It's really funny in a good time.
Really?
Yeah, yeah.
I think statistics just came back and we're one of the funniest two guys with mics.
And that's pretty hard to beat right now.
But it's true, actually.
Why should people listen to us?

Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever we get your podcast. Jose Ramirez has woken up and is being
the dude that we've seen for a long time. So this is a guy that posts up every single day.
So to see him come alive, man, especially how long he stayed there. He took the team
friendly deal because he believed in the guardians.
He believed in that organization and wanted to stay there and loves it there.
And he hit the big home run there in the fifth inning to put them up, 3-1.
Welcome back to another episode of Ross and Rizzo on Filter.
We are here talking about game four of the ALDS Guardians versus the White Sox.
Guardians beating the White Sox 9 to 5 to force a game 5 in Cleveland.
Rossi, I was there for game three.
stadium was loud. The White Sox were able to silence them. And then in game four, prime time night
game blackout there on the South Side. And the Guardians come in there again and take two
from the White Sox on their home field. Got to be a gut-wrenching feeling. I feel like those
White Sox fans are starved. They haven't clinched a home series, playoff series on the South Side since
1906, Rossi.
That's been a minute.
That's when I was a rookie.
I'm going to beat you to the pond.
That place was electric, man.
That was, it feels like this is just,
this series is kind of following suit for what they did during the regular season.
The back and forth, the place was electric jumping off to the socks,
jumping out to a two-o lead.
But yeah, man, the back and forth that happened this year.
We saw some of those games at the end of the season where, you know,
we had the walk off in Cleveland.
you know, feels like these guys, nobody ever goes away.
And it's always these bullpen matchups and these arms and who's,
um,
who's CRISPR coming out of the pin whose guys are kind of fresher.
And it looks like some guys are running out of juice out of those bullpins.
No doubt.
No doubt.
I'll at least say the off day, uh, tomorrow and then going into game five.
Everyone should be available.
But the guardians, man, you got to give so much credit to the guardians and Stephen vote.
for keeping his team in it and believing, right?
Believe land.
I believe that's always their motto.
That's right.
But, bro, they just,
they could have folded so many times,
and that whole crew, I feel like, has so much late season
and September experience and posting his experience.
I know they haven't gone too far,
but these guys have played in big games,
and they have not shown any quit.
Bro, Jose Ramirez has,
woken up and is the
dude that we've seen
for a long time.
Like, that's...
Well, he dealt with the hammy, right?
Yeah. I think it was some hand issue.
I don't remember exactly, but...
He posts pretty much
every single year. I mean, we're talking about a guy
who plays a lot
of baseball games, Ross. I have
his baseball reference page up. The last...
Other than this year, 2025,
158 games. 24,
158, 23, 156, 22, 157, 21, 152.
So this is a guy that posts up every single day.
So to see him come alive, man, especially how long he stayed there.
He took the team-friendly deal because he believed in the Guardians,
he believed in that organization and wanted to stay there and loves it there.
And he hit the big home run there in the fifth inning to put them up, 3-1.
I feel like the fifth and sixth inning was the entire ballgame.
Yeah, yeah, you're exactly right.
Like, would the White Sox answer back after a two-o?
And then he hits that big two-run Homer to take a three-two.
And you're like, okay, kind of silence the crowd.
And then they answer back with two of their own, you know, just grinding it out, hit by pitch.
Antoni just on cue.
It feels like you.
I mean, what would you have in your career?
I think he had like 30-something this year.
What was your highest in the season?
32.
I have fun fact,
not about me,
but I'm only the second.
Me and,
man,
I'm blanking.
White saw,
he's on the Indians.
It'll come to me.
Only 30,
30, 30 players in Major League history.
30 homers,
30 hit by pictures.
There's only,
there's only two of us.
Nice.
Nice.
Rare air.
But they,
they,
you know,
that's kind of the,
like I said,
And like these two teams just,
it feels like just that boxing match
just going back and forth.
You know what it kind of,
and maybe it's because Cleveland
and I just relate everything to our time.
Don Baylor.
John Baylor.
Shout out Chris Tran.
That way to give us that name.
But it felt like,
and this was kind of like when I was thinking about
who I'm going to pick for the game.
It's our game,
our series with Cleveland kind of was like,
We didn't get going to a little bit later offensively in the World Series.
And like if you look at our last five games, it feels a lot like, you know, we send it back to Cleveland, you know, win game five.
And then we bust out in game six offensively.
That's what it felt like Cleveland did yesterday on the road.
So going back home, a little bit momentum, the offensive rolling.
They got Gavin Williams, who came out of the pin last night to close it out, starting game five and a winner take all.
it just felt a little bit about like that back and forth that we had
and the momentum just feels like it's all guardians right now for me.
No doubt. It has to be, right? It's a young White Sox team
that I feel like was so emotional, wanted to win so bad for that home crowd
and celebrate here in Chicago and go face the raise. But that wasn't in the story.
You know what I mean? And it was a good baseball. This has been good baseball, right?
teams, and what I mean by that is
the guys have responded when they've gotten punched.
Both teams are throwing punches.
You know what I mean?
And the fact that the guardians go up
three to one in the fifth
and then the White Sox respond,
if for me the last two games at home for the White Sox,
they just haven't got that big hit.
You know, they've grinded out runs,
but they didn't get the big dagger hit.
They've had so many opportunities, bases loaded, guys on second and third, and they, you know, sack fly, or they only get one run in at a time where, you know, Joe Adele gets the bases, right, triple.
That's what I was going to say, yep.
It's like that one hit changes the entire, wins the series for the White Sox.
But they just haven't gotten it, but they've been fighting.
They've been clung.
They've been grinding.
Their pitchers are probably a little bit on empty, the back-to-back games.
but they have an off day.
They'll be able to reset
and adrenaline will take over
for game five.
So that's going to be
fun.
Saturday night in Cleveland,
prime time.
They're the only game on.
It's going to be fun baseball
to watch.
I tell you who's loving this.
Kevin Cash and the Tampa Bay
Ray is like go ahead.
Play five.
No doubt.
Spend them all.
Like you hit it on the head, man.
It's been a real cool back and forth.
That's what you love about baseball,
the comebacks,
quit and, you know, we saw, you know, so you could tell how bad, and I know the season's over,
but like Stephen Boat was taking nothing for granted yesterday, like bringing in Kate Smith in
the eighth and extended him. I mean, he threw a lot of pitch. It looked like he started to run out of gas
a little bit and then bringing in Patrick, you know, I'm sorry, Gavin Williams to close it out.
Like these guys are taking no chances.
And it's the eye time of year already.
You know, it feels like in the past,
we get some of that in the game sevens
of the World Series or the game six isn't.
But right now it's like, no, no, no.
The DS, Game 5, whatever it takes to move on,
these guys are, are scratching and clawing.
And I'm with you.
Like, we feel like the socks get some sack flies here and there
with the bases loaded or the hit by pit stuff.
But they don't get the break open blow,
the base is clear and double, you know, that the Cleveland have gotten.
No doubt.
That's a good point.
I mean, a lot of line drives at people a lot.
Yeah.
Both ends.
Yeah.
You know, both ends were ball off the bat.
You're like, oh, and, oh, man, right?
I tell you what scares me.
Grant Taylor did not look good.
That's all right.
It's one game.
It's one game.
I know.
I just like, there's a lot of emotion.
Like, Fetty throwing that ball up into the stands.
Did you see that?
A lot.
There's a lot of emotion.
But that's what happens.
That's what happens in the new teams.
I know.
And you've got to, that shit takes a toll over the long.
You run out of juice.
Like expending that, screaming.
You know, I know it's part of it.
Hey, the only way you, the only way you know you run out of juice or I see is by going
through it.
All right.
And they're going through it.
They're going to learn.
Part of the journey.
I just was telling.
It's all part of the journey.
Landry had him up here in Nashville.
Landry had a volleyball game.
and we had lunch yesterday
and I was just talking about
kind of the ups and downs of like a season
I was like just part of the journey
makes a story better at the end
a little adversity never heard anybody
in what was it 24
when we were playing the royals
in the first round
Hector
or Carlos Rodon
comes out in the first inning
I don't know if you remember this game
I remember that
blowing absolute smoke
I'm not kidding Rossi
in my entire career
it was the most electric first inning
I've ever ever experienced in my entire life
he walked off the mound
in a different state of mind
I'm not kidding I have goosebumps
my hair's thinking about it
and he freaking blew his
like come to third and fourth
his adrenaline was down
but he learned from that
he learned from that and
but it was like these
this is what the playoffs all about it's about
being emotional
controlling your emotions trying to control your emotions
trying to control your emotions while being emotion.
I mean, I said it to you in the last case of emotion stuff, right?
Like half joking around, half serious, like, dude, this shit is crazy.
It's a ride.
It's a ride.
I miss it.
I tell you what, like, there's times I don't miss playing baseball.
Like, it's hard and your body and the grind.
You know, we talk about the dog days of August and you hate everybody.
But right now, I'm like, I would give my left nut to be in a duck out.
It is a fun time of year that backing forth that emotion, like that those nerves and energy
and getting out there and competing in that environment with everybody rocking and getting a big hit.
It's what you train for in the offseason.
It's what the dog days are all about.
It's what the struggle is all about.
It's about these moments.
I mean, game five is going to be great.
Each, there's no secrets.
There's no hidden scouting reports.
Every guy knows what each pitcher is going to try to do to them.
know what hitters are looking for.
So that's why these series, the game five is going to be a coin flip.
I just think that the guardians have too much experience going back home to not finish this out.
But then again, I want to say the White Sox getting out of guaranteed rate or rate field,
getting out of Chicago and going back on the road and being those road underdogs again,
they could feed off of that.
So yeah, I don't know.
I just want a good baseball game.
What do you got, Rossi?
Give me your prediction here.
I got, okay, I'll do my polymarket pick,
but I want to explain it first.
I think I'm with you.
Like, I love the Gavin Williams starter.
I think this is where the starter is going to pay off to go to the bullpen,
rather than the White Sox kind of their journey's been kind of mixing and matching.
And at the end of this, they've seen everybody Cleveland has,
and that place is going to be rocking.
And, you know, the momentum I talked about earlier,
I think I just give the edge to the Guardians.
But if you're a polymarket kind of guy,
the Guardians are 57% to the yes.
That may be the highest number we've had to close out the series.
$100 get you $170.
White Sox are 44% to the yes.
And $100 trade gets you $2.16 back.
And I know I talk about winning money,
but I'm going with the Guardians.
I feel like they've got all of those.
Jose,
Ramirez is locked in.
That's the player to watch.
For game five.
If the White Sox can keep Jose Ramirez down, he's, he's hot.
He's a superstar.
You know, we didn't even talk about Gavin Williams coming in in the ninth,
and I would just want to hit on that.
Coming in on his bullpen day, which would be his side session day.
Throwing, you know, close to 20 pitches, high leverage, right?
High leverage.
And he was warming up for a while.
He was warming up for a man.
to watch in game five, but I don't think it's going to be an issue at all because there's going to be such a short leash on him in that, right?
Any trouble you know Stephen Vote will have guys ready to go.
Everyone is available for game five.
So it's going to be a great one.
Tune in on Saturday night in Cleveland.
Cleveland's going to be rocking.
Good for the Guardians fans.
I have to say I'm rooting for the Guardians.
I just have such a soft spot for Cleveland, right?
I want to see them have success.
It's fun to be in the media and just flip-flop back and forth.
Dude, literally, I think I've gone from rooting for this team, that team, Dodgers, Yankee.
Hey, I'm rooting for them because that was my pick to start this whole thing off.
So, like, now they've got to close it out for me.
I'll have, I'll be four for four in the championship series if the guardians get there.
See?
Because you've managed, you have the experience.
You've been in the media before.
You've managed.
You have experience.
I'm a rookie.
You know, my emotions right now are getting me.
There's something about the warm summer air and a cold corona with lime that makes the roar of the crowd sound a lot like the roar of the waves.
That's because this is our playa, and the best seats are always wherever you're sitting.
Whether it's a weeknight game under the lights or a Sunday afternoon in the sun.
You know baseball isn't about rushing around.
It's about settling in, letting the game come to you.
And nothing pairs better than a nice cold corona.
Nothing.
So find your seat, your corona, and your lime.
Because real fans know the only thing better than nine innings is extra innings, especially on La Playa.

What's up, guys?
I need to tell you about this new prediction market called polymarket.
It's the best new way to trade in sports.
In the past, if you wanted action on the game, you put some money in, and if your team was doing well, and you wanted to cash out, they'd lock the trade and take a huge fee.
But Polly Market is a prediction market.
It's a stock exchange for sports, buying in and selling out on your terms.
I've tried them all, and Polly Market is simply the best prediction market, better than Draft Kings, Fandul, Kalshi, you name it.
They're so confident you'll never go back to the other guys.
They're giving you a free $25 on your first trade when you deposit just $10.
And now they've launched a new feature, squads, a group chat where you can see what everyone is trading.
So download the Polymarket app today and use the code Ross Rizzo when you sign up.
That's code Ross Rizzo and get $25 free after you deposit just $10.
That's good to our Tim Bus ball bag questions of the day, our daily mailbag where me and Rossi take all of our questions, all of our fans' questions.
Our hottest topics around Major League Baseball, you can comment on your daily mailbag.
YouTube, our social channels on Instagram, Twitter, or X, as the kids call it, or email us at
Ross and Rizzo at gmail.com. First email is from Garnett Shear. I've been rewatching some of the
2016 playoffs on YouTube. And while Minori Kawasaki was ineligible for postseason play,
he still traveled with the team and got a ring. I was wondering about the role that the players
that can't play but travel with the team have during the time, that time of the season.
That's a great question.
Great question.
And Kawa, as we called him, was one of those guys, a great player, but not on the roster.
You loved having him around.
Like he made an imprint when he came into spring training.
He'd karaokeed, like everybody loved having him around.
He had the funniest sayings.
he was just like a good vibe at that point, like waiting there for his time in case somebody got hurt and you need defensive type players.
But solid player was really fun to be around, helped us out all year when he was up.
And, you know, when I, you say you're rewatching game seven in 2016 and watching some of those tapes.
The fun part, I do that every year right before spring training starts.
watched the 2016 and 2013 World Series movies.
Turn the page. And it is, bro, I laugh. I cry, bro. It's good for the soul. It is just like
takes me back. Like I was amazing. Look how great our team was. Just a little, just a little
dig me session for my career. But I'm serious, bro. You should try it. It's therapeutic.
I cry every year. I cry every year. It's like the happiest thing. And you realize what you
realize it's like going through that the back and forth that happens and what it takes to win a
championship and it's like i'm exhausted when i'm done watching it it was like it's so healthy it's
reminder about the things you said and the things that guys did and like how you just got to keep
pushing forward bro it's it's healthy but good question that was that was an all that was an all time
rant from one guy traveling with a team to you watching spring training it's not about me i mean i don't
want to make it about me, but it's about me.
I think it's a huge role.
I think that the guys on the bench mean everything to a baseball team on a daily basis,
especially throughout the season.
That support on the bench throughout the grind of 162 means everything.
And then the playoffs, too, it's such an intense environment.
You need guys on the bench to be there to be kind of that safety blanket of, all right, we got this.
We're good.
Bring the good vibes.
Bring the loose vibes.
Cowell was that for us?
For sure.
I think, correct me if I'm wrong,
but we like made sure Cowell was with us.
Because a lot of times they don't let guys travel.
And you see it with the White Sox with Mike Vassel.
He had Tommy John surgery.
He was such a vibe for them in that clubhouse on the field
that they ended up taking him on the road.
You never bring guys who have Tommy John surgery
on the road with you during the regular.
season. But that's how much he meant to that clubhouse culture there for the White Sox. So it means
everything. So great question. Great question. All right, YouTube comment from Ryan Winter 5-541.
What is your opinion or takeaways on the near future expansion teams and explain how that would
look. Love the pod and go Cubs. Nice, Ryan. Nice. I think that I think it's inevitable. We're going to
add two more teams and you'll have 32 teams and then you break that down.
I think what you're going to see because the playoffs is you're going to see an east and west
and you're just going to have seeds.
Now, if they go east and west and they do divisions within the east and the west,
they have to make it to where if you win your division, you get rewarded.
I'm not sure how that's going to work, but it just seems inevitable that we expand two more teams
where that is is to be determined.
I know there's talks,
a lot of talks about Nashville, maybe Utah.
I'm sitting in Nashville right now, baby.
I'm like, let's go.
Music City needs a team.
Come up here, every team going out on Broadway.
Leasing Broadway girls alone.
But I think that's how you expand it.
And I think eventually you just have an east and a west
and you start reseeding in the playoffs.
So the best team plays the worst team
and then you keep reseeding throughout the playoffs.
Yep.
Yep. I don't know what team's going to get.
There's like all the teams are in the mix, Portland, Utah,
I think Charlotte, Nashville, all these different things.
But I think, you know, the reseeding stuff would real, really help
or kind of realignment of the divisions and it will help a lot of the travel
and some of the grind of maybe the 162 or we'll see.
But great question.
We're a great question, Ryan.
I think that, I think that'll be really healthy.
I think Manfred is, I think that's going to be his last little legacy is adding those last two teams and whatever goes down this year.
That means they'll need two more managers, Rossi.
Just saying.
Hey.
Just saying.
Not for me.
I'm a content creator now.
You're trying to kick me out.
You're like working with me?
What's going on?
All right.
Last email is from Bill.
The question is for me.
Rizzo, how hard was it to step away from playing and what made you want to step into media so fast?
Do you still miss playing?
or are you happy with the transition?
So I kind of knew going into 24 that,
especially after I got hurt and broke my arm,
that I remember telling Emily,
I was like, hey, let's enjoy these last two months,
not really sure where it's going to go after this.
And I told my family in the playoffs,
hey, you know, I told them the same thing.
Like, enjoy this ride.
I'm not telling you I'm retiring after this season,
but it's a possibility, right?
So then the way the offseason unfolded
and the teams that were interested
just didn't really suit.
My wife was pregnant.
I had some interest from San Diego and some other teams.
And I was like, you know what?
For what it takes to be an elite player,
I just felt like I just couldn't give that anymore.
And we were having our first child,
which has been the best thing ever.
And I was like, you know what?
I just went to the World Series with the New York Yankees.
Like, I'm good.
Like, I'm happy.
The grind is so hard.
Do I miss playing?
I miss playing for the first time this opening day for about four pitches.
And then you see, and then you see guys just throwing a hundred.
And I'm like, no, I don't miss that.
Yeah.
And then I'm, and then I really miss.
What do I miss the most?
What do I miss the most of plane rides?
just the struggle, the camaraderie.
Like the, I miss the guys, like, hanging out in the clubhouse and, like, just talking
baseball and having fun and joking around.
Those are the things you miss.
And then the struggle.
I love the struggle.
Like, as much as I embraced it and wore it on my sleeve, it's what fuels you.
Like, I remember so many times at my locker just sitting there laughing.
And guys are like, why are you laughing?
Why are you smiling?
You just, you fucking suck right now.
I'm like, because this is what makes it so much better.
This is what makes the sunny days so much better.
If you love the struggle, you would have to have my career.
That's all say.
But no, I don't miss it.
I do not miss it at all.
I love the, I love getting to hang up my pal all the time, my best pal, Rossi.
And the broadcast itself has been a lot of fun.
So good question.
Thanks.
Thanks for getting me in my field.
Thanks everyone for listening.
Again, Ross and Rizzo unfiltered.
Game 5 of the ALDS.
We will be with you right afterwards.
And then we are on to the championship series.
Rossi.
Six teams left after Saturday will be four remaining.
Cannot wait.
Rizzo, Ross, out.
Peace.
