Mitchell, Mitchell, it's, you know, I see better than I hear her at this point in time. I think it's going to be a really good game. I think the Detroit Lions have an incredible offensive line. Obviously, we talked about Ragnow is banged up, but Seattle's defensive line is really banged up. Now, they're really deep. They're really deep. They got interchangeable pieces, but two,

huge, huge factors on his defensive line. Leonard Williams and Byron Murphy, the first round picked, maybe they may be without them this week in Detroit. And that's tough. This is probably the one game you talk about when you see on a schedule that you need your big people eaters up front to be available. And it's not looking likely, but I got a feeling Mike McDonald in this brilliant scheme

that he has, both against the run in the past, is going to find up a way to scheme this up and tighten those gaps and make it really difficult for the Detroit Lions to see it. You know, when he was with Baltimore, they gave golf some tough times. I mean, they gave Kyle Shanahan some tough times. Everybody saw that game where Lamar Jackson, the four interceptions for Brock Purdy. So this defense in this scheme can be very disruptive regardless. But if Detroit wants a chance to win this game, they're going to have to run it like they have been.

I mean, they ran it, I think they ran it 16 times with Gibbs. I mean, I think they ran it 40 times overall. And they're going to have to do that consistently this game if they're going to have a chance to win in that defense. That's where it's going to come down to. They're going to have to stop Gino Smith. They're going to have to stop Gino. If they don't stop Gino, Detroit has seen it firsthand.

He can get hot. He can get hot and he can get going. He can. and what a lot of people don't realize about Gino is he's slippery out of the pocket, you know, and those types of quarterbacks always give the Lions trouble. They've been doing better. Their front four has been a little bit more tenacious this year,

especially Aidan Hutchinson. I think it's going to be a really, really good test for both teams. Both teams are banged up. I mean, we're entering week four the season. The injury bar is starting to hit. I mean, Sam Leporta got rolled up on. He's probably going to be a game time decision, I'm sure. Like you said, Frank Ragnon.

Looks like he's week to week for the Lions now. They lost, you know, Derek Barnes for a considerable amount of time. Richard, it's next man up part of the season. And we shall see, like you said, Detroit's got to get to running the ball early and often and take control of this game. What I loved what they did last week. They hopped out. They got 20 points on the board in the first half, but I don't get it, man.

They were unable to score in the second half. You cannot do that against Seattle. Seattle's got a lot to prove still. They're 3 and O. They're one of the hottest teams in the NFL. And you know they're going to come in looking for a win. Monday night football should be fun. But Richard, we saw some double headers in the Monday night landscape last night.

And the Bills, I mean, laid an absolute shalacking to your favorite quarterback in the league, Trevor Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Richard, what in the world happened here? Well, well, first off, first off, bills. mafia has to be ecstatic because going into this game, going into this season, there was some concern. There was some doubt. And I'm sure they'll, they'll say there wasn't. They always, they knew it all along that these receivers and this offense would be just fine, regardless of the situation, regardless of losing Stefan Diggs and Gabe Davis and all the pieces that they

lost. And James Cook has been playing really well. But what Josh Allen is doing right now is Elevating himself into a different stratosphere than he's been in in previous seasons. Because just like Mahomes did when Tyreek Hill left, he answered a lot of questions. Hey, can he do it without Tyreek Hill? Yes. Can he still be an MVP caliber player? Is his level of play going to fall off? It's not.

It's going even higher. And that's what Josh Allen is showing the world. Hey, it's me. It's, hey, everybody eats, B. That's what he said. Paid in full, Mitchell, everybody eats B. And everybody's eating. He's distributing the ball to everybody.

Kionn Coleman is doing it. Khalil Shakur is doing it. You see Dawton Kincaid getting involved a little bit. You're seeing everybody touch the football, and it's really cool to see him have an MVP caliber season showcasing himself. And you're not sitting there saying, hey, Stefan, is having an amazing game.

And man, what would he be without Stefan Diggs? He's answering those questions really clearly with an exclamation point. And you have to give him in the Buffalo Bills this defense who have a lot of young guys playing. Really, really good football. Bond Miller is looking like his old self. Got another sack last night. I think they had four or five sacks in the first half. It's looking like a really formidable team.

And sometimes it's addition by subtraction. And when you're not so focused on getting one guy to football and featuring that one guy and feeding him and making sure he gets his touches, then it opens up the whole offense because the defense can't double him. They can't cloud him. They can't push the coverage towards him. They're spreading it out. And Josh is making phenomenal decisions. He deserves a ton of credit for everything he's been doing. But on the other side, and we have to get through this because Bill's Mafia, I'm giving this team, is.

incredible. This is a Super Bowl contending team. They will be in my power rankings top five and deservedly self. I was wrong. I thought this team would have some growing pains early that they would have to adjust and things, you know, they're still a quality football team. And McDermott is going he's a good coach. They're going to beat competitive. But I did not expect them to come into the season, go undefeated and just be so dominant. They beat, they just beat Jacksonville dominant. They beat Miami dominant. They've looked really good. The only game they didn't look super dominant is against Arizona. And Arizona is one of those wildcard teams that just is giving everybody a tough time. You know, it's one of those weird schemes. And offensively, Kyler Murray is a different kind

of guy. It's unique. But against a team that's, that's, you know, straightforward, you know, normal football team, they're doing a great job. But on the other side, like Trevor Lawrence. Trevor Lawrence. And I know I know, I know Mitchell. They call me a Trevor Lawrence hater. I'm not. I don't hate the guy. He's a good person. I'm sure he's a good person. I judge the football player. And what I was told was a generational talent and people said I'm too hard on him. So I'm trying my best to be objective. Give the guy a fair shot. Give the guy a fair shot. But what I won't accept is people calling him a top 10 or putting him amongst the elites when the tape doesn't say that. Like that's not his fault. He's not telling him where to place him.

But the tape doesn't say that. And the amount of money they paid him, the tape doesn't, it doesn't support him getting paid that amount of money. And let's go through a couple of things because I want to talk about this Jacksonville team. Their defense is not playing well right now. Let's get that straight. They've played really well in years past. I mean, in years past, they've had, I mean, been amongst the league leader,

leaders and takeaways. And that's what's allowed them to have success. When they have runs and they have great success, it's because their defense is creating turnovers and Trevor Lawrence and the offense is capitalized. When the defense does not create a turnover for Trevor Lawrence in this offense, he's 1 and 21. 1 and 21, Mitchell.

So this defense knows if they do not create a turnover, they're not winning the game. And they have no takeaways this season. They're the only defense without no takeaways. that's going to be tough. When you're a $55 million quarterback, that can't be the case. Like when you talk about game manager and system quarterback

and putting all these labels and parameters on guys, but when guys have generational talent, you don't judge him the same. You say he should be doing this. He should. What is he actually doing? And in this case, Trevor Lawrence is not getting it done.

And you heard some things from Doug Peterson. You know, everything is on the table. for us, you know, maybe making changes because something got to change. But I don't think anything's going to change. I don't think anything's, I mean, the Jags are 30th and points per game. They're 30th and third down offense. And every time people find excuses to give Trevor Lawrence, oh, it was somebody else's

fault. What about the false start here? What about the, I don't, when you're talking about a $55 million quarterback, that's why he doesn't get the benefit of doubt. You don't, at 55 million, benefit of the doubt is gone. We're putting it on you. Wins and losses are on your back. Good, bad, or indifferent.

That's what they're paying you for. They're paying you a lot of money. They're not paying anybody else. That kind of money. Top position on money. They're not paying anybody else, that kind of money. So, yes, it's unfair responsibility, but that's what you're getting paid. Your paycheck says, hey, responsibility.

And so when I look at Trevor Lawrence, and then I look at guys like Gardner, Menshoe, and what he was able to do in Jacksonville. And I know Jacksonville and Duval fans, know this very well. He did all right. You look at what James has done in his career. James has done all right.

If you really go down, let me give you some stats, Manchu. You got a second? I do. Fire away. I'm going to give you Gardner Menchew's stats. His wins, his loss is his stats. Gardner Menchew's record is 16 and 24. That's a 40% winning percentage.

40% completed. 63% of his passes, 62 touchdowns, 27 interceptions, a 90.3 quarterback rating, 18 fumbles lost. Okay. Okay, so what is that? 45 turnovers, give or take. Okay, 45 turnovers. I look at, I'm going to look at James Winston, 34 and 46 record, 42% winning percentage. 61% completion percentage, 141 touchdowns, 99 interceptions, 87, passer rating, 24 fumbles lost. So a lot of turnovers for James.

Those two guys are career backups now. They're in and out. Sometimes they start. Gardner, obviously, is they're started for the Raiders right now, but a lot of people don't look at him as a starting caliber quarterback, except the rate, you know, he's doing really good. I think he's a starting caliber quarterback. I think Trevor Lawrence, and we're going to go through Trevor Lawrence record, 20 and 33,

37.7% winning percentage, 63.2 completion percentage, 60 touchdowns, 40 interceptions, 84.5 passer rating, 21 fumbles loss. Now, people are going to call me crazy because he has a different label, because he was labeled a generational talent coming out, because he's handsome, he has the long hair, he looks the part. He's just a name brand Gardner Minchu. He's a Gardner Minchu with a better, with a better outlook, with a better packaging, with better draft position. Like, for what they're getting right now out of Trevor Lawrence,

they could have kept Gardner Minchue and they would have got at least equal level play. Like maybe you're not getting elite play, but you're not getting it from him. And that's where I get frustrated where people argue with me, because it's just what the tape says. Don't argue with me. Argue with the tape. Be mad at him because what he's putting on tape

and you're going to sit there and say, well, the defense didn't do this. The defense didn't do that. Well, Trevor Lawrence has to do. I mean, Gardner Mitchell got to deal with some bad defenses sometimes. He got to deal with some receivers dropping a pass and some false starts. You don't make those excuses for him because certain people you just say, well, I mean, he's a backup.

What do you expect? But when it's your guy, you sit there and say, hey, how can we figure out how to qualify this? I don't see it right now, Mitchell. And I don't see $55 million, and I hate to beat a dead horse. But, like, at some point, you've got to see it. At some point, you're paying a guy $55 million. You have to see something.

You have to be able to elevate your team. You have to elevate the guys around you. And it's not like he doesn't have a talented team. It's not like he doesn't have a good tight-in, pretty good receivers, a good running back in ATN. He has a good coach and Doug Peterson. Now people are ready to call Doug Peterson a bad coach. Doug Peterson won a Super Bowl when Nick Foles,

had Carson Wentz looking like an MVP candidate for a good portion of the season that season. But now, since the quarterback isn't playing well, they're saying, well, Doug Peterson's the problem. Like, how much are you going to do that? Like, you start to see when the conversation is different. It's like, wait, so now the coach is the problem. So then you replace the coach,

and then you give them a few more years to figure it out. And then you say, the next coach is the problem? No. Like, at some point, you have to see what he's projected to be, and he's not showing it. I think the bar of how you assess a good quarterback is how they elevate the players around him.

And he's got playmakers around him. I mean, ETN, Christian Kirk, you know, they just went out and spent big money on Gabe Davis, who was hardly involved in last night's game. Ingram was a pro-ball tight end. Yeah. I mean, Ingram's out, and that was his safety net last year, but you just spent a first-round pick on Brian Thomas. Like, the playmakers are there, right? Who does Josh Allen have to throw to?

Khalil Shakir, the guy called in the offseason, a great game last night. Dalton Kincaid, I mean, finally showed up last night as well. Keon Coleman, their top pick of the draft. Like, Curtis Samuel. I mean, Richard, these are relatively. unknown names and you got a guy playing across from you that is just elevating all of these guys. He's got fantasy owners who are loving life if you had any of the bills players on your team last night because they all went off in that first half.

Trevor Lawrence on the other hand, Richard, I mean, you don't have to watch a whole lot of Jaguars football to realize this team is in a very, very dark place when they're on prime time getting absolutely shelled at half. I mean, come on now. And I'm with you. Trevor Lawrence, the expectation with him two years ago, Jaguars got hot. You know, they're one of the hottest teams in the NFL. I think they had a six-game win streak. And I think everyone got distracted by that win streak and what they saw with Trevor Lawrence in those games. Over the last two years, Richard, you just really haven't seen it and you haven't seen it in clutch moments for sure.

Last night was super eye-opening. And what you're bringing up with James Winston and Gardner Minshu, the question I have for you is what's going to change this because obviously the talent is there with Trevor Lawrence. He wouldn't have been a first overall pick. He wouldn't have led Clemson to a title game if the talent wasn't there. The talent is there. But what gives? What's got to change for him to, you know, turn his career around at this point? Well, Mitchell, it has to be, he has to be consistent. You know, if you're saying it's to play call them, then you've got to find something that works for him. Like, I don't think people are like, well, if you put him in a situation my homes is in, you put them in, I don't think if you put

him in a situation my homes is in, if you put him in Josh Allen, if you swap quarterbacks for Jacksonville and you swap, you put Josh Allen in Jacksonville and you put him with the Buffalo bills, I don't think the Buffalo Bills are the same team. I don't think they're winning all these games. I don't think they're as dominant. I think Jacksonville, Jaguars would be a better team. And so that goes to show you, but they're both 55, 50 plus million dollar quarterbacks. and things aren't created equal. That's why I say this cap system is broke. You guys are letting these quarterbacks hold your hostage.

You got guys like Geno Smith playing incredible football trying to get the Seahawks to pay him what he deserves, and he's not getting it. You got Sam Darnold. Probably going to be looking for some decent money come soon because he's playing like an MVP caliber quarterback right now. But he's making, what, $7 million or so? And you got $55 million dollars getting to skate.

by and I think he, I don't even know if he has 400 yards on the season, he might have, might have a low under 500. It's been three games and they're o' and three. And nobody's really, they're still sitting there saying like, oh, it's everybody else. No, he's part of the problem at this point. Because even if you say the defense is terrible, they gave up 47 points, unacceptable. Okay. It's not like they got beat 37 to 47.

It's not like they got beat 30 to 47. they got beat 47 to 10 and the starting quarterback was on the sideline and Mac Jones was in the game trying to figure it out. That's how bad the game is. You pull a quarterback in the game. You have to start to see that.

The Buffalo bills look really good. The Buffalo bills are a good team. And that's where I'm going to leave. I'm going to leave it at that with this team because I'm very frustrated. Like the quarterback rankings in a way we look at them have to be year to year. You can't be sitting here draft position

or what they did a few years ago, what are they doing right now? In the first three weeks of the season, what have they done? It shouldn't be like, hey, I know he's not playing good at the first three weeks, but I know he's still top five because he did something two years ago. No, no. Well, speaking of another quarterback and team with a lot of pressure on them, let's go to the other game. Cincinnati, they're 0-3, Richard.

I don't think anyone really saw this coming. A lot of folks thought Cincinnati was going to be in that conversation coming out of the AFC this year with a healthy Joe Burrow. You know, they get T. Higgins back. Jamar Chase had a good game last night. But what is the panic meter in Cincinnati right now? There's no, only one team has made the playoffs since 2000 after starting 0 and 3. And that was the 2018 Texans.

What gives with Cincinnati? Did they have any hope of turning this season around after this poorest start? Um, I mean, it's how they've always started, Mitchell, they've always started bad, but it just feels different this time. There's so much discord and distrust. This was Jamar Chase's best game in the season, and it's no surprise that it's when T. Higgins returns to the lineup. I've heard people say that T. Higgins is such a factor that people prepare for that it helps Jamar Chase get open, and it helps him benefit. And that's what good receivers do. I'm sure A.J. Brown helps Devante Adams, Devante Adams. I mean,

Devante Smith helps A.J. Brown. I mean, vice versa. Two good receivers are tough to deal with. But you just got to start to think like this Lou, Lou Anoramo defense is going to have to play better. They've played better down the stretch when they've had success. It's because the defense has really locked up. The secondary has locked up. They put pressure on the quarterback with,

with good pass rush rushing four. It's just not looking to say. The secondary has been tighter than it is. To give up 38 points, it's tough to win that ball game. You know, and you could, you know, I came in here one seat. If I'm going to criticize Joe Burrow, you can't. Joe Burrow played really well. Joe Burrow played really well.

He threw the ball well. He threw for 300 yards. He threw for 324, three touchdowns, no interceptions. They moved the ball. Jamar Chase, six catches, 118. two touchdowns. T. Higgins, this is the first game back. He had three catches for 39 yards,

but they distributed the ball. I think they were fine offensively. But defensively, they got to find a way to be able to stop a rookie quarterback. Now, Jaden Daniels had a heck of a day. Mitchell, he was the reason that they lost his game. He played out of his mind for him to have a 91% completion percentage and really be taking shots.

He took a few shots to Terry McLaren. And one of the few, passes that he missed. Guys were on the internet freaking criticizing him. Like, how does he miss this? Nobody was within 20 meters, I mean, 20 yards of him, yada, yada, yada. But he had a man freaking bearing down on him. Like, you've never been in that position.

You've never been in a position to be staring down, looking at an open receiver, and then see another human being about to do you harm. And then say, oh, you got to be accurate. He stood in there when he had to, when the game was on the line, it was zero coverage, stood in there and delivered a dime to Terry McLaurin to win. in that game. So give the rookie a little credit. Again, let's let's keep the standard of criticism and analysis the same for everybody. If you're going to be this critical about this kid and say, oh, he missed him when he had somebody about to, you know, destroy him, then be that way with

every rookie quarterback because he looks like the best quarterback in the draft this game. You know, it's week to week. Caleb Williams didn't look great. You know, he looked decent at times at the end of the game, but some would say that's garbage time. But right now, Jaden Daniels, with his legs, with his arm, looks the part. I mean, he set the record for completion percentage for a rookie, and it wasn't like he threw it 10 times. They threw it, what, 23, 23 times? That defense looks solid.

I was happy for Dan Quinn, but, well, I can't say solid because they gave up 33 points. And they gave up too many one-on-ones to Jamar Chase. Like, this is one of the best receivers in football. You know, it's between him, Justin Jefferson. There's a few guys in that conversation. But you don't leave him one-on-one unless you got a guy. And unfortunately, Washington doesn't have an elite, elite, you know, worldwide name that's recognized as an elite corner to be saying, hey, we're just going to leave him one-on-one

with Jamar Chase and we'll live with that. No, you don't do that. When you do, he has two touchdowns in 100 yards, and that's what it looked like. But I don't know. I think the panic meter is like a eight for me. I know that Cincinnati Bengals fans in the jungle feel confident. Their team has always recovered from these slow starts. But this one just doesn't feel that way.

It doesn't feel like it's not like Joe's banged up or you're looking at injuries or he's coming back and finding his rhythm. And, you know, he was coming off the calf injury one year and things like that. He didn't get a lot of training camp time. Those things aren't those aren't factors this year. It just doesn't look the same. And while they're not getting better, you got Pittsburgh kind of running away with the division. They're going to Indianapolis.

They could start the season four and oh. And you're one and three. They're so far behind. And that's not even to mention Baltimore. Baltimore, thank goodness, if you're, Cincinnati, they've had a slow start. So, I mean, it's only been one team to start on, 0.13 and make the playoffs. And that was the Texans in 2018. We'll see if they can be the second.

Well, in terms of the Washington commanders, they got to. be super fired up with what they're seeing with Jaden Daniels. I mean, this guy's got the it factor, Richard. You go on the road in a hostile environment and in prime time Monday night football and you escape with a win and have some dazzling throws. I mean, he's getting his playmakers involved. I mean, this Washington commander team could be one of those sneaky teams. And we talked about it in our season preview. Look out for Washington because if Jaden Daniels can be this year, C.J. Stroud, they got enough talent around them, you know. This NFC South is. is up for grabs and they're right in the mix with it.

Washington's a dark horse, Richard. Speaking of panic meters, we got to go back to San Francisco. And I know you got to be a little, little nerve here. CMC is facing a significant injury. George Kittle out. Now we're seeing, you know, D-Bo. Now we got news that Jvon Hargrave is out for the season with a torn tricep. And Brock Purdy is day-to-day with back soreness.

Richard, where's your head? at with San Francisco. What's the level of panic now? It's starting to get up there, Metro. It's probably seven and a half, eight, just because, and this is what I'll say. I'll preface it with this. It's tough in the National Football League. And it's tough to consistently go latent to the playoffs in the National Football League. I don't think people understand the fatigue that puts on your body. And I know people bring up the Kansas City Chiefs and what they've been able to do, but they've been able to do it and then a lot of times they refresh a lot of that roster. I mean, they have their standard pieces of Patrick Mahones, Travis Kelsey. Yeah, Justin Reed has been on the team a couple of years,

but a lot of these pieces changed. George Carl Loftus has got him a couple. Chris Jones is obviously a foundational piece. But if you look at the tackles, if you look at the tackles, the tackles have been different for a lot of their Super Bowl runs. You look at it, it'd be two different tackles for one Super Bowl, different tackles for the next Super Bowl, different tackles for the next Super Bowl. And if you look at their defense, their secondary, they find corners. They're doing great job of drafting and developing players. And that goes to Legerius Sneed and his development. Tarverius Ward was a big factor in their first Super Bowl win against us in San Francisco in Miami. I mean, and then you look at McDuffie. You look at them acquiring Tyron Matthew and the impact he had.

And then he leaves and they bring Justin Reed in. He has impact. And they just keep finding a way. But in San Francisco, they've been doing it with the same cast of guys. And it's just, I think the emotional, physical toll of extra games every single year. It's just starting to weigh. It's starting to weigh heavy. Expectations way heavy.

And it matters. It affects your health. When you're sitting there every time and you win games and it feels like you lost, it's like, hey, even winning games, isn't good enough now. Hey, you win the game, you didn't win it good enough. Hey, you go to the Super Bowl, you didn't win it so you guys didn't do good enough. You get an NFC championship after a disappointing season where you, where you make some huge plays and make a run late, and then you fall short in the NFC championship, and people act like you didn't even make the playoffs. And so

it's just hard, you know, and so the panic meter is up there. It's going to take a great job of coaching from Nick Sorensen defensively. It's going to take Kyle Shanahan's best coaching job to really keep this on track. And he's done things like this before. We had injuries like this in 2019. We lost Joe Staley. We lost Mike McGlenshy. We lost Juan Alexander.

We lost D4. We lost so many. I mean, we lost, I was out for a game in 2019. We lost a lot of guys. And he just kept finding ways. Got other guys stepping up. Next man mentality.

We kept losing running backs. And then you see Bruce. Rita run well. You would see Taven Coleman run. Then you'd see Rahim Moster running the football. And other guys just kept stepping up. It didn't matter what happened. Guys knew the assignment. And so I'm expecting the same response from this team. It's great leadership. Guys are tough. They're going to play through these injuries if they can. Trent Williams is still working himself into shape. I guarantee you there's not a harder working human being on the planet. It's just different playing football. He's fighting as far as he can.

I'm sure he's getting better. He'll be better at this game than he was last game. game. The same with Brandon Iyuk. It was a great confidence building game for Joanne Jennings and Brock Purdy. Hopefully the Brock Purdy injury isn't too serious because that could have a really detrimental impact on this team's performance. But Bosa came in with a rib injury. He fought through it. You know, he's out there toughing it through. But it just gives somebody else an opportunity. And I hope Javon is able to heal up and come back. But it's tough. You know, the concern level with Christian McCaffrey is going up as he goes to see more specialists and try to figure out a way to overcome this.

But Jordan Mason's playing good in the interim. George Kittle expected back, hopefully Charverius Ward is feeling healthier. Tolanoa Hufunga will have another week under his belt. Greenlaw, they say is expected back midseason. I really think quietly, quietly, that's the factor this defense is missing. the amount of intensity, speed, and attitude, and just impact that Dre Greenlaw brings to the field. He's a menace. He's a menace out there.

And Fred Warner is that same way. But with both of them, it's chaos. You know, it's really, you know, guys looking around, you know, guys, head on the swivel because you don't know which one is going to come body slam you. And so without him on the field, I think they're missing something. I know DeAndre can't, I mean, Campbell's trying to do a good job. They kind of attacked them late for a touchdown with Kyron Williams, but you just need more from him. And it's unfair to ask that of him. Drey Greenlaw is an all pro-caliper player and has played that way.

And when you, when you're without that, it's evident. Well, you talked about the cast of characters and they're starting to have to pay these cast of characters. And in doing so, we talked about it already. You got to, you got to cut bait with some of these guys. And one of the guys I guarantee the faithful wants back is Eric Armstead. You know, I mean, that's a guy who was a cap casualty for this team. Let's face it. And I know he's one of your good friends.

This is a guy that they need in the trenches right now more than ever. And unfortunately, he's playing in Jacksonville. Richards, it's time for our Thursday night football TNF preview presented by Prime Video. You're going to be heading back to New York City. I know you're fired up for that six-hour cross-country flight that you're about. to embark on. The Cowboys are taking on the New York football giants who finally got in the wind column looked a lot better this past week. Prayers up for the Browns. I don't know what the heck's going on with them. But Richard, what's your thoughts here? Vegas says this line is a four and a

half point in favor of the Cowboys. What's your thoughts going into Thursday night? Well, if history is any indicator, Dak has yet to lose to the Giants in the last 12 meetings, The last 12 outings, he's been completing 67% of his passes for 275 yards, 26 touchdowns, and only six interceptions. They're going to have to find a way to slow him down. And right now, Dallas needs a confidence boost. And I'm sure they're going to be, you know, chopping at the bit to really be explosive offensively. You saw a little frustration between C.D. Lamb and Dak Prescott last week. And I'm sure they're ready to get that bad taste out of their mouth, two home losses.

This is the perfect remedy for those elements that they have run the ball. They haven't been great against the run. They haven't been great stopping the run. They haven't been great running the ball. And now this D-Line for the New York Jets is not to be tried. One of the best defensive lines. You can talk about a lot of other things. This is one of the best defensive lines in football with Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence, Tibado.

They're going to make it really hard for this Dallas offensive lines. And without Tyrant Smith, it's just looked different. You know, he brought a level of confidence, stability to this offense. They had always been, like you looked at Dallas's offensive line for the last decade or so, a little bit more, and you've always just felt like they're one of the best lines in football. You know the names, you know the Hall of Famers, and now they don't have them, and it just feels more leaky. And so this defensive line is the only reason I believe in Malik Neighbors.

Malik Neighbors really put the team on his back offensively last week. And it was really cool to say he took accountability for dropping that pass the week before. Felt like he let his teammates down, let his team down, and responded in a big way. And you love to see that from one of your young leaders and a guy who's probably going to be the face of this franchise going forward, just being accountable and then responding in the right way. That's really inspiring to your teammates, doing things the right way. And kudos to him being able to do that. It's going to be a really tough game.

It's going to be a really tough game. it's going to be a challenge for for Trayvon Diggs to keep him in check. But hopefully this is going to be a remedy for Dallas's pass rush because they haven't been what they have been in the past. Like I know hit, I mean, one hit on a quarterback. I didn't see a lot of sacks last week. It's just they just haven't been getting home like they have in the past. I mean, they had been chaotic. Michael Parsons has one sack on the season right now.

And at this point, you know what I mean? You're expected you used to them having, you know, two, three, sacks. Sometimes he has a zero-sac game than a two-sac game. Maybe this is going to be his coming out party, but they're going to need it. They definitely are. Cowboys need to get right. And this is an opportunity for the Giants to prove themselves, too. They spent a lot of their time, as you discussed, building in the trenches in the offseason, that was a point of emphasis, specifically on the D-line. So this should be an interesting game. I too, I like the Cowboys personally. But this is this week's TNF preview presented by Prime Video. Make sure you guys watch

We're going to start with a journalistic hot take of the week that just got absolutely bashed, but I'm pretty sure I really want it.

I know which way you're going to lean here being a defensive guy, but Mel Kuiper came out with the hot take of the week saying the NFL should ban the cover two. Richard, you buying or selling this hot take? I'm selling every bit of it, and I'm selling it. And, I mean, I'm selling that Mel Kuyper's. give these kind of takes. Just stick to the draft at this point because if you're saying stuff like that, then maybe, you know, maybe creating rules and adjustments isn't for you. That's a ridiculous take. The defense is already handicapped by so many rules. I mean,

illegal contact, past interference, holding, you can't, corners can't chop 350 pound linemen anymore. They're like, why is this corner just getting pushed over? Well, because the corner's 180 pounds, and the guy that's pushing them is 345. Physics is something that we all learn in school. And if you didn't, well, you're getting an example on Sundays when you see corners and offensive linemen interact. It's not going to go well for the corner if they can't create a power, they can't keep it inside or anything like that.

So sell that, Mel, just enough. Stick to the draft. Stick to the draft. Yeah. And I mean, you call it stick to the draft. Speaking of the draft, Richard, by yourself, we could rewind time a bit back to April. Jaden Daniels should have been the number one overall pick. Uh-oh.

Uh-oh. Uh-oh. But Mitchell, sometimes, and I've said this before, sometimes the benefit and the blessing is in not going number one. It was C.J. Stroud the year before where you're like, man, C.J. Stroud should have went I'm sure C.J. Stroud is sitting right now in Houston, like, very happy to go to. This is probably the only time in my life. That second is just where I wanted to be. And this is the same situation with Jaden Daniels. He's walked into a situation where there's a different level of stability, a head coach, a different system, a different city, different coordinator,

et cetera, et cetera. And sometimes the right situation for you might not have been Chicago. Maybe he goes to Chicago and his season starts differently. And his, his maturity and his development isn't the same. We talked about should first year quarterbacks be starting. He just showed us that it is possible. You know, C.J. Shroud showed us last year, it is possible to be efficient and develop with time on the job. And for him to have the highest completion percentage as a rookie in NFL history, his third game into his career is, is incredible. So I'm buying that Mitchell. It's hard not to buy that right now. And I'm trying to find, I'm trying to find,

because the Cincinnati Bengals played the Kansas City Chiefs last week. And so we got to see them against Patrick Mahomes in this defense against Patrick Mahomes. And, you know, I mean, it was, it was, they held them the 26 points. And that's pretty good for Patrick Mahones, coached offense. They got weapons.

Their defense is really good. And then for him to score more points than Patrick Mahomes is really something that you need to keep eye on. You know, these are two defenses, same defenses. He scored 38, Patrick scored 26. I'm obviously not saying he's anywhere in the stratosphere of Patrick Mahomes. But it's just more gives more credence that this is a defense that has played, you know, and some guys that have played at a high level at times. And he really had his way with him.

When he got pressure, it's sometimes complex looks, sometimes disguised looks that other quarterback struggled with. He was able to diagnose it, get the ball where it's supposed to be, only missed two throws. And even those two throws got criticized, so I'm buying him. Love it. Richard, let's go to the NFC North. As much as it pains me to ask this question, I got to ask it. The Minnesota Vikings, I don't like you right now, Rich.

The Minnesota Vikings will win the North, your thought. Buy or sell. Please sell this, please, for the love of God. Mitchell, I want to sell it. I want to sell it. But Mitchell, I get. I can't. Oh, God.

Not right now. The stock is too hot. The Minnesota Vikings, if you really look at, and we're going to look at this in a microcosm and a vacuum, because I'm going to go down a tangent here. But if you look at Brian Flores' time in Miami, they went on some winning streets, Mitchell, where they played really good defense.

And he was forced to play Tua Tua Tua Tua Tua's comments about Flores and all this. But I remember that season where Ryan Fitzpatrick was having a really good year. He went to San Francisco and I think he might have thrown for 400. It was a really crazy game. And he just was having a really good season. And then out of nowhere they decided to sit him and say they're playing Tua. And Tua struggled initially, you know, everybody was saying it's the offense and it's this and it's that. And I'm like, it's just through for 400 with these same guys.

So how is it the offense? And Tua can't throw 400 yards. And obviously Tua has developed until, you know, found the perfect place with Mike McDaniels, got a paid, you know, playing really good football. But Brian Flores's defense has played historically well and given a lot of quarterback's problems. And they won, I think before he got fired from Miami, I think they won seven straight to finish. the season. And so it works. So to match that defense with Kevin O'Connell's offense, and during Kevin O'Connell's tenure, they've been a winning team. And Kirk Cousins got hurt, had the Achilles injury, so that knocked them off track. But they were even winning games with Dobbs because the system

that he did, he does a great job as a play caller, as a schemer, as a coach to understand situations, understands the defense. And then you got Justin Jefferson, arguably the best receiver in the National Football League, and then you insert Sam Darnold, who just seems like a hand-and-glove fit for this offense. It's just matches made in heaven, symbiosis all around within this organization. You talk about the home field advantage in Minnesota in that dome and the fans, you know, the skull chance, Aaron Jones and his impact. I'm sure he's looking forward to another, you know, another good revenge game, old-fashioned revenge game against the Green Packers, but they're looking like a really complete team. And it's hard to find weaknesses to

this team, especially when you got guys like the ginkler. You know, the ginkler, you know, he leaves, he's coming in, making an impact. Grenard has four sacks. You're getting contributions all over the place. So it's not even like you can key on one guy and say, hey, we got to stop this guy. We got to stop this guy. The pressure is coming from everywhere. And you lost guys like the Neil Hunter. And that left holes that you're like, hey, how are they going to fill that hole? And it's schematically. They're doing it by committee. They're doing it by it.

It's a team effort. Everybody's eating. Everybody's getting home. And I got to buy them. They're true contenders of contenders for the NFC North, but contenders in these playoffs and contenders for the one or two seed, especially in this NFC, NFC that looks wide, wide open. Richard, I'm going to sell your decision to buy that one. You know, I don't, I don't mean to. Right. But the reason is, is I think the Detroit Lions are just getting going and I think they're going to show you that on Monday Night Football.

I think you're going to be probably throwing that hat around that you're wearing quite a bit because you're going to be in disgust when the Lions go and take a double-digit win on Monday night and prime time. But I will say this about the Vikings. I do like their roster a lot. They're playing without Jordan Addison, without T.J. Hawkinson. seemingly everyone wrote them off this offseason. No one thought the Vikings would even be remotely in contention for the North, let alone borderline Super Bowl contenders at this point, what they look like. And the Vikings got a hell a lot of talent on that roster. So I'm definitely nervous.

I'm buying the fact that I'm nervous as hell about the Minnesota Vikings going forward. Richard, next subject matter, buying or selling the Dallas Cowboys, they're done. They're missing the playoffs. I'm going to sell that just for the simple fact. They're too talented of a team. And the aftermath of them not making a playoffs this year and the chaos and the noise that is going to surround that team, I don't even want to imagine.

After Jerry Jones says they're going all in this season and then proceeds to make no real free agency splashes, you let Tyron Smith walk, you let Pollard walk, you don't really make any, you let Gilmore walk, and now the defense is looking a lot shakier. You don't really have an interior defensive lineman that's really that impactful. People are running the ball at wheel against this defense. You get Zimmer. You make that decision. People, instead of promoting from within and keeping continuity, you know, promoting

Al Harris into the defensive coordinator role. But I just don't think, I think they're too talented. at CD Lamb, Dak Prescott, they're too good of a team. Micah Parsons, they're going to find a way to win enough games

to at least get that seventh seat. If they don't, ooh. We revisited this subject last week. Revisited it last week. We're going to revisit it now. The Steelers will win the AFC North by yourself. I might have to buy that.

I might have to buy that, Mitchell. Let me look at this schedule because because it's it they continue to have these games that are winnable games because their defense is playing at such a very high level. I don't think it's being recognized or talked about enough, but they're keeping them in these ball games.

And Justin Field, while Justin Fields developed time under the job, time on the job, finding ways to win, finding his rhythm, the coordinator, finding ways to get him in his comfort zone, finding the things that he does well, I think they're going to have a great opportunity to win because, I mean, you watched them beat the Broncos, and you're like, oh, okay, the Broncos aren't very good, but then the Broncos win a really good ballgame,

and then you see them play really good. Bow Nix has his best game of the season. That's probably the guy they drafted and the guy they've been seeing in training camp and the expectation, but they have the Colts, the Steelers have the Colts this week. They have the Cowboys coming, into their stadium.

They have a home game against the Cowboys. Then they have the Raiders. And then they have the Jets. Then they have the Giants. Mitchell. Those are all winnable games. The Cowboys game is going to be tough. The Raiders game is just going to be one of those dragout games.

The Jets game is going to be competitive. What is Aaron is going to do? But the Giants game is a winnable game. The commanders then, like, yes, I'm buying that. I'm buying that they can win an AFC North. Because where they were last season, gives them a chance to be in position to play the teams that they're playing. And the Browns are looking like they're having a down year.

Cincinnati doesn't look that great. They're only three to start the year. We've talked about Baltimore losing to the Raiders. They were able to pull it out this week and beat the Cowboys pretty convincingly. But Mike Tomlin, I mean, this is this is his masterpiece. This is his 16th chapel. This is his master piece because they're 3 and O. And if they're 4 and O, with all the conversations and the questions going into this season,

he has to be one of the front runners for coach of the year, along with Mike McDonald and the things that he's doing in Seattle. You make Dermit with his Buffalo team that lost so many pieces. I mean, there's a lot of good coaches that you can talk about, but he has to be up there. Next on the list, the Titans. We don't talk about the tights a whole lot, but we're going to talk about them right now. They made a mistake in siding with Willis and letting Malik Willis walk. No, I sell that because they just weren't, they weren't the team that was going to develop them.

Sometimes you're just not built to develop guys. And maybe a new coaching staff could have done better. But I'm thankful to see Malik Willis going to a place that he could develop. the floor said that that was one of the most fun coaching games that he's ever had, just drawing this up and watching Malik go out there and execute and trying to draw up a plan that allows him to showcase his talents. And then watching it come to fruition and come to the life and the way it did in Tennessee, in front of those fans, the team that drafted him and the team that gave up on him,

he said he really appreciated that and enjoyed that. And I'm sure Malik Willis enjoyed that. So no, no, I think the Titans made the best decision for the Titans in the decision for Malik Willis. It's working out both sides. Obviously, Will Levis has had his struggles. He's played solid, but he's made some bonehead mistakes. Who knows? He'll figure it out eventually, or they'll draft another quarterback, but this is best for Malik Willis. Well, it goes to show you, too, the importance of coaching, because Matt LaFleur really did a number with Malik Willis in these last two starts. I think a lot of people expect that the Green Bay Packers to falter without Jordan Love,

and here they are winning with relative ease these last couple games. Kudos to Matt LaFleur and that coaching staff. On to the next, Aaron Rogers is officially back, buy or sell. Buy, buy, and buy a lot of it. He's back. He has that swagger. When he starts to give these with a little arrogant little points and start looking at guys, you better be careful

because he comes from a different era. than a lot of these guys. There's only a couple of these dinosaurs left, and he's one of them. Tom's done. He's the last of a very dying breed, an old school brand of quarterbacking, an intellect, a person who understands these games.

Mel Kuiper doesn't have to, you don't have to ban cover two when Aaron Rogers is on the field. I guarantee you he has answers. He sees it. He diagnoses it. He beats it consistently. So he's a different kind of quarterback. So I'm buying that, Mitchell.

He's back in the New York. York Jets fans couldn't be happier. Robert Sala couldn't be more ecstatic, and they're going to be an issue going forward. And finally, after getting off to a extremely slow start to the season, Travis Kelsey has eight receptions for 69 yards throughout three games. This will be Travis Kelsey's last season by or sell. Sell. Sell.

Sell. Sell. If he says it, I'll believe it. But as long as Travis Kelsey wants to play, he gets to play. His resume says that, his play, his chemistry. We just talked to Trent McDuffie about the outstanding chemistry, almost mind reading, almost telepathic connection between Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelsey. As I'm sure they're good friends and as his go-to target,

you're going to have to drag him out of that building before Patrick Mahones is okay with Travis Kelsey retiring. I don't care what his stats are for the season. I don't care if he had one catch. He's still a very important piece, and he's still the guy that Patrick Mahones, if everything fails and all is lost and things are falling apart,

he's going to go to in the playoffs, in the crucial moments, and he's going to be there, he's going to make those plays. So if he decides to, but no, I'm selling that. I'm with you. I think Travis Kelsey is the ultimate pro's pro.

I expect to rebound here after a troubling start to the season for him. I see him returning to his normal self here relatively quick, Richard. saw, you saw somebody, when you saw the movie Friday and Debo beat him up and he said, you want some of that old man? No, no, no, I don't. You don't one of those Minnesota Vikings right now. I know you want the Detroit Lions to want some and Detroit has some bully ball and their great culture. That's going to be a dog fight. Now, I can't wait for that game. But then we're going to. I got enough lion stuff here, Richard. I figured I'd brainwash you enough.

I got my brightling lion's watch on. I got my Lions hoodie. I got my Lions pendant. Whatever, man. I'll let you put the Vikings up. I love the Detroit Lions in that Honolulu blue, Mitchell. But I just got to say what's on the tape. I got to call it straight.

And then third, I want to go with Josh Allen, probably the MVP frontrunner. If it's not Sam Darnold, then it's Josh Allen. And if it's not those two, then Patrick Mahones is right there, but they're probably getting bored of giving Patrick Mahon's MVP, so they want to give it to somebody else this year. But they're three on my list, deservedly so. And fourth, I've got to go to Seattle Seahawks. They're playing good football. This Mike McDonald coach defense is giving a lot of guys problems.

Mitchell, the Detroit Lions want to get back into power ratings? power rankings beat these Seattle Seahawks and you'll be back. You know, that's how you get back to the top of the mountain. You knock people off and you earn your spot. And I want to put Pittsburgh there because of their record and their defense, but I'm not quite ready for that yet. That's where I'm not quite ready to put the Pittsburgh Steelers in that spot and give them that kind of a claim.

I'm not quite there yet. But that fifth spot, that's the tough spot for me. tough spot because there's so many teams just playing so inconsistent. Philadelphia Eagles, like what are they? They had a great game offensively on paper. You see Jalen Hertz, 300 yards, all these things. But then it's only 15 points. What happened in the red zone? And then you thought the Saints, we thought the Saints, so much offensive production early on. And then it kind of disseminated in this game against the Philadelphia Eagles. So I don't know if I want to give them to that. Is it the Green Bay Packers able to weather the storm, weather the Jordan Love injury,

right now they're weathering this storm with Malik Willis playing some really good football, impressive, making themselves some money. Love to see it. Or is it one of the old contenders that's just starting slow? Baltimore Ravens. It's the... Mmm.
