook is there.
You saw what Frank Vogel tried to do with them.
What would you do if this is our roster?
So I got to be honest, I just see it as more due diligence.
I think they need to get rid of Russ at virtually all costs.
But if I were interviewing guys for the position, yeah, I want to know what do you do if we don't have Westbrook, if we have this type of roster?
But right now this is who we have.
What type of offense, defense, how you're going to play if this?
This is our unit.
So that's how I look at it, Colin.
Doesn't mean they're definitely keeping Russell Westbrook,
but it's just smart due diligence, in my opinion.
Yeah.
You know, if Boston, here's the thing, Chris,
I was looking at Robert Williams last night.
You know, he averaged two points, five points, eight points, 11 points.
He's classic draft and developed by the Celtics.
Marcus Mark, Jalen Brown, Jason Tatum.
That's what they do.
If they can't beat Miami and my takeaway is,
well, they needed to break Chris Middleton's injury to get past Milwaukee.
Middleton's coming back.
Yonison getting worse.
Philadelphia's got talent.
Miami's got talent.
And Miami's always attracted free agents much more than Boston.
If Boston loses this series, what do you do with this?
You're just going to keep drafting and developing?
What do you do with this group of guys?
I got nothing to show for it.
Well, look, you make an interesting point because the way they won their
one championship since Larry Byrd
was that they went out and traded for Kevin Gardner.
That's right.
That's right.
To add to Paul Pierce.
So I'm with you on that.
However,
I would not panic.
Look,
it's disappointed if you lose to Miami because Miami doesn't have the talent that Boston
has.
Miami started, Colin,
two undrafted guards last night.
Max Struis and Gabe Vincent.
Now,
credit this.
They play well.
They fit into that heat culture.
They play hard.
They shoot the ball well.
So they've become pretty decent players.
But still, two undrafted guards.
And that just tells you, PJ Tucker is in the starting lineup.
He's made something of himself.
But that shows you the talent discrepancy between Boston, which has Jalen Brown and Jason
Tatum, two lottery picks and Miami, which has Jimmy Butler.
You know, bam out of Bayou, obviously a very good, highly touted player.
but they don't have their talent that Boston has.
So it's a disappointment.
But here's what I, if I'm Boston, I say, look, our star Jason Tatum is 24.
Our other one is 25.
Now, granted, they've been to several conference finals now, four for Brown, three for Tatum.
At some point, you got to get over the hump, and this seems to be the year.
But we also have a rookie coach in MAU Dole, who's done a fantastic job, but still, he's in his first year.
And so that's how I would look at it.
Yeah, you want to add a few things here and there, make a couple tweaks.
But I wouldn't panic because I think this bunch is tough.
I think their culture there is good.
And I think that they would come back better next year if they have this group.
Because Jason taking him as good as he is and as much of a step as he's taking this year,
I think he'll be even better next year because he's such a great player with high upside.
So I wouldn't panic, but it would be incredibly.
incredibly disappointing because this is the one series they should win. Brooklyn, I mean,
we now look at them in hindsight with a lot of problems, but it wouldn't have been
shame to lose to Brooklyn. Wouldn't have been shame to lose to Milwaukee. This, I think you
really look back and say, wow, we gave that away if we lose it. Yeah, I mean, to me,
this is the year you should get there because Miami's not great. Chris Middleton got hurt. Hardin
was a mess in Philadelphia. Brooklyn imploded. It's very possible. All four of those teams are better
next year. Like to me, you're starting to look like
the Utah Jazz. I mean,
even the Utah Jazz went out and made some moves.
Well, we'll see. Chris Broussard,
first things first. Great seeing you,
my man.
Yeah, you too. Be sure to catch live

Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do a little kill?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.

Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill, waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack all day, but just so you all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
Yes.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years
for black people in American history.

in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize that we
are in possession of the thing. And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done
enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns,
Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you're doing. You find it important to be a good person
why you're here on earth? Are you a good person because you're afraid? Because that's two different
intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust. I want you to just really be
a good person. Join me, Keir Gaines, is we have real conversations about healing, growth, fatherhood,

I have not gone Hollywood. I don't hang out in Hollywood.
I live the exact same life I've always lived.
But when you live in Los Angeles, it's such an acquisition town for athletes.
It's just the chargers go out.
Let's get, you know, Khalil Mack and the Rams and the Lakers.
It's an acquisition town.
Nobody's patient here.
Nobody's going to sit around and wait till this is done and wait till they come.
It's not the way L.A. works.
We've got literally in the United States, 41 states can't pay their own bills and need a bailout from the feds.
we had a $97 billion surplus in COVID.
So like California is different.
We just go buy what we want.
Our state does.
Our teams do.
The revenues massive.
And so my takeaway is teams are less patient here.
That's just they don't give a coach another contract.
They don't give a player.
They just go get what they want.
And so part of me thinks with Boston, if Boston was based in LA, you'd be like,
keep Jason Tatum, move off Jalen Brown.
Robert Williams. Go get a star. Go get go get Kauai. Go get Paul George.
I do think that Boston is in an interesting place, though, with EMA being in his first year.
Like, the points Chris just made are valid, but you also can't continue to rest on what's not getting you to the next level.
Which, it's one game in the series, so we'll see all the rest of those plays out.
But projecting if they don't make it to the finals or don't win a championship.
You got a huge break. Chris Middleton got hurt.
Yeah.
You got a huge break.
Brooklyn imploded, hardened things.
mess. Miami
like Butler's not getting worse.
I'm not an advocate of blowing things up,
but I do think that you...
Yes, you do have to tweak. Okay, so if Boston was in
LA, they'd move off Jalen Brown.
They would say, Tatum's a star.
Marcus Smart's a total team guy, but I think they'd
go, you know, they'd go out and get like,
they'd call the clippers. Let's get Paul George
across the street. Let's, I just just the way,
and I'm not saying it's the right or the wrong way to do it,
but L.A. has 35 years
in eight titles. Boston has
35 and won. And the only time the Celtics won, they went out and got KG and Ray Allen.
So it's like, L.A. looks at the world differently. It's an acquisition town.
Yeah. It doesn't make it perfect. But the Dodgers and the Cincinnati Reds are like in a
different sport. It's the Celtics and the Lakers. You think they're two big brands, totally
different sport. Ohio State and Alabama are very similar how they run their business, right?
They recruit great players. They pay their coaches. The Celtics are draft and develop. And the
Lakers are like, yeah.
I mean, the Lakers had
Lonzo Ball, Kyle
Kuzma.
I mean, there are some nice players.
Yeah, I mean, Brandon Ingram was a nice player.
They move off them.
It doesn't always work.
I mean, it did work for them.
They won a championship two years ago.
That's right.
They're a disaster now, but.
So what do you, if you lose to Miami,
what do I get for all this draft
and develop nonsense?
I don't get anything for it.
Boston's like a higher standard.
Boston's about winning championships.
Patriots.
They're actually really not.
They haven't won that many championships.
you've mentioned. We think that because
we're watching winning time and stuff, but
like the heat of one more championships. We got a
picture to show people. What? What is this? Have we sourced this?
Look at it. Beer. Beer 30. We have not sourced this.
What do you mean not sourced it? I mean like this
where is this coming from? It's called
Attack the Rack. I need some
I need someone to confirm this. The other thing
that's weird is Aaron Rogers is two tables over right to the left.
Okay, attack the rack. I don't. There are
are not verified. I'm not
discrediting this. I just, I need
sources. What do you mean it's not verified?
Like, it's, I don't know who this person
is. It's attack the rack. Oh,
of course. What were I thinking? Is that my wife
over there? I have people that
Is that Ann?
I know follow them. Okay, so they have,
I don't know, man. So that's obviously
a pale ale,
a hazy IPA. It's something. I don't know
what it is, but that is a beer by, I'm not
bothered by it, but I think, you know, that's
99% water to a $2
40-pound athlete. It's 11.30
in the morning. He'll sleep it off.
They're claiming that this is happening
right now. I think it's
good topic.
Yes, sure. It's
definitely discussable if this has truly
been taken today
in the Bay Area.
I don't want to indict
Luca. I'm not indicting. And his
lunchtime beverage choices.
Two European players.
Europe, the kids drink with a family at 14,
kids between drinking and smoking and Europe's different than us and whatever.
This was posted two hours ago.
I'm looking at the tweet right now.
It was posted at 9.43 a.m. today.
Oh, my gosh.
He's out there booze-hounding at 9.40.
That's what I'm saying.
It's today.
So this was this yesterday?
Are we sure it's not?
Well.
Because yesterday changes the whole conversation.
Hey, hair of the dog.
I mean, 940.
This is a very busy place for 940 in the morning.
I don't know if it's, no way.
940 and.
San Francisco. It's not that busy at a restaurant.
I feel attacked right now.
He's wearing a hoodie.
I need an extra source.
He's wearing a hoodie.
He's wearing a hoodie.
So in the Bay Area in the mornings, it is foggy, so that would be what you'd wear.
I wear a hoodie every day.
This is one of the great stories.
You know, folks, a lot of these shows talk.
One of them does journalism.
You're watching that show currently.
We're thrown out real Big J. journalism right here.
I think people in Dallas will freak out when they lose tonight.
We haven't even confirmed this is today.
If this was yesterday, who cares?
You can have a beer on your off day.
Like it was yesterday, it's not even a story.
Lucas having a beer at a restaurant on his off day.
Well, the way I look at it, whenever it hits the internet, that's when it happened.
Oh, of course.
I really need an extra confirmation on when this was.
I think the first post-game question to Luca tonight has to be,
what's it like to play drunk?
Listen
If he's drinking a beer at 943 a.m. on a game day.
That's a bigger issue than drinking a beer at 943.
Yeah, the bay is on the same coast.
So it was at that time.
Like it's down the street.
I'm not in a position to judge.
I will drink a mimosa at 7 a.m. at the airport.
I had a friend who did this for a living that got stoned often before he went on the air.
I know lots of people who are enlightened on the air.

Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people.
I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim?
Well, you can find out on the Look Back at it podcast.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it.
Including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s.
To be clear, 84 is big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know.
I mean, at this point, Mark, this is the second episode where we've discussed crack.
So I'm starting to see that there's a through line.
We also have AIDS on the table right now.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Welcome to my new podcast, Learn the Hard Way with me, your host, and your favorite therapist, Kear Games.
And in recognition of mental health awareness month, I'm bringing over a decade of my own experience in the mental health field and
conversations with so many incredible guests. I'm talking. Trip Fontaine, Ryan Clark. Sometimes when
we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so wrapped up in the chase that we don't realize
that we are in possession of the thing and we're still chasing it and we don't know when we've done
enough. Because people scoreboard watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns,
Dustin Ross, because you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth? Are you a good
person because you're afraid. Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two
different levels of trust. I want you to just really be a good person. Join me, Keer Gaines,
as we have real conversations about healing, growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose on my new

Okay, so Joy just found out that as Luca's here knocking down Brucekees, potentially this morning,
though we don't have it confirmed.
One of the coaches for the Mavericks is also next to him and he's okay with it.
So my guess is this happened yesterday.
Yeah, I believe being a drinker myself and a morning drinker when the occasion calls for it.
Yeah.
This was a yesterday photo.
Okay.
So we are...
I'm trying to do my due diligence on the Twitter sphere.
Yeah, because a coach...
That's Igor, Slovenian head coach.
National coach, yeah.
Yes. Igor Kokoskov.
He was the coach for the sons.
He's an assistant coach.
coach for the maps. So he wouldn't want to be part and parcel to this. And that's obviously Bobon
on the other side. So this feels like a Sunday, this feels like a last night yesterday afternoon
drink. Yeah. Team Hotel, outdoor cafe. Probably staying at the rich or something up by her on one of
those nice hills in San Francisco. And then we'll knock down a little bruskey. All right. Controversy
avoided. Yeah, I don't feel like that's a story that he's having a beer on his off day.
Yeah. I mean, if it was this morning, it still doesn't bother me. This morning at 9.40.
in the morning, it doesn't, it wouldn't bother.
I mean, I'm not judging.
I told you, I don't care what state of minor.
And if you go and put up 50, it's relevant.
I wouldn't want my quarterback drinking before a game.
So I probably don't love my NBA star.
I think the aesthetic, the optics are bad.
But it's like it's all water and he's a European and it's, you know.
Yesterday.
If it's yesterday.
Well, yeah, yeah, yeah.
But if he was drinking today, it doesn't bother me.
9.43 in the morning on a game day.
Game one of the Western Conference Finals.
That sounds so funny.
I don't know.
I don't think this was today.
All right.
Well, you know what?
It's a little fuzzy when it was, but let's just move on.
Okay, so Colin Watch Party.
So I was looking at the NFL schedule.
I'm not saying these are the best games.
Some will be blowouts.
But these are the games I thought were the most interesting games.
So week one, Bills at Rams.
So they raised the banner in Los Angeles at SoFi.
I bet you it's half Bill's fans.
and Josh Allen against Matt Stafford,
AFC powerhouse favorites,
NFC powerhouse favorites.
These are the two Super Bowl favorites.
I think week one, that's a great game.
Also week one,
also week one.
Bronco Seahawks,
Russell Wilson,
comes back to face Pete Carroll.
Now, I don't think this is,
now Seattle will probably be pretty feisty
early in the season. If these played in week
eight, it'd be a blowout.
But you think maybe in week one,
Russell comes back.
You know, Pete's got, you know,
they drafted pretty well defensively.
Last couple years,
they throw a little this at him, a little
that. Maybe Denver's not quite
all locked in offensively.
Broncos at Seahawks.
Then I go to week three.
Packers at the Buccaneers.
So Brady has won three straight.
this is you know it's funny about this rivalry is that Aaron now can't beat old man Brady
forget Brady in his prime when he was winning Super Bowls and Aaron was getting bounced
out of the playoffs Aaron can't beat old man Brady which I think deep down bothers Aaron
Rogers and this is the first big game of the year for Aaron Rogers without Devante
Adams so I don't think Green Bay is in the Super Bowl window and they're at Tampa it's going to be
a sweltering game late September in Tampa how about we
Week 6, Bill's Chiefs.
Rematch of last year's divisional round overtime.
So that are best NFL game, maybe in a decade.
Bill's now made improvements this offseason.
Went and got Vaughn Miller.
The Chiefs lost Tyreek Hill.
So Kansas City won't quite be as explosive, whereas I think Buffalo is going to be a better football team.
I really do think Buffalo was the best team in the NFL last year.
They just didn't win the Super Bowl.
And I think Buffalo is going to win it this year.
Week 13, this is getting very interesting.
Chiefs at Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
That's a rematch to the AFC championship in which Cincinnati won.
And, you know, Burroughs now gone 2 and 0.
This is something that's not to be taken lightly.
Burrow and Cincinnati beat the Chiefs both times last year.
Everybody remember that?
Beat them both times.
And I think Cincinnati,
has now better wide receivers.
I think Cincinnati has an equal offensive line now because of their upgrades on the interior
OL.
And I think that the Bengals have a more consistent pass rush than Kansas City.
I've told you, I think Kansas City makes the playoffs as a wildcard team.
How about week 14, chiefs at the Broncos, Mahomes at Russell Wilson?
This may end up being the best game of the year.
Broncos home field advantage against the AFC West champs for the last six years.
You'd think I'm a little anti-Kansas City.
Not that the windows closed, but their schedule this year is brutal.
Week 15, this one interests me.
Patriots Raiders, Belichick against Josh McDaniels.
And I've told you before, Josh McDaniels leaving Mack Jones.
I think McDaniels knows Mac has a ceiling, and it's not close to Herbert, Burrough, Mahomes, Josh Allen, or Russell Wilson.
And I think Mahomes knows Derek Carr's a better quarterback, and now he's going to have better weapons.
So people just thought Josh McDaniel, he'd been offered multiple jobs.
But this Raider team is stacked offensively, and Derek Carr is better than Mack Jones.
Not that it was a total indictment on Mac Jones, but it's a little indictment on Belichie.
inability to draft skill people and Mack Jones's inability to do anything off script.
So Patriots at the Raiders.
Because for the record, a lot of people felt that Josh was going to get the job after Bill.
But if you were the number two to Bill and you're like, we don't draft receivers well,
it's becoming a receivers league.
And I can go to Devante Adams, Hunter Renfro, Darren Waller.
And who wants to replace Bill Belichick?
That's like replacing Howard Stern 15 years ago.
What's the point?
At least if you're replacing Tom Brady at this point,
there was a little bit of a bumper between you and Brady.
You know?
It sounds crazy to say this,
but I don't think Kansas City is one of the best three teams.
I'm not sure they're one of the best three teams in the AFC.
I think Buffalo's better.
I think Cincinnati beat him twice last year is better.
I think Denver's going to be better.
I think Kansas City is maybe the fourth best team.
I'm not so sure they're significantly better than the Chargers.
and it's not a shot on Kansas City.
I think the AFC is so good.
I'm not ready to make the leap yet.
They still have the experience
and they still got that guy.
You know, the other team that I'm interested in.
So Miami beat New England both times last year
with really no offense.
Well, now they have Tyree Kill,
Jalen Waddle in a year two,
Cedric Wilson, and way better running backs,
and an offensive coach.
And an upgraded offensive line as well.
And a Patriot had a goofiege
Draft, Belichick's calling
plays. I told you this last year.
I know it's not true, but it's
almost like Belichick
is sabotaging
the Patriot. So when he leaves, they've got
no skill players, none of his
top assistants. And they're bad for like a decade
and makes them look great? If you start
looking at what he's doing, it's very
maniacal calling. No, I know it's not
true, but he's still bitter about the Jimmy Garoppolo
thing. But the way I look
at it is Miami now
has got better players. He can't
still be bitter about that. Oh God. People are better. They won a championship.
People are big. Oklahoma's going to be better about Lincoln Riley for 20 years.
Look, I'm petty about a lot of things. But if someone overrules me and I end up, you know,
getting a ring out of it, I'll get over it. Oh, I think they're, I don't know.
Trade form now then. They could get, they could have gotten Jimmy Garabolo back.
I think it's really hard for people to acknowledge this. New England doesn't have good
enough players anymore. They don't have it. Who's their best player?
who is the best player in New England?
You're not going to catch me arguing for New England.
I mean, I'll be honest with you.
Their best player right now is, is it Dante?
No, no, it's Matthew Judeon, the, the rusher,
who was invisible late in the year because he was worn down.
They don't, I'm sorry this whole, it's like San Antonio when they let Coi Leonard go.
No, systems only work, systems and cultures only work when you have players to put in them.
Like, it's better to have than be dysfunctional,
but it still doesn't elevate a pass, not having talent.
The culture has been fantastic forever in Boston.
I mean, they've had a great, Miami's had a great culture.
But Anthony Davis and the Lakers with a terrible culture in L.A.
for the last eight years won the championship.
You got to have players.
New England and I have your players.
All right.
There we go.
We were going to do a Lincoln Riley story.
We touched on it earlier.
But I want to be very careful because they get very sensitive in Oklahoma.
They're very snowflakey.
I always thought Oklahoma was tough guys and oil guys.
and energy guys, a lot of biceps and alpha.
They get really sensitive and snowflakey on Lincoln Riley.
Nobody likes to get dumped.
That's not unique to Oklahoma.
And every time people get dumped, it's always, it's the way she left me.
It's never the way she left you.
No.
If your wife says, I want out, it doesn't matter if it's morning, noon night, pre-vacation,
during vacation, post-vacation.
No, it's that they left.
That is the classic.
There are better ways to dump people.
But you're always hurt and you lash out and you're emotional.
Nobody gets told I'm dumping you and says, I'm overjoyed in most cases.
Well, I should say in most cases, unless you want it out.
But, you know, you get dumped.
It hurts.
Oklahoma's got their feelings hurt.
You're allowed to have feelings.
Yeah.
Okay.
We'll see you tomorrow on a Thursday live in L.A.
It's the hurt.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite, unhumored me with Robert Smygel
and friends, me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel, help an a cappella band with
their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all,
embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
