Starting point is 00:01:38 I went with like, you know, a beef shish kebobabob with, like, you know, peppers and onions. She went lamb with. with like zucchini and onions and with like a little garlic pesto spread. So she did your ass in, bro. Exactly. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:01:53 You know, she ran with the recipe. She pulled a you. She pulled a you. Right, right. Through his ass. I let her have that. You know, so yeah,

So, Mike, what did you do for New Year's? I still want to know what you did.
Starting point is 00:04:25 All right. I actually have this on the topic list, the washed Trinity of the three of us. Let's start there. Fuck it. Fuck it. Let's start there. We celebrated as we always do.
Starting point is 00:04:40 the 9 o'clock, the East Coast New Year's with the kids, had them outside to set off poppers. We had some neighbor kids over, you know, their friends over, shoot off the poppers, make the noise and all that shit. Got the kids down. Char and I were going to watch TV. We're really feeling it. We were just kind of tired.
Starting point is 00:04:57 So I read, she read, gave each other a little high five at midnight and went to sleep. Y'all said to midnight though. Y'all made it? We made it. And we were not planning on making it. but it was like 1130 and we were like, ah,
Starting point is 00:05:13 what the fuck? Yeah. I love it. I love it. I love it. I legit forgot like it was New Year's. Like, like, like,
Starting point is 00:05:22 like, after 12 was like, like, like, aren't you forgetting something? I was like, the fuck? What am I forgetting? And then she did the little corny puckered up face.
Starting point is 00:05:30 I was like, oh, okay. Yeah, I completely forgot, dog. I'm beyond wash. I love that. I love that. You're wash and dry, bro. You forgot about the new year.
Starting point is 00:05:40 That shit ain't shit, man So you didn't watch the ball drop None of that shit But you was up Like a motherfucker Yeah Sheesh Yeah man
Starting point is 00:05:50 Y'all know I didn't do shit I tweeted about it I was What'd you do? No read your tweet We went to a new year's party Right Like Rathers Brothers brother
Starting point is 00:05:58 Through a new year New Year's party I've been yawning since 7 p.m. Like I thought there was The fact that I made it to the new year Like awake It's beyond me me and Roder were talking about like how the fuck did we do that because we've been tired since 3 p.m.
Starting point is 00:06:15 Right. Flat out. Flat out, dog. But we were there. I'm sitting there. I'm not drinking because I'm driving, right? You know what I'm saying? And also, I'm not going to say that.
Starting point is 00:06:26 But there's a time when I wouldn't have cared as much about the not drinking shit. You know what I meant about, you know, but anyway. So I'm not, I'm not drinking. You would always have cared, but you would have cared less about the margins. Right, right, right. I would, I may have had had to like, a. drinker too. You cared less about how long the clock was between the one drink or some
Starting point is 00:06:44 right. Exactly, exactly. Perfect perfect way to describe that shit. But like, didn't drink it all, drinking fucking water, sitting there with Ratha looking at pictures of Sony. Like, this is what I'm doing. You know,
Starting point is 00:07:01 bringing the new year at nine people like, there's just, it doesn't, I did not understand. I didn't know what Wash truly was until that moment. You know what I mean? I was like, you thought it was going to bed at 1.30 instead of two. You didn't realize it was being tired at seven.
Starting point is 00:07:17 Tired at seven. And then like we get a chance to like get away. We're like, yo, we get out the house, you know, you know, but our mom's going to watch the baby. And all we do is look at pictures of her. What the fucking spread? Bro, bro. Like, dog.
Starting point is 00:07:31 Crazy. And I had out some dad jeans. I ain't a lot of y'all, man. They were nudie. They were a nice brand. But they were just bad ass jeans. I'm like, this is crazy. This vibe was weird.
Starting point is 00:07:41 But yeah, man, I did not know what Wash was until that moment. I'm done. I'm cooked. Salute to you. It's all for me, man. My brother's in Washington. I love hearing people. Like, the people's response, people's response was congratulations.
Starting point is 00:07:54 Like, that's where. And I get it. I get it. I get it, bro. I get it. You know what I'm saying? It's more, it's more peaceful on this side. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:08:04 It's more peace. You don't want to be out here, as a wise man once said. Yeah, you don't want to be out here, dog. I fully like, that's my line for shower. I fully refer to Shara as the wife of my youth. You know what I mean? That is true both literally and spiritually. Love the wife of your youth.
Starting point is 00:08:24 I am here loving the wife of my youth. That is what I'm up to, bro. God spoke to that man that day, dog. You know what I'm saying? Not one word, one syllable was wrong. Great, bro. And beyond how. I watched I was with just forgetting.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Me and Summer, we watched Knives Out, the glass onion shit. That's good. I fell asleep on that shit. And I fell asleep on movies all the time, right? Yeah, for sure. She's always, you know, she'll pause it right where I fell asleep. We'll resume with the next day.
Starting point is 00:08:55 She didn't do it this time. She watched that shit without me. It was too good. I was like, wow. I was like, we're starting 2023 off with betrayal. I don't even know who I can trust anymore. No, listen, this is what I wanted to do. This is what I want to do.
Starting point is 00:09:09 I was thinking we might save it for the next episode. But let's get into it. This is going to be our men versus women hypothetical battle off. We're going to go full podcast for 23. I want to know what would you do and what do you think is the morally right thing to do if you're watching something at night and your spouse falls asleep. This was a special case, though. I wouldn't have really cared any other time because we were supposed to try to solve this mystery together.
Starting point is 00:09:36 That was the agreement about watching knives out. You know what I'm saying? Because it's a who done it. So, you know, and the thing is, I had put this off for about a week or so, you know, working around her schedule so we could watch it together. Colgain. And yet she was there at the appointed time to try and solve the mystery, but you abdicated your responsibility by falling asleep, Tyler.
Starting point is 00:09:56 Yeah. But still, she knows that comes with the tale. And Tyler. We knew going into that. I was going to make it. But really? You stay up to, you lean like three and a half hours of sleep. How did this happen?
Starting point is 00:10:08 That's the thing, bro. Like, the easiest way for me to go to sleep is for me to try to watch something. Because when I put my brain on cruise control, it just shuts down. You know what I'm saying? Oh, wow, wow. Like when I'm up at three in the morning, I'm fucking on Twitter or I'm picking some shit. Oh, yeah, you know what I'm saying? So, yeah, that's the difference.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Sharr will stop it for me. I will not stop it for her. But she's like you. But she's like you, like for our whole relationship. That's we talk all the time about couch naps. that's like Shar's joke. She'll look at me and be like, it'll be like 11 o'clock.
Starting point is 00:10:40 She'll be like, I'm just gonna sit down on the couch and see what happens and be like, you're going to fucking sleep. Yeah. You know what's going to happen. It always happens.
Starting point is 00:10:48 It's just deep enough that it's like, bro, I'm trying to watch this Game of Thrones episode, whatever it is, you know what I mean? So, but she will, she'll stop it for me
Starting point is 00:10:56 but I won't stop it for her. But it's, it's not a betrayal as much as it is. That's just what we have to plan around because she falls asleep all the time. Rather will stop it for me. I don't know if I would stop it for Rather or not because I'm the person that always falls asleep.
Starting point is 00:11:14 She's literally never fallen asleep on a movie we were wanting to watch. Ever? I am the person. She's never falling asleep. If you fall asleep one? That's phenomenal. What movie was this?
Starting point is 00:11:27 Did I stop it? I guess I'm not a stopper. I didn't stop it. One time, one time. The other 70,000 times, it was me that fucking fell asleep, dog. So I guess I'm not a stopper. I'm like you, Mike.
Starting point is 00:11:41 I think we're supposed to, you know, make this into a reason to hate women or something. We're probably not. We didn't go all the way. We're not good at that part. We're not good at that part of it. Man eat steak, pork, chitling. Woman eat salad.
Starting point is 00:11:54 That's just how it is. Okay. So I want to know, was there anything else notable happen for y'all on your break? John, I know you went to. to Atlanta, Tyler, I know you got to spend some good family time. Anyone else have any crazy Christmas or clearly no crazy New Year stories? No, not at all.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Dude, one thing I realized too is that this year I did, every year I'll have like two or three nights. Me and Rodo have like two or three nights who were like, what the fuck? Like what the fuck was that? Like that was a crazy night, you know what I mean? Like, dude, like that was, dude wears my curtain to eat like one of them nights, you know what I mean? Two or three nights a year. I didn't have one of those nights last year Not a single one
Starting point is 00:12:39 We had some fun nights But they ended like 10, 10 p.m. You know what I mean? It's crazy I didn't realize like that thing Ah yes You have to You know what you can't have those nights anymore
Starting point is 00:12:51 Because there's you know You have a child every night of your life You know what I'm saying When you have to come home to It makes sense why I didn't But damn that's the first year ever I didn't have a Like holy shit dude
Starting point is 00:13:03 What happened dude like You know what I mean? You're so soft now. It's cute. Where'd we leave our shoes, bro? Bro, like, do you know what I'm saying? Like, like, dude, last night, our brother told me, told me to like, yo, text me when y'all get home, right? I was sleep.
Starting point is 00:13:22 Why? No, no, no. I was sleep. This is not exaggeration. Within two minutes of getting into the house, sleep. I walked in, took my clothes off in the room, and fell. into the bed. Don't remember shit else. Put my little mask. My got a little eye
Starting point is 00:13:38 mask to put on. Didn't see any, bro. Out of there, bro. The fuck. Staying up after 12 is painful. It's a painful thing. I was driving home. Like, why does anybody
Starting point is 00:13:54 do this? Why does anybody do this to themselves? Bro, I am in physical pain. I just want to go home. I'm not doing that again until next year, okay? You're a fucking gremlin, bro. You're an actual magwai
Starting point is 00:14:10 turning into a gremlin in midnight. Right. I'm like, I'm like fighting my eyes open. This is dangerous. Dog, staying up at the midnight, it's dangerous and painful. Jesus. All right.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Tyler, you got any other crazy stories from the- I am 86 years old. John's crazy story is he stayed up until 12.04 a.m. On a Saturday night. Bro. I don't want to do that again. I've started my journey down being a crock pot guy. I told you all that I was going to lean to that.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Y'all saw the three lamb, you know, that I shirk up with that. So, yeah, we're off to a smashing start with that. I'll tell you that much, funny. That crock pot's coming in handy. Do you have a crock pot or do you have the instant pot? No, I got a crock pot. Okay, okay. I got the instant pot.
Starting point is 00:15:01 Actual, like, actual crock pot. Okay. I got the inside spot. I've been doing like the, the, the roast What's it What's that? I said pot roast
Starting point is 00:15:09 We're doing a pot roast Pot roast It only takes two hours But it's so tender So tender Make some Make some tacos in there Tacos?
Starting point is 00:15:18 You throw some chicken breast in there With some salsa that you like And then just, you know, let it sit And then you just kind of go in there With the knife And shred it all up And throw it on some, you know, tortillas, you're good to go.
Starting point is 00:15:30 I felt that in my My jaw's locked When you were, Yeah. You talk about that shit, bro. That's my very complex recipe. Some chicken with some salsa. Sounds incredible.
Starting point is 00:15:45 All right. There was one major thing happened to the Jenkins and Jones world while we were off. And I can't believe neither of you brought it up. But we found out last week, thanks to Tyler, that we won the Webby for Best Comedy Podcasts. years ago. So congratulations. Five years ago. Since 2018.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Bro, I was just Googling up on us just, you know, seeing, you know, seeing what the pulse is. We're checking some things out. All right. I'm just checking some things out. And I see fucking 2018 webby comedy winner Jenkins and Jones. I'm like, what the fuck? Where did that happen? And I and I clicked the link. And it's for one, it took us to our IMDB page, which I was like, I guess they just make these for whoever because we ain't make that motherfucker at all. There we were.
Starting point is 00:16:35 IMDB, Jacobs and Jones, listed on our fucking, you know, credentials, 2018 Webby Comedy Award winner. Never fucking knew. Shit, no one notified us that we were nominated or that we won. We had no fucking idea. I don't use this word other than when I'm with my friends. That's the ghettoish shit ever.
Starting point is 00:16:54 Getto as fuck. And also, guys, we geto as fuck. I'm sorry, bro. Dude, Rother said, that is so, y'all. I told her. She said, of course, y'all won a Webby and didn't know until five years later. Okay?
Starting point is 00:17:11 Talk, of course y'all did. And I, you know, I can't, hey, I can't argue with her. I can't argue with her. Jackson, congratulations to you in your burgeoning career. I know you weren't our producer in 2018, but you are a producer when we found out we won, which means you can put it on your resume. Put that on the TV.
Starting point is 00:17:29 You get the champagne shower too, bro. Put that on the CD. is not today's price. There it is. Facts. Facts. Jesus, dog. When you said that, that's who I fully realized who we were.
Starting point is 00:17:42 Now, you know what I'm saying? When you said, like, we won a Webby, did not know to a 2023, 2022, you know what I mean? I'm like, yeah, yeah, of course. I realize who we are. Yep, yep. That's, that's, that is who we are. Proud of y'all. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:17:56 I'm proud of us, I guess. What the fuck? I like to thank my mom. What is a webby? What is a Webby mean? Timothy Zoom? Is that his first thing for real? Timothy Shala-Mageen.
Starting point is 00:18:11 Y'all got some names. Timothy Shalabagame. I would pay money to hear him try to pronounce per year and Garibasio. Yes. Get Webby on the show, bro. Please, get him on this show. Throw Garabasio and Webby, please. He, bro, literally going to swing at the air.
Starting point is 00:18:31 This shit, bro. What was the one that Kevin Garnett fucked up? Equival. Equivalent. Equivalent. No, bro. You got to give him credit for how he moved, though, right? He said it confidently.
Starting point is 00:18:45 There's nothing you can do. Confidently moved on, bro. Played it all perfectly. Much respect. We all have words that we've done that with on the podcast. Absolutely. All right. What a week, though, to have taken off
Starting point is 00:19:01 this is our end of year slash beginning of the year episode and we have some late contenders for booger boys of the year question had either of you heard of Andrew Tate prior to like two weeks ago
Starting point is 00:19:17 yeah I did I heard about it yeah I heard about when he like first got banned from Twitter and shit y'all know I'll be on Twitter like a motherfucker but yeah yeah so he got banned from he's a former
Starting point is 00:19:27 MMA guy or kickboxer or something I don't know he's former combat sports guy. But he was, you know, pivoted from that to, like, basically trying to be like the, what was the name of the guy when we were, Kevin Samuels? No, no, no, it was like the pickup artist that was like, I would teach you how to manipulate women into liking you. Who, who did that? It was a black dude. It was a black dude. It was that light being nerd nigger, man. No, no, it was that nerd nigger that got clown, I think it was, uh, was it, was it, was it, was it, Was it Ruby Rose that clowned him?
Starting point is 00:20:03 I don't know. This was a, this was a, this was a way. Anyway. Anyway, This is the older, I don't remember him. This dude. Mike was watching him.
Starting point is 00:20:09 Mike was watching him. Mike was watching them. He had an ad on TV. He had, he had an ad on MTV. We used to always make fun of him. Like, you took out a commercial to tell everyone you got no bitches. Mike bought the VHS tape.
Starting point is 00:20:22 Teach me no way. And it worked. Right, right. It worked. It worked. Andrew Tate, I guess, was doing content creation of like this, you know, misogynist, like stupid, horrible worldview. I, you know, like Tyler said, he got banned from Twitter and YouTube and Facebook when it was pretty hard to get banned from those places. And then I guess one of the, he was one of the people Elon Musk let back on. Is that correct?
Starting point is 00:20:50 Yeah. Yeah. So anyway, this dude, his thing is that like, he said some truly horrific shit about women. I would never repeat on this podcast. But anyway, he, that, That's the kind of loser he is. But he's selling this, I'm an alpha male. I'll teach you how to be an alpha male. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Starting point is 00:21:09 He's like one of those guys, right? And I, first of all, we work in sports. We have friends who are musicians. We know plenty of people who are, who I would describe as alpha males. Not one of them would ever use the term alpha male to describe themselves. Nigga, if you,
Starting point is 00:21:23 if you are worried about alpha and beta males, you are a fucking beta male, dog. Ain't no, ain't no real nigger talking. about no alpha or beta nutton, bitch. You know what I mean? Fuck you me. You know, that's the lamest, square as fucking shit. And you listen to this fucking weirdo say this dumb-ass shit, bro.
Starting point is 00:21:42 Get the fuck out of it. Anyway, sorry, Mike. Continue. No, no, no. Because, but that was a point that I wanted to make is like, you know what? I never heard any OG from any group ever that I know say, I'm an alpha male. Never. You fucking kidding me?
Starting point is 00:21:55 I'll beat your ass. That's what you heard them say, nigger. Get the fuck out. Anyway, this dude got into, to show you what an alpha male he was. He got into a Twitter argument with Greta Thunberg, who's a like 19-year-old environmental activist. And as a result of this, he had a 19-year-old environmental activists get like 200,000 retweets on a tweet about how he has a small dick. Dunked on that nigger, bro. Bound on his ass, bro.
Starting point is 00:22:28 And then that man wanted to try to come. back. Well, technically you, you listed your email as, you know, small dick energy. So that's your email. Thanks for telling us. Oh, you have a small dick. Yeah, because that's what Alphamel says when they get dunked on on Twitter. You're well, technically, shut the fuck up, bitch. Martin Prince replying as, that weak ass comeback. And you came back like five hours later with that week shit. You know what I'm saying? Thought hell of hard to come back with that weak shit. I got her. But what's crazy is people like clown them. I saw like a couple of tweets people were clowning him and how many dudes are taking up from even after that shit.
Starting point is 00:23:02 You know what I'm saying? Like, oh, bro, God fucking body. There's no, you know what I'm saying? Like, what the fuck? But like,
Starting point is 00:23:08 dog, it's just how many people actually subscribe to this craziness? Bro, we losing recipes, nigga. You know what I'm saying? Like,
Starting point is 00:23:17 all backgrounds. Yes. All backgrounds. We're going to talk about that after we're done making fun of him for sure because I definitely want to talk about that. But this dude then, like within 24 hours,
Starting point is 00:23:28 was arrested in, I believe, Romania for human trafficking? What the fuck? What the fuck, bro? Cs, ball for real, bro. Nicker, like, that's like, that's like, like, what level of sleazeball is that?
Starting point is 00:23:44 Like, that's what? The final boss of fucking dickheads? You know what I'm saying? Like, and this is the fucking weirdo that you just are taking up for online who's teaching you the ways? You know what I mean? Did you see how Greta was connected
Starting point is 00:23:58 to him being arrested, though? Well, I, was that? true or not, Jackson, because I thought that ended up being not true. Is it not true? Well, okay, so it's a, it's a funny story. I don't want to be one of those people who's just like, I think that part was true though, because I thought the last night he figured out he was in Romania, right? But in any event, allegedly, one of the ways they figure out he was in Romania, I find it hard to believe any police organization is like, not sure of where a dude they want to arrest is until they see a pizza box. But allegedly, the confirmation they had that he was in Romania was, in this video he made replying to Greta Thernberg,
Starting point is 00:24:29 he puts a pizza box up on the table from this Romanian pizza place or whatever, which by the way, the video, which I did not watch, is the dumbest looking shit ever. He's sitting there in a fucking silk kimono with pizza and a cigar trying to troll back at a 19-year-old who already fucking cut his dick off and threw it on the timeline. You lost, doggie. So the Google say the pizza box story was not true. Ramona Bola, a spokeswoman who was the Directorate of Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism
Starting point is 00:25:07 in Romania. God damn. Seems like someone you'd want to be on the wrong side with, yeah, for sure. Told the Washington Post that the pizza box did not play any role in the detention or its timing and a quote is, it was a hard job gathering all the evidence in the month's long investigation.
Starting point is 00:25:22 That motherfucker's going down, dog. Oh, bro, he's going to sit his ass down, bro. Flack the fuck out. It's all of it. Well, and the other person, and listen, we're not like a pro-police state podcast, obviously, but we also, during the layoff, found out that our other candidate for Booker Boy of the Year, Toy Lanes, was found guilty to the surprise of no one who has watched law and order or read a mystery book.
Starting point is 00:25:45 I don't understand. I have so many friends who apparently were only getting their news about this shit from fucking no jumpers or something. Yeah, no jumper and say cheese. and all that all the bullshit, man. Hey, man, I know that newspapers are boring. I know that they have contributed to systemic inequities. I know that there's too many white people working at him,
Starting point is 00:26:11 but you know what the newspaper is never going to do? Tell you that someone who's about to be convicted in what the jury deliberate for? 16 seconds. They're never going to tell you this motherfucker is being railroaded and he's going to be found not guilty clearly. Like find a boring place and read it That's what the truth said
Starting point is 00:26:33 You're trying to follow one of these stories dog You might have to leave a social media application And type in the address of a newspaper Okay The facts aren't hidden on YouTube Okay Get the fuck out of here Jesus Christ
Starting point is 00:26:50 There was a there was a recording that a actual like she she covers there's this woman on Twitter who actual covers cases and so like she was dropping like the links she was a brand show journalism
Starting point is 00:27:06 she was dropping a bunch of links she had her fucking star moment yeah Megan D reporters she was dropping a bunch of links on things you know like hey this is the this is the things that are going on in the case so there was a there was a video of Kayla and like you know
Starting point is 00:27:20 it was like a long ass video like of her you know testimony right and I listened longer than I should have I was I got deep into that shit you know I was trying to what the fuck really happened if you did paid any attention to like what actually happened in the case there is no fucking way you thought that man was innocent like zero zero chance of him being innocent you know what I'm saying and like it's like it's like it has nothing to do with actual innocence or not you know what I'm saying right I was going to say even if you believe for whatever reason
Starting point is 00:27:56 that powerful people in the world are that concerned about Tori Lane's to set up a conspiracy theory, it was clear just by looking at the witness lists for the prosecution and defense that this dude did not have a real defense. That man's star witness is like, yeah, Tori did that shit.
Starting point is 00:28:17 Like the defense's Starwood is like, yeah, the little guy, Your Honor, the little guy. He hopped out shooting like four or five times. It was him. all five two of that fellow. Like, that was his witness. That was his witness. His witness, bro.
Starting point is 00:28:30 It was just, I don't know. It was just so fucking weird because for one, you know, we knew that Meg got shot. We knew Tori got arrested with, you know, when he was with Meg that night. Meg said Tori shot me. Like, what the fuck else is there to believe beyond that? You know what I'm saying? Like, I don't know why motherfuckers went for years, a couple years on in, you know, hedging on this. Well, we got to see reasonable doubt.
Starting point is 00:28:51 Motherfuckers, they don't never care about reasonable doubt and shit. shit like this, bro. Like trying to turn this shit into a technicality on whose legal team legal the best. Bro, we all know Tori shot that girl and I'm glad he's getting sat down for that shit. Reasonable doubt is five people had guns that they pulled out and shot and there's gunshot residue on five dollars hands. Reasonable doubt is not. Well, maybe if someone else put their finger on the trigger while he was holding the gun, he still could have gotten some GSM on him. Like, that's not what the word reasonable means. That's important. That's important. probable, bro. That's unreasonable.
Starting point is 00:29:28 Anyway, but what links this, and this is why I wanted to bring both these dudes up as our potential award winners here, what links these is we've talked about this on this show a bunch. It is just increasingly true that younger men
Starting point is 00:29:43 see women in this misogynistic horrible way. And there is just, listen, I work with younger people. I've been working with younger people for 15 years. So I've been working with teenagers since I was 23. So I have a very good growth ring, at least in my community, of the small changes from generation to generation. It was social media and technology. Generations feel like they're three or four years long now instead of 20 years, right? But I see this shit all
Starting point is 00:30:10 the time about, you know, the Kevin Samuel shit. The quote- of women are the enemy. You know what I'm saying? Yes, that it is actually not in a Twitter hypothetical, but actually in real life, some sort of battle between men and women. And this is the only thing I wanted to say about it. And I would love to know what y'all think about it. I'm just opening my arms to anyone who feels that way to try and tell you that that is not the way the real world is or has to be in your life. I'm not pointing my finger at you and saying you're a fucking idiot. Like whatever.
Starting point is 00:30:44 Okay. And if you're getting all your news from say cheese, okay, you're probably a fucking idiot. But if you really like, if you're really the pain of finding out as we all find out in your early 20s that the world does not revolve around you, if that pain is so great that it is causing you to blame women for the fact that you are not at the center of the universe as opposed to blaming the universe and the fact that it is as big as it is, you know, I'm opening my arms to you and I'm just saying if you want to reach out and have a conversation, whatever it is, but you have three people on this podcast who, know that that's not the case and we have no reason to lie to you we're not selling you any products we're not trying to get you to sign up for a membership to anything we're just telling you
Starting point is 00:31:28 that's not the way the actual world is so you can put your sword down and your fucking shield down and come live life with people who are not on the internet trying to take money from you by getting you to believe this shit bro
Starting point is 00:31:43 and also like you don't like it's a sad way of existing I remember being in relationships like when I was younger and thinking like I had to force my way of existing we were like battling each other for us to like kind of exist you know like this is the way this is to be whatever I when I realized hey we're teammates and we need to figure out together a way to coexist
Starting point is 00:32:10 that changed my whole you know what I'm saying like that changed my whole experience relationships that was like took me to like my middle 20s, you know, to find it like, oh, damn, like 24. We're teammates. It's not like, she doesn't have to, you know, force me to be a particular way or I don't have to try to, try to, like, convince her to be a particular way. You know, it's just like, yo, we're teammates and let's figure out how to coexist.
Starting point is 00:32:33 You know what I'm saying? That is a much healthier, happier way to exist on this planet. And if you are feeling unique, are being forced away or you have to force somebody, it's not worth being in that relationship. Move on, okay? And also, relationships aren't. Like, dude, they're difficult. There are hard times.
Starting point is 00:32:52 People get hurt. That is a normal part of life, whether it's with a woman or a friend or whatever. Whether it's with your dad or your friend or whoever. Exactly. You know what I'm saying? You're not out here trying to control other people or, bro, you're trying to coexist. That is the best way to approach this shit. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:33:10 And this bullshit you're being fed, it's not going to make you a happier person. This motherfucker was out here trafficking humans, probably other women. You know what I'm saying? You think that's a happy, fucking healthy way to exist on this planet? He's a sick fucking individual. You know what I'm saying? And anybody following that shit is that's going to lead you down that same fucking path. Like, dog, it's not the way to exist.
Starting point is 00:33:40 Coexisting is the best way to approach this shit and the happiest and healthiest way. and if you can't coexist, move on. There are a lot of people out here. You know what I'm saying? Just get out here. But I just, I just, that way of existing, the bullshit you've been taught is like, like you're going to be happy or more successful. This is what's going to fill the hole.
Starting point is 00:34:03 It's not. It's not. It's not. It's going to worsen whatever situation you're already in. You know what I'm saying? I just, I just cannot imagine for the people who do follow the bullshit advice of people like, you know, Andrew Tate or whoever the fuck. Like, how exhausting does that have to be?
Starting point is 00:34:20 Because the whole shit is rooted in manipulation. You're not being yourself at any moment. You're working the whole, you know, show affection then, you know, refoke your affection, you know, borderline abusive shit. Right, right. You're pivoting back and forth between those two dynamics. Like, how exhausting has that got to be for you to just not be yourself with with any interactions, bro?
Starting point is 00:34:39 Like, I couldn't imagine. And, you know, I'm just saying, dog, like, I know a lot of, you know, young 20s, mid-20s folks listen to it, which was just, you know, his whole fucking demographic, bro, just be yourself. Like, just be your motherfucker yourself. Right on. And for one, if you are following that, you know, Tate, like, listen, bro, that motherfucker's a millionaire with Lamborghinis.
Starting point is 00:34:57 Like, he can be a dickhead to women. You and that Honda Civic camp, bro. You know what I'm saying? For one, you know, let's take it there. But two, bro, like I said, just be yourself because I can't imagine how it's sultan has to be to not be yourself, you know, in a relationship or in situations like that. I'm a keep it a stack. When I was trying to be cool,
Starting point is 00:35:14 It worked a little bit, but when I was just myself out here on my car heart shit being a country-ass nigger, bro, wins were had, okay? Like, bro, people fuck with people that are comfortable being themselves because you, for whatever reason, that makes other people being comfortable, feel more comfortable being themselves around you. You know what I mean? Like, that's how I thought. That's what I've experienced. The more comfortable I was around myself, the more comfortable people were around me. You know what I'm saying? And I'm just like dog, just be yourself, bro.
Starting point is 00:35:46 And you don't want to be with anybody where you have to be somebody else to exist. It's not worth it. And you know what I'm saying? And like Tyler was saying, it's an exhausting experience. And this is the other thing, Shar and I have noticed and we talked about this is we have a lot of friends who are women in their 20s who are attractive, intelligent, and who are doing very well financially or who are doing fine financially, who are sing. and who wished that they were not single, but who told us stories like, I go on a date with someone and they break out a list.
Starting point is 00:36:19 Or I'm texting with someone and they send me a new picture of themselves that I did not want them to send me or some shit, right? I don't know any men in their 20s who are attractive, intelligent, and doing well financially who want to be in a relationship who are not in a relationship. The supply and demand is fucked up because too many of you, are following the advice of these people who are profiting off of the hole that you feel in your chest off of your idiocy
Starting point is 00:36:49 yeah but I'm just but so no no no but that's fair like you're being taken advantage of so I'm just saying we need you back we need you back in the real world with real fucking people and whatever you need to do to come back do the shit you just can you could cancel the subscription to whatever you subscribe to and come back to the regular real world bro I won't say
Starting point is 00:37:11 idiocy if you're like in your younger 20, you know, the early 20s. It's in your 30s, sure, insecurity. It's insecurity. And maybe ignorance. You know what I'm saying? In your 30s, it's fucking idiocy. You know what I'm saying? But I'll say this is like, thank God we didn't grow up at the time that these kids have to grow up now. I mean, sincerely, the stuff that we went through in my family or whatever when I was 13, 14, 15, 16,
Starting point is 00:37:32 who knows who would have plucked me off the fucking stem and ground me up and put me in the fucking holster of their gun? You know what I mean? Like, who fucking knows? I'd like to think it'd be easy for me with my brain now to navigate the shit, but I see it all the time with like I said, like normal people where it's just like we didn't have solutions to shit when we were 16. We just had to sit there and feel like shit. You know what I mean? Figure out how to change or grow or whatever. So anyway.
Starting point is 00:37:59 It doesn't have to be this way. You know what I mean? It doesn't have to be this way. I promise, bro. All right. In addition to idiotic misogynist getting themselves locked up, there were sports things happening while we were on our break as well, including a good old-fashioned freak-off in the NBA.
Starting point is 00:38:21 That's been all year almost. It seems like all year. This has been the most ridiculous season of stats I think I've ever seen so far. Zubach has a 30-29 game? Zubak, you know what I'm saying? Right, right, right. Like everybody's going crazy. Luca has a 60-2010 game, I believe for the first time in NBA history.
Starting point is 00:38:43 Yes. No, yes, yes, yes, yes. He's doing something. He's doing by Janus going back to back 40-20 for the first time since Will. While Yokic is kind of retaking the lead for a third MVP in a row, like it's been some stupid stat lines. And I agree with you guys, this has been the year of wild and crazy stat lines. but it does feel to me like that end of December pickup to where teams are starting to really play for it all. That's happened because all of a sudden it went from me kind of feeling like it was blowouts everywhere to every night almost.
Starting point is 00:39:18 It feels like it's just been an incredible game. What does Luke have to do to win MVP? Be a top three seat. I think that's what it's going down to this season. Everybody going crazy. It's going to come down to seeding. I understand that, but we talked about how Westbrook 1-1 as a 16. seat, right? Yeah, that ain't going to fly.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Because Westbrook was the only one really, really going crazy. It wasn't any 40-20s out there. He's the number one seat in the west. You know what I'm saying? Yonis is a number two seat in the east. Tatum is a number one seat in the east. You know what I'm saying? It's hard, you know, hey, I know you had 34 a night, but you know what I'm saying? You're in a play-in, my nigga. You know what I'm saying? I think they're in the sixth seat right now, not the seventh, but, you know.
Starting point is 00:40:00 Yeah, yeah, that's, I think that's what's going to come down to this season. though. Lucas, he's just having such a fucking good year. Dude, this 60. What, 60 and 21? 60, 20? 60 20. At 10? Nicker.
Starting point is 00:40:17 And then he said he needed a beer after that. Like I've told y'all, if this white boy was American, if he was an American, he would be the biggest thing in sports. I don't think I'm exaggerating American sports. Period. Bro. Period. Period.
Starting point is 00:40:30 Do. 60, 21 and 10. He leads his team. back from nine down with 35 seconds less, hits that crazy-ass game tying shit, and then cooks-day-ass in O-T, bro. You know what I'm saying? Like, nigger, he's doing shit that Wilt has not done. Right.
Starting point is 00:40:51 Will Chamberlain hasn't done what he did. Like, Will, nigga. Like, bro, Wilt at Elgin Baylor has done everything everybody's done. Right. You know what I'm saying? Except for this. Yeah, that was my entire comment. I mean, you're basically playing
Starting point is 00:41:08 Madlibs if you're doing shit on a basketball court that Will Chamberlain didn't do. Right, right, right. Crazy. Crazy. I don't know. I'm excited. I tell you what, I'm very excited for the next four months. Especially with how wide open. Like you said, it's going to be an alien off.
Starting point is 00:41:24 It's going to be a freak off. It's going to be a fucking freak off. It's going to be, it's your turn. You have, who wants to see to respond. Who wants to see the, four-headed baby in a jar. You feel
Starting point is 00:41:38 me? Nigel. Tonight on SVP. It's crazy. It's crazy right now, bro. Brian's going for 40 and like eight people talk about it. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:41:49 47 on his birthday. And a hundred years old. You know what I'm saying? Because that's like that's really normal this year. It's really normal this year. A 47 point game. It's very average. It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:42:02 So on his 38th. birthday, LeBron James goes for 47 points on I believe 27 shots, 15 to 27 shooting. On LeBron's 38th birthday, I also 38 years old was icing my calf
Starting point is 00:42:18 because the travel day we had was too long. Somebody quote tweeted and said he said he traveled too hard. That's exactly right. Tyler, remember you're talking about like the aisle seat and the like everybody wants the the the window seat I have to take an
Starting point is 00:42:41 aisle seat have to I can't see anywhere else because my knees are so trash they're in pain from bending a lot to keep them straight you know what I'm saying like it's not annoying always tucking your shit in with someone else to walk past and all that bro I mean not compared to the pain of my knees because I'm an old man you know what I mean like if somebody would have offered me that like the aisle seat I would have stashed it up quickly because I'm old I can't even enjoy a window seat anymore. And it's more convenient too because you're laying on the window. Yeah, you can lay on that motherfuckering.
Starting point is 00:43:09 Bro, no. Can't enjoy it. Ruined for me. Because of old age. I still have a baby foot on my right foot. Still looks like a swollen up baby foot because we flew two days ago. What happened? It's ugly out here, dog.
Starting point is 00:43:27 I got my fucking calf's all fucked up too. LeBron also Savannah. up Savannah James posted on his birthday on New Year's Eve. Brab really might be the only relatable billionaire in history, bro. He's sitting there playing Madden. She's filming him on her IG saying
Starting point is 00:43:46 this is how I'm going to ring in the new year? And the look he gave her. Come on, babe. Here we go again with this. Right, right. You don't really do this to me. You know what I'm saying? Let me go.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Let me finish the day. You know what I'm saying? Just, that little smirk, you know? Like, he'd been here before, but also, like, cannot finish it. But also the excitement of it, too. Like, he literally, like, he was, like, he was, like, it was childlike almost. Like, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:44:17 Oh, man. He was happy to be in her video. Right, right, right, right, right. He plays on everybody's television every night, but he was in Savannah's video. He made Savannah's IG story that night, you know what I'm saying? For sure. We started listening it off, you know, like, oh, we were in Atlanta for my birthday. I got the win for you.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Like, all right. Love it, love it, love it. Let's talk about Nas Reid being asked on Sunday if it's a mystery to the Timberwolves, why they're underachieving. And he said, and I quote, not really. We know. We know. we know why. And, you know, I'm going to kind of keep that in house,
Starting point is 00:45:07 but we know why. Dog, listen. Oh, ho, ho. Yeah. Listen. And certain that genesis, I'm Listen, we have no idea exactly what he's talking about.
Starting point is 00:45:23 I think all of us have a good idea what he's talking about. And when you have a guy like Rudy on your team, who is like the biggest punching bag in the NBA, you can't leave shit up to speculation like that, bro. Because we are all. going to pile on Rudy in this situation, bro. I don't give a fuck if he was holding up a picture of DeAngelo Russell while he said that
Starting point is 00:45:40 shit. The quote is talking about Rudy. Bro, I was, I was, there was a particular NBA player. I'll tell y'all off camera who I was who I was talking to. But he told me that nobody respects Rudy in the league. Nobody except the owners. Only the owners in the GMs think he think he's good. Nobody else does.
Starting point is 00:46:01 Nobody else respects him or fucks me. You know what I'm saying? It's so like when somebody says something like that, you know what I mean? Like what he said, like what Nasri said, and I hear shit like this from a player, Nick.
Starting point is 00:46:13 Can I say that? Can I say that information? Can I share that information? I would take you one further. I have heard from an NBA player that Rudy Gobert specifically is the cause of a lot of the players disrespect towards the analytics community.
Starting point is 00:46:31 Because the numbers all say Rudy is blank, blank, blank, blank, and the players all say, I don't give a fuck. He's a fucking trash. And then the playoffs show us Terrence Mann and Reggie Jackson taking turns on him to send the Utah Jazz home. Right? So, I mean, he is a dude who gets played off the floor in the playoffs, bro. In the defensive player.
Starting point is 00:46:51 After winning a defensive player of the year. Was it a four time now? And he's a liability on defense? Nigger the fuck, how does it make sense? How does that make sense? But I was asking this player this. because, and this is the same thing with baseball, athletes are the most pro-analytics people you ever.
Starting point is 00:47:07 They're pro anything that keeps them performing and getting paid. Right, right, right, right. And so I ask, I say, is this, I mean, honestly, is it just a dorky racial thing? Is it just like, oh, all the analytics people seem like dorky or white guys? Like, why is there this disconnect? Because all the professional basketball players I know are obsessed with analytics. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:47:25 What can you show me that I'm not seeing? You know what I mean? What's something I need to be better at that I'm not aware of? And yet when you hear any of these guys talk about analytics, very rarely is it like, oh, yeah, analytics. It really helped me sharpen my game. You know what I mean? And that was his response. He said, it's Rudy Gobert.
Starting point is 00:47:43 He said, all the analytics people talk about all his value and all this shit and the players look at each other and go, him? This guy? Food? Food? The guy we see is food when going to the lane to fuck? Get up. It's the last Monday night game of the regular season. so make sure you make every moment more tonight by downloading Fandul, America's number one sportsbook.

Huge game between the Bills and the Bengals, very excited about that one. I am a big Bengals guy. Obviously, we've got Joe Kuhl over here on the volume, so I'm going to go with the Bengals. I like him to win and to cover. I like the player props for Joe Burrow. That's what I would build my same-game parlay around.

Starting point is 00:49:35 a Brown team that I think was eliminated from playoff contention two weeks ago, which is never a team you want to see yourself lose to handily in that situation. But what really caught my eye yesterday was Ron Rivera, who I want to add, by the way, I have a lot of respect for Ron Rivera as a coach. Me too, which is why I was so surprised to see a reporter asking him, if they're looking at, you know, one of the non-starting quarterbacks now that they've been eliminated. And Ron Rivera stared at this dude and blink like four times and said, we were eliminated today? That's crazy, though.
Starting point is 00:50:12 Yeah, I think they told him if the Vikings beat the Pack. If the Packers beat the Vikings, which they did. That they'd be eliminated, which they did. So, yeah, the manners are out of it. But it's at the point now. It's like, bro, like this is what you expect with that franchise. I'm not even robbed up. I'm not like, oh, the incompetency.
Starting point is 00:50:30 Like, bro, like, okay. Like, I mean, for one, the season is over. And two, Ron ain't give a fuck, obviously. And join the club because I ain't give a fuck either. So whom step I? Whomst am I to cast a stone here. None of us give a fuck anymore, bro. The best thing that happened this season with the commanders is the big hat craze.
Starting point is 00:50:55 props to them for getting that going because I love that shit. I want me a big hat, but not a goddamn Mander's big hat. Tyle, you want a big hat? What big hat would you get? I do. You wanted to be annoying, right? This is what's going on? Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:51:08 I would never wear it in earnest. You ain't pulling it up at a bar with a big hat on? Nah. I always did want to go to a bar in like an NFL helmet, though. Regular clothes, regular outfit, you know, like my jean jacket and some joggers and fucking NFL helmet and just take shots and shit. I bet you'd be a great conversation. By yourself?
Starting point is 00:51:32 Yeah, I think being going by myself, adds to the intrigue there. Yeah, for sure, for sure, for sure. I just sent you all a screenshot of a Packers Corner, Jair Alexander, in one of the giant hats with the Green Bay logo on it, giving a scrum after the game where he said, tell Shannon Sharp and Skip Baylis,
Starting point is 00:51:52 they need to watch what they say when they talk about me. You feel me? they need to watch what they put out talking about he a good corner i'm a great corner does the hat help or hurt his argument it helps it helps because because he's he's suit and tie all business on that motherfucking football field and he was you know a fucking you know clown in the locker room with that shit but he does he made well he wants to make sure you still take him seriously even when he's clowning i respect a man like that i'm a love it i think the hat adds Initially I'm like this shit nigger look goofy saying like serious shit with this hat on
Starting point is 00:52:28 But I But that position is about irrational confidence I think if I'm if I'm in front of this man with that hat on Saying that I think the hat actually frightens me When being serious with that big ass hat on That's an odd juxtaposition it's frightening you know what I mean It's like a bear doing a threat display It's like so big you just kind of lock up
Starting point is 00:52:51 Like, whoa. This is uncomfortable. You know what I mean? I should be laughing, but I'm frightened. Yeah, this is, I think it definitely adds. I think it definitely adds. All right. We learned something on Twitter or, and I didn't spend much time on Twitter during our break,
Starting point is 00:53:07 but I did see something. And I wanted to know if you guys were aware of this. Are you guys aware that in Chicago they refer to Jordans as mics? And they, they refer to forces as Faso, G. Faso. I've never heard. The mics. Yeah, the mics thing been going on since,
Starting point is 00:53:25 like I had homies in college from Chicago used to call him that shit. But the Faisos thing, I think G. Erbo just made that shit kind of popping, right? I mean, it's been since around that time when I've been hearing people saying it, but it was like 2010,
Starting point is 00:53:37 it was like, you know, cheap keep era. You know what I'm saying? All white G. Phasos, yeah. Yeah, because I think G. Erbo's homie was Fazo who, like, passed away and he used to wear them shits all the time. I think that's where it came from.
Starting point is 00:53:50 But I hear, I'll hear random people say mics though, not just from Chicago. I hear people say mics. Yeah. I saw the tweet like that Chicago dude got his ass letter. He found out very quickly that was just a Chicago thing, bro. Yeah, because he said, he said calling him Jordan sounds so suburban, which is just like, wait, what?
Starting point is 00:54:09 He said calling Mike's Jordan sounds so suburban. Bro, he'll phone him-ass nigger from Chicago. No, that's a real one. You feel me? I respect people. Chicago has a lot of people like this. New York does for sure. L.A., Long Beach,
Starting point is 00:54:29 Compton do for sure, where it's like you're so in the walls of your own community that you just have never really even looked over the edge. And Chicago's one of those cities where you can go platinum in your city. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:54:42 Like, like, I mean, this is not literally platinum. Like, you know, Joe Fresh Goods still lived in Chicago, his whole life. Blown to fuck. up started off with just with a ton of Chicago love and it's made
Starting point is 00:54:54 a ton of money from making Chicago shit like pro Chicago shit you know if you feel me so I mean it makes sense well you ain't got to go nowhere you know what I'm saying? This Chicago is one of them fucking cities yeah Chicagoans love the shit out of Chicago and they love Chicago in a very unique way where a lot of people love their city in comparison to other cities like this is the best city
Starting point is 00:55:13 in world this city is better than your city Chicagoans they they are just you know singularly focused on how great Chicago is right like Chicago people People, like New Yorkers, for instance, they like talking to everyone else about how great New York is. Chicagoans just want to talk to Chicagoans about how great Chicago is, right? Like, that's kind of how Chicagoans are. And they're not going to argue with you shit about your city.
Starting point is 00:55:33 They're just going to tell you about Chicago. Yeah. And I'll be, there's, there's cities that, like, they think there's Chicago niggas, bro. I love a shit. I'm almost guaranteed to love a Chicago-ass nigger, bro. You know what I'm saying? Cool-ass niggas, too, bro. Like, legit.
Starting point is 00:55:50 actually cool motherfuckers, bro. All right. We did our late entrance for Booger Boy of the Year, so I've got to get in a, and I need Tyler to do the sound effect for me, but my, that's a devil of the year. That's a devil.
Starting point is 00:56:05 Who is this devil? Southwest Airlines. Southwest Airlines. The biggest devil of the mall last week. That's for sure a devil. Man, we don't go anywhere. Courtney, she didn't make it to Christmas because of them fuck-ass niggas.
Starting point is 00:56:20 There you go, bro. My aunt didn't make it to my brother's wedding over it. And basically, we'll talk about the trip actually in a minute because I want to talk about New Orleans. But like, half, literally half the people going to my brother's wedding. We were like at LAX. The flight was delayed by like six or seven hours. We were literally just sitting there to see if they could find a pilot.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Or half of his wedding was not going to be at the wedding. Bro, that was happening in a lot of different. I know. In America Airlines, all this. Like waiting on pilots, waiting on stewardesses is crazy. But the thing with Southwest, and this is why I wanted to bring this up, because like, we don't go anywhere. We don't do shit. So when I see stories like Southwest canceled 66% of their flights, four days in a row, it's just sort of like it's kind of a number.
Starting point is 00:57:07 But when I'm sitting there in the hospital and there's some people stressed as fuck, and I'm thinking about like, it's probably some people on this flight trying to make it to see a relative before they pass away, trying to get somewhere for a birth. like whatever it is or like a wedding like in the case of me in our group or a woman missed her own wedding she missed her own wedding her kids made it her husband made it she missed her own wedding they were telling people on December 26
Starting point is 00:57:33 when we were there come back on January 3rd we don't got any money for your hotel we don't got any money for a rental car come back and see us in a week bro I'm just telling you right now and we were nothing but kind obviously the people who are working like we're interfacing with it wasn't their fault they
Starting point is 00:57:54 obviously had a very shitty week but that is an evil company bro yeah that is fucking evil though didn't didn't the shit fall apart because they use this antiquated ass way of they track flights by the flight crew or some shit and that system like went to shit isn't that how everything crumbled or yeah it was a couple of different things the first thing that fucked him was that their hubs were in Denver and Chicago. So when that polar, what do they call the cyclone? Bomb cyclone. When that hit like a good chunk of their fleet froze.
Starting point is 00:58:29 And that John's right, that that did that fucked up a lot of airlines. But the other airlines got back online like the next day. Whereas Southwest, literally the day we flew home December 30th was the day they climbed out of the mess. That was the first day they ran more than half of their scheduled flights. because of the system that Tyler was talking about, which literally meant, and we're talking to the people on our airport about it,
Starting point is 00:58:53 or at the airport about it, they literally would like call and just try and be like, yo, I'm in fucking Milwaukee, like, what flight am I supposed to get on right now? Or can you book me a hotel? Like,
Starting point is 00:59:04 I'm just at the airport. They would call Southwest and be on hold for like five hours. The employees. God damn. Hell no. They didn't have enough people working to update the app to say that our flight had been delayed. Our flight said on time three hours after it was delayed.
Starting point is 00:59:22 Like, and people, people like, they, they, they, they do this, this shit in a cheap way and it allows them to have cheaper flights.
Starting point is 00:59:29 Some flights don't be cheap. You got to upgrade your software, bro. It's 2020. Bro. 2023 now. You can't skimp on software in any industry, bro.
Starting point is 00:59:39 Like, give it to the AI to fit whatever you need to do, but like, unless, unless you like, you know, like government. like the government
Starting point is 00:59:47 their fucking soft like that shit is ridiculous how they go about doing shit but yeah other than that yeah but this is the only way we got me and Char
Starting point is 00:59:56 and my mom and a bunch of other people in my brother's wedding they flew a pilot from Oakland to L.A to fly our plane from L.A. to New Orleans that's the only way
Starting point is 01:00:07 that it happened this dude just he was like sitting in Oakland he was like give me a fucking flight and someone for and they just they couldn't
Starting point is 01:00:13 because their system wasn't working so someone like like literally happened to have this dude's number. I was like, we do have a flight going from Oakland, L.A. We have a flight for you here. He was like, cool. That's not a good system, bro. That's not a good system, dog.
Starting point is 01:00:27 Period. That's the coolest. I was going to say, that's the coolest pilot since Mongoos, bro. Shout to that, man. Respect. My sister's, my sister's bags, she says she doesn't have them. Like, her bags made it to Charlotte, but she didn't make it.
Starting point is 01:00:44 Like, the fuck like come on jay like just you know like it's just ridiculous still ain't got her fucking back shit that she was the um
Starting point is 01:00:53 all right well y'all had been before you'd been telling me how great it was so I just wanted to say uh as my as our last well not our last segment but I just want to say
Starting point is 01:01:03 I mean New Orleans was everything that you guys and everyone else made it out to be I mean holy shit what a city man special fucking city it's right up there at the top of the list for me
Starting point is 01:01:13 and the people like automatically at the top of the list. You know what I mean? Just incredible, incredible people. I told you all about like, we have this crazy travel day, right? We get to New Orleans.
Starting point is 01:01:24 We go to the taxi stand to go get a cab into the city. And my mom is like, she's trying to get the address for her Airbnb. So she's kind of like fumbling with her phone, right? And the woman is an older black woman. She just put her, she put a hand on my mom's arm. She's like,
Starting point is 01:01:39 we, we in a hurry. It's all good. And my mom like was just, My mom was about to burst into tears, bro. That's exactly what you're doing here. She'd been thinking for 24 hours she might miss her son's wedding. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:01:52 And this woman was like, I have nothing but time for you. You made it. You made it. You made it. And then they hit you with the baby. You know what I mean? Ooh. That shit feel like, like, you know, like when you got, like you eating grits, you know,
Starting point is 01:02:06 take you back to her. You know what I mean? That baby? Like, that's comforting in a way. Stick to your ribs. Yeah, you know what I'm saying? For sure. It's comfortable.
Starting point is 01:02:14 like that, you know what I mean? Sheesh. Yeah, yeah. I love New Orleans. I love the people, love the food, love the aesthetic of the city. You know, like, like, we were talking about it. It's a city that is, like, intentionally, like, stuck in, like, 1850 and not in a backwards way. Not in a, I need to get my black ass out of his
Starting point is 01:02:31 slave-ass city. It's not, it's, it's, it's, like, stuck in a, in that period in a very charming way, in a very charming way. And I love that city. And I've always said, like, New Orleans, like, music is part of the infrastructure. You know what I mean? It's like it's music just exists everywhere.
Starting point is 01:02:49 You know what I mean? It's just a special, special city. It's not as, like I said, if we were to travel to throughout the entire Milky Way, you know what I mean? We would not find another New Orleans anymore. Right. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:03:02 It's the only one in the entire, you know what I'm saying, the entire universe is crazy. So the way that if Tyler cooked for us, he put something incredible in front of us and then he just sort of sat back and he's like, what do you think? You know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:03:13 that's how that's how all the cab drivers were the lift drivers who you know we'd be like where are you from and we'd be like oh we're from long beach you know and they'd sort of let us sit like okay long beach is it's worth asking a follow-up question and they look at us and be like so what you think of the city you know just be like you city's fucking vomit spurious special i told one of the dudes exactly what tyler was just talking about like if you go to wikiki or like you go to anywhere in america this like a famous place that used to have a culture, it all looks like the fucking mall now, right? Like it's all been kind of like
Starting point is 01:03:49 everything's the same design, everything's the same stores. I just told him like, you know, walking around Frenchmen and Bourbon Street and I think it was Royal Street that all the art galleries around. We just walked around.
Starting point is 01:04:01 I was like, I couldn't believe it. Like the only chain on Bourbon Street is hustler. Larry Flint's hustler. That's the only chain. Debochery. You know what I mean? don't got no subways or dominoes or was a woman swinging out of that shit like i think when i when i first
Starting point is 01:04:17 went there was like a woman on a on a on a swing swinging in and out of the window you know what i mean i was like and like this the street is skinny as fuck you know what i mean right right it was just like this is exactly what tyler said and it wasn't it's not like uh we're so conservative it's just that like we don't give a fuck don't tell us about we can make more money doing this whatever right it's good the way it is. Right, right, right. And it was just something so refreshing about that. Yeah, but the whole city that you said the food was great.
Starting point is 01:04:47 Obviously, the people were just, the people, I've talked about being from Long Beach. It's like Oakland, Memphis, Atlanta, a little bit for sure. And then like New Orleans, in terms of people who remind me of the people in my city, this just like, cool but not clingy, you know what I mean, and genuinely interested in making sure that you're good. It was, yeah, I mean, we've been all over. Sharr and I have been all over the country. We've really been in pretty much every major city except the ones in Florida.
Starting point is 01:05:14 And that's right at the top of my list, man. I mean, we'll be back for sure. I did say, John, I did tell John, it is apparently the home of Anthony Mackie. And he is beloved there, bro. It's wild. That's wild. That's wild. He's from New Orleans.
Starting point is 01:05:30 And he reps the city hard. He still lives there. The lift driver, who I'm obviously not going to name, was like, don't tell nobody I told you, but that's his house right there. was he really out there was he reping was he reping new orleans when he said all lives matter was he reping new orleans did it it actually did but you know what it actually did kind of it actually did kind of help me understand the context for who he is a little bit because uh i think if you talk to some black people from long beach similarly their context for white
Starting point is 01:06:02 people is a little different you know what i mean like yeah because white people from long beach to not the normal white people. And I would say New Orleans is the only city I've ever been to where I would say that I fucked with the white people there. I was telling you, like what's wild? A New Orleans white is a different
Starting point is 01:06:20 kind of a white, bro. I don't remember. I was like, was it Creole or something? I don't think I've do you remember when we went to New Orleans? Do you remember talking to a white person? I do. And I remember it was like four in the morning. We were at a breakfast spot and they knew that we were tourists and they and they were, they were, they were recommending shit for us to get into at like four, five in the morning, bro.
Starting point is 01:06:40 I was like, we're like, I'm not with you. I think you might have been. I know for sure Tanisha was with me. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. But yeah,
Starting point is 01:06:48 you guys know, Tunisia was our damn tour guy. Shosh man, that's my only for real. But, but, yeah, like, and I remember they were telling me to,
Starting point is 01:06:55 you know, like, what to get into right now. I was like, dog, we're about to go to sleep. It's four in the morning. If it was born in the morning, I wanted to go. If it was born in a morning,
Starting point is 01:07:03 I wanted with you, bro. I ain't never been that nigga. I think I've been that nigga three times my entire life, bro. So I care. But maybe New Orleans would make me do that. Actually, no, that I wasn't with you. Because we were about to leave in the morning. We were driving in the morning.
Starting point is 01:07:17 Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. But that was a crazy weekend, gee. Like, I think Brian won his first ship that weekend. Right? You know what I'm saying? We were like, we met up with Kellyn. I had the boot-and sausage and the fucking... First time we kicked it with Beaumani and Michael Smith.
Starting point is 01:07:35 And Michael, Michael, Michael, Michael Smith, yeah, you know what I'm saying? That was crazy. But I think Eddie rode off on the fucking horse and carriage also, you know what I'm saying? You're out of that, blah, fucking cool-ass thing. That was a great weekend, bro. That was a hell of a weekend, gee. They need a vegetable the entire weekend. They need a single vegetable the entire weekend.
Starting point is 01:08:02 Are red beans a vegetable? Huh? Crawfish were our vegetables, bro. Exactly. Are beans vegetables? No, red beans? No, we ain't called. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:08:10 I don't know. Did you all eat vegetables at all? Outside of the wedding. They didn't have any vegetables at a wedding either. Okay. It was a pork chop with some. Bro, New Orleans is just so, God, it's so special. I got to get back a shot.
Starting point is 01:08:24 That's where all this favorite city, too. She has the Mississippi River, the portion that goes to New Orleans, tattooed on her arm. It's her favorite city on her. That's a favorite. That's tight. She loves it. She loves it. We got to get a Jenkins and Jones tour.
Starting point is 01:08:37 You know what I mean? I'm thinking. Richmond, Atlanta, New Orleans, St. Louis, Long Beach, LA. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, let's do it. Hey, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We sat next to, we had breakfast in a diner our first day there, and there were a couple
Starting point is 01:08:58 like white construction workers next to us. And they're telling, one of them was telling the story about, like, Like, oh, my boss is feeding us today. He rented out this expensive restaurant because it was the day after Christmas. You know, he ran out this expensive restaurant. And the dude sitting next to him said, see if he could slide one more motherfucker in there. And I like looked over. I like, I looked over like sharp as fuck.
Starting point is 01:09:19 I was like, what? Never seen a white fight like that. That city is different, bro. That city is different, gee. Yeah, we'd never see what. So this is the last thing I wanted to say. When Brian Kelly from Boston, Massachusetts was hired as a football coach at LSU, he faked a Southern accent in his intro speech.
Starting point is 01:09:44 He said, me and my family. And at the time, I thought it was funny. And I made fun of Brian Kelly. And now that I've been to New Orleans and I have experienced the New Orleans Caucasian, that is a protected class of person. We have to protect the New Orleans white. Endangered. Brian Kelly, you cannot steal the culture.
Starting point is 01:10:05 You cannot appropriate the culture of the New Orleans white. Take that accent off. I remember when that hire happened and I was like, how was this a culture fit? Brian Kelly thinks Sprite is spicy. And I remember Sarah's face shouting me out on Around the Horn and quoted that shit. So, that's a Sarah, man. That's fucking perfect. Yeah, well, yeah, I'll tell you y'all some shit about that off air too.
Starting point is 01:10:31 All right, before we get out of here, I know y'all both had something to say. We found out yesterday that Gangsta Boo would pass. I know y'all both wanted to talk about that. So before we get out of here, I wanted to give you guys a chance to say your piece about that. Yeah, man. That news just fucked me up, bro. Stomack dropped when I saw. Gangsta Boo, she was just so important.
Starting point is 01:10:56 You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, during the time in the 90s where, you know, lots of. of people didn't view Southern rap as legitimate. Lots of people didn't view, you know, woman rap as legitimate. She was like at the inner, she was a force at the intersection of all that that showed you the South was not to be
Starting point is 01:11:13 fucked with and women on the mic were not to be fucked with. She was so cold. I remember my introduction to 3-6 was the tear the club up video. Yes, yes. That's 97. 96. 96, 96, 97. Yeah, yeah. Like, like, 960. Presby year of high school, yeah.
Starting point is 01:11:29 Yeah. And I remember the, if you haven't seen the video go YouTube that shit crazy the energy is off the fucking meter crazy the whole time the whole time and gangsta boo was the star of that shit to me she's the one who hopped out you know when I first saw that shit and and she's so young 43 like like like that kind of put shit in perspective for me I was like bro she was like 1617 on tether club up like when when three six took off summer 2000 sipping on some syrup I think that's what really got three six out there she was like 20 you know what I mean and and she was like you know a four or five deep album that at that point
Starting point is 01:12:01 It's just, you know, she was our legend, like I said, Southern rap legend, a woman rap legend, man. It's just a hell of a loss. She was, when Terter Club Up, I was 14, so she was probably 17. She's three years older than me. You know what I mean? And, like, holding her own in that way. When I listen, 3-6 and Bone Thugs are probably the two people. I mean, three-six bone thugs, I think A-Ball and MJG and Outcast, like when I heard their music, wow, never heard this shit before, right?
Starting point is 01:12:27 You know what I'm saying? One of the ones, yeah. And when I listen to Three-Six, I hear. her voice. You know what I'm saying? When I remember three, six verses her. You know what? She stood out crazy.
Starting point is 01:12:37 You know, a popular-ass group, a group that I'd ever heard music like that. A, like the, my first time hearing Memphis rap and Memphis is so important to rap. You know what I'm saying? And it's her voice that I hear.
Starting point is 01:12:49 You know what I mean? So, it's, wow. So young. 43, 43. Like you said, it puts a lot of perspective. I thought she was, I couldn't imagine her,
Starting point is 01:12:57 like the way she were rapping, how she moved and carried herself at 17. You know what I'm saying? Standing 10 toes like that, you know what I mean? Among the people that she was, you know, moving around. Like it was, bro, just special, special, special, you know, rapper. So, yeah, man.
Starting point is 01:13:13 And people that know that met her said she was so cool. I think it's South by where there. She was there one year. And they were talking about just how cool she was. Just how cool and personable. She was like a legend. But just like just so personable and cool and approachable. So, yeah.
Starting point is 01:13:28 I mean, from her, like, you know, from her Twitter, Like she stayed, you know, you know, shouting out the younger generation of women rappers. They stayed, you know, being someone they can lean on, always support. And just, you know, just seemed like a real solid person. Like I said, a rap legend in the South, you know, and when we talk southern rap and a legend when we talk women rap, man. She was just featured on like a lotto and glowrilla song, you know what I'm saying? Like, just, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:13:55 Crazy. All right. I mean, I think you could say, I think you can say she's probably like the godmother of female Southern rap. I think you can say that. For sure. For sure. Someone had pointed out that
Starting point is 01:14:08 she's probably the only female member of a legendary rap group. We've had female rappers who have been parts of collectives, of clicks. Like, you know, Little Kim was down with bad boy, you know, but that wasn't necessarily a group.
Starting point is 01:14:22 I wouldn't necessarily call Junior Mafia a legendary group. You wouldn't say Fujis? But you say there were, I mean, Fujis got one classic, right? One out one classic. One out one classic. The school.
Starting point is 01:14:32 that ass album that I fuck with you yeah yeah you might be able to say that but but yeah I mean to just like consistently do it album after alma for like years on years like it gangsta boo might be like in that panty out by herself yeah yeah all right fellas uh appreciate you all sharing that uh we will be back on thursday morning 7 a m 10 am west coast east coast on the amazon amp app or you can catch us and all the other feeds after that um good to good to talk to you guys again good to, I guess we're not technically talking to people who are listening to it, but it feels like we are as good to, good to be back. It was a nice rest and we'll see you all in a couple days.
Starting point is 01:15:09 Hope everyone's new year is off to a good start. Bye. Bye.
