That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode,
we're cutting through the noise,

And we're going straight to the source,
the athletes themselves,
their locker room stories, their reactions in the moment,
and the stuff nobody gets to hear.

Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smigel and friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel,
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

And one hour from now, my blazing five picks, seven weeks, six winners, on fire.
Love my picks.
A couple you won't believe, but I love my picks this week.
And Joy Taylor is joining me on a night.
Houston had it and lost it.
It must have been painful.
It was one game.
It was one game.
I'm not going to react to it.
But I will say, bucks look good.
Bucks are good.
Yeah.
Let me start with this.
If you had a company of 3,000 people and you had different campuses,
you had some of them in Charlotte, some of them in Rhode Island,
some in Chicago, some in Phoenix, some in Idaho,
you could have 30 bad employees and they may never meet each other.
One bad guy's here, one bad guy's there.
But if you had a company of nine people and they all worked in the same space,
one bad egg, one bad relationship blows it up.
That's why I've always said in the NBA, chemistry is so crucial in the NBA.
Mello, his mere existence, he was an agitator, wouldn't play defense.
Chauncey Billups, the ultimate lubricator, not a great player.
Every team he goes to got better.
Hardin in Westbrook is going to be problematic.
First of all, their styles don't mesh.
They don't mesh.
They're both ball-centric, high usage, one and two in the league.
The other thing is, when they used to play together, they didn't have all this money.
And we all change.
Okay?
They weren't 500 million, 200 million net worth guys.
They weren't six homes guys.
They weren't MVP guys.
They are now guys who are known for scoring, trophies,
MVP's, style, fashion.
This is going to be tough.
This is going to be tough.
And chemistry in Houston is not good.
Don't listen to anybody.
This is an organization that claimed,
we're never trading Chris Paul.
Those are outrageous rumors.
please. Last night, Harden Westbrook, early on barking. Now, that's just one instance. It's not
the end of the world. It doesn't really matter. But the way they lost does, Yannis fouled out.
Best defensive player in the league? At home, their offense disintegrated. James Hardin,
was he overthinking? Didn't have a field goal in the second half. Was he overcompensating?
You know and I know Hardin off a terrible first game is going to make sure,
adamantly he has a great second game.
Then Russell Westbrook, perhaps overcompensates, backs off.
Listen, relationships are really important in the NBA.
That's why I've always said one of the great gifts of Magic Johnson,
who you just saw an undisputed or LeBron, they're great lubricators.
LeBron gets along with people.
Magic made everybody work.
You know, Kareem was kind of prickly, and Magic was fun,
and James Worthy was a little of both, and Magic made it all work.
Westbrook, everybody that plays with him, that leaves, gets better.
Doesn't mean he's a bad guy.
Doesn't mean he's a bad player.
But he's an agitator, not a lubricator as a teammate.
And Hardin similarly is not easy.
He's an MVP every year.
You think he's going to now off a terrible first game say, you know what, I'm going
to make this thing work.
No, he's going to say, I got to make James Harden work.
So I don't think it works.
Yon has fouled out.
and Houston was still against the third, fourth, fifth, sixth best player Milwaukee had couldn't score.
Now, Russell Westbrook, and again, they're overcompensating.
Westbrook, it's one game, it's already getting defensive on the whole hardened Westbrook thing.
The animation is, because I was talking about something, but don't deep, drive too much into it.
I got to told you, there's nothing that, no one.
everybody around the world, media, anybody to be able to get in between what we have because we had it for so long.
Listen, the reality is they know it's hovering over.
They know everybody's talking about it.
Why would you get this agitated game one with your best friend?
Doesn't that seem a little intense for really good friends?
Because they can feel the pressure.
And I like Houston.
Tillman Fertita's the owner.
I love him.
Daryl Morey is the GM.
I love him.
Here's the reality.
When we suggested Mello's not going to work, they told us it's working.
When we suggested Chris Paul needed to be traded.
He'll never be traded.
They traded him.
They're going to protect those two.
They got tickets to sell.
Houston's a transient sports town.
The Texans are good.
The Astros are good.
They got tickets to sell.
They want to make this thing optically work off the NBA China thing that was incredibly
rough for the organization.
But last night is exactly what I thought.
A little ugliness?
they're overcompensating.
It doesn't work collectively, but individually, Westbrook had some great moments,
and in the first half, Hardin had some great moments, and they're officially 0-1.
Let's move to this.
The Vikings beat the Redskins 19 to 9, and I don't trust Minnesota whatsoever.
Not a bit.
I don't care they won last night.
You know what?
I always feel like Kirk Cousins, the quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings,
has a lot in common with scary movies.
Environment matters.
Like, when I grew up, the scariest movie I saw was Exorcist, and then it was The Shining.
If you watch those at night, and it's rainy, and you by yourself, and you're in a room, and it's just you, it's terrifying.
You can't sleep at night.
But if you watch The Shining, the next day, one in the afternoon,
With the blinds open, the lights on, with two friends, it's actually funny.
You're like, this is screwy.
The environment changes how scary the shining is.
It's not that scary at one in the afternoon on a sunny day birds chirping in your door open.
But at night, those twins come around the corner.
What in, oh, Lord.
It's Kurt Cousins.
One o'clock, at home, non-playoff team.
Boy, he is unbelievable.
Here's Johnny.
But you play a night game like last night.
Against the good playoff team, against the real pass rush.
And you get it.
Here's Kirk.
It's last night.
Minnesota didn't punt.
Washington had to go to a backup quarterback.
They were at home.
But it wasn't a one o'clock start.
In the end, 19-9 over awful Washington.
banged up, backup quarterback on the road, fired their coach, all of that Minnesota talent.
I mean, again, great roster? Absolutely.
But this is the Minnesota team.
People have been telling me as a great roster for three to four years.
Find me Minnesota's great win with Kirk Cousins.
Find it for me.
Oh, they tied Green Bay at Lambo.
Aaron Rogers was hurt and they got a gift call on Clay Matthews.
I mean, the Saints this year alone with a backup.
quarterback have two impressive wins at Seattle and Dallas.
The Carolina with a backup quarterback won at Houston.
The Colts with Jacoby Brissette went to Kansas City and beat Patrick Mahomes and then beat
the Houston Texans.
That's Teddy Bridgewater.
That's Jacobi Brissette.
That's Kyle Allen with this roster and these receivers and Delvin Cook and find me the
impressive win.
I'm sorry.
This team is too.
environment-based, one o'clock, bad team, or facing a backup, or the minute you make this
team uncomfortable.
Last year, one and six against playoff teams.
This year, zero wins against teams over 500.
And last night was classic.
Primetime game.
Everybody's watching.
Offense didn't punt up against a backup that had recently fired their coach, and they
couldn't put them away until the very end.
couldn't put them away.
And I'm going to tell you what this team is.
Mike Zimmer is conservative by nature.
Kirk Cousins has one bad half, and these guys are going to be more conservative than the Republican convention.
They are going to just close it down.
You're going to have no offense.
And when you're in a conference now where you got Green Bay Hummon and the Saints with a backup humming and San Francisco Humman, New Orleans Humman,
Don't buy.
Dak, Dallas last week, humming, I don't buy them.
I just don't buy them.
Scary movies aren't scary at noon the next day.
Lights on.
No lightning.
Friends sitting next to you having lunch.
They're not.
And the Vikings are not scary in primetime games, home or away, out of the one o'clock window,
against a seven and two team, a 12 and four team, not scary at all.
All right, pack today.
You ever notice how something, sometimes you just have to admit something is great,
and it's better than you, but you're not used to this thing being better than you,
so it's really, really hard to embrace.
And that's coming up.
That thing is Kauai Leonard.
He's the game's best.
Get used to it.
He's the NBA's best player.
Get used to it.
Be sure to catch live editions of the Hurricanes.

Welcome to my...
new podcast, Learn the Hardway
with me, your host, and your favorite therapist,
Kear Games. And in recognition
of mental health awareness month, I'm bringing over
a decade of my own experience in the mental health
field and conversations with so many
incredible guests. I'm talking. Tripp Fontaine,
Ryan Clark. Sometimes
when we're in the pursuit of the thing,
we get so wrapped up in the chase
that we don't realize that we
are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done
enough. Because people scoreboard watch.
Life becomes about wins and losses.
Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
because you find it important to be a good person
while you hear on earth,
or are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.
Join me, Kear Gaines,
as we have real conversations about healing,
growth, fatherhood, pressure, and purpose

American soccer is about to explode.
The World Cup is coming.
Ramos sending on to Ernie Stewart.
I'm Tad Ramos.
I'm Tom Boe.
On our podcast, Inside American Soccer, you'll get the real storylines.
I'm not worried about Policic.
I'm not worried about Balligan.
I'm not worried about McKinney.
My only concern is what happens in the back.
The biggest decisions.
If you're going to look at stats and numbers,
he has no shot at making this World Cup team.
and the truth about the U.S. national team.
It wouldn't be a huge surprise if our team ends up in the quarterfinals
or potentially a great run into the semifinals.
The World Cup is almost here.

Michelin Endurance XT Silicon Wiper Blades,

Michelin Endurance, X-D, Silicon Wiper Blades.
Blazing 5 is
40 minutes from now.
Seven weeks, six winners.
Love my picks this week.
Like some underdogs this week.
I think it's a very good week for
underdogs in the NFL.
And I also think some teams are bailing at the
trading deadline and keep your eye
in some locker room stuff this week.
So the Clippers just beat LeBron
an AD right in
the Lakers building, if you will.
And last night, they opened
the Golden State new arena and the Clippers destroyed them.
And this is who they are.
I know it's a small sample, but it doesn't take a huge sample to figure something out.
The Clippers are going to be really, really good.
Just think about this.
In the NBA now, it's the year of the duo.
They have the best player, Kauai, maybe the best duo.
And three through 12, not a GM in the league would argue.
Clippers have the best three through 12 roster.
So they got the best player, I believe, Kauai.
they have maybe the best duo
because I do think LeBron and AD are better individual talents
but collectively won't be as good as Paul George and Kauai
and they have the 3 through 12
and they have a great Hall of Fame coach.
I know it's hard to embrace.
Kauai's the best player in the game and he's the most impactful.
LeBron's too old, can't play defense,
he got tired in game one,
Steph's too small, doesn't play defense,
hardens a one side of the court guy,
and I saw Yonis go up against Kauai Leonard in the playoffs.
Stop it already.
I saw Janice marginalized by Kauai Leonard.
He's the best player in the league, and he is the most impactful, and you got to get over it.
Now, I understand because of the Clippers' history, which is losing, and because Kauai is
boring, that's not what we're used to.
We're used to MJ, who was cool and hip, and the dress and the shoes and the smile and the
cheekbones.
It was perfect, right?
And as Kobe, he's flashy and Shaq and magic and bullshit.
bird and they all had nicknames and Kauai's got a mid-range jumper and he's really efficient
and he doesn't really need the ball to dominate and he wears new balance shoes and I'm in
my 50s and I don't even wear new balance shoes yet. I get it. I get the Clippers history is hard
to embrace. I get Kauai as hard to put your arms around. He's the best player. This is the best
roster and I think it's the best duo. Here's your next dynasty. A lot of times dynasties are
easy to see. Shaq and Kobe was easy to see. The Lakers had a history of putting in great teams.
You could see their talent. You're like, hey, go in a bunch of tiles. Troy Akeman, Emmett Smith,
Jimmy Johnson, and the Cowboys, the big coach, the big quarterback. They looked, he looked like an
NFL head coach. He looked like a Hall of Fame quarterback. Emmett Smith, the defense, and they'd had
dynasties before with Roger Staubback. A lot of dynasties you can see coming. Showtime Lakers,
Shaq and Kobe. I mean, you could see Dwayne Wade, LeBron James, Pat Riley, the architect,
building it. Chris Bosch comes over. You knew they were going to be really good. You knew when
Durant joined Clay and Steph. That's the easy one. This one's harder. Mid-range jumper, new
balance shoes, weird laugh, doesn't need the ball to dominate. This is the best player, probably the
best duo, easily the best roster, and one of the best coaches. And I'd argue a top five owner.
And I'd argue a top three scouting department. Put your arms around it.
Like what you're watching right now, this is, Paul George isn't even playing.
Paul George isn't even playing.
They didn't have Kauai last year.
They went 48 and gave the Warriors with KD problems.
Put your arms around it.
This is the next dynasty.
They're just called the Clippers.
And their star doesn't talk.
In a star-driven flashy league, he's like a dependable 32-mile-a-gallon car that never
breaks down. It's just
they're great. They're just
going to be great. You're
just not used to it. Joy with the news.
No, no, no, no, no.
Turn on the news. This is the
Heard Line News. Well, speaking at that game
last night, the Warriors suffered an embarrassing
loss to the Clippers in their first game
at the new Chase Center.
Team looks a lot different this year without
Kevin Durant, Andre Godala, and Sean Livingston
and Clay Thompson likely out for the
season. After the game, Steve Kerr
warned that the Warriors could have a lot more games like that going forward.
Oh, God.
I mean, this is not, you know, not a one-off.
It's, this is the reality.
There's going to be nights like this year.
This is more the reality of the NBA than, you know, the last five years we've been living
in a world that isn't supposed to exist.
That is not what you're supposed to say.
The night after loss in your brand new arena.
That is demoralizing.
Just think of the human capital you lost.
Kevin Durant, Clay, Sean Livingston, Henri de Guadala.
Now, I mean, these are also not only Andre Aguadala's leadership.
Finals MVP.
You could argue that he shouldn't have gotten it, but he did get it.
And even Quinn Cook, I was told, I think I told you this the other day on the show,
they have six NBA players.
And there are several guys on that roster who would be really excellent G-League players.
They have nine players, eight to three.
23 or younger on the roster.
They have no bench.
They have no bench.
But their whole game, like their whole style is finesse, precision,
moving the ball, communication, chemistry.
Everything with the Warriors has just worked, right?
Even Boogie Cousins.
Everyone thought it wasn't going to work.
They love him.
It was all just going to work, right?
And it was.
Like what he's saying, for the past five years,
they've been living in this alternate reality that's not supposed to exist.
With a lot of, like New England, smart veteran players, young guys come in briefly,
but now it's like Steph.
Right, but when that ends, when Belichick and Tom Brady are no longer in New England,
do New England fans realize that's not going to happen again?
Right.
You're not going to win a championship again, of course.
But that dynasty, that situation, that setup is unique.
It's never going to happen again in sports.
There's never going to be another Tom Brady.
There's never going to be another Bill Belichick.
And when you lose Kevin Durant, Andrea Godala, Sean Livingston,
and Clay Thompson is out for the year.
That's just too much to replace.
No one is coming back from that.
Just chemistry alone, you can't come back from that.
Because it's not that DiAngelo Russell is not a great addition to that team,
but it's chemistry.
Once the news came out that Clay wasn't coming back,
I also think in the locker room,
because I thought if Clay comes back, you know,
Willie Collie Stein, Tamon Looney,
Draymond, Clay, Steph, DeAngelo Russell,
one guy, Alfonso McKinney off the bench.
I'm like, oh, they'll end up a five seed.
When Clay announces I'm not coming back,
they have now six NBA players.
That's it.
That is it.
They are one injury away from being a bottom four team in the league,
bottom five team.
I mean, if Steph got hurt right now,
that's a bottom five team in the NBA.
It's a very harsh reality,
which is basically what Steve Kerr was saying.
So Jarvis Landry apparently did not learn anything from Doug Peterson's
win guarantee for the Eagles last week, although he didn't
technically use the word guarantee.
Technically, neither did Jarvis Landry.
The Browns wide receiver was asked about
Cleveland's chances against the undefeated patriots,
and he made a very bold statement.
Well, we're going to win. We're going to win.
I think it's just that simple. We're getting guys back
healthy again, and we're going to win.
Later, he tried to clarify that by saying he meant that
Browns were going there to win.
I don't want to beat him up for that. But the damage
was already done. Here's the thing.
The question he was asked is what is he, well, Rex Mayn is, you know, he's on the other end of the spectrum here.
But what he was asked was basically like, what did he expect from the team, right?
Or what did he expect from the Browns going into this game against the Patriots?
There's a million quarterback speak answers you can give to that.
Well, you know, we expect to go up there and play really hard.
You know, we hope to improve on the things that we did well last week.
Hopefully, you know, we can, you know, work on the chemistry and, you know, play our best game.
Next question.
There's a million different versions of a quarterback-speak answer that you can give in that situation.
If you say we're going to win, which I don't have a problem with this.
Like, if you want to do it, that's fine.
I just don't recommend you do it against the Patriots because, of course, Bill Belichick's whole team about it already.
And this is what they live for.
This is like, it's Patriots tackling fuel.
When you do this, that's what happens.
Don't give the Patriots any bulletin board material.
But I think this is why the public hates the media.
Like, Rex Ryan was obnoxious.
Rex was like, I guarantee you we're going to the Super Bowl.
I'll crush a guy for that.
This is sort of like, you're asked a question and you're like, we're going to win.
We're going to go in there and win.
I don't want to beat him up too hard.
I think that's just-
I'm not beating him up.
I'm just saying you know Bill Belichick is going to tell the team about it and use it as motivation,
which you didn't already need.
That's what it is.
There's nothing to beat up about it.
It's not like, I'm like, oh, what a joke.
they're going to win. They very well could win. Like, it's the NFL. This is not college.
Like, they very well could go win. I don't think that they will, but they very well could.
But when you say things like that when you're going against the Patriots, Bill Belichick is going to take advantage of that.
Like, it's probably posted around their locker room right now.
Speaking of the Patriots, they traded defensive end Michael Bennett to the Cowboys.
In return, they'll get a seventh round pick that can become a sixth rounder in 2021.
The trade comes after Bennett was suspended for Monday's game against the Jets for conduct detrimental to the team.
He got in an argument with the defensive line coach, Brett Bilema, and was upset over lack of playing time.
He said there's no love loss.
It is what it is after coming back from suspension.
This is his third trade in the last 18 months for Bennett.
Theeux of the Eagles, Eagles to the Patriots, Patriots to the Cowboys.
Well, he actually fits Dallas better than he does.
I mean, the Dallas gave up nothing for him.
Yeah, I mean, his seventh round pick.
And he actually is, he's kind of, he's not a super versatile guy.
So for Dallas, they just could use what he does.
New England tends to ask for more versatility with their players.
Right.
And I mean, once there's, for New England, I think this was just a situation of personalities
that have clashed too much and it's become too much of a distraction and that's not what New England does.
So, I mean, what do they care about, a seventh round pick?
So it's just more like, get something for him.
Yeah.
But I agree.
And I think his personality fits with the Cowboys better as well.
And they're not, they didn't give him much up.
And he's not very expensive either.
He's under contract with 2020, $2.61 million.
cap hit this year and he's $7 million
of base salary in 2020. By the way, it's not a lot.
Dallas made a trade last year.
Amari Cooper, much better player, but it
works. So when you've done something
in your life and it works, you're much more willing
to do it a second time. And again, they gave up a seventh round
pick. Yeah, there's no risk here.
No risk. It doesn't work out. No one's the wiser.
If he has one big sack
in a big game against Philadelphia
in Philadelphia, he's worth the move.
Absolutely. Because that seventh round pick probably
doesn't make the Dallas roster, which is
loaded full of good players. No, it makes sense.
both sides.
Good stuff. Joy with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Hurd Lie News.

It's a very, very interesting week.
You know, it's funny.
Danny Connell played for six years in the NFL.
He was a great college player.
Excellent, excellent opinionist,
who occasionally stops by our network.
Now he's doing X-M-M-M-M-M-
Mad Dog Radio and he's got a podcast with Raja Bell.
But it's interesting about chemistry.
Philadelphia, there's all these discussions about the locker rooms bad.
And, you know, before the season, we heard A-B, the Raiders' locker room was bad.
The Raiders seemed to be fine once he got out.
And now Detroit got rid of a safety and you hear the lion's locker room isn't good.
So you get to the part of the season now.
It's week eight.
Football gets cold.
It gets hard.
Guys are hurt.
They get cranky.
you start losing.
This is when locker room splinter.
Bill Belichick just said, Michael Bennett, you're out of here.
Josh Gordon, you're out of here.
Very interesting time in the NFL.
And let's go to Danny Canelvia, the Coward Global Satellite Network.
Live from New York, Danny, you played in this league.
In college, Danny, the coach runs the locker room.
But in the NFL, the coach and star players do.
I want to talk about Philadelphia.
You know, Danny, you've been in these locker rooms.
I hear some guys don't like Carson Wentz.
do. Orlando Scandrick was on undisputed this morning, said there's a lot. I hear Lane Johnson
talking about guys are missing practice. When you hear that, Danny, who do I blame? Is that a wince?
Is it a Doug Peterson? What's going on to you in Philadelphia? It's a collective. I think it is a
collective. I think it has to start with Doug Peterson as the head coach, who is a former player, is probably
a little bit more player friendly than most coaches across the league. And I think that's a reason why
he's had so much success in Philadelphia as well, but also it can be to his detriment.
And I think this team is really missing a voice, like a Chris Long presence, who was a veteran
in that locker room when they were making their Super Bowl run.
They need Carson Wentz to step up.
And Colin, I really feel like this is a seminal moment in Carson Wentz's career.
It's an opportunity for him.
When your backs are against the wall, when you maybe aren't that guy who's going to get in
everybody's face. This is an opportunity to get everybody in a room and say, you know what,
there have been too many distractions. We're hearing too many issues that are cropping up.
Let's put those to rest now because Doug Peterson can say it to the entire room. He can get up
there, but he's a coach. It has to come from the players level and specifically the quarterback.
This is a part of the position is stepping up, taking ownership of the adversity that's facing
this team and saying, you know what, we still have a chance to win our division. We are still
exactly where we need to be in the big picture,
but we can't keep tearing each other apart.
That's why I think Carson Wentz
has to step up in this locker room.
And he doesn't have to scream and yell.
He doesn't have to be something he's not,
but he has to send a clear message.
I'm the leader of this team,
and we need to turn this thing around.
I actually think this Buffalo game,
to your point, Danny, I think you're right.
I think this becomes the season.
I think if they go, I mean, remember,
Josh Allen's got seven TDs and seven picks.
Let's not make this Buffalo team into more than what they are.
Good coaching, good defense, limited offense.
So do you like Philadelphia this weekend to turn it around?
I do.
I actually do.
I like a lot of underdogs this weekend, but this is a scary proposition because I still think
they're a good football team.
And Carson Wentz has really struggled this year, but he's been getting beat up.
And I go back to the Atlanta game when he was just getting destroyed.
He's out there making these Superman type of throws while he's getting hit.
He goes into concussion protocol, comes back on the field and still finishes out that game.
this team has to start better.
In six of their seven games this season,
they've been double-digit
face double-digit deficits early in the games.
They're always playing from behind,
which is not a healthy recipe,
especially when we don't have it to Sean Jackson,
who really that deep threat has hurt this offense.
But I think if they can just keep it even early in this game,
don't fall behind.
I think this is the type of team backs against the wall.
I like them in this position playing on the road.
Let's shift to the Chicago Bears.
Trading deadline is Tuesday.
We now have young general managers, Danny.
You've seen this that are willing to make in-season moves.
We just saw Seattle go for a safety.
New England's willing to go get Muhammad Sunu, middle of the field, tough guy receiver.
I think Chicago, I think the defense is starting to resent Mitch Trubisky.
I would make a move now, move off him.
I think this roster is too good, Danny, to punt on the season.
I don't know who you call it.
Teddy Bridgewater, listen, once Drew comes back this weekend off a fluke injury, Teddy's
work is done in New Orleans.
I think Chicago has to go aggressively after Teddy Bridgewater.
What say you?
I hate giving you a lot of credit for good ideas, but I think this actually is a good idea.
And I've also been listening for your long time.
And I think I'm pretty sure you're one that has been of the belief.
And I have fallen into this belief as well.
You usually know what a starting quarterback is going to be by,
year three. And usually there's a massive jump. You know, first year you'll see some rookies. They'll
have a second year sophomore slump. But then they kind of go back to, all right, everything's
on track. You start seeing the play take off, better decision making, higher completion percentage.
It starts to pay off on the field. Instead, you've seen a regression out of Trubisky where he's
been worse this season. And there's a crisis of confidence, not only in him and his belief,
the team you mentioned, but I even noticed it somewhat with Matt Nagy in the play calling.
Just they are too tentative right now. And their defense is too good. And
There is a window which is closing rapidly for that defense.
You always want to take advantage when you have a generational type defense,
which really is what this defense has capability of doing.
I would call the Saints with Teddy Bridgewater.
Although the Saints might want to hang on to Bridgewater for the long term,
I would call the Jaguars with Nick Foles.
Although he's another couple weeks away,
I would call the Panthers about Cam Newton.
I would call the Titans about Marcus Mariotta,
who, believe it or not, I think would be a better fit
and would be a better ball control game manager,
or the Mitchell Trubisky.
So if I am the Chicago Bears, I'm with you.
I am aggressively looking at other options at quarterback
because, man, there's not much optimism around Mitch Trubisky
and I completely understand why.
Six years in the NFL, he was the ACC college player,
offensive player of the conference.
So Danny knows quarterbacks.
I was never a huge Baker Mayfield fan,
but I did say he's accurate as heck.
So he's going to work in this league.
And I think John Dorsey will give him weapons.
But in the Seattle game was very scary if you're a Baker Browns fan.
He had nothing but time and his accuracy, really his ally, his strength.
It's not size.
It's not athletic ability.
He's accurate.
He's Drew Bree's accurate.
Something's wrong.
Behind guys.
Wild.
His ball is floating now.
You're a quarterback.
I don't think you were all in on Baker either.
What are you seeing with his declining accuracy?
see and his mistakes which are compounding now.
So I don't want this to become a thing because I feel like it's going to be something
that haunts San Darnold.
But because he brought it up and said, I'm seeing ghosts out in the field on Monday
night football, I do feel that somewhat of what is plaguing Baker Mayfield.
And you can say it's basically the pressure is getting to him.
And I'm not talking about the pressure from us and the media.
I'm talking about pressure during the game.
So much so when you start to see ghosts, you start to feel a.
pass rush that doesn't exist. But it's really hard when their offensive line has struggled as much as
the Cleveland Browns did early in the season to go back there and to keep taking your drop in the
pocket and to keep setting your back foot and stepping up and trusting that protection is going to be
there so that you all of a sudden you start imagining things. And you start saying, uh-oh, I have to
get rid of this ball now and your mechanics start to get thrown off. And that's really what I think
you've seen with Baker Mayfield. He is starting to feel the pressure that doesn't exist.
So he's got to get in a position where he trust the protection, goes through his reeds.
And I also think Freddie Kitchens can take the load off of him by giving him quicker, easier routes.
Get the ball out of his hands quickly to Odell Beckham, who is so good yards after the catch.
He will make any quarterback look great.
Just get it to him early so you don't have to worry about the offensive line.
But I do think, this is another, talking about underdog situation.
I don't like the Browns to pull off the upset, but I love them getting 12 and a half points in Foxborough,
even despite Bill Belichick's history of success versus young quarterbacks under 24,
I know some of the stats, how impressive they are.
This Baker Mayfield still has a tremendous amount of talent.
You've had the extra time with the byweek to study and prepare for all those blitz packages.
He'll have to be ready for, but he has got to stop throwing interceptions.
You know, you mentioned the accuracy, the completion percentage is down.
The more shocking thing is he's always made really good decisions with the football,
hasn't put in harm's way, and he's gotten too careless.
he has to cut down on his league leading 11 interceptions or else it's going to continue the trend
and the downfall of the Browns this season. NBA, Danny, has load management. A guy takes a night off
because he just feels I don't want to be tired. NFL, you generally play hurt. You fight to get on the
field. I think it's very difficult to tell Patrick Mahomes don't play. I just think there's a badge
of honor among quarterbacks. You guys wear the jersey in practice. You can't get hit. So you're
always trying to prove, hey, I'm one of you guys. I can take a hit. Don't baby me. And I think
it's endemic in the quarterback position. I think Andy Reid's going to play him. I get it.
From what I understand, you don't love it playing Mahomes. I think it's crazy. I think it's borderline
irresponsible to go out there. I love your mindset. Don't get me wrong, Colin. Like, I don't
like players resting in the NBA. I don't like a current mindset, which is, hey, I have to be
100% because nobody's 100% in the NFL. You know, you ask any player in the NFL at week
eight halfway point, they're all like, yeah, I got Knicks, I got, I got, I got, I got twists, I got,
I got issues all over my body and they all go out there and play. But when you think about the big
picture, and that's what I think Andy Reid, I think that's his responsibility to take ownership
over that, I think it's the front office's responsibility to look at the big picture and say,
you know what, it's still October, there's still a long season left ahead. We're still sitting pretty
comfortably in the standings in our own division. This is an NFC game that doesn't really matter.
So we have to look forward. Don't forget, this could buy him extra time to also get his ankle,
which was an issue, another week's rest. So I like the mindset where, and I think Patrick
Mahomes is pushing them to play or else he wouldn't be out of practice, but I think they would
be crazy to put him out in harm's way if he's anything but 100%. Maybe if you argue it's that
he's 100%, he should go out there. And I would agree, but I don't think he's going to
be in that position. And can you imagine, Colin, the amount of criticism that went back to that
quarterback sneak on which he got hurt on in Denver, imagine the criticism if they rolled him out
there and he's not 100 percent and he gets hit and gets knocked out for the season.
Imagine the criticism that would come at the Chiefs and Andy Reid in that position. So I do think
this is a time of the year when it's okay to play it safe and look at the big picture long term.
Patrick Mahomes will have plenty of opportunity to play the role of hero, whether it's down the
stretch for home field advantage, whether it's in the playoffs. There are times and places to play tough
and to play through injuries. I don't think this is one of them. Cannell and Bell podcast with Roger Bell.
It's great stuff. Serious XM. I hear him all the time. His name is Danny Connell. He's a friend.
He's a great broadcaster. And I love having you on, buddy. Thanks.
Thanks a lot, Colin. Always good catching up. You bet. Top of the hour. Blazing five. Love my picks.

Steve Burns, Dustin Ross,
you find it important to be a good person while you hear on earth?
Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro.
Absolutely.
And that's two different levels of trust.
I want you to just really be a good person.

Great weekend
of college football
two.
Notre Dame, Michigan,
biggest game
for Jim Harbaugh.
I like Michigan
to upset Notre Dame.
There's a lot of,
I like a lot of underdogs
to win in the NFL
are blazing five
at the top of next hour.
Seven weeks, six winning weeks.
No excuses.
We had one bad week,
but I like the picks
and I like dogs this week.
And let me start with this.
12 teams make the playoffs.
Six in the AFC.
And then
in the NFC.
And if now, I think there are 12 spots available, and I think it's really 15 teams vying
for them.
What about the Raiders?
Come on, they've been out scored by 40 points.
They've been blown out three times.
What about the Bears?
They don't make a move with the trading deadline at quarterback.
I don't take them seriously.
So the 12 teams, 12 playoff spots, here's the 15 teams I like.
In the AFC, New England and Buffalo are for real, Baltimore, then it's Indie, Houston, I
by in Kansas City. In the NFC, it's, you know, in the West, San Francisco, Seattle, the Rams,
then the Saints, Carolina, Green Bay, Minnesota, Dallas, and Philadelphia. But you're going to say,
Colin, Philadelphia, Colin, come on. They're my ex. And she poured bleach in my plants. And she
cheated on me and ruined my credit. But she looks at me with those sad eyes and says nice things.
and you just want to go on one more date, right?
Philadelphia is going into Buffalo this week, and they're going to win.
They're going to win.
I like Philadelphia too much structurally.
The owner, the general manager, Howie Roseman, the coach, the quarterback.
I like their structure.
I do not believe Philadelphia's season is over week eight.
I do not believe a Buffalo Bills team whose quarterback
has seven TDs and seven picks is going to end their season.
I don't believe it.
The bills have beaten the Jets.
They've beaten the Giants.
They've beaten Miami.
They've beaten Cincinnati.
They've beaten Tennessee.
This is easily the best team they've faced.
Now, I will say this.
I love Greg Kosell, and Greg Kosell never does this,
and he ripped them two days ago, or excuse me, yesterday.
It's a team that is among the slowest in the league on offense.
They have no speed at the receiver position.
on defense, they cannot rush the quarterback and they cannot cover.
So now what happens is it's Carson, you go fix it.
And the thing is, Wence, is a certain kind of player.
He's not a pinpoint Drew Breeze, bang, bang, bang, you know, hit five yards, six yards,
seven yards, eight yards, and just march down the field.
So therefore, they're very limited offensively.
So if he misses one, and he'll miss a few because that's the kind of quarterback he is,
becomes magnified as, oh, he missed a throw.
He's not very good.
I can't sell this stock yet.
giving them one more Sunday.
Philadelphia is going to go in there and win.
And I think they have a chance to win impressively.
Every week in this league, there is a game.
And we go, what the hell?
This is going to be the what the hell game.
They got humiliated by the Cowboys.
It's one of those big national TV games.
And everybody now is selling all their stock.
And then they go, Minnesota, they get embarrassed.
And Dallas, they get embarrassed.
And I hear about the locker room stuff.
But when I like the struck,
of a company.
It's hard for me to move off it.
You know, that's just why if I like the owner, the GM, the coach, and the quarterback,
I can overlook a lot.
It's almost like, I don't know how women think, but I'll tell you, when I used to be,
you know, when I met my wife, there was a lot of structure.
She had good kids.
She came from a good family.
She was nice.
I thought she was bright.
And the structure, I was like, I like that.
You can be this and you can be that, but I'm a structure person.
And if you don't have structure and your life is chaotic and it's mayhem, I don't care
when you went to college.
I don't care how perfect your cheekbones are.
I don't care.
At some point you'll unravel.
Philadelphia, maybe they're going to unravel this weekend.
Orlando Scandrick's going to be our show next hour.
And he says, I've heard a lot of this stuff in the locker room.
I've heard it.
But I've heard it before in Philadelphia.
It's a chip on your shoulder town.
It's kind of a loud verbal town.
Guys talk a lot of trash.
The structure is too good to bail.
I know that she ruined my credit.
I know that she didn't get along with any of my friends.
I know it.
But there's something there with Philadelphia.
They're going to go into Buffalo and they're going to win convincingly.
And I can feel it.
And it's hour two next.

Hour 2 and a Friday, live in L.A., this is The Herd,
wherever you may be and however you may be listening.
We are live in Los Angeles on IHart Radio, Fox Sports Radio, and FS1.
Joy Taylor is joining me.
Orlando Scandrick just cut this week by the Philadelphia Eagles will be joining us in about 12 minutes.
He's brutally honest, very thoughtful.
He was on undisputed this morning.
He'll be on our show today.
What's going on with Philadelphia?
I'm all in on the Eagles this week.
One last chance, but this is a, you know, we think a great organization, and they've gone big time sideways.
and Joy Taylor's laughing at me.
You just, you always do this.
You're doing this again with Michigan.
You did it with Atlanta for like the first four weeks of the season.
Maybe I'm loyal.
You tell yourself that you're done.
You know what? I'm loyal person.
I'm loyal.
Is it loyalty or delusion?
It's very fine.
I am, you know, my wife said this before.
She's like, you just don't let things go.
And I'm like, I'm loyal.
I want things to work.
I get it in my head that stuff's good structurally.
it's hard for me to sell a stock if I like fundamentals about the stock.
And I like the fundamentals of Philadelphia.
But Orlando Scandrick may just call me out and I'm good with it.
I'm good with it.
He was there.
Yeah.
Seven weeks, six winners, let's not waste any time.
We got money to make.
All odds provided by Fox Bet.
Here's our blazing five.
That's a hot one.
Let's blaze it up.
It's Collins Blazing Fife.
Giants and Lions.
This is an easy one.
Giants plus six and a half.
Absolutely.
The Lions were really tasty early, but do you know in the last three weeks?
The players stopped listening.
Their defense last three weeks, total defense, last in the league.
And they traded a popular safety to Seattle this week.
It did not sit well in the locker room.
Also, the Lions running back, Carri-on-Johnson's been put on the IR this week.
So this is going to be a Stafford-led offense, a defense that is regressing, and I get
six and a half points against the Giants team. Let's be honest, Daniel Jones won't face pressure
because Detroit doesn't get to the quarterback Giants. Upset winner. Don't sell them yet.
2726 New York. Broncos at Colts. Cults minus four and a half. Like it, I love it. First of all,
Indianapolis is healthier, not just physically, but emotionally. Denver, flacco sacked eight times.
there's arguing in the locker room.
That first round left tackles a bust.
John Elway's under pressure.
They just traded away Emmanuel Sanders.
How do you think that sits in a locker room with a bad team?
We just trade away our best offensive player.
Jacoby Brissette's good, folks.
He's big, he's strongly, he doesn't make mistakes.
In Indy, well-run, buttoned down, 16 games.
In their last 16 are 13 and 3.
Only the Patriots and the Saints are better.
They're healthier.
They don't make mistakes.
They're at home, and they're in a dog fight now.
They're in a dog fight playing every week with absolute urgency.
Indy by a touchdown, 2720.
Jets and Jaguars.
Again, don't overreact.
You know my rule, Joy.
A team with talent that gets humiliated on Thursday night football,
NBC's late game or Monday night football always bounces back.
The Noah's win, but they were humiliated.
Jets plus six and a half at the Jags, I'll take it.
Gardner Minchew, he's fun.
They love him on Twitter.
In his last two weeks, he's been exposed.
He completes under 50%, one TD, one pick, and a passer rating under 69.
He's a small guy drafted later with an average arm, and he's been exposed.
Adam Gase is coaching for his job.
The Jet Sam Darnold, I listened to him all week.
They're in a very good mindset.
They played like crap.
They were humiliated.
They don't want you to think that's who they are.
And by the way, they get herned in the tight end back finally for the Jets.
They're ready to roll.
I think the New York Jets go down to Jacksonville.
It's not hot down there right now.
They'll be fine.
The weather won't expose them 28, 24, New York.
Anthers at 49ers.
Favorite bed of the week?
Like it.
I love it.
I'll take Carolina plus six.
Listen, Jimmy Garapolo, there's a reason they went out and got Emmanuel Sanders.
They're all beat up and really young at wide receiver.
They have not been as good as we thought.
But Emmanuel Sanders has only been there a week.
He's been there.
What are you going to do?
He's only been there a week.
And so I think you have a Carolina defense that blitzes fewer than any defense in the NFL.
Listen to this.
Yet they lead the NFL in Sacks.
What does that tell you?
This is a great defense with an excellent defensive head coach that gets to the quarterback
without bringing extra pressure.
And by the way, Kyle,
Allen's not great, but he doesn't make any mistakes. Go back to 1991. He's up there with
Tom Brady most passes without a pick to start his career. So I think Jimmy Garoppolo is the
quarterback that's under equal duress, a little more mistake prone. I also think San Francisco,
think about this, Kyle Shanahan went back to beat the team that fired his dad. He gave his dad the
game ball emotionally. San Francisco comes back just a smidge. Now, I don't know if Carolina
wins, but I'm taking the six points, 27, 26 either way. I'll take San Francisco to win by a
point, but I'll take the six. Raiders at Texans. Houston minus seven. Some places six
and a half will go seven, because you know, we're honest. Oakland's three losses, they've been
blown out. And I don't know if Josh Jacobs, their running back is going to play, and I like him a lot.
This is real simple to me.
Oakland doesn't pressure the quarterback.
Deshawn Watson is 7 and 0 when he's sacked one or fewer times.
So I get an incredibly, incredibly comfortable Deshawn Watson.
For the record, Houston now is a very solid running team, eighth in the NFL in rushing.
Carlos Hyde's been great.
Very good.
Duke Johnson can catch it.
This is not all Deshawn Watson.
Now he's got star receivers.
He's got a pass catching running back.
He's got Carlos Hyde.
upgraded the offensive line, and since Khalil Mack left the Raiders, last in the NFL
and sacks.
They do some things well offensively.
They don't get after the quarterback.
So a comfortable Deshaun Watson, they had that game last week.
Guy drops a ball.
They were going the winning drive.
I'm going to take Houston to win in cover, 31 to 21.
So I'm going to take the underdog jets, the favored Colts, the underdog Giants, the underdog
Carolina Panthers and the favored Houston Texans.
All odds provided by Fox Bet.
Now, here's a game I did not pick.
And I talked about it this week.
This was a game I did not put in the Blazing Five.
It's on my Saturday podcast with RJ Bell.
It'll be our bonus pick.
There's a game every week that I just sit on and sit on and sit on.
And then Thursday night, Saturday, Friday morning, I get up and I'm like, okay, I can't do it.
It's the Cleveland getting a bunch of points against New England.
And all week long, I thought, okay, short week Patriots, off by Cleveland, Cleveland's going to be good.
And then Baker started ripping the refs from two weeks ago, and OBJ started making Tom Brady goat shoes,
and then Jarvis Landry talks about guaranteeing we win.
And I thought, God, God, can they?
Here's the thing about Cleveland.
I was pretty hard on Baker Mayfield the other day.
Maybe I was too hard.
I called him a goof.
Maybe that's too much, right?
I'm old.
He's a young kid.
But Cleveland just admit this.
You are becoming exactly,
forget me, take me out of it.
You're becoming exactly what everybody predicted.
Talented, fun to watch, fun to talk about,
but young, cocky, can't shut up.
You're playing New England.
This is the best defense historically ever.
I got Baker Ripon refs.
I got OBJ talking about his love for Brits.
And I think Jarvis Landry's a good kid, but he probably should have just said, next question.
New England has given this league a blueprint.
Never ever talk about stuff that happened yesterday, ever, just don't.
And if you ever do anything to talk about an opponent, say how great they are.
You know, this week, Belichick's like Miles Garrett, unblockable, wish we didn't have to play them.
what's amazing about Cleveland
and I am shocked by the number of
forget fans media people that bought into this
it's really remarkable
just say this out loud
recently fired GM with a lot of bravado
cocky second year quarterback
with a lot of bravado
superstar wide receiver who acknowledges
he lives in Hollywood and wanted to play with Brady
comes to Cleveland
the youngest roster in the NFL and a rookie head coach who's never been hired as a coordinator by a team.
Did that sound like a 12 and 4 football team?
Here's what we know about football.
Coaching is huge.
It's huge.
Like in Major League Baseball, I was just reading a story yesterday.
They're freaking out in New York.
Why didn't the Mets hire Joe Girardi?
What's it matter?
The front office gives the manager.
the lineup. A great
manager wins you five games a year.
There's 162. In the NBA,
Brad Stevens is a fine coach.
If the star doesn't like you,
the season goes sideways.
Football is the
coaching sport.
And you gave a position coach,
the head coaching job of the
youngest, loudest, most
dysfunctional organization for
25 years in the league. And I will say
this about Freddie Kitchens. I like him.
I think he is a
little over his skis, but like all of us in life, he took a job he's not quite ready for.
When I first took a syndicated radio job, like 15 years ago, first six months, I wasn't quite
ready for it.
I'd never done it before.
I'd never done it.
I was bailing a lot of water for about six weeks to six months.
Then you're like, okay, I get the tempo of it.
I get all the nonsense you have to deal with.
I get all the affiliate stuff, the sales stuff, the boss of stuff, the topics I shouldn't
talk about.
He's learning on the job.
Not a great time to face Bill Belichick.
But this is all incredibly predictable.
By the way, Baltimore similarly has a very young quarterback who's not cocky and a GM who's not cocky and a coach that's experienced.
Shocking, they lead the division.
And don't say a word game to game.
All right, the team at M.
Coming up next, Orlando Scandrick, cut by the Eagles this week, outspoken.
and has things to say, and it's a franchise that I love, and I can't figure the Philadelphia Eagles out.

Sometimes when we're in the pursuit of the thing, we get so rapid.
up in the chase, that we don't realize that we are in possession of the thing.
And we're still chasing it. And we don't know when we've done enough. Because people scoreboard
watch. Life becomes about wins and losses. Steve Burns, Dustin Ross, because you find it important
to be a good person while you hear on earth. Are you a good person because you're afraid?
Because that's two different intentions, bro. Absolutely. And that's two different levels of trust.

Imagine an Olympics where doping is not only legal but encouraged.
It's the enhanced games.
Some call it grotesque.
Others say it's unleashing human potential.
Either way, the podcast's Superhuman documented it all, embedded in the games and with the athletes for a full year.

he has no shot at making this World Cup team.

Orlando Scandrick has played in the NFL for 12 years.
He was on that Kansas City team against New England last year.
He was on the Cowboys for years.
He was on the Philadelphia Eagles.
A team I like structurally, but I can't get my arms around.
What the hell's wrong with the Eagles this year?
I've been wrong on them all year.
He was just released by the Eagles and had some pointed comments this morning on undisputed.
Malcolm Jenkins has fired back at him on Twitter.
So I want to bring him on a 12-year Boise State, Cowboys, Chiefs, Eagles, Orlando.
Scandrick is now joining us in the herd on a Friday.
12 years.
Should be noted a current free agent as well.
So let's start with this.
You had some opinions about Malcolm Jenkins.
I just want to read this.
What I can read on the air, Orlando.
Orlando, what I'm allowed to read according to the FCC.
Malcolm Jenkins on your comments this morning,
I could give two blanks about people who aren't here.
He says, for us to move on as a team,
we can't have blank blankers like that in the room.
Why do you think he, why did your comments bother him so much?
What did you say and what bothered him?
I think it's a defense mechanism.
You know, pull up Mike just a little bit.
I think it's a defense mechanism.
I didn't speak anything but the truth.
They asked me a question.
I think that when you're a leader, you lead.
But clearly, like my point being proven, everything about that shows you that everything going on outside of that locker room is still bothering them.
And if I came in here and I accused you of something and it wasn't Drew, you'd say it was a lie.
I'm not even going to talk about it.
But if I struck a nerve, then what would you do?
I would fire back.
Yeah.
I said three weeks ago about Malcolm Jenkins, who I think, you know, he was a very good player.
I said three weeks ago to one of the guys on our staff who's a.
Philadelphia Eagle diehard Sam, I said, what happened to Malcolm Jenkins?
Selfishness.
What do you mean? Selfishness.
When you have a job to do and you don't do it and you know that it's supposed to be done,
what's the other reason that you could have not done it?
You think he's a selfish player?
If I tell you to go take the trash out and you throw more trash away and you don't do it,
what's the reasoning for it?
Do you not know how to?
Give me a specific example.
I mean, you can just look at the Minnesota game.
I mean, we're playing half coverage.
You know, he's not over the top.
We get beat for a 70-yard touchdown by Diggs,
and it's just, oh, it's okay, Jinks, you know, it happened.
You know, it's okay.
You're a good player.
You've been a good player.
You can do it.
It's okay.
It's okay, gets you eight and eight.
Some cases, seven to nine.
Did you guys struggle to get along initially, or was it something?
I just don't even think I ever had a connection.
I mean, I didn't have much of a connection with a lot of people on that team.
Why?
I went to that team because of Deshawn Jackson.
Like, I love him.
like brother. I think I had more of a connection with offensive players than I did
defensive players. But I also think there was some defensive players that I did have
connections with like Russell, Douglas, Brandy Graham, Vinny Curry. I don't know. I mean,
I've never had a problem with jinx, but it sounds like he's making it personal now.
And you know. You think he's a selfish player. And you, by the way.
I think those were selfish acts. I don't, I mean, I don't know if he's selfish. I haven't
play with him enough. But I know he is like, when you start pressing to make plays for yourself,
that's a selfish act.
what's wrong with their locker room?
Lane Johnson said,
guys are missing meetings.
I love the structure.
I like Howie Roseman.
I think he's smart.
Doug Peterson,
Carson,
Wents is talented.
I generally,
the first thing I look at
in sports,
I like the Warriors
because I like their GM,
their coach,
their leader,
Steph Curry.
I like the organization,
but I'm hearing all this,
guys don't show up
for meetings,
guys are late.
Was it that bad?
I mean,
accountability starts at the top.
And then when you got guys,
the first thing they do
when they get off the practice field
look on Twitter to respond, that's, that's hilarious.
That's laughable to me.
You know, if it didn't strike a nerve, you just let it pass by.
Why does Carson Wins get the heat?
Is it Carson Wins?
I think Carson's, I don't, Carson's a great guy, man.
He's a great young quarterback.
He works hard.
He's continually trying to improve.
I think he's going to get better and better with time and reps.
But why do I always hear, quote,
some guys preferred Nick Foles, some guys don't like him.
Who are the some guys?
I don't know.
Ask Malcolm.
got all the answers. So you guys have, this is a real thing. You're not, you're just, you're not a fan
of his. He's not a fan of you. That's okay. I mean, but I didn't, my thing is I didn't commit any
selfish acts when I was there. I was completely selfless through the whole, like, time in camp.
Like, I've been a part of an organization. I've been the captain of a defense before.
You know, I haven't won a Super Bowl. He's won two Super Bowls. And, you know, so I kind of
take a back seat, you know, I did everything above and beyond that was asked to me. I just think
that that's a different kind of place. Do you think they released you because,
of this relationship?
Who knows? I don't put nothing past Malcolm.
I think that really Zach Brown because Malcolm
had something to say with it. I think that, you know,
you always try to find a reason or somewhere you can get
better instead of just looking yourself in the mirror
and saying, you know what, we're going to get through this. I'm going to start with
myself and not get on other people.
Do you think they can turn it around or do you think
these are, do you think the chemistry is lost,
that it's to become a selfish locker room?
I wouldn't say a selfish locker room.
I think there's some people that are selfish, but do I think they can turn it
around. I mean, the schedule's not getting any easier and nobody feels bad for you. And I'm going to go
with the theory of, you know, 90% of the world doesn't care about your problems. In other 10%
they're happy you have them. It's interesting because I want to talk about two other stops.
Let's talk about the Dallas Cowboys you played for years. First class organization. First of all,
what was your relationship with Jerry Jones? Man, it was fantastic. You know, I didn't get a chance to
speak to him directly. I did get to speak to Charlotte Jones Anderson. She's great. I got to speak to
Stephen. One of the largest regrets I have in my sports career is asking to be released from the
Dallas Cowboys. You made a mistake. Yes. Why? I don't know. I think that I just thought in my mind that
maybe it was time to move on. Maybe the grass was greener when, you know, in reality, the grass was green there.
It was great, and I probably should have stayed. Jason Garrett gets a lot of heat.
Every other week, my man, J.G.'s going to get fire, but he just comes to work. He doesn't let outside noise bother him.
He controls the message of his team.
He's a great leader.
He's always, you know, thinking positive.
He's a great coach.
I mean, I think he's the most underrated coach in football.
To players respect him.
I think they do.
He's not a barker.
He's not a yeller.
But he does, though, when it comes down to it.
I think he doesn't do it publicly.
He's not out to take shots at people in the media,
and he doesn't do this whole bickering and anonymous source thing.
And, you know, even when they're winning, it's good.
And when they're losing, you don't hear people saying,
oh, there's an anonymous source thing.
saying that Dax's struggling. There's an anonymous source saying that
Zeech shouldn't have held out. And I just think they got the right formula up there.
We talk about Dack Prescott. I believe when you pay a quarterback, just a quarterback,
25% of the salary is about, is he a grown-up? Can I build my franchise around him?
It's one of the reasons I've been very critical of Baker-Mayfield. It's one of the reasons
I like Deshaun Watson, that I like Dach. I don't think Dax's a natural Aaron, Rogers,
Farr, Russell, Wilson. But there's something about Dack. He's.
He feels like a man's man.
He is an adult.
Did you like him?
I loved him.
He was a leader.
He's been a leader since the first day I met him.
I mean, he's a natural born leader.
He's the first person in the building.
He's the last person out.
And I think that deserves to get paid, whatever it is that he's going to get paid.
Again, was there ever guys in the locker room that were concerned that he's not the magical arm?
He's not Deshawn Watson, the athlete.
Are there some concerns about that?
No, that came in in a very, very unique situation.
That came in with Kellynmore, being.
Kellynmore's back up and Callum breaking his ankle.
And Tony Romo hurting himself in the preseason.
And here goes Dak from third string to first string.
His demeanor never changed.
He continued to work.
He handled success great.
He doesn't do bad things off the field.
He's nodding the headlines in the media.
He just goes and works.
He just progresses.
He's getting better week to week.
Wentz looks like a better talent.
Dak wins more.
You've played with both.
I would ask you, I would pose the question to you,
What makes Wentz a better talent?
Is it because he's a little bit taller?
Is it because he's a little bit stronger?
Or what makes him a better talent?
Or what has Carson done that Dak has it?
Productivity.
Dax's going to win the argument.
I think as an arm angle size,
I think Wentz is a bigger, stronger, better arm, more arm angles, talent.
But you have to win.
And Wentz is not winning as much as Nick Foles.
I think, um,
Dax got all of that.
But the offensive scheme kind of held him back.
at the beginning. I think they brought him along slow.
Great offensive line, great running game.
They relied on play action a lot.
Now, let's move forward.
Now, last weekend, they did pretty much whatever they wanted to.
They dropped back pass. He changed plays, play action.
He kept it.
He brings the dynamic that he's a very special from a quarterback perspective.
Now, you were also last year on a Chiefs team that got to the AFC championship.
It's interesting because I have a lot of admiration for Andy Reid,
but it was a defense that struggled.
But I want to ask you, 12-year values.
And you face that New England team leading up to that game.
You played them twice last year, I think.
I always love to ask players, smart players.
They've had two dynasties, right?
They had like, what is the special sauce for that?
The New England Patriots, they do what they do extremely well,
and they take away what you do and make you play left-handed.
They can beat a man-to-man team one week,
and they can be a zone team the next week.
They can be a running team one week,
and they can be a passing team the next week.
they have very, very smart players and have very great coaching.
Yeah, a lot of veteran players on this defense.
This defense is pretty good, right?
You see it?
You like the secondary, I imagine?
Yes, they're very good.
Yeah.
I want to go back to the Philadelphia Eagles because, you know, obviously you're being critical.
I'm being honest.
I'm not attacking anybody personally.
I'm just speaking the facts.
There was blown coverages.
There was mistackles.
You don't think it's an individual to blame?
No.
And that's not what I want.
on undisputed to say that it was Malcolm Jenkins's fault or Carson Wins's fault or
Lane Johnson's fault because I had didn't I didn't criticize anybody like from a personal
perspective I just said that there were some people on their team that were not like producing
Malcolm Jenkins is the captain he's been on that team for what six years if when LeBron
James doesn't produce on the Lakers the world's falling yeah Malcolm's not had a great year do you
think, well, I mean, listen, it's football. Guys get injured. Guys who are not in the
right? I don't think that he's injured. I mean, he might tell you that he's injured.
Who knows what he'll tell you. He might say, it's my fault. He might say, oh, now we got him out.
Now we're going to get this magic sauce and we're going to turn it around. We're going to win the rest of
our games. If Philadelphia goes to Buffalo, it's ugly, they lose again. Do you believe there's just
too much noise, Orlando? There's just too many distractions. It's over?
No, I never think that it's over, but I think that when your mind is in the wrong place and you're
focusing on outside influences you're already defeated.
That Twitter thing's weird to me.
Practices over, they run to their phones.
Yeah.
And then it's like, oh, yeah, we don't need people like that here.
Because that's why I didn't stay in the deep half.
Oh, yeah, we don't need people like that here.
That's why I ran over.
Did the chiefs or cowboys go to their phones?
No.
But I never had any ill will towards anybody in Kansas City.
I thought that was a great organization.
Andy Reid is a great leader.
And then Dallas, that's just like family to me.
And even when I dear leave there, and even when I played there this past weekend,
and I was released on Monday, I got nothing but text and support from all of those guys.
And I love those guys, and they're like my family, and they will be forever.
Okay.
It's just, you think you kind of struck a nerve because it sounds like you love Kansas City.
You love Dallas, and you like most of Philly.
Yeah, but I mean, when you're honest and you're open, people accept it.
Like, people want to pinpoint it as bitter, but I'm not.
I haven't said anything that was a lie.
I haven't came up here and lied about anything.
I didn't use this platform to come and lie.
I could have used my social media to make up lies if that was the case.
You're still a free agent.
Do you want to play?
I think I want to settle in the TV.
I think I like just watching the game from a different perspective, but you never know.
12 years, Boise State.
Still have your hell.
Yeah, great health.
Yeah, it's interesting that you acknowledge that you probably made a mistake with Dallas.
That happens all the time.
You leave relationships.
You look back and you're like grasses greener.
You were a younger player.
Happens all the time?
No, I didn't probably make a mistake.
I made a mistake.
You admit it.
Yes.
It's nice meeting you.
Nice meeting you, too.
All right.
Welcome to come on back anytime you'd like.
Orlando Scandrick, Joy Taylor with the News.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
So Patrick Mahomes has not been rolled out for Sunday's game against the Packers,
but it's been limited in practice with that knee injury.
And Matt LaFlor is that the Packers are still preparing as if they will face Mahomes
and compare the MVP to a quarterback he knows all too well.
I think he's similar to him.
I think that's the guy he's most similar to.
He's ridiculous.
There's not too many like him.
He can make every throw from every arm angle,
whether he's looking at you or looking over here.
It's pretty impressive.
And then you've always got to account for the off-schedule plays.
I mean, because he can move, and he's athletic,
and he can manipulate the pocket.
Yeah, he's a rare talent.
It's kind of interesting that he's,
comparing him to Aaron Rogers because when he was coming in the league, a lot of people compared him to Fav.
Remember, there was a gunslinger comparison.
Everyone was really worried that Mahomes was going to throw a lot of interceptions.
I think Mahomes is more.
I don't know that there is a quarterback you can compare him to.
Yeah, no.
But it's kind of funny also that he said this because they have the State Farm commercials together now.
Right.
So they're like friends.
You know, Mahomes is more Fav because I think Mahomes occasionally can be a little reckless.
I never feel that Aaron's reckless.
In fact, one of the few criticisms of Aaron would be,
sometimes he pads the ball and he won't let go.
I never think, you know, Aaron is very, to me,
he ad-libs a lot, but even his ad-libs are kind of careful ad-lips.
He's a very smart, head.
Whereas Mahomes can be a, Mahomes is gunslinger,
Farr v gunslinger.
I never think Aaron's a gunslinger.
I don't see him as that.
I would think the only critique of Aaron's game would be that sometimes, like you said,
holds the ball too long and he'll take an unnecessary hit. He does not need to take it. That's my issue.
Yeah. But I do think that that's an interesting comparison, but just in the way that their rare
talents is being compared. I guess that's what he's drawing there. That said, I don't understand
how you go from being out three to eight weeks or something to playing in the next game. I don't.
Listen, I'll go back to something very simply. Quarterbacks don't get hit in practice. I do believe
there's a sense among top quarterbacks, they want to be one of the guys.
I get it, but you also aren't one of the guys, and you have to be protected from yourself.
So if he's able to play and he's out there, great.
But you know the expectation is if that you're out there, you're going to play at the highest level.
Like once you're out there, you're out there, you may be playing hurt, but pretty much everyone's playing
hurt.
So if he's injured, he should not be out there.
So Tom Brady is in his 20th NFL season, but apparently fans can't get enough.
of Tom Brady.
The NFLPA released their list of the top-selling players
and all officially licensed products from the 2019 off-season.
And Brady came in at number one.
Still top of the list in merchandise.
Now, that's not limited to just jerseys,
but it does include jerseys.
Patrick Mahomes is number two, which makes sense.
Baker Mayfield, your guy at number three,
followed by Odell, Kaleel Mack, Chicago,
Ezekiel Elliott, Aaron Rogers, Sequin Barkley,
Judges, Ms. Schuster, and Dak Prescott.
This list actually makes a lot of sense.
I don't look at it and think that it's missing any particular.
Where's Russell Wilson?
Not in the top 10.
He's at 15.
Really?
Russell Wilson?
11 to 15 is Trubisky, which...
No, stop it.
Mitch Trubisky's at 11.
Chicago. It's Chicago.
Chicago is a very big brand.
Yeah, and they're very smart.
And they watch Trubisky and know he stinks.
How is he 11th in Jersey sales?
He's their guy.
It's Jersey.
Where's he and merchandise?
Where's Kirk Cousins?
Kirk Cousins.
I don't have Kirk Cousins.
I have a 15.
Well, Kirk Cousins is better than Trabisky, and he's not there.
That's a big city.
What's a big city?
It's not Chicago.
Carson Wentz, Drew Brees, Sam Darnow and Russell Wilson.
Trubisky's ahead of Russell Wilson.
Yes.
Where's Russell Wilson?
I'm telling you, it's at 15.
I'm telling you it's Chicago.
Seattle's not Mayberry.
They've got space needle.
I mean, you know what, I mean, Chicago is a huge sports.
Seattle's got
Mountain.
Seattle's a great
Starbucks.
It's a
Chicago's in a different category.
Trubisky's ahead of
of Russell Wilson.
This is a stupid list.
Well,
whose list is this?
Who's the NFLPA?
It's not a list.
It's not an opinion.
This is what's been sold.
This is merchandise sales.
Juju Smith-Schuster is
ahead of Russell Wilson.
This is the fans list.
The people have spoken.
Yes.
A two and five receivers
is ahead of Russell Wilson. What is wrong with America?
It's Odell.
You're very upset over this Russell Wilson stuff.
Odell Beckham, I get. He's flashy. He's a star.
You've got to be kidding me with some of this nonsense.
I mean, who in the top ten are you upset about?
I'm not upset about any of them.
Juju Smith-Schuster, a pass rusher, Baker Mayfield.
They are head of Russell Wilson.
I mean, Baker, Mayfield, and Odell are huge personalities.
You know what? Russell's married to
Siara.
It's a completely respectable number.
15 is a guy off the bench for the pelicans.
It's a nothing burger.
I'm actually more surprised that Carson Wentz is ahead of Russell Wilson.
Bad mood on a Friday.
Finally, Agent Peterson set a personal milestone last night.
He rushed for 76 yards, which put him at 13,701 in his career.
He was pretty good last night.
That total moves him into sixth on the NFL's all-time rushing leaders list.
I thought he was good last night.
He had a couple nice runs.
I thought Washington played really hard.
And it was a really nice moment to get to that feat in Minnesota.
So Emmett Smith is obviously at the top.
Walter Payton, Barry Sanders, Frank Gore, who's had an incredible career, Curtis Martin,
and then Adrian Peterson.
He passed with Damien Thomas and Jerome Bettis last night.
Curtis Martin is the quietest 14,000-yard rusher in the history of the planet.
All he was was four and a half yards of carry.
I missed his Jerome Bettner.
Jerome Pettus days, too, to bus.
How about that?
Joy with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
Can you imagine history of the planet?
I rush for more yards than any other human in the planet.
That's a thing to say, right?
Emmett Smith, that's a lot to have done.
You lead the all-time planet in rushing yards.
Coming up next, I'm Sharanya, NBA guy.
I'm sorry, Warriors' terrible.
Rockets in trouble. Lakers, I'm not sure. Clippers unbeatable? All coming up.

Senior NBA insider for the
Athletic Stadium,
a Chicago guy, which is always
Good. It's where my wife's from.
Shams Sharanya, it's great to see you.
Guy was breaking stories on the Kauai before people were breaking stories on Kauai.
All right, we got four or five things to get to.
Thank you for coming on the show.
Let me get to LeBron.
17th year.
He's now going to be the point guard.
Okay, that's a lot of work.
This is a point guard wing lead.
I don't think the Lakers can win to the next level asking LeBron to go 37 minute tonight at point.
Do you think that's their plan the rest of the year?
No, I don't think they're going to play them primarily at point guard, to be honest.
I think Rajan Rondo, once Kyle Kuzman's back in the lineup,
Avery Bradley being in the lineup, I think they have enough to allow other players to have
ball handling responsibilities.
Listen, this is what LeBron James signed up for, though, having the responsibility of leading
this team in his 17th season.
This is what he signed up for.
I think what makes them and the Clippers different is that the Clippers really just
plot Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on this team.
The rest of their team is the same.
The Lakers have a bunch of different players, like, you know,
signed Danny Green, bring back Rondo, had brought in Demarcus cousins, then replaced him with
Dwight Howard. They have a lot of moving parts that you have to integrate, I feel.
Yeah, let's talk about the Clippers because of their history in Kauai, Mr. Midrange
jumper, Mr. Efficiency, where's new balance? I'm 50. I don't wear new balance.
So there's this sense that, you know, it's hard to put your arms around him as a great team.
Shams, I look at them. It's a great team. They've got everything.
Young shooters, old shooters, older bigs, young bigs, depth, coaching, stars.
Like, are we looking at the next warriors here for three years?
I think you're looking at one of the top.
I mean, them, I think the Lakers, I think Denver is going to be a great regular season team.
I mean, you look at a team with continuity, leadership.
Like, they've got all the traits to be of 60-win regular season team this year, the number one seed, I feel.
But the Clippers, I mean, you look at their roster, like I just said, they were already built with so much depth.
48 wins without Kauai and Paul.
A bunch of dogs on this team.
And then you just plop in Kauai Leonard, whose game is very, very simple.
It's a very simple.
His regimen is very simple.
And the scary part about Kyle Leonard is,
I don't even think he's fully adjusted
and integrated himself into Los Angeles.
I think that's a process.
Because before, you know, he's a guy,
an L.A. guy, a Cali guy,
but he's always been in a different city.
San Antonio, Toronto.
Now that you're coming home,
I think he's starting to see
and starting to feel a lot of the pressures
that come with playing at home,
the family that's nearby
and can extend their arms toward you.
But overall, I mean,
he's probably the best player in the league going right now.
No. Okay, I'm selling my stock on Houston. Tillman Fertita is frustrated with his GM. He has to be. The GM's frustrated with his coach. The coach had to fire a staff and hire a staff he doesn't love. Westbrook Harden Friends, but ball-centric, high usage rate. I don't think it'll work. They lost last night. Yannis fouled out. They still couldn't score down the stretch. Listen, there's a team every year in this league, Boston last year. You look at it and go, 58 wins. And then you wake up and go, something's wrong in the chemistry in the room. Boston last year.
I don't buy Houston.
I don't think Westbrook Hardin works for 82 games.
Do you?
I think those two work.
I just don't think they have enough depth on this roster.
I mean, where's the shooting really coming from on a consistent basis?
Eric Gordon, you know, he struggled last night,
but I depend on him over the course of a full season.
PJ Tucker, I depend on him.
But where else are they getting shooting and scoring from outside of James Hardin,
Russell Westbrook, Eric Gordon and PJ Tucker,
like Clint Capella, I don't know if you can really trust him to score.
So in this league, in the Western Conference, you need different players, role players to step up and shoot.
I just don't think they have the depth on the wing to really survive.
What did you make up last night?
Hardin disappears in the second half, didn't have a field goal.
Westbrook Hardin-jaw.
Make anything of that?
No, they're really close.
And when they were drawing, they were drawing when this team was up, when they were playing really, really good basketball.
I think that's a sign of at least leadership.
If they were trailing and they were getting smacked like they were in the fourth quarter when Milwaukee started to come back,
and then they were drawing, I think that's a negative sign.
But from everything I've been told, they're super close.
They do everything together off the court.
But again, you know, Chris Paul, James Hardin started off similar ways
when Chris Paul went to Houston and that relationship deteriorated.
Let me ask you about Janus.
I'm going to play there forever.
Then he gets an MVP, a signature shoe.
They lose in the playoffs.
Dude wants to be relevant.
What if they go next year?
They win a first rounder against Indiana this year.
And then the second round, they get beat by a Toronto.
get beat by a Boston. Yannis is going to be pursued heavily by teams like the Lakers. I mean,
the big dogs are coming after at Yonis. You think he may consider leaving? Listen, none of the top
free agent, Shams, none of them looked at Milwaukee. He's a smart kid. He knows the game in this
league, right? Free agents look at seven markets. Milwaukee's not one of them. He wants to win at the end of the
day. That's his number one priority. He's made it clear. He wants to stay in Milwaukee. He's a very
simplistic person. And that goes
with his mindset, too. He wants to win.
And so, you know, if, that's
why the pressure is really on Milwaukee these
next two years to make sure that they can get to the
finals, win a championship. Get to the finals.
That's all. For Yanis,
that's all that matters is getting to the
finals and winning championships. And
Milwaukee has a window here for two years.
They do, if they take care of business, there's nothing
to talk about. But they don't have a great second
player. It's a year of duos.
The Clippers have the, maybe the best player
in the league, maybe the best duo,
and 3 through 12, absolutely the deepest roster.
Milwaukee doesn't have a two.
They have, you know, Chris Middleton, I think, you know,
but can you depend on him as a two.
I don't think he, I can't.
I think they have a good mix of role players,
rotation players around Janus.
But again, this is the pressure that comes with being MVP.
This is the pressure that comes with, you know,
Janus, the way he plays is really similar
and reminds me of the way LeBron James
was leading those Cavaliers teams before he went to Miami
and even in Miami, the role that he had to take on,
pressure he had to take on where he had a lot of
ball handling responsibilities, had a lot
of playmaking responsibilities, and you saw last
night. But, you know, I think that was a great sign
for Milwaukee's. Being able to keep, you know,
control that game after Yonis filed out.
Brooke Lopez went off, I think 11 points in the fourth quarter.
That's the type of stuff that breeds confidence.
But listen, Janice wants to win.
He's, to say he's not thinking about free agency,
like obviously, it's in the back of everyone's mind.
Of course. He's human. But I really do
believe if there is someone that is fully, fully
focused these next few years on just winning a
championship, it's him. He's so simplistic
in his mindset. Can players admit, it's
so funny. Last year you came on the
show, said something in June or something
that was obvious, and you got heat. What was that?
I think it was that Kauai
was, you know, that he was going to look
very, very strongly at going to the Clippers.
Yeah, you were on, and you got a lot of heat for that.
I think there was a lot of, you know, Laker
fans, a lot of people in L.A., a lot of people
across the league who felt, listen, like,
no, like he's going to go to the Lakers, it's a done deal.
He wants to play with the league.
But, you know, that's a guy that wanted to have his own situation,
and he had started to target the clippers.
Okay, I'm going to say something obvious.
And I don't know why this gets heat.
If you told me this morning, I need a bucket.
I'd take Kauai over everybody in the league.
Damian Liddhar's probably second.
If you told me, I need a stop.
I'd take Kauai Leonard in the league.
I need a bucket.
I need a stop.
That was Michael Jordan.
That was Jordan.
Why can't we just acknowledge Kauai's the best player in the league?
the game. I think you can say that now. Finals MVP going into the year. You don't get, if you
said that in your Twitter in three minutes, would nobody give you a pushback? No, I'm sure I'd get
pushback. You got, you know, LeBron James is still playing right now. Steph Curry. You have Kevin Durant
on the sideline in Brooklyn. Like, you're going to get heat for that. But I don't, you know,
you look at the resume, two finals MVP's, two championships. He's coming off of finals MVP. And the way he
looks, and I think what makes it so brilliant for the clippers is the way he plays is so simplistic, so
easy. You just plop him in.
Efficient. It's easy.
With the Lakers, it's a little different. You know, A.D.
You have LeBron. You have all these different
role players you're trying to integrate with Kauai.
It's very simple. He plays a very methodical
game. You just pop them on the roster.
You know, you're guaranteed for a lot more success.
Shamscher, on you. Excellent stuff.
The athletic stadium. You're fantastic. You're young.

We had a story sort of blow up today.
So Orlando Scandrick was a member of the Eagles.
He got cut Monday.
He went on undisputed and criticized the team.
Malcolm Jenkins fired back, dropped some, you know, F-bomb stuff.
And Orlando came back in our show about 45 minutes ago and said, you know, he's selfish.
Malcolm Jenkins is a selfish player.
The locker room's got guys checking Twitter right after practice.
They're a bunch of selfish guys.
And this is a big problem.
Orlando Scandrick said, I should have nevertheless Dallas.
I love Dallas.
What I liked about Orlando Scandrick, he admitted I made a huge mistake leaving the Cowboys.
Jerry Jones was great to me.
Jason, Garrett, and Dak, I made a huge mistake.
So he came out, and by the way, Orlando, he said he liked Philadelphia.
He liked Carson Wentz.
He connected with a lot of offensive guys.
But he came out and basically said, the locker room selfish.
What's funny about that, everybody's talking about it.
It's all over the internet today.
Well, excuse me.
But isn't that what Lane Johnson currently in the Eagles locker room?
said a week ago.
Guys are missing meetings.
We're not a unit.
All Orlando Scandrick said
is what a current
Eagle said seven to ten
days ago. Why are you getting
upset? You are underachieving.
People don't like the truth.
Lane Johnson came out.
I wouldn't have done what Lane Johnson did,
but he came out and we said, we're selfish,
guys are missing assignments, guys are missing practice.
So Orlando Scandrick gets cut,
says guys are late, guys are selfish.
Everybody's like, ah, it's outrageous.
One of your current players said that.
Joy Taylor's joining me.
You know, and so Orlando came on the show, and he basically said,
people, when you say something that's truthful,
people get very defensive.
Malcolm Jenkins on Twitter fired back at us,
and Orlando Scandrick got very defensive.
And, you know, he said, this is what I said about,
Westbrook last night, got defensive about he and Harden.
When stuff lands and it hits,
People get defensive about it.
And yet you're still riding with them.
I am this week.
I like Philadelphia.
One more week.
One more week.
No.
Listen, everybody's got an ex and she ruined your credit and she poured bleach in your plants.
And none of your friends liked her.
But she looks at you.
You had special connections and you give her one more shot.
I'm giving the Eagles one more shot.
How does that generally work out with that X?
It's usually the turnaround week?
No, you know, not great statistically.
I mean, I just, I think what we learned what we've kind of all felt like we've seen with the Eagles is that there's clearly an issue.
Like there is a problem.
They're underachieving.
Once is supposed to be on a whole other level, like even the conversation we had about Dak.
You really can't have that conversation right now.
Like even with the struggles the Cowboys have had this year.
Yeah.
All right. Steve Berline's coming up in 15 minutes.
Former NFL or CBS Super Bowl champ Steve Burline.
Jason McIntyre.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
You know I love that.
So we got a great, great last hour.
And Orlando Scandrick, if you missed it,
I'll play some of that in 10 minutes as well.

Colin, give me a winner and a final score.
Two best pass rushes in the NFL.
Carolina leads the NFL in Sacks and has the fewest blitzes.
And we all know about Bosa and Bruckner.
I think it's a one-point game.
So my blazing five, I took Carolina in the points.
I think it's a one-point game either way.
Probably go Niners win by a point because it's at home.
But I think this could be the best game on Sunday.
It could be the best football game.

Steve Burline, CBS Broadcaster as well.
Let's bring him on.
Notre Dameer, you can tell the quarterback, they all have a slight limp from those days running from defensive linemen.
I'm wearing the colors here, too, by the way, Notre Dame, the Notre Dame Michigan game.
They're going to lose this weekend, don't want to get into it.
Come on.
Okay, let's start with this.
Breaking news, Patrick Mahomes has announced on his own social media, he will not play against Green Bay.
Now, I was under the impression that if you practice midweek, he's going to push through it.
You never liked him playing this week.
No, there never was a question, in my opinion, that he was going to play this week.
I think Andy Reid playing the game, you know, the head coach's play, trying to keep the doubt in the mind of the opponent.
But when you consider what happened to his knee, all right, first off, he's still nursing the ankle injury, which I think is significant, number one.
Number two, to dislocate a knee, there has to be a torn, that medial patella femur ligament, MPFL ligament, has to tear in order for that legament, that kneecap to dislocate.
locate. So he tore a ligament in his knee. So there's absolutely no way. And you could tell by the way he was
working out and practice by the way he was moving around. He was favoring that knee. It was obvious to me that
there's no way he was going to play in that game this weekend. But they wanted to keep the doubt in the
mind of people. Okay. Breaking news, Patrick Mahomes out for Green Bay. Here's the question. Because I still
think he's not going to be at 100% what you're saying all year. So when he goes to Foxborough,
70%, 80? Well, the difference though between playing
on one week of healing
and giving it two weeks to heal.
It's significant.
Okay.
Significant.
And there's different grades of a torn ligament
like the MCL ligament.
You know, if you tear the medial collateral ligament,
there's a grade one, a grade two, grade three.
Right.
Grade three is a complete tear.
Grade two is a two to four week injury.
Grade one is, well, maybe you might be able
to come back in a week or two.
We'll see.
I think his was more on the minor side
as far as the degree of the tear.
I'm not a doctor, I don't know,
but if they're considering,
even letting him practice this week.
That tells me that it probably was a minor tear.
He should be good to go after one week off, I would think.
It's amazing.
I'm going to throw a trade scenario at you.
Now, in your era, we did not make in-season trades.
Not at quarterback.
No, never happened.
But it's a different time.
It just is.
The best young GMs, the Rams, the Eagles, the Patriots,
went and got a very reliable veteran Muhammad Sunu.
San Francisco went out and got Emmanuel Sanders.
It's the world now.
They moved the trading deadline back.
two weeks. So if you're two and six, teams go. You start looking at Chicago. 31 starts for
Tribisky. Steve, I saw resentment on that. I saw an eye roll last year in the playoffs with Matt
Nagy. I'm seeing they're done with Trubisky. You can't keep selling that. Don't you have to make
a move for a cam or a bridgewater? You know, I think you you try if the other team is willing to
talk about it. I don't think for one second that Teddy Bridgewater is going to be on the market
this year. I think Sean Peyton realizes how valuable he is and with a thumb injury to your
starting quarterback, I don't think you can give up Teddy Bridgewater unless they're given the
house, unless they're really giving you the house for Teddy Bridgewater. I just don't see it happening.
Now, Marcus Mariotta, he might be available for Chicago. Is that going to be an upgrade?
I don't think that's an upgrade. Well, I don't think you do know, but I don't know if they
thought that Ryan Tannahill was an upgrade when they, Tennessee Titans traded for him,
but they've realized this year that gives him the better chance to win.
He's more of a quarterback that fits what they want to do than Marcus Marioti is.
So Marriota, I think, would be available.
I don't think Teddy Bridgewater is available.
Cam Newton, now that's a different story.
Okay, so let's segue to that.
So you got a new owner in Carolina.
He doesn't give a rip about the MVP.
He's watching Kyle Allen, who costs him a nickel with that defense and that coach win games.
I got to be honest with you, Steve.
I'm that owner.
It's not even a cap hit if I moved off Cam next year.
Do you think they moved Cam?
Well, I think it's got to be considered strongly.
And I was back in Carolina a couple weeks ago for the Panthers Ring of Honor.
They inducted Jake DeLohm and Wesley Walls and a few other people into the ring of honor.
Steve Smith.
And just the buzz that I got around town and around the organization.
was that there's a lot of people wondering how Cam fits into this whole thing.
Right.
And I think with Kyle Allen's success, you know, very similar situation that I went through
when I was with the Dallas Cowboys in 1991.
Troy Aitman got hurt.
Right.
We were six and five at the time.
And going into the last part of the season, Troy had MCL injury, two to four week injury.
I came in and we won the first two games that I played.
So all of a sudden, now we're eight and five.
Troy says, okay, I'm ready.
I can go.
And Jimmy Johnson says, you know what?
Let's give you another week to rest.
Steve's 2 and 0.
We'll see if we can win another game.
We won another game.
Now we're 9 and 5.
And Troy comes back to the following week.
Says, now I'm 100% I'm ready to go.
Jimmy Johnson says, no, we're going to ride the hot hand.
We're going to let Steve play another game.
We win again.
Now we're 10 and 5 going into week 16, the final week of the year.
And Troy is now kind of upset saying I'm ready to go.
Jimmy says, I don't really care.
We're going with Steve.
And we end up winning the last game.
We go 11 and 5, go to the playoffs.
I end up starting a game in the playoffs against the Bears.
But there was never a doubt that Troy Aitman was the guy.
Well, yeah, but Jimmy Johnson, there is something to say.
Players are loyal to winning, Steve.
No doubt.
And I think the Panthers will be loyal to winning this year as well.
I think they will stay with Kyle Allen, but I do not think anything's going to happen.
In my gut, Cam Newton is not going anywhere.
anywhere right now.
And that is if Kyle Allen starts to struggle,
now they have a reason to insert
Cam Newton back into it. But if Kyle
Allen continues to play at the level of he's playing
and they continue to win,
I don't think Ron Rivera's going to make that move
and put Cam Newton back in there.
So I want to throw this at you to Tom Brady topic.
Get our Tom Brady video ready.
I said, I'm not going to speculate on how long Brady plays.
I'm not. I don't have any insight, and I'm not just going to
make stuff up. But I do think this
is interesting.
You know, Tom's got houses for sale.
his trainers for sale.
Now, some of this could be,
it's a $35 million house
in the Burbs in Massachusetts.
You've got to put that puppy up.
It's got to take three years to sell.
Some of it could be, listen,
Belichick wanted to move off him
two years ago with Jimmy G.
We know it's well documented.
Brady, Robert Kraft,
sewed it up, stayed.
Didn't create animosity,
but Tom wants to play.
He plays at a high level.
And my takeaway is, listen,
Tom would have takers.
Peyton Manning had four surgeries, Steve.
He had four surgeries.
And he had nine teams.
Pete Carroll wanted him.
Guys that were great.
I honestly think if Tom, you know, let's say he gets to the Super Bowl,
loses, it's a little choppy.
Belichick looks and thinks, I had a great game plan and Tom's old.
I think if Tom went on the market, I think he'd have takers.
The Chargers can't sell tickets.
Right.
Okay.
Miami, Brian Flores.
Chicago.
Well, Brady ain't going to Miami, number one.
I mean, there will be some poor teams that would love to have Tom Brady come in.
But the only ones he's going to consider, if that does become an option, our contending team.
Chicago would be a really interesting place to see him possibly go.
I don't see it happening.
I find it really hard to believe that at this point in his career that Tom Brady would pick up and go and try and finish off somewhere else other than New England,
knowing it's only going to be one, maybe two years max.
The risk of tarnessed in that legacy and everything that he's worked for, I think, is too great.
But you do sense the documentary, a couple weeks ago, Joy and I had a video.
Belichick gave him the game ball.
It was almost uncomfortable.
It is remarkable.
I mean, Phil Jackson, Kobe Shack, they wore each other out.
Sure.
Five years.
Right.
It's been a long marriage between those two.
Do you think they're tolerating each other or flourishing now, Brady Belich?
check. Well, that's a really loaded question. I mean, I think probably tolerating is probably the right
answer, I would think. Flourishing, you know, it's been through that phase, I think. But they're both
mature enough to know how to handle it. And obviously on the same page about the stuff that's important,
getting ready for the next game, which is the way they both look at everything. That's why they've
had the success that they've had is they can block everything out and focus on the task at hand
better than any coach quarterback combination ever.
But I just find it really hard to believe at this point in Tom's career,
that he would think about going to play somewhere else.
I would have a hard time seeing that.
Steve Burline, Notre Dame, 14 years, pro-bowler, Super Bowl champ, 92 Cowboys.
So Kyler Murray, he can play.
Lamar Jackson, I wouldn't want to face him.
Josh Allen's winning.
Baker's got talent.
Darnel was a mess on Monday, but he can play.
I am seeing a lot of young quarterbacks.
The college schematics are being adopted in the NFL.
And I'm sitting there thinking, Steve, take me back to your career.
And I want to use the word correctly.
It's not easy to play quarterback.
But compared to your era, it feels easier to come from college to the pros
with adopted schemes, younger coaches, more willing,
to adopt your schemes and coach around you.
I think the league's incredibly healthy at quarterback.
Is it fair to say, just because the macro, the world has changed,
it's easier college to pro to be a successful NFL quarterback.
Well, I think the expectation has changed.
I think back in the day when I was coming out,
it was unusual for a guy to come in as a first year quarterback
and be the starting quarterback.
It was always kind of understood there was going to be that one or two year
kind of learning period before you got thrown into the wolves.
Now it's much different.
I think the technology that's into it now,
and I think the preparation that's going on in college,
and these coaches now have a much better understanding
of how to get a young quarterback ready to play quicker, more quickly,
how to adopt a game plan to them
and try to illustrate and emphasize what they do well
to try and make that transition as easy as possible.
Now, where I think the really interesting part is,
is year two.
And that's where I think Baker's going through right now.
What is he going through?
You go through that first year and you have the success, right?
And you start having people tell you how great you are.
And you have people patting you on the back, giving you the new endorsement deals,
you get in beer chugging contests.
You start thinking you're the man, right?
And then all of a sudden you forget to realize that these defensive coordinators are pretty smart.
And they're studying their butts off trying to figure out how to make you uncomfortable next year.
And they're going to show you things that you hadn't seen before.
And all of a sudden you start getting punched in the mouth and you're trying to figure out what's going on.
You lose your confidence a little bit.
So I sensed that last week.
He did not face pressure.
You could tell by the look in his eyes on the sideline.
He kind of had that look at.
Sam Donald had it against the Patriots.
I agree 100%.
Sam looked terrified.
I thought last week with Baker, a lot of the interceptions, I'll give him a pass.
Last week I was like, okay, Baker was behind guys.
Baker is an accurate thrower of the football.
Steve, I thought he was awful last week.
I thought it was the worst game I've seen him play without a doubt.
Yeah.
Wow.
And I think a lot of it is because all of a sudden,
he's instead of being the good, confident,
Baker standing strong in that pocket and believing he can get the job done,
there's a little bit of doubt right now.
There's a little bit of doubt because all of a sudden,
all the hype that was going on coming into this season,
people are starting to question.
They're starting to throw darts at him.
And he's not having the same success.
So human nature, I think immaturity kind of comes into it as well.
You know, they're young guys dealing with success.
You've got to learn how to deal with that success.
It's great seeing you.
You're always welcome.
Former NFL quarterback Steve Burline.
You know, he's talking about that Mahom stuff.
He's got to clean your right knee up here.
You know when this guy, he's not a doctor, but he plays one on our show, and he's very good.
You know your stuff.
Thanks again for stopping by.
You got to call it.
Guys out there, stop borrowing your girlfriend's shampoo.
Use your own.
It's called Dove Men Plus Care, Wide Range for Your Hair.
Available at Walmart.
Joy with the News.
No, no, no, no.
Turn on the news.
This is the herd line news.
So the World Series continues tonight with game three between the Nationals and Astros in Washington.
This will be the first World Series game in D.C. since 1933.
That's crazy to me.
Yes.
If the Nationals win, they will be the first team to ever win nine straight playoff games in a single postseason.
Is that right?
First ever.
The first ever to win nine straight playoff games in a single post season.
Wow.
And the Astros hope to turn three.
things around was Zach Granky on the mound tonight.
He has dominated the Nats in his career with a six and one record.
Greg, I know it's a very nervous time for you and your fam with the Astros.
You're from Houston.
You guys got a shot tonight.
Colin, I'm not going to watch.
I'm off the ledge.
I'm done.
I can't handle this anymore.
Are you just paranoid?
I'm paranoid, but also today's our anniversary, so I have to do that, I think.
No, good call.
Choose a baseball game over the anniversary.
You'll be sleeping on a couch for about two weeks, yeah.
Two weeks.
Yeah.
Why?
Excuse me.
That's a good choice, Tooie.
Coverage begins tonight at 7.30 Eastern on Fox.
So that's going to be a crazy atmosphere, though.
First World Series game since 1933.
You know, tell me the Yankees didn't win more games in a row
when like the old Babe Ruth days or something?
I don't make the stats.
Come on, Elias.
There's got to be a streak longer than that.
Jarvis Landry apparently did not learn anything from Doug Peterson's win guarantee
for the Eagles last week, even if it was a soft guarantee.
He didn't actually use the word game.
guarantee.
Yeah.
The Brown's wide receiver was asked about Cleveland's chances against the undefeated Patriots,
and he made a very bold statement.
Well, we're going to win.
We're going to win.
I think it's just that simple.
We're getting guys back healthy again, and we're going to win.
Later, he clarified that he meant that they were going there to win.
Yeah.
But what Belichick did?
He already released.
Oh, he told the whole team about it.
Belichick did?
Yeah, one Patriots players said he didn't see the comments himself, but Belichick made
sure that they all heard about it.
It's funny how he does that every time.
Yeah, I mean, this is just, this is what the Patriots do every year.
So every year, even if they win the Super Bowl, they come in, they're like, yeah, you know, we're just, we're the underdogs, we're just trying to go out there and play good football.
We've got a lot to prove.
You know what I think?
It wouldn't shock me if Belichick, they had their own printing press in Foxboro.
And Belichick said, you know, the paper's out today.
Oh.
And they created their own headlines.
Because you're right.
They win the Super Bowl.
It's like, nobody likes us.
They're like.
They're the masters of it.
The masters of it.
And it's smart because that's what staying humble is what will keep you at the top.
Once you've reached a certain level of success, what do you get motivated by?
We see with fighters all the time, like when you come in, you're hungry.
Yes.
You know, you're fighting for your life.
And then all of a sudden you've got $500 million in the bank.
How do you go out there and, you know, get punched in the face?
You have to stay humble and remotivate yourself.
They find a way to do it every year.
And then, you know, guys also say they're going to go and beat them in Foxborough and gives them Boltonmore material.
Finally, I thought you would like this story.
I love this story, but James Harden and Russell Westbrook have been known to wear some fashionable outfits, some stuff that I don't know if you feel like you could pull off.
Well, Hardin said before the season, he thinks that the Rockets will be the best dressed team in sports.
All right.
And he wants to turn the tunnel into a fashion show runway.
If you've seen guys coming into NBA games, I mean, this has been going on for years.
But it is a fashion show, and it's become a big highlight on social media.
Well, as Dream became a reality last night, the Rockets brought out a red carpet and a new carpet.
a DJ for the player arrivals
ahead of their season opener.
So the team plans to do this for the next two games
and every weekend game for the rest of the season.
Can you imagine
sports are all different cultures.
Could you imagine this in baseball?
No. Now football, there are guys
that would laugh at it. It would be football guys.
No, football would work. Yeah. Although it's always like
soccer. The quarterback comes in and
they always show like Daniel Jones coming in
and like a sweater pullover. But basketball,
international soccer and football, you could get away with it.
Yes.
This would not work in baseball.
I don't think it would work on baseball, no.
But it also would be like too many games with so many outfits.
Eventually, you just want to come to the game in sweatpants.
Thank you.
Jeans and a t-shirt.
But this is great.
This is so basketball.
And I actually like it.
I think it's fun.
I'm fine with it.
I'm not going to lose a second of sleep.
I laughed when I heard the story.
I do think the DJ makes it funny.
Well, this is already going on minus the right carpet step and repeat in DJ.
So they just took it to another level.
Funny.
All right.
Joy, with the news.
Well, that's the news.
And thanks for stopping by.
The Herd Lye News.
One of my favorite segments.
It's bizarrely accurate.
It's called Tomorrow's Headlines Today with Jason McIntyre, and that is coming up.
Be sure to catch live editions of The Herd weekdays in noon Eastern, 9 a.m. Pacific on Fox Sports Radio, FS1, and the IHeart Radio app.
Well, it's called Best for Last.
That's the segment, but my favorite best for last is when we do tomorrow.
Harrow's headlines today where McIntyre, a former ink-stained wretch, a newspaper guy, got rid of that, went to a blog, made millions, and now he came over to us.
For the record, before we get to it, you made a egregiously bad decision last week.
We're not going to play the video, are we?
No.
I said, I'll take the Patriots.
You didn't even want points, and you owe me a steak dinner at, you know where.
So, you know, I've been doing a lot of the gambling stuff here at FS1, and, you know, I said, you know,
A lot of people have been reaching out to me.
And recently, right before the Patriots game, like an hour,
this guy texts me that I know.
And he's a professional gambler.
He's like, listen, the Jets are in deep trouble.
I saw you on the herd.
That was a mistake.
And I started sweating.
I'm like, oh, no.
And the Jets just got destroyed.
Apparently the sharp guys knew this was coming.
I guess I got some work to do on that.
All right.
Tomorrow's headlines today.
Here we go.
What's the headline going to be when undefeated Kyle Allen
squares off against the undefeated 49ers?
Maybe the best game of Sunday, right?
I think so.
Could be.
I believe, Colin, the headline will be
Jimmy Garopp.
Oh, no.
I got the 49ers going down.
Did Joy laugh at that one?
Yes.
One for one out of the gate.
I like the Panthers here.
And, you know, I tried to sell this Kyle Allen narrative.
I think Kyle Allen outplays Jimmy G.
Just for the record, Ron Rivera,
underrated coach with the Panthers.
Yes, yes.
Four and one against a spread out of a buy.
Panthers rested coming off the buy.
And Garapolo, I know he's got the four.
14 and 2 record as a starter in the NFL.
If you look at the numbers, he hasn't been amazing.
And they know that the receivers aren't there, so they get Emmanuel Sanders.
And Manuel hasn't been there long enough to make a major impact.
Keep an eye on this Panthers team and the Kyle Allen narrative, okay?
No interceptions.
4 and 0 as a starter.
We know Cam Newton's a free agent in 2021.
I'm not saying Kyle Allen's better than Cam Newton, but we know the formula to build a championship
contender in the NFL around a quarterback on the team.
cheap. Everybody knows Nick Foles isn't better than Wends, but everybody argues Nick Foles a better fit.
Then why can't we acknowledge? Kyle Allen's a better fit. 100%. And Christian McCaffrey, second in the
NFL and touches, gets a huge rest on the by week. He's a sleeper MVP candidate. I like the
Panthers to win in San Francisco. Tomorrow's headlines today. What will the headline be
after the Browns Patriots game? You know, we've got to talk Browns every week, Colin.
I believe the headline will be Brady Bakes Brownies.
And there's a nice photo of Tom Brady cooking.
Nice.
Because, you know, someone smart told me that the Freddie Kitchens matchup against Bill Belichick is like Mike Tyson in the 80s against some of those tomato cans that he was beating in 30 seconds.
I feel bad for Freddie Kitchens.
He's had a whole by week to prepare for the Patriots.
And, you know, this is, I can't see this going well.
I don't envision a scenario where Baker Mayfield, who leads the NFL in interceptions,
all of a sudden torches the number one secondary in the NFL, which has 18 picks.
Could I argue?
Here's why I stayed away from this game, though.
Muhammad Sanoo's not been there long enough to learn the system.
Josh Gordon's gone.
It's basically Edelman and James White.
What's the offensive weapons?
It's been that all season.
Like, does it even matter?
The defense is so good, Colin.
And, you know, I kind of got to remind you here.
This is a Cleveland team.
Last year at this point, two, four and one.
under Hugh Jackson.
Okay?
They're about to be
two and five
under Freddie Kitchens.
They've gotten worse.
Colin,
what's the defense here
for Baker and Kitchens?
Odell,
Browns better show up here.
This is another big spot for them.
And we talked about this
in the off season,
the unraveling
that locker room could get ugly.
All right,
tomorrow's headlines today.
Eagles, Bills.
What will the headline be?
Well, they tell me here
that one of your favorite bands
is the Eagle.
Love it.
Love it.
The headline will be
the Eagles were desperado.
It feels like one of these kitchen sink games for the Eagles, right?
They're coming off two bad losses.
Vikings crushed them, scored 38, Dach got 37 on them.
And now they go to Buffalo and they're underdogs.
If this game's played in week one, the Eagles are favored in this game and you know that.
Philadelphia, I think you've heard the locker room turmoil.
Olanders Scandrick was here on the show earlier talking about it.
This feels like a team that's going to break out here against Buffalo.
By the way, Josh Allen, they're babysitting.
Seven touchdown, seven picks.
We don't watch the Bills games.
I do, but most people don't.
So we just see the wins.
Lamar Jackson's scary.
Josh Allen, they are babysitting him.
So the way to beat the Eagles is through the air, right?
Their secondary is Swiss cheese.
It's been very bad.
Josh Allen can't throw.
Now, the Bills have not beaten a team, Colin, with a winning record this season.
Like, are we scared of the Buffalo Bills?
I like the Eagles to go in, pick up the win.
Fun fact here, though, as much as we talk about the Eagles, since that Super Bowl win, their record is 14 and 12.
There are 500 team since winning the Super Bowl with Wentz, with Foles.
Doug Peterson, is he the genius?
You and I think he is.
So you like Philadelphia.
I do.
So do I.
That's one of my.
Is that a Blazing Five?
No, it's not a Blazing Five pick.
It is a hunch.
And I'm, I said before, it's the X that ruined your credit and your friends hate, but you give her one more date because she looks at you with those sad eyes.
And it always works out, those situations.
Never does. Always, yes. Joy.
All right, here we go. NBA season. What's the headline going to be?
So we were going to do NBA last week. But then we held it for this week. I went to Lakers Clippers,
got several shoutouts from herd fans at the game. You did. Yeah. People watch this segment,
obviously. I believe NBA championship in 2020, brow to the king. Now, I know you like the Clippers here.
Love them. And listen, Clippers have looked fantastic. But when the Lakers started the fourth quarter,
order. Okay, LeBron was surrounded in the opener by Troy Daniels.
I don't know what continent he was playing basketball on last year.
KCP, who's not going to play when you get to the playoffs.
Jared Dudley, who we both like and know he comes here at FS1.
That's not a lineup that's ever going to be on the floor in the playoffs, Colin.
People are overreacting to what they saw in the opener.
You're telling me, the Lakers with LeBron and Anthony Davis,
are going to lose four of seven to the Clippers.
When you've got Avery Bradley, Kuzma, I think Rondo's a good.
good rotation player. I know you think he's washed. Danny Green, who's one of my neighbors where
we live in the South Bay. I think the Lakers win the championship. I actually think they beat the Celtics,
who nobody's picking to go anywhere. By the way, aren't you worried that in his 17th year,
they're going to ask LeBron to be the point? That's a daunting physical ask.
Kind of, sort of, but again, Rondo, when he's healthy, and I know he's not a 35-minute-a-game guy,
is going to play a lot of point card. LeBron is certainly doesn't want a play point,
and dragging out to the perimeter,
freeze it up for Anthony Davis.
Anthony Davis had a great game
until the fourth quarter against the clippers.
I just wonder Paul George in chemistry.
Remember him and Russell Westbrook in Oklahoma City
were supposed to work, lights out, dominate.
Couldn't get out of the first round.
Okay?
Paul George, I like him a lot.
How winning of a player is he?
What's going to happen when Kauai's getting all the shine?
Paul George, the L.A. guy, all of a sudden, wait,
nobody's talking about me.
They're talking about Lou Williams and Herald and Kauai.
does playoff Paul George start to ball hog it a little bit?
I would worry more about the Clippers chemistry than the Lakers.
Jason McIntyre tomorrow's headlines today.
Trent Dilfer, Colin Wright, Colin wrong on a Monday,
and we'll be talking a lot of football.
Speak for yourself, next.
Last night, a blown call changed a game.
This morning, the internet lost its mind,
and nobody's telling you exactly what happened.
That's where Sports Slice comes in.
I'm Timbo, and every episode we're cutting through the noise,
