Hey guys, it's us.
The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you.
you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel
and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you
funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some
retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and
friends on the ice.

Winning on Clay is an art.
The rallies are relentless.
And at the French Open, only the toughest survive.
I'd know.
I competed there for decades.
Join me, Renee Stubbs, on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast for no-nonsense breakdowns of the

It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.

Welcome back to the Richard Sherman podcast.
And what a game for the Seattle Seahawks and Sam Darnham.
Huge play to Jackson Smith and Jigba.
Huge game from Jackson Smith and Jigba.
he somehow through 11 games this season is the first player in NFL history to have 75 yards or more in his first 11 games to start a season.
Also broke the single season record for the Seattle Seahawks passing up D.K. Medcaps 13003 yards, I believe it was, to now hold that record and to do it in only 11 games is incredible.
Mitchell. Again, that defense looks good. They just looks well coached and formidable.
And the D-line looks strong. The secondary looks confident. I'm sure fans will be complaining about
how that game ended because, again, the Seahawks get up early. They look comfortable.
And then they allow the other team to kind of just climb their way back in the game.
Never really felt like the game was in doubt. But Steele just didn't feel like as dominant as the game
started. They start these games off so incredible, and this was another incredible start.
Another road win for Mike McDonald in this defense and this offense. The special teams that's
been pretty solid this season gave up a 90-yard punt return, so I'm sure that's going to be
a coachable moment for Mike McDonald and his staff. But I feel as good about the Seattle
Seahawks as I felt all season. I felt good after the Rams game. I feel even better today.
they just continue to just be a steady ship.
Sometimes being who you're supposed to be,
beating teams you're supposed to be,
is an underrated skill set in the national football league.
And that's what the Seattle Seahawks are doing.
They're beating the teams they're supposed to beat.
They're battling the way they're supposed to battle.
Guys are continuing to improve.
I thought this was one of Devin Witherspoon's best games.
I thought Tariq Woolen has since the trade rumors and all that
has played magnificent football.
I know it's not the interception numbers and the things that fans want to see and fill in the
stats sheets, but he's been sticky in coverage.
He's been locked down, forced a number of incomplete passes throughout this game.
Just was tightened coverage and forced Cam Ward to hold the ball a number of times.
Byron Murphy, another game with a sack, DeMarcus Lawrence, just a veteran presence that's
been dominant throughout this season.
The offensive line, the offensive line for the Seattle's
Seahawks has been a revelation.
They've been a revelation.
That's a big reason why they are as good as they are,
why the confidence level is as high as it is,
because when you face it, a defense like you did last week
against the Rams, and you're solid.
You hold up solid.
You don't hear about the big name players
that were supposed to be very disruptive in this game.
We know Sam Darno struggled and there was some pressure,
but he didn't get sacked a ton in that game.
He didn't get sacked a ton in this game.
He was pretty effective.
16 of 26 for 244 and two touchdowns.
Kenneth Walker got it going a little bit more on the ground,
along with Charbonnet.
Charbonnet was able to find some lanes today as well,
and that's another positive sign for the Seattle Seahawks
because that's going to be the thing that takes them to the level
of true Super Bowl contenders this season
is if they can balance out this offense.
Balance out this offense.
We know you got Jackson Smith and Jigba,
who's having an incredible season, who's cementing himself as the best receiver in the National Football League right now.
There are other great receivers in the National Football League.
They're not playing as well as him.
So I know everybody's like, well, this is just one season.
Well, this is that season for him.
He's breaking records all over the place.
He's leading the league by almost 200 yards in receiving yards.
So you've got to give him that kind of credit.
Sam Darnan is doing what he's supposed to do.
Some of these passes are really elite level accuracy, elite level.
completions, his poise in this game was much better.
And I think that Seattle Seahawks will go as far as he will take them.
But I think that like Clint Kubiak talked about before the game,
he's doing a great job in this game.
He did a great job of just trusting his feet,
trusting his eyes, making sure his feet in his eyes were married.
They talked about how his feet were telling him, hey, don't throw these passes.
He shouldn't have been throwing the passes that he did that led to interception.
his eyes, his eyes were there.
He gave it away.
He had a terrible game.
If he can respond and he can play better
against this same Rams team late in the season,
we got that game on Thursday night football in December.
I can't wait to see it.
I'm not sure who's a great matchup for this team.
Without him turning a ball over and giving it to another team,
I can't see a team in the NFC.
That's a great matchup for it.
And I know the Philadelphia Eagles fans will say,
what about us?
We're the reigning Super Bowl champs.
I would feel good about Seattle going into that game.
And I know you guys would feel good about the Philadelphia Eagles,
but I think this defense is really solid, complete,
with the brilliance of Mike McDonald.
I think this offense, if they can get it going on the ground,
and that would be no easy task against that Philadelphia Eagles defense,
I think this is the most complete team.
I think this is a very complete team,
and they're going to be a tough out for anybody in the playoffs.
They move to eight and three on the season.
The Titans move to one in 10,
Cam Ward showed some flashes, no question about it.
You got to give him some credit, too.
He showed some flashes during a very tough season.
He's showing improvement.
He's showing that he can get the job done.
And he is the future for the Tennessee's Titans,
regardless of who the next coach is.
But we'll see how this season continues to go.
The Minnesota Vikings, who've been struggling,
have to deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
They come to town to play the Seattle Seahawks next week.
So J.J. McCarthy and his troubles traveled to Seattle.
Revenge game, Richard. Sam Darnold.
I got to say this, man.
And we talked about it this week.
The Seattle Seahawks won this offseason, in my opinion.
You move on from Gino Smith.
It seemed like, you know, Gino had the Seattle Seahawks in a position where they're always
competitive.
They're always a solid squad.
but they were never a true contender.
And when I say contender,
I don't think they were a true division contender.
You bring Sam Darnold and you pay them $40 million a year,
which on its surface seems like a lot.
But when you compare that to Trevor Lawrence, Jordan Love,
these guys making North of $50, $55 million,
you want to talk about a dramatic discount
the Seattle Seahawks got with Sam Darnold.
And he is a guy that I think can lead them to the promised land.
You know, lead them to a division title.
Make them competitors and contenders.
in this NFC. I truly believe that. And then you look at JSN. We all talk about Yak Kings, right?
The Yak Kings, the Debo Samuels of the world, the Golden Tates of the world. JSN is the yak, the deep ball
king, not the yak king, but the deep ball king. Richard, he ranks 99.9 by PFF on deep ball rating.
He's number one in the league. He's got 14 receptions north of 20 yards. Richard, this guy,
Ohio State, went in doubt, draft an Ohio State wide out.
That's my motto if I were a GM, because these Ohio State wideouts are killing it in the league.
JSN, oh my goodness, might just be the best of the bunch.
But we've talked about Cam Ward a little bit, Richard.
And I disagree with you wholeheartedly, in fact, I think Jackson Dart should have been the number one pick based
on his performance this year.
Yeah, I know he was out this game against the Lions.
But what I see, the stature, the charisma, the poise, you know, the winner mentality,
I still think Jackson Dart should have been one-one in this draft.
I like what I see out of Cam Ward today,
but Richard, I'm not sold on him as the future of this Tennessee Titans franchise.
I think he's going to be a good player,
but I stand by my word.
I think Jackson Dart is the better pro going forward.
I'll let you respond to that notion, but that's my opinion.
Yeah, I can see that.
You know, you can make an argument either way.
Obviously, the Titans have won one game this year.
They'll be picking top three in this draft coming up.
would expect. So you can make an argument either way. I think Jackson Dart has a better
supporting cast, no question about it. I think their defense is better. Their D-line. I can't,
the receivers for Tennessee Titans, can you name three? Because I couldn't without looking
it up. And I could say the same about the Giants, if I'm being honest. I'm not saying Jackson
Dart play with great receivers for the Giants. But I thought the play calling there, the system in place,
the structure that they play within was better than what Cam Ward has been given.
I'm looking forward to seeing who the Tennessee Titans hire to help support Cam Ward
and push him to the next level.
We're hearing about the Minnesota Vikings fans calling for the firing of Kevin O'Connell,
which I never thought I would hear.
Oh, my God.
These NFC North teams, Mitchell, I'm sorry.
They're just these fan bases, these fan bases,
in. I know they're supposed to, Minnesota is supposed to be such a nice, calm fan base,
but hearing them call for that, the Green Bay Packers calling for LaFleur saying the offense is so
predictable. We need to get rid of him and get somebody else. Like, give me a break.
Richard, if the Minnesota Vikings fire Kevin O'Connell, he will be hired within exactly 60 seconds
by about 20 other teams in the league. I mean, that is their only saving grace with that franchise.
The GM made a dramatic mistake in letting go of Sam Darnold.
and entrusting J.J. McCarthy to come in and be this, you know,
second year coming off the injury savior of this franchise to take him to the next level.
No question.
It's not looking good right now in Minnesota.
And I think Seattle fans have got to be thrilled by that mistake.
No question about that, Mitchell.
And that's the thing.
I know the Seattle Seattle Seahawks fans are ecstatic and the Minnesota Vikings fans are in the dumps.
And we're going to get to them later on in the show.
Today's show is brought to you by our new present.

We're starting a trend.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Oh, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the...
the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas,
and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

The French Open is one of the toughest tests in tennis, and I know firsthand because I competed there myself.
I'm Renee Stubbs, and on the Renee Stubbs tennis podcast,
I'm breaking down everything happening at Roland Garris.
Every match, every upset, and what it really takes to win on Clay.
Jenchian win.
I mean, she went down at three to Rabakina, but I'm delighted.
She's an outsider to win the French for me.
And she likes Clay.
Listen, Lina Rabakina is arguably the best player in the world right now,

Because if she's serving, well, good luck.
Consider this your courtside seat to the French.

But your Detroit Lions were in a barn burner of their own.
James Winston came to town, Mitchell,
and he put on a James Winston-type show.
He threw some balls that were put in harm's way
that the Lions didn't take advantage of.
They did take advantage of one.
but he also put some up there and put up big numbers
throwing for 366 yards in this game, 18 to 36,
only 50% completion percentage, but two touchdowns.
But Jemir Gibbs, 15 carries for 219 yards and a touchdown.
Jared Galt, they were able to pull off the win.
Veteran team, just finding a way to win at the end.
But I know you were nervous, and I told you.
I told you to worry to watch out for him.
You did tell me, Richard.
we talked about this last night.
I did not go to the game today.
I had an opportunity to, but I chose not to.
I chose to have a restful Sunday, Richard.
I thought it was going to be a cake walk down at Ford Field.
And I was wrong.
And you put me in my place.
You said, Mitchell, be Leary of James Winston.
Be leery of Wondell Robinson, Theo Johnson,
Isaiah Hodgins.
And I said, Richard, you're crazy, man.
But I might have to think a little bit more highly of your opinion.
of this New York Giants football team.
James Winston scared the living bejes out of me today.
Richard, there was over a thousand yards of total offense.
I'm curious to know how many times in NFL history that happened
because it was a wild one in Detroit.
Detroit got down early.
They were never in the lead in this game
until they finally took the lead in overtime.
I have a bone to pick with Dan Campbell
and whoever's calling the plays for the Detroit Lions.
you have got, I would say without argument,
one of the top three running backs in the NFL and Jemir Gibbs.
You have got another guy who could be starting on half the league's team in David Montgomery.
You've got a sonic knuckles in the backfield, right?
Where the heck has been knuckles?
David Montgomery, five carries today for 18 yards.
Last year, the season before that, he was the one that set the tone.
He was the one that grinded these defenses down,
that set up play action,
that allowed Jerry Gough to pick apart the defenses over the middle
for these 8, 10, 12, 15-yard gains
that turned into explosives.
And Richard, we're not seeing that right now.
The explosives are coming from Jemir Gibbs,
who carried the ball an exact amount of 15 times,
Richard, for 219 yards.
Three touchdowns on the day.
I mean, my goodness, the Detroit Lions of the last two years
ran the ball to set the tone, to set up play action.
That's where Jared Goff excels.
They've been moving away from that.
I get it. You're down 10 early.
Who cares? You've got to rely on the run game.
Jonathan Vilma was calling in the broadcast all day to day.
The lions need to lean on this rug game.
And they ran the ball 20 times today.
Great. You rush for over 225 total yards.
That's awesome.
Due to two explosives of Jemir Gibbs, hand these guys the football.
get back to basics. That's my call to the Detroit Lions staff right now. Get back to basics.
Let's not rely on Jerry Goff, dropping back and heaving the ball downfield. Let's rely on the run game.
Let's get these O line comfortable. Let's let these guys that are good run blockers set the tone early.
And then resort back to the passing attack. I believe the Lions still have a very good chance to make a solid run, even win this division.
Their next handful of games, you know, against the Packers on Thanksgiving,
against the Cowboys on Thursday night football, both at home.
You know, those are going to be difference makers and the slotting of this playoff run down the stretch.
Richard, they absolutely need to come out with their true Detroit lying grit mentality on Thursday
on Thanksgiving against the Packers, and they need to take over this division.
The Chicago Bears look pretty damn good.
I'm not going to discount that.
but I believe the Detroit Lions are a better team in the long run.
Their schedule is more comfortable coming down the stretch.
It is huge that they were able to pull off this win.
But Richard, I've got a lot of complaints, as you can tell.
No, I can tell.
And I'm sure the other Detroit Lions fans have a ton of complaints.
The thing I noticed was Janice Winston was very comfortable in that pocket.
I mean, there was a little bit of pocket pressure where things were starting to collapse,
you know, some sacks maybe have been starting to develop,
but he was comfortable and he was comfortable
and he was picking that defense apart because he wasn't sacked.
He wasn't under as much duress as he need.
And we talked about it.
You guys need pass rush.
And I thought you guys would pick up a Preston Smith,
a Zadarius Smith, somebody, a veteran to help this pass rush be more effective.
The only sack of the game came from Aiden Hutchinson on the last play of the game.
And it, sure, it ended up being a colossal play that ends the game
and closes this game out for the Detroit Lions.
But where is the pressure all game long?
This is a two-win lion, I mean, two-win Giants team on their third string quarterback.
We all love watching James Winston play football,
but this is not a game.
This is not a team if you're talking about the Detroit Lions and Super Bowl contenders
where you would expect them to be in a dog fight in overtime
with James Winston and the Detroit Lions.
And mind you, I saw James Winston,
in a dog fight with them last week against the Green Bay Packers.
So there's a lot to fix.
There's a lot of things on this defense that need to be shorted up.
There's some offensive play calling things.
Jamir Gibbs, if he only has 15 carriers and 219 yards,
everybody's scratching their head about why he's not getting the ball more.
If he would have got 20 carries, doesn't sound like he would have got 300 yards.
I mean, it could have been an all-time record-breaking day for him.
And to not see that, to not see him getting that.
those opportunities and that kind of production is frustrating.
But yeah, I don't know what they're going to do.
I really don't, it doesn't feel strong.
These wins don't feel strong wins.
You know what I mean?
They feel like relief wins.
Like, hey, you won the game, like, oh, God, thank goodness.
Like, my Sunday's not going to be ruined.
But it doesn't give the confidence that, man, this is a team I know can compete for
Super Bowl.
I'm with you, Richard.
Before we leave this game, I want to talk about Mike Kafka.
the interim head coach for the New York Giants.
I'm a firm believer in this Giants organization,
like what they've set up,
especially with this off season,
bringing in Jackson Dart,
bringing in Camp Scadaboo,
you know,
bringing in Abdul Carter.
It seemed like they've totally shifted their tone.
And they've got a bunch of winners,
the guys that like do not want to settle on anything but winning.
And you've got to love to see that from the New York Giants.
And I think we see that a little bit with this head coach and wife,
Kafka.
Do you think that they're going to keep them around based
on this performance. I mean, I was really impressed. I did not expect them to lean on
Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy, the amount they did. They were so hell-bent on establishing the
run game that it made life for James. Pretty darn easy. Do you like what you see in Mike Kafka?
Yeah, I like what I see in Mike Kafka, but it's so tough for interim head coach because he
he's not able to come in and develop the culture, you know, do things his way, run the program the
way he wants to. Yes, he coached a good game. I thought he gave him a chance, but the same is true
about, about Day Bowl. I thought Jay Bowl, that's the reason he got fired. He coached some really
great quarters, some really great partial games, and then they end up losing in the end. And I think
it would be different. If this was a win and a Giants found a way to win this game, we'd be having a
much different conversation about Kafka. But it's for Giants fans and for the front offense,
it's just another almost win. It's just another, oh, we could have had that one.
You know, there's been probably five or six of these games for the New York Giants this season.
So I don't think it's enough to really give him serious consideration.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I think they're going to go out there and look for,
look to hit a home run with one of these offensive geniuses, whatever the next,
or defensive geniuses, whatever the next guy in line is.
And I'm not sure who that is right now because a lot of the winning teams have head coaches
that are calling the plays.
I don't think Mike McDonald's going anywhere.
Do you go for Clint Kubiak in that offense?
I don't think you do.
If you talk about the Rams,
do you go for their coordinator?
Knowing McVeigh has a big hand in that.
Is it Shula, the defensive coordinator for the Rams,
who has them playing incredibly well, perhaps?
But they won't be the only team on the hunt for a new head coach.
You got the Tennessee Titans.
You might have the Cincinnati bangles,
depending on what they do at the end of the season.
season. So there's a number of teams that will be looking in the head coach hunt.
So I'm not sure, but I think CAFTA is showing himself to be a really competent offensive
coordinator, and he'll definitely get another opportunity to do that.
Another doozy, an OT thriller as well. The Chiefs come back, down 11 points in the fourth quarter
and take care of the Indianapolis Colts. The Colts looked like they were in complete control of this
game in the fourth and they just couldn't get it done. Richard Daniel Jones 19 to 31 for 181 and two
touchdowns. There really wasn't a whole lot of explosive plays on either side of the ball. Jonathan
Taylor was pretty well contained, but the Colts looked like they were going to win this game
and then the vintage chiefs of old resurrected and took care of him in OT. Is it safe to say
the Kansas City Chiefs are back? No, no, no, no, by no means. They're six and five. And that was
a desperation game for them and that's the way they played.
They played like it was a playoff game.
You saw it in Patrick Mahone's eyes.
You saw it in his demeanor and the way he went, run it, ran the football.
It wasn't run the football and slide and try to save yards and keep your body safe.
He was dropping his shoulder and trying to get as many yards as he could.
He understood the urgency in this game and what it would be if they lost this game.
So you could see it in the play calling.
You could see it in the desperation, the desperation of the offense, the
desperation of the defense, and they battle.
And they earned a win against a really tough Indianapolis coach's team who's going to be
really competitive in the playoffs.
They held Jonathan Taylor in check, who's been an MVP candidate all season long, held
Daniel Jones in check.
The coach defense was able to get to Mahomes and sack him four times, force an interception,
force a force fumble, but Mahomes still 29 of 46.
352 yards. But they leaned on Kareem Hunt in this game, and he imposed his will throughout the game.
He had 30 carries for 104 yards, but he had that critical fumble deep in the red zone that almost
was the defining moment of this game for the Kansas City Chiefs. But you just saw that resilience.
You saw the desperation. You saw them turn into that championship pedigree, to tune into that
championship pedigree, that desperate mode. And they're tough to beat if they play like that. And sometimes
you see them throughout the season where they'll just lolly gag through these games.
They'll just coast through them.
Like, hey, we've been here before, like they're bored in the National Football League,
and they've lost a lot of those games that way.
But this game, you saw them.
Hey, we're very deliberate.
We're very serious against the team that I think is going to be competitive late in the season
and going to go to the playoffs and get a win or two.
So we'll see.
This is a big win for the Kansas City Chiefs.
A real tougher loss for the Indianapolis coasting, you'll think,
because they have the Houston Texans next who gets CJ Stroud back coming off a big win
against the Buffalo Bield.
They look good.
They look really good.
They're six and two in their last eight games, if I'm not mistaken.
They're six and two in their last eight.
They're not the same Texans team that was 0-13 to start the season.
So the way that defense is playing, to watch this Colts play this way, that defense is number three
against the run, number three against the pass, number one in total defense, and number one in
scoring defense.
They're going to be in that game, and they're going to be this.
They got two pass rushes over 10 sacks already in DeNeil Hunter and Will Anderson.
So this isn't going to be any walk in the parking.
And in their secondary, they have a budding superstar for the Houston Texans and Kalin Bullock,
who had two interceptions in the game this week, a forced fumble, four interceptions on the season.
And we're not even talking about Derek Stingley and Kamari Lasseter.
And Kamari Lassiter is playing with a different kind of physicality.
We saw a highlight that didn't even involve him defending a pass.
He was coming on, coming downhill, taking on a fullback and ragdalling him for a TFL and on a critical play in the game.
So you're talking about a defense that's running and hitting.
The coach could be in trouble not because they're not a great team and not playing great football,
but they're just running into teams that are really, really rolling right now.
And I'm looking forward to that game.
That's probably going to be the game of the week next week.
The Chiefs have the Cowboys.
Sorry.
I don't doubt you at all.
I was so impressed with the Houston Texans on Thursday night.
and I know you got to see him firsthand on Thursday night football there, Richard.
You even got to sit down, right, with not Derek Stingley, but Caden Bullock and Kamari Lasseter.
I mean, how cool of an experience is that?
I know these guys are too young, young bucks in the NFL just finding their footing,
but holy cow, they have changed that Houston Texan secondary into an absolute juggernaut.
And I think they're really carrying this team.
And you couple that with Will Anderson and Dennell Hunter,
I would not want to be playing against that team right now.
No question about it.
They're young and they're hungry.
They're both only in their second years,
their best friends,
and they're playing at a really high level.
Sometimes it just takes a little bit more,
a little bit of information,
a little hint here and there to click.
And we were having a conversation
when we were doing a sit-down interview,
and I was just telling Kalin,
the conversation I had with Tameko Ryan's
after, well, during practice on Wednesday,
and it was just his hesitation.
And it was hesitation.
And I've been there before.
I haven't been there in the league,
because I've decided in the senior bowl.
I played with a lot of hesitation in college.
I played games where I was like,
oh, man, I studied really hard.
I'm getting a formation.
I see the picture I've studied,
but I'm still not believing it.
I see, oh, it should be a slant on this play.
And instead of just driving the slant and believing it,
I'm like, but what if it's a slant and goes?
And then the guy runs a slant and catches the ball, and I tackle him.
And it's bang, bang, play.
But it's those split-second decisions.
That's the difference between an all-pro.
and just a good player and just a solid player.
And I told myself when I didn't get invited to the combine,
and I didn't, I ended my senior year,
and I didn't have an invite to the combine.
I didn't have an invite to any,
any all-star games or anything.
I said, if I ever get an opportunity to play again,
I'm going to work my butt off,
I'm going to study the tape,
and I'm going to play without hesitation.
And that's what I told him.
And after the senior ball,
I played really well in the senior bowl.
I got a late invite after somebody got hurt,
and I played out there with no hesitant,
And that earned me an invitation to the combine.
And when I got to the National Football League and got my opportunity, I never played with
hesitation.
I trusted that my film study and my preparation all week was legitimate.
And if I saw the looks I'm looking for, if I got the formations and the splits that I was
looking for, then I'm going to drive the play that I believe it is.
And I told that to Kailen Bullock during that interview that, hey, you just got to trust it,
man.
You can't work hard all week and trust it in practice, trust it and walk through and trust it.
and all these other scenarios and get in the game and not trust it.
Because then you're killing the point.
That don't drive a coach crazy.
Trust it.
Just trust your work in preparation.
You've earned the right to make that play.
And if you don't make the play or they run a double move or they do something different,
at least you can go to your coach and say,
hey, I base this off of all the work we did in practice.
The looks you gave me to fill my study.
And that's why I drove it, coach.
And a coach can understand that and say, okay, I understand that.
Good job.
Just keep better eyes on that.
that play. But when you do all that and you hesitate and you don't make the play, they cannot
accept it. And in that game, he did not hesitate at all. And I don't think he'll hesitate going
forward. He's going to be one of the best safeties in the National Football League.
Love it. Love it. Richard, the Green Bay Packers, this team has been middling for a while.
They've been winning, but it has been just survive in advance, survive in advance. Nothing,
earth shocking.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas brothers. And guess what? We have some big news.
What's the news, huge news?
created our own podcast called Hey Jonas. We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just
contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts.
We're starting a trend. But this one's extra special. So how did we, how do we actually come up with
the name Hey Jonas, guys? I honestly don't remember. I think it was on a call about what we should
call it. Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before
Jonas Brothers.

The Minnesota Vikings came into town with the aforementioned J.J. McCarthy and looked terrible.
12 of 19 for 87 yards and two interceptions.
QB rating at 34.2.
Richard, where do we start?
You want to start with the Green Bay Packers.
You want to start with these lowly Minnesota Vikings
who unfortunately beat my Detroit Lions a couple weeks ago.
Yeah, because that's Mitchell.
Embarrassing.
It's really embarrassing.
And that's another conversation for a different day.
But that's a reason why there's hope in the Minnesota Vikings.
That game, that game, your Detroit Lions gave false hope
to this Minnesota Vikings fan base.
But I want to talk about the Green Bay Packers in this game
because they scored 23 points.
Jordan Love, 14 to 21, the 139.
sacked ones, but they ran Wilson 28 times for 107 and two touchdowns.
Christian Watson had five catches for 49 yards.
And I keep hearing Green Bay Packers are too predictable.
They're too predictable.
Seems like the defense just has our playbook.
I don't know how many times I have to say this.
I don't know when it's going to be more apparent to your fan base.
They do not trust the quarterback.
They don't.
They don't.
Your coach does not trust your quarterback.
This Minnesota Vikings team in Brian Flores is aggressive, exotic.
He can bring a lot of pressures from a lot of different ways.
Your offensive line is banged up.
I understand these are all factors that LaFleur is taken into account when he's calling these plays.
He's not just saying, hey, we got a great offensive line.
We've got all these great receivers and a great back right there.
Josh Jacobs isn't even playing.
It's not like he ran Josh Jacobs 28 times.
he felt the need to run Emmanuel Wilson
30, I mean almost 30 times in this game.
And the reason is the offensive line is banged up.
But I also don't want to put my quarterback in a position
to lose us a game that we should win easily
if we just lean on our defense in our run game.
That's how you play when you got a quarterback you don't trust,
or a rookie quarterback.
Not a quarterback you're playing 55 million
and you think, hey, this is one of the most dynamic players
in the National Football League.
This is one of the most elite players
in the National Football League
and he can go out there
and help us take us to the next level.
They don't believe that.
If they believe that, they would call it differently.
Now, don't get mad at me.
I'm getting tired of arguing with these fans.
That's what the tape says.
That's not what I'm, like,
I'm saying what the tape's saying.
If he was throwing the ball 45 times
and running it 25 and saying,
hey, you know, we're trying to do all this
and he's getting sacked
or, you know, make mistakes, then I would say, hey, you know, he's called in the plays for your
quarterback.
He's just, you know, it's just not working out or he's not calling the right plays or they're making
mistakes.
He doesn't trust him.
He doesn't trust him, and he doesn't want to put it in his hands to lose it.
You're paying him a lot of money to throw it 21 times for 139 yards.
And if we look at the game before, if we look at the game before and that's what I'm going
to do, I want to go back because I want to get the stats right.
And I don't want to debate these people anymore because it's,
It's getting frustrating because it's average after average after average after average.
And I'm being told that I'm doing, I'm saying something crazy.
He was 13 for 24 for 174 and two touchdown passes against the Giants.
It's not a crazy game.
I thought a earth-shattering game.
This Giants defense isn't the best in the world.
And then if we go back again, another game.
He played the Philadelphia Eagles, a game that was a rematch of the playoff game from last year.
he was 20 of 36 for 176 no touchdowns no interceptions i'm sorry guys i'm sorry
those aren't earth-shattering and and the same thing that can make you laugh can make you
cry every the green bay packers everybody eats it's the same thing the buffalo bills are saying
everybody eats we got all these great receivers we can just spread it around they don't know
who the best receiver around how's it working out is working is it working for you you think
it's the good strategy still? Is it working for the Buffalo Bills? No, because it doesn't work.
You have to have a big dog. Not a bunch of little dogs, big dogs. And if you don't have a big dog,
there's no fear of the defense from anything you're doing offensively. Whether you have a big dog
in the back field or a big dog on the outside, it's going to be tough for you to take the next
step offensively until you have a big dog. Get a big dog. And last time you went to the
MC championship, Devante Adams was there. Big
doll. That's how you got there. Big tall. A guy
that defense is. It's the same reason Aaron Rogers
left. There was Devante Adams and nobody else.
Right? And that was his chief complaint. What are we doing not
helping our offense? Richard, Jordan loves making
$55 million a year. Am I right? Right.
He completed the ball 14 times today.
If my math serves me correct,
every completion is worth $231,000 this game.
He makes over $3.2 million a game.
I would expect a lot more for my quarterback than 14 completions.
I could break down the numbers further,
but I don't want to whip out a calculator too many times.
He only had a 139 yard passing, and I get it.
They were up all game.
They were playing this lowly Vikings team.
But my goodness, I'm with you.
Jordan Love, you'd expect more.
I think he's a good player,
but this brings us back to the Sam Darnold conversation.
Who would you rather have on your team?
Money aside, Sam Darnold or Jordan Love?
I'd rather have Sam Darnold.
Then you factor in a $15 million discount on top of that.
I'm sorry.
I'm with you, Richard.
I think the Green Bay Packers are good.
I don't think they're great.
And until they add two weapons to this team
to help accelerate Jordan Love's development,
I think that's where they're going to be for a while.
But that's what they tried to do.
And they tried to Matthew Golden.
They drafted him in the first round.
They got Christian Watson, who's getting healthy.
Sure, they lose Tucker Kraft.
They lost Tucker Kraft.
But Tucker Kraft was having a great season
because he was turning a little bit into a lot.
He was turning checkdowns into big gains and touchdowns.
It wasn't like Tucker Kraft was just down the field
running big time wouts all the time
and catching all these down-the-field passes,
he was turning yak yards into a lot.
But when you pay a quarterback that's the amount of money,
he has to be a difference maker.
Never a guy that you have to protect.
If you're paying a guy that much money
and you have to protect him with the run game,
you have to say, hey, we don't want to, we're up.
We don't want to throw that much.
Could you imagine?
And the chief's being like,
and the chiefs don't patch from a hole that much.
So that's a whole story for a different day.
But Joe Burrow being up, you know, two touchdowns and being like, hey, we can't throw too much more.
We don't want to put him in harm's way.
What do you mean?
You don't want to put him in harm's way.
Throw the ball.
Why?
If we don't need to throw it with him, why do we have it?
That's the questions you've got to be asked yourself, Green Bay Packers fan.
Can, what this team, if you didn't have Jordan Love and you replaced him with just above average quarterback,
play. Let's take names out of it. Above average quarterback play, would it be different? Malik Willis.
Malik Willis. Malik Willis comes in and spells Jordan Love from time to time has played solid football
because the floor can draw it up. But if you put somebody else in there, let's go down the list
of quarterbacks that I guess would fit that category of above average quarterback play.
I mean, I guess we just go through the guys making 50 plus minutes.
If you put Herbert in there, is that your boy, your boy Trevor Lawrence, Richard.
If you put Trevor Lawrence in there, sure, sure. Are they a worst team? Are they still,
is the record to say? I don't know. I really don't. Like Baker Mayfield,
Baker Mayfield's playing at a high level. If you put Baker Mayfield in there, but he's not making 55 million.
If you put Baker Mayfield on this team, are they a better team? Potentially. That's the concerning point.
part, potentially.
That's the thing that I do not like about this Green Bay Packers team.
Their defense, yes, they got after it today.
Michael Parsons was double-teamed and making sacks on the play.
Their defense was getting after it.
They sacked the quarterback.
They intercepted J.J. McCarthy twice.
They looked apart.
Good job from Jeff Hathley, who will be a head coach candidate this season.
I hope he gets a job because he's a good friend of mine.
I think he's on an outstanding job with his defense, and he's an outstanding leader of men.
but for the fans to keep turning on these coaches
because these quarterbacks aren't who these fans believe them to be.
It's just laughable.
And I almost wish they would get the reality that they hope for
so that they could see that it is your eyes deceiving you,
not these coaches.
These coaches aren't just calling these plays because they're like,
I want to hold this guy back.
I highly doubt Matt LaFleur is going into this,
I don't want to make Jordan Love look too good.
He's going to outshine me.
That's not what he's doing.
He's like, what do I have to do so that the Green Bay Packers walk out of here with the win today?
And that's what he's doing.
Whether you like it or not.
And Kevin O'Connell, on the other side, Minnesota Vikings fan, you can do a lot worse.
The thing that may cost Kevin O'Connell his job is the decision to walk away from Sam Darnel
and play J.J. McCarthy.
And I said it before.
It was a mistake.
And I don't want to keep beating a dead horse
because it's not fair to J.J. McCarthy,
but he's been put in an unfair situation,
which I said, when you go in and you have a 14 and three season
and your fans start to flirt with the idea of winning a Super Bowl.
They start flirting with it, Mitchell.
And then that quarterback struggles in the playoff game,
and they go home early.
they have such negative thoughts about that quarterback because of how it ended.
And they say, man, we need somebody to take us to the next level.
They're so desperate to get to the next level that they take five steps back
and they don't even realize it because they think different is better.
They don't think better is better.
They think different is better.
So they find hope and different instead of understanding,
hey, San Donald has been putting a tough situation with an offensive line
that was struggling all season long.
he got pressure.
He didn't play in a good game.
He got beat by a better team.
Come back.
Revamp your offensive line.
Work on that because that's the reason why he was under such duress.
And go at it again.
And let your young quarterback who you drafted in the first round develop.
But you thought different was better.
So now you got a young quarterback with unrealistic expectations from the team,
from the fans, no matter how much they screen patience,
patience, just be patient with the kid. You have unrealistic expectations and then you have
unrealistic expectations of an offensive line that you try to improve. Now you've lost
Darisol, who's arguably your best, best offensive lineman. You're going to put this
quarterback behind a patchwork offensive line now that Sam Donald had to deal with all season
last year and turn it into 14 wins. But now they're the problem and that's the reason.
the quarterback's not developing.
And now Kevin O'Connell doesn't know how to call a game
when he's protecting a young quarterback
from having a worse outing than he would have
if he didn't protect him
because he doesn't want you guys jumping down his throat.
And all I'm saying in this is
he's not playing well enough
and he wasn't going to play well enough
in the first place. There was nothing that he did at Michigan.
Just because he won a national championship
does not mean he's an NFL starting caliber quarterback.
I'm sorry that quarterbacks have won national
championships and not been.
Nothing.
And then you could do the Tom Brady comparison all you want, but Tom Brady got taken in the
sixth, not top ten.
He wasn't productive in that way.
He played well enough in big games.
He did not turn the ball over.
He did not throw the game away so that Michigan won the national championship.
He's a fine human being, I'm sure.
But we're talking about the football player, and the football player is not prepared for
this moment.
So no matter what you guys want to say, that's the truth of the matter.
And he could have benefited from another year of sitting behind a NFL quarterback,
which Sam Donald has proven himself to be and is continuing to prove himself to be in Seattle.
They're now eight and three.
So that's the part that's frustrating to me is that everybody's turning on these coaches.
When we were just talking about Kevin O'Connell being a quarterback whisper,
him and McVeigh and Shanahan are the guys that,
turn quarterbacks who nobody wanted into Cinderella's.
But now they're saying, oh, he's not good enough.
He doesn't make good enough decisions in coaching.
Like he made the decision.
Who made the decision to go from Darnold to, was that a team decision?
Who did that?
You know, because you go from 14 wins to potentially picking in the top 10 of the draft.
Richard, they got greedy.
Bottom line.
They looked at money.
They said, do we pay Sam Darnold this amount of money?
Do we get a rookie contract, or a quarter?
a quarterback on a rookie contract and run this thing out for the next four years.
Then we're in our Super Bowl window.
They got greedy.
14 and 3 wasn't good enough.
Like you said,
different was better in their eyes.
I love that analogy.
And unfortunately for the Vikings,
it's going to take a while from them to regroup and reload
if J.J. McCarthy's looking like this.
Let's stay in the NFC North, Richard.
These Chicago Bears are 8 and 3 under Ben Johnson.
That is wild.
Expectly after the shalacking they took it.
in Detroit losing by 20 plus points, given a 52 points in Ford Field.
They've gone on this absolute unbelievable run, capped off with a three-point win
against the Pittsburgh Steelers today.
And I know the Steelers, you know, aren't the best team in the world,
but they're competitive, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
The Chicago Bears give up a defensive touchdown, JJ Waugh with a great strip sack in the end zone.
And the Steelers looked like they were going to win this thing.
And kudos to Caleb Williams.
I mean, I know he's taking a lot of heat.
He's in a strong market in Chicago,
but he's risen to the occasion,
239 yards, three touchdowns.
You know, DJ Moore had a nice game with two touchdowns.
They drafted Kyle Munangai out of Rutgers,
who's really looked like that hammer that they need
running between the tackles.
What do you think of the Chicago Bears team?
Eight and three, do you think that they are, you know,
legitimate contenders in the SNFC,
or are they just a feel-good story?
Well, it's so hard to gauge who they are because so many of these games, they've started all so slow and made fourth quarter comebacks and battled back and just scratched and clawed their way.
But 11 games in, they're 8 and 3.
And we get to have them this week.
We get to have them this week, our next week, Friday on the Black Friday game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
That'll tell the story.
Going against the reigning Super Bowl champs,
you're 8 and 3, Philadelphia for everything they've done this season.
Looks like they'll win this game.
They're blowing the Dallas Cowboys out, 21-0 right now.
They got a chance next week to prove it
versus the reigning Super Bowl champs
who've been having a really strong season of their own
could be a potential eight, you know,
eight and three team versus a 9-and-2 team,
which is an incredible matchup,
late in the season.
And we'll see because Caleb Williams has one of his better games this season.
19 to 35, 239, three touchdowns.
He did have the fumble.
But Menung guy, 12 carries 48 yards in a touchdown.
DJ Moore, two touchdowns in the game.
Believe it or not, they're first in your NFC North.
And they're looking like one of the most consistency.
I mean, they're winning.
I can't say the most consistent team because nobody's consistent.
But the fact that they're in it and they're developing and they're finding ways to win
and close out ball games, they're building winning habits in Ben Johnson's first year.
And that's what you want to see if you're a Chicago Bears fan.
I'm sure they're tired of getting a heart attack every game.
But if you're going to get a heart attack every game and come out with a win, they can live with it.
And they got another win.
Soldier Field. Obviously, the Steelers were without the Hall of Famer.
They were without the Hall of Famer, Aaron Rogers, but who knows when he's going to come back.
And Mason Rudolph, 2431, 171, one touchdown, one interception, fumble with the football.
Kenneth Gamewell had an incredible play on a fake tush push.
That was a really, really cool play.
And I think more teams are going to find ways to run similar versions of that play,
it was so effective.
But that defense had played well the last few games,
and they didn't play well today.
You know, Caleb Williams had his way.
So I think the Bears believe they can play with anybody.
We'll see how true that is,
but they've found a way.
And I look forward to them playing the Eagles
and then the Green Bay Packers.
And after those two games,
we'll have another conversation about
if they're truly legitimate contenders,
because those two teams they're going to play
in the next two weeks
or legitimate contenders.
And the Steelers are going to have to find a way
to beat the Buffalo Bills
and beat the Baltimore Ravens.
Both teams fighting for their playoff lives.
That's why I love the end of the season,
because so many things can happen.
You know who the Chicago Bears
played the last week of the season, Richard?
The Detroit Lions.
They sure do.
These NFL script writers have it down pat.
I mean, before we leave this game,
if I were to tell you that the Chicago Bears
would be eight and three under Ben Johnson
in his first year.
How shocked would you have been at the beginning of the season?
I'd be really shocked.
I'd be really shocked.
That's right.
On a scale of 1 to 10, my shock level would be at a 7.7.
Because usually in the first year after a team struggles the way they did last year,
you're not expecting them to know how to win games,
to know how to close out games,
especially in a strong division like the NFC North.
You're thinking, hey, three of these teams won, what, 12 games like?
year or so three playoff teams.
You got the Minnesota Vikings won 14 games.
The Detroit Lions looked like a juggernaut.
The Green Bay Packers get Micah Parsons and look like the freaking,
it looked like a team that's worn to go to a Super Bowl.
And then you look up in 11 games in, the bears are at top of the division.
You would have, you color me crazy.
Let's talk about another team that has shocked the world.
this New England Patriots are now 10 and 2, Richard, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals.
The expectation was then for to win this game.
And it came down to the wire since he had the ball late in the red zone.
Could have had an opportunity to score and go ahead for the win.
Credit to Drake May and this New England Patriots team, they got down early.
It was similar to the Lions game, got down early, gave up a pick six.
I believe they were down 10 points early on, and they came back.
Took care of the bangles who were without Jamar Chase.
Um, your thoughts on this New England Patriots team.
They, they were tested over the last couple weeks with better opponents.
And they're going to be playing the Giants next week.
Their schedule is just kind of soft.
Do you believe this team is a true AFC contender?
I believe they sit as the number one seed right now, if I'm not mistaken.
I think they're the only 10 win team, um, out there.
And, and that's the biggest part.
They're the only 10 win team in the NFL right now.
And so, yeah,
Give them all the criticism you want for having a schedule,
but that's not in their control.
If we're going to criticize them,
criticize them for the things that are in their control,
but there is not a lot to criticize this team about
because they're winning.
And every big test they've had,
whether it's the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo,
they've passed.
They beat the Buffalo Bills in Buffalo.
They beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,
an offense that you expected to be able to challenge these guys
and challenge Mike Brable's defense.
Even the Bengals, the Bengals.
Flacco's been lighting it up this year.
Obviously, they're without Jamar Chase
and because of the suspension for spitting on Jalen Ramsey,
they lost T. Higgins in the game.
They lost a lot of players in this game.
But give the Patriots credit,
they are winning in the culture
and the way Mike Vrable is winning
and the way that he's speaking confidence in his players,
all these castoffs they have on his defense,
the way Christian Gonzalez is playing,
the way all these guys are playing,
you got guys like Chase on,
who was a former first round pick
that the Jacksonville Jaguars let go and let walk away.
You got guys that have played other places
and been let go, and they came here,
and Mike Grable gave him a shot.
He's only playing with guys who have,
bought into his culture.
He said that.
That's the reason they traded away.
Keon White to the San Francisco 49ers.
And these guys, you could see it after every game, after every win or loss,
he's given a hug to every single player as they entered a locker room.
He's not, he's not just talking to talk.
He's walking to walk.
He's out there.
Guys understand they respect how high of a standard he holds his team to.
And I think that's the important part.
that's the part of football
that's beyond
X's and O's, being a motivator,
being a leader of men,
being a person that can take
clay and molded
into something special, that can take
a man and really
push him to achieve
his highest peak potential.
And that's what I think Mike Rable
is getting. And that's the part of the New
England Patriots that I can believe in
is that these players
believe something that the rest of the world does not.
they believe they're Super Bowl contenders.
And if they can,
and if,
if Mike Braybill is getting these men to believe that each and every week,
they're going to be a tough out in the playoffs
because it's tough to believe and get a team to believe something that they,
they don't.
Like, it's tough to tell them that they can't be champions
when they believe they can.
And they go out there at work.
And they've seen this formula work out of 12 weeks.
They've seen it work 10 times.
and Drake May hearing MVP chance this season in every stadium he's gone to.
That means something.
A guy who's developing into an elite quarterback in the National Football League before your eyes.
They're starting to develop a run game.
Hunter Henry has his best game in the season.
Seven catches for 115 yards in a touchdown, the defense, an interception in the sack.
They've won nine games straight for the first time since 2015 when you know who was playing quarterback.
then the same guy who played quarterback in New England for the last couple of decades
before everything kind of fell apart.
It's hard for me to root against this team, Mitchell.
They got the Baltimore Ravens.
I mean, they got the New York Giants next.
And you of all people can speak to that team and how, you know,
the record doesn't speak to how good of a team that is
and how much of a challenge that's going to be.
But I think the Patriots are going to feel good.
They're going to be favored next.
game. No question about it. If they keep at this pace, Richard, they're going to get the one
seed and then they're going to be able to prove to the world whether they truly belong or not. I mean,
Cam Newton called the Patriots run Fool's Gold. And I think that's easy on its surface to say that
based on the schedule. But the reality is, I mean, this team coming from who they were the last
couple of years to who they are now, I don't think you can call it Fool's Gold. I think this team has
showed true toughness, resilience.
And Mike Vrable is at the forefront of that, like you said.
I'm a believer in the Patriots.
Whether it's this year or not, I think they're going to be in that true contender category
for the next five to 10 years as long as Drake Mays around.
They found themselves a real one at quarterback, and they've got a great head coach.
I'm loving what I'm seeing in New England.
Let's talk about the Baltimore Ravens.
Hey, it's us, the Jonas brothers.
And guess what?
We have some big news.
What's the news, name?
Huge news.
We created our own podcast called Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
Pretty, yeah, pretty wide range of podcasts throughout there.
But this one's extra special.
So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
Well, we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band.
Before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast,
where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad,
Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

Let me just speak on Cam Newton's Fool's Go, because I like Cam Newton.
I like what he's been able to manufacture in his post-playing career.
I think he's a good analyst and he does some really fun things.
But Fool's Gold is just such a lazy and short-sighted take.
You know, it's like, oh, they had an easy record, so they're not playing well.
Like, I need context.
I need, I need you to help me understand.
If you told me the bears were fools gold, I'd say, I don't know about that.
But I could see, you say, hey, they were down in majority of their games.
They were losing in majority of their games.
Sure, they found a way to come back.
But is that sustainable in the playoffs?
I'm not sure.
We'll see.
But I want to see, I wish he would have expounded on what about them is fools' goal.
Is it just because you don't think they're talented enough of team
and that their easy record has been a mirage?
So their wins are a mirage.
Like this is a national football league.
And this season, more than any season in recent memory,
has shown parity in the national football league.
Anybody can beat anybody.
We watch the Miami Dolphins beat the Buffalo Bills.
We watched the Giants beat the Philadelphia Eagles.
Like anything can happen on any given Sunday in a national football league, especially this year.
So when he says it's fools gold, it's hard for me to support that without context,
without you saying that, hey, fundamentally they're flawed because of this.
They're playing good defense.
They're playing sound defense.
Offensively, Drake May is playing really good football.
It's not like, hey, they're getting a lot of tip passes,
and he's just getting lucky, lucky play here.
and there, or they're living off yak or something like that,
they're playing in a sustainable way in a way that you can sustain and play off football.
So when he says, the fools go, I just can't, I don't see it that way.
And not to mention they got Trayvion Hederson, the rookie running back at Ohio State,
who's really come on in the last couple of weeks.
They now have a ground game to back Drake May.
So I'm with you, Richard.
I like the Pats.
We'll see how they do the rest of the season.
We'll see how they fare against, you know,
true competition if that's what Cam Newton wants to see.
But now let's talk about this Ravens team.
They started the season off 1 in 5.
A lot of people, including myself, were wondering if they were out.
They were going to lose this division.
I thought there was too much to overcome.
That didn't take long.
Five weeks later, and they're now back on top of the AFC North.
That did not take long at all.
I know this is an easy question to answer,
but is it safe to say that the Baltimore Ravens are going to win this division now?
I don't know.
No, it's not safe to say.
Nothing's safe in the National Football League right now.
So no, it's not safe to say they're going to win the AFC North,
regardless of how well they've played.
Five straight congratulations.
That's really great.
But their next game is the Cincinnati Bengals,
and then they fight a Pittsburgh Steelers.
They control their own destiny.
Now, can they go in there and beat the Bengals and beat the Steelers?
Sure.
Can they lose to the Steelers and lose to the Bengals?
It wouldn't surprise me either.
way. This is going to be a struggle towards the end of the season for a lot of teams. It's going to
be a grind. I don't think there's any givens right now for any team. So I'm looking forward to
to way this plays out because there's no predicting anything. If it was predictable, then, you know,
people wouldn't watch the NFL in the way they do. I think the reason the ratings are breaking
records is because every team in every game, you feel like they have a chance. Sure, there are some
blowouts. There are some games that get out of hand
early. But for the most part, this
season, even teams
that seem overmatched are
undermanned in these games
go out there and compete and
potentially upset the other team.
So I don't know.
Because do the Bengals show up in a big
way and throw, or does Flacco
turn the ball over? Or are they going to
play against Joe
Burrell? Is he going to make his debut
versus the Baltimore Ravens? There are so
many different storylines. And teams have
given up on the season. So the Ravens should be proud of what they've done. But there were some
plays. Obviously, there's some rust still being knocked off for Lamar Jackson. He was 13 to 23 for 153.
He didn't look phenomenal and fantastic in this game by any stretch of imagination. Sure, they won
the game because their defense forced to fumble, got three sacks, another interception. They
played well enough and put enough pressure on the Jets and Tyrod Taylor to win this game.
But this is the Jets.
They've won two games on the season.
They haven't looked great the entire season.
They traded away their two best players at the trade deadline.
So I don't know if this is a barometer for what the Ravens can be.
And I'm not sure the Ravens, you know, with Jamar Chase being back, they'll be different.
And potentially Joe Burrell being back, they'll make it a game, no question about it.
But no, I don't think you can count this division done at all.
What a day, Metro for Shador Sanders.
He gets his first start and obviously perfect timing.
Perfect time.
I don't know if you heard the song, Mitchell, but they were playing it during the broadcast.
Perfect timing.
It got to feel good to have your own song.
Playing, why are you playing?
Your Hall of Fame dad in the stands watching you ball out.
Had a number of explosive passes in the game.
Did throw an interception that he's going to want back an easy play to fix.
He didn't look off the hook defender, the buzzer.
buzzer hooker, whatever you want to call him,
but he didn't look him to the flat.
Guy read his eyes, threw it right to him.
But that can be corrected.
The Browns did some weird things in the game with Judkins.
I mean, it worked out.
He got two touchdowns in the game,
but a lot of Wildcat taking the quarterback off the field.
Most quarterbacks get pretty frustrated with that.
But Chodor Sanders was 11 or 22-0-9,
a touchdown and interception,
and was only sacked once.
He had a screen pass.
that went for about 60 yards to Samson.
Jerry Judy caught one of his explosive passes
and just looked way too nonchalant,
fumbled to football.
Miles Garrett, though.
Miles Garrett breaks the single-season sack record
for the Cleveland Browns with 17.
He ended up with 18, his 18, getting his 18th sack.
He had three sacks, two force fumbles.
The defense had 10.
10 sacks in the game.
I mean, they beat, they beat poor Gino up in this game.
Gino was 27 to 41, 248, a touchdown, but sack 10 times.
I mean, he's going to be a nice tub all next week, I would imagine.
But if you're a Browns fan, if you're a Chador fan, if you're a Chador enthusiast,
because there's only, you know, he's so polarizing.
I guess the subject of Chador is so polarizing, that you're either, you love him and
you'll support him no matter what or you're waiting for him to fail and everything you're
critical of and you think he's bad and you're waiting for him to make the big mistake and you
don't think this is good enough to start for the Browns and you think that they should start
dealing Gabriel whenever he gets healthy enough to play. But if I'm on the outside looking
in, semi-objectively, because I mean, I'm not objective. I'm a Dion fan, so I'm a Shador fan. I was
watching him at Colorado. But I can see it if he played bad.
why you wouldn't want him to play.
But it just seemed like he brought a different element to the team.
You could just see it on Miles Garrett face when he completed the long pass
that should have been a touchdown that led to their second touchdown of the game.
He just, he was in disbelief.
I mean, you're talking about Miles Garrett being in disbelief.
It's crazy.
But I feel like the team played inspired football.
They played with hope.
They played excited.
They were excited to be out there.
Not that the Browns being three and eight have much of anything to play for.
But I definitely think this earns Shador Sanders another start.
No question about that.
I think you get better with reps and he needs more reps.
He needs to get out there.
He needs to take his chances.
It looks like he's just, he really wants to push the ball down the field every single chance he gets.
They protected him pretty well.
Jerry Judy is going to have to not fumble the ball in that situation so he can continue drives.
Judkins is going to continue the success he's had.
And who knows?
The Browns play the 49ers next.
That's a big game for both sides.
A game of 49ers are going to need to have.
They play the Carolina Panthers tomorrow, as we know, which is a huge game.
If they can win that game, this is going to end up being a really, really pivotal game for them.
and they'll have to deal with Shador Sanders and all that means.
So I'll say this.
Congratulations to Shadour Sanders on his first NFL touchdown,
even if it's a screen that goes for 60 yards.
Hey, you get it how you live.
It ends up being a 60-yard pass for a touchdown.
Fun game for him.
I look forward to seeing him.
It's exciting when he's part of the game,
and he's part of the discussion, whether you love him or hate him.
It's good for football, and it's good for the Browns.
And the Browns get their third winning,
season against the Raiders who will continue to struggle.
Look like they're going to pick top three in the draft this year.
No question about that.
Hopefully they don't fire my guy, Pete Carroll.
Please don't fire him.
Please don't fire Pete.
It ain't his fault.
It's not a great team.
I'm biased.
You're not wrong, Richard.
Don't fire Pete.
Don't put him, you know, don't make him the sacrificial lamb out there.
Richard, before we leave this game, we've got to talk about Miles Garrett.
You said it.
Franchise record best 18 sacks.
through 11 games. He's on pace for almost 28 sacks this season, Richard. That is mind-boggling.
Where does he stack up in your mind against the all-time pass rushers in this league? Is he nearing
the top of the list at this point? I mean, if he goes against 28-saxed season, he's going to make
the name. He's going to make the decision easy for a lot of people. And again, I hate the whole
conversation about who's the best all time when I didn't watch the other guys play? And I'm not going to
not that those other guys weren't great, and Reggie White, and obviously Lawrence weren't
great players, but I didn't get to watch them, you know.
And so I can say recognize their greatness and how everybody else, the esteem they're
talked about and things like that, but I didn't get to watch them play.
And so the guy I'm watching play, the sack record, I think, is 22, maybe 22 and a half.
I think Jay J.J. Watt tied it one year.
And so if Miles Garrett beats it by five and a half sacks,
that, I mean, that's silly territory.
On a team that's rarely leading,
usually you get that if a team's, you know,
your team's always up and you get the pass rush every game
and you get the, Mitchell, his team's always in a dog fight,
or they're losing.
It's rarely a time where Miles Garrett is just getting a pin his ears back.
Hey, we're out two touchdowns.
Let's go after him.
They got a pass, obvious past situations,
but he's just one of the most dominant players in the National Football League
in the history of the National Football League.
So you tell me, Mitchell, you tell me.
I guess time will tell, but he's obviously one of the best to ever play this game.
No question about it.
And then finally, Richard, we had a lot of good games today,
but this one might have been one of the best of them.
Dallas, down 21 in the first half, comes back in shocking fans.
and upsets Philly, 24 to 21 with a walkoff, Brandon Aubrey field goal to end the game.

Richard, these cowboys look a lot better than they have in the last few weeks.
George Pickens looks like he's got a Pro Bowl season brewing.
Javante Williams, career resurgence in Dallas,
and Dak Prescott looks like he's having fun out there again.
The Cowboys are five, five and one right now,
and it seems Jerry Jones's midseason trade has helped this team.
Are you starting to see the light with Jerry's moves right now?
Yeah, you can see the vision, no question about it,
but I guess the big story is the offense.
You got to give the defense credit.
not allow the Philadelphia Eagles to score a point in the second half. That should be applauded.
That should be celebrated. That's a huge deal for the Super Bowl champs not to score a point in the
second half. But the offense, you're talking about George Pickens. You're talking about a pro-bowl caliber
season. I'd be really surprised if he's not a pro bowler and maybe he'd get a couple of all-pro
votes just because it's the Dallas Cowboys. It's one of the biggest markets in the world.
He's playing really good football. He's playing good.
in big moments.
And if this team can scratch and claw their way back into playoff contention,
that'd be huge.
Dak Prescott, 23 or 36, 354, two touchdowns.
He did have the one interception.
But again, this is what Dak Prescott is capable of.
The concerning part for the Dallas Cowboys, honestly, has been C.D. Lamb and them able
to have this success with C.D. Lamb having seven registered drops in the last two games.
He had three in this game, including one in the end zone.
So them being able to overcome those issues and play as well as they have,
especially in the second half and able to capture this momentum against the reigning Super Bowl champs,
the division rival in Dallas.
You could hear the fans into it the entire game, a season that looked like it was lost early on.
It's starting to look like they may have a chance.
We'll see how it continues to progress.
But for the Philadelphia Eagles,
this game started off as a dream scenario
and then slowly but surely deteriorated.
You look up and you say,
AJ Brown has been really frustrated.
They got him involved early.
He had a touchdown early on,
got his yardage,
end up with eight catches for 110 yards,
and the touchdown,
you feel really good about that.
You felt really good about how much
they got AJ Brown involved.
Again, Sey Juan Barkley, non-existent,
10 carries for 22 yards, that doesn't make a lot of sense.
And that has to be soft.
Is it the offensive line?
You've got to give Dallas credit because they got some run stoppers now.
They got some run stoppers.
Quentin Williams is not getting moved out of there.
They're not getting moved out of there very easily.
They got guys who can detackers that are great against the run.
I mean, great against the run.
They're stout.
They can pass rush.
But Sequan Barkley only getting 10 carries for 22 yards is going to be
the issue. That'll be the Achilles heel that ends and dooms the Philadelphia Eagles this season
if they do not get that corrected. And again, Kevin Petulow, these are questions he's going to have
to answer. When they had Kellyn Moore, not that he's perfect, but the offense ran. It hummed.
You talked about offensive player at a year. Sequin Barclay. You were talking about Jalen Hertz's
potential MVP candidate. Jalen Hertz had a really good game, 27 and 39, 289 a touchdown. He was only
sacked once in the game, but it was a huge sack on third down by a diggy Zua, a play that they
needed on a, I think this was their last drive of the game, which allowed, which forced them to punt,
and I gave the Dallas Cowboys a chance in this game to go down and kick the game-winning field goal,
which they did. I don't know what the answers are, but I know that the Philadelphia Eagles are
playing on Black Friday, and they got the Chicago Bears coming into town.
Both teams are eight and three.
It's got to be the game in a week.
It's the matchup I'm most excited for a Chicago team so eager to prove itself
and a Philadelphia Eagles team that's got a lot of turmoil,
and I'm sure that this will not help what's going on in that locker room.
No question about it.
And let's be real.
The number one seed's up for grabs at this point, too, in that game.
So, you know, this is a huge game for both.
teams. We talked about it off air, but the Eagles, you know, kind of fell apart in that second
half, up 21-0, and Dallas Cowboys just kind of leaned on them and leaned on them, and finally
they broke, giving up 18 points in that fourth quarter. And you express concerns about the
D-line, the interior of the D-line for the Philadelphia Eagles, and they're overuse. The amount of
time that they're playing. What do you make of this? The lack of depth at the defensive tackle
position for the Philadelphia Eagles?
It's concerning.
And every one of their losses, you could see that's the issue.
In the fourth quarter, that's where they give up a majority of their points because
they're playing Davis and Carter too much.
Usually when you're talking about deep tackles, you talk about 65% of the plays, maybe 70%
of the plays.
There's a good rotation.
You put other guys in there.
You spell them sometimes.
But these guys are playing a very high percentage of the plays for Philadelphia Eagles.
They're wearing down by the fourth quarter in a lot of these games.
Not because they're out of shape or because, oh, man, they're not ready for these moments.
They're probably in the best shapes of their lives, and they're playing at a high level for a majority of these games.
But you cannot expect guys that big to play that much.
It's just how it's just been proven in the NFL for so long.
You've got to have some depth.
You've got to rotate them in and out.
Allow them to get breathers, allow them to get rest so they can be strong and healthy and fresh in the fourth quarter.
And that's not what's happening for the Philadelphia Eagles.
So a lot of these games that you see are coming down to the wire.
And although Jalen Carter and Davis are making plays down the stretch,
they are playing a lot of snaps.
And you cannot expect them to be as dominant as they would be
if they had a little bit more rest and they were a little fresher.
But you can tell the Philadelphia Eagles don't trust the other guys
that they would be bringing in.
And that's why they're forced to play that much.
hopefully they can get it figured out
but again the trade deadlines pass
there aren't really any big time free agents
I'm sure out there that they feel good about
so this is how it's going to be but that's
right now the biggest issue for
the Philadelphia Eagles is
they're not able to get the same
pass for us the same
the same stoutness
against the run on the interior
defensive line because they're so worn down
late in these games and you look at the
Denver Broncos game they scored 18
unanswered points in the fourth
after not, after scoring, I believe, seven the entire game through three quarters.
And then you look at this game and the Cowboys score 10 unanswered and go on to win this game.
And again, you've got to find a way to spell these guys and allow them to be fresher in the fourth quarter and also find some offense.
All odds and lines come from our partners at Hard Rock Bet.
we've got the Panthers versus the 49ers on Monday night football tomorrow.
Hart Rock bet has the 49ers at seven point spread in this game.
I think the San Francisco 49ers, it's going to be a little closer than that.
This is going to be a field goal game, Mitchell, in my opinion,
just because of the way Bryce Young played in the last game,
especially near the end,
the way he was able to come on.
The chemistry he's building with Tetrault and McMillan
and Rico Dowell.
Rico Dado is starting to show himself as a really good runner in this league and has taken over as their number one back.
It's going to be a closer game than you might think.
Richard, I can't pick a better time to debut this hat.
Take a look at this bad boy, man.
I like that one.
Crispy, right?
Crisp.
Yeah.
Well, it's because I got the Niners winning.
I got the Niners covering, too.
I know you think that it's going to be a tighter game, you know, within seven points.
I got the Niners covering that spread.
I also have Christian McCaffrey continuing his dominance,
scoring the first TD of the game.
Plus, Rico Dowdell, holy cow, like you said,
what a resurgence from this guy,
cast off from the Dallas Cowboys,
comes over behind Chubba Hubbard in Carolina
and is taken over that backfield.
I think he's going to score a touchdown as well.
And here's a bonus.
I think Brian Robinson, Jr. gets a TD as well.
I mean, they've been giving him the ball inside that.
five-yard line. I expect
Brian Robinson to get another one.
Carolina has given up 13
red zone rushing touchdown this year, Richard.
So there's your helpful hint
with Brian Robinson to score.
Richard, big news
in San Francisco. Everyone was
waiting for the comeback of Brandon
Ayuk. Well, I don't think
that's going to happen. It looks like they're parting
ways. How
stunning of a move is this?
Are you shocked by this or is this
something that you saw coming?
Unfortunately, I had a little bit more inside information, so it's not as shocking for me.
But it's shocking that it's going to play out this way because this scenario at this point in the season helps nobody.
And I'm not blaming any particular person.
I'm not blaming BA.
I'm not blaming the 49ers, et cetera.
But I think BA coming back and doing his best to play as well as, you know,
he can helps the San Francisco 49ers and it helps Brandon I.
I think the position of Brandon I.
you're not playing anymore this season and the San Francisco 49ers not like that
doesn't help anybody.
If B.A. doesn't play this season and he gets cut at the end of the year, that does
nothing to help anybody. And I think if he doesn't play, that's the most likely
scenario. But I just don't understand why that would be the case.
why you would make that decision as a player.
And everybody has their own reasons for reasons for doing things.
But if you're a player and you won out, I don't agree with this.
I don't want to help this team.
That's understandable, but your interests are aligned, unfortunately.
You doing good.
You doing well helps the team do well.
The team doing well and you doing well helps everybody.
It helps increase your value so that if you do want to go to another team,
They don't want to trade you.
They don't want to trade for you instead of you getting cut and your salary going away
and then signing you to a much lower deal where you make a lot less money
and it will take you a lot more time to make the same amount of money you would have made
if you were able to just stay on the contract you're on.
So if you're Brandon Ayuk and you're like, hey, I don't want to help this team,
okay, but helping them helps you.
So going out there and being the best part,
possible receiver you can be showing that you are the receiver that that that you were when
the San Francisco 49ers paid you 30 million dollars a year only helps your case even if you want to
go somewhere else. But sitting out does not. Sitting out put your pride before your pocket.
And if you put your pride before your pocket, that's something I cannot understand because it
doesn't help your family. It doesn't help you. And it doesn't help the point you're trying to
prove. And so that's the point I don't get. Hopefully, hopefully he's able to get out there and play
and show what he can do and either continue with the San Francisco 49ers or get traded and be
able to make the money that he deserves somewhere else because I always want the guys to make the
money that they, that they've earned. And I never want to see a situation where a guy is giving
money back. Well, as always, guys, we appreciate you joining us. You can be anywhere in the world,
but you're here with us, and we're sure do appreciate it. We'll see you tomorrow night after the San Francisco

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
