I think that's all the housekeeping
and so we can talk about
every now and then sports
gives you just one of those highlights
and I feel like that Marvin Harrison
Jr. catch
I mean, I don't know, I don't really even know what to say about it,
but I just wanted to talk about it because I sent it to the group chat and all three of us were,
I feel like we're looking at it like it was a different species of person.
Like, what the fuck is going on here?
It didn't make sense.
Like, that body part doesn't go there.
You know what I mean?
Like, it was crazy.
Shit looked like a Picasso painting, man.
That was an abstract rendering.
That was not something the fucking human body should be able to do, bro.
Right, right, right.
All three of us are old, and I wanted to ask you guys, when you watch the video clip,
which part of your body started hurting first, just watching it?
My groin.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking about, too.
The hammy, the hammy, I felt a little bit in my hammy too.
That's what the weird thing about watching sports that people don't talk about when you get old.
You feel certain things that, like, he didn't feel anything.
He's young.
It doesn't matter.
You know what I mean?
People land, like, jumping, playing basketball.
And I'm like, ooh, how do they do that?
You know what I mean?
Like basic layups.
I can feel it in my knees now.
Crazy.
Yeah, I felt it in my knee.
When he,
the catching,
jumping as high as you can and catching yourself on one foot in a full knee bed,
full deep seat knee bend.
My left knee that I got,
I've had tendonitis in my left knee for like basically my whole life.
It just started throbbing.
Being old is wild,
bro.
We get hurt if they don't.
get hurt. You know what I mean? Like, we're still like, bro, I would have got crap. Bro, come on.
I heard, like, my knees and shit cracking doing that shit. You know what I mean? Wow.
Hell of a catch, though. Jesus. Unbelievable catch. I, uh, I was playing basketball with some friends
not long ago and our friend popped his Achilles just sliding. Just like it just trying to be in
a defensive stance. You know what I mean? Oh, he was just like, he was just moving and then he just,
you know, hopped up on one leg like someone
has shot him in the foot. And it's just like...
Can you actually hear an Achilles pop?
Because people say that they've heard that
shit, which is scary as fuck. Like from
outside or people have said they've heard their Achilles pop?
Yeah, I think people say that they've heard
their shit pop. I think they probably
felt it and it sounded
like the feeling made them hear some... Your brain was just
trying to process what happened or something.
I mean, the same... Go ahead. Go ahead.
Well, I do know, I mean, like,
like, KD's obviously
was one of the more sort of
like grotesque you know like like it was so clear what it happened but i know um i've heard from
physios like you can it they snap hard enough because they're so tight it really is like a
snap with that tendon in particular people can injure their calves like you can injure your muscles
just off of the strength of the ricochet off of that shit snapping doesn't it go up to like your
hamstring when it snaps like it's it's it's not like it's just like dangling right next to each other
I think it's like, you know what I mean?
Yeah, so.
And listen.
I remember that shit with KD.
Like he had a cap strain and everyone was like,
you don't want to play with that that can lead to an Achilles there.
And that's exactly what the fuck happened.
I mean, your muscle strain, your calf strain,
you're putting more pressure on Achilles.
You know what I'm saying?
One thing's not working right.
Something else picks up on it.
Achilles not the thing.
You know what I'm saying for you to play with for sure.
Here's my, here's some washed advice for everyone
because I've had like foot and heel issues for the last,
I don't know, a couple of years.
And one of the old dudes at the baseball field, older dude, excuse me, at the baseball field
where I coach Vinny's team at, he's like a, he's older.
He's like in his late 50s, and he runs a lot.
Like he still runs like 30 miles a week or something.
And I literally said to him, I was like, man, I tried to run like two miles last week
and my feet hurt forever afterwards.
And he like pulled me aside and was like, let me tell you the secret of getting old.
And I was like, okay.
And he was like, you just got to stretch for 10 or 15 minutes every day, your legs.
And I was like, what?
And he was like, all the pain you're having in your feet is from the tightness of your leg muscles pulling up on all that shit.
So he was like, I stretch my calves and my hamstrings every day, like stretch them a lot.
And he's like, I've never had any problems ever.
And I've been stretching my calves and hamstrings religiously since then.
It's the first time that my shit has not hurt.
So that's my old person advice.
Your calves and your hamstrings, I go ahead and do the rest of my legs too.
But I do think that tightness, because we still have muscle in our legs, like if you just aren't,
working out, you lose some of your muscle mass in your upper body.
But we still, you still have the muscles in your legs.
They just get tight.
You know what I mean?
So there's my advice.
Try it out, Jenkins and Jones listeners.
This is your Amazon AMP exclusive fitness advice for aging males.
Make sure you stretch when you eat your bowl of great nuts in the morning.
When I told my up until the chin and I started, I started stretching a lot of metamuse for
day on G.
I might need tap in with that though.
I've heard good things.
But, uh, I'm all that.
Fiber shit, bro.
The fiber feels has changed your life.
And the AG1 been holding me down, bro.
I'm like clockwork now, Bubba.
You know what I'm saying?
Facts.
But shout out to Athletic Greens.
What, slash J&J.
Do we still have that?
I don't know.
They need to re-up, though,
because I want another free batch of that shit.
That shit's fire.
But when I told my Patel of Tendant,
I started stretching a lot.
That helped me out a lot for sure.
You know what I'm saying?
Like I would just jump out there in who,
or just work out without even really warming up like that.
You get older you can't do that shit.
So, yeah.
stretching out stretching has been you know i even got a little little the little machina to loosen
up my muscles and shit oh you got one of those yeah man i forget what it's called but i just called the
do-doo the ones the the ones that look like the gun they're like yeah pass the do dodo gun yeah
does that work yeah man it loosens you up it feels good it feels good man gets out of knots out of you
and stuff like that can i tell you a racial bias of mine is that when i see fitness ads featuring
white people i assume it's a scam
Why is that?
I don't know.
It just feels like,
maybe I shouldn't have said that,
but I just,
depending on how the ads are served up to me,
I'm like,
yeah,
right.
I'd be like,
yeah,
right.
Maybe for you,
you're trying to get my $200 out of me
for the doo-doo gun.
Not me,
no, sir.
Not your boy.
If Michael Jordan had said that shit helps him
as he's getting older,
I would have cop two of them already.
Got one for 502
for the future,
you know what I'm saying?
Yeah, those shit's work, though.
They work.
They work.
They're good.
I have one last thing to say about the Marvin Harrison catch,
and I'm going to not include any name so as to protect the guilty.
But I sent you all a picture of some of my homies.
Saturday night.
I mean, occasionally, like, I think if you're at a bar and you see someone trying to get into a fight
with a group of Samoan people, that man thinks he's hurt.
Hercules in his head.
Like, he thinks he's going to do all 12 trials right there, and it never goes well, bro.
This is important of having a diverse group of friends because somebody in that friend
who I said, no, like, yo, them ain't the ones, dog.
He didn't have the friend to tell him, my nigger.
No, it never ends up the way you want.
There's Samoan.
Samoan people are the only people who don't get worse at fighting when they get drunk.
You know what I mean?
bro, stop it, dog.
Those aren't the ones.
And they're not, dog.
And he didn't have that homie, bro.
No.
So they posted on their stories, like a couple of my friends posted an image of this dude outside.
He looked like a chalk.
He looked like the light.
You know, like in Martin, when somebody would fall, they had the chalk line where it's like body parts don't bend that way.
Yeah.
His body, he looked like that.
Like he looked like somebody like the fake-ass chalked out.
drawings.
He was flipped and flopped.
That nigga punched him and that
nigger turned inside out, bro.
He was like one of the doodle games,
but you know what I mean?
Right.
But I said it to y'all and Tyler said
they turned that man to Marvin Harrison,
Jr.
For real.
For real.
That did not look like it was supposed to be there.
That's supposed to be over here, bro.
And that motherfucker was hell of slew foot.
Bro, you are sleep-sleep.
If your feet is putting out.
This way, dog.
You feel me?
No.
And we see the bottom of your shoe,
and your shoe isn't pointing up.
It's pointing.
It's pointing sideways.
Your feet are pointing north and south.
You know what I mean?
East and west, bro.
Like, the exact opposite way?
Bro.
That's crazy.
That's right.
That's right.
He was dummy sleep.
Goodness gracious.
The head and body angle, too, was wild, too.
You know what I mean?
It's like the neck was on the shoulder instead of like in the middle of them.
You know what I mean?
He was kind of putting himself in a headlock.
No, he needed to hit his chiropractor ASAP, no.
Get him real life.
For real.
You should, like, if you try and fight Samoans at a bar, you should be mandated to go to
AA for like six months.
You know what I mean?
Like, you have, like, I don't know anything about this, dude.
But you have a drinking problem if you're trying to fight Samoans to the bar.
I'm telling you straight off the fucking.
I'm just like, nigga, bro, do you know what time it is?
You hit rock body.
Everybody will understand, too.
Everybody understands, you just kind of like chill out walk.
We all know what time it is, man.
It's never ended up well.
You know what I mean?
I've never heard a person called a pussy for not fighting Samoans.
You know what I mean?
Not a single time.
Not a single time.
All I hear is, like, bro, they're Simone.
That's all you got to say.
Bro, them hand, they got the hands of God, my jeep.
I ain't never seen one lose a fight.
Never.
Have you ever, have you ever seen one?
Nope.
I guess, oh, man.
And I, hey, look, bro, growing up in Long Beach, you see, like, I've seen, like,
one of my friends in high school, you fight seven people.
And these are not little people.
It's just like, you can't get around on one of them.
Even, no, but even the, even the, even the, the, the,
the, the, um, the, the, um, the, the, um, the, the,
shoulders that look like a shelf.
Even the small, like, the regular size, you know what I mean?
They still punch, like, you know,
I mean?
For sure.
Like Thor,
nigger.
Like,
I've seen them cook.
I'm like,
niggas
don't make no sense,
bro.
It's just a difference.
It's different.
It's different.
Hercules put down the feats.
You know,
you don't need to,
whatever you're trying to prove,
you don't need to prove it,
bro.
You don't.
It ain't worth it.
It definitely ain't worth it.
No, sir.
All right.
I want to talk about Lucas
42 point triple double,
and I want to specifically talk about
Jason Kidd as like my,
favorite quote so far this basketball season he said oh it was a nice little walk in the park
42 point triple double that's crazy man can you imagine being so good at basketball that your
coach is like laughing about how easy it is for you to score a 42 point triple double in the NBA
um i think a lot i know i for sure was wrong about jason kid right like i did not think that he was the
right guy to pair of luka after he i felt like it was a failed experiment when he had yonis i was like
why are you trusting, you know, the future of your franchise, the future of this league, perhaps,
you know, to a guy who just fumbled the fuck out of yonis.
But Jason Kidd, man, I think that he's got a really good read on Luca.
Like, I really, like, I remember last year during the playoffs when he, you know, criticized
Luca's defense without really throwing him under the bus.
He was like, you know, Luke and I have had these conversations that, you know, to take that
next step, he's got to, you know, commit to defense too.
You know what I mean?
And I was like, you know, you can hold your guy accountable without shitting on them.
You know, I love that about Jason K.
But, but, you know, going to Luca, that motherfucker.
That motherfucker.
My God.
My God.
He is unreal, bro.
Like, I mean, top five in the league this season right now, for sure.
You know, MVP, you know, chasing that.
I feel like he's been chasing the MVP ever since his second year, though.
But, yeah, Luke a bad boy, man.
I mean, dog, I mean, it almost is a walk in a park based on you look at this, like, the numbers he's been putting up all year.
Like, it's just another Luca night.
I mean, that's crazy.
42 points of a double for sure.
But I mean, like, dude, he's averaging 36.
36 a game, dog.
Like, I mean, just the average.
87 MJ shit.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, this shit is crazy.
And he's like, maybe third in MVP.
Like, there's some, like, Janus is fucking bawling his head.
And Stap has been looking like a god these last three or four games.
It's fucking scary.
Yeah.
And then Tatum's going crazy too.
You know what I mean?
Like, Tatum's averaging 31, 32.
and it's like, you know, we'll squeeze him into the conversation.
It's crazy.
It's been a crazy year so far.
Luca is now number six all time in NBA history in 40-point triple doubles,
and he is 23 years old still.
We knew it's going to be different this year, though,
because he looked in shape.
Like, you know, Lucas is a type of dude that plays himself in shape,
and he was, like, during Eurobasket, he was, like, you know,
staying in shape for that, looking incredible than that.
So I knew it was going to be a different year.
I mean, I knew he's going to, I mean, every year he hasn't had a bad year in the league yet, obviously.
But I thought, I thought, like, he's coming.
There's no playing into, like, he is coming fully ready game one.
You know what I'm saying?
We're going to see mid-season Luca.
And we have.
He's been crazy.
Yeah, you know, better than, better than I expected.
I never really, you know, piled on Luca for the whole playing himself in his shape thing.
I guess the concern is you don't want, you know, weight contributing to possible injuries there.
But the reason I'm fine with Luca being.
being a big boy is he does not mind throwing his weight around.
That motherfucker loves going to the post.
Like we saw him body bowl bowl this season
and hit bowl bowl with the two little.
And that motherfucker got like two feet on Luca, right?
So, so yeah, you know, like Luca is, you know,
he's a big boy, he's a chubby boy,
but he doesn't mind throwing that weight around
to get a bucket.
And like I said, if you're going to be, you know, big,
you know, if you're going to be a big boy,
you know, throw that motherfucker wait around like Luca does.
I love it.
I mean, part of what's so crazy to me about Janus
is when you look at, you look at Joker
or you look at Luca being from Slovenia,
usually if someone comes from that kind of a background
and you get them rich, they're going to be a little bit fat.
You know what I mean?
Like, it's just no, it's just, no, but I think that's psychologically,
it's just no way to be like,
I'm going to stick to a rigorous nutrition plan.
It's like, hey, I can afford to buy fucking nice steak every night.
You know what I mean?
That's part of what's so crazy about Janus.
And some of that has got to be metabolic because...
Oh, for sure.
No doubt.
Because he talks about still, he's like, he's like,
he eased back on.
on the on the Oreos.
But when he eats them,
he eats 70 at a time.
Bro, instead of eating like the 50 McNugget,
he'll eat the 30,
you know what I'm saying?
Or some shit,
like,
and just rip the shreds.
But it's hard to spread all of that
across a seven foot body
with like,
what,
a seven,
six wingspan.
You know what I mean?
Like,
how do you eat to spread,
you know,
that's just crazy.
Joker could do it,
though.
I'm just,
you know what I mean?
Like,
you can be a big,
you can be tall
and still be a big boy.
Yeah.
What were you about to say?
You were about to say something you didn't want to say.
I was just,
I'm just wondering what his work.
I mean,
I know he lifts weights and shit.
I'm just wondering what it looks like.
Yonis doesn't,
no,
no,
no, Joker.
You know what I'm saying?
Like,
you know,
like Yonis lifts weights like,
that's part of the job.
Joker has that Wilson fist.
He has a Wilson Fisk fucking workout plan, bro.
He's just lifting heavy shit around him.
You know what I mean?
Yeah,
yeah,
yeah, yeah.
But that's that real street, though.
That's that real street, though.
You know what I'm saying?
They're like wrestlers, like they're moving shit that is trying not to be moved.
That's totally different than me getting up and just bench pressing,
reffing 225.
You know what I mean?
Like, if you can move a human that's literally fighting against being moved.
Right.
That's a different type of strength than just being in the gym throwing weight around.
You know what I'm saying?
Joker got to America and the trainer told him, this is how you lift to build mass
and this is how you lift a tone.
And he like laughed at the toning.
He was like, what's the point of that?
That's just for the way it looks.
Right, right.
Get some fucking out of here.
Right.
I'm a millionaire.
I don't need looks.
I'm a God-level basketball player, bro.
Fuck a ab.
You feel me?
I'm going to just cook these boys.
I want to, okay, we got to talk about the, in between our last record and this one,
the NBA released the City Edition jerseys.
John, I enjoyed your bucket's content about the City Edition jersey.
We don't got to go through all of them, but I did want to talk about the Hornets one.
Who did that?
Who did the fuck approve that?
Who does that?
Had a big all-cap CLT on the front.
Bro.
It's just,
and I don't know why they keep doing these.
They're nothing.
They hit the mark like three out of,
you know,
like there's maybe three teams a year to hit the mark.
You know what I'm saying?
The gris ones are tough,
and that's probably the only ones.
Grizzly's cool,
you know what I'm saying?
But like, you know, like Cream City,
the fuck type of shit is that.
Someone said the Warriors,
city jerseys look like a mag
No rapper.
Dude she's just got a big-ass rolls on the bottom.
What is that even?
Why?
I don't know the significance of that.
Maybe some of our Bay Area fam can weigh in,
but I don't know what the fucking rolls is about.
Quality control was crazy with that big clit shit, though, man.
Jesus Christ.
My buddy was like, it's easy to miss.
I'm like, maybe for you, bro, ham.
Maybe for you, my God.
And the fact that the best.
player on their roster's last name is ball.
Like, are you just trying to make
all of us turn into middle schoolers with this
jersey? And he had that jersey on looking
like, fuck. They really got me wearing
this weak-ass shit. Clip-ball.
Clip-ball jersey.
Which is.
God.
Yeah.
Not the best, not the best
ideas. And then also, I hear people
like trying to break down, like, explaining
what the artistically
where they came from. Like, uh, well, the
shit just weak. How about that?
Like, you know, it's like, you know, we did this because
of this. Just make something
aesthetically pleasing. I don't give
a fuck about all of this, like,
this thought they went into, if it doesn't
look, it's not a good design. Right.
It represents the freeway that runs from the
practice facility to the arena. That should
not be on a fucking jersey.
You know what I'm saying? Like, it's just,
it's just like, dog, like, it doesn't look good
or not. And the end of the day is what matters.
And so, cool thought and insight
that went into certain shit. But if it
doesn't look cool.
Fuck it.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
Just bring back the fucking Alonza morning Larry Johnson era pinstriped jerseys, bro.
Those motherfuckers were clean.
Like, we do not need to make clit jerseys.
I'm right.
Also, yes, for sure.
Ball doesn't look bad on the back of a big bumblebee on the front of that motherfucker.
You know, a big hornet, whatever the fuck.
You know what I'm saying?
But like purple hornet.
Anyway, that's it.
But I just don't know.
Like, dude, and even with the Grizzies jerseys jerseys, they're cool.
But I would, I would much.
I would much rather have the throwback Grizzly's jersey with John's name on the bat.
You know what I mean?
By far.
You know what I mean?
So it's not even not even close.
So yeah, man.

Right. No, no, no. I'm like, I'm the type of dude that I'll see a, I remember my mom's, I remember a statement of my mom said what she's like, there was a press break. They broke her without, without dribbling the ball. And she was like, damn, John. She was like, because I said it right before the commentator said it. It's like, damn, John. And I would do that at a time. She was like, I think you're going to do something with this one day. You feel me, whatever. I would see, I become a commentator. That shit is difficult as fuck. And I'm not built for that shit in any way, shape or form. You feel me? But I love shit like.
that. You know, I mean, I love seeing, I don't want to watch, you know, motion offense, you know,
back screen reads, all that. I don't like that, but I do like the thought of people, you know what I'm
saying, you know, an efficient offense. Moving as a unit. Yeah, yes, but also,
peek them niggas up and get in their shit, you feel me, and it's a rap. You know what I'm saying?
He started nothing on themselves. Them type of niggas can't really oop, bro. You feel me? So,
I don't think it's hard to beat a team like that.
Pressure the fucking ball once.
Pressure the fucking ball.
You know what I'm saying?
Make them barf all over that bitch
and they'll be turning that hole over.
They're not hoopers, bro.
They're fucking robots out there
running a fucking, you know what I'm saying?
Like they're playing basketball
like it's not basketball.
Make them play basketball
instead of doing a fucking,
you know, running a fucking,
it's like they're doing math out there.
They're not hooping, you feel me?
I think those teams get easily cooked, you know,
over time.
You know, they start falling apart.
They just didn't put no pressure on the fucking ball.
It's some Bull Connor ass basketball, like I said.
You know, I love seeing good movement.
I love seeing, you know, a team that swings the ball,
but not dribbling just feels gimmicky.
You know what I mean?
It just feels like, you know,
this is the way, the right boomer-ass way to play.
So I'm not buying into that shit.
But, no.
I had to coach my freshman year, Coach Bradshaw,
where he was a Bobby Knight fucking, like, he worshipped this motherfucker.
Oh, really?
Coach Bradshaw, like Bobby Nagra.
And he's still.
I still fuck coach Bradshaw, you feel me?
He had niggas, right, taking notes.
There was sweat dripping off my face,
taking notes after fucking practice, bro.
I went to JV, was dropping 20 a game on JV,
and he would barely let me play on the freshman team, dog.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, dude, they had this niggas name Clint Hovis playing over me.
You know what I mean?
Because Clint would play out of triple threat.
I get in the fucking game, get the ball, see a nigger that was a bum in front of me,
jab step around a bucket.
He pulled me out that it's not within the offense.
Bitch, it was a bucket.
So if you think I like that basketball, hell no.
I'm still mad at this big age about that motherfucker and how he played a nigga at 15.
Fuck that nigga and fuck that type of basketball.
You know what I'm saying?
Like I said, I do like people moving at a unit and all that shit, bro.
But that whole, you know, that extra fucking no pet, no dribble, you know what I'm saying?
Triple threat, triple threat ass shit.
Get that shit to fuck out my face, dog.
Godly.
Anyway.
Roll credits.
And that young boy grew up to be Legerthera Jenkins and that young basketball coach Bradshaw grew up to be Mick Cronin.
All right.
Fuck that nigga too.
Thanks.
Y'all would enjoy the way that my friends and I are coaching Vinny's nine-year-old basketball team.
We're having a lot of fun, bro.
We're in a two, three.
Everyone in the league is playing in a two, three,
but we're in a fucking matchup two, three.
These motherfucking see kids actually come put hands on them
and they don't know what the fuck to do.
You know what I mean?
He had white parents complaining about, like, dude.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
Like, the niggas that was hooping and shit was like fucking,
but though, he had, like, get this fucker to fuck out of here.
This is too bad boy for my old country white ass.
You know what I mean?
I don't know nobody like that type of basketball for real, bro.
All right.
It's time to capital T, capital A, capital T, talk about a tweet.
Is this a segment now?
It's going to be my new segment when I've allowed Tyler's timeline to do my show prep.
T-A-A-T time, you feel me.
Time to do-do-do-do-do-do-to-to-to talk about a tweet.
I'm just trying to find the exact fucking shit, Tyler,
posted, but we don't actually need the language.
Someone, someone says something about
how do I, you know, how do you
tell your significant other that you don't care
about their work stories or something? And Tyler
quote tweeted, as often is the
case, exactly what I wanted to say. He already
had 2,000 retweet. So I didn't need to say anything.
I just retweeted it. But
you said something along the lines
of, you hate your wife's
work enemies more than she does.
And I have never related to one of your tweets
more. Bro, bro.
Homie said, how do I tell
my girl that I don't care about her work beef.
I saw that too like, what type of, who the fuck?
What?
What type of nigger is this?
What did it make you at?
You did the Scooby-Doo noise on your phone.
Who's this digger?
No, I can not understand that.
Yeah, because I legit hate my wife's work enemies more than she does.
She has to reel me in all the time.
Like, I'm ready to go suit as she says a motherfucker's name.
Like, she'd be like, let me tell you what Lisa did today.
I'd be like, motherfucker, Lisa.
She'd be like, relax, nice.
Like, like, no, bro, if it's like, dog, like, if you do not get along with my wife, I hate you.
You know what I'm saying?
It's deep.
It's on site, dog.
One thing is like, rather will explain.
Like, I'm like, no, but also fuck that nigger too, right?
You know what I'm saying?
Like, you know, like, also fuck that nigga.
Don't forget fuck that nigger.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, she would, like, try to talk, talk, like, you know, be reasonable and all that shit.
I'm like, nah, man.
Like, fuck that.
Shaw does the same thing.
Her central power is seeing the world from other people's perspective.
And I'm a very empathetic person.
But it's like, no, no, no.
But this is someone at your work who did the minors thing to annoy you.
Fuck them for, I like.
But also fuck them.
You could tell me tomorrow someone came to work and beat him up.
He got hit by a car running away.
And I'd be like, mm-hmm.
That's right.
That's what he gets.
See you in hell.
Right.
Shitting of CCed her boss.
Hate it wasn't me, nigga.
You know, like that time.
Wish it was
shouldn't a C-C
their fucking shit.
Should a C-C in her boss.
What the fucking get?
R-R-I-P.
Oh, bro.
That's that whole shit.
Nigger.
That's that whole shit.
You know what I mean?
Oh, I hate her.
Ooh.
All right.
It doesn't surprise me
we're all on the same page
about that shit.
But that tweet cracked me.
I'm trying to get rather to have that
fuck them gene.
You know what I mean?
I'm trying to build that in her a little bit more.
You know what I mean?
I feel like she's so kind
and always, like,
I said being reasonable.
I'm like, yo, but fuck them.
It's okay.
Sometimes it's fuck them.
You know what I mean?
Sometimes it needs to be fucking.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
And it doesn't even come from a place of anger most of time.
It's come from a place of dismissal.
Like, you know, like, yeah.
If you fuck them also, that, that liberates you from being angry.
Exactly.
I'm just, fuck them.
Fuck them.
You know what I mean?
I don't have to care about nothing.
It goes on with that nigga.
Fuck that nigga.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
It feels good.
I don't think I can instill, I don't think I could impart that.
to Sharr, but I've successfully imparted it to the kids to some extent already, and that is a
like top three parenting goal for me. Yes. Because I got that directly handed to me from my mom.
Right. When she saw me at any certain amount of stress level about anything, it could be school,
it could be something I was working on that I really cared about. She would hit that thing and just
look me that, you know, that mom eye contact to the back of your school. Fuck it. None of it is
worth it. Like, fuck your teacher. Fuck your friends. Fuck the girl. Like what you know what I mean?
whatever it is.
Like you just,
and that she,
she put that deep enough
in my heart that I have that reaction.
Like if I'm stressed enough
about anything,
not like disengage,
whatever,
but just like,
hey,
I got to remember,
fuck them,
you know?
It's a way of releasing yourself
from the connection of the shit.
Like,
it's a release,
like,
and it's not just like,
I physically feel better
because I got fuck out.
You know what I mean?
Like,
it's more like,
fuck him.
You know,
I'm just detaching myself
completely from the fuck shit.
You could have it.
You know what I mean?
It's, like I said, it's liberating, man.
A good old fuck him.
Good old fucking.
It's your long way, Bubba.
You know what I mean?
There's nothing like a good old fucker.
You know what I can't?
My mom looking at me like, you're saying, like looking at the best.
Fuck them, John.
Fuck them.
Okay.
It's fuck him.
All right.
Now it's time for capital T, capital A, capital T.
Talk about Twitter, which I feel like we're probably going to be doing for the next.
little while at least.
I thought it was like the most adorable thing in the world that everyone was like.
It was like grad night.
It was like grad night on Twitter on Thursday or Friday last week.
Everyone was saying goodbye and like, we're going to stay in touch.
I'm going to miss these people.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
How are you?
So first of all, like my stance on it is I think Twitter might go bankrupt.
I think all kinds of things might happen.
I think the FTC might, you know, force Elon to make some kind of changes.
I do not personally foresee a world, nor does I think any of the kind of like financial reporting
I've seen on Twitter where the website just shuts down and like we wake up and the shit's gone.
So I'm operating from that perspective.
I understand that perspective is the minority one on Twitter.com at the moment.
But how are you all feeling about Twitter and where things are and, you know, like I said,
the grad night festivities last week?
bro i'm i'm very much in the camp that this shit could end because Elon like you know like i told
you the FTC shit is the shit that concerned me the most and what concerned me the most about
that is the team that was on hand with with Twitter like you know everything from the C suite
employees to that whole department of like six employees they all quit bro they all resign like
this shit is unsavageable the shit you're doing with verifying everyone is going to get fucking
and, you know, fines levied on us from the FTC and shit.
And we saw how they tank that Eli Lilly stock with the insulin tweet by like $8 billion, right?
So you know for sure some lawsuits are coming, you know, to Twitter in Elon's way.
So that's what concerned me the most is the whole, you know, what's federal commissions and shit start coming down to you?
Bro, it might be a rap.
I mean, I don't, I feel like it may go bankrupt.
I feel like it'll be a horrible place to work.
You know what I mean?
It went from a place that people seem to enjoy and had it like a,
a certain level of, you know,
felt a certain level of respect when they said they worked at Twitter,
you know what I mean?
True.
I don't think that's it anymore.
I feel like from our experience,
we won't see many differences as far as like, you know, like,
just using the platform.
I think behind the scenes it's going to be a fucking mess, though.
But yeah, I just, I don't know if it'll, I don't,
I mean, maybe the platform won't feel the same as like,
him being such a big part of this and all this turmoil
makes the platform not as enjoyable, you know what I'm saying, from a, you know, like, worrying about, like, where it's going place, space.
But as far as, you know, the content he's bringing us is been incredible.
I feel sad for the state of Twitter, the content.
But the content has been insane.
We cannot ignore that.
There's been some incredible, it's like weeks, ever since he, he's signed, every since the fucking ink dried,
they've been dogging his ass out and it's been a blast to see that but yeah um
I think part of what's been it's definitely been like the last couple weeks to me have been
a couple of the funniest weeks I've been on Twitter and like part of it for me is when Twitter's
at its best everyone does there is that feeling of like we're all on a like deranged pirate ship
together right there is that like sense of community and I have been so pleasantly surprised by
how many people were willing to spend $8 and sacrifice their Twitter account for a joke that
they will never get credit for making.
You know what I mean?
Like the people who are like doing the Coca-Cola, Eli Lilly impersonations, when Tyler makes
a funny joke, we know is Tyler.
And he, you know, you're an anonymous Twitter in many ways.
So like your name isn't on it or whatever.
But it's like, oh, that's fucking like, DFJZ, baby.
That's what he does.
He did it again, you know?
But like the people who are nukes.
their accounts to do these like fake verified things we'll never know who that was like that might
have been jabuki's third account for you know you know we're seeing people with like a hundred and
18 followers do that though it might be ever so often like a big account you know what i'm saying but very
seldomly but you know the people with 118 followers on twitter they know every one of those followers
like that shit is like a lot of those people take that shit very seriously and to see so many
people like lining up to be like I'll throw $8 so someone else can go viral screenshoting my tweet
I think I think anonymity might be the best way to move in some of these cases like you're
sinking big pharma you don't want motherfuckers to know who you are dog you know what I'm saying
they might put you on that list you know what I mean yeah and they got the bread for it too
that's yeah that's a good point I didn't think about that that's true I mean it is it's basically
like, I mean, it's an asymmetrical
like financial warfare of some kind.
You're taking $18 billion out of someone's pocket.
But this is what makes Twitter special.
You know what I mean?
Is that a billionaire could come on the platform
thinking him buying it is going to give them
some level of respect.
And you know what I'm saying?
Or whatever.
And everybody on his platform together in unison
is fuck you constantly every day, every second of every day.
You know what I'm saying?
And that doesn't happen in where else where, like, you'll see like a, like a, a,
somebody with so much power and bread and influence and all that,
a guy that's been called a genius for, you know, a decade,
get just dunked on by motherfuckers with 118 followers.
You know what I'm saying?
On the regular.
I was, I was an English lit major.
and I would tell you this, for the majority of human history, we'd all be dead, right?
The most you'd ever get out of, you know, going after one of the five most powerful or rich people on the planet was being in a Shakespeare class and the professors explaining this little line right here, this is Shakespeare's wink, wink to the rabble rousers about the king's eating habits.
That's the best hit you could get on the king for like a thousand years of human history.
and right now you have people lining up to throw fucking rotten vegetables in his house while
robbing him calling him a bigotty bitch in front of the world yeah dog and shit is like bro
crazy crazy that man blew 44 billion to own the lives and it's not working out
it's like when when motherfucking elmer fud will put the gun in the tree hole and
Then the shit was circled back up to other.
Right?
Like, that's exactly what's happening to Elon right now with this shit, Doc.
Crazy.
Yeah, Elma Fun motherfucker right now.
Oh, fuck.
A genius.
A genius.
I love when they, like, and then the person put together the, the supercut of all the people calling him a genius.
You know what I mean?
To mock him.
Dog.
Bro, Twitter is, bro, it's the only place.
It's a hellscape, but like Jackson said to me, it's our hellscale.
You know what I mean?
This is where I choose to burn my free time and attention span.
God damn it.
All right, let's talk about TV and movies.
That's not as good a segment as talk about a tweet.
Tatum.
He tried to make it work.
I respect the effort.
You were trying to figure it out.
I respect the effort.
Train tracks went right off the edge of the cliff there.
You tried, though.
You tried.
But.
But so we're going to talk about Chappelle's S&L monologue.
I definitely want to ask John about the series finale of Atlanta,
and then Tyler and I are going to talk about Black Panther 2 for a little bit.
The Chappelle monologue.
All three of us, I think, felt the same way from the group chat.
Felt like vintage.
Maybe we're over the shit that we wanted to get over
and back to being able to look forward to,
unabashedly look forward to seeing Chappelle.
But I thought it was the best thing I've seen him do in a minute.
What do you guys think?
I'd agree. I'd agree. I have not liked the kick that Chappelle has been on the last four or five years with this corny-ass anti-cancel culture going at trans people shit.
Because it's been boring. It's been uninspired. It's been unfunny. But last night, I feel like, well, on Saturday night, I feel like, you know, when he did his monologue, I feel like that was Vintin' Chappelle.
Chappelle who found a unique angle to a controversial subject and still found the humor in it.
You know, like, you know, once he started talking about the Kanye and the Kyrie shit and, you know, we needed to call back.
Now Kanye's walking around with a chain and shit.
I was like, God damn.
I was like, this is motherfucker.
He's back.
He's back, bro.
But, yeah, I mean, this is, this.
It's, you know, Chappelle was trying to, like I said, he went on the anti-cancel culture shit where you can't joke about anything now.
No, you joked about the fucking hottest topic in the nation right now.
And you found the humor in it.
And no one is like, I haven't seen any calls for him being canceled besides people.
Like, oh, I know Chappelle made everyone mad.
Bro, you're like the only people saying that.
You know what I mean?
Like, like the pitchforks are not out when they were deservedly out when he was doing that corny trans shit.
You know what I mean?
Right.
I think, I think like it was it was cheap.
Like you said, you didn't give us that insight we're used to.
One of my favorite.
You're talking about what he was.
You're talking about what he was.
Not Saturday night.
Saturday night.
It was great.
You know what I'm saying?
But prior, you know, it just felt cheap.
It felt cheap.
And that's why I love Chappelle, because I loved his perspective.
You know what I'm saying?
His perspective, like, it just didn't seem like it was well thought.
I just felt too personal.
You know what I mean?
I'm like, bro, like this isn't, we talked about this in a previous podcast.
We was punching down.
This isn't the Chappelle that I know, like, you know, that it's just, you know,
kind of regurgitating other people's shit.
You know what I'm saying in his own way.
Like Dave Chappelle always brings a perspective that I don't hear other people saying.
And I laugh a lot.
I listen to Dave Chappelle, but I listen to Dave Chappelle.
But I listen to Dave Chappelle.
Chappelle more because I just, the brilliance is it just, you know, it is what always comes out
in this comedy specials to me. And I, and this is what it felt like. It felt like brilliant,
well thought out, insightful shit. He did talk about, he's always talked about like, you know,
things that you had kind of tip-y-toe around, you know what I mean? But it seemed like he would
dance around that shit. Like, he was, you know, he was always smooth enough and smart enough
to, to, to wade in deep water, you know what I'm saying, but not get,
caught up in the tide you feel what I'm saying like uh now you know I'm saying
but it that's what it felt like you know um where he was just it was he was some real
conversations some real some some some some some some some some some some some some some some real
talk some real heavy shit that you can fuck around and trip up and you know get caught up in but
he he did he did it beautifully and it was fucking hilarious you know what I'm saying and it was
smart and it was all the shit that we look for when we talk when we look at Dave Chappelle yeah I think
yeah I mean I think you guys both hit it you know
It just was like, it was back to the like, I don't know, it being totally unpredictable,
not knowing what he was going to say next.
And then just, and then it was fun.
It wasn't just interesting.
It was fucking funny.
And I greatly appreciated that.
And as John, as you said, they could just give him the monologue of SNL every week.
And I would tune in every week.
Make that shit the Chappelle show.
Fuck.
But yeah, I wouldn't know.
Yeah.
You know, like, like I told you all in a group chat, when he was announced as like, you know,
hosting the SNL, I wrote my eyes like, oh, God.
he's going to fucking, you know, come and use Kanye and Kyrie to push his tired ass cancel culture bullshit.
But that was not the case.
You know, he for sure discussed them, but he definitely made it the point that they are not victims here.
They are not martyrs here.
They fucked up, you know, with this shit that they did too.
Yeah, yeah.
So that was good to see from him.
I was like, okay, he's not all the way far gone.
You know, maybe there's still some hope here.
He brought a lot of reason.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, he obviously said, like, I think it was a little bit heavy-handed in Kyrie's punishment.
But, and he said that, but then he said that Kyrie fucked up as well.
So, like, it was a very, you know what I'm saying, nuanced, you know what I'm saying,
with opinion, you know what I'm saying?
Deep satisfied to sigh.
All right.
I didn't roll my eyes, though, bro.
You know what I'm saying?
He's not quite got to the point with me where I was like, this nigger Dave Chappelle.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah, I feel you.
I feel he hadn't got there with me, yo.
I was tired of the cheap shit, but I was like, yeah, we'll see.
We'll see what happens.
you know, I hadn't quite given up or felt like he was done.
And I'm glad he proved, you know, proved it, you know, he wasn't.
I think I was a little more on the John side of that spectrum.
I was definitely, when I saw he was going to host, I was excited.
His, you know, he hosted the week after Trump got elected.
And he had a sketch on that show that was like, really maybe the only funny thing that happened in 2016 was they did.
They did a sketch on SNL where it was like all the white people were like laughing about how Trump was going to lose and all.
the black people were like,
your expectations for this country
are a little bit higher than mine are.
But that shit was,
that shit was soup.
That was like,
probably the only funny thing
anyone did about the fucking election.
And that bought a lot of good with me.
You know what I'm saying?
We're like,
you know,
like,
he's,
in the dark,
and like,
bro,
I remember 2016,
where I wasn't shocked either.
But I was like,
fuck,
like,
I was right.
Like,
how I felt was right.
Like,
I knew it would be close.
I knew it was going to be a lance
like everybody was going to say.
I was like,
no,
Y'all don't know how racist this fucking country is.
Same thing he said, you know what I mean, but he made me laugh at this shit
that was making me like, holy shit, I can't believe this in the moment.
You know what I'm saying?
Yeah.
Holy shit, I can't believe what I already thought could happen.
Happened, you know what I'm saying?
And it happened.
And then it happened.
I was right.
Right, right.
All right, John, you just watched the series finale of Atlanta came out this week.
I had not been tapped in on this season.
I feel like they had two or three episodes out before I even knew it was.
It was back on, to be honest with you.
But you love the series finale.
I know you love this season.
What did you like so much about it?
What was so good about it?
The first, I don't know.
Did y'all watch season three?
The Paris shit?
It was really weird.
Yeah.
You said what?
The shit when they were in Paris?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I never finished.
It was really weird.
A lot of people kind of jumped out the band.
I got to get that.
Yeah, yeah.
I loved it.
I loved it, though.
I liked weird.
It just, it wasn't the same brand that people would have been, like, or,
It felt like a totally different show from the first two seasons, right?
This show, it kind of felt like the first two seasons,
but also, like, they just did whatever the fuck they wanted to do each episode.
Like, it felt like they operate outside the rules of what a season of TV is supposed to be this season.
And they just made what they thought was dope as fuck.
You know what I mean?
Like, I think it was the goof at the door.
Like, brilliant television.
Like, y'all should, I mean, I think y'all should tap it.
If you didn't watch season three, fuck it.
It doesn't matter.
It doesn't have much to do with this season.
Just tap it for season four.
It might be my favorite season of television ever.
Creatively, it was, it was great.
It was fucking hilarious.
And they had those weird moments, but like, they also had some really beautiful moments, too.
Tying in storylines and stuff, like, trying to make sure to do that.
But, like, this last episode, like, the thought that,
went into it, I was like, to even think of this is brilliant.
To fucking, like, to nail it, you know what I'm saying?
It felt, I mean, it feels like almost like an impossible thing to do.
And also, there's been so many good, you know, seasons of television or good TV shows
that I like that just went out on a fucking lame-ass, whack-ass note.
I think they swung for the fucking fences with this, with this series finale and caught every
bit of the ball.
That motherfucker went fucking 430 yards.
They, you know what I'm saying?
They did that shit out the fucking part, bro.
It was, it was great.
It was great.
But, like, it was like, what's the, what's the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the, the exception version of a TV show.
But it was hell of weird and involved a thick Judge Judy.
So it was a, the, a very Atlanta version of that.
You know what I mean?
It's so good, dude.
And also, I had to break down a rata, like, dude, like, like, like, yo, niggas watch the fuck out of Judge Judy.
growing up. You know what I'm saying? Like, especially our grandparents, you know what I mean, but like,
or my mom, our parents or whatever, but, you know, Judge Judy, very familiar part of, you know,
black culture is very, you know, black community is very familiar with Judge Judy, but.
And they gave Judge Judy some ass for the series finale. That's what you're telling me.
And, and at a Popeye's reference in there, too, like there's a lot of, a lot of nigger shit
mixed with some very weird fun shit just like the first two seasons. Okay.
But I think they upped it on a different level. Like, it was, it was special. I, I, I,
There was an emotional part where they're eating Popeye's chicken driving.
It doesn't really break anything down.
It doesn't, you know, it doesn't, you don't, you don't know.
I'm not worried about you spoiling it from here.
Yeah, they don't spoil anything.
And I was just smiling out of happiness and also emotion.
It was really weird.
But it is, it's been great.
It's been great.
All right.
John, do you care about having Black Panther spoiled for you?
No, y'all go ahead.
Y'all go ahead and do y'all, do that.
Okay.
Yeah.
Uh, are, well, all right.
If you haven't seen the movie yet or you don't want stuff spoiled for you, go ahead and I guess just stop listening at this point.
So that way we don't have to worry about it.
Tyler, I thought this was like the best Marvel movie I'd seen in a minute.
It was emotionaler than a motherfucker as we discussed going into it.
But I thought it was great, man.
What did you think of the movie?
I thought it was amazing.
I thought it was phenomenal.
You know, we all went into this knowing that this was going to be the send-off for not just Tachala, but for Chadwick.
Right.
And I loved how, I don't want to say I loved,
but I thought that it was very thoughtful of Kugler for them to open it up
and address that from the very first scene, you know,
the scene where Shuri is, you know, in her lab,
trying to put some shit together to save, you know,
to Chala who's, you know, on his deathbed.
I appreciated how, you know, like I said,
that he addressed that from the very front.
I appreciate that.
I feel like, you know, I'm glad they addressed it first and foremost and not, you know, had us drag out like, oh, Tachala's away. Oh, no, he just died in a plane crash or something cheap like that, right?
Right.
Yeah, yeah, because the thing is, you know, we're not just saying bye to Tachala here. We're saying by to Chadwick.
You know, and I think that, you know, they kind of kept it true by saying by having it, you know, be part of the storyline that he died from an undisclosed illness, which, you know, he did die from an illness. He died from cancer, unfortunately.
And it was undisclosed in real life in many ways because he kept it so private, you know, and I, and I, and I, and I.
And I think that it was clear that they were sort of implying the same thing about the character.
It was like he didn't want it to be a big, you know, thing.
And so they sort of tied him with the character in that way that I thought was really pointing as well.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And so, you know, Coogler, he was tasked with a real daunting, you know, task here of, you know,
you have to make Chadwick's absence spell, but you can't have it take the air out of the room, you know, for the whole movie.
And I felt like he told that line perfectly.
I felt like it was a beautiful tribute to Chadwick, you know, and to Childwick.
You know, the fucking
debut of Namor, though.
Oh, my God.
What a villain, anti-hero, whatever you want to call him.
Bro, that motherfucker was amazing.
Amazing.
Like, give him his own motherfucking movie.
Give him his own Disney Plus series.
I want all the motherfucking name where I can get.
That motherfucker was bad.
But yeah, it was, like I said, it was a really good movie.
I loved the action aspects of it.
I loved how they introduced Ironheart to us.
You know, looking forward to what she's going to bring here.
I loved that. It was a heartfelt tribute to Chadwick.
And, you know, just, just hats off to Ryan Coogler, man.
I think he handled that, you know, with the best, most delicate care that he could have.
Yeah, I agree with you.
It was, I'll be honest, I kind of was not excited for the movie because I just felt like even as much as I trust Ryan Coogler as a director, I just kind of felt like it was impossible to make that.
Like, once I heard they weren't recasting it, I was like, how the fuck are they going to do this?
because, you know, after 9-11 happened, there was this really weird period in comics where they were doing, like,
tributes to the firefighters who passed away in 9-11.
And, you know, I mean, it was obviously such a big cultural moment that everyone kind of did something about it, right?
But in a world of, in the comic book world, it doesn't make any sense.
It was like, yeah, man, like buildings get knocked down in every issue of the Hulk.
You know what I mean?
So, like, how are you trying to conflate the real world with the world that you've,
created. And I kind of felt similarly about this. Like, how do you have a death? First of all,
how do you have him die and have it even make sense from a story perspective? And then how do you
have it be impactful in the way that we're all feeling that this is different than some shit
that happened with Tony Stark Ironman? Because this was a real person that we were invested in, right?
And the way that he was able to, like you said, he did it in the first 10 minutes of the movie.
And I was just sitting there just in awe of being able to tell the story that way. Yeah, you're
so right about Namor like
Namor, Jonathan Majors, like, I'm
very excited about the next steps for
the Marvel universe, because there's so many actors
where you're like, I would watch them do anything
in this character's role right now.
You know, like, they're just like crackling
with fucking energy, man. That Namor
shit was, that was crazy.
Manor was so fucking cool
that I was pissed when Shuri cut his wing off.
I was like, no, that's the coolest fucking thing about it.
I was like, don't take the flying away from him.
I was like, no, I don't do that to him, dog.
And, you know, and I was rude for sure to win that shit.
But, yeah, he's amazing fucking caring.
Like I said, I just hope we get a whole lot more from him.
But, you know, going to what you said, like, you know, it's, it's, I never wanted
Chadwick to be recast.
I never wanted to Chala to be recast because I felt like, for one, I don't, I don't
want to say it's fortunate because there's nothing fortunate about this situation.
But it just so happened that, you know, it could be canon for there to be a new Black Panther
and went to Chala dies.
Right.
Right? Because the Black Panther isn't just one set person.
It's a title.
It's, you know, it's a distinct, you know, whatever the fuck.
But I felt like that would have been unfair to the actor because the whole time we did just
like, bro, you're not Chadwick.
You know what I mean?
Right.
That would have been so unfair to him.
I think that, you know, like I said, I think we all knew that Shuri was going to be next up.
I don't think any of us were surprised there.
But, but, you know, going to what you said about how, yeah, you know, Tony Stark died.
You know, the director of, you know, Dr. Strange,
Multiverse of Madness who, you know, Dr. Strange was lieutenant in command now.
He's going to be, you know, up, up leading the guys because Tony Stark died.
He didn't have to deal with shit like this.
Like the director of No Way Home, you know, Peter Parker was, you know, Tony Stark's
mentee.
They didn't have to deal with it this way because it was like, okay, Tony Stark died.
You know, that's part of the plot.
Let's keep it moving.
This was bigger than the Chaladine.
This was Chadwick leaving us.
You know what I mean?
And there was real emotion.
Like the scenes with Angela Bassett talking about losing her family.
I mean, I may as well have been stuck to the movie seat, just like, I couldn't move.
You know what I mean?
Like, she was, the, and that motherfucker was so long.
And that motherfucker was so long.
Give her all the fucking Oscars.
Man, she dropped her non-existent nuts in that motherfucker.
But, but yeah, Angela Bassett, you know, show the fuck out.
I was legit shocked that she died.
You know what I mean?
I knew that.
Yeah, me too.
Yeah, I knew that Reeve wasn't going to die because we got the whole Ironheart series
and shit coming up.
Yeah, they threw me for one when, when, uh, when, uh, when, Raymond had died.
But great fucking movie.
I loved it, man.
It was.
The last thing I wanted to ask you about was, you know, there's the, and so, if you're
with us this far, I assume you've seen it, but extra super spoiler alert for us talking
about the, the credit scene, but, you know, they reveal at the end that, um, you know,
he's, that, that, uh, that, uh, that, that, that, that Chala had a son and they introduced him.
Um, I saw it in a, uh, um, I saw it in a, uh, uh, that, uh, that, uh, that, that, that, I saw it was he saw it.
theater in Long Beach in Long Beach
on opening night and it was
a fairly black
audience and there was an older black woman
behind us who when it
when the sun appeared on screen
said oh here they go with the extras
I had a whole different
reaction in my theater my theater was black
as fuck and everyone
there was like just a sigh of like oh
you know like
I was like this motherfucker
looks like the kid who the corner
kid,
I love corn.
I was like,
I'm like,
bro,
they got the corn kid
in this
motherfucker
I'm like.
But yeah.
Oh,
man.
Yeah.
Well,
so we could probably
have this
conversation with
John in a
longer way
after he's seen it.
But, you know,
I've mentioned on
the show before
when we were
talking about how
they were going
to handle Chadwick
passing.
Schar's uncle
is a black
science fiction
writer.
And a huge
comic book
fan, loves
the MCU,
but was really
vocal, and I think
took a lot of shit for it after
Chadwick passed away that he said
it was sort of all or nothing
on recasting for him
because of what that character meant to
his son. And he did not
like the idea of
they're not being, because obviously you sort of
write Falcanov, he didn't like the idea
of they're not being a black man
for his kid and for kids to look up
to or whatever. And so he was really
like kind of adamant that
he did not want to see it be Shuri or whatever.
whatever. I'm with you. I sort of felt like storywise, it's just the only thing that made sense.
And I don't think it makes sense ever, whether it's for reasons that I sort of believe in, like
his or reasons that I don't. I don't think it's ever right to say, we as an audience need this
emotionally. And so therefore, the people making a piece of art should be under more pain.
Like, clearly they could not have recast that role and functioned. I mean, they all said that.
And so to me, that just, that's sort of always the first step for me.
But I saw his point.
I mean, he's certainly making a good faith argument about, like, his own personal disappointment
about that change in the Marvel universe.
And I'm curious, he hadn't seen it yet as of right now.
So I'm curious as to how his opinion will or won't change based on that end credit scene.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, Chadwick was, like, Black Panther, Chadwick's Black Panther was poised.
He was on that A tier of MCU heroes, right?
And no shots to show.
shirry but I don't think she's going to be on that day.
You know, she's not going to be up there with the Captain America's, with the doors,
with the hults and et cetera.
But Chadwick was for sure up there on that tier.
But, you know, I guess I can understand how he wants to see, you know, a male superhero
for his kid.
But I promise you his kid is going to be just fine.
His kid, if his kid isn't to the Black Panther, his kid is going to fuck with
Shuri too.
Like, you know, it's not that big of a deal.
I don't think in that aspect.
Yeah.
All right.
John.
I'm trying to, I'm trying to wave it, John.
You can unmute now, John.
And the craziest part was when
Nobody saw coming when
This fucking guy here
This fucking guy
All right man
