The volume.
This is an I-Heart podcast.
Guaranteed Human.
Another podcast from some SNL, late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
On the Look Back at it podcast.
From 1979, that was a big moment for me.
84 was big to me.
I'm Sam J.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it.
With our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors.
Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.
84 was a wild year.
It was a wild year.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
Listen to Superhuman on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, what's good, y'all?
You're listening to Learn the Hard Way with your favorite therapist and host Kear Games.
This space is about black men's experiences, having honest conversations that it's really not safe to have anywhere, but you're having them with a licensed professional who knows what he's doing.
How many men carry a suit or armor?
It signals to the world that you're not to be played with.
And just because you have the capability that does not mean that you need to.
Listen to learn the hard way on the AHA radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast.

Welcome to Jenkins and Jones on the Volume Podcast Network.
It's Monday, November 22nd, and we've got another jam-packed.
show. Before we get into it, a little bit of a programming note, we are not recording on Wednesday.
Your boys are actually going to take a Thanksgiving break. We figure you probably have other
shit to do on Thanksgiving. Then listen to us talk about poop. So we will be back next week.
And pee. Do not forget pee. We have a jam-packed episode with poop and pee today.
but as always Jenkins and Jones is hosted by my good friends Dragonfly Jones aka Tyler
hey everybody how we good
The Jetro Jenkins aka John
Was that Bubba's
And I'm Gartie B. A.k.a. Mike and yes because we elected to take the middle of the week off
We are cramming two episodes worth of stupid bullshit into one episode today
So congratulations to you
but before we
talk about the stupid bullshit
we have to talk about
spiritual real life bullshit
I know this has been weighing on all three of us
but the rapper young Dolph was killed
in his hometown
this week I'm sure everyone who
listens to this show is familiar with what happened
but we wanted to take a couple minutes
to talk about that right up at the top of the show
go ahead Tyler I mean
I don't know where to start
other than saying, you know, it's disappointing.
It's tragic and it's something that if you're a rap fan, you feel way too often.
You know what I mean?
If you're a fan of rap, this is somewhat of a common occurrence, and that's the most
tragic part.
And I'm not here to do any finger wagging at rap culture or anything like that.
I'm just saying that.
Dolf was a solid dude, man.
Like, you know, if you were a Dolf fan, you are not just a fan of the music.
You were a fan of Dolf as a person, right?
because he, he has, his personality just shown, just shine through so much in his music.
You know what I mean? And you could tell he was a solid dude. You know, he was someone who,
you know, took care of, you know, his, his neighborhood back in Memphis, someone who, who did,
you know, turkey drives. You know, that's what he was back home for, you know, when he got
killed tragically, he was organizing a turkey drive that day. You know, he's someone who just,
who never forgot where he come from, like, you know, there was a post from his, his principal
talking about how he always kept in contact with his high school principal and how he would show up to his high school and help them out and help out with whatever, you know, they need it.
And it's just, I don't know, man, it just leaves you feeling empty.
And like I said, it's a feeling that's far too common if you're a rap fan, you know.
It's crazy that you can make it to this point in your life and still have to worry about that shit in that space.
You know what I mean?
Like, you can make it out and you still haven't made it out.
you still can, you know, die due to the same shit that you were trying to get away from.
You know what I'm saying?
It's just like, I don't know in any other industry where that is the case.
You know what I'm saying?
I just, I don't get it.
But like, like you said, Dolf was a solid dude.
You know, his, his personality's shined through.
Like, if Dolf is a type of rapper, if you said Dauph was your favorite rapper,
I knew I would fuck with you because of that.
You know what I mean?
Like, you know, I mean, I, to be, keep with a stack, I straight up fell in love
with somebody while they were rapping Dolf lyrics, passenger side in my car. You know what I mean?
Like foot on a dash. I got real life memories to his music. You know what I remember? I remember
playing 100 shots. You know what I'm saying? While Atlanta, like reading about the CIA incident
where he got shot at 100 times and still fucking performed. You know what I'm saying?
That got shot at 100 times on the way to a performance at CIA in North Carolina and still
perform. And I remember thinking like, damn, like this is that nigga. I remember we got shot
in Hollywood and thinking like, why don't they let that man live? And they just refurb. And they just
refuse to let them live.
You know, they finally killed them after years.
You know what I'm saying?
It's just some evil shit.
You know what I mean?
But I just, I just, it's, I mean, going to get cookies, you had to worry about
dudes running up on you.
You know what I'm saying?
But like, thinking of, like, when you, as we see these stories come out about how he used to
bought, he bought his kids, you know, every year he bought his kids foreclosures.
You know what I mean?
Oh, I think it was over 100 properties he owned in Memphis.
You know, like you said, the city with, with his principal, always was there to
hold his principal down, hold his school down.
You know what I mean? He set his people up.
His wife put out a half a million dollar reward
to bring the people that murdered him to justice.
You know what I'm saying?
Like he set his family up well.
You know, and I'm praying for them.
It doesn't make up for the fact that they lost him.
But it speaks to the type of dude he was.
You know what I'm saying?
And regardless of how all that not snitching shit,
$500K, hey, it's going to roll, baby.
And you know what I'm saying?
And I remember one thing I remember from the Bible back in the day
when I was reading it like that
was there ain't no loyalty amongst the wicket.
You know what I'm saying?
I hope they get to snitching on each other
just like they will.
You feel what I'm saying?
But it's just sad and unfortunate
and it's like you said as a rap fan.
This is, like, we almost are like, who's next?
You know what I'm saying?
And it's like when you read,
and it just, it's sad that, you know,
there was a song I was listening to
where he was talking about how he listens,
he does drugs.
Just, I think it's dumb and dumb.
I think it's the first dumb and dumb.
dumb her album. But you know what I'm saying? He does drugs, you know, just to deal with all the
pain he's dealing with. Things about his grandmother and starts crying, bro. You know what I'm saying?
Like, you know, this is like, I mean, like you said, he put himself into his music. We talked about
this in a group chat. His last tweets about him having anxiety and not even realizing that was
abnormal to live that way. He was it was abnormal to live so anxious. You know what I'm saying?
And stressed out. That's how you, that's how you exist. You know, that's what he came from.
You know, he talked about being born with cracking his veins, you know, and made it out of that.
You know, I'm saying.
Made something myself, you know what I'm saying?
It became the man that he, that he was.
You know what I'm saying?
The example that he was is people just hated that.
And it's just so sick, man, it's so evil to me.
And I just whenever understand it, I'll never get used to it.
And actually it gets harder as to get older.
You know, especially seeing the videos of his kids, man.
And that's why I'll stop talking.
He was a very much a devoted family, man.
you know, there's clips circulating of him, you know, playing with his kids.
There's a clip circulating of him saying he doesn't fuck with deadbeat dads.
You know what I'm saying?
Like he was someone who took, you know, being a family man very serious.
And that's the biggest tragedy of this all here.
Like, of course, you know, as rap fans, we lost a great artist.
But, you know, those kids lost their dad, bro.
You know what I mean?
And that's the most tragic part of this.
Dolf, the unique thing about Dolf is when Dolf kind of,
The first, my introduction to Dauph, and I think a lot of people's introductions to Dolf
was preached back in like 2013, 2014.
That's what she was rapping passenger side.
That's why.
And I didn't heard the song yet.
And I was like, yeah.
Yeah.
And you know what I mean?
Knew every word.
Right.
And I remember hearing that and thinking, this dude, this is my first time hearing
this dude and he sounds like a seasoned rap bet, right?
Like, like that wasn't at all his first time rapping.
He had a couple of mixtapes before that.
But he stepped into that spotlight, fully.
prepared for it, it felt like, right?
Like, like, you know, just the way that he was, he was on that Zathoven beat, which is one of
Zatovans best fucking beats.
It was, it's a beat that would have overpowered a lesser rapper and he just floated all
over that motherfucker.
Man, just floated over.
And I remember thinking, this dude belongs in this rap shit first time hearing it.
I was like, this dude is doing what he's put here to do.
Like, that's, that, that's my, that was my intro to Dolf.
And that was kind of just how, you know, I felt through it with, with him throughout his
career, you know, always followed his music. And like I said, he just felt like being a rapper was
just something that he was supposed to do. He felt so natural to him. He had a great rap voice.
You know, he, like I said, he, he fucking, you know, through his humor, his personality in his
music, you know, you knew who Dolf was when you listen to Dolf. Dau was very, you know,
open and vulnerable and, and, you know, he let us in into his personality. And he was a funny
motherfucker too on top of all of that. But it's like I said, man, it's just, it's tragic that we
lost a great artist, but the biggest tragedy is that those kids lost their dad.
Just taking people out of the world over what?
Right.
You know what I mean?
Like taking people off the planet for what?
That's exactly what I was going to say, John, is, I think in America, there are still traps that were designed and built that we have not figured out how to unlock with great music.
with great photography, with great paintings, or poetry or whatever.
People have described it incredibly.
Like when I, you guys sent me the news story,
I just walked around, listened to dying of thirst and crying just on a walk around my neighborhood for like 10 minutes,
because I think that's the song to me that describes the world that, you know,
a lot of the kids that I'm close with in Long Beach grew up in.
and
is what you said
is one thing
you have a rap beef
with someone
you want to kill
the guy or whatever
you want to kill
you want to kill
young Dolf the rapper
you don't want to kill
Adolf Thornton
you feel me
whose kids
lost their dad
the week before Thanksgiving
right
like that's the
that's the impossible
part of it
and I don't know
the trap
still exists
right
and it's almost like
it feels
like there was an interview with a woman who lives in Memphis and I sympathize with her enormously
because she said this is the start of the horror, not the end of it. Right. And that's what we
that's what I deal with in Long Beach. That's what we deal with in Long Beach. You know, and I told
you guys this over the summer, a corn man got beat up and robbed by a couple of gang members.
And I knew fuck. Like, it's going to be going back and forth between a couple different gangs out here.
and we had to write obituaries over it.
We had to go to funerals over it.
And the mom of one of the teenage kids
who ended up being killed in Compton,
you know, this was a fully...
I'm trying to think I had to say this publicly.
This was an official organization funeral
with colors and everything, okay?
For sure.
The mom stood up there
and said in the eulogy for her son,
who was 16,
I know the cops are working on this,
but I don't want the cops to work on it.
You go handle it.
And how do you feel about that?
And if that was my kid,
understand completely.
Understand completely.
Absolutely.
But the problem is,
it's the same thing.
You want to kill the movie character
that killed your child.
You want to kill the idea of that person,
the public part of that person
who's playing in this world
you don't want to kill someone else's teenage son
right you don't want to kill someone else's dad
and that's the problem is there's this line
between the internal
love life of complicated
people right
and then there's this fucking world that
is being played in that
you can't you don't only go out of one of the worlds
you know what I mean and that's the fucking
that's the part that turns my heart
stomach, bro. And Tyler said it best when he said it's just, it's an empty feeling. And it's
unfortunately something that if you're close to any inner city community, if you come from
there or you have friends there, you work there, whatever, like, it's just, it feels like it feels
like a trap. I mean, it just feels like a movie that's like it has a beginning, a middle,
and end. And all you can do is sit there and fucking watch it. And you can't convince anyone
to do anything different and whatever else. And all I know is when I have that empty and hopeless
feeling. I try and do what I can in my community to make things better for the people here
because that's all we can do. And I will say I will do a little bit of finger wagging. It was just
a couple weeks ago. I don't even remember what it was if it was the Kanye Drake shit, but,
you know, it was like a common running joke on the timeline that was like rat beef is so boring
now. No one even got killed over this. Like, you know, it's shit funny about that.
I'm not like I make lots of fucked up jokes and I'm sure aren't funny to other people,
but there's not shit funny to me about that because that's something that, you know,
we have to look in the face, right?
So I do think I'm not a religious dude.
I'm not saying that's the solution,
but there does need to be some sort of a change in the way all of us view human life
and the value of being here every day, you know,
the value of being here for your kids or for your wife or for your parents or whatever.
and I don't, the reason it feels empty and hopeless is because I don't know how we affect that change.
And in fact, in this country, it feels like we have less value of that, you know, with each passing year.
So I don't know, but that's just my takeaway of it is.
And as horrible as it is that we lost this artist, as Tyler said, you know, it's teenagers fucking three miles from where I am right now that are worried about leaving their house.
you know i mean that there's it's a
it's a kid at the school my wife works at right
that they're worried about getting protective custody for him to walk to school
and that's that's the world that we built
like none of us did it but it's the world that we're in
and until we figure a way out of that
this is just the shit that's above the surface that we could see
but the iceberg underneath the surface is worse
that you know and it's more people under there
So I don't know.
That's all I got to say.
I mean, like you said, they tried to kill Dolf, but they can't, I mean, you can't
kill Dolf the rapper.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, they took his life, but, you know, what he's done and who he is still lives on.
You know what I'm saying?
So it's just, it's petty, it's pointless, and it's so tragic, you know what I mean?

I don't care which I'm saying.
Yep, that's me, Cliver Taylor the 4th.
You might have seen the skits, the reactions,
my journey from basketball to college football,
or my career in sports media.
Well, somewhere along the way, this platform became bigger
than I ever imagined.
And now I'm bringing all of that excitement
to my brand new podcast, The Clifford Show.
This is a place for raw,
unfiltered conversations

creators, and voices that not only deserve

And the next, we'll talk about life,

on TikTok. Do you remember when Diana Ross double-tap Little Kim's boobs at the VMAs?
Or when Kanye said that George Bush didn't like black people. I know what you're thinking.
What the hell does George Bush got to do with Little Kim? Well, you can find out on the look back at it
podcast. I'm Sam J. And I'm Alex English. Each episode, we pick it here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we survived it, including a recent episode with Mark Lamont Hill,
waxing all about crack in the 80s. To be clear, 84's big to me, not just because of crack.
I'm down to talk about crack on day, but just so y'all know. I mean, at this point,
this is the second episode where we've discussed crack. So I'm starting to see that there's a
through line. We also have AIDS on the table right now. So.
Thank you for finishing that sentence.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Really?
Yeah.
For me, it's one of the most important years for black people in American history.

Let's do a sports podcast.
John, I know you want to talk about the Bud Sean Porter Fight from last night.
that I did not watch
and that I believe Tyler saw the highlights up.
What's what's what's what's going on man?
What's going on, man?
Why are we not watching Bud versus Porter?
Why we ain't watching Bud?
I mean, that's supposed to be the fight of the year.
What's happening, guys?
Do we have a, you know what I'm saying?
A one-on-one or two-on-one, whatever.
Do we need to talk?
How are y'all missing this type of fight, man?
I don't know, bro.
I mean, I'm the most casual fucking base.
This is for.
Casual fighters, ain't it?
I don't know if Bud's really crossed into casual fighter fandom territory.
Did you see non-fight fans talking about this shit this week, John?
I don't feel like I did.
It's kind of wild because Bud is one of the, like, if fight fans knew about Bud,
like not what non-fight fans knew about Bud, like y'all would love Bud.
He is an animal.
Like he gets punched and he becomes meaner.
Like he starts off boxing.
He gets hit and then he starts brawling.
You know what I mean?
Like I don't think there's a fighter.
And he's knocked out nine.
consecutive people. He was the first person to knock out Sean Porter ever.
Sean Porter is a football player to just happen to play, to happen to box. He's a,
he's built like a tank. You know what I'm saying? He's eating, you know, the biggest
punches from the biggest punches in his weight class. You know what I'm saying? Like,
and he, I mean, I think y'all would love, but he's from Nebraska, still live in Nebraska,
you know what I mean, and got boxer money, you know what I'm saying? Started up a boxing academy
in Nebraska. You know, I think, I think, I think,
think if you have good grades, you get the box for free.
You don't have to even pay.
You know what I'm saying?
You get a train for free with Bud Crawford.
Really close to Sean.
I mean, what's your boy name?
Dude from New Jersey.
Olympian.
Shakur, Shakur Stevenson.
Really close Shakor Stevenson.
They do work together.
I don't know.
I don't know why people don't mess with Bud like that.
But Bud is, to me, pound for pound, baby.
As far as skills, what he can do in the ring?
You know what I'm saying?
He's a right-handed who switches up
goes lefty constantly who's actually not I think the last nine people out left you feel what I'm saying
I think the shitty thing for you is a boxing fan bro I think this next decade is going to really
hurt because it feels like we're moving to a place where I've seen way more people talking about
UFC no who is it Frank Gore and and and Darren Williams yeah okay I see way more people and I just
think we're moving to a place type of stuff I think that's where we're moving to and I think that
what's going to happen is younger people are going to realize if they haven't already,
I better get famous first.
Right?
You know what I mean?
It's like, let me make myself into a name that people want to see this person in a fight.
And it feels like once that kind of happens, you know, I don't know what happens to the
sport, to the actual technique and training and the art of the actual sport.
If it gets to like, oh, I need to do some stupid shit to go viral so people will pay money
to see if I get beaten up or not versus, like you said, like this dude, you know, this
dude deserves to have his fight be a big deal, but I just, I mean, I just didn't really see
that many people talking about it. You know what I mean? I see more people talk about NFL versus
NBA. Like, let's get a couple of quote unquote regular dudes to get in the ring and fight.
Who are fighters to show you, if y'all, if they're fighting, you're going to turn it on.
Javante is one of them, right? Yeah. I say, you know, Jervantes. Is Ero Spence one of them?
Wow.
Javante Canelo, you know, I think all casual boxing fans were locked in for the Fury Wilder series.
And that shit was boo-boo.
Fury is such a better boxer than Wilder.
Wilder literally cocks his hand in the ring.
You'll see him grab his wrist and cock his right hand.
That's all he has, bro.
It's wild to see, dog.
Yeah, but that's not it.
It's a small circle, I think, for boxes that casual fans to it.
But I think that's, but I think what you just said is the thing, like, like people were tapped in for that series because the storylines were bigger than the sport, right?
It's heavyweight, but heavyweight's little.
I know, but then the fights didn't really live up to it.
Well, that's the same thing as the TikTok fights and shit, right?
It's like, oh, the storyline's interesting, but the fight's not really that great of a fight.
But that describes a lot of a lot of the big fights, you know, like.
Dude, Sean Porter is trained by his dad.
You know what I mean?
Like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like, like,
shot in the head and drove himself to the hospital afterwards.
Like, there's storylines here.
You feel me?
His dad is, no, we need TikTok.
King, bro.
I mean, I'm serious.
Like, you need people to break those stories through to the general public because I just
don't feel like it's happening.
I don't know.
Sean Porter's dad was trying to find his mom at four years old.
They got to the house where it was a gambling house where they found her.
And as they were crossing the street, his younger brother who was three was hit by a car.
And he tries to control everything, including training his son in the ring now.
Because he couldn't control that moment.
I mean, I mean, these are the tragic stories that unfortunately people really, you know, tap into.
But for whatever reason, people aren't known about that.
And Sean Porter has been fighting, like, I mean, since I've been a boxing fan, you know, around that time, you know what I mean?
Like, probably like, I don't know.
It's been a minute.
He just retired.
But, dog, I mean, anyway, it was a great fight.
Sean Porter's a bull
and he really pressed
Bud and then
Bud calculated him
I figured him out
and in the 10th round just bink be a bank
bang bang pink big bang
where the dad was like
yo I can't watch my son
and get beat up like this
you know what I'm saying
and he did the right thing
I think he was still able to fight
you know what I'm saying
but like you know
Andre Ward said the best
he knew what was coming
this is the best
finisher in boxing
like Canello's a great finisher
right
seeing Bud
like no matter how much
pressure was but was just calm the whole time.
He gets hit. He gets a little
like, I want to knock this motherfucker out
and then he'll relax. But he just loves to fight.
This dude gets punched and he sticks his tongue out and smiles.
He loves to fight, bro.
And it's just wild that people don't know about him.
But, um, I mean,
do they talk about, you know, these guys
you probably don't know. You haven't heard of Keith Thurman.
The lights can't do with the braids. It's not everybody out.
You heard of Thurman? You've heard of Thurman. Damn.
So all you know, so Ugas, Erospens,
Thurman, you've only heard of Spence.
God damn
Casual ain't the word
Next segment
I am not locked in the boxing at all
I ain't gonna lie to you
Damn
Oogis I mean
He just beat Pachial
Pachial still fighting
Pachial just retired this year
I just ran with Pachial
interviewed him like a year and a half ago
Bro that was more than a year a half ago
When he beat Thurman
That might have been through me
I was like 2018 or some shit bro
Yeah yeah I guess
Yeah, yeah.
In 2019.
But yeah, like, yeah, when he beat Thurman, he beat Thurman.
He fought Thurman and beat Thurman.
I didn't.
Anyway, this is a heartbreaking for John.
Y'all got me feeling.
Boxing is a little bit, it feels a little bit like baseball, doesn't it?
Like, I guess, I guess.
It's like, it's like you run into a 50-year-old dude who will really talk to you and make you feel like.
I mean, what's crazy?
My young, homie, he about 29.
You know what I mean, relatively young, depending on how young you are.
You know what I'm saying?
Young to me.
You know what I'm saying?
My young.
nigga, you know what I see, like my little bro.
I hit him up. He got like
10, 12 people at the crib watching the fight.
He called me up on face. I had the baby in the hand.
I had to give up the baby to rather because we was celebrating
because we think bud is the one.
You know what I'm saying? Like, so I mean, there's some
people in it, but it's just like those
certain dudes, you know what I mean,
that are into it are really into it.
You know what I'm saying? And everybody else, they just
happen to see big dudes punch each other ugly.
Ugly, ugly, you know,
like ugly fights that aren't even really
fun, you know what I'm saying?
People said Mayweather fights are born.
I watch Mayweather
like, and do, and I'm like,
I'm taking notes. Like, I love the defense
because I know being that I've spar,
I know how hard it is not to get
hit that motherfucker. I'll be getting hit.
I know.
I said some people now, I've never been set now, but I be getting
I'm, you know, I came out with bloody nose, you know,
it's all of that. You feel me? I got my ass
whooped in that ring a lot. You know what I'm saying?
So I know how hard it is to do what he's doing.
So that's how you know what I'm saying.
Or him and Shakur.
All right.
Speaking of doing what you do.
He's doing fuck boxing.
Paul Pierce, the truth.
Do-do time is now known.
He's not all boxing to talk about do-do.
The truth will forever be known as the lie.
And we need to discuss this.
Paul Pierce went on Michelle Beals show for the athletic.
smoking hookah and lying his ass off.
I think a lying goes on while smoking hookah, though.
Smoking hookah and lying probably go together.
You can't tell the number.
Like way number one, you know he's lying as he's smoking hookah.
No way, you've never been in a hookah spot and someone told you a single thing that was true.
He would have threw up if he told the truth of smoking hookah.
Would have coughed the lung out.
Yeah.
You 45 years old smoking hookah?
Come on, bro.
With a home hookah set up?
You are a very untrustworthy individual.
You know.
Liar.
That's.
Well, there's no truth going on in that.
Lying.
All right.
So most of you know, 2008 finals, Celtics Lakers, Paul Pierce, and he's admitted to this,
pooped his pants.
He admitted it.
He had to go out of the game on a wheelchair, a triumphantly.
came back from a non-injury and played decent and the Celtics won the game.
As a Lakers fan, this was not my favorite sports memory.
So it did become a much more positive memory for me after finding out that he'd pooped his pants.
Paul Pierce goes on Michelle Beatle's show.
And I want you to try and imagine how badly you have to be lying to attempt to be smug while saying the following sentences.
If you poop your pants, does it make sense to sit down and mush it in a wheelchair?
I would walk back there and go straight to the bathroom.
Why would I need a wheelchair if I poop my pants?
You don't sit down on your poop, right?
It doesn't make sense.
You are hiding the poop.
You're wearing white shorts, Paul.
You were hiding the poop.
Mr. Pierce?
Mr. Pierce.
These poop allegations, Mr. Pierce must be addressed.
But you know what?
You are hiding a doo-do.
Go ahead.
I don't think Pierce ever admitted to pooping himself.
He admitted he had to poop.
And I think that's an important distinction.
And I think we might have to hear him out on this one.
No.
No, no.
No, we don't.
Go ahead.
If you had to poop.
I'm ready.
Go ahead, Tyler.
If you had to poop, you poop, bro.
Look, I know what I know what I'm saying?
I know we don't fuck with Pierce, but pooping allegations are a very serious.
We can throw that around.
Yeah, we just get not going to go around.
around all willy-nilly, right?
If you have been accused of pooping yourself,
you have every right to have the podium and defend yourself,
regardless of who you are.
He accused himself.
He accused himself of pooping his fans.
But yeah, but like I said, he always said he had to poop.
And he, I don't think he ever said, yeah, I did poop himself.
He said the word accident, bro.
So here's my whole thing.
Like, what, this would be one of my questions if I were cross-examining him
in the court of poop law is what?
degree of pooping yourself are we
talking about here? Are we talking about
the whole log coming out or just the turtle
head poking out? Is it two degree
or fourth degree? Right.
Is it a first degree pooping on yourself
second degree?
Or is it poop slaughter?
A little turtah
poked out and then went back there. No.
This is felony class
pooping your pants. I don't think it's
felony. No, because that's
why he needed the wheelchair.
He's wearing white shorts. He said,
I would have stood up and just walked to the bathroom.
Paul Pierce, are you attempting to convince us you've never heard of diarrhea, bro?
Bro, bro.
Where you were playing and you shouldn't have been playing.
Some stuff came out.
You're wearing white shorts.
You don't know if it's coming down your leg.
A situation where you accidentally poop yourself, that was not a log, Tyler.
That was Splash Mountain, bro.
I've had a first-degree poop before.
And, bro, I would get a wheelchair.
I would get a wheelchair.
I remember I was hoop and tried to stay outside
longer than I should have.
And I was like, oh, what?
You know what I'm saying?
I remember where I was at, 9506,
right from one circle, bro.
The DNA is still on the ground.
You feel me?
You feel me?
I can point out the situation where exactly where I was at.
Bro, and so like even one degree.
So we can't guess the degree,
but we can guess if there's poop.
You're getting on a wheelchair
because it more than peaked.
It didn't just show its face and go back in.
You know what I'm saying?
wheelchair is proved to me that he was hiding something.
I agree with you.
And it's a great misdirection to be like, well, why would I sit on a wheelchair?
Because someone popped a brown water balloon and your fucking sliders, bro.
You don't want the national television to see.
And he's an old nigger, so he probably had on boxes instead of boxer briefs.
And that is a problem.
Yeah.
Do you know what I'm saying?
So, dog.
Yes.
But here's how you know this man is lying.
He said in the interview, Michelle Beatle tried.
to let him off the hood. She's like, it's just like a fun story and like everyone's pooped their
pants. And he said no. He said, I haven't pooped myself since I was three years old. Now that is a
damn lie. That is a lie. We have all had so a tragic poop incident well beyond our childhood. All of us
have had at least one. So that's a fucking lie. I'm going to tell you about another.
Fourth grade, I was on the bus and a little
a bit, e-k, came out, and I thought shit was sweet. Went to the bathroom. When I got to
the school, looked at my shit, wasn't as sweet as I thought it was. Thought I cleaned it up and
was Gucci, right? I couldn't really throw no water on it, but you know, bink-bing. So we're
playing around the world in math, and I was a motherfucking dog at that shit, right? I happened to go
around all the way the first time, right, and one that motherfucker, but hold up. So I remember
Mary Michaels, Mary Michaels, the home, that she was the homie. That was a homie. That was a
to homie, Mary Michaels.
I passed her up, and luckily it was behind me.
It was like, beside me, she didn't smoke me,
but like three, three desks pass.
She smelled it, you know what I'm saying?
And I remember her looking like,
I smell a little bit of doo-doo.
And I was like, whoops, could that be?
Oops.
Finished it up, set my ass down,
and was like, that was a close one, Bubba.
I remember every time I've done it.
Oh, bro, fourth grade.
When I did it, I think it was in seventh grade.
And I think there was another one after,
but I think that the younger ones,
I don't have to do it in high school,
nothing like that.
I think when I got older and I think I did it,
it wasn't as big of a deal because I'm old.
I don't give a fuck about what nobody thinks,
you know what I'm saying?
But when I cared in fourth and seventh grade,
that shit was a big deal.
It could have ruined your life.
It could have ruined you.
You would have been poop boy forever, bro,
if they knew.
Fourth grade, I'd have been poop boy.
You know what I'm saying?
Middle school, the holes would not have fucked with me no more.
You know what I mean?
And it only, that would have followed you,
York, that would have followed you to 12th grade, bro.
Like, like all jokes aside.
I would have had to go to college.
I would have had to go to college.
No, that's serious.
Or I had to move.
For sure.
Oh, for sure.
Remember that time you pooped in your pants and seventh grade, nigga?
While hooping?
Why didn't you bring your ass back inside and shit?
Weirdo?
Hooping with doo-doo in you.
All right, Paul Pierce.
Get the fuck I call you Paul Pierce.
Let me call me Mr. Pierce.
All right, Mr. Pierce.
hit a bucket, hit a shot
Mr. Pierce for two.
They got that. They've been on my head. Fuck that shit, dog.
My belief is
the witness has destroyed his own credibility
by claiming that he's never pooped his pants.
That for sure hurts this case.
And smoking hookah. And he's smoking hookah
while telling the story. And I would just say again,
sometimes you're in a situation, as John has described,
we've all gone for a run that we got a little further away
from the house than we should have when we had eaten
you know too much garlic the night before, whatever it is.
Garlic does that to you?
I have a variety of
stomach
No, it's not really garlic
But I have a variety of like stomach problems
That were not diagnosed
Until I was in my 20s
So I thought you know
Really having to shit all of a sudden
Was like a regular part of life
You know what I mean?
I'm not sure
I'll never forget you walking out
Walking out the podcast like Bob Burger
I'd never forget you
Floating out the middle of a podcast
Like I will see y'all see
That was food poisoning
That was food poisoning
Oh, it was. It was. Remember, that was a fucking enchilada of doom.
I just remember to walk. I just remember to walk. I can see it right now, right at that door right behind you.
But Paul Pierce, everyone's been in this situation where being on a wheelchair so no one knew what happened and going straight to the shower was the best possible thing that could have happened.
And if you look at the timeline of what happened, I really believe that's exactly what happened. He said, get me a fucking, get me out of here.
Hey, get me the fuck up out of here right now.
He took care of everything, and he was back on the court playing as though he wasn't hurt, which is exactly what happened.
Boom.
You pooped your pants.
Okay.
Just stop talking about it.
If I'm you, I'm talking about him.
Dude, can you imagine being 50?
Like, you know, is he married?
I don't know.
Like, he doesn't come across at somebody that's married.
But I don't know.
But, yeah, but I mean, he's, he's at the lounge.
He's at the truth smoking hookah.
You know what I'm saying?
Talking to somebody like, ain't you the man that pooped on yourself in the middle of the game?
He said.
He said he hears about it every day.
He said he hears about every day.
So that's why, and he hearing that from, you know what I'm saying?
From the, you know what I'm saying?
From his lady friends probably too.
You know, they might not remember his stats.
They don't know he was a Hall of Famer.
You know what I mean?
But they probably like.
Statistic.
Right, bro.
He is two to one.
The one statistic that's enough to two.
You look familiar.
And he like, oh, shit.
Literally.
Oh, shit.
Oh, shit.
See.
All right.
The easiest transition in Jenkins and Jones history.
Let's talk about Peepee.
We discussed last week the situation where a man went to a concert prepared to be peed on by the lead singer of the band.
And we discussed this incident without a crucial piece of information, which is number one, pardon the pun, that the singer's name is Eurista.
very close to your ether there
like very close to urine
and she's very attractive
which is the other piece of information
I don't think we had at the time
I have a written apology
I have a written apology
I have a written apology
I want to formally apologize
for talking down a homie who got peed on
you know after further research
and a few IG pictures floating through our group chat
I'll admit I misjudge the situation
we all talked it over
points were made
so I like to say completely,
I completely understand why someone would glue a fucking can to their head
and volunteer as tribute to be peed on.
I do have one get out of jail free card,
which I will never use, all right.
But if I did,
I'm saving it for a real filthy, nasty freak
like the one we saw.
My bad, G.
I understand.
I understand, though.
When you dropped that photo, I'm like,
when you dropped the photo,
Eresta.
Erestra.
Bro.
Euretha.
Bro.
Yes.
Yes.
I'm not mad at it.
And we talked about this too.
You know, we some old niggas talking about some wild shit.
But if you have dealt with somebody who is a, you know,
squirrel.
Have you quote squirter.
Squirrel.
Okay.
Let me talk about this.
A scientific term.
I was talking about in a podcast how pee and squirt juice is very similar.
Right?
It's not very similar.
It's the exact same thing.
Yeah, you feel me?
Like, at least they're cousins.
You feel me?
But Siri hated on me.
Real cousins.
Blood cousins.
Blood cousins.
Blood cousins.
Not Philly ancient cousins.
You feel me?
Right.
Not cause.
Cousin.
Okay.
And Siri hated on me instead of saying squirder, it said squirrel.
So I looked like I was having squirrels ride my face.
But anyway.
wait if you've been in that situation with a squirt hurt you know what I mean it's very similar to
his situation so hey I ain't mad at the man you know what I mean he did this he did his research
we did it so hey I get it yeah you know two consenting adults doing sending adult stuff
that was still some wild shit though I mean I mean privately do it privately do it privately
that's the one thing I think you should I that makes more sense to me on stage
Yeah, you got to be Rihanna.
You know what I mean?
Other than that,
you're the niggas got peeed on by Rihanna.
God damn right.
I look a motherfucker dead in their eyes.
Of course I got peed on by Rihanna.
The fuck you be.
Shit.
Nigger?
You ain't got pied on by Rihanna.
I know how her neck smell,
nigga, what you mean?
What you mean, digger?
That's serious.
I don't know why y'all laugh and shit.
Shit.
on stage, you feel me.
But yeah, I would have, for her, you know, private.
But I get it, though.
I get it.
Kudos to that man and salute to him, a real one.
I like that this, we got this.
This is my theory.
She apologized for this, first of all.
She said, look, it's about the music first.
No, it's not.
We don't know.
We don't know the music.
We know the P.
I don't want to be like a shock jock, you know, artist or whatever.
But I truly believe that she issued the apology just so
that the apology screenshot could go out
with the picture of her.
As the full explanation.
And everybody was like,
Oh.
The record scratches.
Rorista.
Rorista.
Right.
Sorry, my brother.
Come on now.
All right.
Let's, okay, so I don't know that we need to fully open this bag back up, but John wants me to read.
We got an email from Daniel T.
Daniel, thank you for emailing.
I want you to read for you.
And so we get it, we get it.
Tyler read it too he thought it would be nice to read it on the pod as well.
Okay, all right, for sure.
We were talking about Staples Center and about the embarrassing capital.
The gun-hill paper for 299.
capitalistic notion of getting emotional attachment to the names of large office supply companies,
which I fully acknowledge is what I have as someone who grew up in Southern California in the 80s and 90s and 2000.
But Daniel T. says, y'all got to let Garty B be in his feelings about Staples Center changing the name.
I'm not a Lakers fan, but I grew up just outside L.A., and I get the attachment to this Staples Center.
Even I was kind of like, what the fuck. I get it. Teams venues want that paper.
I mean, we grew up seeing fighters with condom depot printed on their fucking shorts.
Everything Mike said about the Staples Center representing a new era for the team and all that is right on.
I'd also add that Staples Center also represented a revival for downtown L.A. altogether.
That was the centerpiece and then all the L.A. live shit came later.
The running joke for years was, don't get caught in downtown L.A. after dark.
The opening of Staples Center changed all that.
Personally, I do go to my local staple store because my...
cheap ass won't buy a printer, scan, or copier for the crib.
Once or twice a year, I print and scan some shit,
but also the term Staples Center is just part of the LA vocabulary.
I know Twitter was twittering over the name change in an OD way,
as big of a city as LA is and as many arenas venues there are.
Staples was still the one.
If they changed the name for Madison Square Garden to Bitcoin Fieldhouse,
Stephen A. his hairline would go back another inch.
99% of me understands.
Nothing matters anymore.
It's all about money and bullshit.
it. One percent of me that still has feelings definitely understands the sentimental attachment.
I actually think that perfectly describes my view of like everything in sports, by the way.
Do you know what's wild is while reading this I thought? Like all of our fans could be the
people that, I don't say, people that fuck with us could be the fourth person on the pot.
Like this is a point in one of us. You know what I mean? This is this. Anyway, I love that. I love that
when reading our emails. Go ahead. He finishes the email and then we have some breaking news.
He says, when LeBron starts doing crypto commercials
with some Adele playing in the background
telling us to buy clutch coin,
I'll know the world is ending,
Earth had a good run.
We're going outside as fuck.
Thanks, Daniel.
Yeah, that's basically it.
I mean, I don't know.
I appreciate him putting that into words.
It's just, it's one of those things that kind of like in and out.
It's like, I'm not trying to convince anyone from fucking Richmond
or St. Louis had to feel about my favorite burger place in Southern California.
And y'all aren't trying to convince me to feel differently about my own life and memories.
I don't expect you to enjoy emo as much as I do.
You don't have the same memories.
You know what I mean?
Exactly.
Didn't crush pizza doesn't mean that much of you and it shouldn't.
All right.
D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D.
Breaking news from Biko.
I love that.
In the Jackson and Jones group chat.
Real live news, man.
Jackson and Jones.
Did I just say Jackson and Jones?
I love it, though.
That's the name of the group chat.
If you have another kid and you take a couple weeks off, Jackson's sliding right in.
Right.
Right.
My bad,
my bad Jonathan.
No.
Breaking news.
It's okay, Mikael.
Nico just texted us that the Kings just fired Luke Walton.
We don't care about that.
They've lost seven of eight games and dropped to six to love on the season.
So bye to Luke Walton.
It's funny.
Hold on.
It's funny as hell how that man got fired the night that someone puked on their fucking court.
Like this is the most Kings 24 hours ever.
You know what I mean?
Like, that is fucking hilarious.
They mop that puke out and then they took out the trash.
There was some home cleaning at what the sleep king mattress pavilion, whatever the fuck it is now?
What's the name?
Whatever the fuck.
But yeah.
The bigger news, after a strong week of scrimmages, Clay Thompson has been cleared to be a full
participant in all warriors
practices trending towards
return within a week of
Christmas, according to
sham.
Oh my. The Warriors are playing Christmas, aren't they?
Yeah.
Oh, bro.
The best team in the league
got astronomically better,
exponentially better.
Hey, fuck it, man.
I'm here for it. I want to
see Clay.
Warriors and Sons play on Christmas, so.
Oh, that's good.
Because that's one and two, isn't it?
That's one and two in the West.
At the moment is one and two.
I do, Adam, our other producers, not on the show today,
so I will acknowledge,
let's say some nice things about the Wizards.
They're off to a nice start.
Yeah, yeah.
There it is.
We'll see how it ends.
We all know how it's going to end, but we'll see.
Going to end with someone barfing on the court.
Okay.
All right.
Colin Cowherd has made some great decisions over the course.
course of his professional career.
And we certainly believe that one of those decisions is signing the Jenkins and Jones
podcast to the Volume Sports Network.
So we really appreciate that.
But we appreciate your monthly.
We appreciate that monthly boost.
We appreciate it enormously.
That last Thursday of the month.
Yes, we absolutely.
Let's go.
Sure.
Some of us have appreciated you in advance already for the next three months over that.
But.
Mr. Garda, Buccio.
But we have to discuss because this is just random.
came across the timeline
and it's genuinely like the funniest
like I love the
old takes exposed like
freezing cold takes shit on Twitter. I
don't know why it just cracks me up
and it cracks me up because we're all wrong about
everything like all the time basically
it's opinion based. A lot of it's not facts
you know what I mean? Even on camera, you know what I'm saying?
But Colin Cowherd
when the calves were down
02 to the 73 and 9
warrior
What might be the wrongest take ever.
He's so funny.
He said, I think he said the following.
Like LeBron's, this is an older version.
He said what we said about LeBron last year.
He said this is an older version of LeBron.
He can't take a game completely over anymore.
But he specifically said he's not going to have.
40 points.
No more chase down blocks.
He said he can't chase you down and block you from behind.
And he said he can't have a big.
like statistical impact in every category.
He then proceeded to very famously chase someone down and block them from behind,
score 40 points maybe in every game after that, and lead the finals in literally every
statistical category.
That is some remarkable shit right there.
There's nothing wrong with being wrong.
You know what I mean?
Like I'm wrong about all types of fucking takes and shit.
But and even then, when the, when the cows were down 02, I was like, I don't think
Brown's ever getting another rank. This is Steph's
league right now, like back to 2016.
I don't think that that was a hot
take back then. That's how it felt. It felt like
like, bro, you know, Brian went to
Cleveland and then these, the fucking warriors
came out of nowhere and it's their league now.
Like, I think we all kind of thought that it was a wrap for
Brian at that moment. But for Colin to be
so specifically wrong.
Right? To be
no more 40-point games. Okay, 41
points back to back. Games for all five and six.
He can't chase you down anymore.
Okay, he fucking chased Iggy down.
for the greatest defensive play in NBA history
to help lock that ring up.
And then the end of though,
he's not going to dominate statistically.
He led everyone and everything.
That's scary.
Everything.
Right.
And another funny thing is,
you know,
sometimes we get proven wrong
over the course of a season.
Cowherd got proven wrong in like four days.
Being this specific about it.
It is just a,
it's phenomenal.
It's incredible on,
yeah,
it's really a phenomenal,
incredible wrong day.
Calhurt's been in the game like 30 years.
That's a long time.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, I mean, somewhere around 32, 30 years.
So you're going to be wrong a lot in 30 years.
I've just never heard someone so wrong that not just the words are wrong, but the syllables.
The spaces in between the words.
The colonie had on that day was wrong.
You know what I mean?
Like, I've never heard somebody that wrong that specifically.
You know what I'm saying?
But I also get it.
You know what I'm saying?
He should have been right.
you know what I mean I was what like his bronze like 13th or 14th year you know what I mean but
like he should have been right about the man but brine's not a man he's a brine and he's been
bronning ever since you know what I'm saying so I get where he was coming from I get why he
said that I also love how wrong he was that's my favorite moment in basketball history yes you know
I mean so it's just it's just I'm gonna be honest with you when it's just because someone
sent us the clip and I'm watching the clip and when he said he's not going to chase
you down from behind and block you anymore.
My first thought was,
this must be a, like, he must
have time traveling abilities and this was
an intentional troll. You know what I mean?
Because why would you specifically
bring that up?
It was so remarkable.
Maybe Bron did it
because he heard that. He did everything.
Bron wrote a list down and was like, check,
check, check. He didn't care about
step at all. Right, right, right. Or his
legacy. I want to prove.
this man wrong completely.
Thank you, Calhurt.
You are the reason for my favorite moment.
All right.
I want to talk about,
because I think this is truly incredible.
Did you see,
did I send you guys the clip
of the man who proposed at the Adele concert?
Yes, I saw it.
I didn't see it.
John,
this guy led his fiance out blindfolded
at a nationally televised live Adele concert,
let her out right in front of,
front of the stage, Adele had asked the crowd to be quiet, so she had no idea where she was.
She could have been, like, alone in a mansion for all she knew.
Takes the blindfold off.
She's like, oh, my God, what's going on?
Then he kneels down, proposes to her.
She's like, yeah, she was remarkably funny and did not swear at all, by the way, which I
thought was incredible, but she was very funny.
Then Adele comes walking out, like, from into the spotlight.
She starts losing her shit.
He then takes his new fiancé, sits down.
in the front row next to who they said they're sitting next to like harry styles or something
they're sitting next to someone famous and she then performs their song like live on national
television and i just want to say comparison is the thief of joy and just don't attempt to top
this man don't even try i'm emotional hearing that that made my eyes water hearing that that is
fucking beautiful bro when i when i saw this these
These were my first thoughts.
That is amazing.
What a proposal.
Good for them.
And then I thought, her friends' boyfriends hate this motherfucker.
Oh, for show.
Like, they do this downfall.
They talking dummy shit in the group chat.
They despise this dude right now because it was a lot of eye rolls and, you know, going around with her friends' boyfriends.
I'm sure of it.
Meanwhile, I'm with this bitch-ass, nigga, over here.
Right.
Bro.
My girlfriend before some of you, this.
before summer, you know, summer's my wife now for those who don't know who summer.
My girlfriend before summer, right?
I remember her best friend got proposed to on Christmas, like some extravagant, you know,
beautiful, you know, at like the fanciest, um, in the lobby of the fanciest hotel in Richmond.
And I was like, well, that's probably the end of us.
I knew right then and there.
I knew right then and there we were done and we did not make it through that year, bro.
That shit is real, dog.
Like, we broke up like June or so, you know, so we didn't even last a half a year after
that, bro.
And yeah, man, like that, like, I'm joking, but for real, shit like that does put pressure
on the boyfriends of the girl's friend.
I've seen it so many times.
I was a fucking victim of it myself.
So prayers up to those dudes, bro.
Have I told you all the story of how I proposed to Shar?
No, no, I think so.
It's a very embarrassing moment.
So I want to hear it.
talk about it to the people who listen to the podcast.
Okay, great.
I thought you're going to wait off.
No, no, you can't say this and not talk about it.
We were young.
My wife and I started dating the summer after we graduated high school,
which we went to high school together.
We were close friends for three years throughout high school.
Started dating right after we got out of high school.
We were like 21.
We were like three years into college.
We were like, all right, bro.
Like, you know, we knew we were going to get married and everything.
So, Sharr can read my mom.
my mind. That is something that has been true since before we were dating. And so she had known
the entire time that I was going to propose to her. She knew when I was going to get the ring
because I was like fucking nervous and giggly or whatever. Like she knew the whole shit, right?
So I took her up to the mountains. We got a nice hotel room and we're like, okay, this is cool.
We'll go for a walk by the lake. You know, the moon's out. It looks nice. I'll propose.
So she knew the whole fucking time obviously. She's like, because you know, that's not, that's
my real best friend since I was
fucking 16 years old, right? She's like,
maybe they don't have a lot of money spending a lot of money
all of a sudden. A million years. You're 21
years old, bro. Like, you just
ask your grandpa, you just ask your grandpa for
gas money to come to me in college.
You know what I mean?
Right. Right. Right.
Because the financial age shit ran out.
Like, I'm still living with my mom and she's living in
UCLA student apartment, right?
Right, right. And yeah, and you know, she knows
how I dress and I'm dressed up nice that night
and shit. You know what I mean?
Like,
You told on yourself.
You told us.
So we're going for a walk.
I'm nervous as fuck for absolutely no reason.
I'm nervous as fuck.
I'm checking the ring in my pocket every like 20 seconds, et cetera, et cetera.
So I wasn't like fully dialed in on like what was going on because I was so nervous.
So right when we got to like a really nice spot by the leg, I just cut a large part, bro, like a very long part.
I was like
I got super like
I got super like
flustered and like nervous
and Shar being Char
literally was like
you fart all the time
like what's the problem
like why are you embarrassed
like
she's like
she was funny as hell man
she was on that head
dog
she was swimming laps
so anyway like
five minutes later
I propose
it was a fucking you know
great night
etc
et cetera, et cetera. But yes, that's the, that's my, that's my Adele story.
It would have been funny if after the fart and you're all nervous and Shar's like, yes, I'll marry you.
The fuck.
You know what I mean?
I've heard all I need to hear.
Right.
You was, right.
That is hilarious, though.
John, you wanted to talk about a sci-fi.
hypothetical and I want to I want to I want to break this down so explain
this to me I can't really explain it you know like I think they have to hear it so I
guess you know Jackson and the edit could you play it but the guy talks about like
Jackson play the audio right here my most irrational fear is that there is a version of me in
the future that has access to a time machine and he decides to jump into my timeline
to try and take me out.
And of course, there'll be a fight for our lives.
And if he wins,
he replaces me.
And then he gets to blow your back out.
What's wild to me is, like,
the dude tells this story
about his greatest fear.
And his greatest fear is somebody coming from the future.
Him coming from the future.
Him coming from the future and replacing him
and blowing out the back of the woman.
he's trying to fuck on hinge.
The thing is, if I was, I would tell rather that story now.
You know what I mean?
That's my greatest fear.
I probably replaced the blowing out the back where, you know, dropping some dick off,
some heavy dick off.
You know what I'm saying?
Because that's my thing dropping dick off.
That's your voice there.
That's my voice.
You know what I'm saying?
I have to speak to my truth.
Say it in your own authentic voice, John.
You know what I'm saying?
But like, that's a great story, but that's a great story.
a year and a half into the relationship.
That's fun.
That's not fun to say prior to actually doing that.
You know what I mean?
Like, I thought it was like, this is fun.
It's just not fun over to hinge.
It's fun after you've already farted in front of her loudly like Mike did before he proposed.
I'm going to disagree because you can tell from that clip he's got, you know, a bit of a different sense of humor, a bit of an offbeat sense of humor.
Lay that shit out there on the table, you know, from the jump, I say.
You know?
You see it didn't work though.
Oh, no, no.
No, no.
For her.
For her.
She tweeted this is hell.
Yeah.
Keep the retweets.
There's so many women who are like, oh, he'd get a date out of me.
There's so many women who are.
And he's getting dates with the people he, like with the right people with that shit, too.
You know, put yourself out there authentically.
And then the people who are coming, you don't have to, you don't have to pretend that
you're not a dude who farts by the lake.
Right.
You know what I mean?
Because they know who you are, bro.
Bro.
And the first fucking 10 seconds of meeting my wife.
She told me her name was summer.
And I was like, is your birthday in the summer?
She's like, no, it's a, bro.
And I was like, why'd your parents do that?
You know what I'm saying?
You're going to blow her back out, though.
In the first 10 seconds.
He hasn't even met her yet.
I asked this girl who I know for 10 seconds,
what the fuck was wrong with her parents and we had a laugh about it
and here we are fucking married.
You know what I mean?
Be your authentic self from the gate.
That's what I say, bro.
Bro, you know I'm me at all times.
You know that, right?
You know what I mean?
But I think you have to, like, bro,
I'm just not, I'm not throwing that motherfucker out there.
Like the first time me and rather kissed, I picked her up out of excitement and
danced in the street and swung her around.
And she says, oh, you're crazy.
I love crazy.
You know what I'm saying?
And now we're married.
I'm always myself.
I'm not just, I'm not assuming.
I'm not saying I'm blowing a motherfucker back out before even meeting the person, though.
That is various.
But blow your back out was so crucial to that joke.
It's not the same if, and he gets to have sex with you.
It doesn't hit the same.
Blowing your back out is the bunch line there.
I get it, but you really, you, he's taking a big swing.
You're taking a big swing.
You're taking a big swing.
But when you're talking to summer and you're talking to Rodda, you're talking to one person.
When you're putting something up on social media or on a dating platform, you're talking
to like 10,000 people.
So just on batting odds, if that works with six people, but it's a right six people,
you know what I mean?
Like, I feel like that's the difference.
You wouldn't take a swing like that with one person, but you talk to the internet different
that you talk to one person too, right?
I guess the hinge is the internet, you know what I mean?
But like I just, I don't, bro, I ain't never been on no hand shit.
I tried it.
I tried it like for a little bit.
No.
What's the premise of Hinge?
Like, what's there?
I know Bumbles the girls reach out first.
Like, what makes Hinder different?
It's just, it's just like the same.
Hinge and Tinder, I think the same thing.
I think Hinge is more is considered better than Tinder now.
You know what I mean?
but like I know more people that use Hinge and Tend
I don't hear people talking about Tinder. I think Tinder is
Passae. It's like Facebook
of the dating internet world or whatever.
But I think it's all trash. I remember
like Bumble, like jumping on Bumble and like
you know, getting like Bumble is the thing
with Bumble is like women can decide
to reply to you say you like them and they, you know, they have
the power in that, you know what I mean? But like
getting some very aggressive
responses and you know
I'm aggressive. Were they treating
you like a piece of meat there, John?
No, there's one no. I mean one person
really hit me up on some, like, just wild all of a sudden, like, dummy sexual.
Like, you could tell you were going to get robbed.
Yeah, yeah, it wasn't, no, that was Instagram.
When I looked at the location was like, she was living in the 60s, I'm like, I'll send
an Uber to come get you.
I'm not pulling up in my whip to scoop you in the 60s at 11 p.m.
And it turned out to be cool, you know what I'm saying?
But, like, Bumble was like, you know, first of all, you know, Ben, I was doing it.
in my 30s. We, I'm dating people. I like
when my age, and you know,
they get older, get more confident.
Some was kind of aggressive.
Less time to waste. Yeah. They dated it.
Right, right. And I'm like,
you know what I mean? So, but yeah, it's
a scary place. Uh, Instagram has been much better to me.
All right.
That's where I found my wife. You feel? So fuck it.
Okay. So that's, that's about it
for the show. But, um, we are
talking about merch.
right now with the volume people.
So we've randomly, the last couple of weeks,
a ton of people have been hitting us up saying they want to
buy hoodies and various other things.
You're going to read our ideas out?
I'm not going to read the ideas out.
Squirrel's riding my face.
That's what it seems like he wants.
You filthy, nasty, freak you.
You've been paying attention to the show
and you know where squirrel came out of free card.
You or might get out of free card.
Garnibuccio.
Get out of Jules.
don't free hard.
You are that's you.
Nasty man.
You know where squirrels came up before.
You could do your own fucking mad legend on that shit.
Figure that out.
Yes.
I just want to say the reason,
one of the reasons that we've been slow getting the merch out
is that the volume,
our producers and the people at the volume
keep asking us for ideas and to be helpful.
And every time they do that,
we, it turns into the podcast
and we start saying really stupid jokes.
So we will actually give them some feedback and get the shit out there.
But I will say the hoodies are incredibly comfortable.
So you're right to want one.
And we are working on it.
So my apologies that we're too stupid to actually get business done in those conversations.
The people that sent us, the pictures of the hoodies, I'm like, oh, you'd be my friend.
Yeah, bro, you need my friend.
100%.
You know what I mean?
Smoking a J in the hood with the hoodie on.
Oh, yeah, you'd be my friend.
Like, this is funny to see.
All right.
I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving.
I'm thankful for you guys and all the listeners, you know.
Likewise.
Do you think likewise is better than me too?
I always felt likewise was more, I thought you'd think more before you say likewise to me.
Or is that too professional?
Like, is that too, that standoff?
It seems a little like a regards to me.
What do you think, Tyler?
I think, I think likewise feels a little more thoughtful than me to.
Me too, me too.
Me too.
You know, likewise means I have fully taking in what you said and I feel this.
Me too just seems like, you know, impulsive, I feel like.
You know what I mean?
Me too falls out of your mouth.
Likewise has been thought filtered and then it comes out.
You know what I mean?
Yeah.
Me too is a gut response to something.
That's how I feel.
People that listen to the podcast, let us know.
Is it me too or likewise?
We're going to put up a poll.
Me too versus likewise.
Me too are likewise.
We're still in.
All right, y'all, thank you for fucking with us.
We hope you have a good Thanksgiving.
And we'll see you next week.
Bye.
Bye.
Bye.
Bye.

Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy,
not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman
help make you funnier.
This week, my guest,
S&L's Mikey Day and headwriter, Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

From 1979, that was a big moment for me.
84 is big to me.
I'm Sam Jay.
And I'm Alex English.
Each episode, we pick you here, unpack what went down,
and try to make sense of how we.
We survived it with our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors.
Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s.
It was a wild year.
It was a wild year.
I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal, but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.
Within probably 10 days, I'd put on 10 pounds.
I was having trouble stopping the muscle growth.
