Legerethora Jenkins, aka John. Well, Zam, Bubba. Did you forget my name? Did you forget my name?
Starting point is 00:01:39 Did you forget I'm the John LaGythro Jenkins? Did you forget? Yeah. The Jethro Jenkins Nichols. I do sometimes, I actually take this as a good sign. I do sometimes have to remind myself of your at names. Perfect. Perfect.
Starting point is 00:01:53 Because fuck that name. It is the weird thing about becoming real life good friends with people you met on Twitter is for a while. Like Tyler was Tyler D.FJZ in my phone for like, I don't know, six months. months or something after we'd like met and become actual real life friends. And then I just saw it one day and I was like, that's fucking stupid. He's Tyler. You were Garabasio in my phone from Jump ain't but one motherfucking Garterbaccio on the planet, bro. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:24 Well, yeah, functionally that's true. I am Garty B. A.K.A. Mike. What do I do? I don't even know. Motherfucking Mike. We're produced as always by Adam Grascia and Jackson Saffon. And Jackson is hornier for this episode of a podcast.
Starting point is 00:02:37 that any producer has ever been salivating. I just love the content, baby. Just love this show. Just love Jenkins and Jones. Best pot on the play. Subscribe. Subscribe. Subscribe five stars.
Starting point is 00:02:50 Recommend us to your friends all that podcast. Bullshit. All right. Normally at this point, I will start doing an ad read and Tyler and John will wait for me to be done
Starting point is 00:03:00 so we can start laughing about stuff together. But we have a very special ad for game time right now. And the reason is special is that We're getting free tickets from game time to go out to a game, which John and I are hopefully going to be going to a Lakers game together, taking Vinny to his first ever NBA game, which he is going to be like shitting himself over. To see Jha. I'm just as horny as Jackson is about this pod to see Jaya play. I'm putting my jersey on and everything. I'm fanboying, you feel me?
Starting point is 00:03:32 You got to do the mom in the stands watching her kids play against each other. you got to do the half jaw half brawn jersey. Bro, what's crazy is I have a Jha jersey and never bought a bronze jersey. The only jersey I have are Kobe and Jha. You know what I mean? That's how I feel about that man. That's how I feel about that man.
Starting point is 00:03:55 If you are looking to get out to an NBA game or an NHL game, NFL playoff game, anything else, game time has amazing last minute deals on tickets to all of these. I know we were just looking at the ticket prices and it's definitely cheaper on GameTime than I have been seeing on some of the other platforms as I've been trying to figure out what game to take Vinny to, so really appreciate that about Game Time. Game Time, the fastest growing ticketing app in the U.S.
Starting point is 00:04:20 No matter where you live, you can get out and have some fun this week. Download the GameTime app. Enter your email and redeem code J&J for $20 off your first purchase. Terms apply. Again, enter your email and the code J&J, that's J-A-N-D-J for $20 off. Download game time today. Last minute tickets. lowest price guaranteed. Tyler's paying the coach VCU for $48. Yeah. I am actually very excited about that game time thing. That's great.
Starting point is 00:04:52 I mean, you know, like when you start a podcast or your friends, you do it to have fun, right? That's why, you know, y'all had the podcast. That's why I jumped onto it. I think you make a little bit of money. That's cool for sure. But you don't really expect there to be perks of podcasting necessarily. necessarily. You know what I mean? And to get to take my kid to his first NBA game, which he's been asking me to do literally for like since the day
Starting point is 00:05:14 Braun came to the Lakers. That's great. I'm fired up. Podcasting, making dreams come true. You know whose dreams did not come true earlier this week, fellas? And I don't think we've ever let a show with college football. But we have got to talk about a 65 to 7 national championship game.
Starting point is 00:05:39 Tough one for the TCU Horny Frogs. I don't know if I've ever in my life seen Georgia up by 40, whatever they were up by a halftime, eating wings on the sideline, going to the sweets to get some wings. That's the
Starting point is 00:05:54 most disrespectful shit you could do at a football game or any game, right? Easily. Easily. I think we just have to I mean, you know, they're going to expand the playoff four, man. that shit is just going to become the SEC invitation at that point.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Like, we just need to cut the bullshit. Like, bro, if you're not Ohio State or Clemson, do not go in the championship game against the SEC team because you don't get your ass drug. Like, I asked Texas people, because I was, you know, this is a Texas school. I thought they might have had a shot because the only schools outside of the SEC to have won a championship since 2007
Starting point is 00:06:30 are Texas and Ohio State, right? And Clemson and Florida State. Okay. So these are all southern programs except for all that stuff. I asked Twitter. I was like, bro, I was like, how Christiany is Texas Christian? Because these ain't real Texas kids out here, dog. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:06:47 And they were like, you know, it's a party school. It's just Christian in the name only. But it is a rich kid, you know, university. I was like, ah, okay. So these aren't the Texas kids who are eating grits with their hands going up. These are the Texas kids who are eating avocado toast. It's a difference, bro. These ain't the Friday Night Lights, Texas kids.
Starting point is 00:07:04 You know what I'm saying? So, yeah, so. Boomy Miles is not walking through that door. Exactly. Exactly. So, bro, we just need to be honest, man. If you ain't a, if you ain't an SEC team, if you ain't a team that is deeply southern in your roster,
Starting point is 00:07:17 not rich southern, like, from the trenches southern. You just ain't going to have a shot versus these SEC boys, bro. My buddy did like a show, like, interviewing the players, and the demographics are crazy. I'm like, there's a lot of blonde-haired, blue-eyed people that might not be. might not make it out this game come Monday. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:07:37 Shit didn't look sweet. But, bro, I mean, they needed energy to keep whooping them niggas ass. You know what I'm saying? Like, that's what the wings were for. They had earned the right. You need food when you up 40 on a motherfucking tee. You know what I mean? How do you finish the game?
Starting point is 00:07:53 They ran it up in them boys, man. Would anybody lie to themselves that TCU had a chance? Like, did anybody, you know, outside of, you know, them? I heard the kids talking. Outside of the Homegirl Live moods from the volume fan. Who I literally was like I was covering a basketball game that night. But we were actually talking about Liv was like she flew to L.A. Like there's probably so many fans that flew to L.A. for that game.
Starting point is 00:08:17 At the game. She was a cheerleader I believe though, right? You know what I'm saying? At TCU. At TCU. So she's a hardcore TCU fan. And I saw her the picture she took afterwards where she was in the gym where that was host in Georgia wearing horned frogs gear. so, hey man, you're braver to me, I might have burned something.
Starting point is 00:08:36 You feel me? Ain't no way. But those are the easiest asswops to take when you know from the first quarter that you have no shot in hell. You know what I mean? Those are way than the heartbreak in last second loss. There's no easy way to get beat by a trillion. Shit. To get beat by a trillion, bro.
Starting point is 00:08:52 But when you know there's a whole half of football left and you do not have to deal with any heartbreak, you already dealt with the reality, that's way easier than heartbreaking at like the last second. than somebody coming back from 283. Yes, you know what I'm saying? Like, it's easier than it going down to the last play, you know what I'm saying, with like the Patriots versus the, uh, versus Seattle, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:09:12 It's easier than that. But it's still embarrassing as a motherfucker. Them kids got, you know what I mean? I feel bad for them kids have to go to school the next day. Like, you know what I mean? They had no, they had no business being there. I blame the people in power.
Starting point is 00:09:26 Put them kids in that situation. You know what I mean? I blame the white. It's a white man's fault in it always. Crazy. They had no business being there, bro. It's rough. I can't believe I think Michigan.
Starting point is 00:09:38 Was Michigan, really that bad? Was Michigan, like, they beat Michigan. Michigan was good. Michigan was undefeated and they beat Michigan. They were, but really was Michigan really that good? I think because they would have got their ass putting the casket just like TCU did too, you know what I mean? In the first quarter. I'm, I will say I am with Tyler.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Like, I've been a sports fan my whole life. so my five stages of grief can take place within three quarters of football. You know what I mean? If it's just an absolute ass whipping like that, like you guys know I'm a big Niners fan. The Niners are playing the Seahawks this weekend. I think we're going to beat the dog shit out of the Seahawks. But if the Niners are down 28 to zero after the first quarter after two pick sixes or something,
Starting point is 00:10:17 I'll be thinking about the Dodgers by the end of the game. You know what I mean? What if they lose by 50? What if they lose by 50? You know what I mean? I probably won't be on social media for a couple of the game. I'm just telling you there ain't no easy way to get past that shit
Starting point is 00:10:36 dog that shit crazy the other thing I loved was and I don't know y'all tell me is it the turning disrespect into fuel I feel like that's more powerful in football than in any other sport but there was a Georgia player
Starting point is 00:10:53 who was doing an interview after the game and was like they said we were going to go seven and five like no one believed in us it's like you're the defending national champions you were the preseason number one no one literally no one on earth thought you were going seven and five
Starting point is 00:11:08 not one person thought you were going seven and five but the imagined disrespect was so powerful that it helped fuel them to a 60 point win in the national championship what the fuck football dude is a different man like you said ain't nobody in the world
Starting point is 00:11:24 those motherfuckers were going to go seven and five are you kidding me they were so good They had a lot of themselves. You know what I mean? They had a lot of themselves to create a reason for them to show up every day. You know what I mean? Exactly. I think something that's being overlooked is in the whole chicken wing incident.
Starting point is 00:11:40 The running back took that plate to his own line first before he got one of itself. Big respect. Big respect. That's what this team shit is about. Smart. Feed the hogs up front first. I loved it. I want to talk about the craziest thing that happened in sports today.
Starting point is 00:11:53 And I recognize that this might not happen in sports this week. I recognize this might not be the most exciting thing. I as a sports writer have consumed so much sports that weird shit generally gets me very excited in sports. And I don't know the last time something is weird as the heat going 40 for 40 from the free throw line happened. That is like that honestly I can't even imagine how high that ranks on my list of weird sports shit. That is nuts 40 for 40. Yes. You know, all in line with how this is perhaps it is the most insane offensive season we've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Like, you know, I tweeted out, bro, have they widening the rims? Get me a ladder and a tape measure. I'm on the job because this shit is, it's just 40 for 40. That is the most free those made at 100% ever in an NBA game. Just a ridiculous stat. Yeah, so Tyler brought up a point about how they might have made the basket bigger. Hey, I don't know, gee. Weirder things have happened, dog.
Starting point is 00:12:52 They may have. This shit ain't normal, gee. This shit ain't normal. that would be a fucking Pat Riley thing to do too you know what I mean like sneak it in there we're just going to make it a little bigger just not visibly bigger just a little bit bigger
Starting point is 00:13:08 that's all he's the type to freeze the next the day before to slow the team down you know what I mean for sure it's the it's the anti-carnaval rim you know what I mean we're just going to make it a little bit bigger um okay I apologize for having no idea how to pronounce this kid's name,
Starting point is 00:13:28 but DeNursed Colin, a football player at Erie College, much better known to America at large as a kid from the Popeye's meme, officially has been signed as an endorser, a spokesman for Popeyes, basically just after posting on social media that he wanted to do that, people were all over Popeye's social media. they made it happen. And he said something that I, that struck me for whatever reason.
Starting point is 00:13:58 He said, I didn't know the internet was like that. I just thought that was great. It was like, yeah, occasionally the internet can do occasionally bullying and, you know, the mobs on social media. Occasionally that does good shit, you know, that that's meaningful to me, though, that he got that. He asked for that and people got that for him. Yes. I love the kid's story because, like, the whole meme was, you know, some weird old trying to clown.
Starting point is 00:14:21 I'm saying he was Terrio. You know, this was like shit. years ago. The kid was only like seven or eight back then. And to see that, you know, a dude trying to be a dickhead and then it all comes and pays dividends in the end for that young man at the end. That's a beautiful story right there because fuck the guy who recorded him. But you did give us a meme
Starting point is 00:14:36 for the ages where we weren't mocking the kid. Like that meme got used when someone was making shit weird and uncomfortable because the dude was being a weird old old to that kid. You know what I'm saying? So, so the reusing of that meme wasn't mocking the kid. It was kind of mocking people who make shit weird like the homie who recorded it did. And it just came back
Starting point is 00:14:52 and now he got a bag behind it. And it's a beautiful thing and I love it and shouts to that young man. It's a top five, top ten mean. The man's earned the right to make some bread off that shit. You know what I'm saying? So I'm glad he's cashing out off of that for sure. All right. John, this is mostly a question for you because you're like one of the two or three people that I go to when I have questions about religious people because you grew up, you grew up religious and around religious people. Okay. Demar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills, who we've talked about on the last couple episodes,
Starting point is 00:15:27 tweeted after the bills scored a touchdown on their first play of their game last weekend. He tweeted, OMFG with like 10 exclamation points. And many of the like prayer warriors who had been, you know, who'd been praying for him and all this stuff, responded to him. And I actually, look, I did not grow up around religious people.
Starting point is 00:15:51 And so I have kind of a blind spot here. Let me give you a sampling. This is Kevin Burke tweeted this out. Some screenshots of some stuff people responded. This is from him tweeting OMFG in response to the bills. Because it stands for all my fucking God. That's the other. Someone responded,
Starting point is 00:16:07 Demar, if you want the Lord to heal you, do not take his name in vain. Get well, brother. Shut the fuck up, bro. Just, do I have to hear the rest of this? Okay, go ahead. Somebody said, uh,
Starting point is 00:16:20 uh, God using me different, DeMar Hamlin. also DeMar, OMFG, and then the like slash face emoji. It said that didn't take long with a face hand covering the face emoji. And then the worst one was some of it. This is actually going to make John hit his computer. Someone said, um, no, we all prayed for you act right.
Starting point is 00:16:39 Ooh, buddy. I'm going to tell you though. I'm going to tell you. As I'm not, this is not cap. I've read the Bible through twice. You feel me? Awesome. I think I've said that before.
Starting point is 00:16:50 You know what I mean? Dog, will not fuck with these niggas. Jesus don't fuck with y'all weird-ass niggas. Y'all are the Pharisees in the Bible. He didn't fuck with y'all weird-ass niggas, okay? Also, there's, you know, like, there's, I think there's a way to, to,
Starting point is 00:17:10 people get really serious about this type of shit, right? And there's a way to worship, and like most people who are normal allow people to worship in their own way. Like, today I was talking to my mom. And we were talking about a fuck nigger. And I said, fuck that nigger. No, mother fuck that nigger.
Starting point is 00:17:28 And my mom said, amen. You know what I mean? You feel what I'm saying? So the point is, bro, you know, and she's a, you know, she loves God. You know what I mean? I don't think God cares about the petty shit our human ass does, right? He runs the universe. You think he cares about fuck?
Starting point is 00:17:47 It's a word to God. It's more than a word to you. You know what I'm saying? Like, so I just, I don't know why. These weirdos, you're so caught up in these real fucking granular things in the Bible. You know what I'm saying? For the most part, when you read it, if you really tapped into it, then you can't follow it word for word.
Starting point is 00:18:05 It's more about just like, these are great stories for you to use when you're making decisions in life. You know what I'm saying? Right. And so like, these weirdos that get so caught up in that type shit, bro, like, dog, God, you might meet Jesus and he might be dropping the F bomb because it is just a fucking word. It means probably more to you than a... Think about that. A God, a God, or the son of God, caring about things to this point, I just don't, I can't,
Starting point is 00:18:33 it just doesn't make any sense, bro. But like, the way that these people, you know what I'm saying, box God in like he's a human, is so weird to me. And then how they, like, are judging. This is exactly what God tells us not to do, what Jesus wanted us not to do, to judge others. and this is an extremely judgmental thing. The dude just went through something that... He's still in the hospital when they're treating...
Starting point is 00:18:58 The fact that he's alive is a miracle. And this is what you come at him with? You know what I'm saying? Like, bro, he's doing something right? If you believe in that, you know what I'm saying? Shut the fuck up. That's what I always comes down to. Bro, it's how it comes down to.
Starting point is 00:19:14 It's free to shut the fuck up. Sometimes you just got to do that. Gee, if... Yeah, yeah. I didn't like that. The worst shit you read was the whole. We pray for you. Act right.
Starting point is 00:19:23 What the fuck is that bullshit? Because that's a white man. That's some white man. Yeah. That's some real. That's a real. That was a white woman. Some of the tweets were from.
Starting point is 00:19:33 Of course it was. Some of the tweets were from black people, but that tweet was from a white woman. Yes. Man, look, you know, we discussed for, I'm agnostic. I don't know if there is a God or not, but I'm over to the possibility of there being one. But if there is a God and he is the God that a lot of Christians describe, I would not fuck with homie. Like how are you the most powerful being in existence and someone curses around you and you're like language?
Starting point is 00:19:55 No, no. What type of dwee would you be? Zoom in specifically. Someone who had had his heart stopped on a football field the previous week by the miracle that you've allowed to occur through human evolution of medical science, this human being is still alive and in complete control of his brain and everything. He is watching his teammates and his brother. brothers score a touchdown where they're all they all showed up wearing his jerseys and shit like this. ESPN you know they turned the flag mics upside down so the e looked like a uh the mic flag the e looked like a three everyone was paying tribute to you you watch your guy score a touchdown on
Starting point is 00:20:35 the first play and he tweeted OMFG he didn't even say a bad word Tyler he tweeted in there sitting in the hospital bed he could have been oh my eff and god and you're telling me that the the the almighty power that created the leaves I'm looking at outside my window, the computer that created everything is going I don't like that F bro, it's, to me it's like
Starting point is 00:21:02 our existence is so complicated. Our existence is so complicated. And you think God sees things in black and white? You know what I'm saying? If you believe in a creator, you don't think he, you know what I'm saying? You think he sees things like, like, like,
Starting point is 00:21:18 and just black and white. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, it's, it's, the way we minimize God is just wild to me.
Starting point is 00:21:26 You know what I'm saying? Like, and I'm like, like, you know, I believe in a God, you know what I mean? I'm not,
Starting point is 00:21:31 I don't consider myself necessarily a Christian. I still have certain values that I was raised. You know what I'm saying? Right. You know what I mean? But I don't know,
Starting point is 00:21:40 but I'm, but I'm more just, you know, I think you and Shaw are very similar in that way. Yeah, I have my own personal beliefs, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:21:46 and I have my own person relationship with God, you know what I mean? But I feel like how people minimize God. Like, you know, like where there's only, and even if there's heaven, you think there's only one way in heaven, that's just, that's wild to me. Where you think, like, if you're a Christian, how many, how many people are Muslim out there that have different beliefs? The majority of people who are religious are Muslim, right?
Starting point is 00:22:07 And you think all them are going to hell? You think that, you think a loving God, a loving God created the world in that way? The way we just, how we box him in is just, or it in, it's just so crazy to me. And somebody just coming, like, the dude, if you believe in a God and God gave this man a second chance to you, you know what I'm saying? You believe you have the right to say some shit like that to that man. It's your job to tell this man this shit. That's, bro.
Starting point is 00:22:37 I mean, like, it's stupid. But it's also like, bro, it's so problematic and it's frustrating because that's the reason I stopped going to church. Y'all niggas. Well, you know what I'm saying? I've told you guys this story. I don't think I've talked about it in the podcast. But, you know, my grandpa, you know, I mean, like, you know, family immigrated from Italy, very Catholic, very religious.
Starting point is 00:23:01 There were really harsh ramifications for my dad growing up. That was why he was, you know, for those who are new to the show, my dad was gay and was in the closet until I was like 11 or 12 or something. Growing up in the Catholic Church is why that was the case. You know what I mean? Even being that religious, my grandpa, when the child molestation scandals in the Catholic church happened, he left the church. People tell me whatever they want. Like, I know right from wrong.
Starting point is 00:23:31 I was in church my whole life. That's how I know right from wrong. And he disassociated in some formal ways from the church when that happened. But even before that, he was always someone who thought about exactly the questions you just said, John. And the reason I bring my grandpa up is this is not a. forward-thinking person. He was just a thinking person.
Starting point is 00:23:48 He just thought. This is right. You know? But that was something he said. He said, I just don't believe that the God who created the universe would just make it so that it just so happened that I was born at the right time and the right place to believe the only correct thing. Like if I've been born in India, just no shot.
Starting point is 00:24:06 No shot, bro. No chance. It's just wild. It's just wild, bro. But like, I told you, like, I said this before in a power. where I was in church, and I remember, like, listening to the pastor talking about all these people that are going to hell that didn't believe, right? And I'm thinking about the people that in my life that don't believe and how good of people
Starting point is 00:24:25 they are. And would a God really sin a really good person? You know what I'm saying? To hell to burn for eternity. A loving God, which is what you're telling me, you know what I'm saying? It just doesn't add up. You feel me? And so, like, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:24:40 What people get so caught up in things like that, it reminds me of stuff like that. reasons why I just don't participate in that and just kind of created my own relationship. But yeah, bro, like, that's just, that's, to me, personally, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, that's, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, and, like, and, it's, , like, Doc, who are you to tell this man. You feel me?
Starting point is 00:25:04 You feel me? You play for him. So, now you can decide how he celebrates, and, and, you know, it's just, bro, it's just, and then like you said, he didn't even say the F word. He wrote O MFG. That's a O MFG. You know what I'm saying? Like that's it.
Starting point is 00:25:19 They're letters, man. Like I don't, they put too much power in the silliest shit and ignoring the real important things. You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? Like maybe he was saying, oh, my fearsome God. Maybe. Maybe.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Oh, my fearsome God. Oh, my fantastic God. Yeah. That's, you know, that, you know what I mean? That brought me back. You know what I'm saying? After nine minutes. So, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:25:43 Come on, gee. Come on. I just, I just, I just, I just, I just, I just can't imagine if you truly believe in a God, if, if you believe that God created life on this rock in the middle of an infinite nothingness in regards to life outside of us, light years beyond us, a planet where we are living because plants eat sunshine and turn those into oxygen molecules that our bloodstream absorbs. You think a God who could create something that complicated, a fuck about an OMFG tweet.
Starting point is 00:26:14 Bro. Like really? Come on, man. Like they're talking about, they're talking about like, I remember I type God, lowercase, capitalized God. You think God gives a fuck about punctuation, nigga? The fuck? The way they minimize the literal creator of the universe is mind blowing.
Starting point is 00:26:35 You think you know. Or figurative. It's just like dog. You know what I mean? like if you believe that how are you minimizing this man you know this this being it's it's wild you believe he's all powerful and all knowing and then proceed to minimize you know what mean it the being it's crazy it's crazy it's wild he don't give I can't imagine being a god and caring about punctuation I can't imagine being a polytheistic god of a minor thing like
Starting point is 00:27:10 I can't imagine being the god of cigarette butts and caring about punctuation. Like much less the God of all creation, bro. Come on. There might be a god of punctuation. And God's like, that's his job or that's her job. That's his job. That ain't my job. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:27:26 Hollad that nigga. Because me over here, I don't give a fuck. Capital F. Religion needs a rebrand, bro. Like besides, you know, how it's often used as a tool of bigotry. and all that, it's just so fucking boring the way that people use it. Like, you know, the concept of heaven
Starting point is 00:27:46 always bored the shit out of me, because I will be in church, and they'd be like, and when you go to heaven and the whole thing is you're going to worship God for eternity. I'm like, bro, heaven is church forever? So tell me more about hell. That's exactly what I was thinking. What is going on in hell?
Starting point is 00:28:02 Like, bro, there's a story in a Bible where a dude kills a whole army with a donkey jawbone. Why aren't we discussing that more? Bro. You know what I'm saying? Why is there a movie for that? Starring the fucking Dave Batista or some shit. You said they spun off the wrong backstories, bro.
Starting point is 00:28:18 You know what the fuck? Give us a house and dragon shit, bro. Come on. It sounds like that man killing that army with that donkey jaw bones, right? We need 12 books, 600 pages of that, bro. Oh, shit. NFL Wild Card Weekend is here. And the easiest way to get into the,

Starting point is 00:29:56 slash RG. Great transition into this but you know social media one of the things I dislike about is that it is watered down shit talking because anyone can do it now you don't have to be good at it And there's nothing like a real professional level hatchet job. I don't know if you all know this. Edgar Allen Poe could write a hatchet job like nobody. He wrote some book reviews after one of them, the author threatened to kill him. The book review was so mean. No, I think it was wild back then.
Starting point is 00:30:29 A book review and a man was like, I want you. You know, you're like, I need that. Like, you can legally, you can legally kill a motherfucker for being smirching your name of the 800. Like channels them to a duel and shit. Robe me that fairwell. Yeah. Swart fight over a fucking book review.
Starting point is 00:30:48 We got a hatchet job of that caliber from Rolling Stone on a story with the headline, Skip Bayliss has always been a piece of shit. And I'm just going to read you the opening paragraph of this story. He is one of the most unappealing men you could imagine. A cropped haircut floating atop that. thin, weirdly muscular frame punctuated by a reedy, deeply irritating voice. No one agrees with him. You do not log on to Twitter and see the phrase,
Starting point is 00:31:21 Hey, when Skip is on, you got to admit he makes some good points. He never makes good points. He makes bad points one after another in a manner that drowns the viewer in rhetorical molasses. There are no skip stands, no Bayless Army. He is not on TV for any reason other than his freakishness. bro skip sprize people
Starting point is 00:31:47 or attempts to with sensationalism right you know what I mean or just flat out bullshit this man fried him with the truth
Starting point is 00:31:56 there wasn't a lie in a syllable of that entire paragraph and then he and then he and then he stuck in calling Stephen A cook as well he asked small
Starting point is 00:32:11 he wanted smoke from everybody. That's crazy. Bro. Like Mike said that that excerpt in the group chat. I was like, bro, who wrote this? Donald Trump?
Starting point is 00:32:21 Like, I was like, god. Like, who did Donald Trump say? He looks disgusting up there, sweating through his shirt, nipples protruding. I was like, God. Hey, that's some heat though.
Starting point is 00:32:30 That's some heat. I'm like, you know, I'm just saying it now. I was like, you know, but that he heated that man up. Yeah, but, man, he fried the fuck out that man. But, I mean, I think the point he's making it. Like, there's, no lies told, but that is, that's what has made Skip Skip.
Starting point is 00:32:46 He is the villain. He's the man with, with no country, with no one behind him. He's the guy, you know, screaming into the, in the middle of the fucking eye of the storm by himself, taking on, you know, whatever shit gets thrown his way. Like, that's who Skip is. You know what I mean? Like, like, the only time we've ever seen him backpedal was, you know, the shit he said about Hamlin. And he had to say that because it was borderline life or death shit. You know what I'm saying? Like, and even then, Shannon came on the show and Skip was still being a dickhead to him. You know what I mean? I mean, so, so yeah, that's who Skip is.
Starting point is 00:33:14 He has made his career he's made his living off just being that one guy who everybody fucking hates. Is that, is that still profitable? Do you think in that space you can be that guy? It's profitable for him. And for him, I'm saying, yeah, for him, I'm saying, you cannot duplicate it. You can't do that. I think he's the, if there was somebody before him, he's the last of him.
Starting point is 00:33:35 I don't think, you know what she can make that, because people just stop fucking with you. And I think with Skip, like online, like they, they ate them. up over that statement, but his takes on basketball where he's just trying to round people up about Brown and shit, that doesn't do to have the same effect. I've been muted that, man, and I've blocked him one of the, I don't see him on my timeline anymore, I know that. You know what I'm saying? I think a lot of people follow suit.
Starting point is 00:33:56 So I don't know if there's... The thing is, go ahead. Yeah, the thing is there was a time when Skip did have a arm. For sure, no, yeah, yeah. There was a time when he was on the, the bro, bra, I'm not impressed by anything you do win something. And a lot of sports fans felt like that. For sure, for sure, for sure.
Starting point is 00:34:11 Yeah. I think when it was him and Stephen A, there were probably also a lot of white people behind him who just look for the white guy to root for any kind of a white versus black argument as well, right? I mean, yeah. Yeah, that for sure played a part. The family-fewa-type situation. You always.
Starting point is 00:34:26 I get it. But I'm saying, like, do you think he's like, do you think him going to Fox? I just, I honestly have not really seen. I think people agreed with him. You know what I'm saying with the bronze stuff? And I think there was, that was a valid point. I'm not impressed. win something. That was a valid point. He hasn't had a valid point since that. You feel
Starting point is 00:34:45 me? And like they said, he has no army. Like, no, like there's nothing, there's, there's nobody with him. He's just, he's John Snow, you know what I'm saying? But he, but he's blind and fucking 85. John Snow's hard as fuck. Don't say. You know what I'm just saying? He said he's a John Snow meme. You know what I mean? Right. Right, right, right. Um, shout out to Corbyn Smith wrote the story. I realize we're, we're enjoying what an artful job he did without me saying his name. but that was my my bum up on that one go every chef's kiss look at them up there sweating nipples protruding nipples protruding he really hit that man with a haymaker bro if you up there sweat and nipples protruding you do look disgusting
Starting point is 00:35:27 Jesus I can't disagree with you on that John what's up what's up you tweeted earlier this week off and target. Have y'all been on target lately? I think it's city targets. I don't think it's suburban targets. And that's one benefit of the suburbs. Is that suburban targets are still solid. City targets are Walmart, bro. Every target I've gone to in L.A.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Terash. Trash, bro. Horrible. I'm hearing like, ain't shit on the shelves like they're supposed to. They lock your shit up now. I'm like, nigga, I pay too much rent to come to the target down the street. and getting like, ain't my shit locked up. You feel me?
Starting point is 00:36:14 My real, but I do, you know, I do stay in a particular area. Or, or I do stay adjacent to a particular area. But I'm saying, digger. You know what I'm saying? That ain't Target's thing. That's some Walmart shit. You feel me? So I don't know what's going on.
Starting point is 00:36:29 The vibes ain't there anymore. The shit dirty now. Like, the music ain't even hitting like it used to. And they'd be having like four people. That's why I stopped going to Walmart. You know what I mean? Like the, you know, y'all, Y'all really, y'all slacking over there.
Starting point is 00:36:42 The energy ain't the same no more. And then also, it's always these people outside asking me to sign some shit. No, I'm not signing no big oil shit so some nigga can dig up in my backyard. You know what I'm saying? Trying to, it's like, it's always, bro, it's, it's too much.
Starting point is 00:36:58 It's become a huge undertaking. Instead of like a vibe little, hey, I get to go to Target, it's going to be a nice little vibe. I'm going to roam around a little bit. I'll be up in and out that motherfucker like it's Walmart. You know what I'm saying? I can't wait to get out of Target.
Starting point is 00:37:11 Target. It's crazy. It's unfortunate. I mean, I mean, Target has always been classes if we're keeping it a buck. Like, you go to the Target on the nice side of town. There's produce sections and shit. You go to the targets on like the black side of town. There's none of that shit. So, I mean, I, you know, I fuck with Target. I'm, I know that there's like a Target cult who loves that fucking store. I'm just, yeah, Tarjeet, motherfucker. But Target always been on some classes shit to me, bro. I mean, dog, like, we got the produce. We also got the fucking locks at our shit, too.
Starting point is 00:37:40 You know what I'm saying? I think, and I asked to say, yo, like, I said, what, when y'all started locking shit up? It's like, they're doing that at every target now. Every target. I'm like, wow, this makes, I have to see. What are they locking up? Like, like, suit ofeds and shit like that? No, but not just that.
Starting point is 00:37:55 I'm trying to get my motherfucking dove body wash with, you know what I'm saying, the cocoa butter shit. And I got to wait 10 minutes for a motherfucker with a red shirt to come unlock the shit. I'm like, nigga, bro. I just want to, I just don't, I don't want to be musty. That's all. You know what I'm saying? Like I'm just like who like come on Zee I'm talking about the big bottles
Starting point is 00:38:13 It's not even like the little shit that's easy to steal You take locking everything up in that little area Crazy When we were in I don't like talking about like You know it's like a big conservative talking point That like American cities are unsafe and filthy And all this like you know horrible shit or whatever
Starting point is 00:38:30 I usually just stay as far away from that stuff as possible Because it's like a talking point for a viewpoint I don't believe in and like othering human beings And everything obviously but there are some moments I know we have friends in L.A. We have friends in San Francisco. We have friends in New York.
Starting point is 00:38:47 Everyone has had a moment in the last year or two where you're like, damn, this is fucking, it's not the best though. You know, we had a homeless dude in the tunnel that I walked my kids at school through who was burning a plastic spoon and huffing the burning plastic, bro. At like 3 o'clock in the afternoon yesterday.
Starting point is 00:39:08 I was like, hey, man. It's about to be a bunch of kids walking through here. Like, you need to take this somewhere else. You know what I mean? Like, and the, uh, we were in Fresno for a football game. I don't know if I told you all about, did I tell you all about the 7-Eleven in downtown Fresno that we went to? No, no.
Starting point is 00:39:24 If I wanted to be a fucking Jason Whitlock or some shit, I could have made a lot of money selling a cell phone footage from that night, bro. We got into town at like 10.30 p.m. And so we're like, okay, let's, we got to get some food, get settled. into the hotel room or whatever, right? Nothing open in downtown Fresno. Nothing open at 10 p.m. So we're like, okay, there's a 7-Eleven,
Starting point is 00:39:47 like a half mile from here. We'll just go hit the 7-Eleven. We pull up to the 7-Eleven. It's like a whole encampment in the parking lot. Oh. We go, we're like, all right, bro, whatever. We're from Southern California. I'm not worried about any type of person ever in history
Starting point is 00:40:00 from fucking Fresno, right? Yeah. So we walk into the 7-Eleven. It's like a 16-year-old kid working by himself behind the counter, right? And this dude looks. looks up at us like we were heaven sent from God himself to save his life. He looked up at us like help me. And when we go, bro, there is icy all over the floor because people were just walking in and like holding the thing down and filling their cups and just like letting stuff with us.
Starting point is 00:40:29 So stuff sloshing all over the floor. He ain't going to say nothing to him. Of course now. He shouldn't. He shouldn't. He shouldn't. He shouldn't. No, he shouldn't. And, uh, and we're walking up and down and We're, I mean, look, I'm with people from the Long Beach Poly football program, bro. These are not like soft suburban people or whatever. We're walking up and down the aisles looking at each other like, bro, they locked up the sour punch, the sour punch straws. Like, they locked up the Reese's pieces, bro. Like, they got like, we could not get one thing without having to do come on lock it. We're just like, hey, man, like, hang in there.
Starting point is 00:41:03 I don't know what else to say to you. God bless. It's like, but I mean, I see. know 15 people in and out the whole time we're there one of them's like not really wearing any pants like dude it just it was a it was a like we went back and we're sitting there with again some people from inner city long beach looking at each other like i'm glad we're from mayfield you know like it was crazy bro this some crazy shit all right uh should i tell this Tracy morgan jupe story from conan's podcast of course Conan did a live show um with uh i know
Starting point is 00:41:40 Tyler and I both grew up as big fans of Conan. I listened to his pod when I've got time to do it because I usually find it pretty funny. He did a live show with Tracy Morgan a couple weeks back. And Tracy Morgan made a joke to him about, you know, going on dates wearing jupe. That, like, that's where, you know,
Starting point is 00:41:56 he was at a particular time in his life. And Conan was like, what is jupe? Like, is jupe a two America's thing? Because, bro, if you were like, if you were coming up in the 90s and black, you either had about it or you knew someone who had about it. That was like a staple with us, bro. I would say almost everything about black culture is a
Starting point is 00:42:15 two America situation if it happened before social media. That's a good point. That's a good point. And like I tell you all the time, I miss the days when you had to actually know black people to know about to, yeah, I shouldn't say that. You have to actually know black people to know about that black culture. Yeah, about black shit. Right. But so Tracy said, I'll send you some. So he sent him He said that man some cheap
Starting point is 00:42:41 In 2023 Yeah He said Conan O'Brien's fucking You know 60 year old That whatever it was He sent him I think Conan said he sent him
Starting point is 00:42:51 Two bottles of jupe One for the office He said he sent him One for the office And one for home That is a lifetime supply In 2009 Bro
Starting point is 00:43:00 Bro And so His grand kids are going to be Using that shit He said something To Conan about You know He smelled so bad
Starting point is 00:43:06 At the certain time that he wore half a bottle of juice and so Conan was like okay man my friend Tracy sent me this this cologne you know like let me let me uh let me try this on so he he's at home he said he splashed a bunch
Starting point is 00:43:22 he's not colonus said he's like never really worn cologne so he said he splashed a bunch on his neck and like rubbed it in or whatever he said he walked down into the kitchen and his wife like looked up and turned around before he even got into the room and was like and he was like I'm wearing a new cologne, you know?
Starting point is 00:43:39 And she was like, he said, she said, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot, dot. Oh. Bro. Growing up, every fucking uncle that I ever met had jukegee. You know what I mean? Like, and they would all go to the fucking base and buy it from their tax free. You know what I'm saying? They had a homie that would get a, like, bro.
Starting point is 00:44:05 It's, it's, it's such a. prominent thing, you know what I'm saying? Like growing up, like, it's a running joke even, like 30 years later, 20 years later about Jute, bro. But the baby's two bottles. Like, dog, no. I'm glad all recipes aren't lost. We still have certain things that still exist.
Starting point is 00:44:25 You know what I'm saying? But, dog, Jup wasn't like, dog. It was like, this, yo daddy out here smelling like Jute. Like, you know, that's me clowning that nigga, you know what I'm saying? What the fuck you got on Jute? Like, you know what I'm saying? That's who he's, you feel me? But also it's funny that he's never wore cologne,
Starting point is 00:44:41 but I guarantee he smelled good because rich people always smell good, even if they don't wear cologne. And it's a weird fucking phenomenon, dog. Every motherfucker I smelled, they had money, bro. Smell so good. I'm like, what the fuck do y'all be on, gee? It's crazy.
Starting point is 00:44:55 They got the real soap. Cousins, cousins sat next to me. They got the Illuminati soap. Dude, cousin said next to me, I'm like, bro, what you got? I ain't got no cologne on. I'm like, this nigger smells delicious. You feel me?
Starting point is 00:45:07 It's crazy. It's weird. But he said, yeah, Kona said his kids came home and they were like, blah. Like, what? It's horrible. It's horrible. He said he tried to wash it off and he couldn't get the smell off. He said it was like tattooed onto him to the extent that even though he took a shower that
Starting point is 00:45:24 night, he said it. It lingers. Like I sleep face down and it got into my pillow. Bro. He sleeps face down? He's like a crowd royal bag, bro. What do you mean like chest down or face down? Like face down?
Starting point is 00:45:36 Probably chest down. Okay, I'm gonna say, bro. Who's sleeping with their face in the pillow? That's some... That's some serial killer shit. I like Conan, bro. I hope you ain't out here sleeping with your face dead in the pillow.
Starting point is 00:45:50 All right. That's all the time we got for today. We'll be back on... What day is today? We'll be back on Monday. Hope everyone has a great weekend. I hope the rest of your week goes smooth. And we'll see you all in a couple days.
Starting point is 00:46:02 Bye. Bye.
