All right, here we go. Hour 3. Live in L.A. It's the herd wherever you may be, however you may be listening. IHeart Radio, Fox Sports Radio, FS1. You know, we say this all the time on this show. Everybody always says, well, there's seven or eight great quarterbacks in the league. That's it. And I always say, well, there's seven or eight great coaches in the league. That's it. And there's seven or eight great owners in the league. Folks, there's just not much great out there. So billionaires are richer than. than ever, more impatient than ever. And when you give people more money, if I said to you tomorrow, here's 10 million in your bank account. You're going to waste more money. You're going to eat out more. You're going to buy a little fancier car. You're not going to stress the details

if I put 10 million in your bank account. Well, if you're an owner of an NFL team, and as these NFL franchises now, are not worth $800 million. They're worth $4 billion. If you put the Indianapolis Colts on the market, if somebody came in, somebody'd pay $5 billion for that thing.

all the global wealth is not going in the stock market or the housing market. People think there's a bubble with both. It's going into sports teams. That's where all the real global wealth is in the world. Sports teams, English Premier League teams, Real Madrid's, NFL, baseball. You've got international owners all over the place owning different teams. That's where the wealthy, because you know in 30 years, the Cowboys are going to be in Dallas, the Eagles are going to be in Philadelphia, and the Patriots are going to be in Boston.

You don't know what the stock market is going to do in 30 minutes. You don't know what the housing market's going to do in three years. So this is a very interesting story. So Bob Cravitz is a great columnist. He's been covering, you know, Indianapolis Sports forever, very trusted guy. He has come out and said, I thought Carson Wentz was 50, 50. He's a goner. He's out of here.

Bob Cravitz is saying he's out of here. He's now making crap up. So Carson Wentz is on the market. Now, to me, that feels like Jim Ursay is in one of his moods. but Carson Wentz, this is real funny. So during the season, I was critical of Carson Wentz. Colt fans came after me. You're not the problem.

We all know, as Leroy Butler just told us, your fans, I'm not. Fans, your emotions are all over the place. Go to a message board for a team during a game. Everybody wants the coach fired. Packer fans after they lost, get Aaron out of here. Week later, we love Aaron. I don't play that game. I've said before, I'm the judge.

you're the jury, whatever, you're the attorneys. I'm sitting up here trying to have no emotion. So everybody, because of the way the season ended, Carson Wentz is no good. Take a deep breath. You are defending him all season for a reason. You were defending him all season for a reason. He wasn't the problem.

This is not a good receiving core, and it's not a great tight end room. It's not. They don't have a dominant number one receiver. They have Michael Pittman. He's a great two, probably not a one, but a great two. Paris Campbell, T.Y. Hilton's about to retire. It's not a great, it's not a great receiving room. Also, they faced the NFC West.

They had to face the Niners. They had to face the Rams. They had to face the Seahawks. They had to face Arizona. So they played some tough out of division, out of conference games, right? Carson Wentz had 27 TDs and seven picks. I would take him tomorrow in Pittsburgh. I would take him tomorrow in Denver.

I wouldn't pause for a second. He's not $40 million a year. He's not $35 million a year. You guys are all banging on him in Indianapolis. Don't kid yourself. You are defending him all year long. And you can go to the end of the season and say he melted down. I get it.

But Jacksonville beat them. Jacksonville beat Buffalo. And Jacksonville has always given for whatever reason the Colts fits. You know what I know. There are these weird matchups in the NFL. Cincinnati, as good as they are, Cleveland has owned them the last two years, despite all their dysfunction. Jacksonville has always played the Colts tough.

They lose at Jacksonville. I swear to God, every time they play there. But I watched Carson Wentz go toe-to-to-to with Stafford and Russell Wilson, and I saw him outplayed Jimmy Garoppolo in the Niners and beat the Niners. I saw that. I saw that game against the Rams. I didn't think he was awful. I thought, you know, Stafford was the better quarterback.

Carson Wentz was fine. Now, they lost the Rams 27-24. You're not doing that with Jacob Eason. I don't know. Now, now I will say this. He was bad, bad against Tennessee. Well, Tennessee's pass rush is great. Tennessee's pass rush made Matt Stafford look incompetent.

So don't kid yourself. Tennessee's front made a lot of guys look bad. They were a number one seat in the AFC. They made a lot of quarterbacks look bad. Stafford had his worst game of the year against him. They sacked Burrough nine times. So Carson Wentz struggled against Tennessee. Go ask Joe Burrow about that defense.

Go ask Matt Stafford about that defense. Two guys in the Super Bowl got undressed by that defense, got beaten up. But, you know, it's just easy to bang on wince. I saw him hammer the Niners 30 to 18. They lost in overtime to a good Baltimore team. They lost close to the Titans 34, 31. Lost to the Rams close. They beat who they mostly should have beat.

outside of Jacksonville late. Very interesting. They stacked up with those NFC West teams pretty good. To-to-to-to. Rams, toe-to-to. San Francisco beat them soundly. You tell me somebody in the Pittsburgh quarterback rooms as good as Wenz? No way.

No way. You telling me somebody in the quarterback room in Denver is as good as Carson Wins, 6'5.2.37. No way. Now, I like Wence more than you do. He makes really bad mistakes. But as I've said before, you know, he, like Sam Darnold does too, but Wents is clearly better than that. I'm not saying he's Mahomes.

I'm not saying he's a top eight quarterback. But I don't know what you tell me right now. What's the Colts Anderson to this? They don't have anybody in the room that's close to him. By the way, I also saw him go toe to toe with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 38, 31. I saw him beat Houston, 31-0. Well, Houston, they hammered the Chargers and Justin Herbert. So they beat the Niners.

They beat Buffalo 415. Go look at the numbers against Buffalo. Carson Wentz beat Buffalo. 4115 outplayed Josh Allen. Go look at the numbers. I don't know. By the way, beat New England a playoff team. That Belichick defense almost dropped 30.

I don't know. That is big. So Pittsburgh, that's a big break for two AFC teams right there that the Colts could face. So Bob Cravitt's saying he's a goner. Wow. They beat Arizona. They beat San Francisco. To-to-to-to-with-the-Rams.

Beat New England. Almost beat Tampa. Beat Buffalo. Can't be that bad. And you Colfant, you defended him every time I criticized him during the year. I did the blind... Listen, remember the blind resume I did. Take the emotion out of it.

Here are numbers for Carson Wentz. 62.5% completion percentage. 27 TD 7 picks. That is not a great wide receiver room. Don't even try to argue that. It's not. It's the weakness of their team. I don't think they're good enough on the perimeter.

Passer rating 94. Blind resume. TV viewers. Who's he better than? Yeah, Josh Allen. Oh, okay. All right. Let's do it again.

Let's do the blind resume again. All right. Oh, boy, he's at least as good as the other guy on the other side. Who's that? That's funny. It's Derek Carr. Mike Vrable's a smart guy. Right?

Right? Let's do it one more time. Carson wins. So who's that guy over there? Well, Mike Vrable's a smart guy. He said, I'm not moving off Ryan Tannahill. He's got better numbers than Ryan Tannale. A lot better.

Stan, you go, I'm looking at it right now. To toe to toe with the Rams. Beat San Francisco, beat Arizona, beat Buffalo, and you're just going to let him walk out the door. You go ahead, crazy fan. Tell me how bad he is. You do not have the answer in the building, in my opinion.

Well, what do I know? That's a big story. Lorty, that's a big one. Sometimes, man, these owners, I got Eric Mangini around the corner. He's dealt with some of these crazy town owners. I think it's Ursay. I think Ursay's ticked off.

And, you know, listen, he owns a team. You can do what he want. But this is not an organization that does rash things. They're very kind of stable. I mean, the criticisms on them, they're not flashy enough. They don't have enough weapons. That's the knock. The knock isn't that they're, I mean, they draft well, they're smart.

They don't do their business publicly. I don't know. Hold on one second. One year anniversary today of the Wents trade from Philadelphia. One year anniversary. Also, Would they be up with the Colts be on the hook for any of the money?

They gave up. What did they give up to get him? Gave up some draft picks. Now, Philadelphia is probably rolling their eyes laughing at this. They gave up a first round pick. Now, I have no problem if, you know, you got to give up a first round pick. That doesn't worry me, but I just wouldn't want to pay if he goes to another team. God, I think that's a big story.

So Chris Mortensen reported a week ago that Carson Wents' prospects returning to the Colts. Chris Mortensen said this, Bleak. Peter King doubted it. Was it yesterday or the day before in our show? Bob Cravitz today. and Bob's admitting he said it's not sourced but I think he's a goner and you know listen Chris Mortensen is is gold standard stuff if he's saying it's bleak it's bleak Frank Reich and Chris Boutard met with local media at seasons

and if you guys recall Neil neither committed to Wence's return boy that's just it's just interesting like again this is not official but when Mortensen's out there Peter King believes it Cravitz. It's a fascinating story. I don't know. Seems to me, you know,

the worst place to be in this league is driving to the facility every day with a backup quarterback starting. Those guys in that room in Indy, they are not starting NFL quarterbacks outside of Wentz. All right. Okay, Eric Mangini, three years, jets, a couple years, Browns, Fox Sports, three rings with Patriots.

So let me ask you this. So two things today. First of all, just let's address the Carson Wins thing. So, listen, Bob Kravitz, who I trust, is saying, listen, this is my opinion on this. But I'm reading the T leaves here. He's been doing it a long time. He's a goner. Chris Mortensen said his return is bleak.

Well, bleak isn't 50-50. What do you read into that? I think that it's reactionary. It feels like one of those moments where you've got to pacify the fan base. you've got to pacify the anger and the frustration that they had at the end of the season, but it's not necessarily the right decision. It's not as if you went into that trade without understanding that there were issues with the player, and you felt like you could get the best out of him.

And he hasn't been there very long, and are you surprised that there were still issues? You shouldn't be, but now to react and say, okay, we're done with this. It just feels, it feels emotionally driven as opposed to sitting back organizationly and saying, okay, what is our alternative and is our alternative better than what we have? And until you can make that decision objectively and have a plan in place, it's the mark of a lot of dysfunction in organizations. You just knee-jerk reactive stuff.

And it's easy to fire people. It's always easy to fire people. it's hard to find their replacement and to find an upgrade. So Joe Montana, Steve Young, in the last couple of weeks, have intimated that Trey Lance, you know, maybe not ready. Joe actually said that. Joe's not a controversial guy. He's not a fire starter.

Steve Young saying, you know, there's got to be a boot camp. I'd go get Brady for a year, Rogers. Stuff gets out when somebody wants it out. I mean, I'm sorry, but he's been in 150 practices, played in six games, started to, I mean, come on, Eric, wouldn't I know by now? Well, you may know that he's not ready, and this feels like something that came out from assistant coaches as opposed to the head coach or the GM. And my frustration with this situation is, why didn't you play him more during the course

of the season? You could easily have a package for him every single game, got him real life, meaningful snaps, allowed him to continue to. develop without hurting the team. It would have been hard to prepare a package defensively to deal with him. And now you're in the situation where you're not quite sure whether you're going to get better than what you had. And look, that's the way it is with a young player that hasn't played. You don't necessarily know. But if you're going to make a decision to sit him for another year or to let him learn for another year, why not stay with Garapolo?

Garoppolo's salary cap number isn't very high. I think he was about mid-pack for the quarterbacks. You know what you have there as opposed to trying to go find some other answer. To me, if that's the route you want to go, then stay with the two guys you have and see what happens. So I consider you the official voice of the Cleveland Browns since you live right in Cleveland. I don't think they consider me that. So Mary Kay Cabot's been covering this team since you were there, and Mary's not out there making stuff up.

She said they're kicking the tires on veteran quarterbacks, and I said there's one thing I'm going to look, and I don't want to pick on Baker. I really don't. We've made good on a couple of things, I think. But here's the thing I look at. OBJ worked really quick in L.A. I don't love that.

Jarvis Landry had less than 600 yards last year. Austin Hooper was a two-time Pro Bowler with Matt Ryan. Not with Brady. not with Aaron Rogers, but Matt Ryan. He's disappeared in that offense. I got three guys there. I know we're talented. I got eyes here.

They're performing under previous levels. I'm sorry, Eric, but that's something. You're nod and that's something, right? Yeah, it is something. But when you look at the Brown season last year, and I know that you can be a little bit harder on Baker than some people are, and I'm with you in a lot of ways because we both get frustrated by some of the same things that he does. But when you look at it objectively, he was injured for quite a bit of the season.

Yes, fair, fair. So there's that. You got the injury to Kareem Hunt where he missed over half the season. You've got the injury to Nick Chubb where he missed two games. So losing that talent in the running game, I think, affected their whole offense. And then he felt like a guy that was desperately trying to prove that the year before wasn't a fluke. And what it ended up doing is add more questions than necessarily answers. Again, his number next year is relatively small because he's in the fifth year option.

If you have a viable alternative that you think is going to significantly upgrade the position, then great. But I think he's a 19 million maybe next year. It's such a small number for a starting quarterback that to even go get a veteran, a lot of veterans are getting 10 million, 12 million a year in sort of that carryover role. By the way, does that make sense? Yeah. McVeigh, we heard about retirement. I didn't buy it for a second. I thought he wants to raise.

Do you buy it? Here's what I buy about it is. It's hard what he's. done and it's really impressive what he's done. I'm I've become a huge Sean McVey fan because I'm amazed that he did it at such a young age. He's done it with so many players that couldn't work other places. He's done it with all kinds of changes to the to the organization since he's been there with with guys getting promoted. But it's it's exhausting and going through that you get to a point where you start to assess your whole life and then you look at at a little bit of balance. And now that he's won a Super

Bowl financially, I would imagine he's in pretty good shape. And he's on the verge of starting a family and getting married. He may be looking at, okay, what else is there besides this? That being said, you go to the Super Bowl parade, you get a good night's sleep and you get excited about the next year and you realize you still have a lot of talent coming back and you think okay maybe maybe maybe I just needed a little rest and and get recharged and look a raise he probably deserves a raise he does deserve a raise yeah yeah um you know jim harbaugh pretty well i saw that new michigan contract buyouts tiny he's still not the highest paid or second highest paid guy in the big 10 i think he signed a five-year deal because it was good for recruiting it was out there that he was all over the

place and this sounds like oh jim's our guy you've been in a room with him you know him very well i i think he's going back to the nfl at some point i i think it i really do your thoughts yeah i i view jim as a guy who always likes a new challenge and i view jim as a guy who always appreciates a new environment and jim has said that you know sometimes he can he can he can the relationship can get a little bit tense when he's at a place for for too long and a change of senior ends up being good for everybody. I know he loves Michigan. I know he loves it with all of his heart.

So for him to be able to try to get them a national championship would be a big motivating factor. But I think he's also really passionate about the idea of winning a Super Bowl championship. And he's got a brother who's done it. And I'm sure he wants to have a ring at the table, just like. like his brother. So I could definitely see him going back. How quickly? Not sure. Yeah. All right.

You know, I'm not trying to try to get into Aaron Rogers' head, but my guess is he probably comes back, right? I wouldn't. I would said this before. I think as you age, you want to have better people around you. I think we all lose our energy. You've taken a couple surgeries, you've gotten hit a few times.

I would move. I'd go to Denver New Channel. I don't think Aaron Rogers looks at home and Herbert and Carr and is scared. That's not how great players think. I don't think. But I would move if I was him. The more and more I think about it, I look around what Stafford did.

I'm like, I want better weapons. And if we signed Devonte, we're not going to have a great number two. You can't afford it. I know what I make. I know what Devante makes. We're already $44 million over the cap. I can absolutely see him going,

you know, that Stafford Super Bowl is pretty darn powerful. I mean, it really is. You start looking at it. You're like, man, it's amazing. You get that second, third receiver when you can go get OBJ and Vaughn Miller. We're not doing that here. What is your guess today? My guess is they're not letting him go.

And it's the same thing that I talked about last year when he redid his contract. He cut a year off his contract, but he's still under contract for next season. Why would they ever let him go? He can threaten to retire. He can do whatever he wants to do. They still wouldn't have the player in that case. but they've gone, what, 13 and three or had 13 wins the last three seasons. They went to back-to-back NFC championship games.

They were positioned to do it again. This year, the cap situation isn't very good. At the end of the day, I think his biggest issue is he wants more money. Now, the problem with that is when you take a bigger piece to the pie, then you've got to make the players around you better because they're not going to all be stars. And that's your job. That's what you're tasked to do. he has the ability to do that.

But if I'm Green Bay, there is no way that I'm letting him leave. There's just no chance. What if Jordan Love was really good? What if you watched Jordan Love at practice and he looked like, you know, a little Homer? Would you do it then? Yeah, of course I would. I'm sure when they were, I'm sure when they were looking at Aaron Rogers when they had

Brett Farber was like, oh, okay, this makes sense. We can do that. But I don't think they're looking at Jordan Love. and thinking the same thing when you've got a back-to-back MVP and have won 13-plus games of season. I think you're thinking, yeah, we're going to sit on this guy another year or at least, you know, compensate him and he's going to be around for a little while. All right. So are you, Mangini.

with local rebates. Alex for the news. No, no, no, no, no, turn on the news. This is the herd line news. Well, you and Eric Manjini just mentioned Jim Harbaugh's new contract. Yeah. It includes a base salary of $7 million in 2022, but more importantly, though, is his contract structure as it pertains to leaving.

An early exit from Michigan in the first year of his extension would mean Harbaugh would owe the university just $3 million. That's nothing. From there, the amount owed decreases to $2.25 million in 2020, $1.5 million in 2024, and just over $750,000 in 2025. So if Harbaugh wanted to return to the NFL's a head coach, it won't cost him very much for his freedom. It won't cost him anything. The NFL team will step in and pay the bill. Exactly. Yeah, it's, listen, he's young.

And not only is he only like 57, what is he, six, 57 years old, but his energy is young. I mean, Jim's a former athlete. He's in great shape. How old is he? He's 58 years old. He's in great shape. Some guys are old in 58.

Yeah. He is ripped. I mean, he's in great shape, workout, beautiful family, beautiful wife. He's an active guy. Yeah. He has got minimum 20 years. left to coach. Oh, yeah. And Saban right now is in his prime and he's 70. So Belichick's got Harbaugh's got 20 years of prime coaching left. And who thinks he's going to be at Michigan for 20

years? Nobody. I don't even think Michigan donors do. No. And who knows? You don't know what positions are going to open up next year or in two years. And if the right situation happens, you're allowed to change your mind. And they just gave him the perfect exit strategy if he wants to go. All right. Well, former patriot Rich Ornberger had some interesting insight as to what might have caused Tom Brady to walk away from the Bucks. He tweeted this morning, heard some interesting things recently. The Tom Brady and Bruce Ariens's honeymoon was over in Tampa. The retirement announcement wasn't because of the trouble seeing eye to eye on the offensive game planning, but the relationship was souring. He went on to say apparently while Ariens was rehabbing the Achilles in the early mornings, offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich and Brady would work on the weeks. game plan. Ariens would then come in later, take a red pen when they were done and they felt undermined and there was tension. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, there was tension the year they won the Super Bowl. And the draft will be next week on Tuesday. The season starts on April 16th. I've said, I've been wrong twice. I've said it before.

Bleak is, you know, it's not happening. Yeah. So bleak is very, very. and so now Bob Cravitt saying he's a goner. There's another site out there saying it, and we'll see. And nobody's denying it. What's interesting about this is that, and this is the interesting part, I think Wence is a B quarterback,

but I think Matt Ryan's a B quarterback. But I think Wence is bigger, stronger athletic, 27 TD 7 picks. I don't love their wide receiver room. I think it's really average. I like Jack Doyle, but I think he can play. Now, he makes a lot of mistakes. He drives me nuts. trying to extend plays.

He's got a Sam Darnold DNA, which drives me nuts. But I'll say it again, you start looking at that schedule and what he did this year. A lot of stuff you can't deny. A lot of Ws. A lot of Ws. Beat Buffalo, beat New England, had the Rams and the Buccaneers on their heels. You beat some good beat San Francisco. So it's not official, but people that,

usually are well connected in that city, in that area, in this league. He's out there. You know, it's funny. So I've got all these cult fans are like, oh, you just carry in their GM, Chris Ballard's Water. Haven't talked to Chris in a long time. I never put my sources in that kind of position that I'm going to ask for something like this. So it's not me. These are my opinions.

I liked Wentz. I defended the move. I don't have to love everything. Sometimes at quarterback, I just, I like Kirk Cod. He's better than having a rookie that you don't trust. Like, I can like your quarterback. I like Matt Ryan. I like Dak.

I like Kirk Cousins. I like Wentz. Then there's guys I don't like. But you don't, quarterback in the NFL, I don't have to love your quarterback. I don't have to love him like Herbert or Burrow. I can like my quarterback because he's simply better than the options.

What you don't want to be is starting a backup. Then you're done. You're done. Now, the good news is this division isn't great. I mean, the best quarterback in the division is Ryan Tannahill. So, I mean, in terms of production so far in his NFL career, I think Trevor Lawrence is a better talent. So Deshawn Watson's not going to come back, we guess, to Houston.

We're at the NBA All-Star Break. So last night, I watched Philadelphia play Milwaukee. You know, Hardin's not playing yet. I don't know what I can take for it. You're not watching NBA every night? Well, no, no, I do start now. And I did about a month ago. You know, if I'm working out, I watched the Eastern games.

So I'd watch the Knicks drop another game or Philadelphia. That's the beauty of L.A., right? Like 430, you're working out and you're watching NBA games. It's the best time to watch it. I thought you were a morning workout guy, though. No. Not before the hurt, pumping iron? Nope, not interested.

I ate Danish's and half and half. All right, here we go. Tomorrow's headlines today. What's the headline going to be for the Lakers, second half of the NBA season? I'm not feeling optimistic, Colin. Anthony Davis goes down again. LeBron 37. Can he carry them?

The headline will be low brow. I'm sorry, Anthony Davis. The Lakers are going to miss the playoffs, Colin. They're only four and a half up on the 11 seed, Portland, who's terrible. And now AD's out four weeks. He's going to miss at least a dozen games, probably more. What really hurts the Lakers is the NBA loads up the second half of the schedule, right? NFL season ends.

Lakers play all these national television games. and so the Lakers schedule is brutal. A buddy of mine who has season tickets is just like, hey, Luca's coming, you want to go to the game? Yeah, and the next day after that is like, Steph Curry is coming in town. Laker's schedule is just brutal after the All-Star break. I think they're going to miss, Colin, the playoffs.

You know, if you want to bet against them missing the playoffs right now, they're plus 3,000 to win the title. That's how much of a long shot they are. Vegas is bailing on them, and I just wonder, Colin, will LeBron consider I'm 37? We're not going anywhere. Do I shut it down? I'm not winning the MVP.

I just, it doesn't look good for the Lakers. Tomorrow's headline today. I've watched them about six, seven times. I watched them last night. What's the Bucks? Second half of the season. Everybody loves the bucks. I know.

They got a little lucky last year, but the Greek freak Janice, oh boy, the headline will be. Greek gets freaky with hardware. I think Janice is going to win the MVP. A lot of people have Joel Embed or Yolkich. It's got to be Janus. If you look at the stats, Janice leads the league in scoring, leads the league in almost every stat that matters. He's inches above Embed.

And I just want to add this. This would be Janice's third MVP in four years, Colin. How old is he, 25? 27. Third MVP. I think Larry Bird has three. Kobe only had one. Tim Duncan had two.

We forget, like Janus in the last few years has made such a quantum leap. And no Brooke Lopez. He's really carrying this team. I don't know that they're going to get back to the finals. Everybody really loves them. Oh, the Bucks are killing. They beat the Lakers by 30. Like, just remember, there's a team that got lucky last year.

Kyrie Irving goes down in the playoff series. They were getting smoked by the Nets, and they come back and get the lucky win. I think the Bucks don't make it to the championship, but Janus, MVP of the league. Disagree? Well, I think they're good. I think champions come back the next year, and you can't ask Milwaukee, a very good defensive team. I even noticed it last night. They'll ratchet up their intensity defensively.

Okay, I'll tell you who's coming out of the east in a minute. We'll get there. Tomorrow's headlines today, the new Brooklyn Nets second half, push refresh with this roster. Oh, yeah, a little refresh action, Colin. I love the Nets. You know I'm in the tank for Ben Simmons. The headline will be never been there, but KD.

Volts Nets. I have just bet the Nets to get to the finals, win the championship. Colin, I know you think I'm going overboard. Just consider this. Healthy Nets, right? KD, by the way, has missed like 25 games. Joe Harris is missed like 40. Don't mock Joe Harris.

Olympian, great shooter. You can shoot. You tell me, Seth Curry, by the way, is such a sneaky good addition. Colin, look back last year. when they lost to the Hawks. Seth Curry was the second best player on the Sixers. He is an awesome addition. Kyrie Irving and it sounds like the mandate stuff's going to go away in New York shortly.

So you're talking about KD, Ben Simmons, Kyrie, your guy, Patty Mills, Joe Harris. This team is absolutely loaded. And this is not going to be a popular take, but Ben Simmons is actually a better fit than James Hardin was. You know, I think that you could certainly make that argument. Because Hardin and Kyrie are similar. I need the ball to create. I need the ball. Ben Simmons is just going to be on the block.

I will distribute. I'll hit the open shooter. I think Ben Simmons is going to be a great fit. I think he gets over the whole free throw thing. We forget. Janice, two years ago, people were counting to 10 when he was at the foul line because he was so bad. Ben Simmons will be fine, everybody. The Nets are going to the finals, Colin.

Take it to the bank. Oh, boy. Tomorrow's headlines today, my sixers. What's the headline second half of the season? You know, I moved here. You got me out of Pennsylvania. I did. I said six years ago.

Better life. They don't love me in Pennsylvania because of my Joel and B takes. The headline will be new process, same results. I'm sorry, Sixers fans. They're not going anywhere in the playoffs, Colin. James Hardin and Embed, they're only going to get about 20 games together. I know Embedd's great, right? He's been fantastic.

But the fit with Hardin is going to be clunky. These are two guys who need the ball, ball dominant, ball stoppers. Let me see how it goes when James Hardin is told, go stand in the corner. Joel Embedd's going to create. You'll get threes. I mean, this is a guy James Hardin who has not worked with Dwight Howard, did not work with Chris Paul, Russell Westbrook.

It just doesn't fit with anybody hard and a great talent. It's just not going to work with M.B. And I feel a little bit bad for Joelle because he's been really a phenomenal player. I mean, remember, he missed like his first two full seasons in the league with injuries. And now he's playing great and they're just not going anywhere. Sorry, Sixers fans, not happening. All right. Tomorrow's headlines today.

You know, the Warriors are interesting. That Jonathan Cumminga. Bootsy. All the bunny eerie. All the bunny emojis for Klinga. Now, Clay's not shooting it particularly well, but what's the headline? Yeah, the Warriors, you guys know, I'm a Steph Curry guy. The headline will be SPF 23.

Dremont Defends Warriors from Sons. You like that headline? I like that. Draymond Green, since he went out, the Warriors have kind of taken a step back. They can't stop anybody. He was having a great year. Phenomenal year. They're resting him when he comes back defensively.

They match up great with the Phoenix Suns. Draymond Green matches up phenomenally with Aiton. I think the Warriors are the best team in the West Cullen. Now they've sagged back their number two seed right now. Memphis is a little bit young. I know we like John Morant, but this is a team with Curry, Clay, even Andrew Wiggins, the All-Star starter, Coominga. He's a great three.

It's a great fit, right? You know, a lot of people in sports love to talk about what somebody is. I like to focus on what they can be. Andrew Wiggins in Minnesota, he's not a number one. It's not a good fit. He's now with number three. And he's a great three. Perfect.

So you've got to put people in position. to succeed in Wiggins fits. James Wiseman, right? He was a top five-pick. Now, he's coming back. He's coming back. This is a big guy who can help. Draymond. The kid, Jordan Poole. I mean, he's a phenomenal score coming off the bench. This is a great Warriors team. I'm telling you guys, Draymond

comes back. Golden State's the team to beat in the end. I'll tell you, the Phoenix Golden State Series. Oh, wow. That is a seven-gamer. Yeah. I take Phoenix. I love the construct of Phoenix so much. I just everything, the culture, they're like an old school point guard.

They got a guy that can go back to the bat. DeAndre Aiton doesn't think he's a three-point shooter. Devin Booker with the mid-range. I know you're an 80s NBA guy. You love mid-rangers. I like it now, but I think they feel like an old-school team, and I think Phoenix would beat Golden State. All right.

Tomorrow's headlines today. Zion Williamson, what's the headline second half of the season? This is a tough one, you know. Talking to your producer, should we do Zion? It's a little sad. You know, he's overweight. He's injured. The headline will be Zion.

will be worth the weight. Sorry, we had to get the little weight pun in there. Kyle, I think Zion's going to come back better than ever now. I know people are totally out on him. He's checked out on New Orleans. He doesn't want to play there. Get him to the Knicks to save his career. Let's just remember what Zion was in New Orleans.

Probably the best low post score in the NBA since Jack. No, he was breaking wilt scoring efficiency record. That's how effective he was in the post. Now, obviously, the weight is a bit of an issue. Sure. and, you know, the eating in New Orleans. But I just wonder, the organization is a bit of a mess. The front office stinks.

They fire the coach. They're making some trades. You know, is he going to get excited to come back and play with CJ McCollum? I keep hearing Knicks and Zion. Here's my question. What can the Knicks give them? Well, first of all, they can get rid of Tibido, who it sounds like he's toast. Tibino has really worked his way out of New York.

They don't love him. He grinds players into dust. Basically, the Knicks can just say, we'll give you whatever you want. for Zion, right? Julius Randall, future number ones. Is that not enough? If I'm the Pelicans, there's, you know... But he doesn't want to be there. We just saw Ben Simmons with four years on his

contract get out of Philly. I don't want to play with you guys. I'm sitting out, and Ben Simmons gets to the nets to play with KD. This is a Star League, Colin. We know that. Stars get what they want. Zion's done. He's done in New Orleans. Yeah. You know, I was a Zion over John Morant guy, because as I said yesterday, if you look at the history

of the league, it took... Magic's the best point guard I've ever seen. Then there's about five guys after it, you can argue. I probably put Steph Curry. I love Chris Paul. Took him like 16 years to get to the finals. John Wall never got there. Westbrook. If you, Iverson, they can get there. But small guys

don't lead you to titles. Magic's the greatest is point guard. He's six, eight and a half. Yeah. So I mean, to me, if you give me two great players, Zion, to me, I get rebounding, I get presents, I get dunks, I get blocks. I But I also thought, and we knew this going in, we talked about weight and we talked about torque. I had a GM said, told me, said, I would take Zion knowing 30% bus chance due to injury.

But his upside was, we saw it for about a year. It was so magnificent. Now, people have compared him to Greg Oden with the injuries. But I think, you know, Greg Oden was a seven, what, seven foot one. Remember him out of Ohio State? But Zion is a different player than him. He's dominant in a low post offensively. This guy who puts up 25, like wakes out of a,

wakes up, goes on the court, 25 points in a drop of a hat. It's nothing. All right. What do you make of the, Chris Mortons had said Carson Wentz is bleak. Bob Kravitz, a respected journalist, columnist said, Good is gone. Now, he admits, he said, I don't have this sourced. Cravitz wouldn't write that column.

So you know how this works, right? We see this in sports media and NBA. Once it's talked about, it's already done behind the scenes. Like there is a deal in place somewhere for somebody. They don't put this out there that we're done with Wence unless they have an answer behind him, right? Because Wence wasn't awful last year, right? He's top 18 quarterback maybe. But I want the question, Colin is.

He had the game winning touchdown against Arizona. He was very good against Baltimore, toe-to-to-to-tow Tampa, toe-to-to-Rams, beat the bills. So who are they replacing him with? The guys that come up to mind, Jimmy Garapolo, who I like better than Wenz. And then Teddy Bridgewater is on the fringe. But Bridgewater is not a great talent. and he's a game manager. I'd rather take Wentz for a year than sign Garoppolo for two to three.
