Hello, Simon.
Chad, how we doing?
Dude, what a great day.
What a fun weekend.
What a fun experience from Thursday through yesterday into today.
Great games.
Some games down to the wire.
One of the games that we are still paying attention to.
The Detroit Lions, they are one of the teams we had in the contest.
We had them at minus six and a half.
we got a shot.
We got a small, infinitesimal, only if you believe in irrational optimism shot.
And that one, we lost the bills minus 10 and a half.
We won the Panthers for the game.
We have spent a podcast career waiting to bet.
We won the Panthers plus three and a half at home against Tampa.
And we won with the Jags plus three and a half on the road.
against the Broncos, our last ones out, kind of a mix of the Giants,
the Colts tomorrow night, Tennessee and Las Vegas.
So, you know, we could have been better than we are.
As usual, we are two and one hanging on to a very thin threat of hope with the Detroit Lions.
Did you enjoy the day?
Yeah, fun day, great games.
The Detroit bet is dead, though.
Unfortunately, Pittsburgh missed the field goal, so.
Oh, I didn't see that out.
Yeah.
I was jabbering.
Well, the Detroit bet is dead, and now they get a chance to win,
which just makes us annoyed because we're both huge Bears fans right now.
Yeah, we'll see.
Crazy game.
But, yeah, all the games today, really fun games, crazy games.
And, you know, not too much to say about the bad teams, right?
There was, like, a couple bad teams that were playing,
I didn't really watch too much of those games,
but these high-profile games that felt like playoff games were pretty insane.
And, yeah, the biggest shocker of the day, in my opinion,
just this Jaguars game.
The game we're going to talk about.
We're going to talk about that.
I can't believe how that game went.
And it's rare where you take a dog in that spot that kept getting bet by the pros against it, right?
The pros piled in that favorites.
And they got blown up by double digits.
So pretty shocking result in that one.
But great games today.
All right.
So we won with the two dogs.
We're down with one favorite.
We're going to lose with the other favorite as soon as it's over in the Lions.
Let's talk about Carolina first.
because like I said, this was the game we've been waiting our lives to bet.
Anyone who has listened to the show knows we have been backing the Carolina Panthers forever.
We committed to it today.
We said this is the game that we have earned ourselves the right to bet.
And I got to tell you, when it started, the bucks for a hot minute looked exactly like the team that had all of its
weapons. With Bucky Irving, with Mike Evans, with Chris Godwin, like Baker looked good,
but the Panthers did what the Panthers do. And Bryce Young continues to just be impressive
under pressure. And Teteroa McMillan was making unbelievable catches today. And so to me,
like at the end of the half,
Baker was only 7 of 10 for 41 yards.
And the Carolina Panthers stopped the bucks
inside the five yard line three straight times.
They had to settle for a field goal.
Like the Panthers were on one today
and it was freaking glorious.
Yeah, and it was both sides of the ball.
Their defense was hard hitting, really rally.
Around the just the home crowd.
Like that, for honestly the first time
it feels like it's since Cam Newton's, you know,
2015, 2016, and run.
And they legit fell like that at a home field advantage there, right?
The offense, Baker trying to switch plays and stuff.
There's a few times where he either tried to check into a run
or had to use the time on the sideline just because you could not hear over the crowd noise.
And it was a weird game, though, just for Baker and that offense and a sense that,
I think a Mecca at two targets.
He had one catch for 40 yards.
Mike Evans had a ton of targets.
He had like nine targets or 10 targets.
And he didn't really do much with it.
It was just a really bizarre game on the flip side, like you said.
Tedderoa McMillan, how is he not the rookie of the year right now?
So, yeah, I'm shocked by what I've seen from this Panthers team,
the fact that, like we've talked about all year,
they just keep bouncing back.
So pretty bizarre that we have just had this team,
have a letdown in the next week, really show up,
like we said, both sides of the world.
I felt like they dominated, especially that second half.
So good is this Panthers organization.
And I don't know if it's next week doesn't really matter,
but it really does come down
that final matchup
with the Tampa Bay bucks once again
and they just look like the better team
this Panthers.
So I want to see,
do they just get rolled next week, chat?
And do we just back them once again
come week 18?
Simon?
Simon?
I'm going to say it now.
Next week,
Carolina Panthers
are seven and a half point
home underdogs
against the Seattle Seahawks.
I don't see this team giving an inch.
I see this team wanting to build on the momentum.
That's what they get you to do every time.
I know, right?
This is what they do.
By the way, did something just fall in your house?
It sounded, it sounded, or was that just some sound effect?
No, I have too many phones.
One of my three phones went off, unfortunately.
I don't know how I missed it.
Usually I'm pretty good at muting these things.
It sounded like it was a drum set.
It sounded like you were giving me like, you know, but I'm bum or Matt Mitchell was
playing, playing games with us.
I do want to point out a couple things about Bryce Young
because after Tampa Bay scored a touchdown.
to take the lead. Bryce Young had a classic Bryce Young drive, which is all the reasons why we bet Bryce Young, which ended with him spinning and stumbling and scrambling forward, keeping his eyes up, then finding Jetavian Sanders to take the lead, a 10-play drive that included a pinpoint, brilliant, accurate pass on the back shoulder and a one-handed catch by Tetaroa,
Millen who also had a touchdown in that game.
Like, he was amazing.
And then when it's tied, 310 left, Bryce Young third down from his own 33,
hits Coker over the shoulder for another brilliant in the bread basket throw,
37 yards, gets him to the 34, gets him to the 33 yard line for Tampa Bay.
And like, they kicked a field goal.
They pick off Baker to end the game.
Baker looked terrible.
Like he was never in rhythm outside of those first couple of drives.
No, and he had a few times where his leg saved him.
But overall, yeah, they just didn't look with it consistently.
Like we said, they've had all their weapons back.
And, you know, every week it's been bizarre.
Ameca Bucca was so good to start the year.
They're literally dialing up place for him, having to be their number one.
And a matchup like this for him to have two targets.
It just doesn't make sense.
And yeah, it's insane because he had one great catch.
that sort of started to put them in position
and then, you know, the game was over after that.
So, yeah. No, it's, I'm glad we stuck to it,
but it's also we always talk about it.
It's about the number where, I hate to say it,
but the two and a half, it was like, you know,
not as confident, but the three,
that's where we wanted to be at that one.
So yeah, we got lucky for our contest,
we got the three and a half.
I'm watching the Lions game out of the corner of my eye right now.
It's fourth and two for the Lions with a minute 39 left.
So we'll be updating that.
The Buffalo Bills were 10 or 9.
half point favorites against the Cleveland Browns today. I think we can both agree. There were two
games today where we went against our instincts and bet on favorites that were of a larger number.
The Bills and the Lions betting against the Cleveland defense, betting against the Steelers in a
Ra Ra Mike Tomlin spot of a significant number. And ooh, there's some kind of flag. I think
it's going to be pass interference on the Steelers,
so the lines are going to have the ball at midfield.
The bills should have won this game 37 to 10,
and they just let the Browns stay in at.
Quinchon Jenkins left the game with a lower leg injury.
He's carted off.
Shradore Sanders left the game because his pinky nearly fell off,
and then he had to come back in.
The bills should have put this team away a thousand different ways,
and they couldn't do it.
when you watch that game, were you frustrated?
Were you angry?
Were you like, this is stupid?
Like, I felt all those things watching this game.
Yeah, it hurt.
I told you earlier that I had a decent amount of money
just simply on the Bills of Money line.
I thought that was cooked because, like you said,
everything was just going wrong for this Bills team.
And, you know, at half, they're up 20 to 10,
getting the ball.
We're both feeling pretty good.
But the little fear was, okay, did Josh Allen break his foot right before half?
And he went and got x-rays and the x-rays were negative.
And, you know, I don't know.
What you're thinking of my mind, I'm like, this isn't good.
They're going to play very protective of Josh Allen now.
And he's going to play protective of himself.
And you saw a little bit of that, but he was also just off target.
It was a bad, it was just a bad half by Josh.
Yeah.
He did not play well today.
And at the end of the day, we still should have covered, like you said, a million different ways.
They missed the extra point.
and they had a drop touchdown
in the back of the end zone.
That's eight points.
So should have landed right in 11,
should have been to cover,
even with all the other BS,
and we couldn't get there.
So, you know, do I regret it?
Obviously, we want to win bets here,
but it's one of those.
It's, I was never going to help myself.
I said it to you.
It's the bills were the most public side.
So usually, right,
we usually blindly fade,
especially in that spot,
that opportunity.
And it's unfortunate where everything we said was true.
The bills could run.
I think they average six yards per care.
They did whatever they want running the ball.
It just didn't break our way.
And Sanders, I think he led the Browns in Russia.
He just had a couple of big plays with those legs that basically kept them in it.
And yeah, we should have covered, but the Browns, you know, they deserve the cover.
They were in that game the entire way.
And this Bill's team, it's bizarre.
We all think they're going to make a run to the Super Bowl.
Oh, my God.
Just like a lot of these AFC teams, they have a lot of glaring weaknesses that can be exploited by certain teams.
Yeah, look, like before, like,
the end of the first quarter, the Browns were averaging nine yards per play before a
Chardur interception where he made a bad pass against the guy's shoulder. It popped up. It was
intercepted. The bills tie the game. But the Browns never had a problem moving the ball. Their only
problem was that they had turnovers. The bills, meanwhile, like they had 103 yards on their
first two drives, which were touchdowns. They had touchdowns on their first three drives overall.
They missed the extra point. I made a note. I'm like, this extra point, this is going to hurt.
By the way, the Steelers are down, the lines are down to the 10-yard line right now. They just had a
huge screenplay to Amman Ross St. Brown. I don't know if you're watching or not, so I'm giving
you the update. But, you know, they were averaging 10 yards per carry as well. James Cook is
trying to win the rushing title today.
And then they could not do anything.
Again, they, Choudoir had a 14-play, eight-minute drive to make it a 23-17 game.
And I know Matt Mitchell was irritated.
Like, the bills seemed like they stopped trying because of his injury.
Three plays in a punt.
Two plays off a pick for a field goal.
Seven plays, only 36 yards, turnover on downs.
Punt.
Then they're fourth and one in the goal line.
drop a pass in the Brown's Ends end with 247 left,
and the guy drops the ball.
And they got bailed out by a tripping penalty, which nobody saw.
Simon, how many times did I see plays today
where I said to myself,
if they would just review every play from the booth
and do the instant replay,
or the instant whatever they're calling it,
of assistant review, this would be a better game.
You wouldn't have these bullshit calls
that actually have an impact.
Yeah, but like you said, it was a bad Josh Allen day.
We just, we unfortunately got one of those days.
Like, anytime he's going to be 12 and 19 for 130 yards,
we're pretty much dead.
So he unfortunately did not live up to the moment.
And, you know, their Browns defense, they are very good.
But they just, they got, you know,
if you bet the Browns, it's a good cover.
But at the end of the day, it's, what are we going to do, Chad?
It was a bad bet, taking this bill.
Detroit Lions just took the lead with 22 seconds left.
Matt Mitchell was going crazy because he's saying that it was not a bad day for Josh Allen.
He totally disagrees.
I do too.
There were some dreadful mistakes by his teammates.
Jacksonville at Denver.
Oh, wait, there might have been a peltie on the lines.
Jacksonville at Denver.
Jacksonville was a three and a half point road underdog.
Simon, this morning, we saw the pros coming in on Denver.
We had an extended conversation.
We saw the pros coming in on Denver.
We saw the pros coming in on New England.
We had a heavy debate about taking New England out.
And we were afraid to do it because we didn't want to lose the six and a half on the lions,
which as usual, like the pivot point line ended up meaning nothing for us in the contest.
Trevor Lawrence on the first scoring drive of this game made two ridiculous passes.
one time he was running left, throwing right in the middle of the field on a dine.
The second, tight coverage in the corner of the end zone for the first touchdown.
And I'm like, he's playing a different game the past five weeks.
There's no reason to hate him anymore.
We never hated him.
We just didn't understand it where it's like he has so much talent.
Why can he not be consistent?
And, you know, the offense like we've talked about, there are guys wide open.
Like the scheme is so great where, you know, he just plays within it and doesn't do his crazy stuff.
And, you know, Lee and Kohn, we talked about coming to the season using Trevor Lawrence's legs.
And I feel like we've seen that these last couple weeks, they've really leaned into the QB sneak, especially in the red zone area.
So in another rushing touchdown today, three passing touchdowns.
Like, it's crazy.
I think he's like 50 to 1 for MVP.
I know he won't win it, right?
We're too late in a year.
But there is a path.
They get the one seat.
he could somehow, you know,
if Stafford doesn't get the one seat,
he's a wild card.
They don't really give the MVP to wild card teams.
So there is an avenue.
Like, I'm not saying it's out of the realm
just because, you know,
Trevor Lawrence has played so well down the stretch here.
And this was a dominant performance,
not just by the offense with the defense as well.
So, you know, Bo Nix,
if you were someone that backed the Broncos tonight,
you got Bo Nix.
He was just off in a lot of passes.
Yes.
Yeah, not consistent.
But I don't know, like you, about you,
but I think anyone watching this,
Bo Nix has reached a level of I was a little scared when they're down 14.
He had the ball.
And it's like, oh, my God.
This is what Bo Nix does.
And we're going to get got here.
But, you know, luckily like we've talked about, the Shaguar's defense, they're for real.
They really did shut him down.
So they stepped up.
Yeah.
They were awesome.
And I definitely was doing the gambler's math in my head when it was 3417 at the start of the fourth quarter.
I'm like, okay, they have to score three touchdowns against the Jags defense, which has been playing lights out over the next 15 minutes of this game.
They need the ball three times.
They got to score three actual touchdowns in order to cover this game.
And in my head, I was still thinking, it's Bo Nix.
It's been a crazy year.
They flashed a graphic with his stats when he's behind in the fourth quarter and like 106.
pass-a-rating, 17 touchdowns, like all the glory to Bo Nix.
But Trevor Lawrence did his thing.
You just mentioned him running them with the ball.
The best play of the game for him might have been they've got a third down.
They need to convert it because they want to keep the ball away.
They're up two touchdowns.
There's like five minutes left in the game.
He realizes that the Broncos lose contain.
He runs to the spot and then keep.
keeps going and then sees he's about a yard short and before he can get tackled just dives.
He's supermans for the first down.
Got it.
That was the game.
Like the Broncos were not going to be able to score enough points if they got the ball back after that.
And by the way, Simon, the very next play, what have we gotten so mad at Trevor Lawrence about this year?
Not being able to snap the ball without getting delay a game in critical situations.
next play he got the ball snapped with like one second left.
It was he was awesome.
He was awesome.
That was crazy.
I was just surreal watching.
I couldn't believe how good he was playing for us.
And no, we were two of his bigger haters this year.
And he has really turned around that midseason.
Whatever happened, they've just been class of the class.
And I said coming to this game, it's like, I don't think these teams are that much different.
I don't, I think most of us still agree.
They're not 14 points better than this Denver team.
No.
But the Jaggs now, I think they're going to catch me with respect now that they're going to be a real contender in the playoffs.
They don't have many weaknesses.
They're a complete team for sure.
Look, the key point here, and this is where I think the Jags and Liam Cohn stood their ground and proved they can play with anyone in the AFC.
That opening drive they had of the second half, they're up 1710, the Broncos have the ball.
They get a defensive pass interference.
They get a personal foul.
and they give up a 40-yard touchdown run to PJ Harvey, who broke like four tackles.
And then they just pushed him into the end zone because they tried to force a fumble instead of tackling him.
The very next drive, Trevor Lawrence goes five for six for 35 yards, 75 yards on the drive, takes up time, scores a touchdown.
They go up 2417.
He was 13 of 15 for like 150 in a touchdown in the second half.
Just brilliant.
I'm so on the Trevor Lawrence bandwagon.
I don't know who said they didn't like Trevor Lawrence.
It wasn't us because we love Trevor Lawrence.
Remember when we voted for him, when we bet on him for MVP four years ago?
I think we're back on that train.
Yeah, it's just crazy coming to this game and just the fact that he was my only true concern
and he just played at a crazy high level against such a good defense.
It really was so impressive.
So this Lions game is not over yet for some reason.
I don't know what.
There's flags.
They're getting another free play here.
I don't know what's happening.
It's insane.
But they're not going to cover the six and a half regardless.
And this was a really-
We want to lose that.
We're rooting on our bear's futures here.
Well, games over.
The game's over.
The lines just lost.
So, this was a weird game.
First 30 minutes of the game, it was 10-3.
Key play changed everything.
Kenneth Gainwell.
A, the Steelers have the ball at the end of the first half.
They had a third and ten, convert, third and eleven, convert, multiple short third downs, convert.
And then, then Aaron Rogers just throws a Hail Mary-esque-like pass to Kenneth Gainwell.
Alex Anzolone tackles him while he's trying to catch it.
The ball lands on Gainwell's arm.
He catches it.
Anzolone doesn't touch him.
Gainwell gets up and scores a touchdown.
It's 10-10.
the lions were done after that.
Like in the third quarter,
they had the ball for three plays,
negative three yards, and a safety.
Like, that was it.
Yeah, just a bizarre world.
We got crushed again by the going against.
Tomlin, Jujoo.
The voodoo, that is Tomlin.
And bizarre.
Like that catch,
it literally hit his form and his other hand
was in just this position to keep it
so it never touched the ground.
And, yeah,
the Warrathol to pick it up and run.
knowing that he hadn't been touched.
He got touched before he had the ball.
It was just an incredible play.
And yeah, just, you know, what we talk about all the time.
The Pittsburgh wins.
They don't make sense.
Detroit outplayed them in every way, you know, stupid penalties or, you know,
going for a fourth down and not getting it.
It was just, it was one of those games for Detroit.
And you can't even blame their defense.
Like you said, their defense, you know, they had only given up.
They couldn't get them off the field on third down.
They could not.
Like, that was terrible.
Other than that stupid safety, they'd only given up.
including that stupid
fluke touch down 13 points
basically heading into the fourth quarter
and then you're right
Warner had busts off a huge run
and opened up the floodgates
and yeah they're that
like you're talking about that touchdown drive
they had three different times
they had Rogers in third in 10 or third and 12
and he picked up those third downs
to go get that touchdown before half
so I agree with you on that but
I just thought the all the offense laid a total leg
like they just looked out of sports
you know golf had a
really bad game.
Ramos says a lot of stupid shit,
but the stupidest thing he said this season was golf is an MVP discussion.
No one has had any type of discussion about golf being an MVP,
let alone now the man is on an 8 and 17.
Might and I even make the playoffs.
So that was just a bizarre world.
But yeah, this Pittsburgh team,
I don't know how they do it, Chad.
It's crazy.
Like they just,
they have these type of games.
And yeah,
really impressive winning.
Like you said,
another season,
Tomlin somehow.
gets over the 500 hump.
It's crazy.
So I can't believe it.
Unbelievable.
Aaron Rogers was so accurate on so many passes, getting the ball downfield.
Again, here's what's going to be interesting to me.
So D.K. Metcalf towards the end of the first half, got into it with some fan who was
leaning over the railing on the Steelers sideline.
And they had video of D.K. Metcalf taking a swipe at this fan.
No one in the field saw it.
The referees didn't see it, but they did make an announcement on the game that there was going to be some kind of punishment from the league.
Who knows what it will be?
D.K. Metcalf suspended next week.
Like as we're thinking about the week 17 lines, do we need to look ahead and say, all right, is he going to have D.K. Metcalf next week, Aaron Rogers.
I don't know if it's going to be interesting because there was definitely an altercation with a fan with him taking a swipe at the guy.
on the sideline.
I don't know if you saw that at all.
I did.
And immediately, you know what it made me think of chat?
I missed the good old days of snitches get stitches.
It had nothing to do with anything on the field.
No one saw it.
He was off talking to this fan.
The guy said something, I'm going to guess, super offensive,
that probably in a real way to drop the guy.
He smacked them.
And immediately everyone was like, putting the fingers,
ooh, this guy's going to get in trouble.
So I hate it.
It's gotcha culture, but he should be punished.
you can't be smacking fans, whatever they say in the stands.
You got to do the old-fashioned way, tell security,
and get the good test out again.
But, dude, I hate it.
People need to be smacking their mouth.
Some people just say stuff.
And, yeah, apparently this guy held up his jersey to get him come over there
and then said something to him, which is just...
Oh, is that what happened?
Yeah, crazy.
People are just so crazy.
What a dude you come to.
Yeah, he could be suspended.
I mean, I'll look at their schedule a little quick.
I think they end with the Ravens, right?
So if it's the next game, right?
Like you're saying, that's best case scenario.
So I'll be interested in the NFL does.
If he says, hey, man, this guy said either racial slur or something about my family,
are they really going to suspend them?
I don't know.
It's a tough spot for the NFL, but they might have to just because you can't have players
smacking fans in the face.
We know.
Meanwhile, the lions, they just looked terrible.
It's a bad year.
You know what's interesting?
Romo says what he says.
but when they were showing the graphics up,
like Jared Goff, 29 touchdown passes, five interceptions,
whatever money yards, top five in all categories.
If you had said to me, is Jared Goff having a good year?
I would have said, absolutely not.
How many times have we said on the show,
the lines don't seem right?
And like today, they just, they didn't seem right at all.
Like, Jemir Gibbs couldn't get it going.
Jared Goff couldn't get it going.
They didn't have the ball.
past their own 10-yard line until less than 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter
when we're talking about the second half.
Like they were just terrible today.
So yeah, listen, it's a Bears division.
I think we can agree.
So I don't even need to know why we're,
I don't even know why we're talking about the Lions.
I just go about the Lions fans.
It's like the NFL your window is literally two to three years and then it's just over.
So pretty brutal.
It's tough.
I do.
If they can get their offensive line fixed,
I still think they have enough offensive talent to make it go.
But their offensive line isn't as good this year.
They've had issues on the interior all year long.
And this year they were playing with a backup center.
And even on that play where golf was tackled in the end zone and there was a safety,
part of the problem is the timing on the play was off because the snap was at his ankles.
And so they've just had the same issues this year that have come up again and again and again.
and they have been as effective in the high leverage, high risk situations.
We're two and two on the day.
We got the New England Patriots plus three and a half tonight against the Baltimore Ravens.
It's going to be exciting before we get to the rest of the games,
the ones that almost made it in,
that certainly if we had chosen those instead of the losers,
we'd be four and oh.

So how do we actually come up with a name, Hey Jonas, guys?
I honestly don't remember.
I think it was on a call about what we should call it.
And we were thinking I'm originally calling it one of the early names of our band before Jonas Brothers.
This is how you guys remember it going down?
Yes.
I have a very different memory of this.
We were talking about a thing, a bit for the podcast, where people could call in and say, hey, Jonas.
And then I wrote down on my little notepad, Hey Jonas, and offered it up as a potential title for the podcast.
But thanks for remembering that, guys.

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm C.J. Toledano, and our podcast Point Game is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level that we've never seen before.
And he knows.
Without Luca and Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted.
this series because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup, he has to really guard guys
like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson, we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court licking his fingers while he got the bar like, after you go through
a training camp with that, Isaiah, you figure it out real quick.
Oh, yeah.
Get your ass up and down.
court and you're going to get the bomb.

hangingness happening on my own.
I was like, what the hell is that?
I was married when I had her, so I didn't even consider how empty that nest was going to be.
Mood swings, night sweats, fupas, sex drive.
Wait, what sex?
Dating at 45.
How can it be getting naked at 50 with the new guy?
That one's kind of hard, you know?
Well, that's lighting.
They say we can't polish a turd, but we're sure going to try.
So let's get blunt with laughs, tears, or tears of laughter, and dive into it unfiltered,
unbothered and ask, how hard can it be?
I cannot believe I'm about to say this out loud in public.

All right. So I'm looking at my phone right now
because one of the questions we have is about Tyler Schock
and the Saints who crushed the Jets today and he had another great game.
But I wanted to see where Tedaroa McNeillan was.
at and we talked about him a little earlier in the show.
He had 10 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown.
I'm sorry, he had six catches for 73 yards, 10 targets and a touchdown.
How are you feeling about Tyler Schock versus Tedaro and McMullen right now?
I would still give it to McMillan just because he's been more consistent, obviously,
throughout the whole season.
But, yeah, the Shuck, like I keep saying, if he wins out and it keeps pump the number he's
putting out. It's going to be really hard not to give it to him. It's just the harder position to
play, and he keeps winning. It's really impressive, and he's just consistent. Like today, you know,
I think you threw for 200 in the first half, no touchdowns. And the second half, you know,
was really great past the ball. Again, I think he threw over three yards and had great rushes.
And it's just, it's bizarre. Like, watching him, I just can't believe he's so, he's this good
and consistent for this Saints team. I just remember when I took him the second round, I was just like,
that feels like a bizarre pick or maybe it was a third round, whatever it was. I just thought
like it was a reach. And to me, the kids been by far the best rookie. Even though, you know,
Cam Ward played well today. He did win. I think that Shucks did play in just as well. So, yeah,
I just looked at the only thing I could see up right now is MVP. I am looking to see if they do
update what Shucks odds were. They were like 16 to 1 or 14 to 1 coming today. But for MVP odds,
Trevor Lawrence, like I talked about, he was 55 to 1. Literally 20 minutes before we started the podcast,
he's down to 40 to 1. Wow. So, like, I think,
I think pros are going to see the same thing as me.
I don't really think this guy is going to win it,
but what is the last four games?
I think he has 14 total touchdowns, no turnovers.
It's crazy.
So, you know, I said he played against a pretty soft schedule.
This was the number one defense, statistically in football.
And he really showed out.
We said three touchdowns, one rushing.
It's three-passing one rushing.
Crazy, crazy, crazy, world we're living right now.
Jags potentially going to be the one seed.
What are Kayla Williams?
MVP ads right now.
No way.
I don't even know if they're on the board, brother.
Oh, they are, 80 to 1.
That's actually a lot higher than I thought.
80 to 1.
Because you're right, he could be the one seed,
but.
They could be the one seed,
and if they're the one seed propelled there by
what we saw on Saturday night,
all of a sudden,
it's freaking magical.
We're going to get to him.
I don't know if he had played better
to start the year,
but they were so run heavy for the first eight weeks.
I think I'm still the mentality of like he could be your guys' first
4,000-yard passer, but I don't think your head coach is going to let him sling it.
I think he just wants to keep running the ball.
So it's a unique spot for the spares offense.
Listen, one of the games we left out today, Minnesota at the New York Giants,
the line of the Giants in the contest was two and a half.
And we were very disciplined on this one.
We just didn't like it at anything lower than three.
thank freaking God, because the Giants were a train wreck.
It was just a comedy of errors.
The Giants went for it early in the first half on fourth and five in their red zone.
They get sacked.
Next series, J.J. McCarthy throws a pick.
The Giants ran 10 of their first 11 plays in Vikings territory,
did not score in the first quarter.
And then they had a pick six against the Vikings who were in the Giants,
who were in the giant's side, inside the Giants five-yard line.
They had a pick six against J.G. McCarthy called back because Abdul-Carter lined up in the neutral zone.
The next series, Darth throws a pick.
The Vikings scored touchdown.
14-point swing.
J.J. McCarthy didn't even finish the game, and the Vikings and the Giants could not score
against the Vikings and ended up giving them the game-winning field ball.
What a pathetic performance.
Yeah, and it was bizarre.
Dart was 7 of 13 for 33 yards,
or as Matt Mitchell looks to say,
a pretty good game.
I don't know, pretty bizarre, in my opinion.
Like, I don't know why they weren't letting them pass the ball at all.
They weren't running well,
so I guess they just leaned into that.
And you said, we lost us a minute.
They went forward on fourth and five in the first quarter.
It was very bizarre.
It's like, okay, I guess they're going to be super aggressive this whole game,
but they weren't super aggressive.
No.
So I don't know what that thinking was.
And like you said that, when they called back that touchdown on him being off sides,
and they never gave us the camera angle to show us him actually being a landup in the neutral zone.
I was just fuming.
I was like, my God, they're going to kill us here.
But, yeah, the plus three, like I gave it on Simon says, we just, with these bad themes,
you've got to get every point you can.
And yeah, thank God we'd not take it two and a half because that would have stung.
That was just a brutal, brutal note cover.
It just felt like you said the giant, especially once the backup.
came in for Minnesota.
He had two insane throws on third down to Jefferson.
That basically sealed that cover for them.
So just an insane game altogether.
Simon, you know it would fix calls that feel like they're wrong on the field.
If every play could be immediately adjudicated by officials who are watching the replay
and come down with a booth review that says this actually wasn't a penalty.
It almost feels arbitrary what they're choosing to do it for and what they're not doing it for.
It's just stupid.
Just do it for everything.
And if the play's wrong, fix it on the field right away.
Guess who covered the 14 and a half point spread against the Houston Texans.
I take the blame for this.
We were having the conversation this morning.
I said, don't we have to put the Raiders in?
And you said to me, if you want to own it, have the courage.
do it.
I did not have the courage.
Part of me didn't have the courage
because I just didn't want to lose
the lion's line.
That was really it.
We got to stop getting attached you.
Remember we learned that last?
Yes.
That's what I mean.
And so like I didn't want to take the lions out
because I liked the line
and we knew we were going to replace the Patriots.
We weren't going to replace the lions anyways.
And so like I just didn't want to lose six and a half.
And I will not lie to you.
When Gino threw that just,
atrocious pick six to start the game to Stingley Jr.
Like he basically threw it right to him.
I'm like, oh, fuck, thank God.
Like this bed is dead.
And the goddamn Raiders,
the Raiders defense made C.J. Stroud look like C.J. Stroud
as he had been before he got injured,
which was discombobulated, inaccurate,
playing off his heels.
This whole offense looked terrible.
They won 23-21.
Without that pick,
the Raiders win the game.
game.
Yeah, again, I wish I'm more confident with you.
I literally bet this game just because that trend we talked about the shutout
trip.
Yes.
Went 2 and 0 today.
I much rather wish we had Cincinnati than any game.
It's like we were all over that one.
We loved that we knew Joe was going to bounce back.
That was also a horrible miss.
But yeah, the Raiders won.
I said on Tuesday, this is the type of game where you had to bet the money line and bet
the Raiders and it's going to make zero sense.
And I wish I'd kept that confidence because when I woke up today and I looked at it,
It's like, how is Gino going to move the ball against this Houston defense?
Like, it's going to take an absolute miracle.
And they got it.
Genti showed out.
This was an incredible Genti game.
Two touchdowns.
Big touchdowns.
Two touchdowns, 128 rushing, a 60-yard reception for a touchdown and just really dominant.
So, you know, this Texan team, they were due for a letdown game, a little bit of a stinker,
and they still found a way to win, which is really impressive by them.
So yeah, it was a good read by you.
And yeah, I'm just like you.
I regret not getting in there.
But like you said, probably only other, only team we would have taken out.
We would have lost in the line seven and a half anyway.
We would have had the Patriots out.
So we haven't sent here three and two, which that hurts to know because now we got to stay up and sweat tonight.
I know.
It's so frustrating.
It's every freaking week.
We can't get the right games out for the games that we want to put in.
The other one that we sort of just blew off.
And I told you, I bet the money line on the Tennessee Titans as underdogs against the Kansas City Chiefs.
And neither of us really considered putting it in the contest because the line had moved so much.
We just sort of felt like we weren't getting the best of it.
And I only bet the money line kind of like as a flyer.
Like I was just like, I don't know, but this chief team seems to not have anybody playing who's on their first ring anymore.
So I'm just going to bet the Titans money line.
And from the beginning, the Titans were all over this.
And then Gardner Minshue went out midway through the game with a twern ACL, I think.
Yeah, I just had the under and it.
I just didn't even want to watch it.
So, yeah, it was a good read by you and other pros.
The pros hammered this Tennessee game.
And shocking, there were some pros on the Chiefs.
Like, that game did get back up to minus three and a half today.
Was a unique spot to.
A lot of sports books I talked to.
They needed the Chiefs today.
It was a rare opportunity that, you know, the public was all over Tennessee,
and they came through a big way, like you said, they won 26 to 9.
And Minshue gets knocked out.
So it's like a 9-6 game at half.
I don't have Minchew got knocked out before the half or right in the beginning of the third quarter,
but whenever it was, they brought the back.
Before the half, yeah.
Yeah, it's bizarre.
It is truly bizarre.
The Chiefs lose by double-digit Tennessee Titans,
who, what is that, their third win?
Just keep ruining their own draft position.
I know, right?
Seriously.
The Giants, the Raiders, the Browns, those are the teams.
The Titans might be up there.
They might be top four.
No, it's the Giants, the Raiders, the Browns, and the Jets right now.
And the Giants have number one.
I think, I forgot who's got number two,
but the Browns have three.
And so it could be interesting to see who's going to try to trade up number one again.
It's Giants, Raiders.
Yeah, right.
It's go Giants, Raiders are both two and 13 teams.
So what are the Raiders going to give up to go get Fernando Mendoza?
That's the question.
Because the Giants will trade down.
Unless the Giants are like, screw it, we'll trade Jackson Dart,
get some more pieces and take from Fernando Mendoza.
If you believe in your heart of heart, chat, it's him.
You can get them minus 200.
A lot of books right now to be number one pick.
It's probably the best you're going to get
because I think the kid's going to kill the interview process.
Oh, my God, he's going to crush it.
Like you said, it'll be interesting to see who ends up
because if it is the Raiders,
with the number one pick, you know, that's,
could they do something stupid?
Sure.
But if it's the Giants, I could easily see them trading out.
Or who knows, maybe they don't like Dart and how he plays.
It's going to be really interesting draft.
By the way, next week, New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders
are playing each other.
Wow, that's crazy.
Isn't that crazy?
The number on that game,
Las Vegas is a one and a half point
home underdog
against the New York Giants.
Raiders, Giants,
Tennessee, those are the games we missed.
Bummer.
Bummer. Hi, Simon.
Who are you nominating?
Shame on you.
Oh, Chad. I've been waiting.
I was going to say something this morning.
Not even that. I was going to say something last week when we took Minnesota Vikings to beat the Cowboys.
Shame on you, Dallas Cowboys.
Shame, shame, shame.
Another failure of a season.
Unbelievable.
As an absolute Dallas hater, it doesn't get much better than this latest run.
Because they do love their quarterback.
They do.
They talk about DAC.
I mean, never any amount of times I heard DAC is better than Jalen Hertz.
What are we?
Two playoff wins for Dak.
was he about to be 31 years old at this point.
The excuses get pretty thin, Chad.
So the shame, I can't stop shaming them enough.
This Dallas team, unique, unique spot for them.
Today, we joked about it.
I remember not that you love Dallas,
but you were talking about how you like Dallas.
And we joke, there's no way you could bet on Dallas today,
knowing that they had nothing to play for.
And they looked like it that can have.
So just on microcosm of their season,
total failure organizationally and just got to shame them.
Just the, this big bad wolf of the 90s has just totally done nothing now for over 35 years.
And like I always joke, if they want to enjoy their Super Bowls, you got to plug in the VHS, put in the tape.
That's the world you're living in Dallas.
That is so, that is so, so true.
My shame of the week has to be the Lions.
especially in that final two-minute drive for the Steelers.
They had so many chances to get off the field in that drive,
and they could not figure it out,
playing against a 42-year-old quarterback.
And the most important receiver for him on that drive
was Adam Thielen, who joined the team like two weeks ago.
It was the perfect example of how veterans play football
when there's chaos on the field,
and everyone tenses up a little bit.
and they know exactly what to do
because they've been in that position a thousand times.
There were multiple plays on that drive
where they found open spots in the zone
and the Lions could not figure out
how to stop this team again and again and again.
That was the ball game.
That drive was the ball game
and they could not get off the field.
So shame on the Detroit Lions.
I think that was their season.
They're not going to make the playoffs right now.
You're going to need 10 wins to make the playoffs in the NFC
if you're not in the NFC South.
So that was it.
That was the lion's season right there.
And it's over.
For our loyal listeners who are so loyal listeners to tonight,
that Chairman Lawrence MVP stuff is crazy right now.
I just got a text that he's down to 30 to 1
at a couple of big books.
So the one book named after Donkey Kong,
if you know what I'm saying,
it's still available for 40 to 1 if you want to go get it.
So I'm going to do it as soon as I got off this call,
I'm going to throw a little bit on it.
It just is, I know it's,
It's not going to happen, but we always say just in case, just like the Shuck bet.
It's crazy.
Yeah, you never know.
Yeah, might as well throw 10 bucks, 20 bucks on it because you never know.

What's up, fam?
It's Isaiah Thomas.
And I'm CJ Toledano
and our podcast Point Game
is about defying the odds.
Like LeBron heading into the playoffs
without Luca and Austin Reed.
And finding ways to win no matter what.
He's the smartest player
to ever play the game.
His IQ is at a level
that we've never seen before.
And he knows without Luca and Austin.
Austin Reeves, I got to manipulate the game.
We get a player's perspective on the challenges of the playoffs.
I think Joker's going to be exhausted this series
because when they don't have Rudy in the lineup,
he has to really guard guys like Nas Reid.
He has to guard Julius Randall.
And then he has to give us everything he gives us
on the night-to-night basis on offense.
And when IT's friends stop by, like Quentin Richardson,
we dive into some playoff history too.
Steve Nash would get that thing.
That man, hell get the flying.
He running up the court, licking his fingers,
why he got the ball like,
after you go through a training camp with that Isaiah,
you figure it out real quick.
Get your ass up and down the court,
and you're going to get the ball.

Will Ferrell's Big Money Players
and IHeart Podcast presents soccer moms.
So I'm Leanne.
Yeah.
This is my best friend, Janet.
Hey.
And we have been joined at the hips since high school.
Absolutely.
Now a redacted amount of years later,
we're still joined at the hip,
just a little bit bigger hips.
wider. This is a podcast we're recording it
as we tailgate our youth soccer games
in the back of my Honda Odyssey.
With all the snacks and drink.
Sidebar. Why did you get
hard seltzer instead of beer? Oh, they had a
bogo. Well, then you got it.
Do you want a white collar
or something here? Just a hit it. What are y'all doing?
Microphones? Are you making a rap
album? I would.
Come on.
Could you imagine? I would buy it.
Cuts through the defense like a
hot knife through
sponge cake. That sounds delicious.
Oh, you're lucky. I'm not
drug addict. You're like, I'm not an alcoholic. You are. You're lucky I'm not a killer.
I love this team and I'm really trying to be a figure in their lives that they can rely on.
Oh.
Listen to soccer moms on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Who's your hero of the week? Oh, this is going to be pretty, pretty easy for your boy, Chad.
The Philadelphia Eagles, my hero of the week, Chad.
as an Eagles fan
I try not to be too bad
I let you have your morning
with your bears talk
even though they didn't clinch a division
like my Eagles did
and I just let you have your moment
because I was going to go
so homerific later today
knew my hero of the week
it's I keep talking about
it's the best it's the best run
in my lifetime
like these two Super Bowls
the past seven years
and we just are one hump
these last 20 years
we just cannot win the division back
the back. And that's why, even coming to the year, I remember I had tons of friends being like,
how are you giving out the Cowboys as one of your best bets to win the division? It's like, well,
I'm betting big on the Eagles. The Cowboys is just, this always happens. And it's not going to be
Washington. That's going to be the one that's going to put a scary dose. It's going to be the Cowboys.
But this year, it was all Philadelphia. And just all the stats, the crazy stats, just the fact that,
you know, let me look at it. In 2004, 2003, we went back to back the Eagles.
that is the last time, Chad,
that any team in this division went back to back.
It was Giants, Eagles, Cowboys, Giants, blah, blah,
all these different teams.
I think the Cowboys, we've basically been going back and forth
them for years now, but finally did it,
won back-to-back divisional titles.
Got a couple AJ stats, I'll give out real quick,
because it's never ended him out about,
oh, I wish AJ was on a passing team, blah, blah, blah.
The most receiving yards in Eagles history
for their first four seasons,
AJ Brown with 4,800 receiving yards.
The next one, Deshawn Jackson at 4,000.
The next one, Devante Smith at 4,000.
So when everyone somehow bad our passing offense is,
AJ Brown not only set our franchise record,
but beat it by 800 receiving yards.
Jalen Hertz took a ton of...
By the way, the most amazing thing about that is,
as bad as your passing offense is,
Devante Smith is third.
Yeah.
Because it's not a bad passing offense.
Yeah.
People's expectations are ridiculous.
Jalen Hertz been getting beat up this year.
He is the first quarterback at NFL history
to make the playoffs in four consecutive seasons
with a different offensive coordinator
than those four seasons.
Jalen Hertz is the sixth quarterback in NFL history
to reach a playoffs in his first five seasons as a starter.
Pretty rare opportunity for him.
And Nick Siriani, a guy I need to give a ton of props to,
just because I was one of his biggest haters.
I hated the guy's personality.
He just irked me.
He's a great coach.
he is one of three Super Bowl era head coaches to make the playoffs five times,
win the division three and go to the Super Bowl two different times.
The other two, Bill Cowhert and Chuck Knox.
So Chuck Null.
So pretty rarefied air.
And yeah, I just, as an Eagles fan is a big time homer.
I do my best out to bring it to the show because people hate Eagles fans.
We're probably going to knock down in round one,
but I believe we're going to win the Super Bowl, obviously.
But this could be peak.
but the fact that we won our division
and the Cowboys were eliminated
with three games last.
I was partied all Saturday.
When the Bears won their game chat,
it was icing on the kick.
It was a great night for your guys.
Yeah, hero of the week,
Philadelphia Eagles organization.
Well, listen, you know I love the Eagles.
As much as I would like to hate them.
I have a huge affinity for the Eagles
between, you know, doing Invincible with Vince Papali,
doing the show with you,
having spent so much time
in Philly because of my kid going to Drexel. I love the way people in Philly speak. I love
going to the Eagles games. I love the atmosphere in Philly around sports. I'm all in. Fly Eagles
Fly. Go Eagles. I'm happy for you. I'm happy for the town. I'm happy for Nick Siriani. I'm happy
for Jalen Hertz. I love it. I love that defense. I love that offense. I love that special teams.
I love that offensive line. I'm with you. 100%.
But there's no way you're taking away my hero moment from Caleb Williams.
Because tonight, tonight with the Detroit Lions lost, the Chicago Bears have clinched a playoff spot in the 2025 playoffs.
Caleb Williams drops a dime in the bucket from 50 yards out with a 0.06 inch line of separation to DJ Moore.
who had gone out of the game because he had been hit in the back without Luther Burden Jr.
Without Roma Dunzee, with a offense that was struggling for most of the night,
they come back from 10 points down in the final minutes.
They recover an on-side kick because this team believes good, better, best.
They never let it rest until the game is over.
And you know what Caleb Williams did today, Simon?
What do you do?
Caleb Williams on a football Sunday.
He could have been hanging around watching Red Zone, seeing how the games played out.
He went under the community, did some community service with the people in the city of Chicago.
And what was he wearing on his head?
Tell me.
A cheese grater hat.
Fuck the Packers.
Bear down.
Caleb Williams.
Hero of the week.
Go bears.
Old timer.
Look at us.
Look at us just being happy.
Simon Saz was New York Giants plus three.
Chad's choice is New England plus three and a half.
Brass balls was Washington plus six and a half.
Rock in a hard place.
Buffalo minus 10 and a half.
What the fuck.
Talk about it.
Come down here.
Sharp versus Square.
Chad had Tennessee, I think, and you had the Rams.
No, I had, unfortunately.
I had Buffalo.
Buffalo.
I had Tennessee.
Our favorites parlay was New Orleans.
Yes.
Detroit, no.
Cincinnati, yes.
Buffalo minus five and a half.
No.
Dallas.
No.
Our underdog parlay, Tennessee.
Yes.
Arizona.
No.
New York Giants.
No.
Jacksonville, yes.
New England is tonight.
All right.
I mentioned a couple of the lines for week 17.
Carolina, seven and a half point underdog at home against Seattle.
That one immediately jumped out at me.
You said be wary because of, you know,
will Carolina have anything to play for?
I don't think Carolina knows how to pull back.
That's not the Panther way.
That and just the up and downs we've had from this year.
They just, they...
Right.
Every other game, they lose.
And I've been making money off.
It's very, it's been very lazy,
lazy betting, but it's been it's been hitting really nice.
Yeah, it's going to be a tough week.
Like, I don't want to waste too much time the Christmas games because Rob Serringo
really harder than on Tuesday.
But, you know, the books are going to be begging for Washington and Minnesota money.
The Washington are at home against Dallas.
They're plus five and a half right now.
I mean, I'll probably going to take them.
We'll find out who the quarterback is and that's what I'll take my position because I'm,
I'm obviously hesitant to back it, but Dallas looked for a team that was totally checked out
today. And, you know, in Minnesota plus five and a half against the Lions team, they already
beat earlier in the year. The public is going to do what they did today, right? They're going to
hammer the Lions once again. So you can be patient on that one. I think we'll go to get the
six. Two Saturday games, don't really have a great read on either of them yet. It's, it's begging
me to take the Chargers. Chargers are minus one and a half at home against the Texans.
We've talked. The Texans, it feels like they'd just been getting away with one. And today
it was a day they should have got caught and they still wanted. So maybe I'm overreacting and they are
legit team. I should just take them as a dog
here. Like that's usually when we back C.J. Stroud
and usually fade Herbert as a favorite.
We didn't even talk about Herbert, but again,
another week, Herbert has a dog covered.
The stats are just crazy. I think he's
13 and 2 against the spread
as an underdog.
Then the night game on that Saturday
is Green Bay Packers
versus the Ravens.
Some books opened Green Bay
plus two, plus two
and a half.
Really can be interesting what that number is
if it's still available, you can still get it tonight
if the Ravens do win or, you know,
say they do show up and they blow them out,
this easy is to go up to minus three,
minus three and a half for this Ravens team.
So just early indication, I'll be patient.
I want to be on Green Bay.
Like I think Malik Willis is pretty good.
Yeah.
So that's a really interesting one.
Now let's get to the bets I do want to make Chad.
You know, I know people are going to be annoyed of it,
but I'm going to keep going to this well of this Colts team.
It's, I know the history of them, the Jags, but they're plus seven right now.
Just early line, I'll grab that.
They're plus seven at home against the Jaguars.
I just, people don't have to rush together because they get to seven and a half,
but I'm going to grab it now just in case they do upset the 49ers.
That number will drop.
So that's an early one I'm going to grab.
I can't believe it.
Your Chicago Bears, Chad, they're plus three against the 49ers.
I've talked about, I'm very suspect that 49ers team.
So I'm going to drink the.
Kool-Aid. I'm going to take the plus three. I've been doing it all season with this Bears team.
They just play ugly. They can be getting blown out. They'll find a way to kind of back door it.
Good, better best. Good, better best.
And I know I'm banned from talking Tennessee Titans Saints games, but
how do I not ride my boy Shuck? He's minus two right now on the road against his Tennessee team
after a huge Tennessee win. So I might be getting stepping into a trap here. I'll be patient on
that one. I'm going to grab it just in case.
It goes up to minus three on Shuck on the road.
So very public favorite on the road here.
But I just, I love the Saints team.
Oh, I can't wait until it gets a three and I'm taking the Tennessee Titans.
I love this team.
It's probably the right side.
That's the pro-love this team.
All right.
We are waiting on the Patriots tonight at plus three and a half.
That will be the fifth game of the day for us.
We lost with the Lions minus six and a half.
The bills minus 10 and a half, one with the Jags, plus three and a half.
and I forgot who else we won with.
That's so weird.
You don't remember who we won with today?
We won with the Jags.
Carolina.
Carolina, that's right.
Our favorite team ever.
It's like forgetting my favorite child.
All right.
