Starting point is 00:00:55 Welcome to Jengis and Jones on the volume podcast network. It is Monday, February 13th. And the last time we were this excited to record a podcast, we talked about Mike Tirico for fucking 10 minutes. Let's go. As always, we're on Amazon Amp. It's live. It's early in the morning on Monday. Definitely, thank you for listening on Amazon Amp or on the other platforms as soon as we're done.
Starting point is 00:01:20 As always, Jenkins & Jones hosted by Dragonfly Jones, aka Tyler. Hey, everybody out again. Let's Jethro Jenkins, aka the boot scooting John. What's that? Bubba. I'm Gartie B. AKA Mike. Mother fucking Mike. Mother fucking Mike.
Starting point is 00:01:37 Mother fucking Mike. On the ones a team. Let's talk about the Super Bowl Let's talk about 1600 block Atlantic Avenue Juju Smith-Schuster Game winning Super Bowl Holding
Starting point is 00:01:52 Holding draw Love it though Love it though I really lit up this This is the fucking best thing ever Listen It's a holding call Bro
Starting point is 00:02:04 The same people talk about I can't believe that a call When Braun go into the fucking rim want them to not call a holding call on fucking third down at the end of a Super Bowl. If you hold a receiver coming out of that route, he can't get to the fucking ball. It's a holding call. Officials should officiate shit all the way through the end of the game. I do not understand the argument that, like, you should let the defender do whatever
Starting point is 00:02:27 he wants to a receiver because it's late in the football game and it's bad TV. That shit does not make any fucking sense. Ring my boy up either way. Fuck it. And the shit is everyone's argument is, oh, you can't. call that right there. Not that it shouldn't have been called. Not that it wasn't a hold. It's just you can't call that right there. Why the fuck
Starting point is 00:02:45 you can't? Motherfuck, it's the biggest game of the year. It was an obvious blatant fucking hold. And he hit him when he hit the break on his route, which is the main time. You know, that is that split second where the quarterback Right. Because Mahomes knew that
Starting point is 00:03:00 knew that it was a hold before he even saw the flag. He was pleading for that shit as soon as he saw how much he overthrew him because of the time it was fucked up. You know what I'm saying? So, yeah. People aren't saying it's not a whole. They're just like, you can't call it right there. Yeah, the fuck you can and you should. My neighbor is an Eagles fan.
Starting point is 00:03:17 I was outside hitting golf balls watching the game in my backyard. But the man's probably still back there cursing, nigger. I was, I was, I was praying for him, nigga. I just don't want him to pass out from anger, nigga, like, you know what I'm saying? She was crazy. Fuck it, yeah, that. Anyway, though. Braun tweeted he didn't think that they should have thrown the flag.
Starting point is 00:03:43 And I was like, Braun, this is the exact same shit that happened to you, bro. That's the exact same rationale, bro. He overthrew him, hellas. He wasn't catching that at any point. You know what I'm saying? If he doesn't hold him in and out of the dig on that route, it's a wide open touchdown. Like the other wide open touchdowns he threw. I don't think it's wide open.
Starting point is 00:04:01 You know what I'm saying? But like, I understand. That's why he held him. He was beat. The safety was over top. The safety was over top. But anyway. The safety was not over top.
Starting point is 00:04:08 That was a butt-ass naked route if he comes out of that fucking route. Hey, whatever. Y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all, y'all are professional football watches, nigger. I just, I just watch on the Super Bowl every year, but it looked like the safety was over top. He looked like had him deep. But anyway, like, I just, I understand not calling. I understand the argument, you know what I'm saying, to not call it. I mean, for me, it's just like I wish it didn't come down to that because the game was so good.
Starting point is 00:04:31 You know what I'm saying? Like, I watched the second half. It was such a good second half, bro. I wish it didn't come down to that. But I understand why they called it, for sure. you, man. It is like, I acknowledge for television's sake. Obviously, I had a rooting interest in the specific receiver in question. Fucking lifelong friend of my sons. I'm happy for Juju. I'm happy for you. The best kid ever for sure. But the defensive back said, it was a holding call.
Starting point is 00:04:55 I was hoping they didn't throw it. I grabbed a jersey. That's what he said. Shout out to him. It's a little bit different than the ref I touched the ball. It is a little bit different because the ref already called it. Because the ref already called it. The ref already called it. Yeah. Yeah. But, but at the same time. You know what I mean? It's funnier to reference that. Let's not take the fun out of it. All right.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Yeah, okay. There we go. So what do we think of Pat Mahomes' dad? It's not smoking on Joe Burrow this week is fucking Philly Blunts. Philly Blunts. Again, just further affirming that he is the exact type of black man that he is. And I love it because I'm because that motherfucker. feels like home he feels like my uncles and shit you know what I'm saying? Fax
Starting point is 00:05:41 yeah Philly Blunt nigger bro when the last time you saw Philly Blunt nigga you know what I'm saying like it gotta be gotta be nigger and I but because he reminds me a home I understand why they hide a man you know what I mean they don't want him to fuck a bag up because he got some fucking bad he got he has some verbish that will fuck a bag up you know what I'm saying I guarantee because I got he's like 80% of my uncles but they all I'm my always happy for a real nigga, you know what I'm saying? I love, I love seeing a man happy, you feel me? But we want to see him ask what he's smoking on.
Starting point is 00:06:15 We don't want any interviews about current events. No, we don't want that, though. We don't want none of that, man, you know what I'm saying? I did want somebody to find him. I was like, somebody find him and get his little, you know what I'm saying, his little one, two, and they get him up out of there, baby. Let him go enjoy himself. Would you agree that part of what makes him a perfect uncle is that he had that
Starting point is 00:06:37 shit so ready to go. And you know that's about the 30th time he dropped that shit because he knew everyone was going to ask him after the game what he's smoking on. And he's like, I got my little pearl. I tucked it right here in my pocket on my chest. I'm going to pull it out whenever I need it. I love to see it. Yeah, yeah. O'Heds will lean into a joke like that. And they'll go with some frat-fine shit every other time. So for sure. All right. Let's talk about the NFL's decision to hose the field down with mayo or whatever the fuck it was that these dudes could not stay on their feet the entire game. They were doing press about how good the field was beforehand.
Starting point is 00:07:19 They were talking about we spent $800,000. That's literally the number. $800,000 on this grass. It was worked on by two years meticulously by this old man who calls himself the sod father. Well, fucking Luca Bratzi ran all up in Phoenix and fuck that turf up. But how do you put a Super Bowl together and they can't stay up on the grass? It was the wildest shit I've ever seen. I'm glad the broadcasters were talking about it.
Starting point is 00:07:47 But you could just see like guys were putting on longer cleats. People were falling down all over the place. It was, it was, I just don't understand this about the NFL. They had a specific graphic behind the Lombardi Trophy that played different music and did different animation. But we don't want to make sure that the grass is good. I don't understand it. on the sod father man i think the sod father fucked up man
Starting point is 00:08:13 you know what i mean they spent eight hundred thousand dollars you should be able to stand on that grass you know what i'm saying they did their part the sodfather fumbled digger you know what i mean we was bring this sodfather to justice we gotta find him put him on put him on camera digger we got some questions god damn but i don't know you know i think i think it's it's probably a legit ass science to this shit because I don't think they would spend, you know, that much money for a motherfucker who's just a land scaper.
Starting point is 00:08:40 You know, you probably got to know what certain types of breeds of grass, you know, go with Arizona's climate this type of year and all types of shit like that. So I don't know, maybe there's something wrong in the calculations or some shit. Maybe he picked a fucking Kentucky long blue grass stem type shit when he should have gone with a Bermuda, whatever the fuck on the grass. A commuter purple or something. Maybe he fucked up right there. It is in his goddamn concoctionary. He says the cahoogee. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Whatever the fuck, man. But yeah, yeah. Like I said, I think it's a science. I think he fucked up somewhere along the science. I don't think it was just like a lazy job. No, I thought, yeah, 100%. I mean, he's a dude. Like, he's been apparently in the world of sports landscaping.
Starting point is 00:09:19 He's well known. Like, he worked on the Oakland A's stadium back in the day. Like, you know, he's a well-known dude or whatever. But you just like, this is a game between two of the best quarterbacks, two of the best offenses that we've seen in quite some time. And you have a field where the guys couldn't change direction. I mean, I don't know. You know, there's a big battle between the players and the NFL over guys are saying they want grass, not turf for injury reasons.
Starting point is 00:09:45 And I'm wondering, you know, part of me in my conspiracy brain is like, is the NFL trying to win this argument publicly? But they wouldn't tank their own fucking Super Bowl, I wouldn't think. And they wouldn't do it with Mahomes playing, bro. He's the future, dog. You know what I'm saying? They ain't playing with that. With an ankle injury, ain't no fucking way. Tyler, you know, he's a young dude.
Starting point is 00:10:04 I think he's 26 years old, 27 years old. Two Super Bowls. Very bright future for Pat Mahomes. But where do you contextualize him in terms of quarterbacks that you've seen in your lifetime? He's the most talented quarterback I've ever seen. I've been saying that for about shit, three seasons now. Like I saw enough like after his first two or three seasons.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Like this is the most talented quarterback I've ever seen. Like, you know, I'm not at all saying he's the greatest quarterback. I know that, you know, a resume has to go hand-to-hand with that. And he's got, you know, a little bit more to do. But goddamn, first five years, you got. two Super Bowls, two Super Bowl MVP's, you know, two regular season MVP's. Best start
Starting point is 00:10:41 we've ever seen a quarterback at all to. And like I said, he's the most times that quarterback I've ever seen. I think they said this is the first time he's ever worn white in the playoffs because they've been at home for every playoffs and then in other Super Bowls they were retton. Like you're this deep into your career you've only ever been at home in the playoffs or the Super Bowl. That's insane.
Starting point is 00:11:00 Did y'all hear, this is my last Super Bowl topic. We can talk about whatever else. You guys want to talk about it as well. Did you all hear the, Chris Berman intro to NFL primetime. What did he say? What was that part? He said, fittingly, February 12th.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Abe Lincoln's birthday. What the fuck are you talking about? Black his birth was right there. That's why he said that, huh? I was just like, what the fuck does A Braille? Oh, yeah. We're supposed to be all the black people in America are supposed to be grateful to that guy.
Starting point is 00:11:32 This is what I forgot. Thanks for the. Americans. That was a teleported time machine take from fucking 1964 from Chris Burk. You know some bullshit is going to follow African American, bro. You know what I'm saying? You don't say black. You say African American?
Starting point is 00:11:50 Some bullshit is going to follow, man. So I guess it's a normal take. You know what I mean? I guess. It's just like if you're on the production crew, sorry, if you're on the production crew, sorry, if you're on the production crew for NFL prime time, you know that's a blind spot for Chris fucking Berman, bro. Come on.
Starting point is 00:12:04 Put something on the teleprompter, dog. My mom texted me last night. She was like, yo, I saw, I saw, she listened to the podcast sometimes. She was like, I heard y'all talking about his dad. His dad's an OG. Talking about, he's an OG for show. Talking about my old dad. So, yeah, man.
Starting point is 00:12:25 John, is Jalen Hertz the handsomest man ever to lose the Super Bowl? I don't know, man, but he's still out here being beautiful. So he can always count on that, dog. He played great. I'm happy. I'm happy he did. Whoever lost, I wanted them to still do good because I like both quarterbacks. He played great. Broke records, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:12:43 Showed out with his, I mean, showed like how good he is with his arm as well, not just, you know, he had three Russia touchdowns. But he made some big plays with his arms as well, especially that deep ball at the end. So, yeah, man, it was cool to see him play well. But I would love to see, I would love to see a smile in their face. But it's hard to root to get out of them. I wasn't mad when I wasn't mad when my homas won either. So, you know what I mean? I wish they both could win, as Tyler says,
Starting point is 00:13:07 during the fucking March Madness shit. They both kids to me, you know what I'm saying? I just want everyone to go home feeling good about their experience. Right, right, right, right. Yeah, we're all on the same page about that. Did y'all see anything else in the game or commercials or anything else y'all wanted to talk about with the Super Bowl? I mean, what trip me out was seeing Snoop do a damn
Starting point is 00:13:30 sketch is commercial. I'm like, damn, Snoop being that old made me realize that I am that old to see You know what I'm saying The coolest people that I've ever seen The people that I wanted to be growing up Be old as fuck you know I mean That's had to feel like how you know Joe Montana doing like you know
Starting point is 00:13:49 Now it's shape us You know you're saying this man is sketchers shoe commercial old That's wild to me Snoop Dogg will do retirement home commercials in 10 years bro Snoo Dogg has never missed a sponsorship check opportunity And he never will miss a sponsorship He's shack of the rap world You feel me?
Starting point is 00:14:09 You know what I mean? But dog, it's just still wild that it That he's getting that he's getting hit up by Skechers That mean, come on, see Bro, are we that old? Yes Snoop came out 30 years ago And we remember it vividly
Starting point is 00:14:23 We are that old, yes From murder was the case to fucking, you know what I'm saying? To Skechers That's crazy, crazy. But good for him. You know what I'm saying? Get your back, my cheek. Very, very happy.
Starting point is 00:14:36 Very happy for Snoop Dog. Snoop Dog. Congrats to Snoopaloo. Skechers, man. Snoop Dog, Mr. Skechers. We will, like, this is only the beginning. He's going to continue to say yes. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:14:51 I'm dead serious. There will be a retirement home chain that he is advertising for within dead fucking year. Like, when I'm chilling, I like to be comfortable. This is just the beginning. This is just the beginning. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, this feels like this is like, oh, nigga, you old.
Starting point is 00:15:09 You know what I'm saying? For me, like, it gets worse. Like, I'm going to feel even older than I did at that moment. Hey, man. As all the OGs always say, getting old, that's the good part. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, for sure. It's way better than the fucking alternative.
Starting point is 00:15:27 For so. Getting old means. We were talking about, I had some. many people text me that we were talking about hokas last week. They're just like, y'all are officially old as fuck. Talking to Tyler about how comfortable hokas are. I didn't know what the fuck those were,
Starting point is 00:15:40 Doc. That's why I refused to wear the motherfuckers. Yes. Bro, hokers are sketches to me. I would feel just as old and, you know what I mean? If I threw some sketches on, I'll feel the exact same in some hokas, nigger. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:15:58 And I actually thought about it for a second today on the treadmill. I was like, these Nike ain't quite Nike and like normal, man. Like, I might have to bite the bullet just to save these knees, man. But I'll be a limping-ass
Starting point is 00:16:12 motherfucker out here before you catch me in them big, beefy motherfucker. Fuck. Digger. Dude, that's our dad's shoe, bro. To me, you know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:16:22 That's our heir monarchs, nigga. I'm running as long as I can from them, dog. We see, they might get me at some point, but they ain't got me yet. They'll get you. They'll get us all. They'll get you for sure.
Starting point is 00:16:35 They'll get, they'll get us all. They might give anybody in this year if I'm keeping this stack. This is me beat my ass right now, dog. Maybe by anybody in the black history money, if I'm going to hit it on it. They're going to fucking me. I'll let y'all notice so y'all can fire me up, though. I'll be very high. I got a lot of friends who, you know, a lot of friends walking very comfortably around
Starting point is 00:16:56 Hokas advocating for me wearing hokkas, which I am in the same boat as you. I won't be walking around. wear them like hooping shoes, nigga. I'm going to carry them into the gym. Tie them on and throw them back into my little scrunchy backpack that you remember with a little weak-ass backplace we used to have. The nylon ones. You're going to sit down on the end of the treadmill and change your shoes back before you're going to walk away from the treadmill. Right, right, right. Walk out with slides, pigeon toes, point guard walk, you know what I'm saying? That's what I'm on. You're fucking me. Still a point guard, bitch. I might have hocus on,
Starting point is 00:17:28 but I'm still a point guard with you. Fuck you mean. All right. Let's talk about the lie of the week. Usually if we're talking about a Los Angeles Laker who's telling the lie of the week, we're talking about LeBron James. But there's no question that this week's lie of the week was by Anthony Davis, who when asked about his atrocious body language, while LeBron James was setting the NBA's all-time scoring record, AD said he was too locked into the game and worried about beating the thunder. Your reaction. You ain't looked like it, motherfucker like? You was not playing like it. I mean, that's the worst fucking lie I ever heard, dog.
Starting point is 00:18:07 I mean, it was some weird shit going on. Maybe the weird shit isn't for us to know. Maybe it's some personal shit. But I'm not buying. You just got lost in the fucking competitive nature of the fucking, you know, Oklahoma City Thunder game. When you saw the whole fucking ebbs and flows in the crowd, every time Brian touched it, there was a collective gas, you know.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Nah, I'm not buying it. I mean, he's not telling us whatever the real reason. Like I said, maybe some shit we don't need. need to know we're not supposed to know so but that lie ain't it though like I said I tweeted it too worst lie I'd ever heard in my life literally the worst lie bro the I mean it's we saw the image everybody's seeing the image of everybody else celebrating and him sitting down like what do you think everybody was selling there was a fucking countdown going on and I told y'all rather knew when he scored this shit she wasn't watching the fucking game you know what I'm saying she knew it was
Starting point is 00:18:57 time to pop the fucking bottle nigga you know what I'm saying it's such a crazy lie Her hoop IQ is a couple steps over Anthony Davis, though. Right. You know, in fairness to rock. And the point, yeah. And the point that Tyler made too, I said, tweeted that like, bro, you look like you couldn't have cared fucking less about that fucking game. And all of a sudden, you are so caught up that you just ignored the fact that somebody did something that everybody thought was impossible fucking 10, 15 years ago. It's crazy, bro.
Starting point is 00:19:28 I just wish she leaned in. Like, bro, just say like, you know what I mean? Say some weird shit, nigga. You know what I'm saying? What is not known doesn't need to be known or some shit. You know what I mean? Those who know won't tell and those who won't tell don't know. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:19:45 Like, do some shit like that. Get weary with it, nigga. Golly. If you read what you see, you see what you read. You know, just like throw some random words together. Or hit them with them. You know what I'm saying? Get real weird and walk off, nigga.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Leave everybody confused. Fuck us, all right? But don't lie to me. Like to that extent where it's like, bro, you just, come on, man. None of us, nobody's that fucking stupid to believe that's true. And I don't know if he was mad. I don't think he was mad at Brown or frustrated with Brian, like other people were saying. But that was a lie.
Starting point is 00:20:20 You know what I'm saying? That was definitely a lie. You probably would have broke 20 points if you cared about beating the thunder more than you cared about anything else in the world. And to Tyler's point, absolutely, maybe some growing on his personal life. I know there was the weird thing that happened with Russ in that game. And, you know, he doesn't want to publicly put his name on talking shit on Russ right after he's straight. I get all that.
Starting point is 00:20:39 But like you said, be mysterious. I don't even get being mad at Russ enough to just be stank when the nigger gets to, you know, breaks the record. You know, dude, there's an image of literally every person in the, like, the arena. Like, there was, like, people were saying there was a countdown in the arena, bro. You know what I'm saying? there's no way you didn't know everybody's celebrating and you sitting there like with the shit face
Starting point is 00:21:06 nigga you know what I'm saying just I you want to he didn't even look mad he looked like you know what I'm saying just unconcerned with what was going on around him right you feel me just indifferent and that's I think that's worst and it's just weird just weird I totally agree I've done no research on this
Starting point is 00:21:26 I've just been headline watching which is probably the correct way to talk about this Are we currently being invaded by aliens? We don't want all those unidentified shit over like Montana and all that shit. Yeah, it's been like a rash of them. China said they were tracking one to shoot it down today. Canada shot one down today. No one has said what they are.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Everyone's trying to recover them. They've said that they don't look to be manned at all. And they didn't see. And that it was different from whatever the weather, the surveillance balloon, China has said. They said there didn't appear to be that kind of. equipment on it. But yeah, man, we've got fire planes taken off and shooting down literally unidentified flying objects on multiple continents on planet Earth right now. Maybe by the time you're listening to this, the planet doesn't exist. Don't say this. Well, but I just, but like,
Starting point is 00:22:19 what's going on, bro? Like, what the fuck is up? Like, we got Norrat involved. Are they telling us what's in those motherfuckers when they shoot them down? Like, just. We got to be got to yet, bro. I think you got to probably be classified. They're there. They said, Tyler, they said, they said, after each one they shot down, they're like, we're retrieving it to study what it is. So we'll know about what was actually in it like 10 years from now. Maybe. Or maybe people won't hear the podcast. I don't like, who knows, bro?
Starting point is 00:22:46 Maybe we're going to look up and see the fucking independent stateship in L.A. I don't know. Relax. Relax. How are y'all? I'd rather be in Richmond right now than Southern California. I'll tell you that, Tyler. Yeah, the big cities get hurt, dog.
Starting point is 00:22:58 Fuck you got to maybe scoot a little further away from D.C. right now though dog i don't know how are y'all reacting to that though like what what what character you're all in the movie in the alien movie you know i mean i don't think any of us are like you know we come in peace i don't think any of us are that guy right we're not right up under the fucking fucking aircraft like trying to you know fuck say that you know hey we're we're cool with you being here deed you know i mean come take our planet dude welcome to my planet it, bro.
Starting point is 00:23:33 You like this? You like Agua? You like Agua, dude? No, I don't think where. Did you bring your kids, bro? You want to have a play date at my house? Dee. Have you met some?
Starting point is 00:23:45 You know what I'm saying? Somia's all, hi, hi! You know what I'm saying? No, that ain't us. But I don't know what character am. I think I run to, I think I go to like the country, bro. I think I go to a desolate area. I think that's the guy I am, bro.
Starting point is 00:24:00 You feel me? The live off the land, dude. I think I am. I think that's me. Can you live off the land? Can you live off the land? I think I got it in me. I think I've got enough to, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:15 you know, like, you'll figure out what I don't know, you know what I'm saying? I've had venison before, dude. It's a good as fuck, girl. Vinison good as a motherfucker dog. Could you live off the land without Wikipedia and YouTube? You can fish. You fish, don't you? Didn't you say you ought to fish?
Starting point is 00:24:35 I can fish. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can fish. I can fish for self. It's the hunting thing would whoop my ass, though. You know what I mean? I can shoot a gun, too. You know what I mean? I think we all can shoot a gun.
Starting point is 00:24:46 I mean, I can shoot it. Yeah. You want me to hit something in particular? I'm not going to, I think I could hit the animal. I don't think I'll hit the part of the animal I'm supposed to hit. You know what I'm saying? I'm not going to hit the back thigh I might hit the part that fucks up the food
Starting point is 00:25:02 You know what I'm saying? That would be a funny apocalypse movie Like comedy thing though It's like someone shot themselves Some food to eat but they shot it like 14 times Right right Any of it Good good good good
Starting point is 00:25:14 Without the chopper for the fucking Tyler who's your alien apocalypse character I like that question John Yeah that's a good one I would probably be the The fucking Negative ass old grumpy man who's awesome
Starting point is 00:25:30 stay on my ground shit like I'm not going nowhere I didn't leave this house for 40 years when they tried to buy it from it after my grandmama died and I ain't running from no damn aliens either I'd be one of them motherfuckers
Starting point is 00:25:45 and I would get fucked up I'd get fucked up by going up against a bunch of aliens with like laser vaporizers with my little six shooter but you know be like some blazer glory shit you'd be like the IRS didn't take me out of this house the aliens aren't going too high You had a 40, don't you?
Starting point is 00:26:00 Yes, yes, I did. You're going to take a couple of the motherfuckers out. Yeah, yeah. But my character wouldn't, though. My character would be a little, you know, 38 revolver motherfucker. Like, what you're going to do that little ass shit? You go to somebody's chest up in real life, though. Fuck you.
Starting point is 00:26:15 Oh, you know what I mean? Yeah. I'd be the scientist that tries to help but gets himself killed quickly. You know what I mean? Like, I've got the algorithm that's going to do this. But then they'd be like, you're the only person who can put it in the spaceship. dude and I'd be like but I've got to say goodbye to my daughter bro and then I'd fucking you know the plane would blow up on the way up there or whatever
Starting point is 00:26:34 and it'd be like oh no now it's the third act like now we gotta start the third act of the movie damn dick it okay I've watched the third episode of uh lost was it Las of Us yes okay so it was while watching it was Rother you know what I'm saying she was like watching the you saw they were at dinner and There was a particular time there at dinner, and he was, like, acting a particular way. And rather, I said, I said, I said, he's kind of an ogre, but, you know what I'm saying? She was like, she was like, he reminds me you.
Starting point is 00:27:08 I was like, I'm kind of an ogre too, but I've accepted it. So, you know, he, during the apocalypse, he decided to live off the land. So I guess there's something similar, you know what I mean, there. But, yeah, she was, I was like, he's kind of an ogre. She was like, That's you when we have company, my niggins. You got him an ogre, too. I'm like, I have it, but I accepted it.
Starting point is 00:27:36 So I guess that's my character for some. We need Langston or someone to tap in with us, though. I kind of want to do the Apocalypse show. Let's write a pilot. The apocalypse show where people, like, go to live in the country, but they get there and they, like, have no idea how to do anything. And then it's just a sitcom and a cabin with, like, 4.30-somethings who don't know what the fuck they're doing.
Starting point is 00:27:55 Figuring shit out. You know what I mean? Like, it's like a running joke that they might eat one of each other. You know what I mean? Somebody's going to get eight, though. That's a mid-season for a cliffhanger. Right, right, right. They're talking about how surprisingly delicious human meat is.
Starting point is 00:28:15 You know what I mean? Dude, we're talking about Dave, dude. Dave was kind of delicious, man. Dude, it's Dave, man. respect them. I think that's what we're going. Respect Dave's sacrifice, bro.
Starting point is 00:28:33 REP, Dave. Why you're eating a Dave sandwich? All right. Did y'all hear about the room that's so quiet it would drive you crazy? Yes. What's the long since that someone lasts in that shit? Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:50 You know what happened? This is a Smithsonian article. This is actually from like a decade ago, but it's continued to be. a thing. The quietest place on earth is an anechoic chamber at Orfield Laboratories in Minnesota. It's so quiet that the longest anyone has been able to bear it is 45 minutes. It's so quiet that the background noise is measured is actually negative decibels. Negative 9.4 decibels. How could it be negative? Because it like, it's built acoustically so that it like soaks up sound. But listen to this.
Starting point is 00:29:26 The founder, Stephen Orfield, said, We challenge people to sit in the chamber in the dark. One person stayed in there for 45 minutes. When it's quiet, your ears adapt. The quieter the room, the more things you hear. You can hear your heart beating. Sometimes you can hear your lungs, hear your stomach gurgling loudly.
Starting point is 00:29:45 In the anechoic chamber, you become the sound. They've used it to train astronauts for how quiet it is in space. but they found that like people if they're trying to walk you use your ears in all kinds of ways to orient yourselves and so people would just fall over people who are standing there would just fall over that's how disorienting it is and well I have to tell you this really fucked me up
Starting point is 00:30:09 because I don't think about my ears that much I don't know my ears were that important I knew they're important for hearing but I didn't know it was like important for like balance in a sense that you can't walk if you can't hear your ear like your feet tapping You know what I mean? It's like some ear canal shit
Starting point is 00:30:26 kind of plays into like your nervous system and balances you. Because like that's how you know if your dog probably has an ear infection because they're probably just like falling over and shit. Yeah, yeah. Or your kid probably too. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:38 That's crazy, man. I did not know it was that important. Tyler, how long could you be in the air chamber for? 45 minutes sounds like a fucking eternity and some shit like that ain't a way I have to 45 minutes. I'd probably give you about three minutes. Two minutes, maybe. I think when I start hearing my lungs, it's over with, bro.
Starting point is 00:30:58 Like, when I start hearing my body, the things that your brain almost shuts off because it's so weird. You know what I'm saying? Like, it's uncomfortable to hear these things. Like, hearing my heartbeat and my lungs moving. Oh, bro, no, uh-uh. I went out of that. It's fucking mean. I had a real fear when I was a little kid that if I thought about my heart beating too much,
Starting point is 00:31:19 that it would stop beating. Did you ever have that? That if I, like, thought about it, it would be like, Like, because if you're aware that it's beating. I think you're the only person that's ever had that. But for whatever reason, that doesn't seem weird to me. Yeah. You could be the only person that's had that fear, but it's not a weird.
Starting point is 00:31:35 I used to, I like put my head fear. I put my hand on my chest and then like when I feel my heartbeat a couple of times, it was like I'd been electric. I was like, I can't like, because if you're like, you notice it not beating, you know what I mean? I don't know. It used to really fuck me up when I was like a preschooler. One of my first conscious memories. It's just in the nat room feeling my heartbeat And then getting really freaked out
Starting point is 00:32:00 And feeling like I needed to go outside and run around Yeah At what age? I don't know pre-school I was in preschool I don't know what age though Dude you're Maya's dad like a motherfucker dog That is so ahead of your time Maybe
Starting point is 00:32:13 Like I mean I doesn't feel like a good thing I know no but what preschooler is feeling their heartbeat And being you know Like that aware of them being, themselves being a human is crazy. We had a teacher who let us feel her pulse on her wrist in the playground. And I remember thinking, holy fucking shit,
Starting point is 00:32:32 not those words, I'm sure. Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever the equivalent color is that you're thinking. What if we felt it stop beating while we're just standing there?
Starting point is 00:32:44 And then your brain just went crazy after that. Right. Okay, that makes sense. That makes sense. All right. You know, we always like to stay on top of our dating topics here at Jenkins & Jones. podcasters.
Starting point is 00:34:23 Got to stay on top of our dating topic. I want to read this tweet from, he is pure hell. He is pure hell. I know some shenanigans are about to be afoot already. Ladies, if a man invited. Oh,
Starting point is 00:34:38 this one. Ladies, if a man invites you over for a nap and shower date, are you going? He's not made any sexual passes that you or even tried you previously. He just wants to. bond honestly and genuinely.
Starting point is 00:34:56 Tyler, if your best friend told you, hey, this guy invited me over for a nap and shower date because he wanted to bond honestly and genuinely. What would your response be? I mean, look, for all being for me to judge and two consent to the Delsa side to do that shit, you know, good bull power to them. But I just do not see that shit having to
Starting point is 00:35:22 accessory rate, especially with a chick, because the way it sounds like you're just trying to get to know a chick, right? Like, this is how we're going to bond non-sexually but naked, my dick on your leg. You know what I mean? Like, I don't know if it's either creepy or this motherfucker is really trying to like romanticize being broke as fuck and not having any other options because goddamn, dick, you know, a little steak that ain't going to hold you. It's going to send you back for so much, dog.
Starting point is 00:35:48 They got credit cards, bro. And they got credit cards, bro. I don't, I think if my friend, like this is in college, right? If I'm in college, because this nigger had to be that age, right? You can't be like 28 talking about nap and shower dates. You know what I mean? You got to be, that's some nigger. That's some shit I might think about when I had that $5 for a week.
Starting point is 00:36:14 You know what I'm saying? Trying to make that stretch in college. So I'm assuming he's that level of broke. But like, dog, I feel like if my income. college, if a friend succeeded in getting a nap and shower date, he'd be legendary to me. Like, nigga, teach me your ways.
Starting point is 00:36:30 I just want to be, you know what I'm saying? Be able to talk. Just to get butt naked to first date on some, like, let's just, bro, that would be legendary. You, like, how did you get that to work? You know what I mean? It seems absolutely impossible. There's, he made,
Starting point is 00:36:46 there's no way that anybody's ever fucking done that. But I'm thinking you had to be college level broke to come up with that idea. You know what I mean? The ingenuity there. The ingenuity for show, bro. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:36:59 It feels like the first time you play blackjack and like they put an ace down on the table and you slide all of your 50 cent chips in or whatever. You're just like, fuck yes. Like you convinced a girl to come over for a nap date and you were like, what if I throw a shower in there too? Somebody said that shit was a boneless. spa date. But also, I'm wondering like, bro, you're naked in the shower.
Starting point is 00:37:32 You know, like, eh. If somebody's willing to go there, you know what I mean? It's quite not going to happen. You know what I'm saying? Have you ever been butt naked in a shower with a woman? You know what I'm saying? You know, like without like some. Well, I, you know, I have.
Starting point is 00:37:54 but in fairness, in full disclosure, I was not trying to bond genuinely and honestly in that moment. So I kid, this is maybe different motivations. I don't know. I can't speak to it. I can't speak to those motivations.
Starting point is 00:38:09 I just, bro, I can't imagine being, like, I just can't imagine being the shower ass naked. At the age, I'd have to be to be that broke. And not,
Starting point is 00:38:19 my dick not actually bowed a burst. You know what I'm saying? Like explode, nigga. Like, dog, it just doesn't seem like it's going to work, man. None of this makes any sense, though. Crazy. I apologize for not giving the full context of this tweet, but after the sentence,
Starting point is 00:38:37 he just wants to bond honestly and genuinely there is an ellipses. I mean, sex is an honest, genuine bond. And that's what would be happening in that fucking shower. Are you kidding me? That's crazy. All right. Yeah, that's weird.
Starting point is 00:38:57 It's just some. How did somebody come up with this, bro? And he deleted it. And he should have. He should have, bro. The brokeest collection of people in the world who are able to communicate with each other, aka Twitter.com, decided that this man
Starting point is 00:39:13 was too broke for the tribe and exiled him beyond the campfire to the wilderness alone at one o'clock in the morning to the mountain lions. Okay. The Heroes, this is our last topic for the day, and I've been looking forward to this for half a week. The Heroes at the Auburn Black Student Union have compiled a Google Doc of white racial slurs that they came up with to try and level the playing field a little bit. We've talked about this. It's an on-level playing field, but maybe we could move.
Starting point is 00:39:55 closer towards harmony and world peace. If it wasn't an unlevel playing field, that was the feeling of the black student union members at Auburn University. Through incredible investigative journalism, we have obtained the Google Doc of... The Google Doc is titled Cracker Names is the name of the Google Doc. Who snitched?
Starting point is 00:40:16 What bitch-ass niggas snitched, though? Yeah. You know he's a jackal date. That's the person. You know... I Take your Fins off
Starting point is 00:40:30 Let me see your ears One of you's got jackal ears Under those ass Somebody Somebody got them dog Hiding their hooves
Starting point is 00:40:42 Under their fucking Boot cut jeans nigger Show me your hoobs You jackal you Somebody somebody
Starting point is 00:40:53 somebody I actually had a theory that this was an intentional, an intentional leak to try and get the, to try and get them out, to try and get the, the, the names out there. They're too good to hide. Somebody was like, yo, this has to be. No, but I think that, but I do think someone, I mean, it's basically the reverse Jason Whitlock, which is specifically what this group of people was trying to do was like, let's flip things in the other direction. They, this is the quote tweet economy. They, someone leaked this shit to some conservative web, website that then spread
Starting point is 00:41:27 the shit all over the internet because they were outraged by it and now we on a nationally known sports podcast are going to read several of these names. You know what I mean? I will say this in defense of the people that created the list. When I
Starting point is 00:41:43 moved to Alabama you had to choose between Alabama and Auburn. Both very racist locations. You know what I'm saying? Very racist schools, shit like that. Whatever. Anyway. And the reason I was because in my sophomore year in high school, which was the second year I was in Alabama, they had a like blackface party where everybody pulled up to the party in blackface in like, what,
Starting point is 00:42:09 99 I think it was, thinking. So. And every single one of them ran for office. Bro. So I understand completely why they came up with this list, those people in office. So yeah, that makes sense to me. But let's, let's hear some of these names though. This list is seven pages single spaced. Oh, God damn. Beautiful. Bro,
Starting point is 00:42:29 respect the effort, nigger. We got to find our nigger version for white people, dog, and it's going to take this type of effort
Starting point is 00:42:37 to find that one hit or quitter with their ass. You know what I'm saying? Science takes research. You know what I mean? Bro, I respect the effort,
Starting point is 00:42:46 for sure. Vanilla vulture. That's good. That's moon cricket good. That's moon cricket good, for sure. Cricket.
Starting point is 00:42:57 Milk cricket. No, I've never heard that. That's great. That is great. I mean, that's kind of a play on moon cricket, I guess. You know, that's their version. That milk cricket is. Moon cricket still got milk cricket, though, for sure.
Starting point is 00:43:12 I actually haven't read through this. I hope the home girl Christina's snow roaches is on here. She's used some of what snow roach got to be in there. Snowroats got in there. Bleach demons. Oh, that's, I can't say that. Can you spell it? Text it to us.
Starting point is 00:43:37 The one I was going to not say is yeast maggots, which is that actually hit me in the chest a little bit. That's like that kind of makes me feel like the C word. You know what I mean? Yeah. That feels like a white slur made by a white racist. Right, right, right, right, right. They would have been a little too far, man. We don't say maggots, bro.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Like that ain't, we don't use that word, dog. Bro, yeah, they would have little. Damn. Real it in American History X. Yeah. Die damn. Chalk child. Chalk child.
Starting point is 00:44:14 Brought the children into the road. Yeah. Go ahead. Blue cheese demon. That's great. I think that's great. Flower bags. Flower bags.
Starting point is 00:44:29 actually really sounds like a racial slur. This fucking flower bag over here. That was that was yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:44:45 Ranch raccoon. Oh, that's great. That's a hitter, bro. Mayo monkeys, obviously, you know,
Starting point is 00:44:57 you have to do it. Have to. Yeah, you know, You know, Zach was called A Mayo Monkey He was called a male monkey. I remember he told me.
Starting point is 00:45:06 Did I say that? No, someone clip that out. Someone clip that out from that episode. Someone please respond to the pod link with the fucking with Zach's because he said. laughs when he tells this story. Well,
Starting point is 00:45:23 there was when he told it, when he told it on the pod, there was like a half beat of silence and then the loudest laughter ever captured on microphone. Oh, Jesus right. Snowblenders. Nah, that's not that.
Starting point is 00:45:43 It's all right. Mid, mid. Yeah. They got to go harder, man. The top half was really good. They started to get, you know, they started to run out of shit, it seems like. You can kind of feel they lose momentum and then at the end it, it comes back again.
Starting point is 00:46:00 Plaster people. mole rats, albinar rats. Plaster people sounds like Plaster people is like something you'd call white people after the zombie apocalypse. You know what I mean? Does that make sense? Like the plaster people are coming.
Starting point is 00:46:18 You know what I mean? The unwashed. That's just sort of a... That's lazy. That's so lazy. God, these things, they let me down a little bit. Hold on, hold on. Hold on. They're going to bring it back.
Starting point is 00:46:31 I know that the last... I know that the last... I read the first page and the last page to make sure that they were funny. Run the last page. Let's run the last page. All right. Let me get over to it. Um,
Starting point is 00:46:43 Crystles. Very nasty, but I'm down. I love some real such shit. Come Crizzles. Did I already do Beach, did I already do Bleach Bandit? Did they put that on here twice?
Starting point is 00:46:59 No, that's fun. Bleach Bandit is fun. Yeah, yeah. And we do have a snow roach on here. Okay, good. Good for them. And the last one, the last one, the vanilla villains. That's too cool.
Starting point is 00:47:14 That's cute. That's cute. That's cute. Vanilla villains. Bro. You could call your white friend of vanilla villain and y'all will yuck it up together. You know what I mean? Bro.
Starting point is 00:47:22 The one that hopped out the Google Doc for me was that motherfucking sour cream salamanders. My heart skipped a beat when I read that. I was like, this is poetry. I was like, wow. Tyler would buy the hat. Hey, that does sound like a dope-ass model league. That sounds like a dope-ass Nuerre fitted for so. All right.
Starting point is 00:47:44 Thank you, Black Student Union at Auburn University. That is all the time we have on Jenkins and Jones. For today's episode, we'll be back on Thursday, live on AMP, and then on all the other platforms after that. Thanks to everyone for listening. Bye. Bye. Bye.
