We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.

We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.

But, you know, tired and sick.

Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the ice.

You just understood.
That's how personal it got.
Wow.

You know, it's all love.
This was just playoffs.
This was just basketball.

The Volume.
All right, guys, so you know every time we're at a UFC pay-per-view, it's time for my performance playbook presented by Roe.
I'm your boy, D.C., an official Roe partner as we look at what Marab and Sean need to do in order to get a victory this weekend at UFC 316.
Hey, it's all about performing in the octagon and performing inside the bedroom.
It only takes 15 minutes for them to work, so Rose Sparks has got you back.
Hey, if Sean O'Malley's to become champion again, you guys all know.
He has got to defend takedown.
There is no point in the fight where he can be comfortable on his back or relax on the idea
that Marab is going to try to take him down.
It's a very simple fight.
It's striker versus grappler.
Marab being the grappler, has to.
impose himself on Sean O'Malley.
But Rob needs to take him down, and if he can't take him down, he needs to be pressing him
against the octagon side, really limiting O'Malley's opportunities to get his punches off
on him.
Hey, this is a big time fight.
Both of these guys are better today than they were in the first meeting.
I cannot wait for them to look better and feel better inside the octagon.
And with Rose Sparks, you can feel better inside the bedroom.
Guys, go to RO.CO slash DCTV for $15 off of your first purchase when you hook up with my people at Rose Sparks.
Go get it done.
You will not regret it.
Thank you for checking it on me.
Of course.
I appreciate it.
Guys, I'm with the machine.
Marab de Wallis, really.
Marab, another championship fight.
You and Sean O'Malley for the second time.
After you beat Umar, did you know it would be Sean O'Malley?
After a bit, Umar, I wanted to be busy and, yeah, Shono Malo was another option, maybe after Peter Yan.
And, yeah, I was thinking maybe either Peter Yan or either Shono Marley and the UFC, tell me to it's Shono Mali.
Peter Yen was supposed to fight somebody else.
And yeah, I'm happy.
I'm happy I have another fight coming up.
Even I already fought him.
It's a new fight, new challenge for me.
And, you know, he, of course, he wants to avenge his loss back, and he will fix his mistake.
He's been working to get better every level, even striking, wrestling, grappling,
and it's going to be another challenge for us.
Hey, I had a kid going to your gym, and you knocked them down, bro.
Why?
You punched a guy's stomach.
Who?
I watched a video.
One of my guys, one of my wrestling guys goes into your gym.
Nice enough to give you rounds, and you punches the...
Why did you do this?
Why did you do this to him, Rob?
We was just fine.
But you killed it?
Why are you killing me?
No, like my body shot got better and I was testing, you know?
So you tested on him?
Yeah, I guess, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
I saw the video, man.
Yeah?
Oh, yeah.
So, yeah.
So maybe like you need to answer to me now.
No, no, no.
You test run.
Let's talk about your last.
fight a little bit before we go forward.
First two rounds,
Umar's fighting great.
Yes.
Right?
He's fighting really good.
Seems like he won the first two rounds.
Are you aware that it's not going as,
as well as you wanted?
And what was the thought?
Because in that third round,
you kind of,
you changed completely, right?
You were most successful in takedowns.
The pressure was even higher.
Like, what did you make of that performance?
For me, even first two round was a close round.
It was close.
Yeah, I don't know.
which way was going to go, but I was positive. And like we, we know, you know, like, my
coaches now told me to, like, after the first rounds, it would be just keep doing your thing,
it would be easy. And I was just keep doing my thing. And then he literally slowly, you know,
he was, slowly a little bit breaking, and he was himself, and I was even, as rounds goes
more on, I'm getting better. Better. Yes. And then I think I show, show, show,
everybody this time.
And yeah, I think one time I got him good body punch too,
but I see his face change and then I was gonna go after,
but he shoot me and he still, even he was tired,
he was still moving and doing okay.
How much can you apply from, how much can you take
from that fight and apply to this fight, right?
Because you have a more motivated Sean O'Malley,
but Umar is a high level.
level striker, Sean Amali's high level striker.
Sean Amali doesn't have the wrestling
that Umar has. How much can
can you take from that fight and apply it to
this one to make sure that
you not only beat Sean Amali, but you
beat him in a more impressive way?
I thought you won five
or four rounds in the
first fight. How do you do it better?
I'm not sure what I can take from the
Umar's fight to this fight, but
yeah, I get
more comfortable.
like just more competence to I can fight any any any any style of the fighter again
and then nobody can do shit and yeah and so but O'Mali fight it's a new
challenge like I said you know he I'm sure you've been he's been working to stop me
and I believe I'm a better fighter than him but
I still have to respect his power, his reach, his speed.
And it's a new fight, new challenge, you know.
Not every fight goes the same way.
You know, you had rematches before.
Me, many.
Yeah, and it can play out.
This fight is different, this fight, different.
And that's why I'm trying to take this fight serious,
and it's a new challenge for me.
It's a new fight, and I'm looking forward to it.
I think I fought 15 times in the UFC.
Seven were against three people.
Wow.
I fought the same guys over and over and over again.
Yeah, it's fucked up, man.
It's a new fight, right?
Yeah, it was like, but it was always the same guys.
Like, rematch, rematch, trilogy match, like always the same.
Marab, what's worrisome though?
If you're a fan of Marab Du Wallace Willie,
I saw a quote the other day that you said,
the motivation is not as easily gained to fight O'Malley again.
Why is that?
And how do you make sure that you're motivated to fight a guy
that is motivated to fight you.
Yeah, so like when I fight first time new opponent,
it's easy to be motivated because you have a new challenge,
you never fought him, and in your eyes you respect him so much,
and it's a new challenge and you more white look his dangerous skills,
but when you already beat him, it's not easy to like treat him as a,
Dangerous.
But see, that's dangerous in that thought, though, no more out.
That's not dangerous thought.
Like, I know I can beat him.
But you just said it's a new challenge.
So if you're not motivated to go fight a guy that you,
you know what I'm saying?
Like, it's dangerous.
I agree.
That's why I'm like, I'm putting extra, extra motivate myself to know this guy is dangerous,
this guy hits hard, and this guy will change stuff.
And then that's why I motivate myself all this time.
And yeah, so like, yeah, like I said, beginning, it was hard to motivate myself.
Yeah.
I already beat him because, but I have enough, enough motivation to be motivated, be
focused, and I realize all the danger.
And now I done training camp, everything what I was supposed to do.
You know, I prepare very good.
And, you know, then this fight, I'm going to look for finish him and I'm looking for giving him more damage.
What's up, guys?

Hey, it's us, the Jonas Brothers, and guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
We're starting a trend.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
And, well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis, and I know firsthand because I competed
there myself. I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs Tennis podcast, I'm breaking down
everything happening at Roland Garris, every match, every upset, and what it really takes
to win on clay.
Jen she went.
I mean, she went down in three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted.
She's an outsider to win the French, me.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lennar Rabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now.
And I actually can win on any surface.
Because if she's serving, well, good luck.
Consider this your court side seat to the French Open.

But Rob, were you surprised at anything
in the first fight with Sean Ovali?
Because like you said, you make him into a monster
like this guy hits hard and he's fast
and it's reach.
And then you beat him in the way that you did.
Were you surprised at anything in there?
I was surprised, yes, like how easy I was winning this fight.
And I was surprised how this guy beat my friend Al Jemai Stanley.
And I also watched the fight, and I can hear your commentate too.
Like, he was also surprised, too, like how easy was able to do.
You were taking him down easier than I thought.
Yes.
But he said he was hurt in that fight.
It's bullshit.
It's bullshit.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Said he had surgery after that, Rob?
No, listen, I did two times after the fight surgery, but I still win the fight, you know?
Yeah.
But you know, we all have some problems in fight or some old injuries, something like that.
But if really something serious, we never, we're not, we not fight.
But if something-
If you're, especially as the champion.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
You know, if it's, if you're able to training, if you're able to fight, and then it doesn't
mean that it's serious.
But if it's seriously, you do surgery.
And then if something you can do surgery later,
this, you know.
So, no, yeah, that's how I was surprised,
but like what I said earlier,
so, you know, he has a knuckle power
and then he can, everybody can get knocked down.
Did he crack you in the fifth round?
Not cry, I'm not gonna say, crack me,
but he let me feel his, like,
first time I felt his party kick and then,
And if he landed me like two more clean like this, then maybe it can be a problem, you know?
That's why like when he got me with a body kick, I'm like, fuck.
Like I was just two minutes every I was holding him down.
But because of the referee told me, move, do something.
I let him get up.
I should, I should not let him go.
You can't listen to the referee, Marat.
I mean, I, I know, I know.
How are you not going to listen to referee?
Because what's you going to do?
The worst he can do is pick you up, you don't let him go.
Thank you.
So that's good advice.
I used to tell me this.
He's always.
So what happened was I take him down in a foot round.
I was punching.
And apparently told me, fighters, move, do something.
And I changed the position.
I let him come a little bit up.
And I was punching.
And he told me something.
And I let go.
What should I do?
You go, fuck him.
Just like, punch him and look at the rope.
Fuck you.
And you're all like, let him go.
Why?
Like, you let him go.
Yeah, exactly.
You helped me to take him down.
Right?
Yeah, exactly.
So after I was chasing to take him down,
and he was defending, like he was pulling up legs.
And it was hard to take him down if you turned after,
like, after, referee let me go.
And then the body kick comes, and then I'm like,
I should try to finish him earlier.
Like, why I play with him?
I was mad about myself.
And yeah, that's how I play.
And so, yeah, I said he let me faulted body kick.
And after I was, yeah, so just I was mad about myself
why I should finish him.
Morab, two questions before we're done.
One is about Sean O'Malley.
He's made some changes, right?
One of the biggest things that I took,
I went to your house after that fight,
and you were running on Monday.
And that to me was like, wow, this guy thinks different.
Most of us go on a victory tour.
We rest, we drink, the alcohol, you know, we hang out.
You were running, getting ready.
He said that because he knows now he's preparing for a different person.
Now, he doesn't smoke.
He doesn't travel.
He's eliminated so many things in his life.
How much can he change?
And how much do you expect him to be different?
inside the octagon, right?
Because now he's eliminated a lot of the things
that can be seen as distractions, right?
Party and going out, doing all this stuff.
Now he's not doing that because of you.
Because he knows he has to be better to be you.
Yes.
This all stuff will help him for sure.
But does it make much of a difference when it's a change
opposed to it being just your life?
It's what you live every day.
You've never strayed from that.
Yeah, you're right.
You know, you have to balance your life in a little bit.
You cannot be like, I don't know.
Let's see.
I mean, if he enjoys now this different lifestyle,
and maybe that shows how much he wants to just win,
and maybe it was distraction, who knows?
I'm sure it's going to affect him, like, good ways.
And it's going to help, like, focus, and be mentally more ready,
I think.
And, yeah.
And I think even if he lost again, he will tell him himself, hey, I try my best.
I think that's how I look.
But my job is to expect him in the best way, best, you know.
Marab, you spent 25 minutes with this man.
Yes.
Can this man present a problem for you inside an octagonal?
Do you feel like you just can beat Sean O'Malley?
I think I can beat him, but now I give him too much respect, like I'm fighting first time.
and that's my job to don't look him easy.
And, but yeah, of course, he has a knuckle power.
He's very smart, he's speed.
I cannot relax or make any mistake with him, you know.
Marab, you've been living life, having fun.
Yes.
Became the champ, travel.
You've had some great moments.
Can I tell you my favorite Marab one?
Yes, for sure.
Paris.
Paris?
Oh, like that.
You mentioned some interview this, right?
Yeah, this is the interview I said.
I said, this is a rapper, Rob.
Why you, why you ask, can I touch this?
Yeah.
I see, you know, you know, it's, I don't know how.
So yeah, she all the time, I...
She all the time, twerk.
Yeah, talk and, yeah, so I said,
I guess I was able to slap her ass to her.
Can I touch this?
This is the greatest thing.
Because all men think this, right?
I know you're married, but...
Yeah, all men think this?
If you're not married...
BOW!
BOW!
Yeah!
Can I touch that?
Can I touch that?
Aby, come on, man.
